War museum
Narvik War Museum is a compelling destination for history enthusiasts, offering insights into the impact of war. The museum delves into the Nazi-Germany's attack on Northern Norway and the subsequent occupation, as well as broader implications of warfare. It features exhibitions focused on the Narvik Campaign during World War II, showcasing authentic artifacts, photographs, and narratives that provide a poignant glimpse into the past. The immersive experience incorporates multimedia elements to transport visitors to that era.
An excellent museum that mixes classic cabinet style exhibits with excellent new audio visual content. Well laid out. Some fantastic artefacts and, while the focus is the Narvik campaign, it has context for the broader Norwegian experience of WW2.
Dex M — Google review
One of many WWII museums in Norway, like always with a local touch; here about the battle over Narvik, massively destroyed. A must for anyone interested in our recent history as it relates to occupation of other countries.
Sebastian R — Google review
Learning more about Norway’s history completely changed my road trip experience through the country. The museum clearly shows Norway’s position during one of the most significant wars in human history. Understanding the past, the battles, and the losses also makes us reflect on the present, the future, and the value of life. If you get the chance, it’s definitely worth setting aside a few hours to dive deeper into this part of Norwegian history. The museum is very complete, with artifacts from the time such as letters, radios, clothing, photos, audio recordings, weapons, and even vehicles. It was an intense and transformative visit that I truly recommend!
Luana M — Google review
We had the most wonderful experience in this poorly advertised Museum. We were lucky enough to have a private after-hours tour with the very knowledgeable Alf. We had no idea that we would be so thoroughly engrossed for about 1 ½ hours. The original items housed here are incredible - weapons, uniforms, battle and invasion information and pieces from daily lives. These are things we had only ever seen in movies. Really nice presentation and a really thoughtful, well-curated Museum. We couldn’t believe how small and inadequate the signage is- this is an amazing Museum and deserves more notice.
Lee — Google review
The museum has a strong focus on the World War II fighting in and around Narvik … to gain control over the harbor (and the steel that was shipped here). Towards the end it asks: How far could you go to for what you believe is right? Difficult question, isn‘t it!? We recommend visiting the museum while in Narvik, in particular if you plan to visit Kiruna.
F V — Google review
While the museum was not that large, it was a informative and enjoyable visit.
Alwin — Google review
Excellent museum. Superbly laid out with engaging exhibits and an extraordinary number of local artifacts from WWII. (Even though I'm not a militaria buff, it really captured my interest. It really brings to life the background to Narvik's WWII story by explaining the military campaigns and the impact on the local people). Recommended.
Phil L — Google review
This is a Museum with a story telling the World War II from Norways perspective. Incredible artefacts from the war, including replicas, regenerated voice of war victims, shows and exhibitions. It's best experienced with reading through the captions and listening to the voiceovers on the 'Euseum' app. A third floor has a more general view on wars and the perspectives on killing other human beings. Must visit!

I visited Narvik in April 2018 during the end of winter, where the temperature was a chilly -2 degrees Celsius. It was necessary for tourists and seafarers to have appropriate winter clothing when visiting this country due to the extreme cold. I only had the chance to visit the wall place due to the harsh weather conditions. One of the popular attractions in this region is skiing, especially as winter comes to an end. This sport is not only useful but also excellent.
Excellent experience. First place visited and Stale was very helpful. Not just places to see, a walkinh map to see the town, but also train bookings (station office was closed for renovations). Next to the War Museum which is a must-see

We visited NARVIK ending winter April 2018 and the temperature is -2deg.celcius at that time. It is indeed very cold so if you are tourists or seaferers you must have a winter clothings visiting this country... We only visited the wall place because of coldnest. Popular site on this region is skiing specially when winter time is getting ended...

