Ice cream shop
Arethusa Farm Dairy is a charming ice cream shop located next to Arethusa al Tavolo. The shop offers a variety of dairy products including cheese, yogurt, milk, butter, and seasonal eggnog in addition to their delightful ice cream served in fresh waffle cones. Visitors praise the delicious flavors and recommend trying the local products available for purchase.
I love their coffee ice cream and their raspberry flavor. All the other flavors are great too, but these are my two favorites. Their milk is great and cheeses, as well as butter. It’s a really cozy spot after visiting either their next-door restaurant or any other great locally owned restaurants.

If you want great ice cream this is the place! What would you expect except excellence from an ice cream store that has it's own dairy farm! If you like ice cream... come here, you won't be disappointed!
Law T — Google review
Impossible to describe how incredible this tasted. My goodness I ate so much my tummy hurt. I couldn’t stop. What a surprise for my taste buds. The chocolate (and chocolate chunk?) was out of this world. Went back for the coffee ice cream the next day. Buts it’s not just the ice cream. The cheeses. The Swiss like cheese ( crybaby ) ? Unbelievable. We had to others on a board from their restaurant next store and came back to bring some home. Finally the butter. They got everything right. Both days the counter help was great thank you for helping us remember what we had and liked.
Michael H — Google review
Our 1st time here and let me tell you, we loved it. Not only was it easy to park, but the staff couldn't be friendlier or more polite. We ordered the strawberry ice cream and the cherry and chocolate. Loved both flavors and I think it was the best tasting ice cream I've had. Can't wait to try other flavors.
Margaret H — Google review
Great ice cream✨️ It's always a treat to get in the summer and unlike other places the ice cream melts in your mouth delightfully. You can always tell the flavors are handmade and not artificial tasting which is a pleasant surprise when I haven't had it in a while. Definitely a stop in my book
Veronica R — Google review
Great ice cream!! V creamy! Cute dairy, would definitely trek out for it again
Hannah D — Google review
How can you go wrong with quality ingredients, attentive service, and simple flavors that just hit your palate in the right way. No toppings, no sprinkles, no nothing, need it on any of the ice creams that are served here. The flavors are always rich, delicious and on point. Some of our favorites include the peach ice cream, vanilla ice cream and raspberry ice cream. Rotating flavors on the menu board indicate what is being served when. This truly is the way ice cream is meant to taste wholesome goodness in your waffle cone cup.
George D — Google review
Arethusa Farm Dairy probably has the best-tasting ice cream in the state. It’s that good. Pro tip: get a single scoop—it’s really two scoops, and more than enough. Plus, you can mix flavors. Weekends get busy in the summer, but they’re open year-round, so don’t be afraid to stop by in the off-season. Worth the trip.

Arethusa al tavolo

New American restaurant
Arethusa al tavolo is a fine-dining restaurant located in Bantam, offering upscale New American dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients from its own dairy farm. The restaurant provides an elegant dining experience and serves super fresh butters, cheeses, yogurts, and a seasonal menu curated by executive chef Dan Magill.
Wow!.... I am very impressed with this restaurant, and very surprised to have found a restaurant of this quality out here in the middle of nowhere. The quality of the food in this place is really up there with some of the best restaurants in the world. I have to say that the way the food is described in the menu doesn't do justice to what you actually get on the plate... and the little complemetary things they bring out throughout the meal make for an outstanding meal. My compliments to the chef 👏.... Also, the service and ambiance were delightful. Truthfully, this dinner experience made top 10 of the best dinner experiences I've had in my years of traveling the world as a foodie. Kudos to everyone making of this place such a gem!
Vicky A — Google review
This restaurant is exceptional. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they make excellent food and drink suggestions, are patient when you can’t decide what to eat (because everything on the menu looks incredible!), and concern themselves with providing an amazing dining experience. It’s crazy that a sleepy town houses one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. We chose this location to celebrate our anniversary and they made it very special. The vibe is cozy and classy, and the food is cooked to perfection. It’s easy to tell that the chefs love food and care about crafting delicious, palate exploding dishes. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their food!

Arethusa is dialed in !!! Celebrating a second night in anniversary weekend we arrived pretty early on a busy night. They were most kind and got us a seat at the bar so we could have a cocktail and peruse the menu. It wasn’t long and we were seated and enjoying a lot of shared plates. The service was excellent. Everything expedited and followed up on. The cheese board was divine. A nice touch on desert. What a time. Glad we dressed up as there was a nice level of presentation going on.
Michael H — Google review
Possibly the best fine dining experience in Litchfield county! The food is always delectable and the service is impeccable. The complimentary treats from the chef before and after the meal are always appreciated. Recently tried a wild boar 🐗 entree with a citrus slaw, which may have been the best menu item I’ve ever tried at the restaurant. Also had the duck entree 🦆 which was stellar and highly recommend. This place is a must if you enjoy food!
Brad O — Google review
We came here for my special man's birthday. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal, I on the other hand, did not. I feel my taste buds may be off. Staff so sweet & courteous. Recommend getting reservations as it gets busy & is not that large of a space. Try to go early so you can go next door & get ice cream before it closes!
Yachai R — Google review
My husband and I had been curious to visit Arethusa’s restaurant for the longest time, but have been saving it for a special occasion. We figured why not go for our first wedding anniversary! It exceeded our expectations and was exactly what we were looking for. We started with a tasty pretzel bun and Arethusa’s whipped butter, and we appreciated when they came around to ask if we’d like a second. The amuse bouche of chilled melon soup with mint was also a nice touch. We always love Arethusa’s cheese, so the artisan cheese board was a treat, and the braised duck dumplings were delicious and quite rich. Our entrees, desserts, and cocktails were all excellent, and they were kind enough to recognize our anniversary. Before we left, they came by with complimentary little guava bites that left us refreshed. Arethusa was everything we want from a fine dining experience. Quality food, professional and attentive service, but not a pretentious vibe. We were in and out in under 2 hours while never feeling rushed. I hope to come back to treat my mom for her birthday!

We celebrated my Husband Ron’s Birthday recently, and the dining experience was altogether Amazing! The cheeseboard appetizer was phenomenal and showcased their award winning cheddar! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for a memorable evening!

This was an excellent meal, and upscale enough for our celebration. I suggest going early enough to be able to go for ice cream at their dairy right next door to the restaurant

Nature & Wildlife Areas
White Memorial Conservation Center is the largest wildlife refuge in Connecticut, offering diverse habitats for bird and wildlife viewing. With over 40 miles of walking, hiking, and biking trails, outdoor enthusiasts can explore the natural beauty of the 4,000-acre sanctuary. The center also features a museum showcasing the area's natural diversity and attractions like birds of prey exhibits.
This was my first time here and I was a bit short on time so I had stopped in the museum and went on the "marsh trail". The museum is very nicely set up especially for children, to feel like you are on an adventure as you move through. Very thoughtful exhibits. The boardwalk along the "marsh trail" is amazing, there was a great deal of work that was put into it. I'm looking forward to going back and spending more time there.

