Lavender Hill Farm, a family-owned farm since 1882, boasts over eight varieties of lavender flowers planted in 2011. The farm is a sought-after venue for weddings, offering a picturesque setting amidst the fragrant lavender fields and an expansive barn for gatherings. Visitors can enjoy leisurely tours on golf carts led by passionate college students who share insights about the farm and its products.
Perfect way to spend part of a day. Encourage everyone to take the cart tour. For $8.00 per person you can see the rows and rows of lavender, learn about so many different types of lavender, how the plants are taken care of, the many benefits lavender provides and, if you're really lucky, get to have Morgan as your guide. Every member of the staff that we encountered was friendly and knowledgeable. Allie being the first to greet us, Eric entertaining us with his story and the ladies in the gift shop taking extra time to help us find the right items were much appreciated. Highly recommend the lavender cookies, they're delicious.

Lavender Hill Farm is a really nice place to visit. Well laid out and small enough for the most part that you can easily take it all in, in one go around. Our tour guide Layla was very knowledgeable about the inner workings of the farm and lavender overall! The thing that stuck out to me the most was the fantastic smell of the whole farm. The wind just smells of sweet lavender and that was very pleasant to the senses I must say. Definitely will be back again when we are up this way.

Amazing place to visit if you’re in town! This beautiful lavender farm has no entry fee and offers affordable treats like lavender shakes and ice cream, both delicious. I absolutely loved their charming little shop, one of the best lavenderly designed I’ve seen, and the washroom floors are uniquely made of coins! It can get busy during the day, but they have additional parking about 100 meters away. I highly recommend enjoying the lavender garden, indulging in their ice cream, and taking in the gorgeous views. They also host shows during the busy season, check their website for details. We visited in the first week of August and had a great time. There’s also a paid tour if you’re interested, plus a small trail for a leisurely walk. Plan to spend at least 30–45 minutes here to truly enjoy the experience and more if you want to take lots of photographs.
Nitin G — Google review
Lavender Hill Farm blossoms may have passed, yet the huge area's fragrance still filled one with calmness. The outbuildings offered behind the scenes information on production. The abundant gift shop offered a delightful array of goodies! Their lavender shortbread cookies taste heavenly! I visited twice too buy more! I was amazed at the women's bathroom floor! 😂

I recently visited Lavender Hill Farm in Boyne City, Michigan and had a pleasant time. The farm is beautiful and peaceful, with a lovely atmosphere and lots of great lavender-themed products. They offer a golf cart for a small fee per person to tour around the lavender hills! In the gift shop I picked up quite a few souvenirs to take home—everything was well-made and smelled amazing! I want to mention Kimberly, the cashier, who kindly packed each of my gifts in separate bags just as I requested. It was a small but thoughtful gesture that I appreciated. Overall, it’s a charming place and definitely worth a visit if you enjoy lavender or are looking for unique local gifts.
Kyial S — Google review
Beautiful location to wander around! My kids and I enjoyed the lavender lemonade spritz and lavender shortbread cookies while sitting in a fairy garden overlooking the lavender fields. Nice gift shop. Best enjoyed with your own picnic and during one of their concerts, or on a nice day when you want to wander through the best smelling fields.
Kirsten M — Google review
We stopped by here during our vacation in Boyne Falls. Everyone was so welcoming and informative. They had bingo in the event barn, which sounded fun! We opted for a golf cart tour with George who was very knowledgeable and inviting. Then we did a u-pick bundle, took a stroll and then grabbed some drinks (iced lavender latte, lavender lemonade fizz and lavender sweet tea) and had lunch on the porch overlooking the lavender fields. Afterwards, we went inside to shop a little. Everything was so beautiful and every time the wind blows you smell the sweet lavender. Side note: As cattle farmers ourselves we loved to learn that this place used to be a dairy farm. I’m so glad we opted to visit during our trip! We would definitely return in the future if we are ever up this way.
Deserae C — Google review
Beautiful lavender farm kinda in the middle of nowhere. Facilities and grounds look amazing, they sell everything you can think of with lavender. You can do guided tours and pick your own bunch of lavender. They have an outdoor amphitheater and an indoor venue for various events. Definitely worth the stop!

State Parks
Young State Park is a 560-acre natural haven located on the shores of Lake Charlevoix in Boyne City. The park offers various amenities such as beaches, campgrounds, nature trails, and a cedar swamp. Visitors can enjoy the small clean beach, fishing pond, public bathhouse, art installations by the pond, fire pits near the lake, and spacious camping areas with some spots right by the lakeside.
Great place to camp. Nice lake in walking distance, with a park store. Bathrooms and showers. 3 miles from Boyne city, but is very secluded so you don’t feel like you’re close to town. The park is about a half mile from the entrance. Tent camping and rv camping. Boat launch, swings by the beach. Electrical hookup. Benches at each site with a fire pit. Some sites are right on the water. $10 fee to unload your rv. Recreational pass required.

A nighty fine experience! I even had a wild rain storm roll in at 3am that I actually enjoyed lol. This is literally the perfect campground. Very laid back with plenty for the kids to as well. 1 of the most scenic state parks in Michigan.