The tourism office offered multiple wrong informations. Price of the cable car was more than said, they did not say it was a 50minutes walk uphill... And there was a bu Like Bergen (maybe all Norway cities ? ) the bus informations are not available on google maps, with no well made replacement. Impossible to find which one to take by ourselves. The auroras cite pointed by the tourism office was not the best one which is a little further (and where expensive tours bring you, maybe that is on purpose...). By the way, given it's avery big touristic activity they could arrange a little platform without any lights... Impossible to find a spot without lights around, it is so sad... That brings down the visibility of stars and auroras a lot... People working there should travel a little to get ideas, and work authorities to make transport data available.

The Narvik Library is a wonderful institution that tells the tale of the people of Northern Norway and their principles. To fully appreciate the visit, it is advisable to explore this place multiple times as there are fresh experiences awaiting each time. The service provided by the staff is exceptionally accommodating, ensuring that all attendees at OPPLYST are promptly assigned suitable seating. The library itself is outstanding, offering excellent coffee and displaying a warm sense of hospitality.
(Translated by Google) I'm from Poland, I went there to the War Museum because in one building we have: the above-mentioned museum, a tourist information point with a shop, the Punktum cafe (I recommend it!) and a library. Unfortunately, I don't speak Norwegian, but I love books and libraries. That's why I ventured among the shelves. The book collection and other collections are very rich and everything is in order. I envy the inhabitants of Narvik such a place. I was very happy because I found "The Witcher" by Sapkowski on the shelf. Not only am I from Poland, but I am also from Łódź, where I live. Your heart grows. Thanks are also due to the Nice Girl, an employee of the museum/library, who not only told us where to go to see something interesting, but also drew it all nicely and legibly on the map. Thank you!

The Trinigon 3 sculpture in Narvik, known as Narvik's Monument for peace and freedom, was gifted by the Norwegian government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of liberation in 1945. Constructed from highly polished steel, this impressive triangular structure stands tall at a height of 59 feet. However, it had to be rebuilt three times due to damage caused during a storm. Situated in the city center, alongside it lies the Scandic Narvik Hotel.

The Narvik Motor Museum is a quality establishment with impressive exhibits. It provides valuable insights into historical events and showcases significant war artifacts, along with personal narratives. Although the museum's location may pose a challenge to visitors, it can be found in the lower level of the War Museum. In order to access tickets, one must inquire at the reception desk. Overall, this compact museum offers an engaging educational experience for those interested in motor history and wartime memorabilia.
There are couple of good displays in this museum. A good history lesson on what happened, some relics from the war, and some personal experiences told.

Narvik Rent A Car

Car rental agency
When visiting Narvik and Lofoten in Norway, renting a car is essential for exploring the vast and spread-out areas beyond the city center. Narvik Rent A Car offers a great option for car rentals, with convenient locations at Evenes Airport and within the city. Customers have praised their experiences with this local rental service, highlighting the thoughtful and accommodating owner, Vitalijus.
We had a great kayak tour. We were relatively spontaneous, but we were able to hire four kayaks on the same day. The kayaks were even delivered directly to the beach and we got a great introduction. They are very friendly and everything went very smoothly. We would rent a kayak there again at any time.
Noemi F — Google review
We rented two cars for one week. We chose two cars a little bit old, but they were in good condition, perfect to travel through Lofoten islands. And the price was really cheap respect the more important rental companies like Avis or Europcar. Vitalijus supported us during the pick and drop of the cars. Good experience, I suggest Narwikrentacar.
Gabriele C — Google review
Found Narvik Rent A Car online & sent a request with immediate and informative response. Delivered and returned car to cruise port. Excellent service and fair price. Vitalijus communication skills were superior. Car rental was flawless. I rent a lot of cars and this experience was as good as it gets, Great company!
Edie O — Google review
We spontaneously rented a car for a one day trip within the Narvik region. It was super efficient and easy. Many cars were available for low prices and they were very well equipped for the cold weather. We also received some very useful tips for other small trips in the region. Anytime again, highly recommend! :)
Lena S — Google review
Reasonable pricing and good customer support. Although their cars are not as flashy as those from international agencies, they are sturdy and gets the job done. Vitalijus and his team is very responsive. Whenever we have a question about the rented car, road rules or ferry crossing, he is there to help on phone. Pick up and drop off instructions is by email, clear and easy to follow. Glad that we chose to rent from this local practice instead of international agencies.
Wong B — Google review
Great local business. We needed a car quickly, after our train trip got cancelled an hour before departure. Narvik Rent A Car managed to get us a car within about 45 minutes - delivered to the city centre. The car was rather worn out but we were happy to be able to drive around at all. Communication was personal and super friendly. We were able to drop the car at the cruise terminal, which was a big plus for us.
L — Google review
We needed a car for the next day (Saturday), we first contacted them via email at Friday evening. Vitalijus was very helpful, friendly and communicative. On Saturday morning we had a car rented. A bit older one with some wears, but for a very reasonable price and he offered us also newer models. The only stressful situation was about drop-off at the airport. It's not crystal clear, so be sure you got exact instructions ahead of time.
Jakub H — Google review
Locally owned business that I recommend 10000000%. Even for a last minute request (I booked the car less than a week before) and with a not so cooperative train that made me 1hr late on the pickup day, Vitalijus was really nice and accommodating. If you want a relaxing time around the Lofoten Islands, here is your gem!

