Peaceful woodland park, with a small lake, lots if forest trails to explore, fish & ducks along with a small amphitheater and some statues dotted around. Located nearby the university campus. Busy on the weekends with families and students. Wonderful spot with fresh air and greenery.

In my opinion this is the best part of Debrecen. In one park you have everything you can imagine- aqua park, shops, restaurants, tower, zoo and university. Picturesque park to walk around with a pond that has amazing fishes and turtles. Access is easy but not so much parking. We were lucky to find a place to park in the underground parking garage.

Such an amazing park! Landscaped to perfection and very well looked after! It was nice having a stroll around, but many people and locals were also sitting on benches and on the grass. In fact, there were so many people just on a mid-of-week spring late afternoon. Would definitely recommend a walk in the area when in Debrecen.

Perfect park I have seen. It's like an matryoshka, one park within the other, side by the forest and closer to the university! Relaxing & enjoying the sunshine, watching the fishes, ducks and fountains! It's also a park near the concert place!

If you visit Debrecen you must visit this park. It's just beautiful, calm, relaxing but full of People. You can go during the morning or during the night, it's alawasy beautiful! The most beautiful part of Debrecen is that it's full of nature, from the airport till this beautiful park. Enjoy!

An amazing park!!! It is a beautiful park, wide, a lot of branches and magical corners, flowers, ducks and of course the forest itself! A cute wooden playground and a place for coffee and snacks!!!

Unfortunately this place stood in time from like 2015.. there is no maintenance, lots of doors and things are broken, the restaurant is a joke, the coffee was literally some awful water. The bathrooms are very very dirty!!! The pools are dirty, they don’t really clean the floors neither. Also, many jacuzzis, showers and stuff was not working. At least they have nice plants! Its really a kids place or some rehabilitation place, nothing in between. Don’t pay for the sauna’s, its in the basement, super small places full of people and disgusting arrangements!!! And of course the real sauna places are not included in the already paid sauna world?!? Come on! Never coming back here.

A wonderful place to relax and warm up in the thermal pools during winter, when it’s snowy and freezing outside. It’s a cozy and peaceful spot where everything feels calm and pleasant. There are many different baths and pools, as well as a small water park, jacuzzi, and more.

This place is quite good however there are some bad thins about it. We had to wait over an hour to pay and get in the aquapark. Changing rooms and lockers were good. Had hairdryers and showers but there floor everywhere has mysterious spots of different things. Inside it was great. All slides were working pretty safe as long as you dont run. One of the pools had waves sometimes go off. Food was a total nightmare. We have to stand in a long line for over 30 minutes. Probably way over an hour and by the time we got our food, it was still hot surprisingly. All workers were super kind. Overall not too bad but would make some improvements.

Hungarian restaurant with in a refurbished older building. They made it nice, but still and older building. When you travel here you should do it because of the wonderful hot spa and water they have in house Very nice kids area with a lot of possibilities for families with smaller children up to teens, also a nice comfortable bar area with very price worthy cocktails and drinks for the parents.

Excellent spa/aqua park, it has dozens of pools and water slides suitable for all ages: babies, kids, teens, adults, elderly, everyone. Extremely family friendly. Includes a restaurant inside so you can easily spend the whole day inside the aqua park without needing anything else. Has a lot of sunbeds everywhere. A lot of the pools have warm water (30-36c), the jacuzzies hot water (38c).

Beautiful and renovated swimming pool in Debrecen. We paid approx. 43€ per family per day for the outdoor and indoor swimming pool. There are plenty of snacks at affordable prices. We will definitely return there with the children. There is also underground parking 400ft/hour.

Nothing special inside the church. The best was Rakoczi bell and the view from the church tower. It seems not to be very popular, but I think it is nice to see it especially if you aren't protestant.

I have to say, it is very pretty from the outside, this iconic church is worth visiting, I went inside and went all the way up and I really liked it, there is an elevator for you to go up, but there's also stair, I wouldn't recommend them, friend and I decided to use those and regretted the entire time, just because they are pretty old and narrow, still, we had so much fun, and the views are amazing. Also, the staff was really nice and gave us a couple of instructions for us to see the entire thing. I have to mention, it is not free to visit the inside, but I can't remember how much it was, but I thing it wasn't really expensive and they accepted both cash and card.

