GaiaZOO is a modern zoo featuring animals from around the world, an indoor dinosaur park, and a petting zoo. The zoo offers well-planned routes that are easily accessible by foot, wheelchair, or baby prams. Visitors can enjoy various food options at multiple restaurants and ample seating areas throughout the park. The enclosures are spacious with multiple viewing areas, and there are play areas for children. Additionally, there is a large tower to ascend for panoramic views of the surroundings.
I can give this zoo 6 x⭐️ ! End up in Aachen without any entertainment for my toddler child and randomly found this zoo. We had multiple wow moments! Highly recommended!

The park itself is an unbelievably beautiful and one can see that tit was a huge terraforming effort. On the downside, too many animals were missing/sleeping/away/not visible or our timing was off perhaps. A few others were replaced by plastic copies (like snakes / frogs etc.) with a toddler it is an amazing full day activity. It will take you 5 to 6 hours or even hours to cover everything, including one or two meals, and perhaps some playground time
Really nice zoo. Maybe one of the best (together with the Arhem) zoo in the Netherlands. The environment was so natural, green, well preserve and maintained. Just beautiful. The animals were happy, well fed. There are plenty of places to have your own picnic meal. You can buy food as well. Toilets are available and many playgrounds for kids. The parking is 8.50€ per day. The entrance is cheaper in September onwards, but still a bit expensive. Not so many animals but the ones they have are super nice. My favorite area was the giraffes. They have, at least, four or five. Lovely.
I strongly advise to use the Gaia zoo app to navigate the map. Otherwise the zoo paths are entangled.
It's one of the best zoos i have been to! Lots of vegetation and trees for shades. Even on hot days, it cool enough to walk around.
Wide spaces for the animals and lots of small places to look at the animals for children.
Also the food and drinks are good and a lot of variations.
Gaia Zoo has a nice environment, but there are fewer animals than in our own garden. The entrance fee is very high – €28 just for a walk through a pretty park. There are more snack bars and restaurants than animals. Total waste of money for the ticket.
Great place for small children..they have a huge indoor dino inspired playground. It was very crowded when I visited so limited views and small viewing areas. Expensive food &:drinks, but expected..but I thought it was amazing that they had free sunscreen stations 👍🏼😀
I would definitely recommend this place its so good and it has alot of animals alot of nature i would actually recommend to go there during fall when its not too hot or too cold so that you get a good 😌 experience the place is big and since that its one if the biggest Zoos in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 there is going to be alot of people especially tourists its also favorable for kids because there is a play ground not one but many restaurants are inside so be sure to have a good time !

Geweldige ervaring dit eens te mogen doen. Was een super zondag-uitje naar Zuid-Limburg. Wel eist de trap naar boven menig conditie, maar uiteindelijk toch boven gekomen. Het is zeker de moeite waard. Uitzicht is prachtig, daar heb ik van genoten. Wat een mooie omgeving. Verder genoeg parkeergelegenheid op terrein Snowworld. Niet commercieel, indien van toepassing is het aan te raden zelf flesje drinken mee te nemen.

Trap Wilhelminaberg is a hidden gem located behind Snow World, offering steep walking paths, beautiful woods, and a stream running through. Accessible by car or bike from the back of the hill, it's perfect for a few hours of exploration. Climbing its stairs provides an awesome view from the top and serves as a great workout. While it may seem easy at first, after 100 steps you'll feel the challenge.
Quite unknown but very beatufiul park on the back side of the snow world with steep walk paths, very nice woods, stream passing thru and many cozy places to hide and contemplate the nature. Good to arrive with car/bike from the back of the hill and take a few hours walk around.

At first glance you would not expect that this 'mountain' in hilly South Limburg was created entirely by human labour. All the rock that was not coal ended up on the former slag heap of the Wilhelmina State Mine. With long conveyor belts, the stones were poured onto the ever-growing mountain for decades.
Today, this largest remnant of the mining industry is best known for the largest indoor ski slope in the world, a vast climbing park and the longest staircase in the Netherlands. Once you have conquered the 508 steps, you will have an impressive view over the Euregio at 225 meters above sea level.

This place is fantastic!! Great value for money, fun, safe, clean and a blast for a few hours. I ventured taking my parents and sure gave them a run for their money but they both enjoyed themselves and were very happy to overcome their hesitations! The staff were great and adapted all briefings/info and provided the English information and took great care of us. We did the blue route and zip lines and already can’t wait to be back to try the black. Highly recommend!!!