Great State Park. Older facilities but who camps for the bathrooms and showers? Great beach and on a beautiful lake.
Richard E — Google review
We love Young State Park. We've been coming here for nearly 30 years. Some of the nicer sites are a bit smaller. We don't mind because of our smaller trailer. My biggest complaint here is that there's just a single dump spot with 2 potable fresh water and a non potable rinse for the dump spot. This makes for a long wait to dump and get water during check in and check out. We enjoy hiking the trail that starts near the boat launch. It's a bit challenging especially after rain, as the trail isn't particularly well maintained. Prepare for mosquitos on the trails. There's a lot to do in the area, from Boyne City to Charlevoix, South to Fisherman's Island and North to Petoskey. All a short trip away. Lots of wine tasting and farmers markets during the warm months. If you like boating and fishing, Lake Charlevoix is great. I like to get drone video of the beautiful water from the boat, since State Parks don't allow you to launch/land in them.
Brandon P — Google review
One of the State Park favorites by far. Clean & quite with beautiful lake views and easy access throughout the Park. Nearby Boyne City with a very nice bike path access. Staff maintains a friendly & visual presence within the park that aids in keeping things under control and safe. Excellent travel destination for any camper.

At Young State Park along Lake Charlevoix's shoreline in Boyne City, Michigan was feet-wetting fun, clean and clear. The sand felt like a tantalizing foot massage.

Very nice campground with decent size sites and lots of trees. Walking distance to Lake Charlevoix with nice beach. Hiking trails weren't marked very well but managed to find my way for over a 4 mile hike. Nice paved bike trail that goes to Boyne City. Not sure exactly how long the bike trail is.

Stopped by on a Thursday , drove past winery, up towards the house , because I didn’t realize the winery was in the front building. There was a woman pulling weeds in a flower bed next to the driveway. We stopped and she told us that the winery was actually closed but if we were interested she would open it up for us. We drove back down and met her at the front door, was amazed that she would do this. Yes , she only had 6 wines but they were very good. We actually had a lovely, long talk with her and learned that her husband had always wanted a winery and now that they have one he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and is unable to help run the business . She is an amazing person to be running a business, taking care of her husband, and being a very caring Grandmother. We very much enjoyed the wine and the conversation!! If you get the opportunity to stop here it will be worth your time . The “open “ hours are tough due to her schedule, but definitely worth it !!

This place is closed! We just put them in our wine tour and wasted our clients time and money, because it says open.
Up R — Google review
It was ok...they have about 6 wines all of which were from very to semi dry. There "sweet" wines are not terribly sweet. Was able to try 3 for $5. Decent size glasses. We actually had a free glass as well. Owner stopped by and we had a nice conversation.
Keith J — Google review
We loved this quaint little winery. My husband and I had a wonderful time trying their delicious wines and chatting with Susan. Highly recommend! I’m not a big fan of white wine, but theirs was so good - we bought two bottles! A fun day activity in Charlevoix.
Sarah K — Google review
Unfortunately we drove 45 minutes on a Sunday and the winery was closed though their website showed it open. Call ahead with these gas prices. Would have loved to tried some different wines.
Leann C — Google review
The wines were surprisingly good. John should be an inspiration to us all in creating such a great operation, tasting room, and great wines. He is an inspiration to me and my wife for his accomplishments...so much so that we have now planted 300 of our own vines down state! Thank you John. Hope our wines will be as good as yours.

Pizza restaurant
Little Caesars Pizza is a popular carry-out chain known for its chicken wings, signature breadsticks, and pizzas made from housemade dough. Customers often praise the quality of their food, with some mentioning that they always order extra cheese and are pleased when their requests are fulfilled. The pizza is described as not being overcooked, and the wings are highly recommended.
We got the pretzel crust pizza. It wasn't available for fast pick up but they quickly made one for us. It was well made and the staff was friendly.
Janet S — Google review
Our order was all correct, food was good and hot. Our only issue was the manager (heard her get called up by another employee for change) came up and took over cashing people out after getting change, and she was very rude to myself and 2 other customers in front of me. I have came in here before and had the same experience with her. Her rudness definitely affected the experience for us and others. We were polite, she really needs to learn how to be polite...unfortunately for being a manager she can be very rude. Best experience we had here was with the other manager with the lip piercing and red hair. She went above ans beyond for us and others in front of me...always smiling and making sure we had everything we needed.
Celeste H — Google review
So after a long day adulting I didn’t feel like cooking and I had a taste for chicken wings. Never in my life have I ever been served this traditional wings with extra sauce. Freezer burn and I wouldn’t serve this to my dog. I wish I could share a picture
Qahhar I — Google review
Amanda was the Manager and she was rude as hell. They forgot to enter my pizza, which ok that happen, but when the pizza came out it was wrong toppings. She offered to credit me on my next order...I was like no I want what I ordered. She said it was policy and there was nothing she could do. Very unprofessional. And the way she bittled the staff...I wouldn't work for her either. This place has went downhill so much!! Sad because 4 years ago there were kids running the place and the service was great and the pizzas came out great!!
Pete M — Google review
Workers change our pretty often at this location, but an online order typically comes in on point 95% of the time. Good food, on time. My complaint is the pricing is getting up there for a chain known for "cheap" pizza. I can get some more "quality" pizza at the same price locally now, so don't go to Caesars as often as the $5 pepperoni times
Tara I — Google review
This location has gone down hill. Every single hot and ready is off. When you go to pick one up its as dry and off as a gas station pizza. Again... if they dont sell pizzas all day... your going to get an old pizza.
Dropz — Google review
I don't even give this business one star. I ordered a hot and ready the lady said it was fresh it wasn't and this is the second time this week so I call and complain to someone woman that didn't even give a shit she was rude and ignorant like she was the one with a shitty dinner. Never again