Beautiful setting / view's in the forest. Gravel parking lot, with a few port-o-potty's here -n- there. There's a museum & the property is dog friendly with many picnic tables near the parking lot, along the fields & around the pond. Loads of wildlife life with over 40 miles (4000 acres) of clear-cut well maintained sprawling trails with wooden boardwalks through the forest.

This is a great low-key lake trail and conservation scene. I didn't get to sample the full lake trail loop but this was a good pop in on the return trip from New York before Hartford, breaking up the long miles with movement and environmental sensory grounding.
Dan P — Google review
Excellent hiking trails. Large park with multiple trail entrances. Most of not all have parking and all the trails are well maintained. Great place to bring kids and dogs. Biking trails available. Wonderful views all around.

Met up with friends and had a great time! We were nervous with young kids (19 months - 7 yrs old) and what to expect, but it was perfect for them without being too overwhelming for the parents to handle. Delightful surprises throughout including the beehive and gem cave. A nice little trip for all ages and of course very reasonable priced entry while also knowing you are supporting a wonderful local cause! The museum also includes a small play area for kids with books, puzzles, and more and the grounds outside include picnic tables, a pond, and connects to the WM trails. Plenty of space for kids to run around outside while parents can easily keep an eye on them. Will absolutely be bringing the kiddos back!
Sondra M — Google review
A day well spent! The Little Pond Trail is so unique. I personally wouldn’t recommend small children unless you carry them. We then visited the museum and enjoyed it. Lots to see & interact with, many facts to learn, & the displays are amazing! There’s a cute gift shop too! Note: For bathrooms, there is an outhouse. No public restrooms in the museum.
Manda B — Google review
Nice trails...fine location...able to rent the carriage house for our event.

Took our 2 small kids to the museum and was pleasantly surprised with all the exhibits and information. Great gift shop as well. We only did the lake trail but it was great! Very easy and quick, but an interesting walk with the overlook and ice house ruins.

White Memorial- Little Pond Boardwalk Trail

4.8

Hiking area
The Little Pond Boardwalk Trail is a 1.2-mile loop that takes you through a serene wetland environment, offering picturesque views of the dense forest and wildlife tracks. The trail features wooden boardwalks built around 'Little Pond' and crosses the Bantam River in several spots. While it's well-traveled, some parts of the boardwalk may have ankle-deep water due to heavy rain, so waterproof shoes are recommended.
Beautiful easy 1.7 mile loop of a trail mostly on a boardwalk through the marsh and woods with Beautiful views and opportunities to see different birds. The parts leading to the boardwalk were a bit muddy on the day I went, March 14th, 2025, so wear suitable shoes. No bugs the day I went. It was simply gorgeous and well maintained.

The Little Pond Boardwalk Trail, located within the White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield, Connecticut, is a serene 1.2-mile loop featuring an elevated wooden walkway that guides visitors through wetlands and dense forests surrounding Little Pond. This trail offers an immersive experience in a rich wetland environment, providing opportunities to observe various waterfowl species and other wildlife. Visitors often praise the trail’s tranquil atmosphere and scenic beauty. One hiker described it as “absolutely stunning,” highlighting the well-maintained paths and peaceful surroundings. Another noted the boardwalk’s unique charm, calling it “beautiful and quirky and uneven, but worth it.” The trail is accessible year-round and is particularly captivating during the spring and fall migrations, as well as in early summer when wildflowers are in bloom. However, some visitors have mentioned that certain sections of the boardwalk can be uneven and slanted, so it’s advisable to watch your step, especially in areas without railings. For those planning a visit, it’s recommended to arrive early or choose weekdays to avoid crowds, as the trail has gained popularity. Additionally, checking for trail updates on the White Memorial Conservation Center’s website or Facebook page is advisable to stay informed about any maintenance or closures. 🌲The Little Pond Boardwalk Trail offers a peaceful and picturesque hiking experience, making it a worthwhile destination for nature enthusiasts and casual hikers alike.
Alexa L — Google review
Such a special place. 1.6mi loop mostly on boardwalk through the marsh. Can get hot as its direct sun for much of the path so prepare with hats/sunscreen/etc. Lots of fun for littles to look for critters in the water around the boardwalk. Tons of birdsong. Boardwalk is rather narrow at times and there are some steps at the cross bridges and dismounting areas, so not stroller friendly at all
Elizabeth O — Google review
This an awesome walk . Came across a beaver dam. Awesome people on this trail. Beautiful area for bird watching, looking at flowers. Gentle lace to relax.there are bridges . Some spots touches the water.
Ray R — Google review
VICIOUSLY beautiful. Although it may be the same location, the seasonal changes make it so starkly different. AMAZING for those who hate hiking/noobies … but truthfully? I recommend for anyone and everyone who’s able to!! Pets included. 🐕 Great spot to watch nature animals (birds especially), and it’s a great spot to eat lunch! Multiple paths, looping around twice is so fun. TOTALLYYY recommend going all 4 seasons out of the year, it’s hard to pick a favorite. 🤩
Gabrielle M — Google review
We like walking this trail due to the beauty of the area and how easy it is to walk on the boardwalk. No shade out in the open and no bathrooms. Oh, and if you’re a dog owner, clean up after your dog. There’s toddlers who also use the trail. 4 Stars for no bathrooms and dog poop!
Timothy M — Google review
I've been coming here for years. Best little scenic walk in Connecticut. My opinion, of course, lol. Extremely serine with tons of wildlife to keep you occupied. Many trails around, and off this trail, you couldn't do it all in a day. The best time to go is after a 3 day rain storm when 90% of the boardwalk is under water, and you can walk barefoot around the boardwalk. It is not recommended if you have a walking condition or need to use a cane or crutches. The picture of the bobcat included was from 8 years ago and fir some reason Google won't let me upload the really nice photos due to size limit. Highly recommend visit!
Greg K — Google review
Well maintained trails, but it is very difficult from the map to figure out where you are or plan a route. We did not see markers on the trails either. In the end. We turned around after about 10 minutes because we didn't know if we would find our way back if we went down different paths.

Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolates is a charming and special place with phenomenal milk and interestingly flavored, well-crafted chocolates. The farm exudes a lovely family vibe, reflecting the owners' care for their cows. Visitors can enjoy the delightful experience of seeing newborn calves and interacting with the friendly staff. The apple spice truffle is particularly recommended, and the overall feeling of the place adds to its appeal.
Thorncrest farms brings a sustainable and family approach to making high quality chocolate, and caring for the cows and resources that they use to create these unique confections. The family at Thorncrest has spared no detail in how they manage and care for their cows on a daily basis to ensure they produce the best milk possible to support the ultimate product they produce. My family participated in the farm tour and chocolate tasting and were blown away by the care and love this family has for what they do. I would highly recommend the visit and I would highly recommend supporting this farm not just for the care they demonstrate, but for the quality of their product.

This dairy farm is known to produce high quality chocolates which they create in house using the milk from their cows. They emphasize on treating their cows with respect and dignity. They're allowed to free roam and are hormone free. There is a small parking lot and the chocolate shop is very intimate and cozy. The employees were friendly too. You're able to peak into the dairy barn and see the cows too. There are a variety of chocolatea to choose from; from truffles, chocolate bars, caramel, and more. They have won multiple awards for their chocolate. They also offer private tours and chocolate tastings. I purchased a box of 9 assorted chocolates and two white chocolate lollipops. The chocolates were expensive but worth it. They tasted fresh and creamy, up there with the best chocolates I've had. I highly recommend a visit!
Kim V — Google review
Very small, local dairy farm and chocolate maker. You can get a variety of treats made on location with milk from their cows. Milk is also available for purchase. They will ship products all over the world. You can also visit the cows in the barn. Tours are offered in the summer, which we plan to do next year. Chocolate was excellent!
Chase S — Google review
Far but worth the trip! Loved seeing the cows and their new baby Dan, so adorable. We bought a lot of the dark chocolate, their fresh whole milk and vanilla. The attentive lady at the register made some suggestions and let us taste the caramel candy that was so delicious, fresh and soft. We got to see the ladies(cows) that were in the stable relaxing from their hard work. I really enjoyed visiting.

My date took me to a unique spot in Litchfield County, and it ended up being such a sweet surprise. The chocolate-and-milk farm was the perfect place to visit on a warm November Saturday. The milk farmer was incredibly kind, and his wife is a true chocolate specialist who uses only the milk from their own dairy. I definitely plan to go back and pick up some of their chocolate for Christmas gifts.
Cydonie B — Google review
Expensive, but well worth the price! Thorncrest is a great place to stop by for some fresh milk and delicious chocolate candy after a local hike. Next time we’ll visit between Thursday and Sunday to get up close with the cows. Do yourself a favor and indulge your taste buds. You’ll thank me later. Five tasty stars!
Timothy M — Google review
So many amazing things about this place. The chocolates were absolutely incredible! The venue itself was beautiful and it was so great to see the happy cows! I photographed a bridal shower at Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolates and would absolutely recommend people go there! Can’t wait to go back and get more chocolates! This place belongs in Hallmark movie! You can see the animals inside and there are signs to let you know who supplied the milk that day. The store itself is pretty tiny, with a nice selection of chocolates, milk, and other treats. Its family owned and the owner helped us with our chocolate selection. She was very friendly and we could see why this place was such a hit. You must stop here and try the chocolates, they are delicious!

Nestled in Bantam, Arethusa a mano is a delightful gem that forms part of the renowned Arethusa Farm Dairy family. This charming café, housed in a former firehouse, offers an inviting atmosphere where visitors can savor exceptional Stumptown Coffee Roasters brews alongside an array of homemade delights. From scrumptious bagels and pastries to hearty breakfast sandwiches and lunch options, every bite reflects their farm-to-table philosophy.
Best donuts 🍩 I've EVER had!!! The donuts were still warm from the oven at noon! Went here for brunch. Great staff, great location and great atmosphere. Parking is limited so come early! I recommend the cruller donut. I also recommend the reshi tumeric ginger chai latte.
Leah M — Google review
Food is good. We ordered their breakfast sandwiches and a bunch of pastries. I had better sandwiches in CT but Arethusa cheese is really outstanding (as expected). Vibe of the place could be much better though
Grace E — Google review
There needs to be a rating for "Value" because even though the food and coffee were delicious, it was very expensive. The wife and I each had a 2 egg, with cheese and bacon on a brioche bun which ran into $15 range. With one large coffee and a cold latte, plus 20% tip we spent over $40. The workers deserved the tip, because they are friendly, courteous and work quickly to get your order prepared. Everything is made to order. They have award winning phenomenal cheeses on their sandwiches. The place was clean and well kept. The restrooms were clean. Parking was tight, but I was able to grab the Compact Car Only spot up front. Our friends had to park across the street up the side street. It is very difficult not to give the entire experience 5 stars because that which I can rate above was all 5 stars. This a great place to either say you "experienced" or go every few weeks if you are budget conscience. I will be returning. I would like to try their bagels or other breads with a sandwich and pastries. I give the Value 4-4.5 Stars.

The roast beef sandwich, oh my gosh! Best I’ve ever had. From the farm-fresh divine Camembert cheese, caramelized onions, delicious roast beef, horseradish sour cream, an onion roll - it was unreal. Every bite. Would drive an hour up here just for this. 5 stars!!!!

First visit. Lovely atmosphere. I had a really good lemon donut and a cappuccino.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced big sandwich this isn't the place. However, I have to say that although they got half our order wrong and the sandwich was on the small side it tasted fairly amazing. The ingredients tasted fresh and healthy. The staff was friendly and efficient.

My wife and I stopped here on our way home. It’s located on route 202 in Bantam. Parking lot on the side. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and positive attitude of the employees. Lots of delicious selections of sandwiches, bakery items, and drinks. You can taste the difference in the items that come from there farm. We got an almond croissant which was a nice starter while waiting for our sandwiches. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a brioche roll. Very delicious. The eggs were from their farm and the cheese was made across the street at their dairy. It was very filling. I had a bite of my wife’s which was ham instead of bacon. It was just as tasty as mine. Just be prepared to spend a little more than at a regular deli. I know you get what you pay for with the high quality of ingredients. However, in the end it’s still an egg sandwich.

Perhaps my expectations were too high. We drove over an hour to get to the restaurant. The place is lovely and the food was great but there are comparable eateries that are closer to us. They use Stumptown coffee which I love and my iced latte was great.

The first picture was the inspiration photo. The second and third are what I received. Through email I was told that they could replicate something like the inspo photo, but the final product did not meet that expectation. While a discount was offered and appreciated, the cake was also a different flavor and size than requested. The cake had a good flavor, but was dry and did not have enough filling. It was a little disappointing to receive a cake of this quality when I was ensured my request was easily doable, especially considering that this cake was ordered weeks in advance.

Cute bakery/coffee spot with a wide range of sweet and savory breakfast treats. My breakfast sandwich wasn't cheap but it was huge and very good, served on their own bread. Reasonably fast and friendly service.

