Very cool, atmospheric place! Today we just walked. Tomorrow we plan to go skiing through the forest. The beginning of the year is simply magical and I hope the whole of 2025 will be like this! Happy New Year!

We were there in August and the weather was pleasant. There is an open cable car with room for six people, it leaves every half hour. When you get to the top with the cable car, there is the option of doing an experiential walking trail for children called the Fox Trail. There is a restaurant from where the cable car leaves, both below and above.
Sivan R — Google review
Well organized and reasonably priced. Limited for beginners but great for the intermediate crowd. A thriving town nearby (5 minute walk) for accommodation and apres ski activities. Considered the top ski resort in the Czech Republic expect crowds at the lift lines during holiday periods.
Michael A — Google review
Nice place in the heart of Czechia. Driving to the location is not easy - it take a long time due the Czech streets are not the best sometimes and of course it’s in the middle of nowhere. It’s a tourist spot you roughly see residents. The town snd villages around only have 1000 citizens. The people are nice and they are prepared to serve tourists. In summer it’s a good place for hiking and enjoying the nature. You can hike the hills around use the cable car to go on the top of the mountains and much more. Nature is good and breath taking. I can imagine that during winter seasons it’s crowed and full with people. It’s a common skiing spot. Hotel prices are upper end - especially in the winter seasons.
Minh — Google review
Lots of places to visit in the summer some nice walking trails ranging from 13k upto 33k. Don't forget to stop off for goulash and a beer
Steve D — Google review
Very nice ski resort, lovely to go on a hike in the summer, overall a very nice place to go to. The prices are nowhere near what Austria charges. For people who love skiing it is a very good place. Honorable mention to people who love hiking for which it is also a very good place.
Adam M — Google review
Nice ski resort - even during the summer. Absolutely beautiful countryside. Very well maintained mountain pathways with informative signposts about the area and fun activities for the kids jotted along the way. Good public transport around the resort and up the mountains. Good parking within the resort (paid).

The best place for ski in Czechia. I know this place since 1997 and I was there nearly every year. Nice modern resort which is developing every year. They upgrading slopes, lift and all shops bars, generally all infrastructure every year. Town is very nice and cosy. Lots to do there no matter winter or summer. Highly recommend this place

A nice attraction in the area for children and not only. Children enjoyed it very much. Paid parking. One round takes about five minutes. There is an adventure park nearby.

Great and compared to other similar rides very long and worth the money

The slides are really fun, there are even 2 small tunnels that go through them. And the track is relatively long compared to other slides we've been on. It's possible for an adult to sit together with a child up to 140 cm tall on the slide. It's possible to control the speed with a stick.

Bodies of Water
Elbe Dam is a stunning destination that offers visitors a unique way to experience the beauty of Spindleruv Mlyn during the summer months. You can rent boats or Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP) right from the parking area, allowing you to glide across the serene waters and take in breathtaking views. Built between 1910 and 1914 primarily for flood protection, this impressive structure stands at 41.
Amazing view. You can walk and lie on the grass for a mini picnic. Swimming is also allowed. You can also ride a zip line right there.
Valentina G — Google review
The Elbe Dam provides a quick visit point with stunning vistas from several angles. Sadly, when we visited the pathway down the dam was closed but still the bridge and side path views were very pleasant. The parking here is free.
Marta S — Google review
A very impressive point of interest in the area. A dam structure with interesting architecture. The view of the river is simply perfect, relaxing and mesmerizing. There are many attractions in the area such as Omega, cycling trails and more. Free parking on site!
Eddy T — Google review
Elbe Dam was built between 1910 and 1914 mainly to protect from floods. It is the highest level of the system of water works on the Elbe. It captures the majority of snow water in the central part of the Krkonoše Mountains . A small hydroelectric power station has been operating in the dam since 1994. Dam is 41.5 m high, 153,5 m long, 55 m width. Water reservoir - 40 ha area, 1. 2 km length. Water seems to be rather very clean. It is a wonderful hiking area, around 3,5 km from the center of the Spindleruv Mlyn. Views are absolutely beautiful. Be careful when crossing the main road. There is not much pavement with cars speeding up. Parking close to the dam is small but free.
Kamila Ś — Google review
A nice piece of nature. A quite, clean river, near the river (lake even, the water flow is extremely slow), there are many picnic spots. The dam has a great view point, and parking was free and accessible. There is a nice zip line activity for children near the bridge. Would definitely recommend to come there with some food and sit near the water on the soft grass.
Yoad5761 — Google review
There was no water in the Dam so it’s ended up like a regular walk. Since we went there on a public holiday there were no shops too. If you are visiting by car there’s a probability that car parking might be full.
Arannya K — Google review
Amazing view of the dam. The water is green and full of carp they splash around when you walk across the bridge. On the other side of the dam there is a zipline and abseiling guy. Carparking is easy directly off the road
HARNESS84 _ — Google review
Good for chill walk around the water reservoir. You have even opportunity to use slide to the other side for reasonable price.

National park
Krkonoše National Park, a UNESCO-listed biosphere in the Czech Republic, is a mountainous paradise with 145 named mountains and the country's highest peak, Sniezka. The park offers well-marked hiking trails through diverse ecosystems of woods, meadows, and valleys. Visitors can enjoy stunning natural attractions like Mumlava Waterfall, which transforms with the seasons.
A wonderful national park full of recreational opportunities. There are countless hiking trails in the area with rocks, lakes, forests, and formations suitable for rock climbing. Several routes have hiking trails (with many steps, narrow crevices, ladders) and easy access for strollers. This region is worth exploring.

Słonecznik is a well-known rock formation in the Giant Mountains, featuring impressive 12-meter-high granite pillars that stand out against the surrounding gentle slopes. The Weg der Freundschaft trail leads to this picturesque spot, offering sweeping views and a perfect place to stop for lunch. While the path may require careful footing, it's a beautiful place to rest and enjoy the landscape.
This picturesque spot is perfect if you do enjoy brewing your own coffee while hiking. You can easily shelter the burner from the wind and sip your fav brew in no time. However, it might get crowded at times as it is a good resting spot.
Łukasz K — Google review
For us, it was a 4 hours trip to get there, to see some big rocks on each other with nice view. The view was the best part, rest was nothing special.

