Nature & Wildlife Areas
Hertfordshire Zoo, formerly known as Paradise Wildlife Park, is a popular family destination with over 400 animals and various attractions such as a soft play area and petting zoo. The park is committed to conservation and education, conducting vital projects both locally and globally. Visitors can book unique animal experiences, including feeding big cats or interacting with exotic species. Situated in the expansive Broxbourne Woods, the zoo offers over 30 different pre-booked animal encounters.
Another great day out, there was plenty to see and do. All the animals looked well cared for and fed. It was amazing how close you felt you were to some of animals. Including the lions and the sun bear. The glass so clean it was like it wasn't there. The shops were responsibly priced and depending on your budget they had plenty to choose from. The food was nice and was a generous portion. Overall we had an amazing day would I would happily return.
Asslinn A — Google review
The road to the zoo is a bit narrow and winding, and driving with the steering wheel on the opposite side made it even more unusual. This is a truly small family-oriented zoo with an interesting selection of animals. Everything was clean and well maintained, and we enjoyed the visit. I was especially excited to see capybaras and meerkats. Personally, it was also fascinating to observe the visitors — many families with two or more children. The food was decent, but because of the strong wind and too many wasps outside, the experience was mixed. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a day with family.
DNK — Google review
Visited for my daughter’s birthday and it was great all round. The entire place is very well designed and in good condition. We tried food at a few of the outlets and all were good quality tasting food - not amazing but not the typical greasy nonsense you get. It’s good that you can walk around each area multiple times and in different directions so you really feel like you get the most out of your ticket. Price wise was good, about average and like I said there is plenty to do when inside. All the animals we saw looked happy, no concerns there.
Ryan P — Google review
A brilliant zoo, I would say one of the best we have visited. It was busy but we didn't feel it, its nicely spread out so you never feel crowded, it was also very clean and tidy. The staff were fantastic, even when doing something they were happy to answer questions on animals, they were all happy, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. The animals all seemed happy and healthy with a lovely variety. As with all zoos it would be nice to see them with more space. The food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Nice to have the mix of animals, the dino trail and parks too. It is 3.5hours away from us but worth every minute in the car. Would 100% recommend
G. G — Google review
Great zoo, loved the red panda experience, keeper was very friendly and informative in answering any questions I had. Loved getting to see the two red pandas being introduced to each other. Got good views of the animals, some of the viewing windows were quite wet with condensation which blocked views but not much to be done about that. Lots of kids so was quite noisy but think I came in the school holidays. Only negative was one of the jaguars was pacing around a lot in its enclosure, hopefully it was just waiting for food or something like that and not stressed. Got Uber easily to/from the train station. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Erin — Google review
A really good day out. I went with my sister and my two teenagers and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day. The theming, informative signs, viewing areas/platforms and eateries were very good. Of course the wonderful animals were the highlight and I can recommend attending the bird show! At the end of the day we even had a train ride around the dinosaur area for £2 each, which ended the day nicely.
Natalie M — Google review
A family favourite. My son was two when we went and he loved the dinosaurs section even though I was worried he was too young, there are some bits that are slightly gruesomely but you can quickly go past them. It’s good fun and you can then go to the zoo and look at the animals. It’s very well organised and clean. Limited option for food and as with any of these venues, it’s overpriced for the quality you get.
Tina S — Google review
Hertfordshire Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination with a great variety of animals and interactive zones. The enclosures are well maintained , highlights include the lions, camels, and alpacas, all easy to view up close. The “World of Animals” and “Tumble Jungle” soft play area add extra fun for kids, with clearly scheduled play sessions. The zoo is clean, well signposted, and offers a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day out for families with young children!

Broxbourne Woods, located in Hertfordshire, offers a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts and art lovers alike. Visitors can explore the 14.5 km Broxbourne Woods Nature Trail, which passes through Wormley Woods, Cowheath Wood, and Hoddesdonpark Wood.
One absolutely gorgeous location. My children and I absolutely love the walks through these woods. If driving late in the afternoon might not find parking space on a weekend. The scenery is simply beautiful. ♥️

Wormley Woods - Beautiful spacious woods, pathways, and signage dotted throughout but keeping its natural feel and no litter 😍

Beautiful walk, quiet, however the only draw back is the car parks are not very big and can be hassle to park if busy but we'll worth a walk with sign posted trails so you don't get lost. Highly recommend. *****

Went with 2 friends for a walk which was lovely. I’ve never seen so many mushrooms most of them poisonous but really beautiful. In some parts you feel like your in another country it’s lovely. I definitely would go again, if I can to escape people and pretend I live in a tepee for a afternoon.
Cara — Google review
First time visit on 3 Jan. Enjoyed walking through the woods. You can stick to the main tracks or take alternatives to go down deeper or climb higher. Seems a great place to take your dog for a walk too. Free parking available.
Andi F — Google review
I am fortunate that Broxbourne Woods are on my doorstep it is a wonderful location, for walking, horse riding and the odd cycle ride. A large part of the wood is a managed forest however in recent years there has been some devastation wrought by heavy machines removing trees alongside charming dells on a couple of the streams, but they are now recovering fairly well even so some of the older trails have been obliterated. However, much is still wonderful, Ermine Street passes through the woods northwards to Hertford town and is fairly well used by local riding stables.

Wonderful nature reserve with many trails to explore as well as simple circuit walks. A wood carving sculpture trail will give children amusement as well as den building

Cedars Park

Park
Cedars Park is a charming destination in Hertfordshire, featuring picturesque gardens, ponds, and walking trails set within the grounds of a 16th-century royal property. It's an ideal spot for families with young children, offering flat paved tracks perfect for little ones learning to ride bikes. The park also boasts an excellent cafe and a delightful nature center where kids can interact with animals like skunks.
Cedars Park, located near Theobalds in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, is a historic and scenic park that spans the grounds of what was once Theobalds Palace, a royal residence in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, Cedars Park serves as a beautiful public space, featuring landscaped gardens, woodlands, ponds, and historical ruins. The park is a popular destination for family outings, walks, picnics, and educational visits. Key features of Cedars Park include: • Historical Remains: The ruins and remnants of Theobalds Palace, which offer a glimpse into the area’s rich history. • Gardens and Green Spaces: Well-maintained flowerbeds, open lawns, and mature trees create a peaceful environment. • Wildlife and Pond Area: The park is home to various bird species and a small pond that adds to the natural charm. • Play Areas: Cedars Park includes a playground and areas for children to enjoy, making it family-friendly. • Cafe and Visitor Facilities: There is often a small cafe where visitors can relax, and other facilities include picnic areas and restrooms. Cedars Park combines natural beauty with historical significance, offering a lovely space for both recreation and learning about local heritage. If you’re interested in the park’s events, guided tours, or facilities, the local council or the Friends of Cedars Park often provide updates and resources. Although it looks like a small forest with trees but it is a very beautiful place with all the facilities to travel. Small children can play freely. A perfect place to relax the mind.

