Lancaster in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Lancaster, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Lancaster sits in the Antelope Valley of the Mojave Desert, known for wide-open skies, clear starry nights, and springtime wildflower and poppy displays in the nearby Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. The city’s revitalized BLVD district offers local restaurants, galleries, and community events along a walkable main street. Aviation and aerospace history are highlighted through attractions like the Aerospace Walk of Honor and the city’s proximity to Edwards Air Force Base and NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. Visitors also encounter quirky roadside sights such as the “Musical Road,” which plays a melody as you drive over it.
With favorites like Sub Machine, Jane Reynolds Park, and Marshalls, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Sub Machine and Boba Cove & Cafe so you can get the best taste of Lancaster while you’re here. I appreciate the occasional opportunity to visit a local Walmart Supercenter and witness affordable prices reminiscent of the past. The store impresses me with its well-stocked shelves, but what truly stands out is their commendable effort in helping locate missing children. Each Walmart I've visited prominently displays posters featuring sixteen faces of these vulnerable children, updated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. By capturing these images, Walmart encourages prayers for their safe return.
Well laid out & labelling of products with reasonable service from staff. Also better stocked than the average store 👍🏼

It’s not right that I have to wait over 10 minutes just for someone to help me get dog food! Why is it locked when there’s no one readily available to help. Once I get it, I then must stand in line and wait again. There has to be a better way.
Lc G — Google review
Of course Walmart has everything and anything, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are mostly first-rate. So there's nothing really bad to say except why are the shelves so high?!?!? Yes, I'm 5 feet but I see many people can't reach the top two shelves easily and even the staff members aren't very tall. One shouldn't need to have to find a tall customer to help reach an item because some people aren't in a good mood & resent the intrusion! 😫 Is this system intentional so that the bottom 4 shelves of goods move faster before expiry date, leaving the top items to be moved lower as their sell by date nears? The store could have a section where there is a rolling, 3-step stool for staff to assist with purchasing goods from the top two shelves! 😢 I know that the store has to avoid waste while making a profit! I get that! Can the store managers please consider my complaint and feel my pain a little? Thanks in advance! 🤔😳😒✝️💯✔️
Linda J — Google review
I don’t usually shop here due to poor customer service. But today once again I was reminded why I hate shopping here regardless of the competitive prices. Ericka from automotive was very rude and unprofessional. Evidently she lacks customer service skills. If you hate your job lady you are in the wrong industry. No one was even in line and you made the biggest fuss about ringing me up. I literally had 18 items, wow 3 over the limit. Since you didn’t have anyone in line I didn’t think it was a big deal. Walmart do better when hiring I mean I see why you have a high turnover rate. Because of employees like this.
Dee D — Google review
WORST BAKERY SERVICE IN AMERICA!! RUDE WORKERS! THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! They tried EVERYTHING to not take my cake order then when they did take my order the cake was completely WRONG! They treated me absolutely horrible, they DO NOT WANT TO WORK and they told me NO to every single question I asked, they were not interested in anything I had to say! I thought maybe that was a bad day for them so I was there just now n was just going to get cupcakes for a coworker, SAME EXACT BEHAVIOR! DIFFERENT WORKERS!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME BY COMING HERE! I totally knew better, and my cake was DRY and the whipped frosting BURNED MY MOUTH!
Jennifer M — Google review
As we all know Walmarts customer service has gone way down hill. Why is there never anyone to answer their phone calls when customer service is needed? Why are their employees who do the “grocery pickup foraging” always in the middle of the isle or blocking things that the rest of us need to look at, there in the way with out a care in the world? A simple answer of the phone would help out SO much but here we are, nothing but unanswered calls, so now I’m resorting to bad online reviews, I’ll be calling corporate, (15 plus calls later), and also walking my happy self inside to talk my happy words to them 😊😊😊😊.
Desiraye S — Google review
Had trouble finding associate to help find stuff we wanted. Even was on app to help locate items. Couldn't find sushi took for ever to walk around I'm on a cane so it was painful getting around. Looked at all aisles for pickle juice except for aisle A31, because there isn't one, ended up just buying a big jar of pickles and then went next day to BevMo.

