Encinitas in 3 days

If you only have 3 days to spend in Encinitas, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Encinitas offers classic Southern California beach culture, with long sandy stretches like Moonlight State Beach and great surf breaks at Swami’s. Its walkable downtown is lined with independent shops, casual cafes, and laid-back bars that keep the town feeling low-key and local. Visitors can explore the peaceful Self-Realization Fellowship gardens perched above the ocean or wander through the San Diego Botanic Garden’s varied plant collections. With mild weather year-round and a relaxed vibe, it’s an easygoing base for enjoying the coast.
With favorites like Solterra Winery & Kitchen, Lazy Acres Market - Encinitas, and Swami's Cafe Encinitas 101, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Vigilucci's Trattoria and Panda Express so you can get the best taste of Encinitas while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
LEGOLAND California Resort is a vibrant destination in Carlsbad, California, just north of San Diego. The resort features a lively hotel with LEGO-themed quarters and amenities like dining, an outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. The hands-on theme park offers over 60 themed rides and interactive attractions for kids aged two to twelve. Additionally, the SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Water Park provide entertainment for the entire family.
We had such a great time. I feel its better than the zoo and maybe even Sea World. We'll at least for a 4 year old. The employees are really kind young kids, which gives me hope for the future. A young man named Juan even rode with my daughter, because we waited in line and it was just me and a 6 month old, so I wasn't able to go. He really made my daughter's day. That was so kind. The pizza, pasta and salad buffet was great. Had nice outdoor seating too. The Trick-or-Treating even was awesome. They gave out huge bags of candy that I saw all parents eating 😀. There are a ton of really neat parks with big slides and all sorts of fun stuff for them to climb on. A great way for parents to get a little rest in. We will definitely be back!!

We had such a great time at LEGOLAND! There are so many fun things to see and do — way more than I expected. The creativity behind all the LEGO designs and attractions is amazing, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The aquarium is definitely worth visiting — it was one of my favorite parts of the day! There’s a great variety of animals and it’s really well done. However, the park really needs better maintenance. A lot of things were dusty, faded, or missing pieces, some water features weren’t working, and a few attractions were closed. It’s still a fun experience, but I’d love to come back when everything’s fully restored and running at 100%!

First time Vacation at Legoland! We had our 8, 7 and 3 year old and my in laws with their 3 year old. I would say that this theme park is definitely for under 10 unless your kids love more action/activities then it might not be for them. Let me say this...Lego masterpieces everywhere!!!!! Amazing how all was put together to show a little of everything. We started our Sunday with Sealife and then headed to the Brick or Treat event. Kids were dressed up and they were given small bags for candies. Now the candy stations (less than 10 stations) were in certain areas and at times a little confusing with everything that was going on. I feel like it would be nice and easier if candies were to be handed out in front of the rides but thats just me. There was no waiting times during our Sunday night. They were able to get into a few rides as well as enjoying the lego art. Monday visit was a bit more busy and humid. We waited almost 20-30 minutes for the roller coaster and the duplo train ride. Other rides were less than 10 minutes. Most rides that include parents with young children have a weight limit of 330 pounds for the seat. Luckily we were able to take turns and enjoy some rides with our boys. Like i had said previously the rides are definitely for younger kids and they only last maybe less than 2 minutes and have little to no motion. My two older boys enjoyed the roller coaster and the ride that goes up and down(its in my pictures). We did a few family group rides like the big boat ride that takes you along the lake, the duplo train, and the submarine ride. We also bought the 2 day cup and the popcorn bucket but unlike other theme parks, the freestyle machines were not everywhere so it was pointless and the popcorn bucket was only refillable at that kiosk from what we saw because we asked around a few places and those places had no popcorn. The one thing that I don't know how to take it as is at this lego car exhibit my brother in law took my boys to see the car and apparently as soon as they went in the male employee there told him- that there was nothing exciting to see and dont waste your time there and instead go on the rides- so whatever his intentions were we'll never know but my son loves hot wheels so he was interested in looking at that car. So now that I pointed out my experiences I want to say that we had fun, and a few meh moments and for us it was a one time thing. Staff was friendly in the park and hotel.

Title: Not Worth the Price — Disappointing Stay for $700 a Night I booked a fully themed “Friends” room at Legoland Hotel California to celebrate my grandchild’s birthday one November 1, 2025 for one Night. Honestly, for the $700 I paid for one night, it was not worth it. I hope this review helps anyone deciding whether to book here. The room was very small and felt extremely crowded. We were given one king bed, plus a bunk bed and a pull-out bed, which sounds great but left almost no space to move around. The furniture looked old-fashioned and worn out — some pieces were chipped, the wallpaper was scratched, and parts were even peeling off. Around 4 a.m., I tried turning on the TV, but it wasn’t working. The screen said to call the cable operator, so I contacted the front desk. They told me I had to wait until 7 a.m. for someone to come in and call the company. The room was generally clean, but it was clear that cleaning was only done on the surface — not in detail. I have asthma, and I could feel dust irritation right away. Also, please note: the photos you see online when booking are not what the rooms actually look like. The hotel’s biggest advantage is that it’s right next to the park, which is convenient, but honestly, you’re better off staying at one of the nearby hotels that offer more space and comfort — especially if you’re traveling with kids.

I had a great time at Legoland with my family! The park was full of color, creativity, and fun activities for everyone. My son absolutely loved it — from the Lego-themed rides to building his own creations, he didn’t stop smiling the whole day. The miniature Lego cities were amazing to see up close, and we all enjoyed exploring together. It was such a wonderful family day out, and we’re already talking about going back!
Abhishek K — Google review
I used to work at Legoland so visiting as a customer was a little unreal. It's definitly more fun as a customer. Almost all the rides have changed and the ones still there have new names. I don't know why they changed storytale brooks but kept the boats and the beanstalk, but it made it feel like a cookie I unlocked. Didn't care for the new name, fairytale was better, more catchy. I wish the trouble bus ride line had more shade. There is literally shade surrounding the lines and it would be so easy to put a shade screen to cover the middle spot. Having a kids build area in the middle is a nice touch. Build and test is crazy different, but I like it more. No more having to deal with checking tires in and out. Mindstorms is gone which was really sad - programming robots used to be my favorite thing at the park. My kid really enjoys the water park. I wish they had a swim pool that wasn't the lazy river that was shallow enough for little kids and deep enough for adults. They have something close by the slide but it's slightly too shallow for full adult comfort. Employees were friendly and professional as standard - Lego employees who aren't awesome get fired pretty quickly. Lego has pretty high standards for a minimum wage no top job. All in all we had a great time, the kids love going and it does feel worth the price for the year pass.

I love Legoland! This time of year they are doing construction on the other side of the park. The Lego movie ride is epic and entertaining! I forgot to mention the Big Store is currently closed for remodeling so they have a temporary store for some of the lego sets.

We came here mid-day on a Monday October 6, 2025. Legoland is located in sunny Carlsbad, California. There is a very big parking area and rates start from $36.00 for regular all day parking. There is even vallet parking which will cost you a pretty penny. When we arrived the lady at the front counter was informative, friendly and professional. Buy your tickets online if possible. It's way cheaper than paying at the ticket counter. Once we got through the entrance, we noticed the park is clean and well kept. The Legoland park is big. Lots to see and do. As it is October the theme park has a bunch of Halloween decorations up currently. The park is attached to the hotel resort. A single night in a hotel room will run you upwards of $300.00 or more. The rooms are based on themes. My family and I made our first stop at the Pizza and Pasta buffet having skipped breakfast and snacks and drove for over an hour on the I 5. It cost $76 for a family of three. The pizza and pasta are bottomless as well as the soda pop. After lunch we set out to see the sights. I knew the park was big but I wasn't aware how massive and spread out the property really is. I have including a pic of the park's map in this review. Too many places to name. The boat ride around miniature land is amazing and I totally recommend checking out Legoland Movie World and taking a ride on Emmet's Flying Adventure. It's basically a large screen simulator with immersive features such as spraying mist and drizzle as you and your family fly through the clouds. I would recommend coming early so you can make the most of this magical adventure. 5 stars 💫💫💫💫💫Enjoy!

This place is so cute. There are a lot of different areas to sit in both inside and outside. I love the big chairs that sit under the tree. The coffee is really good and not bitter. We had a very delicious croissant. We also had a bagel sandwich that was super good. The star of the show is the coffee.

Great place for an awesome breakfast. Enjoyed a scooped wheat bagel with egg and cheese, bagel with lox and cream cheese as well as a delicious pumpkin muffin. The hot cafe latte was perfect! The selection of delicious pastries and friendly staff made it a first time very pleasant experience! Definitely recommend and would love to return.