A lovely local park.great for families! We often visit Cedar Park with the kid for playtime, and they always have a great time on the playground. Recently, we joined the Easter trail there, and it was such a fun and well-organized activity for children. It’s a clean, safe, and friendly place to spend time outdoors. Definitely recommend for a family visit!

Really lovely place to have a walk and a coffee, really well kept and a lot to look at. Would be a great place for just a walk around or a picnic. They have a café, the pieces aren't too bad and they also have an animal center which is great for anyone with or without kids to visit. Overall, it was a really calm and peaceful walk. A lot of history dotted around the park which is nice if you're into your history or just curious on what that old bit of building is.
Bradley P — Google review
Beautiful park with historical ruins and centenary trees. It also has cafe/pizzeria, public toilets, a maze, a pond and a bird zoo. Kids will love cycling around and there's lots of space for picnics.
DDBB — Google review
Great historical park and nature walk. Fantastic models of the 1600 century buildings and discriptions of the ruins. Great place to walk with family, friends and dogs. Cafe and toilets are clean. Places to sit. Wonderful maze and circular mound to discover. Really enjoyed the location. Easy to get to by car or train. Will definitely come again.
Sharon S — Google review
Lovely, tranquil setting. Parking was free, which was a bonus. We visited on a weekday, so it wasn't busy at all.Entrance was also free.
Sachith N — Google review
Lovely historic park with lots to see and learn about in the park. Free parking available in park. Good paths for pushchairs and wheelchair users. The park has a lot of ruin historical buildings with information boards about the historical context to park, ruins and different park spaces. The park has lots of different section to walk and enjoy. The children enjoyed reading about all the history the park has and reading the memorial plaques on the various park benches. The maze was great and the children really enjoying wondering inside the maze. Highlight for the garden was the astro hill and trying to get to the top only with your socks on. The spent over an hour playing on this hill. A must try for everyone young and old. Park was very clean and well maintain. Dog users in park were very sensible with dogs and we felt safe wondering all parts of the park. There is a cafe in the middle section of the park near the historic wall plaque with famous people from history selling hot and cold food and drinks with lots of seating areas. A lovely park where history only a walk in the park.

“Lee Valley Park is a beautiful, well-maintained escape from the city and I loved seeing swans gliding across the lake. The nature reserve area is especially peaceful and rich in wildlife." The wildlife, open spaces, and scenic trails make it perfect for a relaxing day. Great for families and solo nature walks. Highly recommended!”
Ferdinand T — Google review
Between the hum of London life and the hush of hidden waters, I found myself in Lea Valley — a ribbon of green unraveling gently, where rivers speak in silver tongues and trees bow like wise elders keeping watch. The air carried both wildness and calm, dragonflies stitching light across the water, swans gliding like soft prayers, and pathways that seemed to whisper: “walk further, breathe deeper.” It was not just a park, but a pause. A place where time loosened its grip, where each step felt like a return — to something older, quieter, freer. Lea Valley reminded me that even in a world that rushes and demands, there remain sanctuaries where nature remembers us by name.

Lovely park with lots of points of interest for young children. Docked a star for parking issues. Parked in mid- car park down a winding dirt track. Local building work made it hard to tell if it was the right road or not. Once parked up, no pay machines, only by phone or online. Would've been fine if we had good signal, as it is, failed to pay online 3x before it was successful. Took 15mins! No facilities we could find in the park, but once we crossed the railway tracks, a small high street next to train station had a few cafes and a pub and a small Tesco. Kids (4 & 7) enjoyed it.

Lovely place to spend a few hours. Especially when the sun is out.Lots of places to explore, such as the veg garden and the greenhouses full of fabulous exotic plants. Coffee shop is nice too and there's a really nice outdoor seating area. It's also very informative. For example, I'd never seen Japanese knott weed before and they have a patch there 'for educational purposes'. Highly recommend.

The Woodman & Olive is a trendy establishment that combines traditional and contemporary design elements. It offers a menu influenced by Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Patrons frequently visit this stylish venue since its recent management change, and plan to continue doing so in the future. The food is exceptional, presenting an upscale dining experience within a cozy atmosphere that accommodates both formal attire and casual attire. Families are welcome, making it suitable for individuals with or without children.
My friends and I had a wonderful evening here. The atmosphere was lively, comfortable with a nice homely feel. Loved the decor and the playlist of so many familiar dance tune in the background. Had us dancing in our seats. Not surprising it was full when we arrived, (much earlier than our reservation time). We had drinks at the bar while we waited and were soon seated. The food was tasty and every mouthful was worth the long journey we made to get here. A big thank you to the owner, Maria, and her wonderful staff for being so attentive, warm & friendly. I can see why it's such a popular destination for people. I'm definitely coming back!

Nestled in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no phone signal when you get there 🤪 is this absolute gem. This was our first time but thought we would give it a try to celebrate our daughters engagement and we were all so glad we did. The service was extremely friendly and helpful from the moment we entered. The pub itself is very old and full of charm and the food was exceptional. Every dish was freshly made by the wonderful chef and the menu was also very unique with a mix of classic English dishes, mixed in with some amazing Greek food. We will definitely be back to try everything else they offer but if you're scared of the woods, then don't come at night 🤣

If you’re looking for a fantastic pub experience around woods, this spot is a must-visit! We recently enjoyed a Sunday roast here after a nice walk in the woods around, and it was absolutely delicious—tender meat, perfectly cooked vegetables, and rich gravy, all served piping hot. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff making sure we had everything we needed, and always with a smile. One of the best parts is the lovely outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying a meal in the fresh air. There’s ample parking, which made getting in and out a breeze. For families, this pub is a dream—there’s a great playground area and even a bouncy castle for the little ones to enjoy! It’s such a great family-friendly atmosphere. If you’re planning a party or gathering, this place also offers plenty of space for larger groups, making it an ideal spot to host an event. Highly recommend it for the delicious food, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for a day out with family or friends!

