Casa del Vino is a wine museum housed in a 17th-century estate in the Sauzal region of Tenerife. The museum offers insights into the island's wine industry, covering everything from grape cultivation to fermentation and traditional winemaking practices. Visitors can indulge in wine tastings featuring regional varietals and savor delicious local wines paired with cheese. The venue also boasts a restaurant, making it an essential stop for wine enthusiasts exploring Tenerife's thriving viticulture scene.
We had an absolutely fantastic time! The venue itself is charming, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The shop offers a fantastic selection of wines and local products at a reasonable price. What truly stood out was the excellent service. The staff were not only incredibly friendly but also very knowledgeable, always happy to answer any questions we had and share their insights during the wine tasting. It was a wonderful experience all around, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone!😊

It’s was a great experience! We took wine tasting with 4 different kinds of wine and 5 local products for 20€ and we got even drunk after that😆 Wine was tasty, territory is big ,they have museum inside and shop where I bought banana wine ! 10/10☺️

A great experience! Very good hosts and beautiful hacienda. We tried 4 different wines combined with cheese and pork leg. They had really good selection, we even bought a bottle because they have a nice gift shop with bottles of wines and different spreads and liquor.⭐️

We arrived at the place about 20 minutes after opening time. The local guy immediately offered us the possibility of a tour which we started with self guided tour of the museum with an explanation of the history of wine growing and all other details related to wine. This was followed by a wine tasting of our choice. with the wine we could sit under the terrace where there were tables with chairs. We spent about 1.5 hours on site tasting 4 wine samples and touring the museum and local gift shop. We highly recommend a visit to this place..

Great experience! They also have small wine, honey and agriculture exhibitions. Our wine tasting included 3 wines (white, rose and red - we had 2 different options for each type of wine), some goat cheese, honey and cheese spread.

Wonderful experience! The museum is fascinating, extensive, and well designed. You learn some of the science behind winemaking and in particular the challenges of doing it in the Canary Islands. There’s also historical information about the islands as well as other agricultural products. Besides the museum, there are also gardens to walk through, a wonderful tasting room, an extensive gift shop, and a restaurant. We would absolutely visit again!

Bodegas Monje is a family winery nestled in the picturesque hills near El Sauzal, offering stunning views of the mountains and sea. Run by Felipe Monje, a fifth-generation winemaker, this vineyard boasts grape varieties that have survived for over 500 years, resulting in unique and intense volcanic character wines. Visitors can enjoy guided group tastings, private tastings, and wine tours with cheese pairings.
Lovely winery short distance from La Oratava town with absolutely gorgeous wine, some interesting tasting options ( also restaurant and show nights if you visit on those days) The visit was informative but not over detailed. The atmosphere and architecture is nice and the views pretty. Highly recommended!

We had an outstanding tour (shout out to Feel Tenerife!) which culminated in a tour of the winery and a fantastic meal. Gorgeous views. Great tastes. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.

A Perfect Day at Bodegas Monje We really enjoyed our time at Bodegas Monje! The wine tasting and tour offered a fascinating glimpse into their winemaking process and historic cellar. Just the right balance of information, history and winemaking. We sampled four different wines, each paired with four differently aged cheeses, which made for a truly memorable tasting experience. The setting itself is absolutely stunning, with panoramic views of the vineyards and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. After the tour, we stayed for a delicious lunch on the patio that perfectly complemented the wines. The Croquetas de Jamón (Iberico ham croquettes with cheese) and the fire-roasted suckling pig were both exceptional. Perfectly prepared and full of flavor. It was the ideal combination of great food, nice wine, and warm hospitality. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Tenerife. A good escape from the touristy, overbuilt vibe of the south. A true must-do for wine lovers! 🍷

My fiancé had surprised me on my birthday for a wine and cheese tasting at Monje and I had a really great day! The tour was really well explained and to see local artists work was a nice touch to the experience. I enjoyed my day and couldn’t not treat ourselves to a bottle of wine and souvenirs from their gift shop. Thank you for a great experience :)

Catholic church
Nestled in the heart of El Sauzal, the Parish of St. Peter the Apostle is a captivating destination that beautifully blends history and nature. Surrounded by lush gardens adorned with waterfalls, this parish offers stunning coastal views from its scenic viewpoint. The church itself is a remarkable monument, recognized for its historical and cultural significance since it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2005.
Lovely church with a tower and a dome set in a pretty part of town. Local restaurants are busy and popular. The church was open which it should be and attached a small church museum with many historical artefacts. I was able to light a real candle as well. Definately recommend a vist.

