Hilversum is known as the Netherlands’ “media city,” home to major broadcasters and the striking Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, which explores Dutch radio and television history in an eye-catching modern building. Architecture fans come to see the work of Willem Marinus Dudok, especially the iconic Hilversum Town Hall. The town is surrounded by heathlands and forests of the Gooi region, offering easy access to cycling and walking trails. Its compact center, with shops, cafés, and restaurants, makes Hilversum a relaxed base or day trip between Amsterdam and Utrecht.
With favorites like Tiramisu | Lunch & Diner | Koffie & Catering | Cucina Italiana, Foodhall MOUT, and Winkelcentrum Kerkelanden, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Tiramisu | Cucina Italiana | Lunch & Diner | GELATO and VIDA Hilversum (tapasbar) so you can get the best taste of Hilversum while you’re here. Nice place, alot of shops and a grocery store too. parking spots are available too.

Clean, bright shopping center, decent shops but a bit light on supermarkets with just a Dirk in the basement. Parking is a couple of floors of a q-park on the roof, does do 24 hour access if you remember your ticket.
Tim C — Google review
there is only one toilet and its closed already even before 6pm. Open time 1pm is also doesnt make sense. The rest is perfect

The venue, which used to be a car showroom, provides an industrial ambiance for patrons to relax and indulge in their culinary adventures. The establishment is known for its exceptional food quality and diverse menu options that cater to all tastes.
Delicious food and great service. Nice and cosy atmosphere. I had nachos - friends of mine had curry, sushi, tacos - and it all was delicious! Highly recommended.

Visited this place last week during the glorious hot and sunny weather. Great place to grab a seat outside and have a few drinks and food. Nice location near Hilversum station. Good selection of drinks and a wide variety of food on the menu. The sushi rolls were especially nice but everything that we tried was very good. Cool atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff.
Jay 8 — Google review
Excellent friendly welcoming service and a very beautiful place to hang out, inside as well as outside. The food was very good as well, and the prices very reasonable. We went for Vietnamise.

Wonderful and affordable place to have food. Varieties from world cuisines under one roof.

Foodhall MOUT is the go-to in Hilversum for good vibes and great eats. From Vietnamese to tacos, sushi to Indian—it’s all here. Chill brewery vibe, solid beer list, friendly staff, and always fresh, tasty food. Never disappoints!
Joao M — Google review
Such a great place! They have quite a variety of drinks and food from different regions of the world. We went there for dinner and got the duck rolls, tacos, saladrolls and a few drinks. We would definitely go there again!
Anastasia F — Google review
All the food is always delicious, don’t miss the ceviche, sushi and dim sum. The concept is great and family friendly with a kids play area but it’s very loud and always full. You can skip the tacos as the portions are minuscule, over all would recommend if you want food from across the world and super casual, would come again.
Leo M — Google review
Always love a good food hall in Europe. This one is a bit different. You seat yourself, and then place an order through an employee for food and drink. Many different options to choose from - Mexican, pizza and pasta, sushi, bar food, etc. One ticket per table, although we were able to split it directly in half to pay. Card only. Plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating available. Paid parking nearby. Good burger, tacos were okay, I personally loved the burrito bites, Philly cheese steaks was also good, as well as sweet potato fries. My friend liked her dragon roll and her beef gyoza. We went back the following night for dinner while we were still in town. Had a really good sweet white wine, espresso martini and some beer at the table. No complaints. Just very easy to have an expensive bill trying different food and drink.

