Museum
Specialty Museums
The Corinium Museum in Cirencester, also known as Corinium, houses a significant collection of Roman artifacts. The town was once a major Roman settlement and the museum showcases reconstructed rooms, interactive displays, and videos that bring this era to life. Among its highlights are stunning floor mosaics, including a 4th-century depiction of Orpheus charming animals and a 2nd-century Jupiter column.
Popped in with the family after checking out the market and shops. Friendly staff and the reception area is well presented. Toilets are on site but a bit tucked. The amount of Roman history is outstanding. There are two floors to cover with plenty to see and read. There is also a rolling interactive display with several short stories to choose from. The tickets are all day so if you wish to pop back later you can do so.

Excellent exhibits with great educational elements! The whole family enjoyed it. The people were very informative as well.
Sheila Y — Google review
I told one of the staff that the mannequins looked too real and were a bit scary, and then she kindly showed me around the exhibition and told me some stories. All the staff were so nice and helpful, and I learned a lot about the history of Cirencester. It’s one of my loveliest memories in Cirencester. Thank you very much!
Traveling P — Google review
Made the mistake of "bigging" the Corinium up in my mind before entering. Big mistake. It could never live up to what my (former) drug addled brain could imagine and when you've taken as many hallucinogens as I have in the past I was expecting to be mugged by an iron age thug or Roman centurian around every corner. It's a museum and is full of museumy things from the past. Daft thing to write as I've yet to visit a museum which looks to the future. Thought it was a tad pricey even though I got the crinkley discount. The staff were nice in the extreme. They put up with the mouthy northern one (me) without banning me from returning at some point. I hope they've forgiven me for leaving my 'up the boro' message before I departed.
Bill R — Google review
An excellent museum with some quite beautiful mosaics and engaging history of Cirencester over the millennia. Let down by some sloppy attention to detail with their timeline boards. Guy Fawkes' assassination attempt was a year later and Edward VII was crowned a whole 3 years before.
Jeremy A — Google review
This is a super museum, primarily for the Roman period but others as well. I spent 2 hours there and didn't properly see it all. Very helpful staff too. Well worth the visit.
Dàvid T — Google review
Interesting museum primarily about their authentic Roman collection. Not a large museum, I would say that 1 hour will be enough to walk around. There is a free art gallery next door. Adult tickets were £7.90. We visited during a weekday so it was relatively quiet. We parked at the nearby Old Station car park and it was only a few minutes walk.
Jan-Fei L — Google review
Very impressed with this museum which unfortunately- I just did not have the time to "do" it properly. It is an educational centre as well & good ol' me actually does like it this way - where origin, history & heritage is clearly labelled & tells a continuous story of this area to the relatively modern era. The Roman mosaics, burials, sound & light projections & the recreated neolithic/stone age dwelling etc added to an immersive experience. Sadly I just had to whizz through it all in an hour before closing time. Do give it the time this museum deserves. I visited on Thurs, late Sept 24. Very quiet & thankful the school kids were not around! 😉😁

Cirencester Park, located in the heart of town as part of the Bathurst Estate, offers a variety of activities for visitors. It is open to walkers and horse riders and hosts hunting/fishing and country shows. The park features dining options such as Sam and Jak's, Amore Mio, and Roots + Seeds, offering a range of cuisines from modern British to Italian with locally sourced ingredients.
Beautiful views of the town from this park and quite nice to just walk around. Not much else to do but still could be worthwhile if you're in town for a day or two.
Yogen M — Google review
Massive! Good for a very long walk but all very spread out. Map is deceiving. Young kids would like the fairy trail. Cafe was really pricey. You have to pay to get in too.
Zoe A — Google review
One hour free, then pay to park, disabled spaces and charging for electric vehicles. A dog wash, and toilet by the entrance. A defibrillator by the restaurant. Lots of people enjoying the October sunshine eating outside. Plenty monuments and sculptures around the large estate area. We were given a handy map upon entry. The grounds could have had a few more markers to say where we were whilst walking. £4 really isn't a great deal to spend when visiting here, very nice, will visit again.
E C — Google review
I understand that an entrance fee of £4 for adults was introduced this year, that could explain the lack of people when we visited,it is a great place to walk your dog,it is vast and lacks places to sit and rest in the woodlands, also not allowing bikes in to me is a big mistake,a park that size would be great to explore on a pushbike, actually a bike hire company on site cools be a better money stream
Robin B — Google review
Had a lovely day out in Cirencester. Beautiful town and park. Very expensive but had a lovely day.
Tracey K — Google review
A nice well-maintained park. Needs better signposting - although we had a map, we took the wrong path and ended up a mile outside the park. Would have given 5 stars, but on our second visit there was extensive maintenance works and half the dog off-lead track was closed. This wasn't mentioned at the ticket booth or anywhere else. We only visited so the dog could run free.
Tim W — Google review
I’ve visited here a number of times recently. It is a private park and you obtain a pass to enter. It is a lovely well kept parkland area with plentiful walks and various statues. It is dog friendly and they are positively encouraged being a lovely peaceful walk into Cirencester

