Discover the magic of Maui's golden pineapples with a visit to the Haliimaile Pineapple Plantation. This working farm tour offers an eco-friendly experience where you can learn about the history, cultivation process, and final shipment of these delicious fruits. As you explore the picturesque Haliimaile farm in Maui's upcountry, you'll have the opportunity to taste pineapples at different stages of growth and take home a souvenir pineapple after the tour. The 1.
First, thank you for your driver named Moses. He is very great at his job. He knows how to drive and entertain his passengers. He is very safe at his driving, and he is very dedicated to his customers. He introduced us to the Maui Gold Pineapple Tour guide, and her name was Kennedy . She gave us a tour through the plant and a tour on the ground. Through the mini bus and she offered some pineapples to taste, which was awesome. Both team members are a blessing to me and the tour. Thank you so very much. God bless you and the team. You are doing an excellent job. Thank you for your time, talent, and energy. I appreciate and value the customer service that I received. Thank you for the teamwork, and the team is Together Everyone Achieves More.

Our tour guide was super informative and polite. Any questions we had he could answer. We got to see all stages of pineapple growth and processing. We even got to taste some fresh fruit and WOW was it good. How does a pineapple taste so much like a coconut?! The gift shop was cute and well thought out with conveniently placed hand washing stations and bathrooms. The restaurant on site was one of our favorite and definitely one we'll be back for. The food and drink was nothing but awesome and totally unexpected from a farm tour. You gotta try the pineapple upside down cake! It's drool worthy.

This pineapple tour was seriously one of the best things we did on Maui—a totally different vibe from just hopping beaches. We learned a ton about how they grow the Maui Gold pineapple, which was way more interesting than expected. Our guide was awesome and made the whole thing fun. Pineapple picked fresh right there is insane. It's the sweetest, juiciest we've ever tasted. If you're looking for a unique Maui experience that's both educational and delicious, book this tour!

We had a fantastic experience visiting the Maui Gold Pineapple plantation in Maui! Our guide, Rudy, was incredibly knowledgeable — his years of hands-on experience growing pineapples made the tour truly special. We learned so much about the process, from how many pineapples each plant produces to the best time for harvesting and what causes them to turn yellow. One of the highlights was getting to plant our own pineapples and sampling some of the fresh fruit — absolutely delicious! Rudy also shared fascinating stories about the history of the plantation and the surrounding area, which made the tour both educational and unique. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui. It’s a wonderful way to gain a deeper appreciation for this iconic island fruit and the people who grow it.
Brenda H — Google review
Farm tour was awesome. The tour guide was entertaining as well as educational in teaching us the laborious process to grow these delicious fruits. There are amazing views of the coast as the farm sits just at the edge of the rainforest. The pineapple is delicious, different from what we have at the grocery stores. The Maui soil and weather create so much more flavor and sweetness.
Tim L — Google review
This was advertised on my Facebook when we got to Maui so we decided to go and see what it was about and I’m so glad we did! It was one of the highlights of our trips to go see an actual pineapple farm. Kennedy was our tour guide and she was amazing! She gave us lots of information and even taught us how to try to grow a pineapple at home with easy steps. We also got to try fresh pineapple which is the most delicious pineapple I have ever had! You also get to take a pineapple home for each person that comes which they pack travel safe for the airport! We are going to order more pineapple from here because that’s how good it was! If you love pineapple then you have to go to this tour!
Ryan M — Google review
Excellent tour. The guide provided several pieces of pineapple from top, bottom and core of the fruit to allow you to tasted the sweeter bottom portion, the flavorful top portion and the less flavorful core. Two pineapples provided in a TSA approved to go box at end of tour was great.
John S — Google review
Maui Gold Pineapple tour was such a great experience! Our tour guide, Kennedy, was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. The best part was we were each able to take home a delicious pineapple and had ZERO problems at the airport. The Maui Gold Pineapple store was stocked with tons of great souvenirs and treats to take back home, including hand crafted pineapple dog treats that our pups devoured! Will def be back!

The Hali'imaile Distillery Tour & Tasting Room on Maui offers an inexpensive and short tour that takes place in a small building where visitors can witness the entire process from fermenting mash to distilling, bottling, and packing. The distillery produces rum, vodka, gin, and whiskey. Visitors can enjoy a tasting of three out of the four liquors at the end of the tour. The knowledgeable guide provides an informative and engaging experience while leading visitors through the production facility.
This place offers a really great and informative tour. It is a fun and educational way to spend an afternoon that ends with a tasting of three of their four liquors - whiskey, rum, gin and vodka. Our guide was personable, knowledgeable and easy to interact with. She did a great job of keeping things moving while also keeping things interesting. After the tour we did a tasting that was well organized in a nice clean environment. The glass-blowing shop next door was just a bonus - it was free to walk around in and see some really cool fixtures and how they are made!!

David!! Your amazing!! Your kindness and time spent today are highly appreciated!!! Loved the tasting and your knowledge you shared about all of the cool things we got to try. Loved the gin and normally that is last on my list! This was so affordable and easy to say yes, to!! I love that I got to pu4chase a bottle for home! Can't wait to take the other back and share with friends before we leave. Can't even wait to get back to our group and share the experience. We had maybe we will come back!! I highly recommend you stop in and do the tasting here!

We love doing distillery tours and tastings. This tour/tasting is worth a stop. I have had the Pau vodka before. I wanted to see what else they produce. They do a gin that you must take home. I'm not a gin drinker, but loved it. The Whiskey is a Heaven Hill KY product that they bring to the island and put a special spin on it. It's a young whiskey but priced right. The rum (Wahina) is what we purchased to take home. Also priced right. Our tour guide (Sorry, i forgot her name, if your boss reads this, shes the one who went to Boston University) (She needs a trip to Heven Hill to do research) She was knowledgeable, and like all of the locals, very welcoming. Visit Maui, visit this distillery. And while you are at it, go over to the glass making place next door while waiting for your tour. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the gallery is spectacular. Watch them blow glass from the upstairs loft.

David offered a very informative and knowledgeable explanation of the distillery process. The samples were outstanding. Well worth the time and small price.

We had a ton of fun on a rainy Maui day here at the Hali’imaile Distillery. The beach and whale watching were out due to the rain but this was a great 1 hour tour. Informative and neat to see a craft distillery like this operating on island. The tasting at the end was great, but by rules it’s only samples. Then we had lunch at the Hali’imaile General Store across the street. I highly recommend this short trip up country.

Bakery
Komoda Store and Bakery is a beloved Maui institution that has been serving up delectable pastries since 1916. Owned by Betty and Calvin Shibuya, this charming mom-and-pop shop in Makawao is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. The bakery offers an array of traditional treats, including cream puffs, malasadas, and their famous 'stick donuts' - doughnut balls served on sticks like sweet kebabs.
Pretty much if they are open I'm stopping for some malasadas for the road. I'm partial to the guava, also like the vanilla cream and the turnovers. Lots of nearby parks, beaches, scenic drives and road trips nearby, so basically lots of reasons to buy a bag of malasadas. Also sold individually. $10 minimum for card pay.
Lisa M — Google review
Desserts aren't my forte, so I'm not one to get excited by bakeries and confectionaries. Put an ice cream shop in front of me and we have a different story. So why am I reviewing the infamous bakery of Makawao and a popular island wide establishment? Because cupcakes hold a strong second place in my heart. Read on... Whenever I'm eating something from Komoda's, its because someone brought them to work or a party. I will not make a special trip up to Makawao to buy sweets. But after what I recently tried this past Halloween at a friend's house, I honestly would make the drive up. ATMOSPHERE: I've been inside maybe twice, over a decade ago, so I can't comment on the inside digs, but the outside is just what a mom & pop place looks like: Plain, simple, and looks at home in a western movie. DESSERTS: Chantilly Cupcakes I had no idea that chantilly was a local recipe until I Googled it. The specifics are that its a German chocolate cake without coconut. Great for me because I'm not a huge coconut fan. So what does it taste like? The chocolate cupcakes are super moist and just melts in your mouth. The inside is filled with a small amount of the cream that makes a chantilly cake, a true chantilly cake. The flavor is similar to caramel, a bit sweet and a bit salty, and really damn good. The cupcake is topped with the same cream and a maraschino cherry. Wow. This cupcake guy is a total fan. This would definitely kick some Cupcake War ass! Cream Puffs Meh, I've never been a fan of these. I don't care for the texture of the cream puff which reminds me of stale bread, or the flavor of the cream which has a chemical-like taste. Pass. Butter Rolls Four Sisters Bakery does the best job at these because they put an obscene amount of butter in theirs. Here, they go light on the artery clogging. The trick is to zap them for 20 seconds in the micro to soften up the dough and warm the butter. Delish! French Apple Pie A co-worker ordered a whole pie because she absolutely loves it. The slice I tried was absolutely delish! The crust was flaky with that great homemade baked taste, the filling was full of chunky apples and not overly sweet, and the whole thing is topped with a mixture of crumbled crust and possibly a dusting of sugar crystals which gave it a slight crunch. Yowza! This guy may be turning into a dessert lover... OVERALL: Must try cupcakes for the cupcake fan.

A must-visit spot when you're in or passing through Kula. They serve traditional pastries with a exquisite and unique flavor. The PUFF CREAM PASTRY and the MALASADAS are their signature items. The service isn't the most friendly, but the food is absolutely worth it, 100% recommended.
Victor V — Google review
It’s been 30 years since I last had a cream puff. And it’s still incredibly delicious. Simple and no frills historic bakery. No secret or complicated menu. Local spot that’s been crushing it for over 100 years. What they have is the best on the island. Get there early because things sell out. Must stop for anyone.
R- S — Google review
Oh, Komoda — the heart of Makawao mornings and the soul of sweet memories. The stick donuts and malasada sticks reign supreme — golden, pillowy perfection with just the right kiss of sugar. Then come the Long Johns, stuffed with silky vanilla custard, a simple joy that feels like childhood wrapped in parchment paper. And those cream puffs — clouds of happiness filled with vanilla dreamlight. The Cocoa Puffs bring a chocolatey comfort that lingers long after the last bite. How I miss the malasadas bursting with guava jam, each one a tiny portal to paradise. Don’t even get me started on their heavenly butter rolls, cinnamon snails, jelly donuts, turnovers, and Danishes — each one crafted with that old-Hawaiʻi soul that can’t be replicated. Komoda’s isn’t just a bakery — it’s a tradition, a taste of aloha that lives on in every crumb.