A really nice venue with a bit of edge, I’ve been with party events and also started with a gigs. I know the staff give their time for free but for a guy I don’t want to be forced to take my coat off. Last night I was, and it’s the first time ever this has occurred within a huge history of shows (I worked in the music business for 15 years on the road). The forcing, the rule and the attitude wrecks it all. Now I wait until the shows are in Utrecht and go there. Shame.
Pjus A — Google review
De Vorstin is the heart of Hilversum’s cultural revival. Where the youth center De Tagrijn once stood, a fire broke out, burning the past and opening the way for the new. This fire sparked a story of rebirth, strength, and hope. From the ashes rose De Vorstin — not just a concert hall, but a bridge between past and future, tradition and new technology, uniting music, art, and media as the city’s cultural core. The project was created by renowned architect Frits van Dongen from De Architekten Cie. The building is a bold yet respectful glance into history. Its wave-like aluminum faсade pays tribute to the Dutch “Nieuwe Zakelijkheid” movement of the 1920s–30s, where strict forms blend with lightness and dynamism. Originally planned as a “blob” design, height limits pushed part of the building underground, giving the façade a living, shifting play of light and shadow. The entrance features a “stairway to heaven” — narrowing upwards, creating an illusion of infinite ascent, symbolizing the pursuit of new cultural heights and inspiring every visitor. Climbing it, one feels the spirit of creativity lifting them above the ordinary, calling for discoveries and victories.Inside, De Vorstin carefully preserves the memory of the youth center and heroes of the past: mosaics in the lobby display symbols of Dutch Resistance — the Star of David and stylized blades — reminding of the region’s heroic history and links to the Resistance Museum (Verzetsmuseum). This is not only a music house but a keeper of memory. The main hall is lined with rare Javanese redwood, creating unique acoustics that envelop listeners with a soft velvet sound that embraces and immerses them in musical magic. Here every note comes alive and becomes three-dimensional, allowing the music to be felt fully. In 2025, De Vorstin underwent a technical upgrade: Robe PAINTES, LEDBeam 350, and Tetra1 lighting systems transformed the stage into a living palette where beams of light paint music in the air, conducting the audience’s emotions. These technologies not only enhance impressions but become part of the artistic expression.Since its completion in 2010, De Vorstin has been Hilversum’s cultural hub, winning the 2011 audience award as the city’s most beautiful new building.Under the stage lies a professional radio studio, where every Saturday the AVROTROS Muziekcafé program airs live. In the basement’s dim light, live sound is born and immediately spreads across the country on NPO Radio 2. The studio is operated by NEP and connected to Media Park — the Netherlands’ largest media hub. De Vorstin is part of a vast organism merging television, radio, and live art. This invisible artery of Hilversum — a city etched into global entertainment history — hosted the first castings of the iconic show “The Voice,” developed by Talpa under John de Mol and Roel van Velzen. Within these walls, an unknown idea first found its voice and soon exploded across screens worldwide. Hilversum, called “Europe’s voice center,” cemented its status as a TV creativity epicenter.Yet despite technology and innovation, deep inside De Vorstin lives something intangible — spirit. The spirit of music, freedom, and memory. Here the first chords of rock bands rang out and heavy guitar riffs thundered. Here theater and dance find common language. Here metal found a sanctuary — the stage beloved by heavy music fans, where each guitar sounds like a spell and every drumbeat pulses as a living legend.De Vorstin is not just a building, hall, or studio. It’s a cultural organism that breathes, remembers, sounds, and shines. Here past meets future, and every visitor becomes part of a great, endless story of art.

We had a great night but if you could please allow for better accessibility. For older people, or injured to use the elevator (not only up, also down) and in general, the exit process was quite terrible... It took forever (bonus: the injured knee). Lady Blackbird made our night though!!
Tessa R — Google review
Great venue with multiple concert halls and nice events! Coat check should be complementary and would be nice if they offered their own parking as the municipal parking close by is usually full. Recommended!
N K — Google review
The place is great, the people are kind, ticket prices are good! Unfortunately the drink prices used to be better, and the tap beers have changed to Bavaria. You can get a good craft beer for 5 something euros (Uiltje, it's in a glass too!), but I was a bit startled at more than 20 euros for 3 pints of Bavaria off the tap. Not extremely shocking, but not as affordable as it used to be. All-in-all, I'll be back for sure, but I'll consume less because of the above.

Nestled in the heart of Hilversum, Media Park stands as a vibrant hub of creativity and innovation. This lively area is surrounded by charming shops and cozy eateries, making it an ideal spot for both short visits and extended stays. While Media Park is primarily a workplace for many celebrities and media professionals, it offers unique opportunities for urban photography enthusiasts hoping to catch a glimpse of famous faces. The park houses some of the Netherlands' largest media companies, contributing to its reputation as a media city.
Lots of things to see if you like dutch television. Hillywood tour was great too. Nienke is the best tourguide! Go here if you have time! I really enjoyed my time. Didn't see any famous people though.

