Doug's Fish Fry offers generously sized fish platters in a cozy setting adorned with a colorful seascape mural and a charming train set. The restaurant has a slightly more mature ambiance with its knotty-pine wainscoting and nautical decor, but it also features attractions for kids such as a large double-sided aquarium and an overhead train set. The establishment is known for its delicious seafood, chicken, and housemade ice cream.
I loved my fish fry dinner here! Everything was awesome, will definitely eat here again! Very nice folks. We also tried their milk shake, very creamy and delicious

Wentt here for the first time for an early dinner with family from Florida. We ordered and found a table near the windows. The restroom was decorated with a bunch of photos and fun stuff on the walls, super cute. The service was friendly and quick. The food was fresh and super hot. I got the tender dinner with fries and Mac and cheese and the Mac was fantastic! The tenders and fries were good too. Hubby got the fish sandwich dinner and liked it but said the fish was kind of flavorless.. overall we'll be back and enjoyed it. It was a bit loud in there but it was also quite busy.

Doug’s Fish Fry was UNBELIEVABLE. Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had in my life. The workers were kind and service was prompt and superb. We got the scallops dinner and a fish plate and ho-ly-crap was it incredible. Some of the most tender scallops and fish I’ve ever had. They have several house made fresh sauces (including remarkable tartar and cocktail sauces) that perfectly compliment their food. The hand cut fries and freshly battered onion rings were to die for. And the view from the front window was so picturesque. If you are ANYWHERE within a one hour drive of this restaurant, please do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t find better food, fresher fish, or more excellent service anywhere else.

Excellent customer service! excellent food excellent ice cream excellent restaurant Clean restaurant and Restrooms 1st time and loved it We got the Fish dinner with fries and coleslaw. Definitely we will go back Oh on the back of restaurant they have an EV charger lots of them!

Doug’s Fish and Chips was a delightful experience, with everything cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The highlight was definitely the lobster roll rich, fresh, and buttery, it stood out as the star of the meal. The sauces were another standout, offering the perfect tangy and savory complement to the seafood. Both the crisps and onion rings were satisfyingly crunchy and flavorful, though just a bit on the oily side, which is expected and forgivable for this kind of hearty, indulgent comfort food.
Nilo M — Google review
A must visit if at Skaneateles. Everything on the menu was fresh and you can taste the quality. They make their own sauces, use local products and are very friendly. Large portion for the fish sandwich, the scallops were fried just right, shrimp was perfect. The coleslaw was the best I've ever had, it must have been just made.
Tehaul S — Google review
This is hands down the best fried fish I've ever had in my life. I just swung dropped by on my way to New York. I will definately come again. The lemonade here is good took and love the choice of sauces.
Adrian C — Google review
Love this place for seafood! Loved the shrimp po-boy and gumbo was quite nice, different than I've had in the past. Fresh items change daily. Oysters today, scallops in a few days. The fish laid across the sandwich like a whale on a dingy! Great family that has been serving for many years. Go there for the food; the taste will overwhelm any expectations for ambiance. This is a great seafood "shack". If you have seafood allergies, they offered a few items (like mac-n-cheese) to satisfy my wife, but that is not their main purpose. Can't wait to come back!

Best doughnuts ever… made fresh right in the window. Beautiful selection of additional goodies to tempt you as you’re making your way to the register. We got the flavors plain, cinnamon sugar, and limited edition apple cider glaze. These photos were taken in August 2024. Definitely going again!

The drinks were served quickly, they were delicious, and the prices are good. However wasn’t impressed with the Caprese salad and grilled cheese I ordered. Took them forever to make and the flavor was just not there. Save your money for their drink menu

After roaming the sunny but cool autumn streets of skaeneatlas it was time for coffee and some treats at the bakery. The Viennese swirl was amazing. The pastries simply crumbled and melted in the mouth. The cream with the raspberry jam just added to the deliciousness. The coconut covered donut was fresh. As was the drip coffee. Awesome experience. Wish they had kept the handwritten boards instead of the tv panels. Have taken off some points from the service as my better half had asked for a cookie to be warmed up which could have been just zapped in the microwave but a firm no nixed that. Would a 15s zap been that bad?

The Diner Breakfast Sandwich was the best I’ve had. Incredibly fresh, soft ciabatta roll. Heavenly aioli. Wife loved the blueberry scone. We’ll be back!

I am stating the obvious to anyone who lives in town, but the Skaneateles bakery is AWESOME! I eat there at least three times a week and it is always consistently excellent. Great breakfast and lunch sandwiches, I am eating one as I write this. The bake goods are also excellent and the staff and owner Chris, who is usually there , are always very efficient and friendly. They are never understaffed and always smiling. We are very lucky to have such a great place in our village! Shout out to Alicia, and all the staff for always being so friendly no matter how busy they are! Looking forward to my next visit!!

Located in Skaneateles, New York, this restaurant is known for its inviting atmosphere and varied culinary offerings. So good. Outstanding service. Even better food. The Brie toast was incredible. The homemade crab cakes were delicious. The outdoor seating area was tight but understandable considering the time of year. Totally recommend.

