This indoor venue offers a variety of engaging activities, ensuring there's something for everyone. Whether you're seeking adventure or simply want to unwind with loved ones, Planet Leisure provides an exciting atmosphere where you can create lasting memories.
Really enjoyed it here. Went with my partner and the bairn. We had something to eat before doing anything else. The online available slots can be a bit misleading. It showed availability for Crazy Golf at 2pm (we were there then) We went up to pay and get signed in, but were told there was no space until 16.15 despite what the website stated. We rebooked for early evening and just came back as it isn’t far anyway, but definitely book online, that would be my only very slight gripe! Everything else, very good

My kids love Planet Leisure. Parties are made easy and so many activities to choose from. Bowling, Laser tag, Roller skating, glow and the dark mini golf, trampolines... We have done them all!!!
May F — Google review
What a fun place. We were 2 adults who went roller skating. Glad it was crowded but they do need a better check in system or queue signs. Decent priced beer for a cheeky one after the mini workout.
Jennifer S — Google review
Big spot Accessible entrance Lots to do Bowling Skating Trampoline Later tag & more Food available Coffee Snacks A couple of rude staff members. Politeness and a smile goes a long way. Pre booked for bowling so no wait (ish) we obviously had to que to see someone at main desk/book in. Didn't book for later tag, half hour wait to get in so Recommend pre booking. Party going on upstairs, looked well set out.
Diff-Ability C — Google review
This is a really nicely kitted out leisure venue. It was my first visit although my wife and children have been a few times. I was really impressed with the facilities, cleanliness, food and atmosphere. The roller skating and bowling were great. I popped my head in the laser quest and it seemed great. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again even though it's closer to 30 miles from our home
Paul A — Google review
Massively impressive place. When you think of industrial unit businesses you think of basic, one trick pony, places. - not here. Been massive money plumbed into here. Loads to do. Like absolutely loads, menu is really expansive and very reasonably priced too! Will definitely be back!
Joel T — Google review
My son went to a friend's laser quest birthday party and overall it was pretty good. For the party the kids had 2 rounds of laser quest, party food which was chicken and chips baskets. Which the kids all loved. Now onto the negative points, we stood just outside the laser quest arena in the area where the kids get the guns. During the actual games there was no one of the staff around to help, on several occasions some of the kid guns stopped working and they came out to get help, and there was no one there. Then one of the children actually fell over during the match and hurt his leg and was in tears, again there was no one there to attend to him, it was left to myself and other parents to help him. Which of course we would do anyway, but not what you expect at a party event. Also we had to swap out broken guns with ones on the stands as again there was no one to assist with unfunctioning guns. The staff were also just going around doing a job, not engaging with the kids or communicating with people. Can only describe them as just going through the motions of doing the jobs, almost drone like. Also as the party was booked for 2 months I feel another 20 minutes game would have been better and 3 instead of 2 rounds of laser quest, as the kids spent some of the time just generally playing.
Sean — Google review
Great facility with lots of fun things to do. The staff are brilliant but we had problems with the bowling. It kept breaking when resetting the pins. It happened 5 times and we had to keep going to ask them to fix it. The staff moved us to another lane but it happened again so the game took ages. I think perhaps some maintenance is required

