Nissaki in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Nissaki, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Nissaki is a laid-back coastal village on Corfu’s northeast coast, known for its clear turquoise waters, pebble beaches and views across the Ionian Sea to Albania. It’s a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling and small-boat hire, with sheltered coves that feel quieter than the island’s bigger resorts. Traditional tavernas by the water serve local seafood and Corfiot dishes, adding to the village’s unhurried charm. Its position at the base of Mount Pantokrator also makes it a convenient base for scenic drives and walks into the island’s hilly interior.
With favorites like TAVERNA DORA, Yiannis Taverna Krouzeri, and Mitsos Taverna, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Mitsos Taverna and Yiannis Taverna Krouzeri so you can get the best taste of Nissaki while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Beach
Nissaki Beach is a small, secluded beach with a rocky backdrop that provides natural shelter from winds. It is known for its cleanliness and attractiveness, making it popular for swimming and snorkeling. The beach offers clear underwater views and abundant marine life. With its gently shelving pebbled shore, it's considered safe for young swimmers. Nissaki Beach is well-organized and popular among families, offering easy access to tavernas and bars.
Amazing beach, small but not many people. If you are lucky you can spot "bino" the turtle. It's an albino turtle. 10/10 recommend.
Joppe B — Google review
A lovely small and cosy pebble beach located in Nissaki surrounded by a number of restaurants. Perfect for small families Perfect for snorkelling and highly recommend aqua shoes for comfort.
Rob J — Google review
Very small beach but also not very busy so perfect really, not a lot of sun beds but most likely due to size, access is also not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. Stunning clear waters and very small pebbled beach, 30 euros for two sunbeds and umbrella for the day is reasonable considering the location and the exclusivity. Great spot for snorkeling due to there being a drop with lots of rocks and lots of fish visible.
Sasha S — Google review
Beautiful tiny little piece of heaven. Clear emerald water with a tiny bay and a couple restaurants near it (view is stunning). Chairs and shade are 30 euros for the day and tbh ey are scarce. Spots are very limited. So arrive early.
David C — Google review
Very small beach, very nice. 2 sunbeds with umbrella 30 Euro per day. On other beaches on Corfu they offer it twice as cheap.
Miłosz P — Google review
Really small pebble beach, only a few sunbeds available. Be there early in the morning to catch a spot. There's a boat renting center nearby, and a restaurant with clean toilets. Accessible by car/scooter.
Cristina C — Google review
Small, but wonderful beach. With restaurants and cafes around. You can rent a 2 beds with umbrella for just a 15€ per day. Clean water and chill atmosphere. Amazing place to spend all day with (or without) kids all day. Just relax on the beach, swim, read a book and drink a homemade wine from Almyra cafe (takeaway).
Tony R — Google review
It’s a really small beach so make sure you come as early as possible, otherwise you might end up with no space left. For 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella we paid 25€, which is quite pricy, but there is also free space to sit on the pebbled beach. The water is amazing, warm and very clear, perfect for snorkeling, we’ve seen loads of fish here. Also, even though there are pebbles in the water, they are a lot finer than I’ve seen on other beaches and it is comfy even without shoes.

If you visit Corfu, this is the best boat rental service what you can have. Well worth the money. Friendly service and absolutely brilliant boats. We took the smallest boat Eleni for the first day from 9am till 6pm for 80 euros +20 euros fuel. It was well worth it. The next day we arranged to rent The Boat Frida. This one came with bluetooth speaker and it was bigger than the boat Eleni. We paid 100 euros for the boat and 35 euros for fuel. Beutifull beaches around the east coast. Well spent money in my oppinion...

Fantastic Boat Rental Experience with One Glitch Our boat rental experience here was truly fantastic! The booking process was super easy and straightforward. When we arrived to pick up the boat, the staff were incredibly helpful and the instructions they gave us were crystal clear and very thorough, which made us feel confident heading out. We spent an amazing day exploring different hidden beaches along the coast, dropping anchor wherever we pleased, and discovering some absolutely beautiful spots that would have been impossible to reach otherwise. It was an unforgettable way to experience the area! The only significant downside, and something I hope they'll consider clarifying, is the fuel policy. We were told the boat came with 50 liters of fuel, valued at €100. However, when we returned the boat, the fuel gauge was roughly at the halfway mark, and we were simply charged €55 without any clear indication of how much fuel we actually used or if the tank was topped up to measure consumption accurately. It felt a bit opaque, and a more transparent system for calculating fuel usage would definitely improve the overall experience.