Park
Abbey Grounds Park is one of the must-visit sites in Cirencester, offering a serene and peaceful environment to unwind after exploring the town. The park features a playpark and a river where visitors can enjoy watching ducks. It also holds historical significance as it was once the site of the Augustinian Abbey of St Mary, which thrived during Medieval times due to the wool trade. Additionally, visitors can explore other nearby attractions such as St.
Lovely park. Lots of interesting features and trees and plenty of wildlife about thanks to the nearby lake. Some parts of the path get quite water logged bur easy enough to walk around.
Exeter T — Google review
Such a lovely part of Cirencester, some lovley trees, a play park for the children. A lake with benches nearby, a duck feeder, such a nice idea. The park is also home to the free Phoenix Festival.
E C — Google review
Beautiful small park with a flat, circular walk. Interesting 'ice house' archaeological feature. Wildlife aplenty to spot. Love it and visit frequently. Toilets are newly updated and much nicer to use. Right by town centre too, so easy to grab lunch.
B J — Google review
Came across park as I’d sheltered in church from the rain. I was pleasantly surprised at the green oasis right in the middle of Cirencester. Dogs are allowed to run off lead on the grassed area and there are numerous seats facing the lake to rest.
Ann B — Google review
Beautiful place and very peaceful. Full of history
Ganesha C — Google review
This is a beautiful place with a picturesque view from all angles. A lake full of water birds lots of grass, benches places to sit and soak up the views. Flowers poppies wild flowers trees and most importantly a clean tidy park to enjoy. The Abbey Grounds Park is my favourite kind of place with lots to see and loads of space to walk and sit with a picnic or walk the dog. Plus a great outdoor learning play area for youngsters. 👍
Tray N — Google review
An enormous green space with some flowerbeds and many trees. Dogs north of the water must be on a lead, but south of it, apparently not. Signs are many, officious and threatening and occasionally conflicting. Popular place in warm weather, there's also a kids playground at the north end.
David W — Google review
Such a beautiful park, lots of open space, a lake with ducks/swans and a woodland area. When visiting Cirencester (Oct ‘23) this park was a beautiful place to walk with the dogs in the early evening! Historical Roman Town wall and Roman Abbey remains to view too!!

Cotswold Water Park Hire is a fantastic destination for water sports enthusiasts, offering an array of activities on its expansive lakes. With experienced staff ready to assist, visitors can rent kayaks and canoes to navigate the stunning shorelines and observe local wildlife, including various waterfowl. The facility boasts ample parking, clean amenities, and options for open water swimming throughout the year.
I visited the Lake 86 Cotswold Water park back in June 2023, it was my first time kayaking. I went with a friend, we had already booked a time slot and double kayak boat. Both of us had no experience of what to do, but we figured out how to row. It was for an hour and we thoroughly enjoyed. Will again do it next summer.

Thank you Nathan for such a fun-filled session! We are a family of 3 with two of us being absolute SUP beginners. Nathan has been a brilliant instructor and taught us the basics. We thoroughly enjoyed the session, with lots of laughs landing in the water and showing off our cool paddle-boarding moves! Hoping to come back again in the future.

It was very easy to book on their web site, they were great with my boys who had never Kayak before, my youngest had to share with me, being only 7yrs. Well priced and very good fun. 😊

Great experience Kayaking. Easy to book, good value. 1 hour Kayaking is more than enough time. There is plenty of parking and a cafe on site.
Charvelle C — Google review
Love this place, its the whole package. Plenty of parking, changing rooms, clean(!) portaloos. You can hire kayaks and paddleboards, or you can bring your own. PAYG or membership. Also have open water swimming options too. Throughout the year they do timed swims, moonlight paddles/swims and I think paddleboard yoga too? Website will have all the details no doubt. Really friendly team of people who work here, have been coming to them for over 5yrs now. Really recommend!