For HUF 1200 entry you get to explore the church and take a lift up to a panoramic view of the city from the roof between the towers. Recommend taking lift up and stairs down. Check out the space above the ceiling. Something you don't often get to do.

Great cathedral with a panoramic view of the city up in the tower. Entrance is paid but good value for money, takes at least half an hour to explore and enjoy to the fullest. Built at the beginning of the 19th century it's not that old but it's the most important cathedral for Reformed Magyars, the Counter-Reformation couldn't bring this community down and neither could the Communists

This place is located at the top of the main central promenade running through the city and is therefore the dominating feature. Unfortunately due to a musical event I wasn't able to go inside, however I took some nice exterior video and photos.

I was on holiday with my family and we visited this famous carneval what have been placed every year to celebrate of State Foundation Day.We really enjoyed a lot of entertainment and flower car.I highly recommend to everyone if you want to see something special.

The top most floor enables an all round view of the city centre from the terrace. It's got some really interesting pieces of art inside.. There's an entrance fee for tourists. It's a highlight for the beautiful city that's Debrecen.

I‘m really scared from this place! Payment not possible due to high amount of customers, even with kids which wants to go home we should wait half an hour to pay. Luckily some friends take the bill as the service don’t want to let me pay immediately! Bad Service, not stress resistant! Never ever this place!

One of the best dinner I have eaten. Big meals for affordable price. Quality food, very kind staff, and delicious!!! We ordered twice Onion soup which was the star of the dinner. The dessert was poppy dumplings in vanilla souce, one of the best desserts in Debrecen! Thank you!! For sure I'll come back if I visit Debrecen again.

Very delicious. Warm place. We were pleasantly surprised. I didn't make many photos, still meat dishes and drinks were beautiful in all senses. A dessert excited my picky daughter, it melt in her mouth. Reccommend )

I lived in Debrecen for a year, and used to eat there a lot! There's not the best restaurant in the city, but has a good price, a great location, and has a menu with several options. Also, they're open for lunch and dinner :)

I tried a goulash soup. The soup taste was not good at all, the bread was stale, and the price was expensive than QR menu. The worst food I’ve ever tried in Hungary.

Never eat here! I ordered a red wine beef stew and it was my worst food experience ever. The beef was way too fatty without red wine sauce! I couldn’t eat it and it gave me a huge stomach ache . The Service was nice at least.

What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get at the table which is amazing. 😌 We enjoyed the food in a central location of Debrecen. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimps, 🥓🍤🍤🥗very tasty but I would recommend giving up the mayonnaise sauce on the lettuce, for my taste it was quite heavy and maybe some lemon would be fresher. 😊 Highly recommend the lemonade, it’s good and fresh. I would go back If I ever visit Hungary again. 💛

Service was beautiful very kind and helpful however the food that we ordered was a fish and fruiti di mare for 4 but the portion that they served us was no where near what we expected and was maybe enough for a 2 person entré. 6 prawns, 1 tiny Branzio fillet, 1 Salmon steak and just a few grilled squid, which I'd no where near enough for 4 people.

Excellent food, everything was very tasty. They have a huge selection of local and international wines. I came here a couple of times and was never disappointed. Tried the shrimps, Mediterranean chicken and the pork tenderloin. Crème brûlée had a big layer of caramel and light vanilla cream. It’s my favorite restaurant in Debrecen!

This place has some of the best Italian food I've ever had! And to top it all off, the wait staff is very kind and helpful. If you have a craving for Italian food this needs to be at the top of your list while visiting Debrecen.

High quality food and the service is excellent. Although, I rated with 4 starts because it is expensive and they will charge you an excessive 12% tip (it is mentioned in the menu). Also, atmosphere should be calmer in my opinion.

A beautiful hotel in the middle of a small forest/garden. The place is fairly quiet and the staff are more than ok, as you can see, I was given some sweets on top of my pillows 😊 Reliable wifi, many choices for breakfast and free parking! My main issue with the hotel was that it had way too many mosquitoes in there!! Just in the room itself I've killed 6 or 7 of them. When I suggested "put on nets" The response was along the lines of "we're in the forest so that's ok"

Amazing local food with good prices and a lovely atmosphere. The drinks selection was also wide, also with very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend a walk around the park and coming to eat afterwards. I had the catfish stew with dumplings and the sweet cheese pancakes, which were both delicious. Delightful restaurant.

