Ski & Snowboard Areas
Snowshoe Mountain Resort is a low-key retreat offering various accommodations, a spa, ski trails, and numerous outdoor activities. Nestled in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic region, it boasts over 250 skiable acres with a vertical drop of more than 1000 feet and an elevation exceeding 4800 feet. With an average annual snowfall of about 180 inches, it's a popular destination for both novice and experienced snow enthusiasts.
We planned a summer trip to Snowshoe with a large group of extended family. Unfortunately a medical emergency resulted in canceling our original stay. We had reserved a privately owned home in the Brigham Collection Black Bear Crossing area. The Snowshoe reservation specialist went above & beyond to make sure we would be able to reschedule our trip to keep from losing our entire rental fee. We ended up rescheduling our trip a few weeks later & had a wonderful time. Highlights included convenient location to a number of restaurants (Starbucks!) & excellent shopping. Beautiful sunsets & breathtaking mountain views all around. Amazing mountain bike trails & so much more that we didn’t have enough time to explore.

We visited in late January and had a great experience. They had a ton of snow. Loved the feel of a real ski resort with the village, plenty of trails, and a great ski school for the kids. Pretty easy to navigate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Silver Creek is a great alternative as well.

I’ve only visited in the summertime and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery, fun activities, and great shopping and dining options. I loved riding the chair lift to enjoy the scenery and was surprised when a doe and fawn ran across the grass right in front of me. There are wildflowers everywhere. My kids loved the climbing wall and the lake with kayaks, canoes, and inflatables.

Awesome veiws, awesome trails, the personnel were friendly and helpful, the eateries were really good, clean and inviting, cant wait to return! Might even buy a condo! If your into outdoor activities weither mountain biking, snow sports or just hiking, snowshoe has it all!

We absolutely love Snowshoe! It is only 10 hours from us and we go at least once a year. We have stayed all over the resort, from the inn to different cabins/condos over the years. There is something for everyone and I love that it never gets too crowded. The snow cannons make for good skiing even if Mother Nature doesn’t produce much.

Went for the 4848 festival. It was beautiful, our place was so nice- right at the lift. Weather has a mind of its own. The bike park is so cool.

A Magical Christmas Getaway at Snowshoe Mountain – 10/10, Highly Recommend (Especially if You Like Joy, Snow, and Santa) We spent our Christmas holiday nestled in a cozy cabin at Snowshoe Mountain, and let me just say—if you’re looking to turn your holiday into a Hallmark movie with better snacks and actual snow, this is the place. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like it had been perfectly scripted for a festive family adventure. On our second night, we were gifted 8 inches of fresh snow—like Mother Nature had read the memo and decided to deliver a Christmas miracle. The kids woke up to a postcard-perfect white Christmas, complete with jaw-dropping views and the kind of scenery that makes you pause mid-sentence just to soak it all in. We booked our lift tickets alongside the cabin a couple of months in advance (pro tip: plan ahead), and the pickup process was smoother than a freshly waxed snowboard. We were first in line at Top of the World rentals, and the staff had everything down to a science. Lift lines? Barely a thing—our longest wait was four minutes, which is just enough time to adjust your goggles, question your skill level, and remind yourself you’re here for fun, not the Olympics. Lockers were available for all the gear and personal items we didn’t want to launch off a mountain, and with every lift running thanks to the fresh snow, we got in a full day of skiing—interrupted only by vital snack-and-cocoa breaks. Transportation around the resort was a breeze thanks to the on-call shuttle service. With limited parking, we were thankful not to play bumper cars in the snow. The shuttles picked us up and dropped us off like VIPs on vacation, which, honestly, we were. Despite it being the holiday, everything was open as usual—some spots even extended their hours to host a Santa and Mrs. Claus tree lighting event, complete with hot chocolate, candy canes, and enough Christmas spirit to warm even the iciest toes. Yes, the shops were charming and touristy (we expected nothing less), and yes, the food prices reflected their mountaintop exclusivity—but when you're dining at the top of the world, a little sticker shock is part of the view. We also signed up for the snow tubing family pack, which was an absolute blast. Laughter was non-stop, snowballs may have flown, and no one left with dry gloves or a straight face. There's also a delightful little coffee shop in the village—perfect for warming up, refueling, or just pretending you're a winter sports pro on a break. In short, Snowshoe Mountain gave us everything we hoped for and more: unforgettable family time, spectacular scenery, and memories that will outlast the pine needles still hiding in our luggage. Whether you’re skiing, sipping hot cocoa by the fire, or simply gazing at the snowy mountain peaks, Snowshoe is where holiday magic happens. 10/10 would recommend. Best Christmas we’ve had in years—and that’s saying something, because we’ve had some pretty great ones.