French restaurant
Cafe Santé is a charming bistro with a cozy patio that offers a variety of delectable dishes and Belgian brews. The restaurant is known for its old-fashioned European style menu, featuring options like escargot, wood-fired pizzas, and other classic dishes. It's an excellent choice for those looking for a higher-class breakfast spot, offering items such as smoked beef hash, Irish oats, eggs benedict, quiche lorraine, and Vienna pancakes.
Best food in town. Stopped in on a Monday night and it was quite busy. Everything was so good. We had a Pizza, the Bolognese Pasta, shrimp scampi and meatballs. We also ordered a couple sides of Linguine for the kids. Amazing taste and even though we were all full, we shared the hazelnut crepe cake for dessert which was to die for. Will definitely stop by next time we are in town!!
Melanie E — Google review
Cafe Santé is an absolute gem! Their brunch is outstanding – every dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The salads are crisp, creative, and packed with vibrant ingredients that make them feel both healthy and indulgent. And the charcuterie board? Simply incredible – a perfect selection of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments that pairs wonderfully with their drinks. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend Cafe Santé for anyone looking for delicious food and a memorable dining experience!
Jacky L — Google review
Fine dining without the exorberant cost. Exceptional value. Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful location in lovely Boyne City by Lake Charlevoix. When I return, (you betcha!) I'll try more than just breakfast, although I was definitely not disappointed with their Vienna Pancakes and their Eggs Benedict. Absolutely delicious!
Mary B — Google review
Café Santé offers a charming bistro atmosphere along the Boyne City waterfront, with a menu rooted in classic European comfort fare. Across two visits, I found the experience uneven, with one dish meeting expectations and another falling short. On the first occasion, the fish and chips delivered exactly what this pub classic should: crisp, golden batter giving way to moist, flaky fish. The fries were competently executed, and the portion generous, though a touch more seasoning in the batter could have elevated it further. The second visit, featuring the whitefish with lemon sauce, proved less successful. While the fish itself was cooked with care, the overall composition lacked vibrancy. The lemon sauce was pleasant at first but quickly became repetitive, with little in the way of contrast to keep the palate engaged. The accompaniments offered texture but not freshness; the absence of a green vegetable or herbaceous counterpoint left the dish feeling incomplete. Service on both visits was warm and efficient, and the space itself is inviting. Still, for a destination bistro in a region known for its fresh local whitefish, I had hoped for a more balanced and dynamic plate. My rating: ★★★☆☆ 1 star — I will never return. 2 stars — If nearby, I might return, but without urgency. 3 stars — Worth a visit if in the area, though not a destination in itself. 4 stars — Worth going out of your way to enjoy. 5 stars — I would fly around the world for this meal.
Caleb C — Google review
We had such a great experience at Café Sante! The location is absolutely perfect—right on the water with stunning views. The atmosphere was amazing, especially if you sit outside during sunset. It’s such a peaceful and beautiful setting. Our server was wonderful—super friendly and attentive—but things were a bit slower than usual, likely just due to being short-staffed. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The food was truly delicious—everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a scenic spot with great food and a relaxing vibe!
Rachael B — Google review
The veiw and atmosphere of this place is fantastic. The food was also great. 3 of us had the Americano breakfast. Our daughter had pancakes as her usual, she love the them. That's a kids portion in the picture. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the American cheese in my eggs. I eat far to clean for that taste. I wish I would have got some of their specialty items listed. They looked amazing when coming out to others tables. Coffee was also good. Friends went for dinner later in the evening per our recommendation.

We enjoyed our chicken marsala and whitefish entrees. The atmosphere of the restaurant, and service by Kailey was outstanding. Also tried lunch & Breakfast. Perfect meals every time!

Northern Michigan is a delightful destination that offers an abundance of sunshine, enjoyable activities, and breathtaking natural landscapes. However, one common gripe among visitors has been the lack of exceptional dining options. Thankfully, Bella Vita stands out as an exceptional restaurant in the region. Renowned for its delectable seafood dishes and inviting ambiance, this establishment also doubles as an art gallery where all displayed artwork is available for purchase.
We were traveling through the area and a local recommended this amazing place! We sat at the bar and owner Matt was the bar tender! He gave great suggestions on the food and our meal was excellent! His wife Kelly gave us some ideas on areas to visit while in town and we were able to see some places that were not on our list. If you are traveling in Northern Michigan, this is a must! You know if it is full of locals, it has to be the best!

Bella Vita is a hidden gem. Enjoyable dinner, excellent service, and an atmosphere full of loyal regular customers all having a great time. I started with the beef tenderloin carpaccio with cappers, ground mustard (this really added to the dish), and parmesan. Very good, although the shredded lettuce was not necessary. Next, a side dinner salad with house dressing, actually very good, just the right amount of dressing. My main course was their Pasta Casalinga, sautéed chicken, olives, tomatoes, garlic, and parmesan. Very good flavor, but unfortunately, they overcooked the pasta with very little chicken. Family owned, open from May to October. I will definitely come back for another dinner. Don't be fooled by the dirt/stone parking lot, It is worth the visit.

Absolutely fantastic in every way, the perfect place for our anniversary dinner. Starting with the food: Exceptional! I loved the Bucatini Bolognese, and thankfully, the serving was generous. My husband enjoyed the Pollo Piccata, and it was delicious, too (yes, I admit I had a few bites 😋). The entrees included and were preceded by a fresh salad and crusty, warm bread. Bella Vita’s interior is quite simple but tasteful, with starched white tablecloths. Our server, Laura, a delight — knowledgeable, extremely friendly and attentive, always with her big smile. Even other patrons seated nearby were friendly and clearly love this gem of a small restaurant. We concluded the meal with the (chocolate mint) housemade Gelato, so you’ll definitely want to save a bit of room. Bravo, Bella Vita! Can’t wait to return.

