The Cliffs of Moher are a stunning natural attraction on the western coast of Ireland. These dramatic seaside cliffs stretch for 18 kilometers and offer an 18-km hiking path, O'Brien's Tower, and a visitor center. Nearby, Stonecutters Kitchen is a family-run restaurant with outside seating that provides views of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Beautiful cliffside landscape in Ireland. Worth the visit. Lots of tourists. So go early if you can! Parking is easy with help from the park staff. Public restrooms, souvenirs and food are available at this popular site.
Virginia H — Google review
The Cliffs of Moher are absolutely breathtaking. The views over the Atlantic are stunning, and the sheer scale of the cliffs is awe-inspiring. Even on a windy day, it’s an unforgettable experience and a must-see if you’re in Ireland.
Griffin P — Google review
Very beautiful view but the walking path is extremely tight so you constantly have to watch out for people behind and Infront of you, and if that wasn't enough there is an electric fence which you almost need to touch because the tight path. Also there are a lot of flies which ruin the view because they keep flying in people's faces. The unisex toilet stinks very bad, so I would recommend going to the bathrooms at the souvenir shop
Tarik E — Google review
Very nice attraction here, but honestly, kinda a tourist trap. If someone could park outside the car park, you could was right in and not being questioned. Views are amazing and park well maintained. Highly recommended if you love cliffs sightseeing!

You cannot go to Ireland without seeing the Cliffs of Moher. They are beautiful and rugged. You can climb as much as you want or just a little and still see the Cliffs in all their splendor. There is also a really good museum built into the hill.
Tom V — Google review
Sadly a foggy day for us when we were there. Otherwise im sure the views would have been excellent. There are lots of small flies along where people would take pictures and its kind of annoying. There is a visitor centre where you can tour some exhibitions and there is a cafe and restaurant there too. There is also a well stocked gift shop.
SL W — Google review
Such a beautiful place to visit. Well designed location when it comes to the Welcome Centre being built into the hillside. Paths are easy to navigate and they have golf cart for people with mobility issues. The views are stunning and well worth the trip to get there. Nice big gift shop with plenty of things to buy and they also have a sit down restaurant. Recommended.
W Q — Google review
It’s one of the most impressive places in Ireland, where the beauty of nature takes your breath away. The massive cliffs stretching along the Atlantic Ocean create an incredible sense of grandeur. The wind, the sound of the sea, and the breathtaking views to the horizon make it feel like a fairytale. It’s a place where you just want to stop, watch, and enjoy the moment. Definitely worth visiting for anyone who wants to experience Ireland’s stunning nature! 🌊🇮🇪

