Beaches
Rosie's Dog Beach is a 4-acre off-leash beach in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, where dogs can run and play freely. This dog-friendly paradise is part of the pet-centric offerings in Long Beach, which includes pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, parks, and trails for on-leash walks. Established nearly two decades ago by Justin Rudd, founder of Haute Dogs, this non-fenced beach was officially named after Rosie the Bulldog in 2010.
Love coming to this beach! My dog loves the sand. People seem friendly and we haven’t come across any aggressive dogs. Lots of space for a dog to run and play. They also have a place you can clean your dog off after! The dog paw lifeguard station is super cute!!

Not a bad place, paid parking but it's super close to the bar and dog beach. The food wasn't bad, the plating was beautiful. Wish the french toast were fluffy they seemed a Lil too healthy 😅. The salmon burger looked good. We went for breakfast no one was really there which is fine for us. Our dog loved it smelled everywhere had her ice cream snack with a smile. The owner super friendly.
Carla G — Google review
1 if not the best dog beach for all types of owners. Extremely large beach that has so many volleyball courts and a place you and all your loved ones can enjoy. I definitely highly recommend this place to any dog lovers owners. Update: This location has dozens of volleyball court and the parking lot is sooooo huge you can literally park anywhere. If someone's saying that you have to circle to find parking then that's just a lie, the parking can fit nearly hundreds of cars. And when we go, we dont see any poop unless you may have come across a bad area to whom I can't defend. But all in all the beach is clean everytime we went. There maybe other areas I haven't been, but we usually stay near the convenience store/drink area. So again all in all really good and clean for the most part.

Cool place to take your dog to and let them run around. Be sure to pick up after your own pet. There are some dogs that don't like to be approached and having other dogs in your faces so be mindful. There's also a cafe on the beach for you and your doggo.
D L — Google review
Rosie’s Dog Beach is a wonderful time. Lots of easy parking. People with dogs are especially friendly and there are lots and lots of wet and sandy dogs having a joyous time frolicking in the waves and chasing each other. When it’s hot in LA it is deliciously cooler by the sea. Highly recommend!
Clea B — Google review
Nice beach area for the dogs. I kept my dog on a leash because I like to keep him close and he doesn't like dogs who approach too aggressively. Some owners lose track of their dogs, by allowing them to roam all over the beach. That's fine, I just would like an assist if my dog isn't "feeling" your dog. It is close to a bike trail, so if your pup is more interested in chasing than playing in the water, you might have an issue. Lots of parking in a paid lot or on the street.
Dianna L — Google review
Love to take my 2 pups to Rosie's dog beach. It is the one place I feel comfortable letting my cattle dog loose to run free. The designated area is not very long but that's okay, just having water and sand is good enough. Length about 5 football fields give or take. Bruxie is near by if your looking for a good bite to eat and dog friendly. Also have a little snack shack on Rosie's beach offering snacks for pups and food for humans too, is a bit pricey though. Parking is easy. I recommend downloading parking app Passport, alot easier than using machine to pay. Video was a pug meet up on beach.
Scott G — Google review
Enjoyable, definitely a good place to take your dog for some R&R. The beach is kind of small, but it’s big enough to let your dog run around off leash. It’s clean which I really like and are dog bags available to pick up after your dog. It required to leave your dog on a leash and until you get to the dog zone. Restrooms nearby and parking is $.50 per 15 minutes ($2 per hour).

Museums
The Long Beach Museum of Art is located on a bluff-top site and features galleries showcasing works by Southern California artists. The museum's permanent collection includes over 3,200 American and European art pieces displayed in rotating exhibitions within the Elizabeth Milbank Anderson house, a stunning California bungalow from 1911. Additionally, the adjacent Pavilion hosts visiting and special exhibitions featuring contemporary artists.
The Long Beach Museum of Art is such a hidden gem for weddings. The ceremony overlooking the ocean is breathtaking, and the gardens and terraces create a natural flow for guests to enjoy the celebration. Inside, the gallery spaces bring an unexpected creative touch—I loved seeing a couple step away for portraits framed by vibrant artwork, which felt like a blend of fine art and personal storytelling. From a photography standpoint, the variety of backdrops is unmatched: ocean views, clean modern interiors, and intimate evening lighting strung across the courtyard. It allowed me to capture an entire wedding day with so much diversity in the visuals, all without ever leaving the property. If you’re looking for a venue that feels both elevated and personal, the LBMA really delivers. It’s easily one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding.
Clubhouse C — Google review
Gorgeous views and a wonderful restaurant on the property. We were a little underwhelmed by this museum. If we didn’t receive half off from eating at the Claire’s restaurant we would have been disappointed. It was cool to see so much of Keith Haring’s work up close.
Joss — Google review
I attended the "After Dark" event for The Art of Food exhibit and was very underwhelmed. The exhibit itself was quite boring. I didn’t realize it would take such a modern and minimalist approach, especially since the advertisements featured a colorful, lush painting on the cover art. Most of the pieces were modern works—like those by Warhol and Lichtenstein—which I don’t particularly care for. The "After Dark" party was disappointing. The staff outnumbered the guests, and for a $20 ticket, I expected at least a complimentary wine pour. At 9:50 I was asked to leave because I was the only person left... 10 minutes before closing time. Overall, I found the experience lacking and probably won’t attend special events here again.
Emily D — Google review
A really nice art museum. The Keith Haring exhibit was really cool with a handful of items and work I’ve never seen before. The staff were super nice to chat with and friendly. The museum has an upper patio that overlooks the ocean as well!
Sage B — Google review
It's one of the best spots in Long Beach. The food and cocktails are all really good. Highly recommend.

Loved it! Didn’t get any pictures that do the work justice. I’m a big supporter of museums and libraries. I can’t wait to come back to LBMA!!
Kae — Google review
Very nice small museum with a beautiful view of the ocean. Loved seeing Keith Harings artworks. On the basement floor they show local school children's art which I think is pretty nice. Half price on Fridays!
Meow M — Google review
Nice little museum with the view of the ocean. There are 3 floors in this museum, they have exhibits of artists from local area. Wonderful installation outside, look beautiful day and night time. I have the honor to volunteer for the installation. Thanks LBMA for having me. Parking is free and it’s outside of the museum. So make sure to check the google map before you come. There is a little restaurant for you to enjoy the ocean breeze and beautiful view as well.

Seafood restaurant

Located on the water in a charming setting, Walt's Wharf offers an impressive wine list and a wide range of seafood dishes. The atmosphere is casual and rustic, making it a great place to enjoy a romantic date. The service is always outstanding, and the staff are particularly friendly and accommodating to those with special dietary requirements.
Had lunch at the reopened Walt's Wharf. Beautifully refurbished. Had an easy time getting a table at lunch on a Friday. The staff is so nice. Our waitress, Katie was excellent. We had the albacore melt and the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich. Both were very good. The Mahi Mahi was fresh. I wanted to try the chowder to see if it was the same. I will go back because my meal was filling.

After having been closed following a heartbreaking fire that destroyed this longtime cornerstone restaurant on Main St. in Seal Beach (since back when I was a kid, more than 50 years ago!), it was SO nice to see it back up and running again, while visiting my old hometown area. And the service and food did NOT disappoint... just as good as it always was. Friendly wait staff, excellent, quality, tasty food, and a really cool "open" kitchen design that allows you to walk right up and peer in the glass kitchen walls to see what's goin' on in there. Walt's clam chowder is an institution. Medium thick, amazing clam flavor, and the clams - HUGE, fresh, chewy clams, and LOTS of 'em! So good, especially when paired with the complimentary mini sourdough rolls! The shrimp/scallops (bay, smaller type, but still very tasty) was excellent, with a very rich, very garlicky parmesan cream sauce. SO very good, served piping hot and full of flavor! (Ok, full disclosure, the portions are HUGE... I "might" have forgotten to take a pic before I dug in because it looked SO good... so please imagine a portion about 20% MORE than the large amount of pasta already pictured here ;) . Prices are not by any means "value" or cheap here, but the food quality is worth it! Highly recommend supporting this Seal Beach institution again, now that they're back in full swing for about the past month. Welcome back Walt's!!

One of the things that I cannot overestimate is how good the service was. I ordered a whiskey that the bartender did not know wasn't on the menu twice lol however they did compensate by giving me Their highest top shelf whiskey at a regular price it was a very nice gesture. I got the oysters on a 1/2 shell, they were very fresh and very tasty.. The halibut was very good a very nice portion next time I return I am definitely going to have to get the blackened catfish

The newly restored & beautifully remodeled Walt's Wharf reopened in Seal Beach this week! Our waitress, Jennifer, was outstanding! She was friendly, and in tune with every need we had. Compliments to the chef for the famous grilled artichoke a & delicious lunch. Thank you to the Babcock family for your efforts and commitment to Walt's Wharf and this community.