Rof59 Trampoline Park is an exhilarating destination for both kids and adults looking to expend some energy. With a variety of attractions including trampolines, swings, slides, and even dodgeball courts, it's the perfect spot for a fun-filled day. Families can enjoy two-hour sessions that leave everyone pleasantly exhausted by the end. The on-site café offers a delightful selection of food and beverages like tea, coffee, and cold drinks to refuel after all that jumping around.
Great place for kids ( and adults) to burn off some energy, booked 2hrs on the trampoline park, swings, slides, trampolines and dodgeball, boys were well tired by the end. Cafe with nice choice of food, tea, coffee and cold drinks. Also in the same building are Clip n Climb which we’ll do tomorrow, looks amazing for kids. There is also one of the biggest bouldering / rock climbing walls I’ve ever seen. Atmosphere was good. Alcohol availability at the Blitz Restaurant.
Stevie A — Google review
Kids love the trampolines and adventure climb. Large warehouse so normally cold but kids keep active. Coffee/snack bar service very slow, but restaurant food is decent. Outside food allowed so helpful for snacks/water with kids.
May F — Google review
The place was empty so we had to wait 50 minutes for the next session as they sent staff home. However when we went back for the 3 o’clock slot, there was numerous staff jotted about. The young blonde female staff member was very rude. Constantly shouting at the children, baring in mind they are children, you couldn’t do anything in there without being shouted at. Family caught her pulling faces and shrugging her shoulders at other adults in our group when tending to the children. Took my little girl who is 3 years old onto the slide bit, got told I couldn’t take her up then got told she couldn’t go up as she was too small. If she is too small why am I paying the same price as everyone else has for their children? If I paid the same price as another child/ adult, we should be getting the same access to the area as they are. Wouldn’t go back again, you felt as if you couldn’t do anything without being pulled up on it. Would recommend going to planet leisure over the road. A lot more nicer staff and area.
Kayleigh — Google review
We visited for the 1st time today. The staff are nice and the place is cleaner and less crowded compared to similar venues. The only thing is that we found it a bit overpriced.
Syruk — Google review
Went climbing with an instructor, the staff were really friendly despite being a bit over busy, great enthusiasm and activities on the different types of wall. Was surprised on the no photos/videos policy but there are now signs everywhere. Didnt realise food was on offer fairly late but the loos were looking a bit tired at the end of the day, looks like they don't flush all that great.
Bob — Google review
Good clean place to take the kids. Can work out costly for some of the activities especially if you are with smaller children who are limited. Cafe prices appear reasonable. No issues
TheDumbWindow — Google review
Been trampolining dozens of time but decided to give the climbing a go. So much fun! We did a taster session and Charlie was our instructor. He was superb; encouraging, knowledgeable and very safe. Would highly recommend and we will most certainly be back.
Alicia L — Google review
Excellent trampolines for children to play on, run about etc. We attended a 2 hour toddler session so only young children. 90mins of play followed by 30mins of singing and dancing in adjacent room. Cartoon of milk and a couple of biscuits for the children. Staff fridndly and led the dancing, children loved it. The milk was a vanilla flavoured milk which perhaps not everyone liked, it was quite sweet. I would suggest so plain milk for those that want it. Afterwards ordered a childrens meal which cost £5. Pizza and chips both of which were great, especially the chips. ( other meals available, all at £5 for children). Only a short wait. Coffee good price at £2.10. Toilets clean and spacious. There is a small bar area for adults. You have to use thier branded socks, £1.50 so make sure to keep them. The 2 hour session was £7.50 which is very reasonable. Climbing walls were varied, lots of different types but for older children. I think you can go onto the roof but not sure. Plenty of staff around looking out for and checking children used the equipment safely.

This place is unbelievable if you are interested in aqua. Scaping this is the shop for you . Great service and well worth a visit. I haven't seen so many plants in one place, and Charlotte was so helpful in the shop.

Oh my goodness! What a fantastic place this is. We did a 3 hour round trip…. I’d have travelled for 6 hours if need be. Next level in every respect…. Nicole is an absolute diamond…. Her customer service care was truly something else. We spent almost an entire day there going over everything and Nicole was so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Originally found these guys on Facebook / YouTube and couldn’t wait to go see it all in person. The moment you walk through the door it’s simply stunning!!!…. I didn’t know where to look first. Everything is so well set out….( hardscape in a room / mechanical in a room etc ) it really did make it so easy to both see and get everything I needed. I’m new to aquascaping and though these guys are true pros in their field they couldn’t have been any more helpful in breaking it all down for a beginner if they’d tried. Another noted point is these guys use what they sell…. For every item I purchased Nicole readily walked me to show me the product in use….. How many businesses do you know that are not just promoting a brand they choose to sell, but selling what they truly believe to be the best available products? …… Then there’s their gallery……. Well if reassurance was ever needed of just how amazing this guys are just sit for a while in front of their displays….. Online purchases are always convenient but treat yourself to next level face to face customer service and pay them a visit. The best service I have ever experienced buying anything….. “ If you need any help at all setting up when you get home just reach out and I can FaceTime you “ That’s what I was told by Nicole…….. You’ll never beat customer service that’s still continued after the cash drawer has closed…. It shows these guys clearly love what they do and likewise want the customer to achieve their dream scape….. Thank you so much Nicole and James for a brilliant day! ( James is a great guy and very funny!!! ) Look forward to buying more from you…. 😊❤️

