Historical landmark
Bridge
The Roman Bridge in Cangas de Onis is a stunning testament to medieval architecture, dating back to the late 13th century. This centuries-old arch bridge gracefully spans the Sellar River and stands as one of Asturias' most iconic symbols. Visitors can enjoy picturesque walks across its length while taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Very pretty bridge over a scenic river. Cangas d'Onis itself is a pretty town - set up for tourism, but not over touristy. Well worth a stop if you are in the area.
Martin B — Google review
Beautifully restored Roman Bridge. There is a beautiful garden and lots of restaurants very close by to rest and admire the bridge.
Carin K — Google review
Very nice place for visiting. Recommend.

Lovely town and bridge is stunning !! Defo worth a visit.. part of the Picos Triangle..
David M — Google review
Really nice bridge, recommended to visit while walking through the city
Fabio B — Google review
You only need 10 to 15 minutes to visit and it will take you longer to park your car. The bridge is large and the surface is uneven rounded stones. Due to that and the steepness of incline some may have difficulty ascending. Still a great old bridge.
Sam B — Google review
Worth to see, the bridge is authentic roman structure.

Pre-breathtaking with a bunch of little restaurants and their terraces overlooking it. People swimming on the river below, which had completely transparent waters

Tourist information center
The Tourist Office Cangas de Onis is a helpful place to gather information about visits to the lakes and the Virgin of Covadonga. Visitors have praised the friendly and knowledgeable staff who provide good recommendations for exploring the area. The office features a map with buttons that light up LEDs, which children find fascinating. Some visitors have suggested adding a public toilet to accommodate the high number of tourists in the area.
Delightful hotel, incongruous breakfast dining area felt subterranean and 70's style ceiling, but good food...
Quentin S — Google review
Sooo helpful, extremely friendly stuff. Most of the staff speaks english and they‘re all willing to help. Helped us with booking a 2 days tour to one of the refugios and even let us leave out stuff there over night. Haven‘t had any luck with tourist offices around Asturias concerning the Picos, this one is worth the visit!
Mia B — Google review
Friendly lady gave us good advice about how to spend the day around Cangas de Onis.
Casper K — Google review
The assistant was miserable and unhelpful. They made no attempt to suggest tourist attractions in the area. They only gave curt answers to questions with no effort to elaborate. They were audibly groaning as we were leaving the office.

Hiking area
Peaceful and easy route. Calming river sounds all the way. Loved it
Katerina P — Google review
Worth a visit, for sure, but don't get your hopes up for a peaceful swim at the "beach" if you go in summer. It's a lovely spot that's of course ruined in the high season by masses of people who leave behind rubbish, toilet paper, and dirty nappies. You're better off stopping for a swim along the way to the beach (there are at least 3 other suitable and quieter places, including underneath the bridge itself). Parking is limited to about 15 cars, so either go early or park at one of the nearby restaurants and buy at least a coffee for good karma. Once parked, it's about 2.5kms each way. Make sure to wear good walking shoes and take your rubbish with you.
M A — Google review
The hike begins on a wide dirt road and continues onto a narrow path with protruding, smooth stones, be careful not to slip. During the route we met a man who fell and injured his knee, fortunately for him, it was a minor injury because rescue could have been difficult. The stream creates a natural pool with snowmelt water, which is excessively cold even in mid-August. On the way to the pool there are many places to get to the water. I went to up to the pool and back, apparently the trail continues further more.
Y Y — Google review
Stunning scenery. You can walk among the mountains, parking along the road somewhere. We went across the metal bridge and walked for about fifteen minutes to a paddling area. Very peaceful
Natalie F — Google review
Some parts of this trail are tricky with slippery rocks instead of a path. In high summer season, it’s packed with people specially at the end at the small beach. Worth stopping half-way through for a swim.
Gonzalo B — Google review
A beautiful 5-6 km round trip hike along the river. At the end, we are rewarded with a small pool of clear water where we can swim. Be careful as the path is narrow, rocky and sometimes very slippery (even when it is not raining), so wear good shoes and make sure you have a good sense of balance.
Elena R — Google review
Beautiful swimming spot up a long trail. The path is quite uneven so wear good footwear!
Thom B — Google review
Relatively easy hike out and back for a great payoff