Fast food restaurant
Burger King NARVIK is a popular fast-food destination that delights visitors with its signature grilled burgers, crispy fries, and creamy shakes. While the food consistently impresses patrons with its quality and taste, some guests have noted that the service could be improved for international customers. For instance, order numbers are often announced in Swedish rather than English, which can create confusion for those who don’t speak the language fluently.
Compared to last time I went at Burger King of Ankara station. Plenty of self service sauce, tissues and drinks. And a various menu as the prices are also various. I order 3 kinds of burgers it takes a few minutes that ut takes more than 10 minutes in Ankara. The staff also speaks English each other.
Ippo S — Google review
Today I and my husband visited the restaurant at Narvik. It was very sad experience. Waste on the floor, overcrowded wastebaskets, french fries on the floor, like nobody cleaned the whole day. We waited 20 minutes for the order to be processed, food was tasteless. We live in the Czech Republic, we visit Burger King locations regularly, and we are always satisfied. We didn't expect to be so disappointed in Norway. I am attaching a few photos for the ilustration.

Most expensive BK i been at everything. About 170NOK for a menu that is half that price in Sweden. The food tasted normal BK and was delivered fast The restaurant was not clean

While my order arrived reasonably promptly, the Whopper tastes differently than in the US -- more bland, less smokey. The girls at front counter are unfriendly and clearly DO NOT understand customer service. Dispenser for paper napkins near soft drinks was empty, and, when I asked where I can get paper napkins, one of these front counter girls rudely pointed to the napkins dispenser on the front counter. Additionally, the table I sat at had a full tray of trash on the table. If you HAVE to eat here, be prepared for trash.

The food was fine but it was kinda sad that for these prices the burger was kinda tiny. Also the staff just put the food in the counter and didn't call out numbers or anything . And it was kinda dirty

Food tastes horrible. It took them 10 minutes to make a simple order while no one else was waiting for food. The benches were really dirty and it was hard to even get there by car (on a Sunday). The food was expensive and the fries were in loss of Salt. All in all a bad fast food branch.

We ended up eating at Bella Napoli in Narvik because nearly everything else was closed at the time. The pizza wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it was okay enough to get by 🍕. The crust was decent, and the toppings were fresh, but the overall flavor didn’t quite hit the mark. Not a place I’d go out of my way for, but if you’re in a pinch, it does the job. It’s an average option when other places aren’t available.

Guests can indulge in exquisite yet hearty dishes paired with an impressive selection of wine and beer. The Nordic kafeteria-style interior evokes a sense of nostalgia with its resemblance to cafes from the seventies.
I had an exceptional dining experience at Furu Gastropub! The risotto with mushrooms was rich and flavorful, and the cod with champagne beurre blanc was absolutely delicious. The fish was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed a pint of local beer, which complemented the meal wonderfully. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend Furu Gastropub for anyone looking for a great dining experience!

We had a late dinner in this upscale restaurant. Food was fine and service perfect but prices are sky high even for someone like me living in Switzerland.