Desserts: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: Worth a go for some good sweet treats. Gotta get there early! The extended review... Desserts: Peach Pear Turnover - 3/5 - Not a bad turnover. Pretty standard fare. I would have enjoyed it being a little bit more crispy. Donut Sticks - 4/5 - One of the staples of the store and a must have. It's definitely a very fresh donut, nice and and chewy and perfectly glazed. Cream Puffs - 5/5 - OMG. You must get these. The filling is amazingly rich and tasty. We bought a dozen and I could not stop eating them. Service: 4/5 - Friendly service. Ambiance: 3/5 - Slightly run down on the inside and more of a grab and go place since there isn't anywhere to eat.

I have Bought dozens of cream puffs at Komdas for over 30 years. Always good..Got a dozen today for a desert... Today they were not even close to fresh!!! Gummy shells had to have been days old. Stick donuts were hard and dry.. Disappointed to say the least.. So disgusted why would they serve this to any customer.

Casanova Italian Restaurant is a charming eatery known for its wood-fired pizzas, classic pasta dishes, and inventive specials. It has a rich history as one of Maui's nightlife hotspots, offering late-night entertainment and live music on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The restaurant's Wild Wahine Wednesday has earned it several local awards and put it on the map as a top spot for nightlife in Maui.
My friends took me there the night before I leave Maui. The porcini cream pasta I ordered is the best porcini pasta I’ve ever had! This harmonious flavor of garlic and porcini is a pure joy to my taste buds! Lol Pizza is also GOOD! I had an amazing time with friends thanks to them and the delicious food as well.

Just came down from sunset at Haliakala. This place is recommended by the daughter of our friend from highschool. So here we came. Called ahead for a table. When we got there we were seated in 5 min. Wait staff very helpful. Soon we were eating bread and talking story. When our orders came, so much food! When you call to place your reservation, Tell Em' Joe sent you...they will say Joe Who... that's me 😁

We stayed in Makawao for a few nights on our trip to Maui and decided to try this place for dinner. I ordered the rigatoni vodka chicken pasta and my husband got the carbonara. We also split meatballs and their homemade focaccia bread. It was all delicious and the portions were huge! We each got another meal out of our leftovers. Highly recommend trying!

Something’s only get better with time. If you haven’t been to Casanova’s Italian Restaurant in Makawao, what are you waiting for? An invitation. Well now you have one, from me. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants on Maui. Now even though they have new owners and a really great renovation to the restaurant the old charm and great local Makawao vibe remains the same. Guess what? The food is Better Than Ever! As our fantastic server Chris described to us, you can go somewhere else for a dash and dine or sit down in the back of dining room and enjoy a “buffet delay”. You say what is that? A slow leisurely dinner orchestrated in courses at the speed of Island time. Start with an Aperol spritzer and the best homemade focaccia bread , straight out of their wood fired brick oven. Relax and enjoy. Then a great garlicky Caesar salad and make sure to have the anchovies. Now try and choose wisely for the next course. We went with the good old standby of Bucatini Bolognese and the world’s best meatballs and pasta Carbonara. Creamy delicious with prosciutto and maui onions. We were now delaying and Chris remembered we were still celebrating my wife’s birthday and BAMM. Madagascar vanilla ice cream with homemade sauces and a cool striped cookie. After Chris lead the restaurant in a boisterous Happy Birthday to my wife we remembered why we always come up to Makawao to eat at Casanovas. Grazie

This original location has better, more authentic dishes than the restaurant in Kahului of similar name. ATMOSPHERE: The open-air restaurant is plain and simple. Old interior that's a mixup of tavern, bistro and patio, but clean, which is what matters. The place turns into teeny bopper heaven on certain nights, sans the stage, dance floor, and stadium-style seating off to the side. The parking lot is tiny, but there are quite a few street parking along Baldwin Ave. BEVERAGE: Moscow Mule Textbook version. FOOD: House Bread Soft and chewy Focaccia with olive oil & vinegar. Delish! And comp with any entree or pasta dish upon request. Kaesar I absolutely hate kale but not here! How does it work so well as a "caesar" salad?! Highly recommended. Calamari Fritti I'm not a fan of steak cuts but these we an exception. Linguine Pescatore Great choice for seafood lovers. Black squid ink linguine with mussels, scallops, calamari, shrimp and kalamata olives in a tomato-based sauce. The flavor was very good and the pasta cooked al dente. The amount of seafood was good but could've used more pasta (usually it's the other way around). Filet Mignon Fettuccine The dish simply needed more seasoning. Rigatoni Chicken Vodka Beverly Hills Excellent recipe with notes of broccoli. SERVICE: Our server was awesome. At first I thought she was just okay as she didn't really check on us, but when it came time to split the bill (at her suggestion), she did it snap, crackle, pop! Some places make it sound like rocket science (ahem, Polli's.) OVERALL: Good food and really good pricing.

While Visiting Maui, we decided to take our friends to Makawao upcountry to check out this beautiful little town with many cool shops to see and fun places to eat and drink. We had an early morning and knew that a good cup of coffee would perfectly hit the sweet spot. Luckily we found this delightful little gem, tucked in the back behind a couple of shops, VIDA by Sip Me Maui. As we walked down the alley to find the cafe, we found a wide selection of outdoor tables for seating to relax, enjoy your coffee or other beverage and enjoy one of their delicious fresh baked goods. They also had nice seating and tables inside if you want to hang out and get some work done or read a little before heading out. The staff were very helpful and friendly, took our order quickly and made it exactly as we ordered. The coffee was great and they have tons of cool specials. They even had a special Thai cold brew coffee that looked fun and the person in line ahead of us got it and reported that is tasted great. While hanging out at their outside table as we were greeted by a nice family of chicks and their mother and most likely the papa too. 🐣🐥🐓 Not only do they serve coffee, they have some great treats for health and wellness, cool stickers and keychains. They also had a cold case with canned refreshments to enjoy if you want something cold and fresh on a hot day other than an iced coffee. Super glad we made the detour to check out this great coffee shop and look forward to our next visit to stop in and have a yummy coffee. ☕️ Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope you have a nice delicious and relaxing treat here at VIDA by Sip Me Maui. Mahalo and Happy Island Time. 🏝️ 🤙🫶

I highly recommend to stop by this little charming coffee shop! We had two macchiato with pastries and enjoyed our break, more than expected. 🤩 The two girls serving are very friendly and made us feel like at home. And we even got small espresso cups! I don't drink coffee or caffeine, so my review is limited in that regard. I got the Italian soda, which I found was very refreshing, tasty, and had this wonderful froth on top that was fun to sip. They even had a sugar-free option. As for the caffeine-free latte, it was okay. I liked the flavor and it reminded me very much of the Dragon's Den just nearby in it's aroma and flavor. The food service was excellent. They could have used less ice, especially since I came on a rainy/cloudy day and it was already somewhat chilled outside. I felt that the drink didn't last long and for the price, I would expect more to drink and less to throw out of my cup after (too much ice!) But, overall the customer service was great and the atmosphere was good and chill. Could be a great place to talk with a friend over a cup of coffee. They had dry seating and it was slightly raining outside and it felt cozy in the store enclosure.

Nestled in the picturesque Maui upcountry, Pukalani Country Club offers a slice of paradise for nature enthusiasts and golf aficionados alike. The club's signature golf course treats visitors to breathtaking views of the ocean, valley, and the renowned Mount Haleakala. Despite being primarily residential, Pukalani is home to this hidden gem that ranks among the top 10 attractions in upcountry Maui. Situated at an elevation of 1,526 feet on Mt.
Pukalani country club is a great round of golf for a very great price. Beautiful scenery many exciting holes higher up in the elevation and get to see beautiful views with every hole. Any golfer would have a great round and a great time playing on this course. They also have a very nice driving range to warm up before your round. Recommend to anyone that comes on vacation or a local to play the course.

Well maintained moderately challenging course with friendly staff and good food in the clubhouse. There was an issue with the booking online with clubs and the round from a 3rd party. Rather than making it my issue the pro shop dealt with it for me, which I really appreciated. Above and beyond in my opinion. I would highly recommend checking it out, very affordable and everything in the pro shop was 40-60 precent off.

Had a fun round at Pukalani! If you’re expecting Wailea level greens and service, go back down to Wailea. Super laid back and affordable - we paid around $150 for green fees (18 holes), shared cart and rental clubs for two. We arrived quite early which gave us time to hit a few balls at the driving range (only takes $1 bills, $3 for small basket and $6 for large basket of balls). Rental clubs were good (I think, I’m a newbie - they were TaylorMade). There was a drink cart on course or you could stop in at the clubhouse after the 9th hole. Super cute Muscovy ducks near the pond on the back nine. Water stations and a few toilets scattered throughout. Great views and the greens were running fast today, noticed some people say it’s slow. Would play again!

Probably the best calamari I have ever had. Burger was great. Don't let the looks of the place cloud your judgement. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Visiting from Florida. This course felt like a hidden gem on the slopes of a dormant volcano. Great course. Great food. Amazing views. Really glad to have played with a group who knew the course. Will absolutely play again.
J.T. — Google review
The course is beautiful but we found the staff to be very rude. I've read other reviews about the staff being nice and helpful but our experience was much different. We felt like they were rushing us through our game and not very helpful at all. Hopefully it was just an off day and not the norm.
VAL — Google review
Poor management because the staff is terribly rude and the grounds need some work. It's unfortunate because it's the least expensive golf course on Maui but if you can ignore the bumpy grounds and lazy staff, it's a beautiful scenic view.

Makawao Garden Cafe is a small, cozy establishment that offers a range of fresh salads and sandwiches. Nestled behind Sherri Reeve's art gallery, this charming eatery provides a casual outdoor garden seating area for customers to enjoy their meals. With an emphasis on homemade dressings, bread, and other delectable treats, the cafe has gained a reputation for its delicious offerings.
The sandwich was so so amazing. The bread they use is so fresh and they have their own recipe to make it so its very good. I got the chicken sandwitch and curry salad. Both were really delicious. The waitress was so nice and the atmosphere was really nice. Definitely coming here again.

My FAVORITE sandwich and salad spot, EVER! Fresh baked focaccia bread 🤤 homemade salad dressings. Most all locally sourced. Highly recommend: Sandwiches: Bacon & Brie, Roast breast of Chicken, Crab & Avo, and Grilled egg plant. Salads: Literally every salad is YUMMMMERS. If you are visiting or live here this is a MUST. Hidden gem for sure.

Wow! What a hidden gem. If you are not looking forward to it then you will walk right past it. This is a great place for a quick bite or a light lunch. Hands down the best fish sandwich I have ever had. Seating is limited but prices are good and the food is fresh. Highly recommended!!!