July 2025: we were visiting the Skaneateles area and wanted to grab a bite to eat downtown. Most of the top rated restaurants that were recommended were either fully booked or closed. We walked past Blue Water Grill and liked that it was on the water and they had one high top table open for two inside, so we took it. We were seated at a tabletop in the back of the restaurant in a corner across from the back bar. We both felt it was very warm inside the restaurant, it seemed like they didn't have air conditioning and it was 85 degrees outside. It was uncomfortable for us but we were hungry. The menu was large with a variety of items- from sushi, to hamburgers, to salads, steak, curry, pasta, and more. We ordered the Classic Napoleon and a few sushi rolls for dinner. I liked the Napoleon because I liked the combination of the pineapple, onion, and avocado. My husband thought it had too much red onion and needed a starch. The maki was okay. Overall, a nice place to stop if you want a variety of menu options and a decent meal.
Michelle — Google review
Good food, drinks and service! Dined in the bar area for a relaxing meal after a 5 hour drive arriving into the area. This experience checked off all the boxes. Not our first time here, and it won't be the last. Started off with the brie appetizer. Super yummy! Could of had another order for the meal. Clams, burger and lobster salad were great! Sit by the window for a true downtown view.

Stopped for late lunch on a Sunday and waited in the lobby for 10 minutes with no hostess around to direct us. We went to the bar and asked and sat in there rather than a table in the dining room. The menu has a wide selection to fit your tastes-including a separate sushi list. The bar tender was attentive and checked in several times and was helpful with the sushi selection. We had SUMMER BERRY SALAD, CALIFORNIA ROLL, NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH, GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICH. Everyone said their meals were delicious. I had the salad and the tastes were fantastic mixed together. The Nashville Chicken looked amazing too!
Maura K — Google review
Stopped in for cocktails and lunch while visiting the beautiful Skaneateles lake. Our bartender and server Rosalie was awesome, food was good but nothing spectacular, we had the Tuna for an appetizer and shrimp tacos. Views are spectacular, definitely a must visit while in the area.

Josh M was an amazing server. The food was outstanding. We got the mahi-mahi dish, so many flavors and fresh. The kitchen was pretty busy, but we still got our food and a good amount of time. This is a staple in Skaneatles Will definitely come back!
Simanah F — Google review
We had about a 40 min wait. Chose to get a drink at the bar while waiting. Got our seats and ordered the baked Brie appetizer. Ordered dinner at same time. It took almost 30 min to get the app which had burnt candied pecans on it. About five min later our meals came. I chose the hot honey chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The breading and hot honey sauce was black and crispy burnt off the chicken breast that had been cut in half before serving. The chicken was leather. Sweet potato fries were mostly burnt black with very little orange showing. Very disappointing meal. Best part was the drink at the bar and the very sweet girls who were running the service.

Visited today for lunch from Scotland with my husband and son. Food was lovely with big portions and plenty of choice, especially if you like fish dishes. We had the steak tacos, bison burger, Nashville chicken burger and nachos. Such a beautiful location for a restaurant, next to the pier on the lake. Our table overlooked the lake which was gorgeous. Our server was attentive and friendly. Thanks for a nice afternoon 🥰

Restaurant
Located in Skaneateles, New York, LakeHouse Pub is a charming and relaxed spot offering classic American dishes and a selection of draft beers. The pub also hosts regular live music events, adding to its laid-back atmosphere. Guests can enjoy delicious drinks such as draft beer, ale, and wine while savoring the great food on offer. What a perfect lunch spot! Great food and food. Had the roast beef sandwich (aka beef on weck) - WOW! Really good and the horseradish was fresh and strong. The Reuben was superb. The "chip and dip" with house made chips was OUTSTANDING, such a simple appetizer but sooo good!
Joe M — Google review
Located in the heart of the picturesque lake town of Skaneateles, The Lakehouse Pub offers a lively and casual atmosphere that draws both locals and visitors alike. The place was bustling when we arrived for lunch, with a laid-back seating style where you find your own table and place your order at the bar. Despite this informal setup, there were plenty of attentive servers circulating to deliver food and keep drinks topped off. This pub seems to be a go-to spot for libations and classic bar fare—perfect for those looking to unwind with comfort food and a drink. We opted for a lighter option, ordering salads instead of the heavier menu items. The greens and vegetables were notably fresh, which we appreciated. However, the chicken left something to be desired. It appeared to be pre-cooked and reheated, with a texture that made it tough to cut and chew. The Southwest salad in particular lacked the expected fajita-style flavor; the chicken was plain and unseasoned, which fell short of what the dish name suggests. The Lakehouse Pub has a fun vibe and great potential. With some attention to ingredient quality and a focus on enhancing the flavor profiles of each dish, especially the proteins, it could truly elevate its menu to match the energy of its environment.

This place is phenomenal! My family and I stopped in for lunch and we were extremely happy with the service and the food. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had the best shrimp tacos of my life! I am a home chef and take my food very seriously…I’m still dreaming about them!!! My husband was also very happy with his beef on weck. The place was cozy and clean and just an absolute home run all the way around! HIGHLY RECOMMEND ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I usually go on Mondays when their roast beef sandwiches are 1/2 price. What an awesome meal. Get there early because it gets super busy. A hidden little secret!
Eric F — Google review
We went for a late lunch at 2 pm on a Friday. By that time the summer crowd was just beginning to thin and we were seated immediately. I ordered Buffalo chicken tenders which came with a side of fries. Although the chicken was plentiful, the over-cooked, dark-brown tenders were far from being tender. What made them just edible was the excellent buffalo wing sauce. The fries on the other hand were inedible. My guess is that they sat under a heat lamp so long they were dried out in the middle, limp, and only slightly above room temp when delivered. Our waitress was very busy and didn't check back with us after serving our food, so I wasn't able to point out the problem until the bill was presented and she noticed I hadn't eaten the fries. She apologized and kindly brought out an order of their excellent macaroni salad to go. My wife fared much better with a roast beef sandwich and a side of the macaroni salad. My feeling about this restaurant is that the kitchen does not practice adequate quality control and the wait staff are asked to cover too many tables, so your experience may be hit or miss. UPDATE-1: We had much better luck on our second visit to this restaurant during Skaneateles Restaurant Week. The french fries we're hot and crisp and the beef sandwich was excellent. Increased my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars.
N N — Google review
It was okay. A bit noisy and dark inside, and not an extensive menu, typical grub pub fare. We had the turkey club and some fries, and the dynamite shrimp. It was pretty decent, and came with a view of lake, as we sat up front. Quick service, and decently priced.
R B — Google review
In my whole life, I have NEVER had wings like this! These were unbelievable. Super crispy, while being saucy. Honestly the best Buffalo wings I have ever had. We were in town from Rochester for an overnight at the spa, but will certainly make a trip back to Skaneateles JUST for an order of these! Other than the wings, this place was super clean. The staff was friendly and fun. They were managing the capacity well and had dividers at the bar. It was a very comfortable outing for those that may be hesitant to get back out there.