This is a museum related to Dutch media industry. But there is no English info and the contents is focused on Dutch media, so if you don’t have enough context on it, you will just be confused. But this is meant to be like this in my opinion, so this is not their fault
Sh L — Google review
Easy to reach with public transport, depends on where in Media Park you have to be, but some buildings require a little walk. The Media Museum was a little less spectacular than I expected, but still an interesting place to visit.
Ymke J — Google review
Biggest media companies of the Netherlands are located here. Quite a nice place to work, but not necessarily to visit, definitely not as a tourist. The only interesting thing in that regard would be the Beeld & Geluid (or "sound & vision")Museum. Surrounding is nice and green and great for a walk.
Joost R — Google review

This is the place where all kind of celebrities and famous people are working. But you can't just go inside if you don't work on Media Park terrain. But it's still wonderfull place to make some urban foto's and maybe see some famous person walking in or out. Hilversum is media sity because of Media Park.

A nice local shopping centre without the chaos of anything extreme. Clean, well laid out and spacious Mall with free parking and public toilets. AH would be the biggest draw card as well as a Lidel, pharmacy and some smaller shops like a butcher and cheese.

Italian restaurant
Tiramisu is a delightful gem in Hilversum, renowned for its authentic Italian cuisine and charming ambiance. This eatery boasts a fantastic wood-fired oven that elevates the dining experience with mouthwatering dishes. It's not just about great food; Tiramisu also serves as an ideal venue for casual business meetings, providing a relaxed setting to discuss important matters over delicious meals. The dedicated staff and owner genuinely care about their patrons, ensuring consistent quality even in the competitive restaurant scene.
This is actually my favourite place in Hilversum. Well don’t let me tell you about it 🫵 pick up the phone and actually book a table if you are thinking of doing dinner. Lunch is simple and one can just walk in. With this place you get the owner and staff that actually care about the business. Although the restaurant business can be hard and competitive the whole team here remains consistent. Did I mention free parking by the restaurant and if you know Hilversum then you know this is gold. I give this place 5 stars 🖐️
Ebrahim P — Google review
OK, so my honest opinion first time in this restaurant with my daughter, we had the lasagna and the gluten-free pizza. The presentation was very poor as you can see on the picture. The lasagna was low in salt and had a flat taste, not something you would expect from an Italian restaurant. My daughter wasn’t impressed with the gluten-free pizza, the taste was also flat and the crust was saggy. The lasagna was extremely hot!! I burnt my mouth with the first bite and had to wait for a while for it to cool down and even then it was steaming hot until the last bite. Other than that the waiters were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. However I do have to give the food two stars because it was not at all what we were expecting. Maybe in the future you can work on improving some of this things? Friendly regards!
Omar L — Google review
I ordered the pasta carbonara, but unfortunately, the pasta was severely undercooked—barely 30% done. When I raised this with the staff, they explained it was “fresh pasta,” implying that the texture was intentional. Still, I insisted they cook it further, and while they did take it back, it only came out slightly better—maybe 10% more cooked—and they added extra cheese, which made the dish overly salty. The overall taste was bland and disappointing. I didn’t want to make a bigger issue of it at the time, so I simply paid and left. I genuinely hope the restaurant takes this kind of feedback seriously and improves both the food quality and how they handle customer concerns in the future.

Back after over 25 years - living abroad and far away -, I revisited the place yesterday and it was a wonderful experience again. Close to the trainstation where my companion for the lunch arrived and with a spacious parking for visitors so I could park close by and didn't have to walk too far, which is difficult for me. Food was delicious, cappuccino to die for, friendly service and a tranquil atmosphere. I will be back soon.
Marijke G — Google review
The worst spaghetti I ever had in last 17 years! I have been to this restaurant 3 times, every time i go for spaghetti AOP with shrimp, but except the first time i had in 2023 was perfect, the quality and taste is getting worse and worse. Today I got a portion with tasteless spaghetti sticky together with residual water soup and dry bieslook in the plate, no olive oil, no garlic and no parsley mixed at all. After I complained, they put some extra olive oil and garlic in made it even more wired. I can’t believe myself sitting in an Italian restaurant having this “spaghetti”. No one wants to pay for a spaghetti like this. However, the owner claimed the spaghetti is good, nothing wrong with it. I read through the reviews here, it turned out to be that I am not the one only who complains their tasteless spaghetti. You could go for homemade tiramisu, but don’t order spaghetti AOP!!!! If you want to have a decent spaghetti aglio e olio, go to Bussum. A well cooked spaghetti aglio e olio should be full flavor of baked garlic, enriched aroma of parsley

Good gambas al ajillo and calamares. I could have enjoyed larger portions but ok, it's NL. You'll need to order bread (usually comes included in Spain) but it'll be nice. The best is the service of Gerdaine (did I get it right?) the waitress who speaks Spanish. She's awesome!