✨️SIMPLY AMAZING✨️ This store has such a great reputation, I simply had to make the 5 hr drive to see what all the fuss was about. Oh my, Horizon Aquatics just doesn't disappoint on any level. Greeted on arrival with a smile, a warm welcome, and a very well needed cup of coffee, I made my way around this Aladins cave of aquascaping wonders. Throughout my 7 hr stay, I slowly made my way from room to room, leaving the aquarium gallery till last. No spoilers here, but if it's aquascaping equipment, plants, fish, or simply fantastic customer service is up your street, then trust me, you will be in complete heaven. The gallery is breathtakingly awesome, with some real quality scapes showcasing world-class aquascaping techniques. So quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, I just had to return the following morning, and luckily enough, I managed to spend time chatting with staff and owners. Can't thank you guys enough for looking after me for so many hours and making me feel so at home and very welcome. I will return ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The friendliest people I’ve ever met. Never any pressure to buy and they will shower you with information for free. Bought our drift wood and plants from here. We visit once every couple of months and we’ll new back as we build our 3 nano tanks. Our tank is continuously a working process and we are learning every day something new. Their YouTube channel is great for tips and tricks!

Embarking on a 6-hour round trip to Horizon Aquatics proved to be a journey that was entirely worthwhile. Having engaged with Horizon Aquatic's exceptional online services for over a year—ranging from their user-friendly website to their outstanding email communications—my in-store experience only served to solidify my high regard for them. Horizon Aquatics stands as a paragon within the UK's aquascaping industry. The store presents an awe-inspiring gallery that captivates at first glance, complemented by a meticulously organized layout that epitomises the zenith of high-end aquascaping retail environments. James and Nicole, the heart of Horizon Aquatics, are lovely individuals who provide an exceptional level of service. Their warm welcome instantly made us feel at home, and their willingness to spend considerable time answering our questions underscored their deep-rooted passion for aquascaping. It's this very passion that radiates throughout every facet of their business, making it abundantly clear that they're not just running a store—they're spearheading an evolution within the UK aquascaping industry.

What a beautiful store. We made clear on arrival that we were there mainly to look around and not to purchase anything. Yet, we were made to feel so welcome, had a good long chat about our Koi pond at home and were given some really great insight into the aquascaping hobby. My mother is now looking forward to her retirement when she'll set up a beautiful tank like the ones we were shown at Horizon!

Just wow! From the outside the shop looks so small but inside its massive! So much selection. It was a 45min drive but the staff were amazing, they dont hover over you all the time but the second you ask for help they are there and jeeeeze do they know there stuff. So much help i will 100% be going back soon

Pizza Takeout
Kebab shop
The Olive Garden, located in Newton Aycliffe, is a popular spot for pizza and burgers that many locals rave about. While the experience of picking up food from the restaurant is often delightful—serving hot and fresh meals—the delivery service has left some customers feeling disappointed. Many have reported receiving cold food upon delivery, which detracts from the overall enjoyment of their meal. For instance, soggy burger buns and hard cheese on pizza have been common complaints.
Amazing pizza great value and amazing taste. 🍕 🍕 Staff are fantastic 👏
Victoria T — Google review
shocking wait time food was cold staff just kept saying food will be a couple of minutes, went to the shop down the road and still sat for 30 minutes afterwards, what’s the point in ordering early to then not get food, people were just walking in ordering food and walking out before us. All this for 2 doner wraps and cheesey chips, absolutely shocking worst takeaway in aycliffe full stop.
Leon B — Google review
My order came to £36 not cheap we got a pizza 2x chips and 2x chicken kebabs with salad the chicken was nice the pizza ok but the chips were rock hard a couldn’t even eat them when a dipped them in the garlic and the salad looked and tasted like it had already seen a couple of birthdays they were not fresh probably made up Saturday night and re-used Sunday. Then when a rang to complain I was offered 20% off my next order as if I rang for the discount and not to complain about my ruined meal. I order from here about once a week and i actually travel here I live to far away for a delivery but that’s me tapping out a won’t be back poor food and poor customer service such a shame it used to be really nice.
Paul A — Google review
Food was burnt and response from owner was "sorry u don't like it", forgive me for not like eating burnt food. Ordered a parmo and the cheese was way too burnt, see photo. And there was a piece of wraping paper underneath got too soggy and melted onto the chicken.. couldn't eat that so had to give up some part. A little disappointed cause we use this takeaway fairly often before this.

