Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire is a nature reserve that boasts an ancient oak tree, a restaurant, and a Robin Hood festival. It is the last surviving untouched forest in England and was originally used for royal hunting. The legend of Robin Hood is set here. Nearby attractions include Clumber Park, Rufford Abbey, and the village of Southwell near Newark. A walk through the forest takes around 45 minutes and offers stunning views and informative notices about the area.
This place is a cool visit, it really brings Robin Hood's stories alive, a really cool place! 🏞️ The paths are well-maintained, and the active activities are really fun. Plus, the coffee around here is top-notch ☕️ and loads of joints to eat. All in all, it's a great day out! 🌞 Whether you're looking for adventure or just a chill vibe, this spot delivers. Highly recommend!"

It’s ok for souvenirs which I understand why they sell them. Be nice if they had a complete separate educational area about the history of the Sherwood Forest and the National Sherwood Forest day that’s been suggested in the Houses of Parliament.
C M — Google review
Nice place to spend your weekend no admission free but only the parking free there and visitor center holds few stalls wgich sells varoius items and its really nice to see the nearly 800 years old ork tree which relates to robin hood story
Thilange M — Google review
Went during August when they have their FREE Robin Hood event on which was really great! Amazing medieval reenactment with jousting and sword fights. Parking was £15 during the event but you can park on the road near the shops for free on Sunday or 1 hour only on Saturday. Walked to the Major Oak tree which also had medieval tents and things for kids (Robin hood event only I believe)

Love this place. It's super well maintained, offering quiet walk in ancient woods, has a fantastic café and lovely shops etc.. its affordable and great place for anyone. Just please people remember you're not alone there!

Went to look at the Major Oak, ended up doing a 4 mile walk. So peaceful and beautiful walking through the forest. If you need some time to unwind and chill out I highly recommend a walk round Sherwood Forest.

Always love visiting Sherwood Forest 🌳 gorgeous walks and a nice visitor centre and cafe ☕️, there is a big car park 🅿️ little expensive at £6 but is free if Rspb member. Overall would highly recommend visiting 😃

Visitor center
The Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre offers a variety of trails and walks suitable for different levels of fitness, interests, and durations. It is situated near the iconic Sherwood forest, which is a popular spot for dog walking in Nottingham. The visitor centre boasts an impressive new building that is well designed and features a cafe with a diverse range of options and an excellent shop. There's also an outdoor amphitheatre area whose purpose remains to be seen. The friendly staff are knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
We love Sherwood forest when we visited..it seems to be a great combination of leaving the woodland alone and adding in events and supplies that blend. Respectful to the environment and enjoyable for the family. Wish we knew ahead of time there was archery here - how great! Parking is over the road and able. The location is run by RSBP so I assume membership gives you something.
Trevor H — Google review
Visited for the first time in a number of years and was disappointed to find the old visitor centre was no longer there. It used to have the feel of a village with a lovely walk through story of Robin Hood. The walk itself was still really good and our grandson loved the den building area and playground. Just felt it had been commercialised and lost its old character.
Jane G — Google review
Lovely walks and scenery, nice play area for the kids, visitors centre is a great place for a food and drink stop. Quiet in the week but can get busy at weekends.
Kathryn W — Google review
The place is fantastic! We've been welcomed by lovely people 😊 they've spread the smile and positivity all over the shop! After interesting and never-ending chat, we walked around the forest and enjoyed its beauty. We barely blinked and we realised, we spend the most of the day there!!! It was only, as our stomachs started rumbling 🤣 on the way back, we enjoyed pumpkin latte & autumn version of the hot chocolate with hazelnut syrup. As we're local, we come at least twice a year anyway, but our guests loved it! The atmosphere, the Robin Hood tales, beauty of the forest, Major Oak and the statue in the city centre! So, will bring another Robin Hood fans soon 😉 once again, thank you to lovely staff in the shop to make our trip so memorable 💖 and definitely "go to the Hel" - they'd know what we mean 😀 😊 😉
Malgosia M — Google review
Had a lovely day at Sherwood forest. The visitor centre has gifts etc upstairs, downstairs you can buy something to eat and a drink. Toilets are also downstairs. There's a lift for prams wheelchairs etc. There's a playground for the kids and loads of little shops, an art centre etc opposite the centre. Some of the shops are shut on Monday and Fridays which we didn't know about till we got there but there were a couple open. There's also a tattooist on site I would phone up about appointments first. Parking is £6 for 24 hours in the carpark. The car park is on the opposite side of the road from the site.
Georgina B — Google review
Had a fantastic afternoon at Sherwood Forest. Hadn't realised there was an event on, which made it even better. There were various food vendors, or the cafe to choose from, so we were spoilt for choice. The visitor centre is excellent and the whole area is so well maintained and free from rubbish. There is a playground for the kids and various walks of different lengths, all signposted. We opted for the Major Oak trail which was a steady mile and a half loop, which we took steadily. Parking was abundant but you do have to pay, entry to the forest is however free. So £6 for parking for a day out for five of us is great. There are toilets within the visitor centre and paths around the forest are gravel/stone so slightly uneven but a pair of trainers is all that is required, walking boots not needed. The wood is full of beautiful oak trees, amongst other British species and is a hive of insect and wildlife. The Major Oak is just about hanging in there, but was looking to be in the twilight of its existence. There are some other big oaks that are noted with signs and interesting facts. The area is great for some fresh air and a steady walk, when you need to "touch some grass". No doubt we will be back again there soon.
Mark A — Google review
The public entrance to Sherwood Forest is welcoming and well maintained, leading straight into a world of natural beauty and legend. The trails are easy to follow, with plenty of signs and information about the forest’s history and wildlife. It’s exciting to walk among the ancient trees and imagine the tales of Robin Hood. A wonderful starting point for exploring this iconic and enchanting forest! Oh forgot to tell about the Oak tree.
Harsha J — Google review
Boring, run-down, nothing to see, overpriced cafe and parking, dead trees and the Major Oak does not look good either. How about you update your photos on your website!! They're over 11 years old when the place was looked after. Drive past - don't bother stopping. Disgusting and an embarrassment to you. Attn possible visitors read trip advisor reviews to see how many people have compared previous to now. The ongoing rhetoric from current management clearly proves there's no intent to change. So sad.