Love Heart’s is our go to for breakfast sandwiches; their English muffin bread, both regular and gluten free, is amazing. Their lunch salads are great too, and they even make custom gluten free and/or vegan cakes for special occasions. And the ladies who work there are super friendly.

Food is very good. With lots of vegan vegetarian or omnivore options. Some unique and interesting options too. Small but quaint space. Fun signs on the walls! Service was a bit odd. We had a group and after we had been there a while one person bought a soda. When we went to leave one of the workers asked him to pay for it even though he already had. She just said “I didn’t ring him out.” He pulled up his receipt on his phone and showed her but she still didn’t believe him and wanted him to pay again. Then the other worker came over and verified that he had already paid. She never apologized for accusing him of stealing.

The sandwich I got was fine but the place was not very clean. The table fan that's facing the kitchen is filthy with dust and dirt all over the fan blades. I'm surprised no one has cleaned it seeing is it's right in front of the customers. Service wasn't very friendly.

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in a cozy corner, Patty's Restaurant is the quintessential neighborhood diner that serves up beloved breakfast and lunch classics. With a cash-only policy (an ATM is conveniently available), this charming spot offers everything from fluffy omelets to mouthwatering eggs Benedict and hearty BLTs. Whether you choose to dine in or grab takeout, you'll be greeted with quick service and a warm atmosphere that feels like home. Since its establishment, Patty's has become a favorite for locals and visitors alike.
Such a sweet surprise to find this gem. Delicious breakfast. I ordered an omelet from the specials and added a side of bacon. Their gritts were smooth . I think there was a touch of sour cream in them, an unusual surprise that kept them creamy . We will be back.

Patty's Restaurant in Litchfield is a true breakfast gem! The omelets are fantastic, generously portioned, and cooked to perfection. But the real star of the show? The hash browns! They're custom-made, crispy, and utterly delicious—you can tell they're not just your standard fare. Plus, everything is reasonably priced, making it a fantastic value. Highly recommend for a satisfying and delightful breakfast experience.

Wonderful little spot! Patty's is such a cozy little restaurant with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The coffee's hot and the Halloween decor is so fun! The brie, cheddar, bacon, and apple sandwich is one of the best things I've eaten in a while. The cornbread was also deliciously moist and flavorful. The prices are really good. I thought affordable, under $10 lunch was becoming a thing of the past, but you can still find it here! It's a cash-only place, but I think there is an ATM either in the restaurant or nearby. Lots of parking available.

I recently visited Patty’s Restaurant and had an incredible experience. I ordered the corned beef Reuben, and it was phenomenal! The bread was perfectly crispy, and the corned beef was seasoned to perfection. The overall taste and quality of the food were outstanding. The waitress was attentive and very friendly, which made the dining experience even better. I will definitely be coming back to enjoy more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for breakfast on a whim and this place blew us away! You know when you go to a little diner and the food is disappointing? This place is not like that at all! We had biscuits and gravy and the Spanish omelette and both were fantastic! The tater tots were also exceptional. Wonderful service, great atmosphere, good coffee. If you’re looking for that hometown diner feel where the food is affordable and also excellent this is your place!! We will be back.

We stopped by on out way home for a "quick" lunch. I am not sure if we came on an off day since I read the reviews before we came. All of the problems we had were blamed on our waitress who was honestly the best part of our visit, but because she was young she was the scapegoat. She however did not cook the horrible food we received. I ordered a brie, cheddar, and bacon melt on rye. After several minutes the front end manager came to verify my order. When it was delivered it was a hunk of brie, many slices of oily bacon, and soggy bread. I sent it back because nothing was "melted" and it was missing the avocado and tomato. It came back with a huge hunk of avocado and mangled tomatoes. Still soggy, still un-melted cheese. The whole time we were there we witnessed the staff being yelled at ( honestly, I would have walked out if it were me). Unfortunately, it was so bad it became entertaining. When I received the bill for $73.00 (which was wrong) I brought it up to the manager and told her the bill was wrong. She then got the owner and when I was trying to explain what was wrong and mentioned my sandwich, she started yelling at me and said fine take it off without even acknowledging or listening to anything I had to say. I said Happy Holidays and left after paying the correct amount of the bill. Beware! It was an interesting, but not appetizing experience.

Best breakfast place for regular people in Litchfield county. Hearty, down-to-earth fare that tastes home-cooked and won't cost you crazy money. Great service too. Coming here after we pick our daughter up at camp has become an annual tradition.

We went in here with a group for dinner on a Sunday night and really enjoyed it! The ahi tuna appetizer, French onion soup, crispy Brussels sprouts, crispy chicken sandwich, bread pudding & sage chicken were delicious! Would definitely come back for great atmosphere, service and food.

My husband and I drove down to CT from NH and found this gem on Groupon. They asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, but they sat/served us anyway. When we got the menu it did say that reservations were required but they made zero fuss about it. The food was fantastic and the service was superior. First, we shared the seared tuna app (still talking about it!), then I had the french onion soup and my husband had the crab and corn chowder, for the entrée I had the caprese pasta with grilled chicken and he had the shrimp scampi. No room for dessert but the menu looked delicious as well! Thank you Sage & Salt for a superb meal and experience.

Three of us ate here and it was pleasant and clean. I had a Cod sandwich that was delicious. My wife had a NY Strip that she said was excellent. Her sister had the roasted chicken that she said was good. We had Boston Cream Pie and Flourless Chocolate Cake for dessert. Not a busy night.

Husband and I enjoyed a date night out at Sage and Salt. Our waiter, Joel was fantastic…friendly and made menu suggestions. As someone who enjoys an alcohol-free life, I appreciated that he brought my NA Athletic Brewing Beer out in the can and provided a glass. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer which was good. For dinner, I enjoyed the Fish & Chips and my husband had the BBQ Burger. We both agreed the fries were average. Food Menu has great options, large drink menu, and they offer (I believe) 4 non-alcoholic beers as well as a Mocktail menu. Overall, we had a nice night out and left satisfied!

We got a groupon and decided to give them a try. First, they have a special menu for groupon users that is thei cheapest items. The service was marginal and the food was less than marginal. Fish and chips was so so. The fish was undercooked, there were parts of raw fish. Calamari is clearly from restaurant depot and not made at the restaurant. All in all very disappointing.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Salt & Sage for a quiet Sunday dinner. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming. Our waitress Sussie was fantastic and super friendly and attentive. We started with appetizers; the spinach and artichoke dip, bruschetta, and pretzel were all delicious and portions weren’t skimpy. Plenty of leftovers! For entrees with had a little of everything, steak that was tender and juicy, shrimp scampi that was rich and creamy, a cod sandwich that was delicious, and a kids portion of the fish and chips. Overall, it was a relaxing and delicious evening with excellent service and great food. Highly recommend Sage & Sage—we’ll definitely be back! Special shout out to Susie, she was super friendly and made sure everything was perfect!

