History Museums
Nestled in the picturesque setting of Llanberis, the National Slate Museum is a living museum housed in the former Victorian workshops of Dinorwig slate quarry. The museum offers an immersive experience into the history of slate mining through interactive activities, demonstrations, and original artifacts. Visitors can explore workers' cottages furnished in period decor from 1861 to 1969 and witness a huge working water wheel.
The place is very interesting. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, blacksmith, slate trimmer, guides, shop team all great. It's closing in a couple of weeks for a refurbishment. I'm sure it'll be even better when it reopens. Shop on site sells the usual attraction goodies, cafe sells cafe stuff. Little kids play area, some quarry cottages all dressed up inside. Lots of original artifacts, machines & history. Great place, get along and enjoy it.

We went to the National Slate Museum having no idea what to expect thinking that it might be a boring little trip on a rainy day. However, we were thoroughly surprised to find this museum was a little gem. There was much to admire, firstly with the ease of accessibility to the facilities and each area of the museum was well presented and enjoyable to view. There were many interesting artifacts to observe and the history of the slate mining in the area was well documented. Our favourite parts were seeing the mining houses over time (it felt like stepping back in time) and the demonstration of the slate being cut, which was both illuminating and humerous. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a rainy day!

Amazing day out for hiking and exploring but also learning by popping into the old hospital.
Victoria T — Google review
It's Free! and you can spend a good few hours in it. You can donate in boxes and it is worth a donation. The area is beautiful as you are surrounded by the mountains and can easily make a great day out in the area. If you like outdoors, go for it on a nice day.
Matthew P — Google review
Great place to visit with plenty to do for up to 2 hours. Free entry was a big bonus, the museum is going to close for some essential refurb works so please check before travelling. Definitely recommend a visit.
Maulik B — Google review
A great place for everyone, especially the youngest, to see and understand the work people had to do and what the effects were. One of the largest slate quarry in the world, which was used by a large part of Europe. Thanks to the people working here, others had a roof over their heads. A lot of rooms showing various stages of production, devices and tools of those times. It is also worth seeing the lines of buildings from 1861 - 1901 - 1969 to compare living standards over a period of over 100 years. A great place for a trip of at least an hour.
Lucca T — Google review
An interesting place to visit! Entry is free which is always nice 😉 Lots of exhibits to look at, along with videos, plenty of history information and some practical demonstrations. The cottages at the end of the museum were a really nice touch, as was the viewing area for the water wheel.
Ian D — Google review
What a fabulous pace to visit parking is £5 for the day. Museum is free and it's fab so much history and things to do. It has a cafe on site a small playground and a gift shop. Outside 2 Minute walk across the way is the lake railway again with small cafe and shop. £10.50 adult return journey about hour total .. the views are spectacular out of this world. A lovely day out for families wheelchair friendly.

Parc Gwledig Padarn is a sprawling 800-acre park in North Wales, boasting stunning natural scenery and historic landmarks. The centerpiece of the park is the glacier-carved Padarn Lake, surrounded by ancient oak woodlands. Visitors can explore the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle and step back in time at the Quarry Hospital Museum to see original medical equipment from the 19th century. The park offers various walking trails, though some may not be well signposted.
The experience in the valley and river is great. We wished to take a boat ride. But the firm running it was not accepting card payments. They were only accepting cash, but nearby cash machine was out of money. I kindly request them to accept card payments too. It’s a perfect evening picnic spot for the family. Go with swim suits.

Lovely country park. Beautiful walks and scenery. It costs £4 to park all day there are public toilets which were spotlessly clean. Amazing views over the lake and towards mount Snowdon.

Drove through Llanberis loads of times whilst in Snowdonia but never been to this park before. Enough here for a interesting & free day out. Started off parking at the first car park opposite the path for Dolbardarn Castle. Dolbardarn Castle is worth the short & steep walk up imo for a quick photo op. You cannot go up the tower. Then it was on to the National Slate Centre around the corner. The buildings are worth a quick perusal & the highlight is undoubtedly watching the short informative film followed by a demonstration of slate splitting. The worker (Jonjo?) finished off by making a shape which you can buy in the gift shop - won’t tell you what it is, it’ll spoil the surprise! Then it was a short path uphill to the viewpoint over the bottom of Vivian Quarry. Great pic! The bottom water level path is closed I believe due to recent rockfall. Then it was along the same path heading slightly uphill again heading north to the Quarry Hospital. A brief interesting walkthrough here. Then back down the steps and across the little bridge along the path along the eastern shore of Llyn Padarn back to the Slate Museum car park. Then we drove the 5 miles or so round the lake over to Dinorwig & along the one track road (Lon Garret) where we were dropped off at the end for the short uphill walk to the top of Dinorwig Quarry. The Quarry is amazing, an otherworldly landscape & very photogenic. You could spend hours or even days exploring here. As it was, we meandered down the hill, past the huge piles of discarded Slate for a couple of miles of winding paths & past the Britannia Barracks back down to Pedarn Park to be picked up again at the Slate Museum Car Park. A great day out! If you want even more there is the Llanberis Lake Railway too!