Garlic bread with Donner meat... The little meat that was actually on the bread was solid and dry as Garlic bread wasn't too bad though Chips were dry and tasteless Overall a waste of money Definitely one to avoid
Dave R — Google review
Got a mini kabab and Donner wrap for delivery chips were stone cold and not cooked and mini kabab had salad on after saying I did not want salad they said I had to pay to get the salad off. New one was sent out but never said I had to pay for no salad when ordering.then when it came I got given this as salad

I don’t use Olive Garden very often, although my daughter seems to like them. This was the 2nd time I’d had food from them & once again, they’d forgotten items off the order. The food was ok, but getting the order wrong really spoiled everything, maybe they’re short staffed?

Bed & breakfast
The County is a charming village restaurant and accommodation that offers British cuisine and comfortable rooms with free WiFi and cooked breakfast. It competes with national chains, providing a friendly and relaxed environment. The elegant restaurant serves quality food and drink, while the tastefully decorated rooms ensure a pleasant stay near the A1(M). Guests have praised their experience, from the delicious meals to the welcoming staff. Whether enjoying an evening meal or Sunday lunch, visitors can expect excellent food and warm hospitality at The County.
Great Experience! The food was delicious and portions were just right. The chicken mango salad starter was fresh and refreshing. The steak for the main course was ok, and the apple crumble dessert was perfectly sweet, highlighting the apple flavor. The staff were incredibly welcoming and chatty, making the experience feel homely. Overall, really good food and a wonderful atmosphere!
Mariusz — Google review
Went there first time about two weeks ago encouraged by the reviews and unfortunately didn’t like it. The ambient of the place is very nice as well as the service( can’t blame the waiters) but the food was well below average. I had (a very pricey) Sunday roast and I couldn’t be more disappointed. It was truly a bizzare concoction… never had a jacket potato with my Sunday roast before? One pig in blanket, one of each boiled vegetables (broccoli etc), gravy that tasted like made from granules, bland turkey, no nice sides. No effort was put into this dish and it tasted like hospital meal rather than something served at a top rated pub.
Natalia L — Google review
We stayed in one of the deluxe studios, the room was clean and well decorated, unfortunately these rooms are not next to the restaurant as stated on the website, they are 300yards down on the main road (A167) which is a busy road, so the noise from the traffic kept us awake and It says it has WIFI but it didn’t. Staff in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful, food of the evening was very nice, breakfast not so good.

Midweek family get together. Pleasantly surprised as to how busy it was. Booked online the evening before, smooth experience. Meal was on the high side of good. Indian restaurant
Elachi Restaurant is a popular Indian dining spot known for its delicious food and friendly staff. However, the restaurant's location on an upper floor presents accessibility challenges for those with physical disabilities. Despite this drawback, patrons praise the quick service and delectable dishes, particularly recommending the lamb and chicken Korma. Some suggest that the owners consider relocating to a more accessible venue with ample parking. Overall, visitors appreciate the inviting atmosphere and attentive service at Elachi Restaurant.
Just had a meal for 2 with wife. It was superb. Spotless clean very friendly staff attentive to us. We had a special Biriani and a Corma. Peshwari nanna and pilau rice. Meal was superb. Highly recommend. Left very happy and will cone back again.

Tasteless and wishy-washy. Lacking any depth of flavour. The starters of chicken pakora and onion bhaji were okay, nothing to brag about though. Overall I was disappointed and would be hard pushed to visit again based on this experience.

Ruff 'n' Tumble Adventure World is a fantastic indoor adventure center that promises endless fun for kids of all ages. With an impressive soft play area, a climbing wall, and exhilarating bungee trampolines, it’s the perfect spot for energetic play. The facility features a dedicated section for toddlers under five, filled with engaging toys and gentle slides to ensure their safety and enjoyment. Adults can also join in on the fun by accessing the spacious play frame while enjoying ample seating throughout the venue.
Kids have fun, occupied them too. Reasonably priced food and drink, some a little expensive, but for a fun activity for kids, safe and overall good.