Pizza restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Snowshoe WV, Cheat Mountain Pizza is a popular pizzeria and bar offering classic pies, subs, and cocktails. The informal, window-lined eatery provides a spacious indoor and outdoor seating area for visitors to enjoy their specialty pizzas, sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes, and a selection of craft beer. It's known for its entertaining atmosphere and delicious deep-dish pizza that's perfect for fueling up before hitting the slopes.
Pizza was good with a glass of Guiness. This was my first time visiting Cheat Mountain Pizza, and my first time exploring Snowshoe. I enjoyed the seating of the place. I caught it during a slow time when not so many people were flocking around. So it wasn't lively like I was hoping, but it was relaxing. The next time I'm at Snowshoe Village and feel like having some pizza I'll pay this place another visit.

I hate to do this because I usually only leave 5 star reviews. But I felt inclined to let people know the deal. First off the service sucks. The wings they brought us out were completely cold on the inside. They did comp them so I appreciate that but the pizza was absolutely terrible. Hunts brothers pizza is better than this stuff. I highly recommend going anywhere else. Oh yeah we found a huge hair in the ranch that we didn't even mention because we were ready to go.
Johnny D — Google review
The food is absolutely terrible. Extremely low quality for crazy high prices. Server and majority of staff also very unfriendly. Looks like a great spot to eat while biking but we heavily regret sitting down here and grabbing food.

🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 <- speaks for itself. We usually are super generous bc stuff happens, but that was by far the worst pizza. I would rather have a hunk of pizza from the gas station. 💯

Mozzarella sticks were hollow shells with nothing inside. They were sent back. Without request new mozzarella sticks were brought out 30min later. Our actual food order still has not started because they screwed up our appetizer. So for an hour and a half we get to watch everyone complete their meals that were ordered 30min or more after us. We never received our entire dinner order for the 8 of us. Horrible service experience, however the manager did what was right and comp all our food minus the warm beers given. Half happy.
Flip F — Google review
We were a little worried as there was no one there at noon on a Saturday but decided to try it. Service was decent refilling my drink three or four times. Pizza was much better than expected. It was a little pricey but have you understand you are up on a mountain. Would go back.

My wife had “The Work” pizza and I had gluten free five cheese pizza. My wife’s pizza was a bit overcooked but she liked it aside from that. My gluten free pizza had thin crust, which usually isn’t my preference but the delicious amount of cheese and sauce well made up for that. This was one of the best gluten free pizzas I’ve ever had!
Ethan L — Google review
We stopped here for lunch after morning of skiing/snowboarding. We ordered 2 large pizzas, the Works & Jamaican jerk pizza I think and some sodas. The table next to us who got there 10 mins after us got their pizzas and appetizers first. We just kept waiting and after 15 mins, I asked our server and she brought them out right away so I’m not sure if the pizzas were just sitting there or what but the service was super super slow.. but the pizzas themselves were delicious!! Our hunger may have contributed to the deliciousness of the food but I was happy mostly. They need to get more servers or more staff in the kitchen to speed up the food prep bc everyone’s trying to hurry up, eat and go back out on the snow. But overall not bad!

Nestled within a resort lodge, Foxfire Grille is a BBQ eatery that serves up classic American dishes amidst live blues music and stunning scenic views. Despite some closures and limited hours due to COVID, this restaurant remains a favorite spot for visitors seeking delicious burgers and barbecue. The friendly service and reasonably priced menu make it an ideal choice for those looking for a satisfying dining experience.
Options are limited up at Snowshoe for a late dinner, we lucked out big time here. We dove straight in with entrees and loved our choices. Hubby had the catfish po-boy and it was great but my dinner was the bomb / pork shank! Fell off the bone, so flavorful. Loved it. Service was amazing too. Really enjoyed Damon our super friendly & efficient server. Great evening out!

Food was cooked perfectly. First night I got the chicken fried steak and honestly was probably the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. Mashed potatoes and the vegetables were also cooked perfectly. My daughter got the BBQ salmon. Second night I had the pot roast and she had the BBQ pork shank. Both were very tasty and fork tender. Had to wait 15 minutes for a table first night around 6pm. Second night got there at 5pm and was seated right away. I'm surprised to see 3.8 out of 5 stars because our meals were really good.

Foxfire Grill – Snowshoe, WV Visited in August with family and our dog while in Snowshoe, WV. Foxfire has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, which was a big plus. The setting is lovely — Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it’s still a great spot to visit. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else). The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall. The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout — not just a little char, but fully charred. I’ve attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it’s a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy. Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me — enough to take off two stars. Hopefully next time the kitchen cleans up their act. Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) Last visited: August 2025

This was my first visit to snowshoe and I’m glad I stopped by this restaurant for lunch. I had the steak salad and loved it. The vinaigrette was delicious and the steak was tender and cooked exactly as I ordered. Service was very quick. Our server Tom was friendly and attentive, recommending nearby activities.

So this was definitely the best food on the mountain! I ordered a steak sandwich and my husband ordered a chicken breast sandwich. Which was all great! Until I found a hair in my food. Shit happens I definitely understand. But it was unfortunate lol. Still got our vote for the best food we had while we were at Snowshoe.

