Watchet in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Watchet, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Watchet is a small historic harbour town on the Bristol Channel, known for its marina, tidal harbour and long maritime heritage. Visitors can stroll the waterfront, explore the Market House Museum and Watchet Boat Museum, and see the statue commemorating Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” which local tradition links to the area. The town is a stop on the heritage West Somerset Railway, offering scenic steam-train rides through the countryside. Its coastal paths and proximity to Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills make it a useful base for walking and exploring West Somerset.
With favorites like Watchet Harbour Marina, The London Inn, and Tropiquaria Zoo, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like The London Inn and Chives Cafe so you can get the best taste of Watchet while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Watchet Harbour Marina, once a bustling commercial port, underwent a transformation in the early 2000s to become a vibrant marina for pleasure craft. This change was met with some local resistance but ultimately led to the decommissioning of the port after thorough public inquiry. Today, Watchet Harbour Marina is not just about boating; it offers an inviting atmosphere where families can enjoy low tide strolls along its expansive rocky sandy shore that stretches up to half a mile.
A beautiful, quiet little village that I adore. We stayed at the nearby Haven site in a dog friendly caravan and loved it. Somerset is a gorgeous county, one I love revisiting!

A quaint and interesting little harbour and a lovely place for a wander or just to sit with a coffee. There are numerous information boards dotted around the harbour outlining its history. Back in the day iron ore mined in the Brendon hills arrived here on the West pier, via the West Somerset Mineral Railway, for onward shipping to Newport in Wales. On the quay you'll also find a statue of 'The Ancient Mariner' a tribute to the 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
Chris K — Google review
Fantastic place brilliant views just enough to fill up a couple of hours on a daytrip like we did when we went from kings norton coaches Birmingham toilets at the front of marina not much parking always seems quiet lots of disabled access as paths are flat
Matthew B — Google review
Delightful and inexpensive motorhome parking. 2 dedicated spaces next to Marina and the same rate as cars. Wonderful.
Lyndhurst — Google review
Sailed to the marina from Penarth. Booked 2 days and stayed 4. Matt and his team care about you and the marina. Watchet doesn't have mud anymore! Dredge it and they will come. Glad to become regulars again. Well done
Bob A — Google review
Not a lot going on but one or two interesting shops and very picturesque. Also, a quick walk over the hill to the east of the harbour brings you down to a secluded beach. It's rocky but you can find fossils. Great fun searching for them.
Jeremy W — Google review
Very good place to visit and meet friends, interesting museums and shops, great for the steam railways

Very nice and clean little village 👌 and harbour, with plenty of tea rooms and pubs. For food and drinks. And some little shops

The Esplanade Club is a vibrant venue that welcomes everyone and offers a variety of events and live music in the evenings. During the day, it also serves as a delightful spot to enjoy a drink while admiring the harbor view. Although they do not serve Real Ales, this was not an issue during our visit after a busy weekend. On our return, we found that it had improved significantly with helpful staff and impeccably decorated, clean toilets.
The Esplanade Club is a great pub to visit if you are in the Watchet area. I used to frequent this pub many years ago when I lived locally, however dropped in a couple of times last week when I was visiting family in the area. The outside seating area is situated just on the harbour, perfect for a relaxing drink on the evening. The pricing was great and the beer was great. Lovely touch with the branded plastic cups for outside drinking, I took mine home as a souvenir. The staff and locals were very friendly. Will definitely be dropping in for a pint or two next year when we are back in Watchet.

Fantabulous experience here. Good beer, good service with a massive smile, friendly locals and loads of fun. Coming back next time we visit 😊

Friendly and love the live music here.
Karen K — Google review
Eight of us attended the Watchet carnival event, we all purchased 2 drinks each from the esplanade bar, a hatch to the outside seating area. However when we asked to use the toilet we were told that was for members only and we were flatly refused entry. I get that it was a busy event but surely advance warning i.e. a sign on the outside bar saying drink beer here but are toilet facilities are unavailable would be the right thing to do!