Been going to this place for years and it has never disappointed. The parmesan encrusted walleye is the best ever and the Bolognese is primo also. One of the reviewers wrote "don't judge a book by its cover" and she is so right. Have recommended Bella Vita to everyone from Indiana who travels to the area and all have thanked me for a great recommendation.

From entering to leaving, the experience was beyond what we expected. We read it was a hidden gem, and that is an understatement when you being helped by Loagen. She was amazing! She spent time with us, explaining the menu, the drinks, the sauces and restaurant itself. The food was stellar… we had the chicken piccata, the lasagna, the Alfredo with mushrooms and the amazing Carbonara. There wasn’t a thing wrong and when we come back to the area, it will be the first stop
John C — Google review
Had two wonderful dinners last week and had nothing less than great experiences each time. The walleye is always recommended, even if the preparation changes, and the lasagna is delicious.

This is a must for people who like Italian food. Me and my wife Travel to the Petoskey/Boyne area every year for our Anniversary and this place has been #1 on our list ever since we started this tradition. Everything is made in-house. The food is top-teir. The service is top-teir and the vibe is 1950's country club. The vast majority of patrons are senior citizens but they probably have been coming here for decades, which is aa testament to their food and service. The waiters/waitresses even know many of the patrons by name and remember their past experiences with them. Give this a shot, you will not be disappointed you did.

Avalanche Preserve is a stunning 320-acre natural retreat that invites outdoor enthusiasts to immerse themselves in its diverse offerings throughout the year. Whether you're hiking, mountain biking, or enjoying a leisurely jog, this park has something for everyone. With three miles of designated hiking trails and twelve miles of single-track paths, it caters to all skill levels. The preserve also features activities like disc golf, sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and archery.
We took the Trail Head near the warming building up to the lookout. The trail was well marked and in good shape considering the recent ice storm/rain. The first 1.5 miles were easy with a few inclines. The remaining 1mile was a pretty consistent rise in elevation which was more of a challenge for our casual hiking experience. The end result was worth every bit of the short hike. There are 2 decks with seating and also stand alone park benches. The views were amazing long range and unobstructed angles.

Spectacular view! Especially during the fall season. I play disc golf here often and it's a fun course, but some the baskets are really far apart. The first 10 are great, but the last bit of the course is quite the hike. Great place to get out and enjoy nature.

One of our favorite places to hike and mountain bike. I love that they are separate trail systems - I hate surprising people when I’m on a bike. It’s a climb to the top either way, no doubt, but the view of lake Charlevoix is incredible, in any season. We have snowshoed in the winter and that was great too. If you are hiking, walk up the backside and then take the stairs down.
Mary M — Google review
We were here in the fall during a fall color trip. We were recommended this place by some local people and it was totally worth it. One friend didn't want to make the hike all the way to the top but the two of us went up there (462 steps) and it wasn't bad at all. The scenery completely made up for the trouble.
Feryal A — Google review
If you want to see a most beautiful site and get your steps in, this is a must do attraction. 462 steps to the top not counting all the steps it takes to get to the actual steps. Amazing view and if we could have gone at peak tree color would have been very beautiful. Amazing view over Charlevoix lake. Well worth the drive to find this place. Absolutely amazing!
Terry G — Google review
All I can say is wow the view is phenomenal.

Beautiful place, i always make a point of hiking/walking at avalanche at least once during every trip to Boyne City (sometimes more than once... Every day!) Has a disc golf course and mountain bike trails. I believe you can snowmobile and snowshoe or ski here during the winter. The view from the top is absolutely beautiful, well worth the ~300+ stairs (or the easier but longer walk up a trail).

It’s such a cool place and so excited that they have such a phenomenal talent playing right there! If you’re a big music fan check out Martin Sexton I believe he is playing freshwater on May 18 or 19th. Phenomenal artist John Mayer called him the best songwriter of our time .

Honestly the coolest place in the tip of the mitt. Wonderful art and cottage items to outfit your place up north at reasonable prices. Covers the spectrum from woodsy to eccentric. And the most fun place to see music I have ever been at. Tony and Robin have it happening here, and they are a treasure to Boyne City and the area

Love the view from the new location - and the gallery is stunning! I have taken two classes and they were an incredible value for what I learned. The art in the gallery shows the diversity and depth of creativity in our community and is priced so that there is something for everyone. It is nice that there is an elevator for those not able to do the stairs to the second floor. The Boyne Arts Center is a jewel in the heart of Boyne City!

Changing rooms, showers, splash pad; great little park. But why did the city name the ordinance banning dogs K-9 instead of A-9?

Nice small quiet park, with swimming area and ability to fish. Just stay away from any of the marina property/piers/water. They will politely ask you to stop/move. Our boys only caught a few small fish, but we did see others catch a couple larger fish.

Nice and relaxing beachside area. The algae is plentiful in the water which makes me question the safety of swimming. It's a small beach, but when I visited it wasn't crowded at all.

Pristine and beautiful. Wilderness State Park is a gem that's worth a visit. White sand that is softer than down state, Lake Michigan. On the beach are pretty yellow wildflowers. You can see the land mass of the UP from the beach here I didn't go swimming.as it's a tad too cold for me. Not very crowded, either

The splash pad and outdoor showers to rinse didn't work, but that may get fixed. The water can be a bit yucky near the rocks. It is a nice beach otherwise.