Great place to grab a bite. We were there on a super busy weekend off season, so servers and the kitchen were struggling. We understood and enjoyed the view from our table.
Sarah S — Google review
Fun place to try out, but not somewhere that I will recurrently going to. Unless you were ordering a sandwich or wings, most of the food was $20 to $40. This might be okay for some people, but it was simply out of my price range for what I wanted to eat. My $22 mac n cheese was good, but not worth that price. Although the food was not my favorite, the service was excellent! When asked if they had chocolate milk, the waiter’s responded with, “No but we can make some for you”. Our waiter was very kind even with our alterations to the meals. Review by Sophia @TastyBitesBySophia on instagram! :)

Probably our favourite restaurant in the village. Ate here twice on a 3 night mtb trip and left totally satisfied. The hostess is wonderful, the servers were friendly and knowledgeable of what they served and what craft beer they had! (That was a plus in our books) The portions of food were a good size and absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend the pork shank and bbq salmon! The view of the mountains was stunning! Indoor and outdoor seating offered. If you eat at the bar you do t have to wait to be seated. They have a few tables with high chairs by the bar where you order food with the bartender, they are not waited on. Small takeout menu. Good selection of craft beer. If you’re a craft beer lover, go for the black IPA! They get pretty full quickly so go early.

The Junction Ale House is a cozy lodge-style restaurant located in Snowshoe, WV, offering American basics and cocktails. The atmosphere is comfortable and lively, with historic decorations adorning the walls. The friendly staff ensures quick service as you indulge in top-rated dishes like Venison Chili, the Junction Burger, and Hot Wings. This unique dining experience takes you back in time with its historical decor depicting the region's logging and railroading history.
We decided to get takeout on a wet rainy night and it was a great idea! Pro tip - if you don’t want to risk bad service or long waits, get take out and watch Korean variety shows in your room instead! In all seriousness though, the food we got was really really good. I got the chicken Alfredo which isn’t the most *traditional* of Alfredos I’ve had but it was really tasty with big chunks of chicken. My husband got the burger and commented on how big and juicy it was. Although we didn’t eat in the restaurant, I definitely would be willing to do so if we come back again. The interior was nice and modern-looking with a decent amount of seating (although I can see it getting busy in peak season).
Lili T — Google review
Overall good solid food and a very nice bartender. He made my Kentucky mule perfectly, the potstickers were nice and tasty. I ordered a pretzel and never received it, I wasn’t charged; however still disappointed. The inside was dirty and the host stand seemed unorganized, I waited for several minutes while about 5 members were at the stand. Overall I would consider going back, but don’t hold the highest expectations.
Maksim B — Google review
Our appetizer’s (dumplings & brussels sprouts) were tasty. The sirloin was very good; pink and warm in the middle as ordered. However the ribs did not appear to be cooked to order and was tough. Our server was very good. Overall a bit on the high side for what was delivered.
Aaron B — Google review
Unfortunately for all involved, the restaurant was unexpectedly busy with not enough staff for dinner tonight. We waited a long time to have our order taken, though our waiter did apologize for the delay. Our meals were hot and delicious however no one checked back with us if we needed anything else (and we had, but made do). I had to ask for the check, they did not notice we were done and waiting. The atmosphere is great, the food was delicious, however at least tonight service was below par. Apologies were given, but it affected our anniversary dinner and we did mind.
Cathy N — Google review
Meh... the food here was boring and tasteless. To make it worse, my server was not good. She looked like she was high and was way slower than the other servers in the restaurant. The food was not at all worth the price they charge. Once again, we have people charging top price for low-grade food. As you go to check out, you will notice extra charges on your bill for eating at the resort. I'm not sure why these are here, aren't taxes enough? Why charge another fee? Anyhow, this place is a no-go if you have taste buds and expect quality.
Will H — Google review
The restaurant itself was amazing and relaxing! However, I ordered a burger and it came out very rare. The waiter said that the cooks are trained to cook burgers 1 way so they don’t ask how you want your burger cooked. This was my first time here and I wish my experience was better to come back.
Juliet K — Google review
I’d probably give The Junction 5-stars if the menu wasn’t so limited and if there were more seats to wait for a table but for a sit down restaurant at a ski resort I was impressed at how well they got the food out. We wait 45 minutes for a table for lunch on a Saturday which is to be expected especially when it’s 2 degrees out. Our server was prompt and excellent. Let us know the status of our order. Everything was delivered hot, fresh, and accurate. I got the garlic Parmesan wings l, which were smaller but crispy, meaty, and the sauce was delicious. I also got the Brussels sprouts. They could have been cooked about a minute longer but they were still good. I would order them both again. The staff was excellent. Liam was our server.