Locale friuli

Restaurant
Locale Friuli is a popular dining destination that caters to tourists and families alike. The cuisine, consisting of pizza, pasta, steaks, risotto, and accompanied by fine wines and drinks, consistently impressed visitors with its quality. However, some patrons found the older staff members to be aloof and dismissive. On the other hand, the younger waiters were friendly and engaging, often checking in to ensure customers enjoyed their meals.
This delicious spread is a feast for the senses! The vibrant spaghetti with shrimp and fresh veggies looks perfectly cooked and flavorful. The pizza, with its golden, melted cheese and a touch of basil, is utterly tempting. Paired with a warm cup of coffee, this meal is a harmonious blend of comfort and indulgence. A delightful dining experience for sure!
MaYeD — Google review
We are here for the 2nd time during our short 4day ski trip and we would definitely come back again next time because the atmosphere is cozy, the food is delicious, beer is tasty and the service is nice. We ate carpaccio, potato chips, prawns, beef steak and lamb chops (not in one sitting of course!) and everything was delightful! Highly recommended!
Barbora S — Google review
Food is not the best. Pizza below average, like some supermarket frozen pizza, salty gnocchi. Chicken wings were good. Place is nice and clean with lovely staff.
Yara E — Google review
Wonderful! We went for lunch after a hike and enjoyed this place very much. Sitting outside was very pleasant and everything was clean and well-presented. My wife had the Dorada fish (Gilt-head bream) which was amazing, cooked in salted butter on a bed of vegetables. I had a classic burger with fries and a few Pilsners...because why not? The service was great and the waiter was impressed that we could speak a little Czesky... je to takové jaké to je ;) I really enjoyed the fact that as soon as your glass is empty, it will magically be refilled again in mere seconds. Great stuff! Later in the evening we ordered two pizzas for take out, which, much like lunch, was very tasty. I would certainly visit again and would recommend to anyone.
N B — Google review
Yesterday me and my family were in the mood for pizza and found this wonderful spot. It was so good we came back today. We loved teh homemade lemonades (raspberry and strawberry). All the pizzas we got was splendid (La Scala, Salame, etc.). We also tried the fried potato with cream sauce and blue cheese sauce and they were delicious and served hot!!! Wait time might be a little long but it is worth it for the delicious food. Our waiter was a wonderful man who the made the experience all that much more pleasant!
A K — Google review
The live music was a great addition to the tasty burgers and diverse selection of homemade lemonades. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!
Robert B — Google review
The owner/manger invited us after we had no good experience at other Restaurant… He was very busy but satisfied our needs. Great selection of international and Italian Cuisine as well a good selection of Italian wine. Ambience was great… The waiters could not cope properly with the full restaurant, he forgot firstly to bring the wine, then the second order of water and the pizza of our kids…. Anyhow… this restaurant is fine and in the end they manage it even with an apology… we will come next time back.
Yachtswiss S — Google review
The place looks nice, more on the fancy side. I went there off the season, but it was still visited by people. The prices are on the higher end, but they have a decent variation of food and drinks. The staff don't really put a price on customer service. The cocktails had (way) too much ice, etc Everything considering, i feel like 3 stars is the best way to sum it up

Restaurant
To begin, the cuisine at Restaurace Lebeda was excellent. I started with a mushroom soup and then sampled their turkey, pork belly, and lamb dishes. Although the lamb was slightly dry, it still had a pleasing flavor, and everything else was superb. The interior of the restaurant was tidy and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, there were some drawbacks such as the absence of disabled access entrance and fast-paced service.
Perfect experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant and relaxing with very nice and professional staff, great environment to eat good food :). The food itself was AMAZING! very high quality ingredients, all the dishes were well spiced and balanced in taste. we ate the mixed salad with goat cheese, dumplings with smoked meat and the deer steak, everything was extremely tasty especially the deer steak!!! a must have! a bit pricey but you definitely get good value for what you pay. 5/5!

Amos A — Google review
„Lebeda – A Culinary Gem of Špindlerův Mlýn” We had dinner at Lebeda Restaurant in Špindlerův Mlýn, and it was an absolute culinary delight – we’ll definitely be back! From the very first dishes, it was clear that everything is made from top-quality ingredients, fresh, fragrant, and handled with real care. We started with Rabbit brawn with marinated shallots, bread horseradish and pumpkin oil – a surprisingly refined combination of flavors. The rabbit meat was lean, slightly spicy with a gentle sweetness, while the pumpkin-seed oil added a touch of richness. We could taste an intriguing, unfamiliar spice note in the finish. The texture was beautifully delicate, not dense or heavy. Next came Marinated beef Entrecote lightly cold smoked with rosemary oil, tomato tartare, sheep’s cheese – pure perfection. The beef was of the highest quality, thinly sliced, tender, with a subtle smoky note. The sheep cheese was rich yet not greasy, and the tomato salad with rosemary oil added a fresh contrast – though, in my opinion, just a bit too much oil. For the main course, we had the Fallow deer steak from back with baked vegetables, potato purée and demi-glace sauce, cooked rare. The waiter even thanked us for that choice – and he was right. It was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. The meat literally melted in the mouth, incredibly tender and juicy – even the best beef steak can’t compare. Perfect texture, exceptional flavor, velvety mashed potatoes and perfectly seasoned vegetables – a flawless dish. We also tried Potato dumplings stuffed with smoked pork meat, served with stewed caramel cabbage and fried onion. The dough was soft and delicate, the filling lightly crisped and aromatic. The caramelized cabbage was phenomenal – a side dish that could easily steal the show. For dessert, we had Plum sauce ravioli served with butter, cottage cheese cream and grated chocolate and Strawberry dumplings with butter, grated cottage cheese and strawberry sauce. The plum ravioli were distinctly sweet – one of us absolutely loved them, while for the other they were a bit too sweet. The strawberry dumplings, however, were a total hit – light, soft, perfectly sweet, with the cottage cheese adding the perfect touch. As a lovely surprise, we were offered a glass of Slivovitz – a very nice and thoughtful gesture to finish the meal. It’s absolutely worth driving a bit out of the center – at Lebeda, they cook with heart, passion, and deep respect for every ingredient. Outstanding experience – we’ll definitely be back!

Our favourite dinner place in town. What should have been a full family Valentine’s dinner turned into a dad-daughter meal, which the staff made into a special occasion, being friendly and attentive. We managed to get a table on the balcony, enjoying the view and ambience. The dishes were delicious and substantial, but we managed dessert by skipping starters.
Gavin F — Google review
We have visited restaurant Lebeda twice during our stay. It is located in a cozy building close to the centre, up on a hill, among the trees. Cozy and warm inside. Service very professional and kind, young waiter went an extra mile! We enjoyed the wine and every dish we tasted. Both soups from the menu were delicious. Great steak, beetroot carpaccio, rostbef and amazing deserts! I truly recommend this place!
Anna S — Google review
We ordered duck pate with liver, Rabbit brawn with marinated shallots, Potato dumplings stuffed with smoked pork, Baked gnocchi with spinach, Marinated roasted pork belly and one bottle of Gala Sauvignon Hermes. All food was very delicious (Potato dumplings stuffed with smoked pork and Rabbit brawn with marinated shallots was the best) and the wine was very good with food.
Juraj H — Google review
It is a nice place. They really make the best "kyselo" (local special soup made from sourdough starter) I've ever had in the pub. Main course I had pork belly with cabbage. Very decent ;). I was deeply satisfied. Maybe one thing. They have big wine list, but only one type of beer. I'd like to have some IPA or sour ale to pair it with these fine meals. Maybe next time ;)

Took forever to serve the food and low service level. We ordered food in the busy lunch break and they said we would have to wait 30 min. So we wait and after 45 minutes ask how come it’s not ready yet, when we see other people who ordered after us, getting their food. The waiter looked puzzled and checked with the kitchen and said 5 min would pass. Another 10 minutes and still no food. Another check with the waiter and finally some food arrived. No excuse for the late food or the obvious fact that they had forgotten about our order. At least they could have offered something extra for the wait, but just looking in the ground. Bad service. Will never go there again

Restaurace ORANGE le MOON in Spindl is a stunning dining establishment that offers a nearly perfect experience. The ambiance, elegant furnishings, and innovative cuisine make it truly remarkable. The menu is so extensive that it would take several evenings to fully explore. Instead of traditional main courses, the restaurant offers a delightful alternative of various small dishes which are not only delicious individually but also satisfying when combined. Although slightly expensive, the quality and taste of the food justify the price.
Great atmosphere. Great art and music. Our server Martin, was personable, fun, and sociable. The food was great but Martin made it even better. He served us for dinner, lunch and breakfast and made the restaurant and hotel became more friendly and a destination spot because of his personal touch. I’m sure we bought more because of him. Definitely will return.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with The Timber Trail, Krkonoše, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Pramen Labe. All together, your day would be filled with about 9 hours of non-stop fun.