Found this simple little gem while walking around the town. Probably one of the best fish sandwiches (Mahi Mahi)! And each sandwich comes with a small Caesar salad. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the Makawao Garden Cafe today. The weather was a bit blustery, but after visiting the Haleakalā crater, pretty much everything felt warm! The cafe is easy to miss, as it's just off the street and kind of tucked in behind another building. We both had the crab and avocado sandwich, which was delicious. There was a family of chickens hanging around that were very entertaining as well. The staff was friendly and the prices were very reasonable.

Nice cafe for a sandwich. I had the roasted chicken, the hero of the sandwich was the focaccia bread, it was fresh baked and toasted, and awesome. My friend had the curry salad and I wish I would have gotten that with a slice of focaccia. No refills on the drinks is a bummer. Service was really good as well as the prices, one of the cheaper meals we have had here on the island. Great setting for when it rained.

A casual atmosphere with friendly staff and truly delicious sandwiches. My chicken sandwich was excellently cooked and my husband's eggplant sandwich had great flavor. Highly recommend!

Polli's Mexican Restaurant is a popular spot known for its homestyle quesadillas, fish tacos, ribs, and margaritas. It has been a favorite on Maui for 35 years and offers a playful and irreverent divey vibe. Locals flock to the bar during Happy Hour for ice-cold Coronas, tangy margaritas, and buckets of homemade chips. The tacos are served with chunks of ono and topped with Maui avocados.
This is probably my new favorite spot in town! The food was so good we had to come back a second time (on a short trip to the island). They had a vegetarian options and the staff were so so friendly, the vibes were definitely 10/10!
Bella S — Google review
ATMOSPHERE: Tiny little open-air spot at the busy intersection of Baldwin & Makawao. The interior fits the genre perfect with the Spanish decor, stucco walls and arched doorways. Its a bit cramped with table, booth & bar seating. FOOD: Makawowie Nachos The chips were a mix of homemade and bought. Someone in our group opted for chicken to my dismay, but it was actually really, really good. And the toppings... Talk about a super generous overload! Globs of guacamole & sour cream, tons of cheese, olives & tomatoes. There was actually not enough chips - the total opposite of what you'd normally experience. Chimichanga It's huge! I got the beef version which was shredded. Even though I'm a fan of ground beef it was still delish. Axed the rice. Came with beans and topped with shredded lettuce, sour cream & guacamole. Fresh Mushrooms An entire sizzling platter full of whole fungus done in butter and wine. Good taste, price and portion size. Burrito Supreme I am not ashamed to admit that I LOVE ground beef in my burritos, but that's a difficult wish to be granted. I just prefer the texture of ground vs. shredded. This version is available with shredded beef, chicken, or a veggie taco mix, in which case I went with the beef. It's a humongous portion filled with cheese, your choice of refried or black beans, rice which I omitted, and crowned with dollops of sour cream and fresh guacamole, and garnished with lettuce shreds and a pool of salsa all around. The flavor was mild, but just drizzle on some Cholula hot sauce and we're good to go! I could only finish half, so the other half was saved for lunch. Seafood Enchilada Dinner The two flour enchiladas were covered in a sheet of melted Monterey Jack that were stuffed with generous chunks of firm ono fish and small, crunchy shrimp. Other compliments were fresh guac, beans of your choice (I got refried) and Mexican rice that pleasantly surprised me as I'm usually not a fan. It was a good portion size that even I couldn't finish. SERVICE: No reservations are taken. Whether you enter from the front or side door, someone will assist you; just be patient and stand there. Our server was on top of everything and checked on us often.

Come during Happy Hour (4-5pm) and get the nachos!! It's a huge portion and only $8. The drinks were great, and of course pog for the kids.

Possibly the best Mexican restaurant we have eaten at on Maui. Service was good and fast. Iced tea with Lilikoi and Mango had good flavor. We had the Carnitas Bowl and the Beef Quesadillas. Quesadillas were huge 3 of them filled with meat and vegetables. Carnitas bowl had a lot of flavor and came with black beans or refried beans. Huge parking lot which is good with parking so difficult in Makawao.

Great experience! Randomly just stopped here after a trip to Haleakala. The waitress was super sweet and accommodating to our group. Food was amazing! Everyone liked their meal a lot. Father in law said that was the best burrito he’s ever had and that’s saying a lot, with him being in his 70s.

We went the night of the tsunami, so it was very crowded and a pretty long wait. The hostess was exceptional! We were grateful to find a place to eat since we were evacuated. We ordered Fajitas for 2 and the portion didn't seem like it was for 2. As an example, we got only 6 shrimp. We definitely wished we had ordered something else. The food wasn't bad- pretty average for fajitas. We had steak and shrimp and the steak pieces were left very large. The flavor was also average - not great, not bad. The chips are half flour and half corn. The flour chips tasted much fresher. We didn't eat most of the corn ones because they tasted like old store bought chips. They charge for chips and salsa here, so not the standard Mexican restaurant and disappointing when the chips aren't very good.

Whoa, theres definitely a very talented Chef in the kitchen, the veggie quesadilla and the flavors of the sauce the veggies are cooked in at a Solid 10 !!! Pic attached for proof The home made tortilla chips, guac, and the Chicken Enchilada & Beef Taco combo also Outstanding!!

Service Kiana was lovely, an absolute delight. She was friendly and radiated joy. You can tell she really enjoys her work- serving up love! Food We started with the tres amigos which included salsa, guacamole, and queso dip with chips (warning-it’s easy to fill up on the chips and salsa). I ordered a non- alcoholic Michelada drink- delicious. For our main dishes I ordered the shredded beef burrito, which was outstanding and my partner had the half order of baby back ribs which he enjoyed as was very happy he only ordered the 1/2 size. Great ambiance and good vibes. We will definitely be back! Mahalo Nui Kiana!

Nestled in the charming town of Makawao, HI, Pukalani Club House Restaurant & Bakery is a delightful dining destination that offers an inviting atmosphere for guests. This place will surprise you if you are looking for fancy clubhouse. Not it. This is outdoor eating on the porch of a trailer but the best food. The fish and chips are crispy and yummy. The burgers are the best I've ever get had. Skip the Mac salad not great. Stop by for food even if you aren't golfing.

Great sushi restaurant with hibachi grill performances! This is a good place for some healthy food in the Dells. Our hibachi chef was great, and the restaurant is so cute with beautiful decor and a large interior. Affordable prices and tasty food. They were able to accommodate my gluten sensitivity with gluten-free soy sauce and other substitutions. Thank you!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Waited almost 10 minutes before we were greeted. Busy outdoor patio seating with views of the golf course. I got the Cajun Crispy Chicken Sandwich and my brother got the Hangover Burger Melt. My brother said the burger was really good, and it was HUGE. My chicken sandwich on the other hand, was horrible. The chicken was seasoned well, but tasted like the cook either forgot about it in the fryer or it was refried from an earlier time. It was tough and dry, and had two weird thigh cuts on the bun, so it was impossible to even keep together. I had two bites and decided to just eat my fries. The server was really nice and asked if everything was okay, as she could tell I wasn’t enjoying my food. I should have sent it back, but honestly, if you send out food that bad, I don’t have a lot of trust that it would get much better. When we finished, the server cleared our plates, and when she brought the check, she was sure to point out a discount for the sandwich I didn’t eat. $4 discount on a $16 sandwich. We paid and left… won’t be back.

Hawaiian restaurant
Nestled on the picturesque slopes of Haleakala in Maui's Upcountry region, Hali'imaile General Store is a renowned culinary destination offering a modern twist on Hawaiian regional cuisine. Originally a plantation store dating back to 1925, it was transformed into a restaurant in 1988 by Chef Bev Gannon and has since gained international acclaim. The restaurant prides itself on its farm-to-table dining experience, featuring locally sourced ingredients in an idyllic Upcountry setting.
This place was really good. The burger was absolutely delicious and the fries were crispy. The iced tea was really good as well. Amazing service too! I've come here a number of times over the years with family. It was awesome to visit again.

Loved this place. Great stop if you're waiting for a tour of the Maui Gold Plantation (and make sure to ask for a coupon there and you'll get a discount). Loved the ahi with udon noodles, and the pineapple upside down cake was delicious, but the pineapple burger (with perfectly cooked fries) was incredible.

I recently visited Hali’i Maile General Store, where we ordered the loco moco and the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. For dessert, we chose the lilikoi crème brûlée, and I must say, the food was delicious! The loco moco's gravy was flavorful, and the chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked not over fried. The lilikoi crème brûlée was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Our server, Mai, was fabulous, attentive and very welcoming. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out Hali’i Maile General Store.

Quite possibly the best meal we’ve had on Maui! The sashimi salad is a must and we really enjoyed the pork wontons. For mains, my husband had the fried chicken sandwich and I had the local fish curry (best I’ve had). We both ordered Baja margaritas — the parsley was such a surprisingly delicious touch!!! We’ve tried a lot of restaurants on Maui, and this one is a gem! The staff were incredibly nice; the setting and vibes were perfect; and the food very high quality. We will certainly come back any time we are on the island. Note: We made a reservation, but I don’t think it’s required - they were busy though (for obvious reasons!) so if you want to ensure you get a table, would recommend reserving. Also, they close 2:30-4:30 between lunch and dinner (Google doesn’t list that).

I can't recommend this place enough. We had a little hiccups but the assistant manager called us to ask us to return. We usually dont but she was extremely sweet on the phone some took the chance. We are extremely glad we did. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi and my husband ordered the Ribeye. But food we have ever eaten. My husband is very picky and for him to recommend is beyond the 5 stars we can give. He never eats green beans and he loved those also. (I need your secret on those so I can make them now at home. Lol.) It was my birthday so we ordered pineapple upside down cake and oh my taste buds.... AMAZING!! I wish we could take this place back with us. The assistant manager was absolutely amazing. She is the sweetest and cares for her customers. I highly recommend this place beyond anything else on the island.

We had the most amazing dinner here! The team went above and beyond for us — they stayed open late and treated us with such kindness and warmth. A huge thank you to the chefs for the incredible meal, to Matt our server for his attentive and friendly service, and to Michelle the hostess for welcoming us so graciously. You all made our trip even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back and celebrate an anniversary here one day!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had one of the best meals of our entire trip to Hawaiʻi at Haliʻimaile General Store. The restaurant itself is charming, tucked right next to a pineapple plantation and gin distillery, with a cozy, welcoming vibe that immediately sets the tone. We started with a seasonal cocktail and shared the Chinese chicken salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, my spouse ordered the mahi mahi fish and chips and I had the coconut fish curry, which might have been the single best dish I ate in Hawaiʻi. Rich, layered, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was a standout. Our server, Jennifer, gave us excellent service from start to finish, striking the perfect balance of friendly and professional. The whole experience felt thoughtful and elevated without being pretentious. This was such an unexpected highlight of our time in Maui. If you’re visiting the island, make the drive; you’ll be glad you did. Highly recommend!

