Oak Ridge in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Oak Ridge, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Oak Ridge, known as the “Secret City,” played a pivotal role in the Manhattan Project, and you can explore this history at the American Museum of Science and Energy and sites within the Manhattan Project National Historical Park. The city also offers outdoor recreation, with miles of greenways, mountain biking trails, and access to Melton Hill Lake for paddling, rowing, and fishing. A strong rowing community and frequent regional events add to the activity on the waterfront. Its location in East Tennessee also makes it a convenient base for visiting Knoxville and the surrounding Appalachian region.
With favorites like El Cantarito Mexican Restaurant, A K Bissell Park, and University of Tennessee Arboretum, Oak Ridge, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like The Soup Kitchen and Kume Japanese Cuisine: Sushi & Hibachi so you can get the best taste of Oak Ridge while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Pizza restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Oak Ridge, Big Ed's Pizza has been a beloved staple since its inception in February 1970. This charming pizzeria boasts an inviting ambiance with classic checkered tablecloths that transport you to a traditional New York-style eatery. Known for its delectable Italian pizzas, Big Ed's has perfected its recipes and ingredient selection over the decades, ensuring each slice is as mouthwatering as the last.
Went here after the owner handed my boyfriend a gift card to come try it out. We LOVED it. The crispy crust was PHENOMENAL & the prices were good! Definitely coming back with the kids; a large pizza could definitely feed a family of 4 with no problems!
Emalee B — Google review
Good pizza! Our family enjoyed it but for the price it was underwhelming. The crust was bland and I wish it had some garlic salt or butter or something. Maybe dipping sauce would have fixed that for us. I did enjoy the veggie pizza with pepperoni added. Honestly though, Dominos hits the spot for a fraction of the price. 👍🏻
Janssen K — Google review
It has been around 25 years since I last ate at Big Ed's. The atmosphere in this place hasn't changed one bit since the 90s. On to the pizza review, my daughter got hamburger and cheese. My mom got pepperoni and mushrooms with olives. I just got the small pepperoni. Great flop on the pizza, crust was good for the most part however the sauce was kinda bland.
Rob — Google review
I was in town on business and everybody said I had to try Big Ed's pizza. I definitely was not disappointed. It was a very busy place but you could tell immediately that the food was going to be amazing. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly. If you're in this area I would definitely recommend it.
Mike — Google review
The pizza was fresh, hot, and cheesy. We raced home & exploded our toilets lol 😆 They don't serve anything else aside from pizza, which surprised us. If you're in the area, it's a great spot for pizza, but we still prefer Gavino's in Knoxville for pizza and Ceasar Salad 🥗.
Mr. F — Google review
What a great place, great pizza and friendly staff. I have been visiting Chattanooga for a few days and this place was a wonderful stop to fill my belly. I will come back.
Rachel B — Google review
Loren was an absolute doll! She took such great care of us and made the whole experience at Big Ed’s Pizza wonderful from start to finish. The service was friendly, quick, and genuine. The pizza itself was amazing — hot, cheesy, and full of flavor. You can really tell they take pride in what they serve.
Suzy K — Google review
Best gluten free pizza I've had lately. Did not get sick and I am Celiac so that really says something! Wish it was closer to me but I will go here anytime we are in the area for sure. Please don't ever stop making the gluten free crust!

