Château de Sully-sur-Loire is a medieval fortress that was once the residence of the Dukes of Sully. It has a rich history, having been owned by the Dukes of Tremouille and even served as a prison for Joan of Arc. The castle features towers, a keep, rampart walk, and moats, making it an impressive sight. Inside, visitors can explore furnished interiors with paintings and tapestries on display.
Very nice castle, and despite not being one of the more famous and spectacular Loire Valley Châteaux, this smaller castle is a great choice if you want to avoid big crowds or spending a full day on one site. Especially the interiors showing the castle's different uses throughout the years, are beautifully done and definitely worth a visit.

Nice castle worth to visit. I took us approx. an hour with small kids.
It was amazing castle with so interesting history. If you want to travel at history , you should visit this castle. When u finish your visit , before left there have a big place like garden , u can take a chair and also rest there and enjoy the sun with amazing castle view. In shop also have good gifts to buy.
Beautiful castle. Restaured well. Wood of the roof repaired too, in good condition. Nice to walk around in the different chambers. Entrance price is 8 Euro per person. Price worth, we can advise this trip.
Parking next to the chateau was easy, not too busy and some spots in the shade.
There was no waiting time at the entry.
The family rate (22 euro for 2 adults and 2 kids) is friendly and not as harsh as the other chateaus we visited.
The chateau is nicely preserved or restored.
The structures inside are very interesting, especially if you consider it to be built so long ago.
They did a good job in explaining the use of the chateau during the centuries.
What I would like to give as a tip, make much of the French available information for kids available in other languages too. For instance the puzzle.
The Sully-sur-Loire castle amazed me with its atmosphere: it felt like you were transported to past centuries. Inside, there are preserved halls with furniture and paintings that create a living history. The surrounding area is very well-kept, it is pleasant to walk in the park and along the Loire - the views are stunning. Here you can combine cultural acquaintance with the history of France and a quiet holiday in nature.
It's what you would image a castle should look like, including a moat. The sun was shining and making for good photos today. The inside had many beautiful and interesting slights to see. There were many stairs to climb. So, if you have trouble walking up pie stairs, you might need to enjoy some of it inside and take pleasure in how beautiful it is on the outside. There were plenty of tapestries, furniture and paintings to view. The bedrooms were wonderful. When you go upstairs you can see how they constructed the roof. All and all it was a great time. I even ran out of charge to take more photos of the last rooms I visited. Also, the outside had some stunning sites for picture taking!

Just a pizzeria. My first open calzone. Not my best though. The owner is a funny guy and the waitress friendly. They did not seem to keen on accepting 4 customers at 2:00pm. The terrace offers a magnificent view of the moat and the castle, this makes up for the rest. Ok place to spend a moment with friends.
