Gardens
Giardini la Mortella is a stunning hillside garden in Forio, featuring a diverse collection of tropical and Mediterranean flora, enchanting water features, and breathtaking bay views. Originally purchased by the renowned English composer Sir William Walton in 1949, with the help of landscape architect Russel Page, it was transformed into a paradise. The gardens boast an array of rare plants including the celebrated Gingko Biloba and the mesmerizing Victoria Amazonica.
I'm a gardener so I'm always keen to visit a botanical garden wherever I go, but this one is truly spectacular. A mystical panoply of all types of plants from different regions. Some really special orchids and water plants. Nooks, ponds and rockeries galore. Highly recommend. You could easily spend all day there so be careful. Really good price for the wonders on offer. Enjoy!

While the beauty and care with which the gardens have been cultivated are truly admirable, my visit was unfortunately overshadowed by the fact that smoking is permitted within the grounds. Allowing visitors to smoke in such a serene, carefully preserved natural environment is not only detrimental to the air quality and atmosphere but also deeply detracts from the experience for those who come seeking peace, beauty, and inspiration. The gardens, created over many years with such dedication and vision, deserve to be enjoyed in a setting that respects their tranquility and ecological integrity. Sadly, the presence of cigarette smoke made it difficult to fully appreciate the space and ambiance that Sir William Walton and Lady Susana Walton so lovingly brought to life. I strongly urge the Foundation to reconsider its policy on smoking within the gardens. Implementing a non-smoking rule would preserve the healthful environment, enhance the experience for all visitors, and align more closely with the spirit of harmony and reflection that La Mortella was clearly intended to embody.

Gorgeous gardens (ticket 12 €), quite large, so you will spend some time here. There is even a small cafe bar with some food right under the Greek theater (you can also find toilets here, next to the theater). We also caught the concert in the evening from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM and the ticket cost only 8 €. Fallowing the song for parking and ticket office if you are by car (around 1 km from down, another entrance by foot).
Ady Y — Google review
This is a must-visit-place if you visit Ischia! The place is incredible, and there's so many wonderful, beautiful and unique places. Make sure to have plenty of time, and it is a big garden and theres quite a lot of walking, paths up and down, elevations and stairs. At the very top and bottom, trees offer you a bit of shade and fresh air. The the levels in between, the sun and stairs can make it an incredibly warm experience. Make sure to bring water and something for your blood sugar if it is a very warm day. The place is relatively easy to reach by public transportation. Parking is a bit more tricky, however if you enjoy a slightly challenging drive on small roads there's a small parking lot at the very top of the garden.
Jeff O — Google review
If you’ve visited botanical gardens in other major cities (500,000+ population), this one won’t surprise you — it’s pleasant, but quite standard. Plan for about an hour to see everything. One important tip: there are a lot of tiger mosquitoes here. If you’re not familiar with them, look them up and make sure to bring repellent — it will make your visit much more enjoyable.
Mark F — Google review
A stunning set of gardens. Tranquil and inspiring. We also enjoyed an outdoor concert one evening whichbwas also a joy with all the scent from the garden mixing in with the frogs chorus from the ponds. Cant recommend more highly. Wegot there for when it opened at 9 as it was cooler and less busy.
P2 M — Google review
Definitely worth the price and super nice to get some shade in there when it's super hot outside. Make sure to keep in mind the guided tour groups that might arrive on the daily around 10:30-11-30am
Nadine S — Google review
We visited the garden with friends and were not disappointed. There was so much to see and didn't manage to see the whole garden. What we did see was beautiful and very colourful. The frogs even treated us to a different type of concert as they stayed hidden amongst the lillies. If you have mobility issues then you may not get to see the whole garden as there are lots of steps. Each plant or tree was labelled to show where in the world they originate from. There is a lovely cafe and shop. At the time of visiting, there was a concert going on, which was an additional cost. We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the gardens are and thoroughly recommend visiting them.

Such a fun stop along the road! That's the owner, Enzo, in the blue. A real character! The juice from his little stand is outstanding!

Telly not that interesting place , you just might skip it. Beach is very small and attached to harbor, most of it is covered by rental umbrellas and chairs, just a small strip is free. People who are renting it are very rude. It is nice place to see , maybe better from a far, but definitely not of interest when it comes to swimming or diving.
DAnica J — Google review
When we arrived the water was a bit dirty but we managed to swim in some clean spots. The sand is thick, almost like little stones that don't hurt the feet. It was an amazing experience feeling the hot water coming from the sand. I really liked this beach. Belvedere di Serrara is a picturesque viewpoint located in the mountains of Ischia, accessible via a short hike from Fontana square. The trail winds through chestnut woods and wild countryside, taking about an hour to reach the top of Mount Epomeo. From there, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views stretching from the Bay of Naples to the islands of Ventotene and Ponza on clear days. The area offers a refreshing escape from the heat, with cool winds and beautiful scenery.
Best view of the southern island? Stop here is highly recommended. We lovede it.

Beautiful view port on Ischia, in pictursque Serrara Fontana district. It is located in mountains, so usually it is fresh and windy here. I like it very much, perfect for a relief even in very hot days. It is great to take a car at the sea level (doesn't matter where is your stay) and drive around the Island with one of the stops in Serrara Fontana. You will love it! 😊

Island
Ischia is a lush volcanic island known for its hot springs, stunning coastal views, and a medieval castle. The island has hosted distinguished personalities from the international cinema world during its film festivals. With open-air screenings in artistic and cultural venues, the festival offers a unique experience. Ischia also boasts diverse cuisine with restaurants offering universal and sensory-stimulating dishes. Additionally, the island's political and social stability make it an attractive destination for travelers seeking a taste of Europe in a picturesque setting.
It is a beautiful island with a lot of attractions. We got there with our catamaran and stayed for one full day. We traveled all around island with scooters which make it even nicer experience.

An unexpected beauty and charm you'll meet there. Very green island with plenity of choices to do. From swimming in the blue waters to walks on the beautiful streets full of coloured ceramics art. Lots of flowers and palms are everywhere.
Bianca R — Google review
I spent a day in Ischia and I wish I could stay longer. When I went, I took a speed boat for about hour and regular furry took me at least 2 hours to come back to Naples. The Island is so unique and gorgeous, tons of wonderful places to go but I only had one day. I paid a cap to take me around the island. It was good to have a local as a guide and know what place to go. Beaches is extremely beautiful. The view from the top of the mountain is even better. Houses, buildings, street and all nature are stunning, looks like I'm in heaven. Suggesting: enjoy the island more then a day if you have time.
Melissa N — Google review
A nearby island to Capri. Much less crowded but also downscale. No designer shops here. Just plain and simple. The food is still wonderful and the beaches are plentiful. Just don’t expect the “ luxury “ experience of Capri. More like Napoli comes to the beach.
Jimmy B — Google review
Beautiful island. Getting around by bus is great, be prepared to handle their opaque, confusing ticket system though.
Jonathan — Google review
A small place for 2 or 3 days. Some beach activities, boating, diving. Nice restaurants, pedestrian ways in the village and few interesting churches.
Laurent B — Google review
Great island overall! Fair warning, it's helpful to come here with some Italian and open to their culture. This is not as touristic like Positano, Capri, or Sorrento. Went to the port side (near the castle), Forio, and Sant'Angelo. It was very nice even though it was a bit hotter than normal for end of June / early July. Knowing "Italian for travelers" really helps as not as many folks speak English here. They have great food, coffee, gelato, sandy beaches and more!
Kristian J — Google review
Forget overpriced and heavily touristy Capri. Just a stone’s throw away is this hidden gem that the locals go to get away. No price shock here. The best part is a little peninsula on the south called Sant’ Angelo. This is by far the best spot on the island. No cars allowed. Everything moves by these little electric golf carts. The silence is golden. Most of the hotels are up on the cliff, with fantastic views. The main shopping area is full of amazing little shops and artisan boutiques. The only downside is that almost all the restaurants fall into the tourist trap category. Overpriced and plagued with bad service. There are a few decent establishments but, they are hidden off the main stretch or much further away.

Restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque Serrara Fontana, Ristorante Bar La Floreana offers an unforgettable experience with its stunning views overlooking Sant'Angelo and the southern coastline. This charming spot is ideal for enjoying a sunset aperitivo while savoring delicious dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients by the talented owner, Aniello Galano. Guests rave about the extraordinary food, including bruschetta, pasta, pizza, and roasted chicken—all made in-house.
Words can hardly describe this place. It is situated perfectly in the mountainous region of Serrara Fontana, over looking Sant’Angelo and a good portion of the southern part of the island. The view is breathtaking! The owner Aniello Galano is a true renaissance man! His food is extraordinary! We had bruschetta, pasta, pizza, roasted chicken, sausage, etc. It is all fantastic! He makes everything in house and all ingredients are locally sourced. To top it all off, Aniello is an incredible musician, playing the guitar and singing for his guests. It was a great pleasure meeting him and his family and we had a marvelous time at his restaurant.

I must say it's a place with a fantastic view. I drank natural orange juice, something very good on the island, but this one was delicious and with the perfect sunset, good and friendly service. :)
Carina P — Google review
We visited this place as part of a bus tour of ischia, quite over priced, however gorgeous views and friendly staff. One thing to note, bathrooms are not well kept at all, and as you may find with a lot of places in Italy, no toilet roll is provided. Note to self: always bring your own in your bag and use bins provided as they do not like you to flush. Probably wouldn’t visit this restaurant again, but views are to die for.

Service great - location is amazing. Can't speak for the food, we only had drinks. But fresh granita and good aperol spritz. Espresso was delicious and served with sparkling water as it should!

I visited 19:00 pm 30 may 2024 Restaurant is on the road, Very loud music and cars are passing by No food served this time Entering a second floor (where a quiet terrasse is) forbidden I asked why i dont have a snack, waiter answered:" because your is not a drink" I had An Amaro Branco.... Look at photo. I ordered a drink And i got a drink. No snacks. Tables next to my are having chips and nuts. And i know this is how drinks are served in Italy. Feels bad

Super cool place with amazing view. Perfect to stop by and see the sunset with spritz+amazing bruschetta.
M S — Google review
Ambience inside is not great, but the view is truly fantastic. We came in the early afternoon and we were extremely hungry. Previous reviews had given us the impression that there would be snacks (bruschetta, antipasti...) available all day but that was not the case. We asked for food, any food, and were told there was nothing at this time (about 3:30 pm). Only a while later, upon asking again, we found out there were snacks like Pringles on sale and there is ice cream, too. It would have been great if staff had mentioned that earlier (we asked in Italian...) So bottom line: amazing spot for an afternoon coffee but don't come hungry at this time of day. ;)

(Translated by Google) Wonderful view from the terrace if you get the right table! Service was also good and quick, but my fish carpacio was not good in taste and tasted too much like fish that had been lying somewhere for too long. Very average food for an extreme price, service was not good, didn’t get a good table. 163 euros for a 4 person meal. Menu is also full of errors and typos. Do not recommend.

Amazing view and nice atmosphere but the food was quite average for the price. Good service
Angélique D — Google review
Positive first: Location on the cliffs is an excellent spot. Terrace is romantic and very inviting. Interior is classy as well. Not that positive: Service could be better. The two first served plates of Antipasti were partially broken, I was wondering if this may fit to this restaurant in its price class. Entry was fine and tasty. Main course didn't fulfill our expectations. Shrimps Were too soft and glassy and nearly unpeelable, maybe bad quality I don't know. Conclusion we made for us, we wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good location and good food.

(Translated by Google) Flawless dishes of the best quality craftsmanship, good wines. Why only 2 stars? For that price an artist would have to be in the kitchen. Approximately 50% too expensive, for two you can easily pay 200 euros for a dinner that is worth 100 euros. There is almost no sea view from the terrace, it is better to go into the restaurant.

If your parking place is a private parking and bother you when someone parked on it even a motor bike, better mark your parking correctly (not on the corner where it’s not visible but in the middle to show that all the street is yours!)or barricade with a rope or at least tell the driver when you see him parking that you do not want to let him to park here, instead of calling the police at the same minute! - if you behave like that it means how is your restaurant too.

Nestled in a picturesque setting, La Porta di Agartha is the ideal dining destination after an invigorating hike up Monte Epomeo. What a treat to find this haven in the mountains. Park just below the restaurant and walk 1 km uphill (good shoes needed) to climb to the top of Mount Epomeo. Amazing views Then, for lunch, delicious homemade local meat, vegetarian dishes for everyone Also the staff were so friendly and helpful Can't wait to go back

Absolute pleasure! We found them randomly on google while on the Ferry to Ischia and they had an opening for lunch. It’s worth the journey to get there because the food was delicious. We had the antipasto which had eggplant, zucchini and carrots all cooked slightly differently but still tasty. For mains we had the pesto gnocchi and the lemon ricotta ravioli. Both dishes were awesome and full of flavor. If you’re on Ischia, make sure to add a stop here!

Great experience! You eat practically in the midth of a chestnut tree ensemble on Monte Epomeo! Friendly people offering great food and some guidance to the island! If you ask for it at least! The best restaurant we went to while visiting Ischia. Food was great, staff were very friendly and the location is so picturesque. Difficult to get to unless you have a scooter or car is the only thing. There is very limited parking at the restaurant but you can park down the hill a little bit for a small fee or further down for free. We had the shared platter which was very nice and had a nice variety of local produce as well as the Gnocchi and Scialatone, both also very good

Casa Celestino, a restaurant with exquisite furnishings and a stunning vista, offers delectable seafood dishes made with fresh, locally caught fish and high-quality ingredients sourced from the island. However, what truly sets this establishment apart is its exceptional staff who go above and beyond to cater to every customer's needs. Paolo and his team provide an outstanding experience that leaves visitors eager to return.
Easily one of the top two meals in Sant' Angelo! With a gorgeous setting and comfortable seating, divine service and unique dishes, it is a great experience. The menu is not extensive but has delightful and innovative versions of the local dishes. They are served professionally and with pride. Their care of the diner is obvious, with great attention, constantly fresh utensils, friendly discussion of menu choices and just enough check-ins. Be prepared to try to understand a little Italian as this is an "authentic"experience! But don't worry, it will be fine. We loved this experience. We would rush back there in a second!

Good quality, yet generally overpriced (@ dinner time), especially the primi piatti. I have seen a lot of miniature portions going around in this restaurant. Tuna tataki is of decent size (pictured), very good taste, but with a near absent caponata. Excellent atmosphere if you sit at the edge of the terrace (otherwise not much).

