Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Soave Castle is a well-preserved medieval fortress with a rich history dating back to the 10th century. It has been at the center of social and political life in the region, witnessing disputes over its ownership by various powers including the Scaligeri, Visconti, and Republic of Venice. The castle offers tours and boasts stunning vineyard views from its turreted ramparts and tower. Soave itself is an ancient village with Roman origins, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture.
Great place to visit while in the area. The castel is owned by a private person and they've done an amazing job restoring the castle. The lady who was there was fantastic, she shared her knowledge about the place. Highly recommend to visit the castle.
Ewa F — Google review
Large castle, nicely furnished and decorated in a few choice rooms. Really cool to be able climb to the top of the tower and have that view out over Soave and an expansive view over the valley. Bring your camera! Without a tour and hour or so is probably sufficient to wander the grounds unless you just want to hang out. Certainly worth getting inside the castle.
Richard — Google review
Stunning views of the surrounding villages. Very friendly staff members. Small enough for us to walk through it and feel like we saw everything in about an hour. Would recommend the visit and visiting the village below.
Dan B — Google review
Cutest little town. We had a lovely afternoon here with our kids after lunch at i tigli. Soave is picture perfect, straight out of a storybook. The kids loved the train ride up to the castle and back, we ate amazing gelato and granita and strolled the streets. We of course grabbed a bottle of wine to take home with us. Highly recommend to visit.
Amelia E — Google review
A beautiful castle that’s worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood. It’s a good walk to reach the top.

Spectacular and unmissable. 10th century castle overlooking Soave and surrounding vineyards. Access is on a steep and pebbly path. Well preserved living quarters and knights armour are noteworthy.

Ancient castle from medieval age. We got a leaflet at the entrance that explained what you saw. Not so easy to follow but use Google as a complement! 👌

Beautiful castle - gives a great perspective of the city. We went in at noon after the break and were 2/6 people there the entire time. It felt like we had the castle to ourselves. Highly recommend. Just be aware of the lunch break.

The Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Bassanella holds a special place in the hearts of the people of Soave. Located in the village of Bassano, this humble structure dates back to the year 1000 and is associated with an apparition of the Virgin Mary in the Ponsara valley. The sanctuary houses a venerated statue of the Madonna and Child. The church was rebuilt in 1836 and features numerous sculptures, frescoes, and relics.

(Translated by Google) The Sanctuary is located just outside the walls of Soave (province of Verona) in a slightly higher position than the town from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding hills. It is a place of peace and prayer. During the Christmas period, a Nativity scene is set up in the adjacent cloister with living animals. The celebration of the Assumption of Mary in August is very evocative, during which the rosaries are recited outdoors in the churchyard. Northern Italian restaurant
Italian restaurant
Bigoleria Alla Rocca is a popular pasta place offering a wide variety of pasta types and an extensive menu with over 452 thousand sauce options. The restaurant provides excellent service, with English-speaking staff and reasonable prices. Customers can enjoy generous portions of delicious pasta for around 11 Euros per dish, with the option to add extra servings. The establishment is known for its fantastic homemade pasta, available with a diverse selection of sauces at the same price point.
A very good choice of pasta in the beautiful city of Soave. The bread was good and fresh and the cheese plate was tasty. My pasta with crab, zucchini, shrimps and bell pepper was a bit dry, pity. But it didn’t not ruin my whole impression. The cake “sporcacciona” is the absolute love! The restaurant was full by the way so better to book in advance. It was a bit hot inside too.
Maryna B — Google review
There were so many choices for pasta and sauces! It was overwhelming but we went with a classic and a special. The pasta dish was PLENTY and fantastic. Our Airbnb host recommended it. I would highly recommend and then go for a nice walk around town.
Nicolina R — Google review
Three different pasta dishes for our group. All were finely done and tasted very good . I’d would say the service was less than I expected. Overall a good experience.
Dan G — Google review
We stumbled on this restaurant today to break up a long drive back. We saw it was full of locals so went in and got the last table it seemed. We loved it! The pasta choice was vast, both dishes we chose were delicious. The staff were lovely and there was a great, familial atmosphere to the place. Delicious desserts too! Made a welcome change from tourist/expensive restaurants! Thank you 😄
Charlotte W — Google review
Very nice restaurant specialized in pasta and its sauces. Portions are large and food is excellent. Service was also nice and friendly. If in Soave you can't go wrong with having lunch or dinner here.
Sandro — Google review
There were way too many options on the menu, which made it hard to choose and gave the feeling that there was no clear specialty. The pasta I had was pretty average and I expected more based on the reviews. That said, the dessert was really good. The place also has a very cozy atmosphere and I’d recommend booking a table in advance since it’s often fully booked.
Sina B — Google review
The pasta is out of this world, so delicious. They were very friendly. We didn't have a reservation the first time but did the best they could to give us a table. So the next day we came back (with reservation). Great italian vibes.

