Nature & Parks
Garland Ranch Regional Park is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Carmel Valley, boasting an impressive 3,464 acres of natural beauty. This rustic park is not only dog-friendly but also offers a plethora of hiking trails that wind through enchanting woodlands, canyons, and chaparral landscapes. Whether you're meandering along flat meadows or tackling steep ascents that lead to breathtaking valley views, every step promises adventure.
Garland Ranch is one of the most well funded and free to access parks I've ever been to. Love the visitor center and well maintained trails (lots of options both easy or challenging).
Mary W — Google review
One of the two "hard" hikes in Monterey County. Manageable, but very long, unbroken inclined to Pinion Peak fire tower. Great, panoramic view from the top.
Gregory M — Google review
A variety of running and hiking trails with plenty of accessible, beautiful viewpoints. No waterfall in late June. Snivley’s ridge is worth the effort. If your adventure level is high, beware that the park is surrounded by private property so you may need to amend your route. My loop required a bridge-less creek crossing and a short jog down the highway back to the car to avoid backtracking. The hike up to the fire tower is slow, steep and overgrown.
Adam T — Google review
I had a great time walking the trails during Labor Day weekend. The morning weather was perfect for a hike. Then I stopped by Carmel Valley Coffee for some chai tea and a pastry. Perfect morning.
Will L — Google review
Beautifully maintained trails, a nice place to go for a hike.
Paulina B — Google review
Nice wide walking paths. Beautiful setting. Does allow dogs off leash on trails provided they have voice recall. Good parking, restrooms & best of all...free admission. If haven't been before, pickup a trail map outside visitor center.

Nice mountain hikes, with the river to cool off! Pretty nice park, just make sure to stay on the trail, and away from the ticks.

Good food and service, excellent location (grounds, views, rose/vegetable garden).

Today for the first time my husband and I went to dinner at Lucia restaurant. Since we arrived our Hostess was very attentive, he welcomed us with a big smile. They allowed us to choose the best table. Our waiter Luis was very attentive. The food was too delicious, the busser was also very attentive. Holly was very attentive to us. Luis our waiter was always attentive to ensure that we were enjoying the food and the place. Sidney brought the food with a big smile. This was one of the best experiences my husband and I had at a dinner where we celebrated his birthday! This place is very cozy, beautiful, elegant, we loved it! Thank you all so much for making our night very special.
Adry L — Google review
I came here for a last minute dinner and was delightfully surprised by the prompt service. The food is delicious, and the king salmon is ah-mazing! It’s well suaved with a crispy cover. The steak is surprisingly tender too. One bummer is the bread - I wish the bread is softer. Overall, I enjoyed the meal a ton and came back for lunch the next day (again). The salmon didn’t disappoint!
Charlene W — Google review
Amazing place. Service is top notch, food is super delicious on the level of Michelin star, cozy atmosphere and great vibe of Carmel valley. somewhat pricey but in my opinion worth it. We got ahi tuna for appetiser, salmon, butternut squash ravioli for main dishes and both were amazing. For desert we got fig cheesecake with pistachios and it was mind blowing. Nice wine selection and some draft beers. very special place!
Dmytro B — Google review
Phenomenal place. Just shy of a Michelin star in my opinion. Ingredients are fresh and stay truthful to their flavors. Nothing is pretentious. It is just good food presented in an upscale, classy manner. The food is a bit subdued for the atmosphere but perhaps that's what the chef is going for. I couldn't ask for a better dinner with friends and family. Will return just for Lucia.
Wook C — Google review
We were looking for a place to eat and a local recommended this place. We were staying a the lodge and we generally don’t eat at our hotel restaurant. This restaurant is a definite exception. My short rib dinner dish was as good as it gets. Here is something I’ve never said. My huevos rancheros breakfast was my favorite meal of the trip.

Pretty good experience. Although no tasting menu was available. Food was pretty good. Servers, etc. were friendly. We used to dine hear when "Cal" was the executive chef. Food was much more elevated then. Very nice place, just a different experience from our previous ones.

Nestled in the heart of Carmel Valley, Corkscrew Cafe is a delightful spot that beautifully marries history with culinary excellence. With its charming Mission-style decor and inviting garden patios, this cafe offers a serene atmosphere perfect for enjoying simple yet elegant dishes crafted from fresh ingredients sourced right from their own organic gardens. The menu features farm-fresh fare, including locally caught seafood and hormone-free meats, ensuring every bite is bursting with flavor.
Elote pizza is out of this world!!! Slightly spicy, tantalizingly sweet corn. Crispy edges. Speechless. Tasty fish tacos. Lovely wine pours. My drinking mate and I walked in for lunch with no reservation. We were seated right away. We had a time crunch, and the waiter was very accommodating. Quirky outdoor seating area with multi-colored cushions adorning the seats. Indoors looked more rustic with brick and wood motifs. Great food. Great service. About $40/pp. We’ll be back!

Adorable little spot with amazing service and delicious food. We're traveling and I'm so glad we stopped at this place. Service was fast, server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We felt a little out of place in our sweatshirts but we were treated as if we were wearing ballgown and suits. Pizza is absolutely phenomenal, woodfired so of course is going to have a little char because, duh. Ceaser salad was also delicious. I loved the chalk walls in the back area and the wine bottles used for water. Just an overall amazing experience

Great spot for a drink and a bite. Stopped in with the family and enjoyed a sunny afternoon while eating calamari, soup, and a burger. All were delicious. 'The food was extra extra good!' According to the youngest in the party. Very good service and kind staff. It's definitely worth the visit and the time spent.
Anthony L — Google review
This was up until now my favorite restaurant in the area, went for my birthday, when we walked in we saw the pizza chef kind of scraping the char off a pizza and we're like oh dang ... Fast forward and one of the pizzas we ordered was charcoal on one side, you can see where they tried to cut off some of the crust... Bizarre that they would serve it, I was going to send it back but no one ever did a check on our table and I gave up. It kind of ruined wanting to go back there for me : (

Stopped by Corkscrew Café in Carmel Valley and ordered the Salad Pizza — easily one of the best things on the menu. The crust had that perfect wood-fired char, crisp on the outside but soft inside, layered with mozzarella, burrata, roasted red peppers, and thin prosciutto. The fresh arugula and shaved Parmesan on top gave it a bright, peppery bite, and the drizzle of spicy honey tied it all together. Beautifully balanced between rich and fresh. Enjoyed it with a glass of local white wine on their charming patio — olive trees, and valley sunshine made it the perfect lunch setting to hang out. Highly recommend.
Andrew W — Google review
The Corkscrew is one of the places you have to go to when you visit Carmel. The pizzas are pretty unique, especially the Meyer Lemon one which is my personal favorite. Plus, their salads are incredible. I have tried almost everything on the menu, and their pear arugula salad with the meyer lemon pizza are my favorites. The goat cheese platter is also extremely delicious, along with all of their pizzas, and their burrata and grapefruit/beet salad. Highly recommend, and the vibe is very nice and outdoorsy as well. Plus, it is a good place for dogs!

This place got plucked from the Tuscan countryside and dropped into Carmel Valley. Absolutely adorable inside and out. Enjoyed a lovely brunch with coworkers yesterday, the service was great and they accommodated our large group very graciously. Tried every single specialty pizza on the menu and they were all quite tasty, the one pictured is the Meyer Lemon. Don't miss this whimsical wisteria wonderland, it's truly lovely and one of a kind.

ROUX is a charming bistro with a patio that offers French and Mediterranean tapas, using local ingredients and serving wine. Chef Fabrice Roux has infused his French roots into the menu, adding a playful touch with Spanish influences. The restaurant provides indoor seating as well as a covered outdoor patio that is dog-friendly. The chef aims to create a unique and customizable experience for each customer.
Food was great. The owner came out and greeted our birthday dinner group. Service was awesome. I recommend this place. We didn't get any wine but they have tons to choose from. Choose the outdoor seating you won't be disappointed.

