Park
Parc Natural del Delta de l'Ebre is a vast wetland nature reserve in Catalonia, known for its diverse birdlife and stunning landscapes. The park encompasses rivers, dunes, and beaches, offering visitors a chance to reconnect with nature. It's a popular destination for bird watching and photography, with numerous hides providing opportunities to observe flamingos and glossy ibis. The area's rich agricultural heritage adds to its charm, making it an ideal escape from the modern world.
What an amazing place to ride a bike. The rice paddies were so full of birds. It was magical.
TA L — Google review
It is a truly beautiful place. Full of birds, with unforgettable and unique landscape. Sense of calm and openness. Definitely worth visiting. All you need is a car or a bike, some time. Ride between birdwatching platforms, stop for a while, look around, listen. Totally worth it.
Paweł M — Google review
Great Natural Park This was a great place to visit and very memorable for the kids. It is a truly beautiful place, full of birds, and a beautiful landscape. The only drawback was that there where lots and lots of flying insects even on the beach. I guess it was summer so that is the main reason. It is definitely worth visiting and is highly recommend by us!
Paul V — Google review
Back to nature. Rice Paddie fields. Flamingos and other birds that you only see in a Zoo. Great sunsets and empty sandy beaches. All for free.
Rob W — Google review
Endless beaches with incredible landscapes for backdrop. Perfect for outdoor sports or relaxing and perhaps best experienced in a van. Sense of freedom and disconnection from a bygone era. Some of the best traditional rice dishes in Spain.
Jon H — Google review
The boat tour on the river is just amazing. It is approximately 5 km in each direction. The rice fields, the flying birds, the empty and wild sandy beaches could be seen in the park. And the markers of the highest point of the area is on the left beach.
Plamen K — Google review
We visited mainly for bird watching but also to appreciate the beauty of the landscape. It's a large area and we only had 3 hours, but we manage to see a lot. You do need a car or a bike really. There are 3 lakes close together on the south coast with several hides, so we headed there, and visited about 4 hides, that was enough for us. Observatori de la Tancada was best for Flamingos (1000+), and Reserva Natural Riet Vell for Glossy Ibis (100+). The highest concentration of other birds, including harriers, seemed to be in the rice fields and agricultural land, where you can usually just pull in at the side of the road. Also enjoyed the enormous beach at the end of the lake road, Platja del trabucador. Plenty of maps around the reserve and bird id charts, we printed ours off the website before arrival so we could plan our day. Didn't find any toilets so guess you will have to buy a drink in a local bar or cafe if you want one.
Janey C — Google review
This is a great place to visit, with a variety of activities including Boat Rides, lots of walking trails, wild beach and beauty spots. This are is the rice growing region so lots of great Paella can be found. Anti mosquito repellant is essential dont go without it!

Awesome adventures for kids and adults. Zipline, quad, climbing, archery, zoo, canoe... absolutely worth it! Staff is the greatest ever, incredibly likeable. Some attractions could do with a bit of renovation, but that just adds to the kick.

(Translated by Google) It's an amazing place. They have a quad bike circuit, exotic animals like emu animals, an obstacle course, kayaking, which is what my partner and I did, and their grill restaurant. Regarding the staff, they were very nice. They treated us wonderfully, gave us advice, and were very friendly. A great welcome! Highly recommended. Outdoor Activities
Playa Riumar is a serene 4km stretch of golden sand and shallow blue waters, featuring undulating sand dunes and picturesque views. It's a popular spot for kite surfers and dog owners, with plenty of space for both activities. This beach is known for being less crowded than others in Catalonia, making it an ideal place to relax or learn kite surfing. While there are no public transport options, affordable accommodations can be found nearby.
Simply perfect! Long Beach with super clear water and sand. Lots of options for water activities from volleyball to kayaks to padel surf. The dunes are beautiful and the wooden walkways leading to the beach are what set this beach apart. The water is shallow for a while so it’s Very comfortable for families. There are restaurants to have food or takeaway a drink, and parking!
Allison G — Google review
Nice beach to visit with kids. A lot of space, warm shallow clean water. Quiet.
Stas Z — Google review
Verry calm and clean. It's worth to notice that there might be storms and bad weather in the months October, November and the winter. The place is not to crowded most of the year, perfect for a fammily vacation.
Szymon — Google review
This is a beautiful beach and one of the best beach to learn kite surfing. There are no tourist at this beach only few locals. There are many kite surfers on a good wind day. The beach is big so there is a lot of space for kite surfing. There are no public transport to reach here. You have to have your own vehicle. There are bnb at a reasonable price close to this beach

