Outdoor Activities
Filey Beach is a picturesque stretch of sand with a promenade adorned with sculptures and beachside chalets. The nearby town of Filey offers an award-winning beach, local shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafes. A walk along the famous Filey Brigg provides stunning views of the North Yorkshire coastline. Additionally, visitors can explore vintage cars, steam engines, fairground rides, and mechanical organs at the Scarborough Fair Collection. The beach also features dog-friendly areas where pets can roam freely.
Beautiful sandy beach. Near children's play park also a outside swimming pool area nearby for children to swim safely cafe and chips etc available near beach, as well as public toilets. Dog restrictions from 1st May on beach.

Nice Little area to visit. Busy in the summer months due to the large beach area when the tides are out and the rock pools. Worth a visit. I would recommend the Country Park car park as a place to park the car as there is more spaces and more chance to find an empty one in the summer. Great place to brings the kids especially for the Rock pools.
Andrew B — Google review
When the tide goes out, what a fantastic beach. It's miles long and easy to walk on. Never crowded. A couple of old WW2 Pill Boxes can be found on the beach that once stood at the top of the cliff. Paragliding can often be seen over the beach
Steve G — Google review
Nice beach. Busy but not too busy. I think dogs not allowed on beach during peak season. Fish, chips and Ice Cream, and toilets available on promenade.
Chris E — Google review
A wonderful sandy beach, partly dog-free, with great views of cliffs and headlands. There are several fast food sellers at the Northern end of the beach, near the lifeboat station. We bought fresh seafood and a waffle.

It's a beautiful beach clean very big, soft sand the water is quite clean we walked from filey primrose as staying there into filey didn't take long at all along the beach dog friendly on this part but when you get into actually filey does have signs up to say no dogs but we had plenty of the other bit for our dog large amount infact

Great choice of beer and cider. Great pub for cask beers.
Alf B — Google review
A fantastic selection of real ale, all in too condition. Their prices are very keen and the barperson, very friendly. They do also have a good selection of ciders. Probably the best pub in Filey in my opinion.

Really pleased we found this micro pub, but not so micro. A roomy font bar with a good selection of beers, a comfortable back room and a well laid out garden area.

Nestled in the charming coastal town of Filey, The Belle Vue is a delightful pub that truly lives up to its name with breathtaking views over Filey Bay. This family-friendly and dog-welcoming establishment offers a vibrant atmosphere filled with laughter and entertainment. Guests can enjoy an array of events, from comedy nights and karaoke sessions—where everyone is encouraged to join in regardless of singing ability—to engaging quiz nights and live sports broadcasts.
Friendliest pub in Filey. Dog friendly too but unfortunately no food. Fair prices. Love sitting in the mezzanine floor bay window people watching.

Best pub in Filey. We look forward to our Wednesday night quiz nights here now, after recently moving to Filey. Tina and Tara are so lovely and welcoming to everyone. I have severe anxiety but I feel like that vanishes at the door here :)

Wins points for selection of booze, but loses some for completing ignoring me at the bar, serving two customers right in front of me before barely acknowledging me and then saying they thought I was just stood there, no excuse. Delicious Gin and pub itself is lovely, nice atmosphere and decent music.

On holiday and decided to call in for a drink at lunch time. Heard about the quiz later that night and they said they would save us a table. We turned up and had a brilliant night, all the staff we lovley and welcoming, as were the locals. Got a really good sense of community spirit from everyone. Would definitely call in again anytime.

Nature & Parks
Glen Gardens, located in the south of Crescent Hill, was established in the 1830s as part of the Ravine Hall Estate. The mansion that once stood there has been replaced by a cafe at the heart of the park. This spacious garden offers various attractions such as a boating lake, wildlife areas, crazy golf, and a playground for children. Visitors can also enjoy scenic coastal views while relaxing in designated spots throughout the park.
Beautiful place to take a stroll in the sun. The kids had a great time looking at all the flowers. Bee hive, frogs, statues. Nice walk down to the beach. We parked up and walked through a park where the kids had a place. We got a coffee. Mini golf, ride on cars and a trampoline. Worth a visit
Gemma S — Google review
Well Glen Gardens is usually busy, busy but it was incredibly quiet when I visited on Monday. It’s at the opposite end of the resort to the Brigg but just a short walk from the railway station, carpark etc It can be reached from the station side but also by walking along the wonderful gardens which overlook the sea and beach. There’s a playground, plenty of benches, mini golf, a cafe and toilet block, together with a small pond/lake for boating.

Brilliant place for the whole family, lots to do and stunning scenery, lovely cafe with outdoor and indoor seating, short walk on to the beach.

Golf course
Golf shop
Filey Golf Club offers a great golfing experience with stunning scenery and a friendly atmosphere. The course provides a challenging yet not daunting 9-hole academy course, as well as an 18-hole main course in fantastic condition. The clubhouse and pro shop are welcoming, and the staff is accommodating and friendly. Additionally, hikers can enjoy peaceful walks with breathtaking views along the nearby Cleveland Way National Trail.
Had an awesome morning playing 18 holes golf for the first time with my son Joe. He’s really improving and we had a perfect day. Thanks to all the staff at Filey Bay for making the course so enjoyable. We will definitely be back again one day soon.
Kevin L — Google review
A truly amazing golf course! It combines the best of parklands golf with links golf. Designed by Dr Alistair McKenzie it lets you think you are playing well before teaching you lessons! You will lose golf balls no matter how good you think you are! Nothing is what you think! 190 yds is actually 220! Even downhill! It's a masterpiece in golf course design! Every day has different conditions so you have to play accordingly. Put the ball above the trees and it will move two fairways across if there's a sea fret! Club up and punch them low! Best of luck! Enjoy the combination of park and links! Great course!
Tim T — Google review
Good golf course with some lively views when playing the clifftop holes. Was a testing round with a strong breeze. Nice mixture of long and shorter holes, 1 or 2 quirky and a few blind shots so something for everyone, even if I didn't play my best. Greens were good and a decent pace - some had interesting breaks and slopes on. Good service in the pro shop and bar. There was a decent practice area and deicing range too at good value for the balls. Filey is a nice town too so would definitely head back there!
Johnny C — Google review
Superb place to play golf, we did the 9 hole course, twice it was that good. 9 hole's, a pint and another 9 hole's 🤷 what's not to love about that? We will definitely be back but, we'll be playing the big boys course 😉
Stephen D — Google review
Lovely course in a very nice overall setting of Filey. Course has a mix of challenges from short holes to long testing Par 4 and 5s. Especially like the short downhill 10th, a, Par 4 of about 320 yards with a lovely large green well protected with surrounding trees and a water feature in front. The greens are very good with a few hilly areas, and exposed areas adjacent to the coast. Decent Bar and catering. We very much enjoyed ourselves (even though weather was poor). Will certainly play again.
Martin S — Google review
Tuesday 2nd September 2025. Played as part of Scarborough Golf Festival. In the hottest year, when most courses have "burnt off" Filey was lush green grass throughout the course. Tees & fairways excellent. Green amazing, not a blemish on any green, fast even pace, putts ran true, very fast downhill. Tough to score. Clubhouse & pro shop staff excellent. Superbly well organised competition.
Ray H — Google review
A great course! Very friendly members and staff. The Ultimate Golf Experience is great value. Bacon roll and coffee on arrival, basket of range balls, 9 hole short course - which was a challenge, sandwiches and chips for lunch, then 18 holes on the main course - which was in fantastic condition, then a great steak pie, chips n peas to finish! All for £60!! A round on the main course is £44 so for a full day out it's a bargain!
David S — Google review
Best course I've played by far, I actually thought the practice green was fake it's that flawless, every hole has something about it, made all the better by the warm welcome from the pro in the shop, Malcolm I believe his name is and the members that all took time to talk to our group, brilliant experience all round, thank you Filey golf club we'll definitely be back