Marshalls is a retail establishment that provides a diverse range of well-known apparel, accessories, footwear, and household items. They boast an extensive array of beauty merchandise; it is advised to visually inspect the expiry dates on packaging while ensuring they are factory sealed. However, the selection of teen clothing may be limited with the upcoming school season approaching. The store maintains a tidy environment and employees on the sales floor are friendly and accommodating in their assistance to customers.
Very friendly service and great selection of so many different things lots of brands to choose from even a real person actually stationed at dressing room to assist guests i like the way they arrange the products by color scheme to make it easier for consumers to pick out especially if they are doing a particular theme highly organized! credit is an option here so happy shopping my fine friends!
Marie C — Google review
I went in today to do a return at this store for some clothing my daughter got for her birthday. Let me just start by saying the service was horrendous. One of the associates that seemed new couldn’t figure out to process the return. The store coordinator Victoria comes by to help her. Not only does she have a nasty attitude but starts inspecting the clothing I’m returning. Literally for three pieces…she’s in the back scanning and investigating three items that don’t total $30. She not only has the store manager come in and take a look as well, But I call her to come back to the register and she looks back at me and tells me to wait with the biggest and nastiest attitude on her face. I don’t appreciate the service she provided and telling me that these items don’t match the description. Not my problem lady. It’s your job to provide service and figure it out. Marshall’s should reconsider who they have representing their store as managers. This puts a bad reputation for your store and environment. As I will no longer come into this store nor will I have my family and friends step foot in here again.
Sally A — Google review
I'm not big on shopping at Marshall's. I thought they would have some nice dresses so I took a chance and stopped by this store. They didn't have any nice going out to dinner type dresses. So I walked around, checking out the store. Nothing caught my eye. Halloween items are here. It was fun to see what they had. I didn't buy anything.
Annette G — Google review
Great store! Very clean, solid clothing options, with a pleasant ambiance. I found a dope outfit that was obviously a steal. I'm pretty excited to wear it tomorrow. Also saw other options I'll get next time 🙌🏽 employees were also very nice. GOOD JOB.

Marshalls has a big selection for men, much bigger than other similar chains in the area, I like their business and athletic section. Shoes are a hit or miss unless you're size 13 then there isn't much but it's always worth checking out. Sometimes you get those hidden gems.
Victor U — Google review
Very friendly and professional staff. Very well organized and lots off variety. Very close to free way exit.
Ashu D — Google review
This store has some of the best sales. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, and you have time to really look through their sale racks, you WILL find something you'll LOVE! If you need help, it's hard to find someone to help you. Their checkout line is always busy, but the line goes fast!! They always have a ton of cashier's. They should put a few of them on the floor to help the customer's. The dressing room is a bit cluttered and disorganized. The parking is decent, you can usually find a spot in front of the store.

Beautiful natural area with easy walking trails. Lots of wildlife active and beautiful Joshua Trees to make you smile. I arrived around 1245 and it was recess time at the school adjacent. Not a bad thing for me but if you're looking for peace and quiet, it might distract you. I enjoyed all of the interesting art pieces scattered throughout. There was seating evenly spaced along the trails offering good views and a choose-your-own route kind of theme. Overall, I had a great time and will return. I couldn't figure it out but some areas of the part have A Lot of broken glass... It was fairly weathered so it's been there for some time. Does this keep people from making trails or is it neglect? Just curious!

I've been shopping here pretty much since they opened and I'm telling everyone when they first started up they were nice and helpful. So what happened? Their customer service is non existent, you ask anyone a single question they are downright rude about answering it as if YOU the hard working paying customer should know the new security guard someone ought to look into. He greeted me by sending me out bc of a drink in my hand. Are you kidding me?? Noone has ever done that plus they sell drinks. I go to Macy's n that's never happened! The store was clean and will stocjed. The employees were nice, though a tad loud. Where they lose a star for me is in maintaining the line. Random guy just walks right by the line and plops his stuff down. No attempt was made to redirect him to the end of the line. Not cool.

