Probably the best shopping area in the Netherlands. The location is in a picturesque area, 20 min bus ride from the main train station. Especially recommended to explore branded shopping stores during Sale seasons like Black Friday. Lot of eating options with a centrally located food court having multiple cuisine options. Come with purses full to leave with handful of desired goods!

I recently visited Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet, and it was a fantastic experience! This place is a shopper's paradise with a wide variety of factory outlets offering great deals and discounts. Whether you're looking for high-end brands or more affordable options, there's something for everyone.
The layout of the outlet is well-designed, making it easy to navigate through the different stores. I was particularly impressed with the range of brands available, from fashion and accessories to home goods and more. The staff in each store were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience.
One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible offers. Many stores had significant discounts, and I found some amazing deals that were too good to pass up. It's definitely worth visiting if you're looking to update your wardrobe or find some unique items at a fraction of the regular price.

On Sundays are also open till 20:00 which is great! Toilets are clean considering that the place welcome many people. There are also different spots where kids can play while parents are shopping and not get bored.
The outlet offers many restaurants/cafes.
From time to time they have themes like this time is Mickey Mouse which fun.
Very well-organized shopping center. It really has almost everything you need. A visit is definitely worth it.
Nice place for an ‘uitje’ or in other words, outing. The parking here costs about EUR 5 for the day. The prices at this outlet are pretty decent. If you’re lucky, you might get crazy discounts.

A great museum full of Dutch maritime history! The replica of the Batavia ship is impressive, and the interactive exhibits make it fun for kids. Very child-friendly with hands-on activities and a playful audio tour. Perfect for a family day out!

Worthy visit.
An interesting perspective on how the VOC travelled and traded in 1700's, and more so what conditions "settler" faced en-route to new frontiers.
What a fantastic place!
The infamous mutiny brought me here but the focus is actually on shipbuilding, as close to how it was done as possible. The shipyard is well laid out with access and full view on people working their craft on model ships, wood carving, sail making, hull making... You can ask question and see the work actually being done, this is just beyond fascinating.
The Batavia is bare to the bones, there's hardly any exhibits but that's actually a good thing. You really get a special experience walking down the decks, hearing the wood creaking and ducking to walk the length of the orlop deck (if I don't mistake the term!). It beggars belief how people would have fared, 300+ on these kind of ships in the middle of the seas.
The museum next to the shipyard/ship was less interesting to me as it focuses more on the local history and a lot of info is in Dutch which I don't speak (shame on me!). The 60m tapestry is staggering though.
Overall it's well worth a visit and I hope I'll get the chance to visit again at some point.
Very interesting place for people interested in maritime expeditions. Lots of history and historical artifacts related to navigation. There also big space for kids to walk around,

Really nice museum, you can see and visit old boats! And there's a delicious Lindt store with chocolates close the museum.
About museum, it's great to go with a guide who explains everything!
One of the best museum I have ever been to. The reason is because it's a hands on emersive experience. I wouldn't classify it as museum but an active workshop where you can learn and take part in building a ship of the past.
There's a working blacksmith where you/your child can strike the iron when it's hot. A few carpenters, a rope makers and a sail maker. Plenty of things to do and plenty of people to ask questions.
A beautiful place worth visiting and buying tickets in order to see the ship from the inside. It is very beautiful and contains a lot of details and explanation, the workers there are very friendly and nice, you will be happy after this visit and take pictures.

Super cozy, spacious (think of good space in between the tables, so even if it's busy you feel relaxed), nice history, good food, view to the sunset. Definitely worth a visit or more.
This place has loads of character take a peak inside. It is laid back with youngish staff members but the service is friendly and helpful. I had a great cheesecake with delicious cherries, and sorbet ice cream, really nicely presented. They made me a cold coffee as I requested without any fuss.I like this place.

A not very welcoming location, I was around 19.00 and did not want to serve me given that it closes at 23.00. This happened to me twice at the same location, because I am not a Dutch citizen. Shame on them.
The food was goed, i ordered mix grill, it was tasty, but sadly served is a cold plate!! My meat was cold in not time, my girl ordered kipsate, and it was delicious and a lot of it!!

