Zoos & Aquariums
Hattiesburg Zoo, located in Kamper Park, is a 12-acre outdoor attraction featuring over 75 animal species from around the world. The zoo offers various activities such as a carousel, train rides, and a petting zoo. Visitors can also explore the edZOOcation Center and enjoy the Parris Jewelers Mining Sluice. Surrounded by natural beauty and picnic spots in Kamper Park, this zoo is a popular tourist destination in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
The zoo is so easy to find. Plenty of parking. We didn't have to walk far to the entrance. The zoo staff were so friendly and answered questions and facts about the animals. The park was so clean. They had a train and a splash pad for the kids. If you do go, go by and check out the smiling goat. He made my day.
Kimberly W — Google review
The Hattiesburg Zoo is AMAZING! Every single event and holiday is curated and made for both kids and adults to have fun. All of the zoo keepers are knowledgeable and kind. The animals are well taken care of and whoever does the events needs a raise! It’s a small zoo with a GIANT heart. We just did the Twilight Nights event and wow. Jeremy and Kate absolutely crushed it. Between getting to pet the ambassador animals to going on the special tour, it was such a memorable night for our family! Such a gem.
Katie W — Google review
Had a great time with my son. Park was clean and the employees were very nice. My only qualm is the the park only accepts digital/electronic funds, debit or credit cards. Cash is not accepted!
Chad J — Google review
My daughter loved her suprise visit to the zoo! She was very suprised at the about of awesome treasures she got from her bag at the mining area. Giant amethyst, shart teeth, fools gold, an arrow head, and bunches of gems and fossils. Even the tiny rocks were cool! We took fun pictures in the photo booth and smashed pennies. We were not prepared for the splash pad but she would have loved that too. I like the aluminum cups they have at concession areas, so they can be taken home or recycled. She also loved the train ride. Over all, very fun afternoon!
Lacy S — Google review
I made a day trip out of it and enjoyed the conductor's tour. More animals live here than I expected. Weirdly. I enjoyed seeing Fred, the South American ant eater.
Jason C — Google review
My family loves our local zoo! We spent the later part of our afternoon today there and we brought family from out of town. Even with the zoo being packed because of Spring Break, we had plenty of fun and they even had a bounce house for free and face painting for only $10. We got yummy Dole Whips from the little cafe by the Giraffe station (highly recommend those and the funnel cake fries 🍟) The animals are well taken care of and the park is well-kept and clean. We were sad to see the Black Jaguar pass this morning(Sweet Maya girl will be missed 😺) Highly recommend checking out the zoo, especially if you have kiddos! My son also now volunteers here as a Jr Volunteer and loves it!
Ashley D — Google review
Everything was so experience I spent over $200.in just a few hours I want go back. When I was young we had a family reunion every year I loved it, now there are hardly any animals to see, the glass was so dirty you couldn't see anything. The petting zoo was crap nothing but goats and the man there call me an old lady, I told him I'm not old. He never said sorry, if I called him fat I would say I'm sorry. So I'll never go back.
Joyce R — Google review
Fun experience for my entire family. My kids age 4 and 9 loved the animals. I loved how organized the layout was, with unique decorative pieces and music. The food was ok.

The Porter Public House is a fantastic hangout spot for friends, offering delicious fish and chips and meatloaf. Their cocktails are also incredibly tasty. The service provided by Kate is exceptional, making her the ultimate server. The atmosphere is cozy, although it might become overwhelming on busy weekends. However, weeknights offer a lively ambiance. Additionally, they host trivia nights on Tuesdays at 8 pm, which may be a bit late for some but the host does an amazing job!
Went here for Valentines Day dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. The service and food were exceptional. The portions were large enough to split. If we weren't from out-of-state, The Porter would be a favorite dining choice.

