Lovely plan d'eau, with shop/restaurant, climbing wall, pedalos. Very clean and friendly lifeguards. The water is beautifully clear, great shallow area for kids to paddle. Also up to 2.5m depth for doing some proper swimming. Lovely views too what more do you want?

Big place, the water was freezing cold, but we tried to make the best of it. In overall it’s very nice to swim!

Very nice open air pool. Clear water, soft grass to lie on. Children can play in the shallow part, bit there is also a deep part.

The staff at the House Alexandra David-Néel museum are well-prepared and delightful. The atmosphere of the place is fantastic, and the museum itself is well-structured, offering a captivating journey into the world of A.D.N. Although her house was not yet open for visitation, it is still worth a visit due to its historical significance in the city. The people encountered during the visit were pleasant, and the story behind the museum is truly fascinating.
Staff super prepared and very lovely. The place has a great vibe. The museum is well organized, a magic dive into A.D.N.‘s world. Her house is worth the visit.

An exceptional place (museum and home) of an exceptional woman who was a feminist and an adventure traveller before her time. The house visit is a must, as it is a guided tour led by a very knowledgeable and passionate lady, who not only knows her stuff but you can tell that she likes what she does. Brilliant.

(Translated by Google) For those unfamiliar with this site and especially the story of this woman, it's an absolute must-see. But it's crucial to thoroughly visit the museum before visiting the house to fully understand the personality and life story of this extraordinary woman. The house tour is unique, as you can wander freely without any barriers. You truly experience the house as it was in Alexandra's time.

(Translated by Google) We took the guided tour of the author's house. We had a wonderful time; it was informative and captivating. The anecdotes and biographical details blended perfectly with the presentation of this place, so special to Alexandra David-Neel. The tour is suitable for a young audience (ages 7 and up). Reading the graphic novel about her life can enhance the experience. (Translated by Google) A must-see! The visit to Alexandra David-Néel's home is a wonderful discovery. I discovered a woman far ahead of her time who knew, and was able to, achieve her dreams 😊 It took a strong character and a lot of audacity. The museum tour is self-guided and very well documented. In May 2025, an exhibition dedicated to Japan completed the tour. The visit to her home requires a reservation and is only for groups of 8 people maximum. (Original) À découvrir ! The Aquatic Center Hot Waters is a fantastic facility with excellent amenities and friendly staff. It prioritizes safety by requiring valid Covid certificates. Even during weekdays in late August, it is not overly crowded, allowing for a peaceful experience. The parking spaces are ample and reasonably priced. Visitors have the option to bring their own food and enjoy outdoor activities like sunbathing and table tennis. Additionally, the center boasts an Olympic pool, jacuzzi, and six standard lanes with a depth of 2.
very nice place for both adult and children. There are 6 standard lane with 2.6m depth. The area for children&family are extensive with very good facilities (water slide, pool, bubble bath, mini water falls, etc). Highly recommend to every one. One suggestion is the bench for cloth change is bit narrow.

In the heat of summer, it is always nice to have this type of aquatic center to cool down and have fun.

Good place, nice equipments, the staff is helping and welcoming. Covid safe (you need to show a valid certificate). Not so crowded in late Aug during weekdays. Lot of space to park your car (some are not free but very cheap) you can bring your food and enjoy sunbath outdoor with table tennis and there is also an olympic pool and a jacuzzi.

The open air museum, La Dalle aux Ammonites, may have limited space but serves as a starting point for numerous hiking trails. The information provided is in English and is both clear and captivating. There is free parking available for visitors. While it may not be worth going out of your way to visit, it's a good stop if you happen to be passing by. It is advisable to avoid visiting on hot days.

Nestled in the picturesque Digne-les-Bains, Restaurant du Lac offers a dining experience that is as delightful as its stunning lakeside setting. Guests are greeted by a warm and attentive team, creating an inviting atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The shaded terrace provides a perfect spot to enjoy your meal while soaking in the beautiful views. The menu features dishes crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring each plate is not only delicious but also beautifully presented.
(Translated by Google) Very pleasant setting (lake), shaded terrace, fast service (a very good point for me, but remember to ask for a slower service if you want to take your time) and excellent food, both in terms of presentation and cooking. The staff is pleasant and professional. A little stingy with the size of the quarter of red wine (see photo) won't detract from the well-deserved 5 stars. Remember to make a reservation as the service is always full (the price of success?)