The circular walks weren't well signposted. There was a map on a hut near car park entrance, and most of the walks start from the incline near the train station. With your back to the ticket office, the incline is facing you - see photos. There is also a full circular walk around the lake.

Scenic Railroads
Llanberis Lake Railway offers a picturesque journey on a narrow-gauge steam train along the northern shore of Llyn Padarn in North Wales. The 2.5-mile trip provides stunning views of the lake and countryside, making it a popular attraction. It is advisable to prebook tickets due to its popularity, and there is wheelchair access onto the train if needed.
The Place is so nice and breathtaking. If you like mountains or so, you should definitely go visit there. People in the ticket shop are very nice and helpful. There are specific times for the train to come for lake railway so make sure to check it beforehand. the view is insane
Nsh H — Google review
Lovely run friendly staff narrow gauge steam railway around the edge of the lake with the most stunning views. The carriages are fairly small but you can still sit side by side within them. The train stops at several platforms and they let you out to take pictures before continuing the journey. The drivers point out the landmarks such as snowdon so you can take pics. The national slate mine is nearby too which is free and well worth a visit
Dean H — Google review
Stunning views, great trip around the lake. You can drop off at the opposite station and get the next train back instead and spend time at the picnic spot/lake. Reasonably priced and can easily make a half day of it. Would recommend take your own food with you, not many options nearby to buy something easily.
Gemma C — Google review
Nice view of the lake along the train route!Good and enjoyable experience for the family! Train ride price is not expensive £2 per adult and £1 per child only. Length of ride is about 1hr including the stops. Train times are every 30-45min.
Kaye D — Google review
I have a small fascination about History and mix that with liking Steam railways of both standard size and miniature ones, this place gives it all! (Apart from standard size railway of course haha) Car park is decent size but If guess during summer it probably fills up well. Was a very nice 35 year old (1990) VW Scirocco parked there on the day we visited. Price wise it's fairly good for what you get, also it's great if you've maybe got only a morning to use. You can use the railway all day on the same ticket and go back and forth along the route. The old slate mine is obviously what this place used to be and the railway originally carried slate back from the mine. But now the very nice carriages that you sit in are comfortable and fairly roomy. It was quite busy when we went. The little Steam Engine has a lot of guts, maybe small but quite a bit of torque as it would have pulled some weight in the past. The line takes you around the side of the lake, with just 4 stops. If you get on at the second stop where you get your ticket from, the train back tracks to the first stop to pick people up at the first platform. Then back to the second platform. It then steams it's way around the edge of the lake, with all the smells you'd expect, wood burning and coal dust which will get in your eyes occasionally when the train is stationary. *** Top tip, don't rub your eyes, it'll only get the dust into your eye more. Moisten your eye with a handkerchief, or a tissue and wipe your eye that way, a dry finger will make it worse.*** You can see mountains from the train journey, it's very pretty indeed. Along the route is a platform where you can get off and have a picnic. The train goes up and down the line all day so you'd have time to eat before the train comes back. Each journey typically lasts around an hour from initial boarding to getting off. If you do get off at the platform towards the end of the line, don't wander to far as the train only sits for 5 minutes before carrying on it's journey, if you miss it, you'll have to wait for it coming back. The shop is as expected, had the usual trinkets and pieces to buy for memories, the prices aren't megs high but things are not cheap. Beautiful place, viewed in great Welsh weather, it had rained but stayed dry for our journey. Enjoy!
Paul B — Google review
Pleasant little steam railway which gave me a nice trip along the lake and back. Not as scenic as the Snowdon Mountain Railway opposite, but much more relaxing and has fewer tourists.

Train goes around the lake. Tickets are £11 per person and cheaper for kids. Worth a try. How’s around the lake.