Observation Decks & Towers
The Timber Trail in Krkonoše offers a unique experience with its tall, tornado-shaped tower providing panoramic forest views and a thrilling slide down from the top. Families will find it a worthy visit, as there is a great playground for children and a restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. The trail also features an educational path leading to the impressive view tower. While buying tickets online is recommended to avoid long queues, visitors can enjoy the friendly staff at the shop and restaurant.
Nice adventure, walking high as the tree tops. Very accessible and very friendly to kids and adults. The trail itself is enjoyable, the slide down is a must, also for adults (not scary at all as i thought), and afterward, there is a large playground for kids and a nice shop with many wood items.
Tomer Y — Google review
While initially skeptical of the price, the attraction turned out to be a fair bit more than just going up a wooden tower. There's a little walk which contains a fun few little challenges. The walk features a lot of little facts and information throughout, with the base of the tower acting as a mini museum about soil and tree biodiversity and whatnot. The gift shop was actually quite alright, better than the conventional one at least. The slide is sold separately from the entry, but it isn't too much. A fun little thing, definitely if with family.
Hubert M — Google review
It was a great experience, the more fun part is they also have netted cage where you get in and enjoy, felt like kid again. The ramp is not so step so easy to access with stroller as well. Pros: - Stroller and wheelchair can be taken up easily. - Lot of fun and play items along the way. - Amazing view point. May be during snowfall would be even beautiful. Cons: - no washroom inside you’ve to come out and exit.
Viswesvar S — Google review
Beautiful and very unique place!! There is short trial that guides you through with some educational facts in how they build it. The tower is VERY impressive and has a trampoline and a long slide in it. The restaurant and the playground is super cute as well!

A nice hike that opens up a view of spectacular views of the area. Paid parking on site. There are many other attractions in the area such as cycling, hiking trails, a cable car ride to the top of the mountain, and more.

The Ski Resort Černá Hora is a popular destination in the Czech Republic, known for its impressive ski slopes spanning over 50km. It also offers exciting bike and scooter rides through beautiful woods and meadows during the summer months. Situated near the Polish border, this resort boasts several kilometers of well-prepared ski trails, with one particularly exceptional run stretching 3km beneath the Angel lift. The resort features four restaurants, ensuring visitors have plenty of dining options to choose from.
This is my first time skiing and the team of Bara, Lynka and Veronica made it excellent amidst the delays and last minute change in places for us. The coach Petr was excellent and went an extra mile to cover the time we lost and also with patience trained our children well.
Rajesh B — Google review
Very good place to be. Over all it is very clean and nice, it was mostly empty (probably because it's July). I recommend buying tickets in advance as it is quite a bit cheaper rather than in place.
Adam M — Google review
Generally, ski pass is not the cheapest, and you have to spend a lot of time queuing. Good for 2- 4 days max. Views depend on the weather, if no snow, your experience will be terrible.
Kamila Ś — Google review
Great views, well organized. In summer, get bike on top, its 8 km of fun on way down! Or you can go for mountain tops trek, about 40 km of breathtaking views and nature. In winter, it's skiers and snowboarding paradise
Lubor L — Google review
Skiing at SkiResort Cerna Hora was an absolute blast! It started off a bit rocky, as parking at the bottom was completely full, so we had to park a bit farther away. But the good news was that it was cheaper, and there was a free bus that took us around the slopes. We also had the chance to borrow a sleigh, which was a ton of fun. The highlight of the day was taking the cable car up the mountain. It cost us 170 CZK for the kids and 225 CZK for adults, but it was worth every penny! The ride was surprisingly long, and the scenery was simply breathtaking. The landscapes and scenery were truly breathtaking. The powder snow was an added bonus, and the restaurants up and down the slopes were also great. Although, there were many people lining up at the cable car, which made it a bit crowded inside. We went twice and there were people sneezing, which was a bit concerning. The sledding was also a great experience, but we had to cross the slopes a few times where skiers and snowboarders were crossing. There were a few pits that made the sleigh fly high and hurt our backs, legs, and butts, but it was all part of the fun! In conclusion, skiing at SkiResort Cerna Hora was an absolute blast and we would definitely do it again next year!

Whoever is responsible for the price structure shall be sent back to the elementary school. The prices are high, no surprise, but the price structure is not supporting groups, families, interest/ professional groups - so it is aiming at the absent minded richies who do not require or mind the service. The idea of parking overnight being 2x more expensive than a daily rate certainly encourages long stays. The only plus is the functional Ski bus service.
Petr L — Google review
For this part of Central Europe, very good ski resort for a reasonable price (ca. 30-35€ per day). There are plenty of food stations. If just there is enough snow, mostly well prepared for skiing. Unfortunately, after 9am all parking slots are taken. Then parking is still possible as there are some other parkings a bit further.
Roman — Google review
One of the best ski resort in Czech. Close to Polish border. Ca.17 km several km of well-prepared ski trails. The best is about 3 km under the lift (pod Lanovką). The Angel lift opens the fastest at the turn of November and December. Very nice route with an even slope of about 1500 m. 4 restaurants .

The ski resort Ski Resort Bubákov Ltd. has received positive ratings for its neighbour slopes. It is particularly recommended for ski beginners due to its wide slopes and comprehensive facilities. As previously mentioned, the ski rental costs 500 czk, a 4-hour pass costs 650 czk, and parking is free. The slopes are well-maintained and in excellent condition for this time of year.
I already gave ratings to the neighbour slopes! But this is much better for ski starters. Very wide slope and everything you need. Ss i wrote before, 500 czk ski rental, 650 czk 4 hours pass, and parking free. Slope were in really good conditions for this time of the year

Hiking area
Pramen Labe is a popular hiking destination and the source of the Elbe River. It features public art and is one of the most visited localities in the park. Visitors can enjoy a great hike around this spring, which marks the start of the Elbe River. While it's not possible to ride directly to the spring, visitors can leave their bikes at Labska cottage and walk approximately 1.5 km to reach it.
Amazing place, ready great views over the Krkonose Mountains from this place. Went on mountain bikes to Labska bouda and walked from there, approx 900m.

Not much to see but it is special place. After all you don't often see the beginning of the river
Sabina K — Google review
I am amazed that this tiny water hole will become a big river crossing czechia and germany to the north sea. But I was hoping there is a drinking fountain , to try the fresh water from the spring but there is none, and the water in the hole is not that clean.
May P — Google review
Very busy but amazing place. Easily accessible (around 2 km) by taking a bus to Zlate Navrsi. We took a bus from Harrachov but there were other buses, e.g. from Rokytnice. On the was to Pramen Labe you can stop for a light food at Labska Bouda.
Lucie M — Google review
Nice walk from Vrbatova bouda to the Labe spring. Lots of people. Worth a visit, it's a must see in Krkonoše. Reserve all day to walk the whole track.
Jana G — Google review
It was a must for us as we are riding along Elbe and this is the start. But the hike around is just great. However, you cannot ride directly to the spring. You need to walk approximately 1.5 km on foot. On the other hand, you can leave your bike locked and hidden at Labská cottage - just ask for the keys in the restaurant.
Martin I — Google review
Symbolic spring of Labe near the real 300 m far away one. There are even erbs of the important cities Labe flows through on its almost 1,200 km long journey to the Northern Sea.