This is a traditional pub with an amazing atmosphere and great customer service. It has a lot of drinks to choose from, including options for those who enjoy whisky, cider, and ale. The pub is also well-decorated and full of interesting antiques. It's the perfect place to relax after exploring Watchet town.
This turned out to be a real find ! We went in while waiting for our takeaway (from the nearby Spice Merchant Indian Restaurant - and well worth a visit if you are hungry - see separate review). Three solid real ales served from barrels behind the bar and lots of different ciders too. Proper quirky vibe about the place and everyone was friendly and you could get a good taste before you bought....I like that in a pub. I had a pint of the Porter, then a pint of the Wicked Wolf, and I'd have downed the Bearserker given the chance....but the food was ready for pick up. Great little place, well worth going if quirky real ale bars are your thing.....and they are mine....
Martin C — Google review
Wow! The guy behind the bar was very friendly, cider was great and the atmosphere is gorgeous! It is a must to pop in place if you like classic English pubs.

We was staying up the road and came in to Watchet town centre / harbour, popped into this little gem on a pub. Its only small bit has heaps of character and all sorts of historic things dotted about. I had a Guinness and it was beautiful they found a seat for me and the family when we entered. The atmosphere was great and the decor is very quirky if your in that area defiantly worth popping in for one.

What a quirky little place in the wall where the local drinks ! Dog friendly, nice atmosphere, great staff to help you out, a lot of interesting cider to have ! Lovely little place really enjoy the deco almost feel like your thrown back in time to the 60s. Shame that they don’t do food but they have made a deal with the chippy next door so you can eat your chippy in the pub and have you pint! Highly recommended this place to stop by a drink or two but be warned..the cider is like rocket fuel there!!! If you enjoy reading this and helped you out please do give me a thumbs up up and a follow, this would help me out so much and let me continue to review such place like this more in the future . ❤️👍🐕

Pebbles Bar, in Watchet, Pebbles: A Watchet Wonderland It's tiny, it's packed, it's a glorious din, A cider tsunami, where do you begin? From orchards nearby, the amber flow, Real ales with names that make your face glow. Like "Old Rosie," "Thatcher's Gold," "Nasty Nick" so crude, "Wobbly Bob," "Riggwelter," no need to be rude. Best bar in the South West, year after year they've won, A boozy nirvana, second to none! The dogs, oh the dogs, a furry parade, Spaniels and terriers, not in the least afraid. They sprawl on the flagstones, they snooze by your feet, Man's best friend welcome, a truly dog-friendly treat. And next door, the chippy, a glorious sight, Fish and chips steaming, a culinary delight. You grab your cod supper, wrapped up in the news, Then back to the bar, no time to refuse. The vinegar sharp, the salt on your tongue, With a pint of "Pig Swill," a song to be sung! So if you're in Watchet, and thirsty as hell, Pebbles is waiting, cast off your spell. A raucous good time, guaranteed, that's the score, And you'll stumble out happy, then come back for more!

Absolutely brilliant pub - local real ale and the biggest selection of ciders you'll ever find. My favourite place after a few trips on the West Somerset Railway, but don't miss that last train. Especially impressed that the pub manager gave me a fantastic mix of a couple of ciders to meet my taste.
Kerry C — Google review
Normally I am a real ale guy, but I decided to dive into the cider world while in Somerset. It's a proper local pub with an amazing selection of cider with the best I have seen so far in Somerset. Staff are super helpful for those who aren't cider drinkers like me. Would recommend. Bring cash though cause their card machine is iffy due to poor service, but that's not an issue for myself.
Bob L — Google review
Fortunately I can edit my review from last year which wasn't great. We returned this week and felt welcomed. Landlord is knowledgeable. Clientele are friendly. Nice place for a cider. You can even eat your fish and chips bought next door.

The Star Inn is a charming and popular pub in Watchet, Somerset. It's known for its welcoming atmosphere, interesting decor, and great selection of real ales. The varied menu offers a diverse range of food with just the right portion sizes. Visitors can enjoy a tasty bite to eat and a refreshing pint in this lovely establishment. Additionally, the location near the Washford River and 17th Century thatched cottages provides a picturesque setting for leisurely walks.
Chef was very good. And didn't mind adapting my meal. Pie was so full of meat. I think it had a cow in it. Absolutely brilliant

What a find, fantastic pub, staff and customers were all very friendly, good really good, to top it off Morris Dancers arrived, what more do you need Book a table first. Thanks to all, you made our day. Parking tight, but there are places to park with a short walk.