Absolutely fantastic experience out on Geronymo while visiting Corfu with family. Both Fontas and his associate were helpful and we got a very comprehensive explanation of where the best places to see are as well as how to stay safe on the boat etc. Reasonably priced for a group boat trip. The highlight of our holiday was being able to visit a little deserted beach but also see the blue caves. Recommend having a snorkel with you if you want to go for a swim and explore under water, as it’s absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend!

Absolutely Outstanding Boat Rental in Corfu! We often rent boats when traveling, but our experience with Fontas Boats in Corfu truly stood out. From the first moment, the team was warm, professional, and attentive, making everything simple and stress-free. The boat was fantastic:spotless, powerful, and incredibly fun to drive. It gave us the perfect balance of speed and comfort while exploring Corfu’s breathtaking coastline and hidden bays. The freedom to discover such stunning spots at our own pace made the day unforgettable. Without question, this was one of the best boating days we’ve ever had. Huge thanks to the Fontas Boats crew for such an amazing experience, we’d recommend them to anyone visiting Corfu!
Katarina S — Google review
Excellent service and standards of boats. Could have asked for more. The price was extremely competitive. We had Bluey with the Bluetooth speaker which added and little extra to the journey. I think the location of the rental makes a big difference with it being south facing and protected from the northern wind and currents it is much smoother and the water is much clearer for exploration and swims. 100% recommended.

Villa Georgios - Agni TRAVEL

Apartment building
Nestled between the charming villages of Nisaki and Agni, Villa Georgios offers a unique escape that beckons travelers with its stunning coastal views. The journey to this villa involves navigating a steep descent reminiscent of a challenging ski run, leading you down to the picturesque Nisaki Bay. This area is rich in scenic beauty and history, with nearby Kaminaki beach accessible via an old concrete path that adds to the adventure.
We have just returned from our stay at Villa Georgios. We were 6 adults & 2 children aged 5 & 3. The villa itself is ver nice with lovely views. The price for having these views means you are VERY high up a mountain.!! the way to reach this villa is a steep incline with 11 bends a lot of them are so sharp you cannot see around the bend and no safety barriers to prevent you driving off the cliffs edge. You MUST HAVE a car, you cannot get groceries without one, yet we were very nervous each time we had to venture out in it. The road is quite narrow and if a car is coming towards you then just hope they are competent enough to reverse back & find a place to pull over !! This was a big let down ! we booked last minute and never realised this info beforehand . The BBQ was disgustingly filthy we couldn't use it. The local shops ( supermarkets) are very friendly & helpful, one of them delivered some meat to us on a moped. The maid that came in to clean was very helpful and did a good job, due to Covid she only came in once. The pool man came so early in the mornings that we never saw him. We also had a wasps nest near the pool when we arrived !! we were plagued with them the first few days. This took many calls but eventually they removed it for us and the number of wasps greatly declined. still got a few, plus mosquitos are always around so you need a good repellent. We will not be returning to this area again but we love Corfu and the weather was great.