Don't sit near the window or you'll spend time with the flies. The food was okay, but the service was not. The restaurant wasn't packed either. However, it seemed like only one guy was taking care of everyone. They need at least two people. The paella was definitely enough for two people. We ended up with some leftovers.
Edison H — Google review
The food was horrible, no flavor. I added a pivoting of the worst French onion soup I have ever tasted. The cheese was not the typical gruyere, and while I do like a lot of cheese, this was easy too much. There was no broth or onions, they had too much bread. I asked for some broth and onions, but the server said they didn't have more. Go to Lugano's for Great onion soup. The Gamba appetizer, no garlic or butter flavor, the crisp on shrimp looked good, but they're was zero flavor. Lastly, my husband for the gnocchi bolenaise. They're was a pile of gnocchi stannic got like out came out of a microwave. We changed tables because there were 5 flies hanging out by the window, we should have just left then. The waiter was trying to get us to order drinks, we only wanted sparkling water. He said, "oh, you don't drink?" Nope, I want my brain healthy. He suggested soda, I said no way. At the end he was pushing dessert, they're was no way we were trying anything else at that place, never again. Go any place but here.

I had the short ribs which was sort of like a pot roast and it was quite good. Not a huge portion but good. The seafood pasta was good as well. Call ahead just to make sure they have tables

Possibly one of my favorite lunch stops in town. Really comfortable outdoor seating. Inside available too. Had a nice tapas style lunch by sharing a variety of small dishes. Had yucca fries, crab cakes and mini burgers. That was plenty for the two of us but we tend to eat small portions. Sangrias (both red and white) were really good and perfect for this hot day. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend it.
Marcus K — Google review
Classy atmosphere, excellent service. We only had some of the small plates as we had dinner plans elsewhere, but they were very good. The Brussels sprouts in particular were on point.
Rebecca A — Google review
Amazing food in a relaxed and beautiful environment. We came here again after 1.5 years and it was as good as we remembered. In my view, this is the top restaurant in Carmel Valley. We will definitely be back.
Chenxi W — Google review
I visited Roux this past weekend with a group and ordered the New York strip steak cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, the steak I received was clearly overcooked--closer to well done. When I brought this to the attention of our server, he acknowledged the issue and said they would remake it. Shortly after, the server returned and informed me that the chef beleived the steak was medium rare, though they would still prepare a new one. About five minutes later, I received another steak--this time severely undercooked, blue rare, and still cold in the center. When I brought this up to my server, the chef shouted from the kitchen, insisting the first steak had been cooked correctly. It was one of the most unprofessional dining experiences I've ever had. The staff showed no accountability and displayed incredibly poor customer service throughout the interaction.

A wonderfully quaint rustic lodge in the heart of Carmel Valley. Rooms are spotless, the food is very good; but the service is impeccable. Les and Mike and their employees provide over the top help and service, from ice for a hospitality suite to golf reservations to special requests. Highly recommended.

As a local, I’m really disappointed that I can’t take my friends and family to this establishment without being embarrassed. Trevor, the bartender, is extremely rude and inappropriate with his conversations and conduct. I’ll take my business, and my friends business, to Bernardus Lodge And Spa. More classy and more appreciated.

Found about six spiders in the room, one crawled from underneath the pillow, and found this giant recluse by the toilet. Slept fully clothed on top of the bed. Room has no AC. A double room is actually a room with one bed and one child size bed. Will not be returning. giant gap under the door spiders can keep crawing through. I’m leaving

While this place is clean and charming, it is not handicap friendly. It was a 500' distance from the rooms to the restaurant. And the path was NOT LIT at nighttime! The restaurant is a 5* dinner house, but doesn't serve any other meals. What is touted as a continental breakfast is a fruit plate, hardboiled eggs and the same dried out loaf cake served every morning, plus juice and coffee. No coffee pot or microwave in the room. The grounds are beautiful. The location convenient. The price reasonable.

Stayed in the poolside cabana and the space was huge. Nice and updated with some original touches still left over. Very quiet at night and deep enough into the valley that it was sunny and warm all 3 days we stayed here! The skirt steak and the appetizers we had at restaurant exceeded expectations. Service was great all the way around. Will be back.

During our first visit to Carmel Valley, we dined at Café Rustica and immediately understood why this charming, cozy spot is a local favorite. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. One of the unique highlights is the open kitchen—watching the chefs at work adds a memorable, personal touch to the experience. The food is exceptional. Portions are generous, and every dish we’ve tried has been rich in flavor and beautifully presented. My personal favorites are the lamb and duck—some of the best I’ve ever had. But what truly stands out is the service. We once introduced close family friends to Café Rustica, and they loved it so much they planned to celebrate their anniversary there. Wanting to surprise them, I called ahead to reserve a table and arrange a bottle of champagne. Despite the distance and short notice, the staff made it happen seamlessly, even processing the payment over the phone. That thoughtful gesture made their evening unforgettable—and cemented our loyalty to this gem. Now, every time we’re in the area, a dinner at Café Rustica is a must. It’s not just the food—it’s the care and hospitality that keep bringing us back.

McIntyre & Boekenoogen Family Wines Tasting is a must-visit in Carmel Valley, offering a delightful experience for wine enthusiasts. The winery, established in 1998 on a fifth-generation cattle ranch, focuses on cultivating Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Their Syrah is particularly noteworthy due to the region's occasional cooler climates. Situated in the charming Carmel Valley Village, the tasting room provides an intimate setting to savor their exquisite wines.
Some great local wines. Pinot noir and chardonnays mostly from SLH and Arroyo Secco AVAs. We didn't love every wine, and that seems appropriate for authentic creations from a range of winemakers that they work with. Try the 2017 "block 3" vs "old vine" which come from the land adjacent to each other but taste different. Nice facility and service. Wines are a bit pricey but in line with other good wines from those locations.
J F — Google review
Have been a member of Boekenoogen for quite a while and loved the wine and service we have always received at the tasting room. McIntyre came in and purchased one of our favorite wineries, which will make anyone nervous, but we were more than pleasantly happy with the change and couldn't be more pleased with what McIntyre has brought into our local wine tasting family. Everyone at the tasting room is fantastic, knowledgeable and ready to share their experiences of the wineries and the area. There is so much to share and we love chatting with them about so much about their wines and what best goes with each of them. Thank you McIntyre Winery for everything you bring to the table, or to our glasses, it is always delicious and a pleasure we come to see y'all.

It's big with lots of different areas for people to explore and hang out in, has a great flow for the progression of a wedding, the view is quintessential Carmel Valley (absolutely gorgeous), balances and merges landscaping perfectly with the natural beauty of the area, completely quiet and peaceful, buildings are nice, not far from afterparty locations or from Carmel-by-the-Sea where our guests stayed. Feels almost like a Tuscan of Southern France retreat in California. It's truly an idyllic place. It was magical getting married there. Our photos are amazing, due to our incredible photographer and a variety of locations that made for beautiful backdrops. I can't say enough about how gorgeous the property is. And the staff is top notch. They are super friendly, fully staffed, and beyond helpful. They made sure the place runs smoothly and we were happy. It's a well oiled system that functions pretty much invisibly to the guests. Renting out the property with all 14 rooms to stay onsite with our wedding party was the best part of our wedding weekend experience. It made our weekend feel so easy and not stressful at all, waking up and walking from our room to the get ready rooms, being about to go back to our room whenever we wanted. And getting to hang out with our wedding party throughout the weekend was so much fun. It felt like a whole retreat instead of a hectic one day production. I would recommend Holman Ranch in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a wedding venue. They have the whole process down so smoothly and perfectly, it made my job as the bride so much easier and everything went off without a hitch.

We discovered the winery by accident while in town 3 years ago for a wedding and had such a wonderful time at the tasting room we decided to become members. One of the best benefits of their wine club is the annual complimentary stay on-site at their ranch. We’ve been coming back every year since for our anniversary, and the wonderful people of Holman Ranch have made each of our visits absolutely amazing. Can’t thank Meghan, Giuseppe, and the wonderful team members of Holman Ranch enough!