Nestled in the charming former coach house and stables of Edwinstowe Hall, the Sherwood Forest Art & Craft Centre is a delightful destination for art enthusiasts and families alike. This vibrant hub showcases an array of unique crafts, from textiles to handmade jewelry, ensuring there's something special for everyone. Visitors can explore various studios that feature local artisans' work, including stunning paintings and intricate coppersmith creations.
Lovely cafe where you can sit inside, outside or in the pretty covered courtyard. Some really good little shops perfect for picking up unusual gifts.
Kim — Google review
Really friendly people. Good variety of different stock. Went initially for copper man, but he retired last year. Waited till 12 for a shop to open, got there 12.40, still locked up. Not good. Ended up stopping longer and went for a walk with dog around woodland area. Would go and visit again. Could do with a little more parking. I went on a Tuesday and I ended up driving round for ages. If I didn't find the spot I did then Edwinstowe shops etc would have missed out. And I can't be the only one.

A brilliant little find ! Lots of great little craft and artisan shops for all with limited free parking. A great little cafe and you can get some lovely gifts. Dogs are allowed in the courtyard but not inside. Can highly recommend Major Brew if you love coffee. So definitely worth a visit especially if you are already in the area to visit the Giant Oak in Sherwood Forest.
Clare N — Google review
A small group of us arrived and easily found tables to sit at. Orders are placed at the counter and delivered to your table. A seasonal offering of turkey, stuffing and cranberry cob was available and was delicious . A slight downside was one order came without an item and one order was probably placed wrong by one of our group. The owner apologised for the mix up but there was nothing to apologise for. Will definitely try to return before the Christmas cob finishes.

A wonderful place to support small local businesses. Unique items for special gifts. So many different shops, from under fives to beautiful scarves, handmade soap to hand-made copper bits. I love buying here.

£3.00 parking, café, information center, exhibition centre, gift shop, easy to get to, friendly atmosphere, plenty of old and disfigured tree's to discover, ice cream van available, plenty people who take their dogs and children

Visited this park on Sunday with my 3 year old. She loved it, her favourite ride was the horse one for want of a better name, she loves horses and I've never seen a ride like this one before. The attendant was very professional and polite and had patience with my daughter as she went on the ride about 20 times in a row. It's not large amusement park however for a young child it will keep them entertained for an hour or so. The rest of the staff at the park were very friendly and welcoming. Not too bad in terms of cost, the horse ride was two tokens a go but lasts for a minute at a time so you could spend 50 quid easily by the time you have taken a complete tour of the rides and arcade. However ill definitely go there again as my daughter enjoyed it and that's the main thing.
John S — Google review
Just to update anyone visiting via car it's now £5.00 parking, however this an all day ticket. The FAIR is, great for Little ones, I would say if your kids are over five forget it, best for under fives really, it's well worn and could do with some refurbishment, it's tokens only and you will have to use some of those tokens to accoumpny you child if under three years of age. Great place to go though for a small family on a sunny day
Ian K — Google review

Great fun sneaking through the woods looking for the Sheriff of Nottingham, meeting up with lots of other outlaws of all ages and playing hide'n'sneak with the grandkids.... well Nanny mostly! Visitors centre is fabulous, cafe was a treat and the fun fair next to the car park was so exciting I nearly wet myself (especially on the huge slide that disappears into the clouds).