Coffee shop
The Jacks coffee shop is a great place to go for a cup of tea or coffee. They have a wide range of menu items, making it great for brunch or lunch. The service can be variable, but is usually friendly. It can get really busy in the cafe, so make sure to book ahead if you want to be able to sit down.
The best Macha latte in the UK! The staff were so sweet, offering me some syrup to put into my matcha latte, as most matcha lattes I drank in the UK before were too bitter. I was a bit disappointed when I looked at the all-green salad as I overlooked the menu, I thought they had a bit of meat / bacon for decoration, but their ingredients surprised me. The grapes and pickled celery are amazing, matching the Parmesan cheese, and it’s filling as well, so I will definitely order this again and recommend it to my veggie friends. We sat outside the café to have our food, enjoying the street view of the city. Ordering a chocolate cake with a little bit of dry raspberry on top for take-away. It’s gorgeous and has the right amount of sweetness. Definitely visit again when I am in Cirencester!
Jihon W — Google review
What a lovely, lovely place to stop and have a bite and drink at! We visited Cirencester on a weekend and looked for places to have a brunch and it blasted our brains with tasty and hearty food. On top of that the staff is friendly and professional and the place itself is stylish and bigger than it seems.
David A — Google review
Nice atmosphere, but unfortunately this overgrown “bush” on my toast tasted quite odd, more like lawn clippings than avocado toast. The matcha also tasted very bitter and seems of poor quality. My partner’s pot of tea was weak and only filled up a little more than a cup. Came here for the vegan options, but it was sadly a disappointment.
Tinya C — Google review
Stopped by on a Friday for lunch and ordered “The Donald”, which was duck confit served with a fried egg on a waffle, made with croissant pastry dough, and a truffle sauce. To my surprise, it was one of the most perfectly cooked duck legs I’ve had! Perfectly moist, with crispy thin skin and fall off the bone meat. I will come back regularly just for this. The waffle was good but not sure if it went well with the duck though.
Alex W — Google review
THE BEST BREAKFAST! Visted Ciren for the first time and headed to Jack's for brunch without knowing anything about it. I had Jack's scrambled eggs on Sourdough break which was absolutely delicious and my fiancée had a egg and bacon bap, both with cappuccinos. Coffee was delicious, food was incredible, location and atmosphere was amazing. Absolutely nothing to fault, nothing! We will be making the hour and a half trip again just for the breakfast.
Tom G — Google review
Lovely place, beuatiful! Amazing brownie and very good lattes! Found a little gem in Cirencester 🥰 They have a couple of GF options (lemon drizzle and brownie).
Gemma T — Google review
I dined in after quite some time and while my previous experience wasn’t as stellar, I was pleasantly surprised today. Despite it being a busy Sunday, the food arrived promptly and at the right temperature. There was a slight delay in receiving the sauce and drinks but overall, I had a lovely experience. Need small attention to detail from service.Iwill certainly consider returning in the future.
BCWONDERER — Google review
I don't have a problem with dogs per se, but please remember it's the people who pay the bill, so I don't expect to have dogs sniffing round my legs while I'm eating, or see them putting their mouth on a table. Also, I'd expect the staff to have some idea of food hygiene. If you've just been giving a dog treats, then please wash your hands before you serve my food. If you've ever been hospitalised by food poisoning, you become keenly aware of poor hygiene practices.

Great place to be. Excellent food, great service. Also the walk around the lakes helps too. We haven't been there for 10 years and it has changed alot! It's like a small food village, also outdoor shop with clothes. Highly recommend this place!!!!

Lovely dog-friendly 🐕 café on a lake 🌾 Just don't repeat my mistake—don't DIY your breakfast... I got 1 slice of bacon, a toast, and a huge pot of smashed avocado 🥑 😅
Kate Z — Google review
Ordered to take away, was really excited to know we could do that here and buy a whole range of options. However, the food standard was terrible. I think if you can ruin a jacket potato it says a lot. (The only place I've seen that happen in hospital). The potato was so unpleasant, we only ate the insides and the tuna mayonnaise. The salad was tired and brown edged, the beans also ruined (how?) watery and the taste was very odd/horrible. I'm baffled as to how you ruin A topped jacket potato. Most of it went in the bin. I've had fish goujons and chips there before and the chips were nice, but the fish tasted off and was very dried out. My friend's burger was OK, so there's still hope. I think it's great to employ young people and students etc. but if there's no one experienced supporting them and keeping motivation and care at the forefront, you end up with poor standards. Such a shame!
K S — Google review
I really love THE PIZZA from The Gateway Cafe!!! Service was superb- nice polite, friendly and made no problems when I asked to put jalapeno from my husband pizza on to my pizza instead. Waiting time was not long. Napkins are normal noce soft napkins not tiny brown paper - what I like. I took a stars because there were no nice place to sit - outside available table was broken. Was also windy so we went under gazebo. Inside - under a gazebo 100% not nice. I mean there are a lot of tables and chairs but it is arranged in not a very welcoming way. Tables were not clean and indoor area really need some nice touch- it is funnky, undeground atmosphere -what I get it, but was messy for me. ... but pizza and service was amazing 🍕 so truly recommend this place. Prices are ok £9 for a small pizza and £14 for big a pizza.... (for 2 small and one big pizza we paid £32, served in a take away box)- judge yourself.