Great atmosphere and really good food overall. Most of the time, the staff is fine, but we did have a hiccup when they forgot to bring my wife's soup—we had to ask about it, and by the time it came, mine had already gone cold. Still, a nice place with potential for better service consistency.

Hands down the best restaurant experience I’ve had in Hungary. The food was absolutely amazing, everything was according to my taste, and the portions were big but not too big (unlike other Hungarian restaurants). The staff was nice and they gave us enough space to enjoy our meal and have conversations. I can only recommend it, and I will 100% be back!

Small but clean and elegant. It has a great Aldi shop, Pepco and other nice shops. In the Christmas, there's a lot of people selling souvenirs and handicrafts. In general, it's good.

Really impressed by the ongoing renovations—since the remodeling, the place feels much more alive and modern. The shops are generally okay, though a few seem a bit out of place. The fixed parking fee regardless of time is a bit annoying, but you can get the first hour free if you shop at Aldi or go to the cinema, which is a nice touch.

This is a nice plaza situated in the center of the city, you can find a lot of things in there such as cinema, bank, aldi grocery and other clothing and phone shops in it. Nice plaza to shop in.!

Most of the European brands are available. Affordable and good quality.

If the cinema is busy you cannot get out from parking, when you reach the gate you have to go back to automat to pay additional fax because you did not left the parking after initial payment. The toilets is also paied..

The only place we found Nespresso capsules, on Saturday late afternoon.

Although relatively small, this museum is a gem. Here you can see beautiful paintings, old prehistoric artifacts, Japanese art, old traditional Hungarian objects, different biological exponents and so on.

Some very interesting exhibits with nice touch of the floors and walls modelled according to the theme. Didn't take many photos because security guard stayed 2 metres away in most interesting exhibit. Beautiful grounds and building.

I don't know why but I imagined this museum would be a little below par...how wrong was I?! It's a brilliant little museum! The exhibits are really well displayed and offer good descriptions that are not too long so they don't become laborious to read and follow. Adult entrance fee was 2800HUF which is approximately €7.50. Well worth it for a few hours spent here

This is the "must see" museum if you're visiting this city. No only a beautiful building but an interesting assembly of both works of art and ancient cultural artifacts. This place exists thanks to the beneficence of Frigyes Deri who in 1920 donated his lifelong collection to the State. The museum exhibits his particular interest of Egyptian, Samuri and 15th to 18th Century Christian European artefacts. The paintings are organised into groups reflecting common characteristics; Portraits, Landscapes, Still Life. I found the supplementary exhibition regarding Hungarian ancient beliefs concerning death, burial and the afterlife particularly interesting. It's displayed in a darkened room with gentle mystic music playing in the background. Perhaps the good weather had deterred people from spending time inside. It was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. Lovely exhibition and fantastic value at 900 huf for pensioner.

I love it so much😍 I can upload more pictures, but no go and discover its beauty by yourselves. What I liked more is the Ancient Egyptian civilization part. We studied this civilization at the University, so it is nice to see what aspects we studied in real life🥰 agents and workers there are super nice to international students and they speak English Thank you❤

Strongly suggest to come and visit this restaurant if you are from abroad (or even from other part of Hungary) and fancy some real Hungarian cuisine. Food is always delicious, service is fantastic, portions are massive, atmosphere is one of a kind! There is a reason why everybody who lives in Debrecen knows and loves this place. Strongly advise to book a table a couple of days before the visit especially if you are planning to do it over the weekend.

Good food , rude waiter I always came to the restaurant and the vibes was good However last night , it was the last time i visit this place The waiter (the one with ponytail haircut)who was taking care of me was rude and not professional at all He looked overwhelmed even the restaurant wasn’t busy I asked for coca cola , it took him 10 mins to bring it When i wanted to pay , i went to him And he told me off to go back to sit , he was very rude I will never come to this place again

The food is delicious! Somloi galuska is not that good, but the cheese cake and the chocolate mousse are amazing! The interior design is impressive as it creates a really interesting atmosphere.

I had a dinner with my girlfriend there, the food was okay, both of us liked it, but the dessert was a big disappointment, because it wasn’t a cheesecake I felt a lot more like a mascarpone. The waiter was nice and kind, but nothing special. I would recommend to everyone.