Took 2 kids and they enjoyed it. Staff were friendly. Not great value for money though… £2 per person per ride can add up quite quickly.

Always loved Alfs fair at Edwinstowe, I went as a kid, I took my kids & now I take my grandkids. Great fun & locally run & owned & deserves all the support we can give them.
Steve R — Google review
This was a five star experience! this little park is great for the family after you have had a walk around Sherwood forest country park. the staff were so pleasant and helpful the ride were so cleanly kept. was most definitely worth the money it was like £1 a ride which if you go to wheelgate its a less more family friendly and more expensive like you pay on the door but if your child decides s/he doesnt like rides thats it money wasted! whereas you pay per ride so if your child doesn't like the ride you get your money back! great place to go to recommended it to all my friends! #1 place!

St Mary’s Church in Edwinstowe is steeped in legend, famously known as the site where Robin Hood and Maid Marian are said to have exchanged vows. Nestled along a tranquil road just north of the village center, this charming church marks either the beginning or end of the scenic Robin Hood Way, which leads all the way to Nottingham Castle.
There is no fee to visit or tour the church. While we were there one of the parishioners gave us a very nice tour.
Hattie S — Google review
Visiting Sherwood Forest and the home of Robin Hood has been on my bucket list for years. St Mary's church wasn't 🤔. Anyhow, we holidayed in Edwinstowe for a couple of days last month. I throughly enjoyed walking through the forest and seeing the great oak but the cherry on the top was going into St Mary's church. The chap that gave us a personal tour was amazing. I don't normally do churches but I was absolutely mesmerised by his knowledge. I wish I could remember his name but I do remember he was getting over a chest infection. If I see 'the face' in any other church windows I'll let him know. Karen, Lancaster

Beautiful place so rich in history. There was a guy there I didn't catch his name, but he took the time to guide us around the place and tell us all about the place from it's construction in 1100's up to present day. Very knowledgeable and interesting. If you're visiting sherwood, I highly recommend a detour to the church.

According to legend in this church Robin Hood Lady Marian. An interesting idea was to place colorful figures of various heroes from the time of Robin Hood in the cemetery around the church and inside it. Something what attracts children a lot.

Lovely church, where Robin Hood and Maid Marrion were supposedly wed. Very accommodating church staff and even got a guided tour of the church, and the history of the rare stone alter. I won't ruin it for you but ask, very interesting story behind it! Well.worth a visit if you're in the area!

The Cafe in Sherwood Forest, located in Edwinstowe, England, is a charming eatery situated in the Art & Craft Center and is known for its fresh homemade scones, Punjana tea, and Illy coffee. Under new ownership for over 15 years by Paul & Maryse Lambley, this cafe has become a favorite spot for visitors to enjoy delightful cream teas.
Great cafe, lovely atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The Gluten Free options were good and absolutely delicious 😋
Lizzy B — Google review
We visit this cafe on a regular basis and the food is always delicious. The service is also good and despite being very busy at times it is a nice peaceful place to eat. I would have given 5 stars but one member of staff is so rude. We have experienced it ourselves before, having dared to ask for more salt and recently witnessed her having a stand up row with a gentleman which was uncomfortable for those witnessing it and definitely unprofessional. The young lady who served us today however couldn’t have been more helpful, as are all of the other staff
Catherine H — Google review
Tucked away in the charming arts and crafts center, this little cafe is a nice spot to take a break. With seating options inside the center and outside in the peaceful backyard, it's a relaxing place to enjoy a coffee and pastry. The kind service staff aim to please, though they struggle to keep up with the demands of customers at their small operation. The coffees are nicely brewed and the cake slices are fresh from the bakery. With some extra hands on deck during the busier times, the service could be sped up to better match the calming ambiance. But the cozy location and tasty treats make this a cafe I'll return to when I want to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Sam A — Google review
What a great Cafe in a great location!. A genuine British Sherwood Forest experience. Good quality fresh food, lovely staff and quick efficient service even though they were overrun. Sitting in the courtyard with the great little shops around and good quality food is a pleasure.
Peter D — Google review
Me and my friend Jill went here for lunch today and it was amazing. We both had a cheese and ham panini, coffee and a lemon meringue cupcakes. The food was gorgeous. The cheese was so tasty, the salad that came with the panini was so delicious and so fresh. The cupcakes were so moist and amazing. It was so peaceful even though there was alot of people. The cafe was so clean and tidy. I will definitely go here again and I will also recommend it to all my friends and family.
Lynne W — Google review
This is such a lovely place. Right in the craft centre, you can sit in the cafe, in the covered courtyard or outside. Dogs aren't allowed in so a chilly or hot day might put people off but it's a lovely place to stop and have lunch while visiting the craft shops .
Kim — Google review
Unbelievably rude man, I left immediately after arriving by bike having been told to move my bike (that I was literally just dismounting), when I asked where I could put it I was told “chuck it in a field for all I care just don’t leave it there where I’m going to serve food”. This was of course shouted directly into my face in an intimidating fashion. As a point of note there are no bike racks or anywhere obviously suitable to leave or lock a bike, but leaning a bike on a wall while trying to look for somewhere to lock it clearly isn’t tolerated. Cyclists - avoid at all cost.