Really tried liking this place but I’ve never been impressed, especially with how much you’re paying. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and asked them to add on bacon (extra $3). Paid $8 for a matcha latte that literally tasted like 90% water. Got my breakfast sandwich and turns out their $3 bacon comes from a bag of bacon bits. $3 for bacon bits is crazy. Not to mention the not so friendly staff this time around. This place is cute but I am consistently disappointed every time.

Cool coffee shop built into a historic train station. There is a large indoor and outdoor seating for hanging out (no wifi if you are trying to work). Coffee and food that we had was good...decent amount of food options beyond just pastries. Service was friendly...though took some time with how busy it was. There was a pretty consistent line out the door through the whole time we were there on a Saturday morning. Cool spot...would definitely go back.
Kevin M — Google review
Recently tried this unique coffee spot after living in the area for years and we were pleasantly surprised! Our group ordered an assortment of baked goods from these huge muffins, cookies, pastries and even this savory cheese bread and they were all amazing! The baked good section is a little chaotic but it fits well with the “old timey” charm of the place. Very cool place to come enjoy a fair priced, eclectic, coffee shop in Encinitas. We’ll take this spot over a commercial coffee joint any day. Come for the vibes, stay for their incredible cheese bread bacon thing!

Good coffee! Friendly ladies working too. So much seating! Both indoors and out. It’s airy but definitely not air conditioned, so be prepared. The garden salad was fine. Nothing exceptional but par for a coffee shop. The lattes were excellent, definitely the highlight. They have a super cute gift shop too!

Really Cool Coffee Shop with Delicious Coffee and yummy baked goods (baked fresh on premises daily). Good breakfast/lunch options as well. Love the outside large patio—great for hanging out, studying, meeting, people watching. Dog friendly. Limited parking though..a few spots on street in front and a tight, small parking lot in back. Great Spot though with a small gift shop as well. Be warned—lots of steps to the Restrooms👇

Flea & Street Markets
Nestled in the charming Encinitas neighborhood of Leucadia, California, the Leucadia Farmers Market is a beloved Sunday tradition for locals and visitors alike. With over 75 vendors offering an array of fresh produce, artisanal foods, and handcrafted goods, this market is a paradise for foodies and craft enthusiasts. From organic fruits and vegetables to delectable baked goods, meats, seafood, and more, there's something for everyone to savor.
Great farmers market! So much variety of fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, eggs, nuts, prepared food items, and non-food items. Plus, it's very spacious, making for a pleasant experience walking and shopping! Prepare to spend a bit of time parking, as it can get quite full.

Probably my favorite farmers market I’ve ever been to. Lots of parking nearby with only a short walk. Takes place at the cutest elementary school. Plenty of fresh produce, local artists, fresh delicious goodies like pasta and tea and almond butter, and plenty of food trucks. Great experience with a community feel.
Gabrielle S — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised at how great this market was. I always visit the vista Saturday market, but was looking for something on Sunday. I really liked that the majority of the market was on grass rather than hot pavement and that it has plenty of seating to take a rest and enjoy a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors. Live music was great and not too loud, just right! The only downside in my opinion was that parking can be really tough since the venue is at a school in a residential neighborhood. Streets are narrow especially with cars parked on them.
Kim B — Google review
This farmers market is a decent size and has a good selection of vendors. There is cooked food, meat, plants, fruits and vegetables, and people selling other things such as clothing and pottery. It is actually on a grassy school playground. There is also a covered area with picnic tables perfect for sitting at and enjoying some food just purchased at the farmers market. There is a small amount of parking at the school, but most have to park on the street. Overall a good farmers market.
Sandra B — Google review
Never been treated so poorly from a vendor. The almond booth seller was an absolute grump. I highly suggest someone speaks to home regarding decent conduct and customer service. Stay away from this booth if you want to continue to have a nice day. Otherwise it was a nice experience. It's true how one bad apple can spoil a bunch.
Anthony L — Google review
Pretty good sized, lots of places to sit and enjoy your food choices. Parking can be a challenge, but it's a great space for a farmers market.
Tracie K — Google review
This is everything you would want in a farmers market. The vendors are friendly and diverse in their offerings. There is tons of produce, meats, cheeses, and other great things to try. There are also some other vendors too like clothes, candles, plants, etc. There is a small chicken coup and food vendors as well. Great place to make a morning of it or for a brunch and shopping trip.
Chris S — Google review
Very pricey and posh, on my understanding a farmers market is where you can get local produce at an affordable price, Leucadia is unfortunately becoming Downtown Encinitas, where all the good food restaurants are being replaced by "Trendy joints" that are very worried about price vs offering quality.

An absolutely beautiful and delicious dinner experience. Everything was satisfying and full of flavor. Highly recommend. My whole family was happy with their meals. All servers were very attentive and friendly, staff is knowledgeable on the menu and give good recommendations. Parking was a bit difficult to find, but other than that everything was as expected, and even better.

Wow! I found this place online and I am here to say WOW! I was blown away. I am not one to be impressed easily. The reception desk greeted us very nicely and accommodated to our seating outside. our server came and wow he was great. He got our entire order correct the food was fresh and service was great. this is a spot that I will be coming back to for sure. Also, I have to say I am a stickler for clean restrooms, and your restrooms are very clean.

Fantastic food. Touristy with prices to match. Sketchy manager almost looked like the mob and his brats running the place. 🤤 who knows anymore. It’s always something. The wait staff and food runners act like they are doing you a favor for working that night and disappear constantly. Bad setup on the table missing utensils and water while dirty plates sat as employee after employee dripped sweat on the table as they sprinted by. Bring back the 7% tip. It’s too loud anywhere but outside due to the amplification of the piano at the end of the dining room. Really disappointing experience overall but the food was excellent. It was a very special occasion. Those damn employees! But in all fairness, all of Encinitas is full of over, promised over hyped over tipped restaurants. It’s better just to stick with the Mexican little burrito joints or the Encinitas diner. This place has the prices of a ritz Carlson like service experience but instead it was like being served by my mother-in-law who is against food and hates doing anything for anyone but insists on doing everything for all of us constantly. 💥

We went for a peaceful and relaxing dinner. We sat on the patio and it was nice and quiet until the inside entertainment – – they decided to blast over the speakers! We asked them to turn it down – – which they did and then moments later, it started blasting again– – not to mention, the speakers were crackling. We asked again to be able to have it turned down AGAIN. Our server said he would go ask and the next thing we know the manager comes out that he could not turn it down because the guests inside the restaurant could not hear the music then. he said he would move us to a back patio, but that’s all that he could do. He was short, curt and rude because we were customers too. 😞. It was certainly not background music, which ruined our dinner. My husband and I could barely hear each other, talking across the table. Oh, yes, on a sidenote, if you are a lasagna lover– – I would think again before ordering it there. It was very greasy and the tomato sauce was anything but traditional Italian sauce. Being Italian, I would know. Very disappointing.😞

Came here around lunchtime over the weekend. It was very quiet before people started rolling in and they had just opened. The service was very fast, our waiter was friendly and attentive. The portions were really large as well, and we had some to take home. Overall the food was great.

We reserved our seating via yelp (highly suggested). Once we arrived we were seated immediately on the patio and the weather and experience was perfect. They have a HUGE wine selection for those that drink. The menu and daily specials are all highly recommended. The experience was beyond 5 stars. We even had an authentic Italian waiter. Our dishes were great: lasagna and veal parmigiana. We highly recommend dining here when visiting Encinitas. The meals are on the pricier side but well worth the perfection of the ingredients and well cooked original Italiano dishes.

Chinese restaurant
Panda Express is a beloved fast-food chain that brings a taste of Chinese cuisine to the masses, offering a variety of options, including some healthier choices. This particular location stands out in North County for its exceptional food quality and freshness. Diners rave about their crunchy orange chicken and generous portions of chow mein, which are loaded with noodles rather than just veggies.
In a pinch I prefer panda over most Chinese in the area. It’s quick and easy and hits the spot. I appreciate that they were out of walnut shrimp but made some just for me at the end of the night. Thank you!
Lois O — Google review
Panda just panda everywhere you go right? WRONG! This location, single-handedly, makes the best food in all of North County. I have had fresh food here, crunchy orange chicken, and my chow mein is never veggies with chow mein, but rather, a ton of noodles with veggies. I have catered from them 3 times already and have also ordered pick up at least once a week for friends, co-workers, and family. Staff is great and it's always clean.

Burnt Food, Small Portions, Cold Food, Gift Card Balances Disappear. I'm not sure that I need to say much more, but the past maybe 5 times I have ordered Panda the Teriyaki chicken is burnt, but cold like all the other items, containers are filled with 50% less food than previously. So I stopped ordering on the app, thinking they just screw over app order... Well I got a fresh 3 item meal with burnt chicken, cold chow mien and veggies and the 3rd item was literally half full. To top off my frustration I bought $90 of gift cards on a holiday promotion, of which I have used maybe $50-$60 and my balance is ZERO. I don't know how many way Panda can screw you but this seems like a pretty good list.