If you want great fresh local island food with a pan Pacific twist you must stop by for dinner one night. What used to be a drive out to the middle of the pineapple fields halfway up to Makawao has now turned into a hip and fun location with still some old Maui upcountry charm. Our server, Hezekiah was a local charm. Professional, funny and just excellent. His recommendations were spot on and fantastic, like the Lillikoi Mai Tai. So different and refreshing . The coconut seafood curry was flavorful with a combination of fresh local ahi and shrimp with Kula veggies galore in a beautiful curry. Since it was my wife’s birthday Hezekiah also recommended the incredible and decadent pineapple upside down cake, hot out of the oven with Roselani ice cream. It really topped off the evening. Great service and fantastic food in a historic building in a pineapple field.it made for a special dinner. The real deal. Plan on having dinner there soon. Like now!

The Upcountry Farmers Market is a beloved Maui tradition that has been running for over 40 years, making it the longest-standing farmers market on the island. Held at the Kulamalu Town Center every Saturday morning, this market offers a wide array of fresh produce, local crafts, and delicious prepared foods. Visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views unique to Upcountry Maui while browsing through the diverse offerings.
A great little market. Not sure the percentage that takes Venmo etc as we had cash. Portapotties were fine, ev vehicle charging limited to chadmo for a local collective *only*. No charging for us! Bring your own bag. All the Ripe Today mangoes were gone when we got here near closing. Some hot foods, honey, live plants, LOTS of local produce.

Makawao Park Eddie Tam Center is a versatile athletic complex with facilities for baseball, tennis, soccer, and basketball. The park also offers pavilions for picnics and various amenities such as public restrooms. Visitors can enjoy the serene environment by taking leisurely walks or engaging in outdoor activities like playing frisbee or catch. The lush greenery provides a calming atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind and de-stress.
Very pretty perfect to spend with the family. Play soccer or baseball, i went with my one year old baby and he love it so big this place with beautifull grass to run, roll over or take a nap

Eddie Tam (1899 - 1966) was the chairman of the board of supervisors for the County of Maui when Hawaii was a territory. The county-run complex built in the 1960's is located in Makawao on Makani Road, and features a 2-level building that houses a basketball gym, community event hall, county offices, and a police substation. The attached park sports picnic pavilions, 2 tennis courts, and baseball fields. EVENT HALL: Situated below the gym, max room capacity is 380. Amenities include fold & roll tables and lightweight aluminum folding chairs, a small wooden stage, and good sized kitchen. There is no climate control; not a huge deal as Makawao is a fairly cool town but Maui does have its humid days. Huge glass windows let in lots of natural light. The walls are discolored and marked with old tape residue, staples, and other decoration blemishes from years past. Restrooms are conveniently located on the same level, and were clean. Parking can be a problem if the hall and gym are both in use as they share the same 39-stall lot. More parking is available near the ball fields but can be quite a walk for some. OVERALL: Bygone facility that gets the job done.

Satori is a popular food truck located in the heart of Makawao Town on Maui, offering an amazing farm-to-table sushi experience. The fusion menu features locally sourced fish and fresh flavors, with dairy-free options available. The atmosphere is charming, with open-air picnic tables and live guitar music creating a pleasant dining experience. Despite being busy, the food truck offers generous portions of delicious dishes such as sushi bowls and poke bowls.
The house bowl has three fish, and a ton of locally sourced greens with just enough rice, perfectly seasoned without dousing it with overly sweet sushi vinegar…. In short, heaven in a bowl

Overly expensive and not the greatest quality. I got their special dragon roll. It was fishy; the ahi was not fresh at all. 25$ for nothing (see photos attached). Also 15$ for a tiny ramen??? The flavor was not the greatest either. Sushi bowl was delicious, (fresh fish!) definitely worth the price. But don’t even get me started on the salad side… 5$ for a piece of lettuce??? We spent overall 90$ for 50% rice, 40% plants, and 10% fish (split among 3 people). Very beautiful food and I loved the inclusion of herbs/plants but the prices are ridiculous for the portion size. This is barely enough to feed a toddler. Also I feel bad for the chef because he is also taking orders AND cooking. I can only imagine how stressful that gets during peak hours.

We'd been eating our way through Maui all week and we came here on a whim because the place we were originally going to have lunch wasn't taking walk-ins. For me (I can't speak for the rest of my family), this was the best meal I had during our entire trip. We all had different things and opted to share. The fish was great. You can't go wrong with any of the handrolls or poke bowls if you're into seafood; I recommend the fresh Marlin. However, the thing that stood out for me was, oddly, the Ramen bowl. My son, is a finicky eater. He's in that "no veggies" phase so when the soup came, we had to walk back up and request a kids' noodles and broth; which left the original Ramen bowl for the rest of the family to share! I loved it and ended up eating most of it! Next time we're on Maui, I'll be ordering the Ramen along with my handrolls!

Makai Glass Maui is a stunning gallery filled with incredible blown glass pieces and other forms of art. The showroom features professional quality, artistic vision, and a variety of unique pieces that resemble walking around in a Chihuly museum. Visitors can expect to find impressive, high-quality, and creative artwork at the pop-up location as well.
The gallery has some amazing pieces and we were able to watch some glassblowing in action. We purchased a glass wave and had it shipped to us in Ohio and it arrived in perfect condition. Thanks Anton so much for your help! Highly recommend!

If you enjoy art and glasswork, visit this place. You can not only admire the pieces on display, but also find something that fits your interior. On top of that, you can watch as a work of art is created right before your eyes.

Don’t purchase the jewelry. I specifically asked about the gold beads if they were 14k and was told yes. Given the price point of $700 they should be. However they are not. Cheap junk. Those black beads were gold. Also this is a new review because it seems my previous review has been removed. Why? Yes the owner said he would fix it. If I went back. On my dime. I’m sure I would never see it again.

Thank you Randy Schaffer, Justin Brown and the Makai Glass Maui team for the stunning piece of artwork you created. It truly is a magnificent piece, and I absolutely love it! Your talent and creativity have brought so much joy and beauty into my life. I am continually amazed by the level of skill and artistry your team brings to each creation. This particular piece has added a unique and elegant touch to my space and I find myself admiring it every single day. It is truly a treasure and I will cherish it always.

My family have been visiting Randy and team for years now. We have quite a collection of their beautiful glass pieces. Visitors to my home are always amazed with our collection. We did it again this visit and purchased a beautiful Maui fish to hang on our wall back home. You must visit the studio and then go across the street to the General Store! You won’t be disappointed and perhaps you will find a treasure as well!

Wow!!! Art is an understatement!!! A nice walk around this place. Will do you some good? You will be "blown" away by the artistic creations this place holds!!!! You can even pay to do your own the plants flowing with help. A lesson. It's not just the paintings on the wall.In glass, this whole place has a great vibe.Love the artwork and being able to walk around and take a look at all of it. The colors in integration are multiple things. In one!! Wow!!! I highly recommend you take a moment to pop over here and walk through!

Ohana Island Grindz, located in the charming town of Makawao, Maui, offers a delightful local dining experience with its hearty plate lunches and friendly atmosphere. The eatery is open 7 days a week and is known for its authentic local cuisine, with the Roasted Pork Plate being a standout dish. Visitors praise the delicious food at great prices and commend the staff for their kindness and care. The restaurant's burgers are highly recommended, as they grind their own meat for quality.
What a great little restaurant with several options for food and drinks. The locally grown food was awesome and so were the people that cooked it. The staff are so friendly and happy.

I used to love the shoyu chicken at a popular restaurant in Lahaina and was so disappointed that the chicken there is now nowhere near as good. Then we found this place and I was so happy to find delicious shoyu chicken, and in a mini size that didn't overwhelm me. Also so affordable. The staff were so friendly and kind. We will be back for sure.
Janice L — Google review
Of you're looking for an authentic local food experience, this place is a good example. It's a small restaurant with an all female crew, at least it was on the day we went, and it was comfortable and clean. The ladies were singing along to the radio as they worked and the food we were served was exactly what we expected. We both chose mocos, me the Briskit and my husband the regular hamburger patties. While the eggs could have been cooked less, more easy instead of hard, the gravy was good and the meat tasty. And I loved the Potato Mac salad!
Michelle N — Google review
My lower nature wants to keep this place a secret so I can have it all to myself, but that wouldn’t be fair. Lol. Great food for great prices with friendly service. Cheehoo 🤙🏾

Delicious, authentic food at a great price point with kind staff! 10/10 experience!
Laura W — Google review
Absolutely the best traditional Hawaiian plate lunch! The Shoyu chicken was SO flavorful and tender, fell right off the bone. The potato-Mac salad was delicious too. My husband for the roasted pork and was so pleased also! Great prices, excellent customer service, and easy access location in the Upcountry. We’ll definitely be back!
Jennifer B — Google review
The food was great and probably the most reasonably priced we’ve encountered on the island! The portions of the mocos are pretty large and came quickly. Adding pics of the Ohana Saimin (noodle bowl) and Beef Brisket Moco as well as one of the many huge blueberries that came in the yogurt and Açaí bowls.
Craig C — Google review
Came into this diner more by accident than intent. And I’m glad I did! I’ve been wanting a loco moco since I got to Maui, but this place has loco moco, as well as two other mocos: roast pork and beef brisket. I got the roast pork at the recommendation of the waitress. The pork was tender and melt in the mouth. And the gravy was nicely paired to it. My BF would say it needed more salt, but for me and with the gravy, it was just right. The Mac salad, yummy! The staff are friendly and patient (especially since I came in randomly, looking very lost regarding if I sit myself or are seated) A couple tips: - no specialty coffee, just drip and it’s hot! So just watch your tongue. But the coffee is well brewed with a lot of flavor and is not super bitter. I drank it black. - food also comes out super hot (not the salad), so again, watch your tongue! - the mocos can be orders as minis which is half a regular order. Perfect size if you’re looking for something smaller. Hope I get a chance to come back and try something else! Enjoy!

Italian restaurant
Nestled in Kula, Restaurant Marlow is a culinary treasure offering a diverse menu influenced by local ingredients and global flavors. Chef Jeff Scheer and his wife, Kaili, have crafted a dining experience that emphasizes fresh, locally grown produce to create dishes bursting with flavor. From signature pizzas to mouthwatering cioppino and vegetarian options like roasted root veg, there's something for every palate.
Marlow is a community gathering spot, you’ll see to go orders being put over the counter, beautiful pizzas (white and red sauced) coming out of the kitchen in ones and twos on trays for the tables. I haven’t found anything I don’t like there. Suggest trying their margarita pizza so you can appreciate how well they prepare their sauces. The Funghi pizza is a hit and tonight we had a pepperoni that was incredible. The gnocchi are, I think, the best I’ve had anywhere, fantastic texture and sauce was so delicious. Best thing I can teach you about this spot? Finish the pizzas at the restaurant and take your left over pasta to go! This one’s stellar guys. Go!

