Fonti del Clitunno is a natural oasis with stunning emerald waters that have inspired poets and writers throughout history. It's a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, offering refreshment from the summer heat. The area also features wooded trails circling a lake inhabited by swans and a noted restaurant. Nearby, visitors can explore the UNESCO-listed early Christian sanctuary, Tempietto del Clitunno.
Probably the most pristine and serene parks in the entire region. Must visit!

Nice little park, you can spend an hour here walking around and chilling. There's a bar and all the amenities. Prices are acceptable.
Feliciano C — Google review
the place was aesthetically pleasing, really well kept and loads of ducks and swans to keep you company. there was a nice track you could follow all around and walk in the whole park. the water sources weren't exactly pointed out but you can easily spot them. there was also a playground for kids. best place to walk your dog. only thing i didn't like was the entrance fee: it was only 3€ but why would i pay to enter a park? the water sources weren't that breathtaking or odd, there weren't any special features at all apart from a couple of crosses over the lake. so why is it necessary to buy a ticket? overall it was a nice experience. it's also wheelchair accessible but you can't go everywhere.
Elisa ! — Google review
A shame that this small, beautiful park is privatized and locked behind paid entrance. I only once visited the private park, but found it quite limited and the paid entrance didn't really make sense (although it's only 3€). The emerald waters of the Clitunno are really a wonder. This was once a large river: in roman times boats were able to navigate it, and its source was of strategic and religious importance. Seismic movements drastically changed the river which then became the stream of today. Particular minerals make the water mesmerizingly colourful. Good news! You can enjoy the scenery without entering the paid area. There is a nice free area that is of great beauty as well. Just keep on walking on the main road on the entrance side until you see a restaurant, and enter the natural area there. By the look of it, the park and restaurant area were clearly part of the same park not too long ago, but they've been brutally split with wire fences for monetary reasons. Also consider that there is a very nice free walking path, which runs on the bank of the Clitunno stream, between the enclosed park and the countryside. You can find it after the end of the restaurant free area path: just keep walking towards the countryside, then you will find a horizontal car barrier, get around it and enjoy the walk. All pictures I posted here come from this "free" visit. The area would really shine if they merged all these things together and

Really nice, wild fowls all over the place, some rare species can be found here, crystal clear waters surrounded by lavish vegetation, entry €3 per person but that's OK.

The Temple of Clitunno is a small-scale, early-medieval Roman monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ceiling frescos. Located in the heart of the city, it played a pivotal role in the development of the area during the Middle Ages. The square where it stands dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries and features valuable religious and civil monuments.
If you're in the area you cannot miss the little temple of clitunno! A must for anyone trying to complete all the "longobards: places of power in italy" unesco sites. You may think it's free but the lady in the shack will come get you and make you buy tickets. If you want student discount say you study archeology...definitely not chemistry 😪

Palazzo Trinci is a Renaissance-era residence turned museum that showcases local archaeology and medieval history. Located in the heart of the city, it was once the home of the noble Trinci family who ruled from 1305 to 1539. The palace now houses a museum complex with richly decorated rooms, featuring collections from the Civic Art Gallery and exhibits on the history of the territory in its Archaeological Museum and Multimedia Museum of Tournaments, Jousts, and Games.
A hidden gem in the heart of Foligno. Unassuming at first… until you are inside! Do yourself a favour and don’t miss out in this one. There’s a bit of everything for you here: art, architecture, archaeology, history… It’s much bigger than it seems from the outside, so budget a few hours and enjoy.

Le Cimate winery is highly regarded for its technology-driven approach to winemaking. Paolo, the tour guide, impressed visitors with his entertaining presentation on the winemaking process and the advanced systems used at Le Cimate. The team's passion for technology is evident in their use of state-of-the-art machines and materials. The Degustazione Sacro-Selection tasting option was chosen, which included a bonus Trebbiano Spoletino and an additional dessert wine recommended by Paolo.
We’ve been coming here since discovering their wines in 2022. Valentina is a lovely host, and Paolo makes great wines. Whether you like white, rose, or red wines, there is surely something you will enjoy here. The new tasting room is beautiful, and the wines are lovely. Absolutely recommend for trying a variety of Umbrian wines without hesitation.

Such a perfect place to sample the best wine Umbria has to offer. I was enchanted by this fabulous winery with passionate, devoted, knowledgeable wine makers who clearly love what they do. Valentina was a wonderful and passionate host and Paolo is clearly so passionate about wine making. Every wine was divine and the food was delicious. A must try is the hazelnut spread which was a highlight and so is their olive oil. A magical winery in an idyllic location. I cannot wait to return one day.

