Castles
Castell Talacharn, also known as Laugharne Castle, is a medieval fortress with Tudor mansion and gardens located in the picturesque town of Laugharne. This historic site overlooks the stunning Carmarthen Bay and holds great significance as it was once frequented by the renowned Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Visitors can explore the imposing 13th-century castle ruins and stroll through vibrant gardens surrounding the Taf estuary.
Pretty little castle in a beautiful setting. Nice views from the top. Doesn’t take long to see the inside, but nice area to relax and explore.
Robert M — Google review
We didn’t go into the castle itself, but walking the full exterior loop was totally worth it. The path winds you through a mix of charming streets, little bridges, and open views of the estuary. The castle ruins pop up between trees and rooftops, and honestly, it was just such a gorgeous setting for photos. The tide was low when we were there, so we saw boats resting in the mudflats, and the whole landscape felt kind of frozen in time—but in a poetic way, not a boring one. The village is quiet but full of character. It’s an easy, peaceful walk, and if you're into photography or just nice scenery, this place really delivers.
K E — Google review
Took a walk around the castle and had an ice-cream. Lovely views across the estuary listening to bird calls. A very relaxing atmosphere. You can walk up steps to Dylan Thomas's writing shed. There are public toilets available a short walk from the car park but you need 20p to enter. A convenience store , gift shop ,cafe and pubs within a short walk.
Sonya — Google review
The castle is pretty and enjoys a lovely outlook over the estuary. However, it’s quite small and you can see everything in just a few minutes — I’m not sure it justifies the entrance fee, especially when nearby castles like Llansteffan are free and in my opinion, more impressive. Having said this, the small garden was well kept and had the most amazing smelling rose blooming The town itself: We visited on a Monday afternoon at the very end of June (not exactly out of season), and although Laugharne has several pubs, only the wine bar was open — the others didn’t open until between 3:30 and 5pm. We might have enjoyed the experience more if we’d been able to grab some lunch and a drink to extend our visit but overall it felt a bit underwhelming.
Clairedolci — Google review
Beautiful views over the Taf/Laugharne estuary from the top. So much history associated with the castle and lovely to see it so well cared for and looked after. Can see where the entrance fees are spent. Really enjoyed our visit.
Jo P — Google review
Gorgeous castle. The views and the outlook are amazing. Read the boards inside, it’s a good story. Also, take the flights of stairs to the top for the view.

Beautiful Castle, impressive grounds and historic significance Short distance from Dylan’s Boathouse Definitely worthy of a visit and climb the stairs to the turret for great views

Cartref Dylan Thomas, also known as the Dylan Thomas Boathouse, is a historical site that was once the home of the renowned Welsh poet. The boathouse features exhibits showcasing its history and an art gallery for visitors to explore. Situated in Laugharne, this picturesque town offers stunning views of Carmarthen Bay and is home to notable landmarks such as Laugharne Castle and St Martin's church where Dylan Thomas and his wife are buried.
This is a wonderful place to visit. Very atmospheric, you can sit in the chairs where Dylan sat and really feel his presence. The man working there was lovely and told us fascinating facts about Dylan's life. There's also a fabulous cafe at the rear which you can visit even if you don't want to see the rest of the house. But would definitely recommend seeing the whole house.
Donna M — Google review
Stopped off on our way to Tenby. I'm so glad we did. We'll worth the visit. Easy parking (chargeable). Nice walk along the estuary. We visited Dylan Thomas boathouse, grave, and writing she'd. Both easy reach from the main car park. There are a few eating places and a convenience store also.
Michael R — Google review
Lovely and interesting spot where the great Welsh Poet lived later in his brief life. Accessible only by foot, but an easy 500m walk from the castle car park. Lovely views of the Taf Estuary. The site includes a nice little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating.
Janet R — Google review
I didn't know much about Dylan Thomas's life, but it was amazing to be able to soak up the atmosphere of the place, where had lived and probably also had drawn the inspiration for his poetry. This added to the breath taking beauty of the surroundings scenery and nature had left a great impression on me and I am very pleased indeed and feel privileged for the opportunity of this visit.
Eberhard B — Google review
Very well preserved step back in time Worth a visit if in the area We stayed at Dylan’s lodges a 10min walk away, after the boathouse we followed the small coastal path (open on low tide) round to the beautiful castle Very serene peaceful village
Steve R — Google review
Although it is very plain and not a lot to see if you are into this man it is very interesting to see how the man lived and wrote from a little pokie room I may of missed a lot or not been that interested but it is a nice place to visit a 15 minute walk for most from the car park
Dean D — Google review
What a beautiful and inspiring location. Visiting the Boathouse and surrounding area is so inspiring. You can't park at the location, but is just a short walk from the nearest car park.
Richard H — Google review
We were married here on Friday . From start to finish , it was a lovely experience. From meeting Andrew a few weeks ago to organise the details, the communication was brilliant, he couldn't have been more helpful and lovely. On the day, the weather wasn't kind, Storm Amy set in but it didn't dampen things , it's such a beautiful location, to see the estuary a bit wild was wonderful! Camartheshire register office were also wonderful. The homemade cream tea was delicious, plenty of scones, clotted cream , jam and tea(and champagne 🍾 which we had taken ourselves) . We have half a giant scone left that they'd made especially for us, working our way through it! All in all a great day, Thank you to you all . Rhiannon &Rob

