Historical landmark
Najac Castle is a medieval fortress situated on a hilltop, offering guided tours and breathtaking views from its towers. Perched 150m above the River Aveyron, the castle's slender towers and crenellated ramparts create a fairy tale-like appearance. The village of Najac, with less than 1,000 inhabitants, provides a picturesque backdrop to the imposing structure.
Wonderful place to visit for a weekend 😍 the castle, streets and the forest are really nice. Looks small but you have too many things to do here. I recommend you to visit. I went by bike and it was really nice.

Fantastic place with incredible views. A bit of a hike but well worth the experience. A beautiful place to visit.

Beautiful town with a castle perched high on an escarpment. Alovely walk from the shop-lined square up to the castle. Climb the circular narrow stairs to the top of the keep for amazing views.
Sally A — Google review
When I was growing up there was a popular saying ‘Bacon and eggs, no thank you I’d rather wash my car’ As I walked around the castle at Najac I recalled this saying and processed to shout ‘I’d rather wash my car’ Surprisingly a man came up to me and said that it was about time
Andrew M — Google review
Interesting historical place. Great for a day out with the village next to it.
Thomas L — Google review
This fortress/castle is one of the most impressive ones you will ever see. It's the location that makes it. Sitting on a - at times steep - hill, you can see it from far away. And when you are walking down on the Rue Du Chateau (coming from the village), then it's just a sight to behold. It's picture-perfect. It goes a good way down from the village....until it goes back up again to reach the castle. It's a fairly short walk - a lot shorter than it might seem. If you have a stroller or a wheelchair it's quite an obstacle though. And the steep stairs and the cobble stones can get pretty slippery, even when it's not raining. So be aware of that and be careful. We didn't go inside the castle - we had our Bulldog with. But the best sight of it isn't up-close anyways...it's on Rue Du Chateau when you walk towards it. A wonderful, pretty and magical fortress. A must-see.

We took holiday in the beautiful Aveyron and visited the beau-village de Najac, where we were fortunate enough to to be guided through this wonderful place and partake in the great activities on offer courtesy of the Maison du Gouverneur. My wife and I loved the informative and lovely staff who really gave us some insight to the amazing fortress and village history (history is our thing!) and the children had a great time too, kept busy and entertained with the excellent activities on offer (no squabbles from the children all day, which must be a first! 😂 ). All in all, it was an 11/10 experience which we thoroughly recommend to all young or old, lone travellers, couples or family! Thank you all the staff at Maison du Gouverneur à la prochaine! 😊

An original game/entertainment, in a superb location full of history(ies), hosted by village residents (including members of the municipal council who are very amusing to see "out of context" ;-)). French restaurant
L'Air du Temps, located in Najac, stands out from other tourist-centric establishments by offering a unique dining experience. Unlike many places in the area, this restaurant does not simply cater to tourists. The chef takes pride in changing the menu almost daily and meticulously prepares each dish with great care, even offering special menus for children. Having dined here for three consecutive nights, I can confidently say that L'Air du Temps is the top choice for dinner in Najac.
With my friend, we ate Galette with duck, cheese and potatoes. it was delicious. Service was excellent even without English speaking staff.

Wonderful experience. Despite not speaking English, the hostess was charm personified and we were able to communicate perfectly. As well as being extremely hospitable and accommodating, the food was excellent. Also, don’t miss the incredible view at the back. Thank you!

Simply mean. Was spoken to like a peasant, as if i was a bad person. I wanted to have a coke but apparently that was not enough to sit down. Unbelievably rude. Do not recommend at all.

Nice people served us. It's one of the only open restaurants in the low season (we went in December). Food is good.
Yoel A — Google review
Open all year, this is a friendly restaurant serving good food and stocking locally brewed beers. Excellent chips... 👍😁
Gene H — Google review
In a place like Najac is normal to take the easy way and simply cater to tourists... L'air du Temps doesn't do this. The chef changes the menu almost everyday and he prepares the food with care, even child menus! I had dinner in this restaurant for three consecutive nights and could taste many of the chef's best dishes, I dare to state it is the best place to have dinner in Najac.

Very friendly owners and staff - warm hospitality (and generous free coffee on the last morning). Hotel restaurant also good with all the local specialities. Reasonably priced. Location near the river is nice, with a pleasant, easy walk up to the town of Najac.

A cosy family run hôtel in the midst of nature. Nice pool, great views and very hospitable owners. Close to the center of town, the train station and the activities center AAGAC. Ideal for a relaxing getaway in a very friendly atmosphere.
George K — Google review
Food was great, the hotel is expensive for what you get and a vertical walk up to the town centre. The worst part however was the response we received when letting the owners know we found bed bugs. They tried to tell us we brought bug's in after we went for a walk, extremely disappointed, we had already paid our bill, simply wanted to let them know particularly with the bed bug infestation in France right now.

Lovely Country hotel with comfortable rooms that are adequate for all your needs. Extensive grounds and swimming pool. Location is superb - you can even get here by train from Toulouse!! The Fortress on top of the hill is in clear view and makes a nice walk. That will set you up for a dinner cooked by a talented chef, served with local wines. Huge terrace for outdoors eating. A gastronomic pleasure

We only went to the restaurant and we enjoyed a fine dinner for a very reasonable price. Local dishes were tasty. Very friendly staff. We requested a table outside on the terras with a nice view on the castle of Najac and they also putt up a table inside since they were expecting rain. We enjoyed a fine meal. Also meals for the kids. We will certainly return.

What a quirky garden! We enjoyed our visit to this garden , full of individual spaces dedicated to different countries. So much work has gone into it I er the years. Kids would love it too. Take a picnic as there are lots of seats dotted about in the same generous spirit of the garden.

What a fantastic place! Beautiful, relaxing, full of Bee’s, so peaceful. Gravel paths wind through the different garden styles and the views are amazing. Not particularly wheelchair friendly in places due to gravel paths and some steep pathways, but we managed to get around.

An amazing garden split into a series of ‘rooms’ each with a different theme. A huge range of plants and numerous places to sit and admire. We got there as it opened and had the place to ourselves. Really worth a visit. There is even a place set aside for a picnic.

Fascinating gardens with some lovely sections. It had new areas being built we must return to see. Querky self service/making tea and coffee facilities but could not get kettle or coffee maker to work. If you like gardens, search this place out for easy couple of hours stroll in these beautiful gardens.

One of the prettiest gardens I have been too. A fresh approach with varied displays based on different countries. It is not thematic in the slightest. Maintained by imaginative gardening and artist planting. Drawing in all kinds of wild life. The Australian garden is quirky and the frogs in the Indian garden are a surprising delight. Some refreshments are available but a picnic would add to the occasion
