Restaurant
The Village Kitchen is a traditional restaurant located in the heart of Sneem village, known for its warm atmosphere and delicious Irish cuisine. For over 25 years, the O'Sullivan family has been serving up friendly service and good food. The restaurant offers a mix of Irish, cafe-style dishes, and seafood options. It's situated close to various attractions in Sneem and is part of the vibrant dining scene with several other restaurants nearby.
We came across The Village Kitchen in Sneem on a rainy weekend. The Guinness here is more mellow and rich, the Homemade Quinoa & Chickpea Burger VG is delicious and tempting, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is warm.

I have eaten at several restaurants in Killarney so far and was not impressed. We were doing the Ring of Kerry and stopped in this place in Sneem. By far this was the best meal we have had. The service and the atmosphere was cozy with the little wood stove keeping a warm glow. We are picky and had the homemade vegetable soup and tuna melt.
AMillionin1 — Google review
Wonderful spot on Sneem! Stopped in for just a coffe but ended up getting a Cappuccino, Irish Coffe, Soup of the Day (vegetable) Tuna Toasty. Veggie soup is amazing. Coffees fantastic. Tuna melt was great. Would stop here for the Coffee alone. Great N70 -Ring of Kerry stop.

Very nice place. Friendly service. I had bacon and cabbage. A most typical Irish dish. The added some turnip which was ok with me and the amount of bacon in the plate was very large, probably double what I would need. I’m sure many working people coming in for their lunch appreciated this. The only this is that there was very little cabbage. This was a big let down as I love this dish with at least a decent portion of cabbage.

If you're looking for the ultimate burger experience, then look no further than this amazing restaurant! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a friendly smile and a warm atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. And once you've tasted their delicious burgers, you'll be hooked for life! What sets this restaurant apart from the rest is their attention to detail. Every burger is made with the freshest ingredients, cooked to perfection, and served with a smile. Whether you're a fan of classic cheeseburgers or something a little more adventurous, you're sure to find something that hits the spot on their extensive menu. But the burgers are just the beginning. This restaurant also boasts an impressive selection of sides and desserts that are the perfect complement to any meal. And their friendly staff are always happy to recommend the perfect pairing to take your lunch experience to the next level. All in all, if you're looking for great food, great service, and a great atmosphere, then this burger restaurant is the place for you. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and give it a try – you won't be disappointed!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here, had delicious fish and chips. The service was excellent and we had a lovely experience. Bright and simple decor, with immaculate and unusual WC facilities mean that this is a place we will return to again. Prices are average for the area. Lovely seating area outside on the street and superb views at the back.

This is a fantastic cafe I would highly recommend it . The food is fantastic and it has a wonderful atmosphere with a real open fireplace . I must say the staff were so friendly and has a smile on their face so nice to see . Thank you for making us feel welcome 🙏 😁💕 The toilets are upstairs and are clean and well presented . Lovely views from the seats at the back I just loved looking out onto the river .
Hetty I — Google review
Cozy restaurant which offers a great selection of food. All dishes I saw in the restaurant looked great! The sandwiches are very affordable from 5 to 10 euros. I recommend trying the chowder, which is simply amazing! At lunch time quite a lot of busses stopped in the small town and many came to village kitchen and it got very busy. Try to go there as early as possible because it will probably take some time until you get your food. Staff is very friendly as well and managed the flood of tourists very well.

The Charles De Gaulle Memorial is a touching tribute to the former President of France, who sought solace in Sneem after resigning from office in 1969. His connection to the village was personal, as his wife's nanny hailed from there. The memorial stands in North Square and commemorates de Gaulle's brief but meaningful stay during a challenging time in his life.
and during Ring of Kerry Charity cycle day the memorial is a bike holding post

Just a quick wander from the Main Street and bridge to see the creek and waterfall from Another angle. You can stroll down next to the creek for a bit if desired. There’s a bench behind the structures to look out on the landscape or eat your takeaway from a nearby restaurant or street vendor.

Whether you're looking to enjoy fresh fish or savor an evening meal, The Blue Bull is a must-visit dining destination in Kerry.
Great food and beautiful presentation. The atmosphere is really nice too. They serve food until late at night and families are welcome. Would recommend if you're doing the Ring of Kerry and looking for a good meal.
Brian S — Google review
Steak was good, hard to go wrong with a steak really. Wife's fish pie was lovely. Kids meals, two types of pasta and a curry were just poorly made. One of my daughters said her curry was like Uncle Ben's. It was just a poor experience and we didn't go back.
Kieran K — Google review
Came here on a cycle tour. Had a decent meal 🍴 and a few good pints in the beer garden. Served by a friendly waiter. Beware 'garden' is fully covered and enclosed. Looked like a place locals visit as well. Is missing an ipa but for the rest good choice
Edgar B — Google review
We had traditional fish and chips at the blue bull restaurant which looked very nice. But unfortunately the taste of the food wasn't. The fish didn't have any taste at all and the potatoe chips (fries) were strange in taste and consistency. However the staff is extraordinarily friendly and courteous which is why I rate 3 stars, because I didn't really like the food.