Steak house
Welcome to Dexters at Browns, a chic bar that beautifully blends modern elegance with a rich literary past. Once the beloved retreat of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, this contemporary venue boasts stylish decor and an impressive array of cocktails alongside local and international ales. As you unwind with friends, you'll appreciate the historical memorabilia honoring Thomas's legacy, who resided nearby from 1949 until his passing in 1953.
Best place I have been to recently. The food is just superb. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the meat is so tender. The burger is fantastic too, and the service is excellent. There is a dog friendly area as well. We enjoyed every minute! It is a hidden gem in a lovely location. Thank you!
Tsvetelina P — Google review
Had an absolutely fantastic meal here! The fillet steaks were some of the best we’ve ever had—cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. The peppercorn sauce was rich and full of flavor, the perfect accompaniment. For starters, we had the beef arancini, which were just as impressive—crispy on the outside, packed with flavor inside. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!
Beth M — Google review
Had heard so much about Dexters so very excited to go. Disappointed to be sat in a seat right next to the drinks fridge, not the best place to sit. It was also very, very dark. Went for the chateaubriand sharing steak and it was delicious. Very good quality steak. It came with chips, 2 sides and 2 sauces and salad between 2. It was all a little greasy and a bit too much. We did wonder when the couple next to us who had been before were saying that they'd take some home before they'd ordered. Maybe it might be worth reducing portions a bit and the price.
Jo P — Google review
The best meal I have ever eaten, ever... and I don't say that lightly! Honestly we have not stopped talking about it since we ate there last night. The food is incredible! Confit pig cheek starter was beautiful, black pudding melted in your mouth and the sauce complimented it very well. We both opted for steak for main and the glaze on the meat gave it an incredibly intense flavour, charred to perfection and cooked to our exact requests. The service is fantastic, the 2 main members of staff that looked after us were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We had our little one with us and they spoke to her directly, not something you see often and she was incredibly happy about it. It made her night! Thanks so much Dexter's for a fantastic evening, we will be back and we will be telling everyone to come visit!
Gemma H — Google review
My son and I came for dinner after a full day’s blacksmithing workshop, very much ready for a hearty dinner. The food was all excellent, from the delicate crunch of the crispy squid starter, to the melting, rich charred meatiness of the steaks - both cooked perfectly to the type of cuts. We had one filet and one ribeye, and they were both perfect. My son said his ribeye was in his ‘top three steaks of all time’. We had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which was a great finish. Atmosphere of the venue was also nice. Brick walls, but still felt warm and cosy due to lightning and decor. Great experience all round.
Duncan M — Google review
Can’t recommend the Sunday Roast enough. For the price it is completely unmatched. Big portions, such tender beef and lovely service. Food was put on the table in under 5 minutes after ordering. 10/10 nothing to complain about

Deli
Ferrymans Delicatessen in Laugharne offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, serving up a delightful menu of homemade soups and daily specials like chorizo and chickpea stew. The portions are generous, with soups starting from £5. Visitors can also enjoy tasty sourdough rolls and coffee while being greeted by the friendly owners. Other popular dining options in the area include Poons and the local Fish and Chip shop in the square.
This is a gem of a place, the food is freshly made and locally sourced where possible and the illy coffee is superb. Well worth finding on the high street and stopping for a bite, or to pick from the wide range of top quality deli options, to take home. Thank goodness for independent places like this.