"Convenient Village Spot with Decent Lighter Options" Visited The Junction Ale House during a weekend stay in Snowshoe Village after spending the day at Treasure on the Mountain. We were looking for something on the lighter side and ordered the Asian Dumplings, House Salad with Shrimp, and the Salmon — all were decent and nicely prepared. The only downside was the $15 upcharge to add shrimp to my salad, which felt a bit steep for what was served. That said, the location can’t be beat — right in the heart of the Village with the option to sit outside and enjoy the live music playing nearby. Great spot for a casual meal with a relaxed vibe, especially if you're looking to stay close to the action.

Nestled at the summit of the Soaring Eagle lift within the Top of the World complex, Hoot's Bar and Grill is a vibrant spot that perfectly blends casual dining with an energetic atmosphere. This lively hangout serves up a delightful array of American comfort food, including mouthwatering burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, and flavorful wings—ideal for refueling after a day on the slopes.
Great service and excellent/knowledgeable bartender. Live music typically on Friday and Saturday. Be sure to bring your license. They have pool tables, air hockey, and touch tunes juke box. Outdoor windproof smoking patio just a step away. The grill had standard bar food affair, great burgers. Don't forget to to tip your waitstaff!
Rich D — Google review
I thought this place was going to be nice considering the location of it. Starting with the general cleanliness, it was dirty and run down. There weren't any waitresses or any signs telling you where to go so you just have to figure it out on your own. We ordered food but you had to go to the bar to order your beer. The bartender was an older male that barely acknowledged me. He took a while to acknowledge my general presence and yet, never made eye contact with me. He rudely asked "what do you need." Classy! Got my beer and went to pick up my food. The food looked great! The taste though, definitely not worth the price. I ordered bacon on my burger and it was one of those round frozen, tasteless pieces of bacon that you see at fast food restaurants. I told the lady that handed me my food thank you, she replied with "uh huh." Bottom line is a little customer service would be appreciated especially if you're going to sell tasteless food and overpriced beer.
Will H — Google review
I don’t know what’s up with Snowshoe but customer service problems just seem to pop up with much higher frequency than I’d expect. Hoot’s wasn’t different. Middle aged bartender seems to communicate primarily in grunts and sentences of 5 words or less. For the 40 minutes I was at the bar I didn’t see him be friendly to anyone except people who were obviously his friends. Definitely felt like he viewed the rest of us as a problem he had to put up with. The food was mediocre. They couldn’t mess up the tater tots but the black bean burger was an unholy mess. Just fell apart almost instantly. It was so bland that if it wasn’t topped with way too many raw onions it wouldn’t have had much flavor. Cmon Hoot’s/Snowshoe, do better, please.
Mark P — Google review
As far as food, it’s pretty bad. They were out of burgers, soup, and chicken tenders. All they had left were salad, wings, and a chicken sandwich. All of which is definitely overpriced - i knew that going in though. They were also out of napkins? Seems like the bar/drinks would be good if just hanging out. But I definitely wouldn’t choose here to eat on the mountain.
T — Google review
Fun place to hang out after a day of skiing. I can always make some new friends and pick up a game of pool or two at random. Lots of the resort staff chill here and tend to be pretty cool folks to party with. The drinks are cheap (for snowshoe) and served strong and fast but I'm not impressed with the food options.
Croaker 7 — Google review
Went to see some friends. Great little show of what seemed like locals. The bar layout couldn't have been worse though. Tables turned so people couldn't walk near bar without running into a million people. Bartender was not helpful at all. Asked for a Big Timber as I saw the tap handle and he just said "no." I starred thinking he would say we have this this or that but nothing. Poor service, crazy table layout making it extremely crowded in places, and unfriendly staff. 3 stars feels like too much but 2 stars seem low balling it. 2.5 stars
Matthew J — Google review
Kind of hidden up on the top between check in and rentals but an amazing bar at snowshoe. One of the only places with decent pool tables, air hockey, foosball, and darts. Ski in/out access on slopes, located by one of the fastest chair lifts on the mountain and very close to a hot tub. The best part of hoots other than it's bar games is it's shear size. The bar is very long and bar room is huge! So even when it gets super busy there's still plenty of space to move and breath.
Jacob M — Google review
Was there over New Years, never too crowded, live music for a nicer experience. Busy at lunchtime, have to jump on a table as soon as someone even looks like they might be leaving. But, that's totally expected at a ski resort! Few regulars, very friendly people, a great experience.

The best restaurant in Showshoe and one of the all-time best restaurants we've ever visited. Love and respect the true farm-to-table scratch kitchen. You can absolutely taste the difference. Everything we had was nothing short of exquisite, and items we haven't had elsewhere, and we're big foodies who travel extensively. The fish eggs in the salad were superb with a texture and crunch like no other. For a mountain location, the lobster was clean and sweet. The lentil loaf, my goodness, amazing. Better than most meatloaf I've ever had. The sauces! 🤤 The trout appetizer, delicious. The duck was perfectly cooked and the accompaniment as far as additions and sauces, all natural and perfectly paired; beyond yummy. A meal to remember. If we had time, we would have gone back the very next night.