My food was good, the appetizer was great, my moms medium burger was very rare. BUT the only reason I’m leaving a review is because we waited 2 hours before getting our food (that was cold) and when we finished and requested the check, the waitress didn’t return for 30 minutes… the people sitting beside us left after waiting for over an hour for their food. Don’t go if you have plans after 😬

April 2023 - This month's wine dinner had patrons sit outside in the covered outdoor dining room with warm temps in the air. The Italian wines featured were given a description by the host with each course. All were paired well with the food. Always like steel tank chardonnays. Loved the lamb chop with rosemary demi-glaze. # The January 2023 wine course dinner was so appealing we had to partake even though we were there in December. It was the first menu where every course, five out of five, looked delicious. Seafood bisque, Stuffed clams oreganato with bacon, Tortellini Bolognese with shaved parmesan and arugula, Surf & Turf Beef Medallion and Grilled Shrimp Bernaise with garlic mashed, and a chocolate chip bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Every dish was spectacular. Only one thing: The tortellini had no seasoning even if it merely wasn't cooked in salted water. The best course: the beef medallion that was a spectacular cut of meat in terms of flavor and tenderness served with one shrimp on top. Carving the beef a few times with the shrimp, I liked them both together. Our favorite wine: an Albariño from the highest altitudes in Spain, "Terras Gaudio" label. The espresso martini on the rocks with dessert was very flavorful and a fine accompaniment. A great value. # The December five course dinner was enjoyable. Food included wine pairings with crab stuffed mushrooms, blackened scallops, duck confit, lasagna and a mint chocolate chip cream puff. # 4.8 Another fine five course dinner here in October 2022 featuring Italian wine pairing . We liked our seating area much better than our first wine dinner here which was small and brightly lit. Patrons had the option of placing an order for any of the wines tried along with cheese and crackers before the meal. # It's surprising to me it's been so long since we've dined at Saltwater Grille in Litchfield because their food is incredible. Covid probably added to the gap in time, so we were happy to finally book a reservation for their monthly wine dinner this November. This month's five course menu sounded perfect: Butternut Squash Bisque with crab & leeks; Boston Bibb lettuce with chicken, walnuts and apple; Duck Confit Wellington with fig glaze; Bourbon BBQ braised short ribs on Yukon gold mashed with crispy Brussel sprouts and a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich for dessert. Everything delivered in terms of flavor and Chef skills. My favorite was the short ribs, but each dish was prepared well. The proper pacing of each course steadily fills patrons up. I was hoping the dessert would be a mini ice cream sandwich, but no, it was full size with thick fresh baked cookies. Of course an accompanying wine comes with each serving. Starting with a Prosecco toast and ending with a Port cocktail, two whites were paired with the first two courses, and two reds with the third and fourth. A red wine person, for once I preferred the whites - a Pinot Grigio and a Chardonnay - both for their smoothness. The Pinot Noir and Zinfandel were noteworthy. At the end of the meal a list of the wines showcased in the dinner is given to patrons with bottle prices at a nearby liquor store sponsoring the wines. The wine poured throughout the meal are tasting pours not whole glasses. Clientele joining us in the smaller well lit back room varied from seniors to two women with a well-behaved baby and toddler to a bigger table for the wine rep and his guests. New to the Grille's wine dinner, we learned we could ask for a top off of the wine being sampled by the circulating server. A nice experience. If you'd like to give it a try, go to their website and sign up for their email notifications. Each month is a new menu. We look forward to revisiting their regular menu on our next visit for a couple of entrées we have to enjoy again. The bar seemed to be the most lively place to roost. # Really delicious food. Duck bacon wrapped scallops, fish and chips and spinach & artichoke crusted salmon. The service was poor due to a novice learning, but they comped us a drink, as a result.

The restaurant is known for its upscale, seasonal fare, making it a favorite spot for both lunch and dinner. Additionally, they offer delicious salads, sandwiches, and homemade pies at their quaint cafe.
This was our first time visiting the West Street Grill. Perfect atmosphere for a date night! This restaurant nails the balance between fine dining and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We started with the classic peasant bread and the crostini with burrata - both amazing. For mains, the salmon bucatini was rich and flavorful, and the grilled branzino was cooked to perfection. We finished with the chocolate mousse, which was absolutely to die for. As great as the food was, the highlight was the staff. Everyone was warm and genuine, and James, the owner, made us feel right at home. A place we’ll definitely return to.

We had a wonderful dinner at West Street Grill this past weekend. The food was refined and delicious. Everything was so fresh, especially the tomatoes that were as sweet as candy. We are so happy to have come across this restaurant offering farm-to-table cuisine and will definitely return when we are in the area again.

OUTSTANDING! Refined, exquisite and flavorful cuisine- our party of four didn’t leave a drop on our plates! New to Litchfield from NYC, we have dined at WSG several times. WSG boats a wide menu of healthy, delicious food that delights the palate without being heavy. This establishment is one of the best that I have been to in a long time. My fiance and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this establishment, James, and he is just wonderful. Our waiter was kind and punctual with our food, and the bartender was friendly, upbeat, and has a great skill for creating drinks. I had a blood orange mixed drink and it was delicious, as well as the linguine and salmon. It was cooked to perfection and the display was so pretty. We are 100% coming back here!! Highly recommend if you enjoy a personable, cozy experience with high quality food and drinks.

We had such a great experience at Village Restaurant! Mallory, our bartender/server, was absolutely incredible—friendly, bubbly, and genuinely happy. Her energy and customer service are some of the best we’ve had in a long time, and she truly makes this place a must-stop whenever you’re in the area. The food was excellent as well. The salads were fresh and flavorful, and the house-made farm mozzarella—VERY lightly breaded and served with prosciutto, white cream sauce, mushrooms, and capers—was absolutely amazing. It’s the kind of dish you’ll be talking about long after the meal. Between the great food and Mallory’s outstanding service, Village Restaurant is definitely a spot we’ll be returning to often. Highly recommend!

The lunch was delicious. I had the pumpkin spice soup with a side sandwich, and both were full of flavor. My date ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with fries, and those fries were hot, crispy, and served fresh. The restaurant has a cozy bar and a charming atmosphere, especially knowing the building is over 120 years old. The wait staff were attentive, polite, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. I would definitely come back.

