Ancient Corinth is a well-preserved archaeological site that offers a glimpse into the Roman city's history. The remains include temples, fountains, theaters, and ornate columns that stand as a testament to ancient Greek architectural skill. The Temple of Apollo is particularly picturesque with its fluted columns surrounded by wildflowers and mountain peaks in the background. Nearby attractions such as the Medieval Castle of Acrocorinth and Ancient Nemea offer additional historical exploration.
Corinth was a superpower not only of the ancient Greek world, but the ancient world altogether. Its origins are lost deep within the Neolithic age, alas little remains of this era as well as the ones following it (i.e. Mycenean) as it was constantly inhabited and these were covered by multiple layers of overstructures. The wealthiest city in the Greek world produced the Corinthian helmet, the iconic, practical and economically produced helmet that protected most Greek hoplites for centuries. It also designed and produced the trireme, the legendary warship that dominated the seas and won battles such as Salamis and Mykali. Its colonies were multiple, and some became renowned cities in their own right, such as Syracuse and Epidamnos (which today we know as Dyrrhahium or Durres, as renamed). Its greatest period was during the Archaic age, under the guidance of Periandros. The core of all that can be seen here was built in those times. The ascension of Athens as the premier sea power and the loss of Corinthian seafaring profits triggered the Peloponnesian war. The Corinthians were cunning enough to manipulate Sparta into fighting for their interests, masterfully leveraging Spartan pride. The bill came very much later, in 146 BC, when it was mercilessly sacked by the Romans, who a full century later financed its reconstruction. The city enjoyed a second extensive period of prosperity that was disrupted by barbarian raids in the late 3rd and late 4th century AD. Walk around and get a taste of these. It's easy to visit. Refreshments and food can be found right outside the gates.

The museum and the archaeological site of Corinth are definitely worth visiting! I recommend bringing water, a hat, and comfortable shoes, especially on hot days. The only downside is that it’s a bit tricky to get there: you either need a car or have to take a taxi (from Corinth town we paid €12 to reach Ancient Corinth and the archaeological site). That said, it’s absolutely worth it. On our way back to Athens, our taxi driver stopped at the Isthmus of Corinth(20€): we got to see the canal, take some photos, and there’s also a ticket office and a bus stop for the return to Athens.

Easy to get to off the main highway. Normally open 8am to 8 pm. Closes at 6:30 in October. Costs to enter. They do not give you a map so you will need to read the signs to understand what you are viewing. The museum was nice and flowed well. It is easy for adults and small children to navigate.

Wandering through Ancient Corinth felt like stepping into a half-remembered dream. The worn columns and fragments of marble seem to whisper stories rather than display them. It’s not just a collection of ruins — the air itself feels textured with age. The small museum nearby ties everything together with quiet elegance, making the visit feel thoughtful rather than rushed.

Ancient Korinth is an incredible place to visit! We absolutely loved exploring the site — it’s full of history, stunning ruins, and breathtaking views. The atmosphere was peaceful yet powerful, and walking through such an ancient place was truly unforgettable. Highly recommend it — it’s AMAZING! 🏛️✨

So incredible to walk through what was once a thriving and bustling structure in ancient Greece. We especially were in awe of the Bema where the Apostle Paul would speak...so cool and rich in biblical history. A must see in Greece!
Bill G — Google review
So much to see and learn....signage good, but could be better. Being there, envisioning the Apostle Paul sharing the Gospel, made the Scriptures come alive. Much larger area, than I anticipated.

Nice place to visit with amazing views and great with historical richness. Entrance is 15 Euros per person. There are free admissions for certain people. Free parking lot nearby.

The Temple of Apollo, a limestone architectural site dating back to around 560 B.C.E., is situated on a commanding rocky hill in Ancient Corinth. Although only seven monolithic limestone columns remain today, the temple originally boasted six columns at the front and back, and fifteen along each side. This historically rich site offers insights into ancient Greek commerce, development, and societal attitudes. The adjacent museum features extensive collections of artifacts and informative panels detailing the city's history.
Give yourself about 2 to 3 hours or more for this visit. This is located in Corinth where Paul the Apostle worked and preached. The site is huge and the museum was nice too. The village has a lot of nice shops and resturants too. We didn't make it to the castle on top of the hill/mountain. Something for our next visit.

Kids under 17 free. Museum was great, had AC. The site was huge, lots to see. Easy parking. Do museum first then site. When done, tons of restaurants, shops are in the area. It was a great experience.