Hotel Santa Cruz

Hotel
Hotel Santa Cruz is a charming property located in a great area, offering well-designed rooms and a sophisticated restaurant with a bar. The hotel provides reasonable prices and excellent breakfast options. Guests have praised the friendly staff and modern facilities, including comfortable rooms with good showers. Despite some minor issues like small room sizes and hard pillows, the overall experience is positive due to its convenient location, value for money, and peaceful atmosphere that allows for restful sleep.
Very comfortable and charming hotel. Clean, silent, relaxing with good receptionists. The location in the city center.
Katya D — Google review
Really overpriced for a very basic hotel. 'Mountain view' room has a view onto a public park and swimming pool without any actual mountains as advertised. Air conditioner despite being turned off kept making a very loud noise every 10-20mins making it impossible to sleep. Room not clean (hairs on the bed etc) and small, towels had holes. Breakfast an extra 10eur per person despite the already exorbitant price. No parking available either - we were told that there would be ample street parking but actually had to park a fair bit away and was quite difficult to find. We complained about the above, especially the air conditioner, and were given a very small compensation by management only; even with that it was still way more expensive than much much better places we stayed in other towns in Northern Spain and Picos de Europa region. The price is absurd compared to the rest of Spain. Strongly recommend staying elsewhere
N L — Google review
This was a very fortunate “find”! We selected the hotel mainly because it was close to the bus station - but it turned out to be an excellent choice - overall, outstanding value. It is, indeed, an easy walk from the bus station, largely pedestrianised, with an easy ramp where there are a few steps up to the riverside. It’s located on a quiet road, but only a short walk from the middle of the town, or from the Roman Bridge. We opted for a “mountain view” room. As others’ have noted, the views aren’t greatly better than from the other side of the hotel (although it was very attractive both with morning mist hanging over the river and at sunset on a fairly clear evening) - but the rooms and the bed are larger, so well worth the extra, in our opinion, especially when booking early enough to get a good, “breakfast included” price. And it was the breakfast that crowned a generally excellent visit; easily the best we encountered, for both quality and value, during our month in Spain. It provided an extensive buffet, including hot bacon and fried eggs (with the eggs cooked in small batches so you were guaranteed a freshly-cooked one), with a reasonable selection of breads and excellent selections of meats, cheeses, cakes and pastries, plus the usual juices, spreads, etc., with as much coffee or tea as you want. It also has the largest selection of condiments I’ve encountered anywhere - I suspect you’d need a week to sample them all. Finally, the hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and reception open well into the evening. We had three great nights here, and I hope we manage enough future trips to Spain to get to stay here again!
George H — Google review
This rural hotel is located just meters from the main road in Cangas de Onís. The women at the front desks were fantastic! Very gentle and welcoming, they offered us a variety of options to do while in town. The price is fair and room is comfy. I would go back to the same hotel.
Julio C — Google review
A very pleasant hotel with reasonable prices, in a great location. The breakfast (€9) was very good and reasonably priced for the variety. The staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming. The room was quite small, but well laid out and functional. Unfortunately, I'm taking away 1 star for a very simple thing - the pillows were very hard and uncomfortable, which would easily be fixed by a trip to IKEA, so it's hard to understand why they get so much right, and such a simple thing wrong.
Dave C — Google review
We were a group of 10 motorcyclists with 10 bikes. We travelled 3 1/2 hours mostly mountain roads to Cangis de Onis after arriving at 13.00 in Bilbao from Rosslare. Parking was on the street right opposite the hotel and they were perfectly safe there. Hotel is modern, with a lift and the rooms were comfortable with a very good shower. Prices represent great value, dinner was good and the price included wine, the breakfast was excellent with a wide range of items buffet style. Ideal for bikers and recommended.

The Dolmen and Church of the True Cross of Cangas de Onís is a small but fascinating site that can be easily included as part of a leisurely town walk. The church, with its rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, was rebuilt after being destroyed in the Civil War. It stands on top of a dolmen from the 700s, which can be viewed through a hole in the basement floor.
Interesting but tiny, its not a long visit, I would sugges visit as part of a town walk. Lots of information on the walls about the history but all in Spanish & mobile signal for translations too weak. Read more in the evening back at the hotel. Its in a major tourist town so lack of some information in english a surprise.