Park
Jane Reynolds Park is a popular destination, especially during the summer months. It offers various amenities such as a playground, picnic area, basketball courts, and a skate park. The park also features an outdoor pool and splash pad area for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, it has sports fields and hosts annual events that are fun to attend. The skate park within the premises is well-liked by skaters due to its good flow and kidney-shaped pool with a shallow end.
Love coming to this park, has just about everything one could ask for. Best feature is the “Ghost bowl” thank you Lance Mountain!!!
J A — Google review
It was a nice park, in a quiet neighborhood. As it gotta later in the day, more people came to the park that seemed homeless. My 12 yr was offered a hit off a vape by a teen boy, my son declined and my son was ready to go after that.
Melissa G — Google review
Playground and equipment are clean and maintained. When I went into the restroom, there was graffiti head to toe in the walls. Homeless lingering towards the middle of the park doesn't make me feel safe with kids nearby. Tennis, volleyball, basketball, and skatepark are all clean and maintained.
James F — Google review
Great skate Park activity Center has a multitude of programs the kids playground is gated which is great. Some vagrants and homelessness around the area at night but great during the day
Shahab C — Google review
Loads of trees for shade. It's a great park, although there was a homeless person sleeping in the park and someone puked at the water fountain. Luckily, other people at the park offered us some of their bottled water. There is also damage to the gates at the play area to gain entry, so obviously, homeless people use the park at night as shelter. Lastly, when we took our daughter there, a group of men was sitting at the play area, drinking beer and smoking cannabis. So all in all the park is great however the people at the park is sometimes a hit or miss.
Jan K — Google review
The park is pretty peaceful in the morning for the most part. They keep the grass cut. You have to watchout for dog poop in the grass. Few homeless ppl crash out by the skatepark area. And by the pool is disgusting. Human waste and urine there. Trash left by homeless ppl. It needs to be power washed and treated with chemicals to get rid of the biohazard left behind. But overall. Cool park to stop at and run and rest your feet.
D W — Google review
Is a nice park, but if you are by yourself with your daughter, doesn’t feel very safe, there is a people sleeping on front of the kid playground

Fun playground for all ages. 8 swings (2 are for babies, 2 big kid/ regular swings, 4 are the large plastic inclusive swings), multiple slides, climbing stuff, baby stuff, music, turf hill….. there is a lot! Huge park with lots of shade, trees, many volleyball, tennis, baseball, and basketball courts, picnic tables and barbecues. Lots of people take their dogs here. There are washrooms by the playground. There are murals and the grounds are kept nicely. It is by a large bus terminal and YMCA, which also means there is tons of parking. Lots of potential but many things are broken; the batons for playing the music, the logs for climbing on, and holes in the rubber ground. It is also very dirty with handprints are hand dirt.

This park has made several improvements over the last 3 years! It’s has a new play area for the kids! 5 baseball fields, 2 full basketball court, full tennis courts and volleyball.. This park has lots space to spread out and have a birthday party or fly a kite! During the week it’s very quite. The community really makes an efforts to keep it safe and clean for everyone to enjoy! Sub Machines has unquestionably established a new benchmark for excellent service and delectable subs. Their team, embodying courtesy, efficiently managed a sizeable party order and ensured punctual delivery, showcasing their adeptness in time management. The subs' quality merits special recognition, bursting with flavors that tantalized taste buds. This experience left one amazed that such an unassuming sub shop could so skillfully cater to a large crowd.
Their subs are very delicious. My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time while on a lunch date and they really gave us the works. This is now one of our top lunch spots in the AV. They also play really good music.
Daunyae M — Google review
I've been coming here since I was about 15, I'm 37 now and it has stayed consistent. I always get the turkey and cheese sub and it's always amazing. The way they layer the good with that Italian dressing from heaven. It's so damn good! I will always say yes to this place. no notes and the people here are always incredibly kind and inviting. I also love the stories of all the mob memorabilia all over the store. It's just a great place all around. Thank you!

Delicious 'Italian-style' submarine sandwiches, generous portions, complimentary fresh fruit, and incredible AV hospitality, all replete with a gangsta motif. This place came to me highly recommended by a co-worker and it met my highest expectations. Bravo, Sub Machine!
Oscar A — Google review
I made a phone order with my co-worker and she treated me to this place. I ordered the club bc it comes with bacon. I said no oil no mayo. So I got a sloppy sandwich with oil, mayo, no bacon no avocado. This place has gone down in service but yet prices are up. I rather go to Submarina or Jersey Mike’s.

I've been going here since 2020 and I'm happy that they survived Thur COVID. The owners are very sweet was very welcoming when I returned again this year. There was a second time after coming back where the customer service wasn't all that great unfortunately but never the less I enjoy their sandwiches so I disregard

Most good places are known for something, here it's the Italian dressing!! Been coming here since I was a kid. Lately the veggie is my go to. They don't skimp on topping, so don't expect to eat with out making a mess haha grab that fork before you sit down and enjoy your sandwich with fresh fruit. I always get the dressing ON the sandwich AND a side of it!!

