Lebanon, Tennessee offers a classic small-town atmosphere with a walkable historic downtown, antique shops, and local restaurants centered around its charming town square. The city is home to the Wilson County Fair–Tennessee State Fair, one of the state’s largest and best-known fairs, drawing visitors with rides, exhibits, and entertainment each year. This park is absolutely beautiful. We stayed a few days to rest, as we're moving cross country from Virginia to Alaska. They accommodated not only our 5th wheel but our enclosed trailer. They're pet friendly too. Showers were immaculate. They don't have sewer.. They DO have dump stations for campers. ❤️ You won't be disappointed with this state park.

It was our first time camping here and we loved it! Campsites were clean and large. Staff members were friendly and helpful. There were also several trails that we went on that were full of adventure. We will definitely be camping here again in the future!
Trisha S — Google review
My kids and I enjoyed the paved .6 mile hike, Cave Creek trail, the Nature Center and the playground close by. The Nature Center did a snake event that was so fun and my kids even got to hold a large snake! The only negative I will mention is that I could not find a baby changing table.
Katlyn S — Google review
I can't rate rooms. We camped, or rather we parked out motorhome there. The lot we had was "back in", and they have water, 35/50 amp service, but no sewer at the sites. But they have great rates and we are enjoying our stay.

Love going here, was disappointed that the host had to remove his halloween maze. We were excited had watched him getting this together on several trips. Went halloween night and it was taken down. My grandson was so disappointed. I heard a guest complained. That seem crazy since it was posted that the campground celebrated halloween with the community. Still love camping here but disappointed we missed the host kindness doing something cool for the kids.

It's a great trail! Although my daughter's couldn't go all the way, it was beautiful. Tons of shade from the trees. Beautiful open areas to sit and take a break. Every person we passed on the trail were super friendly as well. We got to see a ton of horses also walking the trail. I can't wait to go back and do the whole thing, without my kids of course lol.
Brittany C — Google review
Park it's self is amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful. But keep an eye on the park ranger's around your kids and property never know what bs they are up to. Lied to, manipulated, and treated like shit. I do plan on reaching out to the head of Park Rangers to file a complaint because I've been told by 2 police officers and a State Trooper that what he did was illegal and NO Park ranger's can't do what he did!

Very clean and enjoyable. We will definitely be back. The trails were beautiful and well maintained. Park staff helpful.

Very cool historical building in Wilco. Never knew it existed until they had the free activities for kids before Christmas. The activities were great and they even had cedar ornaments for the kids to paint.

This is a very cool historical location. We visited while staying at Cedars of Lebanon State Park and really enjoyed this tour. Make sure to reserve your spot in advance as there is a limited number of tickets per day. It is free to reserve your spot, but a donation is recommended to help keep these sites funded and preserved. You can also make one onsite via a QR code. Aside from the house, barn, outbuildings, blacksmith shop, and broom makers shop, they had chickens. The broom maker is onsite working on Saturdays and sells the brooms right there!Interesting history of the Ford family and later the Reed family. It is worth the visit!
Adam — Google review
I visited Tom Jones's Broom Shed to observe him as he made a broom. I also toured the Sadie Ford Heritage Farm House. I loved seeing how Tom makes the brooms, as well as how he and others have preserved these important historic structures. I purchased an orange-and-white "UT" broom.

Nice state park. With this Saidie Ford additional lands were acquired for the park to manage. We had some home made ice cream and a nice tour of an actual Sears & Robucks catalog built home.

While this is currently closed, the park is working hard to get it open again. They are even working on the trails that are on the property. Can’t wait for this to open, such a beautiful place that is full of history!!

We went on Saturday around one o'clock. I was disappointed the house and buildings were locked. The broom man had his shop open. I always love talking to him.