Nice place with a great location. The atmosphere was bit stiff. We had a drink before the meal. The limoncella spritz was not well mixed. We ate roasted octopus for precourse, and risotto with seafood and ravioli with rabbit for main course. The food was good, but for that price it should have been even better.
Helge H — Google review
Extremely slow service, so beware. Amazing views, great ambience but high prices. They made us wait legit 20 minutes before they came to take our order. We got their tuna tartare and it was delicious, definitely smaller than usual portion tho. Cod confit was yummy, however, involtino, which is the fried fish, was disappointing. There is even live music after 9:00 pm which was cool. Overall good experience.

Beautiful view, set in the cliff, lovely food and very friendly staff! I had the steak tartar which was great and the fish “confit” which which just delicious, unique and beautiful, I highly recommend it! I also had some oysters which were lovely but were €7 each (French , Italian and sustainable, always comes at a price) I didn’t have a reservation but went at 7.30 and was able to get a table. I think it’s the best time to go because you get to watch the sunset. Thank you!!!

For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Le fumarole dei Maronti, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Pizzicagnolo. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Le fumarole dei Maronti is a unique geothermal beach on the island of Ischia, Italy. The area is famous for its mineral-rich thermal waters and hot sands, where locals have been known to cook food underground due to the extreme temperatures. This beach boasts a fascinating phenomenon of sand emitting volcanic vapors, thanks to the ancient volcanic activity that also provides a series of hot springs around the island.
Very relaxing. I went around 10pm and was pretty quiet. There are signs you can follow as well as Google directions. Once you get onto the beach you turn left, go past all the chairs and umbrellas , there is a little path above the rocks, go through that and then you are there … I dug myself a hole and laid in it and watched the stars.. it was fantastic!!!

Beautiful area with lots of lovely local restaurants. Very well known for their natural high springs.

Most of the beach is private. On a hot day some spots on the sand is very hot, so wear shoes. Walk to the far left to get to the public part. The hike there has some nice views.

Chicken stewed in the sand, heated by volcanic vents! The stewed chicken was extremely flavorful with potatoes, onions, and tomatoes. The staff is extremely friendly and the views are unbeatable.

Lido
Nestled along the picturesque Cavagrado beach in Succhivio, Bar Ristorante Lido da Marie offers a delightful escape for those seeking both relaxation and culinary pleasure. This charming pebble beach, framed by stunning lava cliffs and warmed by natural springs, is accessible via a scenic staircase that rewards visitors with its tranquil atmosphere and crystal-clear waters. The restaurant itself is a gem, serving up an array of delicious options from affordable paninis and salads to exquisite pasta dishes and fresh seafood.
Lovely, clean beach with comfortable loungers and umbrellas - 2 loungers and 1 umbrella for 20 euros at the end of the season. Nice bar and restaurant with good low cost options for lunch (panini, bruschetta, salads) as well as more pricey pasta and seafood options. Very nice staff serving you - a lovely place to come for the day :)
Jo W — Google review
Very rude and aggressive staff. We just wanted to have some coffee with dessert. We went to the bar and placed our bags on the chairs at the table where we planned to sit. The staff started shouting that we couldn’t sit at a table unless we ordered food, and without even waiting for us to take our things, they began yelling, throwing our bags on the floor, and even kicking them. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s better to walk a little further up the road, where you’ll find wonderful venues with an incredible sea view, prices about 30% cheaper, friendly service, and delicious food. That’s exactly what we did. We enjoyed both coffee and a proper meal there.

So delicious! We had lunch here twice on our holiday, it was incredible both times. Fresh fish with a gorgeous view. Recommend booking in the morning for lunch if you are spending the day at the beach as it's a tiny restaurant.

The only bar on the beach so it has the monopoly at this very small, overcrowded beach. The prices are high and the staff are extremely rude, So many lovely cafes on this island its not worth visiting here plus the beach is mostly private so better off going to the beach in San Angelo which is very nearby. Not welcoming at all.

Money comes and goes, time only goes. You would be most wise to spend as much of your valuable time at this church of culinary righteousness. Fish - banging Pasta - wicked Vibes - unmatched Thank you to Melina and all those involved in running such a special restaurant.

Beautiful small beach, but too bad most of it is privatized, so very small area is free for normal people to relax. Too many sunbeds, greedy people took over, the only interest is money. Shame the state let them do this.

The Associazione Nemo for the diffusion of maritime culture offers snorkeling tours on Ischia. These are highly recommended, as you can see breathtaking underwater views from beneath the water's surface. However, advanced booking is required via phone because there is a limited number of spots available.
This snorkelling excursion was one of the highlights of my trip. GianLuca and Luca were both such amazing guides and snorkelling around Sant Angelo was a beautiful way to experience Ischia’s sea life and see the island from a different perspective. Would truly recommend, it was such a refreshing experience.

Nestled in the charming village of Sant'Angelo d'Ischia, Da Pasquale Pizzeria Ristorante is a hidden gem that beckons pizza lovers to venture off the beaten path. Tucked away among winding streets and steps leading from the beach, this quaint eatery may be easy to overlook, but it’s well worth seeking out for its mouthwatering pizzas.
Wonderful! Someone recommend this restaurant as an authentic and well priced option, we were extremely pleased! Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Fresh quality ingredients with good service. We had a nice wood fireplace pizza, stuffed pepper and vine ripened tomatoe salad with olive oil and balsamic. Highly recommended 👌

Authentic small pizzeria in Sant'Angelo. They are polite, welcoming and provide quick service. Be prepared that during busy hours, there might be a waiting line in the street, but it does really worth it, the food is great and not expensive at all. Highly recommended!

O am traveling alone and they were able to seat me right away. The service was excellent and my pizza arrived at the table VERY quickly. They have a large menu with many options. That atmosphere is great. It’s casual and cozy and I found the prices to be fair. I would highly recommend if you are looking for pizza while in Sant Angelo.
Tara M — Google review
Busy and well-run restaurant in the winding layers of Sant' Angelo. Truly a pizzeria, but some other nice plates as well. Great variety of toppings and combos are also available as calzones (folded in half before cooking) or pinched over on four corners! And the crust is one of the best anywhere! Open kitchen makes it fun to watch the pies go in & out of the large wood-fired oven. Very relaxed atmosphere, even when it is busiest between 8 - 9. People took breaks from their meals to stroll outside with glasses of wine, and generally made for a fun vibe. And, the food was great. Quality ingredients, generous portions and delicious combinations. And very reasonable prices! This is a gem of an eating experience!

