Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Watkins Glen State Park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. The park features rocky cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and stunning views from rim trails. Visitors can also enjoy trout fishing in the lakes within the park. Additionally, the area surrounding the park offers a variety of attractions including Watkins Glen International Racetrack, Taughannock Falls, Corning Museum of Glass, wineries, breweries, distilleries, and restaurants.
Such a beautiful hike. Being in a gorge like this is a one of a kind experience. Trails are excellently maintained and marked clearly. Staff at the visitor center were very helpful. The entire thing is under 1.5 miles, so you can explore all the trails and see everything this place has to offer in 1 day. Also seems to have a shuttle maybe just on weekends and it's a very accessible hike/ sights for all ages.
Alex W — Google review
Great views, fall colors at its peak. And no matter when you hike the gorge trail, it’s always wet and muddy so dress appropriately with hiking shoes. We ended up doing the gorge trail 3 times back and forth coz it’s so pretty. And then did the rim trail too taking the Jacob ladder 150-180 steps down to gorge trail again. Visiting here 10 years we felt there is a new construction happening. Infact the start of the gorge trail is blocked and there is a detour on the rim trail to get to the gorge trail currently. Parking lot is $10 day parking, which can be used in any other finger lakes state parks.

I traveled all the way from Canada just to see Watkins Glen State Park, and it was truly worth every mile. Visiting during the fall made it even more magical the vibrant colors of the leaves against the dark stone walls and cascading waterfalls created a scene straight out of a painting. Walking through the Gorge Trail felt peaceful and unreal at the same time. The crisp autumn air, the golden light, and the gentle sound of rushing water made it an experience I’ll never forget. Every corner was picture-perfect, yet no photo could capture how it felt to be there. Watkins Glen in fall is pure perfection calm, colorful, and full of life. I left with a heart full of gratitude and a deep wish to return again.
Talat S — Google review
Start-to-end stunning views and modest trail length on the 1.5 mile Gorge Trail make this a perfect family hike with younger kids. We brought a group of eight with four children under 10 and everyone loved the experience. It took about an hour-and-a-half with plenty of photo and snack breaks. The Gorge Trail is mostly stone and well-maintained. We took the North Rim Trail back and it was a lot less crowded than the popular Gorge Trail. Lots of steps make for a vigorous climb at times, but it was all manageable for our 6-year-old and 7-year-old. The many waterfalls keep everyone motivated to push forward, and the rock walls make for incredible scenery throughout. One of the best hikes I’ve ever taken.
Michael S — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park! The gorge trail is breathtaking with its waterfalls, stone bridges, and scenic views. Easy to hike, well-maintained, and full of great photo spots. One of the trails is closed for renovations. But there are plenty of other trails. It does get wet and muddy, wear good shoes.
Thomas Y — Google review
This place doesn’t disappoint! Beautiful waterfalls/foliage and well-maintained. I would recommend hiking shoes because it does get a bit wet/slippery on some spots. Lots of steps, but still pretty easy. Takes 1-2 hours done leisurely. Many spots to take a breather or to relax and enjoy the scenery. I’d recommend doing early and a day after it rains is best.
Kimmy — Google review
Visited Watkins Glen State Park during peak fall season, and it was one of the most breathtaking experiences I’ve had. The gorge trail is simply magical , waterfalls flowing through layered rock walls, colorful leaves carpeting the paths, and mist rising from the falls made it feel straight out of a postcard. The park was fairly busy, but completely worth it. The trails are well-maintained and easy to follow, though be ready for stairs (lots of them!). Every turn offers another photo-worthy spot. Parking was easy to find near the main entrance, and restrooms and picnic areas were clean. If you can, go early in the morning to beat the crowds and catch the sunlight filtering through the gorge, it’s unforgettable. A must-visit, especially during fall foliage season! 🍂🌊
San D — Google review
Absolutely great views. We went during first week of September, the part of the gorge trail was closed for construction so you need to come back in the same trail and will not be able to complete the loop. Water flow was also kind of less due to late summer but the views were great.

Delicious Homemade Ice Cream, Milkshakes & Vegan Options! The ice cream here is absolutely delicious – rich, creamy, and clearly homemade with love. Every flavor we tried was yummy, and the milkshakes were super tasty too – thick, flavorful, and refreshing. We were also really impressed with their vegan choices, which were just as delicious and thoughtfully made. The girl at the store was so sweet and helpful, patiently guiding us through the different flavors and making great recommendations. Her friendly attitude made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for a tasty treat, great service, and options for everyone!

Absolutely wonderful experience! The customer service was outstanding. The ladies behind the counter were incredibly friendly and generous, making us feel right at home. Their homemade ice cream is creamy, flavorful, and they even offer vegan options that are just as delicious. The shop itself is spotless and inviting. A true gem for anyone who loves quality ice cream and warm hospitality

There are new owners of this establishment. The lady who waited one was very nice. The building is handicap accessible as is the parking lot. Big parking lot on the right side of the building. There are lots of hard flavors, soft flavors, shakes, Sundaes, etc. There is indoor and outdoor seating here. You do go in the building to order.

This is a great little local ice cream shop that makes their own stuff. We stayed in an airbnb right across the street and were able to walk over one evening to try some ice cream. It's worth a stop if you are in Watkins Glen. Keep an eye on hours though as it doesn't stay open super late.

Best homemade ice cream several different flavors to choose from. Very nice friendly people. Clean , sometimes can be busy. Best place in Watkins Glen for ice cream and many more choices. They have several different types of waffle cones. Plenty of sitting areas. I truly recommend that you stop in if you're in Watkins Glen. Their located right off the main road. Down the street from Watkins Glen Gorge National Park.

The place was great!!!! Try their homemade coffee icecream. You can feel the natural coffee flavor, right amount of sweetness. Absolutely delecious. The service was fantastic, they allowed us to taste multiple flavors before deciding. Coffee and peach cobbler was great!!

Donut shop
Breakfast restaurant
Tobey's Donut Shop is a traditional diner-style spot located near the waterfront, offering a full breakfast and fresh coffee. It is situated in Watkins Glen, a village known for its popular Watkins Glen Gorge. The shop is a local favorite, often selling out of their classic and creative donut flavors before the breakfast window closes. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere away from the tourist crowds while savoring delicious donuts and hot breakfast items at this beloved local establishment.
Best hometown donut you will find. This is a local family run business that has been passed down through several generations. Skip the chain coffee store and give them a try. Your taste buds will thank you. Lots of freshly made donuts, coffee, and breakfast to be had here. Come on in and sit down to be served or get your breakfast to go. Everything from a full-blown breakfast to wonderful breakfast sandwiches. You will enjoy the quiet atmosphere of a small town and the friendly staff.

The food here is delicious! I had the western omelette with pepper jack cheese and it was arguably the best tasting omelette I’ve had. The homefries were nice and crispy and very tasty. And the donuts—of course delicious and you can taste the freshness. The vibe is very much like a diner with great and friendly service, and fresh hot coffee. Highly recommend!

We got here a bit late for the choices we really wanted, but we got some delicious options! He had a lemon filled that was amazing! I had a Key lime filled that was tasty. We also took a couple to go, a chocolate cake and a long jon that was filled with delicious fluffy cream! So good! Service was quick and friendly! A do-over!
Spunknit — Google review
Fast and attentive staff, they bring your choice of donuts to the table when dining in ($2.10 per donut). We savored cheese omelettes and a French creme donut (really good European style donut). Clean restrooms, parking on the street.

Loved this place. Donuts are delicious. I also had 2 eggs over easy with sourdough which was very good as well and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly. Cute inside and nice outdoor dining options as well.

We had an excellent breakfast with eggs corned, beef, hash and a sausage omelette but instead of the bread we had donuts! Everything was fantastic. Their donut selection is huge! But glad they also served other things to make a bit of a more filling breakfast. ☺️

We had an absolutely awesome breakfast here! Our waitress Kenzie killed it. She was super friendly and the only waitress there for the morning rush so it made her service even more impressive. We got the corned hash omelet and it was perfect. Also got excellent donuts. All around great!

Captain Bill's is a great tour operator for anyone looking to get out and explore the beautiful scenery of North America. Their staff is friendly and attentive, and their food is incredible. They also offer cruises on the lake, which are very relaxing and enjoyable.
My daughter and I did an hour long tour on the Seneca Spirit in the afternoon and LOVED it. Our guide, Dan, was extremely knowledgeable about the local history and geology of Seneca Lake. He made everything interesting and fun! We sat on the upper deck in the fresh and and sunshine. It was beautiful! Very calm, peaceful, and relaxing. We both agreed this tour was worth every penny.

We did an hour sightseeing tour over Labor Day weekend and had a blast! They are very pet friendly and allowed us to bring our two corgis. Very knowledgeable tour guides! Will definitely be back!
Melissa B — Google review
We went with a tour group and got a chance to eat lunch on the boat while we sailed around the lake and we had a great time! The view is incredible from the boat and the lake is absolutely beautiful and they tell you about things as you're passing them, which is really cool. The food was very good as well. They started with a salad, then I got the beef which was well seasoned and very tender. The gravy was very good as well. I also really liked the carrots and potatoes. I was particularly impressed by how well they did with one member of our party's dietary restrictions, which we really appreciated. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive the whole time as well. She was outstanding! We definitely recommend this boat tour!
Matthew L — Google review
A lovely small vessel right on Seneca Lake. The cruise was affordable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The tour guide was knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions along the way. The views were spectacular — including a quick glimpse of Hector Falls from the lake. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a relaxing mix of history and sightseeing.
Nilma Q — Google review
I have been on many boat cruises across the U.S. and around the world from Brazil and Italy to Australia and unfortunately, this was by far the most disappointing experience, especially at $125 per person. The food was the biggest letdown. The Prime Rib of Beef au Jus tasted flavorless, more like it had been boiled or reheated than properly cooked. The “Jambalaya” was nothing more than plain white rice with pieces of hot dog or what seemed like sausage, completely lacking spice or seasoning. The Surf and Turf didn’t include any real seafood or lobster, which made the dish feel misleading and disappointing. Overall, the food was horrific. In fact 3 of us had stomach issues the following morning and even now 3 days after one of us is having issues. The drinks were just as underwhelming; weak cocktails and an overpriced bottle of wine served in plastic cups. For the price point, guests should expect much higher quality. The entertainment didn’t improve things. The live music felt like the standard setlist you’d hear at a wedding, repetitive and uninspired. If there is going to be live entertainment, it should be a good mix of oldies and recognizable modern songs that engage the audience. Otherwise, a proper host to guide the evening and interact with guests would make for a better experience. The only highlight of the evening was the view: the beautiful lakeside homes, natural skyline, and sunset were truly breathtaking. We also felt for the staff, especially our waitress, who was kind and attentive. She asked us how everything was, but we couldn’t bring ourselves to be honest, as it was clear the poor experience was not her fault. Recommendations for Improvement: •Improve the food dramatically: a simple well-seasoned steak, grilled salmon, risotto, or pasta would be far better than what was served. Even a well-made burger would surpass the current menu. •Provide blankets for guests when it gets chilly on the water. •Rethink entertainment: either book quality live musicians who can deliver variety and energy or have a host to keep guests engaged. •Upgrade drink service: real glassware, stronger cocktails, and fairly priced wine are a must. At its core, this cruise has the potential to be a wonderful experience because the setting is truly spectacular. But unless serious improvements are made to food, drinks, and entertainment, it will continue to disappoint guests expecting more for the price.
Harry M — Google review
My husband and I did the sightseeing cruise on the Seneca Spirit! It was a very nice hour experience where you learn and see quite a bit from a different perspective! Obviously it is limited to only an hour so you will not get the whole history of the area or a whole tour of the lake but you get quite a bit in that hour! We also had a very knowledgeable guide on the upper deck who gave us additional information outside of what was being shared by the main tour guide! Definitely a good tourist attraction and a must do for a good general history of the lake and Watkins Glen area!
Elizabeth G — Google review
This was a very relaxing and informative Tour. The Crew were very professional and polite. The view was very gorgeous, couldn't believe how fast the time passed. Took a lot more photos, but I don't wanna spoil too much. Check em out 💯 !!!