If you're looking for a gorgeous venue with amazing staff and gorgeous views, look no further! I photographed at Holman Ranch for a wedding, and it was the perfect location. The staff was helpful and friendly, and they helped the bride get ready in several locations around the property—one of which had an incredible view of the mountains. There were so many great features of this venue: it's all-inclusive, so you don't have to worry about anything else once you're there. It's perfect if you want to get married in one place and have your reception somewhere else. And if you want to spend your wedding night at the hotel onsite? They've got that covered too!

I first learned about this place while I was looking for a place where my husband and I could spend a few hours on his birthday weekend in January.  I wanted not just a tasting room experience (a bit too boring for us), but something rather educational and inspiring.  I booked a wine tour at their ranch for January 27th,  and it was a wonderful experience.  A person who helped me with my booking over the phone (I can't recall his name,  unfortunately) was super friendly, and our guide Giuseppe (I do hope I remembered his name correctly) was extremely knowledgeable and fun. The property is very well-maintained, the views are breathtaking,  and the wine is spectacular. I'm not a big fan of red wines, yet I enjoyed every single sample I was offered.  We had a blast that day, and we ended up purchasing their membership.  They shipped their wine to our home estate in Colorado, and the shipment was seamless.  Being a member of their wine club,  I now have access to some of their events,  e.g. yoga sessions.  My friend and I attended one of such classes,  and it was lovely. We tasted their Rose,  and brought home 2 bottles; that was one of the best Roses that I had tried not only stateside,  but even in Europe. Despite some misunderstanding that I had with one one their employees,  Meghan,  the management mended the matter and made our visit very special.  Their GM, Ms Kirstie Woods, is a professional who knows their business and how to make the customers happy.

Wow, this venue is positively stunning! Every inch of this property is beautiful. I had the recent pleasure of photographing a wedding here and I was blown away. From the lovely interior rooms for getting ready space, to the ceremony site with the rolling hills, to the stone patio for a cozy and elegant reception, to the hilltop sunset portrait location- it was all a dream! I highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a naturally beautiful and elegant location.

The Moto Talbott Motorcycle Museum is a small hidden gem in Carmel Valley. The museum has a large collection of motorcycles and is worth the visit for anyone interested in vintage bikes. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable and can share interesting stories and facts about each bike.
This hidden gem is the BOMB! I never even knew it was here. So worth the visit!! A small $10 donation was worth the price as it is huge! Way larger than it's outside appearance. And the hosts are MARVELOUSLY INFORMED! The stories and facts they shared with us left me feeling like I was in the midst of royalty with these treasured pieces of rideable art. You don't have to go on a tour. Just take your time admiring each one if you'd like. But they were nice enough to actually give us a personalized tour. I wish I could have stayed longer so I'm going to have to plan a return trip to fill in the pieces I had to rush by due to time. Don't miss this gem in the middle of Carmel Valley!

The coolest motorcycle museum in California! Well worth the visit if you’re in the area for a car or motorcycle event. So many rare bikes

Had a great private tour with the Shelby VIP group during Car Week. Great bikes, motorcycles and more. Tons of great stories about the motorcycles. So much racing history in one spot. It was definitely worth the trip to Carmel Valley to see.

Very cool museum with lots of beautiful & historic 2 wheeled vehicles. I'm not a motorcycle or bicycle fan and I really liked it. 1901 racing bicycle looks very modern. . .unitl you notice wheel rims are wood! Design of sleek 1930's to 1950's Italian motorcycles are as sexy as Ferrari, Maserati & Lamborghini.

Bernardus Winery is a must-visit destination in Carmel Valley, offering a fantastic wine tasting experience. The winery is known for its consistently high-quality whites and reds, making it stand out among other exceptional wineries in the area. Located in a former bank building, the wine tasting room provides a beautiful patio for tastings on sunny days, creating a scenic and relaxing atmosphere.
This was a very amazing place to wine taste. There was so many good experiences that were 5+ stars. They have 5 Chardonnays, 7 Pinot Noirs, and more just in their printed menu. There are a few areas to taste inside and out. Besides the great friendly service, our favorite part was the style of wine. A little fruit forward, very smooth and all drinkable on its own. Highly recommend the trip out to the best wine experience in Carmel Valley.

Love! Love! Love! This place we have been coming here over 20 years. Wine is amazing! Service is amazing! Patio is cozy. A must visit! Don’t be afraid to ask questions

We stumbled upon Bernardus Winery during our 2-day stay at Carmel Valley. We went in on Day 1 to ask for info on wine tasting. We came out a few hours later after tasting 4 different types of wine: Rose, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Marinus Bordeaux Blend ($30/person) We sat in comfy chairs in the patio area. Very relaxing latmosphere for wine tasting particularly on a warm September day. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They allowed us ample time to enjoy each wine before introducing the next one. We like the Marinus Bordeaux Blend 2015 so much we even bought a bottle! We totally enjoyed our wine tasting experience. Thank you Rouark for looking after us so well. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Bernardus Winery is absolutely one of our favorites in the Carmel Valley. If you are in the area this stop is a must. Their tasting room is a former Bank of America location that was thoughtfully and beautifully remodeled. The staff here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the wines they have available. We were delighted by the entire tasting and ended up grabbing a bottle of the Marinus to take home!

Avoid Bernardus Hotel – Overpriced, Underwhelming, and Not Worth the Hype We stayed at Bernardus Hotel for one night to celebrate my birthday and my wife’s baby moon. What should have been a special, relaxing experience turned out to be a massive letdown. Yes, the grounds and ambiance are beautiful—but don’t be fooled. The service? Barely 2 stars, and that’s being generous. Let’s start with the spa. We booked 50-minute massages and asked to extend them to 90 minutes while en route. We were told they couldn’t accommodate because there were appointments right after us. Fair enough—except no one used the massage room after we left. Suspicious. We asked to check in early (and were willing to pay for it) but were denied right as we arrived. At check-in, they offered us a glass of wine—nice gesture—except they never actually gave us any. Just…forgot? Then the valet. We specifically asked him to bring in my wife’s Yeti water bottle (she’s pregnant and didn’t want to carry it around). He assured us he would—but of course, it never showed up with the luggage. And those massages? We were charged a staggering $680 for two 50-minute sessions that were easily the worst we’ve ever had. My “deep tissue” massage had no pressure at all, and my wife’s prenatal massage was essentially an oil rub. No real technique, no relaxation, no skill—just a waste of time and money. It honestly made us wonder if these massage therapists were even licensed. Staff were generally friendly but not the least bit proactive or accommodating. There’s clearly no focus on customer experience here—everyone we encountered seemed indifferent and undertrained. When we finally got to our room, we were greeted with a small plate of dried fruit and two macarons. Nice touch—but when we tried to order more macarons through room service (they weren’t on the menu), we were told “no,” but that they could bring us cookies instead. What kind of luxury hotel can’t offer more of a basic amenity they already gave us in the room? This stay cost us nearly $1,400 (yes, one night + two massages), and what we got was a below-average experience at best. Food was okay—nothing memorable. Service was unpolished and inconsistent. For a property that markets itself as upscale and charges accordingly, they completely miss the mark. If you’re thinking about staying here—don’t. There are plenty of other places in Carmel Valley that actually understand hospitality. Bernardus is a textbook example of style over substance. Huge disappointment.

Delicious wines across all the spectrums. For white lovers, I highly recommend the Sauvignon Blanc, rosé, the Provence, and all of the reds I tried were delicious, particularly the Pinot Noir and especially the Bordeaux blend (so delicious). The staff are wonderful and they even had a phenomenal singer/guitarist serenading us all as we sat and drank insanely delicious wine. I am definitely coming back!