Mesón Puente Romano is a charming restaurant located in an amazing spot right under the Roman bridge. It offers standard food and drink options, making it a lovely stop for travelers exploring the Picos de Europa. The outdoor area provides a beautiful setting to enjoy a meal or drinks. Although there is a 10 card minimum for payment, the friendly service and pretty good food make it worth visiting. However, it's important to note that they do not serve cider by the glass.
We got two coffees with some cookies. We sit outside and it was a perfect environment.

Wow what a place! Perfect place to have lunch/dinner. Next to the old roman bridge. Food and service excellent. Also for a very good price.
Stefan — Google review
This is always a favorite when we visit the area. Situated next to the Sella river in the shadow of the 13th century Roman bridge, this place is a culinary staple of Cangas de Onís. The setting is so beautiful and serene. The food is always delicious; personally I enjoy the entrecot and cheese platter. Also, the desserts are wonderful. The grandma cake (tarta de la abuela) and cheesecake are a few favorites. Like always, the staff is exceptionally kind and friendly. Overall, this is a great place with good food and friendly staff. You can’t beat the hospitality of this area. Enjoy.

Cool location right on the river and dog-friendly. Food seems to be a bit hit and miss. On a recent visit a third of the grilled sardines were close to raw and bloody. When we told and showed the waiter as we asked for the bill, he acknowledged the problem but left it at that. Maybe we should have complained earlier, but even so he could have offered a complimentary coffee or something like it to make us feel better.
Barbara C — Google review
I ordered a very tasty fabada which is a bean and sausage stew very local in Asturias. Unfortunately there were larvaes in the sausage.. I know its not the failure of the restaurant but they managed it very badly.

Amazing location with an outdoor area right under the Roman bridge, standard food and drink options. €10 card minimum though, and they don't serve cider by the glass

I ordered the waiter's soup and water with ice and lemon. After 15 minutes he brought water and a flat plate with a knife and fork. I asked him if I should eat the soup with a fork. He made a silly face and disappeared into the kitchen. After another 10 minutes another waiter arrived and exchanged cutlery and plates. After another ten minutes another waiter came and said that the soup was over and he wanted to squeeze me in and some other dishes. I was hungry and angry. I have never met such a non-competent and slow support before. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Stay away from him

Restaurante El Molín de la Pedrera is a charming spot in Cangas de Onis, offering a modern twist on traditional Asturian cuisine. Visitors praise the warm and friendly service, particularly highlighting Angel, one of the owners, for his attentive and informative approach. The dining experience is described as exceptional with great food and a lively atmosphere.
We've been coming to Asturias for four years now. You can find some of the best restaurants in Spain here, but this one was a big and pleasant surprise. The food was amazing, I had one of the best seafood tapa in my life and the best Rabo de Toro in Spain. The staff is super friendly and professional, the restaurant has a nice and rustic design. I hope they get noticed by Repsol and Michelin guides.

A fantastic place! We stopped by here after a trip to Covadonga and the food absolutely did not disappoint. They had a wagyu steak option on their menu of the day & it was stunning, I'm still thinking of it weeks later! The cheesecake is a must-try for dessert, however, don't be deceived by its size! It's incredibly dense and I needed my partner to help finish the slice. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and added a much welcome personal touch to our experience. He spoke excellent English and he really made our meal so enjoyable! I absolutely recommend this authentic gem if you're in town.
James F — Google review
The most amazing find in the small town of Cangas! One of our favorite meals of our Spain trip. The owner really made the experience special. It’s obviously a family-run place, and so the service can be a little slow when they’re overwhelmed, but it’s absolutely worth it to be somewhere where they really care to make you happy. The food was fantastic too! Some delicious, creative ways to highlight Asturian cuisine, from the local cheeses, to the eggplant, to the fabada stew, to the goat and oxtail. I would come here all the time if I lived nearby!

One of the top two culinary experiences in town. Traditional dishes in Asturias are awesome but if you have been there for a while and want to try something different, this is your place. Here tradition meets innovation and the result is splendid. Make sure you reserve some space in your belly for the desserts.