It's an excellent delicatessen in Laugharne with a range of the usual foods like fresh bread, produce, cheese etc. Tom regularly makes fresh salads, cous-cous and other foods. We've also had lovely breakfasts here (cooked breakfast, poached eggs) and it's a great place to stop for breakfast, lunch or just coffees just 2 minutes up the road from the castle.
Hywel W — Google review
Popped in to have a coffee and it was the best coffee I had down West Wales. My wife and I ordered 2 cappuccinos and they were perfect. The perfect ratio of milk, foam and espresso and the beans he used were smooth and not roasted to a burnt crisp. The owner was very friendly and upon talking with him, found out he has family where we live. Will definitely be going again next time we go away.

We called in for a quick look around and ended up staying for some brunch. My Partner had the HLT, which was impressive and I had the Serrano ham and manchego flatbread. All cooked fresh and very generous servings with superb sides. And quality coffee on top was a bonus. Highly recommended.

The Original Tin Shed Experience in Laugharne, Wales is a surprising museum housed in a building from 1933. It features an extensive collection of wartime memorabilia from 1915-1945, including films and props. Visitors are taken on a journey through time, exploring period household items and military artifacts displayed in what feels like an old family friend's garage.
A hidden gem! We thought it was a small garage but when we entered what a surprise! You walk into a large barn with displays and through to a garden which houses an Anderson Shelter and a small cottage, filled with period household items. It was like being at my gran's! In what is an old garage they have small displays of various millitary memorabilia and a fully restored military van. The volunteers are knowledgeable and more than happy to share what they know. The only funding they get is entry fees so go visit!!!!

Dylan Thomas' Grave

Historical landmark
Dylan Thomas' Grave is located in the churchyard extension of a quaint village called Laugharne, where the celebrated Welsh poet spent the latter part of his life. The town charmed him so much that he moved there with his wife and later relocated to the famous boathouse property, where he wrote many of his works. The grave itself is simple and modest, marked by a white wooden cross memorializing Dylan and Caitlin Thomas.
Very beautiful peaceful graveyard. His cross was easy to find, we went early on a Sunday so it was very quiet.
Joanne J — Google review
An interesting town to wander around and find out a little of the life of Dylan Thomas. His grave, his drinking haunt Brown's (which is a lovely pub) and his boathouse and writing shed, which has great views over the estuary, all make it a well worthwhile visit.
Phil T — Google review
Dylan Thomas' grave is in a beautiful peaceful churchyard, near Laugharne. It's clear to see where Dylan Thomas got his inspiration from. The church, castle and Boathouse are worth visiting too.

Saint Martin's Church, located in Laugharne, is a charming Victorian church with a rich history dating back to the 14th century. It was built by Sir Guido de Brian and is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. The churchyard is the final resting place of the renowned poet Dylan Thomas and his wife Caitlin. Their graves are marked simply with white wooden crosses, standing out amidst more elaborate tombs.
A church famous as the final resting place of the poet Dylan Thomas. Inside St Martins church there is a curious shaped cross-slab dating from Dark Ages, probably the 9th-10th century. The slab stone is built into the east wall of the south transept has an unusual Celtic design carved onto it; though some historians claim the designwork is of Viking origin. The cross is oddly shaped, reminiscent of a human body perhaps. There is thick ropework, in the form of looped interlacing, running up from the bottom to the cross-head, while close to the edges ordinary, less thick knotwork. The large round-shaped cross-head has a Latin-style cross in the centre with a small boss in the middle of that and oval looped links between the arms.

Lovely church yard. Probably most visited as the site of Dylan and Caitlin Thomas graves though a proper old fashioned churchyard and a joy to walk around. A real history of the area in the graves and tombs. Very well tended and a pleasure to explore. Church itself was locked up when I was there.