Visited for my granddaughter's birthday party. The ideal venue is well organised and great fun for the kids. Very busy, staff helpful. We had 19 kids in the party room, and I wouldn't recommend any more for comfort.
Anthony C — Google review
Absolute joke of a place, booked for 2 children online and when we arrived, all of the tables were reserved for "parties" so therefore we couldn't find an appropriate table to watch the 2 children under 5 whilst playing. I work in a restaurant with an adjoining play area, so if you know your facilities cannot accommodate for the masses, that have also booked, why allow people to book online or why not contact them about their booking or make sure there is a table reserved for them? The place is an absolute joke and the staff are incompetent and miserable, the staff member signed us in and seen us leave less than 5 minutes after but thanked us for coming??? This place is past its best and the staff all need better training evidently. Waste of fuel money and a waste of £15 from booking online. AVOID.
H B — Google review
We used to visit twice per week, we will find a new place as they refused our cash at the door. We travel 30 minutes (1HOUR ROUND TRIP) to this venue they see us regularly they have all my details. YES I HAD 3 £50 NOTES IF THE NOTE WAS FAKE THEY WOULD FIND ME EASILY. ITS DISGUSTING THAT COMPANIES REFUSE LEGAL TENDER . 4 kids plus food 1/2 per week you done me a favour. An as for the owner forcing these policies to force cashless your a joke. There was no foul language at the old girl either so cut that out. Cosmic Kingdom will get our twice weekly visit now. THANKS AGAIN. 😊

Excellent softplay for toddlers. Dedicated under 5 area filled with toys, puzzles, soft climbs and slides. Larger softplay for kids over 5 also available. £5.25 for 2 hours play per child, no payment for adults. Plenty of seating and spacious with a good selection of reasonably priced food and drink. Lots of free parking.
Michael G — Google review
Good play frame, which adults can also access. A separate area and playframe for children up to 5. Plenty of seating for adults and the section away from the main frame is quieter than elsewhere. Electronic door controls are only operated by staff, so you can be sure your children can't exit on their own. Party rooms nicely decorated but could do with a little more ventilation. Maybe some large fans would help. Cafe to order food, which was better than the usual fare. Coffee £2.50 for an americano, acceptable quality. Staff friendly and efficient. They monitored the play areas at times, which was good to see.

Really good, soft play. Clean, with plenty of toys for the children of all ages! Very friendly and obliging staff. Very good food.

Nestled between Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe, Woodham Golf & Country Club boasts a stunning par-73 course that stretches 6,688 yards from the back tees. This picturesque venue combines woodland charm with parkland beauty, making it an ideal spot for both golf enthusiasts and special events. Many have praised the exceptional service provided by Wendy and her dedicated team during weddings and receptions held at the club.
Wow what can I say. From the first day of my meeting with Wendy to discuss our wedding, Wendy has been excellent and has done a wonderful job, vey professional, Wendy and her team made our day so special they went above and beyond to make our day as special as possible. Everything ran so smoothly it was the best day of our lives. Thank you so much Wendy and her team you are the best and I would highly recommend the golf club for any occasion. Our meals were excellent service was great couldn't fault a thing. Thank you so much.

Everything about this place is superb. The golf shop is modern and has some great products in, the clubhouse is elite and multipurpose and the course was exceptional. Course also wasn't crammed and the booking system means you can breathe while playing without being up someone's backside nor being pushed along by someone inpatient, will 100% be back.

What a fabulous course ! 👏 Great bar / restaurant accompanied with immaculate practice faculties. Proper golf shop also which all golf courses should have. Ernie served us who was great crack and really helpful when I enquired about getting a new grip for my putter. Really enjoyed today and I will be coming back ! 🏌️‍♂️

My sister had her wedding reception here in July, brilliant from start to finish, Wendy and her team were second to none, from time of booking right through to end of reception, they were there as a team to help with anything we asked of them, from Wendy and her little army, to the bar staff and cleaners, it could not have been smoother in any way, the meal was beautiful, the chef very helpful, from all of us many, many thanks.
Michelle — Google review
This course gets 2 stars for having a great layout. Otherwise, it would be 1 went today as a group of 6 unfortunately 2 couldn't make it last minute we had ordered 4 buggies for the 2 original 4 balls but had to go out as 2 3 balls not sure why maybe to speed up play? Even though it was painfully slow anyway in front. After 3 of us teed off the guy from the pro shop walked out and asked if we could just wait and let this 2 ball nip out quickly why didn't they book an earlier tee time if they knew there was 4 balls going out? But the worst thing was the course and the price we were charged! I had played here years ago, and it hasn't gotten any better. Greens are still very slow compared to any other courses in the area and lots of damaged rough patches on some greens, there is terrible maintenance all over the course left over dead grass everywhere from the rough we had numerous balls lost just off the greens and fairways shocking and a lots of uneven poor tee boxes! We played a championship golf course 2 days ago for £24 through the golf now app which makes this look like a farmers field with flags on it and this cost us £45 each for golf and shared buggy so i presume £30-£35 for golf and rest for buggy ridiculous! It should be no more than £15 Won't be back much better value elsewhere!
Michael — Google review
Played Woodham today and have to say considering the dry weather the course was on good condition one or two tee boxes were a bit sandy and a couple of greens seemed to have some kind of disease in patches but overall everything was positive. Clubhouse staff were extremely polite and friendly and it's a pleasant change from some clubs we've visited in the past.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Mike's Fish Bar is a delightful spot nestled behind the Newton Aycliffe shopping center, perfect for those craving classic fish and chips. Known for its generous portions, this local gem offers a variety of options beyond just fish, including sausages and fishcakes. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, often engaging in light-hearted banter with customers. While some have noted that the chips can be hit or miss, many rave about the freshness and quality of the food overall.
I live and work in London, visiting my parents who live in the area and found this place online. Friendly staff, great food, good value for money. Love how up north the portions are large as a matter of fact and the large portions are ginormous. I've ordered a regular and a large fish and chips.