Exceptionally delicious food. Great service and overall experience We walked in and put in our names for a table on a Friday 5pm summer evening, and got a table within 10min. server was super polite, patience and even suggested to us a drink (berry sparkler minus the bitter) and it was an amazing drink with dragon fruit We also got the tater tots with burnt ends - amazing, loaded with good food and enough for our family of 3 to share We also shared a brisket combo with beans + Mac n cheese and it was also delicious. Great sauces served at the table, too. We would gladly visit this place again.

Hubby and I had dinner here one night during our visit in Finger Lakes. Nice vibe, good service and pretty decent BBQ. The weather was nice on a Sunday evening and all outdoor seatings were occupied when we arrived, we were seated indoor with no wait. The drinks and food came out pretty quick. We opted for the combos which come with 2 sides. Hubby had the brisket & rib, and I got the brisket. The meat was flavorful and tender, a very satisfying dinner.

We stopped here while on vacation and we're so glad we did! The place was packed and we didn't have reservations but we were able to get seated within about 20 minutes. All of the staff were super attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and we loved all the BBQ/hot sauces we tried. We will definitely be stopping by whenever we're in the area again!

I was planning my brother’s bachelor party and wanted to get a catered BBQ dinner for one of the nights. I ordered a catered delivery for about 16 people and the food was a huge hit. The team was great in reaching out to me to confirm the order and the logistics. The food was delivered right on time and the brisket was still perfectly juicy and the tots perfectly crispy (and seasoned) considering it was about a 40min drive from Watkins Glen. Highly recommend if you’re looking to feed a large group a great meal.

I can't remember ever having better BBQ than I ate at Nickel's! The meat was so incredibly tender and the sauce with molasses was amazing! Drinks were tasty and our bartender Chris was awesome! She was super friendly and added to our experience.
Nicole L — Google review
Food was very good to excellent, but some serving sizes seemed small and poor service. Highly recommend the ribs. Perfect tenderness and no need for sauce. The 1/2 rack seems small. Cornbread muffin and dill pickle potato salad also highlights. "Smoked" wings were really good, but didn't detect any smokiness. Pig wings (fried ribs) were ok. We preferred the regular ribs. Ordered a la carte and $5 for a small side of fries was overpriced. Service was great at the beginning, but after ordering and receiving our food, which came out very quickly, our server didn't come back. We eventually had to wave her down to get the check. Nice outdoor seating, which allows dogs. Also nice indoor atmosphere.
Michelle V — Google review
Best bbq in town. They dont accept reservations, so if you have a large group, be sure the whole party is there or they won't seat you until they all arrive. Friendly staff, and you get generous portions for your sides. We had the whole menu and the pork and brisket combo. The whole menu comes with pulled pork, brisket, half rack of ribs, burnt ends, and the BBQ of the day, which today was half smoked chicken. You also get all 11 sides, which includes the premium sides. The collard greens were a bit salty, and we didn't care for the potato salad, but all the other sides were very good. The corn muffins with cinnamon butter were yummy. The whole menu costs $99 and will easily feed 5-6 people. If you go with the pork and brisket combo for $29, you get a large piece of brisket and a pile of pulled pork along with 2 sides. The combo is enough for 2 people. We added a corn muffin to the pork and brisket combo, and it was plenty for 2. They have a full bar and a nice selection of local craft beers as well as seltzer and other drinks available. Stop in and try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

I have been to Watkins Glen Porsche DE track events multiple time and this my first time trying this place. I sat at the bar and the ambience was festive. It was a Friday night and quite busy. I ordered the onion rings and brisket with burnt tips. Both were excellent and almost as good as Terry Black’s BBQ I had in Dallas. I will definitely visit again👍🏼👍🏼

Thai Elephants is an exceptional, authentic Thai restaurant with incredibly fresh and flavorful cuisine!! We ended up ordering Fresh Summer rolls and Drunken Noodles. Some of the BEST food I’ve ever eaten!!😋 I’m tempted to reorder another entire meal! 😂🤣😂 The fried ice cream was no exception either! A very cool presentation, with equally impressive and complex flavor! YUM!

Ordered takeout from Thai Elephant and tried the drunken noodles and shrimp fried rice. Taste was really good… fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. Definitely satisfied on the flavor side. The only downside is the portion size felt a bit small for the price, so it didn’t feel like the best value. Overall though, food quality is solid and I’d still go back for the taste.

Great Thai food in Glen Watkins. Definitely recommend this place. Service is quick and food so delicious. We had Tom yum soup, crispy chicken appetizer and basil Thai chicken fried rice. All of them sooo good. Also the prices are very good.

We wanted a break from the abundant American cuisine in the area and after hiking all morning through the gorge, we were ready for some Thai food. We came for lunch. I started off with the Larb salad which was fresh and flavorful, spice level is customizable. My partner tried it for the first time and really liked it. It’s light and healthy and I could probably eat this salad every day. We also got the fried tofu appetizer which came with a sweet peanut sauce. My go-to is tofu pad see ew pretty much every Thai place I go and Thai Elephants didn’t disappoint! My partner got the chicken pad see ew. We both left very satisfied, everything came out fresh, and service is efficient and friendly.

This restaurant has the best Thai Food in the area. Seating is cramped for groups greater than 4. We came with 6. We ordered the pineapple fried rice, drunken noodles with chicken and beef, panang and red curry, tom kha (coconut not spicy) soup w shrimp, and calamari. All the food was delicious and the pineapple fried rice stood out as the group favorite. The mano sticky rice was beautifully presented and we were lucky they had the perfect ripe mangos in season. A few comments on the food. The ratio of veggies to curry/meat/rice was off. There were too many veggies included that made it difficult to enjoy the rest of the meal especially for the curries. The restaurant is made for individuals and not family style. We wanted to share the options as a group and has to request extra items multiple times.

This is, without a doubt, the best Thai food I have ever had. Our party of eight thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic meal, sharing numerous delicious appetizers before diving into our individual entrees. My red curry with shrimp was simply outstanding – a true "wow" moment. Beyond the incredible food, the ambience was truly authentic and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. Highly, highly recommend!

We got two meals, tea, and their sampler app. Everything was great. The entree portions are reasonable but not generous. We felt well filled with the addition of the appetizer though. We would definitely go back

We tried the Thai Basil and Garlic Chicken at Thai Elephant, but unfortunately, it was way too sweet for our taste. Usually, Thai basil dishes come with chili in fish sauce, but they didn’t have that here, which felt a bit off. Half of the basil tasted like syrup, so we couldn’t really eat it. Definitely not what we expected.

Restaurant
El Rancho Mexican Restaurant is a must-try spot for travelers looking for delicious mexican cuisine. The restaurant has an atmospheric red and yellow interior, perfect for celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a casual meal with friends. The menu offers a variety of tacos, burritos, and enchiladas as well as margaritas and beer to keep customers sated.
Front door needs some good effort during the colder months to push open! The food was wonderful though after we initially thought they were closed due to the door not budging originally. We got rancho fries as an appetizer and the plate had enough to comfortably feed maybe 3 people so we have some delicious left overs. My wife got the empanadas and loved them and I got the choripollo platos. I would absolutely recommend these dishes and I look forward to trying more of their food.

Decent food. Large portions. Standard margaritas. Our server was great. Accidentally went during trivia night so we participated and had a good time. Will visit again.

Pretty shocked by our experience here. Incredibly slow service. Our waitress didn’t know what was in many dishes. Then our food came and my battered fish in my tacos were chopped up and cold. No sauce. I’ve never ever seen battered fish chopped up into tiny pieces. Kids Mac and cheese is kraft. I would avoid this place.

We went here for the lunch right after the Watkins Glen Hike. I am not sure if it was because of the crowd or they were short of people. But they took so much time just to even come and get our orders. The service took so much of our time. We ended up wasting at least 2 hours just to finish our lunch here. We ordered enchilada for the table

I rarely leave a 5 Star review. But this place was amazing. On a roadtrip and this is the best meal we have great, taking in consideration value, taste, service, and atmosphere. Seated quickly, instantly bowls of chips and salsa bought to the table. Quick drink service and food service. The meals were huge and very tasty. Our impossible to fill son was full. Really good pricing.

Horrible experience got seated at 6.05 and till 7:21 pm we dont have any food out. Lousy service and lousy server who has problem even repeating the order. I wish google had option of negative ratings. Stale and soggy chips. Worst tacos ever chewy greasy taco. Worst empanada stinky oil in which the empanada was fried. Will edit soon for more.

Probably, not the best Mexican food I've eaten, but definitely not bad. Appetizers were brought to the table without even us asking, and they were not free. That was a little different for us, but it weren't too expensive.

We had a wonderful time at El Rancho last night! It was packed and still, the wait time was not bad at all. The hostess didn't have a table for us right away, so we sat at the bar to order a drink. Andy, the bartender, was great! He's personable and funny and makes a wicked margarita!! We didn't wait long before the hostess came to bring us to a table. That little lady was hustling!! She was bussing tables between seating customers, helping things to move along. Our waitress, Morgann was quick and also so friendly. Our food was on point! We may try to get back there, at least for another marg before we leave Watkins!

Burger King is a beloved fast-food chain that specializes in grilled burgers, crispy fries, and delightful shakes. This particular location stands out for its friendly staff who are attentive to customer needs, especially when it comes to customizing orders for dietary restrictions like bun allergies. As someone who travels frequently for business, I appreciate the consistency and care this restaurant provides—it's one less worry on my plate! The atmosphere is clean and well-maintained, making it a pleasant stop during your travels.
This has got to the BEST burger king we've ever had and the attention to care when bagging your food is superior!! Top notch everything was HOT fresh were PERFECT! Wish they were like this back home. YUMMY!

We went through the drive-through for some croissant sandwiches and the lady who took our order was so friendly and professional really really took pride in her job and I was super impressed. I think everybody should take as much pride in their work as they say any job worth doing is worth doing well And she was awesome! The next time I’m in Watkins Glen, I’m gonna stop by here. I’m gonna have myself a sandwich and french fries really impressed. Keep it up girl!

Went and got food at around like 11:30 last night. Got the 2 for 5 deal, bacon cheeseburger no ketchup add tomato and chicken fries. Drove all the way home and my burger was loaded with ketchup. No chicken fries and I thought they gave me chicken nuggets instead but turns out they were cheesy tots. Couldnt eat ANY of it. Tried calling but the number online wont even work it says the person is unavailable. By the time i would have made it back theyd of been closed. Tried calling again this morning and still cant get through to them. Only thing they got right was my damn drink. About to just show up since theres no other way to contact them. The receipt was 100% correct but ALL my food was wrong. I was hungry and mad as hell last night🤣😭

Service was extremely slow, especially for it's location close to the state park and it being the start of Labor Day weekend. I'm not sure if it was due to limited staff or just inefficiency as their were several employees visible. I would like to compliment the young person who was taking the orders. He was very efficient and attentive. He kept his cool when he was dealing with a customer who changed his mind multiple times while placing his order.