It's been over a decade since my last visit and I knew that I would one day be back. A long history of excellent seafood and wine makes this restaurant a keeper. It was so clean it sparkles! Turns out, it's been closed for 18 months due to a fire so it's all new but with the same vibe as before. The chowder is fantastic as I remembered. The Mahi Mahi sandwich outstanding as well as the fish and chips. We stopped on our way home to San Diego from LA. I want to go back for dinner for a real treat.
Steve W — Google review
Took me a few weeks to write this since my family and I absolutely LOVED Walt's Wharf. Grew up in the bar area going there every Friday night for 'Peel & eat shrimp' night and, of course, the artichoke. It was our favorite place and my siblings and I were devastated when it closed and then the more recent fire. When we saw it reopened it was an immediate group text to get down there for a family dinner to create those memories with our kids. Renovation looks fantastic, but I cannot begin to explain the utter disappointment at how INCREDIBLY rude the staff were. The hostess went as far as to tell us to "leave our kids home next time" so that we could be sat in the bar. The service was poor - it took 15+ minutes and several reminders to get the beer that was ordered only to find out the keg was out - our order came out wrong, and the entire experience was very disappointing. Our poor experience was then shared with the Manager on duty who brushed it off without a care. Mind you, this was @ 3:30/4 pm and not during the dinner rush. Giving an extra star because I cherish my childhood memories, but sad for my kid(s) and nephews who won't have the Friday night Walt's experience that my siblings and I had. Local friends even warned us of their similar negative experiences. Hopefully, things get better.

Great place to take your date for dinner and or go for lunch and just have good food. This place just reopened in 09/2025. Their menu got a bit smaller. The food is good but used to be better. I do have to say that their pot of class is pretty darn tasty. Yhe fish and chips is a must. The fish seemed very fresh and was well seasoned. The steak was okay (expected more UMPH since they actually have an open flame grill) and their cooks need to do a better job on getting the right steak temperature. This place has a variety of wine and full bar to get any drink that you want. The bar scene is great. The atmosphere is nice on both floors. I do wish that they would bring back their grilled banana split... Parking is tiny and street parking can get busy. Staff is friendly. Prices are high for what you get. The restaurant is housed in downtown seal beach which gives you an opportunity to walk, shop and hit the beach 2 blocks away.
CARLOS M — Google review
It was nice to see Walt's Wharf open for business again. We enjoyed some great food (Trout Amandine, Shrimp Scampi, Ono and Scallops). The cocktails were nicely crafted (watermelon margaritas, jalapeño margaritas, Moscow mules and old fashions). Service was timely, even though busy and our server was pleasant and helpful with suggestions. Welcome back Walt's Wharf! Give them a visit - I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Nature & Parks
Nestled within the California State University campus in Long Beach, the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is a serene and meticulously maintained 1.3-acre garden. Inspired by Tokyo's Imperial Gardens, it boasts meandering pathways, ponds teeming with colorful koi fish, wooden bridges, and vibrant floral arrangements. Visitors can relax on benches while taking in the tranquil atmosphere or wander through the garden's peaceful surroundings.
Wonderful, beautiful place to go. It's free, but you can make a donation. It's very tranquil and peaceful with the music and the birds chirping. You could walk around, and it would only take 30 minutes. But it is so pretty you have to sit and take in the views.

I love visiting this Japanese garden. It's so tranquil and serene and I get to visit my alma mater. Be sure to make reservations. There is a parking lot just across of the garden. Parking will depend on the amount of time to choose.
Melody T — Google review
This Japanese garden was a beauty space full of nature, color, and tranquility. It was peaceful the entire time we were here. Quiet to moderate conversations amongst guest, no obnoxious screaming or loud running, and maintenance were well kept. We got the ability to feed the koi fish and so there are many locations including bridges and small delta to the pond where you can hand feed the koi if you preferred. I was so excited to come as it was for my bday and I truly love koi fish. Outside the garden there are Japanese lanterns, restrooms, information center, and a collection of bonsai trees. We also had the ability to take home our own origami. I loved the papers they had.
Missnija — Google review
A great, cute little garden. It's very popular, so reservations are required. You can even feed the fish if you want (but make sure you pick the feeding option when making reservations)

Its a very small Garden but well kept and definitely worth the visit. Admission is free but you have to reserve a time on line. They do great at keeping crowds small. Lots of photo spots.

This is such a cute little Japanese Garden located inside the Long Beach College. Easy to get there. I recommend you park across the entrance which is lot 4. You do need to pay as they do have the parking security check. It's $6 per hour. You will need make reservations on their website and create an account which totally free as well to go in. They do verify if you have reservations. Its well maintained. It took us about 30 minutes to see all of it but the remaining of the time we were admiring the garden, cute Koi fish and you can also feed them. You will need reservations to feed the Koi. Very peaceful and their staff is very polite. Definitely coming back.

Beautiful and well maintained. An hour is enough time to walk through and enjoy the garden. Allow more time if you like to sit and appreciate the environment.

Mexican restaurant
Avila's El Ranchito in Seal Beach is a beloved family-owned Mexican restaurant that has been serving the community since 1966. The casual setting makes it perfect for families and offers a variety of homestyle Mexican dishes and drinks for both lunch and dinner. Guests can enjoy classic dishes like chingolingas, enchiladas, flautas, and tacos paired with an extensive selection of margaritas, cocktails, beer, and wine.
I love this location. The restaurant is beautiful. The food is delicious. I'm a huge fan of albondigas soup. It was perfect. They didn't skimp on the meatballs. I love the chips and salsa. Everyone at my table was really happy with their food and drinks. My only suggestion is that the servers could be a tiny bit more friendly. I know that it's very busy and so they want to get people out but when you go out to eat you also want to enjoy your time and not feel like you're so rushed to leave. I still highly recommend it.

Love. Attentive service with our large group, great filling fish and carnitas and asada tacos. Great prices for happy hour. Fun old town location.
Kyla J — Google review
I had been wanting to try this place. Went for the first time, Sunday afternoon, there were many empty tables so I couldn't really fall on "well, they were busy" as reason for the poor service. Also the food wasn't good, even accounting for the good location and what their exorbitant operating costs must be. Not here to post angrily, just really a mediocre at best experience for the price. I ordered a margarita and it came out after my entree arrived and was wrong, even after the server and I confirmed what margaritas were blended and which weren't. He tried to get me to keep it and I had to refuse three times. Then he asked if I wanted my drink as I'd ordered but I had already gotten my food (that was also mediocre) and just wanted to leave. I ended up just asking for a coke which came late and was a glass full of ice with little soda. The server knew he messed up so didn't come check if I needed anything for a long time so I only had a little soda after the drink mistake and was still charged for the soda. I ordered the chili Verde. The plate was $23 and the chili Verde had okay but pretty salty flavor. The texture and appearance was 4/10. I wouldn't have ever again. Rice was not good. Beans were fine. I wouldn't go here ever again.
Lauren — Google review
The food was very delicious. The meat was very soft, perfectly cooked. The shrimp were the bomb, big and lots of flavor. Two delicious plates a water and a coke for less than $55 including chips and salsa.
Erika M — Google review
Prices are good, location is okay, people are nice and accommodating. Parked in a nearby public parking (3$), not too busy around 5pm. The food arrived straight away, it was good. The food is a little on the bland side, there’s no overwhelming taste and there weren’t any sauces on the table. I had to ask for some hot sauce to add more flavor to give it some heat. This isn’t typical of me to ask for extra hot sauce! I think I would pass on it moving forward.
Relina S — Google review
Yummy traditional Mexican food at Avila's El Ranchito on Seal Beach's Main Street! The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty and bought us some time to look over the menu! I ordered the fresh guacamole and chips to start and then chicken fajitas for the entree! Both were so good I would come back anytime! The beach and good Mexican food go hand in hand!! Def worth stopping in!
DavidCookLosAngeles ( — Google review
We stopped in here to give this place a try, as we eat a lot of mexican food places. The place is small and quaint. However, clean and welcoming. After being seated, we were given chips and salsa right away. Thankfully because wasn't waited on til our chips and salsa were almost gone. Salsa had a great flavor with just the right amount of spice. The chips were freshly made and crispy. I got the Azteca burrito with Chile verde. The burrito had great flavor great size, would order again. It came with sour cream and guacamole, on the side topped with a green sauce and cheese. My husband got the chile Colorado. He would not recommend this plate. Not a great flavor was more like a beef mole. The smoky paloma was the worst tasting paloma, we have ever had. The chili mango margarita add a great flavor however, mostly ice and mixer was no alcohol to be found in both drinks would not recommend buying especially at $12 & $13. Overall tried wouldn't come back.

What a fantastic quaint Mexican restaurant. We were greeted and seated immediately. The staff is warm, caring and friendly. I had the Cadillac margarita and a chimichanga that was amazing. The pricing is more then fair ND I cannot recommend enough this wonderful place to stop for a pleasant meal.

320 Main is an upscale establishment that offers refined steak and seafood dishes, along with a variety of cocktails, in a stylish setting. The food is highly enjoyable, featuring delectable options such as bread with creamy butter, brussel sprouts for starters, wedge salad, filet mignon, New York steak, and roasted rib stroganoff for dinner.
Nice patio and allow us to bring our dog to stay with us in the patio. Food was great and service is attentive. We love this place. They also have live music as an added bonus.

Buffalo wings appetizers r excellent. Creamy homemade buffalo sauce on 3 large boneless wings. Atmosphere is solid - like a nice pub but actually good food. Got the Prime Rib Sandwich which was EXCELLENT. Meat still medium rare, Au Jus good but not great, however all around sandwich was killer for ~$20.