O'Brien's Tower, a historic stone observation tower constructed in 1835, sits atop the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland. Originally built as an English tourist attraction and rumored to have served as a teahouse, the tower now offers visitors stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Aran Islands, and the surrounding mountains. Standing at 214 meters tall, it provides a 360-degree view of the breathtaking coastal scenery.
Absolutely stunning views of the cliffs. Pay for parking across the street. There is a small gift shop and some food/restrooms in the hillside. I think there are other shops open during peak months. There is a ramp for wheelchair access for some of the viewing points. There’s a narrow path to one of the peaks that is gravel.
Gabrielle D — Google review
The tower was built on the cliffs in 1835 by local landlord and MP Cornelius O'Brien as an observation tower for the tourists who frequented the cliffs at the time: "strangers visiting the Magnificent Scenery of this neighbourhood". It is said to have initially served as a "teahouse", featuring a large round table with seats of ironwor
Ger R — Google review
The iconic 1835 lookout tower at the Cliffs of Moher, built by Cornelius O’Brien — a local landlord with a flair for eccentric “tourism projects” who believed bringing visitors here would “benefit the people and bring cash into the area.” Climb to the top for panoramic views of the Atlantic, the Aran Islands, and Connemara on a clear day. Worth knowing: outside of official opening hours, the gates are open — you can visit before 8am or after closing for free. It’s quieter then too, without the crowds, which makes the experience even more special. During the day there’s a entry fee that covers carpark, entry to tower and visitors centre, but the views (and the photos) are hard to beat.
Aga D — Google review
Adds a point of interest to the cliffs themselves, but the view from the top is terrible. The way it's designed really doesn't let you see the cliffs at all, you have to peer through tiny spaces in the wall and its almost impossible to take a decent picture. They also let about 30 people up at a time and they are all crowding around the 3 spaces that actually give a view of the cliffs. Honestly, standing at the bottom of the tower gives just as good of a view as going to the top, so if it's going to be a 30min wait I wouldn't bother. No additional ticket is required to get up the tower itself once you have paid for the cliffs of Moher entrance.
Heather V — Google review
The Cliffs of Moher are an absolute must-see destination in Ireland. Despite facing challenging weather (I happened to visit during Amy storm), the overall experience was outstanding, and the dramatic atmosphere only added to the rugged beauty of the site. The Experience and Atmosphere The views are simply fantastic, especially if you are visiting from outside Ireland and experiencing this unique coastal geology for the first time. Prepare yourself, as the location is very windy! I experienced a classic Irish weather hour, where it rained four times in sixty minutes, with each downpour lasting less than five minutes. This volatile weather is part of the fun and emphasizes how wild this part of the Atlantic coast truly is. Dining and Value I was pleasantly surprised by the visitor center's offerings. The on-site restaurant is reasonably priced, which is a welcome relief at a major tourist attraction. A particular highlight was the food: the soup and chowder are fantastic and make for the perfect warm meal after battling the coastal wind. Practical Tips for Visitors For those planning a visit, take note of two key points: Parking: There is ample parking available, which makes access easy. Booking: Be sure to book your tickets online, as this offers a high discount and is the smartest way to save money on your visit. Overall, the Cliffs of Moher are a magnificent spectacle of nature, and I highly recommend embracing the wind and rain to experience this incredible sight.

O’Brien’s Tower is a must-visit landmark at the Cliffs of Moher. Built in 1835 by Cornelius O’Brien as a viewing point for tourists, the tower offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Aran Islands, and the Twelve Bens of Connemara on clear days. The tower is located near the main viewing platform and is accessible via a short walk from the visitor centre. The climb is relatively easy and rewards you with breathtaking vistas.
Vincenzo P — Google review
• Built in 1835 by Cornelius O'Brien, a local landowner and descendant of the High King of Ireland, Brian Boru (reigned 1002–1014). • Purpose: A viewing platform for tourists, who were already visiting the cliffs. Cornelius was a progressive landlord—he developed tourism to help local residents escape poverty by employing them in construction work (including building a wall along the cliffs). • Legend: The tower was supposedly built to impress the ladies Cornelius was courting. Another theory is that it served as a teahouse or decorative "folly" for guests.

Moher Hill Open Farm and Leisure Park is a delightful destination that combines fun and education, making it perfect for both locals and visitors. Established in 2000 after two years of dedicated effort, this expansive farm now spans 15 acres, ranking among the largest open farms in Ireland. Families can enjoy a variety of activities such as feeding well-cared-for animals with provided treats, exploring an indoor play area, or engaging in mini-golf.
This is the perfect place to bring your active toddler on a trip to the Burren! Highly recommend if you are visiting the Cliffs of Moher with children. A fair rate of €9 for children, €10 for adults and €9 for seniors. Lots to do, including an indoor playground with moon bounce, ball pit and more. If we lived here, we’d love to host a sweet birthday party here! Such a sweet place to see the animals. Pro Tips: - Pack a jacket as the wind whips through and it can get quite chilly - Host your toddler and child’s birthday party here!

A really great place for all the family. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to get an umbrella for the kids as there was rain expected. I've not had that kind of service ever. The animals were very friendly and well looked after. So much fun to be had for the kids. Very large sand pit with diggers, go karting and a soft play center with a bouncing castle. We could have stayed for hours. Next time we will.
Martin — Google review
Amazing experience! We got to feed the animals and to spend some time learning fun facts about them. The place is super peaceful. We were lucky to have the whole farm for us, and the owners were very kind. One of the best stops during our ireland road trip. I recommend to visit on a weekday, the earlier the better so you can have enough time with each animal.