Cannot recommend this place or even understand any good reviews for it. Prices are high but the food does not taste any good. The waiter did not ask if we liked the food - probably because she saw our faces lol. This is NOT a typical burger as you know it from Germany or other european countries. It tasted like meatballs after all and is was so damn spicy, never had such a spicy burger before. The restaurant itself was kinda cozy, so I gave this 3 out of 5, but downstairs was a construction site which looked kinda strange.

Very good food and great service in a cosy atmosphere. This place offers a wonderful eating experience in Narvik. The fish courses stand out in particular: hallibut and arctic char are wonderfully prepared with well-thought side dishes. The selection of wines is decent. I highly recommend this place.

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Nedre fjellheisstasjon Narvik, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Narvik Museum. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nedre Fjellheisstasjon Narvik is a must-visit destination, offering a breathtaking 656m ascent via cable car. Visitors can enjoy the stunning views of Narvik from the top, with the convenience of a restaurant and comfortable seating areas. Families with children will appreciate the playground area. For those who prefer not to take the gondola, there's an option to hike up as well.
We had amazing off-piste day with Oscar. Perfect and untouched powders off the piste with interesting forest runs. The unique night ski with headlights is super fun! Highly recommended.

The location of this ski resort is amazing. I loved spending a day here, however it was very disappointing to learn on arrival that there was a skiing competition that was blocking 3 of the 5 available slopes. They eventually opened them gradually. Also, keep in mind there are 2 lifts closed for the season (see attached photo). I don't think this is very clean on their website.

Ski in the view of the sea, snowy mountains and the star, even if you are lucky, the northern light. Stunning runs.

The gondolas up to the top gives a beautiful view of Narvik and the sea. Each gondola has 10 seat. 👍🚡 The restaurant at the top only serves simple foods and drinks. 👎 Out of 3 automates for buying parking and gondola tour only 1 worked! 🅿️👎
Steen J — Google review
Rental equipment is very low quality and very expensive for that also. Additionally, the person at the rental was extremely rude of us. He did not understand our English and since he did not understand, he made fun of us. If you can't talk English properly, it's you I should make fun of. Sorry, we definitely won't take a vacation here again. Great job.

Enjoyed the 10 seater gondola ride, took under 5 minutes. No big queues and still enough space with skis and snowboards. People are friendly and staff are amazing to get you sorted for your rental gear. Day pass and rental is all fairly priced. The view from the top is amazing!

Gondolen i Narvikfjellet offers an unforgettable experience with breathtaking views of Narvik, the fjord, and surrounding mountains. The ride up is a visual feast, especially during autumn when nature showcases its vibrant colors. At the summit, visitors can enjoy delicious meals at the restaurant, which serves everything from burgers to refreshing beverages like juices and beer.
100% worth the price. Which came to 1000 NOK/ $100 USD for 2 adults and a child. The views are spectacular on the ride up and walking around up top. Excellent photo opportunities. The restaurant up top served up an excellent burger. Beer, soda and juices are available for purchase as well.

Reached the cable car location on a group tour of Lofoten-Narvik-Tromsø. It was early December and approx. 1500 hrs, which wasn’t the best season or time to visit. Still, it was an experience to take in the city lights in the dark as the gondola (each can carry up to ten passengers) made its way up to the top. It was a chilly -3°C, but felt even colder due to the constant wind 🥶. I believe the sights would be more worth the ride up in spring/summer, as can be seen in the photos of other reviews.

Really a must do! The view from the gondola and the mountain is spectacular. Especially with the autumn colors it’s really magnificent. I enjoyed to bike down. Also the staff were very friendly.