Fish and chips takeaway
Nestled just a short stroll from the seafront, The Brown Room is a charming spot that serves up quintessential British fish and chips. Renowned for its outstanding cod, this eatery has garnered enthusiastic praise from patrons who rave about both the delectable food and the warm service provided by the friendly staff. Visitors have likened it to iconic establishments in major cities, highlighting its inviting atmosphere without exorbitant prices.
Literally the best fish and chips I've had in a long time!!! Fish was thick and delicious. The batter was amazing and crunchy. Mushy peas were good. Service was fast and very friendly. Shame we're on holiday!!! If you're in Filey ...go!!!! 2nd visit. Still bloody amazing again!!!!!!!
Ben J — Google review
Called in here today for dinner. We had fish and chips expecting it to be excellent as we had been before. Oh dear. No longer appears to be cooked in beef dripping. The fish was nice inside unfortunately the batter was a bit greasy as were the chips. We left feeling disappointed as it was so nice last time.
Thomas — Google review
We had the small haddock & chips with mushy peas. All piping hot and nicely cooked. Arrived quickly via the polite and attentive server. £11.30 per head was good value for the quality of food.
David B — Google review
Really sad to be editing my review to a one star.. My dad is a born and bred Yorkshire man so we have been coming up to Filey and Scarborough since I was a young kid. A few months ago we tried the Brown Room as a family and had a wonderful experience when my Dad was there with us to order the food - not sure if this was a coincidence now? I’ve brought my partner up with me on holiday and was excited to show him this wonderful food place that I’d raved about. Unfortunately, we had a starkly different experience when we went last night for a takeaway. Due to the number of other people in there at the time, I can only think our accents or another seemingly personal reason was why we were treated so poorly. We’re both sticklers for manners and to say we felt spoken down to is an understatement. There was a very clear difference to how we were treated compared to the other people in there, how we were spoken to, time for our order to be taken, response to us speaking to her… Truly, it was odd. Neither me or my partner are the type of people to make a scene over that however we both immediately turned to each other upon leaving and said the same. Filthy looks, snide comments and a poor attitude don’t exactly leave a pleasant taste in our mouths… My advice, approach the lady with blonde and brown hair with caution 👍 Food was nice as I had said in my now-deleted review… however a poor attitude soured the entire experience for us. I felt embarrassed having hyped it up immensely to my partner. No other member of staff was rude to us, only her, but it’s surprising how much one person can ruin for you.
Alicia — Google review
Been coming here for many years always enjoyed the fish and chips, but the last twice have been very disappointing the fish was over cooked and very dry. Not the same man frying anymore. Won't go again.
Carol C — Google review
Came here last year so was really looking forward to lunch. I left feeling quite disappointed, the staff were nice but that's where it kind of ended for me. I don't think that beef dripping is used anymore and the price was high for 3 people which came to £44, yes i get that prices have risen but oof!!
Kiggy — Google review
We have dined in here and had takeout when we have stayed in Filey. Unfortunately, the service received today was non existent from the member of staff who took the order in fact downright rude! Filey is a very quiet place when the tourists don’t come. Would be even quieter for some businesses if the staff don’t remember customer service!
Amanda M — Google review
We always come here whenever we visit Filey which is pretty regularly. The food and the service is always excellent. We can particularly recommend the curry sauce. Thanks

We had a delicious lunch here - cafe was full when we arrived but the lady in charge took our number and within 15 minutes called us to let us know there was a free table. We really enjoyed our lunch and the staff were so friendly that we returned the next morning for breakfast and really enjoyed that too. Would have liked more of the homemade coleslaw though, it's delicious!
Abi R — Google review
Endearing, cosy cafe that's not to be overlooked. The staff are warm, welcoming and helpful but still very efficient. The menu choices are exceptional for such a small cafe, we had the chilli and lighthouse keepers lunch which were both excellent and generously portioned. The cake and dessert selection were also exceptional, and all this at reasonable prices. There was also a nice selection of themed gifts and produce to take away.

Pre booked for a family of 12. The young children were served first which kept them happy. Our food all came within minutes and was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend

Found this little treasure today. We had been looking for gluten free and the menu was quite substantial. Home made cakes, choice of brown or white bread and no extra fees for gf. Lovely food and plenty of it, staff were so friendly and helpful. When we come back to Filey, this will be our go-to cafe now.

We have visited here many times when visiting Filey and always been great. To be fair on our last visit everything was good as usual with regards to food, service etc. Unfortunately we were over charged by approximately £10 which regrettably we didn't realise until much later. £36+ for two sandwiches and a scone plus three drinks was excessive to say the least and I would have thought that they would have realised the error. I'm not suggesting it was done intentionally and I rather suspect that the waitress mixed our bill up with the one for the two ladies sat at the other window table who were dining lavishly.

Such a lovely stay! Me and my boyfriend were in Filey and only wanted somewhere to eat. We were so well looked after at dinner we ended up staying the night. The food was lovely, service was excellent and the room was very modern and clean. Will definitely be returning. Huge thanks to Bill for being so accommodating.

We booked into the restaurant for sunday dinner, the waiter was very polite and the restaurant was clean and tidy, but the food was well below what was expected, the starters were luke warm at best, the main course had to be sent back as we'd requested well done beef, and the veg on the plate was cold on service. Granted it was swapped after a chat with the manager. On service of the meal when asked do you want anything else, we requested a second round of drinks, which never arrived. We'd got to a point where we just ate up and left feeling very disappointed with the Website images and reviews we were expecting better.
Shane G — Google review
Lovely hotel and location. Room very clean and staff lovely. We like to sleep with the window open, but the room had a large vent outside our room which was very noisy, had to shut them, so very hot, and staff talking loudly under the window. Would expect better for the price paid for bed and breakfast £186. Wouldn’t have stayed in that room if we had known beforehand.