The Dancing Lights of Christmas

This is our first year going to The Dancing Lights. It was spectacular! We went on a Sunday, and the line moved right along. The displays were beautiful and matched to the music you could listen to while dubbing through. I would definitely recommend adding this to your holiday festivities list of things to do.
Tammy L — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Magical Experience for All Ages! The Dancing Lights of Christmas is absolutely spectacular! From the moment you drive through the gates, you’re surrounded by an explosion of color, creativity, and pure holiday magic. The synchronized light show is perfectly timed with the music — it’s like watching the lights dance right along with the songs. Every section has its own theme, and the attention to detail is just incredible. What really sets it apart is how immersive it feels. You can tune your car radio to the custom station, and the lights move in perfect harmony with the beat — from classic Christmas favorites to fun modern tunes. Kids were laughing, adults were smiling, and everyone was snapping photos and singing along. It truly captures the spirit of the season. The staff were friendly and organized, and even with the line of cars, everything moved smoothly. There are also great photo spots, concessions, and even a few surprises along the way that make the experience extra special. If you’re looking for a family tradition or a holiday date night idea, don’t miss this! The Dancing Lights of Christmas is one of those experiences that leaves you smiling long after you’ve left. It’s festive, heartwarming, and 100% worth the trip. 🎄✨🚗💫

Wonderful drive thru Christmas lights. Santa’s Village had a lot of activities but pricey. Very good Santa.
Dana S — Google review
I have visited the lights for the last few years and it has quickly become a holiday tradition. Each year I notice something new and fun that was added. Truly one of the best light shows I have seen and brings the Christmas magic! The people that work there are very kind and when you go in November or at an odd time, you have zero wait! But even if you wait, you go for the experience! Put on your cozy pjs, drink some hot chocolate, and enjoy some quality family time. It’s worth it!
Meaghan H — Google review
Drove up last night at 5pm. It was so beautiful! You put your radio on 102.5 to hear the music that goes with the lights and music. The cost is 35.00 it's so magical the children are gonna love it. Santa is there at the end there are rides for the kids. There is also a helicopter 🚁 ride to check out the lights from the sky. Just make sure you turn your headlights off please!
Sharon C — Google review
The Dancing Lights of Christmas truly amazes my family and I every year. We always enjoy going around Veterans Day because of their generosity, allowing veterans free admission. And every year they exceed the previous. Definitely check them out and make them part of your family's Christmas/holiday season traditions too. You won't be disappointed.

AMAZING!!! Christmas lights in the mountains were on the to do list ... this year.. but in a cave.. WOW WOW WOW!! Totally worth every single dollar spent! Excellent price per car. I never expected to see such an amazing light show in a cave!! Blew our minds!! We will be back.. possibly a yearly trip in the making and it's 5 plus hours away from home!!! Sincere thank you to whoever put this show together you did great!! This is an amazing experience highly highly recommended!!

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE the dancing lights of christmas!!! My little sister is autistic and waits for them to open ALL YEAR long!! We even watch them on youtube throughout the year until they come to town! It is hands down one of our favorite christmas traditions, and I am having a baby any day now and cannot wait to bring my baby to see the lights with his aunt and family!! The staff is nothing short of incredible and we look forward to seeing them every year!! They go above and beyond and we are truly so appreciative and grateful for their impact on our community and our family!

The City of Lebanon takes great pride in its rich history and cherished traditions. At the heart of this appreciation lies the Lebanon Museum and History Center, a place where visitors can immerse themselves in the local heritage. Open on Mondays, this center serves as a gateway to explore the stories and values that have shaped the community over time. It's an essential stop for anyone looking to understand Lebanon's past while honoring its enduring legacy.
Small and hard to find but worth a look! Lots of neat area history here with great displays, models, and art! The 1860 Pilgrims Progress edition was a cool find! The original tn train lines map was interesting too! Glad to check out this free little museum. The parking and directions weren’t very clear. Visitors can park on the right side. The lower entrance is not actually a way in, just an exit. You’ll need to be upstairs in the lobby and sign the guest book and they’ll direct you to the elevator access to the exhibit. Not clearly marked online or on google. Hope that is changed. Swing by Lebanon soon for some local history and a fun letter-sorting interactive setup and original art of the battles nearby. We had fun! Free entrance. Free parking.