A lovely place for children, teenager and adults to be with animals. I can really recommend stopping by. The small restaurant is also good for some snacks or ice.

That is one of Irelands hidden gems. They deserve 10/10 for the set up. They've everything from the petting farm to bouncy castles. They've got craic sorted for indoor or outdoor. Genuinely I was extremely pleasantly surprised by how great this was. Thank you for having us

Loved this petting farm! One of our highlight spots. We are in our late 30’s and 40’s and enjoyed it more than kids 😀 The deer are magical, but be careful the alpaca spits 😆

Only had 30 minutes to spend but could have easily spent 90. Best petting zoo I’ve ever visited. Stunning scenery and the animals all seemed happy and healthy. Would absolutely recommend
Destin F — Google review
Amazing! So clean. No need for wellies even on rainy days. There is a lovely variety of animals and plenty of space in all enclosures. The whole place is of the highest standard. Most polished well taken place we have been to. The woman running the place is a lady and a treat. Well done to all. It's a magical place for kids and adults.

Nestled just a short drive from the renowned Cliffs of Moher, Moher Cottage is a charming coffee, fudge, and gift shop offering quality beverages and stunning panoramic views. Situated near Liscannor, it overlooks the former home of Cornelius O'Brien, an influential figure in Irish tourism. The cottage is run by Caitriona who actively preserves the heritage of the area.
Beautiful cottage overlooking the coastal line. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your coffee and treats outside. Friendly staff and excellent customer service. We ordered chia tea and fudge which was delightful. It was a nice stop along the way to the Cliffs.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Must-Stop Gem Beside the Cliffs of Moher! Moher Cottage is an absolute delight — the perfect stop after taking in the majestic Cliffs of Moher. The location is unbeatable, perched just beside the cliffs with a breathtaking view that you can enjoy while relaxing with a warm drink. The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly made — easily one of the best I’ve had in Ireland. The blueberry muffin was fresh, moist, and bursting with flavor. And the homemade fudge? Simply incredible — a must-try treat that melts in your mouth. The shop itself is full of charm and lovely gift items, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Whether you’re visiting the cliffs or just passing through, Moher Cottage is a hidden gem not to be missed. I’ll definitely be back…..

The Frantic Chef is a popular restaurant located near the Cliffs of Moher, attracting many visitors. The small car park can accommodate about 10 cars, and guests are welcomed by friendly staff who explain the dining options. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes including sandwiches, salads, and hot meals to cater to different tastes. While there are plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors, it's advisable to time your visit to avoid large tour groups.
Delicious food. Came here during the Paddywagon tour to have lunch. Do expect to pay 15+ on your warm meal though! However, the braised lamb is worth it ~
Carmen L — Google review
Our tour bus (Paddywagon Tours) stopped here for lunch, and it was a pleasant experience. You order cafeteria-style, starting with drink options available in the fridge as you walk in to your left. There’s a nice selection of fresh salads, sandwiches, warm soups, and ready-to-eat hot meals that seem to rotate daily. Grab a tray and head to the line to order. When we arrived at 2 p.m. on a Saturday, the options included beef with Yorkshire pudding, fish and chips, and beef stew, all served with mashed potatoes and carrots. The sandwiches all appeared to be pared with a green salad and crisps (American potato chips). We opted for a can of pale ale from a local brewery and the roast beef. The gravy was phenomenal! I enjoyed the Yorkshire pudding since this is typically unavailable in the USA. For those that don’t know, it’s similar to a popover or bread. Credit cards are accepted, and there’s plenty of seating upstairs, which makes it easy to enjoy our meal in a less crowded space. It was a nice stop to support local on our journey!
Tara K — Google review
Cafeteria style good food for our tour bus stop. Quick and ready to eat. Some rearrangement of food bar may help so as to make the line go faster a bit during the food rush but all ok. The food was tasty and quite a variety of fish, meat, sandwich and salad options. There is plenty of space - An upstairs and outside as well. Bathrooms were nice and clean for the space. Nice decor around the restaurant. Someone came by to check if everyone was ok, so the extra touch was nice. Also, it was great to have ketchup at the tables included with other condiments. All items were easy to find. Would recommend this spot to others!
Rex N — Google review
Such an inviting and friendly café! The cafeteria-style setup and shared tables make it easy to meet new people. The pesto chicken was flavorful and perfectly moist, and the clam chowder was fresh with a nice peppery kick. Extra seating upstairs is a plus. The owner was onsite and happily answered questions; a wonderful personal touch!