Luchtvaartmuseum Aviodrome is a family-friendly venue in Lelystad, offering an extensive collection of over 100 unique aircraft. Very impressive, fun family activity. The exhibition is larger than we initially expected. We bought online tickets and we went early to be able to go into the simulators but two of them in the main building have a minimum length of 160cm, so our kids weren’t able to do these. However there was still plenty to see and do such as sit in the cockpit of an old training jet. There is also a large playground outside for kids.

Nice museum, the entire aviation history of the Netherlands is beautifully presented. It's interesting to see how this has changed over the past centuries. There's also plenty for kids to do to keep it interesting. The only downside was the very long line at the parking ticket machine
Very nice place for adults and kids. Prices of food an drinks is crazy but Jon the less we really enjoyed it. There's alot to do an see. Lots of play for the kids.
If I could award this place, I would award it with a labor of love award. It's educational, interactive, historic, and next to an "active" airport. I really enjoyed the flight simulators which is reserved for adults but there is also more than enough for the younger audience. Would recommend it for sure.
Visiting the Luchtvaartmuseum was truly an enlightening experience. The exhibits provided a wealth of information about the history of flight. There were numerous interactive displays that kept the kids engaged. I certainly had a wonderful time exploring all the different aircraft. I look forward to returning for another visit in the future.
We loved this place!
We arrived at 10am before it too hot in the sun! The museum was very insightful and we learned a lot of new things, like KLM being one of the oldest airlines in the world!
There is plenty of space for kids to play indoors or outdoors! When they play indoors, you have tables everywhere where you can keep an eye on your kid playing.
We will definitely come back!
A very nice place for aviation enthusiasts to know about aviation related events and history of Nederland from the pioneers, those involved in war and how they grew up in commercial aircraft having their own factories of aircrafts, such a great time travel. Good food, nice children playing games. A must visit for travellers!!!

Natuurpark Lelystad is a sprawling wildlife sanctuary spanning 400 hectares, offering an array of activities such as hiking, biking, and birdwatching. The park is home to a diverse range of animals including boar, bison, deer, Przewalski's horses, otters, storks, elk and birds of prey. Visitors can explore walking and cycling paths that wind through forests, fields and along lakes and rivers.
Amazing location for a stroll on a bike or walking. You’ll find otters and other animals, including European bisons! Very small fee (few euros) and a full day of activities! Very welcoming staff willing to explain in various languages the fauna and flora from the nature reserve. Great learning opportunity!

Big park, great for a rainy afternoon since nobody will be there. Don't go with impatient kids because the huge natural enclosures make it hard to spot the animals, which is great from their point of view! The park is dog friendly except for a few parts.
Walking through the park is nice, but I found it a bit overgrown (lots of long grass and reeds). It was fairly difficult to get good views of the animals.
Natuurpark Lelystad has no entrance fee, but there is a parking fee of approximately €3. Additionally, backpack routes for children cost €2.50 per child plus a €10 deposit. Tripadvisor and Nationaal Park Nieuw Land mention these details.

Beautiful park to walk or cycle through. It is quite tough to spot the animals though as they have lots of places to hide which is great for the animals but can lead to disappointment if you expect a zoo.

Oostvaardersplassen, a 56-square-kilometer nature reserve located between Almere and Lelystad, was originally intended to be an industrial area. However, the spontaneous settlement of diverse flora and fauna led to its transformation into a picturesque nature park. The reserve is home to various wildlife including birds, deer, foxes, cows, wild horses and more. Visitors can enjoy the sight of stunning wetlands, forests and beautiful flowers while walking along accessible paths.
Great place to stop and take a breather. Cute little shop that you can buy souvenirs, food and drinks.
The paths themselves are clean and maintained. We did see horses. Maybe a few birds.
If I’m back in the area again I would go back.