Mediterranean restaurant
At Restaurant Vistamar, many tourists choose to dine outdoors despite the sweltering summer heat. The staff outside may not be the most reliable, as one customer was told to return in an hour for a table. However, it would have been helpful if she had been informed that there were available tables inside. Only after she personally checked and spoke to someone indoors did she secure a table.
Super place to have menu del dia in the area. The rice was very good, the same quality if you compare to valencian restaurants in Albufera. Prices were very reasonable as well 👌🏼
Greta — Google review
Very good food, at a nice price. Service very good.
Rudi B — Google review
We came here for the food and the views over the sea. We found the food (great dishes mixed with average ones) but definitely not the views as the dunes are hiding the seashore. Although a few dishes were very good (ortiguillas or prawns), main dish -paella- was too dry and overcooked. Still quite good for the price. Illustration: 3 dish menu -without drinks- for 22€ Labels: 2eat, #mediterranean, #terrace
Marc L — Google review
Really nice experience. Good food and very friendly personnel. Thank you very much!
Carmen N — Google review
It’s a rare thing to discover places with honest, good food, places that aren’t tourist traps, with lovely, welcoming service. “Vistamar” is all that, and more: the starters - whichever route you take - are delicious. Arrosejat, the local “meloso” paella-like dish based on fish stock with mejillones and almejas clams, is a masterpiece. All in a wonderful setting, overlooking the dunes, a stone throw away from the beach - it’s reassuring places like that still exist, and it’s a privilege to be able to still visit them.
P. — Google review
Great location in front of the beach, food is very good (not great) and service is ok… good “degustación “ menu to try several starters… make sure you make reservations if want to sit outside.
Jose T — Google review
Excellent paellas and squid rice, but for me the star was the octopus with allioli, absolutely brilliant! All very good, and the staff is really nice and friendly. The restaurant is very well located just a few meters from the beach. If you are in the area, stop by and enjoy!!

Restaurant Tramontano is a delightful spot for groups, offering a warm and accommodating atmosphere that makes dining with friends or family a breeze. With ample space to handle larger parties, the staff ensures everyone feels welcome and well taken care of. The menu features generous portions at an affordable price point, including fresh dishes like their standout salad Tramontano.
Absolutely fabulous food and very generous portions. The service is excellent, the view great towards the Ebro river, if you choose the outside tables. The shade is great, so even on a hot day, you can enjoy the outdoor seating. Good for kids as well as there is enough open space for them to run around. The fideuá, clams starter and the crema catalana with wild rice are absolutely recommendable.
Szandra P — Google review
We were a large group, around 15 people, and the restaurant staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. Very happy to cope with a large number of people, coming and going (some of us were in a rush to go to the wakeboarding next door - also good), and looked after us really well. The food was relatively basic but there was a lot in each helping, and it was fresh and well-cooked. The salad Tramontano was amazing. Very happy with our experience. Thank you, Restaurant Tramontano!