Nestled in the former Chateau Julien Wine Estate, Folktale Winery & Vineyards offers a unique and enchanting setting for wine enthusiasts. The winery's focus on producing bright and acidic varieties sets it apart from others in the area. It is also a sought-after venue for weddings, with options ranging from intimate elopements to grand celebrations. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings paired with light fare and take in the picturesque surroundings of the Vineyard house.
As a solo guest I had a wonderful time! The vineyard is beautiful with beautiful landscaping. I did not go on the tour, but I was able to enjoy the flatbread pizza and reserve wine flight. The pizza was delicious! It's definitely a mist try. I had the BBQ chicken. Lots of flavor, the crust cooked to perfection and the fresh cilantro was a great finishing touch. The flights were great! Such a big pour for the flights, I honestly couldn't finish it😅. Excellent customer service! The ladies were accommodating, I needed lots of sun. There is an outdoor veranda that's nicely shaded and several umbrellas. I really enjoyed the live music, food and relaxing!

I cannot say enough great things about Folktale! The tasting room is a super nice place to relax, the food is wonderful, the servers are great, and it's very dog friendly! I consider myself a bit of a wine snob and can honestly say I LOVE all Folktale wines- we are proud members of the wine club. My husband and I also had the perfect experience of having our wedding here, we were married on the Rose Vineyard, and had our reception at the Vineyard House. It was an absolutely beautiful place, everyone had a great time, and the food was great! Couldn't have picked a better spot.

Is you have the chance don't pass up a visit to Folktale! We got there on a busy Saturday but they managed to find us a nice table. After hearing it was out first visit out waiter (Nick) brought us a complimentary taste of their rose sparkling wine which was very good. We are Pinot Noir fans so we ended up buying a bottle of that and some food. The Pinot was delicious, light but full of flavor. The grounds are magical at sunset and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will definitely return.

Very nice and dog friendly. We love the decor and vibes of the place. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Food was good. They even have 3 different options for dogs. They should have a doggie menu. We almost didn’t ask.

We love visiting Folktale Winery because of the beautiful setting and great service. We are members and we appreciate being greeted with a glass of champagne and complimentary wine. The menu is great with many choices and great presentation- ingredients are frequently local and very fresh. Our favorites include salads, artichoke dip, octopus, hummus. Our kids love pepperoni, pizza. It is great that our children can play around the lawn area and play corn hole , having a good time as well. This is definitely a great benefit for parents and families with children. We had several celebrations at the winery and every time they went smooth and the staff made us feel special (Dan and Daniel are amazing, Jesus is doing a great job too!). We love pick up parties, even though lately kids were not allowed to join, which is sad, because it makes it much more difficult for us to come. But overall, it’s always a great experience in a beautiful setting. Beautiful sunsets are complimentary:-)

Folktale Winery is SUCH a special place! The consideration and hospitality of the team is what set this place apart and is why I joined the Wine Club. Free glasses / flights every time I come in?! Yes, please! First of all - the atmosphere of the Wine Garden is unlike any "tasting room" in the Carmel area. The beautiful space and idyllic chateau create the perfect backdrop for any celebration. The wines themselves are bright and ready to drink on these late summer days. Nat, the winemaker, seems to always be around the property or walking through the garden, eager to chat and show off some of their latest wines. What creativity! I've found wine varietals and styles at Folktale that I've never heard of before, and they keep bringing more in! As you might imagine, in a space as beautiful as this, the wine labels themselves are works of art. Clearly the space itself is worth a look just for its beauty! ...but the real magic is in the people that bring Folktale Vineyards to life. My Wine Educator sat with us as they took us through our flight and chatted not only about the wine but about us. It was personal. I learned about the wines, about the community, and the family that is Folktale. The kitchen served up some AMAZING food - that Sweet Heat pizza is fire! And I think I could enjoy the Spinach and Artichoke Dip everyday forever! Big thank you to the team for such a great experience!! I'll see you next weekend for some live music in the garden, great food with the best wine tasting, and excellent company!

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Folktale Winery & Vineyards. It was a sunny day so I ate on their patio which has umbrellas to provide shade. I had the artichoke dip with their recommended White Witch wine, a blend of Roussane, Marsanne, Grenache Blanco and Viognier. The artichoke dip was excellent, served with warm, lightly toasted bread. I chose Folktale because they serve food with their wine which helps metabolize the alcohol before hitting the road. My waiter/education expert informed me that they have live music every week so check out their website for details.

We had an amazing experience at Folktale Winery & Vineyards. We came for a tasting after reading such good reviews and checking out the website. Everything was better than we hoped. Our server, Nick, was very helpful talking about each wine for our tasting. His recommendations were fantastic and really paired well with the charcuterie board we enjoyed. The best wine was the Ode to the Sea - highly recommend! We also had the clam chowder, which was surprisingly excellent. Unfortunately, we arrived just as the band was winding down for the night, but it would have been great to enjoy that atmosphere as well.

Kathy's Little Kitchen is a small, affordable spot known for its quick service and friendly staff. The breakfast burrito comes highly recommended, and the Chile Rellenos plate, rice, beans, and Vegetarian Burrito are also popular choices. The Mexican food here is well-prepared with correct seasoning and generous portions. It's a great place for takeout or to grab a quick bite while exploring the area.
We visited Carmel Valley in April 2025. One evening, we had dinner in Kathy's Little Kitchen. We used the outside seating even though it was a little chilly. We ordered several dishes. The prices were amazingly cheap, especially considering the area. The food was tasty and plentiful. We were quite happy with our experience. We will definitely go back there if we get another chance.

Cheapest place around, but the quality reflects that too. The chicken salad was quite disappointing 🤣 plain lettuce with dry chicken, for the most part. Guacamole was not even guacamole - just looked and tasted like liquified plain avocado. Fair for the price, I suppose…?

I used to be a regular patron on weekends until I moved out of Monterey County. I decided to pay a visit after some years and let me tell you, their food tastes as good as I can remember. The chiles rellenos are one of their specialties and they never disappoint! Their tacos de chorizo are generous in portion and their aguas frescas are very refreshing. I used to order their menudo almost every weekend back and it was good. I am sure it continues to be as good. Hopefully, I can return more often. I highly recommend checking out this little Mexican eatery.

As a breakfast burrito self described snob, the bacon avocado breakfast burrito is the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. I would eat this for breakfast every day of the rest of my life. Pico de gallo was fresh, bacon I got extra crispy and the avocado was perfect. “Chefs Kiss” is what I think the cool kids are saying these days

I gave 5 stars for everything because the food was delicious. The service matched the venue and the atmosphere was exactly what I expected for a little restaurant that was described to us as a hole in the wall. I like authenticity. It had outdoor seating, which I love lots of locals there on their lunchtime.

Amazing place to eat. We came as a family for breakfast and I had the Huevos Rancheros, a few ordered the breakfast burritos, and one had the pancakes and eggs and bacon. Make sure you ask for what spice level dishes are served, I like things a little spicier and the Huevos Rancheros was amazing, you can ask for the green sauce if you want it not so spicy. The breakfast burritos were packed with fresh bacon, potatoes and eggs. We sat outside and even though the main road is right there it was pleasant to sit outside in the morning. The staff was so kind and food came out promptly, prices were fair, we will be returning soon.

Thai Village is a lovely Thai restaurant with a patio that overlooks the Carmel Valley. The service was wonderful and the food was even better, specially the pumpkin curry which was paired perfectly with hot sauce. The atmosphere here is very peaceful and relaxing.
Carmel Valley is tucked away in the forests and mountains, and this little restaurant is would have been hidden away from me, if I didn't intend to go check out the historical society nearby. But MY GOODNESS, am I glad I visited this place! I may not know what authentic Thai food tastes like, but I AM an expert in what I like! The Soup Noodles were GREAT! The Meat they put in here was packed! Plus, the ratio of soup and noodles, were right for me! The noodles were soft, but chewy enough, and the meat was cooked to the point of being soft, but still with some feedback to it, and still full of its basic flavor! I was hoping to avoid spicy foods because of my recovering stomach issues, but the spice here was light, and I was able to hold things down! Beautiful place onlooking the forest mountains! If it wasn't so far away, I'd come back here more often!