Marlow is 🔥. Love the food, the funghi pizza, meatballs, OLIVE OIL GELATO. Their coffee and beans are super good too, I buy their Origin beans for at home. This is definitely the best restaurant upcountry.

We visited on a Saturday late morning, place was half full but they wanted us to wait until they could service appropriately. Understaffed perhaps? That was fine, we took a stroll, came back and they seized us earlier than we expected. It was our first visit and we were looking forward to a pizza, had the fungi/ mushroom. Lots of garlic on that pie. We enjoyed it.

Marlow is my absolute favorite restaurant in the universe and has been for a long time. And today’s visit was nothing shy of remarkable. The moment I walked in I was greeted with the sweetest smiles. I sat at the bar to treat myself to my favorite meatballs. I ordered the Negroni sbagliato and it was perfect. Then I ordered a mixed green salad and it was insane delicious. Finally my bucatini with meatballs came and I don’t think I looked up from my plate for 15 solid minutes. It was pure heaven. I love this place and these people. Thank you chef! ❤️

Very good service ( came at 8:00 PMish on Juneteenth. ) less crowd. Food was amazing and so was our server. We wanted vegetarian meals and they helped guide through their menu. We ordered a white pasta and their on-house margarita pizza. It was all delicious. Perfect sized portion for two (any be small for peeps who like to eat well; we like not so heavy dinner). Price is on the expensive side though

Discovered Marlow last year when visiting the island. Returned this year because of the great experience we had. The pizza is spectacular. Tried both a white and red pizza. Both excellent and rhis is coming from a native New Yorker who is a bit of a pizza snob. The chopped salad was also a great accompaniment to the pizza. Make the effort to get here. You will not be disappointed

I can never find a good gluten free pizza and I was so impressed with there’s! Tasted just as good as the real deal. Also, very reasonably priced. Will definitely continue to eat here.

I've had decent pizza here, BUT today when I picked up my pizza 2 minutes before it was time to be picked up, it was barely warm, the crust was thick and like cardboard. When I described my experience to the manager by email and then phone, his response was that he was sorry but they had been very busy and this problem didn't happen very often. And that was it!! Excuse me, but that doesn't solve anything for me. Poor customer service for sure. I won't go back.

Freshies Maui is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Makawao, offering a peaceful outdoor courtyard for diners to enjoy their meals. The restaurant takes pride in using local and organic ingredients to create a diverse menu that caters to all types of eaters, including vegans. Whether it's a tofu breakfast scramble or biscuits and gravy, there's something for everyone.
For a vegetarian family of four, this place was absolutely amazing. The service was super. Food came out fairly quickly actually! We were all satisfied with our dishes. We ordered the Tofu Tacos, Makawao Melt, BBQ Tofu Plate, and the Red Curry Bowl. My personal favorite were the tacos and the bbq tofu plate. The melt was pretty delicious as well.

What a perfect stop on our way back from the Haleakala Summit. This restaurant has amazing service, friendly and attentive! Our coffee was never empty, and our meal came out hot. The was tasty but, the atmosphere of this restaurant is absolutely the best.

Enjoyed brunch and coffee here at a quiet Maui town, Makawao. Wait staff, mainly cashier there was friendly even my party took bit of long time to decide and order food. All menu items are on a wall, difficult to explore and decide at first. Like all other Hawaiian restaurants, the price tag does not always justify the quality and content of foods. But here at Freahies, most of omelets and drinks my family ordered were decent and nicely presented. Outside courtyard area next to big trees was perfect for enjoying Hawaiian breeze.
Cabin B — Google review
The food was great and came out quickly.. And that’s what we came for.. so all worth it! Service.. meh.. wouldn’t say anyone was hospitable.. The only thing we heard was.. are you ready to order? (Restaurant Tip) I would always start with a welcome in at least.. It’s just too easy to not greet people on vacation. They do ask for a tip when you pay, but you will not get any service beyond the counter.. No coffee or tea refills. Atmosphere.. The greeting set the tone, tables were dirty, ppl were just standing around waiting to order while others held tables..

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Makawao Forest Reserve. Not quite as popular as Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Nestled in the lush Makawao Forest Reserve on the slopes of Haleakala, Kahakapao Loop Trail offers an immersive experience in a dense woodland. This multi-use trail, starting at 2800ft elevation, is popular among hikers, bikers, dog walkers and equestrians. The trail winds through a fertile forest with eucalyptus and Cook pines lining the path.
Loved this hike. Up and down quite a lot however you can do as much or little as you wish. We did about 3.5 k. That took an hour with lots of stops for photos (our first time there and it's so beautiful in that eucalyptus forest). Good sized parking lot, porta potties, and a very twisty road to get in and out, one lane most of the way. Highly recommend. Temp was 85 however in the forest it felt cool. Was lovely.

Green overload! One of the hidden treasures of Maui and off the beaten track. Please remember that it is a rainforest and you need to be dressed adequately. Make sure that you wear hiking boots with good traction, as well as lightweight windbreaker for rain and wind. A hiking stick could be useful as well. The full circle will take at least 3h. Make sure you have water with you. Download maps.me app for offline trail maps - Google maps don’t show all the trails available.

Art gallery
Nestled in the charming town of Makawao, Julie Galeeva Fine Art is a delightful gallery that showcases the incredible talent of its namesake artist. During my recent Hawaiian adventure, I stumbled upon this gem and was immediately captivated by the stunning artwork on display. Although my visit was brief, I couldn't resist picking up a collection of beautiful postcards to share with loved ones back home.
Fantastic little art gallery in a charming little town! We stopped by here our first full day on the island and were drawn to a painting of a honu (turtle) in a koa wood frame. The piece was gorgeous and we ended up returning to purchase it! Julie (the artist) runs the shop and she was so friendly and accommodating to us! We could have stayed in her little shop all day! We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Maui!
Beth W — Google review
What a wonderful artist and gallery! I have nothing but praise. I stopped by the gallery when adventuring around Makawao on a trip to Hawaii, but couldn't stay very long, so I just quickly picked up a very beautiful collection of postcards to send to friends and family. When I got home, I checked out Julie's website and found so many other beautiful paintings. While I couldn't afford a true giclee, I reached out to Julie and she was so kind and lovely and helped me find different options that fell within my budget. I eventually ordered a canvas print, and was utterly thrilled with it when it arrived. The quality is truly stellar; it is the most beautiful piece of artwork I own and I will treasure it for a long time. Julie's artwork is so intricate and lovely, but most importantly of all, it really captures the essence of Hawaii's beauty. Every time I look at it, I'm right back on the Maui shores. It is stunning. Thank you again, Julie!

Bright and vibrant art and wearables from local artist Sherri. She can be regularly found in the store with her mother and faithful dog, Zed. There is definitely a fun and colorful style to Sherri's art, applied to shirts, silk scarves, ornaments, cards, and enameled canvases. Sherri will guide you around the store and help you decide on the perfect gift for yourself or a friend. A MUST see!

We were lucky enough to meet Sherri in her shop in Macawao yesterday. We have loved her at for some time, but getting to meet her was special. She is delightful, friendly and fun. Her art is spectacular, and she has a great selection here. It appears that she is in the shop on Baldwin on Monday and Tuesday, and we absolutely recommend that you go in to meet her. And but some of her wonderful things also - of course!

We stopped in this art gallery and gift shop during our recent trip to Maui. It's located in darling Makawao, and is definitely worth a stop. We met the artist, Sherri, and her daughter and had a pleasant conversation. We were looking for souvenirs to bring home to family, and ended up coming back to this place more than once. You see many similar style watercolor shirts throughout the gift shops in Maui, but Sherri's are unique and higher end, without the mass produced look in other gift shops. We even ended up getting a large piece of art to have shipped back to the mainland! Her art is relatively affordable, and we were so happy with how it was shipped. It arrived about 14 days after we paid for it, had an official certificate signed by Sherri, and was packaged in a way that made me feel confident it wasn't at risk of being damaged in transit at any time during its journey. Sherri and her daughter even worked with us to customize the size to fit in our space, at no extra charge. I highly recommend stopping in this gift shop, and you can feel confident purchasing even large art pieces. Now we have a wonderful reminder of our trip to Maui that we will enjoy falling asleep and waking up to for years to come!

In the middle of Maui Island, in the little town of Makawao, Sherri had been recommended to me by my sister--a fellow artist. Sherri wasn't there the day I visited, but the shop is charming and Sherri's talent and merchandise are displayed well. If you're driving around the island while you're here, make a point of stopping by Sherri's studio and shop.

I have known Sherri since intermediate school. God has blessed her with a gift that brings blessings to so many people. She is a kind and generous person. Sherri is my favorite artist. I love her subject matter and her colors. The first time I walked into her gallery, her art stopped me in my tracks and I just had to stand there and soak it all up. Jordanne Gallery, located in Makawao, Maui, is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. The gallery showcases the stunning works of Jordanne Weinstein, an accomplished and passionate artist. Visitors have not only been captivated by her beautiful paintings but have also enjoyed getting to know the artist herself. Customers have expressed their excitement over purchasing her prints and eagerly anticipate adding more of her artwork to their collection.
I have 2 paintings from Jordanne. Does this make me a collector???? I stopped by Jordanne's gallery while I was on Maui because I was made aware of her donations to Maui families after the fire. I was able to chat with her for a long time (thanks for your patience with me!) and really fall in love with her work. We chatted, I got to learn about her work and a bit about the artist herself. Before I showed up, I surfed her website and found a piece of work that I thought was wonderful, Secret Beach, one of my favourite beaches on Maui. It was on display at the studio!!!! It's now on display in my bedroom. I also went in hoping for a commission to benefit the Maui families. This one is now on display in my dining room; a view of Lanai from Lahaina. I am not exaggerating when I say I look at both every day. I can't be in Maui, but Jordanne's paintings bring me there in spirit every day.