One of our fave pubs in Watchet. Had a perfectly cooked steak and sides. Have always been well satisfied with the food and staff on every visit and I’m fairly picky. Very easy to have a chat over dinner or a drink.

We came across this place by accident, simply looking for somewhere to eat that also accepted dogs. The meals were stunning, I haven't enjoyed a meal so much for years. We were served by a lovely young lady called Courtney, who was charming and super helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Stuck for somewhere to eat 2 nights later, having already booked for the night after, we decided to eat there again. Same delicious choice of food, we had different meals, again absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this place to eat or simply for a few drinks. We'll be back! 😋

Popped in on holiday. Had an evening pint, great atmospehere. Good barman, very good at at talking you back for food, which we did the next day and the steak was amazing. Real credit are his staff to his pub. Great, real local pub.

A great pub for food & or beer. We booked our table by phone, & received great service on arrival. The menu was perfect for the three of us. Food size being generous and really tasty. Pie was spot on with plenty of lean steak topped with big layers of flakey pastry. Finished this off with a superb pint of Exmoor Beast. Staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble at all. Would highly recommend.
Chris W — Google review
We stopped in here for a meal in Watchet. The staff were friendly and had a table for us at short notice. It was however in a room that was fairly dingy with a low ceiling that made it feel a little cramped with 10 of us. They had a good number of high chairs of the kids. We ordered a variety of food- which were mixed in quality. The kids meals were fine however my ribeye steak was undercooked, tough and under seasoned whereas someone else’s sirloin was overcooked. The lamb and beef burgers went down well and the chips were good. The salad was basic and didn’t add much to the meal. They did have a nice golden ale on tap.

Torre Cider Farm is a family-run establishment in Somerset, known for producing four types of traditional scrumpy ciders. Visitors can witness the cider-making process during autumn, from apple harvesting to fermenting 30,000 liters of scrumpy. The farm also offers year-round family activities such as rare-breed animal viewing and a shop stocked with local produce. Additionally, guests can enjoy cream teas and freshly baked goods at the on-site tea room.
Nice little Cider barn hidden in an orchard. Some really nice ciders to either drink on site or take away (and they do tasters!!). Small play area for the kids and a few pens with Pigs, chickens and ducks. We had a lovely couple of hours there and may have to pop back to get some more cider!!
Michael N — Google review
We are from West Yorkshire and always look forward to our annual visit to the cider farm en route to Cornwall, we’ve had some lovely times there and bought cider and gifts. We have been disappointed over the last 3 years by the reduction of opening hours, today when asked if the shop was open we were greeted with a brusque response that sheep had to be seen to. Poor customer focus.
Veronica M — Google review
A wonderful little hidden cider farm. It was a wonderful stroll around the small orchard and relax in the hammocks there. The little shop was very pleasant, and staff very friendly. It was nice to feed the pigs whilst on our visit. Will return when next this way

Stayed in the safari tents for a couple of nights to celebrate my 40th birthday. I loved it, such a lovely whimsical place full of natural beauty. The accommodation was clean and well looked after. The check in process was easy, just turn up and let yourself in. The highlight was the farm cat Custard who checked in on us regularly throughout the stay.