A modern winery in a rustic location. We enjoyed the tour of the winery and the wines. Worth going just to taste the Sagrantino, it is excellent with complexity understood after the wine tour. After dismissing Tannat before, this guy seems to have mastered it. Tasted 7 wines and food for 30 euro- excellent value and wish we could have bought more.

The italian restaurant La Bottega Di Assù is a great place to enjoy delicious food and beautiful interior decoration. The owners are very hospitable and the music playing in the background is always lovely.
Top level restaurant in Bavagna! Every dish surprised me!🥰 😍The tapas with fig is very elegant and the bread is perfectly roasted with olive oil, which makes me screamed!!! 🥰The typical Italian tomato salad is a must-eat dish in summer. Two types of tomato are creatively mixed with olive and celery, which add a new layer of taste. 😻The spaghetti is cooked with cheese, but it’s not heavy at all. Very delicious! The dish-wares are very stylish, which I love so much. The restaurant is very closed to the main square, theatre and church, top view of the town.

One of the best restaurants in Umbria! We keep coming back here since 13 yrs! Best Pasta amatriciana, wonderful biscuits, great olive oil & bruschette & other fresh & delicious dishes! Assunta is a charming & wonderful person & does all the cooking herself! Absolutely recommend!!! Forget the bad comments of some non-taste Americans- they shouldn’t even be allowed into this beautiful place if they have no idea of the Italian pace of life! ❤️

A restaurant should be more than just what's on your plate and the nice scenery around it. La Bottega was recommended by our B&B host, so we went there for a nice experience… Unfortunately. If you need to beg why it takes so long to have your bottle of Sagrantino wine on the table long after the appetizers arrived (‘we don’t find the bottle’), why my meal arrives long after my wife has finished her’s, why we can’t have the bill because the chef is too busy in the kitchen, it is really sad because actually the food was good. Things can go wrong for whatever reason but communicate, explain and apologise to your customer or accept a poor review. There are plenty of similar alternatives in Bevagna like Le Barbatelle where the total experience is just sublime, so please get your service right. The food and the place is promising, just fix all the rest, your kitchen really deserves this.

Vinosofia is a charming wine bar run by an American sommelier and her Italian husband. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, with guests seated around the bar chatting with the friendly owner, Brenda. The enoteca offers a delightful selection of local wines and serves small plates of locally sourced food. The extensive wine choices are reasonably priced, and the owner's approachable explanations make the experience enjoyable for all visitors.

Great experience at this wine bar, the products were truly excellent, from the cured meats to the wine. Palazzo dei Consoli is a medieval palace located in the heart of Gubbio, Italy. It stands as a symbol of the town with its elegant facade and dominating position. The palace houses the Civic Museum, which features an enduring collection of local artifacts dating from prehistoric times to the 1900s.
This is , belive it or not, the town i grew up in which makes this my homwtown. The " Palazzo dei Consoli" was one of the most advanced buildings for its time, it had running water and a fountain on the 3rd floor! If you look closely along the stairways, there are little cones and peep holes that were used to communicate throughout the palace, (intercom). This is also where "La corsa dei Ceri" starts (15th May). You can tell this city was respected by the Roman's by the fact that they built an amphitheater at the feet of Monte Ubaldo, as opposed to burning the whole town down!

Chiesa di San Francesco is a remarkable gothic church located in Gubbio, known for its original frescos including the 15th century series depicting the Madonna by Ottaviano Nelli, a renowned artist from Gubbio. This 13th century church was constructed on the former residence of the Spadalonga family, where St. Francis sought refuge and meditated in what is now a chapel within the church.

The Church of S. Francesco della Pace belongs to the Guild of Masons, Stonecutters and Congener Arts. This little temple represents an essential stage in the Festa dei Ceri ritualities ( here the election of the Captains takes place and the statuettes of saint Ubaldo, Giorgio and Antonio, placed on the top of the Ceri , are kept). The church was built on the cave where, according to tradition, the tamed wolf lived and it took its name ( S. Francis of Peace) when in 1584 the stone on which St. Francis prayed after the pact of peace with the wolf was taken here and became the altar stone. In the crypt it is possible to see a sarcophagus which, according to tradition, is from the tomb of the wolf.

