Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall is a wildlife sanctuary that offers an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages. The park features stunning gardens, exotic bird displays, interactive animal encounters, and over 130 species of birds. Visitors can get up close with a diverse range of creatures including parrots, penguins, red pandas, donkeys, red squirrels, Asian otters, mini donkeys, pygmy goats, rabbits and guinea pigs.
If you're a lover of wildlife like my wife and I then you'll live this place. Plenty to see and do, the shows and feedings were reallt enjoyable and the staff were all very friendly. We went on a mixed day weather wise but still enjoyed our visit very much. Would love to retirn in future. We were holidaying in Cornwall so if you are, make the most of it and visit as it is a really great place

A great way to spend a couple of hours, so many birds to look at as well as couple of other animals like red pandas and donkeys, plenty to keep kids entertained with various play areas. Each member of staff we spoke to were either highly knowledgeable or very happy and easy to speak to. On the entry desk was a woman I think called Angie (I may be wrong) but she was incredibly happy and very funny. I'd highly recommend for any animal/ bird lovers or families with small kids
Kyle L — Google review
Highly recommend! We visited as nostalgia for my partner from when he was a child and took our two young children under 5. All the birds seemed happy and well looked after. We managed to plan the day around feedings and made time for lunch in the gap between feeds and soft play which my toddler loved! It's also really handy that they sell spare socks as I was wearing sandals on that particular visit and hadn't brought spare to help my little boy around the soft play. Food options looked good and affordable too! Will be visiting next summer for sure.

What a sweet afternoon out at paradise park, we took advantage of the online offer and the journey was easy to get to by car with lots of signs. The staff were friendly at reception and my children were really excited throughout the afternoon. The atmosphere was calm and we didn’t feel rushed. We went on a busy day in August, even though the shows had lots of spectators, the park seemed spacious for everyone and this did not distract from our day. The range of birds were magnificent and we especially loved the Red pandas. The keepers were very knowledgeable and you could see that the enclosures were clean and the animals were calm. The play barn slides were a huge hit and great to cool off. There was a great range of toilets and open pathways for disabled access or pushchairs. We really enjoyed our visit and I would recommend visiting.
White C — Google review
Amazing place. Small but spent 5 hours there. The animal conservation efforts are outstanding, the talks are informative, the rangers were fantastic. Shout out to Archie. The kids loved it. Soft play and picnic areas only add to it. Highly recommend
Shane M — Google review
Really good. Thought it would be an hour walk around and a little boaring ,but was pleasantly surprised. Was there for around 3/4 hours. The birds of prey show was really impressive and very informative. The kids didn't t moan they got board whilst we were there either, which they usually do so it must of been good. Cafe was a bit steep so we went to eat somewhere else but the whole experience was amazing. Would definitely go again. 😊
Rebecca L — Google review
Such a beautiful and well thought out park. You never go more than a few steps without a bench being handy for a break which was perfect for elderly family member that came with us. The only thing you pay extra for was the train, which was a small fee and well worth it for the lovely tunnel of lights. They have every type of bird and lots of events to attend throughout the day with different animal feedings and bird shows. We didn't make it inside the soft play as there was so much to see but its a great addition for if theres a shower. There were several different places for the kids to play as well as farm animals to feed which is always a hit. We had the best day here, all the staff were really friendly and the park was so well looked after. We will be back again!
Becky W — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed Paradise Park, there's, its a great family day out. You can buy nectar and feed the birds, watch the penguin and otter feeding, and watch the bird show. You can even buy food and feed the goats and sheep. The highlight was watching the various different birds fly around the park during the demonstration and listening to popeye the parrot and all the words she can speak, it was fantadtic

Go-karting venue
Coast 2 Coast Karting is the ultimate destination for those seeking an adrenaline rush and a memorable day out. Nestled conveniently near St Ives and Penzance, this outdoor karting venue features a well-designed track that caters to both novices and seasoned racers alike. With modern karts and essential safety gear provided, visitors can race at thrilling speeds while enjoying the camaraderie of friends or family.
Brilliant track layout with a great combination of fast corners as well as some tighter ones which was great to drive. Staff were very friendly, clear with instructions and very well organised. Very impressed. My Son and I also managed to get 1st and second lap times on the day! Would recommend without hesitation.

So much fun! And for all ages, definitely not just kids. Did it for my birthday and had a great time. Wonderful friendly staff and very clean facilities, toilets, etc. Overall, a great trip and would definitely recommend a trip. Was worth the 1 hour drive from where we were staying. I want to go again!
T S — Google review
Very well run, super helpful staff and all equipment is in good condition. Cleanly washed balaclavas (included in the price) and I think the gloves were also cleaned each time. Really enjoyable and definitely want to come back. The only slight downside was that some karts were noticeably slower/less powered than others. Thanks.
Andrew B — Google review
A party of us came go karting today, including my dad who is 82 years old. The Marshalls were amazing with him, particularly the lad wearing the big hat with the string underneath. Please pass on our thanks to them all for going above and beyond. My dad did a lot of motocross in his younger years, loves the smell of engines and go karting today has made his holiday!
Lynn O — Google review
Superb race track near Hayle/St Ives - kids & adults loved it! Great location, communication and customer service. Will visit again! Thank you ☺️
Melissa T — Google review
I went karting at Coast2Coast with my dad and had an amazing time! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel really welcome. The track is really fun to drive, has a great mix of flowing and technical corners, and the karts are a blast. After the session, I had a great chat with one of the marshals about racing lines and techniques, it felt like racer talking to racer. We even had a good conversation with the owner, which made the whole experience feel personal. I didn’t feel like just a customer, it felt like visiting friends who share the same passion for racing. Highly recommend!
Tom D — Google review
Prices are rather expensive, even for the holiday period and then I got stuck with a faulty kart that half the time got stuck in the yellow flag safety mode, which there were some spin outs and collisions, but after passing MY kart was left in that mode while everyone else passes me. Even at the start the kart didn’t responds as it should. I had the accelerator fully on the floor with NO response. Mentioned to the staff, they said they’d look at it but they didn’t sound to be really bothered. I feel like I’ve been conned out of my money by not being able to use the kart to its full ability. The way the staff seemed to not care, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Samuel B — Google review
My family and I had a great time karting, the staff were brilliant, super helpful and friendly and professional. Facilities clean and food and drink reasonable and a good selection. We’ve been before and we will definitely be back!

West Cornwall Shopping Park

Shopping mall
West Cornwall Shopping Park in Truro offers a diverse shopping experience, with a mix of indoor and outdoor stores to cater to all weather conditions. Lemon Street Market is the go-to spot for a variety of shops, cafes, and an art gallery under one roof. The surrounding streets feature popular high street chains as well as local independent boutiques offering unique products.
Good shopping park with a few decent stores. Boots is good and the M&S is good. Those are the main 2 I use when visiting. Parking is good and I never have a problem finding a space. It is a clean and tidy area and looks well kept. Large bins dotted around the car park. Good layout.
Gemma — Google review
This is a really useful retail park located on the A30. Boots has a pharmacy with a late night collection option (very useful for those holiday mishaps). The M&S isn't cheap as you might expect but had a useful range of food and clothes. There's also a Costa Coffee, but I've not been in. The parking is good and the location is great with food and fuel available nearby. A good staging point before heading into Penzance or St Ives, or for stocking up on supplies for heading home
Andrew I — Google review
This is a great little industrial estate with a few shops to browse. There’s a Costa with outside seating to enjoy a drink in the sunshine. Plenty of parking available
Sami S — Google review
The shops are fine, the car park is a bit of a nightmare, during summer I'd definitely recommend shopping off-peak times because honestly you'll lose your mind, or become the master of zen and accept the shitshow 😎
Blair ( — Google review
Oh wow I loved this place, costa had WiFi password clearly on view at the counter, friendly staff. M&S wow, the best one I've ever been in, the clothes department is laid out like a very high end shop, loads of space to browse and the staff were super friendly

This store has been an enormous blessing to our food bank . Despite all their attacks on their computer systems. They have continued to bless us with fresh stocks . There staff are wonderfully helpful in store too . Highly recomend them .

Great service and great staff. Always a good morning or a hello from them apart from one grumpy manager. Customer engagement isn't his forte. He always looks stressed. See if you can spot him.......