I have been in the US for many days and I want to eat vegetables. I passed by the valley town and stayed there, so I went to this restaurant for dinner. There was no one in the restaurant. After we went in, the waiter forced us to order drinks, but I really didn't want to drink unhealthy Coke or Sprite. But then I heard them mocking us in the kitchen. They said that this person seemed to be Chinese, and his English was not very good, so he didn't order drinks. Then I heard the chef mocking us in the kitchen, saying "water, water, water". In the end, we ordered stir-fried vegetables and rice noodles, and ordered a cup of Thai milk tea for face. The waiter also asked if we wanted meat with the stir-fried vegetables? He continued to make terrible sales pitches. But I just want to eat vegetables and don't want to eat meat! Sure enough, this cup of Thai milk tea is far worse than the authentic Thai milk tea, full of syrup flavor. At the end of the payment, the price was different from the menu. He increased the price on our bill, and after being discovered, he explained that the menu had not been updated. I don't believe you!我信你个鬼!

This was an amazing lunch. I came across Carmel Valley by chance when I realized there was a bus line that runs there, am I glad I stayed on the bus to explore this area and find this restaurant! The patio dining in the sun with a view of the valley was priceless. A lovely patron who was also sunbathing invited me to join her, it was great to know we were experiencing the same bliss on the patio. I went for the pumpkin curry and it was paired really nicely with hot sauce, there were other lunch specials available I would have loved to try. The staff were remarkably kind, from the female server who acknowledged everyone by “dear” to the other gentleman introducing that he was from El Salvador and loves to work at this location for the ambiance. I can definitely see why, it was one of my most peaceful meals.

Empty on a Friday at 7 so we were a little skeptical, but wanted Thai food so whatever. Food blew us away! Spicy noodles rocked! Papaya salad was great and so was the green curry. After a wine tasting across the street we grabbed a quick lunch here. The green salad was amazingly fresh and tasty. The chicken pesto sandwich was tasty too. (I just wish it was on crusty ciabatta bread that I'm used to) It seemed as though the bread was like a soft sub sandwich bread. Still, happy to have a nice lunch place in Carmel Valley.

We stopped here because it’s a local spot and it seemed like a favorite from visitors. After a day of golf we where definitely hungry. They served breakfast and lunch. As you go inside you can seat yourself. Service was a bit slow. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which they had good flavor not enough gravy. My wife ordered the English muffin with egg, bacon and cheese came with a side of potatoes. One of my sons had the 2 egg breakfast and the other the omelette. The dishes that came with potatoes where not thoroughly cooked. The service was not the best either never got a top off on my coffee. I love supporting local spots but when they don’t check quality that just doesn’t fly. Also but expensive, if paying $12 for a side of breakfast sausage I expect better service.

This place was alright. First, of course, because of the area, the clientele were mostly old white people drinking wine. Second, there was a guy playing guitar and singing. He was pretty good! The food - sliders were not bad. Fries were yum. They almost seemed to be tempura fried. I had a strawberry cider that was excellent. Wait staff - outstanding. I would go back anytime just because of them.

We enjoyed this restaurant so much at dinner that we went back the very next day for lunch. The food was excellent both times—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. While the vegetarian options were a bit limited, what they offered was delicious and thoughtfully done. Dinner had a lively, almost noisy atmosphere, which added energy but made conversation a little tricky. The staff at dinner was attentive and fantastic, though lunch service the next day felt slower and a bit distracted by comparison. Still, overall, it’s a spot well worth visiting.

Latin American restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience that showcases authentic Mexican and Latin cuisine, look no further than Plaza Linda Restaurant. This charming eatery prides itself on offering healthy options, including vegetarian-friendly dishes. Each day, they craft their own chips, salsas, and sauces from scratch—plus a special house mix for their refreshing Margaritas!
I'll start by saying that this place is very special for my husband and me. My husband and I were just friends, and he invited me to this beautiful place in July 2016, we loved the food, and the most special thing that day was my husband confessed his love to me. We have returned several times because the food is delicious, the service is excellent. Without a doubt we recommend this cozy place, with wonderful service and mouth-watering food. We returned again to celebrate our miracle baby and the owners became her grandparents ❤️. The heart of the owners is priceless ❤️ in every dish you can taste that it was made with all of their hearts 💕

The best salsa around. Very fresh and light. This little gem of a restaurant makes you feel like you are still at home eating your meal. The Puerto Vallarta was THE BEST enchilada plate I have had on the central coast, melt in your mouth delicious. I am looking forward to returning.

3rd time ordering food. And it just gets worse each time. Prawn ceasr is medium frozen shrimp. And the chicken salad one was terrible with 3 slices of strawberries barely any chicken and a small portion also $15 for guac and chips that tastes store bought

Great place for lunch and worth the short drive if you're in the Monterey area. Quaint little place with amazing food and excellent service. Lots of locals were there when we visited and that's a sure sign of a good place!

Plaza Linda is a family-owned Mexican restaurant in Carmel Valley Village, which shares its location with several wine tasting rooms in the East End Wine Row. It's the perfect spot for a great dinner after an afternoon of wine tasting. Every time we've been here the food and service have been excellent. They have a very nice selection of enchiladas, tamales, tacos, burritos, chile rellenos, pupusas, and seafood dishes. I recently tried the Puerto Vallarta, which is a platter with two crab meat and shrimp enchiladas cooked with a special blend of sauces cooked in white wine and mushrooms. A very tasty dish and probably some of the best enchiladas I've had in whole Monterey area. Most dishes come with rice and seasoned black beans, which are also nicely prepared and very tasty. Plaza Linda has a full bar, which is a nice feature when you consider that a lot of other Mexican restaurants in the area only serve wine and beer. It's great to have the option of a Margarita to drink with your dinner. They also have a beautiful outdoor seating area and a couple of tables have built-in fire pits in case you want some fresh air when it's a little nippy outside. Highly recommended.

This cornerside Mexican dining is definitely upscale and spot on with creating an inviting ambiance. Located at the end of town walking distance from several hotels, it was an easy choice, especially after a local resident mentioned homemade Papusas. So we ventured a visit. Menu prices were a little steep, but the flavor impact made the blow softer. We talked with one of the owners, they are 2 brothers who appear to be successfully catering to the community and offering a specialty to all the visitors. There were regulars present at the bar, and many locals who shared stories about what they love on the menu. My wife ordered the Coyotito chicken salad which exploded with flavor pairings and included a perfectly constructed quesadilla as the crouton. I ordered the Two Papusas, which looked simple, but packed a punch, an amazing combination of flavor with the cabbage salad and tomato sauce. Let’s not forget the bar selections, they have a plethora of tequilas, which can be ordered individually, a la margarita, or in flights. We had a house margarita and a premium with Patron. They feature their homemade sweet and sour mix, but it was a miss for us, it tasted too watered down. All in all, we would return for more tastiness, I hope they continue to remain successful.

The grassy area provides space for games and relaxation, with cozy seating under tall trees. Guests can order food to enjoy in the picnic area, along with coffee, ice cream, and smoothies. The organic garden is a delightful place to stroll and admire the fruit trees and berry shrubs.
We missed the tulip upick, but made it to the ranunculus. Dahlias and sunflowers available in the summer time. The farmstand has beautiful, unblemished from transportation, produce. We even enjoyed a straus creamery soft serve ice cream. The flower upick is available to the public Fr Sa Su. Pay before going to the field. $25 for 12 stems, or one larger option. May also buy pre cut or arranged flowers from the farmstand.

We had an incredible experience stopping here for lunch on our way to Big Sur! If you're traveling with little ones, this place is an absolute gem! There's a fantastic kids' play area that keeps them entertained while you relax. It was the perfect pit stop, and we couldn't have asked for a better break on our journey!

Earthbound farms has been a must go to stop every fall for us. There is an amazing farm stand with cafe drinks, snacks, flowers and produce. There are photo op chairs and a kids tent and garden. I love the pumpkin sculptures and the different colors and sizes of pumpkins to pick from. Great family spot!!!
Denica F — Google review
A great spot for u-pick flowers in spring. Tulips bloom first, then ranunculus and iris. When you're done picking, stop by the cafe to have a bite and beverage, then walk the garden grounds before doing some grocery shopping.