Lovely location that overlooks the river. The outdoor covered seating was very pleasant on the hot summer's day that I was there. From Monday to Friday this restaurant offers a fixed price menu. In regards to the price, you won't find cheaper in touristic areas of the Delta such as this. First course of the menu was a very basic salad. It's not bad, but the ingredients are minimal (tomatoes, lettuce, olives, onion and tuna from what I can remember). However, the second course is a very tasty and generous dish of paella. Definitely the highlight of the restaurant in my opinion.
Thirsty H — Google review
Good food, good place but service was less than average.
Laurent L — Google review
They have a decent menu for 12 euros. Salad, a dish of squids, and "paella". Paella wasn't marvelous but you cannot expect much more for this price. Also, out of the fixed menu, they have a wide range of different options for taste. Good service and nice views. The river is just beside the restaurant. There are some spaces for parking around. You will find Cruisers to see "the delta del Ebro" and some a couple of fishing game business a few yards from the restaurant. I would recommend call them before you go if you go at busy hours ( In Spain, let say from 14:30 to 15:30).
Dani H — Google review
Typical restaurant. Shaded terrace Got paella on a Sunday for 17€ complete menu: 3 course plus bread and coffee and wine. Loads of good rice but needs more seafood
Alex G — Google review
I get it's a seafood restaurant but to have no seafood free options for the daily menu... Fail. The lamb chops were passable, the French fries cold. Bread was stake. Had to wait 20 minutes before anyone took our order.

Seafood restaurant
If you're looking for a seafood feast, Gran Buffet "La Gaya" is the place to be! Nestled near the port, this bustling restaurant offers an impressive array of buffet options that include everything from fresh shellfish to delicious paellas and mouthwatering desserts. Families will appreciate the unlimited seafood offerings, making it a fantastic choice for both adults and kids alike. However, be prepared for a bit of chaos as it can get quite busy—arriving early is key to snagging a table.
One of the best in the area, best quality seafood, unique landscape, rice fields, etc…
Criss T — Google review
We went to this place to try the local seafood and were not disappointed. They have an overwhelming amount of seafood on the buffet, as well as paellas, sarsuellas, raw food, hot food, deserts, you name it. The quality was not the absolute best i found in a buffet, but definitely good. All the shellfish are kind of hard to open and they are served cold. Not a dealbreaker, but i think they can improve on the cooking method to make the meat come off the shell a little easier. They have wine, sangrias and soft drinks, i didnt see a full bar menu. The buffet price was €20 per person. All in all a nice place to try all kinds of food from this area of Spain. What we didnt like: the restaurant says it opens at 10:30, but the buffet opens at 1 PM. There is no other food served here, not sure what the deal is. Came back at 1:05 PM and there was a huge queue outside. The lady didn’t bother telling us we could have take a number earlier to avoid the wait. (About 20 mins). All in all, a good experience to try different kinds of seafood and dishes. One more note, the people here (customers) were rude and aggressive. Usually people in Spain are very nice and polite, so maybe there were just the tourists (strange, everyone spoke spanish around us). It was a feeding frenzy with people pushing you out of the way, skipping the line and grabbing food with their bare hands. Maybe its different in this part of Spain.
Chip G — Google review
Very good experience. Cannot imagine the quality and quantity of seafood you can enjoy. It is difficult to taste everything, but you have to go if you want to experience a real good thing! Reservation are well organizated, because you need booking your table on their web. The crew was amazing and kind. Congratulations… if you are keen on fresh seafood, this is the place… for sure!
HELECHO A — Google review
Dirty, long wait, if you are used to the fresh seafood served at any half decent coastal restaurant, DO NOT GO HERE. It’s a VERY EXPENSIVE buffet. The quality of the food is EXTREMELY BASIC for the price. Most of the food was cold. The waitress knew nothing about the two wine options they had. It was very crowded and noisy. Regarding prices: 29,90€ per person DOESN’T INCLUDE 21% IVA!!!!! Toilets were smelly. Not a great experience for seafood at the Delta de l’Ebre.
Heidi G — Google review
If you love seafood, this is the place to be! The buffet offers a wide variety of fresh options for seafood lovers, along with plenty of other dishes if seafood isn’t your thing. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during high season.
Felipe B — Google review
Best place for sea food lovers, but i had to wait more than half an hour to get in.
Thomas — Google review
We've been dreaming of going there for a long time, but it's always closed, today we were driving past and stopped in. The choice is very small, the fish and seafood are poorly cleaned, and the desserts are generally shameful. For 2 beers, 2 juices and 1 cash, they charged us an additional 24€. We no longer dream of getting here.
Sofia G — Google review
If you like to eat a lot of food this is the place. They do cram a lot of people in though.