The burial place of world renowned poet Dylan Thomas and his Wife. Go up the slope on the right hand side of the church, go through the iron gates on the right, go straight on across the grass and turn left after 50 yards and go up to about 20 yards and see the white cross. Well maintained, small bottle of his favourite tipple whiskey next to the cross. Churchyard full of birdsong.

Beautiful old church. We went to Laugharne to see Dylan Thomas's Boathouse and family home. Beautiful village and we wanted to see where Dylan had been buried alongwith his wife, Caitlin. What a lovely place. Really welcoming. Clean and tidy great atmosphere. We had two small breakfasts and a couple of coffees. There was oat milk for the coffee just like I like it. A lovely cafe on two floors in the picturesque town, close to the famous Brown’s pub where Dylan Thomas frequently drank. They serve an interesting selection of Asian and Western cuisine along with classic rolls and sandwiches plus a selection of delicious cakes. It’s dog friendly both down and upstairs and with friendly staff and owners serving and cooking the delicious food. The day we visited they were very busy and we had to ask again for our coffee having already eaten our savoury dishes but that’s probably testament to their good food, environment and friendliness of their business.

Immediately a warm and welcoming atmosphere, greeted kindly as we entered. Woman serving us was lovely and food was quick. The food in question was amazing, especially after a mediocre lunch elsewhere. The Steak was incredible, and very generously sized. The Pad Thai and Pork Mince Stir Fry were also reportedly amazing, so no complaints at all. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area, for both British and Thai cuisine.

Portreeves Restaurant is a hidden gem located just off the main road through Laugharne. The restaurant offers excellent food and service with generous portions, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Welsh Steak and Ale pie is delicious, while the Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake is simply irresistible. Despite its unassuming location, the restaurant's surprisingly spacious and quirky interior adds to its charm. With full Covid protocols in place, guests can enjoy their meals with peace of mind.
Excellent food & service, with generous portions, inside surprisingly spacious & quirky restaurant. Main course & desserts for all 3 of us where excellent. And with generous portions we came away stuffed from just 2 courses. My special of Rib of Beef in rich ale sauce with Horseradish Mash was beautifully rich & deep flavours. Then followed with generous sized rich warmed chocolate Brownie smothered in chocolate sauce & high quality vanilla ice cream on the side. The vanilla ice-cream Sundae had by one of our other group was similarly impressive! Restaurant also has free WiFi which may be useful for those not getting good mobile reception around Largharne.

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Castell Llansteffan is a 12th-century castle with stunning ocean views, situated on a site dating back to the Iron Age. The surrounding area features green farmland and a dense jungle of trees, offering a true Welsh countryside experience. The trek from the parking areas provides lovely views of rolling hills and the sea at Tywi Estuary and Carmarthen Bay. Visitors can explore the ruins for free, enjoying beautiful vistas and informational boards about the castle's history.
Lovely castle, views over the beach are breathtaking! You can leave the car at the beach car park, it’s for free! Walk up to castle is not difficult. Castle itself is surprisingly well preserved. You can climb up a tall tower and the view is beautiful. Lovely place to have a picnic. The best thing- the entry is free! Will be visiting again, great day out, dogs also allowed.

Beautiful 11th century castle, with at least 2 still visible build stages. Going up the old gatehouse was something else. Free entry is a bonus. Beautiful scenery from the walk up to the castle. Great fish and chips and ice-cream in the car park.

Beautiful castle ruins in a lovely coastal village. Stunning views along the coast—absolutely worth the steep walk up. Free parking and free to enter, clean, and well maintained, with plenty of space for a picnic. One thing I’d love to see is a few more plaques explaining the original purpose of each area, as this kind of detail is often missing in most Welsh castles. A beautiful, peaceful and scenic place to explore.

Free castle to visit. Free beach car park at the bottom of the hill. Quite a steep and long walk up to the castle from the car park but worth it for the views! A few signs are dotted around the castle but you may want to read up about it beforehand to understand which section is which. Very ruined but very beautiful. Despite being ruined, there are sections you can walk up and see the beautiful views out over the estuary. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area.

Great castle ruins. Park in the castle car park on the beach, there is a small path just along g the beach up to the castle entrance. Once you have finished walking around the ruins, fallow the path out and gi straight down the road ahead. Fallow the signs to the beach. If it was low tide like it was for us, you could walk along the beach back to the car park. But check the tides.