Fun experience & nice staff.
The climbing park has two difficulties, blue and black. Blue one isn't difficult but does make one sweat as they go about it.
Black one has a couple of quite tough parts.
Zipline was fun, and the "alpine coasters" were fun too.

Visited for the outdoor climbing park, it has 2 difficulty levels, and the second one is really challenging and fun! Totally worth the money, you can stay there unlimited, and zip line rides are also included.
Climbing obstacles are great, the blue is very doable and the black gives an extra dimension in regards to heigth. The coaster is a nice addition

Nestled within the vibrant SnowWorld Landgraaf indoor winter sports resort, Hotel Snowworld Landgraaf offers a modern retreat for travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation. Guests can enjoy spacious accommodations with comfortable beds, although some may find the bathroom layout a bit unconventional due to its glass doors that provide little privacy. The hotel boasts an impressive dining experience with delicious meals available for breakfast and dinner at reasonable prices.
Very spacious and well lit rooms. Excellent soundproofing, everything is very clean, and the bathroom and shower are equipped with everything you need: shampoo, shower gel, etc.
It takes just a few minutes to get from the ski slopes to the rooms, and you can reach them from the restaurant (first floor) with a convenient elevator.
Breakfast is served at the Off Piste Self Service (1st floor).
Free parking.
It is certainly a bit more expensive than a hotel in Landgraaf, but the convenience justifies the cost.

Solid 3 stars overall, rooms are decent size with nice modern sink and wooden paneling, a desk, a couch. Sliding door between toilet and shower is a weird but I guess it works. Beds are a little lumpy and walls are thin, but it’s very convenient for a ski weekend. The restaurants are quite good downstairs, and you have instant access to the slopes!
If you book a room at a genuinely good price and your focus is 100% on the snow activities, accepting the room as a purely functional (and somewhat lacking) place to sleep and shower, then it serves its purpose.
The convenience to the slopes is truly unmatched.
However, if room comfort, a good night's sleep, or climate control are priorities for you, the current state of the rooms is a bit disappointing and needs improvements.
Book for the snow, manage your expectations for the room, and aim for a bargain price. You will have a nice trip ;-)
The location is excellent, offering very convenient access to the ski slopes. Sitting in the bar and bistro areas to enjoy food and drinks is pleasant, as you can comfortably watch the skiers. The snacks here are tasty.
We paid €17 per person for breakfast, but the variety was very poor. On multiple days, I noticed that the cucumbers were not washed properly, with soil visible on their skins—this was quite careless. However, the part that disappointed me the most was the condition of the rooms.
When we arrived, the heating system in the hotel was completely non-functional due to a technical issue. Although they provided a heater after we called to report it—which was nice—the overall cleanliness of the rooms was unacceptable. Upon entering the room for the first time, there were clearly visible layers of dust on the floor. Cleaning was scheduled only once every three days, and after returning to the room on the third day, we found that we couldn’t enter because the cleaning staff had inserted the “Do Not Disturb” sign into the card slot. This required us to go back to the reception to get a new key.
Once we managed to enter the room, we found the beds had been made, but the floors were still untouched. Worse, while the duvet was being arranged, additional dust from under the beds had been stirred up and scattered around the room. I called reception again to report this, and they promised to send someone to clean, but even by the next day, no one showed up.
Another major issue was the extremely thin walls. We could hear everything from the neighboring rooms, including conversations.
While the location is very good next to the indoor ski area, the rooms are awful. Beds are noisy, toilet/shower combination is not practical, no proper heating in the rooms, cleaning in every 3 days, tasteless scrambled egg every morning. In short, the hotel itself is creating a very bad experience.
Update: it is getting weirder everyday, the hotel room is full of dirt just after cleaning, dirtier than before.
Update 2: reception and ski center are very much disconnected. The reception sells the wrong tickets (as they don't fully understand the ski center) and you are to blame for buying the wrong tickets.
We booked for 2 ppl and a kid. said the kid was for free. Came to the reception and had to pay amost 45€ extra. The girl in the reception asked ”and where is she gonna sleep?!” instead of informing us. Really bad and not recommended, this hotel really charges extra for nothing!
The flexibility of the hotel is the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I made an error in my booking and booked a night from Tuesday to Wednesday instead from Monday to Tuesday. I discovered this during check-in in Monday at 15:20 (official check-in is 15:00). I asked what are the options, i.e. if it's possible to shift my booking by one day to the front. This was denied with the reason that a room needs to be cancelled 24 hours prior they check-in day. The hotel insisted to pay the wrongly booked night for 126€ (the breakfast was taken off as a "gesture if good will") and offered me to book an additional night for 142€, since they have rooms available. This is from customer friendliness and service point of view a clear desaster. I would have even accepted a penalty of 20€ for the effort of late cancellation. Errors can happen everywhere, I admitted my error and the flexibility offered was zero. It looks more like a rip-off, since the guest in need needs to stay somewhere and this would have been a good opportunity for selling two rooms. I am sorry that I have to give my first bad review ever, but it's the truth.
I really loved this Hotel I came here for 1 day but I really liked it, it is located in a very nice place and it has very good Skypark/Indor Snowcenter where you can sky even wenn you don’t know you can lern with a trainer. I really enjoyed staying here.