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Far del Fangar, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Pont Penjant Amposta. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

Hiking area
Far del Fangar is a striking red and white lighthouse situated on a secluded strip of land, accessible only by foot or bike. The journey begins at the Platja de la Marquesas parking lot, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea on one side and picturesque green or brown rice fields on the other. Despite the challenging walk, the sounds of waves and birds create a tranquil atmosphere that melts away stress. Upon arrival, visitors will find themselves surrounded by sandy beaches resembling a desert landscape.
We walked for about 2 hours to get to the lighthouse. All g the seashore. That was a wonderful walk however avoid hours between. 12 to 15. You'll burn your feet.
Carla M — Google review
Very nice walk from La Marquesa beach parking lot. It is about 4km following the beachside to get to the lighthouse. When you get there, don't expect to find a shop a visitor site or a wc. Just sandy beaches that resemble the desert. Ah, and don't miss the way back using an "inland" trail next to the bird nesting reserve. It's.about 1 km longer way back but it is worth the sight!
Oriol C — Google review
Great area to enjoy tranquility and mesmerising views of sandy dunes and the sea. The lighthouse reminds you of those ones in the movies, in the middle of nowhere. Quite a pretty and enjoyable bare-feet walk by the sea.
Pablo R — Google review
Around 6 to 7 Kms of walk altogether along the beach.
Samra S — Google review
Dirtiest beach I ever seen in Spain. Lighthouse is beautiful/simple. Long walk 3-4km one way.
Vera B — Google review
Spend as much time as necessary to find that person, place or thing that will guide you in the moments when you are most lost. When you find your lighthouse, it will show you the way to your destiny. As it happened to me one afternoon at the Fangar beach, at the Ebro Delta. The wind was blowing so hard that we could hardly take two steps in a row without losing balance. Moreover, it seemed as if all the sand on the beach wanted to end up on our faces. It was hard to see where we were going and we were about to give up. But then it appeared. At first it was just a silhouette, but as we moved forward, the Fangar lighthouse guided us to a sunset like we had never seen before.
David G — Google review

Ecomuseu of the Ebro Delta offers a guided tour that delves into the park's origin and history, showcasing features like ullal and a laud, a traditional boat. The museum includes an aquarium and a garden with various plants. Visitors can explore a traditional house and learn about the area's natural history. The staff is known for being friendly and helpful, offering valuable information about the delta, including its rice cultivation and local animals.
A very well presented and informative museum. The history of the Delta and its people. Outdoor mock ip of the canals and rice fields. An excellent aquarium. We bought dome rice to take home from the shop.

Nice little museum. Little aquarium also, but a lot of the tanks seemd empty. Verry clean place and the staff seemd nice. Nice little garden with all tipes of vegetables, trees and plants. We did not see the movie, it was suppsed to be around that garden but we did not find it on the way.

Concepts for ecotourism are there but the exhibits, particularly in the aquarium were disappointing with some fish in seemingly poor health and small tanks, one large bass completely alone in a small tank for example. Otherwise, there's is good information about the surrounding area and the history

Long queue for people wanting to talk to tourist information when we just wanted to pay 2 euros to look around the museum. It shut for lunch which meant we only had 30 mins but I don't think it needs much more than this (staff were surprised we would want to do it that quickly). Few interesting exhibits and mini aquarium.