Not much to see, unless you are crazy about river sources. There is an artificial little pond, which is officially the source, and a stone wall with coats of arms of towns and cities that Elbe goes through...

Restaurant
Restaurace Karmela in Janske Lazne is widely regarded as the top eatery in the area. The diverse menu offers a range of delectable dishes that are definitely worth trying, including options like deer-steak, pork-tomahawk, and duck-confit. It is advisable to make reservations, especially during peak season or for larger groups. The restaurant is adorned with charming vintage skiing-themed pictures from the early 20th century that add to its unique ambiance.

Definitely the best restaurant in Janske Lazne. Every choice of the menu is worth to taste. My favorites: deer-steak, pork-tomahawk, duck-confitt ...and many more ;-) Don't forget to reserve places, if You intend to visit Karmela in bigger group, esp. in main season. Decorated with lovely pictures of old-fashioned skiing-style and local life, dated early XX century.

The food and service is excellent. Very friendly atmosphere. They play good music and the lighting is nice. The roasted chicken with mashed potatoes is juicy and flavorful. Try the cabbage soup, it is delicious. We highly recommend the pickled cheese appetizer. The desserts are homemade. We tried all 3 and will be back for more!

The place is nice, but the rest (food, staff) is just ok. Not bad at all, but don't expect a surprise. If you look for rather an international cruise than for local one this might be the place for you. Price a bit higher but similar to other places within the slightly overpriced region. Seating outdoor (next to a street) and inside as well. For parking use the huge central parking area nearby.

Mountain cabin
Restaurant
The mountain cabin Vosecká bouda is an antiquated, dimly lit, and somewhat stuffy establishment that exudes a certain charm. Despite offering a limited menu selection, this aspect is deemed inconsequential due to the satisfying taste of their dishes after arduous hikes in the mountains. Furthermore, compared to the busy arrival station near the ski lifts, Vosecká bouda is notably less crowded. The place boasts exceptional individuals, beer, and ambiance which exceeds expectations.
Really nice refugee on the Czech side. I’ve spent here only one night, but it was enough to tell that the place is very cosy, stuff super friendly, room and bathrooms clean and the price fits the standard, especially that breakfast is included in it. Really nice starting point for many trips. I would surely come back :) Ps. Dogs are welcome for additional fee, cash only payments (as everywhere on the Czech side).
Karolina F — Google review
We slept for one night in vosecka bouda. The sleeping part is horrible. One can call it authentic, but for us it was Extremely old, stairs, floors, doors, beds, carpet. It is all very, very old. Showers and toilet is quite Ok and at least clean. We stayed in a 5 beds-room, no.5. The room was located above the kitchen and there was a dominant smell of fried food in the room during the whole night. Heating was on - hot radiator ( end of July) and couldn’t be turned down, due to lack of a turning knob. So temp in the room was about 30 degrees, with 5 persons in a small room with only a small window to open. Only one sheet on this very old bed, not fixed, so like sleeping on a couch. No electricity plug in the room, only a plug in the restaurant to charge your phone eg. Obviously no internet ( which we actually liked). Restaurant was good, proper Czech food and very, very friendly personnel!
Dominique S — Google review
Surrounded by beautiful and breathtaking scenery, this hostel is full of surprises. Everything just looks from a previous era. You walk in and it feels like you have travelled back in time to late 70’s. The interior and the exterior looks vintage. After a long hike the food tastes even better. You can wash it down with a premium quality Czech lager. Bathrooms are very clean which, in my book, is a priority. Rooms are small and need to be ventilated before falling asleep. Smell can be troublesome for some people. You can only charge your devices downstairs, by the bar. Electric outlets don’t work in rooms (probably safety precaution). For breakfast, make sure to show up early because they don’t replenish when it is all gone. When the sky is clear in the night, you can literally see millions of stars.
Artur C — Google review
Old, dark, stuffy and old fashioned place but very charming in a way. Not much variation on the menu but that doesn't really matter. Everything tastes good after heavy mountain walks. 😉 Much less crowded here than the arrival station near the lifts.

Restaurant
Farma restaurant received high satisfaction from customers who were delighted with the delicious food and exceptional taste. The starter, consisting of Shrimps, was described as OMG super tasty and uniquely fresh. The main course was praised for its great flavor, presentation, and freshness. The dessert was highly enjoyable. While the restaurant may be slightly pricier than others in the area, it is definitely worth a visit. Additionally, patrons appreciated the mushroom soup and expressed interest in acquiring the recipe.
My husband and I recently visited FARMA, Steak and Fish Restaurant in Vrchlabí for an early dinner after a three-hour hike. We were quite hungry and looking forward to a good meal, and FARM did not disappoint. I ordered the Fish, specifically the Redfish (Okouník červený), accompanied by a fresh salad. The fish was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, and the salad was crisp and refreshing. My husband opted for the FARM burger with fries. The burger was juicy and well-seasoned, and the fries were crispy and delicious. Both meals were not only tasty but also beautifully presented. The attention to detail in both the preparation and presentation of the dishes was evident. The service was friendly and efficient, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a good time at FARMA, Steak and Fish Restaurant. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Vrchlabí.

Great tasting food in a nice cozy atmosphere. All the food we had was tasty. We had ordered broth soup, burger cooked to medium (flavorful and juicy), but the quesadilla was the best quesadilla I’ve ever had. Fantastic flavor profile. 🤤. Mumlava Falls is a picturesque alpine river cascade located in Krkonose National Park. In the fall, the park transforms into a colorful tapestry of red, orange, and gold, creating a vibrant backdrop for hiking adventures. Visitors can access the falls by hiking along marked trails through the forest. The paths offer different experiences, with one being narrow and leading through the woods while the other is wider and more accessible.
Goated beautiful waterfalls, very nice good walking track by the stream. Not too long and good for families and little kids. Easy parking next to the entrance but costs some money, overall crazy good waterfall would come again surely

So much beauty in one place. In a magnificent green forest lies a beautiful waterfall. Recommended for a visit. The road from the parking lot to the waterfall takes about fifteen minutes but goes along a well-maintained path through the forest and is very pleasant. There are various hiking trails in the area. There are several cafes to stop and refresh yourself.

The underground tour at the mining museum is highly recommended. It offers a fascinating experience that even children can enjoy. The tour guide is friendly and willing to answer any questions. Although the tour is conducted in Czech, foreign visitors are provided with audio guides to keep them informed throughout the journey. It's important to note that the temperature inside the museum is quite cool, around 7 degrees Celsius, so it's advisable to wear warm clothing.
It’s always good to go under the ground! The tour was great and interesting even for children and the lady who did the tour was lovely and happy to answer any questions. It was in Czech language but if you’re foreign you’ll get a audio guide and there are numbers so you’ll stay on track with everyone. Be aware you’re going underground there was about 7 degrees (in summer).