Snowdon Honey Farm & Winery is a charming little shop with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Visitors are impressed by the wide variety of honey and mead available for purchase. The owner, who is passionate about his craft, provides excellent customer service and is happy to offer recommendations. Despite social distancing measures, guests can still shop from the front of the store. Customers appreciate the affordable prices of high-quality honey jars and enjoy engaging in pleasant conversations while sampling different products.
Hidden gem in Llanberis. Darrell is an absolute darling who even gave us 10% discount for being local so don't forget to mention if you're from north wales. Quality bottles of fortified wines, honey, jam & soap complete with the gift wrap that he takes pride in doing. Defo worth a visit to those who plan to visit Llanberis. One of our favourite places to shop ❤

Wow what a find, a rainy Sunday afternoon, yes it is "just a shop" But what a shop. The Gentleman Daryl, was friendly, knowledgeable and explain the products. He told me that he had been doing the bee's/"this" for the past 50year and it seem he was as enthusiastic now as it was in his youth. Please say hello to him when you go in and ask which honey/Mead he likes the best, and give it a taste, you will certainly have an, original, Welsh and fun experience. Thank you Daryl for your time, Sarah and Jennie.

Saw this place on Google a few nights before, as I had planned to go up Snowdon that day on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. While we were waiting for our train, we decided to take a walk into Llanberis where we stumbled upon this store, immediately remembering the page on Google. Its a nice little store which is closed off to the public due to social distancing measures but you're still able to shop from the front of the store. I saw the owner walking around the outside of the front of the store and introduced myself. He was a very friendly and helpful man, who is very passionate about honey. He has a wide variety of honey, each with it's own distinct flavour, some crystallized and some clear. He allowed me to sample quite a few different versions of his honey which he has packaged himself. It looked as if he had beehives in his back garden and there was a sign towards the beehives but we didn't have time to take a look. I ended up buying 5 jars of honey. I can't wait to return as the honey has gotten rave reviews back with my family in Birmingham. I'll definitely return here to say hello to the gentleman and to buy some more of the delicious, fresh honey.
Yusuf H — Google review
We have been coming back twice a year for at least 12 years Deryl is a lovely knowledge man, excellent honey which is unspoilt by mass production and blending. Every crop has a different flavour and Deryl can tell you which flowers created each flavour.

Well worth a visit , amazing view across the lake and up the valley with cribb gok and Snowdon towering above.
David G — Google review
Stunning location with this fantastic sculpture. I just can't believe that the powers that be have placed a junction box and car park ticket machines under one side of the sculpture, why not place them halfway down the car park or better still, the opposite end to the sculpture. Don't get me wrong, you can still get photographs of it, but it does limit the views slightly
GOOSE C — Google review
Beautiful lakefront view with Snowdonia mountains in the backdrop. The sword sculpture has King Arthur’s vibe to it 😊, a good photography spot. There’s a children’s playground nearby as well. Great community stop next to stunning lakes & mountains.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Dolbadarn Castle is a 13th-century tower fort located in the picturesque Snowdonia mountains. It is often described as the solitary guardian of Snowdonia's Llanberis Pass, offering stunning countryside views. The castle was built by Llywelyn the Great to oversee the inland route from Caernarfon and played a crucial role in Anglo-Welsh conflicts.
Short walk up from the road, steep but manageable, climb the ruin at the top for some stunning views of the lake, a decent place to take some photos. There are also some interesting little paths to follow and a very quaint little stream that runs on down towards the lake.
Will M — Google review
Dolbadarn Castle is a fantastic little stop, and best of all , it’s free! The walk up from the car park is short but quite steep, so be prepared for a bit of a climb. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding Snowdonia mountains and lakes. There’s a helpful information board that explains the history, and you can even climb up the spiral staircase inside the tower. The top viewing area is caged for safety but still offers great views. We visited here as part of our day out riding the steam and diesel trains in Snowdonia, and it was definitely worth adding to the trip.

Good views along the pass and towards Yr Wyddfa and the Dinorwig hydro electric station across the road. The steps of the spiral staircase in the tower are quite small so care is needed when going up and down.