Catering to families with little kids, the farm stand is also great for a quick lunch. Salad bar, coffees, smoothies, bakery, and sandwiches are the standard fare. Outdoor area include a giant Sequoia, labyrinth, gardens and raspberry bushes for sampling. Also good place to pick up veggies and flowers.

Amazing coffee and such a lovely atmosphere here! So nice to be surrounded by flowers and hills and hummingbirds while enjoying a delicious breakfast. Would come here again in a heartbeat. I only wish I lived closer!
Meg V — Google review
My brother and I have been coming here since our very first memories. The photo may be from somewhere else for all I know, but Earthbound’s annual pumpkin patch, flower-picking, fresh produce bites at the food stand, and the magical atmosphere makes it one of my most cherished spots growing up in the Carmel. They’ve done a fantastic job renovating it, if you’re visiting Carmel (whether you have kids or not) PLEASE come see this staple and grab yourself a smoothie to sit down with in the gorgeous yard area next to the fields!

The atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was exceptional. They even brought pizzas from the neighboring business and allowed us to enjoy wine tasting alongside our meal. The wine samples were excellent, and the elote pizza was creative and amazing.

We decided to go through Carmel Valley and stop for some wine tasting since the Pacific Coast Highway was closed due to a landslide. Highly recommended. The area is full of wineries and tasting rooms and the views of the valley are incredible. We stopped at Cowgirl Winery and got 2 sets of wine tasting flights. It was a great chance to learn more about Californian wine. The place was beautiful, you can have your wine in this amazing garden.

Georis Winery is a charming spot with lush gardens and an adobe-style tasting room that's perfect for photos. Despite being closed on Wednesdays, the spacious tasting room offers a great atmosphere with leather chairs and tables, while the outside area features patio tables tucked away in the beautiful gardens. The friendly staff provides excellent service, making it a must-visit even if you're not much of a wine drinker.
Wonderful experience here with an incredible set of different wine flights to try in a beautiful garden. The cafe across the street is owned by the family and serves food, and if you go up the street you can also taste at Cowgirl, same owners bit with a completely different look and feel. While the ask about the story and background on the Endless Summer wines.

We wanted to do a little wine tasting at a vineyard in Carmel. Unfortunately, they were all closed on a Wednesday. However, we came upon Georis tasting room. It had a great atmosphere and even though it wasn’t a vineyard, you sat out in the garden and felt like you were in one. The tasting room itself is large with leather chairs and tables. The outside has several patio tables with umbrellas tucked away in the gardens or right off the tasting room. There’s even a bocce ball court, which is fun. Alexander greeted us and told us about the wines and the vineyard itself. He was so friendly and provided great information to learn about their wine. Food is available at Georis from the restaurant across the street, which is a sister property. We ordered the charcuterie board which was substantial and had a great variety of things to enjoy. The wine tasting we chose had five different varieties for $30. My husband and I shared the tasting as the pours were generous. I would recommend this tasting room, not only for the wine, but for the wonderful outside garden to enjoy the wine.

This is a really wonderful spot to spend a rainy afternoon: wine, food, warm fire and comfy chairs. As a bonus, the wine attendant is also an amazing pianist and will play a set here and there!

This is my girlfriend’s favorite winery. I’m not much of a wine drinker but I was amazed by the experience they’ve created at Georis. Post Covid has been tough for a lot of businesses but the staff here remains friendly and provide great services. From what I’ve heard and many other reviews have stated, the wine here is excellent and the flights are fairly priced. Overall, if you’re in the area I would highly recommend, we sat with some friends in the outside patio and had a great time.

Love coming here. Staff is always courteous and friendly. I love sitting out in the garden looking at all the plants. Wine is delicious. Highly recommend their charcuterie, too.

Chilled bottle of Rosé was so tasty on this warm evening. There is plenty of shaded seating and the scenery is pleasant. There are plenty of other wineries walking distance if curiosity melts the cat :P also if you’re in the mood for some olive oil tasting head over to Quail & Olive in the corner for a unique experience . Cheers! 🥂

The Holman Ranch Tasting Room offers an intimate and elevated wine-tasting experience, with the option to also book a vineyard tour. Visitors have praised the personal and relaxing atmosphere, as well as the friendly and gracious hosts. The tasting room is located in a historic building with outdoor patio seating, an open seating arrangement inside with a fireplace, and a small gift shop. Guests have recommended trying the Kelly Pinot Noir and the reserve Chardonnay for their exceptional quality.
Had a great time today at the Holman Ranch Tasting Room. We did the five wine tasting and sat outside in the back. The wines were all estate wines and were very good and of course we bought a few bottles. We also ordered the cheese and fruit plate with honey that was very good. Elizabeth, the tasting room manager, waited on us and we had a really good time interacting with her. She's excellent! We will be back!

Both Chardonnay and Pinot Noire were delicious, as the cheese platter too, but it would be great if they had more choices for food items in their menu.

Had a lovely afternoon tasting wine at the Holman Tasting Room. Elizabeth was super knowledgeable and very accommodating- we very much enjoyed talking to her about wine and the region. Wines were top notch. Especially love the Chardonnay, 3 Sisters Pinot Noir, and Syrah. Very nice cheese and charcuterie board. Definitely recommend checking them out.

Zoe and the team are awesome! We visit every time we are in Carmel. Today they had a frozen yogurt pop up, so fun! Three sisters, Pinot rose, and the Syrah are wonderful.

What an amazing, perfect wine tasting experience. This tasting room should be beyond anyone's expectations. It's located in a historic building, has outdoor patio seating and a lovely inside open seating arrangement with a lovely fireplace and small gift shop. We arrived promptly for our reservation and was greeted and welcomed. We were surprised by the personalized tasting menu that had our name on it. Zoe was just overall an excellent and perfect host for wine tasting. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and just overall made us feel welcomed. One of the surprises was that they give you the correct glass for each wine that you taste; I haven't experience this even in Napa Valley. Also, they give you some water and Chex mix. They have a menu of cheeses, crackers and charcuterie board to purchase. All of the wines were great. Our favorites were the rose sparkling and Hunter's Cuvee Pinot Noir. Such an excellent experience and wonderful time here tasting the variety of wines that are all grown on their estate. We had an amazing time and we know that we'll be back while visiting Carmel by the Sea. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

We had an amazing experience at Holman. We absolutely loved getting to make our own cheese board and we thought was so unique! The tasting experience was great! The staff here is amazing and elizabeth and Zoee are wonderful. The tasting room is absolutely beautiful as well. We can’t wait to visit again soon and we’re looking forward to our wines as we joined the wine club as well! Thank you for an amazing experience, it really made our trip 100 times more memorable. I highly recommend this tasting room for an authentic and luxurious tasting experience.

We’ve had the best day at Holman! We love our wines and have been to multiple wineries and tastings, and this has beaten them all hollow! A very personal and relaxing wine tasting experience, friendly, gracious and patient hosts and really good wines! We went home with the Kelly Pinot Noir. This is a really beautiful winery with amazing wines to pair this experience with! We had the best New Year’s Eve and are so glad to have found a real gem. Lovely scenery along the way from the Bay Area.

This place was amazing, especially if you like pinot and rosè. It's in a historic building but also has two patios. They provide the correct type of glass for each type of wine you taste. They also have cheese and meat plates for purchase. The tasting we had was done by Zoe, she really made the experience special. She was knowledgeable and had a lot of information about each wine we tried.

On our first visit to Carmel Valley, we discovered a charming, boutique tasting room that immediately caught our eye with its unique name and inviting vibe. Curious, we decided to step inside—and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality and enthusiasm. They guided us through the tasting options with detailed explanations, allowing us to fully appreciate the craftsmanship behind each pour. As we sampled a variety of wines, we learned about the winemaking family’s story and passion, which added a meaningful connection to each glass. The standout for me was their Cyrano red blend—an elegant fusion of Merlot and Syrah. Rich, smooth, and full of character, it’s a wine I’ll definitely be coming back for. The label design also deserves a mention: sophisticated with a modern flair, it features a nod to Cyrano de Bergerac, tying in cleverly with the winery’s slogan, “The nose knows.” Overall, this tasting room is a hidden gem in Carmel Valley—a perfect blend of excellent wine, thoughtful storytelling, and a memorable atmosphere. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a stop.

