Park
Popular park with a 22-acre lake, multiple hiking trails & a museum plus cottages & campsites.
This is definitely one of the most beautiful state parks in Georgia! I’ve been coming here every year for 39 years. The camping and the cabins are amazing. Playground, beach, hiking trails and gift shop are great for the whole family. The staff is extremely sweet and attentive. Especially Jack, Robbie, Vickie and Beckie who help make our stay magical every year. We appreciate all that you do to keep this park in such great shape!

This is a very nice and well maintained state park. I heard that, this is the second oldest state park in Georgia. I visited with my family and friends. I needed to pay $5 for each car. I has a very nice visitor center, you can warm your food there by microwave and take food outside sitting on chairs. A fire place was running outside to make your body warm. Mind-blowing lake view will make your mind calm, you may take bath on the lake. It has adjacent wash room but didn't find any place to take shower. We walked through the trail and good a water falls. It feels artificial waterfalls but you will not be boar. For day tour with your kids, family and friends, I will recommend it.

Vogel State Park is one of North Georgia’s most scenic and well-kept spots, perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors. The lake is a great place to fish, whether you're an experienced angler or just relaxing on the shore with family. The hiking trails are well-marked and offer a mix of easy loops and more challenging climbs, all with stunning mountain and forest views. The new visitor center is a real highlight—it’s modern, clean, and packed with helpful information about the park’s history, wildlife, and local attractions. The staff is friendly and always ready with tips on the best hiking routes or picnic areas.Overall, Vogel State Park is a peaceful escape that combines natural beauty, recreation, and great facilities. It's definitely worth a visit year-round.

This park is absolutely beautiful — it has something special about it. We arrived a bit late, so we only did a short hike, but it was really nice, with a good level of effort and surrounded by peaceful nature. There are many hiking trails to explore, and the whole place feels calm and well taken care of. I was really looking forward to kayaking, but unfortunately, the area was closed that day, which was a bit disappointing. Also, I felt there could be a better introduction or clearer signs for the trails — it would make the experience even better. Still, the park has a unique charm. It even has areas for weddings, great facilities, and very clean bathrooms. Overall, it’s a beautiful place worth visiting — perfect to relax, breathe fresh air, and enjoy a quiet connection with nature.
Andrés F — Google review
Nice quiet campground. The facilities have been recently renovated with upgraded trailer slots with sewer hookups in most. A new, very nice visitor center at the lake. Wi-Fi is sketchy. ATT cell signal very poor. The Wi Fi worked ok.. The camp hosts were awesome!
Patrick E — Google review
One of the best state parks in Georgia — about a 2-hour drive from Atlanta. The drive itself is stunning, with winding roads that motor enthusiasts will love, especially in the fall when the yellow, orange, and red foliage is absolutely breathtaking. The trails are great for hiking, particularly if you’re experienced — I highly recommend the Blood Mountain Trail. It’s also a fantastic spot for camping, especially with family. Pro tip: bring your own food and drinks, as there aren’t many options nearby.
Rohit C — Google review
Gorgeous and scenic all year round. The lake trail has some stunning views. There is a man made sandy beach which is kid favorite.

Very beautiful park and fall color view. There are camping sites, both for campers and primitive tents. The entrance fee is $5. Worth going to places like these.....

Best park for miles around including Atlanta! never crowded with plenty paths to walk or jog. Best of all no dogs but there is the north Georgia technical college just a across the highway. In fact there is a nice paved path connecting two places. After your run, there are wonderful pavilions where you can relax and have your lunch!

We visit Meek's Park every week. We're so grateful for the awesome clean trails and bathrooms. The play ground is amazing and is fenced in which is perfect for my little runners. Thank you UC for providing such an amazing place for us to play and get healthy.

I enjoyed going to the Sorghum Syrup Festival. Lots of booths for arts and crafts, and plenty of food choices. There is plenty of parking, but the distance to walk to the event from some parking is pretty far. Be prepared. If you have a handicap permit, be sure to have it displayed for closer parking in an area without inclines.
Gina L — Google review
Beautiful dog park with so much to love! Meeks Dog Park is such a gorgeous area — peaceful, clean, and full of nature. Millie absolutely loved exploring the trails, taking in all the new scents, and enjoying the views. It’s the perfect spot to let your pup unwind and connect with the outdoors. The only downside was that the dog water fountain wasn’t working during our visit, which would’ve been super helpful after all the excitement. Overall, still a wonderful place to bring your pup, and we’ll definitely be back! 🐾🌲

Beautiful place, came here just for a walk, turned out to be a lot more scenic than I thought. Took about 45 min to get around the small trail and see the park and water.
Joe T — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful park with some nice hiking/walking trails. Be sure to visit the squirrels with some unsalted peanuts, they will come and take them from your hand very gently. The birds are also friendly and will come eat nuts from your hand too! A very pleasant and relaxing place. It is kept clean and well cared for. Thank you for such a beautiful spot!