Excellent customer service, there was no wait time at all. We got a meal deal for children £3.95 for a main, drink, fruit, biscuits. I think that's a real good value for money. The loaded hot chocolate is amazing! So is the Salated caramel cake I'd definitely recommend to anyone coming to have a cake and coffee because why not while your shopping for some clothes or food shopping treat yourself and enjoy!
Sophie M — Google review
Last year they removed the vegetarian section from their fridges and said they were now storing vegetarian items with their non-veggie equivalents - since then I’ve only been able to find paprika sausages in the whole store (which aren’t very nice). They’ve stopped stocking tofu (except silken tofu which they directed me to once thinking it was the same thing), veggie burgers, regular veggie sausages and a whole host of other veggie alternatives meaning there’s very little on offer for vegetarians.
Sharn W — Google review
Very good quality products, the cornish cheddar is delicious. Helpful and friendly staff. Reasonable prices for the quality. They have locally produced items which is fantastic.

The Bird In Hand is a dog-friendly pub located in Hayle, offering a stunning view of Paradise Park. During the summer, it serves a variety of delicious food from different vendors, including Proper Greek and The Ledge street food. Situated at the entrance to Paradise Park, it's a convenient stop for families after a day out. The pub also hosts music nights and quizzes regularly. Previously known by different names, the building was extended and modernized in 1900.
Loved it here!! Especially on thursday, when the live musicians are playing folk music. They were really great!! :)

I was made to leave as well as my friends by a member of staff named neil for being disabled, i cannot walk properly because of my disability, i have a condition which makes me limp wherever i go (i am physically unable to walk properly) , i came into bird in hand tonight for a couple of drinks with some friends/family, whist i ordered food at greek food at stop outside, a member of staff named neil told my friends that i was to leave premises as he thought that i was on drugs as i was limping because of my disability, he accused me of being on drugs (which i am happy to give blood samples to prove i was not), i was made to leave premises and my friends, told to leave as well, i was massively embarassed and discriminated against for nothing other than being a disabled person with a disability i cannot control and unable to walk properly, because of one ignorant person, i have been publicly embarassed and humiliated, i cannot control my disability i wish i was able to move about like everyone else, but i cannot i am physically unable to do so, to be singled out for my disability and told to leave is disgusting behaviour, and completely unacceptable. (To the people i was out with who who stood up for me as a friend and disabled person, and who stood by me in the face of disgusting discrimination thankyou, and left with me as i was forced to leave thankyou)

McDonald's is a well-known, established fast-food chain recognized for its hamburgers and fries. They provide a variety of quick meals, desserts, and soft beverages. The restaurant offers efficient service by swiftly delivering hot and impeccably cooked food. The staff diligently maintains cleanliness in the vicinity while also ensuring customer satisfaction with their meals. Overall, McDonald's delivers a commendable dining experience that surpasses typical franchise expectations.
Super quick service, piping hot, clean restaurant, friendly staff! Fab!! There are kids activity sheets, colours, book case, tablets, high chairs, outside seating and a kids park. Literally everything!! Highly recommend for a stop off on the way to St Ives.

Bought the chicken which is by far my favourite item on the menu atm. I wish it would be a regular item. Also had the chilli cheese bites with bbq sauce. My go to drink was of course a large mango and pineapple smoothie. Service was very smooth and not one item was wrong. Ordered on the app to get the points.

was absolutely starving after driving around south cornwall. we waited a while to be served at the drive thru. and sadly my milkshake was a bit leaky! it almost went all over the car. the colleague saw this and tried to mop it up but to no avail. i can’t really fault the place though, my cheeseburger was banging. sometimes a cheeseburger just hits the spot perfectly. plenty of parking around there too.
Lucky K — Google review
Service was really slow even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Staff too busy talking rather than serving customers. Received order, got back to my car and realised half the order was missing.

We stopped by on a Saturday evening with a large party of children ( we were 59!) as part as an organised trip to the Scillies. The staff in Hayle were ( as they have been in the past) very accommodating, helpful and particularly friendly with us. We arrange to email them our order in advance so we could make things easier for everybody and everything was spot on! They even replaced a couple of drinks that our kids spilled at no extra cost. All the staff were incredibly efficient and I really thank them for their smiles and kindness.

Visited via drive thru. Got a fairly complicated order right first time which is good for McDonalds. Not local to the area but it delivered in accordance with our McDonalds expectations (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) - will visit again when next in the area

Visited McDonald's [Hayle] today. Weather was fine but the kids’ play area was locked. Told it's due to the slide being wet, but it’s dry and not raining. Disappointed, staff didn’t seem willing to open it. They just can't be asked. I understand that's a busy morning but it won't be for long if they behave like this.@McDonaldsUK”

Best McDonald’s I’ve been too, both child and disabled spaces all clean outside no rubbish blowing around like most. Kids play area obviously closed due to COVID and queuing to enter good COVID safety precautions screens and gel staff wearing masks and cleaning table thoroughly. Staff were really friendly and helpful especially the lady front of house called Emma. It’s always a test of a McDonald’s with special orders both of which were spot on and delivered quickly. Only thing that is missing is EV Charing points.

The Old Quay House is a traditional waterside Cornish inn with estuary views. The food is delicious and the staff are attentive. It's perfect for a day out or a night in Fowey.
We hired the upstairs for a wake. Amazing service, all the staff were brilliant and the food was great. Amazing place to hold events. They really can cater for anything. We had a Cornish buffet and it was brilliant, the mini homemade sausage rolls were especially good. Thank you old quay.

Beautiful location, can't fault it. But we visited for a Sunday carvery. We ordered a small adults priced at 15.25. We were served our meat and Yorkshire pudding. We were also served the vegetables too which a young lad was serving them. I think he needs a lesson on portion size. Because he only gave us literally half a spoonful of peas and carrots and cauliflower cheese. We understand the meat being served to us but vegetables are not expensive, we would have at least expected a spoonful of each. This seems very stingy and tight. Sorry to moan about this but everyone expects value for money.

Had a wonderful dinner at the Old Quay House at the end of our annual Cornish holiday! Great service, very friendly and welcoming and the food just well-cooked and plentiful! We’ll definitely book again next time we’re in the area. A little pot of gold at the end of the rainbow :)

Overall not an awful dining experience. Everything was cooked fine however the food, atmosphere and decoration is more fitting to a certain older clientele, we’re only in our late 20’s but felt very out of place and uncomfortable. My partners burger was fine, cooked well just really lacking in flavour. My chilli was again fine but oily, missing the sour cream and for £18.95 you’d expect a bigger portion and more than 3 tortilla chips. We were seated, finished eating and had paid the bill within 45mins.

Went there for a Sunday Carvery. Food was nice although they served you your vegetables which were portion controlled - a bit like being served a school dinner with portions that would suit a child. Expensive considering the portion!!

We went as a party of 4 and 2 of us ordered the chicken katsu curry on the menu it sounded lovely. But when it arrived the food was just about warm with a small gravy boat half full with curry sauce expecting to be shared between 2 people and when the curry cost £19.75 per person you should not be fighting over the smallest amount of curry sauce. Overall it was not a good experience or place to have dinner we left feeling scammed and hungry so we went to Asda to actually get a meal that we don't have to share!!!

Gwithian Beach is an absolute gem! Stretching for miles with golden sand and rolling waves, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a day by the sea. One of the best things about it is how dog friendly it is – our four-legged friend had the time of their life running along the shoreline and splashing in the surf. The beach feels wonderfully open and spacious, so even when it’s busy there’s plenty of room to find a quiet patch. The views across to St Ives Bay are stunning, especially at sunset, and the dunes behind the beach are lovely to explore too. Whether you’re here for a walk, a surf, or simply to relax and take in the fresh sea air, Gwithian has it all. A truly special place and one of the best beaches in Cornwall – we can’t wait to go back!

What an absolutely beautiful beach! Super clean, dog friendly to the left of the steps that lead down. Lots of people learning to surf, body board and enjoying the water. The Jam Pot cafe, Sunset Surf just 2 close by places for food and refreshments. Life guards operate during the day and a relatively large car park just above beach. Super views that impress year upon year. England has some beauty that's for sure.

A wonderful sandy beach - and enormous - both in width and length (it's over 3 miles long!). You will never have a problem finding a space on the beach for your family to enjoy their time here, even during the most popular times of the year. When the sun is shining and the sea spray hangs in the air, you get some stunning, dazzling views down the shore line (bring some sunglasses!). Also a fantastic place for surfing - whether you're experienced or just starting out.

Beautiful beach, pay parking is using the JustPark app. Lots of people doing paddle boarding. It was high tide during the visit but it was still very nice to sit and listen to the waves and watching the sunset. We love it here.