Is a 2 hour journey from Athens by train Where you disembark at Corinth where you can visit the Corinth canal before you take local taxi on to little town that is the home of the temple of Apollo and church of saint Paul beautiful place to watch perfect sunset on an evening

So glad I decided last minute to join a tour of Corinth — the second stop was this the Temple of Apollo. The ruins are fascinating, the columns still standing are amazing, and the whole atmosphere is so rich with history. But that’s not all — there’s a lot to see in the archaeological site such as Museum, the ancient theatre, Temple of Octavia, Perein fountain, and more! Really walk through layers of time. The more you wander, the more you discover — ruins, art, stories. Definitely a highlight of the trip. Don’t forget to go and try the local foods there as well!

Huge antique site with numerous artefacts and an amazing hall in the museum with artefacts dating 5300 years B.C. which is an amazing thing to find prehistoric artefacts in ancient Greece. Is a must see for history lovers.

Interesting site. Ruins of old Corinth. Take time to look around. Museum is small but has some well done displays, including ancient Hreek statues that Google won't let me post due to "sexually explicit content".🙄🫩

Museum
The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth is a small yet comprehensive museum showcasing a variety of artifacts from the area. The museum, built in the early 20th century and expanded later, features Neolithic finds, typical Corinthian pottery and ceramics, mosaic floors, and headless marble statues. Visitors are particularly impressed by the mosaics made with sea pebbles and the interactive sensor that plays ancient poetry at just the right volume.
An incredibly informative and well-curated museum! The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth brings history to life with its impressive collection of artifacts and detailed explanations. From ancient pottery to statues and mosaics, every exhibit tells a story. A must-visit for history lovers—you’ll walk away with a deeper appreciation of Corinth's rich past!

Having been to quite a few museums in Greece, it's truly spectacular that each one we go to is very different to the next and to see new things from each area of Greece. This place was a great addition to our visit. It was a great setup of the museum, very well layed out with beautiful pieces to show. The history of the Corinth was great to read from the writing on the walls.
Nick Z — Google review
The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth is a must-see, covering the city’s fascinating history from prehistoric times to the Roman era. The exhibits are beautifully presented, and the frescoes are particularly impressive — vibrant, detailed, and unforgettable. The only drawback was an unpleasant quarrel between museum guards over their working shifts, which disrupted the atmosphere. Staff should show more respect for the site and its visitors. Otherwise, an excellent and highly recommended museum.
Barbara K — Google review
Staff at ticketing and in the museum didn't appear too welcoming. Tidy and preserved placed though. Nice piece of ancient history.
Carl — Google review
Corinth was never the most powerful city in ancient Greece, but it was the wealthiest for a considerably long run. Its history is lengthy and rich as well, running deep into mythology and to the roots of historical recordings. The museum exhibits a spectacular collection that reflects the long journey of the city through the ages. Unfortunately its size cannot accommodate the immense volume of potential exhibits the excavations of this ancient land have to offer. On the other hand, this makes it easier to fit into your schedule. Enjoy!

The archaeological museum of ancient corinth is a little joy. I learnt so much in this museum. Please go through this place after you've looked at the ancient corinth site. The museum will only make sense after you've seen the site. I had a tour guide with me which brought the museum to life. There are at least 5-6 rooms with a lot of artifacts from sculptures, pots, toys, and helmets. So there is a lot of variety. There were two lovely sculptures and an esophagus but alas you are not allowed to take photos of it, it took me a great deal of strength not to take a photo 😁 If you're into archeological sites, then you should come to this place 😊

The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth is a highly regarded destination for history enthusiasts visiting the Peloponnese. Situated within the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, the museum offers a comprehensive look into the region's rich history, from prehistoric times through the Byzantine era. Extensive Collections: The museum showcases artifacts from various periods, including the Prehistoric, Classical, and Roman eras. Notable exhibits feature votive offerings from the Asklepieion, Roman statues, inscriptions, and items from the Late Roman Jewish Synagogue. Visitors appreciate the museum's informative displays, with many items accompanied by English descriptions, enhancing the understanding of Corinth's historical significance. The museum is conveniently located near the archaeological site, making it easy to explore both the indoor and outdoor exhibits. It's also close to local amenities, including parking, restaurants.

Bought online self guided tour ticket from Booking.com. Arrived few minutes (2-3mins) after 17.40. Was told we could not enter as we were too late. Also told that online booking would not be accepted and we would have to pay for tickets. Previously told (earlier same day) by lady at exit (lower down town) that the facility was open to 20.00. Very disappointed. Was looking forward to visiting Temple of Apollo. Google maps says Archaeological Museum closes at 19:00. Temple of Apollo closes at 20:00.

Nestled just an hour and a half from Athens, Acrocorinth stands as a monumental testament to Greece's rich history. This impressive medieval fortress rises 575 meters above the ancient city of Corinth, offering breathtaking views of both the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs.
Loved this place. It is a little steep, so make sure to bring some good shoes to walk. Great view of the whole valley of Corinth and the other surrounding cities!