Our family has held several reunions here through the years. Always an enjoyable time. Covered picnic areas with plenty of seating and space. Lots of room for children to play, clean bathrooms, nice trails to walk or jog. Lazy creek flows through a portion of the walkway as well. Baseball fields are in great condition

Southern restaurant (US)
Nestled in the heart of Blairsville, Grits & Greens is a delightful dining spot that pays homage to traditional Southern cuisine. With roots steeped in Appalachian culture, this restaurant serves up comfort food that evokes nostalgia while also offering some creative twists on classic dishes. The menu features beloved staples like Fried Green Tomatoes and Country Fried Steak alongside unique options such as the "Major Mother Clucker," which combines spicy fried chicken with collard greens and pimento cheese on a brioche bun.
Downtown Blairsville, quaint area, busy with local traffic. Friendly staff (Danielle was our excellent server). Food was really good. Can’t go wrong with most anything. We had eggs, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, coffee, ham, bacon. All great!

This is our 2nd visit. The first time I had chicken and my husband had the fish and it was okay. This time, I had the smokey burger, and that was yummy! I asked for it medium rare, and it was done to perfection. It has 2 large onion rings on it, along with barbecue sauce and smoky cheddar cheese.I had to push it down so that I was able to bite into it. Make sure you ask for extra napkins because you are going to need it when all of those yummy juices start flowing. I also had the macaroni and cheese. My husband had the country fried steak, and he said it was o k. He had the fried oakra and macaroni and cheese for his 2 sides. The okra was hot, crispy and not greasy at all.It was delicious, so was the macaroni and cheese. We both enjoy both of those. Everything came out hot for us.It was wonderful.

Very friendly staff, quick service. We ordered off the cafeteria food, you walk up and they put what you want on your plate. I don’t care what you get, it’s very filling with a meat and 3 veggies, plus biscuit or cornbread and bread pudding which is very yummy! I ordered the fried chicken and it was extremely delicious with a very crunchy crust yet juicy inside, great southern comfort food!!

We were pleasantly surprised by this spot! The service was very good and the food was delicious. We couldn't believe the size of the hamburger patties! The prices were very reasonable. (Hint: you can order a fried green tomato on the side!) We will be back!

The food was delicious! The servers were very very attentive. At 6:00pm on a Thursday .. very good service.

I had the cheeseburger with what tasted like smoked cheddar cheese and french fried onion rings on it and barbecue sauce. It was so good that it was remarkable. You could tell that it was made with real beef. It was so delicious and juicy and wonderful. I plan to eat there quite often when I moved to Hiawassee. It's worth the short drive for the quality of the burger. The price was great too. The service was wonderful. If you're a sports fan they have a whole separate room just for sports fans and you would love it. I can't say enough about it You just have to experience it. Tamara's Terrific Treat. PS I want to try other meals, but the burger was so good that I don't know if I'll be able to.

Great food, we stopped in to have breakfast 😋 the food was fresh, and there was a homemade taste. Highly recommend abs they were setting up a nice looking lunch bar as we were leaving that started at 11am. We will definitely stop by again when we are in town. Thanks for the great food and service.

We just happened into this restaurant. Many towns have these mom and pop places to eat. THIS ONE IS THE BEST SO FAR. Wife: 4 vegies/water Me: 1 meat-3 vegies/Tea Dogs: 1 piece of meat loaf Both came with choice of bread AND desert. $35 with tax. I recommend this place unless you're looking for more formal dining. And, the portions are big (esp meat). I'd give them 5 stars if the meat loaf wasn't my flavoring. The dogs ate it up, though.