Just love it out there. I Take my aunties out there alot. Sally and her team are fantastic! Not just with us but with all the customers. Staff are polite, attentive and lovely. Had an elderly uncles birthday a few weeks ago and pulled out all the stops to ensure we had a nice time..thank you x

It's one of the most beautiful places I've been lucky enough to visit! Super friendly staff, Freddie, the one-eyed goat 🐐 is just brilliant. The scenery is breathtaking. I'm so glad we went! The apple juice is lovely, and so we breakfast! Highly recommend a visit!
Julie L — Google review
Excellent little working cider farm. You can walk among the various different breeds of apple in the orchard and there's a small restaurant which serves very nice food. They make a few different cider flavours which are all very nice, as well as gins and such. I recommend the honey cider 👌 *Update* Been again this year (2024). Still a great place to visit. The only thing I'm a bit gutted about is that the cider is no longer sold in the glass jars as it used to be. We all still enjoyed walking through the orchard and the kids loved seeing the animals and playing in the play area. Food was lovely and the staff were very friendly.
Karl M — Google review
Happened upon this Cider Farm almost by accident as we were on route to camp close by and saw the road sign for it!…wonderful place…lots of play equipment for the younger ones - orchard walks - animals to feed - coffee shop (highly recommend the cider cake!!) - small gift shop with local products to sell which we really appreciated …friendly staff and helpful service - cider tasting available..plenty of parking spaces and disabled parking spaces available too. Toilets available however I was unable to see if disability access was possible to these but given how lovely this place was I fully expect it was!…you can also view the cider pressing room and there are plenty of information boards to read. We both noted that this cider farm had fully retained it small traditional feel whilst offering much to see and do..

Proper old school local pub in a lovely village with locals propping up the bar and holiday makers eating. I had a killer mixed grill cooked on point, my lad had the perfect steak and wife and daughter had homemade chilli. Couldn't fault it one bit. Long time family owned pub which deserves support, loved it!

This is one I must visit to eat next time here without the dog as not dog friendly. Really great views from the upper level tables which I imagine you need to book before well before you go. We only had a drink there in the afternoon so difficult to comment on anything other than it's well worth a visit if you're visiting or not. Nice clean toilets too.

Nice food we had home made steak a Guinness pie, home made smothered chick bbq and cheese and mixed grill which I have to say out of the many mixed grills I’ve had this has to be up there the meat was not tough and chewy which I find with many mixed grills I’ve had in the past at other places the sausages were really nice Over all a nice meal and a good price for a family of three.

What a super place really glad we walked in. Nice food, served hot and tasting fresh, served promptly. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. Sea view restaurant upstairs has a great view and serves the same menu as the pub downstairs. Only reason for 4 stars is that the restaurant was cold. Highly recommend, we have children with us and they enjoyed it too

Rude little kid behind the counter.. shouldn’t be working there if one doesn’t like to work there !! We ordered our drinks and food .. took ages for the drinks to come and that too just one drink when we ordered two different drinks and the comment from the kid who served us when asked was “I have only two hands” and walked away .. we cancelled our order .. never again .. it wasn’t busy but appears that they are under staffed and that too on a bank holiday when one would expect a good turn out of people .. train your staff in interacting with customers..

Lovely staff, good, honest food. We came to visit Watchet on a muggy day in Spring and this little place caught our eye for lunch. They welcomed the 5 of us in and saw us to a table. They have a food menu for children an adults alike. Our 4 year old got a hot chocolate and proceeded to spill it. Staff were happy to help clean up the spillage and gave us a new cup without charge. I enjoyed smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, with a side salad. They also have a good selection of home made cakes which we enjoyed afterwards.

Lovely old country pub in a beautiful village and welcoming host, we actually weren’t very hungry so left munching our meals, however the salad was a tad chunky for my taste with too much salad dressing on and the Cajun chicken a little dry, my partners burger was burnt on one side other than that nice food ☺️

For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Tropiquaria Zoo, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to West Somerset Railway - (Watchet, Station). All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Outdoor Activities
Tropiquaria Wildlife Park is a family-friendly destination that offers an opportunity to get up close and personal with exotic reptiles, birds, and a variety of animals. Visitors can hold snakes, lizards, and other creatures while also enjoying surprise visits from cuddly friends. The park features play facilities both indoors and outdoors for younger visitors. Guests can also explore the tropical aquarium on-site. Additionally, there are engaging talks about the animals as well as a pirate ship and castle park to enjoy.
Ask about the experiences! We've been visiting for a few years, and we decided to book the experience for our Daughter's birthday, and it was phenomenal value. From start to finish, she felt so special. We got up close feeding many of the animals, and got very personal talks about the animals. Jess was amazing, and the passion shines through from all the staff. They do so much work for conservation, and rescue. If you can't do the experience, make sure you join the talks as you will see a lot of feeding and also hear some very interesting information and the stories behind the animals. They do need the visitors to help them fund the work they do, and you will not regret visiting. You also get to see how the local community and businesses help them. Also great parks for the kids to play on.