Very nice local tavern. Perfect fresh pasta with many many choices. Polite and courteous service. Very big portions! We visited it, two times, the second was in the 31/12/2023 at New Year's celebration. It was a well prepared and more than honest menu. The people work there seems to love there job and the place. I love supporting this kind of businesses. It worth your visit 100%

Borgo Rocca Sveva is a massive modern winery and wine company run by 2200 local families, producing an impressive 30 million bottles of wine annually. The premises are vast, featuring a large conference center and inviting wine cellars that are definitely worth visiting. Visitors can enjoy informative tours and delightful wine tastings, with the opportunity to sample their renowned Amarone Rocca Sveva.
Wonderful Experience. We initially stopped by just to buy a few bottles, as we unfortunately arrived too late for a tasting or tour. However, Alberto was incredibly kind and welcoming. He took the time to explain the Soave wines to us and even offered tastings of the bottles we were interested in. We truly appreciated his patience and clear explanations. The wines are excellent—especially considering the price. Highly recommended!
Maria B — Google review
Great winery with unique blends and an interesting history. Definitely worth a visit and the prices on the tour were extremely reasonable. The best part is the wine shop that sells plenty of wines for prices at or below what you’d see in a store. No over inflation here. Our tour was great and we had a wonderful guide. She was very courteous and informative and even engaged with our children. I wish I could remember her name but she was extremely friendly. The only reason for the downgrade was for the guy working the desk. Apparently they begin Riposa at 1300 sharp. We had just spent €100 on a tour and were trying to spend a lot more on wine. However the gentleman checking us out was extremely impatient, short in his answers and overall very unpleasant to talk to. Once we paid, he whisked us out the door, refused to answer questions and then locked it behind us and turned off the lights. I know they opened later because our guide mentioned other tours that afternoon. It was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise great experience. It’s sad how one person can be so unwelcoming that it overshadows the rest of the good the place did. Overall I strong suggest swinging by if you can…just don’t come close to 1300.

What a beautiful experience! Rocca Sveva is one of a kind winery in the beautiful town of Soave. I had the privilege to visit the cellars and taste excellent wines of the region, Soave, Amarone, even a white Recioto and the unique spumante made in the champenoise way. A truly unique experience no to be missed while visiting Verona and its surrounding. Great the wine shop as well.

Locanda del Borgo is a fantastic establishment that offers delectable cuisine featuring well-chosen combinations and top-notch ingredients. The service provided is professional and knowledgeable, ensuring a delightful dining experience. The restaurant boasts a beautiful setting with a classic style that adds to the overall ambiance. While it's unfortunate that I was unable to assess the value for money during my visit as it was for a company dinner, Locanda del Borgo is highly recommended for its exceptional food and exquisite wine selection.
We had a reservation for dinner for our group of 10 adults and 5 children (1-5 years old). The service staff was very friendly, patient and attentive. The food was delicious. The ambiance is very chic. We had a great evening.

This place not only has an excellent wine shop but has the greatest food I have eaten in the Verona Soave area. Signora Maria is a wonderfully dedicated cook and her food is absolutely superb. I ate a great baccala' with polenta, goose prosciutto and the most fantastic brasato with mashed potatoes. The brasato had been cooked with Valpolicella Ripassato which is a great red wine produced by the Cantina di Soave. For wine lovers, excellent regional food and simply for "lovers"!

(Translated by Google) We stumbled upon this restaurant almost by chance thanks to a dinner with former colleagues, and we ate divinely. The appetizers are the highlight in terms of variety, quantity, and deliciousness. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality, quantity, and service. So we decided to host our daughter's baptism party here, and we received nothing but compliments from our guests. We chose to be a little daring with the truly unique first courses. The second course was a more traditional fillet steak with Amarone wine: it was tender and succulent, accompanied by carefully selected and delicious vegetables. The Durello Spumante and the Soave Castelcerino from the "associated" winery are, in my opinion, truly excellent. Martina, with her above-average courtesy and old-fashioned grace, oversaw the smooth running of the reception. We can only think of another opportunity to return... Italian restaurant
Il Drago is a remarkable eatery nestled within a majestic 14th-century palace that offers delectable pasta, traditional Veronese meat dishes, and locally crafted wines. The setting is exceptionally stunning, providing a visually pleasing ambiance. While the servings may be slightly smaller for the price, the cuisine itself is superb. However, some customers were not overly impressed with the wine selection and had higher expectations for such an establishment.
Stepping into Il Drago in Soave feels like stepping in to what you dream about as an authentic Italian dining experience. The picturesque view of the surrounding streetscape and the beauty of the space itself immediately makes you feel like something special might be on the cards. We decided to forego the main courses and indulge in four appetisers. They all looked good and sang out to us from the menu, and we already had dinner plans so didn’t want to fill up too early. All the dishes arrived in quick succession, they included: the warm smoked burrata with confit cherry, its creamy decadence elevated by the smokiness, it was a well executed dish. Then, the Cantabrian anchovies, the simplicity and quality showed the chef knows exactly what he is working with. Next was a Culatello di Soave (prosciuttificio masconale), it had a mustard, balsamic, and what I think were stewed apple pieces – the balance of flavours was spot on, unique and harmonious - the sweet, tangy, and savoury made this easily my favourite dish today. Finally, the octopus carpaccio, tender and zesty, I like the balance of the salad and enjoyed the inclusion of celery, it worked well with the octopus. We paired these dishes with a bottle of Soave Classico, a local wine that embodied the essence of the region with its crisp and aromatic profile. The restaurant prides itself on not serving fast food, as proudly declared by signs outside, and we were in a mood to relax into the leisurely pace having hiked the local hills earlier in the day.. The ambiance was a perfect blend of locals and tourists, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Our server, Jeide, was a lovely person, her English was very good, and her efforts to make our visit special did not go unnoticed. Il Drago does the simple things exceptionally and lets the quality of the food do the talking, even when they could rest on their laurels with such a beautiful space. I’m so glad we found it; and hope we get to come back soon.

