Shopping
The Shoppes at River Crossing is a delightful outdoor shopping destination that offers an array of dining and retail options, making it a perfect spot for both shopping enthusiasts and casual visitors. With its charming atmosphere, you can enjoy leisurely strolls while exploring various stores ranging from electronics to fashionable footwear. Although the layout requires some walking between shops without indoor corridors, the vibrant environment compensates for this minor inconvenience.
Great variety of stores! Great to be able to drive up to the store you want or walk around to all of the stores. May not be as fun in freezing weather lol.
Willis D — Google review
This is such a fun shopping store with great deals. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful which is an added plus for any shopping experience. I would highly recommend.
Vivian S — Google review
The store overall is nice, however they need more selections of material. Specifically interior design, architecture and manwha/ manga.

Love love love this place! There are so many different shops to go to. I love.that it's outdoors! It's like the perfect "hang" place! It's always clean, everyone is always nice, and there's rarely any violence! We have only been here 6 months and I have only heard good things about this place! Great place to meet friends, take family, and of course great place to shop!

Park
Nature & Parks
Amerson River Park is a vast natural oasis spanning 180 acres, boasting woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. The park has been recently renovated with a multi-million dollar project, offering an immaculate wilderness experience. Visitors can enjoy picnics by the Ocmulgee River and explore the waters via canoe. Additionally, there are over 3.5 miles of walking trails that wind through tranquil woodland areas, providing opportunities to escape the city for a peaceful half-hour stroll.
Amazing park created where the water treatment plant used to be before a big flood in the early 90s. I love that there is a big paved loop path that is accessible as well as more “off road” hiking trails by the river and a pond. There is also a playground my kids love, plenty of parking, and a bathroom. Great views of the river! Bring bug spray if you go on the trails near the water, as the area is heavily wooded and there is lots of wildlife.
Hannah S — Google review
This is generally a clean park although there were a couple places where other people were smoking marijuana, which was not enjoyable to walk through. There are pavilions and overlooks here and plenty of space to hang out or walk or jog. There are a lot of memorials here where people drowned in the river so be super careful of the water here
B — Google review
Great off trail hiking with beautiful river views. Pavement trails available for those who prefer to walk, cycle, run & etc. They also provide an exercise circuit available free for those interested in working out & kids play ground. Safe & clean. Recommend for all ages
Wanda E — Google review
Very nice park, it’s clean, quiet and relaxing. They also have a park gym and area for tubing. My walk around was 30mins they also have small trails that’s connected to the big trail. I went in the morning, and it’s shaded and paved!
Brit G — Google review
It was my first time visiting Amerson River Park with our CHOSEN life group, and I will personally be back . This park is a little hidden gem tucked away in North Macon. Gorgeous. Most of the trails are shaded by overlapping trees and It is filled with beautiful views of the river. There is a park for the children to play and pavilions for gatherings. At every turn there is picture worthy scenery for a morning walk, golfing, or a special event. A must see.
Tessany L — Google review
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to speak up today because I truly care about our city. My husband and I have lived in Macon for nearly 10 years, and one of our favorite places has always been Amerson Park. We've enjoyed many peaceful walks along the river and have always admired how beautiful and well-maintained the park has been—until now. Today, we took our one-year-old grandson to the playground and were heartbroken to see how neglected this part of the park has become. The slide was broken in a way that could easily cause serious injury, and there was a hole in the flooring large enough for a child to trip or fall through. There were no baby swings available, and the existing swings were not only old and noisy but seemed unsafe. Worse, the playground itself was dirty, and mold was visibly growing on the shade structures. I’m not writing this to complain, but to raise awareness. This park is a gem in our community, and it deserves attention—especially the areas meant for our youngest citizens. Our children deserve a safe, clean, and fun place to play. I sincerely hope someone in the parks department sees this and takes action. We love Amerson Park and want to continue visiting it with our children and grandchildren, knowing they are safe and cared for. Thank you for listening

I planned on going rock hounding unfortunately this place was not what I was looking for. However, it was a beautiful place for a good walk with friendly people.
A C — Google review
The trails are great and I love using the free fitness equipment. My daughter has a great time at the playgrounds. I do wish the view of the river from the pavilions was cleared out.