Bodies of Water
Mutton Cove, located near Godrevy head, is a haven for Grey Seals. The best time to visit is during low tide when you can spot the seals lounging on the beach. It's recommended to bring binoculars for better viewing. During early year visits, you might even catch sight of seal pups as they are now protected in the area. The cove offers a serene environment for these animals to relax undisturbed.
Parked in the national trust car park (paid 2 pound for 1 hour, if I remember correctly as a non-member) a 10-15 minute walk up to the cove depending on how able you are but it is not a strenuous walk. We went around 11am and had some great views and seals were around! Loved it so much. Will be back again and again 😍
Kay A — Google review
Beautiful spot to see seals in their natural habitat. Mutton Cove is just a short, easy walk from the well-organised National Trust car park, which has friendly attendants and plenty of space. The drive up is single lane, but there are lots of passing places so it’s no problem. Once there, the views are stunning and you can clearly see the seals resting below. You can carry on walking along the cliffs or head to Godrevy Beach, which has steps leading down to a gorgeous sandy beach. Peaceful and not built up at all, just one small food kiosk. A lovely place to spend a few hours.

It’s a beautiful beach with a hidden secret!! TOURIST TIP: you must go at the back of the car park and follow the path to an enclosed bay where you can see seals if you lucky. Surprise discovery and i was so happy to be there. The other side of the beach is dog friendly. Super nice car park staff. Take coins for parking!!
Nusynasy S — Google review
Perfect place to go and see some seals in their natural habitat. Please abide by the signs and move away if your dog starts to bark though. Park in the National Trust car park which is free for members. Follow the road up past the toilets then turn right up the footpath to the top of the hill. Below you will see the seals. Best time to visit is at low tide, there's not much of a beach at high tide and this is generally when they go out to feed. If you head to your left there is a lovely short walk around the headland, with great views of Godrevy Lighthouse. Keep an eye out in the water, there are often seals to be seen swimming.
Fliss W — Google review
If you’re going to visit any area of the Cornish coastline and want an exciting and unique experience I would definitely recommend going here. I was beside myself with joy when I approached the viewing point and saw more than 40 seals lying on the beach below! All different colours and sizes. I didn’t have particularly high hopes as places often claim to have a large wildlife presence and don’t always deliver but this was amazing. You have to be quiet to respect their peace but that just adds to the wonder of watching these beautiful animals in their natural surroundings. We ate fish and chips for our dinner on the clifftop by the car park and then walked around the head to visit the cove - such a lush evening!
Amy47g — Google review
Perfect spot for seal lovers! I've been three times now and each time I found it hard to tear myself away. You really do need either good binoculars or a camera with a zoom lens for the best experience as the seals almost look like pebbles to the naked eye. The café further back down the path is great to warm up and eat something sugary after enjoying the scenery! Remember not to disturb the seals by being too loud. ε( っ>⩊< )っ

Beautiful views. Easy to walk not steep. Perfect for families. We were lucky to spot a seals.
Dominika J — Google review
We parked in a National Trust car park. We have saved quite a bit on our holiday being members. It’s best before you go that you check when the tide is low. There is a place up the hill where you can see the seals all laying on the beach at low tide. You can’t spot them at first as they blend in. It’s handy if you have binoculars with you which we did. Amazing to see them in their natural habitat. Early in the year you can spot the pups. Apparently they are protected now so there are quite a few of them. There is also a great view there of Godrevy Head lighthouse. Nice beach there where we sunbathed. The water wasn’t suitable for swimming in as there were quite big waves and lots of seaweed

The Towans is a popular coastal vacation spot known for its stunning 3-mile long beach with soft white sand and dunes. It's a great place for beach swimming and offers traditional lodging options. The area also features the Hayle and The Towans walk, a 6.5-mile circular route showcasing diverse landscapes, making it suitable for families with children. A lovely 2 mile long beach, with the benefit of the lovely Cove Cafe towards the Hayle end.

Very nice beach with clear water. The tide does go out quite far though so you have to walk out very far to get to the water. The waves are also very large, which makes body boarding and surfing very fun

Absolutely stunning beach! Soft golden sands, crystal clear sea, backdrop of rolling sand dunes, its our favourite beach in the world! Amazing sunsets too 💕
Kelly W — Google review
Amazing beach!! This beach stretches around 3 miles and forms part of Godrevy Beach which as my review on that one, if you’re a lover of Sunsets then this is the place to come! Personally I’ve not found a better beach anywhere. Some of the ones in North Devon and on the far Welsh coast get close, but no cigar I’m afraid. As for parking, slightly tricky one as the holiday sites tend to run along this one but you could park up near the Sunset Cafe or there’s a large car park near the Bluff Inn, then you have beach access via a ramp and steps. If you’re into your outdoor photography then this place is heaven.

Walked down the full length a few times which is a decent walk. Got absolutely soak on one occasion. Lots of caves to explore and stacked rocks near the back of the beach.

Absolutely stunning beach and nature reserve. Been on incredible adventures and enjoyed plenty of holidays near here.

Stunning beach. 3 miles long, lovely white soft sand. Can be quite windy, but a great place to be for the day when the sun is shining. There are a few alcoves where you can stay out of the wind, and it’s patrolled by RNLI. A couple of cafes dotted around but this is quite a remote beach, so best to take your own supplies (or be prepared to walk a decent stretch to get to the cafe).
Matt D — Google review
Gorgeous stretch of natural sandy beach, popular for water sports. Due to its general inaccessibility, it is usually lightly used. I think there's a life guard hut on the cliffs over looking the beach, but no actual lifeguards on the beach. There's a small pay and display car park, privately owned, along a very rough track at the end of Sandy Lane. Better pay and display car parking is available at the council owned Gwithian Towans Long Stay one by Gwithian beach, close to the Sunset Surf Cafe.

One of the best beaches in the UK. If you are a surfer or someone interested in exploring surfing you shouldn't miss this beach. I had my first surfing experience and I loved it. You can rent a surf board of your choice and a bodysuit for an affordable price. Note - Plan your parking if you are driving as this place doesn't have plenty of parking spaces. There is a small private parking lot near the beach but you may not get a bay easily.
Karthika R — Google review
Crystal clear beaches, amazing scenery. We visited at the end of May and got full sunshine throughly our visit. This beach is the busiest along the coastline, as it has a mini high street on Fort St. which is a 2 minute walk from the beach. Plenty of restaurants to choose from unlike other beaches nearby. I would advise getting the local train or public transport service to the area, as parking is limited.

Travelling to St Ives by train from St Erth you can enjoy the Coastal views. Eating a Cornish Pastie and having a coffee on the seafront dodging seagulls. I really love St Ives.

Lovely beach. You can rent wet suits and surfboards at the kiosk and the waves are wonderful. Seems to be a very popular place for it. The beach goes on for a few miles around the coast so there is lots of bandwidth for walks or just relaxing on the beach. I hope to return again as I loved this beach.

King George V Memorial Walk in Hayle is a great spot for families with kids, offering a car-free 2.2-mile flat road alongside the Copperhouse Tidal Pool on Sundays. The walk provides pleasant views of the estuary and an opportunity to admire gardening efforts, birdwatch, and observe historical reminders along the way.
Absolutely a lovely walk. No cars allowed since 2012. Dog walkers, joggers, cyclists allowed. Do NOT let your dog swim in the water- I have seen a few (they frighten the birds).

Always a very pleasant stretch of the estuary to walk. Perfectly flat and currently with traffic restrictions currently in place so you can walk the road right by the estuary rather than the path. Always lots of dog walkers. Excellent views out to watch the birds. Somewhat rough surface car park which can be busy.

Bakery
Philps is a renowned bakery in Cornwall known for making the best pasties according to locals. The recipes used are the same as those created by the bakery's founder, Sam Philps. Customers praise the friendly staff and delicious pasties, with some recommending options like Steak and Cheese or veggie cheese pasties. The crust of the pastries is described as crumbly, soft, and divine.
Finally managed to visit a Philps when in Cornwall last weekend, having read rave reviews previously. We weren't disappointed, our pasties were full of meat, potato and pepper and not greasy like some. Wonderful pastries on sale as well - see the photo of the 'Elephant's Foot', so huge we had to share it, but surprisingly light on the stomach.
Andy S — Google review
Best pasties in Cornwall. Coming here for 40 years. This is the smaller shop on Foundry Hill, just down the road from the big Philps on East Quay. Never dissapoints, highly recommended.