Located just a short distance from Deltebre and the scenic Ecomuseu, it's an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. A leisurely walk along the Ebro path leads you to stunning viewpoints like Moli dels Mirons, perfect for catching breathtaking sunsets in winter.
Functional bridge, gets you from one side of the river to the other side. The Catalan flag is a nice decorative touch (see picture)

Pont Penjant Amposta is a stunning suspension bridge that gracefully spans the Ebro River, offering visitors a glimpse into its rich history dating back to 1921. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this bridge not only serves as an architectural marvel but also provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. As you cross it, you'll feel an enchanting connection to the town's past and present.
Amazing historic Bridge. Good description of it's History also in English. Beautyful scenery from the Bridge. And the old steel construction is very fine, too. Free access by country road, also with small boardwalks on both Sides. I also could get with my bicycle to a boardwalk for photos.

Well, where do we start ? The place has about 6 tables. We arrived at 8:30pm and 3 tables were open but the waitress indicated that all tables were reserved and we could not be seated. We placed an order to go for 4 people and the wait-time was 90mns. We came back 90 amns later and 2 of the orignally free tables were still free and we had to wait another 20mns for our order to be ready. By the time we left, there were still 3 free tables..... Total wait-time for a take-out order for 4: 1hr50mns They also got part of order wrong: we ordered japanese noodles but received fried rice (?). Sushi: salmon and tuna nigiri were fine. Amaebi was small; the heads are normally tempura-style fried; Not at Sushi MC. The shrimps were small. Typical sushi with lots of rice to fill you up. Stay away from the fancy combinations. I had one with Jamon and BBQ sauce ... ? The waitress was unintrerested. In short: there are much better options, unless you have lots of time to kill.

(Translated by Google) I have been eating sushi at Sushi MC for more than two years. During this time I have gone to dine there and pick up orders quite a few times. I always take advantage of the days of "Sushi Fan Days" to order for pickup, since they give you a discount that is really appreciated. In my opinion, the sushi they make is of very good quality, so if you want to eat good sushi I recommend these: - Uramaki tuna balfegó and avocado and Salmon and avocado - Futomaki Chicken and Classic If you want to try one of their "torrades" I recommend the salmon one, it melts in your mouth and the combination is brutal. Another thing they make very good is the Katsu Tori, the rice is always on point and the chicken with panko is great. The gyozas are homemade and the Pao Bao is always a good bet. Last but not least, the desserts. The mochis have different flavors, the cheesecake one is brutal. The nutella dorayaki, banana tempura and the nutella and banana bao are my suggestions if you don't know what to choose. My photos are from when I have gone to eat at the restaurant and when I have gone to pick up an order. (Original) Llevo más de dos años comiendo sushi en Sushi MC. Mis fotos son de cuando he ido a comer al restaurante y de cuando he ido a recoger un pedido.

Nestled along the serene riverside, Racó del Riu is a culinary gem that offers an exquisite dining experience. Here, you can indulge in creatively presented dishes featuring mussels, prawns, and eel, all while enjoying the picturesque views from their charming terrace. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly their paella made with locally sourced rice, which showcases the region's rich flavors.
VERY busy even at 13h on a Friday tho it is August. Lots of tourists and locals too. Best to book in advance but we and others were lucky to get in, some had a small wait sitting outside in the shade with drinks. Service impeccable! Very organised. Food delicious tho we didn't particularly like our desserts. A bit expensive, but generous portions. Good wine by the glass too. Impressive location right beside the bridge and river Ebro.

It is a nice place close to the Ebro river, we are sourrounded of the natural local food and you can enjoy them in that restaurant, but in our case the duck rice were not balanced with an excellent underlayer taste, but covered by too much salt and oil, so we could glimpse the wonderful taste of the Ebro land but not amplified by the cooking, maybe we will give a second chance but nit at the level

An Unfortunate sour ending to a long awaited visit. Following a long absence, we recently revisited a restaurant we had once held in high regard. Our meal — a selection of seafood and meats — was a mixed experience: the seafood was excellent, but the meats were regrettably overcooked. Nevertheless, the overall quality and ambience were satisfactory and initially met our expectations. However, the experience was significantly marred by issues with the bill. Contrary to assumptions that such incidents only occur in less reputable establishments, even well-regarded restaurants like this one can fall short. We were initially overcharged by 30 euros. Upon raising the discrepancy, a second version of the bill was presented — this time with a 40 euro error. Only after a third inquiry was the bill corrected, reflecting the appropriate charge for two glasses of wine. It is difficult to believe that local patrons would be treated similarly. Visitors are advised to request an itemised bill and to verify all charges carefully to avoid any unfortunate surprises. It was a disappointing conclusion to a lunch we had so looked forward to, and it has regrettably altered our view of a once-beloved establishment. We will not be rushing back.