Extremely disappointing experience. I booked a stay with confirmed reservation, but when I arrived the hotel was completely closed — no staff, no guests, and no way to check in. No one answered the phone. I had to find another hotel last minute. This place should not accept bookings if it’s not operational. Avoid unless you want stress and wasted time.
A beautiful and quiet location with froiendly and helpful staff. The building is very interesting. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained in our visit. The breakfasts were very good, and the dinner we had was excellent.
We didn't have much time to explore the area but having visited in the autumn I will look forward to arranging a visit in either the spring or summer to find out more.
I really liked this hotel. The lobby is beautiful and clean. The rooms are spacious and you have everything you would need. The bed was large and soft. The only downside I see is that my window was left open and the heating was not on so the room was terribly cold. The bathroom didn't have any heating as far as I could see so taking a shower in the morning is not that nice. One thing that was a bit weird was that the breakfast was at 8 so I was at the door to the restaurant at 7:55 and they wouldn't open the door for us. We had to stand outside in the cold until it was 8:00. I understand but it felt really unfriendly for them to leave us standing in the cold...

The food was great, but they took too long between the dishes.
For example, we had to wait for more than 1 hour between the main course and the one before.
Another issue, l was that they let people smoke just beside the door, so we had to eat smelling smoke more than half of the time.
The location is great, but I will not return.
We had the grand suite for a quiet, romantic getaway and it was great! We planned for a few days of skiing at the nearby indoor ski range to prepare for the upcoming winter season and were looking for a place to stay. Found this hotel right around the corner and i was impressed. The grand suite features a jacuzzi where even LeBron James would fit and a bed that's probably 2m20 long and very, very comfortable.
It's situated just outside of town but it feels like you're in the middle of a forest. We went at the beginning of december so i can't say how summer conditions are but for us it was magical.
We had dinner in the restaurant for one night and breakfast for 2 days and that was great too. I could say something about the prices, but i'm aware that my perception of what's reasonable just isn't realistic anymore. There wasn't a whole lot of choice in the menu, but enough variety to get by.
For sure, we're coming back again to enjoy the outdoors some more with some cycling or walking in the area.
The room was clean and well maintained, staff was very friendly and helpful.
We went there for a wedding and the location is great, service during the event was good and food delicious (even though some items were already a bit cold). But our room was horrible. Not at all what they show on the picture online. Old, tiny, cramped, bathroom stinky, temperature too warm to sleep comfortably. Very disappointed. We booked the breakfast on top and were very much disappointed as well. Just a few items, nothing special, nothing compared to what dinner was like. Service very rushed in the morning.
Last week all our colleagues gathered here for a team building and training session. The location is absolutely beautiful and offers everything for a successful meeting. The kitchen is delicious and our meal was beyond our expectations.
We were able to have a drink at the bar afterwards. we had a great event. Thanks to the entire team.

We had a great evening and dinner. Food was really great and I loved that the dessert was as good as other courses . We went for wine pairing and I was happy there was a Bob option. It allowed me to taste many great wines without being drunk by the end of the evening. We would happily come back!

At the edge of an industrial zone, well hidden in the greens and hills you’ll find this authentic grange farmhouse with a hotel and two restaurants with an Italian cuisine. Although everything is technically really well prepared and artistically presented, I missed coherence in flavors and apparent tones that stand out and carry a plate (eg. my langoustine was accompanied with pieces of grapefruit/lemon that totally broke the palate). My courses were well accompanied with matching wines, including the own grown and created sparkling MullerThurgau. As soon as the restaurant got filled the service, always friendly, had troubles keeping up: our waiting time for the main course was almost an hour. My company was very happy with their choices, especially the spaghetti tartufo was applauded. Not cheap! Maybe because I’m from Amsterdam, but for me the service could loosen up a bit…

There’s free food and it was not hard to find - it was on the map of the park. The free food is ok and there’s also free drinks, which was really nice on a hot day!
The attractions could receive more attention. There many rusts spots, in some places I was almost concerned of the quality of the material.
My kids loved and want to go back there and we might go back.