I loved it I know its a long hike The hike up is a bit steep, but totally worth it! If you love history, mythology, and spectacular scenery, this is a must-visit when in Corinth. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water—it's a big site to explore!
Louie F — Google review
Don’t go there in the middle of the day, as the sun can be harsh and there’s little shade. Bring plenty of water, a hat, and wear good shoes since the paths can be uneven. The view of the sea is breathtaking from the top, stretching endlessly with deep blue waters meeting the horizon. There’s also convenient parking nearby, which makes access easy, though it can get busy during weekends and holidays.
Balint M — Google review
There is a breathtaking view from the top of the hill. It is worth climbing up here. There is a parking lot at the foot of the castle, from where you can walk up to the castle on a steep slope. It is really worth it. There is no entrance fee, but it is important to pay attention to the opening hours because they really do close the gate.
Péter B — Google review
No entrance fees, spent about 2.5 hrs there…travelled around 2.85km inside. Elevation around 160m from the entrance. Could have explored more but the site closes at 3.30pm…the gate closes fully at 3.30pm and there doesn’t seem to be any way out after that, so have to be aware of the time. Alarms start sounding around 3pm. Toilets are located outside, where the restaurant is. Beautiful views and ruins, worth going definitely!
Sarah S — Google review
A massive fortification overlooking the wealthiest city of ancient Greece. If you look closely, you will see phases of masonry from many historical periods, from ancient to post medieval times and all in between. Its size renders it almost impossible to see in a single visit. The entirety of the enclosure was built during the Archaic Period by the Kypselids, the tyrant (at that time the word meant ruler and had not yet acquired the negative demeanor it has today) dynasty of Corinth and especially Periandros, son of Kypselos, who was one of the seven wise men of Archaic Greece (among these were also Solon of Athens, one of the fathers of democracy, and Thales of Miletos). The remains of these walls can still be seen all along the base of the walls. The overall enclosure is huge and encompasses all of the area elevated upon the top of the rock, which offers incredible natural defenses on all sides but for a sector in the SW corner. The importance of this fortification cannot be understated. From its commanding position it controlled the entrance to the Peloponnese and the Diolkos, the equivalent of the Suez canal of sea trade in the ancient Mediterranean. Corinth had two major ports, one in the Corinthian Gulf and one in the Saronic Gulf. Ships would dock in one of the two, unload their cargo to be transported to the other dock by land, while the empty vessel would be rolled on the paved road to also end up at the port on the opposite side. This saved seafarers the trip around the Peloponnese, which meant saving time and money, as well as providing much more safety from menacing weather and pirates that constantly endangered ancient seamen. Corinth was greatly enriched by providing this service, as well as by other activities, such as lodging and entertainment for the sailors while the land transport took place. These all lasted all the way through the Archaic, the Classical and the Hellenistic periods, all in all about half a millenia. A major interruption was the time following the Roman punitive sack of Corinth in 146 BC. During the centuries of the Pax Romana the fortress, far from the borders and under Roman protection, was no longer required to be upkept at peak condition. Nevertheless, its sturdy construction upon the naturally fortified rock still stood strong enough to repel the barbarian raids of the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. It seems that the first emperor to really conduct extensive rebuilding on the site was Justinian. The Eastern Roman (Byzantine) empire kept the site in more-or-less excellent condition throughout its lengthy historical journey, and it served as a major army base for most of this time. A Norman raid in 1170 caught the garrison unprepared and thus the site was sacked. In the early 13th century the raiding "crusaders" of the 4th crusade failed to take it by force, and opted to build a castle and additional defensive works in order to compel the garrison to eventually surrender, after about five years of holding out. The Franks made some additions (mainly the keep and the small enclosure surrounding it), and later the Venetians also modified the upper parts of the walls in order to adapt them to the age of gunpowder. So what we see today is a Byzantine rebuild directly upon the Archaic core, topped by Venetian finishes with some Frankish additions.
George S — Google review
This is a huge area with medieval constructions. We didn't get the time to go everywhere, but enjoyed what we did. In addition to the construction, you get wonderful sights over the seas on both sides and the neighbour cities. And it's free. The only downside is that it closes as early as 3.30pm. You should wear good shoes and be ready to walk a lot.

Aigli Ancient Corinth offers generous and delicious servings, with kebab platters and souvlaki being popular choices. While the pork can occasionally be slightly dry, the overall dining experience is enjoyable in a relaxed atmosphere with scenic views of sunsets. The service provided is friendly and lively. Complementing the meals perfectly, white wine is always available. The diverse menu includes roasted veggies, vegetarian dolmades, Greek meatballs, and unique fries made from different types of potatoes that must be tried.
Paul was very nice and welcoming. He explained us what all the dishes are, including the Sunday's specials. The food was the best we had in our trip at Greece. Fresh, high quality materials, and made with a lot of love. We came back again the next day. Paul stayed to chat with us after the meal, he is a great host and person :)

The Moussaka tasted ok, not great, similar to the prepackaged ones you can get at the supermarket. The grilled squid was really not nice. It arrived after 5 minutes, which means it was probably preboiled and then grilled briefly. It did not taste good and was very rubbery. They also didn't have any of the dishes we wanted to order, they were all out. The food also just looked kind of bad. Definitely not worth the money, too bad. I don't know if it was a one time thing, but I can't make sense of all the positive reviews.