Excellent small zoo. Spacious grounds, very helpful and friendly staff and great talks by the keepers. Amazing play areas both indoors and outdoors, with a cafe serving light meals, snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. Would highly recommend a visit.
Lynne D — Google review
We had the best few hours here today. The zookeepers were so friendly and knowledgeable, the animals are all clearly very well cared for and there is so much space for little ones to run and play. Would definitely return!

We had such a fun day here. There was more than I thought there would be. We went on a Wednesday, pretty quiet, we didn’t wait long to get in, 5 minutes or so, and didn’t buy tickets in advanced. You can do that if you wish but it doesn’t make much difference. £16.50 (Adult ticket) Really enjoyed the talks, they were very informative and the staff were lovely, it was nice being able to ask questions and become more educated on some of the animals there. We ended up staying from opening to closing, attending every talk. I definitely recommend this zoo as it educates us on the conservation of wildlife.
Caroline L — Google review
Brilliant little zoo! Highly recommend going to all the talks about the animals, highly knowledgeable keepers and entertaining talks too. The talks allowed us to get a good view of the animals that were otherwise snoozing out of sight as the keepers feed them as they do the talk encouraging the animals to come out. It was such a hot day when we went we probably wouldn't of had much of a chance to see the serval and bobcat if we didn't attend the talks/feeds for them. Amazing play areas for children! There's a large indoor one in the cafe and a couple of outdoor ones too. Café food was good and staff were lovely. We had so much fun there, highly recommend going if you're in the area!
Marie B — Google review
The kind and knowledgeable keepers and volunteer team were a stand-out feature of our afternoon at the park. There was an impressive array of animals, some of which you can see up close far more than other zoos. I strongly recommend attending the keeper sessions throughout the day, as you learn more about the animals and get to see them in action whilst they enjoy their food. The choir of adorable shrieking otters and the famous bobcat Bode were two favourites.
Alex E — Google review
A nice collection of animals, both outdoors and indoors, great play areas for children and not hugely expensive. We went recently, haven't been since a child, and it was a pleasant time. We spent around 3 to 4 hours walking round and I'm sure we would have been longer in the summer time. Lots to see inside the buildings with fish, snakes, spiders, crocodiles and more. A good mix of indoor animals. We went to the 2pm show to touch and hold different animals which included a snake, ferret and a bearded dragon. The daughter (1Y 8M) loved it and the handlers were great. They took care of the animals as the ferret got agitated, so they took it away to ensure the animal was happy. Much better than forcing the animal to be seen. Hats off to the handlers. It was quite fun walking around with the peacocks walking around, made the place feel closer to the animals. The play areas were great, but felt it was geared more towards older children as the inside play area didn't offer much for young children. I would definitely come again in the warmer months of the year but felt like we got our moneys worth going even when cold. The staff were nice and greeting and couldn't fault the experience at all. We will be going again!

We arranged for our son to have the 1 hour zoo keeper experience as a 6th birthday treat and what a treat it was… he had the most amazing time. Sam really ensured our son was enthralled and got the most of our time with the selection of animals. He was super knowledgeable and explained everything so that the children understood. Would highly recommend such a fabulous experience for the children to get involved in. Thank you again Sam for making our boys birthday one he’ll remember.