Fabulous views of Narvik, fjord and mountains. The restaurant at the top even offers some complementary juices. The views are totally mesmerizing. Will highly recommend going there. One improvement: one can buy a ticket online for a particular day even if the lift is closed on that day. This should be corrected since then there is no feedback whether the lift is in operation. I walked up there all the way only to find out that the lift is closed due to weather reasons. The colleague was kind enough to extend the ticket for another day though. All in all it was a wonderful experience

History Museums
Narvik Museum, located in the center of Narvik, offers a fascinating insight into the development of the city and its industrial history. The museum focuses on the story of the Ofoten railway, which transports iron ore from Kiruna in Sweden to Narvik's port for global export. Visitors can explore a simulated carriage and watch a film depicting train travel, as well as enjoy changing exhibitions related to the railway's construction.
5-star mini-museum, definitely worth a visit! It's beautifully done, with a lot of attention to details and great explanations/films (all in English and partly in German too!). We spent about half an hour in the cozy coffee corner afterwards, that alone was worth the entrance fee! Highly recommend!

I loved this museum - the smaller of two in the centre of Narvik. It tells the story of the Ofoten railway that carries iron ore from Kiruna in Sweden to the ice free port of Narvik for export around the world. There is a simulated carriage where you can watch a film - imagining travelling in the train. There is also a changing exhibition which marked the building of the railway from St Petersburg to Murmansk across the Kola peninsula. There is a cafe area downstairs where you can help yourself to drinks and toilets. There were steps to enter and stairs to get upstairs. It is probably best to check it is open before you go - but it seems to usually open at 10am

Excellent service! I've been here several times during my stay in Narvik, and I already had experienced this restaurant once before, so of course I came back, and with no surprise the food was just as good as last time. Since I've bought my food here a couple of times with different people behind the cashier I tried my luck with an unusual order, and just as expected they followed through with my request. Inside the restaurant was cozy music and was furnished accordingly. All in all, this is a great place to bring family or friends, or if you're looking for a quick take away, this place absolutely delivers!

Worst place ever. It’s freaking money stealing. We ordered chicken fried rice and noodles. There were no traces of chicken in both the dishes. kr.235 per plate is too much. They have put just frozen veggies. No sauces added. Plain rice and some frozen veggies. Don’t ever go to this place. We ordered take away for 15 people. Totally charged kr.2300 for 5 chicken fried rice and 5 noodles. Not worth at all for the taste and quantity. I won’t recommend. We feel they have delivered such bad quality food as we are foreigners and we won’t be a regular customer for them. Pls don’t go.
Shobana M — Google review
This place deserves a better rating than the 3.7 stars on Google Maps. Food is fresh and very well prepared. The cooking seems to be a bit adjusted to local taste: what is advertised as spicy is still quite mild. The interior may lack some ambiance, but the very friendly and correct service makes up for that. Of the limited dining options that you have in Narvik, this is one of the nicest. I left with a smile.

Delicious fried dumplings as a starter and we took the fried rice to share. Surprisingly tasty! Definitely try “Vila” softdrink while in Norway

I save one star reviews for rare occasions - and this is one of them. We ordered food and drinks, and as we were waiting, other people who arrived after us got served food before we even got our drinks (note: the restaurant was almost empty). The waitress then noticed we had nothing, but still kept serving the other people first. We finally got our drinks 30min after ordering them. The food came shortly after, and wow... The chop suey came with raw vegetables - including raw potatoes - and the fried pangus with sweet & sour sauce came with just that (see pic), lukewarm sweet & sour sauce, room temp fried pangus and a few strands of salad to make it look more happy. The sauce still had unmelted chewy gelatine pieces in it.

Perched atop the Scandic hotel, Tøtta Bar offers stunning panoramic views of downtown Narvik, its historic harbor, and the surrounding mountains. The pros : excellent view over Narvik, good spot for Northern lights viewing, pleasant staff at the bar. We were also happy to find this place as one of the few restaurants opened in Narvik on 01/01/24 evening. Food, just overpriced Tapas. No service at all. Expecting to realize that there is bar order despite that there is nothing going on. Just bar ladies talking to each other. Dirty table and for 20 min nobody came to clean it up. We left. The bar assistant asked if everything was ok. Strange, by taking no orders. Of course not. Never again and absolutely recommended to be avoided.