Taverna Gemelos is a charming establishment to dine at. The culinary offerings were satisfactory, although they failed to deliver an extraordinary experience. While the rest of the family thoroughly enjoyed their meals, there was a misunderstanding resulting in one person being left without food for thirty additional minutes. Furthermore, the three starters were not served together but rather spaced out over time. Nevertheless, it remains a delightful spot for lunch with pleasant service and an inviting atmosphere.
After spending a full day at the museum and ruins we stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner. I had the best pork Gyros I have ever had in my life! The meat was so tender and delicious! Big tomatoes and tasty Tzatziki!

This is the best food I have ever eaten in Greece. The view overlooks Ancient Corinth, so beautiful at dusk! and the sevice was wonderful. Stuffed grapes leaves are so good, I could eat the whole plate myself! The mousakka was the best mousakka I ever ate. So good we are thinking of eating there two nights in a row, even though we know we should try someplace else! And we drive there! Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars. Not fancy, just great Greek food!

This is a lovely restaurant, in a lovely location, with absolutely stunning views - during the afternoon and the moonlight. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent. They have a nice selection of Greek food to try on their menu. Unfortunately, our food was quite basic and overcooked. And I only took stars off of my review based on the food. The presentation of the food was nice though and the portion sizes quite large.

Food was good. Service was unkind and unprepared. Had to ask for olive oil, vinegar and ketchup which took along time to Bri g to our table. Atmosphere on the rear roof top overseeing the Bema seat was amazing. Appreciated that they accepted US dollars which was an easier way for us to pay.

Nice slides , and reasonable prices. However, went on a Sunday and the place was packed. There was a shortage of inflatables and queues in most slides. Also the pool was so busy and the water looked dirty. On a positive note, snacks and drinks were reasonably priced and the toilets were clean.

The place is nice, nothing special but very correct. In the area of Corinth, Lutraki and Athens definetly the best one. Not to many things to do for adults and big kids and ticket price is not so small, for 4 members family, 1 child 6 years old, 2 child 11 years old + 2 adults it was 61 Eur

Nice place to have fun, and your kids. You can enjoy a nice coffee (utopia) you can grab a bite. In the weekends is very crowded. Better go before 11.00 to find sunbeds in the shadows. You can also eat souvlaki. The pools are watched by many many lifeguards. Toilets clean. Entrance 16 euros but if you are 4 persons you can get a discount maybe (12 euro / person). Friendly staff. Nice getaway near Athens.

The Corinth Canal, a stunning feat of engineering completed in 1893, separates the Peloponnese from mainland Greece. The canal offers breathtaking views of its sheer rock walls and blue waters, best enjoyed from a sturdy footbridge or on a tour boat. For the adventurous, bungee jumping provides an entirely different perspective. Nearby attractions include the Gulf of Corinth and traditional Greek villages offering local food and wine experiences.
Had an amazing boat ride through the Corinth canal both ways. Only €22 each on Anna 11 cruises. Lasted about an hour or so and went from the quay on the Athens side of the canal. It's incredible how it was dug and dynamited out of the rocks. Very steep sides in places with road and rail bridges spanning it. Well worth doing.

The Corinth Canal is a truly spectacular sight, and it's much more than just a waterway. Standing on the bridge, you get a powerful sense of the history and the immense engineering effort it took to carve this narrow, deep channel through solid rock. The sheer cliffs on either side are breathtaking, and watching a ship navigate this incredibly tight passage is a unique and thrilling experience. It's a must-do for anyone traveling through Greece, offering both a stunning natural view and a fascinating glimpse into human ingenuity.

Nice place to stop by! Such a deep and narrow cuts which separates the Peloponnese peninsula from the Greek mainland. With a nice history behind ofcourse. Only the view from the bridge is stunning. I wanted to try bungee jumping here but it was closed 😩 Still, totally worth the visit!
D N — Google review
An amazing human construction. It is still incomprehensible to me how they were able to build this at the end of the 19th century with the technical capabilities of the time, based on the plans of Hungarian architect István Türr. It is worth walking across the bridge. And if you are lucky, you might even catch someone bungee jumping from a height of 60 meters. One criticism is that the site is not adequately signposted with information.
Péter B — Google review
We visited the Corinth Canal and were absolutely amazed by its breathtaking views — it’s a must-see both for its visual impact and historical significance. Standing on the bridge and looking down into the narrow, deep waterway is truly unforgettable. There are several nearby restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy a meal or a drink at relatively reasonable prices. It’s a great spot to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and soak in the atmosphere. For thrill-seekers, there’s also the opportunity to go bungee jumping right over the canal. At around €100 per person, it’s definitely on the pricier side, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that adds a real adrenaline rush to your visit. Parking was easy and the area felt tourist-friendly. I’d highly recommend stopping here if you’re passing through the region — even a short visit is worth it!