Fantastic seafood, shared an amazing paella full of flavour. But overall, I would highlight the quality of the gluten free bread, probably the best I have ever had. Staff were really helpful with accomodating with catering for celiacs. Nice views and atmosphere.

This is a really nice place with a great view from the terrace. We tried 2 local beers, the mussels in sauce and the American burger. The beers were good, served nice and cold. The ambiance was also very nice and I already mentioned the view. The food on the other hand was not bad, but not amazing either. I asked for the burger to be medium and it was well done, but still pretty tasty. The mussels were a little fishier than others we tried in the area, i think this is because of the sauce, it was not very flavorful. All in all, we would come back to this place to try other dishes as well. Dinner for 2: beers, burger and mussels was €35. This is cheap for this restaurant, most of their seafood dishes are around £25 each. If you go for a lot of seafood, expect the check to be a lot more. Also, please note that unlike most of Spain, this area (al of Ebro Delta) does bot include IVA (Sales Tax) in the menu prices. Expect 21% extra on top of everything that you order. Feels like back home in the US, only the sales tax is 3x more.

We made a reservation. The host was very unfriendly. We asked to sit outside. There were tables enough free outside. Because it was a little late the host was rude and unpolite. he pretended to have other guests coming. but given that they were closing in an hour, he didn't feel like seeing us anymore. this was not communicated at the time of booking. inside it is an old-fashioned and very uncomfortably lit restaurant. the hospitality is far below standard here. not recommended for tourists. the card is otherwise limited and expensive. we did not get to taste the food. but that is also not necessary. because a restaurant is not a food barn and the friendliness and reception of the host is just as important.

One of the best paellas I have tried. Amazing variety of fish dishes. Reserve your table in advance as the place is full Slight hiccup is that the place is quite open so with a lot of ppl in create a constant noise.

It’s a nice place! It’s almost full at lunch time even during the week! Very good service! I like this chipirón con alcachofa very much. This plate was big, they kindly offered me to take away what I couldn’t finish. But the navajas a la plancha I didn’t like, it was over cooked. The service was good!

Restaurant Cafeteria Criscar is a delightful spot that truly captures the essence of Spanish culture. Known for its impressive lunch menus, diners should be mindful of portion sizes as they can be quite generous! The prices are very reasonable, making it an ideal choice for families and individuals alike. Although it doesn't open in the evenings, this local gem has become a beloved gathering place for residents. With its charming ambiance and beautiful decor that continues to evolve, it's no wonder people keep coming back.

Nestled at the starting point of your Punta del Fangar adventure, Restaurant Vascos serves as a perfect pit stop before you embark on a scenic walk to the iconic Far del Fangar. This charming eatery, reminiscent of a cozy fisherman's hut yet equipped with modern air conditioning, offers an inviting atmosphere for diners.
After a good walk on the beach of Punta del Fangar, a restaurant that looks like a fisherman's hut but with air conditioning. An extensive wine list, varied dishes (their "fideuada de peix" is delicious), and a rice liqueur as a digestive. Not to mention a team that takes care of you!

Nice seafood. I recommend the little clams (“tellarines”). The monkfish with mushroom sauce was tasty, but the creamy mushroom sauce kills a bit the taste of the fish. Perhaps go for the cod tempura with sweet sauce. I would have “menjar blanc” for dessert. It’s a cream made from rice flour and almond powder, typical in this region.

Food is good. But on parking is prohibited to park the car. there are "no stopping" signs everywhere. So after dinner I found a fine of 70 euros. I don’t understand why prohibit parking in the field. most likely just to make more money