Where to start, staff very friendly and helpful, starters nice, mains is where it went wrong, steak was so chewy I couldn't eat it worst steak iv had in a very long time . Wife said her dinner was nice but nothing special. Because of this we skipped desert, drinks, coffee etc and left. To be fair to the staff we did not get charged for the steak. Overall disappointing evening won't be going back, shame because it's a nice place with nice staff let down by the food.

These days I rarely comments on food and services but when I come across this one I need to. It was a cold Sunday afternoon and the street was quiet, both husband and I was tired and needed to have some food. We came across this restaurant and we just walk in. It's a beautiful warm and charming restaurant. The person that took our orders was smiling and happy. She allowed us to order one set lunch to share. When the food came with great presentation, clean, smooth and simply delicious!!! The mussel was so good with the taste of ocean and butter ! The Sunday Roast my husband clean the plate!! The dessert was smooth, silky and delicious! Good job Chefs!! If I come to this area again. I'll 100% dine here!!
Magrobo O — Google review
Really friendly family atmosphere, and we were made to feel super-welcome with our baby. We were thoughtfully given a table with plenty of space for a pushchair, and provided with a good highchair. Food is excellent; high quality, imaginative and generous - it's rare to get all three together! Starters were outstanding, good bottle of red, and overall really good value.
Andy C — Google review
Really nice restaurant. Had the portions been just a tad more generous it would have been 4 star. For example my starter of Prawns and pork consisted of a piece of belly pork approx 2 Inch square and 3 prawns and for £9 thought was a tad meagre. All the food served was beautifully presented and the service was excellent. All staff were polite, smart and efficient. If any gripe about the food the vegetables are undercooked which appears to be the way but personally I like them cooked a bit more. But this is a tiny criticism. The place itself is very classy and overall recommend you give it a try.
Malc W — Google review
Delicious! This place feels underrated, it’s really strong especially compared to relatively local competition and delivers some great, elegant, well presented tasty dishes. Think fine dining for some, but without unnecessary faff and with more accessible dishes on the menu. The service is friendly and classy - we’d visit more if we were closer.

This hotel was extremely disappointing. The rooms look nothing like the images online and the room smelt like sewage. The whole room was tilted because the floor was uneven. The windows were dirty and I just felt very unhygienic whilst staying here. The bath also had no hot water. The man at the reception desk was nice and accommodating but apart from that it was awful. We did ask to move rooms which was nicer than the original but we were quite pleased to be going back home😬

Visited Forest Lodge a couple of times recently and I’m really impressed. On the first visit we had drinks only and sat on the terrace which was a sun trap made known to us by the really lovely lady behind the bar. Visited today with a friend for lunch and the experience was very good. The pub is a traditional olde worlde pub which serves a good selection of real ales as well as the more popular beers. The lunchtime menu has something for everyone from a sandwich or jacket to a full meal. The choice is good both on the savoury and sweet menu.I chose scampi which was wholetail served with well cooked chunky chips and peas - lovely! My friend chose omelet and salad and again well cooked and well presented. For dessert I had raspberry Creme brûlée which was a good portion and delicious. My friend chose a sponge pudding again a generou portion of deliciousness. The lady took our order promptly and the food was cooked speedily and served to us piping hot. The menu is reasonably priced. If you’re in Edwinstowe this place is well worth a visit. You can also book rooms and stay here but I can’t comment on that aspect. Great job Forest Lodge - keep up the good work!

We stayed for two nights last week and cannot fault their rooms and service. The breakfast menu is a real treat. Everything is freshly cooked and prepared. A friendly bar and wonderful staff. Dawn looked after us and was great. A fine place to stay in a beautiful village. Thank you all.