If you want to enjoy a drink or a meal accompanied by great views, Tøtta bar on the top floor of Scandic hotel is surely the place to visit. It is not only the tallest building in Narvik, but one of the tallest in the Arctic circle, and affords views of downtown Narvik, its historically significant harbour and the surrounding mountains. As a local I visit mostly for the coffee - which is sadly subpar - and the views - which more than make up for the coffee. The service is friendly, there's free wifi, and the patrons tend to be a mix of hotel guests and locals.

Italian restaurant
Milano Narvik is a popular restaurant located in the heart of Narvik, offering a diverse culinary experience. With its central location on Dronningens gate, it has garnered attention from locals and visitors alike. The restaurant's menu features a range of dishes that cater to different tastes and preferences. Whether you're craving juicy burgers or seeking Middle Eastern flavors, Milano Narvik aims to satisfy your culinary desires.
I was recommended to this place by the receptionist at my hotel. I gotta say the pizzas were really good.coming from Sweden all pizzas are thin crust and most likely hard but the pizza here was top, I didn’t see no Italians in the kitchen but I could swear they made it . Perfect fluffy dough… I don’t wanna get political but these pizzas are made with love unlike Swedes that just settle for “lagom”-like cardboard crust pizzas that aren’t even cut for you. The service was good just a bit slow but the guy was working alone, he was very polite though. The pizza itself was amazing with fresh ingredients and the vitlok sauce was perfect and had the flavor of garlic. I’ve tried this sauce in Sweden and it’s not homemade unlike Milanos sauce.

I have some valuable advice for this restaurant who had very few patrons last night despite the food being decent. First: Train your server better. The first picture was my steak dinner presented to me sauce side first. It looked messy and unappealing. I turned the plate around and it looked fresh and inviting. The server also was incredibly slow even though there was only one other 2 top filled in the place. Next the kitchen. Do not leave the foil on the potato and expect the patron to deal with that. I ordered the steak rare and got medium. The veg was nice and crispy but the entire meal lacked seasoning. The red wine sauce completely lacked flavor and I had to salt and pepper the plate numerous times. Also, the dish lists mushrooms and I received not one mushroom. I think if everyone stepped up their game a bit and fixed the seating that was patched together with black tape, this could be a nice restaurant.

Definitely not Italian! Sticky floor, dirty table, staff don't know what Tiramisu is, nescafe sold as espresso, apple pie from microwave. Don't know what to say... Please stay away.
Josha S — Google review
We arrived to our hotel late evening and we were super hungry. I just quickly found this restaurant from Google maps and reviews were promising. Bad mistake. Scale of the reviews is badly miscalibrated. Service gave mixed feelings, a young girl did her best, but foreign male waitress was lost. The girl had to guide male colleague from hand to hand. We ordered pizza, hamburger and kebab. Pizza was a standard fast food pizzeria, hamburger was less what you can expected from menu hamburger. But! The kebab was the worst kebab ever eaten. Meat was not fresh not real kebab, but frozen kebab chips from a supermarket. The salad was close to nothing. Very big disappointment. Sorry, but I can't recommend this place. There better pizzeria and hamburger kiosks in Narvik.

Groms plass is a poignant memorial dedicated to the brave sailors of the ORP Grom, who lost their lives during the fierce Battle of Narvik on May 4, 1940. Nestled in a small square that reflects the charm of Narvik, this site honors the sacrifice made by these heroes in their fight for Norway's freedom. Although it may be somewhat challenging to locate and shows signs of neglect, visitors can still appreciate its significance.

Arctic Train AS

Railroad company
The Arctic Train, also known as the Ofoten Railway, is a 43km long railway in Norway that runs from Narvik to the Swedish border town of Riksgransen. The train journey offers stunning views of the landscape and takes approximately 2.5 hours. Passengers can enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate while taking in the beautiful scenery. Although there are brief stops along the way for photo opportunities, it's important to note that the train does not turn around.
Excellent train ride stopping a couple of times on route to get out and take photos, making the most of the views. Staff keep you informed of how long the train stays at each stop, and passengers are asked to swap sides for the way back so everyone has the chance of a window seat on the side with the most views. You do need to buy tickets in advance as the train is very popular, especially if cruise ship is in.