What can I say! Coming from NYC, I’ve never had a burger that tasted this fresh. I’m so glad we stopped here after visiting the state park — it was absolutely worth the calories, lol!

Beware absolutely RUDE employee! My family of 3 Stopped in around 9:30pm on Saturday, September 6th. Door sign said they were open in the dining room until 11. Cool. We quickly received our meals after ordering and sat down in the dining room towards the back. The food was all delicious. We were halfway through eating our meals when a female employee came in and started snottily YELLING at us that we needed to move, she needed to mop, her shift was ending and she was going home in an hour. She yelled “that’s why those chairs are lined up!” We were initially appalled at her behavior, but started to get up to move to a different table. (Mind you there were no signs indicating the section was closed, there were some stacked up chairs, but 3 tables were available with chairs pushed up to dining tables still) As she walked away and was almost back to the kitchen area, she meanly yelled again “that’s why those chairs are there!” I then decided that my family would be finishing our meal at that table, we would not be moving mid way through our meal, especially after she was so rude. She came back a few minutes later, yelling the same at us again. (Wow, this woman needs a hug or something) I told her that we were almost finished, we would leave as soon as we were done eating, my Husband yelled back at her. A small scene was made. I finished eating and got up, walked over to her at the table she was wiping down and politely told her that if she had just asked nicely for us to move, instead of being extremely rude, we would have. I asked her twice for her name…thinking I could make an online complaint w/BK or something. She wouldn’t say her name…said “I’m just trying to do my job” and told me I could just go up front. OK. So I waited in line to ask for her name and the Manager’s name for my first time in 46 years. There was a Manager on shift who came and chatted with us about what we had just experienced. She was nice, apologized, and offered to compensate us for our meals, which we declined.

The wine bar Seneca Cheese Company is a small, but lovely building with simple local Faire decorations. They have a great selection of adult beverages, including beer, wine and mixed drinks. They were delighted to find them open for New Year’s Eve!
Great food and cocktails at the base of Seneca Lake! Service a little slow and inattentive, seems like they're understaffed. In any case, espresso and mudslide martinis are absolutely delicious. Food all fantastic - can't go wrong with Bavarian pretzel, tomato bisque and cheese toastie, or white cheddar Mac & cheese. Added the local sweet wine flight as well, very nice! Not to mention, I left my expensive sunglasses behind on the table and we left town before realizing and they promptly shipped them to me, really appreciate it!!

Great cocktail bar. Bartender, Ian, was interesting to talk to. Nice vib. Cocktails were good. Limited food, but was fine so long as you set expectations for just cocktails and a snack. Nice inside. Outside area looked really nice too, but it was brutally hot that day, so inside it was. Check this place out!

Rarely do I give anything five stars as most of my followers know. This establishment is just wonderful. The best cocktails. Tremendous choice of whiskey and bourbon. Apparently the garlic pizza 🍕bites and tomato bisque 🍲 are the thing here 😋 It's a great idea to have a cheese shop located right in your bar! Wine and cheese,🧀 cocktails 🍹and charcuterie.🧆 I only recently experienced this in Singapore earlier this year.🤩

I am a bourbon collector from Florida and literally just stumbled upon this place. If google allowed for a 7 star review I would leave that. Met the owner and honestly I am extremely knowledgeable until I met him. I could have just sat and listened to bourbon stories with him for days. This place is the real deal with an insane collection and great people. Has a few small snacks so plan a dinner afterwards. If you enjoy bourbon this place is a must visit.

Watkins Glen International is a renowned road-racing venue featuring a 3.4-mile course that hosts various events, including NASCAR races, the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, and the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix. The raceway also offers tours for fans to experience the thrill of the track firsthand. Visitors can enjoy wine and beer festivals, vintage grand prix races, and concert weekends at Watkins Glen International Racetrack nearby.
A Rocky Start Turned into an Unforgettable Weekend at The Glen! Don't let our initial troubles deter you from visiting Watkins Glen for a NASCAR weekend—it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Our trip started with a significant hiccup: we arrived to find another group had mistakenly set up in our reserved camping spot. The situation was complicated, as resolving it would have meant asking twelve other campers to pack up and shift their sites. Just when we thought our weekend was off to a terrible start, the track staff stepped in and demonstrated what true customer service is all about. They were incredible. While it took about two hours to sort everything out, they went above and beyond, ultimately setting us up with an amazing track-side camping spot that was even better than our original one. Once we were settled, the weekend was perfect. The event itself, the iconic track, the energy of the fans, and all the surrounding festivities were simply amazing. If you're a NASCAR fan, I can't recommend this trip enough. Mark your calendar for the Watkins Glen race weekend—you're guaranteed to have a great time.

"The Glen" is the best. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was camping and found the toilets and showers well maintained and supplied. Free pump-out is an added bonus. Grounds are well kept and I smiled when I saw more than one attendant pick up litter instead of walking by it. Shows pride of place. There's a new convenience store that had all my camping needs. I was there 4 days. I dropped one star because, being my first visit I was unfamiliar with the camping spot numbering system, but figured it out. Also, the maps that are placed throughout the venue don't show, "You are here." Still, I feel I will be returning yearly. Great venue, great time.

This was my first time at the Glen & I was very pleased with my visit for the IMSA 6 hour race. They allow dogs in certain areas so it was nice to bring my pups with me along the ride. The whole place was clean and everyone was very kind. You have access to so many areas of the track which is surprising considering many other places require pit passes to see certain things, but it was all included with GA tickets. Overall wonderful time & awesome track to watch the races!

It's been a while since I been here.. I noticed some upgrades!! They were nice to see.. bathrooms were kept clean....I was however disappointed in the fact that the seats my wife and I had were sticky from soda or beer from the race before.. we had to go spend $15 each for two seat cushions so we could sit. There was trash all over the stands aswell.. maybe they were short staffed and couldn't clean it all... also Nascar's rules definitely has changed the sport.. but still overall was an enjoyable day

Watkins Glen is awesome! NASCAR weekend is great but there's much more to it. You can drive your personal car around the track on certain weekends. They host vintage weekend, Ferrari challenge, Transam, vintage and many more! It has racing for all types of fans. Beautifully taken care of, friendly staff, it is one of the best tracks in North America to attend. Located near many other attractions such as the gorges, waterfalls, and wineries even non racing friends will find a place to enjoy in this area. What are you waiting for?
Nicholas S — Google review
Great raceway! I recommend bringing headphones to listen to the race. You’ll only see your turn and it helps to keep up. We were very close to the cars so never missed a pass. We got right in, showed up 2 hours early. They have a lot to keep you entertained. Expect about an hour to get out though.
Francis A — Google review
Watkins Glen International Raceway was an amazing track to go to. I had never been to a road course race before, and I was excited to see what it had to offer in person. The merch haulers had many wristband free autograph sessions for the fans to get. I bought the pre race pass thinking I would be able to get into the red carpet walk, but I was not allowed. I was able to stand on the track during driver intros near the stage and got 15 autographs that way. Sat in turn 1, and got to see some good action with the pair of spins from Larson and Hocevar, to contact not even shown on TV. It all wrapped up nice after the short race with a Shane Van Gisbergen burnout right in front of me. Highly recommend buying the pre race pass and standing right off the stage steps during driver intros. You have to get there pretty early to keep your spot. Unlike Martinsville, it wasn’t crowded and most of the drivers took their time to sign merchandise (until the rope broke then it got crazy). Food there was pretty nice too, definitely a track that’s worth the drive.

Just OK. As an out-of-town visitor, I try to support local businesses. The generic interior decor is off-white bland - could use a splash of color plus something that "pops" (even just large plant groupings would help). On the plus side, the large plate glass windows allow lots of light & views of street traffic. And the drip coffee was hot & strong. Pastries were just OK.

We visited here with high expectations that were quickly dashed. When their web site of a bakery says "With a variety of Gluten free and Vegan sweets always available." We expect fresh baked gluten free pastries, not a prepackaged mass produced brownie. When looking at GF bread for a sandwich, again, mass produced GF white bread. Not what I expect when the web site reads "Any sandwich in our deli can be made Gluten Free." If you are using bagels for breakfast sandwiches, offer something comparable that is GF. I will say that the regular coffee and Latte were very good. The shop does have good wifi.

This was a cute small town coffee shop with great fresh bagels and excellent iced coffee. The staff were friendly and the environment was charming. They make their bread from scratch in house. Seneca Harbor Station is a charming American eatery located in an 1876 train station, offering stunning views of Seneca Lake. The restaurant features a mahogany bar and beach patio, creating a perfect setting for lakeside dining with a nautical flair. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the lake and Watkins Glens marina while indulging in a diverse menu that includes seafood, steaks, and regional specialties.
Very friendly service stood out, as well as the outdoor seating with a nice view of Seneca Lake. Lunch was good, as we chose a salad and a burger, which was big and juicy. Menu was extensive with something for everyone, and they also had a large drink menu featuring local wines and beers. A little pricey but expected given the location and in a touristy area.

Nestled on a scenic hillside overlooking Seneca Lake, Castel Grisch Winery is a unique property in central New York. The winery and tasting room are set on 200 acres of land with over 40 acres under vine. Founded by a Swiss family, the location was chosen for its resemblance to their native Switzerland. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings ranging from dry to sweet varieties and take in the picturesque views from the veranda.
Had an amazing experience at this winery in Watkins Glen! The atmosphere was beautiful and the wines were rich in flavor. A special thanks to Christine, our server, who was incredibly warm and knowledgeable. She patiently explained the winemaking process and the unique characteristics of each wine, making the tasting both enjoyable and educational. Every sip was memorable — highly recommend visiting! 🍷✨

We visited Castel Grisch Winery this weekend for a planned wine tasting, and to our surprise, it coincided with a hot air balloon event! The atmosphere was lively with live music, delicious food, and fun local vendors. We had the pleasure of meeting Christine, who was so friendly and generous in sharing their famous Riesling. We loved it so much we brought a few bottles home. The winery itself is in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake — truly picture-perfect. Between the wine, the views, and the festive event, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. If you’re in the Finger Lakes area, this is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy a glass (or two) of their amazing Riesling.

Beautiful winery! Gorgeous outdoor deck with amazing views of the foliage in October. They have interesting decor which is so fun, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We got the sweet wine flight and mixed wine flight for $15 each, which was wonderful. My favorite was the Vivacious Riesling, Seneca Dream Red, and Seneca Dream White (literally tastes like grapes from the vine). The owners and staff are really friendly and warm as well! Also very convenient to get to from Watkins Glen. Highly recommend coming here if you’re anywhere around the area!

Quirky entrance with a great view! The service was okay, and the seating was comfortable. I ordered a drink with elderberry in it — it tasted wonderful. If you’re spending a weekend or vacation around Watkins Glen State Park or the Finger Lakes region, this spot is a wonderful place to stop by for half a day. Nestled among scenic views of the lake, vineyards, and rolling mountains, it offers the perfect setting to relax and recharge. Sipping on private-label wines from CG Winery while listening to gentle classical music creates a peaceful and refreshing experience. The ambiance is calm and elegant, ideal for unwinding after a hike or sightseeing. For families, the lanterns park at the entrance is a delightful touch—an inviting space where kids can explore and enjoy themselves while adults savor the atmosphere. Whether you’re a wine lover, nature enthusiast, or just looking for a beautiful place to relax, this destination is well worth your time.