Jordanne is not only an amazing artist, but an amazing person to work with. I wanted something special for my wife for our 25th wedding anniversary… we honeymooned at the Lahaina Shores Resort in Lahaina, spending so many vacations there with our children as they grew and eventually we bought our own unit during the pandemic. Then came the Lahaina fire on August 8th 2023, and while our building survived it is still not open for occupation, as it’s in the fire zone. I wanted to capture the building, the beach, our history there and also our love of the place, and that’s exactly what Jordanne accomplished for me… most of all, my wife adores it. During the process her professionalism, her advice, her advice, her communication and mostly her patience, were first class. Jordanne loves what she does, it’s so much more than a job to her, she puts her everything into every piece and I would recommend her to anyone who appreciates great art and the beautiful island of Maui. Thank You Jordanne… we will be back for more soon ❤️

We love this gallery and it’s Maui focused art. We’ve bought originals commemorating Lahaina and last month over the Thanksgiving holiday purchased a small original from Jordanne’s young daughter. Always a stop when we visit Makawao!

I have been in this gallery a few times. I paint and had been in a super huge funk. I had not picked up my brushes in several years. I also have never used oils, which Jordanne specializes in. As I walked into this working artists gallery and studio, I just felt the energy and aloha spirit and literally couldn’t stop thinking about it for an entire year. My family made it back to Maui and I contacted Jordanne about a possible art class. She said yes, and we made the arrangements. It is a day I will always remember. She was gracious with her teachings, and patient. And as I painted she greeted customers and kindly introduced me as her student. While my goal was to just pick up my brushes again, I gained so much more. While I’m still not using oils, I do paint at least weekly. And when I’m in a funk, I just scroll through her amazing work online and remember the energy she brings to her canvas. This space is definitely worth a visit. Her art is amazing. The colors are incredible. And if you are lucky, she will be able to give you a taste of the Maui Aloha. Thanks Jordanne, you are such an inspiration.

We love visiting Jordanne’s gallery every time we are on Maui. It’s such a treat if she’s actively painting, which she often is. She’s so talented and giving! My favorite purchase is her book honoring Lahaina with so many beautiful paintings, which also feel like our memories of a beautiful place!

I am a huge fan of Jordanne Gallery. My wife and I and friends visited Makawao our last time in Maui and made two great discoveries. The town was one (we had never been there and go to Maui every year), and best of all the Jordanne Gallery. My wife and I collect art and this place was a playground for us. Her compositions are beautiful and her use of color and the boldness of her brush strokes had me hooked from the minute I walked in. We did purchase a piece that hangs proudly on our wall at home. I don't think that there is a day that goes by that I don't look at it without it reminding me of the beauty of the islands. I should also mention that her shipping was impeccable and the piece arrived at our home beautifully packaged. I will definitely return.

Jordanne's work and gallery are our favorites on Maui. Jordanne is usually there painting and framing. It is always a treat to meet and connect with the artist. Her colors and textures of Maui themes are truly awe-inspiring! We have commissioned and purchased several pieces and bought several Lahaina Spirit books for gifts. We love that she gave directly to fire victims. If you haven't been to this gallery in Makawao, add it to your list! Can't wait to visit again!

Great place to sit and watch master glass craftsman ply their trade. I could literally sit there for hours. They are more than willing to answer all your questions about the process. If you want a commissioned piece they will help with that as well and they aren't afraid to let you know if what you want will look good in the end. They package and ship anywhere you want safely and securely.

The Maui Cookie Lady is a renowned boutique bakery located in Makawao Town, offering an array of outrageously delicious cookies. The Paniolo Pecan cookie, featuring Maui-made brown sugar whiskey, oats, butter toffee, chocolate and pecans, is a must-try. Visitors can now enjoy these treats at the fairytale-themed retail shop on Baldwin Ave. The flagship store exudes whimsical charm and offers one-of-a-kind local delights.
Holy cookie Heaven!! I can’t say enough about these amazing cookies! I came here specifically to get these cookies for wedding favors for our recent wedding on the island. The store is adorable and pulls you in with the delicious smells and keeps you with the incredible quaintness. I also love that they also carry other local shop’s products. Local supporting Local! If you are looking for amazing and delicious cookies then make your way to The Maui Cookie Lady, you won’t regret it!

Everyone has their own favorite cookie types and I happen to love these! They may not be fresh out of the oven but their flavors and textures work for me! I like that they remind me of cookie dough ice cream . . . I always think that I should chop these cookies up and use them as add-ins or toppings for ice cream but I love just eating them with a cold glass of milk way too much!!! If you're lucky enough to visit this enchanting shop, take the time to look around at all the little treasures! The woman working that day was so sweet and friendly! And she was so kind as to give me some adorable gift bags and cute note paper as she knew I would be gifting most of the cookies to friends on the mainland - Lucky Duckies!!! Can't wait for my next trip to Maui so I can get my Maui Cookie Lady fix again! 😋 Butter Rum Triple Chocolate is still my #1 fave!!!

Cute little cookie store in makawao , apparently these cookies are super famous and I had no idea. The store is super small with only 6 people inside at a time. The shop owner is super sweet and helpful. There are plenty of sweet treats to pick from including cookies, ice cream bars, the super yummy north shore peanut butter that I miss and so much more. If you are going to Maui or just want to have them shipped to you check them out in person or online. Support local businesses there.

Very lovingly designed shop. In addition to the main attraction (cookies), there are small fairy worlds and corresponding offers (Harry Potter gimmicks...). The cookies (around 7$) are always freshly prepared for take away and there are good variations and great quality. They all have that "cookie dough taste" left, as if they weren't baked through (which they are). If you liked that as a child, I prefer other...

On our last trip to Maui we decided to visit Makawao and I saw online to stop at the Maui Cookie Lady shop, but didn't really know much about them. The shop was small but so cute in how it was decorated, the person working was wonderful to talk with. We purchased a couple cookies to take home and wow are these cookies amazing. The worker told us to microwave them to get that fresh out of the over feel. We bought a variety and I feel like each cookie is better than the last, which is hard to do since each cookie was the best cookie I've ever had. My kids liked the birthday cake one, but I can't decide if white chocolate macadamia or peanut butter is my favorite. I'm sure when I have the Kona coffee one that's going to top the list. My husband and I both agree every trip to Maui will now include a stop at the Maui Cookie Lady.

Went for the cookies stayed for the atmosphere! Wow, wow, wow! This was an unbelievable experience. I left like I was transported back to being a kid. The second we walked in the smells were heavenly. I found The Maui Cookie Lady via Instagram and wanted to support a local baker. There were so many tiny villages to look at in the shop. The staff member was so kind and provided information on each of the cookies. We got the white chocolate macadamia nut, s’mores and the Netflix Late Nighter. These are not small cookies, they are some thick ones, and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend supporting this bakery.

Super cute, hobbit-hole like little store, jammed packed full of edible goodies and whimsical feaures and an aroma that makes you want to crawl into one of the tiny houses on display and live there forever! Food was good, fresh and served as we ordered. The sweet onion burger with fries and Paniolo burger with fries. Server was friendly and smiling. Came in for a late lunch and asked for the soup of the day, the mahi-mahi sandwich, and a glass of wine. Service was below average, my wine finally came after I asked two more times. The soup was delicious but, the mahi-mahi was unimpressive. Something tells me they make a mean drink here. I will give them a second chance in a week or two.

Stopwatch Sportsbar is a solid restaurant, plain and simple. What I mean by that is that it isn't fancy, but when you go there that isn't you are looking for. The prices are reasonable, the food has heft and great taste, and the visiting chickens give it that distinct Maui flare. I had the Island Ahi sandwich and could barely get my mouth around it. I paired it with a tasty beer and it just hit the spot. There was only one server working, and he was also playing bartender and busboy. He was still courteous and tried to accommodate my group and I as best he could. I have no complaints whatsoever.

The food was very good. The fish and chips were some of the best I’ve had. They weren’t that oily like some other places I’ve had fish and chips from. The mango mai tai was nice as well. Our waitress was speedy given it was quite busy when we were there too

Makawao is very cool and this bar was a great find. The back lanai is covered, has lots of plants, and looks out over a field with cows and goats. Just a nice place to sit and have a beer. Escape the typical beach scene in Maui and find tranquility at the Sacred Garden of Maliko. This serene sanctuary offers a variety of attractions, including a nursery, peace sanctuary, retreat center, botanical garden, and temple. Visitors can explore walking labyrinths, diverse plant species, fairy and meditation gardens, as well as enjoy picnic areas. Adjacent to other local attractions like Makawao Forest Reserve and Makawao Union Church, this peaceful haven provides a meditative escape from urban life.
This place was fantastic! Initially when we arrived the staff were very inviting and gave us a short tour to show us where to go. The people who were putting the plants in their new homes were really talented. Some were funny/silly, and others were beautiful. I had never done the stone labyrinth before so that was a cool experience. If you're not afraid of the outdoors I'd suggest going to the big one outside of the covered area. This is a place to decompress. Have a coffee and enjoy the nature. It's very local which is a nice touch after being around the resorts. Thank you for all of your hardworking!

The Sacred Garden is a beautiful, calming place. We stopped on our way to Haleakala summit. Our young adult kids really enjoyed it as well. Friendly, inviting staff greeted us upon arrival. Parking is off the road in a small lot. Beautiful flowers and fish are everywhere. Plants are hanging from up high and there are so many different neat displays reusing old items like typewriters and giant planters and a giant Buddha statue to sit in front of for contemplation. There is also a talkative African Grey bird. Several chairs and couches are available to sit and relax, shelves of books to look at and places to meditate. Wind chimes were creating magical sounds. They have some journals and markers and encourage people to bring art supplies to draw or paint. It's nice to be in nature. There are a couple labyrinths where you are invited to peacefully walk and meditate. Several singing bowls and gong are there to use as well. Also nice to have an alternative to going to the beach. Does not cost money but donations are welcome. Plants and fish are for purchase as well. They also have events and classes and also field trips for school age kids.

Nestled in upcountry Maui, the Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center is a storied nonprofit art center housed in a historic 1917 mansion. It offers tours, galleries, and classes in various mediums. The property was once a sugar plantation and boasts a rich history dating back to Maui's colonial past. Visitors can explore the lush grounds and take self-guided tours of the estate while admiring the works of over 75 local artists showcased in the gallery shop.
My wife + I used the Hui for an anniversary party in January. From inquiry to execution, Chelsea + her staff were amazing. We had about 60 guests but the space could hold many more. The grounds are extremely well kept even after a storm the night before. The Hui is a beautiful space for weddings + it feels very private. Highly recommend holding any events here.
Matias E — Google review
Extremely disappointing. The receptionist couldn’t be bothered to look up from her phone call—just lazily pointed toward rooms filled with underwhelming, poorly curated art. When we asked about exploring the grounds, she dismissively said, “They’re just gardens,” as if we were wasting her time. No map, no guidance, and certainly no hospitality. The whole place felt like it was coasting on reputation alone. Definitely not worth a stop.