We had a lovely stay at The White Lodge Hotel! The room was spotless, comfortable, and had beautiful views of the bay. Staff were warm and welcoming from start to finish. The food was excellent we had dinner & breakfast in the hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the beach and town. 100% will be returning.
George S — Google review
Please can the management spend a full day & night in room 4 to experience just how noisy this room is, due to being located above the kitchen. Our 3 nights away to ‘relax & recuperate’ did not go to plan. We struggled to sleep. There seems to be no regard from the kitchen staff with the noise they continually made up to 11pm & then again from 7am. Extremely loud slamming of doors & what can only be described as someone continually banging metal drums? Room 4 also has two staff cupboards nearby which were also very noisy with staff using them & doors slamming. Room 4 is a thoroughfare for all other bedrooms going past to access the stairs.? While this would be bad enough in a cheap hotel, we had paid £600 for 3 nights! The staff on reception & breakfast on weekdays were lovely. The younger ‘weekend’ staff did not appear well trained. We received the wrong drinks, left waiting for brown sauce on 2 x days (it never appeared along with another table having the same issue). We noticed at breakfast that the door into the kitchen slams shut continually, we were tempted to visit the local diy shop to buy some foam to attach to the doors, this is such a quick easy fix that would really help. The prices of this hotel do not reflect the quality expected. We have stayed in 4 star London hotels for cheaper. The best thing about this hotel is the location but we will not be coming back.

Went for Sunday lunch and just loved it. Quality champagne by the glass very reasonably priced. Fabulous, delicious food in large portions. We took our spare veggies home for supper. Great views and attentive, discrete service. Can't wait to go back for dinner menu.

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Filey Brigg Country Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Park
Filey Brigg Country Park is a unique and rugged coastal park in Filey, North Yorkshire. It offers breathtaking views, making it an ideal spot for picnics, kite flying on windy days, and dog walking. The park is home to diverse wildlife such as seabirds, seals, and dolphins. Visitors can enjoy activities like walking, fishing, and birdwatching while admiring the park's geological features.
We parked up on the headland and walked to the cliff tops, thousands of birds around including puffins. Toilets clean and cost 40p with a card payment. We then walked into Filey, took about 20 mins, the tide was just going out so the dog had a good run. Plenty of places for food and ice cream on the promenade, we walked up to the town and had fish and chips but sat on picnic benches with a sea view.

Very nice place to visit. Usually lots of parking on the grass or hard standing. There is a play area and a cafe at the caravan park. There are also toilets. This is a great place for a picnic taking in superb views of Filey Bay. There are some well maintained walks either along the cliffs or down a steep hill to the beach.

The park offers stunning vistas, making it an ideal location for dog walking and serves as a starting point for the Cleveland path. However, the parking fees are quite high, with a charge of £4.40 for a two-hour stay, and blue badge holders are also required to pay. A cafe and restroom facilities are conveniently located near the entrance.

Nice clifftop or beach walk, went out to end of brigg via beach and very enjoyable and dog friendly. Be aware of how fast tide comes in, there is a tide table but very hard to read as text too small.

Visited on a sunny Spring day, with the lightest of breezes. The sky was blue. The sea breaking gently against the rocks below was green. It felt good to be alive!

The best place for pizza in Filey in my opinion. You can book for the inside tables but you can just turn up for outside tables. Absolutely delicious. Thin and crispy yet soft and cheesy as with a great variety of choices. Lots of great alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, cocktails and mocktails. Staff are very friendly and obliging. Child friendly. Clean toilets with baby changing facilities. I would recommend. We will definitely be back. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Husband and I were meant to come last year but due to circumstances couldn't manage,we did arrange a date night this year and boy oh boy are we glad we did!! Arrived before our 5pm table and the lovely lady sat us early. Having scoured the menu beforehand we knew what pizza,we were after. We had a pepperoni and prosciutto and a tandoori chicken....can honestly say it was the best pizza we've ever had!!! Super thin crust and the tastiest toppings...we also had 2 cocktails each and they were delicious too...staff are also attentive without being overbearing and very friendly. Price was incredible for what we had and we will definitely eat here again when we come next year. Thanks ladies it was our pleasure to visit.

We ate at The Boat Shed on NYE as a family of 3. There was a great atmosphere, the pizzas, garlic bread & cocktails were delicious and the staff lovely. It's quickly becoming one of our favourite places to eat when visiting Filey.

Great starters i think the meat pizzas would benefit by not having the chicken pieces cubed ( frozen )other than that it was delicious. The staff are very welcoming and friendly my wife and i enjoyed it the beer was cold and any gin you like was available

If I can give 6 stars I would. Possibly the best selection of pizza I ever get across and definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve tried in my life. Very friendly, attentive and prompt staff. Small and well organised place and two dog friendly tables outside (heaters and blankets available). Huge bonus for being DOG FRIENDLY. Definitely want to go back and try more pizzas. Highly recommend if you are visiting this area.

We stopped here for some lunch while on holiday in Yorkshire and we are so glad we did. I had the steak pie and my wife had a giant Yorkshire pudding with sausages. Both were delicious and we left very satisfied! Malcolm (front of house) was very welcoming and had a good sense of humour. We really enjoyed our lunch and would definitely return when visiting the area again!

This is an absolute gem of a venue, really accommodating and the food was delicious. Genuine home food feel, they couldn’t do enough for us. Knowledgable about all aspects of the menu and willing to suggest adjustments they could make to accommodate. Really friendly, personable and very kind. Can’t recommend enough.

Like stepping back in time in the nicest possible way. Malcolm made us feel extremely welcome and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. Beautifully clean everywhere and the food was delicious and all at a reasonable cost. I was visiting the area from West Sussex and Malcolm gave us such a cheery authentic Yorkshire service. Thank you so much.

Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery is a must-visit destination in the county, offering a delightful experience. The distillery is a small family business partnered with Wold Top Brewery, sourcing everything locally, including water from an aquifer below their farm. The whisky produced here is described as light, fruity, and very drinkable. Visitors can also enjoy the great cafe with home-cooked food and quality coffee.
Went on the distillery tour with my parents and girlfriend at the weekend. It was a great experience. Justyna was an amazing guide - fun, knowledgeable and taught me how to drink whiskey properly! I really enjoyed the ethos of the company. Sustainable approach to farming and the whole process, from the field to the still to the cask to the bottle. Community seems very important to the distillery as the food in the cafe was locally sourced. Cafe staff were great - really friendly and the cakes were amazing. The whole place had a very welcoming feel to it and I will definitely recommend the tour to friends.

Filey Bay Flagship has evolved into a great tasting whisky, perfect as an every day drinking dram. This is very different from the early releases of Flagship, i came back to it after a recent tasting & was surprised how good it is now. Rich creamy texture, subtle vanilla & fruity taste, perfectly balanced.
PaulOverland — Google review
I ordered some Filey Bay whisky as a birthday gift for my son in law. I was impressed with the great service from the start. The whisky was dispatched immediately with excellent communication from the company regarding delivery. When there was an problem gaining access to our property, someone from Spirit Of Yorkshire immediately phoned me and resolved the issue, liaising with the delivery company to give further instructions. Not only is the whisky excellent, but also the best customer service I have experienced for a while. I will definitely be ordering from this company again.