I had the pleasure of visiting The Woodman and Olive restaurant yesterday, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was the chef’s special Chicken Box, and it was simply delicious! The chicken was perfectly crispy, tender on the inside, and topped with just the right amount of sauce, which added a wonderful blend of flavors. The fries were well-seasoned and complemented the chicken nicely. Garnished with fresh herbs and jalapeños, the dish had a touch of freshness and spice that made every bite satisfying. The presentation was also impressive—everything looked vibrant and appetizing. The service was great too. The staff was attentive, and the atmosphere had a cozy yet trendy vibe, perfect for both a casual meal or a night out. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend trying out The Woodman and Olive’s chef specials. You won’t be disappointed!

Cinnamon Lounge in Waltham Cross has been a beloved dining spot for families for over 25 years, making it a go-to place for special celebrations. Diners rave about the consistently delicious food and the attentive service provided by the staff. While there may be occasional delays due to high demand for takeout, guests appreciate the owner's commitment to customer satisfaction, often receiving apologies and complimentary drinks during waits. Many patrons enjoy using delivery services like Just Eat, noting that meals arrive hot and promptly.

My whole family have been using this restaurant for over 25 years, we eat in, we have celebrated special occasions there, the food is always delicious, and I’m sure that any problems you were to encounter, the owner would be horrified, and eager to rectify. Occasionally service is slow, because they have a lot of takeout meals, but you will always get an apology, and offered a complimentary drink. Highly recommended.

I came here with the other half to celebrate our anniversary. I called and for once booked a table in advance. Arrived and was seated straight away. Food arrived quickly and was delicious… typical Indian food. The reason I have given it a three was the service. The waiter practically kept throwing the food on our table and was really miserable. My partner tried to joke with him and make him smile about the dessert… not even a glimmer of the pearly whites. The service was so poor that I wondered if that was the reason why the bill arrived with no service charge on it. I then thought if I gave him a couple of quid service charge I might get a smile or a thank you but alas no such luck, he was as miserable as a 90 year old virgin! Would I go again- no, only because I thrive on excellent service and there are a lot more restaurants near by to try.

Lee Valley White Water Centre is an absolutely fantastic destination for water adventure lovers! We went for white water rafting, and the experience was thrilling from start to finish. The staff are well-trained, friendly, and make sure everyone stays safe while having fun. They also offer great membership options for regular users – perfect if you’re planning to go often. We noticed some excellent offers for families and friends, making it more affordable to enjoy as a group. It’s also a brilliant place to celebrate birthday parties, especially for teens or adults who love an adrenaline rush. The facilities are clean, well-organised, and there’s even a nice café on-site for relaxing after your adventure. Highly recommended for a fun-filled and energetic day out! 💦🚣‍♂️

Jordan was great. Parking easy. Open gendered changing rooms with showers. Also had a mirror and hairdryer which was nice. Lockers were easy to use. Had a group of 9 for the whole raft, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, one person at the helm doesn’t paddle. This position can rotate between within your group, which might be a good thing, so you can take a break because this was a tiring activity for sure. Great fun though!

This sports venue is truly delightful. It’s such a pleasure to watch the determination of those battling the powerful water and waves, whether in team boats or individual kayaks. I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere here, and I try to visit once or twice a week. The café adds to the charm—coffee on cold days and beer on warm ones. Altogether, it’s an outstanding place with an incredible vibe

Fantastic place to practice your open water and white water rafting skills there is an equipment hire area on site so you dont need to bring your own gear, ample parking the largest car park is just 100 yards from the entrance. Staff are super friendly, there is a cafe on site too with inside or outside (on balcony) seating. The road leading to the place is only a normal 30 mph road and it gets busy quickly so try and give yourself plenty of time to get there.

The Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey is a historic site with a rich legacy in the manufacturing of explosives and gunpowder. Dating back to the 1660s, this former gunpowder factory has evolved over 300 years, playing significant roles during World War 2 and the Cold War. Visitors can explore 20 listed buildings and learn about its industrial past through science demonstrations, tractor tours, and an armory.
One of the best trips I've done with a class. Superb talk and workshop with Isabella and the team. Our students loved it! Thanks to the generous volunteer train drivers who ket the boys sit in the cabin.

I’ve just been on the Royal Gunpowder Mills walking tour. What a great experience. The history at Waltham Abbey is fascinating, and was brought to life by the knowledgeable volunteers/guides. We were a small group of 8, so plenty of opportunities to ask as many questions as we liked. The tour allowed access to many of the buildings and structures that you only see from afar on the tractor tour. For anyone with an interest in military history, explosives, or industrial architecture l’d highly recommend this tour. Many thanks to the guides for giving us their time.

Fantastic day at the Gunpowder Mills. Greeted before entry by welcoming volunteers. The site is huge with attractions and information. We made a rocket and launched it which was fun. The tractor was great with a very informative guide. The volunteer who gave us the talk in the rocket vault was exceptionally good. We went on the miniature train and the bigger train where we saw more of the site. There is so much to see and do here. Our visit was four hours and worth every penny of the entrance fee. Looking forward to booking a walking tour when they are organised.

I had been recommended the Royal Gunpowder Mills by a friend, and with the kids now a slightly bit older we decided it would be worth a try. It's only open to visitors a couple of times a month on a Sunday, and on our visit from 11am to 4pm. We got there at 11am as it opened, there is a big sign as you come off the main road, but the site is located at the end of the drive once you have driven past all the housing. Car park is a fair size, and the entrance is located to the right once you have got into the car park. Once you have gone in, it's probably worth getting yourself booked on to the tractor ride. It leaves at specific times. We went straight towards the miniature railway which took us up the site to the gunpowder mill railway. Again, there are some set timings for this, but when we got there we pretty much had the train to ourselves. The railway takes passengers for a ride further up the site, stops and then comes back again. We managed to see the deer as well as bits of the site. The guys running the railway did a fab job at showing us all about the railway, and even let the young 'uns sit in the main cab. The tractor ride was incredibly informative and really gave a good idea of how big the place truly is (massive!) and how much history is here (loads!) Again you get to see the deer, and lots of the old buildings - lots of areas are covered in greenery where nature has taken over. The kids were also given a sheet of things to look out for on the journey. At lunch we popped back to the car to get our picnic and sat at the benches next to the play area (obstacle course / zip line). There is an area where you can get a free tea / coffee - as well as toilets if required. Post lunch, we went to create some rockets and had a little competition to see who's rocket could go the furthest - kids enjoyed this! (Well, the adults did too!) After the rockets, we went to look around the exhibition and armoury. Lots to read here, and kids did do a few little interactive games (mixing the substances at the factory etc.) but they weren't quite so keen to stand and read! The armoury was literally a room full of different guns, rifles etc. When we came out of the exhibition, we just had time to have another trip on the railway. The volunteers were great and radio'd up to ensure we would catch it on time! Once our second trip on the railway was finished it was closing time... we had been there all day! We thought the dedication and hard work by the volunteers was great - we even thought about volunteering ourselves, but it's a bit of a journey away! (Although if they ever do a family volunteering day where the kids can get involved, we would certainly consider it!!)