The place is outstandingly beautiful. The food was excellent although the portion was on the smaller side for the price. İ wasn't terribly impressed with the wine. To be honest, İ had anticipated a better one at this place 🤷🏼. The staff was mostly extremely nice, friendly, and kind. One was a tad condescending, which İ found off putting and it sort of put a damper on an otherwise lovely experience

The staff here is the best. So helpful and kind. And the location is stunning. It (in fact the whole town) is surrounded by gorgeous lush vineyards. The variety of wines here (and it’s all about wine) is astounding. Many are new to me. If you like Prosecco, try the Dura. Different and delicious. The room, while small, has everything you need and is very modern. It’s a short walk into centro and up the hill to the castle. There are several restaurants in town. A bit more expensive than other regions. The breakfast is maybe the best we’ve had.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Monte Tondo, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Cantina Corte Mainente. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

Monte Tondo is a charming hotel located in a vineyard, offering various accommodation options and amenities such as an outdoor pool and wine tasting. The bed and breakfast is highly regarded and situated in a winery just outside the town walls. Additionally, there are other lodging options available nearby. The Monte Tondo Winery, known for its characteristic wines, is located amidst picturesque hills just outside the village.
We had a fantastic time with Chiara for a wine tasting! She was very knowledgeable, we didn’t have to ask any questions as she was very thorough. It was a small fun group and she had us laughing the majority of the time. During the tasting we were also presented with some meats and local cheeses. The meats were processed by the owner himself and melted in your mouth. (We ate every single thing) Highly recommend this winery and the Soave Superiore!

Very nice place to stay! Fantastic service, all explained in a serviceminded way and with a smile! 👍 We travelled with grown up children and had 2 double rooms. The rooms were clean and the toilet was big and luxurious! The pool area was nice, also some tables and chairs if you want to fix the meal yourself. There is wine at disposal both in the shop and in the room as well as in the common area. The wines are very good and excellent quality. It is possible to get wine tasting and a tour of the winery. The hotel is a 15-20 min walk to Soave. By car it is very close. There is a very nice supermarket in San Bonifacio where you can find all that you want! Very positive experience and the service was really good! Our best recommendations!

We loved the wine and the wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back to buy more wine. :)

The place was lovely and the woman that gave us the tour was really nice. That said, I have to point out that we saw a neglected dog. His fur was matted and he was left on a chain the whole day, I would urge the owners to remember that also animals need to be walked and taken care of… it was really sad to see as the dog could not move more then 1 m… he also was left next to this shed where there were boxes of chemicals with corrosive symbols on them

The Chiesa di San Giorgio is an exquisite example of Roman and medieval architecture that has been restored to its former glory by the talented architect Salgarelli. Every small detail of this ancient church, which was once a Franciscan convent, including the murals and rose window, has been beautifully preserved. It is truly a masterpiece that showcases the rich history of this period.

St. George Tower is a historic site with a north-facing main entrance, featuring an ancient drawbridge and a tower adorned with a bas-relief depicting the legendary tale of St. George and the dragon. I had the pleasure of visiting Cantina Corte Mainente, a marvelous winery, during an agriturismo tour of Soave. What stood out about this winery was their authentic and welcoming family approach to showing visitors around. They were incredibly generous in sharing their rich history and traditional winemaking techniques. I also had the opportunity to purchase some exceptional samples of their new Souve wines, Nettroire and Luna Nova dessert wine.
Couple years ago since we were here but never forgot this place. It was so lovely, charming family oriented winery with great tasting wines and very kind people. The tour was so relaxed, absolutely loved it! Still talking about this place and like to give these wines to our friends.

We went to this place at random and ended up walking out with 9 bottles of wine. This winery is beautiful and absolutely family friendly. The staff was incredible. Nice presentation of the grounds, how they produce the wine and their history. The wine is very good and very reasonably priced. Some of the best I've had in Soave. If you are in the area it is 100 percent worth stopping by. I will definitely going back and making sure my cellar is stocked with their wines.

Very friendly staff, nice quaint family owned winery and atmosphere. The owner Ugo was very kind and offered me to try some wines even without a reservation. The wines are organic and they have a very good range of different expressions of their different terroirs in Soave. Wish I had more room in my suitcase as the wines are very good quality and stunning.