Parks
Nestled in the charming town of Watkins Glen, Clute Memorial Park & Recreation is a delightful destination for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. This expansive 35-acre park offers a seasonal campground with options for RVs and tents, making it an ideal spot to immerse yourself in nature. With its proximity to the stunning Seneca Lake, visitors can enjoy breathtaking sunsets while relaxing on benches or piers. Clute Memorial Park features a variety of amenities that cater to all ages.
An awesome gem in the middle of Watkins Glen and wine country. Skip the KOA prices and distance and come to clute memorial! Craig at the front desk was incredibly helpful. Everyone that worked there was delightful. They kept the bathrooms clean which was great. There were some small spiders and mosquitos but that’s expected. My only issue was the doors lock on the inside of the family/accessible bathrooms but when you leave you can open them while locked and easily forget and pull it shut and lock it. That happened while we were there that someone locked it and we had one less bathroom. The campgrounds were level. You are right across the street from playgrounds and walking trails and Seneca lake. About a mile from town and can walk to it easily. Walmart is right next door, too, so easy access if you forgot something. The prices can’t be beat and being that this is also a seasonal campground people take great pride in it and care for the area.

I appreciate the online registration, but the camping is small, the lots have little to no trees, the facilities are full of spiders and bugs- clearly not cleaned or dusted regularly. For $100 a night, I expect more from the amenities- and facilities. However we did very much enjoy the level parking and gravel for our pull through.

RV and some tent camping with access to boat docking, swimming, softball park, playground , splash pad park and beautiful views of Seneca lake! Price to tent camp is more expensive than your local state park with less trees for shade.

Clute memorial Park is a spot I come back to frequently. They have tent and RV spots, and plenty of parking. They cater to boaters as well. If you camp with dogs, this area is super friendly for your canine. Even the Walmart, not far away, allowed dogs inside, as do most of the wineries and distilleries. This park is a short walk from Watkins, Glen State Park, many restaurants and boat rides. The office is always very friendly, and there is good, clean facilities for showering.

Campground is convenient to Watkins Glenn SP, but the sites are gravel and weeds, no laundry facilities , and the bathrooms are disgusting!!! They leave the doors to the bathroom open all day & night, vagrants use the bathrooms, they are not ADA compliant (there’s no wheelchair stall), a wheelchair cannot fit into the shower area, there’s hundreds of bugs all over the toilets, floors, sinks, etc.. The sanitary napkin disposal boxes have not been emptied, and there are spiderwebs covering the ceilings, windows and in every corner. The lights are filled with 1,000’s of bugs! The majority of sites are permanent residents, and they’ll tell you that their rent keep going up, but no improvements are being made. For almost $100/night, you don’t get your monies worth!

Nice park on the lake plenty of parking and it had a fast charger for my EV got lunch ate at park while car charged .i like hiking at Hector National Forest and the chargers simple to use

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours to cool off from the afternoon summer sun. Water was shallow enough to easily walk in and enjoy the lake views. Family friendly area. Wear water shoes!

It’s convenient and in town. Mostly shaded campsites. I am basing my review on the expense versus what you get. Bathrooms not clean my entire three days there. They’re antiquated they do not have Laundry on site for $90 a night. You would expect the bathrooms clean and at least laundry mat on site

Clute Memorial Park

Park
Clute Park, located at the southern tip of Seneca Lake, is a modern park offering a variety of activities for families. During the summer, visitors can enjoy swimming with lifeguards on duty, playground areas, and a skateboard park. The park also hosts the annual Italian-American Festival, providing entertainment for all ages. In the winter months, weekly ice skating is available while in the summer, the ice rink area transforms into a spray park.
Clute Park Review – Watkins Glen, NY As an avid traveler who thrives on discovering small-town charm and scenic gems, Clute Park in Watkins Glen, NY was a surprisingly serene stop during my recent visit. Nestled right on the southern edge of Seneca Lake, the park offered more than just open space—it was a visual retreat that combined natural beauty with a touch of local history. The views of the lake were breathtaking, especially as the sun danced on the water’s surface, making it a perfect spot for photography or a reflective pause during a busy travel itinerary. One of the most captivating things about Clute Park is how seamlessly it blends recreation with tranquility. I wandered along the waterfront path, where locals and visitors alike were enjoying everything from casual strolls to lakeside picnics. The playground and splash pad were full of laughter, while the open spaces gave families room to spread out and enjoy the fresh air. After spending time by the water, I explored the small downtown area of Watkins Glen, which is just a short walk away. It’s full of charming shops, cozy cafés, and friendly locals. Fun fact: the Corvette idea was actually “born” here in Watkins Glen, giving this scenic little town an unexpected place in American automotive history. Between the vibrant local flavor and Clute Park’s peaceful lakeside setting, this stop became a memorable highlight of my Finger Lakes journey. Highly recommended for nature lovers, families, and road trippers alike.

Cute , amazing , well maintained , clean restrooms , play area for all ages of kids , small snack shop at site, amazingly located to view the lake and enjoying the park. Picnic tables are placed all over the place. Parking is free , easily accessible for people travel to Watkins glens and wanted to take time to refresh , can stop here.

Such a lovely spot. Its right on the lakefront, has a swimming area in the lake with lifeguards, a splash pad (in the winter ice skating), multiple playgrounds (one that is ADA friendly!), fishing areas, kayak launching. This park literally has something to offer for everyone. There is a large area to fly kites, pavilions to rent, and picnic tables that are first come, first serve. They also have a skate park and a food hut!
Manda J — Google review
Great park! Lots of parking here. Wheelchair spots also. During peak summer season they do charge. As of this writing it is $8. You can go to the park office and buy a seasonal pass for around $50. There is a splash pad and a swim area with a life gaurd. In winter time they turn the splash pad area into an ice skating rink. There is a walking trail all the way around the park. It is gravel in some areas and paved in others. Big new beautiful playground that is designed for people with special needs. On one end is a small skate park with ramps, etc for skate boarding, roller blading and that sort of thing. There are lots of picnic tables and benches. A few small pavilions that are first come first serve. Usually in the summer there is a small booth with a food vendor. In the summer they do 4th of July fire works and in Ausut there us usually an Italian festival.

I've been coming to Clute Park my whole life. So much work has been done to the park! New playgrounds with accessibility for children's of all abilities, new benches, tables, buildings, splash pads. This is a wonderful place to spend some time with your loved ones, walking your pets, or even for some solitude. There's nothing that beats the sound of the water as the waves touch the rocks.

Neat park with a great concessions stand. You can swim, swing, rent kayaks, grill and walk the paved path. Situated at the bottom of Seneca Lake it is a very cool place to spend some time.
Sarah P — Google review
Very large park with multiple playground spots, many shade trees, picnic benches, and charcoal grills, a small sandy swimming beach (shallow, with lifeguards), a dog beach, restrooms, snack shack, and splash pad. This becomes an ice skating rink in the winter. Excellent place to view the sunset.

Beautiful beach at the tip of the lake with plenty of space to wander and enjoy the scenery, very clean, several buildings for functions and gatherings, an expansive playground, and well kempt electric car chargers make this a destination my family and I will be visiting every chance we get.

Restaurant
Graft Wine + Cider Bar is a small yet impressive restaurant located in Watkins Glen, offering a fine dining experience with a diverse menu. The bar features an array of local wines and ciders to complement the dishes. While it may be on the pricier side, it stands out as one of the best dining options in town. The establishment serves creatively prepared food items like cheese plates and charcuterie trays using locally sourced ingredients, alongside heartier specials.
Our food was delicious and the service was excellent! I had the 1/2 chicken. It was so fresh and tender. My husband had the trout. It too was perfectly cooked and dressed. We shared the beet salad and we were surprised at the perfect balance of flavors Highly recommend!

Walked in on a Thursday around 7:30p and we able to be seated right away at the bar or countertop. They have a great selection of beer, wine, and cider - all locally sourced. I order the duck special and I thought it was excellent. My partner and I split the tomato salad which was also delightful. We ordered a bottle of Pet-Nat from Atwater which was also delicious. I think this is an excellent date night spot or somewhere to celebrate a special occasion while in Watkins Glen. Would absolutely return.

Our favorite spot for dinner in the finger lakes! No matter what dish we get, we’re always impressed. We always start with the green salad — it’s always so fresh. Other favorites include the mussels and the hanger steak. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly as well.

The Best Meal of Our Trip We were looking for a nice spot for lunch, and ChatGPT suggested a list of places — this one was at the top. As usual, my husband didn’t wait for the rest of the list and had already parked in front of Graft Wine + Cider Bar. The exterior was lovely — probably even cozier at night with all the lights. Inside, it was clean, welcoming, and full of charm. We were the first ones after the lunch break, but soon after, a few more tables filled up. We started with green peppers (I don’t recall the exact name from the menu — shishito, maybe?). They were delicious! Then came a big bowl of fresh greens with beets and goat cheese — so good! The trout was also fantastic, served with quinoa and a carrot-ginger slaw. Every bite felt thoughtful and fresh. My husband enjoyed a glass of Riesling from their local selection. I went with a non-alcoholic Cosmopolitan — but ended up spilling the whole thing! The waiter was kind, helped clean up without a fuss, and at the end told us they didn’t charge for the drink. Such a generous and thoughtful gesture. I also want to mention how much I loved the plates and glasses — beautiful and carefully chosen. You could feel the care in every detail. I really appreciate the farm-to-table concept and their support of local wineries and cider houses. On the drive home, we read some of the reviews and were surprised to see a few negative ones. It’s honestly upsetting how unfair they seemed — some people must have walked in with impossible expectations or were just in a bad mood. Our waitress was amazing: warm, attentive, helpful, smiling — and she even recommended a spot for ice cream afterwards. I wish more restaurants were like this one. Thank you! You truly made our day.

Food was good. Tried monkfish for the first time. It was good. Duck was good. We sat at bar.
P D — Google review
Wonderful, wonderful space. The food was top notch (seriously, try the duck, as others have pointed out) and the service was so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere was pretty cozy and laid back, the type of place you could go feeling casual, or maybe get dressed up and make a nice date of it. The seating options lent themselves to this casual feel, being able to sit at a ledge near the bar, for example. Great selection of local wines, too. Highly recommend.
Samuel F — Google review
There is no one at the door to seat you and it is mostly bar seating. The window seating is set for large groups so one must take a seat at the bar. The restaurant is very dark. In this case there was no greeting and while there was staff and only two other sets of customers and a nearly empty restaurant, no one approached me for over ten minutes. It was so long that I began to look for another restaurant on my phone. I wish I had left. When I ordered only a Saratoga Springs sparkling water, the server looked displeased. The bread and salad were set down together so that I had to eat the bread while staring at the salad. While I ate my salad, the main course was set down and I got to eat my salad while staring at the main dish. The salad is a very large bowl of lettuce piled with nuts and some anemic thin slices of beets. It couldn’t have been more boring. I hated the main dish, a piece of trout over gross tasteless, weird purple noodles and tough kale. I watched as a friendly, personable server approached the couple sitting next to me in a timely manner offering to change the set and seafood so I could have chosen the mashed potatoes set with my trout, a much better set that would have been enjoyable. Why is anyone still putting kale on a plate. It is tough and tasteless. Potatoes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower are all wonderful vegetables. At least the trout was cooked nicely. The dessert was a flavorless coffee cake and a saccharine sweet coffee sauce that didn’t taste like coffee. It was much too sweet. The small dollop of whipped cream cut the sweetness but one had to use it sparingly. When I told the server it was birthday when she checked in with me, she wondered out loud about putting a candle in my half eaten coffee cake. She might have known it was my birthday if she had taken any interest in her guest. Do not recommend this restaurant.