Public swimming pool
Oak Ridge Outdoor Pool, originally built in 1944 and renovated in the early 1990s, is a massive spring water-fed pool that is considered one of the largest in the nation. The pool offers ample space for visitors to spread out and relax, with attentive lifeguards ensuring safety. Despite occasional closures of certain areas due to staffing issues, the pool provides a refreshing experience with friendly staff and affordable admission prices.
We absolutely love the Oak Ridge Pool. Even on a crowded day there is plenty of room to enjoy the pool or grassy bank with my family of 5! This pool has a nostalgic feeling you can’t find anywhere else. I’m so thankful my kids are able to have a place this fun to spend time on hot summer days. We have visited this pool many times and always have witnessed vigilante life guards taking their job very seriously. Thankful for that! I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this pool. ❤️
TrioMomma — Google review
Lots of parking and plenty of room even at full capacity.you can bring your own chairs and canopies, food and drinks..”no glass”. The life guards are so on point!! Like prime lifeguards that do fabulous.i heard the alarm twice and both times they were so fast to get people pulled to safety.biggest spring fed pool in the US.
Travis K — Google review
We had SOOO much fun! It is perfect for all ages! You just walk right into the water and it slowly gets deeper as you go and has ropes showing when it gets a lot deeper. It was wonderful!!!
Betty K — Google review
Large pool, good price for admission, you can bring toys and floats, clean and well kept, and the staff are very friendly. Be prepared to bring an extra towel to sit on though. There aren't many tables but the grassy area is pretty big. There is a cool little island in the middle for jumping into the water and a cute toddler splash area. Definitely worth the drive.
Misty K — Google review
Best pool ever! I would spend every summer day there if I could. Water is always so cold and refreshing. Great price and value for your money. Pool is kept nice and clean. Kind, courteous and professional staff. I'm a huge fan!
Leslie J — Google review
Me and the boys had such a good time I love this place it's so big and you can always find your own corner. The staff is really nice and very helpful.
Lori T — Google review
This pool is a fantastic place to visit, I had a wonderful time! The water was the perfect temperature, and the surroundings were very clean. The pool was never overcrowded, so there was plenty of space to swim. The staff was friendly, and the facilities were well-maintained. I highly recommend coming here to beat the heat or enjoy a leisurely swim with friends and family.
Celia C — Google review
It is the absolute best pool we’ve found! PLENTY OF ROOM AROUND THE POOL TO SET A SMALL TENT OR BLANKET OUT. Snow cones are a must!! Very clean and has huge restrooms. Take cash bc sometimes they cannot take a card.

Nature & Parks
A K Bissell Park, situated in Oak Ridge, spans 38 acres and offers various amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park features a paved 1.25-mile loop, picnic shelter, and performance pavilion. Additionally, it is home to The Friendship Bell, an 8,000-lb. bronze bell that serves as a commemorative symbol.
Massively expansive park amidst the municipal buildings. The Eastern section is shaded and contains a pavilion with picnic tables and a few other scattered picnic tables, a modern amphitheater, a modern playground and plenty of squirrels for your dogs to chase. The Western section is huge, open and sunny with crushed pea gravel walking paths, the international friendship bell and a few benches. A great place to bring the kids or leashed dogs with lots of space to walk around or play. The entire park is dissected by an anonymous creek with 2 foot bridges. This park is the launch pad for the annual Independence Day fireworks show and hosts other events as well.
Craig H — Google review
Beautiful open space. Lots of walking space. Cute water feature running through the park, lots of grass, play area for 2-5 year olds... great park in a city setting which doesn't feel like you're in the city!
Sarah P — Google review
I wasn't impressed with this park honestly. It seemed fairly clean except for the restrooms which are at the very far end of the park. There are a few buildings, and being new to the place, we had no idea where to even find them and had to do a lot of extra walking. There are no labels. The playground seemed to be in need of updating as well. The bell is neat, especially the story behind it.
Just J — Google review
Love, love, love this park! There’s a great walking trail all the way around plus a playground for small children! The scenery is beautiful! Great place for the whole family 😀
Lindsey H — Google review
Wonderful park along a stream with bridges, walking trails, a huge amphitheater, playground, a storybook trail, the Secret City Commemorative Walk, and the beautiful Japanese peace bell. A great place to walk around. Adjacent to the Rec Center and the public library.
Sara W — Google review
This is a nice little park across from Oak Ridge High School, with walking trails and a creek flowing through. Not much shade, but there are park benches throughout. The best feature is the Friendship Bell, dedicated to the friendship between Japan and the U.S. after World War 2. It's a beautiful bell, honoring both countries.
Liz W — Google review
A very nice Park. We walked 2 mi everyday around the park. Quiet, clean geese everywhere. The only one thing was not nice is people did not pick up their dog's poop.