Great train journey hugging the edge of the fjord. Recommend sitting on the left hand side of the train.
Lew R — Google review
What a wonderful experience, from start to finish! Our lovely ticket seller was so helpful and accommodating! The scenery was spectacular. We were given adequate time at each stop for plenty of photo ops. Highly recommend!!!
Elaine C — Google review
Do not recommend. Positives - The train itself was comfortable, Wi-Fi functioned well, and the staff was very good. Negatives - The "stunning" mountain views on the right side of the train were anything but stunning; trees and tunnels obscured most vistas. The fjord views on the left side of the train were good in spots, but again often obscured by tunnels, trees, and power lines. The photo stops on the ride up to the top were crowded, and we were rushed back onto the train at each one. Even the destination at the top lasted only 10 min and offered little. If you want a truly beautiful train ride, go to Flåm and don't waste your time on this one.
Fred G — Google review
We was on Ms Trollfjord and booked this trip. On entering the train right side the best side is left side for the best views. On the return journey they ask people to swap seats so everyone had good view. Toilet on board and coffee machine and a lovely cinnamon bun 😋
Rosemary W — Google review
Brilliant experience and the scenic views were awesome.
Lee F — Google review
Wonderful train ride as if you were touching the sky once you are at the top or final destination. Wonderful service but you have to sit on the left hand side to see all the highlights. Or when they ask you to switch rows it has to be during the daylight so that everybody can see the same.
Olaf K — Google review
Wonderful, BUT you have to know that you have to seat on the left side when going up. Seats get switched on the way down, but if it gets late, it will be dark, so there's nothing to see. As a matter of fairness, people should be informed before they ride on the train. Staff is great.

The Hiroshima Stone in Narvik is a poignant memorial that serves as a powerful reminder of the devastating impact of nuclear weapons. The stone's presence in Narvik, far from its origin, underscores the global importance of promoting peace and disarmament. Its simple yet evocative design prompts contemplation and reflection on the tragic events of Hiroshima and the urgent need for a world free from nuclear threats. A visit to this memorial provides a somber opportunity to honor the past while advocating for a peaceful future.

My husband, who has learned Japanese but wasn't with me on this trip, translated the Japanese inscription for me, and lo and behold, it says more than the Norwegian version: "This stone comes from inside the atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima." The Norwegian version reads: "Never again Hiroshima. Never again Nagasaki." I didn't find an explanatory plaque in English; perhaps I overlooked it. Highly recommended to dine at this restaurant. We were looking forward for some whale steak but was disappointed they do not serve this dish anymore. But the restaurant did not disappoint in other dish served We had Crispy Skin Artic Char and Pan Fried Halibut with beer. Priced - reasonable Food - awesome Beer - smooth Atmosphere - cozy

Fresh and delicious fish dishes. We had halibut and arctic salmon. They were cooked perfectly. Perfect with a beer. Staffs were friendly and helpful. She also gave a great suggestion of the dishes. Price was cheaper than Tromso for the same meal. It’s Norway, eat out is not cheap😂

This restaurant is amazing! Delicious food, only fresh fishes to chose from. The Pan Fried Halibut and the Crispy Skin Arctic Char were each mouth-watering and super tasty. Moreover, the staff was very nice and welcoming. We’ve been here twice during our short stay in Narvik, but would come back anytime to taste other dishes as well! I can highly recommend❣️

Went as a family at around 5:15 on a Wednesday. Had to queue for a bit but it was worth it. Fantastic fish with good beer. I had the boknafish and cured whale. HelBel had the smoked cod and Alex the shrimps (which we were lucky to finish, best I've had!). Lovely staff too. Loving Narvik already.