Absolutely amazing, from another word. One of the best pizzas I had traveling Campania. Had the Siciliana, with anchovies, capers and garlic and no cheese, the tomato sauce was insanely tasty, I will really miss it in my life from now on.
Talita S — Google review
We decided to visit this place based on high reviews, but we were disappointed mostly. The salads with tuna and shrimps were good, but portions were rather small in some other restaurants for approximately the same price the portions were 2 times bigger. Pizza was just okay, we tried pizza in about 12 different places and this was not a bad experience, but definitely not in our top 5. Desserts were very good. They were the best parts of our meal. Not a bad place and a bit pricey, except desserts, an average experience for us. Also be aware that there's a coperto (table service fee) - 2 EURO from a person. 2 salads - 17 euro Pizza with salmon - 16 euro 2 desserts (tiramisu and Panna Cotta) - 13 euro 2 drinks - 7 euro Coperto - 4 euro Total: 57 euro

Restaurant
Bar Ristorante Emanuela is a renowned seafood restaurant located in Sant'Angelo on the island of Ischia. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience as it still practices the ancient method of cooking food using the hot sands of Le Fumarole Beach, where dishes like the famous Fumarole fish are cooked for hours. The location provides spectacular views and can be accessed by water taxi, adding to the overall experience.
To get to the cafe you will have to get to S. Angelo (I advise you to leave your car in a paid parking lot) and at the very entrance to the city and walk to get on a boat that will take you to this cafe. This is where they cook fish and octopus in thermal sand. To order this dish, call an hour before arrival. If you haven't done this, take octopus with capers (they cook the capers themselves), potatoes and some other seasonings. I love octopus, but they rarely cook it, sometimes correctly or it is not fresh enough or for some other reason. But this octopus was N2 after my experience in Brazil, where I ate at the Buzios restaurant. I liked it! Delicious and not expensive. Beautiful view. The boat to the beach costs 3 euros, after 7 pm 6 euros one way. Boats go often.
Nataliia ( — Google review
Had a very nice lunch at Emanuela! Took a water taxi from Sant’ Angelo to Le Fumarole Beach & walked a few steps to the restaurant. We ordered their famous Fumarole fish, which is cooked in the sand for 3 hours (reserve ahead of time). This can be done because portions of the beach are super hot due to volcanic activity. It was delicious! They also let us watch how it was exacted from the sand once it was done cooking. Very neat experience! Food & service were great and the view can’t be beat either.

Fantastisc Liguine Vongole, best pasta EVER. Even the bruschetta was to die for. Chef being the owners son really put the effort into the flavours.

Excellent location for lunch sat outside on the terrace amongst the waves. Really lovely people working here too. We had the pasta Emanuela (obviously) and it was very tasty. All of the items on the menu are of a high standard though. If you are looking for somewhere nice on this side of the island you won't be disappointed. Windy at night as it's quite exposed but that isn't the restaurants fault! We have happy memories of this place and if we ever return to ischia will certainly go back

Amazing service! Love the little extras like a free aperitivo at dinner and limoncello at the end of the meal. The seafood is delicious, I got the mussels soup and it was simple and flavorful. The location cannot be beat, I love listening to the sound of the waves on the shore as i eat a relaxing meal. It can be difficult to get to if you aren’t staying on the beach, but worth the trip!

Nice location by the beach. Food was generally good. We got the mixed fried fish which came with squid and anchovies. It was a bit salty and oily but generally okay. The pasta emanualla which comes with clams mussels and squid was very very nice. Meal came with free bruschetta and limencello. Prices were reasonable.

really lovely location overlooking the sea - the outdoor section is on stilts directly over the beach and sea. Great seafood dishes and really friendly service. Nice way to spend a lunchtime or evening - we visited twice it was so good!
C C — Google review
It's a bit yes and no about this "restaurant". The first time we had a meal it was very good. Two nights later it was awful. First night I had a carbonara penne which was lovely as my first course followed by Hunter chicken which was okay apart from there being more bone than meat. If my rating was based on the first night then I would have probably rated a 4 or a 5. However the second night put pay to that. I had the same first course but with spaghetti and it was disgusting. This was due to the overwhelming amount of salt used in it cooking which made it inedible, so I left half (I did try my best). As a side order we had a mixed salad which looked like it had been prepared hours before and did not contain freshly prepared vegetable ingredients. When they cleared up and saw we had not really touched the salad they weren't tentative in asking if there was a problem. In conclusion it seems a bit hit and miss to give a recommendation. No consistency.

The Italian restaurant Dal Pescatore was a perfect place to stay while in Ischia. The owners and staff were incredibly kind and always went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy. We’re not sure why this place is rated 3.4, as we had a good experience here. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and lovely. The seafood was tasty and tasted fresh. The ambience was nice, and we got a nice view. Overall we enjoyed our visit.

We loved this place because of the scenic location, the very good food and the very lovely staff, including Vincenzo. (He was the charmer and the others did excellent professional work. Hey, it takes a team!) This was (surprisingly) the best pizza in town, and the pasta dishes and antipasti were also fresh, well prepared and delicious. Try the mozzarella-stuffed Zucchini flowers... really! They have great drinks including ice cold beer, the Hugo Spritz and Lemoncello Spritz. The staff and the setting provided an excellent dining experience to enhance the very good food. It's a bit pricey like most places in town, but the value for the euro is unquestionable! Loved it!

Four of us had a delicious dinner here last night. The service and food was impeccable. And they had gluten free pasta that was delicious, my husband reported back that it was fabulous. There was a little bit of a communication breakdown on how much the fresh fish would actually cost, but otherwise a wonderful meal.

Superb food. We choose starters of mussels in a sauce of lemon & capers and prawns in tomato & onions followed by a fresh bream filleted at the table. Local Rosé had run out but mainland alternative was perfect with the food. No need for dessert! Staff friendly and professional.

We visited Dal Pescatore as a group of 4. This was one of if not the only restaurant open nearby. The menu was in Italian (no English), but the waiter kindly explained each dish to us. We got mussels and pasta. The mussels were full of flavor and fairly large. The pasta was very tasty. The owner/waiters were all nice and welcoming. Overall, this was a good restaurant.

I got off the water taxi and walked right up to this cafe. I was shown all their beautiful homemade cakes and chose one one the recommendation of my waitress who said it was delicious and it absolutely was. A mix of fruit and nuts. This is my favorite restaurant on Ischia. This was actually the second time we ate here, and it was even better than two years ago. We had the set menu, portions were generous and each of the courses had distinct flavours. We paired it with a lovely bottle of a local natural wine (Bajola). Our dinner was genuinely exciting and outpaced the other Michelin guide restaurant in the town of Forio. When we return to Ischia, returning here is a no-brainer!

We had chef’s tasting menu (4 courses and dessert,65€) - it was amazing, super innovative fish dishes. If you want a non-standard Italian dining experience, I highly recommend it. The service was also excellent- friendly, polite, with dishes coming one after the other but not too quickly. Enjoyed it a lot. You have to reserve in advance in a summer season because there aren’t so many tables and it gets full!

Terme di Cavascura is a historical site with thermal springs like Cavascura, Olmitiello, and Nitrodi. The area was settled by ancient Greeks in 770 BC and features scenic canyons and footpaths leading to the thermal springs. Visitors can take a taxi boat from Sant'Angelo's square to Fumarole beach to access the springs.
It was next to the place where I was staying so I decided to try one day when the weather was not very good for the beach. Not overcrowded (maybe because it is a beginning of October), quiet, nice location and surroundings. Receptionist who speaks English and is quite nice. I had an hour of massage and a bath for extra 20 euro that could be included in the price I think. Overall not bad experience and I recommend if you stay nearby.

About as authentic an experience as you can get! Really amazing place with history literally seeping out of the walls. Staff could be a bit more interested in what they're doing and show a bit of enthusiasm but the place speaks for itself.
Andy P — Google review
The facilities are indeed ancient, like from the time of the cavemen. Though the prices are high, the personnel can't speak a word of english and isn't even friendly. They smoke right next to the smoke forbidden sign. The road there isn't good either. The Kneipp bath has quite a warm 'cold' part, no cold water in the shower either. And apart from the treatments there is nothing to do and nowhere to hide from the sun. Spend your money in other thermae. My wife tells me at least the mud was good, so one star for that.