The only redemption this Inn has, is the location. Else, the room I was in is all wonky, all light bulbs are different colour, the blinds did not work and you are beside a busy road. Of course, there was no air conditioning and the shower was electric installed 2m above ground. How are smaller people meant to control that? The breakfast is a joke. There is no buffet, there is a selection of 4 meals. They are tiny, and server from 07:30! Where at that time I needed to be away for work! The receptionist just said "I'm terribly sorry" and just left without making anything right. These people use tacky, dirty keys to open a latch to the rooms! How has this Inn got soo many good reviews?

Excellent, lovely greeting from Dawn, great service from Emily. Food was brilliant hubby had the delicious Sunday lunch which is served until 8pm and I was catered for brilliantly as I have a dietary issue. The rooms were really clean and well stocked with teas, coffee's and hot chocolate. The hotel is a wonderful traditional old building we loved it. Plenty of car parking. The stairs to the upstairs rooms could be tricky for the less abled but they do have other accessible rooms. Sherwood forest is a 5 minute walk. We will definitely use it again.

If I could give zero stars I would. We arrived having booked on booking.com. I said to the receptionist "hi we have just booked about 15 Minutes ago" she replied well I don't know how we are full. I showed her the booking reservation from booking.com which was non refundable. She said well you will have to contact them. Zero apology or any sympathy. I stood in reception contacting booking.com as I explained it was a non refundable booking. I asked of they could cancel this to be told no I had to do it. Booking.com couldn't of been nicer. The lady called the hotel to get the receptionist, who then put her on hold to answer another incoming call. I was furious. When she eventually could be bothered with the call from booking.com she offered no resolution and just said they were full. As a customer standing in reception with my bags in hand. I would of expected an apology. And perhaps a suggestion of where else local we could of got a room for the night. This isn't too much to ask. But we got nothing not even a bye. To say we left unhappy was an understatement. We were told the only guest that hadn't checked in's name etc ... Not professional or required at this stage. This hotel needs to upgrade it's systems or stop accepting bookings and taking people's money when there is no rooms.. clearly either a staffing issue..or: there not doing there jobs or an IT issue. To say that the receptionist needs to take up in a drs surgery and not a Hotel is probably a understatement. As empathy is clearly not a recognized quality.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely, friendly staff. Dog friendly - we could have ours in our room for an extra £20. They also did a gluten free breakfast for me. Location is great too - a few minutes to walk to Sherwood Forest.

Historical landmark
The Major Oak, also known as Robin Hood's tree, is an ancient and iconic oak tree steeped in local folklore. Estimated to be over 800 years old, it stands as a symbol of the enduring history of Sherwood Forest. The forest itself is a Special Area of Conservation, boasting a rich ecosystem with over 200 species of spiders and 1500 species of beetles alongside various birds and wildlife. Visitors can explore the extensive paths and trails that wind through the woodlands.
Lovely walks, plenty of places to sit on route. Nice cafe at the visitors centre. Have some great Robin Hood festivals which are well worth visiting. There can be a queue for the car park so factor that into your visit.
Ruth R — Google review
Ample parking pay and display but free to RSPB members. There’s a visitor centre with a shop, cafe, kids play area. Well marked paths and tracks throughout the extensive ancient wooded forest. The “Major Oak” is a must see on any walk whilst exploring.

Nice walks around Sherwood forest, including the Major Oak. At over a 1000 years old it's looking it's age with lots of supports and tlc but then again I'd need some help pushing old age! Nice coffee shop before you enter the venue.

Well worth it, such a special land mark in the history of the UK. With well maintained hikes, the visit to the major Oak is a fun activity
Paul — Google review
Not been here since I was a kid so it was great going back. Theres some great walks to do and a superb visitors centre for all your Robin Hood themed things to buy amongst other things.
Rob A — Google review
There are nice walks/trails there. It's an old 800 to 1100 yr old tree propped up with metal poles. The parking is on the opposite side of the road were you enter. It is £6 for all day parking. Even if you only stay for 2hrs, It's still £6!
Gavin B — Google review
Lovely forest to visit but the tree is a bit underwhelming. It’s basically a tree that humans have refused to let nature take its course for the sake of attracting visitors. The tree has so many chains and supports it almost feels cruel. Just let the tree die a dignified death. The forest however, has beautiful trails all through it with some fantastic prep holes set up with info on the oak trees which is a great way to learn about them at all ages.
Zoe M — Google review
Very well maintained tree and forest area. The tree still shows signs of life thanks to the preservation efforts. Love the folklore aspect as well.