Clift Park in Skaneateles offers a variety of experiences for visitors. From the park, you can embark on themed cruises with Mid-Lakes Navigation, such as the unique Mailboat Cruise where you can assist in delivering mail to remote locations. The park's waterfront location provides a picturesque setting with a swimming area and serves as the host for events like an annual antique boat show featuring fully restored boats from different eras. Additionally, visitors can enjoy evening community band concerts on summer Fridays.
I prefer Thayer for no particular reason, but Clift is absolutely beautiful. The lake, the boats, the ducks, the smells from the Sherwood Inn and Valentine's... there's a lot to love here. There are plenty of benches available for taking a load off and soaking it all in.

Small park with several benches or just bring your lawn chair and watch the boats come and go along with the birds... Bathrooms are in this park as well....

What a gorgeous view this place gives its visitors. The water look like pool water. I never seen one of these Lakes and I was thoroughly impressed. We were just stopping by so we didn't stay long but I would definitely come back and hang out in this cute town. The park itself was super clean very inviting. You're not supposed to bring any picnic items or pets but that's probably also why it was so clean. Definitely come check this place out if you're in the area I believe it's one of the only parks that face the water. But I'm not 100% certain

Very neat little park on the shores of Skaneateles Lake, complete with a swimming area, and two docks. The water is definitely a little choppy for swimming (at least the day we were there), so keep that in mind. This isn’t a beach, but the grass area is perfect for picnic blankets and beach bags. Nice little veteran memorial park and garden area with a fountain as well. Staff was friendly. Note that the public restrooms are not in the park itself, but down the street. There is signage directing you. Something to keep in mind if you bring a change of clothes to swim.

Patisserie, located in the Carriage House behind the Sherwood Inn, is a local favorite for its fresh bread and elaborate celebration cakes. It's known for its traditional bakery atmosphere and delicious pastries. The bakery offers a wide variety of flavors for cakes and fillings, allowing customers to schedule tastings to make their selections.
Grabbed a bunch of desserts and a stretch bread. The bread didn't make it home because we ate it all. It was so good and warm and fresh. This is like what my mom made when we were kids in Europe. It was delicious. And each dessert was so good. My favorite, and everyone in my family voted, was the blueberry cheesecake. I loved the raspberry and nut bar. Amazing place. I'm definitely understanding why people walk out of there with bags of bread.

I've been going to this bakery my whole life and the quality has never changed- they have my favorite bread in the world as well as top notch pastries. I'm writing this review because Mindy from Patisserie made my wedding cake earlier this month and did such an incredible job. She was so kind and easy to communicate with leading up to the event and delivered the cake seamlessly on the wedding day. The cake was gorgeous beyond our expectations and absolutely delicious! She also made gorgeous cupcakes for our guests in different flavors- we couldn't decide which was our favorite. Thank you so much Mindy!

First timer for an early dinner. Beautiful location. Clean place. Friendly staff. Good pricing. We tried two different pizza's and they were AMAZING. That was enough food for two adults and two children, but we smelled the french fries that were brought to the next table and we had to try them. Also amazing! And while we were full we also tried a desert ( just one for the table to share). It was simply amazing. These folks have their act together. This is a five star place no doubt.

Gilda’s is one of my favorite spots in Skaneateles. The thin crust pizza is light and full of flavor, and the arugula salad is always fresh and simple in the best way. My favorite part is sitting outside on warm nights with a view of the lake. It’s such a nice place to relax and enjoy good food.

Charming, small restaurant with a great feel. Small bar and only a handful of tables gives an intimate feeling and you can see into the kitchen at the corner of the bar. Nice wine and beer selection and a small but creative menu. Food sensitivities and allergies are listed clearly on the menu. Had the veal meatballs on the recommendation of a very friendly and good bartender, very tasty.

Elephant and The Dove is a well-known and admired restaurant in Skaneateles, New York. It is one of the best places to eat in the area, offering a diverse menu for lunch and dinner. Along with its sister restaurant, The Krebs, it resumed dine-in service in June 2023. Visitors can enjoy quality food and a friendly atmosphere at this popular dining spot.
SO GOOD that I ended up going twice in one week! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a charming mix of modern and rustic decor that makes you feel right at home. On my first visit, I tried their burrito bowl, which was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and the portion size was perfect. I also indulged in a Caesar salad, which was crisp and well-dressed, making for a delightful and refreshing meal. The second time around, I couldn't resist ordering a variety of appetizers, and each one was better than the last. From the perfectly seasoned calamari to the mouthwatering stuffed mushrooms, every bite was a treat. One of the highlights of my visits was definitely the presentation of the food. Not only did everything taste amazing, but the dishes were also beautifully plated. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures – they were just too cute not to share! Overall, The Elephant and The Dove offers a wonderful dining experience with its delicious food, cozy ambiance, and friendly staff. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special night out, this place is sure to impress. I can't wait to go back and try more.