We were glad that we found this modern restaurant in Watkins Glen. Food were excellent using local ingredients and same to the wines. It was busy night but we didn't wait too long for the dishes. Servers were friendly and checking with us to ensure everything were satisfied. We tried the dessert and they were perfect. Stronger recommend this restaurant!

Restaurant
Blue Pointe Grille is an upscale restaurant located within the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, offering a polished and elegant ambiance with scenic views of Seneca Lake. The restaurant serves classic American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring steaks, seafood, pasta, and elevated American fare. Its spacious patio provides a beautiful view of the lake and is dog-friendly. The interior boasts carpeted floors, brick pillars, luxurious seating, and an elaborate wood-paneled bar for a cozy dining experience.
This restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere after a long day of wine trail touring. There is a wide selection of meal offerings and adult beverage selections. After dinner, we stopped into the bar for some enjoyable conversation and fabulous drinks from the superior mixologists.

Blue Pointe Grille is an American restaurant serving up a variety of dishes, such as salad, dessert, and drinks. The staff are friendly, they are able to make many different kinds of drinks and able to suggest a wide range of food that stands out on their menu. The food was good. The salad had a nice range of toppings and they all went well together, though the flavor wasn't as strong as I hoped. For the price the food was good, portions were decent and overall is a decent experience.

I have so much to say about this establishment. First and foremost the atmosphere is wonderful. It’s warm, comfortable and gives that “welcome in” vibe. The wait staff and hostesses were not only friendly but very knowledgeable in regards to the specials, promotions and suggestions in food items. The dining experience was amazing. The Seafood Scampi was absolutely phenomenal. Scallops and Shrimp were cooked perfectly, not too much or too little acidity and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The appetizers were great and served within a timely manner and the wine collection was also quite extravagant. The chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting couple perfectly with a cup of coffee. Overall, we had an absolute amazing experience and we had a wonderful time! Would return 1000%

We stayed at the hotel so this was very convenient for dinner. There was no wait and we were seated right away. There is a beautiful outdoor seating option as well. It does feel like fine dining. I had the calamari app and lobster ravioli. That was all delicious. Also - the bread and butter variety they serve when you’re seated is VERY GOOD. My drink left much to be desired. I ordered an extra dirty vodka martini. It was all vodka and some olives.

Blue Point Grill was absolutely amazing. Everything about it—from the food and drinks to the atmosphere and service—was excellent. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and offers a view that simply can’t be beat. Sitting right on the lake overlooking the marina and yachts creates a perfect backdrop. The outdoor setup is especially impressive, with multiple fire pits and comfortable seating where you can relax with a drink, such as a great spicy margarita and take in the scenery. The menu is fantastic, offering high-quality options for both lunch and dinner, along with a great drink selection. We came here after our hike for drinks, and it was the perfect choice. The atmosphere, friendly service, and relaxing music made it a highlight of our trip. If you’re looking to unwind after a day of hiking in the park, or simply want to enjoy a touch of lakeside luxury with excellent food and drinks, Blue Point Grill is the place to go.

The staff was professional. First time dining here on 10-11-2025 very relaxing and quiet! People were respectful and it was quiet. We loved it! Fast food restaurant
Arby's is a beloved fast-food chain that has carved out a niche for itself with its signature roast beef sandwiches, which are crafted from slow-roasted, thinly sliced beef and complemented by an array of sauces and toppings. Founded in 1964 by Leroy and Forrest Raffel in Boardman, Ohio, the name "Arby's" cleverly derives from the initials R and B for Raffel Brothers.
"Surprisingly good chicken burgers at an affordable price. Their value deal with 2 burgers for 6 dollars is cheap. The staff member was very friendly and accommodating."

3 of were there 20 minutes to closing 4/1/25. We had skipped lunch so we spent around $30 for the 3 adults. We asked the staff if we could eat there because we knew it was getting late. They were totally accommodating. They even brought out a small trash can for us to use so they could make sure the trash got out for the night. They were great and the food hit the spot. Thank you.

This Arby's in Watkins Glen NY has to be the worse one ever. The assistant manger told me I couldn't order the wrap the way I wanted it with turkey and roast beef. She refused to make it. Even after I explained to her that not only could she but that they have several times in the past. The last time they wouldn't make it I called Arby's corporate office and they told this Arby's as long as I paid for the extra they could make it. So I had to call corporate yet again. She was the assistant manager and has worked there 5 years how does she not know her job yet and how is she an assistant manager?

Simple rooms with lake views in a casual motel featuring Italian dining & an outdoor pool.
I’ve been coming here for many years. The new rooms are significantly nicer while retaining that mid century feel. But there are a few things to improve. I think leaning into the Motorsport history just a little bit more would help, even small things like using the original room numbers. The restaurant decor especially felt just a little sterile and a repave of the parking lot would be nice. And although the deck is okay, I’d love to see the pool re-open. Maybe someday they could even re-open the tennis court…. But the views are incredible and it’s less than 15 minutes to the track which is hard to beat.

This completely refurbished motel offers a step back in time with its mid-century decor, but with updated amenities. The rooms open to spacious balconies overlooking the shores of Seneca Lake with the most beautiful and serene panoramic views; and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had a great weekend there!
Loretta L — Google review
If nothing else, this place gets 4 stars for the stunning view and location. I would stay here again just for that. Above that, the rooms were clean and the area was quiet and felt safe. I liked the Halloween decorations. The restaurant was decent but there are a lot of food options not far up the road if you want something else. The only issue I encountered is you only get one parking space per unit and there is only one parking space per unit so if someone parks in your space, you don't have a place to park. You have to park at the lobby and walk all the way down to your unit. It doesn't sound too bad unless it is dark, raining, cold, and you are exhausted from hiking. This happened to us both nights and we heard our neighbors honking and yelling at someone else too. The hotel needs to give you a card or something to put in your car window to identify which cars go with which unit. Other than that issue, we enjoyed our stay very much!

We stayed in room 130. Room was updated, beds were good, room was clean. View is great of the Seneca lake. Each room has its own parking spot. Overall good experience of this place.

Don't get SCAMMED like we did! My husband & I booked The Laurel in high anticipation of enjoying that gorgeous, unobstructed, PRIVATE balcony view as advertised, so of course this would be perfect for our wedding anni... right? WRONG!! İt took a minute to find our room aaaall the way at the bottom of a hill where 6 rooms sit ground level. My heart sank the second we pulled up DİRECTLY in front of our room's window. It was after check-in hours, maybe it'll look better in the morning? WRONG AGAIN! We got to enjoy the amazing view of a parking lot, guests/staff walking past our window, and 2 cars completely blocking any scenic landscape(see pic). We're paying $235/night to keep the curtain closed now?? NOwhere in the description did it state they even have ground level rooms, or I would have promptly called to secure what's ONLY shown online. İf we were made aware it was even a possibility to get such an option, we NEVER would have booked it! We got a roadside motel experience for the same price as other guests with the million dollar view/private balcony. We asked to move that first morning, (missing the opportunity to enjoy a nice coffee with the sunrise), so surely they'll make this right being that this is false advertising, right? WRONG! Frontdesk was kind enough, but fully booked, out of her hands. But who cares, they already got our money, right? We basically felt shoved in a prison cell with curtains closed so as not to see/be seen by passing cars, parked cars, rando guests & staff walking directly in front of our window. I contacted Expedia for some compensation for THEİR false ad, and the rep said it's listed "balcony upon request". İ called her out and said "tell me exactly where it says that?" No answer, because that's a LİE... just like the photo impressions. İ always read every detail to make sure I get exactly what I want for special occasions... And it's not there. Go ahead and read everything: policy, amenities, important to know, about section... NOTHİNG about possibly being thrown into a parking lot room. Expedia offered "key points" as compensation, obvi forcing us to use their service again, yet it still brought this garbage view to $200/night. What a joke. Even with photo proof, they tried to skirt around the issue. Horrible experience! Better call this place for the room that's ADVERTİSED as not to get SCAMMED like we did!

With a legacy spanning three generations, this vineyard cultivates an impressive variety of 14 grape types and offers a spacious wine store and tasting room with a picturesque view of the lake. Visitors can indulge in wine tastings on the roofed patio while learning about the vineyard's history, grape varieties, and the art of winemaking.
Wow! Had a great first time experience! Hands down the best winery I've ever been to. The Staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The VIEW is spectacular, photos don't do it justice. This winery has a Very good Vibe, and they even have a nice Trail if you want to go for a nice walk. After the tasting, it was very hard to choose just 1 bottle, so I got 5 lol ! (1 bottle didn't make the photo shoot) #Cheers🍷🍾

Lakewood Vineyards is a must-visit in the Finger Lakes! The wines are excellent — a great mix of classic varietals and unique local favorites, all crafted with real care and quality. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable, making the tasting experience both fun and educational. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous vineyard views that make it easy to relax and enjoy. Whether you’re a wine lover or just exploring the area, Lakewood is the perfect stop. Highly recommended!

This place is absolutely amazing! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Although the official tour wasn’t available at the time, we ended up with the best guide for free—he didn’t speak, but somehow we understood everything about the vineyard perfectly. 🍇 The wine tasting was outstanding—I tried the dry wine and loved every sip. 🍷✨ 100% recommended for anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience!

Awesome wines, fantastic property! Not to be missed. Really enjoyed the straight forward tasting and never felt unsure of what was being presented.(I'm not a wine snob, so less is more sometimes)

Lakewood Vineyards was a disappointing stop for our group. We heard great things about them online and from the locals. We ended up having a couple of non drinkers in our reservation and they were fantastic about refunding me in advance. Appreciate that customer service! But the tasting felt rushed and didn’t feel personal or fun. The wines were good and the views were beautiful, but as a group, we didn’t enjoy ourselves.

My husband and I visited the area for our 10th Anniversary. Neither of us had ever been to a vineyard so we decided to take a tour. We showed up to the vineyard it was so beautiful! We didn’t have tickets prior and they were sold out, but they had a couple not show up so luckily we got to go on a tour after all. Our tour guide Tracy was so fun! He made our tour full of a lot of laughs…. We really enjoyed our day at the vineyard! Another highlight is Fizzy the Aussie who runs around and wants you to play fetch with her piece of grapevine. She is the Sweetest pup. We sat and enjoyed cheese and wine we bought there and played fetch for probably a good half hour. I definitely recommend visiting… you won’t regret it. We left with 4 bottles of wine and hope to come back again soon!

Beautiful winery! Our host was very knowledgeable about the wines and grapes. Enjoyed the 3 white/2 red wine tasting and for only $5. They are dog friendly and have a beautiful indoor patio and outside area!

We had an amazing experience at this winery! The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful — relaxed, welcoming, and full of charm. The staff are true professionals: knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about what they do. Every detail, from the wine tasting to the service, made us feel special. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for not just great wine, but a truly memorable experience!