This Spirit of Yorkshire whisky was included in my whiskyme pouches subscription. I was impressed and bought a bottle for myself plus one for my son. An excellent single malt, very smooth with great sweet flavours and fruity nose.
David B — Google review
Filey Bay Flagship is a bright, confident expression of English single malt — fresh, fruit-forward, and full of promise. On the nose, it opens with soft vanilla, honeyed cereal, and a touch of orchard fruit. The palate is smooth and well-balanced, offering notes of citrus, light oak, and a creamy malt character that belies its youth. There’s a coastal freshness throughout, but it never overwhelms the warmth and subtle sweetness at its core. A gentle, lingering finish seals it as a standout introduction to the Filey Bay range — and a compelling case for the future of English whisky

Excellent place, so warm and welcoming with the friendliest of staff. Very busy and I can see why. Lovely atmosphere that made you feel like you were amongst family and friends. Really good coffee in a good chunky-sized mug. Dog friendly. I had a delicious, tasty flapjack. Homemade cakes, breakfasts and additional outdoor seating to the front on the pavement, but under arches so is sheltered. I am definitely visiting here again, because of the lovely staff! Nestled within the scenic Country Park, the Country Park Cafe is a delightful spot that caters to both locals and visitors alike. With convenient access to parking, camping sites, and a children's playground, it’s an ideal pit stop for families and dog owners. The cafe serves up a comforting selection of coffee, tea, cakes, and sandwiches. Breakfast enthusiasts will be thrilled by their hearty fry-ups featuring top-notch bacon and sausage alongside exceptional black pudding—definitely worth every penny!
Bit if a contradictory review here. Initially I thought the breakfast was slightly over priced however, it came and it was the best fry up I've had in a very long time. Quality bacon and sausage and the best black pudding I've ever eaten so I suppose you get what you pay for folks. And I don't mind paying for decent snap! Don't miss out on a cracking breakfast!! I only marked the atmosphere at 4 because seating area is a bit like a conservatory so it's rather warm even at 10am.

We visit the cafe regularly, it has a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere and is a great place to meet up with friends or for a rest along your hike . Its close to the nearby cliff walks, Brigg and town, public toilets and parking. The current owners present a very pleasant and clean establishment, offering fairly priced good food and exceptional cakes and pastries. Rachel, Michael and team provide an excellent service and they all work so hard, the place is a credit to them and they deserve the best feedback for their very hard work 5🌟 every time.

Upon arrival we were tired and my wife was told she would not be allowed to use the toilet. You must use the public toilet next door 40p per person per time. The whole family then turned around and left. The moral of the story is you don't have to let CUSTOMERS use your toilet and the CUSTOMER doesn't have to spend money there. We went elsewhere

Ideal for exploring local attractions, the inn is easy to locate and provides ample parking space. The bar, restaurant, and beer gardens are charmingly designed and include areas where dogs are welcome. The menu features an extensive selection of pies, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences such as fish pies and vegetarian options.
I came here today with family as we had heard about it being quite popular here with lots of good reviews. We all tried a pie each and we all really enjoyed it. The portion sizes are decent and you have a good few pie options too. I had the Christmas dinner pie, luckily being the last pie left and finished most of it. Unfortunately we felt the staff didn’t give off the happiest of vibes but they were still good in telling us how the menu worked and how many pie flavours were left for each one. I’d recommend any pie lovers to go and try it there.

My friends and I visited here for a meal recently. The food is absolutely superb. We all had a different pie and everyone said how delicious theirs was. Each pie was generously filled and the pastry was light and tasty. I noticed that you can order pie to collect, too. The staff were lovely; very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was relaxing and calm. I will definitely visit here again.
Tilly T — Google review
Very friendly staff made us and our 4 doggies feel very welcome The menu was extensive and all pies served with mushy peas, garden peas or seasonal veg, then a choice of chips or mash. The portion sizes were just right but make sure you’re hungry as they are very filling. The pies came with chunks of meat, so plenty of filling, not just a mush with gravy. Prices were just over £20 per meal which looking at what you got for the money I felt was good value. Would we go again? Yes, definitely, just a shame it’s so far from where we live. It is also worth a mention that there seemed to be hook up for camper vans. I can’t comment on the rooms as we only popped in for a meal

We were recommended this place, and told the pies were epic - all FIFTY TWO of them. A wet wednesday night, and we struggled to get a table!! From the minute we arrived, everyone was so friendly, accommodating and pleasant. We were seated in the restaurant, as the main pub area was packed. We're were served quickly, and WOW! Was it worth waiting for! These were one of, if not THE, best pies we've ever had. PROPER pies, with PROPER pastry and lashings of good gravy. We can't fault anything about this place, well worth travelling to. ★★★★★

Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park is a delightful destination featuring a variety of animals from around the world, including meerkats, alpacas, reptiles, and exotic birds. The park's five-acre landscaped grounds offer 24 distinct areas dedicated to different creatures. Visitors can explore formal gardens, a sensory garden designed for visually impaired guests, and a woodland trail. Children have the opportunity to participate in feeding sessions with the meerkats and enjoy the on-site play park.
What a great place! My first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I walked up from the train station as it’s less than a mile but if you drive there’s a good sized carpark and it’s also on a bus route. I’ve seen some comments saying that it’s more suited for younger children, but when I visited there were people from across the age ranges. This place has lots of plus points: Well laid out with plenty of space so suitable for wheelchair users, pushchairs etc; I was particularly impressed by the great amount of picnic areas and the cafe was reasonably priced too. There are talks throughout the day linked to the feeding schedules which was really interesting. Beautifully landscaped throughout and the cherry on the cake is the secret garden which is quite spectacular! Recommended!

A wonderful small zoo with a wide variety of animals! The animals are clearly well cared for and appear lively and curious about their surroundings. Their enclosures are spacious. We had a lovely afternoon exploring the zoo! A big bonus, it’s extremely dog-friendly! Dogs are welcome in most areas, and the viewing windows are low enough for them to get a close look at the animals. If you want to see the animals active and walking around, the best time to visit is around 4 PM during feeding time, it’s adorable to watch them come out and interact!

St Oswald's Church in Filey is a significant historical site, with parts of the building dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries. The church underwent restoration in the early 20th century by architect William Swinden Barber, known for his Arts and Crafts style. Visitors can admire the stained glass, medieval stonework, and explore the extensive graveyard.
One of nicest churches I've been in. Beautifully kept with stunning coloured glass windows, stonework and more. I visited it in part because of its Bronte connection, as Charlotte is thought to have visited it during one of her stays on the Yorkshire Coast. However, it's a peaceful, serene church in its own right and if like visiting places of worship, this is for you.
Faith Y — Google review
I saw a few pictures online and thought it looked like a beautiful church to visit. I read that this church, placed at the top of a cliff was like a beacon to homecoming fishermen. A beautiful church about 800 years old. Not a lot of car parking but turns out the bells ringers had arrived to practice, so we had the joy of the bells (apparently there are 6) as we walked around the graveyard. A very well kept graveyard. I had seen the monument in pictures but no mention of whos it was. It turns out it was built by a loving son for his parents, unfortunately a lot of the names were unrecognisable. And its now falling into disrepair, such a shame for a beautiful monument.