The Civic Museum of Palazzo della Penna is a captivating exhibition center located in Perugia, Italy. Housed in a historic building, the museum features permanent collections as well as temporary exhibits, showcasing an array of contemporary and modern artworks. Visitors can admire fantastic works by renowned artists such as Ambrogio Lorenzetti and Gerardo Dottori. The museum also offers a delightful cafe and art souvenirs for visitors to enjoy.
If you buy tickets to Penna, Etruscan Well and Palazzo Sorbello, you get ticket discounts! Penna was a nice surprise - modern exhibition. I "discovered" the perugian painter G. Dottori and enjoyed very much his works.

Decent museum. The highlight is the church with its remarkable middle ages frescos decorating its walls. The ground floor Franciscan monks wine industry is also preserved quite well.

The futurist exhibition is excellent! The stairs are interesting architecture. The ticket also gives entry to another museum—check their website.

This is a small museum tucked just outside of the wall in Perugia. Exhibiting the contemporary works of Gerardo Dottori and others. Also has a great small Cafe.

Fabulous art exhibitions. Especially liked the Dittori displays. Laid out very well with loads of thought-provoking art. First rate.

We really enjoyed the Dorothea Lange exhibit in the small, but tastefully done, museum.

Loved this cute gallery. Such friendly and helpful staff too. Fabulous art from Dotti , Beuys and a temporary exhibition of Psychedelic art. The jazz festival could be heard in the background. Highly recommend this gallery.

A really lovely art museum built on a Roman amphitheatre with some fantastic works in their collections. I especially loved the Italian Futurism exhibit of Gerardo Dottori. They have some great art souvenirs and a nice cafe as well. The staff were really lovely and courteous, definitely worth your time!

Nestled in the picturesque Umbria region, Tenuta Castelbuono is a stunning winery that captivates visitors with its remarkable architecture and breathtaking views. As you approach, you'll be greeted by striking sculptures lining the driveway, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. While some guests have noted that the wine tastings could benefit from a bit more warmth and creativity, many rave about the attentive service and engaging explanations provided during their visits.
We came for a degustation and it was fantastic! The wines served, and the paired snacks were exceptional. We ended up buying several bottles of wine to take with us. The service was very good aswell. Location and atmosphere are a highlight here. The building itself, and the surrounding views, are something out of a fairytale book. Not to be missed! Book in advance.

Arrived at 620pm but could not get any service. I understand not being able to go on a tour but surely had time for a tasting, wouldn't even sell us a glass of wine so we could sit out and enjoy the view. She offered us a glass of water!!! Please change your hours to say closes as 630pm.

Amazing experience to explore the Wines of the Umbria region. The service was really attentive and the explanation very interesting. The Bulding itself and the vineyard are impressive. Wines are really good for being locals. Must to try in Umbria.

Such a beautiful winery! I wish I reserved a tour in advance so we could have seen more but the wines were excellent and the staff were very friendly

Interesting sculptural space - we were on our way out of town and stopped by right when they opened so were the first ones there. They charged us 8 euros to taste two red wines per person.

A fantastic place, for wine and architecture lovers. The wine is great anf the people organising the tasting and the visit are open, passionate and very welcoming!

Less genourus than previous, but we were late in the day, but still very helpful & a glass of red in those surroundings is excellent.

Beautiful structure and design by the architects, however, not worth it for the 35 euros that you pay for the tour and the tasting of 4 wines.

Pizzeria Mediterranea, located in Perugia, is a highly recommended pizza place that offers tasty Neapolitan-style pizzas. The restaurant has a charming garden where customers can enjoy their meals. They also serve a delightful tiramisu, although it's so irresistible that it often gets devoured before anyone can take a picture of it. Pizzeria Mediterranea is a must-visit establishment in Perugia and is well-known for its large and delicious pizza pies.
Actually first time had pizza in Italy. Then I ordered a second one. It is the BEST I’ve had, including Greece and New York. So many types to choose from! The servers were very helpful and atmosphere great. Get there early & bring friends so can share many different types

Amazing pizza and tiramisu! The place is a real gem. The staff is very friendly and the pizza is super delicious. You can see that they really care about the quality of their pizza and that the staff is enjoying their work. Although we were very full already we took the tiramisu. It was worth it every bite.