Szrenica is a picturesque mountain in the Karkonosze Mountains, offering stunning panoramic views and chair lifts to reach the summit. It's a popular destination for skiing enthusiasts with its well-maintained trails. The village of Szklarska Poreba, located at the foot of Szrenica, provides diverse accommodation options and numerous attractions for tourists.
A beautiful mountain peak with stunning views—if the weather cooperates! Unfortunately, we visited during heavy snow and fog, which made walking quite challenging. Thankfully, there’s a lift to take you up, but the cost is steep at €40 per person. While pricey, it’s a helpful option if you want to enjoy the area without navigating the tough conditions on foot.

Great hike to Szrenica after the waterfall! After visiting the waterfall, you can continue the trail toward Szrenica mountain. Along the way, there’s a hut where you can rest—but keep in mind they accept cash only. The hike is beautiful, and reaching the top is totally rewarding with amazing views!

Beautiful mountain with amazing panoramic views. There’s also a nice spot to rest and enjoy the view. A great place for hiking and taking photos. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area! 🌲

The walk up the mountain was alright, not very tiring. Based on the path you take (from the city) the forest path might be under construction

The Museum of Glass, also known as Muzeum Szkla, is a must-visit attraction in Harrachov. It features various glass vases and offers the opportunity to engrave or paint your own glass, which is highly recommended for a fun experience. While the museum itself is relatively small and primarily showcases different glass vases, visitors can explore it at their own pace. The information provided is mostly in Czech, making it slightly challenging for non-Czech speakers.
Quite a big shop with a wide selection of hand made and very interesting glass. If you want to shop for souvenir or add something to your own drinking glass collection this is the place for you. Both purely decorative pieces to be found here as well as for everyday use.
Dejris O — Google review
Great excursion with plenty of interesting information and history. Watching the masters of glass was a very impressive experience! It's worth visiting the museum, shop and local brewery as well! Excursions are starting every hour since 9am till 3pm.
Jakub P — Google review
A truly fascinating experience! The glass is still made in a very traditional way, which made the visit feel authentic and special. The combination of glassworks and brewery is a unique and well-executed concept. Our tour guide (a woman) spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable, answering even more in-depth questions with confidence. After the tour, we enjoyed a delicious beer from the on-site brewery. One tip: it’s worth asking in advance if an English-speaking guide will be available that day. We also would have loved to try the beer spa, but unfortunately, there were no slots left – so booking ahead is definitely recommended!

The museum itself is mostly different vases made from glass to see. Very pretty but not a must-see in my opinion. Information is in Czech mostly so for non-Czech speakers it's a bit hard. The tour of the factory is in Czech as well, only sometimes available in English if you pay extra and are with a bigger group, so we didn't do this. There is an option to engrave or paint your own glass and I would really recommend this! Was a lot of fun. You pay for the glass (I paid 150 Czk for a wineglass) and they provide the necessary tools. Also the small cafe has some nice cake, tea and coffee!
Julia B — Google review
Super cool tour, although only in Czech and German. You not only get to see the glassworkers working from a gallery at the top, but even get to go on the floor and see the work close up.
Katerina K — Google review
The excursion in the longest continuously open glass factory in Europe (and probably even in the world) is gorgeous. It's interesting to see the proces very closely. Free beer or nonalcoholic drink included in the price of the ticket is a nice bonus. And they have fantastic home made raspberry limonade in the cake shop in museum building. :-)

Ski resort
The Innogy line St. Peter offers an exhilarating skiing experience that begins at the Horal-OREA Resort hotel parking lot. As you embark on this scenic trail, you'll find yourself traversing the historic Old Buchar road towards Snezka, with a unique opportunity to approach from the Polish side as you near your destination.
This resort saved us when we were looking for a place with decent supplemental snow after a warm December and January across Northern Central Europe. It’s no wonder that it was voted the best resort in Czech Republic for the past seven years. Since there was not much snow, we mostly heard Czech being spoken, with small sprinkles (like 10% of the people) speaking German, Spanish and Danish. There were no lines. Only three of the runs were open, but they were long. A beautiful view from up top with a restaurant as well.

Great and fast skiing with fast track as well nice restaurant. Also a separate Champagner lounge available, but wrong label for us…:-) anyhow, everybody is helpful, friendly you will find a high hygienic standard from restaurant to the rest rooms. Taxi-Service available at the entrance…

Nice elevator. The slopes were nice at the moment I visited. The queues were short at bad weather. But once the sun was back there was a pretty long queue. This location has 2 other elevators and one was not open at the moment of visit.

Very well prepared pistes - even though it was the end of the season and spring was in the air there was a lot of snow of good quality. The pistes are wide and picturesque. Even the red slopes are good for beginners. At the bars (bottom and top) you do not have to wait and there is always plenty of stuff to choose from. Ski lift entrance is extremely wide and the line moves very very fast.

Nestled within a sprawling recreation area, Herlíkovice Ski Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in the Czech Republic. It offers a variety of slopes suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. In addition to winter sports, the resort provides opportunities for hiking and cycling during the summer months. Visitors can enjoy wide slopes ideal for beginners as well as more challenging trails for advanced skiers.
On my businesstrip i had one day free, so i decided to go skiing because the weather was really beautiful. So for german conditions this complete day was very cheap. Rent ski around 500 czk, 4 hours lift pass 650 cz, parking free! The slopes are really wide and good for beginners like me. All the stuff are friendly and support you whereever something is needed. But see by urself, pictures give you more overview!

Good blue slopes for kids and learners. Didn't enjoy any level of slopes on snowboard, possibly it's going to be better on skies. It may be because of poor weather conditions, but no snowblowers were running to improve the slopes...on Saturday. Decent dining places, pretty packed tho. Parking spots are filled by about 10am. Upside is the skipas is cheaper of all the resorts in the area.

Our favourite ski resort in Krkonose for weekend skiing. Nice wide slope for small kids and beginners in upper part of Bubakov and red trail for advanced skiers from Zaly hill. Free parking and wide choice of reastaurants and bistros.

Several great slopes, red and blue. Black is pretty short and runs into a rather sharp red. Connects with Bubakov and ski passes are usable at both. Ski school for kids are great at both Herlikovice and Bubakov.

I really enjoyed this ski region. Good, well-kept tracks, nice pubs and rest areas.
Sarmite B — Google review
Disappointing coloring system of the slopes. You might start with a blue and on the way it gets red quite often. Which of course is not nice experience for people that are trying to learn. On top of that the worst part is that regardless what color you are gonna pick. In the end it gets quite challenging. Don't know how Czech mountains are but I have never experienced such approach for novice skiers.

Medium sized friendly ski resort. There is about 5 different slopes you can go on in winter. In the summer this is a good starting point for many walk in Krkonoše. The ski lift operates in summer as well (every hour) so you can save yourself a treck up the hill and get straight to the tops to carry on with your walks in direction of Špindlerův Mlýn or Benecko just to name the most obvious options. In August you can find bilberies in the woodlands and the mushroom season is also starting around now (depending on the weather!). The resort is also very near the lovely town of Vrchlabi which has beautiful historic centre with a small chateau and a park. There is many B'n'B s around - be sure to make a booking in winter, summer is a lot less busy. I can personally recommend Penzion 444 in Herlikovice where I have stayed many times! They also have a Penzion 222 nearer the town centre if that is your thing!