Totally worth the experience ! Was unsure at first due to pictures, but in real life this place is so beautiful ! Had full mud, sauna and thermal bath. Felt wonderful towards my muscle aches. Recommend to go there early. Taxi boat from St. Angelo. First day we walked from St Angelo and it was a very challenging 20min walk ! 😅😱 very happy for the taxi boat on the way back

Cavascura is a very interesting experience. They offer packages including masks and massages. We took the basic hot bath in a stone tub, which was very relaxing. The sauna cave was good as well. The place is very small, so it gets crowded quickly. When we visited, it was luckily nearly empty. We took a boat ride from San Angelo to get there. To return, you have to wait at a designated pickup spot at the beach. The waiting time was about 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, you can also walk from San Angelo.

Pro's: relaxed, nature, special place, friendly, exotic, some speak English Con's: bit expensive, certain thing are on a timer, small Went on a really hot and sunny day. Took the 35€ deal, that included a bath, Turkish sauna, full body clay and chair to relax on with a parasol. Had to wait about 20 minutes before a place was available (come on time if you don't want to wait a bit). Fruit drink with ice cost 5€, that is also fine. If you arrive in porto Ischia, buy a day bus ticket and take bus #5 that goes to Monsanti and exit at the final stop, you'll have to walk around 15 minutes via the beach, including a large steep part in order to reach the place. All in all, please visit this. Paying with card is possible. Internet is quite slow here.

Nestled less than a kilometer from the charming village of Sant'Angelo lies Succhivo, a hidden gem that often goes unnoticed. This quaint district was once renowned for its wine production alongside Serrara, Fontana, and Ciglio. As you stroll through the narrow streets known as 'e curtegl' in the local Ischitan dialect, you'll be greeted by vibrant citrus groves and lush gardens that paint a picturesque scene.

Sant'Angelo is a charming car-free village with steep hills, gelaterias, and ceramic shops. It's located just a 20-minute walk from the beach where Elena Ferrante's character lost her virginity. Taverna Pietro Paolo Detto Stalino is a delightful culinary haven that you simply must experience during your visit to Ischia. Nestled in a charming alley, this cozy eatery offers an inviting atmosphere where the love for food shines through every dish. With a menu brimming with fresh, homemade options, their standout Tomato and Mozzarella Bruschetta has garnered rave reviews—many even deem it world-class!
I would give this restaurant 100 stars if I could. Everything is 100% perfect. We stayed close by for 3 nights and ate here on our first and last night. A great choice of menu. Like a previous reviews The Tomato and mozzarella is amazing... I personally would go as far as to say The Tomato and mozzarella Bruscetta is world Class. I don't think it could be bettered. The chips (French fries) are homemade And Not frozen. On my visits I had Bruscetta both times. Obviously. I also had a tomato and mozzarella based Penne pasta And the steak. All of which I could highly recommend. To finish desert we had a kind of doughnut in batter... My god it was Beautiful. I envy anyone going And I intend to return. Thankyou to this restaurant. You do an amazing job. Very pleasant staff. All are a credit to their predecessors. You would make them all proud ❤️

Don’t skip! One of those places where you never want to, nor feel like you have to, leave. Don’t sleep on the wine with peaches.

We ordered one kind of wine, brought another. Chicken with cherrry tomatoes for 2 person 13,50€, ischia fish 13€, sardines 8,5€, fried potatoes 4€, donuts 4€, sprite 3€. It was tasty. We was waiting very long. Doesn't pay attention, when we want to pay. Service didn't like, but the chef of the kitchen produces a delicious meal.

The place is in Maronti beach’s area even if a bit off the beaten track. We decided to come here because of the good reviews and were not disappointed at all. The food was delicious: we had parmigiana di melanzana as starter and pasta aglio olio e peperoncino and pasta with clams as first dishes and everything tasted great! On the top of that Vincenzo, the owner of the place, is a very special person. He came to speak with us few times and made us feel at home. The only regret that we had is that we couldn’t eat anymore! (You might want to book a table in advance because the place is often fully booked, especially during summer).

A true gem in Ischia. We walked for 3 km to get to here and almost got lost, but when we finally arrived it was all worth it. The place, the food, the service, the view, everything was perrrrrfect!

Take the water taxi from Sant Angelo to the restaurant, 4euros per person per trip. You walk a narrow alley until you reach what looks like a hole in the wall. A cozy atmosphere and relaxed sitting. Food is fresh and cooked inside the kitchen just for you. Prices are good. Food is all cooked to order. They take Visa. TiP: bring Mosquito repellant and thank me later specially in summer.

Tucked away in Ischia, O'napulitan is a delightful family-run restaurant that feels like a warm embrace from home. I stumbled upon this gem by chance and was instantly captivated by the authentic Italian dishes reminiscent of grandma's cooking. The menu features simple yet hearty meals, including mouthwatering lasagna and flavorful melanzane, all made with love by the owner and his talented family. They even cater to gluten-free diners with pasta options available!
An amazing authentic lunch made with love by the owner and his mom. We had the best melanzane and lasagna we had 🤩 meat balls were fantastic as well as rabbit dish. Highly recommended!!

We found this restaurant on accident when we took wrong bus from Sant Angelo, but it was one of the best accidents we ever had. We were fed with great home cooked meals, which tasted like something my grandma would cook. Very simple dishes, but tasty and filling! Family who runs this restaurant is very accommodating and they were considerate to our celiac needs and have gluten-free pasta on hand if needed - I heavily reccomend this place for gluten-free people.

We truly enjoy our meal in this place run by a local family. We were in a table at the terrace with impressive views. We had a great green salad to start with😊 The homemade tagliatale (one with rabbit sauce and the other with salciccia) was the cherry on the cake! The service was also super friendly! The babba dessert was also worth to mention - thank you! We'll come back

I had an unbeatable experience and I am looking forward to eating there again when I return to Ischia. 10/10! (Translated by Google) Fantastico!!! This restaurant is a bit out of the way, and we only found it because it's very close to our hotel. But it's definitely worth traveling even from further afield. It's very plain from the outside and hardly recognizable as a restaurant. But dare to go inside... The view from the terrace is simply stunning; at sunset, it's hard to beat its beauty. And the sea view is included. The service was extremely friendly; even though we don't speak Italian and they don't speak English, we got along very well. We had antipasti, bruschetta, and two pasta dishes. One was a sauce with salsoccia and the other a sauce with tomato sauce. The antipasti was very fresh and truly special; the bruschetta was crispy roasted and topped with very aromatic tomatoes. The fresh basil was unique. These appetizers would have been enough for us. The rest was just a mouthful :-) The pasta...truly perfect... I've never eaten such a good pure tomato sauce, simply delicious. The pasta with salsicchia was delicious and spicy, absolute soul food. The prices… really more than fair. I would give this great restaurant 10 stars if I could! It was a wonderful evening, and we'd definitely love to come back. (Original) Fantastico!!!