When it comes to surfing, "Soul Surfing Maui" is the ultimate destination for enthusiasts of all levels. The island boasts a variety of surf spots that cater to everyone, from beginners seeking gentle waves in Kaanapali and Kihei to seasoned surfers looking for thrills at Ho'okipa and La Perouse. For those craving an adrenaline rush, Peahi—famously known as "Jaws"—offers some of the most formidable waves on the planet.
Brian is a great instructor/coach! Had our group of 4 teens (2 beginners) up on their first wave after detailed on-land training. We always call Brian when we come to the island. No matter the experience level, he always makes sure it’s a great session for all!
C. Y — Google review
I highly recommend Soul Surfing Maui and Brian! Soul Surfing Maui is 5⭐️ from every aspect! We planned a semi-private lesson with Brian for our two boys ages 16 and 18. Brian took the time to get to know our boys during the lesson and gave them the one on one attention needed to give them the best experience and outcome when learning to surf. He did so well that the kids wanted a second lesson while we were still in Maui for the week and Brian graciously worked us in his schedule for later in the week. You can tell that Brian enjoys what he does and it always felt more than just a job for Brian. It’s about creating an experience that you will take for the rest of your life. I appreciated the knowledge Brian was willing to share about the water, beaches and land of Maui, the excitement that he has for surfing and teaching and just the fun that he has working with you. Communication from the time of booking (we booked 3 months prior as that’s how our family does things) to a reminder text the day before our event, to multiple texts for the second lesson on surf conditions as the waves didn’t want to cooperate with us and how he wanted to create the perfect scenario for the second go around which we appreciated. We could have just surfed, but he wanted to create the memorable experience for our boys. Customer service was spot on and second to none! He took wonderful photos from the water that he shared with us that were included in the lesson price. The quality of his lessons were consistently outstanding, we never felt rushed or pushed for time while we were on the clock. We were completely impressed with Brian’s professionalism throughout the entire process. My boys wished they could continue to grow surfing with Brian’s help but the 12 hour flight makes that difficult. Thanks Brian for making Maui surfing so memorable that they’ll will talk about it the rest of my boy’s lives!

Thank you Anna Marie for the lesson! Our daughter has never surfed before so we booked a private 90min session. She gave great instructions and encouragement the whole time!

We did so much in Maui with our 9 and 13 year olds, and of course their favorite activity the entire trip was Surfing! Brian was absolutely amazing and kids loved him. Got both kids and myself up surfing within 30 minutes! Brian had all the gear, just show up and have a good time.
Adam K — Google review
Brian was an amazing instructor for our first ever surfing lesson! He was extremely personable, friendly, and ensured we were both safe throughout the experience. I was not expecting to be able to fully surf on the first attempt, but thanks to Brian's teaching we were both able to stand up and ride some waves! 🏄‍♀️🤙 As someone who rarely ventures out into the ocean, I was anxious at first but Brian's encouragement throughout helped me feel more confident! Additionally he picked a great spot for us to surf that still had relatively shallow water even much deeper into the ocean -- even so far out we were only 5 feet deep and able to stand if we fell off our boards. He provided all the equipment and all we needed to bring were our swimsuits and towels! It's clear he knows what he's doing after more than 25 years of teaching -- we got the best crash course in surfing ever and can't recommend him enough!! 10/10 for anyone looking for surfing lessons
Helen Z — Google review
We had an amazing experience with Brian during our semi private lesson! He takes the time to teach you vital skills on land that are helpful while out on the water. We were both able to stand up on the first try and near the end it was much easier to steer and ride the waves all the way in. Also, this is a great location to surf because it wasn’t crowded and you had plenty of space out in the ocean. Look no further for surf lessons!

Absolutely great experience taking lessons with Brian in Maui! Our family of 5 had multiple morning lessons during our week stay and we had the best time learning from him. He was patient, professional, encouraging and knowledgeable of not only surfing but of the Hawaiian culture. So much Aloha - will definitely use him again when we return!

Every time I go I'm always asked to park no matter what my order is. Today I get all the way home and my order is missing something that I paid extra for. That isn't the first time. I called but I have to go back into the office with the receipt to get a refund instead of giving them the information on the card. Won't be going back there again. Not worth it.
Yvonne V — Google review
I went there and ordered a Big Mac meal but they almost gave a a quarter pounder meal. I caught that and since I was going through a drive through, they told me to park up front and they would bring out the meal. They charged me for a higher priced meal, never offered a refund and when I got home with the meal, the Big Mac had so much special sauce it over whelmed the taste and the bun was soggy. I couldn’t eat it so I just ate the soggy French fries! Don’t go there it’s the worse MacDonalds in the United States

Very clean bathroom, but I would never actually eat at a McDonald's!!! Have you sén the garbage they put in their food? I will say this, the staff at this place is on point. Very courteous and patient.

Worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to. Terrible service, always messing up orders and understaffed. Avoid at all costs. Whoever owns this franchise needs to fire management and consider just selling it all together to someone who can actually run a business correctly
Christina — Google review
The order taker was very friendly and polite. The actual order service was slow but that is common now with "fast" food. I had an island special of spam, eggs and rice . The price was a little more than I expected but again it is common now. The food was hot and tasted great. The area and washrooms was clean and well maintained. I was disappointed their soda dispenser was shut off and they didn't offer refills for customers. I understand people may abuse it, but paying customers should at least get one refill.

Food was ready quickly. They had a clean bathroom and the restaurant overall was clean. Service was friendly. We got two egg McMuffins with hash browns, diet coke, and doctor pepper. They got our modifications correct with the light ice for the sides. However, one of the McMuffins was supposed to be sub bacon for ham, but they subbed the egg with bacon, so it was just bacon, ham, and cheese. Other than that, this was a good McDonald's.
Greg B — Google review
Compared to other fast food places this place does what it needs to do ... the local big breakfast comes with McSpam and Portuguese sausages and a scoop of rice ... perfect Hawaiian / Filipino breakfast. Unfortunately no refills on coffee or pop ( soda ).

The dining experience at Wei Wei BBQ Restaurant was enjoyable, with tasty food and prompt, friendly service. Although some tables in the dining room were dirty, this can be easily avoided by opting for takeout. The BBQ plate lunch, consisting of two scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad, provided a decent meal without being extraordinary. The staff behind the counter were pleasant and efficient. It is worth noting that the restaurant has improved over the years, as reflected in more positive reviews.
Wei Wei BBQ is one of those spots you almost don’t want to tell people about — because it’s already hard enough finding parking. Family-owned, fast, friendly, and straight-up broke da mouth food. The roast duck, char siu, and crispy pork are all winners. You can’t really go wrong — it’s always hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Feels like comfort food made by your auntie who actually likes you. And I probably shouldn’t say this, but… they might have the best smash burger on the island. For real. But don’t spread it around too much. I still like being able to order without a 45-minute wait. This place has that rare combo: local feel, awesome people, and food that never misses. If you’re on Maui and haven’t tried it yet — go. Just… maybe don’t tell everyone

Drove to Pukalani to give this local spot a try. I ordered the mini Loco Moco. The burger patties were cooked very well and they had a good flavor. The mac salad was also delicious. Quality of food made it worth the drive.

Japanese restaurant
Nuka is a sleek Japanese venue offering a diverse menu of small plates, sushi, specialty rolls, and a variety of drinks. Located in the sleepy North Shore town of Haiku, it's popular among locals for its seriously fresh sushi and izakaya-style eats. The restaurant serves unique twists on traditional rolls like the Lollipop roll and offers Asian-inspired dishes such as wasabi fries.
As we went to the Road of Hana to explore the Twin Falls we discovered this Japanese restaurant was on the way there. Food was excellent. Cute little place. Staffs were wonderful. Sashimi was fresh. Our tummy satisfied.
Amenita T — Google review
Nuka in Haiku offers a cozy, stylish setting with a menu that leans into Japanese classics. While the sushi and rolls were just okay — fresh but not particularly memorable — the meat skewers really stood out. Perfectly grilled and full of flavor, they were a great surprise and easily one of the best parts of the meal. The real highlight, though, was the miso cod - buttery, tender, and deeply satisfying. It alone is worth coming for. Service was solid and the space has a nice ambiance, making it a good choice if you’re in the area and looking for a relaxed dinner with some standout bites.
JonLuca D — Google review
Delicious sushi spot upcountry. My first time dining at Nuka was outstanding. The highly quality of the fish was noticeable. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs were very warm and friendly. The service from our waitress was okay- she wasn’t the friendliest. Our food came out quickly after placing our order which was awesome because we were hungry! We didn’t have a reservation upon arrival and waited about 15 minutes for a party of two. Its indoor dining only and the space is on the smaller side. There is sushi bar seating as well (about 10 spots). We enjoyed the ceviche and mocktails from their evening specials menu, along with the dragonfly roll, maguro nigiri and ahi salad from their regular menu. We’ll definitely be back.
Melinda — Google review
Dined here many many times. The food was always amazing, some of my favorite cocktails, and there has almost always been high quality fish. The waitlist operation is inconvenient, but if you’re willing to get through that then bear in mind you will be treated unkindly by the servers. On multiple occasions I have had horrible service. It’s hard to say how many times i’ve actually enjoyed any service i’ve received here aside from the people that ran the food. Servers are miserable, rude, stuck up, and they do not have any sense of recovery after being rude. It’s unfortunate that I don’t have it in me to leave a bad tip so i’ll always leave 20%, but after my last negative interaction, I will never be returning. It’s unfortunate as the food and drinks are great, sushi chefs are talented, the food runners are nice and friendly, but your server staff is consistently rude and ruins the entire experience. Don’t come here if you want decent service.

Before Nuka, this place used to be a Napa store and before that a mini market store. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in a free-standing building on Haiku Road just across the street from the Haiku Cannery mall with lots of free parking. The Asian decor fits the restaurant perfect. It's a small open-air room that fits maybe 50 people max, with regular tables and sushi bar seating. RESERVATIONS: They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait during peak dinner hours especially on the weekend. FAVE FOODS: Karaage Chicken Very small portion but very really good. The chicken was very tender and the light karaage batter was delish. Chicken Katsu Donburi I am a fan of this place after eating this dish! The rice is laced with a sweet/salty soy flavor, topped with a over-hard fried egg cooked in the same sauce, topped with deep fried & super tender chicken katsu strips and finished off with thinly sliced nori. DEELISH! Tempura Shrimp Udon I simply love noodles, so this was an easy decision for my second time here. The broth is a bit sweet but very good (I am NOT a fan of sweet broths but this was an exception). Accompanied by a generous amount of shrimp, green bean, onion and mushroom tempura. Ahi Katsu Donburi Delicious rice dish flavored with a sweet-soy seasoning which is topped with an over-hard fried egg, and chunks of breaded and seared ahi. I personally would've liked to have the ahi cooked all the way through which would make the dish more visually pleasing, though it's still very good overall. Portion size is perfect. SERVICE: Everyone has been great all these years. OVERALL: Maui's best Japanese restaurant.

