Sudbury is a major gateway to Northern Ontario’s lakes and forests, offering easy access to boating, fishing, and outdoor adventures in every season. The city is known for Science North and Dynamic Earth, interactive science museums that include the famous Big Nickel and exhibits on mining and geology. Its extensive network of urban trails, nearby provincial parks, and over 300 lakes within city limits make it popular for hiking, paddling, and snow sports. With favorites like Montana’s BBQ & Bar, Swiss Chalet, and Mr Prime Rib, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Bella Vita Cucina and Swiss Chalet so you can get the best taste of Sudbury while you’re here. Department store
Costco Wholesale is a members-only warehouse that offers an extensive range of products, making it a one-stop shopping destination for all your needs. From bulk groceries to electronics and home goods, this retail giant has something for everyone. The knowledgeable staff are always on hand to assist you in finding exactly what you're looking for, enhancing the overall shopping experience. Accessibility is also a highlight, with convenient bus stops and pedestrian-friendly access right at the entrance.
Amazing place! I went here around May of this year while visiting my grandparents, and I want to leave a review just because this place is amazing. Getting a Costco membership will always be worth it, there are so many things you can buy ranging from food and other household items. The staff are very kind and helpful. However, the best part of the Costco is the amazing food court with the cheapest prices ever. I hope they never increase the price of the hot dog combo cause it really helps people out when they want a cheap food option.

Great, clean, usual Costco chaos. No issues, nice staff, clean store. Bit of a traffic jam with pedestrians and vehicles at the front of store.
Johan O — Google review
There are so many great deals, but actually it depends on the date and season. Most of the time stocks selling fast when there is a better deal. I found Costco with the best gas prices… it always few bucks cheaper than other fuel stations. Love their garlic bread, muffins, fruits and fresh produce sections as well as other home appliances, most of the time quality is better…
Rakshitha D — Google review
I like Costco overall and usually there are good products. I am trying to buy Canada products so I bought Canadian fresh strawberries As the photo shows, they are not all fresh
Karol R — Google review
Best place to get food and supplies. Also the only place in Sudbury to get decent priced gasoline!
James L — Google review
I’ve been paying attention to Costco‘s prices for the last little bit. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s no longer cheaper shopping at Costco like it was a few years ago. Their prices are just no longer competitive. Their meat prices, especially for beef is comparable to going to an actual butcher, as well as even their online store you could search the same product and find it cheaper somewhere else. Not to mention when they first opened the gas station they published an article stating that they would always stay up to three cents cheaper than other gas stations. However, lately that has not been the case and it shows me that Costco is just another greedy corporation trying to maximize their dollar while miss directing their customers. There’s no reason that Costco‘s prices should be climbing, considering the quantity that they sell. Yes I realize inflation and the rising costs of goods, however, years ago they were able to stay competitive and now not so much.

No regrets with getting a membership. This store never disappoints me. Huge variety of everything, and best place to get gas in Sudbury!

Heads up to Indigenous Peoples, before waiting in line at self checkout to find out the long/hard way, Status First Nation Indians are not permitted to use the self checkout and will be routed to main checkouts to re-wait in line for service was occurred to me on September 26, 2025. No signage is posted signalling that Indigenous peoples can not use Self-checkout however after waiting in line & scanning items, staff will void your purchase and direct you to main checkouts.

M.I.C. Canadian Eatery & Whisky Pub is a cozy establishment adorned with pictures of famous Canadian figures, offering an extensive variety of whiskies and comforting cuisine. This authentic Canadian restaurant presents a diverse menu that includes delectable options like smoked meat sandwiches, buffalo chicken poutines, chili-topped steaks, and towering barbecue burgers. The whisky selection is unparalleled, ranging from the sophisticated Crown Royal Extra Rare to refreshing daiquiris and whisky sours.
It was a lot of delicious food. We enjoyed it lots. My partner ordered the prime rib and brisket combo and I got the 6 bone prime ribs, the server talked me into trying the whiskey peach ribs, its like the end of a special. I genuinely love the flavour but the smoked ribs were very small compared to the regular ribs.

Canadian-style pub / family restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Love the decor and the big map of Canada. Feels cozy and they have a nice patio as well. This place is great for big groups. Food was good but not great. I had the seafood pasta. Portion was a bit small. Disappointed by the beer and wine selection (knowing that there are so many micro breweries in the region). Waitress didn’t know much about the beer menu. That being said, their cocktail and whisky selection is great.

