Amazing Gothic architecture full of relics to delight any cathedral enthusiast. The best views for me are at twilight when the real charm of the building stands out. If you're lucky enough to be there during Easter, make sure you watch the processions, especially the 21 stages of the crucifixion.

Historical landmark
Nestled in the charming town of El Burgo de Osma, the Puerta de San Miguel stands as a remarkable testament to the city's rich history. This stunning stone gate, constructed in 1458 under the direction of warrior bishop Pedro de Montoya, is the only surviving entrance from its ancient walls. Visitors can access it via a picturesque bridge over the Ucero River, flanked by well-preserved sections of 15th-century fortifications.
(Translated by Google) Also known as the Puerta del Río, it is one of the doors that gave access to the walled area of the town of El Burgo de Osma. The wall, built in the 15th century, had five different gates, of which only this one remains. This access is of later construction, and is not defensive in nature, since it sought to facilitate access to the walled area. Above its arch you can see a shield belonging to Bishop Francisco Tello (Original) También conocida como la Puerta del Río, se trata de una de las puertas que daban acceso al recinto amurallado de la villa de El Burgo de Osma. The wall was ordered to be built in 1458 by the warrior bishop Pedro de Montoya and in order to access the city a beautiful stone gate was created that is still in a good state of conservation. This is the Puerta de San Miguel. It is located very close to the cathedral and today it serves to differentiate the old town of Burgo de Osma from the rest of the city. The San Miguel Gate is surrounded by the scant part of the wall that is still standing and, next to it, a bridge has been created to be able to cross to the other side of the city. This gate is not only historically important, but also serves to differentiate the tourist area from the residential area. What is most striking about this door is the beautiful cross that stands right in the middle.

Interesting place to have a walk around.. unless you happen to be a pig, as the locals seem to have made a name for themselves via pork products. For a refreshing change in Spain most of the older buildings are well kept as well as homogeneous architecture.

The old Hospital of San Agustín located in El Burgo de Osma (province of Soria, Spain) is a construction from the 17th century, by the masters Pedro Portela and son, Ignacio Moncalcán and Diego Núñez, according to the design of Cipriano Antonio Miguel. Located in the Plaza Mayor, in front of the Town Hall, the building has a classic layout, two floors, with a square central patio, and a rectangular body at its northwest end. It was ordered to be built by Bishop Arévalo y Torres and erected between 1694 and 1699. The emerald-made inner courtyard has two floors open on each of its fronts by five lowered arches, a stone cornice and two shields per façade. Of great interest is the baroque dome of the chapel, the work of Pedro Portela. The main façade, made of ashlar stone, opens to the Plaza Mayor, in a symmetrical composition with access through the center, through a lintel door flanked by two window openings, repeating the same composition on the upper floor with a central balcony between two niches, which house the images of Saint Francis and Saint Sebastian (Original) Podían dar mejor uso a este edificio. The spacious rooms and facilities, including an outdoor pool, offer a relaxing experience with a charming ambiance. The Gothic-style interior creates a unique atmosphere that blends the old and the modern seamlessly. Guests can enjoy regional cuisine at the on-site restaurant and unwind at the spa. A visit to the beautiful cloister is highly recommended, offering a glimpse into the area's history.
Stunning building. Centuries old carefully renovated but main architectural features retained, now with skylights for basement spa experience. My first impression of this hotel was the worst! The staff in the reception was rude and they didn't want to help us with our wishes. Rooms were huge but smelled like smoke. I made reservations on August 22, 2022 for 3 nights October 4, 5, 6, Suite Santa Catalina, Especial Segunda Juventud. I received an email on August 22 confirming my reservation along with a confirmation number. On September 4, I received a phone call from the hotel stating that they have a large group coming to the hotel during my stay and need me to change my dates to allow tor the larger group can be accommodated. I did not want to change my dates since we planned these dates to celebrate our anniversary and birthdays. In the end we told the hotel to cancel the reservations. If a hotel confirms a reservation they should meet their commitments. We won't be making any reservations with this hotel or the other hotels in their hotel chain. Very unprofessional.
Bill B — Google review
Sadly, the hotel is not what It used to be and has considerably changed for the worse. Since our experience wasn’t the greatest, I’ll start highlighting the two good things the hotel offered: the dinner with live music, great food to the sound of a nice duet and Nati, a great masseuse! The Bad A spa is synonym of relaxing and a place to let go of any stress. When you go to one all you want to do is exactly that, to relax get a great massage and a good night’s sleep. None of those things are found in Castilla Termal Burgo de Osma. A loud place since early in the morning with kids yelling and crying around (noise until 01:00 am and noise again as of 8:00 am). The hotel doesn’t offer a single activity for young children, therefore it’s mind-boggling to me why people would take them there and/or why the hotel doesn’t go by an adult’s only status. My only guess is to cash in more money at the expense of guests enjoying a relaxing experience, which is the very reason they chose to be there to begin with. The Ugly (the spa - massage service) This aspect is probably something for the whole Castilla Termal group to consider as I also visited their Valbuena 5-stars hotel to a poor massage experience In this opportunity, we were 6 people and all had a poor massage experience - but me. I had Nati an excellent professional with great hands and technique who brought instant relief to my rather ache-riddled body. She was the best thing Castilla Termal had to offer this weekend. The Uglier - Price Taking into consideration that relaxing is not necessarily in the cards due to poor sound proofed rooms and subpar massage service, paying 200€ a night for the cheapest room is just a ripoff! Did I mention the standard rooms are in dire need of a refresh? The spa - I understand paying for the balneario, but having to pay 35€ to go to the swimming pool when you’re paying 200€ per night, is just preposterous! All in all, if you are looking to truly relax and unwind, look elsewhere, you won’t find that here.