Fish and chips takeaway

Nestled in the charming village of Edwinstowe, Robin Hood Plaice is a delightful eatery that captures the essence of local flavor. Just a stone's throw from the legendary site where Robin Hood supposedly wed Maid Marian, this spot serves as a perfect pit stop for those exploring the picturesque surroundings. The former 18th-century coaching inn has been beautifully revamped and now boasts a warm atmosphere complemented by friendly staff who are always eager to assist.
Don’t use these much even though we live in the village, we heard they now have the gluten free option.decided on a mini fish meal, it was great, good value didn’t wait long all good..

Excellent gluten free options with 5 fryers used so gluten free available every day without forward warning. Prompt with readiness when ordered online. Great findz thoroughly recommend.
E S — Google review
Wow... we have ordered for the first time today from this place and I can tell you we were dissapointed and that is being kind. There was hardly any meat in the kebab, most of it is chips only, it looks like there is a lot of meat but the chips are right under it, there is hardly any sauce and the price for the kebab is over the top for what it actually is. The only good thing os how quick delivery was. I can tell you that we will not be ordering from here again. Picture of how much sauce you get with your kebab....
Karolina P — Google review
Friendly staff making great food. Can order online or over the phone with pick up or delivery. Highly recommend as they have a lot to offer including vegetarian options and gluten free Great service

Wonderful menu choice. Friendly staff. My wife is gluten, dairy and egg intolerant. We come from near Hull, we have found all the fish and chip shops in our area also cook cheesy gluten free products in the same fryer, thus causing my wife problems. We found this whilst staying at centre parcs and now drive here for our fish treat

Recently cut down on their hours and closing early and not open all the time. Fish portions are nice but on the small side but you do get mountains of chips. Kebabs are good size and tasty.

Sherwood Forest Holiday Park is a riverside campground with tent and caravan pitches, offering a shop, laundrette, and showers. The staff are friendly and always ready to assist. The facilities are clean, heated, and of good standard. Pitches are located next to a river with TV aerial points available. The site offers great dog walks but pets must be kept on a lead.
Avoid riverside if you’re after a peaceful holiday. The site is beautiful and well maintained. Staff friendly. But we’ve just had a week from hell as our pitch was the “pathway’ to the river. 20+ kids moving my chairs.
Katherine H — Google review
Just spent our Easter break here at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park. Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were brilliant, the site was clean and we had asked for a quieter part of the site which we got - and the pitches were a very good size. The only reason I gave 4* and not 5* were the toilets/showers. Although clean, they were dated and the shower you had to push the button like every 5 seconds and when trying to shower it was a pain. Also the block we had only had 2 showers so as it was a busy weekend, there was a wait. Also, remember to take a hairdryer as there were none in the block we were in. Again with the showers, no where to put your shower gel on, no seat/bench just 2 little hooks which is hard to hang your clothes on and towel. But overall we were more than happy with the site and the cost was also good for our stay. We shall be returning but no doubt take a little foldable seat for the shower to put stuff on and a Velcro strap for them push button showers.
Stuart B — Google review
Stayed for a long weekend and loved this site, the pitches are a great size and a good distance apart from each other, staff very nice and toilets/shower blocks very clean. Also great location for walks. 10/10 site
Richard J — Google review
It’s a nice campsite, however, the showers where we stayed offered the push in button type, average 15 seconds between push!!! They were also one directional, and no option to change the heat setting (set to hot, and we stayed during the heatwave), not ideal. The men’s shower block in ‘Lime’ also had one out of three out of use and the other two flooded past the door. WiFi was sketchy to say the least and it was very disappointing to find a Strava recorded 22km walk was lost due to this. Would I stay here again for the price, no.
Pat D — Google review
A fantastic campsite right in the middle of sherwood forest. Very clean facilities, well kept and organised. A nice park for kids to use and plenty of space for them to run aroundand play. Can bike or walk straight into the woods. Just under 10 minute drive to the major oak. Would definitely recommend.
Zara — Google review
Stayed here over bank holiday weekend, the location itself is lovely and the wardens very helpful. We stayed on riverside, mainly because it was near the play park. We had a huge pitch which backed in to the river which was perfect however we came to realise that pitch etiquette wasn’t a thing and it was normal for adults and children to constantly walk through our pitch to get to the river, I wouldn’t have minded quite so much but rather than take the outside route they were walking between the van and the car. We had people park on our pitch for the day, children playing with footballs etc on our pitch it took away the peace and enjoyment from been able to sit outside our van. Children’s play area is very old dated and damaged and in desperate need of funding to renew the equipment. Showers are basic but clean and large. There’s different things on at certain times all in all it was a good break but could have been better but the location is perfect. If your hooking up make sure you have a way to hook onto the tv Ariel point on site
Della K — Google review
It's been an excellent experience the children absolutely loved camping we have had so much activities the site was great and we would definitely be coming back next year this camping site is highly recommended It is excellent for families and groups alike we loved our page and the river and the play area excellent company Thank you very much