Want to visit an upscale, classy, Mexican restaurant well......Elephant and The Dove located in Skaneateles, New York is the place for you! The inside is such a classy clean, neutral colors that are inviting. The second floor was my favorite as it has a large amount of natural light coming in. They have a basement for large private parties. They have seating for family like intimate dining. This restaurant feels like home! From the lighting that's unique to the wall art to the pillows on the chairs! There are two entrances one in the front that has an inviting home like cozy feel and then the back entrance that you can enter from the parking lot. The back entrance was a tad bit confusing to get to the main dining area however go through the front and exit out the back. The service was amazing. My server was prompt. She allowed me enough time to review my menu. She offered recommendations, and when I asked, for her honest opinion, she was able to assist me, and it did not fail. The food was amazing. I got the triple dipper which was a sample of salsa, guacamole, and queso. When I tell you, the guac was amazing with the right amount of garlic, and the queso was superb. It's making my mouth water just thinking about this appetizer and even the tortilla chips were the exact amount of salt and crisp. I got the Mexican mule to drink, which was an average drink. Nothing to talk about. My dinner was the burrito bowl and I got a side of Mexican street corn that was off the cob. The food was quick to the table. After ordering I cannot brag enough about how great the food was, and the service was great too! I highly recommend visiting Elephant and The Dove! I will definitely be bringing my family and friends here when they come to visit! To the owners you're doing a great job with food and service! I cannot brag enough about Elephant and The Dove!! Cheers🥂

Had an awesome meal & drinks with my wife! The vibe was great, the service was spot on, and the nachos were next-level—seriously some of the best we’ve ever had. Big thanks to Josh, the manager, who really went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. He was incredibly hospitable & made sure we had a positive experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Great cozy place in a little cozy town. The food tasted great. The triple dipper was good, and we liked the salsa and the guacamole dips. The California burrito was amazing and well made. Similarly, burrito bowl was also great, although slightly more quantity of fish and rice would be great over the salad. The French fries were crispy and good as well. The service and staff were great.

Found this little gem on our four day trip to the Finger Lakes region. Skaneateles was recommended by friends so we spent a few hours there shopping. Heading back to our car thinking we’d have dinner back in Ithaca we walked past the Elephant & The Dove and decided to pop in. From the moment we walked in the entire staff was so friendly and welcoming! Our waiter Ryan was amazing!! He did not rush us whatsoever and happily answered all our questions. He even explained how the name and decor were an “ode to Frida Kahlo”. So beautifully decorated and the food…the best!! The Mexican pizza appetizer was big and delicious, so much on it yet not too much - the flavors were excellent! My Beef Birria tacos and my husband’s Beef Rojo Enchilada were so tasty! Oh and btw on Tuesday yummy margaritas are $5!! This was the best choice to enjoy my birthday dinner and drinks! Would highly recommend to anyone heading to the Finger Lakes - make the trip to Skaneateles and The Elephant & The Dove you wont be disappointed! If I didn’t live four hours away we would definitely be regulars!!

The restaurant is super close to Skaneatles finger lake. We’d ordered quesadillas, loaded nachos, burrito bowls, and chimichangas. The food was amazing. The prices completely justify the portion sizes. Cleo our waitress was super generous and checked in with us whenever we stopped eating! At the end, we requested some extra chips and she was kind enough to get a full box of chips to go! Kudos to you Cleo! Thank you for being a great host during our time there!

Had one of the most disappointing experiences here. I spoke with a manager (I believe his name was Kevin) and was shocked by how incredibly rude and dismissive he was. We were simply trying to make a reservation a week in advance for a wedding rehearsal dinner for 7 people - yes, 7 people! And were told they “don’t take reservations for more than 6.” However, he also stated they can accept a walk-in for more than 7. Please make that make sense. We were genuinely excited to dine here, especially with family visiting from out of state, and had planned to showcase Skaneateles over the next few days. Instead, we were met with zero courtesy, zero flexibility, and zero effort to accommodate a small group. I’d understand if this was a party of 20 - but seven guests?! That’s hardly unreasonable. The lack of basic customer service was disappointing and unprofessional. And for a place that isn’t exactly Michelin-starred, you’d think they’d value business from groups eager to spend money. Clearly, they don’t. Shameful experience and we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.

Never thought I’d find the best Mexican restaurant in upstate NY! The salsa and chips are obviously homemade - the salsa is so fresh with just a little spice. The chicken fajitas were soooo delicious! The chicken was shredded which I usually don’t like but I don’t know how they season it but wow! So good! The interior design is also fabulous. If in Finger Lakes area this is 100% worth the visit!

Nestled in the historic Skaneateles village, The Sherwood Inn is a 19th-century establishment offering elegant rooms and a range of dining options. Located by the picturesque Skaneateles Lake, it provides easy access to charming old homes, galleries, and quaint shops. The inn boasts a restaurant, dining porch, and tavern along with the Bluewater Grill that offers scenic lakeview dining.
Beautiful and historic setting, a great place for a nightcap or a mid-day cocktail. We did not dine here, but sat at the bar and enjoyed a beverage and a view. The drink was strong, but delicious. I ordered a Manhattan, on the rocks, with bourbon, and it went down smooth. You could tell the bartender was well seasoned. It was a cool spot just to be in, what a wonderful gathering place. It is still an inn, so I recommend a stay there if possible!