Wow, it's cool here, staff is great. Swimming pool, gym, play pool, Bingo, exercise room. Also has friendly Bell outside to ring. Plus a great Center for Older people, the grounds are well kept, a must place to visit in Oakridge Tennessee.

The American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is an educational institution that offers interactive displays focusing on energy, particularly nuclear power. As a Smithsonian affiliate, the museum provides an engaging way for visitors to delve into the city's unique history and explore the innovative advancements achieved over the past 75 years. The museum features interesting exhibits and also offers bus tours of historic Manhattan Project sites such as the X-10 Graphite Reactor.
A hidden gem of Oak Ridge, TN. Museum is small, one afternoon is enough time to see it all. Quality, design, and layout are all excellent. Honestly haven't seen that quality of design and scientific explanation outside of a Smithsonian. Very Highly Recommended.
Julie P — Google review
We had a great time on the tour! It was very informative, and the host very knowledgeable. My grandmother worked on the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge, and it was great to learn more about what her life would have been like there. It was only $15 for a 3.5 hour tour, and definitely worth every penny! I would highly recommend this tour, just be sure to register in advance, as they only do a few tours a week. Thank you for a great day!
Kim M — Google review
Our family loved this tour. It was more than fairly priced. The tour guides, Janet & Jerry were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. All three stops on the trip provided unique insight into various aspects of the Manhattan project and history of Oak Ridge.
Shawna O — Google review
This was our first visit to the museum, and it turned out to be a fascinating place to learn about the Manhattan Project — America’s World War II nuclear program — and to see many original artifacts from that time.
Alex B — Google review
We were visiting in the area and looked forward to attending this museum. We were not disappointed. It was very educational, and a lot of fun. Well we did not attend with children, I think there were enough interactive activities that any child over the age of eight or nine would have enjoyed it quite a bit.
Laura T — Google review
I learned a lot about our Energy history connected to Oak Ridge TN. An interesting display on the Sustainable cleanup of the former sites like K25. There was a great display on the Presidents and their contributions to our Science, Technology and Energy futures. The staff was very helpful answering all my questions.
Mark T — Google review
Overwhelming amount of information but very well done. Definitely worth the admission fee. My favorite part was the gizmo in the children's area that had balls rolling through it. They have a neat gift shop too, full of nerdy things. 😁
Kimberly M — Google review
Very informative and interactive. The volunteer at the front desk was very knowledgeable. Lady at the gift shop was very helpful. Overall a great museum. The only downside was one employee in the James Webb area sitting on her phone playing a game loud enough that you could hear it throughout the back of the museum.

Cinemark Tinseltown Oak Ridge is a chain of movie theaters known for its multiple screens, stadium seats, and self-service ticketing kiosks. Visitors can enjoy reserved seating and heated seats for a comfortable experience. The theater is highly praised for its cleanliness, up-to-date facilities, fresh snacks, crystal-clear screens, and perfect sound quality. Guests appreciate the spacious reclining leather seats that provide an ideal movie-going experience.
Haven’t gone to this theater in a while and I was very surprised. Dylan helped us check out and was so incredibly and friendly to his staff. The food was delicious and I loved the arcade. Not to mention the reclining seats. Safe to say, I WILL be coming back!
Allie M — Google review
I love this theater! It is always clean and I love the reclining seats! It is very comfortable! Be careful though, some of the seats dont work and you get stuck just sitting there upright. Staff is always nice and friendly. Bathrooms are always clean. Prices are fair.
A U — Google review
If I could give no stars I would. DO NOT use the website to purchase tickets in advance, as it glitches out and changes things, like the date you're trying to purchase tickets for. The employees and sorry excuse for a manager on duty lack any understanding of customer service, as they're all children who clearly haven't been trained on much of anything. We were able to get our tickets refunded by the corporate office, however the completely inept and immature manager on duty was rude and of absolutely no help at all. I would not recommend this place unless you want to be talked down to by a bunch of rude teenagers. The manager on duty would not give us her name but we did report her rudeness and complete lack of customer service to the corporate office and hopefully they decide to hire more mature people for their management team in the future.
Shannon C — Google review
We love the clean comfortable theater. So easy to get in and out of. This is one of the best maintained theaters we go to. We have been seeing more and more movies there and it has become our go to theater. We can catch some good snacks to hold us over until supper time. Join the movie club rewards program for better ticket pricing and discounted refreshments. Still a great place to see a current run movie.
GLR — Google review
First time in a theater in over 15 years. Its incredible how things change... used to feel like sardines crammed into a can full of uncomfortable chairs, now they have amazing recliners with ample room. Concessions are on the expensive side...
Jeff R — Google review
The theater is nice a little dirty a few people standing around nobody cleaning, popcorn on the floor. And they charge 375 for the five dollar tickets online. You better off just to go because there is always plenty of seats. The staff is friendly the popcorn is not fresh. The movie was good and sound system
Ronald C — Google review
Saw Superman here recently. Cheap tickets, comfortable seats, good picture quality. The sound was especially good quality. A lot of theaters I've been to don't have their sound systems calibrated properly but this theater absolutely does. My only complaint is that the concessions are abhorrently overpriced, but that's to be expected with movie theaters.
Will T — Google review
Love the reclining chairs! Ticket prices were fair, but you will pay a fee for booking online. I bought the kids box of coke and popcorn. The price has gone up since my last visit.