We flew into Hartford and drove to Litchfield (our first time to visit CT) and stopped for dinner at the Village Restaurant and were NOT disappointed. Friendly staff seated us immediately and Andrew did an amazing job serving us. The food was delicious (sorry I forgot photos) but I had the Sole with crab, my wife had the fried oysters and the claim chowder, and my sister in law had the meatloaf and all of us loved our dishes. We started with some delicious nachos as well. If you are visiting Litchfield then I highly recommend dinner at the Village Restaurant.

Found this place after a karate tournament. There were 11 of us and they were able to accommodate us I think because it was an odd time (330) The food was really good and not one person complained and there were a lot of clean plates. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful with suggestions. If every in the area again will definitely go there

The village Inn food is absolutely terrific. For their burgers, including the vegetarian and salmon ones, they use a beautiful bakery across the street. My vegan Kanata, olives and eggplant Pizza was really good. Do you know how difficult it is to make a vegan pizza taste good? Our server was really sweet and demonstrated the perfect balance of fawning and forgetting about us. One of our lunch guests had the crab and salmon cake and wow, did it look good! The whole of Litchfield is looking rather worn for its years. I used to go here decades ago with my husband, whose family lived in the area. It’s also a bit dark for my taste., In the middle of the day. But it still doesn’t take away the charm. Again, the food is really really good maybe on a day that’s not rainy and misty And generally grim, the atmosphere would be a little bit less leaden.

They also serve gelato and different sodas. The decor was very cute and vintage. Parking is out front; we parked a short distance away across the town green. The vineyard offers a lively atmosphere with live music and a food truck, making it a great place to spend an afternoon. Visitors can also purchase gifts for wine enthusiasts at the large bar area.
This is my favorite vineyard and will always be! I love the large selection of wines, especially the fruit ones like blueberry and mango. Today my mom gave blood earlier in the day and we got a little care package from Katelyn of some chocolate cake, a Fascia’s chocolate bar, a Capri sun and some extra water! They truly go above and beyond for customers and it is always a pleasure to come here. Thank you Katelyn and all of the Sunset Meadows family!!

It's a nice vinery. Very picturesque with a cozy seating area outside. But you can't do a tasting outside, which was a bummer. You can only do it at the bar and they don't have bar stools, so not too convenient. I did wines and chocolates. The white wine was very light, so I liked it. The chocolates pairing was appropriate, though cream filled chocolates were too sweet.

I stopped by sunset meadow vineyard for the first time on Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend. From the moment we entered the winery, Katelyn greeted us politely & she happily welcomed us in. It was after 5pm, she was very pleasant, friendly & just great to us. We asked for recommendations on the wine & she was very knowledgeable & explained with details at least 4 different wines, we were able to do a couple of wine tasting too, until we decided on the one we liked the most. We bought a couple of bottles of wine to go & two glasses of wine to have there because of Katelyn's excellent, above & beyond customer service & kindness. We enjoyed our glasses of wine sitting at the patio watching the beautiful sunset. Thank you Katelyn! We highly recommend Sunset Meadow vineyards, great place, great wine, great staff.

Saw a lot of butterflies too.. Overall, a place for refreshment in the nature.. There were warning signs for wild bear. So, be-aware and go in groups.

Quite possibly the most beautiful estate grounds in Connecticut. Lots of families and folks with dogs, as well as signs of horses on the trail. Some of the trails were overgrown, but they were still hike-able and runnable. I was there on a late Saturday evening and it was still busy. The menu includes sundaes topped with caramel, fudge, and fresh fruit. The cozy spot provides indoor and outdoor seating with a comfy-casual atmosphere suitable for all ages.
Great options of ice cream, smooth creamy and tasty. I had the Khalua coffee and tried my fiancé's peanut butter one and chocolate mousse and all were excellent. Friendly staff too! Highly recommended!

We were passing by and the place is very cozy and the ice creams are delicious. We ordered an affogato and a banana split, we were surprised by the portion of the banana we shared 4 people from a single order.

I love the nostalgic atmosphere! There is plenty of seating both indoors and out for the steady stream of customers and a wide choice of ice cream flavors. The salted caramel sundae in a waffle bowl, creme soda and cotton candy flavored candy stick delighted my inner child 😋 I highly recommend this ice cream shop for a delicious sweet treat!

Great ice cream , good portions and excellent customer service. I love the outside seating area although it would be nice if they had a restroom instead of a port a potty.

Dairy free ice cream, sherbert, coffee, baked goods, gluten free baked goods! Outdoor and indoor seating. REAL ice cream without artificial stuff and chemicals. LOVE!

Friendly and welcoming atmosphere (with both indoor and outdoor seating). Good variety of ice cream flavors. The ice cream itself was tasty and generously portioned. Would recommend.

The owner of Peaches N Cream in Litchfield is super nice! The only place in the area that offers sugar free ice cream! The best sugar free ice cream I have had. Has some really good flavors, too! Cantaloupe Coriander is a very different flavor yet very delicious! Thank you to Peaches N Cream for making this diabetic happy for serving sugar free ice cream. Also, for having great service!

My husband and I passed Peaches and Cream a number of times and always vowed we'd try their ice cream. It's located in a sweet looking little house, has plenty parking and an outdoor area with tables for a real old fashioned icream parlor experience. Well, we were in the area two weeks ago and decided to give it a try. All I can say is wow. I ordered a small cone with one scoop of cherry vanilla. Not only was the scoop huge, the ice cream was a dream. Creamy, smooth and delicious! The girl who waited on us was friendly and asked if I wanted to try the Bordeau Cherry flavor and gave me a sample. I loved it so much, I went back the following week and had a huge single scoop in a sugar cone this time. Again, it was luscious and tasty, and again, served with a smile. I can't wait to try their other innovative ice cream flavors, as I mean to try them all. If you're an ice cream lover, do yourself a favor and give Peaches and Cream a try! Highly recommend!

The Warner Theatre in Torrington is a restored Art Deco movie theater from the 1930s that offers a diverse range of performances, including musicals, opera films, Broadway productions, and concerts. Visitors can also explore the nearby Washington Art Association and Gallery to appreciate local artwork. The theater's ambiance is praised for its friendly staff, comfortable seating with a good view of the stage, and beautiful art deco decor. Additionally, it provides convenient parking options for attendees.
I've attended quite a few events and shows here now. Both theaters are beautiful. There is an excellent selection of shows and events throughout the year. Something for everyone. The Warner is beautiful and well maitnained. The staff and volunteers are very friendly. I highly recommend a visit or twenty.