The food was great! My only complaint is i got a gumballhead 3 floyds beer from the paper beer list my server gave me and it did not end up being what the paper said. I later saw on the tvs above the bar that it was zombie dust. Then later i ordered an oddside shamrock beer and got another zombie dust instead. ?? dont know if it was a bartender or server problem but very disappointed with my beer experience.

I really enjoyed this place.. until today sadly. We dined on Tuesday August 12th around 6pm - 8pm. Owners - I highly recommend you place cameras in your establishment or at least look at them. We weren't acknowledged until 20 minutes after we sat down - at which point we weren't even given menus. We had to wait longer for those. Two tables that had sat after we did, received their food before us. Our food took 40+ minutes (two sandwiches). There was a mound of salt on my plate.. disgusting. The female bartender was eating food and going on her phone in front of guests. Our server was also up at the bar, flirting, touching, and conversing for long periods of time with who I would assume to be her boyfriend. Don't even get me started on the girl with brown straight hair and a hot pink phone. She spent most of two hours on her phone, glued to it. She even ran into me as I was walking into the bathroom - again she was on her phone. You are wasting money employing her. This was a horrible experience. It took us 2 hours to get 2 sandwiches and 2 rounds of easy drinks for $74. I really really did enjoy this place and recommend it to others. But today leaves me feeling otherwise. I cant even begin to explain how awful this was - coming from someone who's been in the service industry for years! You really need some more professional, willing to work, and knowledgeable of health code and etiquette guidelines, staff for the days when your phenomenal servers and male bartender aren't there.

We had our wedding reception here on October 18th and could not have asked for a better group of people to work with. We so appreciate the owners, Rich and Aaron, giving us the opportunity to have the space, and a huge shout out to both Aaron and Liam for helping us put together the most delicious food menu. Every single person was blown away by the food, the service (thank you, Scotty, for your awesome energy and bartending skills) and the atmosphere in general. Putting a wedding together was very stressful with lots of surprises, but being surrounded by these fabulous humans made it so much better. Shout out to the Sleeping Gypsies who played for us - you bring such amazing talent and heart into everything you play. Big shout out to Maddi, whose flowers made the reception absolutely magical. We had the time of our lives and you helped to make it unforgettable. We love you all! <3 The Pleaks and the Rabers

The food was so amazing. Honestly way better than we thought it was gunna be. My husband got the cowboy burger and it was huge and delicious he said. I definitely recommend!!
Kelli B — Google review
The service was very nice and attentive. They, however, had an inexperienced bartender, so quite a few drinks were bad or wrong. We saw her looking up how to make the drinks on her phone. It was not her fault, but the restaurant should not have had her making drinks. We had a table of six and waited 1.5 hours for our food. For the most part, our food was good. I do not recommend getting the perch, was not good, and came out cold. Overall, I would give it a 3.

Visitors rave about the flavorful dishes like General's Chicken and terrific egg rolls, making it a must-visit for those craving hearty and tasty Chinese food in the area.
We stayed in Boyne for a week, and we got food from here twice. It was so good! The Lad Nah was my favorite dish, I got it both times, and my husband enjoyed their Szechuan chicken and Mongolian beef. Can't wait to have it again when we're in the area!

On a Tuesday afternoon we ordered General Tsao’s chicken, as well as shrimp fried rice and two eggrolls. We asked that the onions be withheld from all the above – and they were! We also asked that the General Tsao’s chicken be slightly spicy – and it was! Overall, a very good meal, not excellent. There was less shrimp in the shrimp fried rice than we expected, and the rice seemed a little overdone. The protein in the General Tsao’s chicken could’ve been cut up a bit smaller. Aside from that, I like the carry out pick up only. We will be back.
Chris B — Google review
We finally decided to try the food here which didn't disappoint. Delicious Chinese and Thai food to go with good portions in downtown Boyne City. We enjoyed the Princess Shrimp, Pad Thai, Kung Pao Chicken and Schezuan Beef with fried rice. We will be back again.
Sherman T — Google review
I ordered Generals Chicken extra spicy. Not only did they kill it on my order, they added an extra spice container to mix in if it wasn’t spicy enough. Didn’t use it because they nailed it dead on but the fact they provided it just tells you the pride they take in making sure you have a good experience. Please support this restaurant so we can all continue to enjoy it!!!

Small niche eatery. Food was fresh. The portions were a tad small, but the prices were not outrageous. The plates were small so there better but is likely with the carry-out. Each dish that I tasted was carefully prepared, colorful and delightful. I would eat here again of I return to this area.

VERY soggy. Soup sesame chicken. Also their text notification is broken. They know it. So our food sat getting cold as we assumed it worked and it wasn’t ready.

Carry out only but wow are they good. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options! Always great food and good service.
Tiffany G — Google review
I’ve ordered several times from here and very few times have they let me down. A few times my sesame chicken tasted off or was really soupy with less meat than normal, but out of the 50 times we have ordered seriously only a handful of times were we disappointed. I have noticed their containers seem smaller than other take out restaurants- but they are absolutely the best around the area hands down! Couple times they seem to forget the crab wontons - but it’s probably because they are super busy, because they are the best around 💕 Kinda bummed that they open at four, as I would love to be able to go during lunch times - But thank you for serving good food!!!! Looking forward to ordering again soon

Absolutely fantastic spot! My family and I were up in Boyne on vacation and stumbled into Lake Street Market for lunch — what a find! The vibe is relaxed and local, and the food is truly something special. I had The Boss’s New Favorite sandwich and honestly… it was the best sandwich I’ve had in a long time. If I could eat one like that every day, I’d be a happy man. We also grabbed some fresh-made Tuscan bean salad, and the kids loved picking out fun local sodas and unique drinks from the cooler — they’ve got an awesome selection. Being from Chicago, I’m used to everything costing a small fortune, but here the value was spot-on. Great portions, high quality ingredients, and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re truly on vacation — local, unpretentious, and delicious. Highly recommend stopping in for a relaxing afternoon lunch if you’re anywhere near Boyne.