Great food. Quick service. Lovely building with lake view. Dog friendly and free parking

A great view over the lake, which was perfect whilst eating brunch outside with our dog Luna. Close by are shops and lovely lakeside walks. Nearby water sports as well.
Nicki M — Google review
Positive is the location and setting. Lovely to sit in or out overlooking the lake. Negatives are that the coffee is bad, very bitter, not enjoyable and whatever oat milk they use it is not good. It's a large building and is nearly always busy, so a nice atmosphere. However, this is spoilt by the music playing too loudly. Music is really not needed!

Restaurant
The Crown is a charming local pub located in the picturesque village of South Cerney, nestled in the Cotswolds. This traditional hostelry offers a menu of classic pub-style dishes and a variety of real ales. The establishment also features live music, TV sports, and a bustling courtyard garden that can be accessed via Swan Yard. With its historical significance dating back to Charles II's escape from the building in 1651, The Crown exudes character and charm.
Spent a couple of hours here today for lunch, the staff were all very friendly and the whole team were working tirelessly, all doing a bit of everything. Lady (assume was the manager) was running a very efficient service. We were seated up at the back near the garden doors. Food is delicious, could see the chef cutting fresh veg as orders came in. Very reasonably priced for decent portions. Clean and tidy venue. Very impressed.

Josh was fantastic and was a charmer!! He was so help-full with our weird dietary requests as we were both starving at this point ( me and my mum) We had a vegan panini, a pie and a extra salad with a large glass of wine and tap water :) He made the visit worth while so thank you sir we had a lovely time at the pub! 🏳️‍🌈

We were doing the tourist thing in town, when my super-spouse suggested that we find a pub -- not a restaurant, not an eatery, definitely not a fast-food joint. Mike, the neighborhood security guard, recommended The Crown. Good choice. SS (a Bristol native) commented on the authenticity of her steak and ale pie more than once. I went with a more absurd choice, a Southern-fried chicken burger (I'll attach a photo) -- and it was delicious. For adult bevs, we went with a Stowford cider (for her), a Belt Driver IPA (for me), and a Hugo-something Spritzer (my memory fails on that one, but it was tasty). I'd go back!

Stumbled across The Crown looking for a place to eat, and I'm glad we decided to go in. The staff is Friendly and attentive, and the place has a great atmosphere. Ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats and the food that arrived was laughable, their hot dogs are the same size as a thumb, the chicken burger looked like a chicken nugget and there were roughly around 20 chips in each box. Don’t be deceived by their websites photos as they are far from the truth.

Such a cool restaurant. They change the menu all the time so we went when they had sushi. The night we went their liquor license had expired so we were able to bring our own drinks which was also great! But normally they have a full bar. They also have games to play and this created a great atmosphere as people wanted to get involved with the game we were playing! Will definitely be back to try a new menu but the sushi was amazing!

A bar with a compact menu of beef and chicken burgers. The smashed beef burgers were really tasty. Perfect size, great flavours and excellent chips on the side. The chicken burgers looked as good as the beef ones, you can't really go wrong with all the interesting options on the compact menu, it's all good. The beers on draft were fresh, tasty and had some interesting options. The music in the background was excellent, the service is friendly and energetic and there are also deck chairs outside. It's a great place for a tasty burger and a lovely cold beer.

No photos as we tucked straight in however the food was really lovely. As a group of 6 visiting the Cotswolds on holiday, we decided to try this place following a google search & going on recent reviews. We had 3 mains which consisted of 2 different burgers meals, a chicken & bacon pasta dish, pulled pork loaded fries & a mixture of sharing platters. We were welcomed by an accommodating member of staff from the off. The place is dog friendly & on seating were given a bowl of water & treats for them. Only downside was that service was a little slow (not sure if this was due to offering takeouts too or being understaffed) however we were in no hurry & would definitely return if we visited again!