There are a lot of walking trails around the Buurtcentrum, awesome!
Such an amazing place, full of wildlife. Took the purple route from the visitors center, which is the only path that allows dogs.
We did a ~5km walk with our toddlers, came across a herd of wild horses who blocked the way (rule is, stay 25m away)! We also geese and big fishes in the water. The paths are easily accessible and entrance is free.
Nice national park to see birds

Very interesting site for ornithologists/butterfly/botanist. However, signs to the different bird towers are somewhat lacking.
A beautiful nature reserve that is home to many animals from birds to deer, foxes, cows and wild horses but to name a few. There are some stunning wetlands to see as well as forests, and there are walking paths accessible to all. There are beautiful flowers also

KFC, the iconic restaurant chain famous for its delicious buckets of fried chicken, offers a variety of combo meals and sides that cater to every craving. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting one with my kids after an exciting day at Walibi. We were greeted with fast service and enjoyed our meal in a clean environment—definitely one of the best KFC locations I've experienced!
A little surprise when we saw KFC on highway. Immediately decided to take the exit and had some original chickens. They tasted very good!

Horrible place. Dirty place run by dirty people. I asked to dine in and didn't get my food on a plate (dienblad). When asked why, she told me they didn't have plates.... Maybe if they clean the place, they would have plates, which were stacked at the trash. Cleanliness, its not a priority.
If you have been to this place, you need a shower. They need to hire a manager who know what cleanliness means. Disgusting!
After 25 minutes of waiting I asked whether something went wrong since I saw people who ordered after me with the same items leave with their food. Then it was there within a few minutes, no excuse or anything. There were some friendly people behind the counter, but most of them can be more friendly to customers.
I came at a peak. I had to wait almost 45 minutes to minutes. at no point it was announced it would be a long time. Then the corn was out. I was offered fries, which already were in the package or to wait around 20 minutes (at which point my food had been cold or eaten). they told me they had no other option (not even a. refund). To get my food and due to the stress in the kitchen, I just decided to not persue the discussion further and left. but that was a horrible service, I will not be back. Just go to the McDonald's next door, which has a much better service.

Crowded, and worked at a corner of a junkfood parking lot. It's busy because it's near a hotel. Personel is adequate and no nonsense but in a professional way. Wouldn't say the dining part is clean. But kitchen seems OK.
Was there yesterday with my kids after spending the day at Walibi :-) Fast service, good food, clean tables, I believe it's a best KFC location from recently visited
I placed my order over an hour ago. During all this time, they kept updating the estimated delivery time again and again, and after an hour and ten minutes, they just completely canceled it. I will never order or buy anything from KFC Lelystad again. It’s complete bullshit.

The rooms offer scenic views of the small lake and feature a delightful deck for relaxation.
We were with a group of students from abroad and our stay was excellent.
Breakfast was good as well!!
One experience we should share: the driver of our bus had a visitor bouncing on her room door at night, at least that was what she thought. It turned out to be a heron banging on her window at two in the morning! The bird was gone before she could get her camera. An hour later it happened again, another heron! Very special.
Apparently a guest staying in that room fed the animals?
We had ten other rooms and there nothing happened.

Interesting combined restaurant and small hotel with bungalow like accomodation. The restaurant is open till late, but breakfast on Sunday is served only from 8 o'clock.
We did not stay at the hotel and only visited the restaurant at an attempt to ingest something to represent something similar to a meal.
If you are looking for disappointment, look no further. Looking like a quaint motorway stop, this place has to be the most overpriced frozen microwave meals one can come across. And we paid a small fortune for it too. When the waitress asked us if we enjoyed the meal, she was not surprised when we said that it was horrible. As a matter of fact, she responded saying that she would never touch a meal in this place........ I just wished we knew that beforehand. Do not go here! Absolute waste!
Can't make any claims about the rooms, merely the restaurant and toilets. Toilets were very clean and well-equippes. Restaurant is comfy and friendly, with a good range of options. Burgers were clearly frozen but still tasty. Solid option for travellers looking for a higher quality break.
The place used to be a very good lunch establishment, but compared to a few months ago it is really disappointing. The food quality is bad, the service is getting worse. I would rather go to a sandwich store at a tank station than waste more money on bad quality food. It is a shame that this went so bad and the value for money went significantly worse.
It is a shame, because it used to be their unique selling point to be above average in both food quality and service. But maybe the focus is more on the hotel now.