Wine store
Nestled in the heart of Gubbio, Enoteca Eraldo Dentici Gubbio is a charming bar and wine shop that offers an impressive selection of natural wines, with at least 30% dedicated to this category. This delightful spot not only showcases local and seasonal organic foods but also provides a unique opportunity to explore the world of natural wines. During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Stefano, who describes himself as a "renegade sommelier.
Fantastic wine-tasting and wine-discovering experience in the centre of Gubbio! Thanks to the professionality, openness and warmth of Stefano, you will be able to taste (noteworthy, for free!) several natural wines with uncommon tastes. I highly recommend the PiccolPasso wine...but I recommend even more to try all of the wines proposed and find your favorite one!
Luisa C — Google review
Had a fantastic experience. Stefano knows very well the product and guide you through all the wines (yes, you get to try them all). since we were on a roadtrip and natural wines are not to be left in the car under the summer sun, he organized the shipment for us so that we could safely get our wines directly home. I suggest not to miss a visit to this place.
Valentina F — Google review
Stefano is a lovely, knowledgeable and passionate individual. The wines sold in this small shop are totally delicious and very special. I would highly recommend stopping to learn more, taste and inevitably buy these rare wines. Montefalco wines at their best - small-scale production and biodynamic.

(Translated by Google) We found ourselves, not entirely by chance, in Eraldo Dentici's shop, since we wanted to buy some wine as a souvenir of our trip to Gubbio. Above all, we stumbled upon Stefano, a "renegade sommelier," to quote his own words, because he's embraced a production method that perhaps strays from the established methods required but embraces "old-fashioned" production, with wines that reflect and convey authenticity, passion, and love for their terroir. Again, to quote his own words, these wines are either loved or hated. We loved them, just as we appreciated Stefano's expertise and knowledge, the way he put us at ease. In a friendly and sometimes lighthearted but never superficial manner, he told us about the history and the choices of this winery, and he introduced us to and let us taste his wines. It goes without saying that we returned home with a white and a red, eager to taste them as Stefano recommended! What a wonderful experience! Bella esperienza!

Nestled in the charming village of Cantalupo, just a stone's throw from the medieval town of Bevagna, La Lumaca d'Oro is a delightful culinary haven run by brothers Simone and Federico Pensa. This restaurant specializes in snails, prepared in various delectable ways that showcase both tradition and creativity. Beyond snails, guests can indulge in grilled meats, truffle dishes, and an array of local cured meats paired with exquisite wines.
Bruschetta Lumaca was excellent. The meat on the skewers was a bit dry.

(Translated by Google) I found this restaurant by chance as I had gone to the snail festival, but fate would have it that it was closed for lunch, so some locals recommended this restaurant to me. It's excellent, the food is really good. I love snails, and I had a wonderful time. The tagliatelle with delicious snail sauce, slightly spicy enough and with all the flavor of the snails underneath, then the roast snails were spectacular, delicious, made with artisanal oil, so good that I finished the remaining oil in the dish with all the bread I had. They had told me in advance that it would take a bit of time as they had two ceremonies, but instead the first course arrived in 10 minutes and the second course after another 15. Excellent service, excellent food, and a very kind waitress. I will definitely be back.

La Scarzuola is a restored 16th-century monastery and architectural complex that offers guided tours by reservation. The site features eccentric architecture, theaters, and temples arranged along a hilly path, creating a surreal atmosphere. Originally a Franciscan abbey built by Saint Francis in 1218, the property was purchased by architect Tomaso Buzzi in 1958. Buzzi transformed it into his ideal city with seven theaters, blending historical styles and symbols in his designs.
A truly unique experience. Amazing art installation used for commercials, product launches, and movies. The 'road' to get there is a bit rough but it's worth the trip!

Amazing place. A convent/church that has been revived by a genius architect and artist who built magnificent and creative theaters behind it. Unique. Wherever you look, you'll see another work of art. Entrance only on weekends by pre reservation. The tour (mandatory) is a bit too long, and *you can't* leave before it ends...