Excellent tapas bar in Hilversum, good for a catch up with the girls, red wine is very good there!
Tatiana A — Google review
Food is somewhat OK to good if you know what to order. Three-four dishes are actually decent, but the price outweighs the taste. It’s a pretty lame tapas bar with a less than lacking service. Staff is untrained, they can’t really recommend you anything and the waiting time….the waiting time is looooong! You sit and you wait and you wait until somebody realises you may want something and you are not just resting in their bar! And did I mention they’re pretty arrogant too?

Bring back the chef from 2 years ago. This place was fire. Now the food is bland and not worth the time :(

Nice atmosphere, slow and not attentive service (needed to raise hands twice to get the menu, happened after 20min - when you hire staff it’d be great to train them, not only hire friendly people). Food: tasteless tortillas, mushroom al ajillo were swimming in garlic and no clue if I was eating mushrooms or something else. Salchicha flambé was good. Drinks were good (white sangria). All in all, it was quite disappointing. We give it sometimes a try but it never gets there.

Would definitely recommend this place if you want to try good flavourful north Indian cuisine. The staff was also very friendly and we got our food in time. The ambience gives a Indian fine dining vibe with nice music and interiors. Reasonable price. Overall a pleasant experience.

The service is excellent and the food is delicious! We were celebrating my grandmas 80th birthday and we could decorate the table, which was really nice! The food was great and the staff is super vriendly. Would recommend to others ♡

Very good Indian restaurant! Dahi puri is the ball with yoghurt sauce inside, very fresh. Highly recommend barbecue royal mix grill - mild / median is a okay level of spicy, juicy and well-flavored! Chicken do pizza is my favorite! Please try it! Garlic naan, try it when it’s on the table, best taste when it’s hot ;)

A Delicious Indian Evening! 🌶️🍛 Recently, the two of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner at this Indian restaurant. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. The service was quick without feeling rushed — truly hospitable. We started with the samosas, which were absolutely delightful: crispy on the outside, perfectly spiced on the inside. For the main course, we chose the jalfrezi and madras curries. Both dishes were rich in flavor, beautifully balanced in spices and heat — exactly what you hope for in authentic Indian cuisine. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and we felt genuinely taken care of. Definitely a place we’d love to return to and explore more from the menu. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys the rich flavors of Indian food! 👏

We had such a wonderful time here and the food was so very good. We are used to a spicier briyani, but we probably don't know how it's supposed to be cooked - ha. The service was excellent. We enjoyed sitting outside. We wil be back.

Incredible food quality and top notch service, would definitely recommend it for a fancy & delicious dinner.
Erinç İ — Google review
The ambience, presentation and service of the restaurant is of high caliber. However, for the price, it doesn't deliver to an exquisite level which one would expect. The crispy beef starter had no crisp whatsoever unless that was pertaining to the lettuce upon which it sat. The Dragon Roll starter was nothing more than a mildly tasting fishy spring roll, but I'd give props to the deep fried pastry. Duck pancakes were the saving grace from the starters choice. Our main meals were served 'lukewarm' and had to be returned to the kitchen and be prepared again. That was the end of the meal in my mind. In addition, the first and last time I would visit. Considering the restaurant was full, although not strictly the restaurants fault, hearing some very loud young-footballer-type-guy face-timing his mates over everyone else in the place really killed whatever vibe was remaining. In no way shape or form should the bill have been charged in full for such a mistake when dealing with a party of 7 at the price bracket they are operating in.

Upscale place. Food is pretty good. Although staff did not warn me about the fact that I ordered a starter and a main course that had a huge overlap in foods. So, had the same prawn and scallop and tuna in both dishes. This really left me dissatisfied.