Local chippy at rear of Newton Aycliffe shopping centre with accessible parking. Very peasant friendly staff. Good choice of food ie fishcakes, sausages etc in addition to fish and chips. Food is generally good but the chips can vary. Small or large portions are available.

If you're in the mood for some delicious fried chicken, KFC Newton Aycliffe - A167 is a must-visit destination. This popular restaurant chain is renowned for its iconic buckets of crispy chicken, combo meals, and tasty sides that satisfy any craving. During my recent visit at 9 PM, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm hospitality of the staff. One gentleman stood out with his polite demeanor and exceptional service—kudos to him!
Visited the Newton Aycliffe KFC tonight (21:00). The staff was incredibly friendly and well-coordinated. A special thanks to the shorter gentleman working there—he was very polite and provided fantastic service. Keep up the great work!

First meal in a long time uk wide that has all been piping hot ,staff pleasant and restaurant very clean and tidy served quickly and everything delicious thankyou

After i use them several times,i can say...Not great, not terrible! The only "problem" is that you have to wait a lot untill your order is done, even if they are not busy.Mabye KFC food,is getting done slower than MC or BK,i don't know. Another thing is the drive thru. This KFC is located in a Motorway Service Station, but they have a height limit of 2.7 meters, and means that I, with my van, cannot enter the drive thru, which is ridiculous for a service station 😂 Staff is friendly. The location is always clean and tidy.Toilets are free and very clean.

100% the worst kfc I’ve ever been to, went in there between half 9 and 10 and was the only person in there, I tried to look for the deal they were offering, so went on the computer screens and couldn’t find it so decided to walk over to the counter, after 5 to 10 minutes of no one coming to me I decided to go back to the computer screen and eventually found the deal on offer, mini fillet burger popcorn chicken and chips £2.99, on then placing an order for myself and my missus I stood there for over 20 minutes before a young girl passed me my order and said sorry about the wait with a somewhat smirk has if she couldn’t give two hoots, so after all that I thought at least the food should be freshly cooked and piping hot, which to be honest my missus 3 piece of chicken were but for £5.49 they were tiny pieces of chicken, then for me to start eating my food which was stone cold and my mini fillet burger had no lettuce on, I think is one pee take to much, if I wasn’t so far away from home I would of returned the food but like the staff I couldn’t be arsed
Ay D — Google review
The staff where nice but the food is disgusting. This is obvious by the fact it was totally empty. But MC Donald's over the road was really busy. And the food there isn't much better
Michael L — Google review
I've visited this place multiple times, hoping the service and quality would improve, but it consistently falls short. The service here is never the quickest, and ordering ahead doesn't seem to make much of a difference-it's still a long wait every time. On top of that, I'm often left disappointed by the portion size of the 4-piece meal. As you can see in the picture, it feels a bit underwhelming for what I'm paying. To add to the frustration, the chips rarely come properly seasoned. The new seasoning is actually really good when they apply it generously, but usually, there's barely a sprinkle, and it doesn't do the flavor justice. I keep hoping for better, but this place just doesn't seem to deliver on speed, portion size, or consistency in flavor.