Restaurante Capitol is a cozy dining spot that offers an impressive array of Mediterranean dishes, including pasta, vegetarian options, and seafood. With a menu boasting numerous choices for both starters and main courses, diners can indulge in a delightful culinary experience without breaking the bank. While some guests have noted that the atmosphere can get lively and crowded, many appreciate the quick service and flexibility of half-menu options. The restaurant's commitment to providing quality meals at reasonable prices makes it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.
We were here for lunch a Monday. There was a good selection og small dishes (tapas), good white wine, beer. We were seated outdoor in the shade, We had to pick up at the bar, but service was quicky and friendly. Later we discovered a huge dining room in the basement which. The food is decent and the location is really good. Prices are very reasonable. The staff are not very friendly or efficient. Really slow service. You can easily wait 15-20mins before even being acknowledged. Bathrooms pretty disgusting, I doubt they'd been cleaned for days at least. I really dont get why some places completely ignore this. This place could be sooo much better. Saw their supposed cleaning for coronavirus yesterday and it wasnt in any way good enough. The guy really rushed over cleaning the table. Definitely not good enough. I wont be going there for a while which is a shame as the location is perfect for kids.

We had for starters stuffed peppers with cod (excellent) and artichokes (mediocre). Main dishes: pork tenderloin (lagarto de cerdo ibérico) was delicious. The sole in seafood cream sauce (linguado) very poor. It's a hit and miss, but overall good value for money. I wouldn't necessarily, however, return to eat here.

Fantastic place. One of the best, unknown places, presentations I've had the honor of experiencing. Excellent food. Bad coffee as I'm Portuguese. Nevertheless worth the time to experience it. The bill was acceptable. Just.

The waitress with a very long, unfriendly face didn't even reply to our "hello", after what we, two adults and two kids, were completely ignored at the table. And I have never seen such a dirt in any bar or a restaurant, the floor was so dirty that I am scared to imagine how is their kitchen if they can't even take care of their floor. After the wait we just left...

Restaurant
El Fogón de Osma is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Guests rave about the delicious offerings, including standout dishes like homemade croquettes, torreznos, and salmorejo. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant visit. While the terrace provides a lovely setting for meals, some patrons noted minor improvements could be made in restroom facilities.
Good three course menu of the day, despite small number of choices. Excellent service from Gordon.

(Translated by Google) Everything is delicious!!!! The waiter was very friendly, funny and efficient. The cook is very kind, sincere and close. We ate cuttlefish, serrano ham, torreznos and mushroom croquettes, the croquettes were the best of all, you can tell that they are homemade, creamy and have an unmatched flavor, although being Soria I expected them to be boletus, but they have nothing to envy other croquettes that I have tried and yes they were boletus but they were worse made. In short, a highly recommended place!!! 5 very gluttonous people ate and drank for €80. Congratulations to the chef!!!