Amazing staff, everyone was super friendly. Great food options burgers (beef, chicken, veggie) and wings on one side and Indian on the other side of the menu. We ordered burgers and drinks. Looks like a great spot for a afternoon coffee, right on the corner. The chicken was a little undercooked but we haven’t gotten sick yet..

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Waterside Kitchen & Bar, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Cherry Lakes. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Waterside Kitchen & Bar is a warm and inviting restaurant located next to Walters Lake at Cotswold Waterpark. It offers a diverse menu featuring international dishes, including delicious Japanese options. The restaurant has a lovely decor and outside tables for guests to enjoy the scenic views of the lake. It's also known for being kid-friendly, with activities for children and a well-crafted kids menu.
One of my favourite places, I’ve been SO many times. The staff are amazing, the food is fantastic and fresh. My go to place for sushi and high end dishes. Special occasion or just a cute meeting place, definitely worth the visit. The cocktails are brilliant as well as a bristling wine selection, and the soft drinks selection means you won’t feel out! They have outdoor pods you can book which are nice and private!

This was the 4th time we have dined here and the food is consistently good. Despite there being 17 of us, service was quick and efficient. Being a large group we shared pretty much all the dishes on the menu. All were really good - the scallops and sushi deserve a special mention. Good range of drinks and cocktails, plenty of outside space too. The only improvement that could be made would to have a couple of fans in the conservatory area. It can get a bit warm there!

What a wonderful little find!! Amazing food, beautiful quality with fantastic service to boot!! We had a mixture of small plates and sushi, good portion sizes and well priced. We will be back, I can't wait to try the rest of the menu and see the venue in the daylight.

Very warm and welcoming staff, food was exceptional - we had the Goan prawn and squid curry which was one of the best curries we've had. Chicken karaage was cooked to perfection. We were coming from De Vere which is a 3 minute drive away and the prices here were more pocket friendly in comparison and well worth the escape.

Delicious food here! The food was great, sitting outside was very pleasant in this weather and the service was smooth and very pleasant. Ate curry fries for the first time, and many vegetarian options. It is Asian tapas, so shared dining and you take 2-3 dishes per person. We did this in two rounds, so that you could adjust how much you wanted in the second round. Recommended!

So glad we visited this wonderful restaurant. The staff were absolutely brilliant, smiles on their faces and so lovely. The food was such a suprise to me, absolute game changer. I've had lots of Japanese food in Vancouver but this was better. The beer was also floorless, not to mention the beautiful waterside location. Xxx

This place was recommend to me by a friend and what a treasure it is. Customers service excellent freshly cooked food and a lovely seating inside and another area outside in the flowered garden. Price's very reasonable for such good service and food. Full breakfast menu until 12 o'clock. Just look for the pink signs off the spine road near holiday caravan park.

Jennie’s Kitchen is incredible. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the vibe was like stepping back into my grandma’s house. The music, the smell, the smiles, and animals! I also ordered the coffee cake, and it was the best i’ve ever had, the cake was perfect and I could’ve eaten the icing with a spoon. All homemade. Definitely worth a visit, best breakfast I’ve had in a long time.

I took my mum here for coffee and cake and we would certainly return. I had the most delicious gluten free fruit crumble. Lovely atmosphere and while we sat indoors, the garden looked so appealing. A special mention to the staff here, so friendly, polite and welcoming, we look forward to returning here in the future. You could tell that this is a popular place to visit so id recommend booking in advance 😊.

We stopped by for breakfast sandwiches before a 4 hour trip home, delicious and filling sausage and egg butties all round! Really friendly staff and great quality food! We will be back next time we visit the beautiful Cotswolds!!

Very friendly welcome when we arrived. The Saxon breakfasts were hot, well presented and of good quality. The waffles and bacon were lovely too. The coffees were well presented & cute! £35 for three breakfasts and 3 coffees seemed good value to me. A beautiful setting with pretty garden to sit in if the weather is kind and dogs are welcome. Oh and the alpacas and rescue donkey are a delight!

Went here twice during our stay at the cotswold water Park, first time was fine great service with great food, had a sausage and egg bap with a hot chocolate, the 2nd time I had the same and I was drinking my hot chocolate and tasted something funny thought it was a bit of chocolate mix that hadn't been dissolved properly got curious and took it out of my mouth and it turned out to be a dead wasp, unhappy with this as this place was excellent for the food disappointed about this as if I had bitten into the stinger then I would've gone back and complained, be aware as I don't think they properly check their food and drink before serving, I had this as a takeaway. Service was good and atmosphere was calming.