(Translated by Google) A monument of great historical, artistic, and cultural value, it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2005. Its significance goes beyond the religious, as it has been both a witness and a protagonist in the island's history. Although its beginnings date back to the 16th century, most of its current appearance is due to the renovations and expansions of the 18th and 19th centuries. It was one of the first churches to be built on the island, only after those in La Laguna, Santa Cruz, and Los Realejos. A notable event in its history is that, in 1572, due to a plague epidemic in La Laguna, the headquarters of the Island Council-Town Hall was moved to El Sauzal, making the Church of San Pedro the political and administrative center of the island for a time. Over the centuries, it has suffered damage from storms (such as the storm of 1788, which destroyed part of a nave and the original altarpiece) and has undergone several restorations, especially in the early 19th century and the mid-1990s. Architectural Features: Latin Cross Plan: Its main structure is organized in a Latin cross plan, a common design in religious architecture. Rectangular Sacristy: The sacristy attached to the church has a rectangular plan and is distinguished from the exterior by its hipped tiled roof. Former Side Nave (Future Museum): On the Epistle (right) side, an old side nave is preserved, currently in disuse, which is intended to house a future museum of sacred art. One of the oldest baptismal fonts in Tenerife, carved in marble, is preserved here. Dome and Coffered Ceilings: A striking and distinctive dome rises above the transept, considered a distinctive symbol of El Sauzal. The side chapels, both the Epistle and Gospel chapels, feature beautiful octagonal coffered ceilings. Main Facade: Facing west, it features a lintelled doorway with a cornice and a pediment-shaped finial with curvilinear ends, all in stone. Above this, an oculus or skylight also surrounded by stonework. 18th-Century Tower: The tower, with a quadrangular floor plan, is an imposing element. It has strong black stone corners and is divided into four sections separated by a stone band. Its wide rectangular openings lighten its architectural mass and give it a loftier appearance. The interior of the church is a true artistic treasure. It houses: Baroque altarpieces: Several high-quality works adorn the chapels. Flemish and Sevillian sculptures: Examples of different artistic styles of great value. Religious Painting Collection: Among them, the painting of Ánimas stands out, an anonymous 18th-century work depicting purgatory in vivid colors. Image of Saint Peter the Apostle: The image of the municipality's patron saint occupies a central place. Marble Baptismal Font: One of the oldest in Tenerife, it is of great historical interest.

This is a small local park where women used to wash clothes from the spring. Lots of Lizards and great view of the sea. Other reviews mention a cafe. I visited here in August and no sign of a business up and running in the park. You can walk from El.souzal to Los Angelos through here if you dont want to go via the main road. Gates close at 7pm or 10pm depending on day/time of year.

Thijs R — Google review
I can't understand such a high rating, maybe it is different at summer. We've been in November. The park is amazing and perfect if you start from the bottom (there are two entrances). However, everything above the "restaurant" is horrible and should not be visited. The restaurant was closed and inside (as well as the "terraces") was occupied by homeless people, resulting in a horrible smell and trash you have to go through as it is literally the only way to the exit. Total disappointment

If you are fit enough you can get down to the ocean via a rough stony path surrounded by vegetation and full of lizards running away from you. It really fun also a very intense cardio workout coming back into that steep rocky hill. I would recommended this viewing dock. Restaurante Xarko Casa del Vino, located in El Sauzal on the beautiful north side of Tenerife, offers a memorable dining experience. The restaurant boasts a stunning terrace with panoramic views of the ocean and Teide volcano. Their brunch set menu is an excellent choice for those wanting to sample delicious canary products, and their selection of jams is impressive. Visitors can also explore an intriguing museum dedicated to wine traditions on the island.
What a wonderful restaurant. The food, service and location are 10/10! We enjoyed some delicious entrees (cheese croquettes and a beef ravioli) and then mains and desserts. I had the pork main dish and my partner had the fish of the day and we both sat silently enjoying every mouthful. If you’re unsure what to order, ask the team what they recommend and you won’t be disappointed. The service was sensational and the ambiance superb. If you’re looking for a nice evening out, then look no further. Enjoy!

It’s a nice restaurant with an amazing view over a vineyard where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets… But there is a lot to be improved. First of all the table was broken and the wine towel was dirty. The food was average and slightly overpriced. On the positive side, there is a great choice of Canarian Wine and desserts. I hope these issues will be fixed in the future so we can enjoy this lovely restaurant again.