The food was fresh and delicious. I got the new beyond orange chicken and enjoyed it. Only bummer was having to wait for it to be made, as well as one of our other entrees, for about 5 min after ordering. There is an area to sit outside and plenty of seating indoors.

Love love love this Panda Express! The staff is wonderful. Shoutout to people like Antonio, Zeltzin, and Jocelyn that make my boyfriend and I's bowls. They are generous in hospitality (and in giving us the tiny pieces of chicken that will otherwise get thrown out). This Panda Express is better than the one in Vista by far. I saw how someone commented on their broccoli...I actually like how it has a raw crunch to it. I work in the fitness industry (my boyfriend does as well) and this is one of the only "fast food" places that we can eat at that leaves us feeling good afterwards. Thank you Panda!!

American restaurant
Solace & the Moonlight Lounge is a rustic-industrial American eatery and lounge that offers live music and themed menu nights. It's the sister restaurant to Urban Solace, known for its modern American cuisine using natural ingredients. The food is fresh, beautifully presented comfort food for foodies. Guests have praised the fantastic service, great atmosphere, and excellent mixed drinks. The menu features standout dishes like oysters, scallops, and tuna tartare while also offering a great wine list.
Discovered this place by accident. The roasted eggplant dip was awesome. The breakfast burrito was very good as well. Fun place.

We had a great meal and our waitress was fantastic. I wish remembered her name she deserves the recognition. Hopefully, she will be there next weekend when we return. They had the best oysters. The scallops were perfect. And, wow the tuna tartare. We reordered the oysters 3 times. Great wine list. There was a musician playing the night we ate there and he was pretty good and not loud. We were able to enjoy music and our meal as a result. I can't wait to eat there again.

It has been a while since we stopped in to Solace, and decided to change that a few weeks ago. It was happy hour so we sat upstairs at the bar. Grabbed a glass of wine and a beer and ordered a couple of apps. W had: The $1 oysters - nice and fresh, shucked in front of our eyes The bbq pork sliders served on warm biscuits - the combination was good, but I ended up asking for some mustard, which helped blend the flavors and balance the sweetness; pickles could be a good compliment. A poke lettuce wrap app - can't recall the exact name, but it was a good choice to balance the sliders, and was fresh and light. The food was good, but the service lacked a little. The bar was pretty full, but it was not a chaotic scene by any means, yet it took effort to get bartender's or other staff's attention and most things took longer than they should have (delivery of drinks, mustard, to go box, receipt...). This was a bit disappointing given the great location, setting and food. Came here early in the evening on a Friday and the bar upstairs was a popular spot. They have a nice outdoor patio, but we opted for the inside, as the setting sun made it quite hot outside. Had a couple of beers and some $1 oysters and split an ahi taco. The taco is not fried which makes it a nice healthy option. The avocado mash on top is a perfect complement. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other food options on the menu.

Great atmosphere and service. Food was very good and mixed drinks were excellent. Nice experience overall. For a midwesterner like me, it seemed just a bit pricey, but for the San Diego area, it was fairly reasonable. I am stingy with five star reviews, so four is a very high rating.

Great ambience. Romantic setting in the heart od Encinitas. Very polished service. Fish was fresh and soft and excellent. Cran Mule was great. Well worth a visit.
Deepu J — Google review
The food here is delicious! Service was excellent, as well. I️ had their seasonal vegetable dish. Which came out later than everyone else’s dishes and was a bit undercooked. Other than that little slip, everyone else at the table said their dinners were great and apps were good, as well. On the pricier side. (But, what isn’t in CA?) Love their little bit on straws!
Tawny S — Google review
Great food but way over priced. I would consider going here for just some drinks and an appetizers other than that no complaints food was awesome service was great.

Solace is one of the best places to go in Encinitas. Food and drinks are fantastic. This has become a no brainer for happy hour. By far the best in town. How can you say no to $1 oysters!!...I will definitely be coming here more often...oh yeah, do not forget to try the biscuits. They're amazing!!

San Diego Botanic Garden, located in Encinitas, spans 37 acres and boasts an extensive collection of exotic plants from all over the world. The garden features four miles of trails with picturesque views and a variety of flowering trees, palms, and bamboo. It is a great destination for visitors of all ages, but especially appealing to kids with its interactive children's garden areas such as the Hamilton Children's Garden and Seeds of Wonder Children's Garden.
The San Diego Botanic Garden is a.perfect place for plant lovers to visit. From beautiful fragrant plumerias and towering banana trees to unique pitcher plants, and dragon fruit, every corner was wonderful. The statues covered in succulents, water lilies, and birds of paradise add even more beauty. The massive bamboo was incredible. So much to see and explore. We didn’t have enough time to see everything in just a few hours. When we’re in the area again, we will definitely return.
Thuy M — Google review
We enjoyed the gardens with what little time we had. We, unknowingly, purchased tickets 1 hour before closing. We would have appreciated a warning from the associate that we had 1 hour left. We should have done our research, but this was an impromptu visit. Surprisingly, tickets are full price whether you have all day or 1 hour. We will possibly visit again, with plenty of time to enjoy the whole gardens.
Shan B — Google review
Another fun weekend activity with our son during our San Diego visit! The San Diego Botanical Garden may be small, but it’s packed with plants from all over the world. We especially enjoyed the South African section — very unique species you don’t see every day — and the fun “plant mariachi band” in the Mexican garden made us smile. They even had a magic show for the kids, which was a nice surprise. For those who love gardening, there are plants available for sale too. The bamboo garden was another highlight — really interesting to see how different types of bamboo grow. Overall, a cool and relaxing visit surrounded by nature.
Regis K — Google review
Amazing gardens situated not far from the coast. You can see the Pacific from an observation tower at the back of the gardens. These gardens are not as big as the Golden State Park gardens but the San Diego Botanic Garden has a large variety of ecospaces packed into it. The bamboo forest is amazing. Make sure you go through it. The plants attract a variety of animals including monarchs in the butterfly garden. The hummingbirds are found throughout, and the pond is a delightful place to see water plants and turtles. Some of the garden's standouts are olive trees, cork trees, and an artistic Mexican fiesta garden.
Dan's I — Google review
I expected so more from a botanical garden. It's in desperate need of a face lift. Half of the plants didn't have signs letting you know what they were. And the signs they do have are faded, tiny and really hard to read. It seems like there is a serious lack of plant maintenance. There were some really beautiful areas though, like the lily pond. And it was a nice place for a peaceful morning stroll. Be advised they do not accept cash, only credit cards.
Terri A — Google review
Calling all the plant lovers! this is a really cool spot! Way bigger than I expected and super relaxing to walk through. The bamboo garden was definitely my favorite — super peaceful and felt like its own little world. The rainforest section was awesome too, with all the greenery and little paths winding through it. Perfect place to just stroll and chill for a bit. Would totally go back.
Jess R — Google review
We had a lovely time visiting the garden there were lots of paths and neat areas to explore. It was hot the day we visited but found shady places to cool down. The succulent statues were our our favorite!
Kristine M — Google review
An awesome array of plants to see. Unfortunately many of the signs seem to have been removed from the children's areas. Additionally, the layout and map were rather confusing. Thankfully they have printed maps at major intersections with ideolocators (the 'you are here' mark)

Great spot with high quality products and a variety of options! I like that if you bring your own bags they give you a token to make a donation to a local organization. Absolutely would go here again!

This market was super clean. Lazy Acres has super fresh fish and meat, probably some of the best I’ve seen in a store. Everything looked high quality and well stocked. The employees were super helpful and immediately knew where everything was when I asked. It made the whole trip easy and smooth. Definitely one of the better grocery spots I’ve been to.

AN AMAZING MARKET THAT YOU CAN FIND ALL GLUTIN FREE AND ORGANIC PRODUCT! I have been looking for the organic tiny franks at Walmart, Vons, Albertsons, Traders Joe and other stores but couldn’t find them! And fresh hot food was so amazing: Clam chowder, broccoli Chicken and others were so yummy! Restroom so clean and smells so good! I gave 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 without even thinking

Healthy fresh food options for the family. The rotational buffet is better than most and an optimal choice if you're health conscious. Recommend stopping by for a quick healthy bite. They also have a wide range of organic grocery choices that puts Trader Joe's and Whole Foods to shame.

I shop here every once in a while. I decided to grab a wrap from here. I got the Pesto Chicken Wrap, it was $10 and not that good. I couldn’t believe that the salad I wanted to grab was $21? What? I know inflation is tough, but this is nuts!