I was in Sneem earlier this week with a group of friends and we ate and drank in here both nights. The food is exceptional! The beef and Guinness stew was a personal favourite. The service is also brilliant and it just has a very homely vibe. The prices are also very reasonable given how good the food is. Thanks for looking after us Dylan!
Kevin D — Google review
They just nailed it. Fantastic staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere. They might be a bit more expensive then the competition here, but the few extra euro is well worth it.

The beef burger was delicious! I recommend to ask for the pepper sauce with it! Yummy

We went there off season during the long Easter weekend. The place is in the middle of Sneem and has a lot of indoor space plus some table outside. The food was amazing and we can recommend the local seafood pie and beef pie. It felt like home. On top of that the staff was very nice. I would recommend and come back again.

This is the cutest cafe in all of Ireland. The owner is the sweetest woman and the hardest worker (and she makes amazing coffee). As an American tourist, the Irish hospitality was appreciated and noticed here. The food was great and came out in a timely manner. I would go here everyday if I could.

The most delicious sandwiches and lunch stop on the ring of Kerry. We were lucky to have Nicole as a waitress, she told us more about the town, was quick with service and extremely welcoming, which isn’t always true in a small town that sees hundreds of thousands of visitors. We enjoyed delicious specialty lattes and don’t miss any of their sandwiches. The restaurant is located right next to the bridge and you can hear the wash, rushing water in the background And there is a great view of the rock-faced mountains in the background. The price point is perfect for a lunch stop I’m assuming if you stop on a bus tour or if you’re driving through that this would be a good place for you to eat it was quick and there’s outdoor seating if you wish.
Geneva J — Google review
Lovely restaurant in Sneem, right next to the bridge and water. The nice views and light from the big windows along the water make the atmosphere really welcoming and comfortable. Menu has great options, and they have a great kid's menu. Service staff were very pleasant and service was quick.

Sat down for lunch on a very bright and beautiful day. Got seating outside to enjoy the sun. We ordered the smoked salmon and greek salad. The food was amazing. We had a wonderful service and I would recomend this place to anyone staying in or driving through Sneem! I also just have to mention the tap water. The water was so fresh and good. Reminded me of the spring water back home in Iceland, so fresh and pure.

Fabulous view of the stream and super food! Their breakfast stuff was amazing! We got scrambled eggs with sausages, shrooms with spinach granola, ham and cheese sandwich which was very sweetly done from the lunch menu and avocado with toast! Nicole was very sweet and super efficient

So nice we ate here twice! We got into Sneem just late in the day and had originally planned to go to a sea food spot further down the Ring of Kerry. Nope, sold out. We then checked three other places. Nope. Drove back to Sneem and it was getting late so we "settled" for the Bridge Cafe & Bistro. Boy did we feel stupid for not starting here! The food was amazing. Probably the best dinner we had on our entire 11 day trip. The service was as good as the food - super friendly and super efficient. Thats how we found out they did breakfast too and that we needed to get there early before Mass was over. Before we left I got a desert to go - apple almond tart. It was a perfect topper for the meal. The next morning we were first in the door for breakfast. Excellent coffee and great food. SO got avocado toast with eggs. Im from California. I know avocado toast. This was excellent avocado toast. There are places on Ring of Kerry that have better PR. No way they have better food. Eat here.

We had lunch here on our way to Kenmare. The fish and chips was pretty good. It is intended as a wine bar, so I should have had wine instead of Guinness (which came in a can). The landlady was nice enough. I might try a different place next time, though.
William F — Google review
Menu is way overpriced. Food was very basic, nothing special. Charged for orange cordial. €15 for a starter with a few prawns and a bit of salmon. Making a killing off the tourists I’d say. Mighty service all the same.
Diarmuid C — Google review
The food was really rather poor unfortunately. Meat for the steaks very poor quality and fatty. The sole was quite tasty to be fair but the scampi were a total disaster. Shame this is the only real option for a casual sit down dinner in the village.

This was a great place to stop and grab some food after driving and touring the Ring of Kerry. We didn't stay in the rooms. The fish and chips we both had were excellent, and the coffees. Big spacious bar with plenty of seating areas both indoors and outdoors. Good crowd at night and friendly staff who were very accommodating putting on football matches.

We ate here the first day we arrived. The food was really not good, the soup was particularly bad. Having said that we kept coming back because the pub itself is not too bad, we just didn't eat. They have a lovely ice cream section and the service was good especially by the lad pictured. The bar is very long with an excellent outdoor section out the back where there is also a pool table. There was music there one night (busy) but because of the nature of the bar (long and slim) it was impossible to get seating anywhere near the music and we went to the pub next door. Pints are good, I wouldn't put anyone off having a session here.