A surprisingly amazing place to eat. We stopped here for lunch on our tour. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was almost cafeteria style but there was quick service. I even ordered vegan dumplings that weren't ready made and I was able to get them fast and fresh! Everything was so tasty. We tried almost every category of food offered and can completely recommend it. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! Highly recommend!

We stopped by here for lunch after our trip to the Cliffs of Moher. The lunch was average. There’s a good variety to choose from, but nothing special in terms of taste. Chicken wrap, chips, and a bit of salad — everything was cold. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Love the Rock Shop. Great selection of fossils and specimen minerals, only place like it in Ireland. Other stuff like "crystals" if you're into that kind if nonsense, but which I'm sure is important for financial viability. The owner Adam and staff were very friendly, informative and helpful. Giving it 5 stars, even though I would love if it had some "raw" rock.

Hiking the Cliffs of Moher, this tower sits at the tip of the road from where we parked. This was a great area to walk to, to get some great pictures of the Cliffs of Moher. Moher Tower at Hag's Head is an interesting ruin. Would love to have been able to see it in its prime.
Jay H — Google review
This is the best viewing spot for the Cliffs of Moher. No tickets. No wait. Type Hag’s Head into the gps and go but go before 11 or after 4 when there are very few people. When we left there were a lot of visitors walking in. The drive there is through one lane roads shared with farmers and tourists so go slow. The hike up is easy. You can stop anywhere you want on the trail at the top or go all the way. I recommend at least going until you see the rock with a hole all the way through and the ocean is crashing against the walls. Best views there. Or walk down the trails but be careful. There are no barriers between a great vacation photo or falling.
Michael G — Google review
I had the most incredible experience visiting the Moher Tower at Hag's Head on the Cliffs of Moher. The natural beauty of the surroundings was simply breathtaking. As I hiked along the trail, I was mesmerized by the stunning views of the North Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline. The cliffs themselves were awe-inspiring, and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of awe and appreciation for the power of nature. However, I do want to mention a concerning observation. While I was there, I noticed some people carelessly walking along the edge of the cliffs to capture pictures. I cannot stress enough how dangerous this is. The cliffs can be unpredictable, and one wrong step could have disastrous consequences. It's crucial to prioritize safety and respect the natural environment. Aside from that, I found the experience to be truly unforgettable. The tranquility and serenity of the area allowed me to connect with nature on a profound level. It was a welcome escape from the crowds and touristy atmosphere found elsewhere. I highly recommend exploring this part of the Cliffs of Moher for a more intimate and authentic experience. Just be sure to tread carefully and responsibly to fully enjoy the natural splendor that this place has to offer.
Aniket L — Google review
Private parking that costs 3 euros per car. From there it's about a 15-20 minute walk with the kids to the cliffs. spectacular view! very special. It is recommended to go up near the tower and also to go down a little along a neat path between the rocks. The children really enjoyed it. It is important to be careful!
Jenya G — Google review
If you are looking for a Cliffs of Moher experience I recommend this rather than the big tourist one up the road. Less people and better views from here. 5€ to park in a private lot and then a 15 minute walk but totally worth it!
Jeff C — Google review
It is much recommended to walk along the walking trail of cliffs of Moher, the trail starts here and go all the way to Doonagore castle which is like 10km walk but a very scenic walk all the away. The best time is to start in the early morning when there is no crowd. The walk goes through the major attractions of the cliffs of Moher. You can take the car all the way if you can park it safely. Some of this is private property. Or you can park it safely for 1EU in the parkinglot available by one of the houses.
Pranav R — Google review
Totally worth the wind and rain, we walked for maybe 20 minutes from the parking lot, and saw spectacular views. The tower is cool, but doesn't have any info signs which was a bit disappointing, but we googled it later.