This is the first “Healthy” store i’ve ever been to in my 21 years of life. And let me just say it does NOT disappoint, everything on the shelves are so much more healthy then a normal grocery store AND THEY ARE THE SAME PRICE!!! You are able to pack your own products like tea, herbs, spices, peanut butter & almond butter. If you want a change of food and a place that has skylights (which honestly helps my eyes so much more) come here!! It will not disappoint 🥰

Cottonwood Creek Park is a serene city park located in Encinitas, offering various amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park features basketball and tennis courts, picnic facilities, and a kids' play area with a rock climbing wall, swings, slides, and more. A creek runs through the park with bridges adding to its tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can also find BBQ grills, walking trails, and restrooms on-site.
This is such a great park. Great for all ages, and lots of activities spread about the park. It's great. It has a fun rock to climb, basketball and tennis courts, a large playground, a walking path, plenty of shade if you need to escape the sun, and fairly clean community bathrooms. It does have some homeless people who are scattered about, but I would consider this park pretty clean and safe. Plus, this is a great spot to host parties in public spaces.

Cottonwood Park in Encinitas is absolutely delightful. It has a riparian stream that was formerly up until 1932 the soul water source for the small city of. In the 1980s they began work to turn this piece of land into the lovely neighborhood park that it is today. Beautiful with plenty of picnic space (covered tables and grassy knolls) and bathrooms. Tennis courts and pickleball nice enough - but pickleball community doesn't have rotation, people are allowed to stay on the courts 1-2 ho7rs or so even with people waiting. Wild west there. Homeless people seem to hang out but not in large numbers... we liked walking our dogs there and the water fountains work.

Cottonwood Creek Park is a charming place to for a picnic! It was incredibly busy on a Tuesday morning with mommy & me music and yoga classes on the lawns, preschool groups, and other families playing on the playground. There is a well-maintained dirt trail that runs along the creek for about 1/4 of a mile. It continues on to a less-maintained dirt trail that runs right along the 5 freeway so that part makes it not a very tranquil walk. This part of the trail is undergoing maintenance so it looks like a mess right now. When the habitat restoration is complete, it will be a lot more enjoyable. I took our Bob jogging stroller on it but because there is so much debris on the trail it was very bumpy with a stroller. Total distance of the trail is about 3/4 of a mile. 📍95 N Vulcan Ave, Encinitas, CA 92024 🚙Limited free parking in lot & on the street 💰This park is free 🎠The play structure has a rubber/san ground surface and there are both standard and bucket swings 🚽Restrooms 🧺Picnic tables scattered around the park. This small park is a great spot to relax and spend a little time with your pup and family. Tennis/Pickle ball courts if you're into that, playground for the littles with plenty of surrounding lawn to grab a little shade and enjoy. With bridges over and near the little creek, nature walking through this park is relaxing and enjoyable. Close to the beach yet tucked away in your own little environment to be away. 1 Gazebo Covered Picnic Space Dog friendly Parking lot is small.

Movie theater
La Paloma Theatre, a historic 1920s movie theater located in Encinitas, is known for its diverse offerings. It showcases foreign and independent films, hosts festivals, and stages concerts. The theater has a rich history as one of the first to screen 'Talkies' during the transition from silent pictures. La Paloma also boasts a beautiful pipe organ, reflecting its heritage from the silent movie era.
This is a beautiful old piece of history. We went there on Sunday morning at 9 am for Light Church and I can't recommend this enough. Music was relevant, the theater was packed, and you truly felt the Holy Spirit. The sermon was applicable to life and I met many wonderful young people there.
Dawn M — Google review
I love this theater. They show classic movies and it brings back such a sense of early 2000s nostalgia. I came here to see the Phantom Menace and attack of the clones five stars for being able to choose our own seat, great customer service, and great quality concessions.
Jessie W — Google review
Crazed Imaginations was in fine form on Halloween and we had a blast at their sold out show!
Regina — Google review
Cash only. Admission is $12, but the candy and popcorn is all $5, which is overpriced in my opinion. Seats were uncomfortable and the overall theater is poorly maintained. Has a lot of potential to bring new indie films to the area, but instead choose only cult classics. Which is fine, but personally it could have a more impact on the community by having events and showings.

Perfect novelty. A lovely treasure for San Diego history and film lovers. Also the perfect place to watch David Lynch’s Eraserhead. A worn theater but still so nice.

Taco restaurant
The Taco Stand is a casual eatery that draws inspiration from the street carts of Tijuana and the Baja Peninsula. It prides itself on offering made-to-order tortillas and fresh guacamole, as well as scratch-made salsas daily. In addition to their delectable tacos and burritos, they also serve Mexican popsicles, refreshing beverages, imported beer, and authentic Rosarito-style churros.
One of the best taco places I have ever tried. On a Sunday evening there is still a long line, had to wait around 30 minutes but it was well worth the wait. I have never seen a taco wrapped and presented this way, and it made it so easy to eat. Every taco was delicious and packed with flavor and meat. Very friendly staff and some self serve drinks and condiments.

Best authentic Mexican food! The tacos are always delicious, and the churros are made fresh, they’re absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very lively and happy, making it such a fun place to eat. Sometimes it does get pretty busy, but it’s definitely worth the wait. Every time we’re in town, we make sure to stop by. We love this place! 🌮❤️

I’ve been hearing about this place so I stopped to try it out. I have it a 4 star because the first taco I tried was Al Pastor. I did. It like that mix with the pineapples. It was ok. Next I tried carne Asada. This taco was really good. 5 stars. Fresh and delicious. The I had a Burrito. Carne Asada. One the best burrito I have ever eaten. Freshly made. The wait wasn’t bad. Place was packed. There’s a backyard too for seating

Taco Stand basically remains undefeated for price vs quality Mexican taco stand classics. Authentic and hot, served fresh. Plus an amazing lineup of sauces and salsas. Get the Mar y Tierra fries for a great combo of everything - or a California Burrito for a good time.

This place is amazing. Just go!!! Chips and fresh tortillas are the best I’ve ever had! Guac was awesome and the salsa bar has plenty to choose from to keep it simple or keep it spicy! Shrimp and carne asada were totally worth it. Super good food. Long line for lunch, but long lines means good food. The service was quick and super friendly!

If you're searching for authentic taco flavor in Encinitas, this stand is a must-visit. Each bite transports you straight to Mexico with its perfectly seasoned meats and fresh, vibrant toppings. The tortillas are soft and flavorful, complementing the rich fillings beautifully. It's a genuine taste of traditional tacos, proving that sometimes, the simplest spots offer the most profound culinary experiences.

Honey's Bistro & Bakery is a delightful eatery known for its freshly brewed coffee, nutritious breakfast and lunch options, and refreshing smoothies. Great breakfast stop! The healthy burrito was savory and great after a morning walk. Came on a Monday morning and was perfect. Will be coming back soon.
Olivia M — Google review
The eggs florentine sauce was excellent and the poached eggs were perfect. However, I was not a huge fan of the overall restaurant system of seating. At the time we went, the place was packed and you had to essentially wait for someone to leave so you could sit down while you held your order number. To be clear, they start preparing your order as soon as they take it, so you could receive your food before you get seating. It was a little irritating and stressful. I understand this is a restaurant spatial constraint and it seemed like the place itself was getting overwhelmed with people. The staff was attempting to avoid the problem of taking too many orders when there wasn’t enough seating. If you go, I would recommend coming after the brunch rush to avoid this problem. I would not come back.
Sola S — Google review
Good food order first then go find a table. If they used servers then I would say 5 stars. Food seems fresh and good quality. Ordered egg’s Benedict and two omelets. Potato’s were a little soft and soggy. But overs we were happy
Jerry Z — Google review
A really remarkable place that is dog friendly and offers great shaded seating outdoors for a comfortable experience. Unusual concept of ordering at the counter before seating that absolutely works. The drinks we ordered were brought out in just a couple of mins and our food seemed to only take maybe 5mins to get to our table. Now as for the foods both meals looked delicious and the taste backed every look of it. The stuffed French toast was light and airy with a wonderful whipped cream and the best and fresh berries to combine into what can only be described as a plate that was so flavorful without being heavy or too sweet. As for the Italian sausage scramble with potatoes, it was a combination that hit it out of the park the onions and peppers with the seasoned potatoes were cooked perfectly and the scramble itself meshed so well with the light and fluffy eggs, melted cheese, onions, and peppers had a remarkable flavor bite after bite. We chose to get the cranberry mule which was very good and did not have the overbearing ginger beer flavor that most other places have the fruit on top was the best addition to it. We also got the dole whip honey pot mimosa which had such great fresh flavors while still being able to appreciate the champagne as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to go and experience a new spot with a great atmosphere and the food and drinks that will be having you come back time after time. We look forward to visiting once again.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Thursday morning, before hitting the beach. Ordered the Big Breakfast, and it WAS big. Huge portions, cooked perfectly. I especially enjoyed the, potatoes (including the onions). Quick service (note that there were not many customers at the time I was there). Order at the counter, with self serve coffee. Really cute interior. Indoor & outdoor seating. Reasonable prices for a beach town. I don't know what the "bakery" part of the business is, but the sourdough toast was really good, so if they baked it, good for them. I feel bad for the folks who had a less than great experience, I enjoyed the food and will eat here next time I'm in town.
Kate S — Google review
Great location, really sad $10 breakfast sandwich. Only flavor was the chicken sausage. Only one guy working FOH, had to stand around waiting to order. Friend got the Mexican sandwich, a generous portion but it was 90% tomato. Potatoes were sad. I started feeling sick a few minutes after eating. I don't eat pork and can have a reaction to pork protein. Curious if that chicken sausage was in pork casing. Competing music is annoying.
Julie C — Google review
I eat breakfast here all the time and send people as well. This time. I was very disappointed when I ordered the California scramble which included asparagus. I got only stocks that were too chewy to swallow when I asked one of the servers if he could bring me more he came back and said the cooks said no so I asked for the manager, and the manager brought me these which weren’t cooked. I guess I’ll find another place to go to breakfast right now on. This is very disappointing.