If you want to learn about the history of gunpowder and explosives, The Royal Gunpowder Mills provides a fascinating day out. In many respects, this is the place where it all started. Our tractor guide was quite knowledgeable and provided interesting insight. The Mills is run completely by volunteers. As the MOD has been involved in siphoning off material, it's too bad the MOD doesn't promote it as the volunteers care dearly and they can use some help.

I visited with my two children and another family, on an open day during the summer holidays. There were varied activities for the kids (rocket making/launching, tie dying, slime making and nature crafts) as well as the train that runs further up along the grounds. It was a really nice day out without the extensive crowds that you often find with children’s activities in the holidays! When booking the tickets I noticed that numbers were capped quite low so I can’t imagine it would ever be uncomfortably busy. Having a mixture of fun activities for children alongside the educational side of the small museum and exhibitions was a good balance. They particularly enjoyed role playing in the village shop with ration books! I would say the open day activities etc are probably most suited for children under 10 (which all of ours were). We also saw some beautiful deer and the children enjoyed the playground as well. Everything was staffed by volunteers (I think) giving up their time to run it. Drinks and snacks in the cafe were very well priced - i bought ice lollies for 5 children for barely more than the price you’d pay for one at an ice cream van!! We brought a packed lunch with us as suggested on the website - I don’t think there is much in the way of food other than snacks available in the cafe. All in all a nice day out, something a bit different and easy to drive to and park.

A great place to learn a little history. With a bonus tractor and train ride.
Brenden W — Google review
I took the walking tour today. Absolutely brilliant experience! We started in the cafe with a tea/coffee before heading out in a small group with the volunteers. They really knew so much about the site and were so passionate about its history that it was a real pleasure to listen to. Look out for the wildlife too- we saw lots of deer around!

Waltham Abbey Gardens offers a serene setting with free access to the gardens and ruins, along with detailed interpretation panels. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as strolling around the duckpond, crossing wooden bridges, exploring crypts, or simply relaxing on benches overlooking the meadow. The Rose Gardens are particularly delightful in summer, providing a tranquil space for unwinding. Additionally, there is a self-guided circular walk spanning approximately 3 miles (4.
Peaceful and well maintained gardens to the Abbey. Popular with dog walkers! Could do with some litter bins for general waste as you’ll often see rubbish left around. Plenty of car parking but beware, you’ll need to pay.

Free to visit these monastic ruins and gatehouse. Nice walking paths interspersed with medieval abbey ruins and interesting signs providing some history - very nice. Also has a lovely rose garden area, and some benches throughout. Car park was decent, though the physical machine wasn’t working so had to faff with downloading their app to pay. Prices ok for English car park.

We had a nice but brief walk around the Abbey and gardens. There is a lot of interesting history surrounding the Abbey, which you can read about as you walk. We will definitely visit again in the summer to take a longer walk.

Green and peaceful oasis in the middle of town. Car park very reasonable - £1 for 1 hr and £2 for 24 hrs. In summer rose garden must be beautiful, but even in winter dullness was refreshing to walk around and enjoy greenery and wildlife.

River Lee Country Park

Country park
River Lee Country Park, located in the vicinity of Waltham Abbey, is a perfect destination for nature enthusiasts and families. The park offers a variety of activities such as walking, cycling, and horse riding amidst its picturesque surroundings. Visitors can explore the diverse wildlife including birds and otters while enjoying leisurely strolls along well-maintained pathways. Additionally, families can visit Lee Valley Park Farms to learn about animals or take a tractor and trailer ride.
River Lee Country Park in Cheshunt is a tranquil haven for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Spanning over 100+ acres, the park offers a diverse range of landscapes, from lush woodlands and open meadows to serene lakes and marshes. It's an ideal spot for walking, cycling, and birdwatching, with well-maintained paths and plenty of wildlife to observe. One of the park's standout features is its network of waterways, which adds to its charm and provides opportunities for activities like fishing and kayaking. The park is also dotted with picnic areas, making it perfect for family outings. The park's accessibility is another plus. It's easily reachable by public transport, with Cheshunt Station nearby, and has ample parking for those arriving by car. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with its natural beauty, makes River Lee Country Park a fantastic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, some areas could benefit from more signage, as it can be easy to get a little lost, especially for first-time visitors. Despite this minor issue, the park's vastness and variety offer something for everyone, whether you're seeking a quiet spot to relax or an active day out exploring nature.

This park was very beautiful. I have been visiting here many times over the past years. On 9/9/2024, I found the best part between Hooks Marsh Car Park and Fishers Green Car Park to become the wost part! The plants have been left to overgrow and cover nearly everywhere! All those beautiful views of the past are no longer there. The rest of the park is not that bad. The park is very big with many lakes, waterways, footpaths and boathouses. However, there's only one public toilet at Fishers Green Car Park. This car park is monitored by many cameras. If you don't pay for your parking, you'll get a PCN! There are many towers carrying high power electric cables in the top half of the park.
Abdullah Y — Google review
Absolutely love walking around, perfect for dogs, children and a casual stroll. Definitely worth the travel.
Rebecca E — Google review
The perfect balance of human elements like solid walkways, benches and signposts and the rest of it is just the natural land. Whether you want to just get the steps on and take a relaxed stroll amongst the trees and greenery, or a wildlife enthusiast looking to see all the local life or looking to make a round trip visiting the different wooden sculptures and set pieces such as the giant chair, then the country park should advisory be your destination. There are facilities of different kinds for around but other than that you can just embrace the fresh air and natural surroundings.

My sister and I came here for a roam around nature. It is very nice here and the water is serene and it is calm and peaceful. I wish I had a wire haired fox terrier crossed with a Jack Russell to walk alongside me. I would bring him here every day. I am now inspired to live on a boat on the canal.

This is a wonderful park just north of the M25 that offers miles of paths, numerous lakes and a sense of tranquility. It's big enough to give everyone enough space and it's dead flat, with hard paths, so it's accessible by all. A great place to get away from the world.