I had looked forward to staying and dining at The Sherwood Inn for several decades. I was disappointed. The Inn is beautiful and well managed. I would not say the management is personable. The restaurant though full to capacity every night is not a place to go for great food or service. Reviews dating back several years and recently document these issues that have not been corrected. The wait staff is lovely but the care of their diners is weak and requires much more attentive management. The best meal we had was one morning when the executive chef was on site and made our eggs. They were the best eggs we ever had in our life. Clearly the potential is available with the chef, but in our three day experience was not consistently executed in every detail. It is a beautiful setting on the Lake so even if these issues are not corrected people will continue to come.

Had lunch there. Beautiful little town. Great old hotel. Meal was decent. Traditional berry desert was fantastic. Unfortunately, the wait staff services was "meh" at best. If you needed something, and the person isn't your assigned server, you'll get completely ignored.

Great place to go back In time! A lot of family history at this property. Brook at the bar tavern was super nice and hospitable. Rooms were comfortable. Front desk check out needs attention in the process. However, this is a place that will always be memorable. And don’t forget to check out cruising on the lake on the Ben Wiles.

Driving through the town and decided to stop for Dinner at the restaurant.. the view was nice over looking the lake.. staff was friendly.. food LOOKED good, how ever when you order a medium rare steak at $44 from what supposedly is a high end restaurant... You shouldn't have to send it back to be cooked from being RARE AND COLD. But hey they didn't charge for my one cup of coffee. Nice drive to take but pick a different spot to eat at.

Even though we arrived at 8:30 p.m. for dinner (with the restaurant closing at 9), the waitress was kind enough to accommodate us. I ordered the Black Angus burger with fries—cooked perfectly—with amazing New York pickles and crispy, well-seasoned fries. I also had the house salad with blue cheese. I’ve been coming to this restaurant since childhood, and it hasn’t changed a bit. It’s still one of my top spots whenever I visit Central New York

Visited the Sherwood Inn Tavern in July and August this summer and both experiences were disappointing. From the service to the food. The portions of food were cut in half. The steak sandwich was half the portion I received when I ordered the same meal in the early Spring, but the price didn’t go down. The potatoes were hard and lukewarm warm at best. The service was spotty. Both times had to inquire about our food several times and I went to the bar to get drinks because the first round took forever. Don’t plan on going back there any time soon

Extremely disappointed. We drove over an hour and twenty minutes for my mother’s 89th birthday lunch, only to be stuck in the very back of the restaurant — right next to the service station — on a quiet Tuesday in the off-season. The place was nearly empty, yet somehow we got the worst seats in the house. We asked twice to move and were flat-out told no because we didn’t have a reservation. The restaurant stayed half-empty the whole time. Only after the manager overheard us complaining did she come over and offer to move us — when we were already finished eating. By then, the damage was done. What should’ve been a special birthday turned into a completely avoidable disappointment. we should have declined table walked outside made reservation ask for nice table and walk back in problem solved learn from our mistake. Never again .

Rosalie's Cucina is a charming Italian restaurant located in Skaneateles, New York. The restaurant offers hearty Italian cuisine in a Tuscan-style setting, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for diners. In addition to the delicious food served on-site, Rosalie's Cucina also features a bakery that offers an array of pastries and pizzas for those on the go.
First, Rosalies has always been a place my friends and I love to stop to get a drink, share some apps, and always get a dessert. So I knew we had to bring all our closest friends and family here from out of town for our Rehearsal Dinner. BEST DECISION EVER. Service was outstanding, the process was simple, and the food never stopped (family style service). Everything was beyond delicious and we even had a couple compliments made that it was the best Rehearsal Dinner meal they had ever had. Cherry on top was getting to be in a gorgeous private room with all our family and friends who then all got sent home with the leftovers to enjoy all weekend! Thank you to all the Rosalies staff for such a greta experience!

Definitely a different type of menu. Had to read each caption to know what to order. I had garlic bread stuffed sirlion with a red sauce over it. Hubs had swordfish. Interesting place with writing all over the walls. It was a unique experience. Had the orange creme brulee - excellent dessert If you are looking for an experience for dinner and arent afraid to spend $$, its definitely worth the trip

If I could give 6 stars for the service, I would. The best service I have ever experienced. The food was fantastic, and we were served quickly, but we were not rushed at all. The bread was fabulous, and you can buy a loaf at the bakery before 8 p.m. The best chocolate cake I have ever ordered. I highly recommend and we look forward to visiting again. Thank you for a great night out!

Wonderful place to have dinner - with friends, business partners, family, even alone. Food is fabulous - I had a chicken dish and my friend had a beef dish. Our doggie bags were swans! So cute! Waiter was friendly, shared some of the restaurant's backstory. Great Italian food, wine was wonderful as well. Outside space is inviting, fireplace roaring when we left. Really nice place - will be back, for sure.

We live in Newfield NY but travel to Rosalie’s at least 4 times a year. We have never been disappointed. The food and deserts are excellent. The bread, of course, is such a treat when we sit down. Had an amazing late valentines dinner here last night. My boyfriend and I were very excited and it really exceeded our expectations! Hosting a large group can be tricky, but the team at The Krebs made it feel effortless. We came as a party of 11, and Luke took care of us with such professionalism and warmth. Every dish and drink exceeded our expectations—absolutely top-tier. What truly sets this place apart is the staff. They treat you like family, and it shows in every interaction. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is flawless, and the experience is unforgettable. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a special dining experience.

We had reservations but arrived a little early. We started at the bar which was excellent. The cocktails were delicious. We then were seated and the service was excellent. John did a great job. The food was okay. We got the scallops and the lobster risotto. The scallops were just okay. The lobster risotto did not have much flavor and the lobster was very tough. The service and atmosphere were excellent but the meal was disappointing.