Absolutely amazing! Stunning views. We stopped here while travelling through Greece. There was plenty of parking and also many restraunts, shops, cafés and beaches nearby. Would definitely recommend going to see and experience for yourself.

You can't imagine how much I love Corinth canal, it looks unreal. I was many times here and always is amazing. I can stand on the bridge all day long. Don't miss this beauty.

It it really is one of the most beautiful sights in Greece not far away from Athens 1 hour drive. Truly mesmerizing and if you are up for the bungee jumping experience that's another plus

The Pegasus Statue stands proudly in the heart of Corinth, symbolizing the city's rich history and heritage. This magnificent figure represents not only a mythical creature born from Poseidon and Medusa but also serves as an emblem for the municipality itself. The statue is located in a vibrant square near the port, where visitors can soak up a laid-back atmosphere filled with cafes and restaurants.
Definitely a sight worth seeing, and the neighborhood around it has a very chill vibe. There are lots of cafes and spots to relax, giving it a laid-back feel. Unfortunately, during my visit, nearly everything was closed, so I couldn't fully enjoy the atmosphere as I had hoped. However, the area still felt pleasant, and I can imagine it being much livelier during peak times. If you're around, it's worth stopping by to admire the statue and take in the peaceful surroundings!

I don't know what's inside as it wasn't open in the past 2 years. On the outside a renovation is going on supposedly, but the building is already vandalized with graffiti. On top of this a lot of gypsies are camping around it constantly leaving disgusting trash behind them. I hope one day I can change my rating.

(Translated by Google) The Historical - Folklore Museum of Corinth, Vasos Petropoulos - Univ. Gartagani, was founded with the aim of finding, preserving and displaying folklore material as well as disseminating relevant knowledge and information to the general public in every way. Chronologically arranged from the early 19th century to the mid-20th century, its rich collections include women's and men's costumes from many regions of Greece, embroideries, textiles, silversmithing, metalwork and woodcarving as well as agricultural tools and household utensils. The three-story building is located in a central part of the city of Corinth, surrounded by a square, in which a bust of its founder has been erected. On the ground floor, the rural life of the Corinthian region is presented with rich material from tools for the main crops, samples of houses, household utensils and small objects. On the mezzanine floor, a set of 19th century urban furniture is exhibited as well as a library with books from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. This material comes from a donation from the family of the writer Asteris Kovvatzis. On the 1st and 2nd floors of the Museum, women's and men's costumes, festive and everyday, individual sections of clothing, jewelry, embroidery are presented. The 3rd floor is reserved for Educational Programs and periodical exhibitions. The Educational Programs operate daily for the entire school year and annually serve approximately 4,000 students and teachers, as well as adults, people with special needs. They aim at the creative and pleasant contact of the public with popular culture and the cultivation of the mood for personal contribution and participation in the preservation of cultural heritage. As for periodic exhibitions, these are held at least once a year with a different theme, historical or folklore, which exhibitions are usually accompanied by printed material and the corresponding Educational Programs. The dining experience at Number One was delightful, with enjoyable meals for both lunch and dinner. The menu offered a diverse range of options, including chicken meatballs, nuggets, veg and chicken burgers, as well as veg cheese pasta and more. The restaurant proved to be a pleasant place to dine, providing tasty food with an extensive selection. The service was commendable, with helpful staff always available.
Number One offers a casual menu of Greek salads, wraps, and grilled items in a modern atmosphere and made for a great lunch spot close to the waterfront of Corinth. We started with the Horiatiki (Greek salad), a fresh mixture of cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, and olives, topped with feta cheese, oregano, and olive oil; and the Cretan Salad, made with crumbled Cretan rusks topped with chopped tomatoes, olives, onions, pickled peppers, capers, crumbled feta cheese, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The dry rusks were moistened by the tomatoes, which were nicely flavored by the salty and acidic feta and pickled ingredients. For our main, we had the Mixed Grill Platter, which came with chopped pieces of grilled chicken, pork, sausage, and beef kebab, all served over fries and pita bread, along with sliced tomatoes, onions, and creamy tzatziki on the side. Overall, the food here was fresh and tasty and came at a good value too!