Cabin Coffee Co. is a small chain known for its house-roasted coffees, espresso, bagels, pastries, and sandwiches. Located in Blairsville, GA, this upscale coffee house and roastery offers breakfast and gluten-free options. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy hot and cold caffeinated beverages as well as breakfast and lunch options six days a week. The welcoming atmosphere includes ample space to relax or work while enjoying their delicious drinks.
The friendly greeting set the tone for our experience at this beautiful coffee establishment. As we were driving away I read the story of the founders and how they have created a franchise with locations across several states. The heartbeat of this business is a desire to provide a comfortable and beautiful place for families and friends to gather over a cup of coffee. That comes through incredibly clearly in this particular location. Our beverages were correctly and deliciously prepared from locally roasted beans that were packed with flavor. By far the most impressive part of the experience were the employees. The young lady who greeted us was friendly and full of energy. It was clear that the people working here were bought into the mission and that made this a beautiful beginning to our anniversary weekend. This place is why locally crafted coffee shops set the bar.

Great atmosphere to sit in and enjoy a drink with a small bite to eat. It's a cozy place to visit. We were there on 4/26/25 a guest there gave us a suggestion on a drink menu had a lot of different flavors and varieties to choose. The drink was superb. This will be a spot to visit in the future when I'm back in your town.

Absolutely outstanding service! From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed. The staff here go above and beyond with their hospitality, treating every customer with kindness and care. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the coffee is top-tier — rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with love. It’s rare to find a place where people care this much. Cabin Coffee Co. has truly earned a loyal customer. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the area!! The atmosphere is so warm and comfortable and inviting. There are plenty of seating areas inside and outside. They have a variety of drink and food options. Everything that I have ordered has been delicious! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They can get busy at times, but they really make an effort to keep things moving quickly. I highly recommend this coffee shop !

Amazing service and even more amazing coffee! We stayed nearby this past week and made almost daily trips to Cabin Coffee! The Tumbleweed is our favorite drink. Can’t wait to be back next summer!
Tara J — Google review
Excellent coffee shop. Luxurious log-cabin design, reminds me of a National Park lodge. Coffee is very good. I ordered Cafe mocha and it was very chocolaty and strong.
Ross B — Google review
The iced lattes here are far too milky for my taste they lack a strong coffee flavor. It’s also disappointing that you have to pay extra for additional espresso shots just to make the drink taste balanced. I’d expect a standard latte to have a more noticeable coffee presence without needing upgrades.
Lindsay B — Google review
Sorry guys. I realize you have attempted to make this place your own….however it was very warm and inviting already. It’s just not the cozy and welcoming atmosphere it once was. The specialty drinks are no longer made well, IMO. Also, I know you close at 4pm but you can’t make a fresh pot of light roast at 2:30? Really? Your staff is more interested in leaving at the strike of 4PM than making a customer feel special. We were even asked to leave once right at 4.pm. You’ll get the tourists but myself and some other locals I’ve spoken to say no.

El Manzanillo is a fantastic establishment to celebrate any special event. The quality of the food and service is exceptional. Their main dish, Texas Fajitas for Two, consists of delectable beef, chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. These mouthwatering ingredients are served on a sizzling HOT Comal alongside a plate containing rice beans and salad topped with sour cream and guacamole. The restaurant also offers bottomless fountain drinks to accompany your meal.
Stopped for dinner, it was a Sunday night so no margaritas. I ordered my standard Texas fajitas. My girlfriend had the tacos. Service was good. Nice place, clean and festive atmosphere. Only 2 tortillas with my fajitas, typically you get at least 3. Plenty of fixings, including guacamole. Chicken and steak chopped up beyond recognition. Shrimp were good. I would go back again, if in the area

Very good Mexican food - better than some I've had in town. It definitely had a more authentic flavor. The salsa they serve at your table was tasty. Personally, I had the carne asada tacos and they came nicely dressed with half a lime, some sort of spicy sauce, rice, and refried beans. The staff checked on us on occasion and didn't try to move us out when we were done eating so we were able to chat a bit longer. I look forward to bringing my husband back for dinner sometime.
Sandy S — Google review
Super staff! Food was good. The only downside was, I ordered a burrito to take home. They brought me a bag when we paid our tab. When I got home, and ready to eat my burrito, I found someone's half eaten fajitas in my bag. No burrito.
Lee W — Google review
A great Mexican restaurant. It is probably my favorite in the area. Friendly staff, great service, and the food is well above the average for Mexican places around. I don't think I've had anything that was not great. They also have a large menu with a lot of different items you don't find everywhere. Plus a variety of hot sauces to choose from. Their serving sizes are generous, and cheese dips are huge.

Simple and delicious Mexican fare, served quickly with pleasant staff. Mexican music and decor throughout. The menu is huge! And many clearly labeled vegetarian dishes. Portions are large, plan to share or take a box home. The elote was especially good. Wish we had room to try the deserts, will have to go back!