Had an epic meal here on a Friday night. Started with the shrimp cocktail. Giant shrimp and really good cocktail sauce with a really nice horseradish kick to it. Friday night is prime rib night and if you’re coming for the prime rib, make sure you’re hungry- it’s a big one! Really tasty and tender. Finished the night with the Butter Cake - delicious! The ambiance and vibe are great and the service is excellent. Highly recommended.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant ever!!! MY FAMILY AND I COULD ONLY EAT HALF OF OUR FOOD AND OUR STOMACHS ARE BURNING. SEEN PEOPLE POST ABOUT GETTING ECOLI!!! BE CAREFUL!! My family and I waited an hour and then some to have our food come to us and it was oily and made us all sick to our stomachs. Also had very snide comments and rude host but kind waitress. Such a disappointment and felt very discriminated against. The owner even came up to us after she noticed how long we were waiting and didn't do anything to make it feel more welcoming or comfortable either. Overall it was just very upsetting and uncomfortable. It felt like we went to a restraunt to be given poor service and it made us feel small. Left my family and I just speechless and it was very disappointing. I am mindful of people having off days but this was awful, I would say as a note treat your waiters and overall staff to be more attentive to and to show more kindness and be more welcoming. We only got checked on twice. It took 30 mins for our drink to come in and an hour and a half for our food. Please be careful with this place

Nice gastropub vibe. We came here for brunch. They take reservations but it was not busy when we arrived. Cocktails are amazing. They do have bottomless mimosas too. Food was really good. Nice presentation and the staff was very friendly and checked on us often.

Very tasty food. We had the bread with creama butter & brussel sprouts for starters. Wedge salad. Filet Mignon, New York steak, Roasted Rib Stroganoff for dinner. And warm butter cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The salad is definitely big enough to share. Service was a little slow, but I don't believe they were short staffed. If you're sitting up front by the bar, it can be a bit noisy. Music was also too loud to carry on a conversation. Probably not a problem further back or outside. Overall - we did enjoy it and will return.

Mexican restaurant
Lola's Mexican Cuisine- 4th Street is a vibrant and festive restaurant that offers delicious, home-cooked Mexican dishes such as tacos and flautas, along with refreshing sangria and beer. The restaurant has a rich history, with matriarch Lola introducing Long Beach to birria long before it gained popularity. Owner and chef Luis Navarro takes pride in the restaurant's growth while preserving treasured family recipes like their famous green salsa.
Came here after enjoying Long Beach Pride, and it was a great random pick!! This place is not too big or small, just right. It has a mellow vibe and great service! The food was very fresh, and flavorful! Also great and fresh margaritas! I recommend the spicy watermelon margarita!!!

We live pretty close to Lola's and have been wanting to try it, so Saturday morning, we rolled up with no wait, smiling faces, with a flavorful secret waiting to be shared. The food was fresh and fragrant, perfectly wrapped around spice for the wholesome mexican bite. The salsa was very memorable. It had soul-bright, smokey, and made with love. Our server had the best dimples and smile that was intoxicating, and she didn't just serve the food. She served us with comfort and familiarity. Can't wait to try more.

Was in town last month and didn't have time to try them out, but I'm back and we went in for lunch. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes. I had the chile verde burrito and it really hit the spot. Their moles are also really good. Great spot to come back to.

I loved this place. We went for brunch and were able to make reservations faily easy, no wait. We sat promptly and offered indoor or outdoor seating. Our server Paola was very friendly and provided great service. Our food came out faster than I would have thought. It was all so so good! I had their Mexican French Toast, and my friend had the Mexican Eggs Benedict, both delicious. And the cold brew with Horchata? amazing, too. I will definitely be back.

Wow!! I’m so blown away. We came here in a whim since we were in the area and wanted chips and salsa. We sat on the patio and it was absolutely stunning weather. We ordered from the happy hour menu which was delicious and the chips and salsa were so fresh and just well done. They serve two salsas which bring incredible balance to the experience. A creamy avocado salsa that the locals “crack salsa” and a more acidic and bright roasted salsa. The chips are airy and warm. The Birria Queso Fondido is incredible. Shoutout to May, our server. Super friendly, attentive, and just so sweet. Cannot recommend enough!!

Food was so good! We sat in the outdoor patio and it was dog friendly. Get the carnitas plate and spicy margarita you won’t regret it :)

$227 for 6 people! The food is really good 🤤. Parking is only street parking so it's kinda hard to find a spot. All the employees were really welcoming helpful and nice. No attitude and they kept checking on us. We got helped and seated right away. It gets busy but we didn't wait too long for our food. My kids had the queso birria tacos and they really enjoyed them. My mother tried the Chile Verde Oaxaca style. My brother had the birria plate. He really liked it a lot. My dad had the birria enchiladas. I told him it stated this place was authentic to his town Guadalajara Jalisco so he was disappointed when he found out the birria was a mixture of pork and veal. Not goat meat. I had some delicious chicken tacos. I tried their pineapple tamarind margarita and it was good! will definitely return. Restrooms are available.

Lovely vegan options, clearly labeled! <3 I got the vegan enchiladas and they were so filling and tasty. The side of black beans and rice held up to my scrutiny, lol, very yummy. And lovely covered outdoor seating, too. Lola's does use imitation meats instead of, say, relying solely on something like black beans for protein — which I personally am fine with, but I know some do not prefer imitation meats.

Uncle Fung Long Beach

Indonesian restaurant
Uncle Fung Long Beach is a vibrant culinary gem that showcases the rich flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine, particularly through its signature dish, the Peranakan laksa. While other locations have closed due to pandemic challenges, this branch remains a lively spot just near Seal Beach. Guests rave about the Borneo Rice Plate, which features fragrant coconut rice paired with a spicy curry sauce and an array of proteins like chicken and beef. The portions are generous, making it a satisfying feast for any appetite.
Very casual spot serving delicious Indonesian/singaporean/malaysian food! Came in around Saturday at 1ish and it was not too crowded, just a few families here and there. We were able to seat and order quickly. My family has been coming here for years for their laksa and it was one of the few places that did it many years ago and still now! The noodles felt a little short(?), but the curry broth was spicy, umami and packed a punch! Chicken satay was perfectly grilled and was topped with a peanut sauce and fried shallots which made for a sweet, smoky and salty bite. So good. Lastly we tried the kwehtiau kuah for the first time. Don’t let the clear broth fool you—this soup was comforting and umami and so deep in flavor. Overall a delicious, delicious meal. Parking is easy—in a big mall center.

Food tasted okay. I love that the food is not fatty or oily. Food was fresh, except the water. It tasted like unfiltered sink water. The food did not look like the pictures on the menu, so we were confused if we got the correct order. The cashier said it was the correct order, so we ate our food. Nice quiet vibe.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (They deserve more than 5 stars!) I tried the Singapore Laksa at Uncle Fung, and WOW — when you see a picture of food that looks delicious, this actually tastes even better than it looks! Every bite was bursting with flavor — rich, comforting, and just like home-cooked goodness. The restaurant is super clean, and you can really tell they care about quality and presentation. On top of that, Rex and Rian were incredibly friendly and professional — they made the whole experience even better with their warm and welcoming energy. This was my first time, but definitely not my last! I can't wait to go back and explore more dishes on the menu. Highly recommend!

Went here for the first time and I loved it! Thr food was extremely flavorful and delicious. The HIGHLY recommend the chicken skewers and the Roti! The restaurant isnt too big but we went during lunch time on a Saturday and we got a table right away. The shopping center's parking lot is a bit tight but manageable.

Food, service, and ambiance was 5/5. We ordered 3 dishes, and everything came in less than 15 minutes! I've been to their Buena Park location, and the food was just as great / consistent. On top of that, the waiters were very patient and friendly. They answered our questions, accommodated special requests, and had a little side chat! Ambiance was also modern and clean. It was a great dining experience overall! I would highly recommend this location for those who are interested in trying Southeast Asian food. The staffs are very accommodating and friendly. I can tell that they know about their products well and are passionate about introducing it to others. Keep up the good work!

This spot is hidden in plain sight. Great kha soi. Noodles that hold the soup. Solid portioning. Quick service. Bowls always look full. I've been here several times since 2017 and they've never changed

⭐☆☆☆☆ I heard about Uncle Fung from a friend and was excited to give it a try. I even made a special trip just to check out the food — but boy, was I disappointed. It was nothing like the food I’ve had in Indonesia. The chicken satay was basically skewered chicken marinated with maybe lemongrass and some kind of spice — nothing close to what satay is supposed to taste like. The “peanut sauce” didn’t even taste like peanuts, and what I was served was nothing like any satay gravy I’ve ever had. Such a letdown. As for the other dishes, I don’t even want to describe them. All I can say is that there was no authenticity in the flavors, and this isn’t a place I’d want to try again. That said, I’m only sharing my own experience — others may feel differently, but I was hoping for something more authentic at Uncle Fung’s.

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Spaghettini. Not quite as popular as Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

This charming venue specializes in Northern Italian cuisine, offering an elegant atmosphere where guests can savor exquisite dishes for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch. The restaurant also features three-course specials and a happy hour that pairs perfectly with its extensive wine selection from local vineyards to international favorites.
Our first time here! We came for dinner and to catch the Linda Ronstadt Tribute Show. The restaurant was awesome! Service and food were outstanding! Great selection of Italian food. Very clean and great atmosphere. It was a perfect cozy venue for the show.

Highly recommend! For years, we have been going to a restaurant for their Chilean Sea-bass this weekend I tried it at this restaurant and this one is now the #1. Everything is delicious. Aside from being a beautiful restaurant and they’re delicious food. All the staff are really nice and welcoming. Will definitely go back.