Disappointed that the church was locked when we visited although when we checked it should have been open, possibly. A packed graveyard with some very old headstones and a 'tomb'??( I'm afraid that I don't know it's correct name) going to wrack and ruin. What a shame, it's beautiful.

Specialty Museums
Located in the oldest domestic building in Filey, dating back to 1696, Filey Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the town's history and development. Run by volunteers, this museum features a diverse range of exhibits including archaeological finds, maritime history artifacts, a recreated Victorian parlour, regional crafts displays, geological showcases of the shoreline, newspaper archives, photography collections and even a Victorian fire engine.
What a wonderful hidden gem on Queen Street Filey. £2.50 to get in, inside two old fishing cottages have been converted into a very interesting insight, into the past and present culture of Filey. From fishing to holidays and everything in between, great exhibits and interactive areas. A must see place, you will learn so much.

Lovely little museum. Lots to see spread over two floors and a rear garden. Well worth a visit and goid value for money at a fiver each.
Mark G — Google review
Both my Nana and Grampy were custodians of the museum here for a fair time while they were alive. I didn't visit recently but passed by as we walked through the town... But Google suggested a review and I know they cared for it a lot and that the museum itself is very interesting, picking up history from both the distant and recent past. Well worth a visit as I'm sure today's custodians are doing a stellar job.
Charlotte E — Google review
Hidden away in a quiet back street but well worth seeking out. What a gem of a museum, with an amazing variety of artefacts relating to local history and in a traditional old building. Well presented displays with very friendly and informative staff - with the enthusiasm you get from volunteers. For me this was the highlight of a visit to Filey. I especially liked the cabinet full of "things that don't fit in to any of the other subjects". At £2.50 entry it's a steal.
Christine A — Google review
Amazing museum. Whilst limited in space, this museum was not short on entertainment. The staff were very enthusiastic, very welcoming and available at all times. Activities for kids in every section and the kids are actually allowed to touch most of the display. Kids are free and adults £2.50. Great place to lose a couple hours.

Great little area with a selection of birds. Slightly difficult to find the entrance but worth it. Three good hides with various views across the lake. It is a shame I did not find this place until the last few days of our holiday

The entrance to Fileys war memorial gardens showcases a neo-Classical archway made of Portland stone, serving as a unique design for the memorial. Dedicated on 21 May 1921, the land for the garden was donated by businessman George Nesfield Barnett in 1916. The memorial commemorates not only both World Wars but also conflicts in Korea (1950-53) and Aden (1964).
A fabulous installation of poppies around the garden! They were beautifully made and it made the gardens absolutely stunning!! It’s a nice place to have a sit and appreciate the past.

At the archway entrance to the gardens is Filey’s war memorial. It was unveiled on 21 May 1921 on land that been given to the town for the garden in 1916 by George Nesfield Barnett a businessman. The memorial is in the form of a neo-Classical archway in Portland stone with memorials to both World Wars as well as conflicts in Korea (1950-53) and Aden (1964). As a memorial it is of unusual design, different to the more usual cenotaph, cross or statue. It is protected with listing grade II.

Popped in last week when in Filey for a flat white and bacon roll. £5.50 for both. An absolute bargain and got to sit outside at a pavement table to enjoy some autumnal morning sun Coffee was delicious and bacon roll was very good. Buttrred both sides too. Staff very friendly. We're thinking of moving to Filey so I'll be back, and Frothies will definitely see me again. Thank you.

We were 2 couples on a bank holiday break . Stumbled across this bar and so glad we did. We were made to feel so welcome and to be honest spent our 2 days visiting this bar. So a fun atmosphere with the DJ and his wigs. Hence we got involved on both nights. Karen and Neil are wonderful hosts . Great customer service. Felt this bar was more up class than most around the area. Keep up the good work 👏

Nestled in the heart of Filey, Dicky Bees Fish & Chips is a must-visit for anyone craving traditional British fare. This charming eatery serves up freshly cooked fish and chips to order, ensuring every bite is bursting with flavor. With a cozy café at the back and convenient takeaway options, you can enjoy your meal while exploring the scenic surroundings.
A friend recommended we gave Dicky Bees a try. She lives in Filey. In the past we’ve been to the Brown room which is great also. The delicate crispy batter encasing the delicious cod, was beautiful and the chips were also great. Very good curry sauce and peas. Served by friendly people. Best take out fish and chip’s we’ve had for a long time. Can’t wait till next time!
Patrick D — Google review
I got takeout fish and chips and mushy peas. The quality of the food needs some work. The batter was fine, but the fish instead of being tender and flaky, was dense and tough. The mushy peas were quite disappointing—they lacked flavor and were far too watery. That was my first and last visit in this place.
Kr9 K — Google review
So as per my last review stating that this is the best chip shop on yorkshire coast, 11 months later i fully retract this claim. The shop changed hands in july last year, i was unaware. The chip shop curry sauce is now not that nice. Not original chip shop curry sauce anymore. Its now chinese curry sauce. What a let down. The fish is nice but the batter is not! its not cooked for long enough (undercooked). After speaking to the lovely lady behind the counter she stated that the food “is now 10x better than it was before”. She couldnt have told me a bigger lie! In conclusion to my visit today, i am very disappointed with what i have come across. I now have to find the new best chip shop on the yorkshire coast. Perhaps one that does proper original curry sauce with raisins in and properly cooked batter. FUMING!!!

If you're ever in the Reighton Sands area, Alabama Fast Food is a must-try for anyone craving delicious takeout. Open early from 4:30 AM to 10:45 AM, this spot offers free delivery right to your caravan, making it super convenient for travelers. Guests rave about their chicken tikka pizza with its thick cheese base and flavorful toppings—it's been described as one of the best pizzas ever!
We were staying at Reighton Sands & ordered from here. Not sure why the negative comments. We ordered a chicken tikka pizza. The cheese base was nice & thick. Both me & the wife agreed it was the best pizza we've ever had. She said she's known nothing like it. She also had beef on pitta bread. (I think!). She enjoyed that too. I ordered a takeaway from somewhere else when we were here last...had to meet the driver at the main entrance! This was brought straight to our caravan. Top marks....just wish they were close to me. Pizza to die for! I actually felt bad about the distance I gave the driver a £5 tip!
Picdriver — Google review
Order a donner kebab which was how it should be, also ordered some chicken that was cooked fresh on the griddle, it was supposed to have some seasoning on but on getting home it was just plain cooked chicken stripe which was a real letdown especially has the chicken was very dry too. This was our first time so hopefully next time it will be better.
Piper T — Google review
Service and atmosphere of getting the food was great but when we ordered our food like the kebab, the pepperoni pizza, cheesy chips and fried chicken. The chips and chicken were good, really enjoyable but the kebab and pizza were really burnt and the kebab caused a family friend to badly throw up after an hour or so of having the food. I do not recommend if the food is going to be badly burned and causing food poisoning.
Matty H — Google review
We decided to go in to order tonight as the reviews for deliveries are so bad. We ordered at 19:20 and took 50 minutes to be given pizzas that had been stood on the back for 30 minutes. Food soggy and warm, its easily the worst pizza I've ever had. Staff do not communicate, only to stand and shout at one another. If I could give it zero stars I would.
Hayley R — Google review
We were staying at Primrose Valley, got a leaflet hand delivered, so thought we’d give it a try, I wish we hadn’t. We ordered 2 kebabs and a large portion of cheesy chips. Firstly, the chips were a really poor portion size, and barely had any cheese (the picture does them more justice than they deserve) The doner kebab tasted like cardboard, and the pitta was hard and tasteless. Really disappointed that we waisted £18 here. Wouldn’t recommend at all!! We have binned the takeaway flyer so the next holiday makers after us can avoid wasting their money.