Serranos Mexican Food in Encinitas is a delightful escape that immerses you in the vibrant culture of Mexico. As soon as you step inside, the warm hues and rustic decor create an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy vacation spot. The lively Mariachi music adds to the traditional fast-food vibe, making it a perfect place for taco cravings after a long day. The service at Serranos is notably friendly; the staff are eager to help with recommendations that enhance your dining experience.
Exactly what I was craving! So good. I got the CA burrito. The tortilla was homemade, the carne asada was perfectly cooked and not too fatty. Mm!

My family and I love this place. One of the few places not price gouging. We LOVE the $1 fish tacos, they have a lot of different sauces, and the chips and salsa are great.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars isn't enough. Serranos Mexican Food in Encinitas is an absolute gem! I'm still reeling from the flavor explosion that hit my taste buds, and I'm not alone. My wife and I, and our kids are from Texas we're in town on vacation with a passion for Latin American cuisine, were thoroughly impressed. As Texans, we're spoiled with amazing Mexican food options, but Serranos brings a whole new level of authenticity to the table. From the vibrant colors to the lively music, the atmosphere is perfect for a night out with family or friends. I've eaten here twice in the last 3 days, and I'm hooked. The customer service is top-notch...friendly, authentic, and genuine. Our server greeted us with a warm smile, made recommendations, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The staff's attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for the food and culture shone through in every interaction. The environment is perfect for families, couples, and groups. The decor is lively and colorful, with vibrant artwork and lively music that adds to the energetic atmosphere. But the real magic happens in the kitchen. The quality of food is exceptional – every dish is made to order, bursting with flavor, and cooked to perfection. You can taste the authenticity in every bite. I ordered a few dishes to share, but the three standouts for me were the Surf-n-Turf Fries, Moonlight Crunch Burrito, and mini Al Pastor tacos. The Surf-n-Turf Fries were a game-changer – crispy fries smothered in succulent shrimp, savory carne asada, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. The combination of textures and flavors was absolute perfection. The Moonlight Crunch Burrito was a flavor bomb, packed with tender steak, crunchy tacos and veggies, and a whole list of other wonderful foods, and a hint of spice. And those mini Al Pastor tacos? Perfectly marinated pork, grilled to perfection, and served with a side of fresh pineapple and onion. Each bite was a masterclass in balance and flavor. What really sets Serranos apart is the love and care that goes into every dish. You can feel the passion and dedication in every bite. The chef's attention to detail and commitment to using only the freshest ingredients shines through in every dish. If you're a fan of Mexican food like us, do yourself a favor and get to Serranos. Be prepared for a culinary adventure that will leave you wanting more. We'll be back, and we'll be bringing friends. Serranos, you've earned 5 loyal customers in us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went there multiples times over 3 days, food was delicious, pricing was decent as well. My wife really enjoyed their Tripa soup

This place has a good taco shop vibe, just like the spots you find in Mexico. The food is solid, and the portions are big enough to share. I tried the shrimp burrito special—it was only $8, and it was packed with shrimp, fresh cabbage, and pico de gallo. They also have a decent salsa bar. I'd definitely go back to try something else

Absolutely amazing food. The best mexican food AND for such a great price. The staff are always very friendly along with giving generous portions. This is the perfect Mexican restaurant for any locals, ANYONE tourists from other countries, or any people visiting San Diego hoping to get an authentic and VERY tasty meal. I recommend the Tijuana taco. It's my favorite taco. 10/10 also the burritos are amazing. Try any of them and you'll love it. Give it a try, you won't regret it

I've passed this restaurant so many times and wondered how good a $1.00 taco al pastor could be. Then a friend mentioned that he liked it, so I actually stopped in and loved it. The cutest, most delicious little tacos, I had a couple and they were the perfect mid-afternoon boost. The lady behind the counter was super nice and helpful. Highly recommended, it is going to a go-to from now on.

We love this place! The food is fresh, delicious, and very well priced! The restaurant is always clean and the staff makes you feel like they're glad you stopped in to eat! We have ordered a variety of different items from the menu and it's all been amazing - including the salsa bar! Their carne asada, shrimp, and mahi mahi are definitely standouts. The carne asada is flavorful and not greasy like some Mexican food restaurants. I also recommend giving the breakfast burritos a try. This is definitely a great place to grab some excellent Mexican food!

Pacific Coast Grill is a high-end yet casual waterfront venue located right on the sand, offering a chill atmosphere and locally sourced seafood options. With ocean views from nearly every seat, including the best views of surfers and occasional dolphins from the upstairs patio, it's an ideal spot for a special anniversary dinner or simply to enjoy breathtaking coastal scenery. The restaurant boasts creative food, fantastic views, and a diverse menu featuring sushi, tacos, steaks, and seafood.
Amazing place and great service. The food is delicious as well. I absolutely love the view no matter the season. You are right on the beach. Strongly recommend. Parking can be difficult but they do offer valet parking. Strongly recommend for any occasion.

Night did not go quite as planned, but server Jenna made up for it by providing outstanding attention and understanding. I let her pick the meal, and Chef Humberto did not disappoint! Amazing food; great location and views. Cloud cover did not allow for the Sunset views, but that couldn't be helped. I would highly recommend PCG for a meal, and for the atmosphere. Props to Jenna who helped make an awkward situation into a positive!

This place is just wonderful, Amazing view with great service. We had fried calamari & paella 🥘 but I don't recommend the paella it was super salty & full of sauce. Fried calamari was super delicious 😋. The waiters are so kind & helpful. The service is great & fast. They also treated us with complimentary cheesecake for my wife birthday.
Ahmed H — Google review
The restaurant is right by the ocean which provides an amazing view especially during the sunset. In my prior experiences, being near ocean justified not having the best food quality, however here the food is the main focus and I was blown by its taste and quality👌, service was also great! I had the sesame seared Ahi and my wife had the short rib, both dishes were delicious and tastefully designed👌

I grew up in San Diego so I have been coming to Pacific Coast Grill since I was in high school. They recently did a major remodel so this visit was the first being after the new construction. I think they did a wonderful job with it and really expanded to it. The brick wall in the front looks really great and they added a lot more seating. I did not get a chance to take a look at what they added upstairs, but the restaurant itself looks a lot better than it used to and the menu is still refreshingly huge and has lots of great options. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot so the best option is to do valet. Parking on this stretch of the 101 can be a bit tricky. We sat outside in the back with our table closest to the water as possible. We heard the ocean waves crashing during our entire meal and it was just a really tranquil and wonderful setting enjoying the beautiful San Diego evening. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. For this visit, I started off with a Dungeness Crab Guacamole, and loved it. They really gave a lot of crab and I felt the portion size was very generous. I would highly recommend. Next, I ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Chowder and I thought this one was just OK. I think it would’ve been a lot better if it would have been a bisque or had more of a sherry flavor or just something different. I thought it was a little bland so I would not recommend this one. For my entrée, I chose the Alaskan Halibut because of shrimp scampi and Parmesan risotto that came with it, and all three were a great combination. This was a great end of the meal and I would definitely order it again next time I visit even though they’re probably most famous for their Seafood Paella. Overall a fantastic San Diego dinner or lunch option, someplace I have been going to for over a decade and will continue to go to.

Our server did a great job. The food was on point! Aside from the amazing patio view, this restaurant is very impressive because of the dishes. If you want to see the chef in action I always recommend trying multiple appetizers. I got a few rolls and the guacamole with the crab in it. It was so good! For my main dish I had the surf and turf burrito. It was perfect because it wasn't over powering from lots of meat. It was a perfect ratio of shrimp, meat, and cheese. This place is a must try.
Donny B — Google review
The good: Beautiful sunset setting and the Chilean sea bass was excellent — perfectly cooked and plated. Hard to beat the view. The bad: Even with reservations made weeks in advance, the prime oceanfront tables seemed reserved for locals. We were told, “There are several private reservations, but we’ll do what we can.” It’s a disappointing experience when you’ve planned ahead for a special evening. The seared ahi tuna was also underwhelming — nice presentation but little flavor. Bottom line: The view delivers, but the service and seating priorities don’t match the hype. Next time I’d drive 10 minutes south to Del Mar and dine at Jake’s or Poseidon, where the food and experience both feel worth it.