I stopped into Spaghettini on a random Wednesday afternoon and was completely blown away. I sat in the bar area near the musical stage, which had a great vibe, and the bartender who served me was top-notch friendly, attentive, and on the ball the entire time. Truly one of the best servers I’ve had in a long time. The food? Absolutely fantastic. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, and it was hands-down one of the best versions of the dish I’ve ever had. Huge portion too I eat a lot, and I could barely finish it. The pasta was served piping hot, perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of sauce, and finished with fresh-shaved parmesan right at the table. I also ordered the garden salad, which was super fresh and flavorful, topped with cracked pepper and cheese. Every bite was excellent. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the service was friendly and welcoming across the board. The place was buzzing even at lunchtime, which says a lot. It’s clear this restaurant has earned its reputation and it absolutely lives up to it. Highly recommend. I can’t wait to go back and try more off the menu!

Nestled in the bustling Main St, The Crema Cafe offers a charming European-inspired dining experience. This cozy cafe is known for its delectable breakfast and lunch options, as well as its top-notch espresso. Whether you're craving classic brunch dishes like omelets and pancakes or sweet and savory crepes, this cafe has something for everyone. Guests can enjoy their meals indoors or opt for a relaxing outdoor dining experience on the dog-friendly patio.
Great atmosphere with the hustle and bustle of this cafe. We waited 25 minutes during Sunday brunch hours and ate at the patio. It was nice to have the next door bakery and coffee to hold us over. The spot for cyclists to fuel, trust in the nice bikes outside of the shop. I loved the variety of the menu and drinks here. We enjoyed the breakfast burrito (wish it came with a side!), which came out quickly and was hot. Staff is attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!

This spot was pretty good! We tried the breakfast sandwich (excellent), banana fosters crape (pretty good but a bit pricey for only getting 1), Arnold Palmer (great!), and a cheese and peach danish (good but probably would have been better earlier in the day. Got their around 2 and were told we had to order take out even though we just stilll ate at one of the tables inside and were finished before they actually started clearing tables at 3pm so that was interesting🤷🏼‍♂️. Overall I’d come back a bit earlier in the day and eat here again!

Super friendly staff and very calm vibes! Not so rowdy inside and just enough space between tables! The patio can be a bit chilly (it's all in shade) so I chose to sit indoors. [FOOD:] Came out very hot, perfectly cooked and scrambled! The potatoes were a bit oily but the sourdough helped even everything out. The French Toast was also really warm and they weren't too bland nor too sweet. A solid good plate of french toast! [SERVICE:] Very quick and surprised how fast my food came out! Once you hear Mexican music from the back, you already know it's gonna be good. Lol The staff was also very friendly and patient with answering my questions and helping me find the restroom. Overall, will definitely come back! I had a great experience and my tummy is incredibly satisfied!

When I’m visiting my daughter in the Pasadena area, we love to have brunch with my brother and sister-in- law who live in San Clemente. We found Crema Cafe last year as our “meeting spot” and went back again last Sunday. Great location and service. We love the menu too as we all enjoy variety. My sister-in-law is vegan and loves the selection. We always have a reservation and they never rush us even though they are packed. We also respect their need to “turn the table”. We loved walking to the pier too! Beautiful spot!

Great place for a nice breakfast/ brunch. A local friend brought us here and we really liked it. She recommended to get here by 8 am to make sure we didn’t have to wait. It was worth waking up early on a Sunday! The coffee is delicious and they have free refills if you are eating here. The chicken pesto crepe was delicious 🤤 and it came with oven roasted potatoes. I also tried the roasted veggies Benedict and it was good, but the crepe was better! They also have nice pastries. My favorite was the raspberry pop tart, wow! We sat outside and really enjoyed our breakfast. I would come back and prices seems to be reasonable for the quality.
Jimena R — Google review
The service was great very attentive! The coffee we got was super sugary but they remade it for us. The Parisian Benedict didn’t taste as great as I hoped - it was nice to try something different but the whole thing is quite mushy in texture. The wait was pretty long but they have a good online waiting system through yelp, so we could walk around while we waited to be called for our table.

Located in Seal Beach, CA, The Abbey is a popular local spot offering wood-fired pizzas, gourmet bites, and craft beer on tap. It's a great place to grab a beer and delicious pizza while watching the chefs at work. The establishment has excellent service and a lovely staff. Additionally, the area around The Abbey features charming boutiques like The Abbey itself and Bogart's Books for book enthusiasts.
This place was AMAZING!! I don’t rate often, but I felt this place deserved it. Me and my mom shared a small pizza (Brussel sprout and bacon) and chicken pesto sandwich. It was delicious to say the absolute least. The crust on the pizza was thin, crisp, and the slices weren’t too big. The sandwich’s ciabatta bread was fluffy and buttery, which was the perfect balance for the large piece of chicken. And I just have to add, as a ranch girl, both dishes were so good I didn’t even use my ranch.

Fun, local place. Good place to get the local vibe, enjoy a meal, and relax. Staff are attentive and friendly. Innovative menu combined with standard California fare. Good draft beer selection, bar and tables, and TVs and sports. Limited outdoor seating. Good for a casual date, solo date, and everyday meal. Check them out.

I work around the corner been able to eat here a few times. I usually sit at the bar. Sometimes I feel like the bartender can read my mind. I've tried the fried chicken sandwich, sausage pizza which they roll the dough and put in the fire pizza oven. I've had the burgers and like a child the buffalo chicken tenders with fries. Everyone here is friendly and the food is great bar food. I'll definitely be back for more

Great little neighborhood pub and grille with woodfired pizza and a great beer selection as highlights. Liked it on my first visit and have grown to love it -- the vibe, the people, the service, the food. Located in the heart of old town Seal Beach, this is a well-kept secret by the locals.

First visit, recommended by a local Seal Beach business, glad we went here. I had the meatloaf sandwich, on the “special” menu. Nice thick slice of meatloaf, served hot, chewy Parmesan coated grilled sourdough bread, mildly spicy sauce. The fries are the skinny ones, just average. Very good, friendly service. Would give this place 4.5 stars, if I could. Clean restroom. Recommended.

Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is a 1300-acre coastal wetland in Southern California, home to over 200 avian species. It's a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers, offering activities such as hiking, biking, birdwatching, and water sports like surfing, canoeing, and kayaking. The reserve is known for its diverse wildlife, including egrets, pelicans, and sandpipers.
Great place to watch birds and go for a hike. Runners, birders and walkers share the trails. Plenty of clean, informative signs at every lookout point. Most of the scenery is near ocean side with oil rigs on the northern end. It cuts off on eastern end for mating birds. Some pretty pink flowers there to mark the spot. A crosswalk at the parking lot on the east side for pch would be helpful for those who want to cross to the beach side.

It’s an easy hiking area through beautiful nature. We’ve seen many birds, lizards, fish, squirrels, rabbits, and even coyotes. Fortunately, the coyotes were on the other side of the fence. Just be aware when you’re hiking. The trails are easy for kids to walk and very well-maintained. It was even easy enough to push a stroller through the trails. You can see the ocean on the other side of PCH. The sunsets are gorgeous. There are lots of benches if you want to relax and enjoy the view. We usually park in the lot off of Warner Ave. It’s free. It’s not a large lot, but we haven’t had any trouble finding a spot.

Easily a top 3 bird watching spot. They have so many species it it impossible to keep count. Getting there is super easy and also parking. I was blown away and captured some amazing shots of some migratory and not typical birds. I highly recommend this spot.

Flowers are not fully blooming yet but still very beautiful. Perfect place for bird sighting. We went on a week day, not crowded at all, which was perfect for us since we wanted to take pictures with flowers of my beloved dog's paw print. I'm always looking for easy to moderate trails, and this is an easy one, excellent for a serene long or short walk.

Great place to get a walk with cool sea breezes. There were birds and fish to look at that made it pleasant. Much of the trail was poorly maintained and some areas were not marked. There was also lots of urban infrastructure visible including pumping facilities, and oil jacks. The parking was limited so I recommend getting there early if you want to park at either end of the trailhead.

We stumbled upon this fantastic bistro by chance after unsuccessfully trying to get a table at a restaurant in the Marina—and we’re so glad we did! Who would have expected to find such an authentic French bistro in Seal Beach of all places? The food was excellent. We sampled several appetizers, and each one was full of flavor and unmistakably French. They also offer a few Italian options, adding variety without losing their French essence. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The restaurant itself is discreet and relatively quiet, with a modest, unassuming atmosphere. But don’t let that fool you—this place delivers the real deal when it comes to French cuisine, which is rare to find. A true hidden gem!

Our go to spot in Seal Beach for good food, service, and atmosphere. Never disappointed, whatever we choose, but particular faves are the Ribeye plate and beef bourguignon, plus sides of brussel sprouts, baguette and tapenade. Found when I didn't want to wait for La Crema down the street, completely loved it. Great atmosphere with bar inside, we sat by the open window. A great view by the open window, the meal was loved by all, ages 9 to 92. With a wide selection of wine, it did not surprise me to see a couple seated with plate and a bottle 🧀🍷 I also noticed the outside tables, on a beautiful California Sunday, were popular with the first to be seated. The waiter was fantastic and I am kicking myself for forgetting his name.