We stayed at Havens Primrose Valley for the weekend. Used this the night before we left. 19/03/17- Oak Medows. So glad we did try this place over their expensive Papa Johns on site! More choice of food, hot, fresh and very tasty! Customer service was excellent 5*! We tried their kebab, pizza, chicken and chips... Just lovely! Everything was perfectly wrapped/bagged and delivered in 45 mins as promised. And their FREE garlic Pizza...yum yum! THANK YOU it was beautiful food! We will definitely use you when we come back!
Lis L — Google review
Absolute nightmare of a place. Rang up and placed order for collection. Turned up half hour later and they hadn't even started so had to give order again. Came back fifteen mins later they still hadn't started!!! Gave the order for the third time and they still got it wrong!! Pizza was 10 inch but paid for 12 inch and the pizza was wrong!! How hard can it be to write an order down and make it? Can't speak English either. Might aswel throw towel in lads.

Nestled just a stone's throw from one of Yorkshire's finest beaches, Bonhommes Bar is a hidden gem in Filey that promises an unforgettable experience. This charming pub has garnered accolades, including the prestigious Rural Pub of the Year Award. With its inviting atmosphere and excellent selection of beers, wines, and spirits, it’s perfect for those looking to unwind after a day at the beach. Every Saturday afternoon brings a fun quiz night for trivia enthusiasts eager to test their knowledge while enjoying delicious drinks.
Timeless kind of place. If you want shallow and glitzy, this is not the venue for you. Atmospheric without trying, superb well kept beers. You either get this place or you don't, and if you don't then you just don't get what makes the heart of a good pub, and you probably don't have a pulse. My wife and I called in one lunchtime, only three other people in, but that doesn't matter because it's a great pub and always will be.
Robert O — Google review
A bunch of locals were sat around the bar chewing the cud. A bit rough and ready but right enough. Dog friendly. A good selection of alcoholic beverages at reasonable prices. Toilets were clean.
Debbie J — Google review
Went with my lad for the first time to see what the hidden, almost secret pub is about. Not a tourist pub.. so you get great service, good prices and not overly busy. Perfect. A traditional pub.. a real pub interior. Not all that modern.. but that is what I like.. Real, traditional and honest. Seemed like new grey soft carpets throughout. Stairs inside up to the bar.. so if your in a wheelchair or mobility issues.. you'd need a drinking partner able to get to the bar! Or I'm sure the friendly staff would help. Clean toilets and plenty of handwash etc. A great place, worth a visit for a quiet pint.. supporting local business.

Beautifully well kept gardens. Gorgeous views of the sea. A perfect place to sit and just enjoy the peace and quiet, or like we did, play cards. There's an ice cream parlour and cafe, and gives easy access to the pier and sea front. The venue is a blank canvas, which is great for your own theming especially for something out of the ordinary. Seaview room is a great place to get married with a toast out on their patio. We ordered in a Hog Roast for our guests from Trotters of Potter Brompton and used all our own glassware and plates. Sound system is great inside the concert hall, so I hope to see more events happening here in the future. The Evron Centre is a venue with a lot of potential and deserves a lot more bigger ticket events than it currently gets.

Art gallery
Picture frame shop
Seagull Gallery is a superb establishment offering impeccable framing services and an exceptional selection of artwork. The gallery goes above and beyond one's expectations, even managing to meet tight deadlines when items are out of stock. Their prints and framing are of the highest quality, creating a perfect display in any space. Contrary to some reviews, Seagull Gallery has an extensive collection of Ian Mitchell's prints, and their helpfulness is unparalleled. Additionally, they showcase beautiful works by other artists at reasonable prices.
Excellent framing service from Seagull Gallery in Filey. I had two original art items I needed framed and I am delighted with the results. We were welcomed warmly, listened to carefully, guided through every stage in a clear and patient manner, had our questions answered and were never made to feel like we were taking up too much time or asking too much. Couldn't ask for better service. The high quality of the framing work is excellent and the prices were very reasonable. We now have two framed art pieces that we can proudly display. Thank you Seagull Gallery!

Seagull Gallery has done a number of jobs for me and I have to say all of the jobs have been EXCELLENTLY done. The team at the gallery are so helpful and knowledgeable. Below is some of the work that they have done for me

Bought two glass pieces from them during my week stay in Filey, I was originally hesitant however they are such a great find it is hard to pass up. The woman inside is lovely, and I only wish the shop was bigger to display more glass artworks. I bought a small piece for £40 and a further larger piece for £150

Excellent service! When I got my large framed print of Filey Breakwater home it was too big for the space. No problem for the gallery, they replaced it with a smaller one and refunded the difference.

Fantastic service and framed prints. I needed three framed prints, that were not in stock. After speaking to the Seagull Gallery, they went above and beyond what I expected and managed to meet a tight deadline. The prints and framing are first class and look perfect in our hallway. Contrary to two other reviews, I found their stock of Ian Mitchell's prints to be extensive and they were so helpful when I popped in to take a look earlier this year. Thank you Seagull Gallery

We bought our second Ian Mitchell print (of the Red Bridge at Whitby) from the Seagull Gallery and had our first Ian Mitchell print of the Yorkshire Wolds re-framed with a larger mount and non reflective glass. Such lovely people to deal with and the framing service was excellent. A delightful gallery and shop. If you're in Filey, do yourself a favour and have a look round - you will not be disappointed.

Great service , brilliant framing work has really made my daughter's artwork pop thank you for the advice given highly recommen anyone wanting any framing done and also some great work by other artists in the gallery so even if your not getting anything framed still working bobbing in for a look round and the art work is not over priced

Kayleigh's Café is a delightful spot that truly impresses with its breakfast offerings. Guests rave about the full English breakfast, highlighting perfectly crispy bacon and fried bread that make for an unforgettable start to the day. The café also welcomes families and pets, providing dog treats at the entrance, which adds a charming touch to your visit. For lunch, diners can enjoy generous portions of delicious meals like cheese sandwiches served with chips, salad, and coleslaw.
Amazing place to eat. We are as a family of 6 (2 adults & 4 young children) and the helpful staff made room for us. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was brilliant, good quality and big portions and lovely to see the prices weren’t extortionate. Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back!