Ohmigosh, I can’t recommend enough. Driving from Venice to Lake Garda, I saw we were passing near Soave and forced my husband to take the unexpected detour! Found this place on Google, had no reservation, no plan, and yet we had the best experience today. Definitely call in advance for reservations, they typically do a full tour and tasting but at certain times I think. The place was empty when we arrived, so we were confused. But luckily a man came outside and asked if we needed help! He turned out to be Davide, grandson of the winery founder! He and his brother run the winery, and Davide was so so sweet and easy to talk to. Despite no reservation, he welcomed us in and let us do a free small tasting anyway! Completely casual, and it felt so special. We are American, and his English was very good and we had a great conversation. Better yet - the wine is phenomenal! Davide is of course very knowledgeable about all of the wine, the wine process, and the locations history. We tried 3 wonderful Soaves, ranging from younger to a reserve bottle. Everything is so cheap here, bottles ranged from 6.50 euro to maybe 14 or so? For the quality, it was awesome. We plan to go back and buy a case to bring home! If you are nearby, for sure come check this out! Great experience. 👍

Pizzeria Acquario SOAVE offers excellent cuisine with a slightly confusing menu and prices. However, the overall experience is remarkable, only requiring minimal adjustments to the cost. The pizza and wine selection are exceptional, although their red wine supply was unfortunately depleted during one visit. Nevertheless, the quality of food remains fantastic. This Italian eatery provides delicious pizza at reasonable rates, attracting customers repeatedly over consecutive days.
Had dinner and tried the margarita pizza and a cocktail. We did not have a reservation, but did not have to wait long despite how busy they were (10-15 min). The space is cozy, but if don’t like tight spaces you can sit on the balcony with a wonderful view of Soave Castello. This restaurant has an assortment of dough types to choose from. Pizza is the primary menu item.
Michael M — Google review
I recently dined at Pizzeria Acquario in Soave and had an overall pleasant experience. From the street we saw the beautiful balcony space and thought it would be lovely to sit outside and have a pizza and watch the sunset. Unfortunately, it was not open for seating on the night of our visit. The ambiance upstairs inside was still nice, and you could still step out onto the balcony for a photo of the sunset or some fresh air with lovely views. We tried two pizzas: the Capricciosa and the Gustosa. Both pizzas had nice, thin bases with generous toppings. While the flavors were okay, they didn't particularly stand out in any way. The restaurant has a definite franchise feel, and not just because the menu is a book full of pictures of each of the pizzas. Like most pizza chains, they don’t seem super focused on using fresh local ingredients, or doing anything exceptionally well, but they pump out the food quickly and the food and drinks aren’t expensive, and everything we had was satisfactory. The service was friendly and efficient, which is always a positive note to an experience. They give you an electronic call button for drinks and the bill. The staff came quickly when you pushed the button. Despite the good points, there are better pizza places nearby (I loved Scaligera, which is close by). In Australia, Acquario would be considered a "cheap and cheerful" restaurant, and it seemed popular with some locals, which is usually a good sign. We can all feel like a cheap and easy meal where we can point at a picture of what we want to eat some nights. It fit the bill for us, we didn’t want to spend a lot or think too much. It's a nice place with a lovely view, making it worth a visit if you can get a table with some friends and a wine out on the balcony on a night when it's open - I think that would be fun.
Jay S — Google review
Terrible experience. The worker with shorter hair is rude and impudent towards tourists. Inhospitable. She talked to us about the reservation as if we were children and not 3 adults. We used to visit a pizzeria last year when we were on vacation and the pizza is ok, but better food and friendlier staff for the same price can be found 300m away. Horrible, if you are a tourist bypass in a wide circle. And the lady (the waitress) should train a little on how to behave.
Nela K — Google review
They made a menü with photos but the reality is far from it. There is nearly no product on the pizza. For real i dont understand not even average. Nestled in the heart of the medieval village of Soave, Cantina del Castello is a hidden gem that offers an enchanting experience for wine lovers. This charming winery produces a limited selection of wines, including the 2009 Soave Classico DOC, crafted from 90% Garganega and 10% Trebbiano di Soave. The latter grape is renowned for its high acidity and is one of the most widely planted varieties globally.
We visited on a friday afternoon in September as part of a tour organized by Pagus Wine Tours. Our guide Stephanie was very informative and funny. They poured a sparkling, two still whites and a dessert wine. Cute cellars and anice spread of cheeses and snacks.

We had the best time on our wine tasting and tour here! We were able to book a private tasting, and the family delivered! We were given a tour of the grounds, where they answered all of our questions regarding their wine, their process, and their grounds. As the only winery still within the walls of Soave, it had a unique ambiance you can’t get anywhere else - and the tasting concludes in an 800-year-old cellar!

The Duomo di San Lorenzo Martire in Soave is a church that commands reverence, being constructed during the period ranging from the 18th to the late 19th century. Its interior, although not extensively illuminated, exudes a unique and captivating atmosphere. The Baroque style it embodies truly shines through with its focal point being the altar that radiates light and becomes the center of attention.
Beautiful church beyond the level of the town.