Glass Factory and Brewery Novosad & Son is a must-visit destination in Szklarska Poreba. The restaurant offers authentic Czech cuisine, including delicious ribs and schnitzel, complemented by a variety of tasty local beers. Visitors can also experience the living glassworks and take a tour of the factory, which is available in both Czech and English. The adjacent glass museum showcases beautiful items, adding to the overall experience.
First thing this restaurant has an English speaker which helped us a lot . The food is self is real Czech food, everything that we ordered came from a kitchen who is very familiar with the Czech kitchen. The ribs needs some hot spice but in the end everyone finished the plate, the kid’s of course took schnitzel 😏, the light beer was very tasty and I took a non-alcoholic beer which is matched to the food

Interesting tour, very friendly guide. Not available in our language (Dutch) so we choose German. Guide really made sure to talk slowly so we could understand. On other days they have English guides too, and they have printed out papers with translation to other languages. Very cool to see the craftsman and women work the glass!

Very interesting to see a real life glass blowing workshop, the food is good, beer is very good and the shop is dangerously awesome. The guide should speak a bit slower and try to articulate in English when kids are in the group (it was a little hard to follow her even for adults). They could improve the museum a bit (add some videos of different glass blowing techniques, put up more info in English as well, add years to the exhibits). I got the wrong order at the restaurant and there wasn't even an apology. The ladies toilet was run down an rather dirty...

Nestled in the enchanting landscape of Harrachov, Mumlavská Bouda is a charming spot that captures the essence of traditional Czech hospitality. This delightful establishment offers visitors a unique experience with its picturesque setting near a waterfall, making it an ideal retreat after a day of exploring the surrounding forests. The ambiance is warm and inviting, reminiscent of an old-school pub where you can unwind with friends or family.

Self service restaurant with a few local dishes . Make sure you have local currency otherwise they take a huge commission if you pay in Euros!! Would recommend for a quick snack/ice cream not for lunch though, but there are many good options outside of this area.

The food is an absolute disaster, no other words to describe it. By all means not relevant for family with kids, no food for children at all. Location is fantastic, literally on top of the waterfall. Coming over here for a beer in the balcony, listening to the flowing water is very nice, very recommended. Coming here to eat - STRONGLY ADVICE not to do it. Prices are very cheap.

At Česká hospoda, Josef creates a delightful atmosphere in the restaurant. He is extremely talkative, speaking multiple languages fluently, and offers excellent food recommendations. The traditional Czech cuisine is heavenly and the portions are massive, bursting with flavor. This restaurant stands out as the best in the area compared to others tried by patrons. The menu includes succulent ribs, chicken in mushroom sauce served with potato pancakes, and karkonosky ogen.
Dishes like golonka with horseradish and mustard, knedlíčky with cranberry sauce, or fried cheese were absolutely delicious! I truly appreciated the incredible atmosphere and the wide variety of local dishes! The experience was further enriched by an impressive selection of local alcoholic beverages, including beers!

We went here for dinner. We had the onion rings and pickled cheese as appertizers. They were very good, the sauce with the onion rings was different and the pickled cheese was also very good and something new for us. Then we had the fish and me the roast duck. The fish was good but the roast duck was really sublime. I did not care that much for the dumplings with the duck, i've had better during our stay in Czech republic but like i said, the duck itself was incredibly good. The red cabbage was also very good. The waiters were also very friendly, polite, even allowed us to switch tables etc. One of them made a few jokes. All in all a very good experience.

Botta Caffé comes highly recommended for its exceptional cuisine and intriguing ambiance. The meals chosen were delightful and can be confidently recommended to others. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement. Out of the five waiters, only one consistently smiled at customers, excluding the payment process. Additionally, the glossy dark elements of the interior should be cleaned more frequently to remove dust buildup.
This local restaurant serves really nice traditional food at times We always enjoy coming here when in town the food is nicely presented, flavorful, and comforting. This place was recommended to us due to its perfect cuisine. It is a really interesting place to wisit. We were delighted with the meals chosen and can recommend them to others. Few suggestions for improvement - only one waiter out of 5 was smiling at customers (except of payment), glossy dark details of the interior should be cleaned from dust more often and huge aquarium which should bring wow effect to the customers at the entrance is showing plenty of not really nice scratches.

Friday, April 14, 2023 - 7PM Excellent food fast and super friendly staff! 5 stars all over except the atmosphere because of a group of German tourists. I am a Dutch guy living in Germany with my Czech wife and son, so understood everything that group spoke about. First of all: I think it's rude, to just keep on talking German to locals abroad and assume, they understand you! Stuff like "hahahaha, look how cheap it is" or "it's bad, they don't have the menu in German" is a disgrace! Eating like maniacs and splitting a bill is another no go but a real terrible idea is, to check all items on the bill, complain about the prices and even claim, not having had something which was written on the bill and tipping 10 CZK on a total amount of over 1000 CZK... Liebe deutsche Touristen, 1.) Rede Englisch wenn ihr kein tschechisch verstehen könnt wie wir. 2.) Benimmt euch wie Erwachsene. Habt Respekt für lokaler Wahrung und Benimmregeln

Sněžka is a popular hiking destination located on the border of Poland and the Czech Republic, boasting the title of being the highest peak in the Czech Republic. Hiking to the top from the Polish side is recommended with proper shoes due to steep slopes, although there are less tiring but longer trails available as well. It's advisable to bring your own food and water since there are no facilities at the mountain top.
Entered through the Czech side of the mountain using the lift. Weather conditions were exceptional, as shown in the pictures. It is definitely worth visiting for the views alone. Be warned, parking on the Czech side is a nightmare. You will have to park a few kilometers away and take the ski bus.

We visited on a foggy day, the cablecar was even closed half way to the mountain top due to strong winds, so we hiked there. The path is not very long, some 6km in total. Expect lots of steep stairs and some hard ice, even in the Spring time. Even though, we couldn't see much, view wise, we still enjoyed the short adventure. Make sure to bring warm clothing... It felt like - 10 at the top due to the strong winds. The nearby parking is paid and around 1km away from the cable car station but there is a nice side trail following the water stream.

If you are a Lego fan, then you will definitely enjoy this museum. I enjoyed seeing all the Lego sets from my childhood 70s/80s and the highlight being the Star Wars room. My young son had a lot of fun lighting up the displays and operating the trains, planes, cable cars, rockets etc.

Very impressive exhibition of interactive lego scenes that are setup with lighting, music and sound effects. These are like the scenes you see in Lego advertisements that almost no one builds in real life. It is interactive in the in most of the exhibits you can press a button or joystick that you’d typically see in a model train museum. There are frames on the wall showcasing how legos have changed over the years and they also have many of the massive legos like the Titanic, Millenium Falcon and others. I didn’t see the Star Wars ATAT robot. There’s a small play area which didn’t gave many legos to play with and only had space for about 5 kids to play. Important to note - all the exhibits are behind glass like an art museum but you can get close to everything. This multi floor exhibit has many rooms on each floor. The kids will love it. Mine spent 1 hour on the exhibits and 1 hour playing. They’d stay longer but it was the afternoon already and lunch had yet to be had, so to avoid the, you know, disaster, we left to eat. There were a few groups in there but there was no wait and we didn’t have to wait to see any exhibits. Warning - legos are for sale at the entry. And you know your kids will want to buy EVERYTHING.