Beer garden
Live music venue
The Society Garden is a popular community hangout with various outdoor spaces, including a cozy patio and a spacious beer garden with live music events. The indoor area features multiple lounges with stylish decor and a hidden game/karaoke area. This dog-friendly venue also hosts workshops and yoga pop-ups. While there were some concerns about the food menu not being updated, the staff was apologetic and accommodating.
Very nice outdoor experience! 🍸 🍹 The Mimosas were fresh and citrussy! 😊 We had brunch prior to our arrival. No food was purchased at the event.

This place is a hidden gem in the middle of a strip. Walk down the stairs and it opens up into a garden complete with holiday themes, two big screen tvs, a stage for live performances, a taco truck, fresh pizza and good vibes. We came for an impromptu visit to watch a game, so we didn't eat. However, the food looked and smelled amazing and the people sitting around us had high praises. They also have a Speakeasy style room that you can rent out for events that is accessed through a bookcase.
Mickey R — Google review
Went on with the wife on a little road trip and read about this place. They had a food truck, bar, and multiple seating areas. There was a band out of 4 that were scheduled to play, got to listened to 2 before started pouring, btw, there was a $20 each to get in that weekend. But overall, great atmosphere, every one was friendly, very spacious. We'll come here again if we're in the area. Also, pet friendly, that was a plus for us.
FAS — Google review
Great for families with kids. Lots of them here. Good beer selection and good food. Lots of space for people. I personally like a more adult experience so I doubt I'll be back. Had to come back for a birthday party. Earlier in the day was much better with less drunk folks not paying attention to their kids or dogs.

Society Harden is a great place to just chill and relax and have a nice evening out with friends or even by yourself. The atmosphere is so relaxing. Listen to live bands and have a cocktail. It very spacious, outside or inside seating, and there's a food truck on the grounds or a few different really good food choices in walking distance, which you can pick up and bring it in with you.

Jennifer is hands down one of the best bartenders at The Society Garden. She’s quick, attentive, and always makes you feel welcome no matter how busy it gets. Not only does she mix a great drink, but she also has an awesome personality that makes the whole experience better!!

Went for a Halloween cookoff event, which was fun. Cool Halloween decor and artsy/hippie vibes. The many kids screaming and running through the seating areas ruined the experience and my group left early. It felt like a kindergarten crossed with a bar.

Located in Macon, Georgia, Ingleside Village Pizza is a quirky pizzeria known for its New York-style pies and subs. The restaurant also offers an extensive selection of imported beers. The eclectic and fun decor adds to the dining experience. It's a must-visit destination in Macon's diverse culinary landscape. Additionally, the gallery located in Ingleside Village features monthly exhibitions showcasing paintings, pottery, photography, and carved wood objects.
First of all, the pizza is great! It's order and they bring it to your table, but no table service - so if you want something, you go get it. The place is very appealing to look at, there's so much stuff you won't see it all in 100 visits. All beer is in bottles or cans. It's not the cheapest, but we enjoyed our meal.

Super cool local pizza place I. Macon GA. The inside decor is awesome, the people that work there are super nice and the pizza is a 10 out of 10!! We also had the breadsticks and a small salad ❤️

Really good pizza, but the wait times during their busier hours are pretty long for a single slice of pizza. Their beer choices are seasonal and delicious. The inside is a lot to look at, and keeps you entertained during a long wait time. Great place for small groups of friends or couples.

Simply great pizza and a great atmosphere. We were just passing through but if we passed through again we would definitely stop by again. Pizza is seriously about the crust and these guys nailed it!!!