Public beach
Kaminaki Beach is a picturesque and hidden gem located on the verdant northeastern coast. The beach features clean pebbles, clear water, and sunbeds with umbrellas available for rent. Visitors can enjoy the sound of waves mixing with rolling stones in the water, creating a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The area is known for its small tavernas offering delicious seafood and stunning views of the landscape.
A pretty steep road takes you down to this peaceful secluded haven. There is a Seafood Taverna which is excellent, and you can hire Sun Loungers & Parasols for the day, and a Boat Hire place too which has little motorboats, Kayaks and paddle boards. The beach is shingle so kind of like walking across Lego, so bring some swim shoes as the sea is glorious!
Philippa N — Google review
We absolutely loved this beach. It was the only one without crowds — spacious and very clean. Even at midday, you could easily rent sunbeds and an umbrella (€20). There’s an incredibly delicious taverna nearby, as well as a toilet and parking (€5). Out of all the beaches we visited, this one was our favorite. Highly recommended.
Darina M — Google review
Gorgeous beach with two tavernas but still peaceful. You can hire two sunbeds with an umbrella for 20 euros for the entire day and park a little way up the hill for 5 euros for the day. The Blue Wave taverna is absolutely stunning with terraces overlooking the bay - look for the signs and you will find it tucked away. They are very friendly and you can hire a sun bed for a day and have cocktails or enjoy a meal. The seafood restaurant is not very friendly but always appears very busy, but it is right on the beach. Snorkeling here is great. There are rocky outcrops with fish hiding away and even in the shallows it is teeming with fish. You can hire a motorboat or kayak or paddle board here too from Kaminaki Boat hire. Very good value and fantastic service. You can walk from the beach to another cove just round the corner along a beautifully tended path.
Ruth R — Google review
Fabulous little pebble beach, excellent for snorkelling - down some very steep roads so be sure to have some ooomph in your vehicle on the way back up! Use the little car park for €5 per day, you can’t park further down (the man will probably come out to you to tell you where to park and take payment) The beach has sunbeds for hire at €20 for the day (for 2 beds and an umbrella) - but we brought our own umbrella and found an empty spot on the beach to the northern end where the boat hire is located. The water is crystal clear as there isn’t any sand, the fish can be found in abundance along the rocks. There is a small path that leads along from the north side of the beach around to the next, much larger beach. Along this path there are two or three places you can jump into the sea from - highly recommend end to bring a snorkel and mask - as there is a lot to see! The beach drops off to depth quite quickly, so you soon get into cooler water - but also, be careful with smaller non-swimmers! The whole family loved this beach and the best snorkelling so far in Corfu!
Matt S — Google review
Beautiful little bay with pebbles. Be sure to take your umbrella because there is public beach space. Also paid parking 150 meters above the beach (5 euros all day). You must visit
Andi P — Google review
Such a beautiful beach! A small bay, quiet and feels intimate. We visited when it was a bit cloudy, so not a lot of people and the sunbeds were 90% free. We put an umbrella, two towels and enjoyed the big waves. The beach has slightly bigger pebbles than others, so bring seashoes. Maybe not the best for little kids. There is a restaurant nearby, but we did not eat there so idk the prices. There are no public toilets or changing rooms here. You can park 5 min away, for 5 euros all day, or find street parking for free.
Natali S — Google review
Great little spot has a small track running along so parking is ok, has a pebble beach with good access to the water, The water dips off quiet quickly, has a Rocky outreach good for snorkeling,
Nick B — Google review
Very abrupt way down from the main road. The water is not only with pebbles but with big rocks too. Felt risky inside the water because of sudden big rocks and quickly deep water.

Located in the charming village of Nissaki, Mitsos Taverna boasts a delightful terrace that provides breathtaking views of the sea. This authentic Greek eatery prides itself on serving delectable cuisine made from only the freshest ingredients available. Positioned on Nisaki beach, this restaurant has become a popular choice among locals due to its prime location on the North East part of the island.
This is a wonderful spot - sitting on the terrace surrounded by the sea was a bliss. Everything we ordered was delicious. The local corfiot greens were very interesting - herby and bitter, would really recommend it. Shrimp saganaki was a treat, very creamy. My favorite was the grilled octopus with fava bean puree and caramelized onions, absolutely delicous. Great service - very friendly and attentive staff and the food arrived quickly. The other reviews report some bad experiences so we were hesitant to go here but we were very happy both with the service and the food. Maybe they cannot deal with a large amount of customers during the high season? Would recommend this place for the atmosphere alone, it was very nice just sit and listen to the waves and watch the water.
Dominika N — Google review
Tasty food and great service and you get a lot of food for your money. A good stop off point when travelling by boat. The staff were really helpful and friendly.
Melita L — Google review
Had a wonderful experience for dinner here. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, while the food was delicious. Had some lovely local olives and some tzatziki to start with mojitos. Then for main course I had the seafood risotto with sepia ink (€16) it was very good and a steal for that price! My girlfriend had salmon with a kumquat sauce (€20) and it was great. The dish was not on the menu (ask the staff for specials of the day). Strongly recommend this place and applaud their staff!
Antoine L — Google review
Got the Linguini with prawn and it was delicious. The seating on the deck has an amazing view especially during sunset. My only complaint was that there were a lot of wasps, I went in the beginning of August and especially when we were eating they were just swarming our food making it hard to eat. Obviously it’s pretty hard to prevent but it just made the experience not exactly five star worthy.👍
Gemma H — Google review
Very good view, it’s such beautiful frame. There is various choices. I took pasta and my bf took pizza. It was good but not the best dishes ever. But the staff is cool and the service is surprisingly fast. In contrast, the beach which is near is very tiny and there is not plenty of sun beds so it is important arriving early, the price of the Sun beds is 4€.
Jeanne N — Google review
Beautiful spot right next to the ocean. Pasta and eggplant was really good. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend the pizza. Great service and fair prices. There’s a small beach right next to it.