We enjoyed lunch at the Pacific Coast Grill (2526 Coast Highway 101). Parking is by valet ($8) only. Watching him maneuvering the cars in a very tight parking lot is worth the cost :) . The location is gorgeous, directly on the beach. We ordered Rombauer Sauvignon Blanc and their Poke Bowl along with their Lobster & Shrimp deluxe sandwich. For desert we had their hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream and brown sugar crumble. The Rombauer was delightful. The Poke Bowl was excellent. The Lobster & Shrimp sandwich was good. It was mostly shrimp and served warm. It actually tasted better when it cooled off. The apple pie was a real treat. The vanilla was very creamy and hot apple chunks delicious with the crumble topping.

Moonlight State Beach, located in the charming town of Encinitas, is a popular destination for beachgoers seeking a fun-filled day by the sea. The expansive sandy area offers various amenities such as fire pits, sand volleyball courts, and a snack bar. Families will appreciate the designated swimming area and mild waves, along with lifeguards on duty year-round. Sports enthusiasts can make use of the volleyball and tennis courts while kids can enjoy the ocean-themed playground with multiple slides and climbing structures.
Nice beach in the Encinitas area!! Sand is super nice and soft. Lots of people watching the Pacific ocean. A volleyball court and children's playground. Nice and clean restrooms. Plenty of space to walk along the beach and a decent parking lot which is free. Also a good spot to get great tacos.

Moonlight State Beach was hands down one of the best beaches I’ve been to in a long time. The atmosphere was incredible—families gathered around a cozy fire pit, sharing food and enjoying each other’s company. Even though it was a little chilly because of the time of year we visited, it was still relaxing to have our feet in the sand, breathing in the ocean air. There was such a good vibe all around—peaceful, friendly, and full of life. It felt like a perfect blend of fun and relaxation. The beach was super kid-friendly, which made the visit even better. There were plenty of people out surfing, giving it a lively, active feel, and the playground nearby kept the kids entertained when they weren’t splashing around. The showers and restrooms were convenient and clean, which made the whole experience that much more comfortable. Plus, the big lifeguard building nearby gave me an added sense of safety, knowing help was close if needed. I could definitely see myself coming back again—whether for a full beach day or just to catch a sunset by the fire.

If you're looking for a great public beach that has it all, this is the spot. You've got volleyball, a kids' area, and calm water, but you can also find some solid surf waves if that's what you're after. Just remember that it can be a little foggy in the mornings, but the famous California sun usually breaks through in the afternoon. I got here bright and early on a Sunday (6 a.m.!) and had no problem with parking. It definitely fills up later, but there are lots and street parking to choose from. A quick tip: park in the residential area near the volleyball if you want to skip the stairs or hill. My favorite part was getting to watch the surfers while I went for a run—and the outdoor rinse-off area was perfect for removing all that sand before heading out.

I had some time to kill before heading to San Diego and was pleasantly surprised to find such a beautiful spot to have lunch. I was expecting to pay for parking but it was free.

Bro-Am 2025 was great! Love Moonlight Beach. There are public bathrooms, food vendors, and limited parking. There was a bus shuttle. We didn't attend the entire day. The Switch foot set was wonderful!!

Pretty cool beach. They have decent bathrooms and outdoor showers. There was a little Cafe and playground. There are also rentals (like surfboards). I rode my bicycle and they had plenty of good bike racks, that were buried in the concrete, not just loosely bolted in. So I felt comfortable locking up my bicycle, along with all the other bikes. They also had volleyball nets.
Christopher H — Google review
This is such a great place with so many things to do! They have a pretty awesome concession as well! You can rent boogie boards and volleyballs to play in the sand courts. The lifeguards are amazing and actively running the beach and in and out of the water. They go above and beyond to ensure the safety of the people. I felt super safe knowing the lifeguards are actively watching and protecting!

The Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens in Encinitas offer a serene escape with koi ponds, benches, and stunning ocean views. This spiritual center was founded in the 1920s by Paramahansa Yogananda and is dedicated to sharing the teachings of Kriya Yoga. Visitors can explore the beautiful gardens, attend meditation sessions, and even take yoga classes at this tranquil retreat.
This is a hidden gem right next to Swamis Beach. Beautiful pristine views overlooking the ocean, and sparkling water. The gardens itself is a place of immense spiritual energy, and is ideal for meditation out in the nature. Variety of vibrant plants and vegetation can be enjoyed here, and its perfect place to get immersed into the beautiful landscape as well. Very well designed, and perfect place to relax and meditate after a stressful week, while absorbing the gorgeous views of the ocean and stunning natural formations which surround this area. Admission is free, so I highly recommended going here for a short weekend getaway or wedding proposal. Its absolutely worth every minute spent here, and experience oneness with the source of creation.

The garden is out of someone’s imagination. It does not feel real. It’s like the Elysian Fields. The ocean and views are dramatic. People flock here. They don’t let you see the sunsets or they would never be able to empty the garden. It always gets overcrowded. It’s beyond beautiful as the garden and ocean meet.

Clean, beautiful, and cozy. Yes, there are always visitors here, but it doesn’t prevent you from being alone with yourself. You can stroll along the well-kept paths among flowers and trees or find a modest bench and enjoy some solitude. Part of the park overlooks the ocean, offering magnificent views and fresh sea air. When I was there, I noticed an unhealthy-looking foam on the surface of the koi pond. I hope the fish are not in danger. I will definitely come back.

The Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens in Encinitas are absolutely stunning. The gardens are peaceful, beautifully maintained, and offer incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. It’s the perfect place to slow down, reflect, and enjoy a quiet moment away from the busyness of life. The pathways, koi ponds, and flowers all add to the serene atmosphere. A true hidden gem that feels almost magical—highly recommend stopping by.

There is a large two door fenced gate open with a donation to see this must see fellowship garden. Being there feels amazing and meditation scenery is available all around. It is the most lively garden I have ever seen.

Been wanting to go to this place for a long time, but just never have time to go there. So finally decided to go there today. It not as big as it seems on video clip everyone see, but it very peaceful n very nice to go and just wondering around to get rid of stress. Glad I went here. So go, you will not regret it. Just make sure you don't speak too loud and leave your phone volume very high...

Swami's Beach

Swami's Beach, located in Encinitas next to the Self-Realization Fellowship Temple, is a beloved spot for surfers and beachgoers. Despite its popularity, the beach often remains uncrowded. At low tide, visitors can explore the tide pools just north of the stairway. The area near the large tiki statue is a hub for local hoopers, dancers, and musicians showcasing their talents.
During my recent visit to Swami's Beach in Encinitas, I was captivated by its unique blend of natural beauty and vibrant surf culture. Descending the staircase from the bluff-top park, I was greeted by panoramic ocean views and the rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the shore. The beach is renowned for its consistent right point break, making it a haven for surfers. I spent hours watching them skillfully navigate the waves, their silhouettes framed against the horizon. Even as a non-surfer, the energy and passion were palpable and infectious. Beyond the surf, Swami's offers a serene environment for relaxation. The adjacent Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens provide a peaceful retreat, with lush greenery and koi ponds overlooking the ocean. It's a perfect spot to reflect and soak in the tranquil ambiance. The community atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy the beach, share stories, and bask in the California sun. Whether you're there to surf, meditate, or simply unwind, Swami's Beach offers an experience that resonates long after you've left.

This is our favorite beach in Encinitas. We like it because it's small and romantic at sunset. There are a lot of surfers here and it's fun to watch them. The Easter Island statues are cool and the view from the parking area overlooking the beach is amazing. The steps down to the beach are steep but the view of the reef break is worth it. The sand on the beach is firm so it's nice to walk on. Depending on the tide you can walk to the Boneyard for more cool views. The parking area and facilities are always maintained and very clean every time we come here to walk. It's a small parking area, but there is plenty of parking in the street area with a scenic walk. If you're here in Encinitas just visiting, you should definitely make this a stop.

Lovely little getaway beach. Visited on a Wednesday around noon and although the parking lot was full (and small) there were a lot of parking spots available on the street. Free and no time limit. The staircase down to the beach is long, but lots of surfers and people of all ages get up and down just fine. A blanket of clouds lasted a few hours before the sun finally came out around 2:30pm. Pretty seashells are found along the coastline but there are signs prohibiting the removal of shells or sea creatures from the beach. Heard there were tide pools but we arrived too late in the day to see them. Compared to other SD beaches I’ve visited, Swami’s wasn’t nearly as crowded. We had such a calm, peaceful beach day! Even spotted some dolphins and seals in the water. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintainer which was nice. Lots of good food spots nearby too. Highly recommend checking it out!