PLEASE AVOID! Leaving one star because I can’t leave no stars. I don’t even know where to begin. We arrived after 11am on a Saturday morning (hadn’t checked the website as I always check opening times on google maps, perhaps my fault), and were rushed in by somebody standing at the gate to the property. Without explaining much, he told us it was 10€ per person, and we paid in cash. He locked the gate and told us to follow him. We arrived to an amazing amphitheater where there were about 100 people, half of them listening to an older guy speaking very loudly in Italian. It was no problem we didn’t understand half of it, at least we would get a tour of the place, or so we thought. He rambled for at least 45 min… not really sure if that was supposed to be a tour or what, but we decided we were not willing to spend the next hour listening to a mad man talking about the universe in the intense heat, without seeing any of the actual place! Worst 10€ spent, ever. Still, we thought we’d cut our losses and asked the man who we paid to let us in, to let us out. No big deal right? He told us to wait 5 min, which we did. After that, we asked again if we could leave. Very very quickly he got quite defensive, and said (not jokingly) he “might not let us out at all”. EXCUSE ME, WHAT? I’ve never ever experienced such awful customer care/experience. We can laugh about it now but panic was starting to set it, honestly. I was so ready to call the police when he started walking towards the exit. We followed him and thank god! What an absolute nightmare. We were finally free. I’m sure the place is amazing, and I would have loved to see more of it, but it’s really not worth dealing with such tw***. Spend your money somewhere else. In a pizza, a glass of wine, an aperol spritz or anywhere else where you’ll feel you’re actually treated with respect. PLEASE AVOID!!
Silvia S — Google review
The place is beautiful and for sure culturally and historically fascinating, but as a person with limited understanding of Italian, I felt like I was a prisoner of the tour guides who refused to let us leave after an hour of listening to an abstract monologue full of insults and inside jokes that no one found funny. In the end we convinced someone to open the door for us, but were denied the honor of seeing medieval frescoes, which felt a lot like a vendetta for our lack of appreciation for the tour. The road leading to the place is definitely only fit for 4x4 cars. If you have one, speak Italian and also have 10€, 2 hours and a lot of patience then I guess it can be worth it. Really curious to know what guardia di finanza would say about the fact there is cash only & no receipts policy.
Joanna R — Google review
The architect Tomaso Buzzi is the creative mind who brought together historical styles, symbols, and quotes from the past in his designs for this aritecture park. Built on the ex-property of a Franciscan monestary. Our guide, the nephew of Buzzi, opened the visit by noting: "St. Francis was the first who used drugs" as a way to think about the way people use drugs today to change their perception of the world. The tour is in italian but there is someone on hand to help with English sums on the side. Group visit is big (c100 people) but the guide uses a speaker-microphone so it was easy to hear. Also, big open spaces and much freedom to walk around and take photos. It seemed to me many people in my group did not read about the site in advance OR were not open-minded enough to appreciate the site and the guide. I highly recommend the site for people who want to have an experience outside the norm of guided visits to art-gardens in Italy. Be sure to rsvp weeks in advance.
Linda N — Google review
Incredible history of architecture and sculpture! Must visit but call and book in advance as they often don't take bookings/no last minute entries! 10euro per person

Cantina Dionigi, a family-owned winery with a rich viticulture tradition dating back to 1896, is located in the Montefalco area of Umbria. The vineyard is known for its cultivation of the Sagrantino grape, which has uncertain origins but is believed to have been mentioned by Pliny the Elder as 'Itriola.' The winery prides itself on hand-picking grapes to ensure concentrated flavors in their wines.
We had a great tasting at Cantina Dionigi. The terras is beautiful located with a stunning view over the valleys to Assisi. The owners were very flexible and we tasted many great wines, they also showed us the cellar which was also very nice. The wines were delicious, especially the Rosso Riserva and the Sagrantino. Great value for money, highly recommend visiting this place.

My wife and I searched for months the perfect venue to host our special day in Umbria (as it is my native region). After several disappointing visits to vineyards across Umbria (often inflexible or far too corporate in their mindset), we met Roberto & Carolina. Never was there an easier decision...after spending just 5 minutes with them and having a genuine conversation over their fantastic Sagrantino and fresh bruschetta made with their rustic olive oil, I was immediately transported to my childhood and reminded of the forgotten Umbrian hospitality. Over the year and half of planning, Roberto & Carolina's flexibility, willingness to help and advice was invaluable. Often acting more as older brother and sister to my wife and I rather than suppliers, we knew we could rely on them. Needless to say we couldn't have wished to have a better wedding day, the venue is magnificent, the view is breathtaking and the people are real. If you want to taste the best of Umbria, the wine, food, the people and the landscape. Cantina Dionigi is where to go.

When I visited Tenuta Bellafonte a year ago, their wines were impressive and the owner displayed a remarkable enthusiasm for his accomplishments. Their Trebbiano Arneto is outstanding, offering flavors of fresh white fruits and citric notes. The location is somewhat secluded, but it provides an incredible view and the renovation of an old country house is exceptional. It's definitely a must-visit destination! The wine itself is superb, and the winery offers fascinating insights into its production.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a wine tasting at Tenuta Bellafonte, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and provided insightful information about the vineyard's history and winemaking process. The setting was breathtaking, nestled in the picturesque Umbrian countryside, offering stunning views that perfectly complemented the tasting experience. The wines themselves were outstanding; each one was unique and reflected the rich terroir of the region. The standout for me was their Sagrantino, which had a perfect balance of bold flavors with a unique smooth finish. Our host was knowledgeable and passionate, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of the wines. The intimate atmosphere made it feel like a personalized and exclusive experience. I highly recommend Tenuta Bellafonte for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality wines in a beautiful and relaxing setting. It's a must-visit for wine enthusiasts and anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable experience.