Beautiful cliffs with breathtaking views! So much better than the main Cliffs of Moher site with expensive parking full of tourists! There's a car park on a private property near by which will cost you 3 euros per day and you can explore the coast away from crowds!

Can't believe I hadn't noticed this place every time I've been to Lehinch. They have a great selection of vegetarian options on their menu. The food was fresh and tasty and service was great. If you're vegan, many of the vegetarian options can be made vegan. There is a lot of paid parking (timed) outside.

Please save your money and go somewhere else! We ordered the following dishes: - Garlic Hummus & Flatbread - The Cuban sourdough sandwich - Randy’s lemonade - Sirloin steak & chips The steak and chips were great, albeit the sichuan peppercorn sauce had no sichuan pepper and was not numbing or spicy at all, and was very thick and salty, with the consistency of cheap chip shop curry sauce. However that is where things went downhill, because every other item had problems with them. The garlic hummus & flatbread had the smallest amount of hummus I’ve ever seen served at a restaurant, especially considering it is the main part of the name of the dish. The hummus served would have only covered one of the sticks of flatbread. It was also bland, very thick and dry instead of being a dip, and onion & red pepper flavoured. The flatbread itself was raw in the middle, and tasted very strange. It also came with cold, mushy mushroom slices and with only two of the roasted pepper pieces that were advertised. The Cuban sandwich was also wildly different than what was expected. On the menu it says that it comes on sourdough bread with mature cheddar, pickled red onions and a chimmichurri sauce, however when it came out it appeared to be two pieces of toast, 1/3 covered in pulled pork and with no toppings at all. The lemonade also said that it was a homemade still lemon syrup with lemon & mint but ended up being a sparkling lemonade that tasted exactly like a bottle of lemonade from the spar up the road. To top it off, when we went to pay we discovered that there were multiple dishes added onto our bill that we never asked for, which we could have paid for if we were not paying attention. Overall we paid nearly €100 for food which left us all hungry and disheartened, feeling like we were taken advantage of. It is a shame because the location is very nice.

Definitely the worse meal I’ve had this year. Shockingly overpriced for utterly tasteless food. It’s a shame to have such a good pitch looking out on the sea and then serve this muck to people. Do they even clean their fryers …. By the way the fries came out …. I doubt it The staff showed zero interest in actually serving. And fix the kitchen door that bangs loudly. Whoever owns / runs this place needs to go back to the drawing board or get out the business altogether.

Ordered two kids fish and chips and two full size fish and chips. After long wait kids chips came burned and dry. We had to ask to replace them. Food was below average, replaced chips were not even tasty, would not recommend. Photo is the full size of fish and chips, €18. Very nice cider and service though.

Table was unclean and sticky upon arrival. Ordered kids fish and chips, kids goujon and chips ,nachos and the hummus and fltabread. After 20 mins the nachos and kids fish and chips arrived but no sign of the other 2 dishes. We asked where the rest of the order was they were unable to answer. It eventually arrived another 10 mins later. As one of the children was about to bite into a goujon ,I noticed it was uncooked. It looked like somebody heated it in a microwave and threw it on the plate. It was discoloured and raw on the inside. We asked for the manager ,who sauntered over after 5 mins ,and seemed disinterested in the fact they were serving raw chicken. At this point we just upped and left . Not the food and service you would hope to receive in such a great location on the promenade.

Absolutely terrible experience. Woman who served us arrogant, chewing gum, lack of interest doing job properly. Ive ordered pizza, to be fair - without cheese, i wanted it dairy free. But what i got was disgusting. Dough chewy, very oily, i couldnt finish it. Also everything overpriced. Staff didnt even bother to ask if we enjoy it, they probably know Its not worth it. To be fair - the male waiter was at least smiling. Try to avoid this place if you can!