Swami's Beach is so nice anytime of year! Small parking lot but plenty of street parking. Take the stairs down to the beach when the tide is low. There are some nice tide pools along the cliffs that are full of sea creatures. There are restrooms here and you don't have to pay to park.

Beautiful beach preserved in its natural beauty 😍😍😍 lots of surfers, seems like one of their favorite spots in San Diego. There is a decent amount of steps to get to the beach, but well worth it. Lots of sea life - crabs, jelly fish and mussels growing on the rocks. Absolutely great beach to take a walk!!

Beautiful beach with panoramic view of the ocean and perfect spot for watching surfers and sunsets. The beaches dotted along Encinitas are some of the best. Parking lot at Swami is small but there’s road side parking along hwy 101. Beach is only accessible by stairs.

Indulge in a rejuvenating experience at Four Moons Spa, located in Leucadia. This modern spa offers a range of traditional treatments such as facials and massages, alongside holistic healing services provided by healers, mystics, and yogis. The tranquil setting includes bungalows, a Balinese-inspired bale over a koi pond with a waterfall, a Hammam room, and a serene courtyard.
Consistently my favorite place in San Diego to get a massage! I love the property itself. It's a lovely place to enjoy a cup of tea between services. Four Moons customer service is also always fantastic and worked with me to get the exact order and timing of my services perfect. My massage therapist, Sonserai, was amazing, professional, communicative, and skilled to the nines!

What I thought would be a unique facial turned into something so much more profound. It was more like a healing ritual. From the moment I arrived, Marlena created a sacred space that allowed me to fully relax & receive treatment. Her combination of the buccal massage technique with the sculpt & lift + custom facial was masterful, but it was her presence that made all the difference. The buccal massage itself was revelatory, and the way Marlena worked her magick created layers of release I didn't know I needed. I left feeling renewed both physically & energetically. Marlena is more than a skilled esthetician, she is a healer & an alchemist! Thank you, Marlena for sharing your gift & for the beautiful energy you brought to our session. I look forward to returning to your table in the near future.

I had the most amazing time celebrating my birthday at Four Moons Spa! From start to finish, the experience was truly special. The atmosphere is serene and beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. I started with a massage, which was incredibly soothing and just what I needed. The therapist was skilled and attentive, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. Next, I had a medium reading with Kim, and she was absolutely delightful! She has such a warm presence and made the session feel personal and insightful. It was such a unique and special part of my visit. The hammam bath was an absolute highlight—my skin feels so incredibly soft! It was a luxurious, deeply cleansing experience that left me feeling refreshed and glowing. I also got a facial, which was equally fantastic. My skin feels nourished and radiant, and the esthetician was knowledgeable and gentle. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday treat. If you're looking for a place to relax, rejuvenate, and feel completely pampered, I highly recommend Four Moons Spa! I’ll definitely be back.

I was so lucky to be referred by a friend to this lovely little gem of a spa. I enjoyed a deep tissue massage with Erin who worked wonders on my trouble areas, followed by a custom glow facial with Jenny. Robie was so great getting me set up for the day and telling me about the property and the koi fish. I will definitely be back.

Stopped by Four Moons after seeing reviews online as I was on my way to San Diego! I stopped by on a weekday so it wasn’t super busy. I opted for a sauna and soak and left feeling very relaxed! It was nice to have that section of the spa to myself for privacy (it also may have been late in the day). I also appreciated the offer for tea while soaking! The staff was overall very friendly and helpful. They let me hang around for a few after my time ended and I didn’t feel as if I had to rush out asap.

First time visitor to Four Moons Spa. I wanted to give this spa a glowing review but it is in need of a refresh. First the good: the massage I had was really good as was the "Head Trip" add-on service. The oils smelled amazing! The staff was friendly. The Bali inspired vibe outdoors is relaxing as well as sitting next to the waterfall and Koi Pond. I was offered hot tea after my massage which was nice…. but my friend (who came with me) was not offered tea after her treatment and had to ask for it (strange). It was definitely a perk that Four Moons allowed my friend and I to bring our lunch and drinks to hang out at the spa after our treatments. They offer sound baths and other services that I would have liked to try. From a marketing standpoint and to help get repeat customers - I offer the following suggestions to the owners: signage from the parking lot that points towards the front desk would be good. The gift shop had some really nice merchandise but it would be even better if more product testers were set out so that customers can smell or try the products on their skin. Most of the daybed wood has been weathered from being outdoors and needs a fresh coat of stain or paint to refresh the ambiance. Same thing for some of the linens on the daybed and cushions in the swing chairs. Found out that you only get a robe and lockers if you book multiple treatments. Why not let every customer feel special when coming to your spa by issuing a robe to hang out in after the treatments? I was in the rose quartz room, which was OK. But when I got off the massage table to get dressed, I noticed the door to the room was half way open because there was a industrial white tubing going out the door from the air conditioner. This was unsightly as well as the lack of privacy getting dressed was concerning. In the gift shop, there was a strong smell of mothballs. Not exactly the smell you expect when you walk into a spa!! I was told that it was mosquito repellent. I think citronella would be better scent than mothballs! All in all I give Four Moons Spa a 7 out of 10. With a little attention to details and sprucing up old linens - this place could really be a 10!

They even have a wine club with different options, including the Amphora Club which provides a refillable one-liter bottle for monthly wine refills.
Amazing food! So grateful for the wine 🍷 (beacons blend) that Merica is darn good and the meatballs, steak was delicious, lamb was the best decision my friend has made in a while.

This place does everything well but the atmosphere it does splendidly. The building won an award for its architecture with the use of concrete wood and it is hard to miss. While it is casual and cone as you are the building oozes a sense of elegance and brings local cuisine to life. I recommend stopping in while exploring the soft and friendly Leucadia vibe in Encinitas.

An absolute must in Encinitas! We had the mixed plate, patatas bravas and meatballs, and they were all delicious and great serving sizes. The wine was also great at awesome prices. Best of all, our waiter was fantastic and the outdoor patio was great. I really enjoyed my meal here!

Had an amazing event at Solterra last week! We had our annual company party in their barrel room and front patio. Cindy and her team did an amazing job of making sure everything went smooth. The food was great, ambiance was perfect and we just had a great time. Pricing is very reasonable. Would definitely recommend it for any kind of special event.

I planned my event at Solterra in Encinitas, and it was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food and wine were incredible, and everything flowed seamlessly. A huge shoutout to Cindy, who went above and beyond to make the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. From planning to execution, she was attentive, organized, and genuinely cared about making the evening special for us. I can’t recommend Solterra enough! Not only for the food and vibe but also for the exceptional service. If you’re planning an event or just looking for a memorable dining experience in Encinitas, this is the place.

Our server was great and super friendly and the restaurant itself is very cute! While the food was pretty good its not authentic Spanish food really which was a bit disappointing considering that is a big part of their menu! They do have vegan and vegetarian options which is awesome!
Sofia S — Google review
Always have a great experience here. The staff is very friendly and welcoming as well as knowledgeable about the menu and wines. Happy hour is great, and the membership is very good value for money. The atmosphere is very relaxed, good for all groups of people. I really like the bravas and the calamari. They’ve recently changed their menu and the items look great, I look forward to trying them, so far I’ve had the sausage and it was delicious. Always love coming here.

A couple girlfriends and I came here last night for taco Tuesday and it did not disappoint! The tacos, burritos, chips & salsa were all delish and I love that they have plenty of vegan options! The wines were very good too, we ended up leaving with a few bottles! Definitely need to give a shoutout to our girl Kristen who was the only one working and running around but totally took care of us. We’ll definitely be coming back again to see her and get more wine!

Taco restaurant
Kotija Jr. Taco Shop is a casual eatery located on PCH, offering Ensenada-style Mexican cuisine such as fish tacos, burritos, and breakfast options. The restaurant features outdoor seating areas overlooking a small park to the North and along the 101 thoroughfare, making it a great spot for people-watching while waiting for your food. Known for its excellent yet affordable fish tacos, this sleepy beach scene Mexican spot is perfect for a post-beach day lunch.
Tacos ! Tortas and a beautiful view what more can a girl ask for ? Seriously some of the best tacos in so cal ! Clean location with friendly staff , a salsa bar and a menu with options for everyone
Fatima G — Google review
Carne asada fries were a HUGE portion. Cali burrito was normal proportion. Both were okay. The guacamole was the main thing keeping it down, it had raw white onion in it which I don't prefer and just gave you that onion crunch randomly. The salsa was just okay and almost had a little off taste to it.
Zachery S — Google review
Decent little taco shop right on the thorough fair. There is a small park to the North, and a couple of people tied their dogs there while they ate. The outdoor seating area overlooks the park. There are also seating areas right against 101 as well. Nice place to people watch while you wait for your food, if that's for your thing. The food was pretty expensive, but everything in the area is similarly priced. Food was quickly made, tasted great, and very filling. Not much more you can ask for!