Had a new server and he did a wonderful job! The food was really good! Atmosphere was great! The fries were slightly over seasoned and I do wish that the grilled cheese on the kids menu said it comes with bacon or we would have been told prior to it coming to the table.
Ali L — Google review
We stopped in this very welcoming pub at 1:30 PM for a late lunch the other day. This was our first time to eat here. Since it was so late (and we are watching our intake) we shared a Porter Pub Cheeseburger lunch. Our friendly server, Dehilia, happily split our food and served it on two boards with a smile. The burger & fries were delicious! The atmosphere was cordial and the music was great. The entire experience was wonderful! PS- We did leave a good tip, more than if we both ordered a meal. We always tip for two when we split a meal because there are two customers to serve.

Great place to get pub food. I had takeout and was very convenient. I got the Smashburger, which came with fries. The burger was a bit smaller than anticipated. The flavors and textures were great. The fries were decent. Nothing spectacular. I’ll come back and try again.
Alex N — Google review
The food was phenomenal. I order the club sandwich. It was one of the best clubs I've had. Hubby ordered a Cajun burger and it was also delicious. The onion rings are next level. The server seemed overwhelmed. We came in about 2pm on a Saturday and the lunch rush had just ended. Our server was more concerned with bussing tables than checking on us. Hopefully, it was just an off day for him. I'll be back to try more of their menu soon.
Jessica — Google review
Our first time here and it didn’t disappoint!! Food was great, especially the corn beef and cabbage. The waiter was excellent, can’t remember his name, but very attentive. Got our food fast and it was nice inside and not crowded for a Saturday afternoon. We will definitely be back. Great job guys!!

Miranda was so amazing and helpful! She gave the best suggestions and made sure we were well taken care of. The cookie dough eggrolls were absolutely incredible. ♾️/10!!! Will 100% be coming back!

Delicious food! Buffalo chicken salad was amazing. Dog burger was melt in your mouth good. Meatloaf was recommended as one of the best items on the menu, but was only ok. Sides that came with the meatloaf were better than the meatloaf itself. The garlic mashed potatoes were not garlicky at all and cold coming out though. Service was good, we were continually checked up on!

Coffee shop
T-Bones Records & Cafe in Hattiesburg, MS is a one-of-a-kind spot that combines a vinyl record store with a cozy cafe. It offers classic vinyl records alongside a menu featuring coffee, sandwiches, salads, and delectable homemade pastries. The cafe provides a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for patrons to enjoy freshly brewed coffee while browsing through records or savoring their meals.
Imagine if there was a place where you can have a killer lunch while listening to classic vinyl spinning in the background and being surrounded by kitschy gifts and books? Man, that would be so cool... Wait, what?... It exists?! Oh, yes it does! Let me introduce you to T Bones Records and Cafe. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was going to love this place. It's hard to be the atmosphere here. I was excited to see the unique soup, salad and sandwich options. The food did not disappoint either! Very cool spot in Hattiesburg, I'm really looking forward to my next visit!

Great place to get sandwiches in Hattiesburg. Very nice place inside however I got to go. The sandwich was better than I thought, lots of flavor and it was delicious. I would come back.

There is nothing else Like T-Bones!! You can fill your void with Vinyl, CDs and good grub. A unique, one-of-a-kind place local to Hattiesburg and conveniently on Hardy street heading towards the reviving downtown. You walk in to a full fledged record shop. Albums, records and music for all genres. New, used and mystery packs are available. Shop the merch; hats, T-shirts and stickers among other paraphernalia. Good sandwiches, salads, breakfast items and desserts. Order at the counter, pay, get your drink and find a table. The soothing sounds of whatever the DJ is spinning will fill your ears until your dinner is served. Today we had the club sandwich and Havana ham. It’s was toasted in a panini press, piled with the meats and dressed the way you want it. Chips, Mac and cheese or a salad. The chicken salad on croissant is good. It’s actually warmed and served with cheese. A unique experience. The cheat code here is to order the Havana Ham sandwich on a toasted croissant 🥐! The hummus is good and served with pita toasted on the flat top. Soft drinks and teas abound. Good service, good food, it’s not fast but it’s worth the wait.

It's a cool environment with occasional fun events which I appreciate. The food is good but a little pricey for what you get, but pretty much everything is now. Overall, I recommend and would definitely attend an event again. The parking lot is also a little snug on a busy day.