(Translated by Google) Before the 14th century it stood in the San Lorenzo district, to which it is dedicated. Two plaques preserved in the Civic Museum of Verona prove this. Demolished, it was then rebuilt in 1303 in the place where it now appears in all its monumentality. Demolished in 1744 because it was too narrow, in 1758 it was rebuilt with the help of the Municipality and the people. It was then enlarged in 1884 based on a design by the architect Abbot Gottardi. Gottardi himself carried out the restoration of the Renaissance style façade, with Ionic columns and a staircase in red Verona marble. The temple has a nave, with baroque altars and valuable paintings. The most important altarpiece is that of Francesco Morone, the most illustrious Veronese painter of the century. XVI; it depicts San Rocco, the Virgin enthroned with the child, San Joachim and the Eternal Father in the lunette. Other valuable works are those of the painters: Farinati (16th century), Cignaroli (18th century), Ugolini (19th century), Nalin (19th century) and Mattielli (20th century). Also noteworthy is the statue sculpted by the Venetian Paolo Cahanpsa in 1553, representing the Redeemer. The bell tower, in classical style with three-lancet windows, was built based on a design by Luigi Trezza. In addition to the works of art, the majestic and beautiful organ built in 1889 by the Englishman Giorgio Trice is worth seeing. The solemn power of its sound means that sacred music concerts are often held in the church.

Cantina Coffele is an excellent establishment that offers a delightful atmosphere and helpful staff. The wine tasting experience is highly enjoyable, featuring a diverse assortment of wines at reasonable prices. Visitors can expect to find a wide range of high-quality wines available for purchase. The knowledgeable staff provides valuable information about the different types of wines on offer, ensuring an informative and satisfying experience. Additionally, the winery's sparkling wines are particularly pleasing to the palate.
The best Soave wine, for sure. The excellent ambience of the building from the 17th century, which houses a tasting room, a wine shop and a museum of old wine-making machines. Talking with the hosts is a special pleasure, but if you are lucky enough to meet one of the owners - Chiara Coffele, as happened to us, you will forget all other varieties of Italian wines...

Visiting the Coffele winery in Soave has been an unforgettable experience. From the very first moment, one can perceive the simplicity and love with which each vine is cared for, a commitment to the land that translates into exceptional wines. One of the great values of the visit was the warmth and hospitality of Chiara, one of the owners, who welcomed us with a smile and took us to tour the vineyards with admirable dedication. Her knowledge and enthusiasm brought every detail of the winemaking process to life, conveying her passion with every explanation. Thanks to her, we not only understood the art behind each bottle, but felt the true essence of Coffele. The highlight moment came with the tasting, where we had the privilege of trying their wonderful wines. Among them, the Nuj wine stood out for its exquisite flavor and unique character. Its complex and well-balanced taste left us completely enchanted, a true gem that reflects dedication and care that this winery puts into every creation. If there is one downside to this experience, it is that we cannot buy their wines in Spain, which leaves us with the desire to return to Soave or find a way to get them to us. Without a doubt, Coffele deserves to be present in more corners of the world because their wine is a true work of art. If you are looking for an authentic and enriching experience in the world of wine, Coffele in Soave is a must-visit. A place where tradition and love for viticulture come together to offer an unforgettable experience. We will definitely return! 🍷✨

Palazzo Cavalli, a Venetian-Gothic style palace built in 1411, stands near Piazza dell'Antenna. Named after Nicolo Cavalli, the Captain of Soave, this picturesque building was once adorned with magnificent frescoes from the 1400s on its front facade. However, over time these artworks have been lost to the ages. Today, Palazzo Cavalli remains a striking example of Venetian architecture and history.

I had a fantastic evening at LOsteria! I requested a wine tasting and the owner provided an excellent improvised experience where I learned about Soave and Valpolicella wines, with Amarone being my favorite. These renowned regions were showcased wonderfully, alongside a delicious antipasti platter, local pastas, and meats. We dined in a well-furnished yet traditional basement setting that added to the special atmosphere. The pricing was also very reasonable.
Delicious, homey. Luxurious and yet comfy. If I have guests in town I bring them here. If I have clients who need to stop for dinner or lunch after seeing me, I send them here. The staff is young and passionate both about the food and wine combinations. 10/10 would recommend

As starter we choose a cheese selection. It was served with pear and onion marmalade. For mains, we asked for bigoli with lime and anchovy and gnocchi di ricotta. Both were good but the time waiting for the mains was a bit excessive. For dessert we asked for homemade tiramisu. It was delicious. As beverage, we asked for two wine glasses. The place was really nice.

Enoteca Del Soave is an exceptional discovery, offering a wealth of knowledge on the region, wines, grapes, and soils. The owner, Paula, is passionate about educating visitors and provides a delightful experience. With an impressive variety of wines available by the glass and delectable tasting boards, it's the perfect place to explore local wine and cheese. Conveniently located in the town center with both indoor and outdoor seating options, it caters to diverse preferences.
This charming enoteca offers a delightful selection of local Soave wines, with the Cantina del Castello winery conveniently located just behind. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with a genuine small-town feel. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but even I could appreciate the exceptional quality of the DOC wines they offer. At only €3 a glass, it's a steal! I opted for the first wine on the menu and was blown away by its refreshing taste. It's the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing aperitivo. We were so impressed by our first visit to this enoteca that we returned just two days later during the Festa dell'Uova Soave. This time, we decided to try their special wine tasting, which featured three glasses of different Soave wines from Cantina del Castello for only €10. Even though we had already enjoyed a couple of glasses in Verona, the quality of the wines here was exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't experience any hangover the following days, which is a testament to the high quality of the grapes and the winemaking process. If you're a wine lover visiting the area, this enoteca is a must-visit. The friendly staff, delicious wines, and charming atmosphere make it a truly memorable experience.