All Canadian, All the Time 🇨🇦 As a retired hospitality professional, I'm recommending you gotta eat here. Reasonably priced with a great vibe. Their is an overall product and service passion here. Will be going back for a second night feed while in Sudbury. First night, tried a couple custom Caesars, mushroom neptune, and the nine rib bones were bang on. The apres diner whiskey surprise was the Glen Breton Single Malt. Having been to Glenora Distillery in Nova Scotia last year, this was a treat 🥃 PS: Well done on this find as is recognized as the first single malt distillery in Canada. Thanks Christine for the wonderful service. We ordered apps and mains together, you picked up that we weren't in a hurry, and brought out the courses in a properly timed fashion. You were not overwhelming as some servers can be. Your attention to the table and detail was perfect!!

Noticed this placed while driving by. Sells all Canadian food and beverages. Menu had lots of options and food was great. Waitress was also very helpful. Will definitely be back.

We stopped in here while staying near sudbury, so glad we did. The resturant has great vibes. We sat at the bar side, great beer selection. The menu was huge, so many great options. The food came out fast and hot and everything we ordered was extremely delicious. All the staff members were friendly and attentive, we enjoyed every minute here.

Apparently busy for Thursday night and after almost an hour of waiting for my food, I inquired with the server who had been avoiding eye contact with me. Unapologetically told me “kitchen is busy and there’s a large group on the other side” OK. Well would’ve been nice to have any update along the way Mac & cheese balls were tasty. Meatloaf was a bit dry, but had good flavour.

i ordered the due south cobb salad with chicken, and my mom got the smoked club sandwich with wild rice and chicken soup. everything tasted amazing, great quality of food! i especially enjoyed the ham in my salad, it tasted like it was smoked!! super yummy, very pleasant surprise🥰 the service was great, i didn’t catch our waitresses name but she was lovely, always being sure to check up on us. i gave 4 stars for the atmosphere because it felt a bit dark, and lack luster; as what appeared to be a fish tank in the middle of the room was empty. although we did quite enjoy having our own tv at the booth! ❤️ will be returning soon!

I don't usually do reviews like this, but we had a fantastic time! Our server Nick was like heaven on earth ♥️ We had a longer wait, but he made it worth it. He recommended the best waffles ever, and he made our day after getting up on the wrong side of the bed. He was our little ball of sunshine, please please please give this man a raise, I would love to see him more. He made everything that much brighter!! I will definitely be coming back as long as he is our server ♥️♥️♥️

This is an exceptional location. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly staff person, who seated us at a table that was clean and spacious. The server who then took our order exuded professionalism combined with warmth. Trina is an exemplary ambassador for Coras restaurants; deep investment in her work is evident. The food here was delicious and plentiful, matching the superb service. One item of interest was the use of a robot which assists servers in the transport of dishes and prepared food. It was fun watching it!

Been to this Cora location before and never had an experience like this. Today, we waited over 40 minutes for our food, what made it worse was that after we finished eating, we had to ask three times before someone finally came over to help us to pay. The restaurant wasn’t even busy—staff were either cleaning tables or refilling coffee for other customers, while completely ignoring us, even when I stood up to show we were clearly ready to leave. Don’t even know if we were being treated differently on purpose😅 Hope the manager will train their staff better or hire more people if they are short-staffed😅

My family and we had a wonderful day today for a late breakfast. The staff were amazing, the food was heavenly. My 14 year old son enjoyed the food so much that out of nowhere he asked the waiter if they were hiring. Our waiter was so nice that she let the manager know about his inquiry. To my surprise the owner of the restaurant came to talk to him and offered him advice. What an amazing show of professionalism and humility that the owner had to come and talk to our son. Isn't it overwhelmingly great that my son wante to be part of this amazing team. Kudos to all the staff at Cora Sudbury

It had been a while since I've been to this mall. Not because it was out of my way but because it was a "Sudbury Mall." I was happy yo see how clean it was kept as well as security walking around troubled areas. Saw a few cleaning staff as well doing an amazing job for a busy Saturday morning. I'm thinking I'll probably be going back there to see all the different stores that have shown up. It's great to see it not go downhill like so many other ones! Keep up the great work in a time where the brick and motar stores are suffering due to the online shopping. A+++

Great service in all but one of the stores we went to. Unfortunately, the staff in the make-up area of Shoppers Drug Mart were rude and had a bad attitude. I left with the few purchases I had, and decided to buy the other things I wanted elsewhere.

This is the best shopping mall in all of Northern Ontario. The largest mall in Sudbury! Love the architectural details of their food court which has almost a dozen of great choices such as Thai, Culture, Greek, Chinese, A&W and Tim Hortons. The mall has from Lululemon to Walmart. Kids love Showcase and Claire. Also the largest Sportchek in Northern Ontario.