Sail True Love

Boat tour agency
Sightseeing tour agency
Sail True Love offers a delightful sailing experience on the serene Seneca Lake aboard a 1926 John Alden Malabar VII Schooner. This historic vessel, featured in the 1956 movie "High Society," provides an opportunity to enjoy local wine and a fruit and cheese platter while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
We had the unique pleasure of getting married aboard the True Love Schooner - and would recommend everyone that loves the Finger Lakes consider this for their wedding. We took a test cruise on the True Love the year before our wedding - and locked in a date with Captain Terry. In the lead up we checked in, and confirmed we would be bringing our own floral arrangements, and taking care of all of the officiant duties. The entire booking process was very easy, and we were given a ton of flexibility on scheduling our ideal sail time. On the actual day of our wedding our original sail time was scheduled to be a total downpour(and it did), making it no longer viable. Terry was quick to call both the night before and morning of - clearing the day to make sure we were able to make it out on the water, nearly 2 hours earlier than originally scheduled. The entire crew was honest and open with us about the weather, and any potential chop/conditions - we at no point felt like we weren’t entirely safe and comfortable. The sail was incredibly smooth, despite the stormy conditions a few hours out, the ceremony at Hector Falls was incredibly peaceful and still. The True Love will always hold a special place for us - and we’ll definitely be back for a sunset sail with the crew. We cannot recommend them enough for your intimate wedding ceremony, proposal or other special occasion.

Set sail for True Love, a truly enjoyable time! Bottom Line Up Front: We had a wonderful, relaxing, and fun time for a good price. The Good: The history of the John Alden designed schooner is worth reading before you go. We had some more “salty” members of our group that recognized the name of the schooner from the 1956 movie “High Society” starring Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra and after that we were on board for a wonderful time. We even were seated in the seats once occupied by Gene and Bing. We purchased our tickets after being approached by Terry who negotiated a decent price with us because he wanted a full boat for the next trip. Captain Bill was an experienced Captain and is well known in the area. He got us underway and was a delightful host regaling us with stories about the “True Love”, Seneca Lake and surroundings, as well as, some stories about racing the “True Love” and his crew, Spencer and Marena. Captain Bill even assisted another sailing boat that was in distress and precariously close to the lake edge. The trip was two hours long and on time. The crew served non-alcoholic and adult beverages (some free, some for a price) while underway and also sold some souvenirs (Whisky and glasses). The Bad: There was nothing bad, from start to finish, this was a very enjoyable trip and the crew definitely enjoyed sharing their love of the “Trie Love” with the joyful passengers. The Ugly: Absolutely nothing other than we could not be out for longer. If you find yourself in Watkins Glen, this is definitely an enjoyable to kick back, relax, and let the wind fill your sails. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, so I am going to end my post with a few that we snapped along the way. May you have fair winds, and following lake waters!

We had a truly lovely experience on the True Love! It was a treat for movie buffs to sail on the boat that was actually in the film High Society & mentioned in The Philadelphia Story. Our host Terry and his 2 crew members Brock and Spencer were competent sailors and knowledgeable about the lake, local wildlife, & salt production. It was a gorgeous day and heavenly to "sail" around the south end of the lake during the sunset. Actually there was no wind at all, so we were propelled by motor, but it was so quiet that it didn't ruin the peace. We even had soft drinks (included), rum with this very boat on the label (extra cost, plus a keepsake glass), and bread with hummus and cheese (included). Delightful! Thank you, guys!

We had a wonderful time sailing on True Love. It was the perfect weather and the boat was absolutely beautiful. It was very windy but it didn't affect our beautiful ride. We enjoyed a variety of yummy wines and beverages they offered at an affordable price, and the staff was so friendly and personable. We will be booking again in the future, it was very enjoyable. ♡

Such a great way to spend an afternoon. My wife and I brought 2 of our grandchildren to sail with the True Love in 2011. We just bought our great granddaughter to sail with the True Love this summer. It was every bit as much fun and enjoyable as the first time. The best part of it is that our grandchildren absolutely loved sailing and I’m sure that this special afternoon will be remembered for many years. Thank you for sharing your boat with us.

Glen Theatre

Movie theater
Nestled in the heart of Watkins Glen, the Glen Theatre is a delightful two-screen cinema that captures the charm of yesteryear while showcasing first-run Hollywood films. This quaint movie house, located at 112 N Franklin Street, serves as a beloved gathering spot for film enthusiasts and locals alike. With one screen featuring traditional seating and another offering tables for a unique viewing experience, it provides an inviting atmosphere to enjoy movies on the big screen.
The Glen Theater is a gem in Watkins Glen and not to be missed when you’re in town. Well run and clean with excellent acoustics. Though the show times are a bit limited, it’s worth the experience to catch a movie at this delightful small town theater. Concession stand has all the basics you need and prices can’t be beat. Wonderful experience and customer service.
Phoenix 5 — Google review
The Glen Theater in Watkins Glen is more than just a place to catch a movie, it's a cherished piece of our community's history. I remember the sad, heartbreaking feeling when this beloved little theater sat empty, vacant, and for sale, at risk of being lost forever. So, you can imagine the joy and relief when new ownership decided to reopen its doors, bringing movies back to this iconic little place that is near and dear to the hearts of all who visit or live here. There's a unique specialness about sitting in this old, vintage theater, there's a different vibe altogether. It feels like so much history comes alive when you settle into your seat. For that reason alone, the Glen Theater is worth catching a show. So, if you have the time and feel like taking yourself, the kids, family, friends, or strangers to experience a small-town theater to watch the big-time world on a bigger screen, this is the place to be. Not to mention, it truly is a wonderful way to connect with the past and while still creating new memories. Enjoy!
Watkins P — Google review
The Glen Theater is a small, two-screen theater. One of the theaters is smaller with the seats most common in today’s theaters. The larger theater is more old-style but every other row of seats was removed and a table added instead. In that theater, it’s easy to see but the seats aren’t all that comfortable. The concession stand is small but has the basics. I’m really glad there is a local theater that shows first-run films but because it is only two-screen we do miss some popular movies that come out.
Aimee E — Google review
Came for a matinee show during February break... good deal at only $7.50 a ticket. Popcorn ia tasty and concession prices are good (3 tickets, 1 large popcorn, 1 small popcorn, 2 medium drinks, and 1 small drink came to just under $60- that would have been well over $100+ at the mall!) While I am super happy to have the theater here in our small community and to see first run movies- it is absolutely FREEZING in here!!! There was a small propane heater running prior to the movie starting but once the movie began the heater was shut off. If you plan on going to the movies in the winter make sure to wear lots of layers and bring a blanket!!!
K S — Google review
Cozy, small movie theatre which plays mainstream movies. Great acoustics. Convenient location.
Daniel D — Google review
What a fantastic place. This is a small local theater that makes you feel welcome from the moment you step foot in the door. Very clean and comfortable. You can see the owners care about you, the community, and take lots of pride in what they do. Show times are appropriate so you are able to enjoy some of downtown Watkins Glen before and after the show. Doesn’t matter if you live here or are just visiting definitely go and enjoy.
Jim M — Google review
Great place! Clean. Friendly. Absolutely love the seating! I'd forgotten how much better a movie is when seen in a theater on the big screen. I'll be going there again soon. The kids LOVED it.
Carl T — Google review
There are two theaters, one of which has been nicely updated. The tickets are cheaper than what most places will charge, and the snacks are priced about average. This is my favorite theater for my family to go to; the staff are very nice, the tickets are cheaper, and the screen and sound is really good. It is also very clean.

Hector Falls is a stunning cascade waterfall located on Hector Falls Creek, visible from a bridge along Route 414 in Hector, Schuyler County, New York. This roadside beauty drops an impressive 165 feet and can be enjoyed throughout the year. While it's partially visible from the road, it's recommended to stop at Hector Falls Point and carefully cross the road for a better view of the upper part of this Finger Lakes waterfall.
Absolutely beautiful falls! The downfall is you have to pull off the side of the road and a traffic is flying through there 55 mph.
T S — Google review
Beautiful falls, but right next to highway with no parking! What a shame this fall wasn’t managed by anyone to offer better access. We hopped the road rails and climbed down to the falls at our own risk. We parked next to this abandoned motel across the road on the gravel. There was no No Parking sign so l assume it was okay, but still don’t feel like this was the safest option.

So much more to see here!!! Beautiful view of the falls and surrounding areas with lakes and valleys!! Parking by the falls is narrow and by the shoulder on each side of the bridge so be careful!
Angelo G — Google review
What a pleasant surprise addition to our day. I didn't even know this waterfall existed. This unique waterfall is located on both sides of a busy road. It was a beautiful large waterfall that continued down the other side of the road. There is no parking available and there are signs informing driver there is no parking on the bridge. There is an abandoned business just after the bridge that we parked at then walked to see the waterfall closer. This was pretty dangerous as cars are just zooming by. But if you can stay safe its worth stop. I even met a nice couple and helped take their picture. I love waterfalls so I'm so glad that we stumbled upon this.
Erica S — Google review
The waterfall is very beautiful and right next to the road, but there is no parking place. There is someone's property nearby and quite a lot of parking space, but the owner of this property is angry and does not allow tourists to park a car nearby. Since the road is very busy, you need to be careful when park and especially when crossing the road to the waterfall.
Dr. B — Google review
A stunning waterfall right in the side of the road! No real parking but just past the waterfalls going up the hill there is a pull off that you can park at and then backtrack to the falls. Amazing roadside attraction that requires no hiking! A must see if you are anywhere in this area! You will not be disappointed!
Aimee — Google review
Gorgeous water falls, great pic as long as your off the road safely. Traffic is moving pretty fast over that bridge and you can't park on the bridge. The is parking across the street.

A must add to your visit in Watkins Glen!

Note: Photos were taken at my home, not at the coffee house. Great coffee and wonderful atmosphere. I make it a point to stop in whenever I'm in the area. The coffee brewed in house is fantastic and the last couple times I've gone I've grabbed a bag of beans - both were different roasts and I thoroughly enjoyed every drop.

What a great find! My son and I were vacationing in Watkins Glen and came here two days in a row because it was so good! My son loved the blueberry, strawberry & mango fruit smoothie and the iced cold brew latte was unreal! The shop itself is tiny, with just enough room to stand and order but they have a charming covered outdoor seating area with Adirondack chairs & bistro tables next to a quiet garden. It was such a great place to chillax and enjoy! Definitely check this place out!

The food was just okay here. The ham was thick, but a processed type of ham. The home fries were sort of powdery, like frozen and maybe overcooked. Hubby said the omelet was okay but the huge pancake was tasty. Not the best meal we've had

Like any other Chinese/asian restaurant. We tried their shrimp + vegetable, hot and spicy chicken and shrimp combo (not at all spicy but sweet instead), steamed vegetable dumpling, hot and sour soup. Street parking.
Pranav B — Google review
I had a lovely dinner here with my family after visiting Watkins Glen State Park. The service was incredibly efficient, and it was nice that they were open late. The food was nothing special, but it was fine for a casual restaurant. We chose to have Chinese food, but there is a decent selection of Japanese food too. We ordered wanton soup, egg drop soup, spring rolls, hot tea, sweet and sour chicken, and beef chow mei fun. The building is somewhat run down though, and there were strange handwritten paper signs on the walls, hindering the ambiance slightly.
Arik B — Google review
Never again. Soup was flavorless. Pork fried rice had nothing in it but rice and maybe 5 pieces of onion. Honey chicken was chicken used for sweet and sour chicken with honey drizzled over it, it was obviously microwaved and still cold. Husband requested a menu item and was told he could only order from the lunch section (then why give the whole menu?). Bathrooms are dirty.
Julie C — Google review
We love House of Hong! Delicious vegan options. Our favorites are scallion pancakes, sesame bean curd, broccoli with garlic sauce, and vegetarian chicken with mixed veggies. Thanks!
Denise G — Google review
Absolutely the worst chinese food I've ever had. The server was lovely, but she couldn't make up for the terrible food. The fried wonton strips with sauce, as a starter was a nice try. But the strips were stale and the sweet and sour sauce was ice cold. We ordered the pupu platter and it looked lovely, but nothing was good. The ribs were inedible. They were very very dry and we were not able to eat anything off the dried out sticks. The shrimp was 80% batter. I didn't bother with the rest. We ordered sweet and sour pork. The battered and fried pork arrived alone on it's own plate. The sauce was in a separate container. The whole thing was very disappointing.