Visited here for lunch with my family and dog. Dog treats by the door which she was very grateful for. Plenty of seats available and order at the bar. I had the cheese sandwich, was lovely and came with chips, salad and coleslaw. My husband had one of the specials that were displays by the till; gammon, egg and chips, he said the gammon was perfect. My children had cheese and tuna jacket potato and a chicken burger. Portions were huge and worth the money. We spent about £40 which included drinks for us all. Staff were friendly and service was speedy. We parked on the road which had an hour limit.

Visited whilst staying nearby, Sunday 9am and it was full! Food was quick despite that we were told there will be a wait. Portions are good and food was nice and warm. Prices are really good and place felt very welcoming. It’s dog friendly and our lab enjoyed begging for food ;)

Really good food!! Excellent service and dog Friendly. Really good value, lovely choice for lunch. We both had jacket potatoes with different fillings, lovely side salad. A great find! Thank you.

Wow such an amazing breakfast from perfectly crispy bacon as requested and prefect fried bread. Never have I ever had such a fantastic breakfast in such a long time. I am going to be calling in again for the exact same again before we go home and even dare to say another time after that. Would highly recommend them and even my daughter finished her jacket potato with cheese which in its self is a sign of how good the food was.

This review is based on a visit in August when the cafe WAS open. Spent a lot of money here over the whole Summer. Visited with friends & family. 2 staff members very friendly one never has been very hard faced and unfriendly. They even once spilt the food all over shorts & left new designer shorts with grease all over so ruined but accidents happen so we let it go. It’s after a further encounter with this staff member that we will sadly no longer be eating here. Felt very unwelcome and to be honest I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. We are residents (yes we live in the immediate vicinity & yes we do have the correct business) small businesses need trade from us not just holiday makers so surprised how we were treated. I also think as an owner you need to be out front with a presence to see what’s going on & how your staff are behaving, talking to & interacting with customers. There is an old saying ‘the customer is always right’ bend the rules to keep customers happy. Again this is the correct business so find it the response from the owner ridiculous snd trying to deflect rather than address the issues. Disappointing response as expected.

It is probably more 3 and a half stars than 3 but 1) it took an awfully long time to get served and whilst queuing to order the staff were constantly asking you to move so they could get to the back of the counter. It was very crowded and impossible to get to see what cakes were being offered. 2) Someone please tell me why some cafes feel the need to put chocolate on everything?!! Chocolate on a coffee cake? Or salted caramel??? Why??? I have an intolerance to chocolate which makes me very ill - there are actually quite a lot of us out there with this! Once again I was reduced to Victoria Sponge 🥱 3) outdoor seating needs painting/cleaning/replacing. It was all a little bit tatty 4) some of the staff really were not the friendliest. I'm sorry and I know you were all busy and it was a hot day, but really? 5) Food and hygiene score is only a 3. 6) cash only - stopped us from having anything more than coffee and cake. Most people these days put everything on card. We had a late lunch at a different place. Having said that, if you can eat chocolate, there is a good choice of cake; the outside area is quite large so, as dogs are not allowed indoors, it's a good choice for dog owners; my partner said that his cake was good and he enjoyed his coffee; the cakes we had were a good Yorkshire portion; reasonable prices.

Without doubt a little, hidden away gem in Filey I judge a place by how clean their toilets are and they were spotless. The staff were friendly, polite and couldn't do enough for us. We visited today with friends and all had afternoon tea. It was delicious! They also sell jars of pickles and preserves ** Please note it is cash only ** A big thank you to all the staff, I would highly recommend xx

Dropped in for a late Saturday lunch, we both had a sandwiches. One was egg mayonnaise which was almost golden with the quality of eggs used, the other was fresh local crab which was stuffed full of beautiful brown and white meat. Both were served with a salad garnish, homemade coleslaw and crinkle cut crisps. Cost was a very reasonable £21 including a pot of tea and a Diet Coke. The home baked cakes, scones and pastries looked amazing, but unfortunately we were too full to try them, so another visit will be needed to do just that.

Lovely traditional vales tea stop. Fair prices in a nice location. Good food made on site. Scones are lovely especially with the home jam.
Len R — Google review
Lots of outdoor seating, indoor seating but not a lot of space. Afternoon tea was lovely but unable to sit outside with food and so many wasps and seagulls taking food. Easily pram accessible and nice baby changing facilities. Not much selection left for the afternoon tea even though we arrived early and no body checked in on us or if we needed anything. Overall, nice simple afternoon tea at a good price.
Elise's A — Google review
Nice location, good coffee but hot food isn’t great. The kids didn’t like the cheese toasties, we tried them and they were pretty awful. We told staff but they weren’t interested in making it right. We asked if the kids could have some toast which they then tried to charge us for. A little bit of empathy for your paying customers can go along way. You are offering a service and you didn’t deliver but then all you could think about was money. Ultimately ruining the whole experience. Disappointing.
Kris — Google review
Called in today (Saturday) for a hot drink and something nice to eat. It's cash only, which was fine because I had some cash. How much is the flapjack? The lady behind the covid screens (still?) said what sounded like £3, but it was difficult for me to hear. Prices on the cakes would have been helpful. The drinks and cakes were nice. We sat outside with our four-legged friend. Sadly the pleasant atmosphere was spoilt by another customer complaining about people with dogs! Not Angela's fault, I know but it put a downer on the occasion. The lady clearing tables seemed keen for us to drink up, so we did. The whole place had a tired look about it. Better labelling, smiles from staff and a lick of paint would all have worked wonders.

My fiancé and I are regular visitors to Filey, but we have never eaten here, (we usually end up having waffles and ice cream) we decided today to get something a little more healthy. Well we weren’t disappointed with our meal, a lovely sirloin steak, cooked to perfection, with proper chunky chips and a crisp salad. It was all delivered to our table in a timely fashion by a very friendly waitress. We will definitely be eating here again if this is the offering.

Wanted somewhere to eat inside as we had two children and wanted to get out of the sun and breeze. When we sat down we expected the food to be just okay as it's quite modest and simple inside. Anyway pleasantly surprised. The food was good. I asked for all the food at the same time so starters and mains as we were in a rush. All good. Really helpful staff and manager that helped us down the stairs with the double buggy. Just wish it would have been more cloudy so we could have sat on the terrace as the views are great. Definitely going back next time we are in Filey.