The friendly atmosphere immediately put us at ease. As for the meal, it was a real treat! Each dish was prepared with remarkable attention to detail and quality. Even our 3- and 4-year-old daughters told the chef, "The meal was made with a lot of love, because it's so, so good!" And they were right! All this in a magnificent setting, where every detail contributes to an even more memorable experience. A big thank you to the entire team for this magnificent culinary experience. (Translated by Google) This morning, we went to the lakeside restaurant for coffee. We wanted to sit down, but they refused, claiming it was the restaurant's reserved area—and this at 10:00 a.m. However, other people were already seated at tables with coffees. The woman offered us takeaway coffee, but after almost 10 minutes of waiting, while the man chatted and pretended to clean up, we received no service. All this simply because we're foreigners. I'm disgusted, because this isn't the first time this woman has refused to offer me coffee on the premises. This is unacceptable. So we left without a drink.

L'Étoile Pub is a charming spot nestled in the heart of Digne, perfect for those looking to enjoy a delightful outing with friends or family. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal place for lunch or a casual evening. Guests rave about the quality of food, from crispy chicken salads to Parmesan gnocchi, all served with warm hospitality.
Very nice place for lunch! Good food, great in both quality and quantity. Good selection of beers as well. Friendly service. On a busy road and crossing, but I didn't find that too bothersome.
Danny B — Google review
Seems like a popular place for locals. Limited food options. We ordered the 4 * mini burgers which came with fries and some lettuce. The burgers were pretty tasty. The fries didn't have much substance just fried edges without much potato inside. A table next to us ordered the platter with cold meats, cheese, pickles. It looked pretty good. The service was nice. We arrived 7.30pm and sat outside. There were quite a few flies around at that time, so we had to keep swatting them away from the food. Waitresses friendly and helpful and tried to be helpful with English translation. Burgers were E19 which did seem a bit pricey for a pub meal in local town. Outside was full of locals when we left at 8.00pm

Went for lunch and it was excellent. A warm welcome and friendly service throughout. The crispy chicken salad was very good, as was the Parmesan gnocchi. They were kind to let my daughter swap out the boule de glacé for a hot chocolate as it was a miserable day! The café mignardise was perfect to finish. The interior is cosy too. Highly recommended!

We went after 8, so they only served tapas. We tried fried calamari, mini burgers and cheese sandwich. Good taste. The beer was also nice, it was a blonde lager from the area. Prices kind of high for such a forgotten place. 6 eur per pint, the same as in Lyon. The French are a bit exaggerated with the prices for food and drinks. Cut it down!

Ten of us ate here. By and large the meal was OK however one of the party had Lasagne which was burnt beyond edible. As usual in France the customer is always wrong and staff very surly before eventually agreeing to change the dish.

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with UNESCO Géoparc de Haute-Provence - Musée Promenade, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Cathédrale Notre-Dame-du-Bourg. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Speaking as an American this museum was deeply underwhelming. If your town or city has even a basic natural history museum it’s likely better than what this has to offer. If this place was free why not wander through but the fee makes it deeply skippable.

Gorgeous walking sculpture garden embedded in a geologically fascinating hillside. A little steep but broken by plenty of zig zags. Great variety of modern interpretations of what landscape sculpture should be. A magic place for young children in families. Facilities are a bit light on but the views are to die for. Unfortunately a fair hike from public transport. Do bother with the exhibition Hall at the beginning of the trail as it explains some of the background.

Cairn, foyer d'art contemporain is located within the Promenade Museum in Digne-les-Bains. Visitors can explore new art exhibitions inside the museum and also enjoy a peaceful walk through outdoor installations. The site offers beautiful natural surroundings with waterfalls and scenic views. While some visitors feel that there could be more "land art" works, they appreciate the geological museum dedicated to the natural park.