Great selections on menu to suit all taste. The salads and pressed sandwiches are my fav but the flavored teas are excellent. Service is incredible and very attentive

Love the record shop atmosphere! Amazing service and the food is really good as well. Salads were made fresh and full of flavor. The coffee was great, I’ll just come for coffee instead of going somewhere else!
Douglas G — Google review
I've only eaten food from there one time and it was surprisingly quite tasty! I went back again to offer some old 33 records and/or album covers, because the day before I had spoken to an employee who said that the person I needed to talk to would be in the next day. I wiped off the items and placed them in covers, and put ones without covers in between covers. I offered them free because I felt they were at least collectors items. I spoke to a manager the next day who was not very nice, even though I explained to him that there were some items that if he looked past the first couple of items that I felt sure they could add to their wall or personal collection, etc., but he tuned me out. That's all my story for now, and I'm stickin' to it!
Deirdre D — Google review
Went here with my friends to try the coffee for the first time and experience the live music. They got my friend’s order wrong and they also forgot to give me my dessert I ordered. Over all I love this place the coffee was stunning and the atmosphere was amazing. Just wish I got to experience the food.

M.M. Roberts Stadium, also known as The Rock, is a 37,000-seat stadium and the home field of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles college football team. Originally opened in 1932 as Faulkner Field, it has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years. The stadium is a lively venue during Golden Eagles' home games and is considered one of the top attractions in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Great Stadium to watch A USM Football game.
DAVID A — Google review
Typical stadium. The seats are made so that you are able to see over the people in the row ahead of you. No peeking between or around someone's head. The energy at the game was great! As one would expect, parking can be somewhat difficult with a long walk to the stadium.
Kimberly T — Google review
1. I had to explain to the person scanning tickets 4 times that I had 5 tickets. She kept stopping us after scanning tickets saying I only had 1 ticket. 2. Several of the toilets did not flush. 3. There was several inches of standing water (not raining) where we had to walk and sit that never left and had a foul odor. 4. There was broken pieces of concrete scattered throughout where we had to walk/sit. 5. There was not adequate parking. They only had two small shuttle buses going to the convention center. We arrived at the designated pickup spot before the game was over and still waited an hour. The driver kept stopping before getting to the designated pickup spot to pick up people that were last in line instead of the people that had been waiting for an hour. 6. The DJ played music during the time the official was explaining penalties on multiple occasions.
Tonya M — Google review
Great stadium to watch a game. Despite the rain there were places to watch monitors in walkways and made the best of it. Go Eagles
Rex M — Google review
Miss State vs USM game. Stadium was fine. Decided to use shuttle service from convention center to the campus. They provided 2 small shuttle buses for a big game. We waited an hour and a half to get a ride back. Older people and young kids stranded out in the late Aug sun. Not at all well planned.
Steve H — Google review
Went here for the MS High School State Championship Game. Concessions are incredibly expensive here. Not only expensive, but paltry in portion size. We got a order of nachos and they literally put enough chips in the paper bowl/box to cover the bottom. Seemed like it should have had 3x to 4x the number of chips. The stadium itself is ok, maybe above average. I imagine it’s a fun place when it’s filled up, but I’m sure that happens very rarely. Its nickname is The Rock, for what reason, I don’t know. The restrooms aren’t that big, and probably due for a makeover, as much of the stadium is. Views from the seats are very good, and their sound system is obnoxiously superb (can get quite loud). Parking is pretty good though. Pretty easy to get in and out. Would like to try an actual big USM game here, if that ever happens.

I used to come here 40 years ago. It's as good if not better than I remember. Great selection and when the donuts are still a little warm...Just heavenly.

One of the best Shipley locations I have ever visited. Purchased 1/2 dozen glazed for $6.75. Worth every penny! Always have the fresh taste

Everything Delicious!!! Shipley's was such a treat! I was in town from Atlanta and stumbled across this yummy place. The donuts were so good & fresh! My favorite was the Blueberry Cake🥰 Cinnamon Rolls were so delicious!! Every donut I tried over the weekend was worth it!!! We even stopped on our way home to bring some back! So glad there isn't one in Atlanta!