A very picturesque castle, dating from the 12th Century. No car park by the castle and don’t follow Google for directions as this will take you to a dead end. It is a private road to the castle which is pedestrian only. The car park is at Llansteffan beach opposite the tea rooms. This is also the start of the path up to the castle. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the castle from here. It is a gradual climb from the car park and on the private road which is steep in parts. Access to the castle is very another steep path. The castle is mainly in ruins but part of the gatehouse has one staircase intact and you can climb to the top. Some fantastic views across the estuary. The castle is free entry but owned by CADW. There are some information boards however they are sparse and maybe some signs to show the different parts would be helpful. Also some more information about who owned the castle would be good maybe a QR code which can be scanned by a phone. It was only when I checked the first sign on the path up to the castle did it say further information such as a guide book, post cards could be obtained at the Post Office or Beach shop. The sign looked old and not sure if still relevant but It would have been helpful if this information was at the start of the path in the car park and not just before you get in to the castle and after climbing the hill. However the ruins are well cared for and in good order and for free entry it’s a good place to visit.

Lovely walk up to the castle from the free car park on the seafront. Chippy on the car park open from noon. Castle free too. Circular walk from car park taking in Castle. Tried to find St Anthony's well, but failed. Nice walk back along the beach. Always a few spaces in the car park.
Jackie R — Google review
Even if you don't like castles it's worth going up for the views. The castle is great to see though. Free to get in and stairs up to the top of the main gatehouse.

Parking lot
Llansteffan Castle Car Park is a spacious parking area with food and drink options available nearby. It's a short walk from the castle, which offers stunning views of the surrounding nature and architecture. The steep walk up to the castle is worth it for the spectacular scenery, including views of Worms Head and the coastline. The well-preserved castle provides a rich historical experience, making it a highly recommended visit for those looking to immerse themselves in its history and enjoy breathtaking scenery.
Didn't go to car park, but went to castle, absolutely views were incredible all across the estuary breathtaking

There is ample parking here at this car park. It is big, spacious and has food & drink truck/cafes if you fancy a bite or light lunch. The car park is a short walk from the castle, a 30 minute walk The walk is steep so take your climbing sticks if you need or require extra support. the views and nature surrounding the castle is beautiful. The walk allows you to take in all the surroundings and appreciate the architecture and land the castle was built on. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Convenient for the beach, toilets available also fresh drinking water for the dogs or to wash the sand from your feet. Refreshments available hot and cold

A superb little beach and car park. The castle on the hill is well worth the walk up.

Fabulous area and atmospheric ruins of a mighty castle. Plenty to explore and climb for the kids but a few out of bounds places too. A long winding ascent from the beach car park, which has food, drink and public toilets.
Simon H — Google review
This is one of my favourite castles. The walk up is pretty steep but it is in most castles. The views are spectacular. It was a nice day and we could see Worms Head as well as along the coastline. It is beautiful. Well worth a visit. The benches in the picture were perfect for us to stop and get our breath back. My only disappointment was that we were too late in the day to get icecream 🍦😀 Definitely need to come earlier next time.

An excellent, small site with 26 pitches, some hard standing others grass. Beautiful views. Well kept land. A fantastic small bar on site open from 5pm. Often hosting music events. A lovely couple who run the site also brew a lovely larger sold at the bar area. Very dog friendly.

Lovely campsite, large hardstanding pitches, grass and grounds nicely kept, showers 🚿 and toilets very clean and lots of space. The dishwashing area has not got hot running water but a large kettle on hand. Chemical waste toilet, and tap. Recycling bins for tin, glass, paper, plastic, and dog poo 💩, but nothing for general waste stuff. The owner came to see if we had settled in on first day, and to explain the facility's and the bus stops at the gate, and on our leaving day to have a chat and make sure everything was great with our stay 👍
Darren — Google review
Outstanding little site with perfect facilities & with the most amazing views across the estuary to Laugharne. Matt & Sian run the place really well, nice & chilled, there if you have any questions or local advice, also they have their own craft beer Pererin which is definitely worth a tasting. All in a fantastic site. Have stayed here several times already & will continue to keep coming back. Thank you both Pete, Claire & Buddy 🐾

First time at the site for us. The owners gave us a lovely welcome. We were struck by a number of things, the superb views, the friendly atmosphere and all the facilities eg clean modern bathroom areas, areas to relax and enjoy the view after a days walking in the most beautiful countryside. We stayed over a Bank Holiday so entertainment was on offer and it was a very enjoyable family evening - great fun.