Such incredible red wines!! This was my first stop in Carmel but I felt like I didn’t event need to visit any other tasting rooms afterwards. Their wines have so much depth, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the team was super friendly. The owner was visiting while I was there and it was great to briefly chat and laugh with him too. Beautiful prints of the matriarch’s quilt work! I’ll be back…for sure. <3

We dropped in without a reservation at 4:45, not realizing they close at 5. Despite their tastings ending at 4:15, they were more than willing to accommodate us for a tasting and did not rush us. All of the ladies were very kind, very informational, and overall curated a great experience for us. Their wines were spectacular. I'm not typically into red wines, but I thoroughly enjoyed their red flight. I highly recommend you check them out!

Nestled in the heart of Carmel Valley Village, Running Iron is a delightful eatery that captures the essence of a classic cowboy bar while offering a family-friendly atmosphere. You gotta visit just for the decorations!! Cowboy theme extravaganza!!! Some kinda creepy, but so fun. Burger was very good!! Cooked well and came out juicy. The blue cheese was good quality. A friend had the fried chicken and said it was excellent. Another recommended the Patty Melt. But it's really all about the decorations!! The ceiling and walls are covered in old boots, animal skins, animal heads, signs, saddles, horns, pictures, chairs, hats, etc. etc. etc. We were told by two locals during our wine tastings that this is the bar all locals come to at night. The service was excellent!! Really wish I remember the server's name, but she has as much character as the restaurant does!!! Loved chatting with her. She gave us some excellent wine tasting recommendations too!!

I agree with the others, this place is a definite must-stop if you’re in the area! I didn’t eat here(though the food looked good), but the bar experience was fantastic; the bartender (sorry I forget her name) was perhaps the best bartender I’ve ever encountered! And there is so much ‘atmosphere and ambiance’; just grab a draft, have a seat and enjoy the ride!

What a hidden gem I found in Carmel Valley! Pet-friendly terrace, wonderful service, inexpensive price with super big quantity, and yum! very delicious pizza! To clarify the confusion, you can order menus of Stirup Cup Pizza here at Running Iron. My husband and I wanted some pizza after the hike at Garland park. We needed an outdoor seating to be seated with our dog. You can order pizza and eat at Running Iron! We sat with our dog at the terrace at Running Iron and ordered pizza from Stirup Cup Pizza. I ordered stuffed deep dish pizza with the menu #4 and a basket of curly fries. The portions are crazy here! The basket of curly fries was HUGE and delicious! We could not finish the medium-sized pizza. Wow, the stuffed deep dish was very creative. You should definitely try. And Connie, our waitress, was so nice and friendly. I mean, honestly, all of the staffs that served our table were so nice and kind. They seemed to enjoy their job. I genuinely appreciate their service. Of course, I am going to visit here AGAIN!

We ate breakfast here this morning. It has a old time western feel. We been here many times over the years and the food has always been really good! Our server Carol was excellent, and we had a fun time with her. We had an omelet with Jack cheese, Avocado and mushrooms. We also had the banana Pecan Buttermilk pancakes. Both were really good and the two pancakes were so big that I couldn't eat it all! One thing to note is that they only take cash or Venmo.

I've been dining at the Wagon Wheel since 1976! Never disappoints! My 103 year old grandmother would pester me for the scrumptious French toast and their hollandaise sauce has no rival. It's always been a sanctuary for us locals. Bravo 👏 for almost 50 years of the best quality of food, service and valley vibes!

Our server was so kind and genuine! He truly was so sweet and knowledgeable and made our experience amazing! Went around noon and it was so calm and relaxing! Amazing choices of wines from red and whites! Definitely has become one of my favorite wineries.

Really enjoyed my time at Joyce today. The Syrah was very good and the service was excellent. Kerry was very knowledgeable and friendly and the patio is the perfect place to enjoy a nice day.

We fell in love with this place on our first visit a few years ago, taking 3 bottles of their Rose with us to finish over the next few days. The place is beautiful, the service was friendly and not pushy at all, and we are now thrilled that they ship to Ohio, and are looking forward to our first membership shipment soon.

This is an awesome place to bring a dog. They have a huge outdoor area with nice fire pits. I liked that they have good beer too cause I'm not much of a wine drinker. I loved the Mai Tai beer. I usually avoid IPAs but this one was great. Very fruity and not too bitter. Their burrata was delicious. I loved their glazed bread. Even their hummus was very good.

Kerry was a legend and showed us wonderful hospitality and helped us taste some lovely wines. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were our favs. Great expansive outdoor tasting area as well!

Great local wines and super helpful friendly staff. The Gabilan Mountain Syrah was our favorite. Really cool space, both indoor and out.

We rented the beautiful room next to the tasting room for my daughters Baby Shower & it was spectacular! The room is beautiful, perfect for around 20 with a gorgeous table & chairs that comfortably seat 20. The chandelier & Winery design with its barrel tables & chic sofa & side chairs speaks for itself & allows you to cater it how you would like. It also has AC and Charlotte is awesome! Can't say enough great things about it, loved all of it! PS the wine great too!

Chesebro Wines & Art is a hidden gem that truly embodies the spirit of artisanal winemaking. With a production of 300 cases or fewer, this winery focuses on both unique and classic varietals, ensuring each bottle reflects genuine varietal expression. Visitors are welcomed by friendly hosts who create a relaxed atmosphere perfect for families; there's even a basket of toys to keep kids entertained while parents savor their wine selections.
I spent a really nice evening at the Chesebro tasting room and the wine selection is amazing! They offer so many varieties of delicious and aromatic wines! As someone who is new to wine tasting and drinking, the gentleman was really informative and took the time to listen to me describe the wines I have tried before, and suggest ones I might like. He didn’t do that…. He introduced me to wines I LOVE!!! Another thing to mention, THEY HAVE INCREDIBLE ART! With some of my favorite pieces that really capture the gold and green scenes of the Carmel Valley by Caroline Mitchel!!!Definitely will be back again!!!

I loved this quaint winery. I tried several wines and the hard cider. The cider was excellent served with pork and grits and zucchini casserole. It was liked by all. Also enjoyed the other wines there. They have some unusual wines that I found intriguing. Great service and enjoyable location. They have a rotating art gallery which fun and you can check out local artists while you enjoy the wine.

Love this place. Guy behind the counter was super friendly and talkative. We enjoyed our tasting and his stories. They have a lot of unique wines. And even I prefer usually red wine I found there my first Chardonnay which I love. Also they have nice no obligation membership. You can cancel any time plus you pay exactly just for those bottles you choose for your delivery which will cost you 15% less. So everytime before delivery they send you a list with all wine options and you choose what you want and you pay for that.

We totally enjoyed our visit and wine tasting. It was a wonderful experience, great host and great wines. Thank you so much to Ross who shared his knowledge and warm hospitality. It was great to meet Mark the owner as well. We bought some great wines after the tasting.

We love this winery. It's more value-oriented than the others in the area, with equal or better quality to the others in town. The hosts are knowledgeable, friendly, laid back, and welcome kids. They even have a basket of toys to keep them occupied while the parents imbibe. As area residents and sommeliers, we avoided becoming wine club members of any local wineries so we could spend time at all of them. We joined Chesebro because of the great wine, every day drinking prices, and family-friendliness.

The brand's dedication to reviving historic grapes and vineyards in the area has resulted in exceptional wines that stand out. This family-owned establishment offers a warm and cozy atmosphere, where visitors can enjoy unique vineyard designate Grenache and Cabernet Franc wines. The owners, Heather and Ian, are known for their hospitality, often personally greeting guests and creating a welcoming environment.
We had a tasting by Angie, who was absolutely wonderful. She was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wine and brought a certain something to a tasting. Ian also stopped in so we had a lovely conversation with him as well. What a treat!!

