Big Bench #23 - Neive is an enchanting destination that you simply cannot miss. Nestled near the charming village of Neive, this giant bench offers a delightful spot to relax and soak in the stunning views of the surrounding vineyards. While it may not boast the most breathtaking panorama compared to other benches in the Langhe region, its accessibility and serene atmosphere make it a perfect place for photography or a peaceful moment amidst nature.
So beautiful place
Krishana B — Google review
The views of the langhe region are amazing when you drive around, this is not the best spot for the big bench experience
Michiel B — Google review
What to say... The big brench community is really a great and smart attraction for people to discover Langa... sorry for the honesty but this one has not a really special amazing view as others... Anyway, five stars for the great project and to the lovely village nearby Coazzolo
Mauro M — Google review
While the bench is a fun gimmick, you can't actually get a decent view, as all you see are trees and shrubs.

The Castello di Neive is an 18th-century castle nestled among picturesque vine-covered hills in the charming village of Neive, one of Italy's most beautiful towns. The historic cellars within the castle offer a beautiful visit, with reservations recommended for an hour-long tour and wine tasting. Visitors can explore the suggestive cellars and catch glimpses of the castle while enjoying a tasting of 4/5 wines, particularly their specialty reds. Booking in advance is necessary for this delightful experience.
Our guide was amazing - she explained things very thoroughly, but in a fun way. Though dogs aren't usually allowed on the tour, small dogs were allowed if carried, but beware of the resident cat - as cute as she is, some dogs might get taunted! The wine here is amazing, as was the service during the tasting. Prices for both are affordable and the experience was very fun! You learn a lot on the tour, even if you're not a wine connoisseur, like myself.

We were a group of 19 coming for a wine tasting weekend in June 2025. Our welcome, the visit and the tasting were all exceptional. Our guide and hostess was super knowledgeable about the region, terroir, domain history and wines produced. The wines themselves are superb. Highly recommend, and thank you for a lovely experience!!
Richard C — Google review
A wonderful winery located in a beautifully maintained historic site. The tasting room is located in a building that dates to the 1700s and the castle rooms, where the wines are stored, are impressive. Experience nice wines in a medical castle setting. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging.

Nestled in the heart of Neive, the Casa della Donna Selvatica, or Home of the Wild Woman, is a captivating tribute to the region's rich demo-ethno-anthropological heritage. This museum celebrates the figure of the Wild Woman, emblematic of ancient peasant culture and its deep connection to nature and seasonal traditions. The establishment also pays homage to Romano Levi, a local legend known for his exquisite grappa-making skills and artistic label designs.
Lovely view, great food (amazing plin and fantastic crudo/vitello), the tiramisu is okay. Service was lovely but we were unlucky that evening: we were 2.5 hours in the restaurant, other tables have been reseated and still finished before us. But everyone was nice so next time we will be more lucky :)

Great restaurant in Neive in Piemonte, Italy. We were here for a second time and enjoyed a fantastic, four course chef menu. They have an amazing wine selection to choose from. We were seated outside and looked at a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We will go back again when in the neighborhood.
Ed S — Google review
Our visit to Donna Selvatica Restaurant was an absolute treat! The panoramic view from the restaurant was breathtaking, offering a picturesque backdrop that added to the overall experience. The dishes featuring truffles were simply outstanding, and the pasta dish we had was a true delight. Each bite was infused with the rich, earthy flavors of the truffles, leaving us craving for more. The wine list was equally impressive, with a wide selection that complemented our meal perfectly. The attentive staff made our evening even more enjoyable, providing excellent service throughout. We highly recommend Donna Selvatica Restaurant for anyone seeking a wonderful dining experience in Cuneo!

The views are super good! Also the servir was impecable and the food arrived very fast! I would come here again for sure!!

Very great experience here. We enjoyed the dinner with good services and food. The signature dish was the Tajarin Pasta with the white truffles. Al dente! Creamy! Match with the smell of white truffles. The veal tongue appetiser was unforgettable too! The wine by glasses choice has good quality too. Recommended
Ivan W — Google review
We got to try some very interesting dishes to start including a corn breaded fried egg, which ended up being delicious. And of course had more plin ravioli and tajarin with truffle. Overall, it was fun to try their unique appetizers & the traditional plin & tajarin was good.
Hakjik L — Google review
It's 3.5* : The food was good, but the waiting time for getting orders, coffee, bill were too long. We also had an unpleasant situation when two people from our booked table couldn't join last minute, and maitre d' started saying to us that we would need to pay cover charge for those two who didn't come, because restaurant is otherwise fully booked and is loosing money on what otherwise would be paying customers... This didn't leave good impression. Also the coperto itself costing €5 per person is quite high. And they also charge extra €5 shall you wish to order any dish for sharing (I guess whoever washes plates in this restaurant charges per plate).
Katerina C — Google review
Scam, the menu contains Tajarin pasta for 13 euros but doesn't clarify with tartufo it costs 15 euros more and not even the waiter explained it! After seeing the cost, we asked for an explanation and they simply said if you are not willing to pay we call the police!!! Very rude. The food was very average! Definitely not worth 28 euros for a very average pasta that costs 15 euro anywhere else in this region. It's simply a tourist trap.