First time stay at this superb site. Welcomed on arrival by Sian, no hassle at all with set up and facilities. Saturday drinks were great, brewed by Matt 👍💯. Thanks guys, will definitely be back soon

Wow! Fantastic little campsite with some of the most incredible views. Good sized pitches with water and electricity on each pitch. Toilets & showers lovely and clean, ladies had two toilets and one good sized shower and gents had the same. Perfectly adequate for the site, never had to queue. Fantastic food at the local pub, just a 5 min walk from the site. Fabulous bar on site serving local ale.... hubby was very partial to the pererin... brought a few bottles to take home. Loved that there are recycling bins on site, great way to get everyone to consider their waste. Shed on site set up with washing up sink, with microwave, toaster and kettle also in there along with a fresh milk vending machine and eggs available to purchase. Site owners are lovely and look forward to making a return visit.... not just for the ale 😁.

We were staying in Llansteffan and decided to get some food here last night. I rang ahead and booked a table we ate in the bar area as we had our dog with us , the staff were very friendly provided water bowl for our pooch and there were dog treats on the bar. The food was delicious well cooked and nicely presented. Beef madras curry , vegetable lasagna and smokehouse burger with dirty fries. I would definitely recommend this pub if you are visiting the area and want some lovely food.

An amazing pub, found whilst passing through. What an incredible gem. Lovely staff, we had the carvery, has to be one of my favourites. Despite living no where near will make plans around the pub. Outstanding, looking for our return already. Plenty of parking and dog friendly. 👏👏👏👏👏

We pulled up really hungry, we had no idea what to expect but when we got out the car we saw the chef walk out to her car and instantly knew the food was going to be good. This is possibly the nicest pub I've ever been too, it's a family run place and honestly I never thought food could make someone feel homesick but it was THAT GOOD! It's worth coming to South Wales just to eat here, absolutely amazing ❤️ Great prices, great food, what more can you ask for! It says a lot when the chef delivers the food herself, what a gem!

Food is absolutely delicious. Best Sunday lunch.. lovely area. Did need gentle or some background music playing in restaurant to lift atmosphere.
Lisa R — Google review
Sunday lunch was excellent with such a variety of vegetables. The desserts looked yummy but couldn't manage one following such a large lunch. I thought the price of £7.95 was somewhat expensive. Will definitely return again.
Ingrid L — Google review
What can I say about this place. Superb service, food to die for, portions were huge and very reasonably priced, the ambiance was relaxed, welcoming and unhurried. Our dogs were spoilt. We left feeling like we would not eat in a week. You enter the pub as a stranger and leave feeling like it's your local. Best of all no intrusive music. Thank you for a brilliant evening.
David T — Google review
Had a lovely meal while staying at the local campsite. Booked late but as we have a dog thought best to do so, pub staff very accommodating and friendly. Food excellent and good beer choices, visit made special by the lovely locals who we could have chatted to, about dogs mainly, all night. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