We went by the tasting room at the start of our long weekend getaway and had a great time. Will, Angie and Erin took great care of us and explained the wines we were tasting and where they were from, what they like, etc (all in a friendly and welcoming way). There are some great food options nearby for those not familiar with the area too.

Will and Vince were fantastic hosts for our wine tasting for our bachelorette group. They provided valuable insights on the wines and offered great recommendations for the rest of our stay in town. All the wines we sampled were great. Can't wait to come back!

Great addition to the Carmel Valley wine tasting scene. Sleek, modern tasting room. Erin was a great hostess. Six pours for $14 -- waived when we purchased two bottles. Some lovely wines. Amazing price.

Loving I-brands delicious wine! These guys are local, family owned, lovely people. Their vineyard designate Grenache and Cabernet Franc, are super unique... you don't taste these anywhere else. The vibe and space is warm and cozy and guess what Heather and Ian the owners, said hi, paid us attention and even played Rolling Stones for us (regardless that it was my birthday!) ❤❤❤❤Heather and OMG Viognier "the bee keeper" are to die for and lined priced $22. Definitely worth stopping in when your visiting Carmel Valley.

Joullian Vineyards in Carmel Valley Village is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts. The winery boasts excellent wines that keep visitors coming back, thanks to the expertise of master winemaker Ridge Watson. Visitors can enjoy a pleasant tasting experience at the Joullian tasting room and even have the opportunity to participate in wine blending or wine flaws classes with Ridge.
Nathan gave us a lovely afternoon as we sampled both an a la carte white flight and the reserve red flight. I loved the Sauvignon Blanc, and it was so pleasant sitting out on the deck.

What a special place. We had a tour of the winery & Vineyard and it was better than any tour we’ve ever experienced. The winemaker, Matt, told us about his winemaking process and we sampled the wines right out of the barrel. We then proceeded to see the vineyards and enjoy more of their wonderful wines. I highly recommend this place and I cannot wait to come back and visit.
Jane H — Google review
This spot was the first on our wine tasting tour in Carmel Valley. Definitely would pass on this spot because we were not greeted warmly even though it wasnt busy. Never told about the history of the vinyard or family growing. Wine was ok but service not really on par with others. Try Talbotts for good wine tasting or Cowgirl for wine tasting plus outdoor entertainment!
David H — Google review
The wine was good but the service VERY RUDE. Left a bad taste in my mouth, couldn't enjoy the wine. BTW consider moving your outdoor seating area especially if not going to clear out your septic tank but all I could smell was SH&% with a hint on Syrah!

Great wines. Not as busy as most of the other tasting rooms we visited, but that was actually a good thing. That meant great and friendly service. I would definitely recommend Joullian.

This is hands down our favorite winery and tasting room. I highly recommend booking a visit to tour the vineyard! It was such a special experience. Their wine is delicious too!!

Joullian Vineyards is one reason why so many people come back again and again to the Carmel Valley for so many excellent wines. Ridge Watson is a master winemaker and his knowledge of wine and wine making is always impressive. Drop by the Joullian tasting room in Carmel Valley Village for a genuinely pleasant experience. If you get a chance to take one of Ridge's classes in wine blending or wine flaws don't pass up the opportunity. Hint: Ridge always shares a special vintage from his library at the end of each class.

Chateau Sinnet Winery and Vineyards offers an impressive variety of wines, with a humorous and distinctive wine server named Sonny adding to the unique experience. This is not a place for pretentious wine enthusiasts, but rather for those who enjoy having fun. The winery itself has a peculiar charm that makes it well worth visiting. Their selection includes not only red and white wines, but also dessert wines, with the almond champagne being particularly outstanding.
Good wines. Sonny, the wine server, is a funny character and makes the experience different and interesting. Wine snobs need not go here. Fun people should! It is a strange place, well worth the visit.
Joseph D — Google review
Mixed, very mixed feelings. The ambiance was fine. The salesperson, Sonny, passed himself off as owner, vintner, and several other positions. He was brash and abrasive, coming across as a cartoon character trying to sell a defective used car. Bottom line: he was annoying! Had the wines not been above average, we would have walked out in seconds. The wines at Chateau Sinnet are good enough to sell themselves without the antics of a non-stop sales pitch. They are that good. So good in fact, the we ignored the sales pitch and bought the product. Interestingly, the sales pitch defervesced and annoying antics disappeared immediately upon arrival of the owner. This is a strange place. OVERALL: WEIRD. Would probably NOT return here.
Jaime P — Google review

Best wine we tried in the valley! The owner owns the vineyard and processing of his own wine. You can tell he puts a lot of love and passion into his craft.

Rombi Wines is a red wine lover’s dream. The cabernet was my personal favorite—rich, smooth, and everything you'd want in a glass. Sal will take great care of you, and if you get the chance, ask him about the history of his vineyard. The stories are just as good as the wine (well, almost). Don’t miss this spot if you’re anywhere near Carmel Valley.
Shannon A — Google review
My husband and I recently took our honeymoon vacation. One of our stops was in Carmel, CA. We had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Rombi at his tasting room and sampling his wine. Wow! Hands down, he produces the best red wine we have ever had! In addition, Mr. Rombi was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I'm so happy we stopped by there. We enjoyed our time at the tasting room very much and even brought some wine home with us to enjoy now and on our wedding anniversary. We also plan to order more wine in the future! I highly recommend Rombi wines.
Sarah D — Google review
We live in the village and belong to several wine clubs. Rombi has the best red wines in the valley (they only have red wines). Sal, the owner, is very knowledgeable about wines and the wine making process. He is a pleasure to talk to and makes for a wonderful visit. Open on Saturdays and Sundays. The petit verdot wine is phenomenal.

Wonderful garden to sit and enjoy your wine . The staff were gregarious, welcoming and attentive. We tasted both regular wines and the premium wines. I’m pleasantly surprised their wines no sulfite and from organically grown grapes. My favorites are Cabernet Franc and Verdot. They have catered foods to have with your wine. I have smoked salmon and bruschetta. Highly recommended!

Small venue, featuring outdoor sculptures ,indoor intimate but casual setting, fantastic tasting menu ....and then some. Lunch served sat and Sundays with chef Steven Jones, formerly of cachagua general store, who caters out on other days. Friendly and inviting, I noticed that ,not only do the have wine tasting, outdoor unique sculpture garden with little vingette seating areas,. You can enjoy ,yet be socially distant, but they have improved on the property of the former heller /durney proprietors. The even had really cute cloth masks for sale!!! Put this on your to do list , it's in Carmel valley village, on left side as you head east from hwy 1 or laureles grade

Great wine, friendly folks. We loved the rosé and bordeaux and took home a couple bottles. We’re generally sensitive to hangovers from sulfites and felt great drinking wines from Massa… Wishing we had time to come back for Sunday brunch. Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon & chantrelles?! Wowza.

These wines really are made with organic grapes — a rarity in Carmel Valley and the Monterey area. Clean ingredients, friendly tasting room staff, and red and white wines definitely worth drinking are what you’ll find here. Plus, peacocks! (Note that the white wines, at least the ones tgat we tasted, were made with non-organic grapes... though it seemed like that may be changing ?)

LOVED this little winery!! Great wines and a great owner! A group of 10+ of us ladies on a bachelorette party stopped here within an hour of closing in Sept 2021. The owner was super helpful and attentive! We bought quite a few bottles to go, and some great merchandise! (I just finished my candle and I'm about to book a trip back just to get another!) We also got some appetizers from the restaurant next door that we were able to bring over; would recommend!
Kate P — Google review
My husband and I popped in here on a whim after another winery was "reservation only" and we are so glad that we did! We were able to walk right into the tasting room and get seats at the bar. The owner, Lenora, was our server and she was just fabulous! My husband and I each did a tasting flight and at the end we each decided to purchase 2 bottles to take home (purchase of bottle waived the tasting flight fee). Lenora was very knowledgable and personable, we had a great convo with her. She gave us some great recommendations of other tasting rooms to check out as well as a wonderful little cheese shop which we also ended up brining back cheese from. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a chill local spot to have a glass or two (or more!) at.