Traditional meets modern. The place is like a vine cell with modern fitting and food is Hungarian with a modern twist. Amazing dishes, highly recommended. I tried the pig cheek stew and somlói (dessert), both were fantastic. The service is great, the staff are nice.

I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. The food is fantastic, prepared with top-notch ingredients, and the portion sizes are perfect after a day of sightseeing. You will find an excellent selection of soups and meat dishes, ranging from fish and chicken to beef and pork. Despite the generous portions, each dish remains flavorful and delightful. The staff is incredibly professional and welcoming, which enhances the overall dining experience. We will definitely make a return visit the next time I'm in town.

My room was great. The mattress was a little too soft for my taste and the lack of a shower curtain was a bother, but regardless, it was a pleasant experience. The free access to the wellness center was a fortunate surprise. The breakfast had great variety. Would recommend.

Chose this hotel for the wellness facilities that were included in the price of a standard room. Went there with my wife and our toddler. At the hotel saw we don't have slippers; found out we have to pay for them. I don't think is is clearly described on booking.com, the emphasis is on the 'free wellness'. Called the reception and asked for slippers, we were told we have to go to the reception to collect them... Bought the slippers and went to the wellness area. Our room was at the 2nd floor, the wellness area at the 3rd floor. The elevator on that side of the hotel was out of order, therefore had to use the stairs. Wearing only the bathing suits, robes and the slippers. Which is not ok, after bathing, for a toddler. There were 2 saunas within the wellness area - one was out of order, the other one was reserved for a "ceremony" until 7pm. When coming back from the wellness area, we saw our neighbors from two nearby rooms are quite noisy. Went out for dinner and when came back the noise was even worse. The kid had to sleep, so went to the reception and found out there was a private party in the hotel and those guests from the two nearby rooms are probably attending the party. We asked to get another room, without having to move our things that evening and they accepted - this is the only positive aspect here. But, why would you put the private party guests nearby a room with a toddler in the first place?! The new room had slippers and toiletries (which were missing from the initial room as well). Initial thought was this might not be a standard room, but a better one. When checking out we were told the rooms were the same price and type. So, why asking money for the slippers then?! To conclude - no sauna, no elevator, no slippers, no silence, not coming back. PS breakfast was modest.

A decent and clean hotel with a buffet breakfast and dinner option. The room we stayed at is spacious, bright and the colours of the bedroom accessories are lovely and well fitting together in harmony, giving you a cosy feeling. The bed is a king size bed and super comfy. The air con was much appreciated and had no problems with it’s working conditions. The standard rooms don’t come with a balcony, but even though we haven’t had the best of views, there was a little table with a couple chairs outside our room. They have a swimming pool/wellness area although not too big, but it is quite refreshing. Although we only stayed a couple nights, they changed our towels without us asking for it, tidied our bed and emptied and sanitized our bins as well. The TV was not in working condition, but we didn’t want to use it anyway. There’s a nice big desk in the room which allows two people to sit there if they wish to do so. The bathroom is also quite spacious, there is a provision of hand soap via a dispenser and same goes for the shower gel. The breakfast is generous, there’s a machine for soft drinks and coffee as well bottled sparkling and still water available. The reception staff is polite, however we had to wait more than 15 minutes at the time of checking out to be attended to. Altogether it is quite a good value for money.

The shower drain does not drain water. Experience the water park. There are shower curtains, but you couldn't stop the water park. ㅋㅋ The drain is very old and outdated. Swimming facilities were not good. The water temperature is not set. When we first checked in, they said that parking was free and that it was included in the hotel price, but we paid the parking fee when we checked out. Breakfast is not fresh and service is slow. It is not a 4 star hotel. Cheap amenities. i saw A cheap shampoo bottle. diluted in water; Worst 4 star hotel in Hungary.

Very nice hotel, very good value for money! Was very pleasantly surprised how much they took care of health and safety in these times. Even at the breakfast they payed attention to serve you instead of letting everyone breath and touch all the foods. The wellness part is quite good, the rooms are very clean and big with a huge bed. The reception was extremely nice and very accommodating. Was the nicest hotel experience I had in a long time.