I always go when I'm in Holland, it's my favorite restaurant.
Fernando L — Google review
I'll begin with the good point. The service was great, the waiters friendly and hospitable. However everything else about this place makes me wonder how the place receives such great reviews. Our food took ridiculously long to arrive with the entire dinner lasting 3h30 hours (without desserts or coffee as we had enough frankly), however this could be a one-time situation. On the other hand, the food does not differ from most cheaper Chinese restaurants, by appearance nor by taste except for one exception, the tiny portions and inflated prices. I understand the value that comes with great ingredients and great service, but the food honestly did not stand out. I noticed that this does not apply to all dishes, my duck menu was well priced but my father ordered a "seafood festival" which amounted to 4 fried shrimps for the price of my entire menu. The decor seems a little dilapidated.

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Dirk van den Broek. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision is a museum located in Hilversum, offering hands-on exhibits that explore Dutch media. The museum features a building with impressive architecture and spacious interiors, as well as a cafeteria with reasonable prices. It provides an interactive experience focused on radio, TV, gaming, and internet, making it an enjoyable destination for families.
Huge media focussed museum. Was really impressed by their mobile app that guides you through the meseum and allows all of the exhibits to recognise you as you move along and collect a digital footprint as you move through. There were sections on gaming, eurovision, social media, some technology bits. Almost anything you would associate with sound and vision.
Scot M — Google review
Great museum. I think they should update certain exhibitions like the 3D and VR animations. We saw a few screens not working as well. But all in all, it's an interesting experience in a fantastic building.
Miguel P — Google review
Enjoyable place for a days out with a family. Not so much as a solo visit from what I noticed. Still you can learn about the media culture of the Netherlands and also some international media. There’s lots of games to play and do there and it’s not so much a museum but more of an interactive experience. If you are looking for a museum visit I would not recommend this place but if you are looking for an interactive experience this would be a great place.
乇Ⱡ Ꭾ — Google review
Let's start with the good. There is a lot to do to immerse yourself into the media world and a few Dutch cultural media things on display. The museum is clean, has lockers, a nice café/restaurant, and many floors with things to see. Now for the room for improvement. This museum was too interactive with a complete dependency on smartphones. Maybe I don't have space to download the app or I have a child without a smartphone who is missing out. It's kind of a soulless place where information is replaced with interactive activities which yes, they inform, but in an incredibly overstimulating way. I really want to learn about Dutch TV national treasures and iconic television moments and not including this is a real missed opportunity. Combine this with all the information being in Dutch (if you're going to make me use my phone, at least have a translated version for your international guests). It's worth a visit if you have a museum card, but generally speaking, it feels more like an interactive play centre than a museum.
Claire W — Google review
Museum has a building with spectacular architecture. Very specious. It’s cafeteria is also nice with reasonable prices. Museum content is a bit mix of everything. That’s understandable as it is about radio, tv, gaming and internet at the same time. The interaction with material in museum by phones are interesting for kids and youngsters. However a little overwhelming for kids with too much screens and lights. They get exhausted at the end. For grown ups the content is less interesting. Overall good for a day activity with family. Also all the people working there were very friendly.
Emre — Google review
Excellent architecture, indoors and outside. Very nice museum, especially for kids. Recently renovated. With the National Museum Pass, entry is free. Easy to reach by train.
Michael B — Google review
It’s redecorated since 2-3 years ago, the themes are totally changed. Nice changes for the young people, but less for small kids. It’s recommended for kids above 8, and I think it’s reasonable. Elder kids, youths and adults will love here. A lot of programs about how to be an influencer, producer, director and so on.
Mini M — Google review
The building is pretty, but the museum isn't spectacular. Also, it is fully in Dutch. This might not be handy if you bring guests from abroad.

A very nice restaurant with great patio to sit outside, which we did. The service was friendly, the menu was quite large, and we all could easily find something we would enjoy. The atmosphere outside was chill, but it was next to a white crowded road unfortunately. Still would come back, for the nice vibes and lovely food

Friendly restaurant in Hilversum, with local offers including game and fish. Prices are bearable, try the local beer selection. Cozy news-reading table (rare these days), busy bar but good service (limited English, this is not Amsterdam!). The food overall is Dutch style, heavy meat, heavy sauces, steamed veggies and potato mash. Nothing too memorable, try the game to have something a bit outside the usual.
Adam S — Google review
Beautiful, cozy dining room and expansive terrace. Be ready for sticker shock if you haven’t visited in a while. Food was just OK, given the elevated price levels. And what happened to the chicken sate? I’ll keep it beer and bitterballen next time.