A MUST EXPERIENCE! Ask for the wine book and be prepared for such an incredible selection. Sommelier was brilliant, down to earth, spot on recommendations, answered questions in a very approachable and welcoming manner. We sat at the bar and the bar tenders were attentive, personable, and well versed on both beverage and food menus, and just made our night perfect. Nothing was overlooked, and both were very detailed oriented. The chef and staff, just unbelievable. From the squash soup to the wild boar, the lobster risotto, the duck, and the lamb - each taste was spot on. Temperatures perfect. Desserts - order one of each so you can just appreciate the span of flavors. Be sure to check out the dessert ports and wines. Fabulous job! We were walking ins and were able to seat at the bar immediately. If you prefer the beautifully decorated dining room, suggest that you make a reservation.

First-time experience at The Krebs! First of all, I loved it. The food quality, music, interior, and staff were all perfect. I quickly understood why this place has such a high rating. For appetizers, I tried the bison tartare, and for the main course, I opted for the duck breast and bone-in beef—both were superb. I visited on my birthday and had left a note about it when making the reservation. Every staff member passing by greeted me with a happy birthday, and there was even a "happy birthday" lettering on the ice cream plate. Additionally, the overall vibe of the restaurant was awesome. The ambient lighting inside the restaurant was optimal, creating a luxurious atmosphere complemented by the music. I will definitely revisit and explore other items on the menu. Having experienced fine dining in many countries, I can say I am highly satisfied with The Krebs. The staff doesn't pressure you to order alcohol, unlike some other fine dining establishments, and they don't solely recommend expensive menus. While it may not be important to everyone, if I were to suggest an area for improvement, it would be the plating. I'm not sure if all the plates are plain white, but introducing other colors and enhancing the presentation with more intricate decorations could elevate the dining experience. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying their current style isn't fancy—it's just that there's potential for even more sophistication. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

The 2 gals working when we visited were so helpful and nice but the selection of ice creams was extremely meager. All the popular flavors were gone and we were told they would not be re-ordered until next summer. Who wants green tea ice cream? No one, apparently, because the container was full - untouched. It was pretty clear to us that they were just trying to get rid of the flavors that did not do well.

Leather goods store
Clothing store
The Local Branch Co. is a men's fashion retailer in Skaneateles that offers a unique blend of vintage and Americana styles. The store features a variety of leather jackets, casual coats, and distressed prints with top-notch visual merchandising. Customers appreciate the friendly service and high-quality merchandise, including cozy sweatshirts, books, and accessories like the Finger Lakes coozie. Additionally, online shoppers praise the easy ordering process and quick shipping for items like winter hats.
The Local Branch in Skaneateles, NY, is a charming store founded by husband and wife Blaine and Mackenzie Vossler. Established in 2009, the couple began their journey in San Francisco and later relocated to Upstate New York. When my sister Eliza brought me into The Local Branch in Skaneateles, I was immediately struck by the wonderful atmosphere. The shop was filled with the rich aroma of leather goods and freshly brewed coffee, a combination I wish I could carry with me always. The decor and the overall theme of the shop were right up my alley, reflecting a cozy yet stylish vibe that felt incredibly inviting. Eliza introduced me to her friends who were all wonderful, adding a personal touch to the experience. As a fan of fly fishing, I was thrilled to discover a whole section dedicated to it on the left side of the store when you walk in. It was super cool to see such a niche interest represented so well. I ended up buying three books and some cool stickers, which added to the charm of the visit. The Local Branch truly is a gem with its handcrafted leather goods, friendly atmosphere, and unique offerings. Products including leather bags, accessories, apparel, and a curated selection of goods from other local and USA-based artisans. Their offerings include everything from weekender duffle bags to small accessories like key fobs, all crafted with meticulous attention to detail. In addition to their retail space, The Local Branch also has a custom shop that specializes in creating bespoke leather items for events, businesses, and personal gifts. This includes custom leather handles, POS holsters, coasters, journals, and more, making it a great place for unique and personalized items.

Hey it’s your spirit animal (store manager with the buzz cut, septum and tattoos.) I’m from out of town and my friend brought me to Skaneateles to walk around and sight see. We stopped in the store originally, so she could find a gift for someone. I immediately saw the bag from the sidewalk and knew I had to have it. I told the manager I would be back. I needed to think about the bag and not be so impulsive. We walked around the stores for about an hour just to make sure I still really wanted the bag. I came back to the store, there were people standing in front of my bag. I had to control my urges to bark and growl to make them leave. ( so sorry.) As soon as they left I snatched that bag so quick. Come to find out, the bag was the last in the color and someone recently exchanged the bag for a different color. OBVIOUSLY meant to be. I bought a matching wallet as well because the Vera Bradley HAD to go. I was using a Hobo leather bag at the time. I bought the bag at a local business and assumed it was locally made. WRONGER THAN WRONG and the store manager probably thought, wow i hope this girl doesn’t vote. 😂 I did not catch the store managers name. They made the experience even better. I enjoyed a lovely conversation and accidentally made things super awkward. The bag is beautiful as well as the wallet/ purse I bought. The quality and design are absolutely incredible. 10/10. I usually try and give only positive reviews. The manager could’ve spit on me and I still would’ve made this review. (So sorry, again) 😂