Great place to enjoy a meal after a long day of skiing. My pork chop was very tender, juicy, and had a great spicy glaze on top. We ordered the carrot cake for dessert and it was enough to feed 5 people and tasted great too! I give it 4 stars because the lobster bisque contains no lobster chucks in it despite the menu stating “Maine lobster” . It is more of a cream of lobster soup.

This was our favorite meal of the trip! We were delighted to see our server from lunch earlier in the day helping us and she was awesome again. The restaurant is beautiful with gorgeous arches and a rustic feel. We thoroughly enjoyed the poached pear salad to start, the scallops & risotto, the pork tenderloin (my son devoured it!), and the DUCK! Oh, the duck was DEELISH! Highly recommend.

Myself and 4 others went here for a nice meal while on vacation. We waited about an hour for our appetizer before we decided to get up and leave. When we went up to leave and they said they were plating our entrees and we had to pay for them anyway, so we sat down and finished the meal. They were fine but extremely small portions. One person in our group ordered a drink and it came in a glass with a lipstick stain and part of the salt rim missing as if someone already drank out of the glass. Two more in our party ordered drinks but never received them. Our server was very nice but we were one of three parties that left or tried to leave before our meals were out. We were still charged full price for everything besides a free dessert. It was very disappointing especially for a special celebration and the last night of our trip.

This was our first time coming to Appalachian Kitchen but certainly will not be our last. I took my girlfriend to Snowshoe to propose to her and in preparation I called the restaurant to see if I could arrange to make the event special. The manager and wait staff went well and above out of their way to coordinate with me. They sat us right in front of the fireplace, played our song over the radio, filmed the occasion for us, and even presented us with champagne! If I could give 10 stars for service I would! Shout out Isabella! On top of that, the food was amazing. My girlfriend got the wild boar stuff quail and would highly recommend! Overall we cannot wait to come back to Appalachian Kitchen. …by the way, she said yes!

Scrumptious meal! Worth every penny we spent. Great ambiance with warm coziness. Farm to table. Chef Ed knows what he is doing in the kitchen. A must if you are staying in Snowshoe. Our waitress was on point and allowed us to enjoy the meal.
Mara W — Google review
Absolutely delicious food, everything was perfectly prepared. We had beat salad, beef carpaccio, the trout, and venison meatloaf. It was as good a meal as I have had anywhere. The service was very slow, a good 15 minutes to be greated and given water (parched after a day on the mountain) and then drink orders, checkout, and being checked on was slow. Could almost take away a star, but the food was so good. And one should have a liitle more patience on vacation, right?
Christopher C — Google review
Was very impressed, especially after reading some of the negative reviews!! I don't think I'd ever order seafood in the mountains as mentioned in other reviews, but the trout pate (locally sourced) tasted incredibly fresh. We also got the Caesar salad which was a REAL Caesar!! It came topped with anchovies and you could taste it in the dressing - it was perfect. We got the sausage special which had really well balanced flavors as well as the venison meatloaf. The meatloaf had a huge portion, a little bland, but still very good. The Creme Brulee was FANTASTIC - the sugar was perfectly torched, not overly burnt like you usually run into. Our server, Daniel was super friendly and personable - we had an amazing time here!

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with The Boathouse, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Skidder Slope. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nestled at the base of the Ballhooter lift on Shavers Lake, The Boathouse is a charming dining spot that perfectly complements your winter adventures. This cozy restaurant, situated within a lodge, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere ideal for those chilly days on the slopes. After an exhilarating day of skiing or exploring the Village, you can unwind here with delicious brews that will keep your energy levels high for more fun in the snow.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is everything for cooking and eating, and everything for relaxation. The bathroom is clean. (Just not enough shower gel and shampoos.) I was very pleased! Great hotel!

We had chili and hot chocolate after a morning of skiing, and it was good. The chili tasted as good as homemade. The hot chocolate was burn-your-mouth hot, but luckily the 15°F weather cooled it down and it was tasty. The inside was completely packed, so don't bank on warming up here. There was plenty of outdoor seating though and with the direct sun it was quite nice even in freezing temperatures.
Jake M — Google review
The building and equipment is run down. It has been on the replacement schedule for about 10 years. The ice cream freezer was acting up when there and only a few flavors of ice cream were soft enough for them to actually be able to scoop. The rest were frozen solid. Nice staff with smiles.

Just got 2 beers and $20's later tried to sit outside and enjoy them. Sitting outside, the heaters were broken, and a strong propane smell in the air noticed by multiple gueats. We had to move away from the deck area. Trash cans are overflowing, not enough staff or oversight from management.

The Boathouse is located at the bottom of the Snowshoe Mountain. Are they recommend stopping in and warming up while snowboarding or skiing at Snowshoe Mountain. They serve wonderful food and all kinds of varieties of cocktails. Good way to warm up your insides wow taking on the slopes

Everyone here was nice. The food was insanely overpriced, but I wanted breakfast so I paid for it. Around $12 for a fountain drink and 2 small canned biscuits with some gravy over top.