What a vibe this cute place has! If you're looking for a chill spot filled with french inspired cuisine and great customer service, then this place is for you! I enjoyed a glass of wine that did not disappoint on the serving size, 🍷😉!! Their charcuterie board paired with their baguette was fire! The spread was amazing and they supplied more bread when we ran out, no extra charge. Really enjoyed the music and the whole ambiance of the place. Take a stop by, don't think you'll be disappointed. Oh! And if you like brussel sprouts and bacon, you definitely gotta try them!!! 👩‍🍳💋

Easily a 5 star restaurant. The food looked great and it was hot, it was delicious! Unique flavors. The hospitality was much much colder. Server didn't seemed too thrilled we were there. In our almost one hour visit she stopped 3 times. Take the order, bring the order and asked one time if everything was ok. The place is a little dirty and could use some detail cleaning. Maybe some adjusting on the soda ratio since mine was very watered down. Might come back on another time. Maybe things changed because the couple whom I assume are the owners had just left.

Catrina Cafe is a delightful gem that radiates warmth and charm, making it the perfect spot for breakfast and lunch in Seal Beach. This airy eatery serves up a mouthwatering array of Mexican-inspired dishes, from hearty morning meals to scrumptious sandwiches. You can’t miss their churro-style waffles topped with lechera whipped cream—an absolute treat for those with a sweet tooth!
Visiting seal beach for the day and got the best brunch/lunch at this cafe! My daughter and I are both gluten free and they had bread for us. Even made my delicious chicken sandwich with double pieces since the GF bread is small. Basically got two small sandwiches! The sweet potato fries were delicious and came unsalted which was great. Been traveling for a week and all the other restaurants seem to load up on salt on everything and I loved the more healthy option. And the prices were also really reasonable especially for such yummy food and good portions!

The food was alright, it was definitely under seasoned and missing a few things, the cappuccino was no good either and tasted watered down. The service was very subpar and the server never came back to check on me, I had to flag her down anytime I needed something. 2 stars since the waffle fries were pretty good.

I’ve passed by this cute little restaurant so many times on the way to Crema Cafe, and I’m so glad I finally stopped in! I wasn’t in the mood for eggs, so I ordered from the sandwich menu and got the veggie wrap. It was delicious and HUGE so I saved the other half to go. My boyfriend had an omelet and really enjoyed it. It was busy, but not overwhelmingly so it’s definitely more chill than the usual wait at Crema. I still love Crema, but tbh, this place might have just won me over. The space is small but very clean, service was fast, and the staff were all super attentive. You could flag down anyone and they’d gladly help. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks, Catrina Cafe!

A "newer" local cafe I haven't then internet because every time I come by it's so busy. The line seems to be justified. On a slow Tuesday morning I slipped in for a fantastic breakfast. Extending my love affair with espresso the Cafe Mexicano provided a tasty treat of espresso, milk, cinnamon and hot water. Main course was ave what the spicy BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, egg, Verde salsa). A breakfast twist on a classic sandwich. It was also fantastic. Service was kind. Outside of trying to deal with the long waits they sometimes have, I'll be back again.

The ratio of beans to salsa is perfect on the Huevos Ranchero - eggs sunny side up is a nice combo. The cafe del Olla comes in a up large enough to drown the Thursday sins.

Food was delicious, they accommodated our large party of 16 and the food came out fast. The Catrina burger I had was delicious, my wife had the chilaquiles and she said they were good. Overall great place with good prices, wheel chair accessible and street parking right outside.

Teppanyaki restaurant
Kobe Steakhouse & Lounge is a great place to go for a fun night with friends. Their sushi is fresh and their teppanyaki steak is delicious. The live music in the lounge area makes it an enjoyable experience all round.
Great experience! Was there for breakfast with the Beatles brunch. Band and food were amazing. Only thing was that the unlimited mimosas were taking a bit long to get to our table and I think they ran out before the end of the show.

Breakfast with the Beatles- awesome show. The band did really well taking us on a journey of the Beatles, wardrobe changes, and even hair styles. The attention to details really enhanced the experience, they did a flawless job. Three sets total. Very intimate venue, but I would imagine if you just wanted to hear the music without watching the show, you could get seats in the other parts of the restaurant area. The food- sushi of various rolls , miso soup etc. They have traditional breakfast eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, French toast, pancakes and omelette bar, They had noodles and fried rice, ribs, sliders (hamburgers) and the steak bar with NY steak. Bottomless mimosas, coffee etc. They also had various desserts. Overall a great experience not only the food but the show as well. First time here and it won’t be the last.

We went to the Beatles Brunch and holy moly was it worth it! Nothing beats live music and what more- BEATLES live music! The food was great (we LOVED the kobe sliders and teppanyaki and unlimited mimosas!). It is the best brunch we’ve ever been to because it was a WHOLE EXPERIENCE! We will be recommending EVERYONE to do the Beatles brunch at least once. But we did meet a few friends who have been 4+ times since discovering it… and we’d love to join that club!

First class entertainment from The Family Band L.A. was the highlight of my weekend! The food was great, the atmosphere(s) were also great. It was a good time all around! This is where my guests will go when visiting me from out of town. 👌🏾

A group of 4 of us went to Kobe to enjoy a birthday celebration in the dining room (not hibachi area). The service was impeccable, with attention to detail, and helpful, friendly servers. They even held our food warm when one of our family wasn't feeling well for a bit. Some of our group really enjoyed their meals, while mine, unfortunately, was uninspired. I ordered steak and chicken, which looked great on the plate, and the steak was cooked medium rare, as I'd requested. Unfortunately, the steak was not at all tender, despite being properly cooked. Just not a good cut of meat I guess. It wasn't even worth taking the leftovers for a rather speedy dish. Also, the chicken breast was very bland, unseasoned (except for the teriyaki sauce poured over it), and it was dry and tough. I didn't want to make a scene because it was a birthday, and the server did her best to make it an enjoyable event, but the quality of the main dish choices were definitely not worth the price, and definitely will not bring me back again. The uncharge fried rice and the veggies were quite good, but the main dishes were so disappointing. A+ for service, an unfortunate C (at best) for my main dishes.

Fine dining restaurant
Patty's Place is an elegant seafood and steakhouse with a sophisticated atmosphere and an outdoor terrace where smoking is permitted. With a long-established name, the restaurant has made significant improvements while keeping its dedication to providing guests with exceptional dining experiences. Despite the bar being full, the attentive server Gina managed to arrange a table on the patio for the customer and their wife, thanks to Nick, the accommodating manager, and the busser. This exclusive setting made their dinner and evening truly memorable.
The dinner was wonderful. Prime rib was good, juicy and tender and the au jus was good with it. The filet mignon was absolutely delicious. Tender, nice sear, medium rare. The garlic mashed potatoes, zucchini, asparagus, and broccoli all fresh and very good. The waitstaff was very friendly and kind. Excellent service. The owner stopped by for a chat. Very personable and nice. The patio was warmed with heaters as we had no reservation but called to make sure they had extra seating. Worth the price and I’m looking forward to the killer chocolate cake we took back to our hotel. Would definitely recommend.

We truly enjoyed the experience. The food is very high quality and large portions ☺️ We had an issue with the steak having a slightly burnt taste, but the crew handled it perfectly and the owner (Nick) came over to personally apologize and chat. He is a great person and cares for the customers. The price was a bit higher than we expected. But that was our fault. We looked at a menu on the Google page a few years old, so be aware 😉 The wine was nice and the drinks very tasty. Leave room for dessert as they are all made onsite. Delicious 😋

This was our first time here. We had escargot, calamari, ceviche and ravioli. The food was good except the ceviche had no flavor, no citrus. Had to order limes to do it ourselves. The service by the waitress was ok/good but the service by Juan (bus boy) was absolutely amazing. He was on top of everything. Actually saw him twice as much if not more as our waitress.

This is a great upscale restaurant. Perfect for special date nights. The Patty's house salad is a must. The sauce in the scampi Ravioli is to die for. Drinks are decent. So far we've tried the prime rib and shrimp pasta. The prime rib was seasoned well, but I requested medium rare and they served it a hair below rare. It also wasn't the highest quality piece of meat, there was fat and connective tissue running throughout the meat instead of just under the rib cap. The mashed potatoes were great. The asparagus steamed and and not seasoned 😞 the shrimp in the pasta were huge and the sauce great. The desert is fantastic, the boozy coffee hits hard. The praline sauce on the bread pudding is phenomenal. The apple tart is fantastic. This is our second visit and will not be our last. Service is also great.

By far the most overpriced meal I have ever eaten. Four people, one very mediocre margarita each, decent (but not amazing) steaks and a few sides. Seven hundred bucks including tip. Never again.

Day 3

Northwest side of town
For day 3, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Eisenhower Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Gum Grove Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Public beach
Eisenhower Park is a charming waterfront park located in Seal Beach, Orange County. It features a compact playground for young children and convenient restroom facilities. The park offers stunning views of the ocean and is a popular spot for picnics, with ample lawn space to set up chairs or blankets. Visitors can also enjoy free summer concerts and participate in various seasonal events such as car shows, fish fries, and run derbies.
Beautiful place to talk, sit, nap, eat, and take a beautiful stroll on the beach and enjoy the breeze and sun on the grass. One can picnic and watch the ocean as you walk along the pier. You can fish, have a great cup of coffee from Bogarts and any one of the restaurants around. There is free entertainment and a playground for all. Plenty of parking and a beautiful beach surrounded by homes and a beautiful sunrise and sunset. It is dog friendly.