McDonald's promised freshly made burgers. It was very busy so you would think that everything would be hot but the burgers were luke warm.
Great place to eat. They use the new systems, the touchscreen but also the portable number so they deliver to your table. The only downside is that this appears to take little bit longer, but not too much. Also the drive-through is fast, with two stations, however I recommend you check your order before driving away.

Always busy and hectic! The area around the restaurant is dark and not very well-lit at night. A long line of cars awaiting their turn to order during peak hours. But fast and efficient service. In the past it was quite full of trash of the many cars lined-up. People choose to eat in their cars, so to accommodate that, they've placed trash bins. We often choose the plant-based menu and it's freshly prepared for us. Worth the wait in the drive-through. Compared to other Mcd's, they don't scrimp on fries.

By far the worst McDonald’s we’ve ever gone to. Extremely long wait times, unwillingness to modify food (I.e. add or take away cheese), disgusting/cold food when it finally came. And they forgot our order number. Don’t come here!

Marker Wadden is a stunning harbor island nature reserve that offers hiking routes and abundant birdlife, including avocets and plovers. A number of artificial islands created in the IJsselmeer, just above the water level, where plants and animal species gradually find their way to or are introduced expressly in a form of guided nature development. As an experiment in nature or nature park it is very interesting. No permanent human presence is allowed, except for scientists. But a small part of this little archipelago is accessible during the daytime, and can be reached with a ferry three times a day. Nice if you love birds, lagoons, reed and sand.
Very nice new nature area, nice views birds, nit to busy, you can walk good there, even there houses to rent for holiday, there is a place to eat and drink, not meals, snacks, you can go there with your own boat, it has a harbour, or by ferry or by a trip, like I did, free entrance

The marker wadden are definitely worth a visit if you love being surrounded by water and see some exceptional nature. Just a boat ride away from Lelystad it’s a great day trip for the summer in the Netherlands. You learn all about the Markermeer, its hydrology and the special type of nature we have in the Netherlands.
Amazing place. You can climb bird viewing towers and look under water. Nice small marina with a beautiful beach. Staying overnight in your boat is a hippie-like almost spiritual experience.
To get here, bring your own boat or get on a ferry from Lelystad.
Absolutely love this beautiful nature archipelago. I arrived around 9pm on Friday evening and it looked like I really got the very last place moored of to another boat. They only allow two next to each other so on a beautiful weekend I’d recommend to arrive earlier or if the wind is not too crazy anchor out in front for spectacular sunset fees and tranquility. The beaches here are really deserted and you have them nearly all to yourself once the last ferry for day visitors leaves. Priceless while it’s crowded every where else when it’s beautiful weather in NL
Magnificent island with beautiful nature. We did the 7km coast walk and it was nice. It was good for the time that we had. Unfortunately, there were relatively little benches where we could sit and all of them were taken. Bring drinking water, they don't have it there yet, so you would need to buy for a high price.
The cafe is cute and nice.
Also bring an umbrella or poncho because it could rain. But that was still very nice.
We definitely recommend visiting Marker Wadden!

Houtribhoekstrand in Lelystad offers a pleasant surprise for beach lovers, especially those who may be used to coastal beaches. While it may not be ideal for swimming due to its freshwater nature, the small sandy beach is perfect for kids to play and splash around. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on this beach. Visitors can enjoy snacks from a nearby shop or bring their own drinks.

Nice beach for an evening picnic with family
Nice place to enjoy some sun on the beach. Bar, WC, and beach shower available, and clean. Small but nice Calisthenics point at the beach.

Lelystad Airport is a regional airfield catering to general aviation, pilot training, and recreational flying. It offers sightseeing tours and houses the Aviodrome museum along with a restaurant, Flantus Cafe Restaurant, providing great views of the runway. The airport is known for its friendly ground staff and efficient operations. While it has international ambitions for charter flights, decisions are pending. Plans for new terminals, taxiways, and runways are in progress.

Ecellent GA airfield - had a fanatastic trip there from the UK today. Very organised, effecient - even had a 'follow me' to the parking. Super nice and helpful people there. Would very much recommend.