Just had the best kebab souvlaki, ever! I just hope it was cooked enough. I ordered a chicken and a kebab (gyro meat for Americans) souvlaki. It’s shocking how good they were, given this is basically a bus station restaurant. The bus station is across the street, but you know what I mean. I waited a few minutes and BAM! So fresh and tasty. If you’re deciding between chicken and kebab, go for KEBAB! Wayyyy tastier!

The cafe is a great place to park up get a coffee and then walk on the bridge. The rating reflects the scam not the cafe (the cafe would have got 4 stars) HOWEVER. Beware scammers. As we returned to our hire car we were met by a man with a hand full off windscreen wipers. He showed us the damaged blades on ours and then insisted to replace them for free?? Him and his accomplice had obviously removed ours whilst we were viewing the Corinth canal. He replaced them and then demanded 10 euros each. At which point I gave him just 10 euro and locked the door and drove off. Basically I paid 10 euro to get my own blades back and get away safely. No doubt the hire car company would have charged me a lot more had I left the damaged ones which they had swapped onto my car. Couldn't believe this could happen in broad daylight in front of a busy row of shops with people sitting outside. We used this car park after reading the bad reviews of the car park across the road.

The name Three Hierarchs refers to three saints and theologians of the Orthodox Christian Religion, patrons of letters and students, John the Chrysostom, Basil the Great and Gregory the Nazianzus or Theologian. Fathers of the Church and Saints emerged. Their wisdom and action gave them the title of the Greatest Lights, as is chanted in their motto: The Three Greatest Lights of the Trisiliou Godhead. Our church honors them on the thirtieth of January, with special splendor. January 30 is not a simple holiday, but a day of celebration of education and letters.

Kalamia Beach

4.6
(1187)
Kalamia Beach is a popular destination in Corinth, Greece, offering a large sandy beach and refreshing waters of the Gulf of Corinth. It's a great spot for sunbathing and swimming, with various cafes and restaurants nearby. The beach is known for its calming atmosphere and beautiful pebbly shoreline with shades of light blue water. While it can get busy during the summer months, it's highly recommended for both solo travelers and families.
Point of view... if you're in Corinth, you will visit this point of the city, great walk for locals and visitors, the sunset point of the city! Eat or drink on the beach, everything well organized.
Left D — Google review
This place is a peach. Clean and cultured. Not too expensive either and free sunbeds at the the bars if you drink and eat. Why was it not busy? Why is it not in the tourist lists. I will return.
Johnny L — Google review
A nice beach adjuscent to Corinth. The coastline is long and wide enough for most activities, shower is available and restaurants are nearby after the swim.
Vasileios K — Google review
Beautiful beach, the water is a bit cold in winter of course, but otherwise very nice environment with a boardwalk. Very empty.
Harry Z — Google review
The beach itself is so long. There is place for everything. Many shops to eat and drink. Really popular during summer time. To get yourself a table, you have to go early on weekends.
Ntina K — Google review
Very organized beach. Beach chairs are free as long as you order food or beverages. Pebble beach.

Restaurant
The restaurant Nu, located by the beach, offers a pleasant ambiance outdoors and a clean and contemporary atmosphere indoors. The service is professional and attentive to the customer's needs. The food provided is superb, with great attention to detail. It is definitely worth revisiting this establishment. The restaurant offers original and delicious dishes such as risotto and pumpkin pasta, along with delectable desserts. The waitstaff is friendly and welcoming, while the beach view adds to the overall experience.
Cocktail are on TOP, Food is very tasty worth every penny!! Nice decorations and environment!! Definitely My favourite in Corinth !!
Kaouther R — Google review
The service is the worst I ever had in Greece. The items listed in the menu seem to be a nice wish rather than reality. The waiters were incapable of delivering anything ordered without a problem. Including soda. They were rude and hostile as if their incompetence was the luck I fully deserved😁 I tried to laugh it out but it was impossible to deal with all the little frustrationas that kept piling up. My advise would be don't go anywhere near this one if you want to have a nice time.
Nadya Y — Google review
Absolutely garbage. Even the fries were old and cold. All our food came out at different times. If you come here and plan on eating together think again. Worst experience in Greece. DO NOT EAT HERE
Billy K — Google review
Table outside next to the beach- nice atmosphere, indoors it looks clean and modern. the service was good and professional with focus for the costumer.the food was excellent with focus for detail. It is definitely not the last time I visit the place.
Christos V — Google review
Have been there more than 10 times because of the quality of service (waiters and waitresses are super polite) and the cocktails. But... ... management is a bunch of pretentious aholes. Apparently you are allowed to change a diaper on the beach bed (when I complained about it I was told that "I am not going to tell a mom what to do with her child") instead of using the bathroom facilities for diaper change. Completely disrespectful for the next customer that is going to sit on that beach bed. Yet in the same place I was told that we are disallowed from playing (my own) tabletop games (tavli) probably because of the noise that dice make. Are phones allowed? Maybe we need to text each other instead of talking? Go f yourselfs.
Michael G — Google review
Great cafe / restaurant / bar. Good service and music by the sea. Nicely decorated, slightly overpriced - comes with the offered quality.
George P — Google review
Beautiful view to the sea. Unfortunately the food was too salty to my taste. Also they charged us a cover charge of 1€ per person, which I found very odd.
K H — Google review
Decent sushi and drinks. If not for our terrible service experience, it would had ranked much higher. People who came after us would order before us and were being served first, then same happened when we requested the bill. Others had already paid and the waiter was cleaning random tables while we were still waiting for the bill.