Nestled within a charming cottage that dates back to 1934, The Back Burner Restaurant is a delightful gem in Macon, GA. Since its establishment in 1997, this cozy eatery has become renowned for its innovative Continental cuisine, featuring an array of steaks, chops, and seafood that tantalize the taste buds.
After a long, exhausting day at work, I was seriously craving seafood. I randomly came across this spot and decided to grab their seafood trio to-go since I was too tired to dine in. Usually, takeout from other places feels like an afterthought, but The Back Burner did not disappoint. Everything was on point—flavor, presentation, all of it. Perfect way to end the day! 🤤😋

Only small issue i had was right after Zudan, the server, took our drink order; he stood within view speaking w Mgr(?) for near 5 mins before he went to pour our drinks to bring to us. And also he didn't ask about an appetizer at the same time, but we ordered that and salad when he came back with the drinks. It's good we had water to sip on until he brought the drinks we ordered. Make reservation! And we arrived at 5pm before the larger crowd started coming in. Great food, people, and atmosphere. Not for everyday dining: 2 ppl, total cost $100.xx, 2 sodas, 1 bar drink, 1 app, 1 salad, 2 entrees. It was delicious! Lobster Ravioli and Spanish Paella and we brought some home to eat tomorrow! Great place for date night or special occasions.

We had such an amazing experience from start to finish! Melanie was attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and all her recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. It's worth every penny if you haven't been to this restaurant you should go!
Meetia R — Google review
Justin was an excellent host/waiter. He knows his stuff. I was a lil disappointed because i actually went for the lobster dinner but that is only on Thursday. We had crab cakes, which wasn't that good. A bit too fishy for me. They also lacked seasoning. The lobster ravioli was good. Chris had the lamb chop dinner which was okay. Overall it was a nice spot for date night. I'll be returning to try the lobster dinner.
Kishia J — Google review
You need a reservation but we arrived almost an hour early and we were sat immediately on a Saturday. We sat in a private corner and enjoyed this place so much we will be back. It's a little pricy but the food is excellent! We decided to get a special for an appetizer and the prime rib for dinner as it's their special on Friday and Saturday night.

What an incredible discovery! My wife and I had hoped to dine at Natalia's, but they were crowded. Instead, I looked for another mom-and-pop style restaurant in Macon, and to my surprise, we found this gem. I'm so glad we didn't go to Natalia's. This restaurant is phenomenal, from the service to the food, and the bartender, Brandy, was excellent! I was a bit surprised to see some patrons wearing ball caps and shorts, but that's okay. We will definitely be back!

We were traveling through Macon and found this quaint little restaurant on line. it was located on a back street. The server was nice & polite. We both ordered the NY strip steaks. These steaks had to be one the toughest gristled meats that I’ve ever eaten. I told the server. She said she would tell the Chef. There were no offers to discount the check or visit from the Manager, or even an offer to comp the desserts. I Honestly don’t know restaurants like this stay in business.

S&S Cafeterias - Riverside Dr.

4.3

American restaurant
S&S Cafeterias on Riverside Dr. offers a comforting Southern dining experience, reminiscent of home-cooked meals or Grandma's cooking without the hassle of preparation and cleanup. Visitors can savor a variety of Southern dishes such as fried chicken, greens, mac and cheese, and delectable sweet potato pie. The cafeteria-style ordering process may be unfamiliar to some, but it's easy to navigate.
7-10-24 I enjoyed my dinner tonight. Liver and onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage and a huge piece of chocolate creme pie. Delish! And the staff were very friendly and smiling! A refreshing change from other restaurants I’ve patronized and staff don’t speak nor smile! Kudos to S&S!
Deborah C — Google review
The rating would have been a tad bit higher for service if we didn't have to repeatedly ask who is serving the chicken. A guy named Clarence walked away and the other server just stood there while my grandson repeatedly said he wanted 3 legs. I was getting frustrated when finally the server of the cornbread and rolls stepped up and put a breast and 2 legs on his plate. The cashier made the visit there a little better as it reflected on the receipt. I really appreciate her thoughtfulness. Two of the server's actions stood out as they really didn't care about the customers nor that job(my opinion). That was my second time at S&S. The first time was splendid and I looked forward to my next visit. If yesterday is to be a determining factor I would never go back again. But since I know that wheat and tares grow together, I will sum it up as 1 good and 1 not so good. I most definitely will return and see who will break the tie; good or not so good. The waitress did get a tip because she was all smiles and she did her job by taking care of my grands and I. The cashier was courteous and considerate. My visit with my brother and the manager's smiles were highlights of the day
Brenda E — Google review
This was the worst meal I have had in about 20 years. I was looking for some southern comfort foods but got very low quality food with no seasoning I recommend you skip this place.
James C — Google review
Interesting place. Never been to one before. Lot of people taking take out. Unfamiliar with ordering process ..but it's pretty easy ...you either order a la carte or pay for a combo. Some of the food servers (salad lady and dessert fella) were really nice to us. And our table service lady was kind too. Food was a bit....um....institutional...though I heard that the pecan pie was excellent