Shavers Lake Beach is a perfect destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The beach offers various activities such as kayaking, a water obstacle course, and hiking around the lake. Visitors can enjoy picnicking with the option of renting beach chairs and umbrellas. Additionally, there are amenities like picnic tables, hammocks, and a playground for kids to enjoy. For those looking for more adventure, paddleboats and frisbee golf are available for Snowshoe pass holders.
They thought of everything: boats, inflatables, umbrellas, chairs, etc. Friendly staff watching and helping.

This is not a public beach - it's owned by Snowshoe. We had a fun pass which came along with the lodging, which we used to rent a canoe. Worthwhile if you get the pass through lodging, but I wouldn't pay just to experience the beach.
Mitchell G — Google review
I had a terrible experience here only because they didn’t believe us that we have the tickets and we needed 5 minutes to show them the tickets. They said that we should leave now before they see the tickets , soo rude stuff that you lose your appetite for any kind of activity there. They won’t understand that people are coming there for good mood vacation and good atmosphere and not for arguing with uneducated attendant!
Oktavian A — Google review
Expensive for size. It’s not a lake, it’s a pond. I was not impressed at all. Limited parking because they want people riding the lift (extra $$$ for the resort). Save yourself $30 and just get the view from top of the mountain.
Meng T — Google review
Enjoyed the lakeside beach, kayaking and water obstacle course with my teen boys. Plan to picnic in unless you want to pay a higher price at the boathouse. Be prepared to walk a distance from the parking areas, and a short distance to restrooms. They have beach chairs and umbrellas for use. A few picnic tables and hammocks. A nice little playground and enough sand to warrant bringing some toys to play with. Hike around the lake was nice, and 4 year old nephew managed at a slow pace. Kids 12 and up can stay and play without a parent. The ski lift back to the village was an easy way for my teen son to come back to our rental too 😄👍🏻
K C — Google review
There is a beautiful trail that loops around the lake. I believe that is the high point. There are also paddleboats, frisbee golf and other interesting things available for Snowshoe pass holders. A pass is not required for swimming, hanging out, picnicking, hiking or the playground. Pass holders can ride the Ball Hooter lift down from Snowshoe, or anyone can drive in on Shavers Lake Road.

Tuque's Bar and Grill in Snowshoe, WV, is a must-visit for anyone hitting the slopes. The bar and grill exudes a lively apres-ski vibe with its cozy rustic decor that encourages guests to kick back, relax, and share their adventures.
What a great place to wind down after a long day on the slopes! Our ski club usually meets here during our annual Snowshoe trip, and the staff are always very accommodating. The kitchen makes excellent appetizer platters for our group, and the bar staff always help coordinate drink tickets on their busiest nights. The live music is great, but it often gets crowded at night and is pretty noisy at times.
Tony A — Google review
Food took forever, even the soup. Pizza was cold. Pleasant vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans. Clean floors. Creative short tables attached to columns. Bar crowded with locals/regulars. Man next to me praised his burger. Kitchen serves three restaurants. Food for this restaurant consequently arrives by dumb waiter, and seemingly can sit there for a bit bc not visible to bartender, who has no way to know food arrived without constantly walking over, around the corner. Had stomach ache later that night. No cloth napkins it seems for one's lap. Washroom dated and small. Gluten-free crust is thin and meager. Way over priced for what it is. Iced tea served in plastic cup; not glass.

Wonderful experience- great place to eat lunch or dinner, hang out and listen to music, and watch skiers or bikers go down the runs /trails. Best poutine fries ever! Pizza, salads, sandwiches- everything is delicious and served quick. The wait staff is unbelievably friendly. If you haven’t been to Tuque’s (or The Pizza Slice) you don’t know what you’re missing.

Slope side bar and grill with a decent kitchen. Gets pretty packed when Snowshoe is busy. The smash burger wasn’t really a smash burger- hardly smashed. The sauce was kind of overpowering, didn’t really like it. It was still ok, and the fries were very good.

Nestled in the heart of Snowshoe, West Virginia, Old Spruce Tavern stands out as a beloved dining spot that captures the essence of local culture. Unlike many other eateries in the area, this tavern is a favorite among residents, offering an authentic experience for visitors. With multiple locations including the Tavern and Draft House right in the village and a Brewery located at Silver Creek's entrance, it provides diverse options for enjoying delicious food and craft brews.
Visiting from NY where breakfast sandwiches are known to be the best. We stopped in at Old Spruce to warm ourselves from the cold & snow. Their breakfast menu caught our eye, and of course the kids were hungry (surprise! surprise!) so we ordered the Sunny, Mason and 2 Mothman breakfast sandwiches with tots and hot coco. The service was fast and friendly. Whitney was so sweet and welcoming, truly making us feel at home. I’m the pickier eater out of the family and stressed how I HATE excessive cheese on my sandwiches. Whitney and Kathy assured me that I don’t have to worry about that and to my surprise, that was THE BEST CROISSANT BREAKFAST SANDWICH EVER!!! Reid came down from the kitchen to greet us and was super nice and genuinely appreciative for the business (support small businesses!!!). As we were leaving, we grabbed some of the pastries from the basket (great size and taste for the price) and truly wished we grabbed a whole lot more after we were done eating them. From the hot coco to the breakfast sandwiches to the pastries to the staff, there wasn’t one thing we didn’t enjoy. Please come to NY, we need this level of service and quality of food. We look forward to our return trip in the summer to enjoy more of your menu!! And when in Snowshoe, WV, you MUST stop in at Old Spruce and order a croissant breakfast sandwich, you won’t be disappointed.