A delicious lunch with dishes based on traditional Asturian ingredients. The food was unique, well prepared, high quality and exceptionally flavorful. The kitchen is local Astyrian food with fine dining touch, and as the hist told us- the place is family owned and all the infredients are local (including cheese from a farm owned by the host's sister) The service was on spot and very professional Very reccomended, a meal which is also an experience

The Statue of King Pelayo is a significant symbol located in the sanctuary of Covadonga, in front of the basilica of Santa Maria la Real de Covadonga. It holds historical importance as it marks the site where King Pelayo defeated the ruling Moors during the Battle of Covadonga around 722 AD, initiating the 770-year-long campaign known as the Reconquista to reclaim Christian rule over the Iberian Peninsula.

Given so much lack of information that I read in the comments and that I see that we have been trapped in the story that the school wanted to tell us, as a historian, for those who visit or have visited this place, I want to indicate that: 1. It is believed that the famous Battle of Covadonga took place here, a priori, led by Pelayo, an Asturian nobleman, surely of Gothic origin, which was a brake on the expansion of Al Andalus throughout the rest of the Peninsula. 2. This did not give rise to Spain. That concept of nation did not exist and if we brought Pelayo, or any peninsular inhabitant of his century and later and later centuries, they would not feel identified with this. Although it could be understood as the germ of kingdoms with culture, customs, and a common language that would give rise to the nation of Spain much later. 3. The term Reconquista is not very well accepted in the historiographic world. Nothing was reconquered, it was a conquest of the different peninsular Christian kingdoms to the Muslim expansion, which culminated in 1492 with the taking of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada by Isabel, queen of Castile, but not of Spain, (known as the Catholic). 4. It is still exciting to visit a place like this. In addition to its beauty, for its symbolic historical value. But please, do it without fanaticism and trying to see it objectively.

(Translated by Google) As we ascend toward the Sanctuary of Covadonga, on the esplanade of the Basilica of Santa María la Real, we encounter the imposing bronze statue of Don Pelayo, cast in 1964 by Eduardo Zaragoza. Don Pelayo, depicted as a strong warrior, seems to encourage us from his pedestal to continue fighting for what we set out to do, for what we consider ours. His hardened yet calm expression reminds us of the courage we all carry within us and invites us to endure. His strong legs, his sword, and the Victory Cross behind him are simply an example of how a territory as natural as it is harsh, as beautiful as it is unpredictable, so brave and always eager to live, stands the test of time, reminding us that our battles, whether great or mere skirmishes, whether remembered as great victories or as small, unimportant altercations, are what will shape our ways, our feelings. On the pedestal is an inscription: "Our hope is in Christ. This small hill will be the salvation of Spain. Chronicle of Alfonso III." Perhaps this phrase, without taking it literally, forgetting official history and following the legend, I'm speaking of those legends that, without knowing whether they're true or not, tend to stir our feelings more than anything else. Perhaps it shows us the great hope that the refuge Don Pelayo points to, a harsh and difficult place, cold and damp, will lead us to what we so yearn for. It's true that we will have to fight and that the weapons at our disposal are precarious, but we will win, we will overcome fears and injustices, and we will achieve our noble goal. His name is burned into our hearts, like the one who led us to change, to becoming ourselves again. To understand that our worth is enough to fight for what's ours, to fight for the one who walks beside us. It doesn't matter how many of us there are or if we're prepared, our ultimate goal is simply not to give up.

An interesting museum showcasing paintings by the master José Madrazo, a chronological series of Spanish kings belonging to the Prado Museum, and 17 works on loan to Covadonga, representing other kings of the Asturian and Leonese monarchies. It also houses a crown of the Virgin and an 18th-century map of Covadonga, as well as a collection of liturgical vestments, chalices, monstrances, and mantles of the Virgin Mary. This space is complemented by religious paintings and several display cases of votive offerings from private individuals and institutions.

Located near the Grotto of the Virgin or the Holy Cave, Fuente de los Siete Caños, also known as the Fountain of Seven Spouts or Marriage Fountain, is a popular spot with a traditional belief attached to it. The verse associated with this fountain adds to its mystique and allure.

It is shaped like a cup from which seven small rays fall, which may refer to the seven Sacraments. Although it is popularly known as the "fountain of marriage", because according to an old Asturian folklore song it says: "The Virgin of Covadonga has a very clear spring, the girl who drinks from it after a year gets married" or, a variant: "When you arrive in Covadonga, don't drink water, brunette, if, as you said yesterday, you prefer to live single". Thousands of people come every year to the impressive basilica and the intimate sanctuary and the nature that is hidden in this mountain. To pray to the Virgin or, simply like us, to enjoy the unique atmosphere that is breathed in the area, especially if there are no crowds.