We spent 2 weeks close to Mitsos and it quickly became our local go-to spot. The location is one of the best on the North East of the island - situated on Nisaki beach, its a perfect eatery for lunch and even better after a shower and dress up for dinner. You're right on the edge of the water and the light around sunset is beautiful. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The menu is typical for the tavernas in the area so tasty and good value. We loved the house rosé!! Highly recommend Mitsos and we'll hopefully return next summer.
Gerard M — Google review
Traditional family, unpretentious taverna with traditional Greeek dishes. Professional and efficient service. We ate wonderful cheese pies and chicken souvlaki with good chips and a salad. The view at sunset was what had brought us here and we weren't disappointed. The really honest waiter returned 10 Euros to us saying we should only pay 45 Euros to include a 10% tip when we had miscounted and given him 55 Euros.

One of the most enjoyable moments in Corfu was finding Yiannis Taverna Krouzeri, a fantastic seafood restaurant situated right by the beach. The establishment offers breathtaking views and serves incredibly fresh and delightful food. The proprietor is exceptionally amiable, personally serving the meals and ensuring safe gluten-free options are available. As a generous gesture upon learning about our long journey, he gifted us with extra virgin olive oil and homemade olive liqueur.
Very slick operation, we were part of a boat trip that rocked up on their shores, the staff were amazing. Really had it down to a tee. I loved the service, absolutely professional but still friendly. The food was a revelation. I'd travel miles to enjoy their cuisine again. In fact my next boat trip if it's not planning on stopping here, I'll stage a mutiny.

A Hidden Gem on the Beach – Simply Perfect! This beachside taverna is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever visited! The water is unbelievably crystal clear – like something straight out of a postcard. Right in front of the taverna, there’s a small dock for boats, which turned into a paradise for the kids who jumped off it endlessly and with pure joy! The food is absolutely phenomenal, especially the fresh fish – hands down the best we had on the entire coast. Everything is prepared with love and care, and the portions are generous with more than fair prices. The sunbeds are free, which is a rare treat, and the people working there are all from the same local family – incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. It truly felt like visiting old friends. We’ll definitely be coming back – this place is a slice of heaven!

We spent the whole day here. The water is Cristal clear out the front. There are fresh water showers and clean toilets to use. The sun beds are free of charge. Just lay around and pop back into the water when you felt like it. Onto the food, the freshest, tastiest red snapper, the most amazing apple pie, and we enjoyed the house rose. The service from The family was warm and attentive. 10/10 a fantastic day well spent, relaxing. Eating and drinking in a magical place 💗

A lovely taverna overlooking the beach, serving excellent fresh seafood. Prices are slightly higher than average, but well justified by the quality of the dishes and the free sunbeds and umbrellas provided for guests.

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST RESTAURANT ON THE ISLAND. - The location is visually perfect. - The service was a different level of friendliness. Everyone who we spoke to were happy, kind, accommodating and efficient. - The family atmosphere was beautiful. - The restaurant is so lovely and warm and inviting. The most important thing… THE FOOD. Oh my god the food is the best thing ever. Get the Kum-quat sauced cheese! It’s amazing. The mackerel was lovely. All the food was incredible. You can’t find a better place (we tried) Well done and thank you for making our evening so special.

Restaurant
Nestled in the charming village of Nissaki, Taverna Dora is a delightful culinary gem that captures the essence of Greek dining. Known for its warm atmosphere and friendly service, this taverna offers an array of traditional dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. Guests rave about their flavorful tzatziki, hearty moussaka, and succulent kleftiko—each dish crafted with care to showcase authentic flavors.
The tavern is really busy at all times, which is great as you know the food is good and fresh. Prices are fair and the portions big. We ordered a mix grill and mousaka, and we were both really happy with what we got. Service was also great, we were served by the boy who did a really good job in spite of his lack of experience. I recommend the place.

Great selection of traditional food, tzatziky was wonderful. Would also recommend the eggplant rolls. Good service, the food was served very fast. You can pay with a card. Very laid back, you can also see some sea from the terrace.