Stopped by here this past Sunday after looking for a place to eat and so far it turned out to be awesome! Service was amazing and she was super helpful and sweet. The food was great and so were the drinks. They have an outdoor section as well. It had nothing but beautiful views there of the lake.

Love!!! This food was so good and the service was very friendly! The prices are decent for what you get as well. I got the chicken sandwich which was delicious and my sister got the Caesar salad which was small but fills you up. Would definitely recommend as they have tons of seating indoor and outdoor and parking available! Our complaint was that food took almost 20 minutes.. other than that it was still a good experience

Stayed at the marina in September of 21. Called ahead of time to set things up and talked to Jon. He said to text him when we were a half hour away. We did and he met us in the parking lot. He helped us launch and showed us where to keep the trailer for the weekend. The local slip holders were all very friendly and invited us for sunset cocktails one evening. The facilities were above average compared to many transient marinas we have stayed at. We really enjoyed the town and everything was an easy walk from the marina.

Went here for lunch while vacationing in the Finger Lakes area, Watkins Glen in particular on one particular day... I had the Fried Clam Strips. They were o.k., but I have had better. Perhaps I had a temporary lapse of reason seeing we were at a marina, but alas, it is a marina at a lake, not the ocean. I think I should have gotten a burger... My wife ordered the Grand Prix Burger and was happy with her selection. I tried it (as she was unable to finish it) and it was pretty good. It had bleu cheese on it - not my preferred cheese, but it was her burger and so I can't complain... lol Anyway, the staff was terrific. The service was fairly quick. The view was nice & the weather was great.

Waterfall
Nature & Parks
Nestled in the charming village of Montour Falls, just a stone's throw from Watkins Glen, Shequaga Falls is a breathtaking sight that captivates visitors with its impressive 165-foot cascade. The name "Shequaga" translates to "tumbling waters" in the Seneca language, reflecting the area's deep Native American heritage. This stunning waterfall can be easily spotted from your vehicle as you drive through town or by taking a short stroll to the viewing area if you find parking nearby.
Easily accessed from the road this falls will not disappoint! A very short walk from the street parking will get you to a beautiful view and just enjoy this gem! There’s a lot of history behind the name so read up on the information available on the many signs throughout the garden.

Nestled in the quaint village of Montour Falls, New York, Shequaga Falls—also known as “She-qua-ga” or “tumbling waters”—is a true hidden gem that feels like a secret whispered by nature. This stunning 156-foot waterfall cascades down the cliffs right into the heart of the village, creating a dramatic and serene scene that seems straight out of a fairytale. As a traveler constantly seeking authentic and picturesque locations, I was genuinely taken aback by how accessible and beautiful this spot is. In the photo I snapped during my visit, you can see how Shequaga Falls steals the spotlight—framed perfectly by the still-bare early spring trees and a brilliant blue sky dotted with cottony clouds. The vibrant green of the lawn and the bright yellow forsythia in bloom bring the whole scene to life. What’s especially striking is how the falls are right at the end of a residential block—you’re literally standing between homes and suddenly met with this powerful natural spectacle. Whether you’re a road tripper passing through the Finger Lakes or a photographer chasing natural beauty, Shequaga Falls is worth a quick detour. It’s peaceful, photogenic, and free to visit—exactly the kind of unexpected joy that makes travel so addictive. Don’t forget to bring your camera—it’s hard to take a bad shot here.
R K — Google review
Love these falls at right in the village, even though the water was barely flowing after a long dry spell. Easy access and a great setting for perfect photos, especially in the fall.
Rick V — Google review
An easily accessible Falls, right off the roadway. There is a small park at the entrance, but we'll paved sidewalks to get to the Falls. It wasn't running strong during our visit but still beautiful to see!

Another nice spot to stop by near Watkins Glen. In September looks a bit dry. Hard to find parking near by, not sure if you can park on the side of the road.
Tatiana K — Google review
A nice small waterfall view. In between 2 houses on one side and if you cross the bridge, a view of the rest of the small waterfall, where the water runs to, and a high view of the Watkins Glen town. Beautiful!
Nilma Q — Google review
Beautiful waterfall that’s in-between two houses. Very well kept park.
Greg A — Google review
Another beautiful waterfall in Montour Falls! Also another roadside attraction that requires zero hiking as it’s right along the road. Beautiful little area to relax and enjoy the sounds of the falls. They have a benches to sit at or you could bring a blanket and have a nice little picnic in the grass!

Nestled in the heart of Watkins Glen, the International Motor Racing Research Center is a must-visit for anyone captivated by the thrilling world of car racing. This center serves as a treasure trove of racing history, showcasing an impressive array of memorabilia, artifacts, and photographs that chronicle the evolution of motorsport. Visitors can delve into oral histories and explore records from legendary drivers while marveling at both vintage relics and modern high-performance vehicles.
The museum was really neat with staff that are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They had a really awesome 20 minute video on the history of the grand prix that I really liked. I didn't know much about it so it was really cool to learn the basic history in that short period of time.

I had a fantastic time here today! I’ve always wandered by, but decided to stop in and was treated to a literal museum of sorts. Relics of antiquated beauty to new high octane models, this is a motor racing haven of heaven for race car enthusiasts. The museum was a beautifully tailored what’s what and who’s who of all things in the collective and very comprehensive sport of motor racing. The vibrant enthusiasm for this sport spans countries and cultures and is a perfect opportunity for unity in its most precious element. My host, the very gracious Duke Argetsinger, is a true blue legend in the motor racing world, as was his father. Humble and kind, he walked me through an encyclopedic perspective about racing in our brief time together and there’s still so much surface left to explore in those halcyon days of racing’s golden age to its limelight and spotlighted present. Every era and decade was fitfully represented through a mode of mediums, including but not limited to models, archival footage, video presentations, posters, trophies, hard to find artifacts and yes...incredible race cars in the institute’s main room! This was an absolute one if a kind experience and I look forward to visiting again. A very special highly recommended! Really worth a visit!

Scenic spot
Cavern Cascade is a must-see attraction in Watkins Glen, offering an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages. As the tallest waterfall in the gorge, it allows you to stand behind it and feel the thundering rush of water up close. The trail winds over and under various waterfalls, including Cavern Cascade, Rainbow Falls, and Triple Cascade, providing ample opportunities for stunning photographs.
Wow, what an utterly amazing place. Hard to believe something so beautiful and ancient is so close to the heart of Watkins Glen. The gorge itself is almost two miles in length with the cavern cascade probably the largest of the falls. Spectacularly, you can actually walk behind them, but be prepared to get a bit wet! Waterproof shoes are definitely recommended. Access is free from the street below, but if you drive up and park, it's $10 per car. Don't miss this, it's beyond belief!
Steve P — Google review
The gorge trail is absolutely gorgeous. The rocks shaped by the water all around you while you’re walking the trail is a next level experience. You can also read about the history of the valley during the walk. I recommend going as early as possible, it gets real busy real fast.
Dylan S — Google review
The waterfall is absolutely stunning. A humble request if you are visiting this place, please be respectful of others and do not block the way. There were a lot of people who were taking pictures standing right at the middle of the way blocking the people. Enter through the South entrance and take Gorge trail to get there. The area is wet and kind of slippery so make sure you have the right footwear.
Neby V — Google review
My family was anticipating this waterfall, but the trail to see it is temporarily closed for construction. The waterfall will be accessible in Summer 2026. Please note that Gorge Trail is still open and you can still see Rainbow Falls, but don't expect to see Cascade Falls until Summer 2026.

I saw Cavern Cascade and Rainbow Falls. It was busy, but that is to be expected on a holiday weekend. Fairly easy hike, but there were alot of steps. Since it was busy, I was forced to go slower which is fine because I was just taking in the views. Gorge trail is the trail you want to take to get the best views. I hiked Gorge trail all the way until it met with Indian trail. The I took Indian trail most of the way back. There were some wet spots, so be prepared to get a little wet. I wore tennis shoes and they were fine. Nice bathroom facilities at the entrance to the park.

As part of the Watkins Glen . From first steps to my last. They’re so many beautiful water falls. Cave and pond and stone steps….. Feel like back in time. The cave next to the most beautiful water fall. You have to stop there for. Some time can be little busy. Just be patient for a good picture.

Bar
Seneca Lodge Craft Brewing is a historic and cozy spot located near Watkins Glen State Park, offering a rustic Adirondack-style wood structure with a superb restaurant serving American cuisine made from fresh local ingredients. The bar boasts a great selection of beer on tap and unique decor, including arrows on the wall. Visitors can enjoy dining on the deck during the warmer months and may even have the chance to meet the brew master and sample some fantastic beers.
We did not have food here. We had their craft beer. It was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely a repeat
Daniel S — Google review
What to say about this brewery? Driving up, you'd have no idea there's a brewery here. It's a 1950s-ish motel and restaurant styled in that outdoorsy cabin motif. Enter through the bustling big restaurant space, wind your way past the salad bar, and nestled in the back is this extremely unique bar. There aren't exactly two competing themes, but you can't miss either. The entire space of the bar and surrounding seating is all racing decorations (posters, flags, you name it). Watkins Glen race track's nearby, and this place is clearly dedicated to all things racing. Also, behind the bar are fifty million arrows sticking out of the wall like a vertical pincushion. They had an amber or red ale on tap. It was good, and the bartender served up fresh ones automatically and without even being asked.
Peter D — Google review
What an amazing place, the staff are friendly and polite. I had the privilege meeting their brew master and discussing his invasions and fantastic beers. Some of which are canned to take home. Highly recommend stopping here while you are in Watkins Glen.

Holy moly. We had the London roast and it was absolutely fantastic, so much flavor packed in that meat. It looked kind of unappetizing but it tasted absolutely fantastic. Salad bar was awesome and the racing memorabilia was super duper cool. We got to meet the owner who told us some more about everything up on the wall. Wreaths and other stuff from Niki Lauda, James Hunt, Scott Dixon etc. Super duper cool and would absolutely stop by if in the area again!

We stopped in for a beer after visiting the park. Adam was incredibly upbeat, friendly, and clearly respectful of the history of the tavern. It was very special for my husband to be in the space since he’s a former racing driver and huge fan.

Locals told us this is a must see when in Watkins Glen. I loved the rustic and nostalgic building and decor. The bartender was friendly and helpful. Fair pricing on food and drinks. Salad bar. Outdoor seating.

We were looking for a brewery and the website says they are one. When we arrived we realized it was just a mediocre restaurant with beer that is brewed in another location. It was burger night and we paid over $20 for a burger that wasn't very good. Added $3 for a simple salad bar. Extremely overpriced restaurant for the quality of food. That being said, this restaurant is right at the entrance of Watkins glen state park campground, so that was convenient since we were camping there.