Located in the heart of Betws-y-Coed, the Conwy Valley Railway Museum offers a delightful experience for train enthusiasts and families. Visitors can enjoy an 8-minute ride on a miniature railway through beautiful grounds and explore a diverse collection of locomotives from different eras. The museum also features historical exhibits, including a 14th-century church and Thomas Telford's Waterloo Bridge nearby.
Visited here recently with family and friends and we all had a great time on the train, It is absolutely amazing that this is still being continued and it was nice to help the local business to keep going and give the public this amazing experience. Please visit here and enjoy the ride, the shop also has a lot of models to buy and many other gift options
Vikrant P — Google review
The miniature train ride is a fun little trip round the gardens, probably just about worth the £3 ticket. The museum on the other hand was a little disappointing. I'd have been a bit more upset had it been more than £2. It felt rather tired with displays that hadn't been updated for many years. Many of the model railways you were meant to operate were broken. A bit of TLC required to bring what was once a well loved attraction back upto scratch
Jimmy A — Google review
The miniature train ride is quite fun, our 3 and 6 year old kids definitely enjoyed it, and it does last just under 10 minutes as advertised. Can't say the museum was as good. The model displays are actually quite interesting, but clearly old and dusty. A few of the displays have buttons that should operate scenery or trains, but of the 12 or so buttons we found, only 3 actually worked, and the two that make trains move are just a single locomotive. The second half of the museum has a few interesting pieces, but is also a storage for older models that are clearly on sale.
Daniel L — Google review
Had the best time here a couple of weeks ago, great to see a miniature railways being preserved for people visiting to have a ride on. There’s also a lovely little shop if you’re wanting to buy any railways themed toys or products. The track is actually quite a long one with various aspects like a forest and bridges which make it less mundane compared to other railways. I’d 100% recommend it!
Bhav B — Google review
Lovely little ride to a great train museum and to have a little miniature train ride too then a little ride back to station with a nice shop and cafe...very friendly staff too
Jacqueline G — Google review
Great experience and a nice day out with family and friends. Especially the kids enjoyed a lot. There is a small toy train only two seater for kids which can be accessed for only £1 for two kids. There is a small cafe which has a variety of foods and drinks to offer. There is a shop which offers a variety of souvineers and collectables. There is a dedicated parking available just for the railway, which has ample spaces. Right across the railway is the high street which has numerous shops which offer plenty of food and beverages and ice creams etc. Nice experience overall.
Abhijeet R — Google review
This is a small museum with a few rail set ups. It is only £2 per adult but sadly, most of the set ups did not work when the buttons were pressed to activate them. If the set ups ran as stated it would be well worth a visit.
Nicola N — Google review
Visited in August 2019 on my Wales holiday. I spent a day in Betws-y-Coed and walked around to see as much as I can. The model shop or museum is next to the railway station, the entry ticket is a lovely old style paper ticket to let us behind the shop. It is very small, but definitely interesting and full with old models, built up whole villages and many of them is interactive with different buttons to push. Not just models but everything related to old fashioned railways and travels are pretty much can be found here, so it is a nostalgia journey. That time only me and a male visitor were in the room, but we both enjoyed to play around. There are toilets on site, and in the shop we can buy gifts. Cafe is in the station, parking is on the street, or one of the main car parks in the village.

Subway is a fast-casual eatery known for its customizable sandwiches and salads. The chain offers a wide range of options to cater to health-conscious individuals. Customers can build their own meals, selecting from an assortment of fresh ingredients. The food is prepared efficiently and is delicious in taste. The staff members are attentive and provide helpful service.
Love a Subway. This one has a fantastically Welsh flavour to its binny aroma. MOAR regional specialities please!
Ed F — Google review
Lady behind the counter needs to learn some customer service skills and needs to learn to smile. Working in a tourist destination you would expect better customer service. Ignored what I asked for in my sub. Acted like there was a salad shortage due to the amount of salad she put in my sub. Barely even toasted the sub, due to it being stone cold and the cheese remained the same shape. Honestly just poor all in all. Wouldn't recommend to anyone! Better off getting a sandwich in the spar itself!
Elliece K — Google review
Does not seem to be attended at all times. The products are still fresh and well appointed in line with subway standards. The fact that it is inside a spar convenience store is a bit odd but you still get the same great subway taste. If lunch is calling your name then look no further for a nice footlong goodness.
Hennie H — Google review
It's a subway, it's passable. Food is great as you would expect but as the place is inside a spar, there's nowhere to sit and eat and outside isn't any better. Otherwise, it's great if your passing through, picking something up on the way home or even just something to take on a walk with you. And i suppose, having it in the spar does have it's advantages.
Dane J — Google review
Firstly, didnt have anything in. No veggie protein option, no chicken, no cheese, no natchos, no drinks, nothin. Took 20 minutes to get 2 sandwichs. Then opened the sandwich 20 mins later to find mold on the bread that had just been taken out, i would post a photo but google wont let me . Honestly appalling.
Josie S — Google review
Cramped inside a Spar shop not much room or ingredients to choose from. Customer service reflected the minimum wage but the sandwich was tasty!