Cleeve Abbey is a rural 1500s Cistercian monastery located on the fringes of Exmoor national park. Managed by English Heritage, this historical site offers free entry and a quieter atmosphere compared to other nearby attractions. Founded in 1198, the abbey's history spans over 350 years and includes periods of financial struggle.
Cleeve Abbey a lovely place in a great location. We were the first ones there on Saturday morning so we had the place to ourselves. That's what I like the most. No crowds of people who only spoil the whole sightseeing process and there is a lot to see and read about. Very interesting place for me as a tiler.
Tom G — Google review
This was a far more interesting attraction than I was expecting and easily worth the £7.20 entry fee. I was expecting something akin to piles of fallen down masonry everywhere but in fact, other than the Abbey Church which is gone and only visible through the positions of its original foundation stones, many of the other buildings attached to it as part of the monastery are surprisingly intact. Spent a number of hours looking around and it wasn't busy at all on an early October Saturday.

Came here on a glorious summers day having just joined the English heritage. Took the West Somerset steam train which was a short walk away. Expected this to be ruins but was pleasantly surprised at how well retained this building was. Steeped in history. And great to explore. Plenty of rooms to visit including a big open room with loads of atmosphere. And with lovely grounds outside to sit and enjoy. A well stocked shop where both my sister and myself returned with souvenirs and yummy jams and relishes. And a very helpful assistant who gave us loads of information about the Abbey.

Just an incredible and very interesting site. The buildings are well maintained and you really get a sense of the importance of this historic building.

A very impressive Abbey. Apart from the church, that no longer exists, plenty of the Abbey is still there. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Impressive tiles.

Nice place to visit. Good history of Cistertian Abbey and well laid out. Some original tile and paving work. Small shop, toilets are clean and easy free parking in the English Heritage car park across the road. Free disabled parking on site. Informative and helpful worker stationed in shop.Well worth a visit.

West Somerset Railway - (Watchet, Station)

Heritage railroad
West Somerset Railway - (Watchet, Station) is a charming little station on the West Somerset railway. The area around it is peaceful and offers a great location to relax. Although the beach is pebble stone, the setting with East and West Quantoxhead being truly stunning makes up for it. Watchet itself is a beautiful place to visit with its harbour beach that disappears at high tide.
This is wonderful set of buildings that have been period preserved to take people back to the steam years of railways. Do take trip on trains too, because it's a great experience.
Paul ( — Google review
Staff absolutely well dressed and very helpful. Train journeys take you back in time to the 1940/1950s. A serious must do experience.
Iain L — Google review
Lovely Railway. We went from Watchet station to Blue Anchor on the steam train, which was a great experience. The stations are like something out of a movie and the even have old trunks, etc, at the platform, so give it an old world feel. Each member of staff on the trains and platforms was brilliant and very informative.
Michael H — Google review
Lovely station with period buildings and associated railway artefacts. Staff were friendly and kept everyone informed of the next trains and in what direction. Small model railway and on the day a model railway sales stand was present. The town and harbour are only a small walk down the hill, and they are also well worth a visit.

Day trip to Minehead, with my other half and her dog. Very enjoyable trip, dog didn't particularly like the train, but it was her first time. Staff were very smartly dressed in their uniform and the stations were very pretty.

(update 27/7/18 - still a nice station and I don't mind aiding the station funds but I thought £1.20 for a can of diet coke was a bit steep!!!!) Nice little station on the West Somerset railway (see photo's for 2016 fares from Watchet). The 7 day freedom of the line is very good value and is new this year. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

If you're in the mood for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Pizza Time & Kebab House. Nestled on Swain Street, this gem offers an array of mouthwatering options that are sure to satisfy your cravings. From their delicious pizzas and cheesy garlic bread to the standout house kebab, every bite is a treat.
Friendly staff, great pizzas, great kebabs, chips are what you would expect from a pizza/kebab shop. Ordered on the app and pick a time to collect. If you're staying at Doniford Bay campsite I would recommend the little 5 minute drive and avoid the on site chip shop where they failed to give me fish with both of my fish and chips ordered. Order through the app to avoid waiting 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Went for kebab wrap and chips as away for the weekend in the caravan in blue anchor Bay. Great food and friendly staff, will be back when we come down again next year. Chips were nice, golden and crunchy. Donner meat was lovely and salad.
Matty T — Google review
Been a long time (20 years or so) since I last went into this place. Friendly staff with a good sense of humour. Kebab is best I have had in a while. Will be back for pizza next time I go fishing! Wife says even nice next day for breakfast!
Nick R — Google review
As it was very busy I thought I was assured of quality food, so disappointed. Doner kebab, meat was dry like card and barely warm, the Pitta bread was solid and inedible unless I wanted false teeth in the near future. The chicken in the other kebab was hard and dry, Pitta bread equally poor as the other, totally inedible The salad was nice though. Chips were OK. A waste of £22.80.