Customers praise the exceptional service and well-maintained bikes that ensure a safe and enjoyable cycling experience.
Rented a gravel bike for the morning. Was well prepared and ready to go when I arrived. Good selection of routes available on the Komoot app - would have been nice to have these on a gps unit but watch and phone combo got me around. Routes include suggestions for places to stop for refreshments. Well stocked shop, friendly/helpful staff. Likely to come back next time I’m staying in the area.

We rented e-bikes and had a great time touring around the Cotswold's- though we only did a small portion of the villages by bicycle we were very happy to have the e-power- those hills! It was a beautiful way to see the area and the guys at Discovery were helpful, but not pushy in any way which was a relief. We did find the app difficult to download and use if you aren't on local network and as we are out of country would recommend downloading before getting to the shop. Also no phone holder on the bike made it clunky at the beginning, but we eventually figured it out. Super fun way to get around. Highly recommend.
Pita K — Google review
Fantastic Experience – Highly Recommend! Hiring the e-bikes was a really easy and smooth process. We booked for 3 hours (you can hire for the whole day if you wish) which was just right for exploring at a relaxed pace. The bikes were simple to understand after a quick explanation at the start, very user-friendly, even if you’ve never tried an e-bike before. Staff amazing and very helpful. We’ve haven’t been on a bike or riding for 20+ years, and found the paths gentle, forgiving, and perfect for a scenic and enjoyable ride. After the first 10/20 minutes I got the hang of it and felt more balanced. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish, we’d definitely go back and do it again! It’s also so close to all the Cotswold lakes and eating and drinking places so easy to stop somewhere.

Have recently had an issue with my 4 month old Giant Defy. Initially took it to a cycle shop in Swindon, however after a week I collected the bike out of pure frustration at the lack of progress. Called Discovery Cycles on Friday and had the bike booked in with them the following Monday. Had a call Monday lunchtime to advise that the bike was repaired. The team at Discovery Cycles are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Great service. Thank you for resolving the issue with my bike.

Really please with the level of service from Discovery Bikes. I took my 2021 hardtail trail bike to them for a full gold service. The bike came back spotlessly clean, they were proactive in replacing items which were going to need to be done (I'd mentioned that I needed it for a race so I was pleased they took this approach because they guaranteed the bike was ready) and even addressed some small niggles after so I was and am really pleased with Discovery and would definitely continue to use them. Thank you all! Look forward to seeing you again.

Deciding against the burden of traveling with my own bike from the States, I rented a gravel bike for my Cotswolds trip and was very pleased with the one from Discover. The shop is a nice full-service operation right next to a pleasant café. And a shout-out to Charlie and the guys at Discover – they clearly know their stuff (and probably where to get a good cuppa next door!)

Mike was extremely helpful, fixing the crank on my bike at short notice on sunday. My weekend was saved by this and had the best experience ever from a cycle shop. Would highly recommend Discover Bikes.
James B — Google review
Very disappointed, visited on the weekend while camping in the Cotswold to see if they could replace the snapped chain on my e-bike, young guy said no problem we will have to order it in, it will be with us on Tuesday. Pushed the bike over a mile to the shop, to be told it would take up to a week and would I like to leave the bike with them. I hightailed it out of there and got the chain replaced that same day with Velotune at Hampton Meysey.

Fantastic lake in a great location. Jake and the gang were brilliant. I hadn't skied in 18 years and Jake was patient, funny, helpful, and entertaining with my kids all while driving the boat. Couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Thank you, we'll be back.

I booked a 20 min session because it's been a while since I last skied. The boat driver and the whole team were professional and very encouraging. They made me feel at ease while also making sure I was safe and fully equipped with all the gear to have a wonderful ski session. All in all a very good experience that I will be repeating very soon. They also have a onsite cafe/restaurant which is very good value and serves tasty food and hot&cold drinks

First visit to Lakeside ski with my nephews today and it certainly won’t be our last. Started the day here and all the children could talk about all day was the amazing fun they had in the inflatables. Jake was absolutely fantastic with the children, patient and so engaging with them. Which in itself was remarkable when he was working flat out but seemed passionate about making the experience from start to finish first class. After going along to aqua adventure afterwards all the children wanted to do was to have another go on the yellow inflatable 😂 which meant we had to pop back after the beach lake on the off chance there was another space. I don’t often write reviews but if you are thinking about going - stop thinking and book. I’ve had to promise the children wake lessons next time. So lucky to have this in our doorstep.