Food is always delicious, definitely my favorite restaurant on Maui… Our service last night went above and beyond, had a great time and enjoyed every bit of it.
Lelia — Google review
I've been to Nuka twice. Once a few years ago (it was excellent), and this past weekend (it was not). Service: We showed up a few minutes after they opened and scored one of the few open tables. We sat for 10-15 minutes waiting to place a drink order. What we later learned was our server was busy with a table seated after us. I had to ask a different employee for our server. She eventually arrived and didn't apologize for the delay. The service from this point was ok...clumsy, not horrible, but def. not gracious. Cocktails were delivered with no napkin to absorb the sweat off the glass. I've worked the front of the house in fine dining and It felt like the staff receive minimal training, and are delivering food as they would bowls of cereal to their children. Lots of staff only carrying 1-2 items at a time - ie a lack of efficiency. Food: This was better. We tried the miso butterfish, a tempura appetizer on the specials menu, and a variety of sashimi and sushi. These were well prepared, and made up for feeling like they didn't care if we were there or not. Salmon sashimi was not fresh, and remained on the platter after it was sampled. The remainder was fresh and tasty. Summary: Due to it's location and status as the only sushi restaurant for miles, I think management has decided they are busy and customer service doesn't need to be prioritized. That's true until it isn't, and competition appears. Our bill for two came to nearly $250. Did we feel like we got our money's worth and look forward to returning? No.

If you're an animal enthusiast visiting Maui, a guided tour of Leilani Farm Sanctuary is an absolute must. Nestled in Haiku on the North Shore, this non-profit refuge was founded by Laurelee Blanchard to provide a safe haven for animals that have faced abuse and abandonment. The sanctuary thrives thanks to its dedicated volunteers who pour their hearts into caring for the diverse array of animals, including countless cats and other rescued creatures.
This was one of the most magical experiences I’ve had on Maui. The serenity and peacefulness of the location surpassed my expectations. All the animals were so well taken care of and friendly. It truly was a piece of heaven on earth.

This was an amazing experience! Cannot recommend it enough. Super fun to get to see such an authentic lifestyle and meet animals who are so grateful to be rescued! You get to see so many things you cannot find anywhere else!

This was a cool experience off the beaten path. These animals are all rescues that are cared for by volunteers and the owner of the property. For $50 each they take you on a tour of the property and teach you about the animals and where they were rescued from. Then they allow you to stay and meet the animals and spend time with them. Ample parking, portable bathroom in the parking lot. There were guinea pigs, tortoises, turkeys, cats, goats, chickens and more.

I cannot imagine a more serene and beautiful place than this animal sanctuary. So many friendly animals and a wonderful tour lead by Danielle, who described each animal's story of how they ended up at the sanctuary and taught us about many of the native plants growing there.

Fun for all ages, especially for anyone who has not had much experience with farm animals. Our guide Danielle was exceptionally patient with the guests and radiated genuine love and care for each of the animals. We stayed long past the tour to cuddle cats and take photos on the stunningly beautiful property.

It was wonderful to visit this great local business and buy some products from the source. In the past we always bought our Maui Upcountry Jams at Tutu’s Pantry down in Kihei. But alas, the Tutu’s storefront is closed. You can still order from Tutu’s Online, of course. Since we were visiting upcountry Maui anyway, we decided to stop by and make our purchase in person. So happy we did, too! We got to choose from a huge list of jams and jellies. We bought two jars. Shoulda bought four or five!!! It’s the perfect souvenir to bring home from a visit to Maui. You can be reminded of how special Maui is every time you spread a little Upcountry Jam on your breakfast biscuit. Mahalo, Maui Upcountry Jams!

My hubby and I stopped here just as Jan was closing, but she graciously allowed us to come in and pick out some jams and jellies. I had tried lilikoi (passion fruit) for the first time when I saw her listing online for lilikoi jam, syrup and curd. I knew, I needed to try all of them! Jan carefully boxed up our selection so that we could mail it home. When our jams and jellies arrived, we couldn't wait to try all of them, and I'll admit, only a week later and we're ready to place another order. You won't regret trying Maui Upcountry Jams and Jellies, it will make a great gift too! And if you're ever in Maui, make a trip to Kula to meet Jan and stock up on jams and jellies for your trip.

You can find these products at the Kula Botanical Garden, or even rebranded by a few other local companies such as Tutu's; so if you see that guava sauce somewhere else, chances are it came from here! They don't usually sell out of this location, but were happy to indulge us since we had driven all the way up from Kihei just for the Maui Onion Mustard, and the Maui Onion Guava Sauce. They come in a couple sizes, but get the big ones, you won't regret it!

Pizza Hut is a well-known chain that offers delivery, carry-out, and dine-in options for pizza, wings, and pasta along with sides and desserts. The atmosphere of the restaurant is laid-back with a commercial center that includes various dining options. Customers have praised the prompt delivery service and the quality of their orders, emphasizing the hot and fresh items as well as the attentive delivery personnel.
The sweetest girl greeted me. She was very good at customer service and complying to everyone. The pizza took a little longer then expected but they were very busy. Staff seems to be getting a lot better

Do NOT order delivery from these people. They don’t have any delivery drivers and still accept delivery orders so you’ll never get your order. They didn’t even think to call my wife who was waiting for her food at work to let her know that they didn’t have any drivers so she could make other arrangements for her meal. Instead they just let the food sit until they closed and my wife had to call them wondering where her food was only to be told by the guy “well it’s not our fault what do you want me to do? Just pick it up yourself.” Incredibly unprofessional and rude.

Zero stars. I ordered over an hour before closing time for delivery and nothing ever changed on the tracking and nothing ever showed up. Now everything around me is closed and I have no options for food. I should have looked at the other reviews before ordering. Horrible look for business. You might as well not even be in business. No call or anything from anyone. Thanks for wasting my time.

Due to no pizza hut driver, delivery service contracted out to Doordash. I waited over 1 hour for delivery and still estimated delivery was pushed out. I decided to pick up my pizza instead. Pizza was barely warm and dry. This is most likely due to how long it took for the pizza to be picked up.
Sherry Y — Google review
Ordered 2 pizzas and some boneless wings tonight. Sometimes, only Pizza Hut will do. Order was 35 minutes ahead of projection and it was literally a perfect order. All items as ordered, all items super hot, fresh and properly prepared. They remembered the extra marinara cups and didn’t skimp on my extra cheese. I don’t think it gets better for Pizza Hut. Delivery guy was fast, polite and went the extra mile to walk up our dark and janky path to deliver to my front door. Most guys just call and wait for us to come down. It was a really nice experience and I’m proud of the team that put it out for us tonight. Thanks so much! We needed your excellent service tonight and you really delivered.
Megan A — Google review
I order pizza a few months back and realized that my mushroom topping was actually canned mushrooms. When I called the Pizza Hut the worker said yes they did use canned mushrooms which is gross. So stopped ordering pizza from them. However my son really wanted pizza from them so I called to ask if they started to use fresh mushrooms again and the girl said yes that they are using fresh mushrooms. My bad though I tried to give them another chance and made an order with some mushroom topping. Well guess what?? There still canned.. why is Pizza Hut using canned mushrooms and why did the worker lie? Seriously do you think we can’t tell. Super disappointed….
Sheana L — Google review
They don't cut their pizza's properly. The cuts are not deep enough and proportionately cut. The latest pizza was cut into 7 slices.
Curtis — Google review
As you can tell from the many reviews here your staff is extremely disrespectful to where I won’t even order from here any more. I can’t count the times the people at the register are super rude and always have attitude. My family use to order from here constantly until this new staff came on board. If they don’t like that they constantly mess up orders then they go in the back and talk about you like you can’t hear them. You guys really need to do something about this. You can see you have a lot of unhappy customers.

Best margarita on the island! Everything was top notch and amazingly good. Personally.... I love a great margarita, and it's surprisingly difficult to find a good one on Maui.. but wow... Went here for drinks and dessert. We got the Peruvian Fizz and the Lilikoi mojito. And then the churros. The drinks were fantastic. We'll get them again. And the churros were the best all time, for me. Freshly fried cinnamon goodness - served with a scoop of coconut ice cream and a scoop of lilikoi ice cream. And our servers were great as well! WE LOVED LIMA COCINA + CANTINA and we will for sure come back!

**As a Peruvian, I was really looking forward to trying the ceviche here, especially after having one of the best ceviches in Oahu recently. Unfortunately, this place didn't quite match that level.** The **ceviche** was a big letdown. The lime flavor was so bitter and overpowering that it masked any potential seasoning — honestly, it didn’t even taste like it had any. The fish quality itself was actually good, but the flavors just didn’t come together well at all. On top of that, the portioning was disappointing — the amount of **corn** was a sliver, and they gave me just **one slice of sweet potato**, which felt unbalanced. Trying to salvage the experience, I ordered the **Papa a la Huancaína**, thinking I could make my own Leche de Tigre with it. But $20 for that? It was the **thickest, chunkiest** version of the dish I’ve ever had — not smooth or well-prepared. The **only saving grace** was the Lomo Saltado burrito . It was flavorful and actually pretty good. If I had to rate the ceviche alone, I’d give it maybe a **2 out of 5**, and that’s purely for the quality of the fish. **Overall, I’d only recommend coming here for the Lomo Saltado burrito — definitely not for the ceviche.** Would you like a shorter version or something tailored for Yelp or Google reviews?

Good food. The ceviche was tasty, though the serving size for the ceviche could have been a bit bigger. The other plates were a decent size

If you're looking for an incredible Peruvian dining experience, you have to check out [Restaurant Name]. I started with a lilikoi mojito that was pure perfection—not too sweet and wonderfully refreshing. The star of the show, though, was the ceviche. The fish was incredibly fresh and the citrus marinade had the perfect kick. What really made it stand out was the addition of crispy calamari on top, which added a wonderful texture and savory flavor to every bite. Highly recommend!

We love Peruvian food and wow, this place did not disappoint. The tiradito trio with calamari added was amazing. I would come back just to eat that again. The arroz con pollo did not require a knife. Beautifully cooked. The sudado pescado didn’t disappoint either.

Came here for drinks and dessert and loved it! We tried the Peruvian Fizz and Lilikoi Mojito — both were fantastic. The churros were incredible, fresh and cinnamon-y, served with coconut and lilikoi ice cream. The servers were great too. We absolutely loved Lima Cocina + Cantina and will definitely return!