Departure: Flight plan was rejected first, but the staff helped and called Schiphol to fix the issue. If you spontaneously file your flight plan at Lelystad airport, be aware that ETD (at least for VFR) must be minimum 60 minutes after you filed your flight plan. Looking forward to visit Lelystad airport again!

With the birth of our little one we got to know Baby-Dump, of course! It's a nice, beautiful store with a lot of products, that you can also to try out there. We have already bought a couple of things at the store in Houten. Each time we were very happy about the advices we got from the staff and the quality of the products they have. One time we had to exchange a bracket from the stroller because it was the wrong one. They were super helpful and with no questions they did order the right one for us- amazing!
Placed an order on the 24th of July, all items ordered online were available for delivery directly according to the website.
So aside from confirming my order via email there was no communication from Baby Dump about the status of my order or when it was going to be delivered.
I personally had to call them on the 2nd of August to find what was going on regarding the status of my order and when it would be delivered.
Directly after ending the conversation with customer service, I get an email stating 2 items can't be delivered and that I would get my money refunded in 5-10 working days!!!
5 days after conversation with customer service the delivery arrives in bits and pieces, with no complete order list of what was delivered. I manually print out my order list and go through everything, still 4 items have not been delivered.
This morning 7th of August I received another email saying another item cannot be delivered....and guess what money back in 5-10 working days.....this is ridiculous! The remaining 3 items can only be delivered 27 days after the original order was placed.
This is really disappointing and frankly very dishonest business practice. Why hold on to someone's money for so long if you already know that you cannot deliver the product that they paid for?
Simply the best babyshop in the Netherlands. We really enjoyed shopping in this warm atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful. I strongly recommend.

When biking around Lelystad we ran onto this beach pub between two marina's of Lelystad. Place is nicely located and has a reasonable atmosphere. Evening sun and typical beach type place. Mostly meat, but also some veggy options. Friendly staff, helpful in getting the answers to our questions. Vegetarian sate was good, fries well-done and crispy. Salad ok but could be a big more for two people. Prices on the higher end for the place. Building a bit rundown from the outside. Toilets ok. Not sure they earn enough to survive as there wer only a few guests on a nice summer evening.

Hello, I am referring to the situation of 3 girls, where the drinks were sent on their clothes and white shoes, and the drinks were not all spilled by the waiter, but mixed (all of them were spilled a little and one or two were broken) the behavior of the waiter and the staff was very good because they wanted to wipe everything and clean it up, but the girls didn't want to pay for the mixed drinks and they wanted new ones, and then they wanted to pay for them, because of the red bots and not the white ones, they wanted to ask for, for example, fries as an apology and nothing else, because they were going for washing and received an absolute refusal, and an order to leave the premises because the manager I talked to was very angry that she had to give anything in compensation for free, let me remind you that no normal person would want to pay for the drinks so they were mixed and poured on white clothes and shoes, alone in I was an interpreter on the phone in this case, and I will say for myself that the restaurant has so many positive opinions that I would like to go there myself because of my love for the sea, waters and oceans, we are people and we make mistakes to be better people after drawing appropriate conclusions, let's treat others how we would like to be treated while hiding our own EGO, and to the staff and the manager, my post may mean nothing and can be ridiculed, but I do it selflessly so that we can be better and nicer people to each other. I do not recommend this bar. My friends and I ordered drinks which were spilled when the waiter served them and our white shoes and pants were ruined. After talking to the boss, the boss told us to pay for drinks that we didn't even try.
Food was nice. Good size plates. Service is very friendly and helpful! Location is amazing. Located at the small beach of lelystad. During summer very nice for a quick lunch during fun times at the beach. In autumn or winter nice location for a walk and dinner after.
Ambience could be a little bit better. Therefore 4 stars. But still great place.

The amusement center Jumpsquare Nieuwegein provided an enjoyable experience for teenagers during happy hour, with plenty of bouncing and fun on trampolines and air parks. The venue was spacious and safe, allowing for various levels of bouncing without pressure to jump too high or fast. However, the place lacked comfortable seating options, as all seats were bar stool style.