Food was overall good but not stellar. Prawn ceviche plain weird, scallops truly excellent. Fish of the day slightly overcooked with too many extras and truffles ravioli great but that’s something that’s hard to spoil. The male waiter could not speak any foreign language and was slightly unpleasant. Dessert excessively sweet. Fine to try, the environment is really nice, but rather expensive for what they offer.

We came for a snack with children around 4 PM. We were waiting more than 15 minutes for the waiter who we find out was having a break ... He came to our table at 4:20 and told us their kitchen is already closed (it was written it should close at 4:30 PM). Our kids were very hungry so we have ordered some drinks and coffee. Another 10 minutes and incompleted order, so we have ordered again. We never get the original order. Why the guy is not writing down the order when he is unable to remember all stuff, I do not know... This caffees has a great location but the service is soo poor. Not mentioned that first time we came here we were refused to order just coffees, as that time was only brunches (but many empty tables). Do not recommend!

Absolutely lovely place in a very nice park. You have to do quite some stairs to get there though, no matter what side you come from, but it’s definitely very scenic. The food is simple and the service can be a bit slow. But if you have time, it’s certainly worth a visit.

Beautiful location in nature, be prepared to take a small hike down the stairs. The view is amazing! The food was just okay. I ordered a vegan toast to then be told the bread is not vegan. It had just some vegetables on it. I asked for some Avocado with it and in the end was charged 3,50€ for that, which is almost as much as the whole toast cost. There were two signs advertising free WiFi, but they told us there is no WiFi! Chairs were uncomfortable. Shame because the location is great.

This place is amazing! Great food! Beautiful view, simply the best place to eat brunch on the island !

The level of arrogance and poor communication skills of the waiters were truly outstanding. I barely ever experienced such behavior in Tenerife. Such a shame since the location and views are excellent. You are better off walking up to the main square and spend your time at Rico Rico.

Nestled in a somewhat tricky-to-reach location, Guachinche Natural is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly service that makes you feel right at home. While the menu may be simple, it offers delightful dishes like sirloin and eggs, as well as delicious chickpeas that are highly recommended.
It’s not a Guanchinche in the strictest sense (serves more than three dishes) but it was very good. Goats cheese to start and then a mix of pork loin and rubs with chips to follow. Brilliant setting. Very basic restaurant, which was exactly what we were looking for. Literally a 30 second walk away from the Monje vineyard and shop.

Nice views .very popular. Barbecue meat .Good service. Was not happy with the people smoking inside the eating area. I thought that was not allowed.so no 5 stars .sorry .

This "guachinche" is one of the most popular local restaurants in the area. It's menu is simple but various. The german sausages with spicy curry and the padron peppers are gorgeous. But I love overall the

Amazing place, food is great, owners are really nice and welcoming people, a bit hard to find but that's the beauty of it.

The carne fiesta melted in my mouth. The other food was good too, but expect quite greasy food.

(Translated by Google) It is recommended to go and try the chickpea. There is a small parking space upstairs, but it is better to leave it downstairs if you don't arrive early. Request a table in advance, especially for outside tables. As a curious fact, they allow you to bring your dog. Several tables had their pets under the table, of course, not a single bark was heard from them.

(Translated by Google) I must say that the place has everything to be a "guachinche": plastic tables, vegetation, Canarian food, but there are several things to improve, first they should insulate the electricity motor a little better because you can hear it from the dining room, then the times , it took them a while to bring the things and there weren't that many people. You have to be a little kinder to the customer, we asked for the chopped chicken and the answer was no, the food gets cold, then they didn't have a data phone but there were no signs to warn us and finally the price, they are very expensive for the quantity and for the rest of the things already mentioned (Original) Debo decir que el lugar tiene todo para ser un "guachinche" mesas de plástico, vegetación, comida canaria, pero hay varias cosas a mejorar, primero deberían de aislar un poco mejor el motor de electricidad pues se oye desde el comedor, después los tiempos, tardaron en traer las cosas y no había tanta gente.

(Translated by Google) It's a little difficult to get to but it's worth it. Cheap and delicious food, especially the sirloin and eggs! In addition, the waiter was very friendly and the place was cheap (but you can't pay by card). (Original) Es un poco difícil llegar pero merece la pena. Comida barata y deliciosa, en especial el solomillo y los huevos! Además el camarero muy amable y el sitio barato (pero no se puede pagar con tarjeta).