The University of Tennessee Arboretum in Oak Ridge is a 250-acre botanical garden managed by UT students. It serves as a teaching and research facility for the Department of Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries. The arboretum boasts over 2,500 labeled woody plants and offers walking trails year-round. Visitors can enjoy workshops, lectures, guided walks, and various outdoor activities such as birdwatching and exploring different types of flora.
Came here for a nice walk with the family. Loved and amount and diversity of the trails. There are flat trails to walk and ones with incline. Plenty of shade beneath the large trees and there are benches along the trails to take a rest. I liked the little educational visitor center near the parking area. There was some very interesting information about types of plants you can find and the history of the arboretum itself. What I also love is that its not right in the middle of a city. It's pretty much between Knoxville and Oak Ridge so it feels way more natural than walking through a botanical garden in the middle of a city.
Cody H — Google review
Gorgeous and large arboretum, I can spend hours there reading the information along the trails and admiring the scenery. You can tell a lot of the information is older and some of the signs have faded a lot from the sun, but all the trail maps are well maintained and basically at every intersection (which i appreciate as someone with poor memory). There's a nice stream and marsh area, lots of tree labels, and good info from UTK research. The trails are also well maintained with a mix of natural hiking and paved/gravel trails. I rarely find litter. They also have good events online and in person I would recommend.
Imre — Google review
It's close to work so I go here on lunch breaks. There are so many trails to choose from and none of them are difficult or long (unless you string together multiple trails, which is fun). No tickets required. Parking is convenient and plentiful. There is also a water fountain near the auditorium, in case your hikes make you thirsty.

Absolutely beautiful here. Unfortunately we didn't see everything they had here but what we did see we enjoyed. We will definitely be back - visited from Michigan

Alongside their flavorful soups, you can indulge in homemade bread, fresh salads, and scrumptious sandwiches. Don't forget to save room for dessert—options like chocolate chip cookies and coconut cream pie are sure to delight!
Everything is so delicious, fresh and homemade. Best vegetable soup I've ever had! The ladies who work there are so sweet. We had a large group and they were very helpful and accommodating. Everyone in our group had delicious soup and sandwiches. I can't wait to go back again!

The lady was very helpful when navigating took us to the wrong spot (imagine that 🤣) our first time here! The chicken and dumplings is the best southern style chicken and dumplings I have ever had!! The chili is good! The white bread that is made fresh is amazing! The Mexican style cornbread is good, a tad dry for me but not everyone likes the way I like mine either so it’s just my opinion! Overall the service was great and the food we had was great as well! Thank you to the staff, well done!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I popped into The Soup Kitchen on a whim this evening - I was in the mood for soup since it's fall and it felt right for a Friday night - and I am SO happy I did. The crab chowder was INCREDIBLE and the roll (I got white bread) was absolutely delicious. Like so good I could probably eat 6 in a sitting. And to top it off, some of the BEST Coconut Cream Pie I have ever had. I will absolutely be coming back to try more!