Cantina Del Glicine is a unique and must-visit destination for lovers of Barbaresco wine. The small six-hectare winery, owned by Adriana Marzi and Roberto Bruno, offers a glimpse into traditional winemaking methods. The couple, who are dedicated artisan winemakers, take visitors through a forbidding blood-red door to the cantina, which is actually a natural grotto hollowed out into cool cellars perfect for aging wine.
Cantina Del Glicine in Neive was a fantastic winery to visit and tour. Our guide, Maurizio, was absolutely wonderful and fit us in for a tasting and tour last minute. He was accommodating every step of the way, giving the tour in both English and Italian, and sharing his extensive knowledge on the science of wine making and the history of the winery which dates back to 1582! We were also provided with a great tasting of the winery’s own white and red wines. I would recommend this winery to anyone visiting the Barbaresco wine region. Grazie mille to Adriana and Maurizio!
Meaghan M — Google review
Wonderful wine tasting with a lovely hostess. We experienced exceptional knowledge about the different wineries, brands and also the local cheese to eat with the wine. The visit to the winery and fantastic wine cellar was a experience for life. Very good wine and really good prize.
Anders S — Google review
Adrianna was such a wonderful host and we tasted the most amazing wines. She is the artist for the awesome wine labels. We could not speak Italian and she had limited English but somehow we understood each other perfectly. She was an inspiration and such a lovely soul that we cannot wait to come back and see here again.
Sherri S — Google review
Wow! Visited the winery (one of the oldest ones in the region) guided by Maurizio very nice and talented! His english was excellent! The tasting comprises 7 bottles (with 2 barbaresco). Highly recommended.
Gianluca S — Google review
Nice place to visit in Barbaresco, the lady who gave us the tour was friendly and correct. Expect a small tour of the facilities with some explanation and after that a tasting of the wines they have to offer. 1 very nice white wine, several very good reds and if you want they also have some good grappa's to try. The price is 10 euro per person for a tasting but if you buy a few bottles from the store they won't charge you this. Excellent deal, excellent wines
Luca — Google review
We made an appointment for wine tasting in advance and drove 1,5h to get there. Once we got to the place, the lady canceled the tasting at the spot. Apparently she had booked too many people. She did not offer us a new appointment. Very disappointing experience!
Säde V — Google review
Extremely unprofessional, rude older Lady running the establishment. After scheduling an appointment via phone call, a long drive to the Alba region and an additional waiting time of 20 minutes, she told our group of three, that we are not able to participate. We were shocked and wondered, if there was a language barrier. But she proceeded to tell us, that we have to leave and that the tour was full. There were 4 other guests, most likely Italian and possibly french. My best guess is, that she couldn’t be bothered to lead an international group, or that she doesnt like foreigners. No apology, no other possible date or any friendliness. This was the worst experience ever in all over Italy, I can highly recommend to NOT waste your time and effort!!! Best Regards
Marlon S — Google review
Worth the visit to see the cellar from 1582. Had a little language problem with our guide, the owner, so she continued in French, her native language, which we understood less, and that was OK. Charming lady and very good wine. Bought a lot!

Francone Winery is an exceptional establishment that offers a remarkable winery tour and tasting experience. Their extensive knowledge in the production of Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes, as well as the wines derived from them, is truly impressive. The tour itself provides comprehensive insights into these grape varieties and their resulting wines. Visitors are captivated by the wealth of information shared by highly knowledgeable staff members.
A distant relative of the Francone family suggested we visit this winery. We are so glad we did! Not only was the staff knowledgeable, friendly and fun, the wine was amazing. Just wish we would have had more room in our suitcases to bring home more than we did. Meeting the owner was an added BONUS! Don't miss this experience.

We were a group of 19 coming for a wine tasting weekend in June 2025. Valeria was exceptionally accommodating to open outside of normal hours just for our group. Our welcome, the visit and the tasting were all superb. Highly recommend, and thank you for a lovely experience!!
Richard C — Google review
The most enjoyable wine tour/tasting I’ve experienced! My daughter and I booked the “King and Queens” tour, which involved a fascinating glimpse into the history, methods, and equipment employed by Francone over the past 50+ years. Valeria was an incredible host/guide — highly knowledgeable and personable. The 5 wines we tasted (plus a bonus sixth) were all Barbarescos from their top labels (Gallina and Riserva) from various years, and one Barolo. Valeria spent a lot of time helping us understand the many factors that caused each of them to differ markedly from one another. We had the pleasure to meet with Fabrizio as well (one of the brothers who own/run Francone). Highly recommended!
Andrew G — Google review
Wonderfull reception by Marta and Valeria. A visit to Francone was highly recommended to us by friends and we were certainly not disappointed! Their Roero Arneis is a little pearl and the Barbaresco’s were fantastic.
Jan F — Google review
It was really nice to know more about Francone and their history. What a great and beautiful work they do! As well as the hostess was super kind the whole time and shared many interesting information along the visit that lasted for almost 2 hours. This was our first visit in the piedmont region and for sure the best. Thanks for that!
Nathalia N — Google review
Great wine tasting with amazing explanations. Marta was proffesional, and gave us usefull information about the wine. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm. We truly enjoyed it a lot
Gilad V — Google review
Fantastic experience! The warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cellar tour was incredibly interesting and informative - our guide was clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the winemaking process and the history of the winery. The wine tasting was expertly curated, with thoughtful explanations of each wine’s unique characteristics, terroir, and food pairing. This is exactly the kind of authentic, educational, and memorable experience that makes Piedmont special.
Alexandra S — Google review

