Adzhimushkayskiye Kamenolomni is a significant memorial and underground museum dedicated to honoring the defense of the Adzhimushkai Quarries during World War II. It's a place that evokes strong emotions due to its historical and patriotic significance. The site pays tribute to the perseverance and heroism of the Soviet soldiers who defended it. Visitors are advised to dress warmly as it can be cold underground, even in summer.
Very impressive.

(Translated by Google) The place is a must visit for adults and children. The guide Elena told the story in such a way that tears came out. A terrible story about people locked by the Nazis in former quarries. Those who did not give up in these terrible conditions. For modern people this is not.... There are no words. Eternal memory to the heroes.

(Translated by Google) I recommend it to everyone. A very interesting excursion, take warm clothes with you, it's cold there, in my opinion the guide Elena led the excursion, she told so interestingly, such facts from history that your hair stood on end, you will visit the quarries where 12,000 people resisted the fascists, 226 people survived, inside there are mass graves for 3,000 soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom. Eternal memory.

(Translated by Google) A very difficult place from a moral point of view, but interesting from a historical and patriotic point of view. Pride in the Soviet soldier, and surprise at what a person is ready to do to save the Motherland. The "spirit" of perseverance and heroism is present in every quarry. Excursion for five points. The guides conduct the program very interestingly and with soul. Please note that underground, even in summer, it is cold, take warm clothes. Visiting underground is practically without light.

(Translated by Google) I have long been planning to visit here. A landmark place for understanding the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The particularly impressionable should think before going down into the quarries. The guide says that some visitors see phantoms of the dead and those killed here. We were impressed for several days. Before visiting, you need to take warm clothes with you - a jacket or sweater, if you go there in the summer, the temperature below is about 10 degrees. The tour is about an hour. The guide will tell in detail about the feat of soldiers and civilians in defending this place.

Nestled just outside the historic city of Kerch, Tsarskiy Kurgan stands as a remarkable archaeological complex that captivates visitors with its ancient burial mounds and stone chambers. Dating back to the 4th century BC, this impressive megalithic site is linked to the ancient Greek city of Panticapaeum, established by settlers from Miletus.
A most impressive megalithic site, situated just outside of Kerch, which I am glad to have been able to visit. Although said to have been used as burial site (and it may well have been at some point in time), the architecture reminds of the apparently (to a certain degree) earthquake proof Sardinian nuraghi and the way wells/springs were arched over with megalithic structures there in the ancient past - and thus protected from who knows what may once have been falling from the skies. Just think of the Greek myth of Phaeton or of what Aegypt's Ramses III had inscribed on the walls of his temple at Medinet Habu about the then recent destruction of most of the Mediterranean, including ancient Aegypt, by earthquakes as well as fires and stones falling from the skies. Even though the historical views on display in the small adjacent museum building give some hints, it is hard to make out to what extent the site may have been disturbed during its excavation, and how close to its original shape it is today. Unfortunately, all texts in the museum are in Russian only.
Upāsaka G — Google review
The Kurgan Real, also known as the Royal Mound, is a majestic burial mound located just outside Kerch in Crimea. Dating back to the 4th century BC, it is considered one of the most impressive megalithic sites in the region. Associated with the ancient Greek city of Panticapaeum, founded by settlers from Miletus, the site is believed to have served as the tomb of a ruler of the Bosphorus Kingdom, likely Leukon of Bosphorus (389-349 BC). Excavations conducted between 1833 and 1837 revealed remains of a wooden sarcophagus and carved Christian symbols, indicating that the site had been looted and later reused by early Christians. The mound rises to a height of nearly 20 meters with a perimeter of 250 meters. Inside, it features a square burial chamber transitioning into a dome 8.84 meters high and a corridor (dromos) measuring 2.80 meters wide and 37 meters long. These structures were constructed using limestone blocks. The architecture of the Kurgan Real bears resemblance to earthquake-resistant structures such as Sardinian nuraghi and ancient megalithic constructions designed to protect wells and springs. This has led some to speculate about its potential role in safeguarding against natural disasters, drawing comparisons to Greek myths like that of Phaeton and historical accounts such as Ramses III's inscriptions at Medinet Habu describing destruction caused by earthquakes and falling debris. Now, the mound itself is empty, but the stonework of its walls and ceiling remains highly impressive. A small museum adjacent to the site provides insights into its history, though all informational texts are currently available only in Russian. The museum also displays photographs and artifacts related to the mound, dating back to its excavation. Visitors have noted the site’s resemblance to Egypt's pyramids and admired its historical significance and unique drop-shaped design. The entrance fee, as of September 2018, was 120 rubles per adult. February, in particular, is an ideal time to visit, as there are no crowds. The site is highly recommended for those interested in ancient history and architecture, making it a memorable destination for both adults and children.