Absolutely amazing! Everything we tried was super fresh and tasty! The crispy skin Arctic Char was probably the best fish dish I had in my life! The service was friendly and kind! If you want some amazing fresh seafood and great service, this is the place! Highly recommended!
Fabiana P — Google review
We tried three dishes in the menu: boknafish, pan fried halibut, whale burger. The Whale burger was supposedly meant to be a “small dish”. However, it was a normal portion size - except it comes without fries which have to be purchased separately. We haven’t been told by the waiter that the pan fried halibut contains fish bones. The individual ingredients in the dishes tasted good but were mildly flavoured. When added all together, they made the dish bland. The portion sizes of the main courses were disappointing and should be switched with the small dishes. I would recommend coming here to try the seafood. I can definitely see the dishes appealing to some people - however to me it was nothing special. I personally most enjoyed the whale burger .
Niki P — Google review
We had a fantastic lunch at Fiskekroken in Narvik. The restaurant features an on-site fish market, ensuring that all seafood is exceptionally fresh. We ordered the Røkt Torsk (smoked cod with bacon), the Grillet Boknafisk, the Mussel Casserole, the Shrimp Plate, and the Crispy Skin Arctic Char. Everything was absolutely delicious! While the shrimp and mussels were smaller than those typically found in Spain, they were accompanied by a delicious sauce that complemented them perfectly. The fish dishes were cooked to perfection, each paired with sauces that enhanced their flavors beautifully. The combination of fresh seafood, skilled preparation, and delightful sauces made our meal at Fiskekroken a memorable experience. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Narvik who wishes to enjoy high-quality, traditional Norwegian seafood

Arilds Grillbar is a cozy, "old school" style hamburger restaurant that offers big and tasty burgers with generous portions. The customer service is excellent and the staff are polite and efficient. The bacon cheeseburger is highly recommended, as well as the fantastic milkshakes. The fries are cooked to perfection with multiple seasonings available. Despite being a quick bite place, the food quality is impressive and worth the money.
On my last night (4th) I had dinner at this venue. Norway as a lot of hamburger joints but this one is different because it reminds me of an American style eatery. My burger was huge with fries and a drink for less than 400 nok.

My friends and I went in here to get some dinner just craving fast food after a long day. When we arrived we were the only people in the store but the retro looking interior and hunger brought us in. The staff was very helpful helping us to choose the right type of menu. My friends had burgers and I had a calzone and the portions were quite big and the food was good. We stayed for a while just chatting and the place filled up. It was a nice evening.

I ate a raw pizza after waiting 2 hours, the pizza was brought without a plate in a straw basket, without knives and forks and napkins, very dirty place, where there were napkins there were full of flies, one who worked out was working out inside the place, the drinks were hot, to cool them down they put them on the window. I strongly advise against it, in addition after 2 hours of waiting for the pizza, they kicked us out because they had to close, but they didn't have to close, the boy had to work out inside the place and we were a nuisance. terrible place and dirty

I am so grateful! Thank you! This is a wonderful place where you can buy exceptional fish. The Skrei was absolutely amazing! Even though, as a beginner, I asked for just 300 grams of Atlantic cod—requiring the whole fillet to be cut—the incredibly kind vendor happily fulfilled my request and made my wish come true. I promise that next time, I’ll buy the entire fillet! Such kind and understanding people. Thank you!

Food was lovely. The restaurant was recommended to us at a hotel. It was just the two of us so we took a punt and got in as a walk-in but larger groups were being turned away so probably best to book. The fish was exceptional although the cured whale tastes like bacon 🤷‍♂️The restaurant also shuts early and is not open on Sunday and Monday. Staff were excellent (especially tattoo guy). Outstanding little fishmarket with a decent selection of fresh fish and kind and helpful service. This place also makes delicious fishcakes and fishburgers which you can buy to take away. Fishcakes are packed with flavour and fishburgers are substantial. They don’t make them on Saturdays but make sure you try these.

We had the fish and chips. The fish was really tasty. Bare in mind that some items on the menu might be sold out because of the season or fishing situation. I had to try the dessert because it’s homemade and sounded good, but I wouldn’t go for the cream cheese with rasberry, crumble and ice cream if they have it. The cream cheese had a side taste of powder/flour, even though the rest was fresh. It is a fish restaurant anyways so I should have known better!