Bangladeshi restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Llanberis, Spice of Llanberis offers a delightful twist on traditional Southern Indian cuisine that is both authentic and mouthwatering. This charming eatery has become a favorite among walkers and hikers seeking to refuel after their outdoor adventures. Diners rave about the generous portions and well-seasoned dishes, making it an ideal spot for everyone from meat lovers to vegetarians. The welcoming staff contribute to a relaxed atmosphere, ensuring that each visit feels like a special occasion.
Hands down this is the best restaurant in Llanberis! During our Snowdonia tour, we visited here and tried both veg and non-veg dishes. They serve authentic Bengali and Indian cuisine. The food is delicious. All staff are very professional and well-behaved. As Bengalis, this restaurant is like a taste of home. We will definitely come again if we travel to Llanberis again. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Spice of Llanberis in Snowdonia, which was blown away by the exceptional service and delicious indian food. The dishes were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The ambience was cosy. Highly recommended for  Asian food lovers

A Flavourful Delight at Spice of Llanberis! We visited Spice of Llanberis after a long day exploring Snowdonia, and it turned out to be an absolute treat! From start to finish, the experience was excellent – warm hospitality, cozy ambiance, and, most importantly, delicious food bursting with authentic flavors. We ordered quite a variety to taste the best they had to offer: Sizzling Mix – Arrived on a hot plate, full of perfectly grilled meats with an amazing smoky aroma. Juicy, well-marinated, and packed with flavor – a must-try starter! Madras Curry – A beautiful balance of heat and spice. The rich, tangy sauce paired perfectly with pilau rice and paratha. Puri & Paratha – Soft, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The puris were light and fluffy, while the parathas were buttery and layered – perfect accompaniments to the curry. Mushroom Bajji – Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just right. A great vegetarian starter. Aloo Chaat – Refreshing and tangy with just the right amount of spice. Pilau Rice – Fragrant and fluffy, it complemented the curries beautifully. The portions were generous, and every dish tasted freshly prepared with authentic spices. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. If you’re around Llanberis and craving authentic Indian cuisine, Spice of Llanberis is an absolute gem. Highly recommended for anyone who loves bold flavors and hearty portions.

Use this restaurant as my local Indian and the food and service is always top notch. Alcohol isn’t on the menu but don’t let that stop you, the Supermarket (Spar) has a good selection of beers and wine and there is no corkage fee!! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Llanberis!!

Bar
Nestled within 30 acres of picturesque landscape, The Royal Victoria Hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable accommodations that boast stunning views. Guests can enjoy delightful dining experiences in the conservatory and unwind at the bar. While there’s no set menu at the Snowdonia Restaurant, visitors have plenty of nearby dining options to explore. Many choose this hotel for its proximity to attractions like the Snowdon Mountain Railway, making it an ideal base for adventure seekers.
On this visit we had a short 3 night break, checking in on 14/07/2025. My 93 year old father was with us and it was important to make it a happy, memorable occasion. A very warm welcome was received at Reception, which is always a great first impression! Food was delicious with an excellent choice for breakfast. The lady who served our cooked breakfast was very helpful and friendly, as were all the rest of the staff. We had very comfortable rooms with good views. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and location with lots to do in the surrounding area. We’ll definitely be back yet again in the future! Many thanks to the wonderful team at The Victoria Hotel.

A lovely historic hotel in a perfect location for walking access to all that Llanberis has to offer. Rooms are beautifully decorated and beds are very comfortable. All the staff I met were smily, welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast is excellent! Can't wait to come back!

A great hotel that couldn't be better placed for the Llanberis route up the mountain, it really is just across the road. Rooms are warm and quiet, bar is relaxed and welcoming, the restaurant did a solid fish and chips for me and the rest of my group were equally satisfied with their food. Will absolutely be back if we do the route again.

Third time I've stayed here and love it every time. The service is always amazing, food ordering at the bar is fast and efficient. Staff are always friendly and the service is just amazing. Would I book again? Yea of course, I did another booking whilst I was checking out.