Have eaten here twice during our stay, both for lunch and in the evening. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere here as well as the food, with good vegetarian choices. A very pleasant place to eat.

Waited more than 1 hour for food to arrive. Although it was Easter Day, we had standard menu. Aspergus soup was watery without taste. The high tea kind of sandwich brunch presentation and quality were bland or oversalted. Only one choice for vegetarians. In summary, bad food, bad service, lots of money...

Dirk van den Broek is a beloved grocery chain in the Netherlands, known for its affordability and quality. Located conveniently in Hilversum, this store offers a diverse selection of products, including both food and non-food items. While it may be smaller than some competitors and has limited hours—closing at 8 PM on weekdays—it remains a favorite among locals for its friendly staff and excellent value.
I love it it has low prices it lays in the middle of Hilversum and it has a big variety in products and even non-food products.

Loving this store for offering groceries at good prices. However, this store closes pretty early (8pm) and earlier in the weekend. It is also quite a small store and as a consequence, the range of products available in this store is limited. Most of the staff members are pretty nice.

One of the cheaper supermarkets in town. Whereas that's great, they are not that well-stocked for promo items, and don't always open up enough cash registers. Big plus is they accept all credit cards at no charge.
Arjan H — Google review
Dirk is one of the supermarkets you want to do your daily(weekly) shopping in. The prices are lower than most of the competitors so you won't hurt your wallet. The choice is wide and they have most of the things you already know. There is little "corner" of household items as well, where you can find some useful stuff or diy items. Often there are many offers which are really worth it.

Nice place. Pizza is not top 1 roman pizza in my life, but still really tasty. The dutch drinks - SO SWEET. Beware of those!
Aleksandra J — Google review
They know what they are doing. The decoration is nice, pizza and tiramisu is very good. I like their open kitchen concept. You can watch the guys tossing the pizza dough and then putting the prepared pizza into the big oven. And it is not expensive.
Bülent K — Google review
Not enough staff. Missing ingredients and drinks. Scant toppings on pizza. I have eaten at other places in this chain and it has been better. Had to get own menus, got a second choice drink and a second choice pizza due to missing stock. And the tomato base on the pizza was so scant it was embarrassing. Must try harder.

David's Bar & Restaurant is located at the famous Media Park in Hilversum, offering a unique blend of American cuisine and Southern soul food. Situated at Joop van den Endeplein, this establishment serves as a restaurant, bar, and deli all in one. The versatile nature of David's makes it an ideal spot for any time of day, catering to various dining preferences. Visitors can expect generous portions and high-quality dishes that are well worth the price.
The atmosphere of David's Bar & Restaurant is cozy and inviting. The highlight was undoubtedly the food - every dish was a real delight. The taste was rich and perfectly balanced, with fresh ingredients that made every bite a pleasure. The service was exceptional which made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended! 🫶
Valeriia K — Google review
David’s Bar & Restaurant offers a spacious and stylish setting with a nice atmosphere and well-designed bars, making it an inviting place for drinks. However, beyond the ambiance, the experience quickly goes downhill—especially when it comes to the food and pricing. The food was a major letdown. Out of our group of 14, 10 people found their meals disappointing, which speaks volumes about the quality. The club sandwich was bland and dry, lacking any effort to make it enjoyable. The Kroketten van Helkamp consisted of two deep-fried clumps placed on a piece of bread—far from appetizing. The Chicken Katsu was mostly breading, with just 80 grams of dry chicken breast hidden beneath a thin layer of coleslaw. To make matters worse, the prices were quite high for what was served. I ordered a Diet Coke, which came in a tiny 200ml bottle. Adding to the frustration, I was the only one in our group who didn’t receive ice in my glass. Despite my attempts to get the attention of the staff, I was ignored, leaving me to force down a very dry meal with a small, lukewarm drink. Overall, while David’s has a great space and a promising setup, the overpriced, disappointing food and lack of attentive service make it a place I wouldn’t recommend. If you're just stopping by for a drink, you might enjoy the setting—but for a meal, look elsewhere.