Tucos Taco Lounge is a vibrant and cheerful outpost in Sudbury, offering creative vegan Mexican cuisine, cocktails, and draft brews. The restaurant's patio exudes a rustic charm with wooden tables and pops of pastel colors. Despite being a vegan establishment, Tucos has won over many meat lovers with its fresh and flavorful dishes influenced by Mexico and Central America.
This is without a doubt the greatest thing about Sudbury. My friend and I will gladly make the two hour drive just for Tucos. Everything about it is amazing. The food, the people, the customers, the atmosphere, the cool logo sign, the portions, the clean bathrooms, the wait times, the fact that there's hand made vegan dessert across the street, etc. It's all just 10/10
Callum O — Google review
I enjoyed my crunchwrap supremo. My mezcal mule was also quite refreshing. Atmosphere was cozy with funky music playing. They also have a deck which is no doubt a vibe of its own. I admit of have little experience with vegan food but the reviews were positive and the pictures all look delicious so i figured why not. I was not disappointed. I would go back, next time for nachos or tacos. Will update review and post pics if i make it back.
Mike M — Google review
To be honest, I took my wife to Tucos Taco Lounge solely based on the high rating without realizing that it is a vegetarian restaurant. Until the food started to arrive, I was walking on thin ice. However, the food quality was so good that my wife enjoyed the meal and now we are thinking of trying to recreate the dishes that we had. Only advice: The 'Good' Mac N Cheese Burrito is quite bland and requires salt and/or cholula. I highly recommend the cholula!

A superb restaurant with the most delicious tacos and nachos served with a smile. It is laid back and can result in a slow yet memorable evening. One of the best places in Sudbury.
Chandra D — Google review
Staff was friendly, food was great for vegan, although for a taco place I would have expected to taste chili powder but there was zero.
Gaetanne G — Google review
This was my second time, but first on the patio. I really enjoyed the food, even as a non-vegan. Only negative was - it felt almost like the service forgot about us, and we had to go find someone to ask for more napkins or cutlery.
Collin D — Google review
We have stopped at Tucos Taco Lounge on the way through Sudbury a few times and are always impressed with the staff, atmosphere and the selection of food. On this occasion I ordered Sopos and they were almost too cute to eat - see picture. I’ve also tried the nachos and chilli tacos both of which were great. They have a wide variety of veganized Mexican dishes. While I’m not strictly a vegan, for health reasons l limit my meat intake. I wish there were more Tucos around!!
David M — Google review
Stopped overnight in Sudbury on our long journey back to Ontario from Saskatchewan and what a gold mine we found in this little gem of a vegan restaurant, Tucos Taco Lounge. Lots of choice on the menu and OMG the serving sizes are HUGE. I had the original nachos and a small side macaroni & cheese and my husband had the asada burrito (with soy chicken) and a side of chilli. Everything was excellent! No surprise we brought some back to the hotel with us. We also brought some churros to go and they were equally decadent. Our server was excellent! In fact, all the staff were friendly. When we left we were met with “have a great night”, and “thanks for coming” by many of the staff as we passed them by. They have a lovely outdoor patio as well which is lit up. Most of the entrées are about $18-$22.00. Love that the small side Mac & cheese is just $5.00. They have a good range of beer and drink options too. If you are ever in Sudbury, or even just passing through, this all vegan restaurant is a must!

An EASY five stars. Although I should start with the food - which was extraordinary - I must start with the owners and staff. What simply lovely, hospitable people. They seem to have a passion for their cuisine and service. I had had a busy week delivering training and we were looking for a great restaurant to unwind. This was the "Chosen One". The food was fabulous! Salad, salmon and scalops to start; risotto and penn alla vodka for mains; followed by cheescake and profiteroles (made in house). This restaurant deserves to be packed out. PS the musician added exactly the right amount of "atmosphere"

Had a wonderful time with the servers Alisha and Madison (especially since she was new) as they were lovely to have as servers The Cheese Garlic Bread appetizer was really good, and the Cheesy pierogies were always phenomenal (especially with the Cajun Sour cream, yum) I can't speak for the person with me, but, my burger and fry was great as always. We came in as a group of 13 and needed to squeeze in a few extra chairs, but Chad and Rohan handled it like pros. Super friendly and made us feel right at home. Big thanks to them for the great service and chill vibes!

Had the pork ribs and mashed potatoes. With a side of brisket. Came with a small half rack with very little meat for 30$ but they where good. The sauce was great. The two scoops of mashed potatoes where good but the skins where left in and they where pretty salty. But not bad. The worst part was the beef brisket. Stewing beef quality. It was falling apart because it had been cooked for a long time but it was chewey like boot leather. Not soft good quality beef. The server was not great either. They could not make fries and accommodate for celiac. They refused to replace the breaded chicken on the platter saying it's a fixed platter. It was just not a great experience. Not going back. Went a few weeks ago also and had a great server. I got the burger which was processed. Had a gluten free bun that just fell apart and tasted pretty bad. Very little slice of cheese. Good bacon but for the price it didn't work for me. Also had to have a baked potato with it because they have no dedicated fryers.