The fresh vegetable appetizer is a riot of colors and flavors, a true homage to the land. Rabbit bucatini are a real delight, the meat is tender and tasty, just as it should be. Ischia-style rabbit is a hymn to authentic taste. I have never tasted such delicious desserts! Every bite was a joy for the palate. Furthermore, the view from the terraces is simply breathtaking, with an enchanting view of the village of Sant'Angelo. There's a homely atmosphere, and the courtesy, kindness, hospitality, and beauty of the location set this place apart. Absolutely amazing experience. Our first Michelin star restaurant experience. We had lunch, the chefs choice. They were accommodating to my inability to have fish. Every course was delicious. Thank you all so much for making my birthday and our honeymoon so special.

we had the pleasure of dining at this Michelin-starred restaurant last night, and we were absolutely blown away. The food was incredible, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was simply magical. The restaurant is located in a small, romantic setting with only 4 tables. The garden is absolutely stunning, with beautiful flowers and plants, and a stunning view of the city. The food is innovative while still portraying traditional Italian cuisine, with a focus on using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the flavors are simply incredible. We had the tasting menu, and loved every single course.

What can I say? The drive to this restaurant felt like Frodo and Sam’s trek to Mordor—except our quest was for some truly fancy POH-TAH-TOES. And yes, it was absolutely worth it. Mount Epomeo, a 2,589-foot volcanic mountain located on the island of Ischia, offers a diverse range of landscapes and attractions. From sunny beaches to pine forests and green hills, the area provides ample opportunities for invigorating walks and excursions. The island's volcanic origin is evident in its eight thermo-basins, springs, geysers, and arenas known for their therapeutic properties. Additionally, the local microclimate supports exceptional fruit and vegetable production.
took me 30min from forno to the peak. Better bring good shoes and no flip flops as other tourists did. Beautiful walk with nices views! Would really recommend staying at the two restaurants (aragonese and the one on the top)

An amazing place that becomes even more beautiful during the sunset or the sunrise. The hike from Fontana is short but steep. Wearing good shoes is a must especially on the way down where it can be slippery. From the top, a 360 degrees view can be observed. You can see Capri, the Vesuve and the golf of Naples.

Worth a visit, view is spectacular. We came before 10 am, very few people. Recommended to visit early in the day both because the temperature is lower and it becomes very crowded at the top.

Fantastic mount to climb. Way is not really hard but be sure to take comfortable boots as it takes to climb about 300m from bus stop. Views are worth it, if You like nature - get in there!
Karol — Google review
Beautiful view from the top of the island. The hike is short but steep. Not for the faint of heart. Parking was full so we had to park on road down the hill.
Sam B — Google review
This morning's hike to Mount Epomeo on Ischia was nothing short of magical. As I ascended the well-trodden paths, surrounded by lush vineyards and vibrant wildflowers, I felt a deep connection with nature. The sky transformed with every step, shifting from deep indigo to the warm hues of dawn. Reaching the summit just in time, I watched the sun rise majestically over the horizon, casting golden rays across the landscape. The tranquil beauty and serene atmosphere of the mountain, coupled with the distant sparkling sea, created an unforgettable moment of peace and awe.
Rex M — Google review
Go all the way to the top if you’re up for it and have sure footing! The first hill up the long concrete road is steep, flanked by lovely local plants on either side. The dirt path up the mountain is also steep and sometimes Barry, sometimes large rocks, but not impossible (I am active and strong, but am not a Cross Fit junkie, and there were a wide variety of folks at the top). The very top of the rock might be a lot for those who are afraid of heights, but there is a guard rail to hold for balance and the view is absolutely beautiful. I got a limone arance mista juice at the top restaurant and had a heart lunch / dessert at La Porta di Agartha Ristorante afterward (a bit further back down from the tip top) which I highly highly recommend. I started around 11:30am-ish and took my time, and by the time I got to Agartha restaurant it was about 1:00pm.
Sasha N — Google review
Good to bring a walking stick or two, it helps when you reach the portion of the hike where trekkers have worn down the rocks to narrow channels over centuries. Unexpectedly, the restaurant at the top was open in mid-November. When the last 30 feet had too much vertical exposure for me, I was able to retreat to the lovely terrace and enjoy a beer while I waited for my daughter. It took me an hour to reach the top, climbing at an easy pace. I probably wouldn’t do it in mid-summer though, too hot and crowded.

(Translated by Google) The church is dedicated to S. Giacomo and the Madonna dell'Assunta, founded in 1661. It was destroyed in the earthquake of 1883 and then subsequently rebuilt. Green tuff stones were used. A curiosity, under the church passes a small water source that originates from Mount Epomeo. This church is unique in the world precisely because of its green stones on the outside. Inside it is simple but well-kept with statues representing S. Giacomo, S. Ciro and the Assumption. Probably being in a rural district of the island it is not very popular but certainly worth a stop. (Original) La chiesa è dedicata a S. Giacomo e alla Madonna dell'Assunta fondata nel 1661. Restaurant
Ristorante La Grotta da Fiore is a charming restaurant nestled atop Mount Epomeo, offering a rewarding stop after a challenging hike. The establishment is carved into the tufa on the mountain peak and provides breathtaking views across Ischia. The menu features fresh, local dishes including pasta, fish, and salads. Hikers can follow specific trail markings to reach this hidden gem with an enviable view.
Great place! A little work to get there, but well worth it! We parked down the road near a place called Miscillo Sapori and then hiked for about 20 min. The food was very good and the portions were generous. Definitely would recommend and highly suggest to reserve a table if you are planning to have a dinner in the evening. The website has a few numbers to message/call. Google provided hours are wrong and the place was open until 9pm on the day of the review.

Lovely family run restaurant on top of a mountain only accesable on foot. No you cant bike there (yes we tried), you have to leave your bikes aprox 1 km down the path. The food and price were good but the view breathtaking.

This place was a treat. The location is truely beautiful, just underneath the top of Monte Epomeo it’s the perfect reward for your hike up the mountain. The restaurant offers stunning views and everything is made by the family running the place, from the wine and limoncello to the sausages… The hosts were very friendly! I would love to return here :)

I am from Ischia and I eat in this place since ages! Is always amazing to be here! Great atmosphere, incredible food, and a view of 360 degree of the island and the iconic Aragonese Castle! Worth the trekking if you want to be there for lunch or even better for sunset! But for an evening dinner is always better to book in advance! Definitely a MUST do experience if you are in Ischia.

We made the relatively steep 3 km walk from Fontana, which is about one hour, to reach to restaurant at the top of Monte Epomeo and its amazing panoramic views of the island. Sitting at a table on the front terrace, we had the Spaghetti Epomeo, omelette con coppa and insalata pomodori con cipolla, which were all excellent. The owner guided us to another extraordinary view through the back of the restaurant and was kind to share the story of his grandfather travelling up the mountain by donkey and carving out the rock face, where the family-owned restaurant sits today.
Jakob E — Google review
This restaurant was recommended to me by a local on the bus to Monte Epomeo, and the bruschetta specifically. She was 100% correct in saying the bruschetta was delicious! The view was phenomenal, I stopped in to eat after taking photos at the peak. Many tables were "reserved" on the terrace but I still managed to find a table with a great view. The bruschetta and freshly squeezed OJ were both delicious. Would recommend!

The food was so good and the view amazing (although it was a little bit cloudy). Unfortunately we won't remember these positive things: There was a beagle, who doesn't belong to this restaurant and he looked very sick, he kept harassing our dog (jumping on him, licking him) and we couldn't keep him away. As we were concerned about our dogs health, we were glad, that at some point the owners of he restaurant lead him away. But apparently this dog comes there every day looking for food. We wouldn't go back while having a dog with us.