I recently visited Skaneateles over Fourth of July weekend and stopped into The Local Branch for the first time, and I have to say, it was the highlight of my day. There are plenty of shops in the area, but this one stood out immediately, not just for its stunning aesthetic and branding, but for the quality of the experience itself, which was entirely shaped by Max. Max was warm, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. They spoke in thoughtful detail about the brand’s origin, the craftsmanship behind the products, and expressed deep respect for the company’s owner and their involvement. The ambiance of the store felt curated, intentional, and genuinely unique. The Local Branch created the kind of environment major corporate brands strive for but rarely achieve. But again, what truly set this visit apart was the rapport and great energy. As a seasoned NYC marketing professional, I can confidently say that experiences like this are rare — even in the most polished retail spaces. What impressed me most was Max’s ability to create a real connection without ever trying to sell me. I only intended to pop in for a quick look, but the rapport, the insight, and the welcoming atmosphere made me want to stay… and absolutely come back. When I asked about Instagram, Max had a feedback card ready without hesitation, a clear sign of someone who understands client experience and community engagement on a deep level. Max is an exceptional ambassador for The Local Branch and truly elevates the brand through this location and store presence. I’ll absolutely be returning next time I’m in town… and Max is the reason for that. You now have a brand-loyal customer, and I genuinely believe Max should be recognized for the outstanding service and client relations skills they provide. THANK YOU, MAX!

Love it here! It's great for staying away from most of the tourist traffic as it's less popular and has the best features of the downtown area lake front.

Very serene and beautiful place. Just sit down on a bench beside the lake and relax.

There's not much to it but I will say when you go to Skaneateles , NY you may want to go and sit for a while. There are a few benches on the edge of one of the most beautiful lakes in the United States. Lake Skaneateles is so clear and bright blue, and the small waves lap the shore while the breeze carries the sweat smell of clean country air. It is a great place to sit and contemplate life's many facets.

Tiny little park, but the best place in town to enjoy the lake. Has benches and a sturdy sea wall to wall on. Bring your lunch.

All was great. My husband was really enjoyed it our time in here. The scenery was pretty, the service was great, for the wine there was something he didn’t like but there’s one wine he enjoy it he bought one bottle home. Pizza was also good seems homemade. Nice place to hang out and chill.

This winery is part of Farm Fest & I had never been to a winery so, we went today. Gorgeous grounds, wonderful staff & the owner was so nice & informative. We were able to take a beautiful tour with the owner & learned how winery is made. From root to your belly! I thought it was very interesting!

This winery has an amazing view facing the Finger Lakes with a patio to sit, drink, eat and relax . It was my first time vising a vineyard, and I was impress, Beautifully manicured garden and a Relaxing Gazebo seating area to taste the local family owned wine. I had such a beautiful experience just walking through the grapevines and just tasting a few, from right off the vine.

The property and views are great. The sweet Riesling was my favorite, the reds I tried were pretty good.

Anyela's Vineyard is the gem of Vineyards in Skaneateles! It is also the only one I am aware of given the high cost of land in the area. This large vineyard offers some great views, a nice facility and the best reds I have ever had in New York State! All of the (4) reds I tried were amazing and unique. The whites were a hit a well and on par or better than most others in the region. We came at an off peak time of year, but we can see how this location would be packed during prime season. They have a jazz festival with attracts thousands of visitors each year. There is a specialty room (lower level accessed from outside) which is available for parties. Carter was our wine expert on our visit. From the area and knowledgeable not only about the winery but the lake and geography of the area as well. Who knew it is the finger lake at the highest elevation and boasts some of the cleanest water in the United States. He added interesting insight to our experience. We will return again! HINT: If you are looking for an excuse to visit the area (Summer concerts and live music along with a Charles Dickenson Christmas Carol events during the weekend (the later in town). The area is beautiful and somewhere worthy of checking out!

Good service, nice flight sampler of white wine and beautiful space indoor and out. We were able to enjoy a stunning fall day on the patio overlooking the lake.

Wow. Had a Red Tasting, every single wine would be my favorite if you added it to other tastings I’ve had elsewhere. Potentially the best Can Franc I’ve ever had. The Overlay was like a superhero blend, wild flavor, Shiraz mouth feel, and warm finish. Elation was so refreshing yet flavorful, and even the Noiret was delightful with its peppery finish. Also, the Chardonnay is absolutely the best in the Fingerlakes, seriously. The only Port I have enjoyed more was in the Douro valley. This place is a gem. Didn’t eat but the pizza looked and smelled delicious. Must visit.

Restaurant
Moro's Kitchen is a cozy Italian restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere located in Skaneateles, NY. The menu features traditional Italian dishes like pastas and pizzas, but also offers sushi, sandwiches, and barbecue with a French culinary twist. The restaurant is known for its rotating menu that always brings something new to the table.
Great food, but they can't serve hard liquor outside which is weird (old blue law, not their fault)

Placed and order for their online menu pasta and vodka sauce and two chicken Reggie’s and three garlic breads. They said they were out of Reggie’s so changed the order to two pastas at two garlic breads. I am placing the order to a person. When I pick up my order there are the two pasta orders a three pieces of plane bread . I asked about the garlic bread and they said they don’t make it. Yet they charged be $12 and the person taking the order never mentioned that. They finally said they would refund the money but the credit never hit my card. Good food if you sit down, do not take out. They do not care about takeout orders.

Whether you’re in a suit or a t-shirt, Moro’s Kitchen is your place! I recommend reservations (even for 2 people). The atmosphere is located in a beautiful stone building steps away from Skaneateles Lake. The food was excellent and the staff were more than wonderful! Leave room for dessert!