We attended a show on April 23rd that was great fun. Packed house. Everyone in attendance seemed to be having an equally good time. The Beatles vs. the Rolling Stones concert showcased two cover bands that delivered fine music and impersonations of these two very famous rock and roll bands. As a GM local guide, I'm surprised to see I have not reviewed Warner yet, having seen several productions here over the years now. The stage is small enough to be intimate but big enough to rank as a true theater which includes balcony seating. Technically there are 1,772 seats here. Closing in 1989 to reopen in 1992 after renovations it remains a popular place to see a show. The art deco design is classic. The Warner will be celebrating it's 100th anniversary in 2031. We really enjoyed the Nancy Sinatra video "These Boots Are Made For Walking" during intermission.

Welcome to the Bushnell West; if you enjoy the Bushnell in Hartford, you will probably have a good experience at the Warner, as it is now run by the Bushnell. Hold fast to your positive memories of strong community theatre productions, because the Warner barely produces them. The Warner is a gorgeous theater with a rich history, but I get the very strong feeling that the people who saved it from the wrecking ball in 1982 would not be happy that the Bushnell is now controlling the Warner.
Conrad S — Google review
This theater was really beautiful and very lovely to experience a concert in. Seats were comfortable, all at a slight angle so you could see the stage easily. Bathrooms were very lovely and accessible. Sunday was free street parking, the Warner theater has a small lot I think in the back of the building, but the tour buses took up most of it, but even if you had to pay for parking, there was a lot available on the street.

Reviewing Warner Theater's CLUE- A Walking Mystery. 3 stars because I haven't actually done the event (although have done similar in Hartford) otherwise I would have given this event "1 star" based solely on what they are charging for this event. You are basically paying $37 for a booklet with a few pgs of clues. Fees are getting out of control. This one they chg. $7. Nope. I'm imagining I might put a group together, pay the one time $44, get a clue booklet, and split the cost. And, $17 for a toddler, WHY? Except they tell you exactly where each clue is. I prefer the thrill of the hunt. No thank you.

For my first experience at the Warner Theatere, I attended the Emo Orchestra featuring Hawthorne Heights. It was incredible! The interior of the venue was gorgeous, clean, & easy to navigate. The staff was also very helpful! Looking forward to returning in the future.

I came here for a play on a Friday night and love the venue. It's very pretty and not too big, a nice intimate place. They serve drinks and snacks before shows and have plenty of parking nearby. The only con is that it is pretty far from main CT cities so takes a bit to get to.
Sammi — Google review
Fantastic theater! The staff is friendly and helpful. They have small snacks and water available. The theater is very well kept and clean. Parking is available on the street or directly behind the theater. There are side exits in the theater that lead to the parking lot in back.

The quality of service at Ollie's Pizza may not have been exceptional, but it should be noted that there was only one waitress handling takeout orders and attending to all the tables, which considering the circumstances, was satisfactory. However, the food itself was outstanding. The salads were exceptionally fresh and offered a distinct taste. The sauce they used was delightful as well. Furthermore, their prices were fairly reasonable given today's standards.
Ollie's burger comes with plenty of bacon and nice and juicy. Lots of onion rings on the side for the $2.50 extra. My wife's chef salad was piled high with ham and mozzarella. Old school pizza place vibe; the kind of spot where the front door is propped open with a chair. Will definitely return

Aye t̾e̾r̾p̾y̾fam here go a quicc slide by on Ollie P's.... Its ya typical new england "greek style" pizza shop. Its not as deep dish as most Greek pies and doesn't seem as buttered up but overall its a decent slice for what it is.... Not a huge fan as overall the salt levels were tipping scales but the crisp was a win. Honestly if they went with A fresher slightly sweetened sauce to comp the cheese n dough it would be a knockout greek rendition Middle of the pack but better than most in the area for sure.

Stopped here on a whim today and loved it! The buffalo chips are a must try and my husband loved the classy pie. Casual interior and genuine, friendly service, will definitely be back.
Maria B — Google review
The pizza and garlic knots were good. We also had the buffalo mac and cheese… it tasted like Kraft and was super gross. The salsa that came with the pasta was good though. Friendly service, and quiet.
Cassie L — Google review
Normally I rave about Ollie’s. The people there are always genuine and nice. Unfortunately the food is not consistent. Some days great, some days not so much. I guess it depends on who is cooking that day. Please see the photo. This is NOT a $15 sandwich. I wouldn’t call this close to a $15 sandwich. I don’t understand why a restaurant would present a sandwich this way. Please note this is today. We called in for take out. Last week we had a good meal at the restaurant. Should it matter whether you’re going to see your food immediately?

Stopped here while traveling through. The exterior reminds you of a classic British store front, but the interior is a decidedly modern Italian restaurant with fair prices and good food. The Parmesan bites were some of the best I've ever had, and while the margarita pizza is not traditional, it was positively delicious and bursting with flavor.
Mike H — Google review
Love the charm of this little corner Pizza joint. Great family atmosphere. The food is great too! ;) We’ve tried their pizza (good sauce, great crust), their pasta with marinara (the sauce is very bright and tart, tasty, their pasta was alright, tad over cooked), their wings (buffalo and Honey BBQ) are both fantastic, (we recommend asking for extra crispy), their onion rings are DELICIOUS, and their chicken cutlet grinder really hits the spot. Go during off times in the season for a simple, quiet, date. They don’t blast obnoxious music. 🙌🏽👍🏽👏🏽👌🏽❤️🤝

I used to get takeout here all the time when I heard there was NEW owners I gave it a shot. Had the cheese steak grinder and let me say what a Joke There was NO MEAT what a waste of money ! New owners need to understand repeat business is what make you a success will NOT be back !

Nestled in the picturesque town of Litchfield, DiFrancos Restaurant is a delightful destination for anyone who adores pizza. This charming eatery has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors, offering an authentic taste of the area’s culinary delights.
I don’t even know where to begin… the family that owns this establishment is beyond sweet and accommodating! The food is so damn good! I love it here!! Don’t hesitate go here and enjoy a delicious, hot meal and be greeted by the most sweetest family ever!

Everything tasted fresh. Nice outdoor seating area. The calzone crust was fluffy and crisp. Just be warned if you order the large calzone it’s enormous like enough for four people.

DiFrancos is a solid Italian restaurant located directly on the Litchfield green. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food is good. I got the chicken saltimbocca and it was solid. The desserts were also good. The prices are fair for the quality of food provided. The waitstaff were friendly as well.

Fantastic food and service! My all time favorite is the Chicken Florentine over pasta ! Delish ! And their rolls are to die for! Great job!

Casual little family restaurant with friendly service on the green in Litchfield. I always get pizza or calzone because they have a great crust and a tasty sauce. My husband ordered sptnikopta, and it was just OK. I like to stick to the comforting Italian dishes—they never disappoint. It’s fun to sit on the patio and people watch too!