Popped down while staying locally, being Summer it was busy so took a short while. Note only take cash. Food was great. Portions were better than London.

Good. If you’re actually able to order. Several times I’ve been unable to order food on days they were supposed to be open. Those days were Monday, Friday and Sunday. Tried a few times either online or phoning and no response. It’s bad business and definitely made me less keen on ordering takeaway from here
Connor G — Google review
Had our first takeaway from here, on time delivery and food was hot and well packed, food was delicious, will definitely use again

Nestled in a charming Georgian setting, The White House Hotel and Restaurant offers a delightful blend of comfort and hospitality. Guests rave about the cozy rooms, featuring inviting 4-poster beds that promise restful nights. Whether you're traveling with your furry friend or enjoying a romantic getaway, the spacious accommodations cater to all needs. Breakfast is an optional treat, but many recommend indulging in the delicious home-cooked options available.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights with our dog in one of the courtyard rooms. Lovely cozy room with the essentials. Breakfast is optional but the home cooked fry up was on point. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The place was just as advertised on the internet. Lovely area, local shops within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully be back in the future. Thank you for having us 😁

Fantastic stay, friendly family run, nothing is too much trouble. Double room with en-suite and adjoining room for my daughter we’re large and spacious, plenty of tea and coffee in the room with biscuits for a treat. Lovely quiet place having no restaurant not a problem we ate on our way back from our days out and there are a few pubs near by. Will be coming again
Lorraine B — Google review
Room was incredibly cold as the heating was not turned on for the majority of our stay. They did supply a small electric heater which we used but this took hours to take the cold edge off the room. We were slightly disappointed in the general cleanliness of the room, finding a couple of spiders in the bedroom and bathroom. Parking was handy, right outside the front entrance and staff were very friendly. Shower was also hot and powerful. We felt that for £7.50 per person the continental breakfast was very limited, no pastries etc. Overall we left slightly disappointed and wouldn't return.

Had such a lovely stay at The White House. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and our evening meal was fab. There was free parking right by our room, which was very handy. The room was very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only criticism we have is that the curtains were thin so let a lot of light in, meaning we were awake very early. Maybe a black out blind or thick curtains would be good. We will definitely be staying again!

We came up to Williton for a wedding so booked the White House Hotel, I was extremely impressed on the size of the room and the four poster bed, nice and quite and the shower worked really well. Breakfast was very good as well with a large variety of things to have. The owners are very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back again.
Rowan C — Google review
What a wonderful place, we had our wedding reception here and it was amazing. The food was excellent, the staff were brilliant the rooms were great too. All in all we had a perfect day and stay. The breakfast in the morning was superb especially the scrambled egg.Would highly recommend this special place.
Sandra R — Google review
Friendly staff, our room had a dodgy toilet which was a pain as it took close to 30 minutes to fill. Breakfast a simple bit nicely cooked affair with very accommodating team. I found the bed a bit soft and lumpy but it was clean and tidy, pillows thin light affairs but functional and clean. They do have a little bar downstairs but we didn't get a chance to try it so can't comment on this aspect. Nice little village with a few places to eat and not far is Watchet with a few nice little bars on the harbour edge.
Justin F — Google review
This is my second visit this year. The first was brilliant, no complaints in any area. Hosts are amazing, down to earth but professional. Constantly ensuring all is well and seeing if they can assist with any part of the visit. Rooms are large with very comfortable beds. Breakfasts are lovely with plenty of options. Huge bonus is a well stocked bar. This obviously made me want to return and I wasn't disappointed. Ate in the restaurant this time and the food was amazing, well worth treating yourself. I visit family in the area and will always return. Couldn't recommend the hotel enough. Well done to an excellent family run establishment.