Loved it so much we came back again. Passed through on our road trip from Athens to Nafplio - the best gyros we've had in Greece. The place has always an atmosphere, with families, friends and couples constantly stopping by to eat. The owner is so friendly and happy to help. The best value Greek food we've had. Definitely add it to your road trip.
Harriet C — Google review
This was one of the best souvlakis I’ve ever had! Everything tasted super fresh and delicious. I tried their Pita Aivaliotis and the Greek salad — both were amazing. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for great food and quality ingredients!
Jovan M — Google review
Stopped by at ELENIS today to get some lunch. It’s kinda your typical Greek fast food place, so don’t expect too much. The service was really nice though. I got a chicken pita which was pretty good — you can say that all the ingredients were really fresh (I especially enjoyed the delicious pita bread, yum!). You can also order plenty of different soft drinks, beers, and even some wine. So if you’re looking to try some cheap authentic Greek dishes, ELENIS can be your pick.
Olika K — Google review
Very good food Bad service Today (Aug 13) went to order Waited in line for 10 mins while staff replied to phone orders and keep ignoring me. Waited in a "queue" of sorts, when my time had come, I asked if I can order, the lady behind the counter replied "yes" and went back replying to phone calls and serving people behind me in the queue (who have come to receive their orders) Another five minutes passed where again was totally ignored - and at that time decided to leave empty handed. Shame, because food is actually good and the place is nice
Alexandros T — Google review
The chicken souvlakia was really delicious. All the staff were very attentive and kind. It’s easily accessible from the main road without needing to make a big detour. We chose it both at the beginning and the end of our vacation, and it was the best gyros we had."

perfect for a quick lunch. we stopped on the way from Athens to Kalamata. the food was great and Vasily (the waiter) was amazing! we had plenty of food and the bill was less then 20€. I couldn't believe it! best souvlaki! Recommended!
Domenic B — Google review
Came by this place as I was looking for food to take away. for home. It wasn't bad, I'm not a fan of cubed meats...either pass the meat by hand on the skewer or have someone do it for you. This squished chicken cube or pork cube meat on a stick yells out over processed..I know it's not but it looks unappealing. Taste was ok. I've had better here in Corinth, no doubt...fries were EXTREMELY OVER SALTY..been drinking water all night. Good tzatziki, good breads, good service, very good prices...Just wish the meat sticks weren't pressed like that...

Takeout Restaurant
I visited Ταβέρνα Αρχοντικό - Arhontiko restaurant upon the recommendation of a guide. The establishment was impeccably clean and had a cozy atmosphere. The waiter was supportive and the food was satisfactory, although the chicken dish lacked complexity. As a French person, I didn't particularly enjoy the red wine served from the refrigerator. Nevertheless, overall I had an enjoyable time in a peaceful setting.
A very pleasant place, delicious dishes and a warm atmosphere! We had a great time!

We went there on the advice of our guide. The place is really clean and cosy. The waiter was helpful and the food was good. Not the best chicken I’ve eaten because it was quite simple. As a French I could not say that I really enjoyed the red wine from the fridge. But globally we had great time in a quiet place . Thank you !

Have been there couple of times. Nice atmosphere, really nice food, good service, my wife and I enjoy every time. The last time I eat there I thought that the wine sauce had no base and my red wine was served in a white wine class therefore the missing star. We will visit the place again next time we are in town.