Stayed here for two nights, the room was beautiful and the location was perfect in scenic Llanberis. If you are staying here to hike or ride the Snowdon railway, it is about 2 minutes walk away from the Station platform and very close to the start of the trails. Highly recommend if you are coming to visit Snowdonia.

Great hotel. Amazing location a short walk to the Llanberis Route up Snowdon. The service was fine. Room was lovely and had amazing views. Only issue was the stain on the sofa which was a little off-putting.
Kim M — Google review
I stayed in the coach house and it had to be said the room was pretty average but it was clean and warm which was fine after a day on Snowdon. It just needs a littlenmore TLC there. But what I must say is that the restaurant food and the bar food was terrific. I mean really very good. But what stood out most was the service. What a great bunch of people. Every single person was friendly, every interaction was professional from bar staff to waiting staff and receptionist. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would definitely return to the Royal Victoria.
Robert B — Google review
Having stayed here twice before. I was abit disappointed. The room was forever cold even with the heating turned up. Noticed if you were near the windows there was a draft from them. The walls were so thin you could hear everything next door and in the corridor. This meant being woken up all the time. Breakfast is usually very good. But this time the scrambled eggs were cold on first morning but OK on second. Overall. Nice and clean. Good location for walks. But not for romantic break

Bed & breakfast
Y Gwynedd Inn is a traditional hotel offering simple rooms and a bunkhouse, along with a restaurant, bar, and drying room. After hiking Snowdon, visitors found it to be a solid pub with friendly staff and quick service. The selection of beers may be modest but is just what's needed after a long day. Despite being a locals' pub, the atmosphere was welcoming with good conversation and pleasant staff.
Great place, pleasant bar and staff , very nice food and good value for money, my daughter and I called in for a well deserved meal and a couple of drinks after we had spent the day walking up and down Snowden. We had a good chat with bar staff and local customers alike, everyone was very friendly. Highly recommended pub , we will call in again on our next visit to Llanberis.
Melvyn S — Google review
This is my first public review because I think more people should know how good the food is here. I judged Y Gwynedd Inn before I'd even sat down and my expectations were low. But I can't rate the food highly enough- freshly cooked and super delicious at very reasonable prices. Don't be put off by the exterior or the interior - give it a chance and enjoy.
Laura C — Google review
attracted to the pub because of the high Google reviews, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Very lo-fi, very friendly, very working-class, with reasonable drink prices. The food was incredible – homemade lamb shank and homemade mixed grill, £20 each, and I don’t know where else you can go out, have food and drinks for £50 for a couple, and get such excellent quality meat cooked perfectly, served by such nice, down-to-earth people. Highly recommended!
Kelven P — Google review
The room was modern and had all the amenities you could want (except hair conditioner). There is an automated temperature control on the radiator dial, which was a nice touch. Our only problem with the rooms is that, as side sleepers, we found the beds very hard and uncomfortable. Both my partner and I only got a few hours sleep, had a little back pain waking up, and often just gave up and lay there awake until morning. A back sleeper might not have a problem. Lovely pub on the ground floor (separate business) and there is a café next door for breakfast (though they don't open until 9am).

The food was amazing and good value too. The staff are great especialy martin. Great welsh atmosphere set in beautiful llanberis. Will return
Lojo S — Google review
I was here a few years ago and food was delicious which I can't say is now as good as it was. We waited for our food 30 minutes. My double cheeseburger was a bit overcooked and chips - they definitely were hit up few times or cooked in old oil, even onion rings were greasy 😒
Paulina P — Google review
,Is situated in the heart of Llanberis, just a 5 minute walk to the Snowdon Mountain Railway and within walking distance to most local attractions. comprehensive instructions for self check in given prior arrival. Room met expectation we were looking for our trip although as a couple we were expecting a double bed and not two singles. bathroom basic, clean. shower has big step and no handle to help to support so found it bit wobbly. room was clean, smelled ok, bedfing and towels clean, carpet looked new. working kettle with complimentary coffee, small fridge. views to the street, room above bar, which can be noisy. also space or two available in privete parking at back of hotel once you discuss it with staff at bar. no EV chargers at the hotel but less than minute walk, a neighbouring pub has 2 chargers and available. All in all a good experience but could have been better if breakfast was provided in property and had a double bed.

Great place, pleasant bar and staff , the food was great freshly cooked, and good value for money, a few of us spent a few days in llanberis to climb Snowden. And a few other walks.