I love submachine!! I haven’t found a sandwich place like it anywhere else & I haven’t lived in the AV for 8 years. Every time I come there, submachine is A MUST! Today I went there & the little dude with the cool glasses was so very helpful, making suggestions about different items, giving me heads up about the different chips. He was so kind & patient. I get the club with roast beef instead of ham, “everything” except lettuce & onion. The Italian dressing is amazing. They had cantelope & honey dew which was so perfectly ripe! They were also playing my favorite music, shout out to who’s ever plays it featured PawPaw Rod & jenevieve!! Thanks for the great experience everyone.

Cafe
Boba Cove is a contemporary Vietnamese eatery located in a modern mall. They specialize in serving delicious pho and other Vietnamese dishes, as well as bubble teas and smoothies. While the restaurant doesn't receive frequent orders from the speaker, they express their love for Boba Cove. The highlight of their menu is the calamari, which consists of real tentacles rather than chewy rings. It is available seasoned in Regular, Mild or Spicy flavors.
Really loved our Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee (both with no boba)! It was very fresh and delicious. Got a punch card that lets you get one free after buying 8 drinks which is awesome! You can easily peel back the plastic film or ask for no film to just drink it without a straw, too. Also got a steamed pork bun which was very yummy but a bit dry, excited to try it again and see if it’s more moist next time. Also didn’t really like that it came wrapped in plastic and then placed in a plastic bag when we asked for no bag and no utensils. I know people just go on auto-pilot mode so it’s hard to correct that even when someone asks. I’ll just try to be more persistent in asking next time (: Overall loved this place and enjoyed the food a lot! We will return for sure
Nadra — Google review
Good smoothies only, but I was so amazed by how small the regular is, it's making me not want to come back - 4 drinks for $28 and the large looks like a regular drink anywhere else 😩🤣(note I got 3 "regulars") The actual boba is not good , isn't chewy it's not good quality. Kinda like donut shops boba LOLL
Kimberly — Google review
Love the food and dricks here! Always delicious. Staff is friendly. 4 stars due to the time, because sometimes the orders take just a bit longer than I think is appropriate. Atmosphere is fine enough, but was better pre-covid when they had more tables. Still recommed this place and will continue to go. Fried tofu, pho, popcorn chicken, fresh spring rolls, macarons, boba, smoothies--all things we love here.

I'm from downtown LA, I visited a friend here and looking for a Boba Place. Luckily found this olace they have good food especially their Boba and sweet potato fries
Yerfej O — Google review
First everyone that works there is so nice. I would say it’s underrated. Ramen burger was delicious and juicy and the Pho was delicious. I substituted my meat for tofu and it was perfect. Not a lot of places offer tofu here in Lancaster and they were kind enough to substitute it.
Veronica L — Google review
This was my first visit to Boba Cove, however, my daughters love it and go frequently. I am not usually a fan of boba, but Boba Cove's bobas are plump, sweet, and not rubbery like other places. The ambiance was nice and staff was very friendly. We ordered three beverages and sweet potato fries (which were by far the best I've had in the AV). It was reasonably priced and the service was great. I will definitely be back.
Jessica H — Google review

Steak house
Black Angus Steakhouse is a beloved destination for steak lovers in Lancaster, offering a delightful blend of beef, seafood, and surf 'n' turf options within its charming Western-themed ambiance. Known for its commitment to quality and tradition, this iconic chain serves up mouthwatering steaks alongside hearty sides like loaded baked potatoes and creamy garlic mashed potatoes. The prime rib is particularly noteworthy, slow-roasted to perfection and accompanied by savory au jus.
Shane is our amazing bartender, this man knows his drinks and makes them perfect! We've come several times and he never disappoints.. The strawberry and prickly pear lenon drops are delicious Highly recommend!!! Over all service is good.