I have had two Fish burritos so far and my husband has had a few also. They have always been great, with a lot of fish. It is our favorite place to get Fish burritos. My husband has had the Fish & Chips burrito which he likes a lot. The Nachos Supreme is large with a lot of meat. Kotija Jr. is not a fancy place to eat, so don’t expect the people behind the counter to wait on you like a server in a restaurant. They have always been decent and friendly, so I don’t know what other reviewers are talking about when they say they are rude or have an attitude.
Ramona C — Google review
Our go-to spot for years! Fish tacos are the best around and plenty of other great stuff on the menu. Great vibes, patio seating, soccer, and we always look forward to seeing Darinel and the team. Nicest and hardest working dudes!
Colin N — Google review
Plates look good but taste is below average of any Mexican Restaurant. It’s sad because we have been here a few years ago and was very good then. No idea if the chef changed but definitely not worth the money. Carne asada was very tough to chew. The fish tasted old plus oil used to fry tasted overused if that’s the right word. I hope they pay attention to these details cos the location is great and I definitely want to see them succeed always!
Zeina S — Google review
I hate giving bad reviews on family owned places after only one experience, but this place was on the bad side of mediocre. The pastor burrito was ok, the green sauce was bland, and the California burrito was nearly all fries and wrap and virtually no meat. Blah.

Place is cozy, and the service was good. The food was great , hot, fresh, and I loved the lettuce and tomatoes on my quesadilla and rolled tacos. Bathroom was clean and sanitary. Great place to eat after a busy day out

American restaurant
Union Kitchen and Tap Encinitas offers a modern-yet-rustic setting with a rotating menu of craft beers paired with New American small plates. Their product-driven menus highlight the quality and purity of each ingredient, allowing the flavors to shine through. The seasonal menu reflects a mix of new and traditional cooking methods enhanced with fresh ingredients, including those from their own patio garden. Brunch favorites include dishes like UNION GUMBO, B.L.T.A., and SHRIMP & GRITS.
I really enjoy this place! The beer is great, the food is great. We sat "outside" on a cold day, and they had so many heaters that it was almost hot. The fig flatbread was great, as were the short rib fries. The Ahi was also wonderful, although the portion seemed a little small to me. Recommended!

Nicole was our server and did a fantastic job. Was very attentive and was knowledgeable on the menu and all of the items we had. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. They have a ton of TVs so it is a great place to watch any event. I would highly recommend Union to anyone in the area.

I come here for the wonderful open air beach vibe, as well as the great food and cocktails. I'd say you're missing out if you don't try the skillet cornbread appetizer, and the flatbreads here. The staff is great here - professional, chill, and very friendly. They love to have well behaved dogs on their patio, and even have a dog menu! Say hello to Isaac at the bar if you recognize him from my photo for this review. They make a great Old Fashioned here by the way...
Steve S — Google review
It’s a cool place, pretty friendly staff. The meatballs dish looks great… it’s not. The meatballs themselves are okay, not great. The tomato/ marinara sauce had little to nothing going for it. The meatballs were not hot on arrival and the cast iron dish isn’t hot. The garlic bread looks beautiful too but no salt. This place is being a pansy about seasoning their food.
Dan — Google review
View was lovely outside watching all the neat cars driving by. Kids meals were great. Gumbo, and the Shrimp & Grits were out of control good.
Jeremy — Google review
Delicious and they have amazing vegan options. The service was phenomenal and the food was great 😌 a little pricey but worth! I would pass on the fries and go salad here for the side TBH! not even for health reasons just because the fries were so so.

I loved the band! I bought the watermelon mocktail and service was with a smile. I was in a rush forgot my card and the manager had it safe in the back super grateful. Thank you for an excellent experience.

Their Brisket Fries are soo good! It was better than I expected, I ate the whole thing and there was very little fat at all on the meat. It was super tasty and just the right amount of food. I came here with two friends, one was visiting from Oregon so we got drinks as well, all of which were great. We had Poke Nachos, BBQ Chicken Flatbread with Margaritas, Beers, Old Fashioned and a shot at the end. Even though it was busy on a Sunday our waiter was really on top of checking in on us.

Breakfast restaurant
Swami's Cafe Encinitas 101 is a popular SoCal chain known for its casual setting and diverse menu. This family-owned cafe offers an extensive selection of sandwiches, salads, waffles, smoothies, and burgers. The relaxed beachy ambiance embodies the surfer lifestyle, making it a favorite hangout spot for locals and visitors alike. The energetic staff adds to the cool vibe with friendly service and a great 70s atmosphere.
I’ve been coming to Swami‘s for about two decades since I was in high school and it’s always consistently really good. It’s right on beautiful PCH right across from the self-realization center and just above the ocean cliffs. The location truly is one of my favorite parts of coming here. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you so it’s not a traditional full service breakfast restaurant but that just means the tables turn quicker and the wait times are never too long. It does get especially crowded on summer days, especially when the beach is popular so that something to be aware of. They have a small parking lot next-door, but there is also free street and neighborhood parking close by. For this visit, I chose the El Paso Benedict and really liked it. It’s basically traditional a Benedict, but with chorizo and avocado, which is a great combination for me. One of the things I also love about this place is that you choose what sort of coffee you want from about 10 different options. I chose three different ones while I was there because it is self-serve I was able to make it just how I like. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area or especially to anyone visiting San Diego.
Zan L — Google review
I would personally rate this place a 2 or 3, but my friends really like their hot dogs, so I’ll give a 4 for the food overall. Starting with the service, it was very poor. They didn’t have any coffee available because the espresso machine was broken, so I couldn’t get what I came for. When I asked for chai tea, I was told it was the last packet they had. I ordered waffles, which were served plain with just a few strawberries. It didn’t feel worth the price, and the taste was just okay — I only ate half. On the other hand, my friend really enjoyed his hamburger and said it was one of the best he’s had.
Vita V — Google review
Great breakfast spot that was able to serve us quickly and without fuss. I ordered a denver omelette and multigrain pancake, both of which were perfect (tip: order the real maple syrup to along with your pancakes!). Our table also ordered the chorizo hash, kids pancakes, and chicken quesadilla. Everybody was happy as a clam. Do not think twice about stopping here!

This location definitely needs to work on the quality of cooking their food. I usually go to the Carlsbad location and they have phenomenal food every single time. Here at Encinitas, I gave it a second try and the food was still mediocre. My french toast came out premade from the early morning. It was not fresh or soft like hot french toast is usually off the grill. More like cold and dried out from being under a heat lamp. Then they forgot my potatoes and bacon, after a reminder it came out pipping hot which was good news. The people sitting across from us didnt even touch their food and just left. Both times I've eaten here were during the weekdays. Sadly I won't be coming back to this location until they hire more kitchen staff or improve their cooking.
Lisa W — Google review
I ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon, and unfortunately, it was a big letdown. The food arrived cold, the English muffins were extremely dry, and the portion was small except for the overwhelming amount of bacon, which threw off the entire flavor. The potatoes were cut too large, undercooked, and lacked seasoning. My husband did enjoy his burger, but even his potatoes were undercooked and disappointing. How do you mess up something as simple as potatoes? I’m giving two stars only because of the burger.
Afnan A — Google review
Loved the food and the beach vibes at this restaurant. The chilaquiles were fantastic, as was the veggie omelette. Hearty portions too so enough leftover for a second meal. A large selection of coffees, including organic options, and plenty of outside seating. We’ll definitely be back!
Chris S — Google review
While they have a great variety of breakfast options most of the food is mediocre. The seared ahi wrap tasted like one of the ingredients had mold, even though the blue cheese wasn't on the ingredient list :) lobster egg Benedicts were not great as well, seafood tasted like a canned version that spent a few years in the storage. Pineapple pancakes were great, the only food item I would recommend! Also love the chill vibe of the place.
Volodymyr K — Google review
This is the original and also the very best Swami’s location. I have been coming here for two decades at least it feels like and the quality and atmosphere have been the same. Amazing! Can’t say enough good things about this location. We live in Vista and have our own swami’s, but being at the this location hits different. The vibes are so good here.

A busy, convient coffee shop located on Hwy 101. Quality Coffee. Hard working, energetic employees. I had the Kyoto style cold brew- oh so good on a hot day. Any Coffee you order here is gonna be amazing. The food though... pretty pricey for a simple breakfast/lunch. Ordered a chocolate croissant but there was barely any chocolate in it ☹️