Reliably good food, along with good presentation of food. Good prices relative to area and the times. Friendly bartenders. Lots of bar stool seating with satellite tables. Tables in courtyard. Gluten-free beers. Craft sodas. Ciders! Pre-made sandwiches. Let's all close the restroom door after using. Strict on age-checks, as are other village restaurants.

I would have given this more stars, but the food was not quite there...The beer menu is outstanding. My wrap I had for lunch had frozen lettuce on it...very little ranch dressing. Would definitely have beers here again.

Old Spruce is the best bar on the mountain. They brew their own beers. $5 fireball and bourbon shots. $7 breakfast sandwiches. Mimosas and bloody Mary’s. All this and friendly bartenders make a great experience!
Travis W — Google review
They not only have excellent Old Spruce beers on tap, but a full bar. And a modest selection of food is available. Friendly bartender and decent prices for being on top of a mountain where your options are limited.

A reasonably priced, great small spot for really good craft bar and something light but very satisfying to eat. My fiancé and I ate here for lunch everyday we were here for our MTB DH trip. We wanted something just enough to fuel us for the rest of the day riding that wouldn’t make us feel full. Our choice was either the jerk chicken or smoked trout wrap to share. It was a good size half portion. Made fresh and very tasty! We would wash that down with either a soda or their local brewery, Old Spruce, craft beer. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Full small bar inside. Staff was friendly and we look forward to visiting them again!

Well shucks, liquor anyone? How about a charcuterie board? This little place has everything you need to stock a mini bar in your room at fair prices. Small beer selection with a few craft beer choices. I was really impressed with the choices of cheeses, crackers, jams, relishes and meats to make a delightful charcuterie board. Ahhh how nice it was to be RIGHT outside! Such a yummy mocha chip, perfect way to start our day exploring.

I had good experiences on my visit here but I can see this location having challenges. In the off season, they can get easily bogged down with orders as it’s not staffed as heavily in winter months, so it seams. It appears to be a licensed franchise of sorts as it doesn’t accept any order ahead or Starbucks app functions. Staff and products were on point for me, so no complaints there.

All i wanted was an upside down carmel macchiato, thats all. i recieved a latte with carmels syrup. when i expressed to them that it was not what i wanted, they said it was double upside down??? all i wanted was my espresso then ice then milk then carmel, and i expressed that to them. Which they then proceeded just to hand me a regular carmel macciato. not cool guys.

If you like waiting 30 minutes for coffee, then this is your place. With no real other options in the morning this is about it. Just bring your coffee and make it in the room. The quality is okay, nothing special. The issue they have is that no one seems to really want to take the register. there are a ton walking around and paper shuffling but only 1 register and the line never moves. Granted there are quite a few people ordering for several people but they need to have a few more on registers or have the ability to order mobile and pickup. 1 star for the location and 1 star because the people seem pretty friendly.
Tim S — Google review
New location has a lot more room, but is not nearly as inviting. Interior is bland, almost warehouse-like. Needs some type, any type of decor. It's a ski resort, warm up the ambiance. With nothing on the walls it just feels cold and uninviting in here. As far as the food and drinks, it's Starbucks, you know what is coming. It's just like every other Starbucks location. The service was exceptional. Very friendly and amicable staff. Wasn't crowded at all but the server was efficient at completing our order.
Dave H — Google review
Drinks were good and out rather quickly considering the line. Baristas were nice and attentive. It’s a ski town, on top of a mountain, all help is seasonal, and this is the only coffee shop on the summit. Some of these reviewers seem to be expecting something different, and well I can just say I was very thankful this coffee shop was available for a nice warm up break from the slopes.

This is the far worst Starbucks on this planet, in fact if it’s a Starbucks because all the cups, utensils and napkins they are using are of Starbucks, upon asking why most of the items are not available, we were told that it’s not Starbucks. First of all Starbucks doesn’t franchise and calling themselves Starbucks is shame on them. Starbucks should really close this location in the first place. Customer service is a joke and it looks like a norm here. Starbucks take pride in their customer service but this particular Starbucks should receive minus million point on customer service. Rude and highly disrespectful and unprofessional, asking my wife for a SSID to prove that it’s her using her own CC. shame on you and shame on you for using Starbucks name. Please go ahead and fire everybody including the manager in the first place. Obnoxiously rudest people, please go and learn some etiquette or attend some classes where they teach you how to respect a another fellow human. We are customers and not some wild animals the way guy treating us. You should be close down and if the corporate is even bothered seeing this review and others than they should get the gist of it.