If you're on the lookout for exceptional jewellery services, A.L Jewellery is a gem worth exploring. After a disappointing experience with another local jeweller, I turned to Amy at A.L Jewellery and was thrilled with the results. She not only repaired my cherished bracelet flawlessly but also crafted stunning bespoke rings and earrings that truly reflect her expertise. The turnaround time for custom pieces is impressively quick compared to other places in the area.
A.L Jewellery was recommended to me after I took a favourite bracelet to another local jeweller for repair and was disappointed in their work. I am pleased to say that not only did Amy rescue my prized bracelet and fix it properly at a fraction of the price charged by the other jeweller, but she has also made me a bespoke ring and earrings. She knows her craft and gives excellent service. The waiting times for commissions is way shorter than at other places nearby. Cannot praise her highly enough.
Susie P — Google review
Yet again, Amy has done a brilliant job. We have used her a few times to clean our wedding rings. She has adjusted the size and cleaned them this time, I'm so pleased. I have had pieces from her in the past and they were beautiful. I have recommended her to my family and friends and will continue to do so. Very happy.

Kashmir Tandoori has been a go-to spot for many who crave authentic Indian cuisine. With years of reliable service, patrons appreciate that their meals arrive hot and well-packaged every time. The dishes are celebrated for their distinct flavors, avoiding the common pitfall of being overly greasy or just spicy. Each curry offers a unique taste experience, making it a favorite choice when seeking flavorful Indian fare.

The worst curry I’ve ever had, EVER. If you are at centre parks, or anywhere for that matter, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The food was all cold, tasted horrible, and they missed half of our order. We waited over 30mins after the estimated delivery time as well. Look at the photos, we paid £63 for it, absolute daylight robbery and all was stone cold.
Jack W — Google review
It's a no from me, arrived on time and still piping hot, I can see why people like this curry house, unfortunately the chicken masala was crazy salty (and I'm a smoker who loves salt) made it so we ended up throwing half a pizza and the curry, nothing against the place just taste preference. £20 plus delivery small hawian pizza and a chicken tikka masala

****DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE**** Absolute joke, please see photos £30.10p donner kebab .. we asked hot chilli mint yoghurt and lettuce .. arrived with none of the above Chicken kebab .. we asked for mayo and all salad .. arrived with none of the above Cheesy chips Absolute rip off I would advise all to never use this shop

The absolute worst curry I've ever tasted in my life. I love curry. But this had no flavour was weirdly jelly like, the onion bhaji was hard as rock. Just strange and know I'm guna be badly from the little bit I ate. Shut shop
Lauren W — Google review
I’m very disappointed with the meal we received last night. It arrived nearly two hours late, and the paneer dansak my husband ordered was not what we expected — it seemed more like a paneer pasanda. Even more concerning, we found hair in the curry. Unfortunately, shortly after eating it, my husband became very ill. He has had severe diarrhoea, cold sweats, and stomach pain since this morning and has been unable to leave the bathroom. This has been a deeply unpleasant and worrying experience. We expect better hygiene and care in food preparation. I hope this is taken seriously and addressed properly to ensure this does not happen again. We will never order food from this place again.

Absolutely disgusting...never again. Given it one star but would give less if possible. An hour an a half for delivery. Lots missing. Apparently not able to sen out the missing items, or issue a refund for the missing items. Manager due to call us back...surprise, surprise no call ever came. Food beyond disgusting. Never again. Avoid. Save your money
Jodie M — Google review
Food shows up 45 minutes late. It's all cold with missing items. The kebab is almost empty and the tikka looks like it's a packet from Aldi. The restaurant clearly has got their phone unhooked as for the last hour of trying to call we are getting line busy. This business is a joke. Don't waste your money here. Far better options around.

After taking a stroll in the woods, I visited Smoke&Ice Edwinstowe where I indulged in some incredible cuisine. My companion raved about their Korean burger, claiming it was the best he had ever tasted! We also devoured potato skins topped with pulled pork, which were absolutely delightful. Although we couldn't try their tempting desserts and milkshakes due to lack of space, we are already planning our next visit to fully experience all they have to offer.
Absolutely delicious food. Staff were really friendly also. Never been before so you can try the sauces you get on the roast potatoes. Helpful with menu items, great atmosphere.