Miserable, unhelpful elderly lady with short white hair and glasses serving at the counter. Off putting. Pasties were mildly warm and lacked flavour, overly hyped in my opinion.

Always running out of meat patties- 2 years ago. I've been told countless times this one is no where near as good as the other branches, but came again regardless. It was a hit day and they had fresh cream apple turnovers on the counter. I got my meat patty but it wasn't well made or cooked. It was practically raw. OH had a past and the pastry wasn't cooked well either.

It's a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch or late-night bites. The ambiance is casual and inviting making it an ideal hangout for locals and visitors alike.
Variety in food options, good portions, kids portions is pretty large, all the food was flavorful and to our satisfaction. Service is good, they helped us in selecting items, bring sauces, and check in on us. I ordered the brisket loaded Mac and cheese. We also ordered the salt & chilli crispy squid, pulled brisket burger, and spiced bean burger. The calamari was good. The brisket in the Mac and cheese was good, but the Mac and cheese wasn't flavorful or strong on the cheese flavor. The brisket burger was really good, and plenty of portions. The kids meal, which was fish, was plentiful and flavorful. Overall the food is good especially for the area, and the service is excellent.

A lovely little bar serving top quality food. I ordered the double smash burger and garlic bread. My partner ordered the chicken fillet burger. Both were huge, fully loaded, came with well seasoned fries and very tasty! I had planned to order dessert for my fiancé, but we were both ssoo stuffed we couldn't have eaten it! It was good to see an open kitchen and smell the food as it was cooked. All round, it was an excellent suggestion from the owner of our apartment. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area. There is no parking onsite, but we parked in Asda, across the road, as we had just been shopping for our week down here anyway.

We really enjoyed our dinner here as a group of three. Each of us had a drink, and the total came to around £90 for two starters, two mains, and a kids’ meal. Not exactly cheap, but still better value than what you’d usually find in London or Kent. The seafood dishes were definitely the highlight—much tastier than the surf and turf burger, which made sense since seafood was what we came for. Thank you for the experience! If we visit St. Ives again, we’d happily return—though we’d make sure to book a table next time. We didn’t have a reservation and had to wait until 7pm for reserved tables to be served before being seated at a free table.

After a long day at the beach with the family my wife went looking for a local restaurant to us after getting the GWR back from ST Ives to Healey. Speaking with the staff they accommodated for us having the dog that day and was able to seat us. I must say the service and most of all the food was excellent. Everyone in my group was saying the food was amazing. Burgers banging Flat bread banging Korean bbq pork banging Loaded fries banging A must go to restaurant.

Unfortunately, as we live in the Midlands we are becoming regular but annual customers ! After lunch one day last year we were keen to dine here again ! We were disappointed….only because the first choice and second main course was not available…but simply because they had sold out …so on a positive note that is good, proves the food is cooked to order ! The beers are cheaper than those in the local camp site bars! We really like the place, food and service excellent and is no way « pub food » Service is good, atmosphere is good and food is delicious ….if we return to Hayle we would definitely make this a regular and if time permits we may return next week ! Luckily we managed to squeeze in another lunch! Not disappointed and tried the two dishes that had sold out last week! We will be back in 2026 !

Lovely mid holiday treat of waffles and delicious ice cream! Good range of tasty flavours at a reasonable price. Team serving us were very lovely and friendly to our little ones, even when they took forever to choose what they wanted!

Certainly lovely icecream but the shop in Copperhouse has a very small counter, it could do with a bigger counter with two people serving. I was in there today and it was a quiet a long queue going out into the street I nearly left but I stayed. Two people behind me left after a while and it is not summer holidays yet. It is a large area in there for people to eat their icecreams but has small area to queue and to get served which is very disappointing.

We hired Mr B's vintage ice cream van for an event the day after our wedding and it was brilliant! Our guests absolutely loved it, the ice cream was delicious and Nikki who was serving and also planned the event wirh us is so incredibly helpful and lovely. We went to a tasting session earlier on in the year at one of the shops and that was a great experience too. There are so many flavours to choose from including dairy free/vegan options.

We had a really great experience here recently. The ice creams were genuinely so creamy, and the texture was probably the best I've ever enjoyed. Plus their vegan range was really wonderful, with so many unique flavours to try! There was also a really kind staff member who not only gave us a wonderful service that day, who allowed us to try all the vegan flavours, and was just an overall friendly person. But they were also kind enough to offer me a glass of water to take my morning medication when they noticed I needed it- I'm disabled, and had forgotten my own water bottle, so I really did appriciate their kind help.

Lovely service here by the lady serving us. The ice cream was a good portion size and tasted nice, Wouldn’t of said the ice cream was anything out of the ordinary though. Although would of liked a clotted cream flavour which is one of my favourites. My partner had the lotus biscoff and said she enjoyed it but was a little fiddly to eat when it came to the waffle with the spoon provided. Would have again though. Thank you

They are Simply The Best ! Just picked up our order, the speed of service is amazing. The staff are all very friendly and the food, exceptional. Yeah I know people bang on about flavours, presentation and service but with a takeaway all you can really rate is the quality and taste of the food. We always have a takeaway when in Hayle and this place is our absolute favourite. The menu choice is varied, the food is freshly prepared and hot. Absolutely delicious!

Must try place if you are missing home food. They also make it extra special spicy if you ask. The hospitality is at par and everyone will make you feel home. The food is nice, me and my family liked it a lot. They changed the curry when we didn’t like one as it was sweet for us, they re-did it and made it spicy for us. The grill platter is amazing. Very friendly and polite service but the food was pretty awful. I ordered some onion bhaji which had been left in fryer and were like rock..I THINK THEY WERE OLD.. In the bin. Chicken tikka masala.. CHICKEN pieces in a very sweet sauce.. That's it.. Nothing else just meat and sauce. Had half and in the bin.. Had a chefs lamb special.. It was tender.. It was the best dish but lacked flavour. Do I recommend?... No.

Me and my wife had the pleasure to try this place on our last night of a 16 day break in Cornwall. Cannot fault anything at all from the service food and staff, I sampled a dish I had never heard of before and was really pleased with my findings. Really cannot give this small business any better rating than I had, great experience, brill service, only downside is parking, but if park at pub next door have a drink put registration in at bar easily leave car there for duration of stay whilst eating.

Although we may have ordered more than necessary, our group of five made a valiant effort to finish it all. Being local residents, we look forward to returning for more delightful experiences.
Arrived in area after a long drive, so decided to eat out. Came here as it was near Caravan Park. It was an excellent meal and great beer. I had a seafood risotto, which was absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back 👍

Nice pub with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a decent beer selection. We had booked a table for dinner and were seated and our order taken promptly. Then we waited… After about 40 minutes the waitress asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu and was surprised when we said that we’d not had our main course yet. Ten minutes later the table next to ours received their food despite arriving and ordering about 30 minutes after us. I asked the waitress where our food was and it did then appear five minutes later, almost an hour after ordering. I suspect that our order had been lost/forgotten. I know that mistakes happen, and the waitress did apologise for the delay, but it kind of spoilt our evening out. The food was good (eventually) although not amazing.

Fantastic Sunday lunch . Proper Yorkshire Puddings , beautiful veg selection & fantastic gravy. Broad selection of ales, casks & brights. Friendly, chatty staff. Spent couple nights in there as staying at site across the road. Busy with locals & tourists . Great music too.

Really enjoyed our meal at the Red River Inn. Fantastic food, very friendly service and great local beers. Would recommend! Dog friendly too :)
Brogan W — Google review
Booked a table and had a short wait to be seated which as the pub was busy was expected. Our food and drink order was taken and 15 minutes later was told there would be a delay on our food order, but again not a problem. After 30 minutes drinks had still not arrived, so went to find our server who chased them up. Was then told the beer I ordered was not available, so then waited for another. The food order arrived, fish and chips was apparently OK, I had the chicken burger which was poor, soggy chips and tasteless chicken. When we wanted to order another round of drinks, server again had vanished, so went to the bar myself and was served in a couple of minutes. Finally asked for the bill, server again vanished, so went to the bar to pay, also having a service charge included was a joke. I have reviewed many pubs and do not like leaving negative feedback, but the levels of service and quality of the food means I feel it needs to be flagged up.

We met friends for an evening meal and drinks. Service was good and friendly. Food was good and a little better than normal pub fare. Overall a great night out.

