Cascada de Orbaneja del Castillo is a stunning natural wonder located in a picturesque village. The river cascades over rocky tiers and through a tunnel, creating a beautiful blue pool. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking views of the waterfall and pools, as well as explore the quaint village perched at the top of the falls. The area is known for its incredible natural beauty, with large rock formations and pristine waterfalls adding to its charm.
The most beautiful little town with the best waterfall!! Absolutely magical! We did not get to go into the caves, we got there a bit late. But non the less, we loved walking around and enjoying the scenery and buying souvenirs.

A village built on the falls. amazing beauty. We didn't go all the way up the stairs, but the whole waterfall and pool area is excellent. There is plenty of parking. It is forbidden to enter the pools

Cueva del Agua

Observation deck
Cueva del Agua is a small cave located in the picturesque Karstic environment of Orbaneja del Castillo, nestled on the left bank of the Ebro River. It serves as an upwelling for an underground river that gathers waters from around 25 km away. The cave is a natural marvel illuminated only by artificial lighting, making it essential to explore with caution and suitable footwear. Although closed on weekdays, it opens its doors to visitors on weekends and holidays.
Super cheap ticket. Says it’s 15 min walk but it’s more like 5. But super fun and quite nice. Also the water tap before the entrance has free yummy water
Eli — Google review
(Translated by Google) If you're going with small children, you'll love it! The views from the cave's exit, from the village, are worth it. The walk is short, and ends with a visit to the source of the stream that feeds the waterfall. The ground is unprepared, so be careful not to twist your ankles. It's part of the Orbaneja complex... Admission is €2.

(Translated by Google) A visit to Orbaneja del Castillo is a must. Incidentally, it doesn't have a castle, but it does have a karst structure, like a defensive wall, that surrounds a good part of the town. It's also essential to bring food and drink, otherwise, if you go there haphazardly, you'll go hungry and thirsty. Before reaching the town, there are some parking areas on the left, which I recommend using. Orbaneja del Castillo is a natural gem where you'll be able to fully utilize both your eyes and your legs. My recommendation is to wander around every corner and, of course, visit the Cueva del Agua (Water Cave). Orbaneja del Castillo isn't right around the corner, which means you'll spend the whole day there. Enjoy it.

You don't need to bend down or go through difficult areas. Admission is a small fee of €2 per person. The tour takes 15 minutes round trip, but take it easy and enjoy it. It's a must-see in the village. You can also climb to the upper part above the cave for free and view the valley below. (Original) Son 3 principales cuevas en este valle. Risco los Camellos is a fascinating geological formation located near the town of Orbaneja. It is visible from various points in the town and represents the kiss of two camels, with the interior displaying a map of the African continent. While not widely known, it is possible to climb this unique cliff by taking a narrow path that leads to its summit. However, visitors should be cautious as there is no cell phone signal in the town itself.

In this case it seems that the camels have their figures represented in stone here and I will not be the one to contradict it. (Translated by Google) Although most people are unaware of it and almost no one does it, you can climb the Camel Cliff. We took the easiest route. From the town we cross the bridge over the river, turn left and after a few meters of walking you take a narrow path that goes out to the right, and you begin to climb. This path takes you to the so-called castle summit, right in front of Orbaneja. Shortly before reaching the top, a path appears on the left that takes you to the Camel Cliff. Stunning views of Orbaneja from here. In total there are about 5 kilometers of not very demanding walking. It's worth it.

Guests rave about the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, making it an inviting place to relax, whether you're enjoying a full meal or just stopping by for coffee. The menu features local dishes alongside a fantastic "menu del dia," which even includes a lovely bottle of Rioja.
Opening times vary but definitely worth visiting. From outside you have no idea how big the outside terrace is on two levels... accessed by going through the inside bar amd eating area. Dogs welcome. Great views from the shady terrace. Lovely staff and great service. Fabulous "menu del día" that includes a bottle of really nice Rioja. Whilst the other restaurants serve raciones and tapas, El Risco has an interesting menu including local dishes. Recommended 👏👏👏

We let them know, and they saved our table without any problem. We were on the terrace, where they have four tables. Although it took a little longer than expected to serve us, they served all the dishes very quickly. Of the starters, the fabada was the best; it had an incredible flavor. The chickpeas lacked some substance. The salad was good. Of the main courses, I don't recommend the duck at all; it was overcooked. We were very surprised by the scrambled eggs; it was brutal. The secret was perfect. Of the desserts, the Santiago cake was the best. The eclair wasn't good, and the quesada was just plain. Thank you very much. We would recommend it and would come back if we return. (Translated by Google) A few days ago, a group of us from Granada visited Pontedey and all the beautiful spots along the way. We stopped to visit some wonderful waterfalls, and there we were lucky enough to find this restaurant. It's truly worth climbing all the steps that surround the waterfalls to reach the restaurant. The food is exceptional, the hospitality is exceptional, and the service is unparalleled. In short, a place that enhances the charm of the place. My sincere congratulations. Places like this make Burgos an incomparable place.