Indian restaurant
Bengal Lounge is a popular Indian restaurant known for its excellent food, reasonable prices, and great atmosphere. The staff is attentive and welcoming, ensuring that all guests have a pleasant dining experience. While the cash-only policy may be inconvenient for some, the delicious food and top-notch service make up for it. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion with a large party or looking for a cozy dinner spot, Bengal Lounge offers fresh and tasty meals that leave guests full and satisfied.
We had an amazing curry. Bengal Lounge is a wonderful Indian restaurant and takeaway with traditional Asian dishes at reasonable prices. Lovely helpful staff and a clean, well maintained dining area. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Deceptive from the outside, a really decent Indian restaurant. Pleasant staff, food is very good with an extensive menu. One small complaint is that they only accept cash which in this day and age is a little challenging. Fortunately an ATM a few shops down , but there are charges to withdraw money…. So most people unaware of the ‘cash only policy’ will start the evening a little peeved. The food and staff make up for that but I would ask that they reconsider this policy…. I guess the taxman would also desire this as well😂😂

Nice restaurant with very friendly staff and a nice selection on the menu. Both tried something different and enjoyed it. Definitely recommend a try !

Excellent authentic Indian restaurant that serves massive portions which are well prepared and cooked to perfection. The wines are paired perfectly for each dish and I would recommend getting the rioja to go with the duck. There are lots of combinations to try. The only downside is that they only accept cash, which you can get from the cash machine next door to it

Ordered Chicken tikka masala, was probably the worst masala I’ve had. We could only eat the chips and poppadoms
Callum H — Google review
My partner and I decided to try the banquet night which is poppadom with dips, choice of a starter a main and rice or nan £14.95. Banquet nights are Wednesday and Sunday and are very popular so booking is recommended. We chose Bhuna prawn puree, potato shamin starter, vegetable jalfrezi and vegetable dansak mains, vegetable pilau rice and mushroom pilau rice, in addition we had a side of vegetable vindaloo and Cucumber raitha. The distinct flavour of the Prawn Bhuna was to die for and the quantity would have been enough for a main, the potato shamin which were dumplings served with a mint sauce how ever were just too bland and failed miserably so would not order again would probably go for garlic mushrooms instead. The three curries were all vegetarian by choice and were all individually flavoured and unique and would definitely order again. Both the vegetable and mushroom pilau rice were light and full of flavour complementing the meal. My only negative was the lack of a sweet menu to finish off the meal other than that staff were attentive and pleasent to deal with. They only take Cash and we only spotted this half way through the meal, fortunately on this occasion we actually had some cash on us which is rarity. We intend to try them out Sunday as well. They are licenced and the prices are reasonable.

Upon entering this inviting establishment, guests are greeted by the cheerful chatter of locals and a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The pub offers an impressive selection of traditional British fare, featuring beloved dishes like Yorkshire puddings and classic fish and chips.
Our local pub for a number of years, always decent food and great atmosphere. Recently had new owners, whilst retaining the staff, but have recently introduced an additional specials menu which includes a Parmo Sharing Plate, choose 5 options from 7 for £28.00- WOW Fantastic and simply beat us, now got one each for lunch ! A great idea and really great value. We will be trying out the other deals and specials too.

Extremely disappointed. My partner and I were passing through the area today and made a reservation for Sunday lunch (made over the phone yesterday). Very picturesque location and beautiful building. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the food as we sat for 25 minutes without anything arriving at our table. I wouldn’t have thought that a particularly terrible wait in normal circumstances, however three table whose order had been taken after ours had been served their food in this time?? Wine was lovely though. We paid for that and left.

Monday afternoon and we find a pub open that serves food! The reviews match up with what we found. Our friend loved the pie/mash/peas combo with lashings of onion gravy! Hubby had the pork medallions whilst I went with the steak burger, both very enjoyable. It was quiet which suited the dogs, plenty space for them to lounge. Will go back.

Second visit in a couple of months. 10 of us went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. The service was pretty quick for the size of the group and we were all really pleased, between us we had most of the menu and everything was fantastic - especially the vegetables. The kids portions were a good size and everything was fairly priced. We had delicious desserts too. Definitely be back.

This is a local place for local people!! We waited over 10 minutes to not have a drink order taken then went to the bar instead.. after having our food and drink orders taken, we waited for another 25 minutes for nothing to happen and watched 3 tables of regulars seated after us to be served in record time. We paid for our drinks and left. Very disappointing service in what could be very nice pub.

Found us a table even though we had not booked and they were clearly very busy sat us in the conservatory part which was lovely ,light and enough space to not feel cramped. The dinner itself was delicious, roast beef cooked just right not over cooked and enjoyed the cauliflower cheese and the red cabbage something different to your usual veg.