It could be better, but unfortunately the waiter (owner?) was quite rude and aggressive, probably thinking to be funny. There's a nice selection of local wines. Hot food is decent but the plates of cured meats look good.

We were very disappointed with our experience here. We asked for water for our well-behaved, quiet dog and was refused. We gave her some water ourselves and it was taken away. When we asked why, we were told it was “not their problem.” The staff — a middle-aged woman with black thinning hair and a tall, bald man with a long beard — were extremely unfriendly. Drinks and food were mediocre at best. We will not be returning and do not recommend this place to others.

What a wonderful find. The owner knows so much about the area, the wines, the grapes, the soils and she is so enthusiastic about teaching you. What a wonderful lady, a great selection of wines by the glass and she does delicious fresh tasting boards

I think the toilet sums up our experience. In 2025, I think it’s fair to say that this type of toilet is unacceptable - especially given the increase in accessibility legislation and inclusivity. I returned from my adventure to the lavatory and requested a bowl of water for our dog - something which we’ve actually never had to ask for so far in Italy, Austria nor Czechia - it was always provided without asking. I received a short bark of a reply which I assumed meant “I’m sorry we don’t cater for dogs.” For context, we’re seated outside in 25°C. We improvised and I filled a glass with some of the bottled water and allowed our dog to drink. No sooner had the water been exhaled by our thirsty dog, the waitress came storming out and snatched the glass off the ground stating that “It’s not my problem your dog is thirsty!” I just don’t think there’s any need for this type of attitude in 2025.

The dining experience at Antica Trattoria da Amedeo is exceptional, with all dishes carefully prepared and the seafood particularly impressive. The restaurant offers a diverse menu in multiple languages, and it is recommended to try their wine and beer selection. The starters are delicious but slightly greasy. They also offer various pasta options, including tuna and mixed seafood varieties. The taste overall is decent, and the prices are surprisingly affordable considering the quality of food offered.
Fantastic Restaurant in Soave! Excellent service, exciting dishes. Dog friendly restaurant. Makes their own wine, which is delicious and we bought 4 bottles to take with us. The Crab appetizer was out of this world. Husband has tried Tiramisu all over Italy and claimed this to be one of the best. My Mousse dessert was also incredible. Just the Italian eating experience one would hope to have!

We were recommended this restaurant on a spontaneous trip to Soave. The food was delicious, especially the sea food and it goes without saying that the wine selection was always going to be fantastic in such a famous region. Just going on the service and atmosphere you’d think the prices would be much higher. Restaurants like this are the reason Italy is so beloved!

This was my first trip to this restaurant, but even the plates that I saw for other people looked amazing. I don't think you could go wrong w/anything you ordered. Lovely place, it’s really sad that food was not good at all. Fried mixed fish heavy, it seems that oil was not fresh, mussels lake of taste and cold, pasta with tuna fish worst I had. Waitresses were polite though but even if we complained about the food, didn’t get any attention.

La Bottega del Vino is a hidden gem that truly embodies the warmth and hospitality of Italian dining. During my visit in early October, I was greeted with a friendly smile from the waitress as I settled in for an aperol spritzer and a delightful glass of local wine. The ambiance inside was charming, making it the perfect setting to enjoy their exquisite roast beef salad and mixed meat skewer paired with pickled vegetables.
Visited at 3pm on a Saturday, typically most restaurants in Italy are closed at this time. Kitchen open all hours. Had the Roast beef with vegetables and Tortellini fatti in casa...Absolutely delicious. Paired with a glass of Soave classico. Appears pricey but honestly well worth the cost. Very surprised by the low rating. Highly recommended.

Came early October and we were warmly welcomed by the waitress. Over an apérol spritzer and a fresh glass of the local wine (delicious) we decided to eat here as it was getting late. Moving inside to a beautiful restaurant we decided on the roast beef and veggies and the mixed meat. The roast beef was a cold beef salad which was just amazing and the mixed meat was a delicious skewer with pickled vegetables. The presentation was lovely and the food was superb and very filling, enormous portions so make sure you’re hungry. Meal for two, with apéros was just over €40. Our two dogs were fussed over and enjoyed their time at the restaurant as well. We can highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you

The two of us had to wait 45 min for our food after ordering. After i asked what is happening, they told me that we all arrived at the same time and that it is impossible to serve everyone. No sorry, nothing. During our stay someone else complained about bad wine, and another one for waiting 30+ min for ham plate (how long does it take to do that). So incompetent, avoid!