(Translated by Google) The royal mound was very impressive with its historical heritage and unusual drop-shaped shape. The stonework inside and outside also does not leave anyone indifferent who visited this unique historical place. I highly recommend visiting this attraction. The entrance fee for an adult is only 120 rubles. (as of September 2018) Don’t forget to look to the left of the entrance to the territory, in the snow-white house-museum, there are many photographs and exhibits related to the Tsar’s Mound from the day of its foundation. Another thing that is very convenient for tourists is that there is another attraction nearby - the Adzhimushkai quarries, but this will be discussed in another review.

(Translated by Google) “Tsarsky” is the same as “Tsar-cannon-bell”. Of course, there was no “king” there. And this is not a mound at all. Even the official information on the stands at the object does not say what was found inside)) but nothing was found. They called it a mound because they saw a hill and something inside and called it a unique mound, like no other. However, for example, in India there are exactly the same structures that are not at all designated as tombs. First, take a closer look at the blocks in the central part, they are all marked with grooves, clearly marks from a tool or formwork. You will find exactly the same traces on many ancient blocks around the world. Secondly, pay attention to the blocks in the pyramidal part, especially those convex "raw" parts. You will see completely parallel and one-dimensional marks from the tool, looking at which you can see only one thing - these marks were made at a time when the material was soft (liquid). Thirdly, try to even imagine how to build something like this today and maintain such precision down to the millimeter? And then imagine that this was done many centuries ago, using what? and that each block was not cast, but cut out with primitive tools.. In general, this is not a mound; this structure was not built by people who had only copper weapons of labor. The explanation of what it really is and who built it can only be guessed at. There is a theory, at least associated with similar structures in India, that this is an energy installation that receives energy (or a signal) from above (there is a hole in the round part of the structure in the ceiling of the pyramidal cone) and distributes this energy along the line of the “entrance to the mound.”

(Translated by Google) Well, that's it. The design is certainly cool, but there’s not much else to look at. Perhaps there is something else from the exhibits, but what I saw is clearly not enough to take money for it. They are not allowed on the hill itself; you cannot look around from above. It makes sense to come here, if only at the same time to look at the Adzhimushkai quarries and the accompanying exhibition of forestry and what else is there around (Original)

The Kerch Lapidarium contains Bosporus ancient Greek inscriptions made on stone, sculpture and architectural details, samples of Hebraic and Turkic tombstones. In the summer of 2020, the building is being reconstructed, the walls and supports are being strengthened, so one of the 4 halls is periodically closed. The price is only 50 rubles. You can see the entire mound in about 5 minutes, because there is nothing special there: there is a passage inside and in the center there is a burial room, where now of course there is nothing. Historians believe that this is a burial place from the 4th or 3rd century BC, where a particularly revered ruler or king was buried. But with the passage of time, the mausoleum was looted, and during excavations in the 19th century (1858), little remained. It is a cultural and historical heritage of the Republic of Crimea. The Cathedral of Prophet St. John the Baptist is a remarkable example of Byzantine architecture, dating back to the 8th century A.D. This elegant structure showcases harmonious proportions and a tasteful color palette that reflects its historical significance. While the original church was built in the 700s, later additions like the bell tower and gallery were crafted by Italian architects in the 19th century, seamlessly blending with its classic style.
Oldest church in Ukraine. Wonderful place.