Cafe
Nestled at the pinnacle of Snowdon, Hafod Eryri is a charming café that serves as a welcoming pit stop for hikers and adventurers alike. This basic yet cozy spot offers essential refreshments like drinks and sandwiches, perfect for recharging after an exhilarating trek. With ample seating available, it becomes a lively hub where fellow walkers can share stories about their journeys to the summit. The small shop also provides an opportunity to pick up unique souvenirs.
Sizeable visitor centre with toilets, cafe and gift shop. There are some tables inside to sit and have your snacks with a panoramic view across the valley. The toilets are good and clean with enough such that you don’t get long queues. There’s a big map on the wall showing the various hiking routes up the mountain.

A great place to relax, you can buy souvenirs, water, food. Water £2.50, coffee £3.50, magnets +/- £3. There is a toilet, a map for orientation. For convenience, you can go down by train to the city. Adult ticket £35, children £25. You can also pay by card. But there is no mobile communication there. Visitors from Ukraine. Have a good and easy rest everyone!

Second time climbing, two different paths this time. If you want to try it, don't take it lightly, be prepared for fast weather changes, wear decent walking boots and don't underestimate how hard it can be .

Yes it's a tourist trap but there is something about enjoying a craft beer or 2 after a hike on top of Wales. I summitted Snowdon twice in a day and was thankful for clean toilets each time
Rachel P — Google review
Money grabbing at its finest. Staff where borderline rude. No wifi or water to fill your water bottle. But dont worry you can just buy a bottled water for 3 quid. Also train is stupid expensive. Somthing like a 45 quid round trip up and down. We went up pyg path and down llanberis. Took us 4 hours in total. Really annoying climing 700+ plus meters for 2 hours on the way up only to be met with crowds of tourists who took at 20 min train journey, who are hogging the summit monument of the mountan they didnt climb for photos while barging people who clearly climbed out of the way. To finish off my rant. Its just annoying seeing a really beauitful place get corrupted by corporate greed and ruined
Sam B — Google review
One of the best experiences going up on the mountain rail. It's unique and the only mountain rail in the UK. A must visit in Snowdonia. The journey to summit is an hour with breath taking views.
Hemanth K — Google review
I climbed snowdon this weekend, which was great fun and I do highly recommend. However, unfortunately on the climb up the soles on my walking boots started to give up on me! As a I got to the top, which was -9 degrees, snowing and gale force winds, I politely asked in the shop if there was any duct tape I was able to purchase, they advised me there was not. I then went and asked the man working at the train ticket station who completely disregarded me, as I was asking him a question, he turned away mid sentence as I was speaking to talk to a colleague. I was asking if there was any duct tape available I could use. He did not check at all and just replied no. He was so dismissive and rude, so I just walked away. I had no choice so I started my walk back down the mountain, as I got to the end of the ridge the whole sole on my shoe came off, I was walking back on my sock. Myself, my boyfriend and my dog walked back to ask for some help. The man again declined to help with duct tape, he said there was no help with the train and to call mountain rescue. I asked how to call them and he said 999, I said that was ridiculous for a broken shoe and a complete waste of emergency services time based on the fact they had a fully functioning cafe and train line, so surely there was some tape somewhere! I walked away to try and think of a plan. My partner asked another man who worked there if he could direct him to the manager. He spoke to the manager who very quickly said, yes we definitely have some duct tape and brought it straight over. She apologised for the man who completely dismissed us. I said to the manager, surely this happens often and I’m not the only one and she said it happens all the time with people’s shoes. The man then came back over and said he had 1 space on the train as the man who was injured was no longer injured (?? Very odd), but that would have meant my partner and dog would have had to walk back on their own, and as I now had duct tape I was fine to repair the completely broken shoe and take the quickest and flattest path back down. I asked him what mountain rescue would have actually done and he said they would have sent volunteers up to me and stretchered me back down on foot. I responded and said ‘all for a broken shoe’ and he replied they probably wouldn’t come. He was so rude and dismissive about the whole situation. I understand that I choose to climb snowden that day in my shoes, however as the point of safety at the top of the mountain I would have expected them to be more helpful in my situation. I was prepared to buy the tape if needed. I was also a paying customer as I had bought drinks and a £25 pair of socks! I really hope nothing more serious happens up there because the staff particularly the train man was so rude, dismissive and unhelpful.