Stayed in The Country Lodge at Dobbs Weir. Lovely large Lodge with every amenity in it. Lots of kitchen utensils, washing machine, fridge freezer, large decking area and hot tub. Not overlooked by anyone and a lovely view down to the river. All enclosed so safe enough. Beds are comfy, good showers in ensuite and bathroom. Would definitely return here. Went into London via the train nearby which only took about 30 minutes. Wine, chocolates and tea, coffee and sugar left which was lovely.

A wedding was recently held at Broxbourne Golf Complex and the venue, along with its staff, received high praise. The person responsible for wedding planning, Rochelle, was exceptional in her role. The location of the venue is beautiful and just the right size to create a comfortable atmosphere where guests can both spread out and feel close together. The prices offered by Broxbourne Golf Complex are fair and transparent.
First time here, made to feel welcome and shown where to tee off, by staff friendly member. and going to be a regular. Tried Footgolf for the first time, with my two sons, both grown men 😆 Even though I lost, brilliant 9 hole course, running next to the 9 hole golf course, different coloured flags and holes, obviously. Lovely setting, range of difficulties on each hole. Really nice clubhouse and facilities, didn't try food, but had a pint of lager each, outside in the seating area, which may I had was brought out to us by a professional and friendly member of staff. Easy parking, wheelchair accessible. Will update, review on next visit. Highly recommend.

We got married at Broxbourne Golf Complex at the beginning of June this year and what a day we had! Rochelle, Joe and Sarah were all so amazing with helping to plan the wedding and nothing was a problem for them! Even last minute decisions we made was no trouble. This venue is such a wonderful family run business and we are so glad we found it! Our wedding day was perfect! We had our ceremony under the oak tree and had our reception in the marquee. The bbq food was amazing and so many of our guests complimented on it. We were even more lucky with the gorgeous weather we had. ☀️ We couldn’t recommend this wedding venue enough! Thank you again!! We had our wedding here a few weeks ago and I cannot praise the venue and all of its staff enough! Rochelle is AMAZING at what she does, she made planning a wedding a total breeze. The setting is just stunning and it was the perfect size for a wedding where people had enough space to spread out but close enough together for a great atmosphere. Their prices are transparent and fair, and the effort, care and attention that that goes into making this family run business a success is evident in all they do. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

This stylish Turkish restaurant boasts a beautifully decorated ambiance, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. Guests rave about the flavorful dishes, particularly the perfectly cooked meats and enticing seafood options. The attentive staff, especially Ness, adds to the warm atmosphere with their friendly service and genuine smiles.
Manto’s was recommended by a friend and first dined there around six months ago. We’ve returned several times with different members of our family and we’ve never been disappointed. The service is friendly and the food excellent, whether it’s the chicken liver starter, pasta or kebab. Highly recommended.

Went for bottomless brunch. Food was amazing if you had the Prosecco brunch your glass was always topped up. However the £25 upgrade for cocktails wasn’t worth it took far too long to get a drink to get value for money. Our waitress was wonderful very attentive and the entertainment was good. Definitely would go back.

Hi, it was my first time here and unfortunately, I wasn’t very happy with the overall experience. The staff didn’t seem very welcoming, and it felt like they were working without much interest or care. We asked for our meat to be cooked medium, but it came out almost raw, which was quite disappointing. On the other hand, the portion sizes were generous, and the meat quality was actually good. The prices were also reasonable. The place has a lovely view and nice decoration, which we appreciated. However, despite these positives, the service and how the food was prepared made it hard to fully enjoy our visit. I hope they can improve.

The restaurant serves Indian cuisine and is known for its delicious takeaway options. Customers have praised the tender meat, mouthwatering spices, and friendly service. Whether dining in or ordering takeout, patrons have consistently enjoyed the high-quality food and great service at Cumin Bar & Restaurant.
I was very skeptical ordering any Indian in Hertfordshire as I've lived here for 6 years and that has only been mediocre places as far as I'm concerned. So much so that I will drive to Curry Leaf in Whetstone just for an Indian. However, when I opened the curry I was immediately impressed as I knew the colour and consistency of it was fantastic. The flavour, spice and complex taste really surprised me. Please keep the quality high!

Lovely Indian, went here for a friends 40th birthday and they was very accommodating, there was a large group of us, approx. 25 people, most the food come out together, the only criticism, should have brought out what people ordered as a whole meal, rather some of one and then people where left waiting on their rice, so couldn't eat the rest of the meal, while it sat there going cold. Other than that, they done well given the party size and the food was full of flavour.

Pub
The Bulls Head is a historic pub and restaurant with a charming ambiance, featuring rustic wooden beams, an open fire, and a beer garden. Dating back to 1845, it has undergone extensive refurbishment in recent years. The establishment offers quick food options typical of the McMullens chain and boasts a well-decorated interior. The outdoor area is thoughtfully arranged to comply with current COVID regulations. Visitors can conveniently order food and drinks via an app for table service.
If you’re planning a visit for the Sunday roast make sure you arrive hungry because the portions are HUGE!! We all had the famous ginormous yorkie & was pleasantly surprised that even though it’s triple the size of a normal yorkie, they’re still floofy & not soggy at all. Everything tasted incredible too & they really don’t scrimp on the cuts of meat either. Make sure you save room for desert too, because the sundaes were also insanely tasty. 10000% our new go to place for roast dinners, because nowhere else can compare to this now.

A group of us came here for an impromptu visit after a groomsmen suit fitting in London. I have never been here before but have passed it many times when visiting my grandparents who used to live around the corner. All food and drink was ordered through the McMullens app which was good! It was nice and easy to use and navigate and had options to pay by card and Google Pay. I didn't have to create an account either! I went for The Mixed Grill and upgraded to chicken gravy scratching loaded fries with a side of onion rings, and to be honest it was absolutely banging! I didn't eat the tomato or peas though as I don't do either of them, but I couldn't see an option to remove them whilst ordering. The service was really good from a red haired girl who was very polite, and another gent who explained to us about the massive Yorkshire Pud challenge thing they have going on there. Amazing work from them two. Another chap was quite confrontational to one person in our group regarding an incorrect drinks order and went on to explain how he'd worked there for however many years and how he knew how to do his job etc. Now I understand sometimes you need to prove your knowledge and experience, but when you've been served a drink a certain way 3 or 4 times, and then the last time you order it it comes out differently, we as customers don't really need to hear your justification nor that you'd need to reprimand a member of staff. Just an apology will do and a swift correction will do fine, regardless of who was at fault or if there would be any additional charges. Just for clarity; I have worked in customer facing jobs for 20+ years, so I've had my fair experience in customer service and how you deal with awkward situations. As for the atmosphere, it's a bit different to the usual country pubs we regularly visit further north in Hertfordshire, groups of roudy blokes, getting the odd stare here and there etc, I wouldn't say that it's entirely a great place to bring young family or the elderly. (or not on days like today at least) Obviously being a pub you can't pick your customers, but it wasn't the greatest atmosphere to be in. Regardless, I/we will 100% be returning to this pub as the food was great and most of the staff were great. I'd highly recommend it to anyone considering going.