Excellent beachfront park overlooking the ocean in Seal Beach, California! Here’s another Eisenhower Park, not to be confused with my hometown park in Orange, California. The small park is a great place to set out some lawn chairs or place a blanket down in the grass for a leisure day use picnic. It’s close to parking spots and near enough to public facilities for convenience, plus there’s often the local talent of musicians here to entertain! Best of all is the panoramic view out to many famous points of interest!

Great place to see the sunset! A walk to the park to see the day end followed by dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. Very dog friendly park except for the pier. Bakery
Sweet Jill's Bakery is a beloved Long Beach and Seal Beach establishment that has been serving up traditional baked goods since 1987. Their classic offerings include delectable cinnamon rolls, cakes, muffins, sugar cookies, scones, and carrot cake. Despite the long lines, the friendly staff ensures quick service for patrons eager to indulge in their irresistible treats. While there's no seating available inside the bakery, customers can take their goodies home or enjoy them on the go.
My son and I came here to get our sweet tooth filled this past Sunday. It was packed with customers going out the door and no place to sit down. Still the service was excellent and the pastries were amazing. We had to watch our treats in the car, but that was okay because we chilled out to music. My son had the German Chocolate Brownie (which he couldn't finish due to the size of the serving) and I had the Peanut Butter with Chocolate Fudge Pie. Both were amazing!!! Oh...we washed them down with Real human prepared Hot Chocolates!!

Sweet Jill’s has been around forever—and for good reason. But let me give you a heads-up: they only accept CASH. No Venmo, no Zelle, no Apple pay either just good old-fashioned paper money. For your “convenience,” their own ATM setup inside with a $2 fee. So if you want to avoid the surcharge, plan ahead and bring enough cash. Now onto the sweet stuff, literally. There are so many tempting dessert options here. It’s basically a danger zone for your waistline (you’ve been warned 😂). I ordered everything to go: the Lemon Bar for myself, and the Cherry Deep Dish and Coconut Cake for my boyfriend. The lemon bar was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy honestly sooo good! My boyfriend happily devoured his picks. He’s a longtime fan of Sweet Jill’s, so no surprise there. If you’re in the area and have a sweet tooth, this place is a must-try. Just remember cash is king at Sweet Jill’s.

I had such high hopes for this place because I could smell the sweets cooking from across the street. The service was great. They say cash only but they to take Apple Pay and debit card or credit cards. Everything looked so delicious I didn’t know what to get. I ended trying the carrot cupcake. The size was amazing. 2 people can eat it. But I believe in quality over quantity. The best thing was the icing, it was super delicious not overly sweet. The problem was with the cupcake. It lacked in Flavor a lot. I didn’t get much carrot or spices. No nutmeg or cinnamon or anything. It tastes like flour with a little bit of carrot and nuts. Would I try this place again maybe, but I wouldn’t go for the cakes. Maybe a cookie.
Racquel B — Google review
cake, but it thinks it's a brownie 🤨 serving absolute sugar bombs and the frosting's got an artificial tang again.. the cookie dough for the cookie dough brownie was proper dough, just drowned out by the heap of chocolate brownie, but the peanut butter brownie still shines, stunnin for nut-butter lovers. this spot's a bite-sized clone of the 2nd street location: fewer choices, same sweet-treat consistency.
Kim — Google review
Overall, it’s a solid bakery that keeps it simple and does what it’s good at. They’ve got a big mix of cookies, cakes, and bars, but the cinnamon rolls are what they’re known for. The cinnamon roll I thought lived up to the hype. It's a good size to share. The snickerdoodle cookie was humongous, the size of my face. The banana walnut cake and carrot cake were my faves, both really good. The chocolate parfait seemed to be my daughter's favorite. Want to come back for sure to try some other items.

Come here every single time we are in town. Specifically for the upside down German chocolate cake. Originally from the Bay Area and travel for work. Somehow always end up taking 4-5 slices just to take home and share the best cake we’ve ever tasted. Spells amazing right as you walk in. And always a friendly staff. Other baked goods we got were chocolate coconut macaroons, strawberry cake, apple pie and cinnamon rolls!

Main Street Cyclery is a bike shop located near Seal Beach Pier, offering a wide range of bicycles including beach cruisers, hybrids, road, mountain, and BMX bikes. In addition to bike sales, they also provide repair services. The bustling Main Street in Old Town Seal Beach is filled with boutique clothing stores, home decor shops, surf stores, and antique shops. It's the perfect place for leisurely strolls and window shopping.
Bike shopping just got a whole lot friendlier! The team at this store – Aaron, Paul, Andrew, and Aiden – are the real MVPs. They greeted me with smiles, expertly guided me (a towering 6'4" bike newbie) to the perfect ride, and even fixed a few minor issues with a smile. Despite dealing with, ahem, enthusiastic customers, they stayed calm and collected. I'm impressed by their gear-tastic knowledge and multitasking skills – juggling multiple customers while keeping the vibe chill. Now, I'll be cruising down to Seal Beach Pier, waving hello as I ride by. Thanks, guys, for the awesome service and bike expertise!
Kyle T — Google review
My first time going here. I had an old beach cruiser that needed a tune up. They're inspected my bike and told me what I needed to get it rolling so I approved the workorder and was very pleased when I went to pick it up. Now it runs like a champ. They put on new inner tubes, ordered me a new back tire, and ordered me a new shifter and put on a new bike chain. The staff is very helpful and answered questions I had concerning how to properly lube a bike chain and what to use. When I brought my bike home and rode it, it was smooth and peddled easily. I was very happy. I will definitely return for all my biking needs.

THE BEST bike mechanics in California, there I said it. On a tour with a friend and his bike had 6 broken spokes! We managed to limp to the store after several other bike shops said they didn't have time, these guys were awesome and made time for us. The wheel was absolutely screwed but they did a great job fixing the wheel and it has since made it to San Diego allowing us to finish our trip. They didn't overcharge us at all and are superb dudes to chat to, couldn't recommend this shop enough.

I can’t say enough good things about Main Street Cyclery in Seal Beach. I was near the end of a 4-week cycling trip from Seattle to San Diego when, just two days from the finish line, disaster struck—my crank arm completely broke on a Thursday afternoon, just two hours before the shop was set to close. Aaron stepped in and absolutely saved the day. He didn’t just patch me up—he replaced my entire crankset in under an hour, with kindness, confidence, and a clear eagerness to help. His positive attitude and expert service turned a potential trip-ending crisis into a moment of gratitude and momentum. If you’re a local rider or someone passing through, this is the shop you want on your side. Main Street Cyclery is a rare gem—thank you, Aaron!

I had a Horrible experience at Huntington Beach Bicycles. I bought a Trek Helmet online and I wanted to return it and the company Said I could return it to any authorized Trek Dealer which they are but the old guy said he didn't know how to do it. He didn't want nothing to do with it and he wouldn't take it. So I go over to Main Street Cyclery And the gentleman tells me he hasn't done it in a while, but he would be happy to take care of it for me. Since they were so accommodating I end up buying a helmet from them and I highly recommend this place

Gum Grove Park

Park
Nestled along the edge of the Los Cerritos Wetlands, Gum Grove Park is a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This charming 10-acre park features picturesque eucalyptus trees and offers a variety of trails perfect for leisurely strolls, dog walks, or family outings. With both paved paths for an easy walk and more rugged wooded trails that provide a bit of a workout, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Being in the middle of a busy city can get exhausting and this little hike was such a nice escape from it all. From beginning to end I want to say it was less than 2.5 miles. This is almost completely dirt trails, nothing up hill, and not very shaded if you're going midday. While you visit you will most definitely run into some frogs, lizards, and lots of cool birds. Parking: can be a little tricky because it's in a residential neighborhood. Park on the street (check which day street sweep is on)! Dog-Friendly?: Yes 👍🐶 your dog must be leashed (although it seems like a lot of people don't follow this) and please just pick up after them. There are a few trashcans along the way, so pick up the poop! There are lots of coyotes in the area, so just be aware of that (also why it's a good idea to have your dog on a leash. My dog really enjoyed all the little critters he saw scurrying around (squirrels/lizards) and he was able to get a lot of energy out "hunting" lol.
Rylee N — Google review
The place where the breeze from the nearby Seal Beach is fresh. The trails that even the elderly can easily take a walk, and the wildflowers blooming everywhere are beautiful. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, come to this place and enjoy being alone.