If you're looking for a refreshing outdoor swimming experience away from the sea, Hayle Swimming Pool is an excellent choice. Nestled along King George V Memorial Walk, this inviting pool is perfect for sunny summer days and features fun slides that kids will adore. Just a short stroll from Rainbow, it offers a clean and well-maintained environment where families can enjoy quality time together. While the changing rooms could use some attention between sessions, the friendly staff are always ready to assist with bookings and provide helpful advice.
My kids absolutely love this place but be warned it is FREEZING 🥶. My son lasted 20 mins and my daughter the full 2 hour session ! We had a large chips between the 2 kids for £3.60 which I thought was going to be 3 chips each but there were plenty for a 10&7 year old, they also had a lolly and a drink each. Parking is easy and also can access Hayle beach from this point if you do not wish to pay for parking at the carpark up top.

Booked tickets online. Entry is by the gate at the side right on your entry time. There was only 2 lifeguards but there weren't many of us booked in at the time. The changing rooms and toilets were both dirty. The website advertises showers. There was one shower in the ladies changing room with a meter by it asking for 20p. With the dirt all over the floor I really didn't fancy using this and changed outside under my towel. The pool is advertised as heated but it was freezing! It hadn't been the nicest of days though so I bet on a lovely blue sky day it warms to a lovely temperature. There is a cafe on site serving snacks, drinks and ice creams but we didn't use it. You are asked to leave the pool 15 minutes before the end of your 2 hour session. Unfortunately we only managed an hour so can't comment on this rule. Would go back and hopefully the changing room and toilets are cleaner next time.

Went today with a 5yo and a 7yo, we was in no longer than 7minutes. The pool itself was absolutely vile, the dirtiness was horrible, the pool was so cold the weather was decent but the pool definitely didn’t have time to warm up. The changing facilities were something out of a horror movie. It was absolutely vile. £14 for a 7 min swim and 2poorly children vile: will never come again.

I enjoy open water swimming and wasn't sure of the tides in the estuary so for safety I booked myself into this charming Lido. It was a drizzly day and the water was lovely, warmer than the Lake I usually swim. Other folks in the pool commented on the water being cold for them. The staff were polite and professional. I had a lovely swim and with certainly recommend the Lido.

Booked on line and also called up to enquire and the staff are so polite and friendly giving great advice. It's a popular place so please book on line to get a place. The pool is clean warm 👌 the venue is clean and 20p gets you a warm shower after a swim...no lockers but once everyone is in the doors are shut u have 3 life guards even when it rains its open 🤗 loved swimming here well done to the staff and local council great activity for families
Saira — Google review
We love this little outdoor pool, the swimming pool is clean and well kept; the slide is a great addition. Changing rooms are a bit smelly at the 4pm session we’ve noticed though - they need cleaning in between sessions. More importantly the lifeguards are often not vigilant enough and sit together chatting rather than being spread out. Both easily sorted issues which should be addressed quickly as if an incident were to occur, I don’t think the lifeguards would necessarily even notice.

Antique store
Shopping
Hayle Emporium is a haven for those seeking unique and unconventional items. From wooden decorative boxes to vintage padlocks, the store offers an array of intriguing curiosities. Antique treasures like wooden chapati preparation tables, a Bibendum (Michelin man) table lamp, marbles, enamel house numbers, and old wooden pulley blocks are also available for purchase.
All I can really say is "Wow!!!!!" What a quaint and beautifully quirky shop, full of both real and reproduction antiques from many countries and times. Hand made oddities & one off/limited production quirky gifts, and things that will boggle your mind, it was a joy to visit and a honour & pleasure to make purchases, with history and stories about each item, the owner is a treasure of a person to talk to and buy from at fair prices. Absolutely a must to visit if you are in the area on holiday. We even managed to buy several gifts/oddities/antiques, that I am seriously having problems finding information about.

Lovely people , friendly, polite, and helpful . Prices are fair, and their stock is unique. We have bought many items from them over the past 3-4 years . A must for lovers of quirky and not run of the mill items...

Driven past this place many times when visiting relatives but never stopped by. Popped in today and it is a great little shop. Some unusual collectors pieces. Found a beautiful travel clock just like my nan use to own. A small divers helmet and some lovely tea cups n saucers all at a great price. The owners were very pleasant and nice people. Had a lovely chat with them. Definitely recommend.

One or two things that caught my eye, wooden decorative boxes, vintage padlocks, wooden chapati preparation tables,Bibendum (Michelin man) table lamp, marbles, enamel house numbers, old wooden pulley block(we bought it),vintage navy compass replica, enamel advert signs, brass scales,telescopes....... So many other things that I had no idea I wanted. Random curios comes to mind but doesn't cover it. To me this is the place to buy things for a house with personality!

What a fantastic place to poke about. If you’re after a quirky antique shop (run by a knowledgable and kind father-son duo) with a variety of antique, vintage, and misc. oddities where you never know what you’ll find, this place belongs on your itinerary. We left very happy customers with our own treasures from Cornwall to remember our holiday by. Thank you very much, Malcolm and James! We hope to one day return.

History Museums
The Hayle Heritage Centre offers several rooms with local information, particularly about the history of Hayle including iron works and foundries. It is recommended to spend around half an hour there. However, some visitors were a bit disappointed as the rooms seemed filled with volunteers who were busy talking amongst themselves and not paying much attention to the customers. It's possible there was a meeting taking place at that time.
Not just a local museum, exhibits themed with a series of lectures over a few months as a result of considerable research. The result is an amazing, fascinating and enthralling peep into the past. Visiting museum is a treat, the lecturers add even more insight. Tickets for talks are on Eventbrite.

Several rooms of local information, explaining the history of Hayle especially iron works, foundries etc. Well worth half an hour. I was a little put out by the rooms seemingly being full of volunteers, all of whom were talking to each other, and ignoring the customers. Maybe there was a meeting on?

A Hidden Gem. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this centre. There is a lot of very interesting information about the history of the local area, very well displayed. The staff are extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. I was very impressed with the way different staff and volunteers approached visitors soon after they entered the centre and offered whatever assistance was needed. The first room focuses on the area in prehistoric times. The second concentrates on more recent history, and the building itself is an important part of the history of the town. The main entrance is slightly tucked away around a corner, but it is well worth looking for. Don't let the stone steps up to the centre put you off. A few places back from the road is a lift to assist any who need it, eg wheelchair users or people with pushchairs. I note that they also advertise a summer talks programme, and that there are weekly (I think) activity sessions for children . I spent an hour there and will go back to finish looking at the exhibits.

RSPB Hayle Estuary is a must-visit for bird enthusiasts, offering a comfortable hide with parking and local information displays. The area is a natural harbor that was once vital for trade and transportation. Today, it's a significant conservation site that attracts numerous wetland birds annually. With its rich wildlife, the estuary provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching, especially during high tides.
No matter what the season or weather there’s always peace to be found in this beautiful natural spot in the west of Cornwall. Walks and nature at its best.

Great estuary although best for bird watching in other seasons we still saw a good variety when we went on a July afternoon. Nice big bird hide to view from. Path along carnsew road is narrow and the road is busy so be careful while walking.

Great time, be careful crossing very busy road to view estuary.
Dale B — Google review
A good number of birds seen at low tide. The path that leads around the Carnsew Pool gives good views from all sides with minimal disturbance to the birds. Parking is conveniently situated on the Asda car park. Further down the road is the Ryan's Field area. This has a well defined path around the area. There is a hide at one end of the area, this is well made and well positioned to give good views.
Paul M — Google review
The RSPB maintains a good hide here which is comfortable, has parking and displays local information. The hide is near the estuary where there is a myriad of wild fowl and waders to see. Often has rare migrants along the estuary but the hide itself does not over look the best bird watching area. A good pair of binoculars or preferably a scope is needed to see the birds and pay careful attention to the tides. There are several car parks along the estuary where good views can be obtained.