The Cors Country House

The Cors Country House is a delightful retreat located in the picturesque village of Laugharne, Carmarthenshire. This charming establishment offers luxurious and spacious accommodations that serve as an ideal sanctuary after a day spent exploring the local culinary delights. Surrounded by the breathtaking Welsh countryside, The Cors provides guests with a perfect blend of comfort and elegance, making it an excellent choice for those looking to enhance their travel experience while indulging in the vibrant food scene nearby.
The Cors Country House, is easily one of the best places we’ve stayed. Firstly, let me start by saying that although the pictures of this place are beautiful, they don’t come anywhere near to conveying just how incredible this house is. There are so many little things that make The Cors much more than holiday accommodation; it’s easy to see that it has been cared for with love and pride for every guest to experience opulence, but above all comfort. There truly is everything you could want, and much, much, more, for an amazing stay. There were only two of us; my partner and I, but because we’re used to having a large property, it suited us perfectly and had plenty of choice when it came to relaxing. Whether that be in the sensational cinema room (absolutely out of this world!), or The Cors games room, complete with pool table and a bar area. The bedrooms were exquisite. Super comfortable beds, all with outstanding quality linens, and adorned by magnificent objet d'art. It is evident that there has been no expense spared when it comes to this magical house. I spent most of our time here just marvelling at how stylish everything is. It would rival anything you’d see in a high end interior glossy. In addition to the luxury and grandeur of the house, its location is second to none. There are so many fabulous places to eat within walking distance, but similarly, if you enjoy cooking, the kitchen here is phenomenal. Once again, it has everything and so much more. Simply nothing has been missed or overlooked, when it comes to guests having the most memorable stay here. As much as the house and location are equally phenomenal, the best thing about staying here, is the host, Jac. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, ensuring we had everything we need. Without doubt, one of the best hosts we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. I could honestly go on and on, listing all the very many reasons as to why this should be the next place you choose to stay, especially if you’re planning on visiting this idyllic part of Wales.

We had a wonderful stay at The Cors Country House and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered — from the immaculate presentation of the rooms to the charming touches throughout the house that give it such warmth and character. Communication with Jac was excellent from start to finish. He was responsive, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The house itself is full of personality, beautifully maintained, and strikes a perfect balance between comfort and elegance. The surrounding gardens are absolutely stunning — a true highligh. If you’re looking for a place that combines style, comfort, and hospitality in a picturesque setting, The Cors Country House is a perfect choice. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

I have just arrived home from staying at The Cors Country House for the weekend to celebrate my friends 40th birthday. Our experience was nothing short of amazing. We can’t recommend Jac and his beautiful property enough. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jac who came to check that everything was okay, along with a kind gesture of a bottle of Prosecco, orange juice and some snacks! The house is very well maintained and felt nothing but at home and very welcomed. We could all say the bar was definitely a hit and was our favourite room for the weekend! Although, all rooms were amazing! Jac was a brilliant host and always made sure that we had everything we needed and was always available if ever we were in need. The location of the property was a perfect spot with lovely surroundings and short walks into the town. The local people were so lovely and so welcoming which made a great atmosphere! All from genuine chats, laughter and recommendations on where we could go for the best food, drinks, activities and atmosphere if we wanted to head out! I can’t recommend staying at The Cors Country House enough, you will not be disappointed. Especially when entering, you already feel at home with the most welcoming and relaxing feeling. There isn’t one fault we could possibly say about our stay, everything was perfection and an experience we can’t possibly forget! We had a blast and were hoping to return very soon. Jac, thank you so much for having us and making us feel so welcome!💜

Stayed at The Cors for 3 nights for my friend’s 60th birthday, the house is immaculate and catered very well for 4 couples (sleeps 10) Bedrooms/bathrooms were very clean. Great cinema room and games room with bar area. Lovely places to eat and drink nearby and we had a nice walk to the castle and around Laugharne. Lovely garden and we were lucky to have some good weather so we were able to sit outdoors for a few hours in the sun (in October!) Would highly recommended the Cors

We had the most wonderful stay here - beautiful surroundings, spotless and comfortable rooms and a warm genuine welcome from the hosts. Perfect for a peaceful escape with stunning walks right on our doorstep. 5 minutes drive to pendine beach which is dog friendly. We look forward to returning some time in the future. Would highly recommend.

I recently celebrated my friends 40th birthday at Cors Country House. This place was an absolutely wonderful experience. It has every thing you would want to celebrate any special occasion. It’s also pet friendly which is an absolute bonus. ☺️☺️ From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm and beauty of the house and its grounds, my personal favourite part was the free standing bath in my en-suite. The property is immaculate and incredibly well-maintained, offering everything we could possibly need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. A particularly thoughtful touch was the host's gesture of leaving us some prosecco and other goodies, which made us feel even more welcomed. It’s clear that a lot of care and attention went into ensuring our comfort, and we appreciated it immensely. The location and atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a special occasion, and I genuinely hope to return with my family soon. Thank you so much for a memorable stay! Highly recommend it!