We did the beginners waterski session! Had so much fun despite the weather. Everyone was very nice & our instructor Dan was very professional and good at educating us / talking through everything with us. Nice lake to learn on, would deffo recommend for beginners! Feel like I want to take it up regularly now - was a lot easier than I expected.

Having never waterskied before to (mostly) being able to stand up on the skis within 20 minutes is a great testament to their skills as instructors. Very patient and calm, very enjoyable starter lesson. Lake seemed clean, boat well maintained and the on-site brasserie provides a handy viewing deck.

Great at driving and coaching, son, daughter and I all picked up some great tips from you both. Thank you also for the extra info Jaydon on purchasing a wake board much appreciated.

Guests rave about the exceptional hospitality from the owners, who are always on hand to provide assistance or fishing tips. The fishing experience here is nothing short of thrilling; many visitors have successfully caught impressive carp, including some weighing over 30 pounds!
3rd time here at Cherry Lakes, great 4 days fishing. Stayed in Kingfisher lodge, which is lovely with a lake to yourself. Caught everyday with Carp to 24lb 12oz. Fish are in top class condition. Simon was fantastic and very helpful with great tips and assistance from the boat 😎. Will definitely be back for more!!.. highly recommended.

Amazing carp venue! 3 of us fishing Cherry Mere had an awesome time. Just shy of 40 fish in a week, all achieving PBs. 2 x 30s and 15 x 20s. Really good setup and would recommend to everyone! 👌

Another lovely break at one of our favourite places to fish. We stayed in Heron Lodge on the main lake this time, which is to the same high standard as all the others. Fishing was also a success, 4 beautiful carp, the largest being nearly 33lb. Thanks to Dave and Mike who are always available if you want any advice/help. We will certainly be back.

I took my family to stay in the Cottage at Cherry Lakes in the 2nd week of July (Mon - Fri). We had a great week. We had our two year old son with us who really seemed to have a good time too. The facilities are fantastic, and email communication with Mike / Simon and the team was all very easy and efficient. On the fishing front, don’t be deceived in thinking this is an easy lake. I was fortunate to catch ten carp throughout our stay, topping off with a nice 35lb mirror. I had the rods out for only part of the day (mainly morning and evenings) to spend time with family during the day, and I think it actually helped to rest the swim. As with most things, you get what you pay for. I will be back at some point in future and would recommend Cherry Lakes without hesitation.
Sam A — Google review
Just finishing my second trip to Cherry lakes and this time was even better than the first visit. I had 2no 30lb + mirror carp within 6 hours of arriving on Cherry Lake (main lake) and another smaller one the morning after. The site is immaculately kept and the hospitality from the owners is 5*. We stayed in the cottage which is clean, spacious and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back in July.

We book it for next year as it sounds great, lovely location and my husband will enjoy the fishing. They was quick to take your deposit, after reading so many rules, and the holiday cost 1300 for just 5 days, which the time to checked it was 4pm had to leave on Friday at 9am which only give us 3 and half days out of five. We cancelled our holiday which wasnt 24 hours and they did give us a refund except for 50.00 for expenses which i dont understand as we book it a year advance, i wouldnt come here too many rules and expensive for what it is.

Lovely place to visit, a great view of the lake, The food is excellent, as is the staff. Our waitress was amazing, especially as it was her first day!

it’s a shame I can’t give it five stars because the food was lovely. The staff were very efficient and the view was stunning but unfortunately, the dog etiquette was not okay we have been to many dog friendly restaurants this one there wasn’t any rules it’s the only dog friendly place I’ve been into where the dogs are just allowed to roam around and the owners don’t seem to have much control which did spoil the experience for us a little bit if I’m honest, so if you have a dog that normally keep on the lead in restaurants then I wouldn’t advise this bar,We went here last night with my 15 week puppy I always keep on a lead in restaurants I thought that’s what everybody did. She was sat under the table,There was another five dogs on the balcony they were all loose. Some were roaming around the tables jumping up at the tables.Barking a couple of times they came up to my puppy which was fine she’s a friendly Puppy, but I felt I couldn’t enjoy my meal because I was keeping an eye on the situation where I didn’t know the dogs. And they didn’t seem to be a lot of control with the owers.Unfortunately no one said anything and I thought maybe this is normal for the restaurant so when we finished eating,we just left.Normaly would of had a desertor a few drinks.

Great restaurant next to the lodges where we stayed. We went there twice and had lunch and breakfast, on both occasions it was delicious. You can sit outside or inside, as the weather was good we sat outside to admire the view. This place is dog friendly. Thanks to all of the staff for their hospitality and making us feel welcomed

Very nice pub/restaurant that clearly serves the surrounding lodges. Outside is very pretty with lovely views of the lake so was nice on a summers day. The pizza was incredible and served a decent array of beers and aside from the IPAs were decently priced. Look forward to returning!