(Translated by Google) The site has real potential due to its vegetation, its configuration, its waterfalls, its panoramas... but we remain a little unsatisfied in terms of the "land art" works that we would like to be more numerous and spectacular. The exhibition during my visit, in the reception room, was a little too elitist and difficult to understand. A special mention all the same for the museum on the heights dedicated to the geology of the natural park...it is ultra complete and very technical and equipped with real resources. Nestled in the heart of Digne-les-Bains, the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-du-Bourg stands as a stunning testament to Romanesque architecture, with its origins tracing back to the 11th and 13th centuries. This historic monument boasts a unique single nave complemented by four expansive bays, creating an inviting atmosphere for visitors. The cathedral's crypt is particularly noteworthy, offering a glimpse into its rich history and architectural significance.
(Translated by Google) Frankly, seen from the outside...... It's a place of worship, you wouldn't break a leg to see it. But from the inside, we see more grandeur, we see the centuries of life of the building. On the other hand, the basement, UNIQUE, this crypt is a well of knowledge and knowledge. We could also extend this crypt further under the city. In places like this, I always try to imagine the people who entered there, who participated in the construction of the successive place(s) that were built there. These people are in history, real people, they have achieved something great. Even (and it's a shame) if they don't know it! (Translated by Google) The construction of Notre-Dame du Bourg Cathedral dates back to the late 12th and early 13th centuries. It was built in the direct line of a succession of Christian buildings that were established, uniquely, on a pagan necropolis. It was erected on the foundations of a primitive 5th-century basilica, in the heart of the ancient city, at a time when the area was already depopulated. Indeed, as early as the 10th century, the population of Digne began to move to the Bellegarde plateau, to better protect themselves from attacks and invasions. The Bourg district was then abandoned in favor of the upper town, sheltered by the bishop's castle. Isolated and unprotected, Notre-Dame du Bourg Cathedral suffered looting and damage. Its use was gradually reduced from the 14th century onward, serving almost exclusively for funeral ceremonies until the 20th century. While the Saint-Jérôme church located in the new town became a replacement building and was recognized as co-cathedral in 1962. Built in Romanesque style with regular schist edging, a local material, the Notre-Dame du Bourg Cathedral is imposing in its size and its architecture with its sober and majestic lines. Its unique barrel-vaulted nave underlines its uniqueness, as do the paintings dating from 1480 that adorn it. Excavated by Gabrielle Démians d'Archimbaud, an archaeologist and professor of medieval history at the University of Arts and Humanities of Aix-en-Provence, and restored by Francesco Flavigny, chief architect of historic monuments during the 1980s and 1990s, it now houses part of the Archaeological Crypt and an entire liturgical ensemble created by a contemporary artist, David Rabinowitch. It has been restored as a cathedral since 1996.

We stayed at this hotel and had lunch there. Hotel was as to be expected for a budget hotel. Where this place excelled was in their restaurant. We were both blown away with the creativity and quality of the food and the service. Worth a visit for sure and even worth a slight detour to get there.