Shanty Baba's Lantern Ghost Storywalk, St Ives Cornwall

Discover the enchanting town of St Ives, Cornwall, through the captivating 'Shanty Baba's Lantern Ghost Storywalk.' Led by storyteller Shanty Baba, this 75-minute guided tour unveils the historical and mysterious side of St Ives. Departing from Westcotts Quay, near the RNLI Lifeboat House, you'll be immersed in tales of smugglers, ghosts, and intriguing local legends.
Ahoy, fellow ghost enthusiasts and fearless sailors of the supernatural seas! If you're in the mood for some spirited adventure and phantom fun, look no further than the "Shanty Baba" Ghost Tour in St. Ives. Prepare to embark on a spectral journey filled with eerie tales, spine-tingling excitement, and maybe, just maybe, a hint of the afterlife! Upon arriving at the meeting point, we were greeted by Captain Shanty Baba, a ghostly pirate guide with a flair for storytelling that could raise the dead! He took us through the cobblestone streets, once home to notorious pirates and mischievous spectres. Now, while we did hope for a few more firsthand accounts of actual ghosts, I can't deny that the tales of haunted taverns, spooky lighthouses, and a few too many accounts of dead children to be entirely appropriate or normal did set the perfect eerie atmosphere. Just when we began to wonder if we'd encounter any actual phantoms, the unexpected happened – the tour took an electrifying turn! A real ghost (yes, you read that right) made a cameo appearance, and luckily, I managed to get a photo. It happened in the middle of the graveyard portion of the tour - right on cue. Captain Salty Bones handled the ghostly encounter like a seasoned sailor, and I must commend him for keeping his cool amidst the supernatural shenanigans. In conclusion, the "Shanty Baba" Ghost Tour is an entertaining and spooky adventure worth experiencing. With Captain Salty Bones at the helm and a genuine ghostly surprise, it's a hauntingly hilarious way to spend an evening in St. Ives. Whether you're a sceptic or a die-hard believer, this tour will surely leave you with a tale to tell – and maybe even a spectral dance partner! So, hoist your ghost detector high and set sail with Shanty Baba – where real ghosts party! 👻🎉

Cannot recommend enough. Shanty is a consummate storyteller. The stories are just the right amount of chilling & scary but Shanty's faultless delivery elevates it to street theatre. Compelling & brilliant. Do not miss it when in St Ives.

I went on Shanty's folklore walk in the summer and absolutely loved it! He was really knowledgeable, a very engaging story teller and it was lovely to do something different after visiting St Ives for the last 20 years! I was keen to explore a few of the places mentioned in the stories and Shanty kindly recommended some local ancient sites which I was so grateful for. My brother goes on Shanty's ghost walk every year and loves it. Shanty always looks out for him and he was thrilled to hold the lantern this year! I highly recommend booking one of the walks if you're staying in the area.

We booked this experience for our 12 year old son as a surprise. As a family we were very impressed and surprised by the fascinating stories told by Shanty. He was very engaging and we were hooked by his story tell ing. We would thoroughly recommend it and we enjoyed every minute of the walk experience. Shanty thank you for sharing your meditation method with us and look forward to trying it. On our next visit we hope to join you on your other experiences:

Very interesting place showing a lot of local history. Only £5 for adults to go in. The museum was originally the seaman's mission, so the building itself is great to look around. Disabled access via a stair lift, so not suitable for someone who is unable to transfer. The ladies were very knowledgeable and helpful. Great on a day like today we're the weather is a little wild.

Blas Burgerworks is a cozy eatery located in St Ives, Cornwall, known for whipping up delicious beef, chicken, or bean burgers served with chips. Despite the seemingly expensive prices, visitors are pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the burgers. The small eco-friendly restaurant boasts a professional grill and offers a variety of burger options including the Kiwi Burger with beetroot, cheese, pineapple, egg, salad, and mayo.
Well, if we could give 10 stars we would! The best burger, best chips, best onions rings and the best service! Incredible, we were speechless, such good food! Would highly recommend trying out this hidden gem.

I enjoyed my first burger (peppercorn sauce & blue cheese special) so much that I had to go back on my final evening in St Ives to have the chorizo and feta! The deserts were amazing too - best cookie dough and bannna split. Very cool place!

we were lucky to find one of the few tables at dinner time. one of the best burgers i’ve had, juicy and with a tasty bun. i also liked the chips and special salt flakes. they have kids options and the staff was helpful in choosing from the menu. i had the burger with chili aioli and liked!!!
Ezgi M — Google review
Amazing burgers, one of the best ones I had and very creative flavours. Also, their onion rings are gigantic and crispy! Lots of gluten free and vegan options, we had to go back twice in our short trip to St Ives, too good!
Janis D — Google review
Don't make the mistake of thinking that the food Blas offers is "just" a burger. They are about as far away from a burger-joint burger as is possible to get; The food here is in a class of it's own. I think it's good value given the quality of the food - not cheap but worth every penny. The best burger I've ever had.
Disgruntled D — Google review
AMAZING. That sums it up really, no complaints at all about this banging burger joint. Went here two weeks in a row on our holiday to St Ives, my partner had the special with beef both times and said they were some of the best burgers he's had. I was impressed that all of their burgers could be made vegetarian and vegan. The beef / bean / chicken way of doing things is great, makes for a less stressful ordering experience. It's also nice to be able to eat the same things as everyone else as a vegetarian, instead of sitting there with your sad salad or the dreaded falafel wrap when your mates dig into their gourmet burgers. Also that cookie dough dessert you're not sure you should get? Get it. You won't regret it. Love their commitment to being green as well, karma drinks are a personal fave anyway and always happy to see them on a menu. The GuacaNOle was awesome and I'll be experimenting with making something like that myself! Highly recommend, don't miss out on this gem when you visit St Ives.
Jessica P — Google review
The burgers were quite good, but a little overpriced for what they are. Even the most basic option is nearly £20, with cheese (admittedly very tasty) an extra £2, and only a small portion of chips on the side. Similarly, the signature GuacaNOle was a fun idea, but nothing too distinctive in flavor, and the tortillas were a bit ordinary and far too few for the price.
Benedikt — Google review
Ambience and service is great but their burgers are way overpriced for what they serve. And they also don’t have beers on tap :(

We had a really lovely experience here last night! The staff were friendly, attentive and couldn't do any more for us. The food was some of the best we have ever had, hot, fresh, tasty (the pork belly bites and they were amazing!)I would really recommend this place if you're in the area 😊☀️
Shannen B — Google review
Last night we went here, it was dad's first time but I've been before. We had olives and artichokes for starters. For mains we had pork shoulder steak with patatas bravas and slaw. The pork was the most delicious I've tasted as it was seasoned in a secret recipe. For dessert we had tarta de Santiago de Compostela which was an almond cake from Galicia.
Jonathan P — Google review
We went in as it was on our way back from a trip. We looked at the menue and ordered a veg burrito which was nice and chicken tacos which were a bit dry but overall nice. The only problem was that the food was extremely overpriced for a restaurant on the side of the road. But since it seemed fresh we did not mind and the portion size was pretty good. What we did mind actually was that we mindlessly ordered fries, it wasn’t written on the menu but they said they had fries. It was a very small portion of fries which was okay until the bill came and we realised the fries were 8.5 pounds! For a small plate of fries! Plus they got mayo or something like that with it and charged an extra 1 pound for it! It wasn’t even that great and we didn’t even ask for it. So just be cautious going in. The food is great but i think the fact that they don’t have a printed menu and can price anything however they want is problematic.
Tanvi W — Google review
We came for dinner on Saturday night (luckily there was space without a reservation). There was just one person working but they were incredibly attentive as well as getting food out to us quickly, the food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend the tacos!

Fantastic range of tapas food, and delicious flavours. Portions are generous and would recommend asking the staff one quantities to order. My family and I have eaten here a few times now and every time we've been impressed. The food is great, the service fantastic and the prices very reasonable. I'm not sure how people are saying its expensive, they must not have eaten out in Cornwall recently. Our only problem was picking what to order. So many good choices that we wanted to order them all. Highly recommended and look forward to returning next time we are down in Hayle.

In Hayle, there are various dining options including Indian, Chinese, and Italian restaurants. The Eastern Empire is a popular Chinese restaurant known for its delicious food and quick delivery service. Customers praise the generous portion sizes and flavorful dishes such as beef cantonese and sweet and sour sauce. The restaurant also holds a 5-star food hygiene rating, ensuring quality and cleanliness. Many patrons appreciate the prompt delivery times and friendly service provided by the staff.
We had a meal from here tonight to celebrate our engagement and the food was amazing the crispy duck was perfect and so was the chow main. We've been coming every year for at least the last 4 and have never been disappointed

A mixed-bag this one. In the area so picked up a take-away for four people. The food was generally pretty tasty, no real issues except the chips were a bit “hard” (overcooked). The premises could do with being tidied up. The restaurant has been closed for sometime but it just looks messy beyond the seating area. For what it’s worth I did eat in the restaurant back in 2017, again the food was nice and the waitress gave us free drinks all evening which a nice touch!