Located in the Picos de Europa National Park, Cangas de Onis, Asturias, Buferrera Mines are a significant part of the region's industrial history. Nestled in the heart of Picos de Europa Natural Park, Arcea Gran Hotel Pelayo offers a traditional Asturian experience with its quaint rooms and picturesque views of Covadonga Cathedral. The hotel's classic decor and spacious rooms provide a comfortable retreat for nature enthusiasts. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant serving delectable seafood dishes and a bar for relaxation.
Beautiful 4 star hotel from around 1900 with matching interior in the rooms. The location is breathtaking with mountains and the basilica dominating the scenery. Food in the regular restaurant is decent, though not special. But in the building you also have a second restauant (Cova Sacra) which well deserves a Guide Michelin star for a reasonable price. Best food in a long time!!! Unfortunately I have to make an amendment to my first impressions. Third day in a row that I had to park my car far away from the hotel (1 Km and more), as it is incredibly crowded during the season, and parking lots of the hotel and outside are sparse. Shy away from the location during summer...

The room was a good size and clean, the hotel is very grand if a little faded and past its best. Staff were helpful and nice but you got the feeling they had a low level of training. Its a very beautiful location...but very remote. The restaurant offered a reasonable fixed price menu. Parking was limited and poorly laid out, the staff, though very nice, appears a bit lost on how to run a hotel, for example us and another couple of guests were in the bar and it took ages for anyone to be around to take our order. The restaurant set up is a little strange too, if you have the cheaper menu you are in a different restaurant to the expensive one ... which feels kind of bizarre! Also, unless you are interested in the church, there is nothing to do, no choice of restaurants or bars...nothing! Hotel is a bit of a faded Grande Dame, but good for an overnight stop

We stayed for two nights. The hotel is beautifully located, surrounded by mountains. It’s fairly isolated, and apart from the religious attractions nearby there isn’t much to do except enjoy the nature around. Our room was very spacious, with high ceilings and a nice view of the mountains. The bathroom, however, had a faint sewage smell that never really went away. The hotel restaurant was actually very good, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. On the day we visited Lagos de Covadonga, it was extremely crowded – all the buses were fully booked, and we ended up waiting in the taxi line for about 1.5 hours. So make sure to book your transportation in advance. Despite the crowds and the wait, the trip was an amazing experience.

Rooms need some updating. The chairs feel like they are going to come apart. Bed is tiny (1.35 my) , this is 2025 is no longer acceptable and the mattress feels like it had never been updated since the hotel first opened over 100 years ago . Food in the restaurant was great, the cafeteria, better skip it.
Manny V — Google review
Not worth it. The location is great, but …. First of all the staff doesn’t manage the parking situation at all. We paid 170 EUR per night and were forced to park our car elsewhere because visitors were leaving their cars on the hotel premises, and the staff didn’t seem to care, which is super disappointing. Another issue is that the hotel is unbelievably old and in desperate need of renovation. For such a high price, you cannot provide such terrible service and room quality.
Eugenia — Google review
The hotel is really nice. The rooms are comfortable and clean and large. It is kind of at the end of the road, so when you want to go somewhere you have to drive a little bit further, but it didn't bother us that much.
Nate S — Google review
I don't even know where to start. This was the most disappointing stay during our honeymoon so far. Few days before arriving I was reading the reviews and saw that the AC was not working. I was really worried about that and I texted them in advance to ask if it's fixed. They had the audacity to write that everything was repaired and working (I see not from the reviews and from our experience that was not true): When we arrived at the reception after 4h driving the staff started to complain (no welcome, nothing) that we have 2 dogs and we've booked the attic room where dogs are not allowed. They treated us like we are some idiots who never travelled before. I ask also if the AC is working, they say yes. We arrive to the room which was incredibly small and has only 2 small bed lamps which illuminates it and it was HELL. It was incredibly hot, and then I see a ventilator. Hmm.. I wonder why is there a ventilator when they said they fixed the AC? I go to the reception (again) to tell them it is not working and the staff insists that the red blinking light of the AC means is working, I just need to wait. Fast forward to the 3rd day - it did not work. I went to the reception daily and every single time they gaslit me that they are working on it. Not to mention that the attic rooms have windows in the ceiling and during the second night there was rain and we could not open them to freshen the room because the rain was falling on our bed. We had to keep our room door open to cool a bit the room as the other guests were passing by. This was such a humiliating experience. The bathroom has no ventilation. It is simply a sauna. The shower was leaking and only 1/2 of the lights were working. The parking is a joke. Of course there was no space for the hotel guests and we had to park the car somewhere else.