Exactly what we were looking for! Grabbed a dozen glazed, chocolate covered, mixed dozen, and a few twists/eclairs. Great variety to choose from and the quality was impeccable. Soft and glazed to perfection were the glazed donuts. Amazing how many others miss on this staple. Friendly and patient staff. Thank you so much for starting our day off right. Keep on, keeping on!!!

Shipley Do-Nuts are the kind of experience that reminds you of childhood memories..a least that the experience I get whenever I bite into a warm and gooey donut from their store. A feeling of walking into your local bakery on a Saturday and smelling the yeast donuts..There's nothing like it in the world..I just love it 😀 😍 So thanks Shipley for giving me that feeling back 😀
Claudine F — Google review
Um i moved into a house near this place. Worst mistake of my life. I can get to shipleys and back in under 10 minutes! It's a classic doughnut that tastes like a person actually made them. They have an amazing selection. If you have time you have to walk in and see them. I imagine this is what heaven is like. I used to be a crispy cream fan but I've discovered what a real doughnut is. I'm never going back. Also, everyone who serves us so happy and helpful. They must treat their employees very well
Eric M — Google review
Unprofessional and extremely disappointing experience. I typically don’t leave reviews, but the lack of professionalism and basic customer service I experienced at Shirley’s Donuts deserves to be shared. A vendor placed a large $135.59 donut order on my behalf for pickup. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication on our end and the order wasn’t picked up on the scheduled day. That’s on us—but here’s where Shipley’s Do-Nuts completely dropped the ball. Despite having my contact information and the vendor’s, no one from Shirley’s ever attempted to call or follow up to say, “Hey, your order is sitting here waiting.” The donuts were presumably just left to sit or be tossed. When I realized the mistake a couple of days later, I took the initiative to call Shirley’s myself. I explained the situation and asked if I could come pick up a replacement order the following week. The staff member I spoke with was polite, took down my number, and assured me it would be “no problem at all.” Based on that conversation, I assumed the issue was resolved and I could simply pick up the replacement order as discussed. When I arrived on the rescheduled pickup day, I was met by a young female manager who had an incredibly unprofessional and rude demeanor. She informed me that if I wanted donuts, I would have to pay for a second order. I was completely blindsided. This was never mentioned during the call I made the week before. At the very least, why didn’t anyone from Shipley’s Do-Nuts call me to clarify this before I made a special trip? I left my number for exactly this reason. If they had simply said, “We’ll need to charge you again,” I would have at least been informed and could’ve made a decision accordingly. Instead, I was met with a bad attitude, zero accountability, and no resolution. In the end, I left with no donuts, no refund, and $135.59 wasted. The entire situation could have been handled so easily with a phone call or even a shred of proactive customer service. Mistakes happen—we’re all human—but the refusal to communicate, take responsibility, or even speak with a basic level of courtesy is what makes this experience so frustrating. I won’t be doing business with Shipley’s Do-Nuts again, and I’ll be sharing this experience with others to save them the same hassle. If this is how they handle customer issues, I’d think twice before placing any kind of special order.
Jeremiah L — Google review

Fairley's Wings & More is a popular wing house in Hattiesburg, known for its fresh and delicious wings. With a variety of sauce options, including the special Spicy Garlic Wings, there's something for everyone. In addition to wings, they also offer hand-pattied burgers. The casual and sports-centric atmosphere makes it a great place to hang out and enjoy good food.
Check out the new menu! Delicious! I got blues downtown tonight with fried green beans all in with spicy garlic & dill pickle didn't survive long enough for pictures amazing as always!! Fairley's never disappoints us! Our favorite go to sauce is the spicy garlic! The wings are melt in your mouth fall off the bone amazing! The burgers are juicy & full of flavor as well! We have had several appetizers here the fried pickles are great & tried the fried green beans tonight!! Yum yum! I am a whiskey girl at heart can't stand fruit but I trying their rum punch tonight it was amazing too!! Highly recommend if you've never been!