(Translated by Google) Probably the most amazing find in Kerch. A temple within a temple - this is clearly visible in the photographs. There is at least a double layer of history here, the beginning was laid by the ancient Greeks back in the 8th century. Before the Baptism of Rus'. This is probably the oldest Christian temple in Russia and Ukraine. The woman who sells candles was very indignant that she was torn away from doing nothing, she screamed at me so much, not mincing words, I ran out of there as if scalded. "Thanks" to such women, you kill all desire to visit such places. I will not forget this for a long time now, the aftertaste is simply indescribable. (Translated by Google) For me it is truly a OPENING! The temple dates back to the reign of Justinian the First, a Byzantine emperor who ruled in the 6th century. Subsequent reconstruction took place during the period when Crimea belonged to the Tmutarakan principality. The modern look has been formed over several centuries. I LOVED IT! Five reasons to visit the temple: 1) This is the oldest religious building not only in Kerch, but also in the countries of the former CIS. The temple is almost one and a half thousand years old, so, having crossed the threshold of the shrine, you are immersed in the atmosphere of “hoary antiquity”. The church is active, which is important for believers. 2) Acoustic tricks. Hollow amphorae are built into the walls of the structure. In the old days, this cunning technique made it possible to enhance acoustics and convey the words of sermons to every parishioner. 3) Lapidary exhibition - a collection of ancient boulders on which historical inscriptions are carved. 4) Frescoes. Most of the frescoes were barbarically destroyed during the Crimean Khanate. But during the next reconstruction, scientists found images of two saints. The authorship of the works is attributed to the students of Theophanes the Greek, the legendary Byzantine icon painter. 5) Unique look. The church retains the stamp of antiquity. Famous architects (Byzantine, Russian and Genoese masters) had a hand in the construction and reconstruction of the temple.

(Translated by Google) A very harmonious and elegant building of the Byzantine style. The proportions and color scheme are simple and tasteful. Then they lost this sense of style; medieval churches look less proportional. The church itself dates back to the 700s, the bell tower and gallery were made by Italian architects in the 19th century, but are accurately integrated into the style. Unfortunately, there are few good spots for photography.

Galeon is a charming restaurant located along the picturesque waterfront, making it one of the few spots where you can truly unwind amidst a sea of casual beer and snack joints. While some diners have noted that certain meat dishes, particularly pork, could use improvement in tenderness and preparation methods like shish kebab being simply heated over coals, others rave about the delightful Caesar salad that’s prepared with care and seasoned just right.

(Translated by Google) Surprised by some of the negative reviews. We visited this establishment twice, both times we were pleased with the food and service. We were in Kerch at the end of August, we wanted to have lunch, and we accidentally wandered into this establishment on the embankment. We chose a table under the canopy. Honestly, we were pleasantly surprised by the way the dishes were served. It’s not so often that you see dishes, even in expensive foreign restaurants, being served with imagination. I don't advertise this restaurant, but the food was really delicious. I love seafood, here both in the mix and separately cooked they were cooked to the level. Tender, moderately spiced, the sauce is silky and has a normal consistency. The kids liked the soups and the salads were delicious. It was lunch, but at our request they prepared pearlmen for us for the youngest, and he devoured it all. I had comments on the interior and exterior, invited the manager, and expressed his comments. It would be a good idea for the owners to listen to them.

(Translated by Google) The trainee waiter was just super. He quickly took the order, quickly brought it, quickly removed the dishes, constantly asked if everything was ok, the girl waiter watched him unobtrusively)) I would like to add paper and pencils to the children's room. very nice place. From the children's we ordered mashed potatoes with chicken in sauce, mashed potatoes without lumps, this is rare, unfortunately, here it was very tasty. The child ate everything, this is an indicator☺️ thanks to the staff for everything (Original)

(Translated by Google) A very pleasant place for a family vacation. You can watch the children in the playroom on a monitor from the dining room. The food is excellent! And the fish selection is perfect for Kerch residents. The staff is attentive to the guests. We had a wonderful time!