We will repeat for sure (Original) Los mejores torreznos que hemos probado!!!! (Translated by Google) The three previous negative reviews surprised me, because the truth is that I ate very well. I ordered a salmorejo and a flamenquín and they were very good. The terrace is pleasant and the service very agile. As points to improve, the bathroom seems to have been recently renovated, and it has been quite ugly. In addition, it does not have a hand dryer or paper towels. The waitress treated us customers by calling us "child", heart" or "family"... Anyway, so much familiarity was not necessary.

(Translated by Google) I put only one star, because it won't let me put less. I think this is my first review because it really made me angry and I found it quite unfair. The service is a disgrace, totally regrettable. We paid 50 euros and had to go to dinner somewhere else... we ordered several dishes and there were five of us to eat, of which they only got 3, some cold bravas potatoes, the cuttlefish was raw and an entrecôte in which there was a hair and The potatoes were cold, after seeing that we told the waiter not to bother bringing anything else, to our surprise after an hour of waiting and some having eaten something and others nothing, they hadn't even cooked it. In addition, the wine was brought open (the bottle with the cork open) and they charged us for a whole bottle. Speaking of the food, as for the staff, we must have already left the restaurant when the moment we were seated they started arguing in public because “they didn't have cutlery”, shouting could also be heard in the kitchen.

(Translated by Google) Restaurant framed in the main square of Burgo de Osma. The service was somewhat clueless regarding issues such as not including a sauce (due to allergies), taking a long time to take note of the order or presenting an incorrect bill. The kitchen is quite average, nothing spectacular in terms of portions. We will not repeat. Nestled within the charming courtyard of the Hotel Castilla Termal Burgo de Osma, Restaurante Argaela offers a delightful dining experience in a historic setting. This gastrobar and restaurant is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, featuring an enticing menu that includes local specialties like huevos rotos and risotto de setas. The ambiance is serene and beautifully designed, allowing guests to enjoy their meals amidst stunning architectural details.
The place is sensational! Don’t read the negative reviews. Mushroom soup, beef tenderloin, duck breast, lamp chops and octopus are absolutely excellent. The service is amazing, especially from Pablo, the head waiter. The atmosphere is unique and special. Definitely worth the visit. No photos, the foot was so good, we eat it before we had a chance to take a photo. Cheesecake to finish! Absolutely sensational! The best we have ever had.

(Translated by Google) Good food in a spectacular location, with a few drawbacks. It's worth a stop, even if it's just for a coffee and to enjoy the view. This is our fourth visit to the restaurant, and although we always leave very happy, this time we noticed more problems. We started with the avocado, highly recommended. For main courses, we wanted to try the Almadraba tuna with ajoblanco. For €28, the portion is quite disappointing. We also tried the lamb chops, which, although more appropriately portioned, arrived with cold potatoes. Nothing to complain about regarding the bread selection and dessert. Perhaps it's worth noting that while some tables were served a small appetizer of olives, this wasn't the case for us. In conclusion, good, but with room for improvement for the price.

(Translated by Google) Spectacular place to eat quality local products. The food is delicious (but it's not cheap at all). The cheese board is very varied and delicious. We ordered two seconds, both the chops and the duck magret were incredible. And the torrija is very delicious. The restaurant is located in the center (the university's light patio). Where you can see an upper vault where the sun enters. And in the central part another dome on the floor where you can see the spa. The atmosphere is very calm and pleasant. The staff who served us were very friendly, but the table was chipped and the napkins were a little dirty. Also some waiters were a little listless. But in general eating there is a pleasure although it is not cheap.

It's not cheap—we ate for €90, including 1 starter, 2 main courses, 1 dessert, and 1 coffee, with a glass of wine, water, and beer—but the quality is superb and it's worth it. I don't think we could have eaten so much for less money in any other restaurant in the area… Highly recommended! The arroz de matanza (slaughter rice) and the torreznos (pork rinds) are a must! If I have to complain, the glass of red wine is too cold.