The guys working there were very friendly, the atmosphere was fun and chilled, especially with the little lights in the evening and we really liked the food. Best nachos we've ever had! Oh and, good cocktails too at a good price. We'll definitely be back! Update March 2024: Even when it wasn't warm enough to be outside like in our last visit, we had a great time. Saying that, they have tables outside with umbrellas and heaters. Everyone at the bar is so friendly. Tonight they had some DJ music too and the place was so lively. Shame I don't live closer but I'm coming back for sure!

Good was absolutely delicious, highly recommend. It was really busy though and took time for drinks and food to be served. Lovely inside and the beer garden is fab. I believe they do live music sometimes too 👌

We occasionally stop by this pub on our way to the grocery store for a refreshing drink and a satisfying meal. This time, we opted to indulge in a traditional Sunday Roast, and it turned out to be a splendid decision. Despite the bustling crowd, the service was excellent, and the food was simply delightful. The generous portions and flavorsome dishes left us impressed; I particularly enjoyed the succulent roast chicken that was perfectly moist. The abundance of rich gravy complemented the meal well, and the colossal Yorkshire pudding filled with slow-cooked beef was exceptionally delectable. The dessert was a delightful conclusion to our feast, leaving our stomachs content. Leaving the pub without feeling fully satisfied is nearly impossible.

Was due to go to Fish n Eels but the reviews weren't good so we changed our booking to here....so glad we did. Service was great, staff very friendly. Food was great and I thank the waitress that persuaded me to have the chicken and avocado salad instead of the scampi, it was delicious!! Will definitely visit again 👍

The Spotlight is a versatile venue that hosts various live performances, including theatrical productions, concerts, and comedy acts. It can accommodate up to 1360 standing or 566 seated guests and offers a bar service with snacks and drinks. Visitors have enjoyed experiences such as watching The Mersey Beatles perform and visiting Santa's Grotto with an impressive Santa. Some have also praised the intimate setting of the theater and the friendly staff while suggesting improvements for seating arrangements during events.
Went to see the Magic of Motown show at this theatre. Was a great experience from start to finish - the car park is in the theatre grounds so next to no walking and was free. There’s a bar where you can buy bar snacks or pizza and it’s a nice smallish intimate auditorium. Had a lovely time and will definitely be looking for other shows to see.

Early arrival to get parked,(very close to event)once inside the very clean, we'll run and relaxing premises your event should full fill your experience with good sound and lighting experience. Hot food and bar available. Good clean toilets. There is also wheelchair ♿️ facilities so all in all you should have a good time.

Great venue! Large room for the event which a stage. The only problem was queuing for drinks took forever as there were loads of people attending the same event. I felt there could have been more staff members to cater for the event seeing that they were aware of the number of tickets sold. All in all, it was a great venue, large restaurant area, outdoor space and large toilet facilities too.

The Spotlight is a wonderful theatre that offers a huge array of different shows and live events. I visit here several times a year for various types of shows. I've seen anything from psychic mediums to live bands, and even pantomimes here. They also have some great shows for children, too. We recently went along to watch Dinosaur Adventure Live, which was fantastic. I highly recommend checking out what the Spotlight have on for the coming months. It is a comfortable and clean theatre with a well stocked bar. They offer snacks as well as freshly made pizza! Great asset to the local area.

I visited the venue to attend an event. The halls where the fair was set up was big enough and the facilities clean however, it was really hot inside the halls as there were no ceiling or other fans or any ventilation. BUT the biggest issue is parking. It has only 3 disabled parking spaces at the venue and the rest is in a public car park on the right, next to the venue but it was full and the local residents told me it was always full so much so that even off street parking was nowhere to be found. The parking on the left has been permanently blocked by council and the one on the right is full. So you have to park afar and walk to the venue.

Beautiful and well kept community park. Lovely views, dog friendly and plenty to of spots to sit and dream
Neil S — Google review
Beautiful park, lovely long walk, many dog walkers. Two small obstacles is that cattle at times free roam and out of respect dogs must be kept on a lead. Dodging cow poop and high traffic mud can make it a challenge so bring your wellies or boots in the wetter and sodden weather. Dog poop bins are mainly located in the main park and none in the back field so you will have to carry it some way if you choose to explore. All round this walk gives you a physically challenging workout with hills and dips all over. Highly recommend around sunset as the views can be spectacular. *****

Fantastic museum with a variety of very interesting exhibits including the four swans from Waltham Cross and the stuffed tiger from Cedars Park. Today myself & my wife were completely stuck on what to do for my birthday! We were recommended Lee Valley Boat Centre on a Facebook group. I'm so pleased we decided to go <3 Parking was easy & just over the road, FREE TOO!! Staff were helpful, polite and chatty! We were able to get straight on our boat and I absolutely adored my Birthday boat trip. This was a new experience for us and something I'm so proud that we did! My wife was boat captain & tried her best, we had such a giggle and thoroughly enjoyed our hour trip. Beautiful houses along the way & generally a beautiful trip out. Highly recommended as a date idea, family trip out or something off the bucket list. Thank you for making my birthday special