Negro Giuseppe Cantina offers a warm welcome and an informative tour of their facility, led by the passionate son, Marco. The tasting on the beautiful terrace overlooking their own vines is a highlight, accompanied by explanations of the wine characteristics. Visitors appreciate the family-owned atmosphere and the personal attention given during the tour and tasting. The panoramic view of the vineyard adds to the overall experience, making it a highly recommended visit for those who appreciate high-quality wines and friendly staff in a beautiful setting.
Wine tasting on the most beautiful terrace We were warmly welcomed by the son Marco and shown around the entire facility. He took a lot of time and explained us various process steps and answered questions about the production. The crowning glory was the tasting on the beautiful terrace overlooking their own vines. To the plate with cheese and salami Marco has explained us the characters of the different wines. We really love such family, rather small wineries. The only downer was that the rosé was unfortunately already completely sold. Fingers crossed that it works next time.
Fabio — Google review
Such a beautiful outlook, wonderful wine tour and tastings by Marco. He took the effort to explain the difference between all the wines and wine making methods. Highlight of the trip! And walking distance from Neive town for those without a car :)
Louise C — Google review
Very passionate man who gave the tasting, and a very beautiful place overlooking his own vineyards from the panoramic tasting room. Tasted different barbarescos and his very interesting rosé from the nebiolo grape which was very nice. I would recommend going here!
Evan V — Google review
Such a great experience! High quality wines and friendly staffs. Panoramic view of the vineyard.
Angie E — Google review
Marco was easy to book with, greeted us upon arrival, gave us a tour of their cellar, and guided us through their wine making process explaining how they age each of their products. The tasting itself looked out over the valley allowing Marco to point out where each grape came from. Wines are all superb, the only problem we had was deciding which wine to buy as we have limited suitcase space!!
Grant L — Google review
Definitely worth visiting! The reviews are good but the experience and the tasting is much better! Even though we were with two they took the time explaining everything and tasting their wines, which were of high quality. Go here, you won’t be disappointed. Well done!

I tried to contact the restaurant and the hotel via email 4 times, even tried contacting via instagram - no reaction :-( ----- Addendum 5 months later: a booking through an agency worked out and the stay was perfect and fantastic. 5 Stars!
Martin B — Google review
I was bringing a group of six people for four rooms to this hotel. On our arrival to Milan, my mother-in-law fell at the airport and broke her arm badly. This meant that three of us (two rooms) had to return to the U.S. for her surgery. The hotel aggressively hounded me for full payment that first day. I did the right thing and made full payment for the stay via credit cardt. The hotel said they would try to "re-open" the room for other potential guests. I only assumed that honest and reasonable people running a hotel would give a partial refund for nights when the rooms were rebooked, if that happened. Our friends who stayed at the hotel reported that one room appeared to be re-booked for a night and the other room was re-booked for two. It only seems fair and reasonable that they would give a partial refund. But no... the hotel profited from my mother-in-law's broken arm and our forced cancelation. They double dipped by also collecting payment from additional guests. They made MORE money than if we had been able to arrive and stay. Again, I never asked for a full refund. I understand that. But the fact they would refuse repeatedly to give a partial refund... that makes me want to NOT reschedule our vacation and not give this hotel a second try.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our evening at Umano. First time we tried the place and the service and food (specially the steak!) tasted soooo good. I can only recommend this restaurant. See you soon!
Alexander L — Google review
What’s not to love about Umano? Warm, friendly service, fantastically delicious food, and well laid out seating. Beware the portions are a bit large, and yet so delicious, that you will possibly injure yourself trying to eat it all; we ordered 3 courses and absolutely could not make it to dessert. The food itself has a modern and yet familiar presentation. This is a restaurant you’ll want to go back to again and again and again. The bone marrow, carpaccio, and truffle pasta are enthusiastically recommended. They gave a great wine list too.
M M — Google review
Fabulous dining in Neive, with enthusiastic service and good mood. We loved the Zucchini and Shrimp starters. And the Piedmontese steak was matured and prepared to pure perfection, and went so nicely with a heavy Nebbiolo from the area.

Big thanks to Max for the amazing dinner and time we could spend in Umano! The seafood pasta super delicate and the 'old cow' Fiorentina steak made us speechless. Simply excellent aging and cooking. Sorry, the desert foto was forgotten, we enjoyed it so much with the Champagne recommended by Max. The combination was just pure pleasure. Btw the wine collection (incl. Champagne) is outstanding and supported by the staff expertise. We will have to come back! Big THANKS for the excellent dinner

Great new discovery (for us) in Neive. Granted, we have not been disappointed by any other restaurant in town in the past, but Umano adds a little something to the traditional menus available in the area, with his dry aged steaks, unheard of in Langhe since Campamac in Barbaresco 7 years ago. We had a great time and Max helped us with the menu and wine choices. Liked it so much we’re going back next week

Naevia is a renowned restaurant in Italy that offers an exceptional dining experience. The Piemontese cuisine served here is considered to be the finest, with dishes like Vitello Tonnato and Plin receiving high praise. Guests have expressed their gratitude for the kind and accommodating staff, particularly mentioning hosts like Felippo and Lorenzo for their knowledge and hospitality. The restaurant's wine selection has also been commended, adding to the overall positive dining experience.

It was late in the afternoon, the kids were hungry, and we have stumbled upon Naevia. The kind staff took us in even though we had no reservation. Lucky, lucky us, this was a lunch I will never forget. Im my humble opinion, this is Piemontese kitchen at its finest. The Vitello Tonnato was amazing, the Plin is hands down the best you will find. Instead of the commonly found sirloin they were served a perfectly done Picanha steak, and the brasata was so so good, served with the richest wine sauch I have ever tasted, we had to order another one. Even the kids pasta was delicious, homemade, drowning in melted butter. My daughter was also melting as she ate it. The raspberry puffed-up (for lack of a better word) penna cota with chocolate core served as a pefect finish, and we had an awesome bottle of the Maria Teresa Barbera by Cecilia Monte as the perfect companion to all that goodness. I have to visit them again in the truffle season. If you are around you must call them up and reserve, it is a place of pure culinary joy.

Nestled next to the Bottega, Ristorante La Luna Nel Pozzo is a delightful spot for lunch that showcases traditional dishes crafted from nearly 100% organically-certified ingredients. The warm and inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect place to enjoy a meal, but be sure to reserve ahead as it can get quite busy! Guests rave about the deliciously presented courses, from raw meat starters to creamy risottos and succulent veal with tomato jam.
We were there on Thursday and had fortunately reserved (several guests had to be turned away). After a warm welcome and a nibble on the house, we made our way through various courses. The food is very delicious and nicely presented. The restaurant itself, however, is rather old and plainly furnished, but this is more than made up for by the lovely and courteous service. The energy that the owner puts on the day despite old age is really remarkable and we felt very comfortable. GRAZIE.