Had lunch in the restaurant which is hidden below the hotel and separate from the cafeteria. It is a proper restaurant with a set menu of 22 euros and was very good value. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very cool in the lovely dining room. Planet of room I suspect because few people would find it. Love to stay at the hotel in a superb store say Covadonga, the price seems very reasonable.

Asturian restaurant
Country food restaurant
Casa Morán - Restaurante y alojamiento rural - is a unique and lovely place in Asturias, offering friendly and professional staff, perfect for recovering from a long trip or day in the mountains. The food is highly praised, with typical dishes from Asturias at affordable prices. Visitors rave about the homemade desserts and the opportunity to enjoy good wines. The restaurant's Fabada is particularly recommended, described as fit for a king and surpassing even Michelin-starred versions.
Excellent with everything- the food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. We had dinner and were very impressed. We went back again to try different dishes…. All were spectacular. I highly recommend Casa Moran for a wonderful Asturias experience!

Avoid This Place! This Highly-Rated Restaurant Is Totally Overrated with a Horrible Experience I came here full of expectations, but every single thing was such a letdown that I wanted to walk out right away! The signature Fabada was as salty as if someone dumped an entire salt shaker into it. One bite made my throat feel tight, and you couldn’t even taste the original flavor of the beans and meat at all. The Arroz I ordered had such a tiny portion—it didn’t even cover the bottom of the plate. It felt like it was gone as soon as I barely filled my stomach, and the cost-performance was ridiculously low. The most frustrating part was the service. The waiter had a cold face the whole time and never took the initiative to help. When I asked a question, I had to repeat it three times, but it was like they didn’t hear me. I couldn’t tell if they were hard of hearing or just didn’t want to provide service. I spent money just to put myself through this hassle, and I’ll never come back again!

Amazing dinner made by Chef Tina! Creamy Camembert and a perfect Entrecôte 😋 I strongly recommend the cheesecake as it is homemade! Great place for anyone looking to enjoy high quality food made with care and love 👍

Absolutely superb in every way. We arrived just in time for the Lunch and it was delicious. We were on route and so only stayed one night; the room was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Staff from check-in, Lunch waitresses, and evening bar staff were all polite, helpful and efficient - thank you all. Without hesitation i would recommend both this Hotel and Restaurant.

We visited from Washington, DC and stayed at Casa Morán and ate at the restaurant several times. The hotel is centrally located in town with close access to beautiful hiking, or shopping and beaches in nearby towns like Llanes. The rooms and common areas are very clean with plentiful open air and naturally lit spaces to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenes surrounding the town. The hotel was quiet, clean, very safe and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The restaurant: we ate several lunches and dinners at the restaurant and every single thing we ate was amazing quality and prepared perfectly! The fabada was delicious and as authentic as you can find! The cheeses, fish, beef and ribs were all incredible and the lamb (lunch) was phenomenal! Deserts, wine, coffee and bread were also delicious. You can’t go wrong here! It’s the perfect place to visit for an authentic experience without compromising on comfort and accommodation and everything was priced VERY reasonably. We will definitely visit again!

We had the good fortune to come here for dinner last night. Wow! What a great find. The food was the best we’ve tasted in Spain so far, and we’ve been here a couple of weeks. I had the local cheese for entree, which was beautifully presented and tasted sensational. My husband had the prawn dumplings, and he loved them. For main I had the salmon and he had the cod- both perfectly cooked and presented. We also ordered a mixed salad which was very generous. Add a bottle of wine, and a chocolate dessert to share, and we knew we were in heaven. Thanks to our patient waitress, Mencia, who helped us enormously with the translations, and the chef, Donita, whose culinary skills and presentation are outstanding. I thoroughly recommend.