Worst Starbucks I have ever visited!!! This one is licensed by snowshoe and well the quality and service suck, and that’s putting it nicely! Expect 30-60 min waits, for then to be out of a lot of things, and to advertise that they take Starbucks rewards and don’t! O and the prices have about a 25% upcharge. O want water, it’s not free here (even though it is at their other restaurants!). Have a dietary restriction - proceed with caution! Folks before me ordered non fat lattes. I asked for 1% milk for coffee since their creamers were “ask barista”. Was told they didn’t have nonfat/skim, 1% or 2% yet they were taking orders and making non fat lattes…

Splitrock Pools is a versatile and enjoyable swimming area suitable for all ages. It features an indoor/outdoor heated pool with a slide, sauna, and hot tubs, offering stunning views. The facility includes a charming play area for children and spacious lagoon-like pools. Visitors can also benefit from the convenience of its location near the town strip mall. While it may be challenging to find parking at times, the overall experience is described as fun and family-friendly.
Hot tubs and a heated pool, I've been there in -7 and still swam outside. Tons of fun for the family!

I recently visited the spa at a ski resort, and it was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had. Almost nothing met expectations. • Facilities: The dry sauna was out of order, only one of the two hot tubs was operational, and the indoor pool was freezing cold. The entire facility looked old, dirty, and poorly maintained. It’s clear that the place is in desperate need of renovation. • Service: The service was the most unpleasant part of the visit. The staff was rude and completely unprofessional. When we asked for a dry towel, we were flatly refused. There were no hair dryers available either. The worst experience occurred when we politely asked to make the dry sauna a little warmer. Instead of a reasonable discussion, one staff member began shouting and behaving aggressively, eventually asking us to leave the spa entirely. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone. On top of that, I believe this facility needs a thorough health inspection and a full renovation. A video of the incident and the name of the rude staff member (Mekey) are attached.

Visited on Sunday night, after a day on the slops. Horrible place! Locker room is tiny, with small rusted lockers. It snowed, so we asked for two towels each, as they get wet outside, and heard the lecture that it is not allowed. Hot pool is not hot at all, jacuzzi smelled like some chemical, and dry sauna was only around room temperature. We added a little water, as you suppose to do to warm it up at least a little, but heard aka manager Mekey screaming at us to stop. Now, everyone understands that you visit it at your own risk, but Mekey was beyond rude! We decided to leave only to find out that there is no soap or hairdryers in the locker rooms! This place deserves 0 stars, really. We asked for a refund, but Mekey was rude and refused to process it. It is only $15, but I was much happier to take a simple shower in our clean hotel room. Avoid!

Like much at Snowshoe, could use an little upgrading. Lockers in the men's room are rusted out and the indoor pool area is a little beat up. Outside area looks much nicer but is not open consistently (probably staffing challenges) and one of the hot tubs was broke on our last visit. But overall, the important thing is the kids love it.

If I could 0 star this place I would. My husband and 6 year old son just came back to the room 8 minutes ago. The lifeguards around this pool are absolutely atrocious, screaming at children for “running” which he wasn’t. Screaming over a 2 foot slide with kids going 2 at a time. We understand rules to keep children safe however this was overkill. Not only was it $30 for both my husband and son to swim for less than an hour but it was a terrible experience and we will NOT be back. There is a serious management issue with this particular area of snowshoe. Truly the laughing stock of the mountain. If your child is above 3 years old beware and DO NOT take them to this area.

The indoor/outdoor heated pool situation is awesome. I love that it’s 3 ft all the way around so the kids have a little more freedom. The slides were great. Hot tubs were great. I think more chlorine needs to be used, we didn’t really smell it much when we were there and with a public facility - I want to know it’s well chlorinated. The locker rooms need some major cosmetic updates as well to make the facility really feel nice, to match the surrounding village. Also, the natural gas smell you can smell in the ladies locker room needs to be taken care of (staff said it’s always been that way).

They’re now having to enforce the no alcohol rule in the hot tubs. Please be courteous to staff. Exit process begins 8:45 to leave by 9pm. Lockers have been painted since older reviews. Be safe have fun.

The water was warm and the staff was nice, it was a great place to relax after the day of skiing, but I have to say this place needs some major improvements. The floors inside seem to be unfinished, leaving debris and dirt on the bottom of your feet, which obviously gets tracked into the pools. The lockers were probably the worst I have ever seen, rusty and very dirty, again I think from dust coming off the flooring. I did not want to even put my belongings inside of them. This place has potential but as a non resort guest, I would never spend $16 to swim here again, until improvements are made to the facilities.