Picked this spot as heard was dog friendly (outdoors only) Tried making booking and was told would definitely have a table outside as Tues night, but when arrived all were full as was nice evening. Was able to get a high bench spot and the floor staff were so friendly and accommodating Had the fish and chips (little salty), and couple of pints, with a view of the promenade, with pup at feet first, with water bowl provided.

Had lunch with family here. Menu was very good with a wide selection. Place was cozy with a mix of asian and Canadian vibes. Food was good and extremely well presented. Sarah were excellent even during covid regulations. We had our certs checked on the way in. Good food and price was fair. Everything fresh and pizza was great. Will be back

Bar
The Joseph McHughs Bar in Ennis is a quirky spot with delicious food and an exciting selection of craft beer. The ambiance is charming and the service excellent. It's a great place to catch up with friends or enjoy some innovative cocktails.
Lovely pub a short walk from the Cliffs of Moher Hotel. At the time I went in, it was pretty full with locals listening to the live music, drinking and enjoying the company. It felt very authentic Irish and even though we weren’t part of the community we felt very welcomed. The food was amazing! Fresh ingredients and good portions. I had the fish and chips and the fish melted in your mouth. They had a good selections of beer and drinks. The Guinness was very delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was also very accommodating and kind. We hand a wonderful time and would love to come back and enjoy the food and the ambiance again.

I was expecting something really special here, it had all the charm, and I’d heard some good reviews. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. It was a bit of a squeeze, despite the restaurant being nearly empty as it was at the beginning of lunch service. They put us at a small table at the back of the restaurant, two of which had been added when they shouldn’t have been as there wasn’t room for them. The menu was quite good and prices reasonable, so we were pleasantly surprised, but when the food came, the chowder was only okay, but the disappointment came with the chips/fries my husband had with his chicken Kiev. They were poor quality, but the oil obviously had to be changed. Overall, I probably set my expectations too high for this place.

We ate here twice during our 9 day adventure and all 4 of us Ireland Travelers agreed that the food at Joseph McHugh's was the best. Best chowder, best bacon and cabbage. I especially enjoyed the smoked salmon appetizer.
Lori E — Google review
Excellent spot for a meal. The chowder was delicious with huge chunks of salmon, and our 5 year old daughter ordered the soup of the day and ate most, it was very tasty. Brown bread was a nice accoutrement to both soups. Bacon and Cabbage dish was very hearty and warming. Highly recommend this place - staff is friendly and food is excellent, many friendly locals to chat with as well!

A shout out to Hilary and the staff. The food was excellent and the staff were even better. We had fish and chips, bacon and cabbage (with great Irish mashed potatoes) and vegetable curry. All of us would recommend what we ordered. A lovely place to go with beautiful framed photos and art work. If you like Irish heroes and/or Greyhounds then this is the place for you. A great traditional pub. Thank you, Hilary, for making me feel at home. You are the best and I will come see you again.

Absolutely amazing experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food was delicious and truly exceeded expectations — fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was everything you hope for in an Irish countryside pub: cozy, welcoming, and full of character. But what impressed us the most was the kindness and genuine warmth of the staff — the level of hospitality was simply outstanding. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area — a true gem!

Tough review of a pub we’ve been visiting for over 20 years - albeit a change of ownership, our recent visit to McHugh’s was very poor. Sat outselves to a table when restaurant staff weren’t attentive, had to ask for menus and then had to go to the bar to order after waiting 20 mins when a staff member cleaned a table beside us and didn’t ask to take our order - all at the start of dinner time @ 5pm. Food came by 5:40pm but small portions for both adults and kids. Kids burgers were cooked from frozen to burnt and bundys were stale. Curry was very nice but tiny portion. Guinness was decent and staff later on in the evening were more attentive, but it would be a tough ask to return after having to get our own menus and have to go to the bar to ask to order our own food during a time where the hospitality sector is struggling. Unfortunately I can’t say I’ll return despite staying 100m away…

Lovely lunch for 4 adults and 2 children. With great food, warm and attentive service and a cosy and lively atmosphere, we are very glad we stopped. Fish & chips and the chowder were delicious, as was that chocolate cake... ☺️