Would have loved to have given this place 5 stars as it had it all, great food, attentive staff, and the location is lovely. However, the atmosphere is somewhat disappointing. During our visit, the owner, thought it was acceptable to have a full blown online meeting on the table next to us. Kept looking over, almost as if he was showing off. Really did put a dampener on our experience. Shame really, the place has potential but the owner has a lot of learn about making his diners feel welcome, and ensuring that they had an experience to remember - for the right reasons!

Didn't eat so can't really comment but what we see coming out from the kitchen it looked really good. Just stopped for a drink to watch the sunset... Shame about the wasp season so didn't stay to long. A nice buzz about the place so well worth a visit. Ps the Freddie Mercury tash seems very popular...
Alan K — Google review
Evening meal. We had booked. Service was very lacking. There seemed to be more people behind the bar than serving the tables so we just kept going back to the bar. Completely see why previous reviews mention the dogs it seems to be the go to place for the local folk who have yappy dogs that spend more time in handbags than being trained in any form of obedience. The food was very tasty, it would not recommend.

Great customer service with kindly, helpful waiters who helped enrich the soothing, lakeside atmosphere of the restaurant. Chefs were able to introduce some flexibility into the menu (in my case, changing the type of cheese to better match my tastes), while still keeping the product at the highest calibre.

Lake Pochard, located in the Cotswold Water Park, is a great spot for day fishing. The area also includes other lakes like Watermark Lakes, Whelford Pools, and Bushy Leaze. The lodges are spacious and offer lovely food with a Japanese fusion feel. Fishing in the main lake can be tough due to ducks constantly diving for bait, but it's possible to catch big fish with patience. Visitors can relax while enjoying beautiful views and wildlife.
I recently visited Lake Pochard, and it was an amazing experience. The lake is peaceful and perfect for bird watching, fishing, and enjoying nature. The clear waters and abundant wildlife made it a joy to explore. I loved the beautiful walking paths and the overall serene atmosphere. It’s a fantastic place to relax, whether you’re fishing, having a picnic, or just soaking in the calm surroundings. Lake Pochard is definitely worth a visit, and I’ll be coming back for sure!
Dr. M — Google review
Lovely staff and surroundings, lake Pochard is more for the angling enthusiast than the recreational angler, due to size and bottom (weedy) however the small lake is great fun with fish weighing in respectably, simply put the venue is suitable for all the family, with absolutely fantastic lodges, we had a cavernous 3 bed lodge which was well furnished and has all appliances. Staff are full of great advice on fishing the two lakes, and there is a tackle shop just a few yards away. Well worth the trip, we, and the dog Eddie loved our week, many thanks :)

We stayed in Maple Lodge for the second time. Good communication from the time of booking to arrival. Lovely and clean and everything you would need for a comfortable break. Dog friendly and the fishing was very good. Fishing tackle shop across the road.

What a lovely place to relax take in views watch the wild life and to fish. Very friendly staff. 2 things that didn't make me put a 5 star was my wife had to clean the lodge a bit as was a little dirty on the floor as had my daughter who like to play with her toys on floor and the water out of the taps was grey but not thier fault I suppose more the water board. But would definitely like to go again 👍
Matty S — Google review
Really disappointed with the fishing management, me and a friend booked way in advance to be told there was plenty of room on the lake for us to fish. On arrival, we were told that most swims were shut due to being 'Reserved' which we were told we couldn't do and the rest of the swims were already occupied by anglers. We was told only max 6 anglers on the lake, but there was 10 fishing. Incredibly frustrating considering we booked the lodge just to fish lake pochard. We are not local to lake pochard resulting in losing over £400. I cant fault the lodge, was really nice and clean in all due respects.
Joe S — Google review
Fantastic venue and a friendly welcome upon arrival, I could happily live in the lodge full time, clean, spacious and well equipped. The lake is stunning and offers the opportunity for big carp fishing. There is also a smaller match lake if that's what you want. Onsite restaurant and shops nearby, including a bait and tackle shop opposite the site.
Carl M — Google review
Lovely little wood cabins. Only thing missing is some WiFi as phone signal is quite low inside the buildings heating is fine. Beds comfortable etc sound does travel through the building tho so be aware of that if you have little ones. Only downsides are that the water pressure is a bit low making the shower weak, towels are on the small side and only one toilet roll was provided. All in all very nice.