Černá hora

4.7

Mountain peak
Černá hora, located in the Czech Republic, is a mountain known for its resort offering various winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and tobogganing. The ski season typically opens here in December with good snowfall and well-maintained slopes. Visitors can enjoy long or short trips on the mountain, taking the cable car for easy access or following the asphalt road.
Amazing route for both mountainbikers and hikers. I cycled most of it, until the sign, where the last really steep hill is (If you have a proper mountainbike and up for a challenge, go ahead). The rest of the hike was easy, because the top of the mountain is quite flat. The weather wasn't in my favour, so I didn't really get a nice view as a reward for my effort :(
Niek J — Google review
Quite big ski resort. Ski pass isn't that cheap in the winter season. There are plenty of people close to the weekends. Good option for ski/snowboarding for a 3- 4 days maximum. In the summer, you can go for a hike and see much more in the Karkonosze National Park.
Kamila Ś — Google review
Great for kids! Lift was quite expensive but view was amazing and it had a lot of children’s play stuff at the top and a child-friendly restroom

The Vrchlabi Chateau is a pleasant chateau in a picturesque setting, surrounded by a spacious park. The chateau houses the municipal office and has limited exhibitions, mainly consisting of historical trophies displayed in the foyer. However, the true highlight lies in exploring the beautiful park and enjoying breathtaking views of the chateau. Visitors can also make use of paid parking conveniently located nearby. Additionally, there is a peaceful duck pond within the park that provides a serene environment for walkers to enjoy.
About the only gig in town . Once you've walked around it thats about it . But I can't fault it's architecture and upkeep . Nice .

Nice chateau with large park. There is a municipal office in the chateau, therefore there is no exhibition inside except few historical trophies in the foyer. Nevertheless, the walk in the park worth it and the views of the chateau are very nice. When you are in the area, spare some time and visit the park. Paid parking is right next to the chateau (10 Czech crowns per hour, i.e. aprox. 0.25E).

Absolutely beautiful park and chatue. The duck pond is peaceful calm and walker’s delight. The park is maintained and good for dog walk too. Nearby city square offers small refreshment and grocery. Nearby church is elegant and to not forget to check the poetic fountain near church. Recommended day trip from Prague.

Basically a very okay lift and mountain area with a big playground for children. But once you are on top, you cannot take the lift down to Spindler Mühle whenever you want. Sometimes you need to wait for up to one hour before you are allowed to take the lift. Take care if you go there with little children!!!

Hutský Falls is a charming destination that offers an enjoyable hike, taking about 30 minutes to reach from the nearby village. Despite the rain during one visitor's trip, the journey was still captivating, enriched by historical insights available on information boards along the way. The falls are particularly stunning in autumn when nature showcases its vibrant colors. This picturesque waterfall is nestled among beautiful mountain scenery, making it a delightful spot for those who appreciate serene landscapes and leisurely walks.

Restaurant
Restaurace U Medvěda is a charming and affordable dining spot that captures the essence of Czech cuisine. With its cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a hunter's cabin, complete with stuffed animals like a giant bear at the entrance, it offers an inviting experience for all visitors. The restaurant boasts a diverse menu featuring traditional dishes that are both delicious and satisfying. Guests have praised the friendly staff and quick service, making each visit enjoyable.
Everything is good. Beautiful interior, good service, tasty food. The only downgrade is goulash. About 100 grams of meat with too much sauce and too much bread. Nice place overall

Typical Czech restaurant with rich dishes. Good choice of food and drinks. Nice service and a good price-performance ratio.

We came to this restaurant as a group, hoping for a good experience, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. Half of the items on the menu were not available. Because of this, we decided not to order anything. However, the waitress had already sent an order to the kitchen without confirming with us. When I asked her to stop the order, the restaurant still demanded that we pay, even though nothing had been brought to the table. This is not acceptable service, and we left with a very negative impression.

Great, cozy and affordable restaurant. We had some classic czech food and it was really delicious, staff members were very friendly and service was very quick. Bozkovské Dolomite Caves offer a unique underground adventure, featuring striking rock formations and a subterranean lake. The cave system is home to several bat species, adding to the allure of this natural wonder. Visitors can embark on hikes through the caves, immersing themselves in the depths of the forest ground. An interactive exhibition showcases the native flora and fauna of the Krkonose Forest, providing insight into the diverse ecosystem.
Beautiful cave system where a guide explains, and shows some beautiful rock formations. However, this was in Czech, but they had a great solution: a spoken tour in our own language (Dutch), and especially that it was in our own language pleasantly surprised me. The caves were amazing, with the high point at the end, an underground lake.

We've had a great tour through these caves under the guidance of a very friendly girl. She immediately noticed that we were foreign and brought us a tour guide device so that we could follow the tour in our mother-language. The temperature inside was lovely, if you ask me. But then, I like a low temperature in general. For people that are cold easily it's advisable to take a vest and perhaps wear long jeans. If you're in the region, this is a nice place to visit.
Tom A — Google review
It's worth visiting if you're in the area. But otherwise there are better tourist spots. Bring a hoodie or jacket since it's around 7-9 celsius inside.

Monika P — Google review
Great visit. The caves are very accessible because of the good pathways. You dont have to be scared, however bring a sweater or coat because it's 8 degrees Celsius in there. The tour lasts 40 minutes and we'll guided.
F.J. B — Google review
The caves are amazing and the surrounding area is very nice and quiet as well. Suitable for bigger groups too, as an outdoor/hiking activity. Tickets can easily be bought at the location, tours are scheduled beforehand, you will need to wait if you missed your window. There are no tours in English which might be a downside. Upon request they can provide an audio device in English, but at times it doesn't match and it is a bit difficult to follow. They instruct that there numbers to press as you advance, but not really. The Czech tour guy seemed pretty nice, he was joking and had a good story to tell (I assume O_o).

Today I was at the Giant Mountains Museum in the beautiful Jilmenice castle. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly lady at the castle's entrance. After we'd paid, she handed us very informative material on the castle and the different exhibitions within. It was available in German and English. After we went through the openly-accessible rooms of the museum, a friendly employee of the museum invited us to go on a tour through the former living quarters of the Harrach family, a part of the castle that is restricted to non-tour visitors. She had even brought English informational material, as the tour was held in Czech. The guide answered our questuions with a great degree of detailed knowledge - really great job! I can only recommend visiting the museum. Both the museum and the people working there make it a great experience! :)