Been to many places while in Asturias, most of them by recommendations, other just by chance... This place is unique, staff is extremely friendly and professional, really, it is difficult to find such friendly people, natural, helpful, servile and simply nice. The place is lovely, much more than you can tell when at the facade, perfect to recover from a long trip or day in the mountains, and the food is something! Let the waiters help you and follow the recommendation, you won't be disappointed, this place is a must visit and I guarantee you will come back... 5/5 thank you!

The best place in town. Great value for your money. Typical dishes from Asturias at affordable prices. This is an excellent option to go with the family. The desserts are homemade and really tasty. The staff is very friendly, and they have good wines, so you can't help but coming here.

That is what you need before walking and hiking round the Lagos. Sandwiches and drinks served quickly not expensive that you can eat in an agréable place. Don’t expect too much here : no wifi but you can lay with card.

Excellent coffee, donuts, and sandwiches. The people behind the bar are friendly and efficient and really know how to handle large crowds. Such a relief after a difficult journey up to Covadonga and then after a long hike in the mountains!
Jedidiah G — Google review
Every dish was great and so was the service, and very affordable. I never thought that could happen at a restaurant that's the only game in town, with zero competition at that elevation. If I am in the area again I would make the trip up the mountain just to enjoy another great meal there.
Bon C — Google review
Very quick and friendly service. Table was sprayed and wiped carefully. Coffee, tea and cheesecake arrived together as requested. I ate eggs and fries (no ham) and it was great quality eggs. This also arrived quickly. The menu was in both Spanish and English. There was a huge range or items available to order.
Muldr4Scly — Google review
It is the only place at Lagos view spot. The food is ok, but not for my taste. They do not speak English. Restrooms have no paper and soap, the weather was too cold and it was nice warm place. But otherwise probably won't dine in there. Coffe is fine though. And view is incredible.
Victoria G — Google review
Very bad, the waiters completely ignored us despite having waved at them several times. Some were casually chatting with customers while we were just waiting. We left after 15 minutes, didn't even order anything. Better take a picnic and sit on the grass near the lake.

Restaurant
A popular place not only because it’s very accessible on touristy route to Covadonga monastery or the lakes, but also because they have good food. Went for a late lunch and had to wait a bit for a table to clear. Food was delicious - had the champinon mushrooms with cecina and alioli and the shrimps al ajillo. Dessert was not an easy option, was even going to order two but waiter said I wasn’t going to eat all that - he was right, could barely eat one and went for the canutillos de arroz con leche (canelloni filled with rice pudding) Parking space outside.
Calin — Google review
food here is really delicious, but the service concept is not very tourist-friendly. there are two options: the regular menu (available in english) and the daily menu (only in spanish). we didn’t realize the daily menu can’t be shared. we ordered two menus for two adults and two kids, and the kids shared one dish (of four). in the end, we were charged for three menus — but without getting the food, drinks, or dessert for the third one. basically, we ate two portions but paid for three. great food, but if you don’t speak spanish, be careful.

Great food, nice place and excellent attention. We had the best meal in our three days scape. We reserved table. The chamois were the best ever. And the cachopo huge. The waiter had the idea to recommend enough food for us. Which we appreciated. Excellent really !!! We paid less than $20 per person. Great price too

Fantastic restaurant. We spent about 10 days in Asturia and this was definitively the best restaurant we visited. The selection of cheeses, scallops and caramalized apple salad all were delicious. The patio is also nice and spacious to rewind from a busy day. Highly recommended!

Authentic great dishes with good flavors! Every dishes we tried are very satisfying! 👍 👍 very crowded but quick services!
S. L — Google review
Was frustrated with “the daily meal” option. Totally fine to pay per person whatever supposed to be paid, but do not like the kind of service when the restaurant provide the whole details and than make you feel those who made a mistake.
Igor T — Google review
Service was good, unfortunately the fish of the day, Tuna was over cooked and over salted, the rest of the meal was acceptable but not memorable. There are better and cheeper meals elsewhere.
Squidge's A — Google review
Pretty good, the main dish was okay (I took the veal scallops, nothing spectacular) but the cheese plate was delicious (5 different local cheeses to try). My friend took the fabada and really liked it. Very nice terrace. Service was a bit slow and they tried to sell us the most expensive meat (which is not on the menu so better ask the price)