Visited here to start the stag do off, excellent decision chosen by the best man. I chose to go for the S&I Buddha Box with a mix of Killer Korean Fried Chicken & Korean Paneer served with pickled radish ,sweet soy, spicy gochujang and Japanese mayo sauces. This tasted beautifully, cooked to perfection, fresh & looked amazing. I’ll definitely be visiting again if in the area.

They accept card. Let them know if you have allergies - there are Gluten-free,  vegan, vegetarian options available. The venue had a nice atmosphere and the music was not overwhelmingly loud (perfect level). I got a lemon meringue slice (gf) and a Nutella shake (gf). The flavors wonderfully and perfectly blended together with the lemon being spot on, not over flavored, and not overdone in anyway. It was well balanced from the crust to the lemon and meringue layers. The Nutella shake was perfect with the amount of Nutella, Hazelnut, and homemade whip topped with a chocolate flake. There is a bathroom for customers. There are indoor and outdoor seating options with there being high and normal table heights (if you have a preference). Clean and open. Very happy with my experience.

After hearing amazing things about Smoke&Ice we decided to give it a try. The place looks lovely and the staff were so welcome. The food did not disappoint, the portions were big and the food was absolutely amazing! When I got there I decided to add a pudding to our order (you won’t be able to walk out without one!) it’s fantastic to see companies work together - cakeys cheesecakes were also very yummy! Even our children want to try it next time we visit! I’m so glad we have a place like this and even better that it’s only a 10 minute drive! We’re planning our next visit already. Thank you for an amazing meal & service. I have my fingers crossed that Smoke&Ice go far, it’s totally deserved! Vikki x

One of the popular spots in the area is Launay's Restaurant & Bar, known for its lovely atmosphere, spacious rooms, and delicious food.
What an incredible establishment. We live locally but have never been into The Royal Oak. I am so glad we did. We visited on a lovely sunny Sunday lunch time and was immediately greeted by a member of staff. We hadn't booked but luckily they had a table free for us. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and attentive to our needs. Nothing was too much trouble. I opted for the Beef roast dinner and my husband had beef & turkey. All I can say is you will not be disappointed. Every aspect of the meal was sensational. We also opted for the cauliflower cheese and my days, this is incredible. I love how you can see your meals being prepped by the chefs, it was quite fascinating to watch and also a nice touch that 'nothing is being hidden'. 100% would recommend and we cannot wait to come back.

Hot summer evening. Traditional pub in a village steeped in the history of Robin Hood. We both had burgers. My husband loved the smash burger. A tasty beef patty topped with pulled pork. I had the mushroom and halloumi burger which was amazing. Will definitely recommend this place and plan to visit again soon.

Wow the best roast dinner we’ve had in ages! Absolutely amazing potatoes & beef. Even the veg was beautiful, lovely service and smiley staff. Brilliant thank you!

After a morning of chasing Robin Hood through Sherwood Forest we made our way to The Royal Oak for a well-earned rest and a proper English roast. What a find! Cosy, charming, and just the kind of place you'd imagine Robin himself stopping by for a pint. We were welcomed warmly and seated for lunch, where the Sunday roast did not disappoint — tender meat, fluffy Yorkshire puds, crispy roast potatoes, and lashings of rich gravy. Every bite felt like a reward for our forest adventures. We paired it with a classic pint, sat back, and soaked in the atmosphere of the English countryside pub life. Friendly staff, hearty food, and a cracking good location.

We ate here two days in a row after having the best Lamb Kofta I’ve ever had. Husband and I couldn’t stop declaring how delicious it was. Had a Sunday Roast the next day which was good too.

A really nice pub, great friendly staff and atmosphere, nice pint of lager shandy and a Steak and Ale pie with Mashed Potato and Vegetables with a lovely jug of Gravy. Could not fault it at all. Will definitely visit again on my return to Sherwood Forest.

Lovely Atmosphere, beautiful decor Burgers and Fresh Sea food Dishes and the Pies are fantastic. House Salad asked for no dressing, still got dressing and micro tomatoes and olives not to my taste to be honest. The portion of fries was impressive and very tasty. Would love more Gluten free options and the choice to meet my needs was fries and salad only and couldn't eat the salad

Just had the Royal Oak Sunday roast. Wow! the beef was pink and succulent, the roasties were perfect as was the Yorkshire pudding, vegetables and gravy and they don’t skimp on the portions. The staff were helpful and friendly and I love that they don’t cram too many tables into the restaurant. My daughter was bowled over by the lemon tart and raspberry dessert. We’ll definitely be booking again soon.