For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Environment Museum of Stymphalia. Specialty Museums
The Environment Museum of Stymphalia, managed by the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, is an essential part of the lake area. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of nature and humanity, promoting ecological awareness and preserving traditional technologies developed around the lake over centuries. As a bird reserve and breeding ground for migratory species, Stymphalia's unique significance is highlighted. The museum itself is a modern and thematic space that delves into the geological history of the region, showcasing artifacts related to local trades.
Third visit. Always quiet here. Make sure to look in the shop for nice books or something else!
Lo D — Google review
A nice small museum which has been built for 3 mio € given by the EU and Piraeus Bank in 2008. The museum explains how the Stymphalian Lake was geologically created, how it became the source of living for the people living there and many animals, and what has to be done to keep this natural treasure for the generations to come. I especially liked the aquarium and the telescopes on the veranda to observe the lake and its birds.
Thomas — Google review
Interesting museum documenting the history of the place, geology and farming practices. I really enjoyed the lake exhibit. The museum is an interesting building architecturally which is set in a great place next to the lake. Lots of parking, a good WC and a small shop selling coffee.
Andrew P — Google review
They make the most of what they have, which is basically almost nothing. Some of the interactive stuff is good, most didn't work. Looks like a typical Greek excuse for finding from the EU and money from school excursions job. Better than nothing if you know nothing and don't prefer to go out and walk instead of paying 4 euro. (Kids, elderlies and unemployed don't pay.)
Alexander C — Google review
Truly beautiful! It is always obvious when something has been created with a lot of effort. This museum is literally it. I can’t understand the negative reviews, I suspect that those commentators haven’t been to many museums around to compare with the average level of museums in Greece. Apart from the nice views to the Stymfalia lake, I think I haven’t seen such neat work before in a country museum. The exhibits were fascinating to observe. The audiovisual aids were very interesting and enlightening. The only disadvantage was the functionality of the binoculars, they should be replaced for sure. Overall though, a 10/10 experience.
Ladyginger — Google review
Excellent organized small museum with theme from local environment. A great balcony with panoramic lake view. In autumn the lake is dry, so museum is a great choice for paying a visit and spend some time. A small cafe and museum shop is also available.
Marios X — Google review
A definite must-see next time you're in the area! This museum offers a unique layout that I included a massive fish tank and displays of the area's agricultural, historical and environmental significance of the area. My kids loved the fish tank, massive outdoor deck overlooking the lake and gift shop. Will definitely return!
Maria V — Google review
Pretty nice small modern museum with interesting and educational tour regarding the history of the lake and the area. It has balcons with beautiful panoramic view of the lake, good for bird watching. The entrance is not an expensive one.

Corinth, an ancient city of Greece, was in many ways the most prominent Greek metropolis of Paul's time Corinth was intellectually arrogant, materially affluent and morally corrupt. The church was made up of some Jews but mostly of ex-pagan Gentiles. After Paul left Corinth, a variety of problems arose in the Young church. Paul wrote a letter in A.D 55/56 addressing problems and solutions, Paul in this letter gives clear and enduring spiritual principles, each of which is applicable universally.

It is modern, full of paintings, with three altars. In the center, dedicated to Saint Paul and at each side, to Tito and Timoteo. Opened from 7 to 13 and from 16.30 to sunset.

Restaurant
Half Note is a remarkable urban sanctuary situated in Corinth, boasting an exquisite Austrian/Greek ambiance and two captivating gardens. The interior design is meticulously crafted, creating a relaxed atmosphere that truly sets it apart. The restaurant offers skillfully crafted Mediterranean dishes that are expertly prepared, while the music bar provides a casual setting to unwind and enjoy live performances. This delightful establishment comes highly recommended for its superb flavor profiles, elegant decor, and exceptional service.
Very finely set interior design with an Austrian/Greek laid-back setting and two fantastic gardens makes Half Note a true oasis in the inner city of Corinth. Well prepared Mediterranean cuisine and a relaxed music bar. I will recommend Half Note to all I know.

(Translated by Google) From the old and well-known shops in the city center that some years ago were in their glory. Warm and beautiful environment inside, especially the garden at the back of the shop. But that is not enough. It needs renewal and new staff to attract people.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful surroundings, especially the inner courtyard with the plants. The staff polite and friendly. (Original) Πολύ όμορφο περιβάλλον, ιδιαίτερα η εσωτερική αυλή με τα φυτά. Το προσωπικό ευγενικό και φιλικό.

(Translated by Google) Relaxation and positive energy. This is what the space and atmosphere of the shop offers me. Every part of the shop, courtyard, inside and the tables in front are equally nice. The service very good. It has a variety of beverages. The main thing for me is that when I'm at Half Note I have a good time. Not only the company plays a role, but also the vibes of the store.

Great Souvlaki, Kebab and Gyros! We have visited Corinth twice now and been to see the guys here multiple times. Grab a beer and have a chat while they prepare your food🍻
Chris M — Google review
Souvlaki was decent, only because portions were small. Especially their chicken and pork kebabs. Overall, the price to quality was not impressive, but staff spoke english, so it was easy to order. Seating was available inside. For several small families, or large groups. Food delivery available.
Gary P — Google review
One of the best pita gyros in Greece so far. The service was fast and precise, the food was very tasty and autentic and the price was right. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and small place for some souflaki. Nice service and very good price. The kebap is very delicious through the difference of the ingredients and the souvlaki are amazing with the piece of bred you get