Great wings for a good price! One of the most flavorful chickens I’ve ever had, very saucy. My only complaint was the chicken was a bit dry, it took me a while for me to chew the chicken down, and there was one where I just had to spit out. Overall I would come back. I hope that this was a one time thing? Great ambience and staff.
Alex N — Google review
At 3:06 pm, I called in my order and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. I waited over a hour for food that appeared to have been cooked earlier, and then warmed up in oil for a few minutes before being covered in sauce. The wings were unusually dry, indicating a lack of freshness. The fries were stale and cold upon arrival, with the cheese already hardened. The only positive aspect of my experience was the hour-long playlist that I listened to while I waited for my recooked food.
Liyah J — Google review
Fairley’s wings is an absolute gem! Our waitress was so friendly and sweet, making us feel right at home from the start. The food? Incredible. The wings (especially with Patron margaritas 👌), potato skins, southwest eggrolls, and fried okra were all hits. To top it off, our waitress surprised us with complimentary chicken sticks!! Such a thoughtful touch especially when our kids were wilding out!! It’s the perfect spot when you’ve got kids in tow and still want to enjoy great food and a good drink. Quick, tasty, and served with a smile. Do yourself a favor and stop by Fairley’s —say hi, grab some wings, and thank me later! We were visiting the Lucky rabbit and it’s a 2 minute drive or five minute walk for there.
Mina J — Google review
If you haven’t eaten here yet, make it a priority to go! We did wait about 45 min for our food, but it got pretty busy after we walked in with a group of 8. The food was top tier! The wings just cannot be beat. If you order the dill pickle wings just know they are very salty but that was definitely expected. The fried mushrooms were the best fried mushrooms I have ever eaten and I can be very picky about those. The burgers were cooked to perfection and were a good size. Our waitress was so sweet and very attentive. Nobody’s orders were messed up and anything we asked for was brought to us fairly quickly! We will definitely be back!
Kaleigh T — Google review
The only true negative thing about the place is that they need more staff. The poor servers were amazing, but they only had two for an extremely busy lunch. The food was pretty good (the dill pickle seasoning is a little salty if you can’t do salt, but still tasty). I would definitely go again though.
Corina A — Google review
Great service our server was very knowledgeable. We went after the game so he made us aware of the wait on wings. He was attentive and recommended some good drinks the peach peach was my favorite!! Will definitely be back when we come back in town.
Camille H — Google review
I went in expecting a little hole-in-the-wall wing spot, but Fairley’s was a whole vibe. The atmosphere was lively, the music set the tone, and the food did not disappoint. The wings were cooked perfectly—crispy, flavorful, and sauced just right. But the real star of the night? The drinks. They were absolutely immaculate

Barbecue restaurant
Murky Waters BBQ - Hattiesburg is a laid-back establishment that stands out for its emphasis on barbecue dishes and craft beers. The venue offers a charming atmosphere with live blues music, and it is located in a renovated house adorned with captivating blues art and photographs. The food is of excellent quality, accompanied by an array of tasty sauces. The service is outstanding, with attentive and friendly staff who are knowledgeable about their roles.
🔥 First time at Murky Waters BBQ! My wife and I is on our way to Biloxi and decided to stop in. Soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and seated right away. The vibe in this place is cool a music themed, artwork on the walls that makes it feel like somewhere you’d wanna kick back and relax. We didn’t go overboard since we were just passing through, but we split an order of the burnt ends, which came with collard greens and mac & cheese, and shared sweet tea. The burnt ends were nice, tender, and had solid flavor. I added a little sweet and spicy sauce from the table, and that did it for me. It was a slow time of day, so it was nice and quiet, real chill. Our waitress stayed on point too, made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. This wasn’t a planned stop, but I’m glad we pulled in. I’ll definitely be back when I’ve got time (and room) for a full plate.

We had a peaceful lunch at Murky Waters BBQ. Just me and some kids during a weekday. Walking inside there is a distinct ‘smoked’ aroma which we got used to eventually. The food was delicious smoked meats. The kids menu was healthy. We ordered the kids burger and fries. The kids chicken bites are a smoked chicken lightly breaded which made it more chewy and a bit drier than what my kiddo looks for in chicken pieces. I had the brisket salad which was very large and could have easily been split into two salads. The brisket was delicious and I could choose my own sauce or dressing. The service was very polite and working very hard. We stopped here because it was directly across from the zoo and had a kids menu. The bathrooms are clean but limited to one each. We may try it again someday when we are in town.