We had wonderful lunches on two occasions at this beautifully positioned place. Fish and Chips for my wife and Scampi and Chips for me the first visit. Both cooked superbly. We returned later in the week. Clare had Pasta Alfredo and I had Pan-fried Chicken. Again both highly enjoyable. 4 given for atmosphere because we went early to get a balcony table.
Mark H — Google review
Been twice lately. Food delicious. Prices decent— despite a stunning view. Kind staff, who check on you without being “too much”. Staff seemed happy to check food ingredients for an allergy. Previously chef made a generous adjustment for a preference. Facility overshadowed by amazing views of the whole of Filey Bay from the Brigg down to Flamborough Head, especially from a balcony seat. Clean toilets! There is a large flight of stairs going to first floor restaurant level. There also seems to be a bar up half a flight of stairs but loud music so we did not linger there at all. (The loud music almost put me off, tbh, but glad I could manage the stairs.) Check closing time as varies with the season. I rang earlier in the day to verify; a staff member helpfully answered the phone call versus getting voicemail/answerphone! :)

During the summer, a couple explored Filey Brigg Country Park by parking easily on the cliffs and then walking along the cliff edge. They enjoyed breathtaking views as they made their way to the peninsula, where they descended to sea level via steps on the east side of the cliff. Walking along the peninsula during low tide provided them with a fantastic experience. Prior to their visit, they checked tide times to ensure a safe outing.
Fabulous on a sunny day. We went when the tide was out to walk to the end, but the path down needs care.

Always park here plenty of space whatever time of year. Walk down the steep lane with my dogs which leads straight onto the beach ( you do have to be fit to go up and down) and the dogs can go on all year round perfect
Neil J — Google review
So my wife and I visited earlier this year during the summer. We parked on top of the cliffs (Filey Brigg Country Park) very easily and made our way along the cliff edge to the peninsula. We took in some fabulous view along the way until eventually making our way down to sea level via some steps on the east side of the cliff. Walking along the peninsula with the tide out was a smashing experience. We'd checked the tide times before setting out so we knew how much time we had - you don't want to get caught out!! Smashing day out and we have returned a number of times since.

Super place to visit whilst in Filey. Only a short walk from town. The views are stunning
Tony J — Google review
Wilderness! Can spot some great seabirds here, but be very careful of the cliffs, and where you choose to walk. Cliff line is very unstable. We wouldn’t recommend walking far out on the end peak either. Very slippery and the wind can catch you and the tides are noted as being dangerous. Lovely new play park by the community cafe. Loads of parking available, huge sandy bay to explore. A beautiful environmental coastal location.
Carole P — Google review
We were staying at The Bay Holiday Village and got dropped off at Filey Beach and then walked out to Filey Brigg. What a glorious day and stunning views back to Filey and out to the sea. We walked down the east side steps and nearly walked out to the end of the Brigg but the tide hadn't gone completely out. We walked all the way back and in total it was 9km. It will be interesting to see how long before the narrow section is lost forever to erosion and the environment.

Had a problem with one of the kids vending machine taking money but doing nothing. Asked at the bar and was met with rude, unhelpful staff that would be quit happy letting kids spend money on a machine that was quite obviously broken. Friendly staff. But very low lit room for eating. Fish and chips meal (in fairness we had hoped to eat in a fish/chip restaurant, but the 3 we tried all cooked in beef fat !!). This pub doesn't- uses veg oil. But ... chips were just packet frozen chips, mushy peas were very runny, the fish was nice, if a bit fatty - more like a cafe meal - at £11.95 - overpriced for nothing special at all. But, clean and fast service. Okay.

I went to 3 out 4 of these...I bought seafood which wasn't cheap & by the time I got home the crab smelt awful so threw it out!...I ordered a kiddies fish & chips for myself & had to wait 20 mins in a queue to finally get them...The fish was delicious tho hence 3 stars... Then I ordered a Burger for my partner & he enjoyed that but by the time I got my fish n chips my coffee had gone cold...So I would recommend the Shuga Shak for Burgers & a drink...Which can be in a mug or a take away cup!... The fish & Chips as long as you are not in a rush...Didn't try any waffles or ice cream so can't comment on those x

We ordered crepes, really unhappy as they tasted like cardboard, probably because it was premade crepe mix. It seems like we are incapable of making the easiest and healthiest crepe dough. Really dissapointed these days as we keep adding calories to our body and is not even something tasty and worth eating. We were also waiting a really long time for 2 crepes. Waste of my money and more

Nestled in a picturesque village, the White Swan is a charming pub that captures the essence of local hospitality. Despite some recent changes in ownership, this establishment remains a beloved spot for visitors and locals alike. Families will find delight here, as even picky eaters rave about the delicious meals—especially the standout roast dinner and homemade steak & ale pie. The friendly staff create an inviting atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home, including furry friends!
Went for lunch on a sunny Saturday. Went into the lovely accessible beer garden. Enjoyed fish pie, others had burger, steak pie and scampi. All very well presented and very tasty. Good value. Scampi was missed off the order but quickly sorted out with lots of apologies and given for free. Staff were very friendly and efficient... was pretty busy. Highly recommend. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed at one of the cottages at the White Swan which was clean.modern, bright & airy. It was equipped with everything you needed and more. We had an excellent breakfast in the pub every morning which was one of the best breakfast we've had. It was all local produce. All the staff were welcoming and friendly along with great hosts Rachael and Ben. It is also dog friendly with a beautiful beer garden at the back or seating at the front of the pub. We are looking forward to going back when we move to Hunmanby in the near future.

Lovely place to stay. I've been here three times now. Staff are awesome. Breakfast is to be tried as it will not disappoint. Local village is well equipped takeaways, coop and local store, hardware store and a few pubs. It's always been a nice visit on all my occasions. About ten minutes drive to Filey. Hunmanby gap is worth a look. Just check tide times. Fantastic beaches nearby

What can I say a TRUE DIAMOND find, not only is the food amazing succulent and tasty, from the stone baked pizzas through to an Italian style tomatoe and cheese garlic bread. All the boxes were ticked and we had a truly amazing time! We not only be here again however it is the only place I trust with my family. If you ever have the chance go and witness the hospitality that sets standards a truly amazing find from the bottom of my heart thank you!

We (extended family of 6 adults plus our 2yo) have been visiting the village for a week and decided to go out for a meal here rather than cook in the holiday let one night. The pub itself is well looked after and typical for a British country village, but our high rating is for the lovely food and particularly the really welcoming and friendly staff. While they have a policy of no tabs due to some past incidents - which is understandable - the bar staff were lovely, making conversation with our daughter and they have even designed their own colouring book for younger kids to keep them occupied which was a really nice touch. Portion sizes are generous and everything was well cooked "proper" pub grub

The White Swan was cozy and clean. The staff were very friendly and great with our children. The only downside was that they were running out of food! Every table around us had to change their order, including us. The food was fine when it came out but it was not what we wanted to eat as our previous 3 preferred options had run out. I would try the White Swan again but go earlier in the day!

A friendly inn with clean, basic rooms and good food. It is a very old building so floors and stairs are not modern. Hunmanby is a nice quiet village, only a few miles from Filey. The White Swan is worth of a look.

Lovely pub with decked area at the back. Perfect for sitting outside with a cider on a summer's day. Great bus service time through the town taking you towards Scarborough one way and Bridlington the other.