Went here to get a bite to eat before a show. Totally worth it. The quality and portions of the dishes are totally in line with the price. Burger is tasty, yet slightly large to get into your mouth properly. Not a bad thing. The Philly Cheese steak is a lot. Good taste, nice bread, great presentation. The vibe is clean, and professional, with a slight touch of high-end. Exactly what you would expect at a studio location. Service is friendly and they don’t bother you with constant attention. A friendly wave and they are right there at your table. Definitely coming back if we decide to visit another show at the MediaPark.
Alex S — Google review
The food was good and the service was excellent. We went dining just before we needed to be on time at a recording in one of the studio's nearby. Unfortunately it was quite busy and our food took a long time. As we needed to rush and couldn't really enjoy it, the waitress was very sorry and offered free drinks. We had a 10% discount and a free parking ticket. Well compensated for a minor disturbance. That is real service!!!
Bastiaan M — Google review
We had the cheese Philly steaks and it was very burnt and tasted like charcoal and even without the overpowering charcoal taste there wasn't much flavour either just cheese and the bread was hard and over toasted as well. The restaurant is very stylish looking

Nestled in the charming town of Hilversum, Paisan Mediterranean Kitchen is a delightful culinary gem that brings the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean to life. This inviting eatery offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, from delectable mezze platters to perfectly crafted pita sandwiches paired with their renowned homemade hummus. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and intimate dinners.
I’ve loved the polenta fries as much as the pumpkin ravioli. Delicious dinner, very cozy atmosfear and nice service

Amazing food and service. We went for their full spread menu and everything on it was top notch! The aubergine sabich was fantastic. Polenta fries are one of a kind! The sweet potato hummus was super rich and creamy. Highly recommend this place. Plenty of vegetarian options. They modified their platter for vegetarian palette. Thanks to the team for a pleasant evening

Great service with cozy atmosphere. We’ve shared some hummus and labneh plates. They were kind to offer us some dessert at the end of our meal. Baklava was not the best but the coconut balls out of oven were absolutely delicious.

Paisan has a GREAT proposition: food from the Mediterranean, which includes the European countries of course, but also Lebanon, Greece, Israel, Turkey and many others. That allows for a tasty mix of flavours, ingredients, and influences. The place is very cozy, personnel is super kind (although very busy on the night we visited), only the drinks were a bit underwhelming. Recommended if you're in the area!

Good Pita place. Chicken is tender, flavours are present, pita is soft. Highly recommend. Wanna try Sabikh next time. I would say that its little bit pricy, minus 20% on price would made this place perfect.
Glib P — Google review
Came back after 2 years not visiting this place. Prices went crazy up but food quality/quantity went opposite. Can’t agree more with what I read below. Plates are half full, service is unfortunately bad. Table was not set, got told they will clean it, this didn’t happen, got cutleries after food was served, had to please 3-4 times to get napkins. €130 bill for a few plates and drinks. You have way better restaurants in town, less ‘fancy’ but definitely way better quality food and sense of service. Won’t come back. I would highly suggest the Mediterranean options on the Havenstraat.

Poor service , very poor. They served the food with no side plate for each of the eaters. Additionally no cutlery was brought until food was there. Napkins ? Why would you need those ... they brough 1 napkins for 4 people , had to ask 3 times !! For this expensive price, poor service and little amount of food you better go to a different place. Not coming again.

For those unfamiliar with Indonesian fare, the Rijsttafel is highly recommended, providing a diverse selection of dishes.
A pleasant, intimate restaurant in a quiet, residential area. The rijstafel dishes had good texture and flavour, and the service and atmosphere were pleasant. You can see why it has earned a Michelin 'Bib Gourmand'

If you are seeking a dining experience that combines exclusivity with affordability, this establishment is highly recommended. The location is ideal. I embarked on a leisurely stroll through the natural surroundings near my residence and promptly arrived at my intended destination. The staff members possess a high level of product knowledge. They exhibit professionalism and kindness in their interactions. However, I find the wait time for the food to be quite lengthy. There is room for improvement, I must say. Additionally, the proximity of the tables is such that I am able to distinctly overhear the conversations of neighbouring diners. The quality of the food was satisfactory. I would recommend making a reservation prior to your arrival. I intend to return in the future.