Can't rate the food as I didn't purchase anything from the menu though it was extensive. I did partake in a few of their on premise brewed beers and I would rate them as above average with the Kolsch being my favorite ! Just minutes to my campsite at Watkins Glen Park

Gorge Trail

The Gorge Trail in Watkins Glen State Park is a must-see for nature enthusiasts. This popular trail offers stunning views of nearly two dozen waterfalls as it winds through a deep, rocky ravine shaped by thousands of years of erosion. While the trail doesn't allow pets, there are nearby pet-friendly alternatives. Starting at the Upper Entrance, hikers can enjoy about 9 falls in just over a mile. However, its popularity means it can get crowded and some maintenance issues have been noted.
Amazing short hike! It’s very well maintained trail that can be completed in 2hr.

This trail is absolutely beautiful. It’s a 1.5 miles one way. We walked it in and out. We parked by the visitor center and walked up. I feel this is the best way to see it the first time. Deli
If you find yourself in Watkins Glen, make sure to swing by Holy Cow Deli for a delightful culinary experience that celebrates fresh ingredients and mouthwatering sandwiches. This charming deli offers a unique blend of high-quality meats, seafood, and sides alongside an impressive selection of hot and cold sandwiches. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by ample seating and cleanliness throughout the establishment.
The Holy Cow Deli in Watkins Glen has become a regular stop for me, not just for the reliably fresh and delicious food, but also for its convenient location whether I'm heading out for a day of photography or just need a great meal. Their sandwiches, subs, and salads are always top-notch; you really can taste the quality ingredients. It's the kind of place where once you've had a sandwich from here, it's hard to go anywhere else! They're also incredibly friendly and clearly a part of the local community, as evidenced by their monthly breakfast for Veterans. It's worth noting that The Holy Cow can get quite lively, and when it's really busy, the noise level can make conversation a bit challenging, which is fairly typical for popular spots. Parking can also be a bit tricky during peak times. However, these minor inconveniences are easily outweighed by the consistently excellent food and service. For anyone visiting Watkins Glen, whether you're planning a hike, a photography excursion, or just passing through and looking for a fantastic lunch, The Holy Cow Deli is definitely a five-star experience in my book!

Following our visit at Watkins Glen SP, we were hungry and heard about this eatery just a short distance down the road exiting town. Our dining experience was a little confusing. We ordered our sub and salad at the front counter. Then found a table and waited for the food to arrive. (There's outdoor seating as well.) My wife's salad had a nice bed of greens but way too much chicken for her taste. The 6" Seneca Club sub looked impressive, but was a chore to finish. It had too many types of meats packed together to savor, and a sub roll that lacked freshness and distinction. However, the twice cooked seasoned french fries were mad good! Eating those crispy fries w Heinz ketchup was pure joy in my mouth.

Sandwich was delicious/great, I had the Rachel. A teenage girl waited on me. She wasn't very friendly, in fact I didn't get a welcome feeling when I stepped in. Was disappointed that when I grabbed a bag of chips the girl didn't tell me my sandwich came with chips. Thanks. The seating area and restrooms are very clean. It was very hot outside and it was very nice and cool inside.

There are not many vegan options in Watkins Glen. Ironically, went to a meat deli for a delicious veggie sandwich. Great portions/price. Good selection of sides and drinks. Was going to return the next day, but they were closed even though Google said they were open.. Clean. The older lady who helped us was not very friendly!

Aptly named because Holy Cow the food's amazing! Best reuben I've ever had. My husband loves their godfather sub. After ordering at the counter from the warm and friendly staff we found a table and waited only a few minutes for our food. Almost every table was full, and yet the attentive service made us feel like we had the place to ourselves. Our food was assembled with care, made with delicious ingredients, and had incredible flavor. I always get the cold pressed juice from Fulkerson Winery & Farm, especially the apple cider. It can be found in the drink cooler to the right of the registers. The prices at Holy Cow are very reasonable, especially for the quality. The menu has a good variety to choose from. It's a handicap accessible eatery with an open floor plan for ease of movement. The bathrooms are always clean and nicely decorated. It wasn't our first visit, and it certainly won't be our last.
Chelsea H — Google review
The counter ordering process was inefficient, not very friendly and our food took inordinately long to come out. We are talking half an hour for two salads and a sandwich. The sandwich was really excellent but I had to return my salad because there were two live insects crawling on the vegetables. The restaurant is clean so the bugs probably came from the fresh lettuce. But still, they should have been washed off. You can tell this place is popular with locals and possibly on another day, it might have been just fine, but I don’t think we will be going back.
Lynn H — Google review
This clean, unassuming place is a combination deli and seller of high quality cuts of meat, seafood & sides. I've never had a "long" cheeseburger served on a long subway roll before, but it was delicious. Friendly counter service and plenty of seating, inside and outside.

Out in wine country and needed a place to stop and watch the Bills game. We were nervous about the reviews but decided to give it a try. We cannot express how much of a great time we had. Had a late lunch here, shrimp poboy with fries. Shrimp wasn't the breaded deep fried type, sub roll had lettuce tomato and spicy garlic aioli. I usually don't like aioli however this one was very good. Prices were a little higher than I would expect. I enjoyed the meal and quick service.

We came for dinner after our proposal on a Saturday night during live music. We didn't have to wait for a table and the restaurant wasn't full. Despite that, the food wait was very long and our server came back to apologize multiple times. We suspect it may not be a very organized kitchen. Our orders came out at different times and was mediocre. $30 prime rib came out cold and was very sad looking; the side of veggies was frankly gross. We watched staff pour soap directly on the floor to clean up a spill, which just created an ice rink. The timber-framed interior of the restaurant was beautiful though. Probably wouldn't go again, we'll try somewhere else.

I saw the Burger King from the Watkins Glen entrance and was headed there for lunch on foot when I noticed this Bar&Grill a little bit down a small street. Wanting something a bit better than fast food, I gave it a try, and I'm glad I did. They have a good variety of burger and sandwich, but the item that caught my eye was fried mushrooms. Most of the places I eat at home in Colorado stopped serving them a few years ago so I was happy to find somewhere that has them on the menu. They were great, and so was the burger & fries. My mom got a fried fish burger that she said was excellent as well. Pricier than Burger King, but worth it. The service and the ambiance was good too with a dining area surrounding a central bar, which opens up to a large outdoor patio.

Service and staff was amazing . Very friendly and out going. Atmosphere very unique. Live band playing when we arrived. Portion size more than adequate. I ordered the Mac & cheese dinner. It was awful! Very bland and no cheese taste whatsoever . We also buffalo wings . Sauce was on the side . Yet the buffalo sauce was undesirable as well .

Another visit on a whim. We wanted a quick bite but ended up a long wait, they were short staffed but honestly the place is amazing. We enjoyed checking out the place as they have an array of things hanging everywhere. By the time our food was served it was well over an hour but the food was delicious and made up for the wait. We were given a few gift certificates and the owner was very accommodating and will surely visit again 😀

Coffee shop
Dunkin' is a popular chain of coffee shops that offer breakfast items and coffee drinks. The store can be clean, but some employees do not greet customers when they approach the counter for service. The store gets busy at times, requiring more employees to flow customer orders.
Awesome experience….I’ve read the bad reviews and have to say that it was not my experience at all. We visited on a Sunday morning during peak season- they were extremely crowded both in drive thru and walk in. They had about 10 people working and had a great system to make everything run smoothly and quickly. Quality was not compromised at all. They have definitely stepped up their game from the reviews I’ve read.
Jennifer M — Google review
We visited this Dunkin’ every day during race week, expecting consistent service during our stay. Unfortunately, our experience was overwhelmingly negative. Each time we came in, we encountered a red-haired gentleman who appeared visibly angry, throwing items and yelling — behavior that was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. The rest of the staff seemed disengaged and disinterested, as if they didn’t want to be there. The quality of the coffee was consistently poor, and the food was repeatedly burnt. Basic expectations weren’t met. Frankly, this location reflects badly on the Dunkin’ brand. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. Even McDonald’s offered far better service and product quality than what we experienced here. Do better.

I ordered a medium iced cold brew with cold foam and 3 caramel, had to correct the caramel at the window and there was whip cream instead of cold foam on this. Disappointed because the last couple times I’ve come in the morning my order is always made incorrectly. I never have issues later in the day with my order
Macy F — Google review
The staff was friendly-ish. However, they are always trying to break down early so lights are always off an hour before close, everything is just everywhere, and coffee is bitter. Last time, they were pouring coffee out of an iced tea container. My whip cream and milk was curdled. So I'm glad I noticed before drinking anymore. They "couldn't" make my frozen coffee due to breaking down early. I always try to go to the one in Elmira 30 minutes away before coming home.
Mariah W — Google review
TLDR : bad food, lots of items unavailable, bad service, drinks came back wrong, we don't live here - but wouldn't back if we did. Girl taking our order was not friendly, we asked for a mix of pumpkin spice and blueberry munchkins and she nearly slid them across the table onto the floor. The munchkins are barely iced and have a weird flavor to them. Almost every member of staff had ear buds in, which may be the reason for why our orders got mixed up, plus it's extremely unprofessional. My husband and I ordered the same exact drink, but they were made differently - not sure how that works. Luckily one guy was trying to provide helpful service when we questioned the milk we had in one of them, I'm lactose intolerant and cant risk drinking any kind of milk product. Every worker had an some kind of attitude or just seemed disinterested, it's just oozing at this place.

I was a manager at the painted post location for about 2 years and am utterly disgusted with my experience at this location.

Stopped in to get some coffee on my way home from Elmira. The staff was having a good time singing and working, and they were nice enough to put my drink in my Yeti to keep it colder. The drive through is very narrow so I walked in. It was refreshing to see the staff all being kind and having fun.
Marty W — Google review
Staff is extremely rude. First sandwich was cold, when I went back to ask for a new one they gave me sausage instead of bacon and it was still cold, and when I went back to get the right sandwich I got attitude and sarcasm from the employee, who said the sandwich was hot but it was still ice cold in the middle. Avoid at all costs has been nothing but issues as of late

We also love their iced tea and fresh, grined-in-house coffee. Will definitely be back. It's way much better than I expected. Added more photo on June 2nd, 2025. Ordered the same thing. 😊

The service was outstanding. The coffee was excellent. We had a late lunch of burgers and fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly but we had two issues with the burger buns. They seemed a bit stale and they were much too fragile for the burgers. After just one bite they were breaking up. The regular and the sweet potato fries were both delicious. We finished with a slice each of cherry and blueberry pie. A great finish with our second cups of coffee.

A nice spot for breakfast and diner food! The food here was bare bones, no frills, very simple. Each dish was prepared well and fair. Although nothing too outstanding, it was quite enjoyable! The service was great.

Last day of our last minute getaway before we hit the road on a 3 hour drive back home. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious. In a previous review somewhere else I stated that we love small family diners and this one did not disappoint. So yummy!!

“Great local spot in Watkins Glen! Friendly service, tasty food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect stop if you’re in town

Very friendly family restaurant. Moderately busy on the day we ordered. Will Definitely recommend the omelette (western omelette - it contains ham but if you don’t want that there are multiple options like turkey and bacon ). Waffles and french toast are not as expected and strawberries are not so fresh. Coffee has a nice taste and can be refilled multiple times. Would recommend a Cappuccino.

Nice little family owned restaurant. They serve lunch and breakfast. Come have a seat in one of their booths or tables and let the servers here pamper you. They are very friendly and efficient. The place and bathrooms are clean. There is a pretty decent sized parking lot. The parking lot and the building are wheelchair and walker friendly. It is within walking distance to several motels and Airbnb's. They take cash, credit or debit cards. Family friendly so bring your kids.