The park is not at all designed to handle the high numbers of visitors: enormous queues that Efteling does not even have. This undercapacity also undermines the all-you-can-eat concept: waiting 45 minutes for a small bowl of (over)cooked pasta is no exception. Slush puppy machines are defective, empty, or contain syrup that is too warm or ice mass that is too frozen. Most bizarre is the staff at Villa Toscane who repeatedly (!) drops sandwiches on the floor and then without batting an eyelid puts them back on the pile of food offered.
Toilets are not cleaned for hours: poop is on the walls. If you ask the staff for toilet paper, they don't understand you or they can't help you.

HOTEL: I do have to admit the hotel beds were the worst I’ve ever slept in, I’m a 181cm 93kg guy and the single beds were just as “big” as me, leaving me no room to turn around in.
The breakfast on the other hand was TOP-TIER! ✨
All you can eat buffet with a huge variety of food, loved it!

Our kids are doing Ski camp for the first time and I think it’s excellent. The staff is very kind and helpful, and they learn skills that are useful in the future. The price is right also, especially since lunch and snacks are included. Recommended!
Fantastic indoor skiing with real snow. Something for everyone here, a couple of smaller slopes for beginners to learn on with no pressure, and two bigger slopes accessed by a chair lift (the first one I've seen in an indoor skiing place).

Terrible piste condition at 10:00 in the morning and very dirty snow. Sorry to say but compared to Neuss Skihalle, which has clean snow throughout the entire season and freshly prepared piste every day, we are more than disappointed from Landgraaf conditions. The fun park slope was excellent. But one piste was in maintenance and the open one dirty, abgerockt, slow even 1 hour after morning opening. Come on you Dutch guys. You were always the best indoor activity makers. You know how to do better and how to make money with good service.
We visited as a family of four. Booking a development ski lesson for the children and a learner ski lesson for one of the adults. The lessons were great - the children got to try the fun park. The beginner lesson with Christiaan was brilliant. I arrived having had two lessons on a dry ski slope and by the end of my hours lesson I was confidently using both the drag and chair lift and was capable of skiing the no.2 slope unsupervised for the rest of a day, a huge thank you to Christiaan.
After the lessons we skied for the rest of the day - stoping for drinks and food in the restaurant.
We don’t speak Dutch but everyone was incredibly welcome and helpful.
Overall it’s a big recommend from us - for an indoor ski experience this is as good as it gets!
SnowWorld Landgraaf in the Netherlands is the largest Snow Center in Europe.
It is divided into three slopes: the main slope (Red) is 400 meters long, the second slope (Blue) is also 400 meters long, and the Fun Park, mainly used by snowboarders, is 200 meters long.
All slopes are perfectly served by a very fast indoor chairlift.
Of course, there is also a slope for beginners and children, as well as a fun park so there is something for everyone and the right excitement for all tastes.

I started skiing at a very young age, so I know snow very well, and I must say I was incredibly surprised to see the snow surface always perfectly maintained from 8 am. in the morning until 10 pm. Absolutely perfect treatment, with a constant temperature of -7°C.
All the staff inside are very kind and competent, always ready to help anyone in need an excellent service.
For this reason, many ski clubs and ski teams come to train at this center.
This highlights the professionalism and quality of this Snow Center.

The Thermenmuseum is a fascinating gallery that showcases the excavated remains of an ancient Roman bath complex, providing insight into life in the region during Roman times. The museum is located in Heerlen, which was once a settlement named Coriovallum hosting a bathhouse. The town experienced significant growth during the Middle Ages due to coal mining and is now part of the larger project city called Parkstad Limburg.
One of the best museum experiences I've ever had. They give you an audio tour(available in English, German, and Dutch, maybe other languages too) which you use to scan tags that are scattered around the building. When you do that, a lot of the exhibits come alive via 3D mapping and other cool tech. The Roman bath itself has a bridge going over it and as you go through, the audio guide highlights different areas of the bathhouse, with the projector showing you how they would have looked in real time. It's a super cool and modern experience that every other museum should strive to have. I would give it more stars if I could. The staff was super friendly as well, very recommended.