We hired a boat on Sunday, 4th of May, for a leisurely cruise up the river. There were 7 of us in our group. The guys at L.V.B.C. were great, well organised, and everything was explained to us to keep us safe. We took a well packed hamper with us, but you can travel light as there's two pubs to moor up at if you head upstream so you won't go hungry. The weather was OK, which does make the day even better . We would highly recommend this as a day out, and we will definitely be doing it again. Thanks again to L.V.B C. crew. See you soon 👍
Glenn M — Google review
Such a great day out. We hired a day boat (Mr Toad - 8 person) with some friends and 2 doggies. :) - 2 pets allowed - one included in the price and the extra is an extra £5. The very friendly staff are very thorough with their safety and boat handling instructions and they send you videos before your day as well so you can be more prepared if you don't have boating experience. I believe you can hire a skipper to join you for the day if you are very uncertain of boat handling and if you'd prefer it, but as I said, they give you lots of instruction and guidance. The day is from 9:15 am to be back and debarked by 6pm... It's a lovely long day and you can bring your drinks and snacks on board for the day, as well as mooring a long the river at some of the pubs as you you if you fancy stopping for breakfast or lunch etc. You can bring a bit of booze, they just ask it's not excessive amounts and that you have a few named.over 21 year olds on board who are classed as "responsible people" and remain sober. It's a slow and relaxed ride and I will say the times goes alot quicker than you think so be prepared so you don't end up turning back too late as you have to factor in lock time... The staff go though all that with you... I'm not an experienced boater, I found the locks fun but it's a lot of work so be prepared. Luckily we had experienced friends on board with us so it was a smoother experience :) All in all, it's very good value for money, we paid 240 for the day for our boat, the different size boats are different prices and it differs depending on the season as well. Great idea for a fun and different day out - and regulars on the river are all very friendly and love to give you a smile and a wave as you pass by. Highly recommended.

Must visit if in the area. Taken a few friends here and even with a baby, the centre provides a life jacket for kids. Easy to operate electric boats. Lovely ride on the canal. Calming and pleasant. What a great place to have nearby. Tennis, padel, squash, cricket, running, hockey, football, a bar, fresh pizza (from Pizza Wow's cabin which is often on site in the summer or for events), and more! Lessons for kids and adults, for all of the above (and more!), friendly staff. Car park is a bit holey but usually big enough. Ad hoc gift sales and social clubs and events going on. Really lucky to have this club in the area. Now a disabled lift is on site so even more accessible.

Absolutely loved this place! I had a full English breakfast and it was incredible — everything was perfectly cooked, from the crispy bacon to the juicy sausages and perfectly done eggs. The beans and toast were spot on, and everything came out hot and fresh. I also had one of their smoothies, which was super tasty and refreshing — full of natural flavour. This is a proper local café with a great vibe and friendly staff. You can tell they really care about quality and customer experience. A true hidden gem. Five stars without a doubt!

Made a detour off M25 for a country coffee on route to the Midlands from London. More a take away venue than a cafe, though there is seating. Grab your coffee cup & fill it here with a fresh cappuccino & choose from fresh bakes or cooked breakfast, then enjoy a stroll next to the pretty canal. It helped that it was a beautiful sunny day.

Small riverside cafe, but with a large menu of hot and cold food and beverages. Had a scone and a cappuccino and was disappointed with both, but service was efficient and I found seating. Seems like the only place on the river, so you take what you can get I suppose.

Its one of my favourites, I just love sitting here and watching the world go by. If you have a couple of chairs or blanket take them along as the picnic benches (which are covered at the moment) get busy. There's nearly always a queue but it soon goes down, lots of choice and the food prepared fresh for you ... Great coffee too always a bonus. It's a great area to explore as well, close to the canal network It's the perfect place to start or finish, it can get busy but all the best places do !

"The Crown" is a traditional 1930s inn located in Broxbourne, offering an eclectic menu and a charming atmosphere. The establishment has undergone significant improvements in the past two years, enhancing its overall experience. Despite some setbacks with the availability of draft non-alcoholic lager, the inn continues to be a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. With a rich history dating back to the 1700s, The Crown Inn has maintained its reputation for hospitality and excellent food.
Our first time visiting the Crown in Broxbourne and we are planning to come back very soon after a wonderful lunch last Sunday. Service was friendly from when we entered the pub and were sat in an area accommodating to our needs. Massive appreciation to Tess, absolutely fantastic member of staff who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and she made sure we had everything we needed and absolutely amazing with our children, thank you! Food arrived hot, great quality and big portions. Can't wait to come back again!

Situated in the northern part of the Lea Valley Regional Park this is a good stop before nearby Broxbourne train station. We love how dog friendly this place is and there is a huge beer garden right by the River Lea. I wish there would have been a few more Ales on tap though.

We stopped by The Crown after a day out boating. The wait wasn’t too long, which was a nice surprise. I had the prawn cocktail—it was delicious and generously sized, could’ve easily been a main course! The other dishes were just okay, but unfortunately, the chips and fries with both meals were dry and overcooked, so we ended up leaving them. I’d probably only go back if we were in the area for boating again. That said, the staff were friendly, and I have to say—seeing chilled sauce bottles in little fridges was a first for me. Big thumbs up for that.

Didn’t eat today but have done so regularly and had a great Christmas Day meal here last year with family. This Rose wine was recommended to us today by the bar staff and it certainly hits the spot! Beautiful location as well. A lovely way to spend a weekend afternoon.

A sports bar. Bit too noisy for us. We had booked into in-house ilatain restaurant, but on arriving, we found out that it was just an ad on from a hole in the wall in the garden. Not really a proper restaurant. More for drink & pizza in a sports pub. Can not write about food as we decided to move on.

I didn't eat here so I can't comment on that, but I am curious. This is a pub that is all to easily over looked and yet it has the same live music as the busier pubs of Hoddesdon (up the road) It's in a great location, near to Broxbourne train station and the rivers and it's cosy! Drinks are very reasonably priced. There is plenty of seating.

Its a lovely pub nice pizza van on site delicious! However I think £17.95 for a bottle of white wine called Jack rabbit is extremely overpriced. It is just £ 11 at another pub. It is also not very worthy of the price we actually left it. Please get a decent white wine in obviously not the over expensive ones. But something a little better. Other than that we enjoyed it clean and good staff

Saffron Indian Restaurant offers a traditional Indian menu with Nepalese specialties in a simple and contemporary setting. Visitors have praised the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, as well as the attentive customer service. The restaurant is known for its quality food and variety of chutney sides that accompany the dishes. While some found the food to be slightly bland, others enjoyed everything they ordered and appreciated the hot and well-presented dishes.
We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Saffron in Hoddesdon. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful in guiding us through the menu. The menu itself is impressive, offering a wide range of authentic Indian and Bangladeshi dishes. Whether you are after traditional favourites or want to try something new, there’s plenty of choice for everyone and the staff are more than happy to explain and recommend dishes to suit your taste. The food was outstanding, full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and served in generous portions that left us more than satisfied. It’s rare to find a place that gets the balance of quality and quantity so right. What really stood out, aside from the taste, was how affordable it all was. For the quality and portion sizes, the value for money is excellent. Saffron isn’t just a restaurant – it’s an experience. Great food, friendly service, generous portions, and fair prices. We'll definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family.