This restaurant has been a staple to the Oak Ridge community for several decades, and is worth checking out. The Food: Every day, they serve different styles of soup, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. During this visit, I tried the chicken & dumplings soup, with a side of brown bread, and lemon pie. The soup was incredible. Perfectly tender chicken, and good portions of it. Cracker Barrel ain't got nothing on this place. The brown bread also is worth getting. I've tried the white bread before, and it was okay but bland. The brown bread has so much flavor to it. Next time, I'll skip dessert though. I don't recommend it, unless you're into cafeteria style desserts. The Dining Area: A little awkward to navigate, but they have a decent amount of seating, and tons of historical decor on the walls about the Manhattan Project days. The place could use a facelift, but it's got plenty of charm, and feels cozy. The Staff: Very friendly, polite, and helpful. Restrooms: One for men and one for women. Seemed decently clean and well kept.

My husband got take out so I can't speak to the service/atmosphere, although he did say it looked cool inside and had no complaints. The food, however, was so good and at a reasonable price. This is a great spot for lunch and a nice alternative to fast food. I loved the blt chicken salad and clam chowder!

I order soup kitchen from Door Dash 2-3 times per week. It's around $20 bucks for 2 soups, a bread and the delivery tip. You simply can't beat that price! I've never had a soup from here that wasn't a 10/10. Do yourself a favor on a Wednesday and get a Snow Crap Soup and dip their cheese bread in it!

Everything I’ve had is great, but you have to come on Wednesdays and try the soft shell crab soup. It’s like I just ordered a fresh crab dish off the boardwalk, it tastes so good.

Amazing. After 8 years of working in Oak Ridge I finally decided to try The Soup Kitchen and all I can say is wow. I got in just before the lunch rush and got the tomato soup and 3 cheese grilled sandwich. Firstly, that tomato soup is more of a stew it is so thick and simply amazing but that grilled cheese was next level, even plain. I will certainly not wait 8 years to return.

Kume Japanese Cuisine: Sushi & Hibachi is a vital part of the Oak Ridge community and has gained recognition for its exceptional sushi, top-notch service, and friendly staff. This sushi eatery is renowned for its contemporary take on traditional dishes and strict dedication to using only high-quality ingredients. Recently, a couple on a keto diet visited the restaurant and requested their chicken hibachi dish with substituted vegetables instead of rice. The accommodating staff happily obliged, resulting in a delightful meal for the couple.
We tried the pork dumplings-pan fried, they were delish. The Bento box was good, everything was fresh and hot. They will bring more sauce if you need it.

The outside isn't much to look at, and the decor is minimalist, but that doesn't hurt the food. Spring Rolls: Small crispy and tasty. They are the typical rolls, but well done. Sushi: Dragon Roll. The outside tempura was too thick. The inside was good and tasted fresh, it just needs less breading. Hibachi Steak & Chicken: Steak was cooked as asked ( medium), Chicken was tender and seasoned. Pros: Good food, prices, service Cons: Limited seating, limited parking
Blue B — Google review
I was in Oak Ridge today on business and thought I would try one of the Asian restaurants I had not yet tried. I was pleasantly surprised by Kume. I ordered the hibachi chicken bento box. The chicken was very nicely done… Very tender with good flavor. The roll was good and that's going some for me because I don't usually eat them. The spring rolls had good flavor and good texture. The service was pleasant and quick. I will definitely go back to try something else. The next time I am over that way. By far the best Asian cuisine I have had so far in Oak Ridge and I think this makes the fourth restaurant I have tried. It earns my, "OK… That was decent… I will try that again" seal of approval.

Visiting this place is always highlight of my trips to Oak Ridge. The Tennessee roll is my absolute favorite. The sushi is always delicious and fresh. The service is always impeccable and efficient. Everything is always clean, the music is never annoying. Every guest I've brought has had a wonderful meal. I definitely recommend if you love sushi. Thank you!