The food itself isn't bad, but it's fairly standard and lacks a bit of flavor, except for the French toast, which is delicately seasoned with cinnamon. All in all, it's a very good value for money. Hiking Trails
Located in the Geological Reserve of Haute-Provence, Via Ferrata du Rocher de Neuf Heures is a thrilling adventure in Digne-les-Bains, Alpes de Haute-Provence. The route offers breathtaking views and is marked as fairly difficult to difficult. Visitors can rent via ferrata gear from the Digne tourism office and receive instructions before embarking on a 30-minute hike to the start of the course.
The walk up to the start isn't easy but it's a good warm up! We did the middle route, it was difficult in places but there were some good bridges and a zipwire (there is an alternative bridge instead) which was fun. There are also some good stopping platforms for a break and to allow people to easily overtake. The views are stunning on a clear day, would recommend stopping and taking it all in! Water is a necessity and try not to do it in the afternoon heat like we ended up doing, it definitely made it harder
Ciara L — Google review
Exceptionally well maintained via ferrata. From a climbing technique point of view it's rather easy, however the exposed position of some sections is nothing for people with fear of heights. For the rope slide a slider is necessary which can be borrowed at the local Intersport or tourist office.
Bau M — Google review
A really beautiful via ferrata, with great ways at the rocks. It seems they have changed the route. Now it's separated in 2 parts - the first AD+or C/D (250m)and the 2nd part D (500m). From the top you have a fantastic view. Unfortunately we haven't found any topo maps of the vf with a description of the difficulties. The information was only D...
Kerstin K — Google review
Breathtaking experience! We started at the digne tourism office where we rented the via ferrata gear. We called ahead to reserve the gear. They gave us instructions on how to use the gear and also a map of the route/how to get there. It took about 30 minutes to walk/hike from there to the start of the via ferrata. The via ferrata itself wasnt difficult but the views and heights were really impressive. There are two cable bridges to cross, a cave in the middle of the via ferrata, and a chimney ladder climb. The whole experience including walking to and back from the tourist office took about 3.5 hours (roughly 1 hour hiking, 2.5 hours via ferrata at a slow pace). I would definitely recommend this experience for anyone who isn't too afraid of heights.
Bryan C — Google review
Really enjoyed this via ferrata, well maintained, great views of Digne and surrounding hills and mountains. Less difficult than la Motte du Caire but still challenging in places. We had great weather and the path on the way up was full of spring flowers. I recommend this via ferrata.
Alison B — Google review
Easy access, no difficulty. Great views on the city of Digne. Sadly forest fires removed trees from the trail going up. Still, my two daughters had fun and happily subscribed to a second one : la Meichira in Prads haute Bléone
Pierre-Olivier G — Google review
Excellent via ferrata. Very exposed though and despite being an avid indoor climber, it turns out I’m terrified of heights and had to climb back down when I got to the first bridge!
Melissa R — Google review
(Translated by Google) Nice via ferrata, well-maintained and clearly marked. The difficulty is marked AD, but we're used to Austrian via ferratas, so this would definitely have been a C/D and probably a D. This is due to the height and the combination of a backward overhang (in some sections) that requires you to click over. I'm only talking about the "easy" first section, after which there's an exit route. I didn't even try the difficult section. Initially, we wanted to take children aged 7 and up, but after a reconnaissance run, we decided against it. The recommended age is at least 10 years old. Advies leeftijd minimaal 10 jaar.

(Translated by Google) Bishop Bienvenu de Miollis, the bishop fictionalized by Hugo in Les Misérables, is buried in the Cathedral of Saint Jérôme in Digne. His tomb, once in the church's choir, is now in the center of the presbytery due to the high altar being moved back following the Second Vatican Council. The beatification process began in 2023. The underlying problem is that the cathedral, the churchyard, and the small park behind it are truly filthy. Furthermore, the three custodians didn't know who Monsignor de Miollis was, even though there was an exhibition of his work in the church and they distributed holy cards of him. In short, things need improvement, especially if he were beatified! It's inexplicable why Sunday Mass isn't celebrated at Saint Jérôme, but at Notre-Dame du Bourg, which is outside the city center. Furthermore, since it is the seat of the canonical chapter, it is difficult to understand how they can proceed with the common recitation of the office if the church is only open in the afternoon on Sundays.

Located in the heart of the city, on the Rochas hill, it replaced the original episcopal seat located at Notre-Dame-du-Bourg from the 16th century. Antoine de Guiramand, bishop of Digne from 1479, was behind the construction of Saint-Jérôme cathedral. The building, erected from 1490 to 1500, is the work of Antoine Brollion, master mason in Barcelonnette. From 1846 to 1862, the diocesan architect Antoine-Nicolas Bailly added an additional bay and gave the cathedral a facade inspired by 13th century Gothic. L'Auberge à Papa is a highly recommended French restaurant known for its excellent food and friendly service. While the burgers may not have as much flavor as expected, they are visually appealing and generously portioned with a tasty bun. However, the sauce lacks depth and the cheddar cheese is not very noticeable, giving more of a melted gruyere taste. On the other hand, their rib of beef is outstanding, served with a delectable cheese sauce that enhances its flavor.
Very nice restaurant, food is something else! In a good way 😉