Great southern dining experience. My college brother and his Mom invited me to lunch last week and boy was it good. I drove down from Jonesboro and he and his Mom from Powder Springs to eat there. And there’s no disappointment with S&S Cafe. The food, service, and environment was 💯. I just moved back to Atlanta from Philadephia. I haven’t done on food like this in 8 years. Fried Chicken, greens, Mac and cheese and oh the sweet potato pie or custard to some made the meal complete. This will be my hour drive excuse to get out of town.

My daughter got the string bean Salisbury steak rice and gravy with jello.Hubby and I both got fried fish.Mine with Mac, corn muffin, cabbage, and Lemon meringue. His with Mac n chz, Mexican corn bread(it has peppers inside) rice casserole (cheese, broccoli) and strawberry shortcake.
Faith W — Google review
This place is like a maze! They should have a better layout or have it arrange differently so you know which way to go. I order the 4 veggie plate(fried squash, cornbread dressing, Mac n cheese and cabbage). The fried squash was the only thing that was good. The Mac n cheese was the WORST! It tasted like plastic and yellow food coloring! Also I felt the price wasn't worth the amount of food they put in my plate.

Italian restaurant
Carrabba's Italian Grill is a popular chain restaurant and bar known for its wide selection of classic Italian dishes in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The founders, Johnny Carrabba and Damian Mandola, built the menu around cherished family recipes that have been passed down through generations. Since its establishment in Houston, Texas in 1986, the restaurant has maintained a focus on using wood fire grills and sautéing techniques to bring out rich flavors.
The food was absolutely amazing! Our waitress Tanjay was very sweet and attentive. I've never been to a Carrabba's, so I wasn't sure what I would be getting, but I'm glad to have gone. Trendy yet comforting atmosphere, excellent food (I'm in love with the bread, with oil 😋), and outstanding service from the kitchen to the table. After a hard days work the ambiance of this restaurant definitely hit the spot. Thank you guys!

My server Kalid absolutely took care of my order. Food was perfect as I could've asked for-- so the cooks were on it, as well. Hope y'all are having a good day up there.. you sure made mine better. Crab cakes to go-- crispy wings were fantastic!

Visited on Father's Day and it was crowded. It was storming, Carrabba's lost power for a couple of minutes, and it was hot but the staff was amazing! Thanks to the hard-working employees for keeping it all together and working so hard. It was a great Father's Day

Tiana was my server. She did an incredible job with my party. Everything was perfect and my food was hot. The limoncello bread pudding was delicious to top my night off. I came to this establishment on November 4th around 12:30.The food was amazing and the atmosphere was really nice. I especially want to mention the host she had red short hair, who was so patient and kind — they even held the door for us and didn’t get upset when it took us a little while to come in. It’s rare to find that kind of genuine kindness and great service these days. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We took a friend for her birthday lunch to Carrabas. I can’t say it was all that. The service nice was awful!! The waiters started out being nice but after having to ask for things like drink refills c 3 tubes before getting it, promised bread would be brought out but wasn’t, was bright coffee with no spoon…we arrived at 2:30. Maybe 4 or 5 tables had customers, otherwise the rest of the restaurant was empty. No excuse that we weren’t well cared for. We were pleasant enough through it all though, even though the waitress started showing attitude. When the bill arrived it was over $100. When the waitress handed me the electronics to pay the bill, it showed tip options and only gave percentages starting at 18%. I looked to find a way to change the tip and as I was looking, the waitress gave an offensive gesture. I went ahead and tapped the 18% tip for her, but All in all I would not choose this Carrabas due to the service. Not sure we will go back again!