We visit Blairsville once a year to attend the Scottish Highland Festival. El Manzanillo is on our list to enjoy at least once and maybe twice while we are in town. The food is excellent and the service is as well. Friendly and attentive, we want for nothing when we leave. Wish we had them back in our hometown in central Kentucky!!!

Horrible Service. Waiter brought our ticket back to table waiter had a terrible attitude would not come back to table to ask if we needed anything. We sat the empty water glasses at the end of the table along with the empty chip basket. Waited on all the other tables was friendly to everyone else. When Checking out they ask how our service was. I told them. All the person checking out said was I’ll tell him. Will not be back. Food could have had a little more flavor.

My husband and I have eaten at El Manzanillos 20+ times over the past few years, and it has been consistently amazing. Food is yummy, service is quick and friendly, and we almost never have to wait more than a few minutes for a table. We recommend trying the Tacos Diablos if you like a little spice.... you won't regret it! All of their nachos are fantastic (he has had ALL of them), and we love the flautas, too, although they aren't as zippy. We grab some hot sauce and enjoy!

This is my favorite pizza place in Union County. The sauce is tasty and I don’t like red pizza sauce. Ordering fresh is always going to be better than the buffet duh, but the buffet is still great. Plates and silverware are plastic and styrofoam which I’m not a fan of, but you can just eat off a pizza tray like I do and it’s a great experience.

Steak house
LongHorn Steakhouse is a popular casual restaurant chain renowned for its grilled beef and classic American cuisine, all served in a rustic setting. It was established in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia, originating from one man's love for exceptional steak despite having few patrons initially. By chance, a snowstorm trapped motorists in the city during 1982, leading them to seek refuge at the then-known LongHorn Steaks Restaurant & Saloon.
Sometimes the restaurant is very loud depending on what time of day you go, but food has always been good and service is usually relatively quick. My fave is their steamed asparagus! My bf tried a salad tonight, which had fruits and chicken and pecans in it with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing and that flavor combination was exquisite!! We also love their appetizers!! Featured in these pics is their Texas tonions and their Parmesan crusted spinach dip with baked pita chips. Soooooo good!!!!!!! We also love their margaritas, especially the dragon fruit one that they recently added.

We went at a busy time and got sat in about 10 minutes as a party of three. The server was really nice and the food was delicious. My medium rare ribeye was not as medium rare as the two other New York strips, however those are also thicker. Regardless, my steak tasted better than theirs.
Tracy L — Google review
Food was exceptional. Service however not so good Bartender was unattractive. Never bothered to check on us and took several attempts to get our check. The other customer next to us was discouraged because it took 10+ minutes to even get acknowledged. It wasn't that busy either. In fact, we were told it would be a 20-25 minute wait for a table, even tho there was easily at least 10 tables clean and ready for seating. Hence the reason we chose sitting at bar... The food was awesome tho.

Allison is the best, she has outstanding customer service! This place stays busy, but she keeps up with the hustle and bustle. The front door staff tonight was kinda as well. Plenty parking, relaxed casual environment.

Me and my husband never have a problem when we come to Longhorn we were going to go eat at Brothers restaurant but did not get service right away and we knew right then it was a mistake. We were so happy to go to Longhorn even though there was an hour wait we actually got to sit at the bar right away. We also got served right away with drinks and food because it was a first come first serve. Our waitress was amazing and very, very sweet. We always have great service when we go there, but I think it was even better this time and we will never go back to brothers and we will always stay with Longhorn

Very busy on 08/31, but seating was not long and service was very good. The food was just so-so. Strawberry salad, house salad, lobster chowder (very plain, lobster?), mac and cheese, were just not very exciting.

It was pretty busy as I expected on a peak time on a Friday October evening. We waited about 45 minutes to sit which we expected. Once we sat down we were greeted very promptly by Noah. I've been in the restaurant industry for 19 years. This was the best service I have even received, not only me but everyone in his section. He was funny, charming, and great at upselling!! Very good communication with what was 86ed. We weren't upset about the baked potatoes being 86ed because I understand how a busy Friday night in October goes. Food was fantastic as well. Drinks were a little slow coming out but once again, as expected. Noah you are the absolute best person I've ever had to give me and my wife service. Yall need to keep this man at all cost!! I hope you get to read this personally!! We will be back and ask for Noah!!