Idea is great. Service is terrible. Run by a group of 16?! y/o it's exactly what you expect. I'm not sure what they're being paid for but I think the boss should reconsider. I think I walked to the reception 5 times without someone being there? Which seems weird as they have a lot of stuff exposed behind the counter there. When I wanted to get drinks there was also NO one there multiple times :') They're all ok when being dealt with but you have to actually work to get someone to speak with. The ones supervising were luckily doing their jobs. But a very unprofessional place and not to mention, very dirty.
I do want to say I had a great time visiting anyways but this situation does not seem safe or welcoming to be honest.

We are so thankful for this trampoline park. My daughter had a membership and jumped 2-3 times a week for the past 11 months while we were living here in the Netherlands. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Our daughter, 8 years old, has Down syndrome and everyone was wonderful with her even when she was stubborn or difficult. My other 2 teenage daughters and husband also enjoyed jumping here. Thank you, Jumpsquare Nieuwegein, for giving our family a safe and fun place to exercise and have lots of fun. We moved back to the USA yesterday but will always be grateful for this place and how each of the staff treated our youngest daughter.

When we were there there were almost no animals in site. But to be fair we did visit during at around 1100, which is probably not the best time. The walk over there was nice with lots of yellow flowers. The shelter itself was bet very hot in the sun.
Very beautiful environment with lots of animals like birds, but also horses (from April to October).
In the fall and winter the purple, red and blue walk routes are nice.
During spring and summer it is nice on the green en route.
Great place to see across the oostvaardersplassen and spot some of the wildlife there. It was raining while I was there but still seemed bustling with life.

(Translated by Google) A great place to spot not only sea eagles, but also foxes, Heck cattle, Konik horses, and various birds (spoonbills, herons, geese, ducks, etc.) in a "hut" with large windows. There are also two viewing platforms.
The distance to the sea eagles is considerable. Of course, there's no guarantee of seeing all the animals.
From the Outdoor Centre, it's about a 20-minute walk along paved paths and a wooden bridge to the lookout point.
You can also walk from here to other lookout points, such as the Bittern Lookout Tower (about a 35-minute walk from the Outdoor Centre, about a 25-minute walk from the Sea Eagle). Ample parking is available.
It does get quite warm inside on sunny days!

Prima plaats om niet alleen zeearenden, maar ook vossen, heckrunderen, konikpaarden en diverse vogels (lepelaars, reigers, ganzen, eenden, etc.) te spotten in een 'hut' met grote ramen. Er staan ook 2 kijkers.
De afstand tot de zeearenden is wel groot. Er is natuurlijk geen garantie op het zien van alle dieren.
Vanaf het Buitencentrum is het ca 20 minuten lopen over verharde paden en een houten brug naar het uitkijkpunt.
Ook kun je van hieruit doorlopen naar andere uitkijkpunten, zoals de Roerdompuitkijktoren (ca 35 minuten lopen vanaf het Buitencentrum, ca 25 vanaf de Zeearend). Genoeg parkeerplaatsen aanwezig.
Het wordt er wel behoorlijk warm binnen bij zonnig weer!

Lovely place to stop by whilst going through the countryside - they have a small cafe’ with drinks and refreshments. We did the cycling tulip route and it was a mix of nature and tulip fields - overall, really appreciated, especially the fact that if you download the route on the izi app there are audio stories about tulips and Flevoland! We were lucky to still be able to see tulips on April 29th, but it was the last (or one of the last) days - make sure you come slightly earlier in the month!!

The lady who served us was tall Brunette and I didn’t take her name. We had two kids allergies and straight out of UK with zero Dutch. She quickly switched to English and helped us get the best dish for our allergies and also that one which will blow our minds. They were so kind and welcoming and simply a place to go back to. Busy as always reservation a must. Food very tasty and plenty of choice. The sushi is fabulous and the hot dishes amazing. Good choice for young kids
First round food was good but the busier the restaurant got the least the quality got
Many choices for food. Everything is delicious and service is great. Staff is very friendly and can explain everything to you.
Since renovation interior has changed. Looks beautiful!
Also possible to order some food with allergies restrictions.
Forgot to take pictures, although there seems to be a photo spot.
Went for all you can eat. It was a good restaurant. The only thing is the food came random not in order so it was confusing.