We made reservations for our anniversary and noted this on the reservation. We arrived 10 minutes early and when we walked through the door the hostess greeted us with a snoody “do you have a reservation?” When I said yes she said nothing else and walked us towards a table. She didn’t look back and clinked her pen on the table to let us know it was ours. Again, didn’t look back, greet us in anyway, or tell us someone would be over, no enjoy your meals.. nothing. The water on the table was warm with the ice all melted. We didn’t see a server for 10 minutes. Tables that were seated after us were greeted before us. Again we had a reservation. Finally when someone did come by there was again no greeting all she said was “what can I get you” so we ordered our meals and drinks. No mention of the specials, no introduction of who she was, nothing. We saw her again when we got our food and that was it. I’m baffled at the vibe the staff gave off. We felt out of place and nothing felt special at all. The food was great but the wait staff’s attitude left a bad taste in my mouth.

The Epitome of a Summer Moment. Ah yes, Good Eats and Sips, from bagels and bowls to coffees and this wonderful drink ( Under the Sea Lemonade ) , this is an absolute stand out restaurant. My advice, order on the Local app and walk across the street to Clift Park....and just savior not Just your treat but the "Moment"

I am simultaneously grateful and utterly disappointed in Good. I am so glad that Skan finally has a coffee/lunch spot where you can grab a bite to eat and meet a friend or use your laptop. Additionally they aim to have options on the healthier side. So awesome. But how in good conscious can you serve everything (including hot soup!) in plastic. You go and eat and your table is just covered in garbage. I always get an iced drink because there is conclusive evidence that "paper" to go cups are all lined with a polypropylene and are a huge cause of micro plastics when you drink hot liquid from them. YUMMMMM. Why can't we just drink beverages out of real cups and eat with real silverware plates like most of the world.? Covid is over. You don't have an excuse. Besides being bad for the planet (micro-plastics are a huge problem),its bad for my body. I know there isn't any competition here in our little town.... but I hope you can be internally motivated to be BE BETTER. Not just GOOD.

I got the Baang Salad and my dad got noodles. My salad was very nicely seasoned and my dad seemed to enjoy his noodles. Maybe a bit expensive, but around normal price for that kind of salad and I don’t mind as long as it has good ingredients and production. Nice staff, pretty good atmosphere. Lovely place. We went around 2 though, so it might be better to skip this place if it gets too busy, it seems like pretty minimal staffing, but there seems to be an online order system which seems nice to use. Also, there isn’t a tray return, apparently they’re just supposed to be left at the table.

My family members have been eating here and taking meals to go for four years, and we love it! There’s always something delicious for everyone. The food and staff are wonderful!

Wish this place was open later in the summer— such a perfect spot to grab food. I only wish the place was bigger. Skaneateles lake is 20 steps away so we get food for takeout a lot of the time and sit by the water. Delicious, healthy, and dietary restriction friendly. Only complaint is that it’s a little pricey but expected for the touristy area.

Nestled in a charming locale, Mandana Inn is a delightful culinary haven that promises an unforgettable dining experience. On my recent visit, I indulged in the exquisite escargot and Chicken Marcella, both of which were outstanding and generously portioned—definitely left me feeling satisfied! The owner exudes a vibrant personality and takes immense pride in her establishment, which truly reflects in the quality of service and food.
My first time there. Had the escargot. Excellent. Had the Chicken Marcella… Excellent ….. and there was plenty of it. I was stuffed when I left. Owner is what I’d call spicy. My observation is she takes great pride in her restaurant. And it shows. I saw a couple negative posts. There’s always one or two of those. Those folks should grab a glass of wine and relax a little. Take r easy for all us sinners.

Service was a bit slow on a Saturday night when I went, but was totally worth the wait. Ordered baked scrod. I was very impressed with the quality of food. Bread was also very and good ordered more for the table. Can also say my house salad was delicious.

We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer that were absolutely delicious. Chicken Anthony is one of my new favorites along with the Summer salmon entree. Open steak sandwich is always an excellence choice. I’ve always had a great dinner at Mandana. Staff is professional and friendly. Christopher is a great bartender who is always courteous and is a great mixologist!

I ate here tonight. I thought the meal was fine. I actually really enjoyed the thai calamari. The issue is after the meal, when the owner thought it a good idea to call my wife while on our way home to complain that we didn't tip enough under the guise of concern that we weren't satisfied with our meal. I tipped 10%, most of the bill was a wine bottle and a couple other drinks. I usually tip 20% on the non-tax bill, but that's not a given and it is usually 90% food. We ordered everything up front, no special orders or allergies or replacements or anything, made our server's job easy, and left without a hiccup. To repeat: I tipped 10% So I drove back, gave my server Krissy another $20 bill in person, and said a few words to the owner because it's pretty pathetic to call a customer like this. She walked me out rattling off different excuses for her trashy behavior "the menu said 20% tip!" (just... include it in the bill in that case?) "the wine bottle was actually underpriced on the menu and should have been more expensive!", and when I brought up never having been harassed for more money at other local restaurants like the Sherwood, she bragged "the Sherwood doesn't have this food". Classy broad. The best was when, as I was getting in my car to leave, she said to my wife from the protection of her porch, "your husband needs a pill!" So that's why I'm giving this place 1 star. It's not even on the water.

We have been going to Mandana Inn for years. We have always loved the service and the food. Tonight we waited over 2 hours to get our dinner😕! And for the first time in over 30 years it was NOT hot and it was way too spicy! Is there a new chef? So so dissatisfied

First visit last week and we will be back. Went with our besties and we all loved it. Seating area was a little dark but that's ok. There was a party going on and things moved a little slow but that's ok because we had catching up to do. Started with fried green tomatoes and meatballs, both were delicious. I had the baked scrod which was also great. The stars of the evening were the desserts. Piled high with whipped cream and tasty. Very reasonably priced meal as well.