We were a group of 3 for Monday lunch. We enjoyed the raw meat starter, asparagus and cream cheese risotto, and sirloin of veal with tomato jam and fried semolina. The wine was a bottle of Collina Serragrilli dolcetto 2021 from Neive. Everything was superb. You must also try the desserts - often dolci in Italian restaurants are not imaginative, but here you will be delighted.

A hidden gem! The combined food and service made this a truly amazing dinner. At first glance the restaurant doesn’t look much. But if you are after a truly genuine Italian food, service and ambiance restaurant this is highly recommended.

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Langhe Country House Neive (CN), then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Dante Rivetti Wines. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Bed & breakfast
Langhe Country House Neive (CN) is a charming B&B with warmly decorated suites, complimentary parking, and an outdoor pool. The picturesque wine village of Neive has a rich history dating back to Roman times and offers stunning views of the rolling hills of the Langhe. While the hotel doesn't have its own restaurant for evening meals, guests can easily pick up local ingredients for a relaxing evening by the pool.
This is a lovely place to stay whilst exploring the Langhe wine region. Big comfortable rooms with gorgeous views. The breakfast was amazing. Full of delicious food. The garden and common seating area was beautiful. Dogs and kids are allowed so just be prepared for some barking and squealing. Super friendly and helpful service. Great location. Some lovely restaurants nearby.

I've never wanted to change my travel plans in order to stay longer in a place as much as I did when it was time to leave here. The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful both before our stay via email when helping to make reservations, etc. and all throughout our stay as well. Our room was spacious with very good AC (which was much needed with our weather!) and a very comfortable king bed. The pool space and grounds are beautiful. The breakfast spread is amazing. And the location was perfect for exploring so many wonderful towns, wineries, and restaurants. Really this was one of the best value hotels we have ever stayed in. If you are considering staying here absolutely don't hesitate to book!

This was our second stay at the Langhe Country House. The first time we came with a group of friends in 2018, this time with a smaller group in 2022. So glad to say that nothing has changed in terms of style, service, surroundings - if there is any change then it is the addition of a spa area that is absolutely magnificent and apparently a hazelnut orchard The Langhe Country House run by Nadia and her team remains a true, beautiful gem. A true oasis set among vineyards where everything is taken care of with the utmost attention to detail from the rooms to the breakfast buffet, the honesty bar and the gorgeous pool. The booking process is also phenomenal and Nadia and her team are so helpful eith local restaurant reservations and anything else you might need. Thank you for another memorable stay. We will be back!

We love Langhe Country House so much we cannot wait to go back. The village Neive is very beautiful but the family who owns the hotel makes this place very special because it is warm, welcoming, personal, intimate and comfortable. The house is beautifully restored by the architect owner. The family is charming and sincere. The room is beautiful, simple and chic. Breakfast is very high standard. We liked the honey with truffle so much we rushed to town to buy a few jar home. It is a great base to explore this beautiful region with excellent food and wine. Most importantly the bed is super comfortable and our stay is relaxing and memorable. It is not a ultra luxury hotel but it is certainly luxury for the mind!

Beautiful hotel near to Neave. Charming rooms, pool, wines and location. Only drawback is the hotel doesn't have its own restaurant for evening meals. However, a quick trip to the local supermarket for some tomatoes, cheese and meats can sort that out so that you can continue with an evening at the pool uninterrupted.

Castello di Neive is a captivating destination located in the picturesque village of Neive, Italy. Situated amidst the stunning landscape of Piedmont, this historic castle offers visitors a unique experience blending rich history, cultural exploration, and culinary indulgence. Visitors can wander through medieval streets, savor world-class regional wines, and admire the breathtaking surroundings of the Barbaresco vineyards nearby. The cellars within the castle are not only beautiful but also offer an insightful journey into winemaking traditions.
Amazing winery, incredible history - building is a walk through time - wines are classic Piedmont, Barbaresco and Dolcetto, good set of tasty whites as well (try the Reisling) - highly recommend if you are in Neive and are looking for an afternoon tasting some of the archetype wines from the area

Martina gave my family a tour and the property was beautiful. She spoke so eloquently and knew so much about the wine, history, and stories. The winery is absolutely beautiful and the cellars are so old but just as breathtaking. Alicia helped to pour our wine for our tasting and she was also very friendly and knew so much about the wine! This experience was perfect, and Martina and Alicia couldn’t have been more pleasant. I highly recommend anyone to go visit to immerse themselves in the history of this region, and to enjoy some delicious wine!

(Translated by Google) Second year that we come to this winery with room and breakfast treatment. I recommend doing the tasting and buying their sincere and natural wine. Managed by a united family who works in the company, father, mother and two brothers Federico and Stefano. All splendid, lively and cheerful people, with a strong idea of hospitality, which makes you feel at home. There are three rooms, practically new, spotlessly clean, very large and with every comfort: underfloor heating, air conditioning, TV, bar fridge and herbal tea pot, tastefully furnished in classic Piedmontese style. The rooms also have a balcony with table and chairs. The peculiarity is the large windows overlooking the vineyards, one on the Barbaresco hill and tower, another on the village of Neive and another on the Alps. Central location and ideal for various destinations: Alba 6 minutes by car, Barbaresco 4 minutes, La Morra and Barolo 20 minutes. I cordially thank you for the hospitality and kindness that always abounds. P. S. absolutely worth buying their hazelnuts, simply fantastic. If you're looking for an unforgettable wine tour experience, look no further than Massimo Rivetti. Nestled in a serene and less touristy part of the region, this vineyard offers a delightful escape into the world of fine wines. The knowledgeable guide, Irene, shares her passion for the vineyard's history and family legacy with warmth and respect. Visitors can explore ancient grapevines over 75 years old while enjoying tastings of high-quality wines crafted from only the best grapes.
We had an amazing time at the guided tour on the 20th July 2024. The tour was very interesting, we saw the wine fields and she explained how they grow, maintain and harvest the grapes. We saw the production of how they press and store the wines and she explained the whole process very well. After we went to the shop with her in Neive where we tasted a sample of the delicious wines. The staff all spoke very well English and knew a lot about the wines. We had an amazing day and very much recommend this experience to others. Thank you so much from Frøydis and Frank 😍