Great little walking trails, quite a bit of sound pollution.. airplanes, gardeners, construction. It seems like it is a different house every single time. There are some amazing nature sounds if you can tune out all the garbage. The best time to visit is a couple weeks after a good rain, everything is green and the wildlife is active. Free parking, no restrooms.
Michael W — Google review
Fun for a short and flat hike. The trail is in between protected wetlands and residences. This year's heavy rains brought a lot of wildflower blooms and frogs! Entrance is in a neighborhood. Follow the road down the hill and you can park in a small lot at the start of the trail. There are no bathrooms.
Chino M — Google review
This is a small gem located between the Los Cerritos Wetlands and housing tract. This trail loop is about 2 miles round trip and can easily be managed by a family with little ones. There are two entrances. The westerly entrance is located off PCH and Mar Vista Ave., at the end of Avalon Dr., past it's intersection with Crestview Ave. The easterly entrance is at Seal Beach Blvd. and Heron Pointe (across from the main entrance to the Naval Weapons Station). Each entrance has parking, with moreso available at the westerly entrance. Like most public trails and parks, it is open from dusk until dawn. The best time to visit is springtime when all the blossoms are out, blanketing the floor beneath the towering gumtree eucalyptus. The best way to enjoy the trail is through the westerly entrance, of which there are three levels of trails. The lower trail is the flattest, but still offers great views. The mid-slope trail takes you up & down amid the gum groves and in between the greenery and blossoms. The upper trail runs along the top of the slope and abuts the fences and walls of the northerly end of the neighboring housing tract. Continuing easterly will give you more options as you come to a fork past a gate. Proceeding straight and to your right will careen you through a much wider path between housing tracts. This path eventually leads to the easterly entrance at Heron Pointe, at Seal Beach Blvd. Taking the left in the fork will give a more rewarding trek, in my opinion. Once you go down some stairs (maybe eight steps), you will come across the first of ten monument stones with a plaque affixed. Each plaque explains the history of the surrounding area from the native people, to the ranchos, to the land purchases of Abel Stearns, Isias Hellman, and the Bixby family. Onward past these ten stones is a circular seating area with four informative signs. Unfortunately, they are weather-beaten and nearly eligible. Forging on will soon get you to a dead end at a locked double-gate.

I've always loved gum Grove Park. It's more tucked away and more natural than most public manicured parks. You never know what you're going to find there! This time I saw so many of these tiny little frogs i couldn't even believe it!!

Nice and easy trail to take your dog. Although there were signs posted about coyotes, at the time of day that I went I felt safe to take the dog. If it were early morning or late evening, I would worry. Otherwise, its a short trail and well shaded

Great low-intensity trail. The Gum Grove Park loop could easily be completed in 15-20 minute, but if you're looking for some exta intensity, you can branch off into the Hellman Ranch trail if you want to add some extra time and scenery to your walk. Enjoyed the two trails together with my pup for an hour of fun this morning.

Thai on Main is a contemporary eatery located in a prime spot on Main Street, offering updated Thai cuisine in an inviting ambiance. Despite being surrounded by bars and comfort food joints, this restaurant stands out with its refined dishes. Established by the owners of 320 Main and Beachwood BBQ, it has become a favorite dining destination in Seal Beach since its opening in 2013.
I visited this restaurant with my wife, and these are my observations: The good: Prices and portions are right on target. The taste is authentic, and the sauces are very good! There is plenty of free parking, and the neighborhood is very peaceful. Service is very good and the waitress is very attentive and nice. She has that welcome to the restaurant vibe. The bad: I really didn't find any other than the music. If they play some traditional Thai music, it will, in my opinion, complete the experience. The music, however, is not bad... The ugly: There is nothing bad or ugly about the experience I had with my wife. We actually want to come back to this place more often and try other wonderful dishes they have. Overall, I recommend this jewel hidden somewhere between Long Beach and Seal Beach called Thai on Main. You will not regret it.

Had lunch here yesterday. Cute place and pretty popular with the locals, and I’ve been here a number of times but usually for dinner. This is also one of the few restaurants in the area that stays open on holidays, which is always a plus. They serve the same menu for both lunch and dinner. We came in around 1 PM and it wasn’t too crowded. I wasn’t super hungry, so I just went with their Thai Iced Tea and Papaya Salad. My friends ordered the Pad See Ew, Fresh Spring Rolls, and Khao Soi. Everything came out great as expected. Super flavorful with generous portions. We ended up boxing most of it. Service was fast and easy, as always.

Really great place. My parents like coming here. We got shrimp spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, yellow chicken curry, spicy beef salad, mango stick rice and Thai tea. About a spicy level of 3 for the food. It was a but much for them but luckily that salad was very refreshing. Everything was delicious! The Thai tea is also strong so don't make the mistake of drinking it late like I did, lol. They do add alot of ice to the tea so make sure to ask for less. Sorry for the not so great photos. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures of all the food as it came out but I promise it was all delicious and beautiful. 😂

Excellent Thai restaurant in Seal Beach. I had dinner twice during the week I was in Seal Beach, the dishes are delicious are personnel very kind and attentive. The choice of spicy level is perfect, servers ask for it every time. And prices are very decent. A great place to have lunch or dinner with family and friends. Highly recommended!

Thai on Main has been my favorite restaurant on Main St. pretty much since they opened. I hadn't been there in a while, so when I had a friend visiting last week, I suggested we go there for lunch - on a Friday at 1:00 p.m. The fact that there was only 1 other occupied table should have been a tip that something has changed. The server sat us at a table away from the front window, even though there was an open table. I asked for a window table. He said we might not want that, considering THE FLIES. I looked closer, and there were flies buzzing all around the window and window sill, and many dead fly bodies laying on the window sill. I noted that the windows were open, but the screen frames were broken and created a gap where the hoards of flies were coming in to the restaurant. Even on our table mid-way back, there was one of those spinning fly fans - INSIDE THE RESTAURANT, and we still had to wave away flies. The service was poor, our waters weren't refilled, the serving bowls that our food came in were all chipped up, we weren't given individual plates to be able share the two dishes we ordered. My friend was trying to be cool and not judge my lunch recommendation, and I was majorly embarrassed. Something has drastically changed with this restaurant, for the worst, and I likely won't go back. The whole experience was gross.

Thai On Main is Seal Beach in a nutshell—casual, friendly, and full of flavor. The Spring rolls, Glass noodle salad and Three Curries plate is a must. Happy hour apps are a steal, and the vibe is perfect whether you’re rolling in sandy from the pier or dressed up for date night. Busy on weekends, but always worth it.

Greek restaurant
Athens West is a Greek eatery that offers a variety of options such as gyros, seafood, and salads. Customers can enjoy their meals indoors or outdoors. One customer was extremely satisfied with their gyro sandwich but did mention the absence of harissa, a Greek hot sauce, which they found peculiar since other hot sauces like Tapatio and Tabasco were available. The cashier at Athens West is described as very kind and provided delicious recommendations that turned out to be spot-on.
My husband convinced me to try a gyro for the first time. I cant believe that I took so long to consider to try one!!! This place is amazing, it is a beautiful day here in Seal beach 🏖️,, we bought the gyro pita, side of fries and a drink. We sat outside, enjoying the ocean breeze and the most absolute best lunch ever!! Great customer service , Very clean. Affordable... will definitely return.

Came in for takeout during lunch time on Friday. Super relax, chill vibe. Not busy with couple tables inside and several out in the patio overlooking the parking lot. Parking was no deal (yet). Street parking (free for 2hrs) and parking lot(s) is/are to pay for. Service is friendly, great, and fast. Easy order and fast turnaround since I was the only one ordering. I got the gyro and it was delicious and packed of juicy & well mixed meats and fresh & cold veggies. Will come back for more and with fries next time.

If you want the best gyro, this is the place! Ever since we visited Greece, we’ve been searching for that authentic taste, but every gyro we had in the U.S. before felt like fast food. Here, both the meat and the bread are fresh and perfectly cooked, giving a truly refined and delicious flavor! We just stopped by for a snack this time, but we’ll definitely be back to try more of their dishes.

I ordered a gyro pita, and it was not only delicious but also a very generous portion. On top of that, the young waiter’s service was absolutely perfect! It turned out to be such a great lunch, and I can truly recommend this place to everyone!

I love the food. There are options for vegetarian. The portions were good but the only thing I didn't like that I ordered the spanakopita for $5. The plate came has only two. That was very disappointing and they didn't write how many pieces in the menu. There was a picture on the door that has four pieces so I imagined the plate has four pieces. That was the only thing I didn't like.

Kabobs are very small. People working are nice enough however if you ask about items the person just pointed at the hanging menu. Not sure if it was language barrier or what but felt dismissive. (Note he did this to 3 customers in a row). Place is sorta clean. Dead bugs in bathroom. Not rushing back

The Hangout Restaurant & Beach Bar is a popular surf-themed dining spot located near Seal Beach Pier, offering panoramic views of the ocean and Main Street. This award-winning restaurant serves up a variety of dishes including burgers, BBQ, seafood, and breakfast options like lobster omelettes and jalapeno burgers. Guests can also enjoy an extensive selection of craft beers, cocktails, and wine while taking in the stunning vistas.
Bar staff and wait staff provide excellent service. Located across the street from the pier with a large parking lot. Breakfast and lunch food are very good. We had the breakfast burrito and the bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomato sandwich. Bloody mary is tasty.

The service was amazing. We didn't feel rushed or pressured to leave even though it was crowded. Everything our party ordered was good. They had a full bar, so we ordered bloody Mary's and they were perfect. There are 3 or 4 kinds you can choose that suits your preference. The location is great, so parking can be a problem. Be prepared to walk.

We had dinner at The Hangout twice recently and had a generally positive experience. On our first visit, I tried the pear salad and absolutely loved it — fresh, well-balanced, and full of flavor. On our second visit, I ordered the mussels pasta. While the presentation and service were excellent, I found the dish itself a bit underwhelming. The sauce was very liquid and lacked flavor for my taste. It might just not have been the right dish for me, but overall, I appreciated the friendly atmosphere and attentive staff.