Good quick service and polite staff but only the traditional section of the menu should be considered to order from. I wasnt impressed with my chef special that tasted of mango chutney instead of honey. The Pistachio Korma was a normal Korma with a sprinkle of 5ish crushed nuts. I think they believe the English have no palate so they concentrate more on selling beer than asking how the food is. I had a nice time due to the company I was in. Wouldn't choose to return.

Awesome food we went with friends and had a great night. Staff were great and very friendly will be back

Clean and welcoming, this Indian Restaurant has great selection of food and drinks. Staff are attentive and portion size is great. Food is cooked well and served hot however, flavour/spice lacks in various dishes which is somewhat disappointing. If you’re looking for a nice meal this is a good restaurant, if you’re looking for a really good meal this probably won’t satisfy your cravings.

We showed up at 8pm, Sunday Bank Holiday Weekend, no reservations a party of 9. The staff was very friendly and helpful . Their suggestions regarding menu selections were wonderful. They strived to make the whole experience great. The food was very good, all in my party went away very satisfied. Portions -spot on. It was a great evening for a spur of the moment decision to go out.

Celtic Harmony Camp, nestled in Brickendon near Hertford, is a delightful destination for families eager to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of the Celts. This living museum showcases Iron Age life through its authentic round houses and offers a variety of engaging activities like bushcraft courses and archery lessons that promise an exciting day out.
I had an incredible experience there. The instructors were brilliant. The learning experiences for the children was fantastic. This venue is a hidden gem and surely others need to know about it. I found all the staff so polite and supportive. They modelled excellent behaviour and helped to bring out the best in all the pupils. The accommodation was exactly what we expected Celtic round houses and tents for the adults. If you plan to go, do consider staying overnight the experience is well worth it.

Amazing!! The family and I spent the day at the camp. We had lunch at The Woodland Bistro. Food was flavoursome and plenty. The setting of the camp was fantastic, a walk back in time. We explored the woodlands and Heritage Centre. So much to see and do. We all had a great time. Looking to return very soon.

One of our best days out ever! said my 6 year old. The staff are so so lovely, so friendly and good with children! The whole site is impeccably kept. The activities engaging for both my 2 yr old and 6 yr old. All the staff look like they love their jobs (which is very rare!). We love this place and have recommended it to all our friends!

We went to the Celtic Harmony Camp for a game of disc golf. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially in signing us in and showing us the course. Our kids all enjoyed it; we hadn't played before but it was a lot of fun and the woodland setting is great. We'll definitely come back and would recommend it to others.

Our family of 4 spent a week end at Celtic Harmony Camp in August 2022. It was a 3 day / 2 nights trip and I was dreading to go. The programme sounded absolutely fantastic and I knew the kids would love it. The perspective of not having a bathroom has put me in the wrong mindset. Upon arrival, I discovered they actually had showers and toilets (with running water) for everybody here who is still wondering and they were built at Easter this year. Now that’s been said, I had an absolutely fantastic time. We only were 2 families on site that week end which was a blessing. Kids were about the same ages (ours are 9 and 6) and enjoyed the outdoors. The round house was quite large for the 4 of us. The beds were confortable. Towels were provided on request. What I particularly appreciated is that we could take our time to do the activities. There was no rush whatsoever which made it very enjoyable. Each morning when I read the schedule, I was wondering how on earth we could do all of the things on paper. And we did, with spare time on top. I can’t recommend this place enough. Mason (who can climb really high in trees - be aware if you play hide and seek with him - plays music and is a talented archer) and Ben (who will tell you all about birds, bats, Beaker pots and more…) are both passionate about the era and history in general and will transport you to another time. It was so interesting. They taught us so many things, how to start a fire (from wood only), I did my first archery lessons, went on a bat walk, built a den, had lots of fun playing hide and seek, attempted to make an arrow head (this is really hard), learned what a hurdy gurdy is and played percussions (thanks Mike and Mason from Here Be Flagons). Last thanks to Jake who cooked for us and Alex who watched the camp at night. If you’re looking for a place where you can be outdoors (no screens there, there a couple of sockets in the round houses to charge phones), connect with nature, getting to know how Stone Age people lived and Celtic tribes battled (among other things), bond with your family, this is the place to go. Fantastic day out. Highly recommend it. Beautiful surroundings, excellent activities delivered by a fantastic staff team! If ordering pizzas for kids, next time I’d def order 1 between 2 :) Food was good!

There was lots to do from cooking outdoors, archery, orienteering and making bracelets. The cafe was nice with a wide range of food and drink. There was a lot of structures to discover in the woods

Brilliant place. We took part in the ‘Rewild your Summer’ week and there were activities that both children and adults could join in an all day programme. Would go again.

Nestled in the charming town of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, Royal Bengal has been a beloved dining destination for over 18 years. This traditional restaurant specializes in authentic Indian and Asian Fusion cuisine, offering a delightful array of dishes that cater to all palates. With its fully licensed and air-conditioned environment, Royal Bengal is perfect for family outings, romantic dinners, or larger gatherings. The menu boasts an impressive selection of vegetarian options alongside classic curries and Tandoori specialties.
I ordered a selection of food for delivery. The service is outstanding. The Tandoori dishes and breads are excellent particularly the prawn Tandoori. The classic curries are just right with an authentic taste of spices. Great selection of food to choose from with the added benefit of deciding how hot you want the dish. You can expect the price to be fair for what you get, the portion size is good too. What I found particularly impressive is the service I received, helpful, kind and friendly, with delicious food. I'll definitely order again.

I’d highly recommend the Royal Bengal for delicious food, great service and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s family friendly, great for couples and for larger parties. I’ve been there many times and have never been disappointed. There’s a large menu to choose from and the staff are happy to adjust any dish from spicy to less spicy, they’ve helped me with my gluten allergy which is very comforting knowing I can eat almost anything without the worries of cross contamination. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone like ok’ing for the perfect combination of food quality, atmosphere and service

As I'm a courier I can end up anywhere, and here is where I had my fish and chips from. On my route and easy parking right outside. Very impressed, place looked very clean, nice staff that actually hold a conversation and an amazing serving of fish n chips, with a tartare sauce and a piece of lemon. Not too greasy and very tasty, no complaints from me at all

Omg this place is amazing, the food is always so good. It’s hot, fresh and always so tasty. I can’t recommend this place enough. The service is spot on and the guys are so friendly. I’ve been to a lot of chip shops and kebab places over the years living in Cheshunt but this place has both and either is fantastic. If you’re after a good meal at great prices this is the place to go.