I visited Montana’s for the first time today and had an awesome experience! My waitress, Alivia, was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was delicious, and her great service really made the visit stand out. Definitely coming back and asking for her again! — she deserves recognition for doing such a great job!

I had such a great experience at Madison’s! The atmosphere was lovely, and the food came out fresh and delicious. Our waitress, Madi, was absolutely amazing, super friendly, attentive, and just had such a great vibe! She really made our visit enjoyable. Definitely coming back again soon!

We had such a great experience at Montana’s thanks to our server, Mackenzie! From the moment we sat down, she made us feel so welcome and taken care of. She was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing, our drinks were always topped up, and she checked in at just the right times. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism with such a personable touch, but she did it perfectly. Our whole table agreed she made the night so much better. We'll definitely be asking for her again next time we come back!

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Very busy but it was handled well. We didnt wait terribly long for our food. Our server Madi was present and making sure we were taken care of. Great food and service. No complaints.

Steak house
Mr Prime Rib, a long-standing Sudbury establishment since 1967, is a family-owned restaurant known for its top-quality prime rib, steak, and shellfish. Originally opened as U & Restaurant by the Roumanes family, it has become a go-to destination for an exceptional grill experience. The restaurant also caters to large private parties of up to 50 people. Visitors praise the fine dining quality food served in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service.
I've had my fair share of Prime Rib, but this place has it perfect. My husband likes Medium, which means pink but not bloody. It was perfect. Mine was medium rare, also perfect. Our server was gracious, friendly and welcoming. 58 years in business and still Fabulous. I highly recommend.

Went for the first time after hearing good things. We got the filet and prime rib (how do you go to a place called Mr Prime Rib and not get it). Both had little to no flavour. The most flavourful part was the char marks on the filet. I've had plenty of Prime Rib and have to say this has to be the worst I've had. Didn't taste bad but didn't taste like anything at all. The seats were terribly uncomfortable and over all the atmosphere just felt dated. Service was decent. I'm sure this place was probably amazing in the past but doesn't seem to have stood the test of time. Won't be going back and cannot recommend this place at all.

Haven't been in a long time. So impressed. Food was spectacular, escargot, calamari (so tender), Chicken a la Maison (quite possibly the best chicken I've ever had). We also had pasta and steak, loved it. And then my bday husband had raspberry cheesecake, on the house. Decadent. Pretty packed for a Thursday night, I recommend a reservation. Thank you Mr. Prime Rib. Fantastic

The steaks were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Appetizers were good too. But one should order coffee somewhere else.

Google says it closes at 8 because that is when the kitchen closes. Website says it closes at 8:30 because that is when the restaurant closes. The prime rib was so tender and flavourful. The french onion soup had a thick layer of cheese and croutons. I think the prime rib is better than some high end restaurant chains in Ontario. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in the area.

Had a wonderful experience dining at Mr Prime Rib! The food was excellent and ready shockingly fast. I don't think it took more than five minutes from placing my order for it to be brought out. My server (Julie) was great and checked in on me frequently. I ordered the Prime Rib (medium rare) & Pasta, which was delicious and perfectly cooked. If I had to leave a note, the pasta sauce was a little on the salty side but not overbearingly so. To finish off I got the Raspberry cheesecake, which was absolutely perfect! From texture to sweetness level I have no notes except keep making it! Overall 10/10 will definitely eat there again and will recommend to anyone looking for a intimate date night with some of the best food in town.

Food was as good as the keg. However, the service was annoyingly SSSSLLLLOOOOWWW. After 2 hours we asked for the cheque. I would have spent a lot more money if the service wasn't so absentee and SLOW! I probably won't return anytime soon. Very average experience. I will choose another place to celebrate a birthday in the future.

My first time dining here. Heard lots of good things through friends and family so thought I’d give it a try for my gfs birthday. We had the stuffed shrimp and a drink each to start. For our main, we both had a 7oz steak w lobster. Plus mushrooms, vegetable medley and garlic mashed potatoes. Also had a dessert each. My gfs dessert was free since it was her birthday which we appreciated. The shrimp and steak were good but the lobster was a bit tough. I thought the lobster maybe have had a bit of seasoning on it but it was just butter on the side. The waitress was great. She was attentive but not interruptive. I did enjoy that you did not have to wait long for your food. Service and orders were prompt and well done. I do realize the cost of everything has went up but with a tip, the meal was just shy of $300. Definitely not cheap and I guess I expected a bit more Wow factor when it came to the meals. It was a fairly standard steak meal. I will give this place another try because there were a lot more options on the menu that sounded good. I’d also rather support a long standing local restaurant than chain restaurants.