(Translated by Google) A superb discovery! The chef, who also serves, is incredibly welcoming, cheerful, and friendly—you immediately feel at ease. The dishes were delicious and very generous: I had a lemongrass beef salad, served in a large bowl, rich in flavor, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. We also tried the spicy, tender, and flavorful cuttlefish, the melt-in-your-mouth caramel pork, melt-in-your-mouth fragrant, and an excellent pho soup, comforting and generous. For both quality and quantity, the prices are unbeatable. This is truly authentic and generous Vietnamese cuisine, prepared with care. We will definitely be back! (Original) Une superbe découverte ! Le Refuge Des Sources is a charming hotel located in Digne-les-Bains, offering a serene atmosphere and comfortable accommodations. The hotel is situated next to a golf course and provides easy access to popular attractions such as Digne-les-Bains Thermes and Via Ferrata du Rocher de Neuf Heures. Guests can enjoy the seasonal outdoor pool, terrace, and garden with picturesque views. The dining room exudes warmth with its mountain chalet ambiance and fireplace area.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. We didn’t know what to expect when we booked as it appeared to be exceptional value for money. From the moment we arrived the lady on reception was so friendly & kind. We enjoyed dinner & breakfast in the restaurant. The hotel is outside town but was perfect for walks along the river & we had a swim in the pool. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay again if we’re in the area.
Ncstvr — Google review
This hotel needs some care and attention. The room was clean and bed comfortable. But the outside spaces are very uncared for and our balcony was dilapidated. The reception staff - ( not the French lady who was there the next day and was much nicer ) on arrival was completely disinterested and ignored us , instead staring at her computer without any greeting. This gives a horrible lack of welcome. Also Declined to help us to book the spa . I Asked for a quiet room - we had paid for a superior room-and she gave us - room next to stairs door which bangs shut very loudly when people come through . Breakfast was partly good but scrambled egg cold.

We stayed here for 10days for our first experience of Provence, and glad we did! The hotel is comfortable and nicely designed with all the things we needed. Great spaces for chilling out in the evening (with a selection of board/card games for the family to choose from) and perfectly located for exploring the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence during the day. Room Simple but spacious and nicely furnished. The wood panel theme runs throughout the hotel. Our balcony looked out over the pool and the surrounding hills, which was great. The sound proofing seemed pretty good too. Downsides: no air conditioning meant it got pretty hot. But, the hotel staff managed to get us a fan which really made a difference. Rooms could benefit from there being a small fridge and a safe in the room. Pool Clean and a good size, with enough sun loungers and shade to keep everyone happy. Restaurant Great breakfast with an abundance of sweet and savoury to choose from. Evening meals were tasty, but if you’re staying more than 4 days be aware that the menu changes infrequently (not at all over our 10days) and with only 4 starters/4 mains/4 desserts this can feel repetitive. There’s also food at the bar and the pizza’s here were super. Staff The hotel aside, we must mention the staff who were attentive and always willing to help. A special mention must go to Lola who made us feel especially welcome and made our stay that much more enjoyable. We will definitely return next time we are back this way.

Good value for the price. Hotel is at the hot springs site one mile off town center. Restaurant and bar were a good surprise in term of quality and offering.

Really nice hotel. Nice view and very quiet around. The new design is very simple and nice and gives you a cosy atmosphere. When you enter the room, you can still feel the fresh wood smell. Clean room and comfortable bed. There is also a swimming pool open until 21 pm. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. About the restaurant indeed there was not perfect, but let's say they are working on it (I would give them another chance)

Helpful staff and clean rooms. Lack of air conditioning meant rooms were uncomfortably hot. Limited breakfast options. Pancakes and scramble eggs were served cold. Housekeeping minimal.