I was familiar with the label in Canada and was delighted to stumble onto their tasting room in Nieve. We had a good tasting; we tried and enjoyed several Barbaresco wines. Very happy with my decision to follow a wine tour with the Massimo Rivetti family! It’s in a much calmer and less touristic part of the area, but you still get to try the best and most famous wines. We had brief tour and introduction between the grape vines and a detailed tour in their cellar. Most of the day was spent trying different wines (which is of course the best part!) and our host and guide helped us a lot with explaining all the wines and there notes. Definitely recommending them to my familie and friends and colleagues! GRAZIE MILLE!!!

I cannot emphasize enough the exceptional quality of Dante Rivetti Wines and the remarkable family who operates this winery. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the hospitable hosts and promptly taken on a guided tour by the matriarch, despite our language barrier. Their daughter, fluent in English, then graciously led us upstairs for an outstanding wine tasting experience. This visit to their winery was truly one of the highlights of our time in Italy.
We visited in September for a wine tasting with Roberta and had an absolutely spectacular time! The vineyard is breathtaking and the wine is equally impressive. My only regret is that we didn't buy more wine to take home with us. We will absolutely be coming back as soon as we can manage to plan another trip to Italy:)

I can't say enough about what a great, fantastic family that runs the winery. We showed up unexpected and were greeted graciously as guests. We were given a tour by the matriarch who didn't speak any English but made us feel welcome even though neither of us could understand a word that was being spoken. Later her daughter (who spoke English) led us upstairs for a wine tasting. It was one of the best experiences we had in Italy. I would definitely recommend but I would suggest advanced notice be given to them.

L'Aromatario - Osteria e Affittacamere is a charming establishment that offers a warm and authentic dining experience. The restaurant's tasting menu allows for some flexibility, and guests have praised dishes such as Vitello Tonato and Tajarin with Ragu. The attentive and knowledgeable staff contribute to the inviting atmosphere, complemented by the rustic brick walls. Additionally, the affittacamere provides comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price, complete with a delicious breakfast buffet.
We stayed at L’Armoatorio and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The rooms are full of charm and comfort, and the warm, welcoming team make you feel instantly at home. Breakfast was a real treat – authentic, generous, made with local ingredients, and featuring the best hazelnut chocolate spread we’ve ever tasted. We also enjoyed dinner here with a tasting menu that was absolutely outstanding. Highlights included a beautifully prepared vitello tonnato, delicate handmade pasta, melt-in-the-mouth slow-cooked meat, and a seasonal dessert that showcased Piedmont’s famous hazelnuts perfectly. Every dish was crafted with care and full of local flavor. Beyond the table, the local area is simply gorgeous – peaceful, full of character, and the perfect backdrop for such a memorable stay. A true gem we’ll happily return to again and again.

Very nice restaurant, friendly staff, good menu choices or a la carte. The dishes are very well prepared and they look fabulous. Congrats to the chef. The wines by the glass are also excellent. Would recommend to have lunch or dinner.

The food here was devine. Best appetiser tasting plate we’ve had in Italy so far. Rabbit dish was excellent. Wonderful wines by the glass. Babaresco was wonderful. A shame the maître de was so unaccommodating. She would not allow me to turn my chair to face the view when clearly there was space to do so.

Birrificio Citabiunda is a charming brewpub and beer hall situated atop Neive hill in a beautifully restored old school building. The venue offers a wide array of craft beers, along with finger foods, entrees, and delectable pizzas. The establishment prides itself on using genuine ingredients and flavorful recipes while providing friendly and efficient service at reasonable prices. It's a bustling spot that draws crowds even late into the evening, offering an inviting atmosphere for casual dining or quick bites.
Very fun place! Of course you should try one of their beers but the food is also delicious. They have snacks, pizzas, and sweets.

This is a lively, happening place in an otherwise sleepy region. We went on Friday and it was very busy even at 9pm. The pizza we ordered was pretty good, but a little raw in the center. Otherwise tasty, but nothing we couldn't have gotten in California where we live. They seemed a little understaffed so it took awhile to get our order in. I appreciate that someone in Europe is attempting to do the craft beer thing. Unfortunately it's primarily Belgian style stuff, which I can't stand, but I know I'm in the minority there. On the other hand I got a huge G&T for like 7 Euro. Cool spot, but nothing groundbreaking for me, personally.

We drove a long while from Nieve to get here with friends having heard the hamburgers were excellent. We sat inside, the atmosphere was poor and there was no air. The food and service were quite slow and ordinary. I wouldn't rush to go there again.

Located on top of the Neive hill inside an old restored school building, you'll find a wide selection of their craft beers and a variety of finger food, entries and pizza. (Translated by Google) We stopped for a lunch break with a colleague, the place was recommended to us because it is cheap. Still a 70s place, we ate on paper placemats like I think in other places where you stop for a quick lunch. The tables below left a lot to be desired. They offered us the starter, the first course is a second course, we opted for the starter and a second course. I attach the photo of the receipt. I think the starters were expensive for what we received on the plate, the second roast in white wine, I must say good, and a small plate of green beans as a side dish. The carafe of wine good choice. We had to ask to change the bread basket as it was perhaps from the day before... It's certainly a place I won't return to for my lunch break. I tavoli sotto lasciavano molto a desiderare.