Krkonošské muzeum - Čtyři historické domky

Museum
Krkonošské muzeum - Čtyři historické domky consists of two houses featuring exhibitions on local crafts and modern displays focusing on Krkonose nature. The monastery section offers interactive boards and activities for children, including a mini cave with flashlights. The houses have been beautifully restored, showcasing old items and crafts. One house provides activities for children on the first floor while the other serves as a cash register and information center.
(Translated by Google) If we are talking about the Krkonoše Museum, that 4 houses... It was nice. The best was the lady guide in the house with the old cabinets. Her explanation was great, our 6.5-year-old son was interested and entertained. My daughter, 3.5, enjoyed the interactive screen with animal sounds the most. We bought the entrance fee, a large circuit where there is a museum in a former church or monastery. This entrance fee is valid for 2 days! Which is something unreal these days and I definitely recommend it to all 10 🤩. You can walk there in no time. We went over by car, because we still stopped for lunch and then to the Aqua Center. The museum in the "monastery" is divine 🤩! From nature, through culture and traditions to the population of history and the present. You can play a game, on each circuit you have a panel where you stick a ticket and answer a question, the correct answers are added up. The reward is a good feeling for the total number of answers 😉. Unfortunately, I only found out about this possibility at the 4th panel, when I thought to myself, what is this and what is it for?😅🤣. We flew through the part devoted to the defense of the border and the subsequent removal of the Germans, the children did not enjoy it, although it was very interesting for me. However, the children liked the museum. The most expositions about nature, hunting, photos... There is also a cafe with good coffee and desserts. Attention! Payment in cash or via an app 🙈. Entrance to the museum can be paid by card. My si koupili vstupné, velký okruh, kde je muzeum v bývalém kostele či klášteře. Toto vstupné platí 2dny! Což je v dnešní době něco neskutečného a rozhodně doporučuji všemi 10 🤩. Pěšky tam jste za chvilku. My přejeli autem, jelikož jsme se ještě stavili na oběd a pak do Aqua centra. Muzeum v "klášteře" je boží 🤩! Od přírody, přes kulturu a tradice k obyvatelstvu historie a současnosti. Pozor! Platba v hotovosti nebo přes nějakou aplikaci 🙈. Vstupné do muzea se dá platit kartou.

The monastery part is rather more interesting for children, as there are also a lot of interactive boards. The children also liked using flashlights in the mini cave. I missed some steps in the washrooms, especially for small children.

(Translated by Google) divided into three parts, in one marked passage you buy tickets (postcards, maps, etc.), then you have to go out and into other rooms nearby, one to the right from the exit (flax processing, from seed to dyeing of fabric), very nice, everything very detailed, I didn't notice if it was multilingual. There are also examples of period furniture. The last room is dedicated to a local healer - I have my own opinion on that, negative, but someone believes in it, so why not. The second part is to the left of the entrance, an example of period life, uniforms, weapons, I suspect some kind of banner, on the upper floor unrelated wooden games for children with motifs from Pilar, then just stairs without the possibility of going up to the platform, here as if in the attic there are wooden period objects, toys, it seemed awkward. Very nice staff in all three parts. It would deserve much more space, it must be confusing for foreigners.

Čertak is a 50,000-capacity ski jump venue featuring one of the only five ski flying hills in the world. The closed mammoth ski jump offers impressive views, although the approach can be demanding. Visitors can explore the thresholds of each ski jumping hill and climb to the top using stairs. It's noted that Čertak is falling into disrepair, but it's still recommended for its historical significance and breathtaking vistas.

You can also go up with the ski lift and hike down the hill, or the other way around. Or hike up and down if you like. You'll find a small bar on top of the mountain, where you can buy food or drinks. And there are also "Toi toi-toilets" free to use. Down the hill there are several animations for children and plenty of bars and restaurants.

Recommend to go up on the lift and walk down on foot.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful ski jumping hills, but unfortunately they are in disrepair, but you can climb the largest mammoth ski jumping hill for free using metal stairs that are in excellent condition. From the very bottom of the ski jumping hill to the very top of this mammoth ski jumping hill, we have 938 steps to overcome, but after reaching the top, we are rewarded with a beautiful view. Čertova hora

Mountain peak
Čertova hora is a forested mountain in the Czech Karkonosze Mountains, offering a range of activities for visitors. In winter, it becomes a charming ski resort with chair lifts and stunning views. During summer, it transforms into a biking paradise with marked lookout areas. Accessible by hiking or cable car from nearby destinations like Harrachov and Rokytnice nad Jizerou, the mountain peak boasts beautiful viewpoints and refreshment kiosks.
Nice view and good option for trekking with kids.

Possible to get up the hill by cable car - also a way is going up. On top of Certova Hora is a small kiosk with tables. There are several ways to get walk/bike down. Beautiful and less crowded is the way to Harrachov via Janova skala and back on side of mountain.

(Translated by Google) We were there in mid-July. Up by cable car from Rýžoviště and down by foot to Harrachov over bridges. The trip was beautiful and thanks to the cable car, short and not very demanding. (Original) Byli jsme v půlce července. Nahoru lanovkou z Rýžoviště a dolů pěšky na Harrachov přes můstky. Výlet krásný a díky lanovce krátký a ne toliko náročný.

(Translated by Google) The view is fantastic. You can climb onto the abandoned ski jumps. It's a shame the zectacles are deteriorating, even though they were still operational 10 years ago. It's shocking that in such a short time, they were so affected. (Original) Widok super. Moznazwejsc na opuszczone skocznie. Aż szkoda zectak marnieją a 10lat temu jeszcze działały. To szok że w tak krótkim okręcie one tak mocno to odczuły

Restaurace a Pension Pod Čerťákem is an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal after a tiring day of skiing. The ambiance is fantastic, with a cozy home room featuring a wood furnace. Live music adds to the pleasant atmosphere, while the friendly waitstaff, particularly one who spoke English fluently, deserve commendation. The diverse menu in English, German, and Polish caters to various preferences.
Amazing. What a place to take your kids and let them explore the magical outdoor wonderland. It gives you a break as a parent too. The sound of the trickling water through the forest is very relaxing!!

The restaurant is great and has a variety of delicious meals. There is a respectable man named Lada who tried to help us choose the meals. Thank you to him. The prices are reasonable and the cooking is great. I hope to increase the meals.

Opinion for restautant only. Fast service. Meals were already prepared, taste fine.

In summer they offer great entertainment for children. They would not be bored for a couple of hours while you can enjoy their delicious desserts in shade. I definitely must come back there.

Friendly personell, wonderful outdoor seating and good beer. Unfortunately the food is quite subpar. Meals are imbalanced with too much carbs compared to meat (I got four small cubes of meat with six rather dry dumplings). Somewhat tasteless with a tough texture. Prices are average but unless you really want to catch your own trout, I'd go elsewhere.

Vietnamese restaurant
Viet Thai is a bustling restaurant that has garnered attention for its delicious Asian cuisine, including favorites like Pad Thai and Pho. While the establishment operates on a reservation system, which can lead to some confusion with empty tables and waiting patrons, the food quality makes it worth the wait. Diners rave about generous portion sizes at reasonable prices, making it an excellent value for those craving flavorful dishes from woks, bowls, and sushi.
All 4 meals were very delicious, service was good and friendly. I can only recommend trying the food. Not that expensive either:)

They had only 2 waiters in a fully occupied restaurant which means we had to wait a very long time for waiter to come. Food is ok.

lovely service and large portions. but i ordered a vegetarian dish with tofu and still found a lot of chicken in the food. this might not be the place to eat if you are vegetarian.
Robin W — Google review
Highly recommend this place. Have quality asian food from wok, bowls and sushi. Portions is big, price is adequate. Friendly staff, though they don't have english menu option. They also accept dogs.
Viktorija R — Google review
Empty Tables, Many patrons waiting for a table, what a mess! The restaurant is on a reservation system, meaning, there are hungry patrons staring at empty tables hoping that someone shows up. The restaurant turned away many patrons on a whim that someone would show up. I enjoyed the Pad Tai dinner 👍🏻; the portions were plentiful and tasty. 👌🏻 value 💶!