We ordered for delivery and recieved the food within 15 minutes. I already thought there was no way this is fresh. The chilli chips were wet on the outside from the seasoning but drier than a sandal in the centre. They had obviously been sat around for a while. The sweet and sour sauce was okay but all coagulated so again was obviously not fresh. The bean curd skins were soggy even though supposed to be deep fried and we had the same issue with the 'crispy' chilli beef. It was all soggy and chewy. No crunch to it at all. The curry sauce tasted like flour, very bland, nothing like I had tasted before. The bang bang chicken was nothing like bang bang chicken. It was some shop bought pre cooked chicken strips chucked on a little lettuce and some sort of peanut mayo. Overall this is probably the worst chinese takeaway we have ever had. Nothing was fresh and nothing tasted good . We were first time customers and I will tell you we will not be back. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items but with it all not being fresh and not to any standard we have had before I feel this is one to miss for sure. I would rather eat my cats litter.

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had! I had plain beef noodles and the beef had a tube in it 🤮 never eating from there again !!!

Do not reccomend*** Ordered over the phone to collect, spoke to an English girl. Special house chow mein Egg fried rice Prawn crackers Got home to find that the special house chow mein was full of chilli and I detest spicy food!!! So that went in the bin. Shrimp had shell on. Egg fried rice was dry with no egg in it!! Thank God for the prawn crackers as they were the only good thing about the meal. Needless to say that I won't be ordering from here again and i do not recommend!!

Haven't ordered in over 2 years, ordered online last night, delivery on time, food good and hot, many thanks, a great improvement on last time and the food was tasty and good. Many thanks Harriet

Had a mixture of dishes and all tasted great. The sauce was nice and thick just as we like it. The guys serving us both nice and polite. Take note it is take away only, there is no restaurant.

Restaurant
Sanders Fish and Chips is a casual dining spot in the heart of Hayle, offering classic British fare served at a counter with beer and wine. The restaurant is known for its good-sized portions, crispy batter, and excellent sauces at reasonable prices, making it a great choice for families. Additionally, they are famous for their creamy milkshakes.
Just ordered for 10 people, food was prepared on time for our collection. All food was freshly prepared and still very warm upon arrival at our campsite. All members of our party commented on the quality of the chips and the freshness of the fish. Would totally recommend.
Andy K — Google review
Came here with our small family, didn't realise it was just before close but they still served us. We really enjoyed the fish, chips, sausages and garlic mushrooms. Don't know about others saying the food is greasy, ours was borderline healthy with nice clean chips and no salt, which we added to our liking at the table. Brought back childhood memories of classic fish and chips whilst not feeling too guilty! Will definitely revisit on our next Cornish adventure through Hayle
Aaron C — Google review
The best fish and chips we've had in Cornwall. Much better than another famous fish and chip shop further up the north coast. The batter was light and crisp with real flavoursome chips. Great staff.
Nicola B — Google review
Decided to order food for take out from here based on other reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was fresh and portions were generous, could have done with a bit more vinegar on the chips, but they were tasty, and the fish batter was light and crispy. Would definately recommend!
Irfy P — Google review
I orderd fish n chips, The fanta and the curry were good the rest a gave away to the seagulls because it was disgusting. Way to greasy and to expensive!
Joris — Google review
Superb lunch stop, best haddock and chips ever, so fresh and delicious! Perfect batter, crispy, fresh oil, everything is just quality, don't change a thing, thank you, we will be back.
Nick J — Google review
Good fish and chips, well priced. Fish crispy, chips nice texture 👌
Jon C — Google review
Service can be hit or miss, wait times can be long even when it doesn't look too busy. Fish is okay, but there is better in the area. Chips are great though. Prices are a little on the high side (but where isn't these days?) Chicken burger is terrible though. Avoid that for sure.

Smart gallery with plenty of space and a Smart Selection of artwork and sculptures. It’s also nice because the gallery has lots of separate sections. Would have been nice if the venue had some music to create some ambience and also some toilets.

Fantastic gallery: full of interesting and inspiring pieces, in various media. Highly recommended (and far superior to Tate St Ives). Free to enter, friendly staff, very enjoyable to visit.

Porthminster Gallery is a vibrant and award-winning art space located in St Ives, showcasing an impressive mix of local and British modern art by established and emerging artists. The gallery features a diverse collection of post-war and contemporary pieces by renowned artists such as David Hockney, Henry Moore, and Margaret Lovell. Visitors can admire and purchase paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and original signed prints from curated exhibitions.
Terrific art gallery in st. Ives featuring mostly west coast artists. Lots of paintings and ceramics at a good range of prices. Service has been very good.
Rachel S — Google review
Probably only second to Tate as a gallery in the area that has both big names and some of the best local and other artists. Been hear a few times and the staff are always friendly and knowledgable. The prices very fairly reflect the high quality of work - they are part of the Own Art scheme. A hour hour spent here is great fun, thought provoking and educational. I would have loved to own almost everything on my visit last week.
Shirley G — Google review
Lots of pieces on display covering a wide variety of artists and price ranges. Prices range from £150 to £11000 from what I saw. The owners are very friendly and show passion for what they sell without being pushy. It's well set out and the works are well lit. It's worth going in just for a browse and a chat about the work.

Wonderful collection of art and ceramics
Chrissie T — Google review
The Porthminster Gallery is run by David and Dee. In my opinion, both are absolute charlatans, but David must receive extra credit for being a snivelling weasel to boot. If only there were a facility to leave a negative number of stars. Why? About 13 years ago we visited the Adze Art Gallery in York run by David and Dee. They approached us and asked if we had any specific interests, to which we sheepishly replied that we were looking for an investment piece rather than any particular work by any specific artist - fully admitting that we were about as far from being art officianados as you could probably ever get. They were, of course, extremely friendly and 'helpful' and David took the lead; directing us towards a Tony Scrivener oil on canvas piece. He made a convincing case as to why this would be a good investment piece and even said that they often buy their pieces back. Therefore, we followed David's advice and purchased the Tony Scrivner painting. Cut to 13 years later and the time has come for the aforementioned painting; which has never been displayed for obvious reasons; to go. Obviously my first port of call was the Adze Art Gallery, but that doesn't exist anymore, so with the help of Google and my amateur sleuthing skills, I found out that David and Dee now run the Porthminster Gallery. I, therefore, made several calls requesting that David contact me with regard to selling the piece, but no reply ever came. Each phone call brought a new excuse from whoever it is who answers the phone, as to why he hadn't contacted me. I then sent an email, which was responded to 3 weeks later, informing me that they were sorry that nobody had been in touch but that David would contact me soon - he's always incredibly busy preparing for exhibitions apparently O.o. I responded to say that I looked forward to hearing from him and was just relieved that he was indeed too busy to speak to me as I had begun to worry that he might actually be avoiding me. I wonder if the sarcasm was noted. Quelle surprise! Yet again, the promised phone call never materialised. Unfortunately I don't DO shrinking away into the background, so it was time for me to ring the gallery...again. To my shock and awe, it was Dee who answered the phone. She knew all about my contact, saying, "Oh yes, yes, the Tony Scrivener...no...we wouldn't be interested in buying that". And that was it! No further comment. No no further suggestions or advice. Just 'no'. I went on to remind her exactly why we had initially visited the gallery and how we had come to purchase this particular painting, at which point she did offer some rather 'helpful' advice as to how "one should only ever buy art that one loves", etc. It was I who then asked whether they could actually exhibit the piece rather than buying it directly from me. It turns out that they can - for a small fee. However she could offer no advice as regards to art couriers or any particular companies that they use etc. When I then researched this myself it was prohibitively expensive to send the painting from here in the North West down to Cornwall, so it is still languishing in the attic. Absolute pair of charlatans, who have conducted themselves abonimably.
Audrey W — Google review
I purchased a Terry Frost print for £3,040. After their courier delivered it I found that it had not been properly mounted. I was told this had occurred before due to incorrect tape being used, but my picture was not checked. I was expected to wait five weeks before the item could be repaired and returned. Simply unacceptable.
Greg G — Google review
Lovely collection and I had such an easy time of buying a piece of art. Friendly staff talked me through the finance agreement and my piece of art delivered with care.