Clean facilities. Great service. Although it's a little dark inside. They really need to illuminate better. Food was hit and miss. The tofu was amazing. The eel was superb. The shrimp was overcooked. Overall, it's a good dining experience.

The food wasn’t over cooked n not good at all. Didn’t give me any silver wear or ask if I needed anything. Also the portions were way off. Half rice half vegetable and barely any steak. Only pro was that the shrimp wasn’t over cooked

No seasoning. No hibachi experience. The steak is always well done no matter how you order it. Dry food drowned in sauce. Customer service is bare minimum as they will not come back after initial time at the table so get it all while you got em.

Mexican restaurant
El Cantarito Mexican Restaurant, a locally owned and operated establishment that has been serving the community since 1999, offers guests the chance to savor authentic and traditional Mexican cuisine. The menu features freshly prepared dishes made to order on a daily basis. Despite its small size as a hole in the wall, it remains consistently busy due to its popularity. However, the family who manages the restaurant ensures quick and polite service to their customers.
The sign outside says it’s the best Mexican food in town; I can’t completely verify that independently as it’s the only place I’ve tried, but after one meal; I don’t need to try the others. The service was fast, the portions were generous, the food was top quality, and the price was fantastic!

It's kind of hidden. Use your GPS. The food was really good. It was crowded. We went around 5:30 p.m. They have a large menu. So you are bound to find something you like. The prices are great. Not super expensive or over priced. The beer in the mug was 32 Oz. It was only 3.99. They also have daily specials and happy hour. If you love Mexican food, you won't be disappointed.

This Mexican restaurant is amazing! The food tastes great and the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the Combo Fajita (steak, chicken, and shrimp) for only $13.50 before tax, and the portion was huge. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the sizzling skillet made it even more appetizing. It also came with rice, beans, guacamole, and tortillas, so it was a complete and filling meal. Definitely worth it, and I’ll be coming back again!

This is a hidden gem for Mexican food. The portions are generous and everything is very fresh. Their salsa is delicious, the food comes out quickly, and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

If I could give this place a 10 out of 5 I would. We have been here a number of times and it’s always amazing. Service is prompt and fast. They bring free corn chips and salsa whilst you read the menu. Servings are massive, we can never finish our meal! They happily provide to go boxes. The food is great quality and delicious! It’s also extremely reasonably priced! They also have lunch specials which are a little cheaper and still way too much food! My favourite is the chicken fajitas! Also their guacamole is excellent order it as soon as you sit down to have with the corn chips and salsa! I have nothing but great things to say about this place! If you are in the area and love Mexican food you must try it!

We found hair in our salsa and understanding that stuff happens we just ordered a new thing of salsa and informed our waiter. Surprisingly no apology or anything. The waiter actually seemed mad when he brought us our new salsa because he slammed our salsa down on the table and just walked off without saying a word. The food took forever to come out and was not good at all. It was all very greasy and soggy. The taco shell completely fell apart when I tried to pick it up. The chicken was so dry it was not edible. I could've looked past the hair but then the attitude of our waiter and the absolutely horrible food just killed the whole dinning experience. I would even be willing to give them a pass if they were busy but it was dead on a Monday afternoon. I don't think I will be returning and I would advise looking at other Mexican restaurants first before choosing this one. I feel like I completely wasted my money by coming here. The only saving grace for this restaurant is the prices. They are very cheap but the food reflects those prices and this is one of those situations where you get what you pay for.

Alright Mexican restaurant, not all that. We waited 30+ minutes to be seated. Cheese dip and salsa were good. Food was okay. Our kids did not like the cheeseburger it was burnt, dry, and hard to chew. The margaritas are not strong at all. Service was sub par.