La Prosciutteria in Perugia is a distinctive establishment known for its oversized charcuterie platters. What sets this place apart is their personalized service, where guests can specify the number of people and choose from small, large, or gourmet boards. These boards are thoughtfully arranged with a variety of cheese, meat, fruit, veggies, toasts, and more. Additionally, they offer sandwich and salad options.
Nice related setting. Great selection of cold cuts, sandwiches and even a "real" salad. They custom made a sandwich for our 7 year old. Try their craft 🍺

Waiter was very very welcoming. The menu is entirely in Italian so she explained it all to us in English and made recommendations. Good place to take a break from sight seeing and have a few aperol spritzes. Taking stars off because the food itself was not remarkable. The porchetta was very dry. I’ve had better porchetta from a deli.

Crowdy place, but a must if in Perugia! The charcuterie plates are spectacular and come with lots of different products. We had the "gourmet plate" for two persons and it was more than enough for dinner. We were also provided with some explanations about the different components on the plate.

What can I say. We saw this place on Stanley Tucci. We said we will have to go there. And it certainly didn't disappoint. The food was out of this world and the service outstanding. Thank you for making this such a memorable place xxx

Even if it's a franchise, it's definitely a spot which is worth a stop while in visiting Perugia center. It's lively, dynamic, young typical and rustic. You can have either cold cuts of cheese or different type of carpaccio or a special sandwich you can elaborate with your favorite ingredients. They also serve warm dishes like tagliatta , pasta, lasagne etc.... We got a board of cheese, cold cuts and grilled vegetables for two. Each was abundant, enough for a lunch ( 20 euros, 10 each ). It was a bit cold inside and the house wine not the best.

Serpillo is an Italian restaurant located in Bevagna, Italy. It has garnered positive reviews for its delicious food and stunning views. The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its superb dinners and amazing atmosphere. Visitors have praised not only the quality of the food but also the beauty of the village where it is situated. Serpillo is highly recommended for those looking to enjoy Italian cuisine in a charming setting.
Visited this restaurant while staying at Otello Bello. Excellent appetizers, pastas, steak and desserts paired with local wines! Very highly recommended….
Raj V — Google review
We were really disappointed by Serpillo after it being recommended by a local. The cooking was inconsistent, especially the steaks we ordered. And overall the entire group of us agreed it was not high quality. The courses also came in a very strange order, with some guests getting starters and other receiving their main courses at the same time, it was strange overall and we didn’t have this experience anywhere else in Umbria.

Beautiful place! Wonderful views of the mountains, set in a small Hamlet. Very friendly staff, innovative approach to dishes and some classic. Loved every bit of our meal and our time there. The dessert of strawberry cheesecake mousse with meringue was sublime and we normally skip dessert. But I would get it again !

Delicious food in a lovely and magical place. To come back for sure. You can see the kitchen and how they work. Only negative point: when we dinner there, the toilette had a problem and we prefer not to use it, all the place was wet.
Rossma G — Google review
We have lived in this area of Umbria for a number of years and, for some strange reason, we had never enjoyed a dinner at Serpillo until recently. We have now eaten two superb dinners there. The food is Italian/Umbrian but the Chef, Daniele, has transformed local cuisine into some wonderfully creative dishes. Our first dinner there, we split an antipasto, the Spinach creme topped with a deep fried egg and truffles. WOW, that was wonderful. We split the citrus-infused risotto dish which was topped with burrata formaggio and pistachios. We both ordered the slow-roasted duck. Now, I have to say, my wife and I have eaten all sorts of duck dishes over the years, and this had to be the best duck we've ever had. It was sublime. Dessert did not disappoint: we ordered 2: a chocolate tort with sesame chips and walnut gelatto; a tiramisu with cat-tongue cookies rather than lady fingers. If you're ever in this part of Italy, do yourselves a favor and eat at Serpillo.