We had a wonderful lunch at Ristorante La Grotta da Fiore. The food was incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and the portions were generous. Every dish was delicious, and we especially appreciated the explanation about the rabbit and how it was prepared—it’s clear they take real pride in their cooking. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The waiters and owners were genuinely friendly and attentive. You can tell they truly care about the service—they don’t just bring food to the table, they make sure you enjoy the full experience. To top it all off, they surprised us with a big bag of fresh basil and some chillis to take home! 🤩 Such a thoughtful gesture. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic food, kind people, and a memorable dining experience.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming village of Serrara Fontana, Ristorante Taverna Verde da Morzariello is a culinary gem with a rich history spanning nearly fifty years. This family-run establishment specializes in traditional local rabbit dishes, showcasing ingredients sourced from nearby farms. The ambiance captures the essence of authentic Italian dining, making it feel like a true slice of Italy.
Authentic and so divine! You don’t need a menu when you come to the Taverna Verde! Just take their rabbit and go for the full menu, including the pasta with rabbit ragu - such a dish full of taste, flavor. The rabbit (I’d suggest half a rabbit for 2, if you had the pasta before) comes in a dish which is still boiling and when tasting it, you’ll be amazed by the tenderness, love and passion put behind it. Cooked in an open fire oven, this just tastes so good. Try out the local wine, it was hot when we were there and we enjoyed the cold white wine, full of the island’s volcanic flavours.

If you want to try one of the island’s most typical dishes, coniglio all’ischitana, this restaurant is a must. The staff is super friendly and advised us well on the food and wine selection. With its nice location on the hill side you have a nice view and can enjoy the sunset as well.

Delicious food. Nice people. Great homemade wine- we tried the white and the red. Lovely dog, Mocha, who loves belly rubs. While they immediately told us their specialty was rabbit, they were able to make us a delectable vegan spread!!! So fresh. Highly recommend!

The most authentic meal of Ischia me and my wife have had in our entire 2 weeks here. Both the rabbit and the wine we’re products of the house and incredibly delicious. Literally finger licking good! You have to get the coniglio (rabbit) and eat it with your hands, the Ischian way, as we were told by our waitress. The white wine was very suave, we enjoyed it very much. The prices was also very appropriate.

Visited Ischia for the first time & wanted to try the famous Ischian rabbit dish. Our hotel (Villa Bina) recommended Taverna Verde & it was wonderful. We don’t speak Italian and the staff was so nice and helpful with us; explained everything. The traditional format to the dinner is a starter, pasta with the tomato’s the rabbit is cooked in & then the Coniglio all'Ischitana itself (which you can share). Everything was delicious & you can tell made with love. Absolutely give them a try and don’t be nervous at all!

When we thought we had run out of fun things to do, a friend suggested a visit to Ristorante Taverna Verde on the island of Ischia. We called ahead to book a table for 19:30, and our host (Ernesto) was very gracious in making the booking. All in all, it was quite an amazing experience, and… Only one Coniglio was harmed in the making of this production. For the stages, we began bruschetta pomodori with a small portion of Coniglio Lasagna, followed by (not spaghetti) al dente bucatini, followed by the most honorable Coniglio, followed by several desserts: Baba Rhum, Torta Carota, and Torta Caprese (chocolate cake with coarsely ground almonds). All in all, an incredible experience and “il Cesare” (our service dog) did not go hungry while waiting under our table. Our hosts, Gabrielle and Ernesto, were most gracious and pleasantly conversive throughout our meal.

During a recent vacation, I stumbled upon Ristorante Il Delfino and was impressed by its outstanding food and service. The owner, Giuseppe, showcased the fresh fish they had caught that day, adding to the remarkable experience. The warm ambiance of the place made me feel welcome, prompting me to return for a second night. With their delicious bruschetta and fresh fish dishes paired with delightful wine selections, this restaurant truly offers the best of the best.
The best place we ate in Ischia, amazing seafood and lovely staff. 100% recommend, would have eaten here every night if given the chance!

We came two persons for the late dinner. Antipasti MIX was amazing and cost 25€, but pasta with prawns and other with some kind of crab were tasteless :( Also the fish was offered as fillet, but came out as a full fish which cost around 70€. So i total with bottle of wine (20€), beer for my husband and some side dishes, we spent 180€. Everything would be nice and the price would be ok, if taste in all dishes would be better. In this case, price was way too high.

We arrived with a family of 3, and asked if we could sit in a table of 4, which had 2 tables together. We were told no, that it is for bigger company. After us came a party of 3, and they were okay to sit to that table. We ordered 8 euros lasagnes and it came out from the microwave, so we really didn't feel to try any bruschetta or anything else after that. And won't be returning.

We and ALL the diners around us had to ask for the waiters' attention several times. The boss/manager/owner was chatting with his italian diner friends instead of helping his own staff. The food is extremely ordinary: The service fee IS NOT WORTH €7! Finally, the table we were assigned was dirty, it even had an empty bottle of wine with a chiller next to me that was NEVER removed during our entire service. The hostess who charged us, in a bad mood… This “restaurant” is the typical tourist trap, NOT RECOMMENDED.

The mushroom pasta was breathtakingly good. The best wine I’ve ever had in my entire life. Try their local red wine, you will not regret it!

I never expect great things from a tourist restaurant, and this one was no exception. Apart from the beautiful location, there's not much to save: the appetizer with peppered mussels and cold cuts was decent. The pasta with porcini mushrooms, on the other hand, is forgettable – watery, bland, and flavorless. The ribeye was good (difficult to mess up), although they didn't inquire about my preferred level of doneness (luckily, it arrived rare, as I prefer, but not everyone likes it that way), but it was accompanied by a meager serving of "vegetables" (essentially half a grilled zucchini). The bill was in line with the prices in the area, but beware: there was an error, albeit a minor one – I was charged for an extra bottle of water, so make sure to carefully check the bill. Very slow service.
D C — Google review
Good food (except the salad as another reviewer has already said) but CAUTION when ordering as we ended up two unnecessary and not very good 8 euro salads because the waiter asked "chips or salad with that?" as if an included choice. They wouldn't remove it, so I won't go there again. Anyway, I felt this was disingenuous as we could have ordered anything from the contorni (side dishes) if we had wanted. This is a cheap tactic from an otherwise decent and relatively expensive place. Also,, don't like the fact that the colourful plates that dress the table are recycled countless times without being washed. And everyone touches them and some look a little grubby on close inspection but sometimes you are expected to eat off them.......

Overpriced for what it is. We had an aubergine pasta, carbonara pasta and a Bresaola salad. The two pastas were okay, none of us finished them. The salad in the other hand was delicious, but ruining a salad is difficult. We also had regular 3 beers and paid 75 euros. The service was good and friendly.

We didn't like the salad with tuna 12eur. Steak was not good, lot of rat for 24eur. Wine was ordinary for 6.5eur per glass. We left the food, waiter didn' t care if customers are satisfied. Manager was aggressive, German speaking Asian guy. He however suggested us another salad or desert instead. We didn't want anything more, he forced us to pay or to go to police. We left the place hungry, nervous and unsatisfied. Never going there again.

Food and drinks were amazing! I loved it. Gabriele made a fantastic long island ice tea and suggested the perfect white wine for my food!

A restaurant with a great atmosphere and very pleasant and fast service. My wife and I ordered the seafood risotto and the food was absolutely amazing. It was a concert of the taste buds. The prices are a bit higher, but they are completely in line with the quality. I can only recommend the restaurant.