With its well-maintained fairways and greens, golfers can expect excellent playing conditions that will enhance their experience on the course.

Only used the golf course. Again the sand traps has not seen a rake this season. Probably because there were very little sand in them. Also the edge grass was not cut. At hole three I though of quitting because of the very poor maintenance. But then again the greens vere good so we kept going and had a very nice round. I do not know but €58 seems a high greenfee for this kind of golf course.

Nestled in the heart of Digne, Le Resto du Coin is a charming little eatery that may not catch your eye at first glance, but it promises delightful surprises once you step inside. The welcoming atmosphere is complemented by friendly owners and a chef known for his humor. Diners can enjoy homemade dishes crafted with care, all at reasonable prices. Families are particularly catered to here; children are treated like royalty, with meals tailored to their tastes.
An old fashion (in the best possible way) french cuisine restaurant. Beautiful traditional table setting, with Provence finest ceramic plates. A choice of six dishes, all classics. We had the duck and the creamed fish. Both dishes were exquisite! The peach tart tatain was a splendid desert. The couple running the restaurant were as lovely as the food.

We ate here many years ago and had pleasant memories of the good home-cooked meals and the personal and charming service. We always thought we would like to return here if we ever came back to Digne, and we finally did. Everything in the restaurant is as it was back then, we are delighted to report. I've seen that many others have not enjoyed their visits, but for us we only were happy. Was this one of "the good days," perhaps? Thank you, anyway, dear owners, for another memorable lunch.

But Madame the mold has the smell too! And our 2 dishes of duck breast were infected, just 1 bite was enough to have this stale taste in the mouth, meat far from fresh, accompaniment of frozen vegetables, bland, tasteless... Even their water in a carafe had a taste of stagnation. And despite our words and our request that they taste it for themselves, they did nothing! We also paid our bill 36 euros! For 3 dishes with only 3 forks in total (1 per person!!) a scandal! Charging for food that would have made us sick is a shame. Allez-y!!!!

(Translated by Google) 1- a wonderful welcome 2- can be divided into 4 to suit children's tastes 3- a good address in Digne Worthy 13hoo puzzle for eating. Small restaurant that doesn't look like much... but don't hesitate to open the door. Top notch and fast service. We were not disappointed when the plates arrived, very good rosé wine in the pitcher. Our 2 children aged 3 and 4 were pampered as rarely in the restaurant. For my part, the homemade choux profiteroles are not to be missed.

Great food, super affordable menu (€11 dish of the day and €14 if you add a dessert to it), fast and nice service. Highly recommended on the road between ski slopes and the Nice region

Nice coffee stop while exploring Digne. No requirement to buy a meal when we were here at 14:45. Good coffee, friendly waiters. Clean facilities.

My girlfriend is vegetarian and both waiters were very kind and patient explaining different alternatives. She ate the Italian salad with a very nice burrata mozzarella and some nice tasty tomatoes etc.. and I had the tuna stake that was great too.

No drink without food, so if you just want a drink, avoid. Staff were fantastic, efficient and managed to communicate in English. All mains food was €15, no menu but waiter tells you what's available, when I went it was a choice of a couple of salads, a burger, a beef fillet and a couple of other options I can't remember. Food was lovely and came quickly. I had a tirimisu for desert which was great 👍. And a pint of Heineken. All came to €26. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch, thank you.

(Translated by Google) We hadn't been there for a few years: the quality is still there, the sandwiches are still just as big. The value for money is very good. We called and took a doggy bag with us, and even reheated it the next day, they're still very good! The managers are very pleasant with a big smile. We're not located nearby, but it's worth the detour! (Translated by Google) Amazing. Being from Marseille and passing through there. I noticed their good reputation (evaluation ⭐) and I said to myself about the people who go up on purpose to eat their hamburger, that's a hoot and no, they are really exceptional, all of them and even the bread is homemade. 🤩 It's a delight and prepares you to have an exploding stomach, not small portions. Go try it, you won't be disappointed 👍 (Original) Incroyable. Étant de Marseille et passant par la.