Riverside Park

Park
Riverside Park in Boyne City offers a serene and natural setting for visitors to enjoy the beauty of Bear River. Spanning 5 acres, this park features rustic campsites, boat launches, and riverside walking trails. It's a tranquil spot where you can often spot deer and various bird species, including two resident swans. The slow river current allows for leisurely canoeing and kayaking upstream, with sandy areas perfect for wading into the water.
It’s a great natural park. I always see a few deer and tons of different birds. Two swans inhabit the large section of river. It’s always peaceful and quiet. There is water access for canoeing and kayaking. The current is slow enough, allowing you to paddle upstream a mile or two. You can bring a chair out into the water and stand in waist deep water. It’s sandier than I expected.

Nice park with lots of activity options, as the sign at the roadside says. There are tennis and pickleball courts, ball fields and soccer fields. The city page and the sign says there are trails too. There is a very minimal playground as well. The city page also says there's concession building with restrooms that's open during sporting events. I couldn't find a designated parking, so I parked along the drive that winds into the park but I'm not sure how that's enough during busy time. There's a cool Boyne City sign along the road as well.

Really beautiful and clean tennis courts. It can get busy in the summer, so i recommend going early. Everyone else who played was nice, the energy at the courts very friendly. I will be frequently visiting next summer, looking forward to it! Great work Boyne!

Great pickleball courts (4), a couple of tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, and a little bit of playground equipment. If you live in Boyne City and have kids playing sports, you'll probably feel like you live here part time. The younger sibling amenities could use an upgrade.

Playground
Old City Park is a beautifully maintained outdoor space in Boyne City. The park features playground equipment for children, a charming gazebo, and benches for relaxation. Visitors can stroll along the riverfront walkway and admire a water statue while enjoying the shade provided by the park's trees. Despite occasional issues with litter around the gazebo, the park offers free parking and even an EV charger.
Beautifully maintained park. The most recent event we attended was the Pirate Festival, which was AMAZING! All of the activities and photo opportunities were wonderful and free! Everyone was so friendly... and festive! The kids loved everything, as did the adults. We will definitely be back next year and dressed like pirates! Thank you, Boyne City, for such a great time!
Lois B — Google review
Nice, shady park for families to enjoy the outdoors. There are steps that lead right down to the water but there is a current. Not too far of a walk from the lake.
Shannon E — Google review
Usually pretty quiet playground and it was this evening.
Ron S — Google review
The city has attempted to do a nice job keeping the park clean and nice for all to enjoy. There are a few pieces of playground equipment the little ones can use, and a gazebo to sit, relax, and enjoy some shade. It's unfortunate some less than responsible individuals use the gazebo for their social gatherings and leave their garbage behind. We stopped there in an attempt to enjoy ice cream in the park, but the closest ice cream place has closed. I would recommend a stroll through town or a visit to another park if you're looking for treats and to spend a significant amount of time.

Restaurant
The Boyne River Inn has recently reopened under new management, and visitors are thrilled to have it back. The restaurant boasts a friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a great atmosphere. Guests have raved about the delicious food options, including the olive burger, brick oven pizzas, fish and chips, and Nutella pizza. While some menu items may have changed with the new ownership, patrons are still finding new favorites like the Slim Jim sandwich.
Recently restored. Soft benches, solid tables, rustic ceiling. Beautiful views of Boyne River and park beyond that. Two separate bar tops. Excellent food. A little pricy but good quality and quantity. Many TV screens to watch.
Rich C — Google review
Rustic restaurant with great food. We had the fried shrimp, they were large and lightly breaded. The roasted vegetables were smoky and seasoned well. Our server was friendly and attentive.
Yvonne E — Google review
I love the food here, it's a blend of classic Americana with an Eastern European twist. The staff are like family and are welcoming and courteous. Daily features and plenty of variety. When I walked in here the first time I was pleasantly surprised to see the ample seating and the huge pizza oven. Have a seat at the pizza bar to watch some masters at their craft.
Matthew M — Google review
Came in late ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza w/ bread sticks and fries the guys in back were nice enough to drop me some fries even though they were just closing friers and grill. Food was excellent fries fluffy & crispy, pizza loaded with toppings, and great homemade bread sticks. And the waitress Celia was awesome. 10/10 definitely coming back when I got time for a few beers.
Clayton S — Google review
I ordered pizza and breadsticks for take out for my family from the Boyne River Inn while visiting for vacation. The breadsticks did not come with any sauce and when my wife asked for some she was offered ranch only. This seemed odd given that breadsticks are served primarily with marinara and pizza red sauce is normally marinara. Once we got the pizza back to where we were staying we found the breadsticks were completely burnt on two sides and of the two pizzas we ordered, one had been completely messed up. The supreme was missing all of its toppings except for sausage which wasn’t even supposed to be on the pizza and mushrooms which we had selected to be removed from the pizza. Quite a let down since the one correct pizza had decent flavor.
Daniel D — Google review
Right on the river, the pizza & fish were awesome! I highly recommend the meat pizza and fish & chips. The drinks were made strong, which is hard to find. The kids liked their meals.