Nestled in the heart of Italy, Carsulae is a captivating archaeological park that invites visitors to step back in time. This expansive site boasts numerous ancient structures, including the impressive Curia and Gemini Temples that overlook the Forum, along with remnants of a Basilica, Theatre, and Amphitheatre. As you wander through this historical treasure trove, you'll also encounter the serene Church of San Damiano.
the place is huge for the price of the ticket (reduced: 4€). while we were visiting there were some archeologists working and it was very interesting to watch them work (we asked in advance if we could take a peek!). it's all an open space so it's best to visit on a sunny day. it was fun to climb over the remains of a roman city and it was overall an interesting experience. it's unfortunately not wheelchair accessible as it's mainly on old roman roads and i believe they're impossible to go over them comfortably with wheels.

Old Roman ruins which are tucked away near San Gemini. A nice area for a walk, can walk there but would recommend the bus to avoid the highway. A hidden gem with friendly staff, fun souvenir shop and a small museum dedicated to the archaeological dig.

It's a nice archilogical parc in which you can easily stay for some hours. We parked at the official parking and had to go there for about 10 minutes. You have to pay in order to visit it. Next to the entrance there are the only toiletts. There is also an app you can download which gives you some information about the Romans and in spezial this place.

Pictoresque ruins, not many tourists, especially in the morning. However, the tables present dry facts and English translation is pretty poor. If you are not a historian, you will not learn much I feel. Also, although the opening hours begin from 8:30, your can buy tickets only from 9:30. You can buy online, but the website is not very good, so we waited for the staff to arrive.

Great initiative yesterday they collaborated with Vega Sky Watching to observe the night sky during the Perseids shower and also had a cool "theater" of the cosmos inside the newly dig area of the ancient Roman amphitheater along with an interesting Yoga sounds performance that emulates the sounds of the cosmos at the nearby ancient complex. Moreover they're finally receiving funds for additional digging an warehouse/museum buildings so there will be a lot more to see starting this autumn. The excellent tour guide who is also one of the archeologists there, showed real excitement and she was very through with the details of course. Keep doing what you're doing and promote the tourism even more, the visit is well deserved.

One of the larger archaeological sites in the area with a lot of potential. Incredible to see almost no visitors at all (visited it twice, twice as good as the only visitors present!) while the infrastructure is present. Could use some maintenance though.

Gorgeous Roman city ruin founded around 219 to 220 bc. Active archeology site. Very untourested but worth the visit. You can walk all over the old city and read the plaques explaining each building. We thought this would have more Roman artifacts than it did based on the website. The woman selling tickets was perfectly pleasant, but this museum had little to offer for the price of the ticket. Plus it was super hot inside—we could barely look around the top two floors because there was no air conditioning. Unimpressive exhibit in a sweltering building.

It turns out in the end that it is at the discretion of those who manage, I find it closed and after complaining first to the pro loco and then on the phone to the museum I discover that the route consists of about 1.30 and that I would not have been able to visit anything given the time close to closing. I believe that a visitor inclined to see the beauties of Umbria is discouraged to the detriment of those who carry out a praiseworthy promotion. Their main dishes feature mouthwatering options like stringozzi with artichoke and guanciale, veal stew, roasted vegetables, steak, and stringozzi with mushroom & sausage. The cozy atmosphere is enhanced by a crackling fireplace while enjoying their reasonably priced house wine.
Great food and service! The mixed antipasti was delicious: beyond the classic mix of hams and cheese, the bruschette and frittata were wonderful. We had a a chickpeas and spinach soup, and stringozzi with artichoke and guanciale: yummy! Service was fine, the fireplace was popping, and the house wine went down well. Prices were very reasonable.

(Translated by Google) Near Piazza Silvestri in Bevagna (PG), there is a delightful place, which opens onto a corner of the internal garden, where you can have lunch among the flowers. The place is all made of stone and actually resembles a cave, it has a beautiful fireplace, hanging ceramics and tavern tables. Very welcoming. Here a typical Umbrian cuisine is offered, the platters with cured meats, cold cuts and cheeses are accompanied by the typical Easter bread/cheese cake, absolutely worth trying. We followed this with a very fragrant first course with asparagus and burns and a sliced meat with salt and rosemary. Each dish divided in half was well accompanied by a Grechetto from Fattoria Milziade Antano. Go there, you won't be disappointed. Il Lavandeto di Assisi is a farm located in the countryside below the city of Assisi, specifically in Castelnuovo di Assisi. The farm offers a natural park with beautiful landscapes and a variety of plants including lavender and lavandin. Customers have praised the owner for their kindness and expertise in helping them choose suitable plant varieties for their area. The plants are described as healthy, vigorous, and well-packaged for shipping.
Right now the entrance is free because it is part of the lavender fest weekends for the whole month of June. I so enjoyed the fields and the gardens so I stayed so much longer than I projected! It was so relaxing to sit down under the weeping willow to feel the breeze and gaze at the view of Assisi beyond the rows of lavender. The lavender infused gelato was really nice especially during the hot weather. 😍

Impressive plants and impressive gardening company. To be recommended to everyone. We live 3.5 hours north so hope to visit next year. Bravi a tutti e auguri per 2024.