Blackened Shrimp po-boy was really good w/ the mac&cheese. Customer service was amazing was greeted with seconds of entering. Clean bar top not sticky like other places. Great bar/drink selection $27 w/ tip for just myself priced accordingly portion sizes are good definitely worth it. Music isn’t to loud.

Went Murky Waters Restaurant and Bar Hattiesburg,MS. The food was amazing, and the service was the best. Had Anora as my bar tender and server. My buddy ordered the nachos with briskett, which was amazing. Had an order of wings half and half sweet Asian and hot honey. Was sinfully good. They have a happy hour and Wed night 4 to close .85 cents each. Stop by and enjoy some outside beers ScareBear and Tropical IPA were awesome.

Dry chewy flavorless brisket, watery gumbo, slowest kitchen ever, barbecue sauce tasted generic… I will say the collard greens were the lone bright spot but super slow service. I was about the only customer there for an entire hour & now I know why… Had to get my food to go it took so long…

Randy is an excellent bartender. He makes a superb Bloody Mary. The BBQ and fried okra on its own is worth it! Live music on Saturdays.

I had to send back one of my sides because you could only taste black pepper and salt. The brisket was extremely dry. I've been to the Gulfport and Bay St. Louis locations and loved both. Was extremely disappointed in this location. Service was also extremely slow. Took my waiter 30 minutes to refill my drink. Better bbq in town. Strick's comes to mind.

Would definitely suggest a visit. My first time here and I really enjoyed it. Order the half rack of ribs with baked beans and mac and cheese. Food and service was amazing.

Loved the shaded dog friendly patio and calm, relaxing atmosphere. Service was super quick. We had the cheese rolls and Greek salad and were impressed with the quality and portion size for the price. The Greek salad in particular was delicious with a large assortment of ingredients. Definitely could be an entire meal for two. Highly recommend!

We love Mediterranean food, and this place didn’t disappoint. The food was great! Fresh, tasty, and very reasonably priced. Definitely a keeper!

Layla went above and beyond for us. We sat outside with a great atmosphere (with 5 kids)! The guitarist had trouble after playing a couple of hours. He felt bad (was really good). We saw the Manager go hand him a check. He refused it but the manager insisted. Love the safety sign in the ladies bathroom. Great time, food, & will be back 100 more times!

My fiancé took me here to experience Greek food southern style and I absolutely loved it! The hummus flavors are just fabulous and it’s obviously a great working environment because the staff were just…. Jolly! That’s the best word for it. Jolly people spreading joy and flavors. Went back twice in 3 days it was so good.

Can not sing enough praises for how our visit went today! Im from out of town and me and my mom needed to figure out where we could eat (with a large dog) before hitting the road. So we came here. Not only was the food and service amazing, they had dog bowls to give my dog some water. The bartender put ice in the bowl to keep the water cold. Then after getting lots of love from customers, the bartender surprised us by bringing out some unseasoned grilled chicken so my dog could have a little treat. 15/10 experience!

Employees seemed stressed but we tried to pay no attention to it because my husband and I have both worked in food service. However, it took double the time for our food after being told on the phone it would be 15-20 minutes (ended up being 45 minutes from the time we placed the order to the time my husband left the building). Once we got home with it, we noticed that we were missing a side of ranch from the ticket and there was no pesto on my chicken spinach pesto gyro. Again we tried to just move past and eat because they seemed stressed, but once we got to the fries, we realized they have absolutely no salt, and are raw and stuff in the middle like in uncooked potato. We eat at this establishment quite often and this is not a normal experience. Very disappointing.

We stopped in after reading some reviews. We were looking for good pizza and we found it!! The pizza was fresh, crust crispy, and cheese super melty. Absolutely delicious! I didn't think to take photos before we dug in. The service was great too, we sat out on the patio. I really recommend stopping in and trying their pizza!! I'm sure the gyros are delicious too!