Popular place! Excellent food! They're Hawaiian, Pizza was excellent. On a second visit, I tried the Rocky Mountain burger. And it was the best burger I've eaten in a long time.

We had a very bad experience when we were visiting. We had a party of 6 and one person ordered coffee which arrived 40 minutes later only after we inquired as to where it was. Two people ordered coors light which arrived after the 1st person already had his beer finished. It was so odd. She would deliver one drink at a time. Our food never did arrive and we decided to leave after 1-1/2 hours when we we told they just started cooking our fish and chip and steak orders. The manager was not apologetic at all. She just said to stand out of the way and wait for your bill and stated they were having vomputer issues. Several tables were seated after us and ate and left before we received our food. Very disappointed!

Cafe
Sunnyside Family Diner is a beloved American eatery nestled in Boyne City, renowned for its delectable breakfast and lunch offerings. With over two decades of experience, this family-owned establishment has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The menu boasts an array of classic diner fare such as omelets, pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches. Visitors rave about the mouthwatering breakfast burritos and thick-cut bacon.
First time. Will visit again. Smiling, friendly bunch. French toast breakfast was delicious. Homemade bread, thick lovely bacon served quick with a smile. We loved it. Worth the drive from our hotel in Petoskey. Deliciously yummy.
Cliff Y — Google review
Was looking for a breakfast place and honestly picked this because it was the closest to where we were staying. The price to quality ratio on the food was a bit skewed in my opinion. They did keep the coffee refilled but other than that it just was alright. There was also a 4% surcharge added to the bill before payment which was also not explained. For a pot of eggs and potatoes, the eggs Benedict, a side of hash browns. (Yes both mains did not come with a side) and 2 drinks it was almost $50 out the door.
Rachel — Google review
I had higher hopes, as the outside looked really cute and unique. Upon walking in, one of the servers called us over to a table from across the restaurant - very odd. She said hi, with no other introduction, and no explanation of the menu (some food item descriptions make zero sense) or their cash only policy. The menu strained my eyes - a simpler, easy to read, less cluttered menu would be more appealing. The majority of the food was bland, eggs were not cooked as requested, and the skillet for $16 was extremely extremely lacking. The toast, hash browns, coffee, and waffles were tasty. They have a rather steep add on $$$ for sides. Also very frustrating, as someone in the restaurant industry, to watch as one of their servers swept within a few inches of me at the table I was sitting at, while 3/4 of the restaurant was empty. The music was also incredibly loud. Overall, the atmosphere was obnoxious and the servers need to be retaught table presence, regardless of if its 20 minutes after your last seating. I will not be back, nor recommend. I hope that you guys can fix these issues and make this a hot spot in town as we lack other breakfast options.
Madison R — Google review
I have never eaten here before. Not many breakfast places in Boyne City. Got a nice table outside. Had an omelette with toast. I have to say it was one of the best omelets I have ever eaten. Most breakfast places you can tell if the eggs are out of carton. That omelette was egg cracked and absolutely delicious. The toast l, from what I could tell, had to be made fresh . It was really good. My coffee cup never went empty and my server was on top of everything. I will definitely be back! Cheers!

Our family and sailing community love this breakfast spot. The food has been great every time we’ve visited and they are very accommodating with allergies. I’m allergic to eggs and the staff at Sunnyside always take great care in keeping me safe with their preparation. Highly recommend - friendly service and cute cafe too.

We had both a delicious breakfast and a good time at the restaurant today. The decor was funky and the service was great. Our food was easily customized to fit our desire. Our waiter even hand stamped a few more of the little silverware envelopes with ‘bees’ for us to take. We would go back anytime!
David W — Google review
Apparently the only place in town if you want breakfast at 7 a.m. Wait until 8 a.m. for more (better?) options. Two of us had breakfast for >$40. My spouse had omelette. No toast. No hash browns. Just an omelette. She was expecting more. I just had french toast. Not extraordinary meal. Can not recommended this restaurant. Sorry.

Has Breakfast! Breakfast place in Boyne City! We came to Boyne for the Morel Fest 2024 and happened upon this gem of a diner. We came in at 630 as the open sign was on despite the 7am open hours listed, the owner was our server, cook and everything in between. The breakfast burritos were amazing and his thick cut bacon is definitely worth a visit by itself. Great coffee and the friendly atmosphere will ensure we return again and again!

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a well-established fast-food chain famous for its burgers and fries. Customers appreciate the quality of their fountain drinks and the use of a triple water filtration system, although some are surprised by the high price of large soft drinks. There have been changes in the serving containers, with some questioning the switch to plastic cups instead of traditional paper or cardboard ones.
My 8 year old son and I came in after his baseball game and the staff was short staffed. But they worked their tails off and made it a great experience. The lady was phenomenal.
Jesse A — Google review
Not sure if they’re just that short staff or don’t have adequate people working here. Every time we go thru and order they mess up our orders. This morning ordered steak egg and cheese bagel and got a cheese and egg bagel. We stopped going here because they always mess up and leaving you waiting pulled up forever. Someone please help this place. It’s the only fast food in boyne city. What a shame!!! It’s better to drive the extra 20 minutes to petoskey. Don’t even deserve a one star.
Kimberly B — Google review
Missing ordered item, drinks made too early and melted when arriving at window missed handing straws when asked and had to wait for other item when we were the only order? Then wondered why we waited all tens were cold and chicken products.
Danie L — Google review
It's McDonald's, and yes young people are going to work there, but they need to understand that being on their phone isn't what is important at the time. Literally in the time between the car in front of me and me pulling up the card for the previous driver declined, but the drive thru person didn't see because they were concerned about their phone. Also McDonald's why don't you have breakfast burritos available, not because they are sold out, I was told this particular store doesn't have them.