(Translated by Google) I can only confirm and share this review: It is not just a lavender cultivation, but a beautiful garden of sage, perennials and aquatic plants! Already entering the small door immersed in the vegetation, you can feel the energy of a place designed, cared for with love and dedication by the owners! With an entrance fee of €5 (at the exit you are given a bunch of lavender) you can relax and walk among these beautiful lavender fields.. and in addition there are stalls to buy lavender-based products (not exactly cheap but whatever) and also street food to stop and enjoy a good lunch! There is also a toilet!! It is worth a visit!

I wasn't allowed to visit the lavender field, even though I'd walked over two hours from Assisi just to see it. The road to get there is completely destroyed and in disrepair and needs to be completely redone. It's very dangerous and full of insects. Plus, the lavender fields weren't in bloom. It's a real shame that just a few minutes late meant I wasn't allowed to see anything. After the walk, then... merciless. The Palazzo Comunale, a magnificent historical structure located in the heart of Foligno, was constructed during the 13th century and serves as the city hall. In line with Romanesque traditions adopted for its construction, the Duomo is an integral part of this complex.
(Translated by Google) Earthquakes... This 13th-century palace stands out prominently in the central Piazza della Repubblica, although its initial reconstruction took place between the 16th and 17th centuries, when it was enlarged to include the former Palazzo dei Priori and Palazzo del Capitano. It was rebuilt several times due to earthquakes, so much so that in the 1997 earthquake the lantern, also known as the torrino, the tower that tops the Palazzo Comunale, collapsed. It was restored after 10 years, and the columns surmounting a series of arches support the base on which the lantern then rises. (Original) I terremoti...

The ambiance is both elegant and inviting, enhanced by contemporary decor and sparkling chandeliers that complement the historical setting.
Outstanding experience. I chose this place for my husband’s love of history and the Roman ruins below the clear flooring of the restaurant. Ruins are also displayed in the restaurant from the excavation of the site. The staff were amazingly friendly and being that we were the first there, gave us a tour below the floor explaining the site. The restaurant itself is a charming juxtaposition of modern and old. This small, traditional-style restaurant with bare stone walls has many fans for its classic Umbrian dishes and local wines. It's a great place to try all the Umbrische classics - simple but full of flavor.
Great dinner at Locanda del Podestà! Favorites were the Strangozzi alla Norcina, lamb, and tagliata. Super friendly waiter! Thank you, we had a great meal!

Not sure why this place is so highly rated. Pasta seemed like it was from the box and overcooked. The Pasta Alla Norcina was pretty sub-par: the sauce was scarce and not creamy, and the "sausage" really tasted like unseasoned ground beef. Every time someone I know has tried to make Norcina at home, it has turned out much better than this. On the plus side: beautiful setting, and nice location in the city, and friendly staff. Overall, the appetizers were better than the mains. One of the specials was good, as well as the Limoncello.

Truly an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere, the staff, and above all the food was out of this world. Their truffle specialities were one of a kind, the wine was impeccable, and the staff were all super friendly. Not your typical tourist restaurant by any means. I can't recommend this place enough!

We do not have lunch here even we think this is one of the best restaurant in Assisi . We did really intend n plan to have nice lunch here. But the reception of customers so bad that we have to look for another place. We come to church in Assisi, may be this is the test of our humble but eventually we fail the test. The restaurant almost empty w few tables. We wait at the door or restaurant entrance for 10 minutes n staff inside saw us but just keep looking at us n not telling us to wait or explain the system. The couple before us also waiting in line n we have to walk in to ask them are they seeing us or they think we just looking at the menu. When we ask them that waiting is what they want us to do . They ask us to wait another 15 minutes. We decide to go to another restaurant eventually. At least they should have the courtesy to tell us that they know we waiting. Anyway we lost the test today.

Best meal I had in Italy! I stumbled across this restaurant while wandering the backstreets of Assisi one day in late April 2022. The waiter was friendly and the food was amazing!

I started with the gnocchi with truffle and it's some of the best gnocchi I have ever had! Get the gnocchi! I then got the sliced steak with truffle and it was ok. I would highly recommend this place.

I would eat here every day of the week if possible. Wonderful atmosphere and even better food.