The food was very delicious. We tasted the tzatziki, the mousaka, the kleftiko. The service was very quickly except for the payment (it was a little bit slowly). We can only recommend this restaurant.
Judit G — Google review
The host here was very friendly and welcoming. We had lunch and it wasnt at all busy, maybe because of the heat? The food (chicken and pork souvlaki) was simple and well cooked on a charcoal grill which was fine for me. The prices were not the cheapest but fair enough. Water here doesn't seen to be free, as on the mainland, but a surprise pudding was delivered just when we thought we had finished.
Michael G — Google review
Everything is more or less ok. Good food, acceptable prices, warm owner. Just young guy (son of the owner) seems working just because somebody told him to work. No passion, no love to work and customers.
Tomas K — Google review
Fabulous food, super friendly and great service too. Fish and seafood amazing and homemade dishes were superb especially the moussaka. Do try the meze, ideal as a sharing starter. We ate here a few times and would highly recommend.
Vivian H — Google review
The food is nice, service good and although you are above a relatively busy road you ar provided with a reasonable view. Our group had a pizza (5 stars), whitebait, lamb, prawns and a pasta dish.
Grant S — Google review
Moussaka I had was very greasy, served with chips that seemed to be cooked from the package, not homemade. My partner had sofrito, he said it was okay but nothing special, served with an average rice. Panacotta for dessert was very good {although it was cleared from my table half eaten, had to ask to leave it be} and so was fresh bread with olive oil for a starter, so I'm adding a star for that. The service altogether was strange, the older lady {Dora the owner} seemed genuinely nice, whereas the younger server was on the phone all the time. At the end of the meal we felt rushed out as they were expecting group of 16 people coming in {one hardly cannot overhear the conversation in a small place like that} We paid 39 euro for 2 main dishes and 2 jugs of house wine {drinkable} which is on a pricey side for this region.

Wonderful food and service. We Greek salad and six appetizers. Absolutely delicious. Loved everything. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. My wife states it was amazing.

Went here in the afternoon and was half full, alot of people coming and going in boats which was joyful to see. Especially when you see 3 or 4 nice sized ones. The food was really nice, not sure if it was worth the cost as its an expensive place to eat given other places near by with just as nice a view. If going for a date night or somewhere you want that little extra from your night its worth a visit, they also do water taxis from local areas, that's a nice touch. The service was a little slow and forgot things which they apologised for. Overall a nice experience but having done it once I cant see us going back.

We were recommended Taverna Agni by the lovely team at Spiro’s Boat Hire and arrived by boat. The staff at the taverna kindly helped us dock and immediately offered sunbeds to relax on until the restaurant opened – a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the whole experience. Although we didn’t have a reservation and couldn’t sit right at the beachfront, the service, food, and atmosphere more than made up for it. Everything – from the drinks to the dishes and the attentive staff – was impeccable. The prices are on the higher end, but they absolutely match the quality. We highly recommend booking in advance for a front-row seat to the sea, and without a doubt, this place is worth the visit!

The restaurant was quite empty when we went and had it been busier the atmosphere may have been nicer. As it was, the staff were so attentive it almost felt like they were hovering around us. They were friendly but over attentive. The two meat dishes were too well done for out liking.

So, We went there as it was the closest place to our rental home in Corfu and we loved the food… we ordered a lot, and our 2 year old boy loved the meatball, even though he’s usually very picky which is natural for a kid in his age. Anyways, two days later we returned because he was wanting that meatball dish that he had there but we were not hungry, only he was hungry. He slept during lunch time and naturally when he woke up he was hungry. We told the waiter that we wanted to sit for his meal and that we will be quick (to not occupy the space for just one meal even though there were a lot of empty tables) and the waiter kindly gave us a table. We ordered the meatball rightaway and he was waiting with excitement. Then, another waiter(maybe manager, not sure) came and told us that it is “not a snack place, it is a restaurant” and that he cannot give us only the meatball so he cancelled our order. I was asking him about what the harm was in for our boy to have a meal at that restaurant but he wasn’t really listening. I believe that if it was only one adult and one child, there wouldn’t be any problem in ordering just one dish. But we were 4 in total so he didn’t let us order one thing. So in the end we had to leave and came home to cook a meal for our boy in the middle of the day instead of spending time at the beach. I normally am very calm and don’t get angry easily but in this case I could not wrap my head around about why would it make sense to not let us order just one meal… It was disrespectful and such non sense.

The food was again very good. We were here last year as well. Scallops are good, we have ordered a whole sea bass grilled, was very good. The service is some times sluggish. Atmosphere perfect. Reservation highly recommended.

Excellent food. Taverna Agni has a nice atmosphere, although I think it would have been better had we gone an hour later (8pm instead of 7pm). Service was quick. The menu is expensive for what you get, however the surroundings of the restaurant are stunning. If you do not mind spending a lot for a meal, this is a good option to consider for a meal one lunchtime or dinner.