Pizza restaurant
Pizza Inn is a delightful pizzeria and buffet chain that offers an array of crust options, alongside delicious pastas and more. Diners can enjoy a fresh selection of pizzas made to order, ensuring there's something for everyone. While some guests may have had less-than-ideal experiences due to isolated complaints, the overall atmosphere remains inviting and friendly. Many patrons appreciate the variety available at Pizza Inn, especially when it comes to their pizza choices.
Ok here is another 5 star review to counter balance the lady who's family had plates stacked 4-5 pieces of pizza high. Yes we walked in behind your family and you guys were so polite to clear all the pizza because we don't go out to eat because we also are hungry. As for her complaining about the chili there was more than enough chili so she could have had some Lastly ma'am you went out of your way to be extremely difficult and rude to the staff and I applaud them for not making you chili.

Not that great for adults but if you want to eat with your small kids for free then I guess it’s ideal. I only wanted soup and salad. No soup on the bar because it was scorched to the pot and they would not change it out at 5:30 pm on a Sunday. I can’t believe we even left a tip but that’s my husband, being the nice guy he is. The salad was not the best. Everything on the salad bar was not that fresh, so I only ate half my salad. Will not go back.

I usually do not give reviews. But this place was awful. First we thought we would take in the vols ballgame while having pizza. Got there and paid and realized the tv’s were shut off . No game . So decided just have pizza with family. Went to buffet very little pizza what was there was dry and cold. So went salad bar no cheese no eggs no cucumbers no ranch dressing no soup?Made a pizza request no spinach . Not to forget to mention plates stacked up and had to put on table beside usI have been here many times and gave this place many chances to get it right. Will not be back to Oak ridge pizza inn!

0 stars this place is just awful. Service is terrible. They were rude. Refused to put any other pizza until those were eaten. They wouldn't put out any fresh desert pizza either. There was another family there having the same problem. They ended up asking for a refund and left. We paid $46 to be ignored when asking for a fresh pizza,of any kind. One of the employees came over to talk to us and we told him that the employees were rude, the pizza was all old and cold and the salad bar was warm and wilting.

Go to the other location in Knoxville. I hate giving such a bad review but wow! I was appalled at the stale dessert pizza which was dry and brittle. The other pizzas were dry as well. It was as if someone had a picture of the pizzas but no taste to create the true version. This place is a pale comparison. A shadow of the Clinton Hwy locale. An opaque reflection of what should be. No servers. Out of touch cooking staff unaware of the flavor they are destroying; the quality they are compromising. Corporate failure feeding off of familiarity failing to attain to the original. DO NOT GO HERE. GO TO CLINTON HIGHWAY IN KNOXVILLE. It is vibrant. Fresh! Hot! Delicious! Staffed well! Smiles everywhere! Family oriented. Faith filled.

Reviewing mainly because the one star T. Lawson review left. All that lady did the whole time she was there was complain. She complained about the chili which was burnt a little around the edges but was completely servable and edible as you can from her picture. She was rude to the staff and yelled about it being scorched multiple times and complained about no cucumbers on the bar and multiple other things. My family had multiple plates of salad and it was fresh and fine with the exception of a little wilted lettuce that was very easy to pick around. It was not 5:30 when she expected them to serve a whole pot of new soup it was almost 7pm and they close at 8. We walked in at 6:40 and her table was in the process of pretty much clearing the bar of the pizza. It took the staff about 10-20 minutes and the bar was fully restocked with about 10 pizzas plus dessert pizzas. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was great. Some people just enjoy complaining. It was good!

I understand that it wasn't busy when my family came in. however, when I requested fresh pizza, it was obviously all very old and dry, I was met with attitude. We even saw a family complain and demand a refund. I recommend going to Clinton Highway location. For $46 I am extremely disappointed in my experience.

Went her the other night and it was great! Pizza was fresh and coming out at we asked in with lots of choices. The only negative which isn’t in the restaurant was some lady complaining at the top of her lungs and being entitled. It was nearly closing, they cranked out pizza for everyone when they didn’t have to put out that many at all. I’m guessing the lady is the recent one star review. I’m Flabbergasted that she said I can’t believe we left a tip. They clear your plates for you and check on you and “serve” you so why would you not leave a tip? Her saying her husband did cause he’s nice also probably explains why he’s with her. Gotta balance out the nasty with the nice.