Great experience, we were there during covid and hotel definitely that extreme caution for their guests. Room was clean and quiet. Wellness was nice but we did not use full facilities. It was great size of swimming pool with little area to sun tan. breakfast was great too. Varieties of choices to choose from.

The room was oki, with a spacious desk. The single beds was for me kind of hard, but I prefer softer beds. I missed something sweet in the mini-bar, but was way too much vodka instead. Rooms was clean even if was show of use and some things that should have been taken care of. Staff was indifferent to the point of being unfriendly. I will not stay there again.

The food is delicious. The prices are reasonable because it's a good amount of French fries and the hamburgers has a big size and their meat is really tasty. The staff speaks little English but it's enough to communicate. Undoubtedly, I will come back to try another hamburger!

Very unfriendly workers! Food is good, fastly made and prices are average but it was impossible to enjoy since the worker opened the door and didn't allow us to close it in a rude way when we got cold. Had to stay in coat what made dinner worse. If you stay inside be ready to sit in a place with almost no space and uncomfortable chairs. Toilette wasn't that clean as well.

Best burgers in town. Souvlaki is also very good. You cannot beat the prices.

I just dined at the restaurant. After I placed my order, I noticed that I have been charged more than the rates in the price list. i thought they took my order wrong because the receipt was not itemised. Therefore, I asked for the reason and I have been told that prices are not updated in the list. They haven't even apologised for the inconvenience. I call this simply "theft". I will never come to this place again. I found them extremely impolite and this is definitely not acceptable. The food was okay tho.

I visited IKON restaurant in Debrecen couple months ago, invited by a friend. The restaurant was quite empty during our visit. The interior was a bit disappointing. The design felt dull and didn’t create the kind of atmosphere I would expect from a higher-end restaurant. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it definitely didn’t match the standard I had hoped for. The food was decent but not exceptional. I don’t remember exactly what I ordered, but the dishes were a bit oily and not to my taste. The dessert, however, was a highlight— the chocolate cake was really good and the best part of the meal. Overall, the experience didn’t meet my expectations, and I’m unlikely to return based on this visit. While the food and ambiance were okay, they didn’t quite stand out.

Good place but maybe it takes time for my colleague and myself to make decision about what to eat, so the waitress is not that patient. The food is okay but with small portions of lamb.

Their cheapest wine (indigo szekszard zweigelt) was very nice. The free appetizer (homemade bread and truffle butter) was nice too. The catfish with mushroom paprikash and gnocchi was great too, the mushrooms were the highlight, but the catfish was nice too. The Mont Blanc desert was beautiful and a good choice, chestnut based but many flavors.

The food wasn’t bad but everything about the restaurant was underwhelming. The food and the atmosphere. This place didn’t meet my expectations. I do not recommend the duck liver.

At Ikon, the culinary experience was outstanding. We delved into their new menu and were thoroughly impressed. Starting with the salmon appetizer, moving onto the flavorful pork main, and concluding with the delectable cheese dumplings—it was a taste sensation. Meanwhile, my partner savored the lamb shank, followed by a divine chocolate fondant. While reminiscing about previous visits, we did miss the duck liver from the menu. Initially, the service stumbled as we were seated in the back, making it difficult to request bread and water. Moreover, there was a charge for bread, which hadn't been the case before. However, we kindly brought these issues to their attention, and to their credit, they swiftly rectified the situation. It's always gratifying to see a business respond positively to feedback, and Ikon certainly did. Five stars for their exceptional cuisine and commendable service recovery.

I was there last week, and I've been there before as well. Both times I visited, the place was really quiet. I don’t like the interior of the place; in my opinion, it's just not nice, although the staff were friendly. However, I do appreciate the quality of the food, which you can rarely find in Debrecen.

What a disappointment. Such a neat place with fantastic service, everything about this restaurant states quality at first. The starters are exquisite, ao are the desserts, but the main courses are nothing short of embarrassing. There is a huge dissonance between the different stages of the meal, as the first dishes and the desserts are absolutely brilliant but the main dishes that we ordered were comprised of over-cooked pasta that seemed as if a child prepared it (basic tomato sauce, 4 boiled shrimps as if straight from the supermarket) and a bulgur garnish that I simply cannot explain how distasteful it was - nothing about it was pleasant to one's palate. Won't come back, simply does not worth the high prices.