Absolute gem! Affordable, beautifully presented dishes with friendly and attentive staff. Great position with views of the marina. Sadly, we are leaving tomorrow. Well, it's worth a visit.

Tl;dr: we had a great experience. Great food, service and location. We went to Ciccio on an early Tuesday evening upon a recommendation by a local friend. We got there early and were seated right away. We were 4 adults, 1 teen and a 2 1/2 year old. We had a few local appetizers like stuffed zucchini flowers and zuppa di cozze ( mussel soup). And then most of us ordered pizzas as main dish. Pizzas were great. See photos. The stuffed zucchini flowers are a local speciality. They come filled with cheese and sometimes there is also a little bit of prosciutto crudo added. They are briefly fried and served warm. A must try! Especially because it is difficult to find zucchini flowers elsewhere. A total and unexpected very positive surprise was for me the zuppa di cozze. It’s a mussel “soup” but you can compare it a little bit to French moules marinières. We just happened to be a week prior to Ischia in La Baule, a fancy coast town in the Bretagne. We had moules marinieres there and those tasted like nothing. The zuppa di cozze on the orher hand was a dream full of flavor. You should definitely try. We paired our meal with local wine, a white Bianconello from Casa d’Ambra. If in Ischia, try the local wines. They are hard to come by outside Ischia and much more expensive even in Naples. Ischia is a volcanic Island and it has a wide variety of grapes and hence wines to try. I could leave this review as is but I must tell about how the host went way beyond to help me recover something I left behind. I discovered the next day that I forgot something but the restaurant was closed in the morning and we left for Naples to spend there a few days before heading back home. Giovanni went all out and managed to get my left behind on a ferry for me to pick up in Naples at the harbor 2 days later! That is dedication. Thank you Giovanni! We will be back. PS: I recommend making a reservation. We tried going a few days prior at regular dinner hour and the wait was 40 min. The night we were there, it filled up pretty quickly.

We had dinner twice, sampling pizzas, pasta, and appetizers. The owner was a very hospitable host, the wait staff was very attentive, and the food was some of the best we’ve had during the 17 day trip. The clams and spaghetti were particularly good, as was the filet of sea bass. They are described as a pizzeria, which is true, but this restaurant has much more to offer than pizza.

One of the best meals we had in Ischia, highly recommend if you’re in Forio! The service was great, and the food even better.

Stunning patio overlooking the sea with formal, thoughtful service and an excellent menu! The best of Forio. This was the best introduction to the luxury of Italian dining culture - we were able to sit, slowly enjoy incredible food and wine pairings, and take in the view. This was the first restaurant that we went to on Ischia and we simply loved the experience. 🇮🇹🤍🇨🇦

Restaurant
Ristorante Pizzeria La Tinaia is a delightful culinary gem that offers a diverse menu featuring pizzas, meat and fish dishes, as well as tempting crepes and ice cream. This charming venue welcomes guests all day long, making it an ideal spot for any meal. You can savor traditional options like the classic bruschetta or indulge in vegan-friendly sides such as fried potatoes and zucchini. The pasta selections are equally enticing, with spaghetti topped with rich tomato sauce being a standout choice.
Super delicious and such a nice atmosphere! I had the best seafood risotto I’ve ever tried here. The service was excellent as well. Sitting outside was very pleasant, the temperature was just right. Overall, a wonderful experience.

This is the busiest place in town. Italians usually eat late but to get in they are going early, the place is packed by 8pm. They take your name and you can wait outside, looked like a 30-40 min wait. They do takeaway pizzas & you don’t have to wait as long, they discount the by €2 so 2pizzas cost us €11… bargin and best pizza I’ve had (though I’m not a lover of pizza) these were not soggy, dough light & toppings tasty. The rest of the menu sounded great, the only place that did risotto but I didn’t want to wait that long. They don’t take reservations just just come & see

We really enjoyed our first visit, so we came back just a couple of days later! It does get crowded, but the service remains professional and efficient, so the wait time is very reasonable. The food is tasty, and the prices are truly some of the best in the area. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful evening here the other night and loved it so much we went back again tonight. We enjoyed the bruschetta, grilled fish, fresh limone pasta, tomato salad and gelato to finish it off. The servers are friendly and patient with our attempts to order in Italian. The food is amazing and at just the right price. Grazie La Tinaia - we will be back!

A wonderful restaurant in the heart of Forio. Pizza and eggplant parmigiana were absolutely delicious and the lambrusco wine was fabulous. Great service and nice atmosphere. We are looking forward to going back on our next visit to Forio.

Perched atop the luxurious Miramare e Castello hotel, Restaurant La Lampara is a true gem in Ischia Porto that pays homage to the island's rich fishing heritage. With its elegant ambiance and breathtaking views of the castle, especially at sunset, it offers an unforgettable dining experience. The menu features an array of fresh seafood delights like fritto misto and grilled fish, alongside enticing daily specials that promise generous portions.
Great Food, amazing views definitely worth visiting. Best dishes, grilled mussels, the eggplant is rolled was incredible. All food was excellent. Highly recommend.

The restaurant and view are amazing. The wait staff and service as well. The food is a little underwhelming while being a little high on the price side. All in all not a bad place to have a romantic dinner looking over the ocean.

This review is long overdue, but I must share what an absolute treat it was to have our wedding reception dinner and aperitivo here at La Lampara in July 2023. The dinner created by Chef Ciro Calise was so delicious and stunningly beautiful. We had five courses and each course was a work of art. Many guests - all passionate "foodies" said this was the best food they've ever had. We want to thank Anna and her team for organizing the most beautiful and memorable wedding evening for us. We had been looking forward to the dinner at La Lampara for over a year and wow did it deliver!! It surpassed our expectations in every way. The views were breathtaking and the entire evening was just magical. And I want to call out a special thanks to Chef Ciro and his team for accommodating our guests' special dietary restrictions. One of my friends can't eat egg, dairy or gluten and Chef Ciro not only accommodated her for each dinner course, but made her a special plate of appetizers just for her at the aperitivo hour. It made her so happy she was practically brought to tears. Thank you to everyone at La Lampara for being so wonderful to work with and for giving us the wedding dinner and evening of our dreams.

Fantastic place with amazing views and fabulous food. It's pricey but worth it and the service is attentive and friendly. 39 Euro for 5 lobster ravioli in a bowl is what you can expect, but it's damn good!

We usually have a rule about avoiding hotel restaurants, however La Lampara is an exception. We had a long lunch here with friends and a young baby. This is an elegant venue with an upscale menu. The service was extraordinary and the food was considered and well presented. The stunning view is the cherry on top. We really enjoyed talking to our waiter who was incredibly knowledgeable about Italian wines. The on-the-house amuse bouches were heavenly and interesting. We also greatly enjoyed our other dishes. Well done to the chef! We highly recommend a dinner or lunch here if you consider yourself a foodie!
Katherine M — Google review
This was one of very few places open for lunch on a weekday in the off-season. We came dressed in our touristing clothes since we were hiking up to the castle, and I was a bit worried we were underdressed for the restaurant. However, the staff was kind and not judgemental. They even brought us a complimentary shrimp and calamari carpaccio appetizer. I had the risotto al limone, and my husband had a fried calamari and shrimp dish. We were pleasantly surprised with the large portions - being such a fancy restaurant we expected the portions to be tiny! The food was delicious! The bill was also less than I expected given the decor of the place.