Nestled in a charming historic building that once served as a military academy, Sammy B's Restaurant and Catering is the perfect spot for anyone craving Southern and American pub fare. This casual dining gem offers an extensive menu that caters to diverse tastes, featuring everything from Tex-Mex delights to classic pizzas. Whether you're planning a family dinner, celebrating a special occasion, or enjoying date night, the inviting atmosphere at Sammy B's makes it an ideal choice.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sammy B’s, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful evening. The customer service was truly top-notch. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our glasses were always filled and our needs were promptly met. They took the time to explain the menu with enthusiasm and offered great recommendations, showcasing their extensive knowledge of the dishes. It was clear that the staff genuinely cared about our dining experience. Now, let’s talk about the food! Each dish we ordered was a masterpiece. We started with a Caesar salad and a house salad, which both were a perfect balance of flavors with their house-made dressings. For the main course, I opted for the Wild Alaska Sam-un, perfectly cooked and served with a delightful sweet glaze that elevated the dish to new heights. My dining companion chose the Augusta Chicken, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of rich flavor. Dessert was the grand finale. We shared the scrumptious homemade peach cobbler, paired with homemade vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Overall, Sammy B’s exceeded our expectations with its excellent customer service and amazing food. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return. If you're looking for a place that combines a warm atmosphere with culinary delights, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit!

Driving up, you will think to yourself, "Am I in the correct place, or did this map get confused again?" After a short wait, we got a table, and the experience started, and it did not disappoint. Chloe was supper nice and prompt, could not asked for better service. The fact that they have a salad bar makes it even better.
Clarence M — Google review
Someone local recommended this place to us, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to their hype. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a salad bar. It was fresh even though it wasn't a large salad bar. The salad dressings were also housemade and very good. I ordered the Beef Stoganoff and my mom ordered the Chicken on the Row. When the food came to the table, it looked delicious. Looks can be so deceiving. As soon as I started trying to cut the beef with a case knife, I knew there were issues. It was supposed to be BEEF TENDERLOIN. You should never have trouble cutting beef tenderloin with a case knife. The meat was basically inedible. After I salted the rest of the dish twice, the pasta was good. But I didn't pay $20 for a bowl of pasta. The waitress did offer to ask if they would take it off of the bill, but I don't go places to do that. My mom's dish was supposed to be ricotta stuffed shells with spinach artichoke dip. The chicken breast was with peppers, onions and mushrooms on top. When it came out, it was more like a chicken cutlet, and it was very overcooked. The shells were good, but the two components didn't seem to go together. We got there at about 3pm. Two ladies came in and were seated beside us about 20-30 minutes after us. One of them ordered the same dish as my mom did. It looked completely different. The chicken breast was actually a breast, and looked like it should! My mom's was probably held over from lunch service and it showed. We weren't impressed and we won't be back. Our waitress was sweet and did a good job.
Ginger M — Google review
This is a review based on three visits. We were a little on the fence after visit one, but a coupon deal lured us back for visit two, and visit three was the best one yet. Great atmosphere and decor. Not a fan of the closed-in patio, but the main room was highly enjoyable. Very good food, from the fish to sandwiches to burgers to steaks, we took out of town guests on visit 3, and they loved it. We will definitely go back!
Nancy D — Google review
Again another fantastic place that I went to that I cannot find anything wrong with it. The food was properly prepared and was delicious the price was very reasonable the staff including the bartender and the owner were so nice to make sure that my food was prepared perfectly and hot and ready. They have a famous bartender there that they tell me that is 83 years old and still kicking on strong serving you great drinks Wednesday Thursday and Friday which I plan on going back to see this person and I suggest that you give this place a try cuz you won't be disappointed. I ordered the pork loin chops and chicken on a roll and they all were fantastic. To end the night I ordered the fudge sundae and it was cool and refreshing. If you don't like this place tell me about it and I'll pay your bill cuz that's how much I believe in this place.
Derrick E — Google review
Hands down the best food and dining atmosphere in Lebanon. Will be returning soon. The staff is so kind. Every item we tried was amazing.
Cole B — Google review
Visited Sammy B's for the first time with my wife for our 36th Wedding anniversary. We both had the smoked prime rib, baked potato and salad bar. This is a very cool venue. It is in a residence of the old military school.
Tim M — Google review
We ordered two shrimp and chip dinners at $19 each for carryout. When my husband brought the dinners home I was shocked to find only 6 shrimp in each box. When we have ordered this in the past, as recently as 60 days ago, there were 8-10 shrimp. If the quantity or price changed that should have been noted when the order was placed. If it had been detailed, we would have ordered another meal as two people were splitting one of the dinners. I fully realize restaurants are under extreme financial pressure to cut costs. But when you don't offer value for the price, the likelihood of the customer returning is slim to none. I have not been a huge fan of Sammy B's since they cut their menu to the bone. Seems Aubrey's, new to town with generous portions and loads of traffic, is putting the hurt on Sammy B's.