First visit... wonderful server, very welcoming. We had coconut shrimp, French onion soup, a personal pizza from the special menu, and an omelet. The food was decent for the good prices. The total was 41.oo (and that included a soda and iced coffee). The restaurant appeared clean and had a nice neutral ambiance. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 is that there were a lot of flies. Not a couple, which I understand... but enough that it was a distraction so they would not land on our food.

Fettuccine Alfredo was cooked perfectly and the white cream sauce was top shelf... Broccoli Rabe, sausage and beans were equally delicious. Please note that the photos indicate about half of the portions served. Everything was so delicious I just couldn't stop eating to take photos! De Franco's has great outdoor seating right off West St in Downtown Litchfield, a super friendly staff, a great lunch menu and reasonable prices. Biker friendly.

Restaurant
DaCapo of Litchfield is a popular establishment known for its authentic Italian cuisine, serving both individual and family-sized portions of traditional homestyle recipes. The restaurant boasts a charming brick-lined interior and a beautiful patio area. While some diners may have to move indoors due to bugs or colder weather, the experience remains enjoyable. A standout dish is the flavorful Pork tenderloin, enhanced with delectable bacon bits and cooked onions.
Really nice place! Restaurant is beautiful and food was really good. Kids and husband ordered sea food pasta and it was outstanding, sauce was really flavorful. My chicken parm was ok, I was expecting more seasoning maybe, sauce was kinda blend. Overall a really nice experience.

I had such a wonderful experience at Da Capo Restaurant! The Da Capo Chips were an absolute highlight – perfectly cooked in a light batter flavorful, and addictive. I also ordered the Tuscany Salad, and the staff went above and beyond by graciously swapping out the mozzarella for feta. They didn’t just sprinkle it on, they gave me a generous block of creamy feta that made the dish unforgettable. We sat on the beautiful outdoor patio overlooking a beautiful array of flowers which created the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. Between the delicious food, the thoughtful service, and the lovely atmosphere, Da Capo’s is a spot I’ll definitely return to again when in town.

Food is always phenomenal here. My wife loves the Buratta toast for an app and I love the chicken parm. I avoid dairy, so hence the photo of chicken parm with no cheese. Service was phenomenal, our waiter went above and beyond for us, even during a weekend rush hour!
Matt D — Google review
I’ve been going here many years and I’m not sure how to give this review, because the quality of the food changes every time they have a new owner. When they first opened this place the food was incredible, and then it was below average, and now it changed again. Last I went it was just average, nothing like it was when it first opened. But by no means was the food bad! 2nd experience: I believe there are new owners, the food is significantly more bland, and the drink I ordered was way too bitter.

We started off with fried oysters, which were delicious and also had a bottle of Ruffino Chianti with our meal my wife had the salmon with potatoes, beets, and carrots. She said it was delicious and I had the sirloin grilled medium rare with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We finished our meal with dessert, and my wife had the tiramisu and I had the chocolate mousse cheesecakewhich was very rich and delicious. We also took home a small margarita pizza which they cook in a brick oven and was delicious when we got home.

We were driving through Litchfield county and decided to stop here for lunch. They were very accommodating and let us sit on the patio with our small dog. They even brought her a take out container of ice water! For drinks we had some seasonal sangrias and we ordered the burrata and prosciutto appetizer. I didn’t get a picture because we ate it so fast! Everything tasted fresh and high quality. My only complaint is they only gave us two slices of bread for the whole appetizer which felt like it could have used four. We split a sausage+broccoli rabe pizza and an apple salad. They let us sub goat cheese for the gorgonzola which was nice. The pizza was so good, we somehow finished the whole thing. It had the perfect wood-fired oven taste without being too burned. It was a good size for 2-3 people as a meal or 4-6 as an app. The patio is gorgeous in the summer. The garden is so pretty and serene. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive which made everything even nicer. If we are ever in the area again we will be sure to go!

Latin American restaurant
Sol Café offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious food and top-tier service. The Latino restaurant in Connecticut is praised for its authentic and flavorful dishes, including Dominican cuisine. The handcrafted drink mixes and diverse menu options, ranging from traditional to more American fare, add to the appeal of this off-the-beaten-path gem. While some patrons note that the service could be more attentive, the freshly prepared hot food and refreshing drinks leave a positive impression.
Wish I took a picture when it came out. Smelled so good I didnt think of it till my plate was almost done. The smoothies were fantastic. Rice perfect texture. Presentation was nice. The waiters are super nice. I'm an hour away. I can see myself taking the drive can coming back. If your in the area, i recommend if your into spanish food. We had pastelitos chicken, beef, and cheese. Tostones. White rice, with side of beans. Yellow rice with beans. Pork shoulder. Breaded chicken. A strawberry, and a pineapple smoothie. Check this cute spot out.

The food was absolutely delicious 🤤 the service could have been a bit better in terms of friendliness and attentiveness. No issue on my end with the time it took to get my food as it was being cooked in the back so it came out hot & good. They have somewhat of a bar and although I didn't have anything besides water/soda to drink the drinks I saw being made looked very tasty and refreshing. I will definitely be circling back to try some other items. I had the beef turnover, steak rice bowl, oxtails (to go), and my friend had the pork chop of course rice and beans. The portion sizes were filling couldn't eat it all in one sitting. If you're thinking of trying I recommend you do. Enjoy...

Food & service have been nothing short of TOP TIER at Sol Café. In my humble opinion, one of the most underrated and deliciously curated Latino restaurants in all of Connecticut! I mean that whole heartedly and this place has continued to exceed my expectations. I’ve been a customer for almost 2 years, and I can’t be any more satisfied with my experiences throughout my time here! Cheers to many years to come!🎉

Wonderful place. Our waitress was incredibly helpful, letting us make changes to dishes or drink specials. All drink mixes made by hand, no premade sugary mixers. Lots of choices, both traditional dishes and more American options. Off the beat and paths, overall a nice place with good music and great food. They also have food to go.

Great food, very authentic and tasty. The delivery and presentation NOT SO MUCH!! I ordered twice to my job and BOTH times they didn’t close the bean sauce lid and it spilt into the bottom of the bag 😡 😠 😤
Kayy M — Google review
My fiancé and I visited the cafe this past weekend, and our experience was terrible. Despite being the only customers dining there, we waited for an hour and received nothing but the lemonades we ordered. It was frustrating to watch staff members continuously fulfill multiple online orders while we remained unattended. We ordered three appetizers: wings, nachos, and calamari, WHICH SHOULD NOT TAKE A FULL HOUR TO SERVE, especially when we were the only ones in the restaurant. Ultimately, we decided to leave because we could no longer wait. I can't help but wonder if the delay was influenced by the fact that we are Black in a predominantly Spanish restaurant. Whatever the reason, the service we received was completely unacceptable.