Nestled in the picturesque hills surrounding Alba, Ristorante Cantina Del Rondò offers a delightful culinary experience that celebrates the rich traditions of Langhe cuisine. The restaurant features a concise yet classic menu complemented by an impressive selection of local wines, perfect for those eager to explore Barbaresco's renowned offerings.
First of all I want to share that we had a great lunch! Food was incredibly tasty! Presentation has margins to improve but the quality and the taste of the food were amazing. The Location is beautiful spot in the middle of the hills surrounding Alba. I believe chairs and tables could be improved in terms of quality and comfort but it’s a minor detail compared to the quality of the food. The staff was very attentive: everybody were welcoming and polite, but when we walked in, one waiter hear that my wife was speaking English and immediately began addressing her using that language. This was so appreciated by both of us!

Azienda Agricola GIGI BIANCO is a small producer that offers delightful wines. Their approach involves providing complimentary tastings and encouraging visitors to make a purchase. They have an impressive Barbaresco 2016, among other excellent wines, which I highly recommend. The staff is exceptional and ensures outstanding customer service. You can enjoy a free tasting by purchasing just one bottle, which is quite reasonable.
Stopped here in May 2024. We had a wonderful experience, the wine quality is exceptional and our hostess was incredibly knowledgeable and warm. Such incredible value, the wines are high quality and being able to do a vertical tasting was truly a treat. Would return.

Overall enjoyable wine tasting experience. Had alot of wines to taste and bought several bottles that I enjoyed. Would recommend.
Oliver M — Google review
They are small producers and produce nice wines. Their approach is the regular one, free tasting and they expect you to buy something. I tried several wines and the Barbaresco 2016 for me was one of the best and I bought 3 bottles (together with other wines). My approach is: if I like, I buy and and I don't look for reviews or Vivino. I really don't know if their wines are more expensive or not, but I know that they have great wines and I really recommend. The staff is great, you will be very well treated there and have a free taste, just need to buy one bottle for that, what is fair. I asked for the prices before and they showed me and at the end I was very happy and I am going home with fantastic wines. I really respect small producers that make good stuff and they are one of the tops. Highly recommended.
R M — Google review
I don’t get all the negative reviews, most tastings in the Piedmont region start at €15 per person, so why complain when you have to buy one of the bottles? (Barbaresco starting at 25 which is extremely cheap) I had a great experience, was able to taste 8 different vintages of Barbaresco! Something I did not experience anywhere else in Piedmont. See myself coming back everytime I’m low on Barbaresco, what a treat!!!
T.M. D — Google review
Very unfriendly and unpolite people. When we explained that we were on a Vespa tour and that this place was recommended, the owner asked if the tour organisation also advised us to park the scooters in front of the winery. Although there was plenty of space there they asked is to remove them. Subsequently we were made to understand that it was a place to sell wine and that we should understand that. Even when we indicated that we might come back by car, the tone did not change. We quickly left for a winery with friendlier reception.

Wonderful small winery. Great value.
Christine M — Google review
Gentilissima accoglienza e ottimo Barbaresco! A little note for tourists in case this is helpful: this is primarily a cantina where you go to buy wine. They let you try the wine before you buy it (hence “wine tasting”) - depending on which bottles are opened that day (we were offered 7 wines to try) - and you then buy the bottle(s) you prefer. Don’t go there with the intention of doing a wine tasting with all the food bites (and without buying a bottle) - you’ll be disappointed!

Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy, established in 1797, is among the oldest winemakers in Barbaresco. The estate comprises four properties where they cultivate Barbera and international grape varieties, reserving Nebbiolo for their Barbaresco vineyards. Visitors praise the informative tours and tastings, with a knowledgeable host sharing the family's winemaking history.
There are wineries that serve wine, and then there are those that serve views, this one serves the best of the best. Walk right into history with the most outstanding tour guide. The town in itself is nothing short of a beautiful place. The wines themselves were nothing short of delicious, each bottle carrying flavors or the soil and telling the story of the passion and hard work in making them. Definitely a great experience when in the region.

This is a must do experience. Call in advance to reserve the tasting (during harvesting mid Sept - mid Oct it could be more difficult to arrange it) Gabriele perfectly speaks English and will introduce you to the wine production process, step by step through the cellars. At the end of the tour you'll have the chance to taste some of the finest Barbaresco wines: the elegance, the balance and the fullbodyness of the wines proposed is outstanding. Especially if you love mineral ones. 10€ for the tasting, becoming free if you buy bottles (that is almost impossible not to do it :-) If this is your last stop, you can ask them to ship all the wine you have bought, also the ones from other wineries.

Cascina Albano offers breathtaking scenery and an enjoyable ambiance. The exceptional wines truly embody the essence of the Langhe region and the dedication of its producers. Eli and Marco warmly welcome visitors, catering to both seasoned wine aficionados and newcomers alike. This unique winery is a must-visit destination in Barbaresco, where one should not miss sampling their distinctive Perschers, a sparkling champenoise.
From the moment our group was greeted by Marco, the passionate vintner behind this exquisite wine estate, we knew we were in for a treat. His warm welcome set the tone for what was to become an unforgettable experience. As we navigated through the vineyard, Marco’s enthusiasm was infectious. His ability to captivate a large group with his narrative was nothing short of remarkable. It was evident that winemaking was not just a profession for Marco, but a true calling. The wines themselves were the stars of the show. Each bottle we tasted spoke of the quality and dedication poured into its creation. The flavors were rich, complex, and beautifully balanced, reflecting the unique terroir of Barbaresco. The vineyard, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Barbaresco, was the perfect backdrop for such fine wines. It’s a place where the beauty of nature meets the artistry of winemaking. For anyone seeking an authentic wine-tasting experience, look no further. Marco’s wines are a testament to top-tier craftsmanship and are highly recommended. This isn’t just a visit; it’s a journey through the essence of Barbaresco.