bad food place all around. not the greatest food ever, it’s def not the cleanest. most people there are rude, during football season they don’t want anyone in there they are rude to the students. i hate giving a bad review but this place has earned a pretty one star. ig ill start driving to E.J. i’ll take my L today but just know mcdanks these reviews are adding up and it’s not looking to good😁
Abel D — Google review
I swear any time I chose to go to McDonald’s for a coffee over Starbucks, Boyne city never wants to add the “xtra caramel” I am charged for it but truly my coffee is disgustingly bitter regardless if I ask for it or not. “Extra” means I should find some in the bottom of my cup. I’m bringing it back next time it happens and I’m probably not going to be very enjoyable to deal with first thing in the morning. Please when someone asks and pays for something, provide it. I also asked for NO CHEESE on my McGriddle but got that as well. Get it together, it’s something everytime I go there… hence the sporadic review I never make. I’m so pissed.. nothing is cheap anymore so stop ripping people off.
Molly B — Google review
terrible service, they couldn’t even keep up with a small breakfast order. They are supposed to be a fast food place, but clearly not. I waited probably 10 minutes by a window just to be told my order was cancelled. wth do you mean my order is cancelled. if you can’t figure out how to cook breakfast then don’t serve it.

Bowling at BC Lanes & The Venue Sports Bar and Grill offers a unique and enjoyable experience, distinct from traditional outings to bars and clubs. It is particularly well-suited for large groups of people seeking fun activities. The bowling alley itself is modern and impeccably clean. Moreover, the establishment provides other exciting options like laser tag, making it an excellent choice for teenagers or those looking for additional entertainment. The staff members are friendly, with one employee even sharing their impressive pinball record story.
2pm Saturday. Perfect service. Great prices. Lanes in good shape. Pro shop open. Old school touches everywhere. Excellent bar. 90s tunes, not too loud. Icing on top: comet pinball from 1985 in good working order. A slice of heaven on earth!

The Bowling here was good. Most of the staff we encountered here were great as well with the exception of our waitress. We decided to have dinner before we bowled... granted we were a larger group, this particular waitress had very little interest in taking care of us. I seldom leave bad reviews because I normally like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the service was that bad and there was no excuse for it. I wish we would have ate dinner while we bowled because the lady taking care of us on that side was kind and attentive. Would not recommend dining here based off that experience.

The bartender was so rude we almost left before we had a chance to bowl. It seemed like we were annoying her when we ordered anything, asked for drinks etc. Maybe try another profession if you are going to be outright mean and rude to people. The bowling was fine, the pizza was decent and overall I would rate the place 4/4.5 if it wasn't for the poor service.

B.C. Pizza of Boyne City is a charming, no-frills eatery that offers an extensive menu featuring specialty pizzas, fresh salads, and hearty subs. For those who enjoy customizing their meals, the option to build your own pasta adds a fun twist to the dining experience. The atmosphere may be simple, but it’s all about the delicious food here!
Clean, dependable, friendly, and competent. Great pizza. There's a tall play area for the kids. We haven't taken advantage of the salad bar. There's a changing station in the ladies' room, not sure of the men's. Highly recommend their specialty pizzas. There are some surprising combinations, but the flavors can't be beat. Our main pizza connection in Northern Michigan 😋

Called at 945 on a Saturday. I needed delivery food. They delivered in 35 minutes. I didn’t have a menu. I asked for a supreme, they sent a pizza, pretty topped with toppings. I also asked for breadsticks or cheese bread. I got both. Pizza, edible. Was adequate, but I would not order again, would try for…anything else. The cheese bread had a flair of papa John’s on an off night. Breadsticks were the best, but very heavy on the garlic salt. So, it fit its needs, but I probably wouldn’t try again.
Richard L — Google review
This pizza is nice that it is a local chain and that they seem to be very involved in the community. But the food itself was just fine. Nothing exceptional, nothing wrong, just fine. It’s not gourmet and it isn’t trash.
Caleb C — Google review
I'm leaving a one-star review because every time I've called up there at least the first 10 times they've given me my pizza and delivered it with no questions asked under $20 it was a $17 order is a medium three meat pizza sometimes with the 2L sometimes without. Consistently afterwards they not only want to charge you for your pizza to make sure everything meets a $20 minimum which for one person is kind of absurd specially when you want to leave a decent tip for your driver. So with that said how is it they can deliver pizzas for less one time and then say it has to be more another and then not deliver a pizza after the fact after they're still adding a $5 delivery fee plus the $10 tip I usually leave my driver so for one person that's eating is a $35 meal at minimum just to meet the requirements. Their pizza is good but it's not that damn good for a $35 meal I'm sorry for one person that's ridiculous and yeah it could be cheaper I could not tip well but I don't do that.
Devin R — Google review
The pizza here is always good. They really do use the best ingredients. Mozzarella cheese stretches when warm like good Mozzarella should. Cheese filled breadsticks are amazing. I'm only knocking things down one star because the restaurant is in need of a makeover. Feels like I'm eating in a room that my kids decorated.
Steve S — Google review
I didn't have high expectations but was pleased with the quality of the pizza! The crust was somewhat thick and chewy, and the pepperonis were flavorful.

The customer service here is amazing! This is the second time I realized that the website kept saving my address incorrectly (by 1 number) and I called to let them know the change in address, I believe Carter was the one who had answered and professionally taken care of the issue, and Justin, the delivery driver, was so nice and understanding!