Kim is an amazing woman! Her talent is amazing! We have a few peace’s of hers! That my in-laws have got for us. She did kitty’s corner for us as a request as we had it as a wedding gift from the in-laws as that’s where my partner proposed to me. She is an amazing lady! I have ordered some more peace’s from her yesterday expecting them tomorrow!! Fast delivery too!! Thank you Kim! Your paintings/services/communication is amazing! ❤️

We have made several purchases from Kim, all unique as no piece of art is the same. If she hasn't got what you are looking for she is more than willing to paint it for you, which she has do for us on more than one occasion. Not only is Kim a very talented artist but also a lovely person to deal with. We recommend her work 100%.

Contacted Kim regarding a commission piece Christmas bauble for my parents, who sadly can no longer travel to St Ives. The bauble was completed in good time, and was packaged and posted and arrived safely. They were delighted with the bauble, even more so that an artist based in St Ives created it. Very pleased indeed. Thanks Kim.

Honestly one of the best artists in Cornwall in my opinion, we’ve got a bit addicted to buying Kim’s art and have about 7 pieces in our house! I recommend visiting Kim’s place to check out the art and meet Kim herself who’s a lovely lady! We’re just saving up for our next ones!

This dog-friendly pub in St. Ives is welcoming, with plenty of delicious food and beverages to satisfy any canine palate. From beers and wines to pies and puddings, your dog will be able to relax while you enjoy a pint or two inside this charming establishment.
We have eaten or had a drink here most of the 16 nights we were in st ives. Didn’t have a bad meal and all plentiful. their Sunday roasts were fantastic and the fish pie so good I had it on 4 occasions. The liver and bacon was so tender and the meal so big couldn’t eat it all. Husband loved the chilli and sister in law said the burger was great. The fish n chips were lovely too. Definitely would recommend eating here. the staff were very friendly especially Laura and Margaret can’t wait to go back in July. Loved the fact that although it was dog friendly so always had dogs in there they were only allowed on the floor so no noses or fur near where people eat and if they were picked up staff soon asked they were put on floor. See you all soon

Stopped here to keep out of the pouring rain, and to use the toilets. The staff were friendly, and accommodating - it was really busy but they still gave us a table despite us not ordering food. I had Cornish Smugglers rum and lemonade - it was gorgeous! There's a great selection of local beer and spirits and having checked out the food menu, and seeing the hearty plates leaving the kitchen, would definitely come back for a meal. Great traditional pub, serving traditional food and drinks, highly recommended.

Had delicious lunch of fish pie. Huge portion at very reasonable price of £12. The two female bar staff were so friendly and helpful. A lovely find in a pricey and busy town.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was very good. Large portion, hot, and tasted amazing, service by the ladies was on point, friendly and warm welcome. We will definitely go back again during our stay, make sure you go. They don't take bookings so I'd it's full have a pint and wait, you'll be glad you did. Proper old school pub, we loved it!

It started a bit weird we can admit that. I had to pay before the service but we took our chances. The food comes really fast. Less than half of pint of Guinness later everything was on the table fresh hot lovely made. Perfect music and sound level. Lovely staff. Amazing location. Enjoy every minute of it. Tomorrow is an other day, but don’t count on it.

On a busy Tuesday in July we found The Union Inn after a recommendation from a local shop keeper. We easily found a table for 5 and duly ordered drinks and food. Good pub grub, I had a burger which was well priced for central St Ives and plenty of it. Staff were really friendly behind the bar and the lady you brought our food out.
Jonathan ( — Google review
We visited yesterday with friends for food, one of the lunches we Asked for jacket potato with chilli and cheese we were told they can’t do cheese on it bar woman told they don’t do that and don’t have the tools to grate it ?? This woman was a real people person NOT. When the chilli came out it was ridiculously hot and not in temperature I had a few mouthfuls about quarter and couldn’t eat anymore the rest of our table tried it and said the same thing, we re looked at the menu to see how we missed some warning of hot and spicy etc but nothing. All my party on the table have had many chillies but nothing like this it was ridiculous. I’ve just spent last day and night suffering with really bad heartburn. We would have said something to the blonde hair lady behind the bar but clearly she wouldn’t have been helpful in anyway.

Seafood restaurant
The Loft Restaurant & Terrace offers a unique dining experience in Cornwall, with its airy exposed-stone loft space and terrace providing stunning views of the harbor. This dog-friendly venue is popular among locals and visitors alike, offering a relaxed yet luxurious atmosphere for enjoying seafood dishes and grilled specialties. Located near holiday cottages in St Ives, it's an ideal spot for indulging in Sunday lunch or savoring naughty afternoon cocktails on the terrace.
Had the shrimp starter, linguini and chowder paired with a glass of zinfandel. The food was tasty and tasted amazing. The portions were big, definitely bring an appetite. Service was excellent. Would come here again no questions asked.
Cezar-Eduard D — Google review
The food was lovely, especially the mussels and lamb ragu. The haddock was dry and that whole meal was pretty bland. We also had the prawns to start and they were lovely, but maybe overpriced. All in all, a lovely experience, but the haddock let it down slightly.
Georgia C — Google review
As a reviewer, I always search for the positives and the mussels were definitely that, they were great! However, I was put off from ordering a starter and a dessert because of the poor service which was polite but slow. After waiting 30 minutes, the restaurant wasn't busy, our drinks and food order was finally taken and the food and drinks arrived at roughly the same time; like buses but without the iced water, which never arrived. I can only put this down to us being placed in an annexe away from the main restaurant, as we had our dog with us. It was a bit of a shame that the service was polite but poor, because our main was really tasty. A restaurant perhaps resting on its laurels because of the demand for tables at peak season.

Sunday lunch was absolutely first class. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked (no microwave here) and delicious. This is a fine example of how a traditional roast beef lunch should be. Well done

We've had a Wonderful and warm welcome when we had dinner there. The food was very original, tasty and perfectly cooked. I even went back 2 days after my first visit just to get a side of there to die for side of stemmed brocoli. I was welcomed with the same grace and warmth by a very charming and pleasant lady who invited us to sit down while waiting. That's that kind of sincere welcome that make you realise how special this place is.

This is a great dining spot in the heart of St Ives. An incredibly welcoming experience in a beautifully decorated restaurant… you have the option of seating in the restaurant or on the terrace which is great! The staff were very polite and the service was quick. This for me was an incredibly relaxing experience and the food was super tasty. I would recommend the beef rigatoni and the incredibly creamy buratta (one of the best I’ve ever had). Only thing I will say is the portion size was huge! But is that something really to complain about? I would definitely return here <3

Recommend to us from a friend. We we all blown away with the amount of flavour in the food here - I had the Prawn Risotto and my Wife had the Chowder. Our daughters had the mussels and truffle fries and we all very much enjoyed it. When we come back to St Ives we will be coming back here. Great food, service and nice venue.

New favourite restaurant in St Ives. We come every year and haven’t visited the loft before but are so glad we did! The food on offer is all really cosy and rich in flavour. For starter I had the muscles which were delicious and cooked in a lovely chorizo and tomato sauce - such an amazing change from the usual white wine. I had the Hake which was absolutely delicious and came with the most amazing curry sauce I’ve ever had. The rest of my party had the beef cheek and the lamb rigatoni which were both slow cooked and the meat was falling to pieces they said they were delicious too! The service was good but could have been slightly better if the staff were more attentive- they seemed very rushed and busy. We will definitely visit again.

The service is fantastic! The staff are so friendly and a pleasure to be around. But the food... I don't think I've ever eaten something so perfectly cooked! It was perfect in every way possible! - Chunky chips were crispy and fluffy, bacon and sausages were succulent and juicy. I cannot rate this place high enough! ∞/10. Absolutely divine!

The most amazing breakfast we have ever had! The service was great and the food came out quickly too. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We had a double English, the smoker and an eggs Benedict and all were divine. Added benefit is that dogs are allowed in, and they have a doggy menu. Thank you.

Our second visit this week. And even better than the first. The service was superb again, it’s a nice place, brilliant location. She had Avo and Eggs again - loved it. I had Welsh Rarebit. Wow. It was simply amazing. The best Welsh Rarebit I have ever had. The little fella had some toast. Brilliant cafe. On our previous visit I had a Croque Madam, and it was delicious.

Popped in to the cafe this morning for breakfast. Lovely staff and interior is funky. Had the double full English which was superb, the waffle stack one had looked amazing and the poached eggs and avocado also looked really good. The pot of tea was great All in all a great place to visit and would recommend it. Ignore the moaners, I doubt they've ever cracked a smile since birth.