Barbecue restaurant
New Moon BBQ is a classic smokehouse with a charming rural ambiance, serving up delectable ribs, brisket, and catfish. It's renowned as the top BBQ spot in and around Nashville, offering an array of mouthwatering dishes that have left patrons impressed. The menu features irresistible smoked wings, flavorful brisket, and an Elvis taco that's simply amazing.
Our visit was random and unplanned! We stopped to get gas, and Googled "food near me" and this place popped up. Highly rated, and we love barbecue, so we decided to try it. I had never heard of smoked bologna, so I tried it. It was great, the buttered grilled bun really added to the flavor. Also had smoked wings, and husband had pork BBQ. Both very good. Waitress was sweet and friendly. Lucky pit stop!
Lee C — Google review
We had the brisket, pulled pork sandwich, with beans and coleslaw. The brisket wasn’t sliced or pulled, it was like a large chunk of brisket. The pulled pork didn’t have much flavor and a lot of it wasn’t pulled (there were big chunks). The beans and coleslaw were okay. The sweet sauce was really runny, not much flavor. The hot sauce had a nice kick and flavor, but should be hotter. The hoecake was good. Definitely wouldn’t go back. There are too many good BBQ places nearby.
Cathy — Google review
We stopped here for a quick bite while traveling between Sevierville and Nashville. It wasn't too far off of the highway and the food was great And the service was very friendly. The pulled pork barbeque sandwich was great. My wife has the smoked bologna sandwich which had a large amount of meat and was really good also.
Chris ( — Google review
My friend and I went the other day around 1 and the place was dead. (That should of been our first sign) we sat ourselves and immediately noticed how dirty the place was. Our table looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day, and when I asked the waitress if she could wipe it off she just scoffed and went to retrieve a towel. The food was cold all except the baked beans which had been obviously nuked to high heaven. Brisket, chicken, and sausage was cold and dry. Needless to say I won't be returning.
Tom B — Google review
Stopped in on tge way back from a tractor grab in middle Tennessee. Always high hopes for good BBQ, ehhh. Got the 3 meat plate, double brisket (local favorite), pulled pork, Mac n cheese and broccoli casserole. Brisket was ok, lots of fat and reminded me off pot roast, not so much smoked brisket. The pulled pork lacked flavor as well and a bit dry, not sure about it. Mac n cheese was solid, best of the rest. Broccoli casserole?... or broccoli and rice-yes. Not impressed with the lack off cheese and creaminess. Good water, flavorless and ice cold. It was worth a try...
Dave B — Google review
Stopped in for a bite and left feeling... fine. The meat was cooked well enough. Not dry, not mind-blowing, just okay. I really dislike the new owners' version of broccoli cheese casserole. The garlic was so strong i had an after taste for hours. Wish they could bring back the old owner's recipie. Service is always A+ Will I go back? Sure. It’s convenient and dependable. But if you're chasing that unforgettable, smoky flavor that makes you want to cancel dinner plans for the next week just to come back, this isn't quite it.
Old W — Google review
Fantastic BBQ, great portions, and wonderful sides. But, unexpectedly the very best buffalo wings I've ever had. Super tasty and literally fall of the bone tender. Just amazing.
Mechanic_X — Google review
This place has really gone downhill. We have eaten here many times, but have not been in over a year, so we thought we would drive out of our way and order it to go for a big group. The lady taking my order acted like she did not want to be there. There was only 1 other couple in the restaurant, so it was not busy. The brisket was bland, no smoke flavor, big chunks, it tasted more like a roast. The pork was ok. The ribs were dry and didn't have much meat on them. The chicken was very dry, but had ok flavor. After spending $130, the meat came out packed into 2 small containers with the cornbread smashed on top. The cashier started to balk at me when I asked for more BBQ sauce, but she gave me more. Also, buns are not included. I had to go back in and pay $8 more to get them. We'll stick with some of the other spots that are consistently good.