Restaurant
Casaforte Dei Conti Cotti Di Ceres is a fortified residence located near Piazza Cocito in Pian Castello. Dating back to the early 13th century, it was constructed on the remains of a Roman building. Notably, in the late 17th century, it served as the site where Piedmont's oldest script on viticulture and winemaking was penned. This historical landmark offers visitors a glimpse into its rich past and architectural significance.

Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Bricco di Neive, Wine Bar Degusto is a delightful spot to indulge in an Italian aperitivo or explore a diverse array of culinary delights. This trendy establishment boasts an impressive wine selection that perfectly complements its menu, which features local dishes crafted with care. While the food is undeniably tasty, some visitors have noted that service could be more attentive and organized. The tasting menu showcases traditional flavors but may benefit from a bit more variety to enhance the dining experience.
Very kind and lovely owner, made our dinner very special for us. Great food, excellent knowledge and wine recommendations. Felt really well looked after. Impeccable service from the owner.
Beth P — Google review
Really cozy restaurant with a nice outdoor area. The food tasted delicious. We can really recommend the tartare, vitello, beer and ravioli. Only thing that could be better is the service otherwise than that I totally recommend Degusto to everyone.
Alexander L — Google review
I wish I could give this trendy restaurant 5 stars. There is an excellent wine list, food is very tasty, but the service lacks attention to detail (wine arrives after food, waiters look disinterested, there is no explanation of the various courses etc). The tasting menu needs a rethink, in my view. They are all great local dishes, but it's made up of four meat based courses one after the other, plus dessert. For me, it was an overload of meat, without much innovation or variety. All this should be taken as constructive criticism. Overall it was an enjoyable experience in one of the most beautiful medieval towns of Italy.
Ebby_e — Google review
The food at Aromatario was very tasty and, like everywhere else in Neive, beautifully presented. Compared to other restaurants, the staff was a bit less cordial and the atmosphere was rather cold and a bit stiff. With warmer weather on the terrace, the atmosphere will definitely be more relaxed and inviting to linger.
Fabio — Google review
Lovely spot and nice ambience. My ravioli was far too salty, and generally the food was pretty disappointing at best and service a bit patchy - our fried cabbage was forgotten altogether and we'd finished the fish by the time it arrived.

Excellent service, absolutely delicious food! Staff was so nice took super care of us, the anchovies antipasti was incredible, same for the beef and the seafood pasta. We will be back for sure! Btw good place to have a date or hang out on couple.

Third time to Degusto and it has moved to the opposite side of the street with a modernized, more spacious setting and lovely wine cellar. The antipasti trio is excellent, the port medallion in hazelnut crust a nice Piedmontese touch. It is nice to find the local dishes with a clever and tasty modern twist. Our server is friendly and very helpful. Would love to return next time we are in Neive.
Gloria W — Google review
The best tasting menu from appetizer to dessert which was a house made panna cotta with house made candied orange peel in an orange sauce. They even make the Sardinian style super thin flat bread crackers with sea salt here. A meat lover’s menu - everything is so good from the regional raw beef dish to the pasta. Great ambiance, fabulous bathrooms :) and really awesome sweet people. Can’t recommend it highly enough and we are experienced Italy travelers. Dress is “business casual” or as dressy as you want. Mangia! Can’t wait to come back.

Villa Garassino is a charming country house located in Treiso, offering a perfect retreat for families and couples. The property features a seasonal outdoor pool, sauna, and bicycles for rent. Guests can also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, concierge services, and a lovely picnic area. The on-site restaurant serves satisfying meals while the bar offers a great place to unwind. The spacious and beautifully decorated rooms provide stunning views of the vineyards and mountains from every window.
Absolutely nice location view and delicious food mostly I need to say a big thank you to who served our table, Mrs Marta, she's a very kind smiley face and good for her job! I only have one negative comment about who serves wine (gentleman) super unhappy and, in a negative mood he has shared his negative vibes with us well it is unacceptable!

This place has very clean rooms and the staff are also generous. It has a wonderful view of the country and winery. We all enjoyed the breakfast, it was all neat. It was a unforgettable experience for two days.

As soon as we arrived and asked for one dish per person, they immediately told us in a curt and annoyed manner: "This is a Gourmet place, here we ask for a minimum of two dishes per person" I understand the effort they make to "educate" the diner, to follow the typical Italian flow of primo-secondo-contorno-dolce-digestivo-cafe... but a little more flexibility could be closer and more open to their visitors. I invite you to reflect that if you want to position yourself as a Gourmet restaurant, it is not a matter of imposing your diners in an authoritarian and uncomfortable way, check the hair that was on the menu, check the scratches on the menu, check the giant prices written on the bottles of wine (I notice that I am paying for an expensive wine), change the cutlery and leave us the spoon contaminated with tuna and then eat other things. Anyway, the appetizers are very tasty and well prepared, the place is a nice.

Perfect location on a hill top with beautiful & comfortable rooms – amazing views of vineyards & mountains from every window! Our room was spacious & spotless clean with great bed linen and a choice of pillows. It was also cleaned every day. Ilaria was absolutely a wonderful host!! She gave us so many great tips, which resulted in unique experiences & visits that were possible only due to her recommendations. She was also very attentive to everything that we needed during our stay (7 nights). She definitely had a major part in making our vacation so amazing!!! Breakfast was delicious with a very nice selection of food, including typical Piemontese food that changed throughout our stay. An additional bonus was that many of the attractions were close to Treiso, including many exceptional restaurants. So if you’re thinking about visiting Piemonte – Vila Garassino is an excellent choice. We will definitely stay here again!!!