I have been coming here for about more than 17 years there like a part of my family with good service and wonderful waitress that know through the years. Food is great with great prices for us. We normally get the Campfire Feast comes with a choice of appetizers always get the Sampler Wagon then dinner for 2 plus at the end a dessert sometimes we try new things that they came out with. We normally don't eat our dinner food because we are already full lol, but we take it home. We also come for Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's for dinner here with my partner or family even for our birthdays 😉. Great price, especially if you have the app for rewards I get points. Thank you Black Angus family Laura & Dayna have been our waitresses when we dont get one or the other the other waitress are great also. Addie used to be our waitress from time to time she comes here to work when she is in town. 😃 😊 😀

Tonight we had such an awesome dining experience! The food was out of this world 🤩. The filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with flavor. The French Dip? Absolutely delicious/juicy tender meat with bread that was soft and super fresh. Our server, Paige, nailed it! She took care of everything with a smile, pleasant, kind, and totally on point. Tonight Paige and Black Angus definitely get a 👍👍

It's sort of loud, but food choices and prices are good. Happy Hour is a great deal. The prawns i got were a bit dry, but still tasty and the rice and baked potato were prepared well. We were with a party 5 and our server kept up well.

I had a fantastic steak yesterday! The quality of the meat was excellent—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The service was also great; the staff was friendly and attentive. Considering the quality, the price was quite reasonable. Overall, it was a satisfying experience, and I would definitely go back!

I had an amazing time at my local Black Angus. My server "Dana" was very kind and professional. Her service is exceptional. She's fast, friendly, and she never stopped smiling. She was extremely busy and still managed to find time to make everyone happy. I felt extremely welcomed with her as my server. My food was served in a timely manner. My food was served hot and fresh. 10 out of 10 I would visit again. Thank you Dana.

Nancy is our server and she is awesome and friendly. She make sure our family’s food are and we are satisfied. She comes back all the time to check if we need something (even refills) and pays attention to details of our order.

Sandwich shop
This Subway location, now under new management, provides a casual fast-food experience where customers can customize their own sandwiches and salads. The menu offers various health-conscious options for those seeking nutritious choices. It is worth noting that the sandwiches are prepared exceptionally well and the customer service has significantly improved. Overall, this Subway branch has undergone positive changes and should be commended for its efforts to maintain high standards in food quality and service.
Food was great and customer service was even greater. A bit pricey since being back in subway after a few years but overall great

I came at 6:55 PM and they told me they were closed and only accepting online orders for pick up. But according to Google, they close at 8 PM so I’m not sure why they did not want to take my order when I went to the drive-through

The Girl unique Was very rude to me and my Friend she dropped the olive oil bottle in the jalapenos and looks like she had a attitude when I asked for extra meat on my sandwich I've already had a bad day and that just topped it off for me but hey the food was Good.

This store has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Lady made me wait in the drive thru 15 didn't even take my order... no vars were in front of me she said they were busy but it was only 1 customer I. The store. I told her I was there to pick up an order and then she said pull forward. She then printed out the order and began making it. With took an additional 10 minutes. I u assigned from the order and left. This is the worst customer service period !!!

My son went in to the subway to get something to drink and this man and Woman that didn’t want to show her face denied him service for absolutely no reason because it was raining and they said they couldn’t let them in there at the time was 6:30PM and they said that their lobby was closed already, and the lobby doesn’t close until 7pm they were very rude and disrespectful did not want to give any kind of information or did not allow my son to buy anything then I called the store and asked for their managers number and he said he would not give it to me. He then started to argue with me because he wanted to know why I wanted his managers number number. THIS WAS A VERY BIG ACT OF DISCRIMINATION And it will not be tolerated

Came in at 10:30am front door said lobby was closed, so proceeded to drive thru and no service there either. Just a bad experience when hungry.

55 minutes and they couldn't make 3 sandwiches right. Terrible service. No Manager. Don't bother with this subway. Asked for Pepperoncini was told they don't have fettuccine. They found Pepperoncini but put it on the wrong sandwich. Asked for mustard on the turkey sand got Ranch. Ranch goes on Chicken bacon Ranch sandwich they put mustard. All 3 sandwiches were wrong🤦

I had been to this location one time before. At that time there were many flies in the food area. I never returned. Yesterday, my husband surprised me with lunch, and although I’ve stayed away from this subway in particular, I ate half the tuna sandwich. Well I got a second surprise when I was wrapping the second half to put it away. Blue mold spots. I wanted to throw up up!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!! My husband had to get upset before they refunded him. I will never eat subway again! STAY AWAY