Today, I had the opportunity to visit a wine producer called Pieropan in the charming town of Soave. This winery left a lasting impression on me due to its breathtaking setting, offering a picturesque view of the Castle and the rolling hills that surround it. The knowledgeable and polite staff added to the overall experience. While I didn't personally taste their wines, my clients expressed their satisfaction. It's worth noting that Pieropan is renowned for its exceptional white wines from Soave.
The most impressive winery I’ve had the pleasure of touring so far. The attention to detail that the pieropan family had in creating their winery is remarkable. This translated to an awesome tour & our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. The passion she had for the winery was evident. The wine tasting complemented the experience - both were fantastic. Highly recommend the tour & a magnum of La Rocca to go!

Today we had such a great wine tour in the beautiful hills of Soave at Pieropan! The building itself is brand new, and looked truly amazing on the in- and outside. The hostess took us through the history of Pieropan, and after that we had a tour through the whole wine process. At last we had wine tasting, of the original wines of Pieropan. The hostess was absolutely nice, she also mentioned she just started English from this January. But her English was very good and she spoke it fluently, my compliments to that! Thank you so much again, for the amazing tour!

In the heart of Soave stands the Palazzo di Giustizia, a stunning Gothic building dating back to 1375. Originally commissioned by Cansignorio della Scala, it has undergone various renovations while retaining its timeless beauty. The palace now houses a wine bar on the ground floor and a section of Verona's law court on the upper floors. Admire the intricate details of this historical landmark, including a balcony adorned with a sculpture by artist Bruno Lucchi.

Winery
Azienda Agricola di Graziano Prà, located in Italy, offers a unique and exceptional wine tasting experience. Visitors have praised the courtesy, professionalism, and availability of the hosts. The winery is known for its exceptional wines and top-notch service. Guests have enjoyed private tastings with knowledgeable staff who shared insights about the wines and the production process. The company's commitment to environmental sustainability has also been highlighted by visitors.
Couldn't recommend PRA and Cristina, who hosted us, highly enough. Roadworks meant we were about an hour late for our booking, but Cristina still took the time to take the three of us through a private tasting, even getting some of the specific vintage of the Amarone that had brought me to PRA. The wines are exceptional and the service is even better.

(Translated by Google) beautiful winery. At first there was a friendly reception, but unfortunately the owner distanced himself - we have experienced this before. Wines predominantly taste of a very high level. We were only confronted with the prices after the tasting. To our negative surprise, these are well above the usual retail prices (20-40%) Unfortunately, we found this to be a bit excessive. People are happy to pay a euro or two more for a meal because the experience is part of it. But this also has its limits in terms of price. When we politely confronted the lady about the exorbitant prices, the atmosphere became noticeably colder, which we found to be a shame, as we would certainly have taken one or two more bottles with us if we had been more accommodating. They wanted to reassure us that the wines are usually not available cheaper online. The owners don't seem to know that some of their wines are listed at Jaques Weindepot (at least -20% below the winery) Unfortunately it wasn't a positive experience. Wines 4 stars / winery 2 stars. Weine 4 Sterne / Weingut 2 Sterne.

The food at Bacco Per Bacco Wine Food is incredibly tasty! The service is quick and attentive without being overwhelming. The portions are large and the dishes are all outstanding. For just 30, you can enjoy a fantastic deal that includes wine with each course, as well as an abundance of delicious, fresh, and visually pleasing food. There's so much food that you likely won't be able to finish it all, but it's all absolutely mouthwatering!

We went here for an anniversary meal, and whilst we were the only people there on a quiet Monday night, our experience was perfect. We had the chef’s menu- loved the surprise element of it (with some ingredients we didn’t guess). Accompanying wines were fantastic (and all local), and the service was friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Very memorable and would highly recommend!

The restaurant is amazing, starting from decoration, ambience to the service and food, there aren’t enough words to gracefully explain how good this restaurant is. The service was amazing and the food spotless, the lady server was unbelievably helpful and accommodating on our taste, they put together plates just for us, I felt that I was at home, her English was amazing and you know how rare that is in Italy lol. You can’t miss it, this is the place to enjoy homemade food, off-course if you are in the area. 5*

Pleasant evening out. We had fish and the quality was outstanding although they overdid the quantity of vegetables in our main dish and that made the taste of fish an afterthought. The starter was exceptional, see picture. I would have liked it if there was a menu but there wasn't one so the bill was a surprise although expected if someone knows the overall pricing for such a meal. The dessert also wasn't up to the standard set during the whole meal and they didn't even have a dessert based with lemon or citruses, shame as it would have been perfect for a fish based meal. To give an idea, for a meal without wine (as we don't drink alcoholic beverages) and for: a starter for 2, a main dish each and a dessert for 1 we paid over 130 euros.