(Translated by Google) EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!!! If you love good wine!! If you want to delve deeper into the entire journey of the grape from the vine to the glass!! If you are looking for a real welcome!! If you want to deal with humble people, with great experience and professionalism!! Then you are in the right place!! Maura welcomed us, acted as a guide in the vineyards near the winery, and followed us in an engaging tasting where we tasted all their wines and compared ourselves. Maura explained to us the peculiarities, the various vintages, the climate that characterized the harvests... in short, very few times have I met people who transmit passion and knowledge like her!! Maura is one of the 4 brothers and sisters who run the winery, each of them has different skills, some in oenology, some in administration, some in the vineyard and they form a very strong team with their father as coach...We were lucky enough to have two chat with him who told us interesting anecdotes about the difficulties of the vineyard, the difficult moments after a hailstorm and the joys of perfect vintages!! The tasting has a more than honest price and is accompanied by a very respectable cutting board!! I tasted: BRUT CHARMAT "Sarì" (approximately 70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir) LANGHE ARNEIS DOC “Le Rune” DOLCETTO D'ALBA DOC “Corte delle Viole” BARBERA D'ASTI DOCG “Convento”. BARBERA D'ASTI DOCG “S. (Original) ECCEZIONALE!!!!!!!!! Ho degustato: BRUT CHARMAT "Sarì" (circa 70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot nero) LANGHE ARNEIS DOC “Le Rune” DOLCETTO D’ALBA DOC “Corte delle Viole” BARBERA D’ASTI DOCG “Convento” BARBERA D’ASTI DOCG “S. Lorenzo" (affinata in bariques) LANGHE NEBBIOLO DOC “La Riddolina” BARBARESCO DOCG “Colle del Gelso” VINO BIANCO DOLCE "Hilaris" Se passate nei pressi di Neive fermatevi perché ne vale davvero la pena!!

(Translated by Google) WHAT AN HONOR. Fabrizio, Romano Levi's last employee, has me today Invited to Romano Levi's historic and unique distillery. In Neive in the heart of the Langhe, a unique grappa is produced in small quantities, thanks to the last direct fire still in Italy. A living legend, even if he is no longer with us: Romano Levi left us in 2008, but his well-deserved fame as the greatest distiller of all time is still as alive as ever. The latest spirits created by his hands have dizzying valuations: connoisseurs, ready to pay any amount for the older bottles, search for them tirelessly in every corner of the world, because Levi's fame is global. Fantastic distillery. Worth a visit (Original) CHE ONORE. Fantastica distilleria. Merita una visita

Very good classical ristorante and pizzeria. Excellent Pizza from wood-fired oven. Very friendly and attentive service. We were there on a normal Monday evening and after 20:00 the restaurant was almost completely booked with mainly local Italian guests, which is always a very good sign Once we will be back in Neive, for sure, we will return to this place for having a great dinner again!

This was a great surprise and pleasure. Family run restaurant in a small village. The chef is a young talented guy, cooking local traditional dishes, using fresh local ingredients with a lot of attention to details. Flavors are superb. Service is friendly and efficient. Prices are fair. We were off season, so was easy to get a table, but I was told that on the peak of the truffles season, for example, you need to book a table way in advance.

Travel Langhe Custom Wine Tours of Barolo and Barbaresco offers a unique experience in the heart of the Langhe wine region in Piedmont, Italy. The tours are led by knowledgeable guides who provide prompt and informative service. Visitors can enjoy diverse and fascinating wine experiences along with top-notch meals at local favorites. The tours also offer insights into the history and culture of the area, making for an enriching and enjoyable trip.
Robert and Leslie made our trip so incredibly special! They are knowledgeable about every aspect of the wine region and they are well connected. You will not be disappointed. Most importantly, they are very generous and warm people. If you're fortunate enough to have Leslie cook for you, you're in for a treat. It was one of my all-time favorite meals while we were on vacation (and that's saying something in Italy)! And if you're lucky enough to have Robert bring his camera along with him, you'll have a few pictures to remember for a lifetime. (Hint: Leslie was a former chef and Robert's a photographer!) We had three incredible days with Robert and Leslie and we hope to come back to the area and spend more time with them! They deserve more than the maximum 5-star rating!
Julie M — Google review
I highly recommend Robert and Leslie! My partner and I did a private tour our first of 3 days in the area with them and had an amazing trip after with our newfound wealth of knowledge. Robert and Leslie taught us so much not only about the wine, but the history of the area. Robert took us to several tastings and showed us some amazing views of the land, after a few hours he took us to his home where Leslie had prepared a fantastic meal for us. She also made sure to accommodate for all of my food allergies which was a plus as that is difficult to navigate while traveling. The tour was really special, but my personal takeaway after spending a day with them was how they interact with the winemakers and service providers in the area. It was very obvious that Robert and Leslie are loved and respected in the region. These 2 people made our tip and I am so grateful to have found them and done the tour with them.
Amber T — Google review
Our wine loving group of four had a wonderful time with Robert during our day long adventure with him. He was very prompt picking us up, he was an extremely affable and informative guide (he knows the Barolo/Barbaresco landscape like the back of his hand) and he really paid attention to details. We enjoyed three very diverse and fascinating wine experiences along with a top notch meal at one of his favorite haunts. There was never a dull moment and the day absolutely flew by. If you want to immerse yourself into the history of the area, if you want to experience and learn about regional wines, if you want to relax and be entertained and if you want to soak in the fabulous landscapes, then Robert and or Leslie are the folks you want to tour with. We offer our highest recommendation possible to this tour company.

My wife and I spent three days touring the Langhe with Robert. He is incredibly knowledgeable of the area and of the food and wines. John C — Google review
The Langhe is not simple to understand, either its geography spread across multiple hilltop towns and valleys or its wine designations.