Accommodation is quiet and enjoyed our stay. During our stay in the Hotel, we took the time to stop in for an amazing seafood lunch as well. We started the meal with two succulent Gò de Fasolari oysters, these were recommended by the wait staff and if you like oysters definitely worth trying. They matched well with our Gin and Tonic starter drinks as did the white anchovies, bathed in the restaurants unique herb and oil blend. I’m enjoying trying different styles of anchovies in Italy and the ones here were light and worked super well on the bread, and I definitely mopped up the oil too. The roast octopus was nice and I liked how it was done. For lunch, we got the two available pasta dishes. One was tagliolini with red prawn tartare, lime butter and mullet bottarga. The second was a spaghettoni with clams and mullet bottarga. Both pasta dishes were amazing, the depth of umami flavour with the creamy pasta was spot on, the bottarga's rich, savoury notes made each mouthful better and I’m keen to explore this ingredient more as we travel Italy. Paired with another crisp Soave Classico. The flavours were profoundly simple and I mean it as high praise for chefs who understand their ingredients. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The experience of sharing meals with people you love in places like this are unforgettable memories for our future selves. Wander in, take a seat and let your palate savour the plates of well prepared dishes.

(Translated by Google) Very nice path/walk in the Soave area.🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🍇🌴. We left Soave from Via Mondello as found in an internet guide and I must say that I share the opinion that it is better to start from there. The first half of the walk is beautiful because it passes through vineyards with paths, while the second half is a bit of a flaw because it is almost entirely on asphalt and under the sun. It's a shame we didn't find any open cellars to try wine in when we were there. The route is almost always clearly marked with yellow signs except when you pass through the city halfway along the route where you have to be careful for a moment by keeping to the left. It takes about 3 hours and is about 9/10 km. If you leave from Soave there are several free car parks. ✅So absolutely recommended path but be careful to do the second piece in the heat/sun.

Balestri Valda winery offers an exceptional tasting experience combined with a tour of their cellar and vineyard. This family-run business showcases a profound passion for nature and the local territory, making it a must-visit destination for those interested in discovering Soave. Highly recommended, this winery provides an authentic and sincere wine tour that stands out among other experiences in the area. Visitors will be delighted by the genuine atmosphere and can also learn about how to purchase more of their excellent wines.
We dropped in without reservation and got the most authentic, honest, best tasting tour we got during our stay in Soave! Many thanks, keep up the good work! And please let us know how to buy more of your great wine!

Great experience visiting Balestri Valda winery. Federico was super welcoming and explained every details from how the grapes were grown specifically in this region of Soave, to showing us the cellar and the differences in vinification. Their focus on quality & authentic winemaking and respectful agriculture really shows in their wine. The Libertate wine (100% Trebbiano) was particularly interesting and original. If you have 1 winery to visit in Soave, you can't go wrong with Balestri Valda (and the view from the area is amazing in the evening)

(Translated by Google) First of all: In my opinion, the wine from Balestri Valda is excellent! The two of us spontaneously visited the winery and wanted to try the wine. Since a tasting with four other people was planned, we were invited to participate. We were given a short tour of the wine cellar and then were able to sample five wines, an olive oil, and honey from the winery. Water and breadsticks were served with it. Since the wine was really delicious and we were convinced by the principle of organic viticulture, we bought the wine and olive oil for around €200. When paying, the winery employee told us that there would be an additional €70 for the tasting, making a total of €270. The price was quite surprising, as we're not used to this from other wineries in Veneto. Well, we could have asked beforehand... Nevertheless, this circumstance mars an otherwise great experience. What a shame. Schade.

Wines prepared with care and passion, excellent in quality and more than honest prices. Federico, who guided us on the visit, was very prepared and attentive at every stage of the journey, making us explore the entire estate from the vineyard to the cellar. They also produce excellent oil and honey, encouraging the biodiversity of the area. I 100% recommend visiting this small company in the historic Soave area. Really good place! I certainly recommend it!! The service was excellent, the lady there which I think was the owner was extremely nice, helped us order and gave us some free stuff until food was ready! Beautiful view as well and the most important, delicious food!!!

By far, this place deserves 5 star all the way. Best Italian food and the most authentic experience we’ve had on our road trip from Paris, to Venice. The place overlooks dreamy vineyards, Italian landscape at its best, the staff is so gracious and nice. We had some of the best food here, every bit of it and I don’t think we’ve ever had a more sumptuous affair with food as we did here. Highly recommended and we sure hope to return next time we are in Italy.

No English menu, poor service, the food is flat. We have order lasagna and it was disappointing, we also order tartar and when we want to order bread they don't have more. Price are high considering the taste. Location is good.

Fantastic! Great service, great staff, interesting variety of options. Everything was amazing. The blueberry pasta and black truffle carbona are not to be missed! The steak with the black truffle sauce and tortolini were really good too. Can't go wrong having an awesome lunch here under the Soave castle.

This location was recommended by a local. Very friendly atmosphere with one of the waitresses being able to translate the menu into English. Very authentic Italian food with local house wine available which was smooth and delicious. We had a black truffle pasta dish. that was amazing. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Get there early if you don’t have a reservation.

A real "off the beaten path" genuine Italian restaurant. This is our second year of deliberately diverting to eat here. The menu is in Italian and there are not that many dishes to pick from; however, this is a locals place and everything is delicious. Be warned, if you don't "parle italiano" you might have difficulty ordering unless our favorite bilingual waitress is there. Even still, do it for the experience!