We stopped into The Hangout Restaurant & Beach Bar on our way to the Long Beach airport, and it was such a great choice! The service was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. We tried the jalapeño burger, shrimp, and their Food Network–famous onion rings, and they lived up to the hype! The adult chicken tenders, breaded in-house, were another highlight—their breading and beer batter were absolutely amazing. This spot has a fun, laid-back vibe with great food and friendly service. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

Great view looking out on Ocean and pier. Great service from Beth W. Lots of options on the menu (see pics). I ordered a Texas toast breakfast sandwich. Egg was more over easy than requested over medium, but the mess was delicious. Hangout has been here for ever. Most laid-back restaurant with an Ocean view. Would come back for more at any mealtime. Might go to Beach House if I wanted to feel fancier.

5 stars – A Perfect Beachside Breakfast Experience :) I had breakfast at The Hangout with a friend, and we were both absolutely thrilled with the experience. We each had omelettes, which were delicious – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was outstanding. Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly, always making sure our coffee and water were refilled without us even having to ask. It’s rare to feel that well taken care of these days! And then there’s the location – just stunning. The restaurant is right on the beach, with a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere that made us want to stay for hours. You can enjoy great food with the view of the ocean in the background – what more could you ask for? The Hangout is a gem. Great food, excellent service, and an unbeatable location. Sushi restaurant
Koi Japanese Cuisine is a well-established family-run restaurant in Seal Beach, California, that specializes in traditional Japanese cuisine and sushi. With a wide selection of seasonal appetizers and sake, this popular eatery is beloved by both locals and tourists. The Sweetheart Roll, filled with crab meat, tuna, avocado, and roe, along with the spicy crunchy shrimp roll and soft-shell crab roll are some of their signature dishes.
High quality fish with an awesome sushi chef who created a fun and inviting environment. The sashimi and fish were all of very high quality. I also enjoyed the seasonal menu of interesting appetizers including the chili shrimp. Getting to talk with the chef and owner really added to the experience.

Koi, you never disappoint. Went here for a bday dinner Omakase. And since recently, we have had amazing Omakase in Japan, the bar was set pretty high, and boy, let me tell ya, it did not disappoint. We sat by the bar and asked for Omakase with Shin-san. And I trust him with all my heart and tummy. Loool! All the fresh fishes, local and important was just so fresh and greatly prepared. The Black cod appetizer truly melted in your mouth good. Shin-san also made the birthday dinner by preparing a special dessert! Shin-san really made this 3xperience so worthwhile, the service is even better than we evrr had in Japan. Definitely a splurge for Omakase but so worth it. So glad that a lot of the locals frequented there and the chefs knew rhem by name. Now, that's dedicqtion and love in their craft. The waitresses are always so courteous and attentive. Koi, you didnt disappount me then and you didnt disappoint me now. My ever favorite place for Omakase in SoCal! ありがとうほざいます。ごちそさまでした。

The only thing difficult here was to decide what to order. Albacore is my go-to for an appetizer, and it was delicious. I ordered the sashimi dinner and loved everything except the red Tuna. Portion size of the salad was very generous. Not pictured is the Miso soup, standard and tasty. Great dining experience, food was wonderful, and we will definitely return.

Seating for 2 at the bar in front of the chef. We went right before the Pandmeic started. It was a special night. Told the waiter we wanted to spend around $100 per person (not including drinks) and surprise us. We were served 10 small unique phenomenal dishes. Such a wonderful experience!

This was a gift from friends. We normally don't go here. We had an excellent meal and drinks. People were lined up at the door at opening time. Fortunately, we had a reservation. I had mixed tempura which was good. Had interesting cold sake in these wooden boxes. It was good but a bit pricey.

Honestly… the sake was delicious… smooth. The sushi was okay nothing too fancy. They offer different kinds of fish you would not find everywhere. So some of their dishes they offer regular or premium fish. We got the regular, but you could tell some of the items were not as fresh and while they make the plate look nice some of the better fish cut is way smaller in size. So it definitely pricy for the quality of food… but the selection of fish kinda compensated for the price/portion size… definitely not the quality. The toro was ok. The food presentation was great, gluten free option…. Servers were amazing. It was a bit loud… definitely had to raise the voice to hear your party.
Smile S — Google review
Average service. Shasimi pieces and the salmon roe are too too small. Avoid the Chilean Sea bass. Its too gummy and not fresh. Been eating these fish for over a decade now and I certainly know what is fresh and what is frozen for a very long time. The 6 oysters pacific and small types are good but nothing to die for. I asked if they have the blue oysters from France which are commonly served in the bay area and San Diego Japanese owned sushi resto. The waiter was not aware there is one. But one thing is that the reciept came without the list of food items I ordered. Paid the bill anyway, but that to me is a red flag for a resto and I certainly won't be coming back!

The Red Car Museum is a small local landmark located at the opposite end of Main Street from the pier. It commemorates the history of the Pacific Electric Railway, which connected Newport to parts of Los Angeles and Riverside from 1904 until the 1950s. Housed in a 1925 train car, the museum displays photos, Native American artifacts, and local history books.

Super cute spot for high tea. Ignore all the reviews complaining about the amount of food because literally, it's a high tea. Two bite sandwiches are what is served with tea people. I walked out full... Anyway, the soup was delicious, the scones with jam and clotted cream were just as good. Service was great and everyone was really nice. A must go and I will be back.

I loved my time here. We got there 30 minutes early before our reservation and they sat us down immediately. The atmosphere is comforting and sweet and reminds me of home. The food was delicious and I left stuffed. I should have taken more broccoli cheddar soup and scones home with me! Service was wonderful and staff was very nice. I recommend getting there early just in case since parking can be hit or miss since it's a busy area. We will be coming back!

I was invited to a bridal tea party at Mckenna's this past weekend. What a delightful place to have tea and finger foods! The atmosphere was peaceful and the food was absolutely amazing. Probably the best peach mango tea I've ever had. I got hot tea on a warm day but it didn't stop me from enjoying the yummy scones with my own pot of tea. They offer a variety of tea, coffee and herbal tea. Our group went with The Royal. It's a 3 course meal of salad, soup followed by the most beautiful 3 tier arrangement of scones and an assortment of delicious desserts. I ate a lot but didn't feel heavy. We sat outdoors with a table but you can also request a sofa. Karen checked us all in and she was most helpful going over the menu. They can accommodate large parties as well as intimate party for 2. Mckenna's tea cottage is very quaint and serene. The antiques decorate the indoors as you walk in when opens up to another room and then the outdoor patio. I highly recommend coming here for a bridal party or female birthday party. You'll enjoy the views all around.

This is our go to tea place. My daughters and I go at least once every year. The selection of teas is extensive, with seasonal additions. The service is attentive and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. Dining out on the patio is so pleasant. We have tried most of the food items; we love the quiches, soup, and scones the most! Good selection of tea sandwiches and mini desserts, if you choose.

I planned a baby shower for 15-20 guests for February, site charged a $215 deposit to book the tables and for “tablecloths”. I requested pink tablecloths, tables were not dressed any differently than other tables. Staff was very helpful on the phone beforehand, but day of event some of the staff was borderline rude. Party was scheduled 11am-1:30 pm, staff opened up after 11 am and had guests enter through a “storage area”. I told staff beforehand that my daughter wanted a cake, which we brought. I was told to “move the cake”, but staff was reluctant to store cake while tea was served. I had to ask for serving plates and utensils. Tea, scones and sandwiches were great , but “desserts” (cookies) and salad were fair. At the end of event, I was told $215 was not a deposit, but actually a fee for use of the room. So total event was over $1200 for 19 people, including their 20% tip. I would have tipped much less based on my guests’ comments about Maya. The 2nd server-busboy was very accommodating. This could be a great venue, but it needs some TLC in the dining and entry area. Maya needs an attitude adjustment if she’s going to continue as a server. If you schedule a party to start at 11 am, you should be ready for guests at least 10 minutes or so before the scheduled event; or don’t start events until 11:30…

Me and my other friends came to the beach to walk around and enjoy the sights. While walking we stumbled apon a small tea shop that happened to be this! The workers were absolutely amazing, kind, and polite! I got the three dessert and my friend got pink lemonade and tea sandwiches and after we left we both agreed it was the best think we’ve put in our mouths! The shop is absolutely fantastic and I recommend it to anyone who loves tea as well a a nice peaceful atmosphere

Great and unique experience for a tea house. Each table gets a beautiful tea serving ceramic set. The menu is tricky as you can order set/tower or build your own one. The only downside is that if you go with the Royal or other top selection (sandwich, fruit, dessert, scones, etc.), they ask you not to share and have at least $10 order per person. The atmosphere is great and the food/dessert are super nice and unique. Great for a morning/brunch date ☺️

Got there 20 minutes early. Weren't sat at our table until 15 minutes after our reservation time. The service was nice and but didn't seem to care because they were extremely slow, it took 40 minutes to just get our tea and 30 more minutes to get our actual sandwiches, which were subpar for the price. $165 for sandwiches with hardly any filling / contents, just bread as well as cakey cross isn't sand scones. The whole place needs a clean too, the curtains are brown from age and dirt and dust is on every decoration.

Deli
Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the charming streets of Seal Beach, Nick's Deli is a delightful counter-serve eatery that has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. Known for its hearty breakfast burritos, this cozy gem offers an array of comfort food that will satisfy any craving. The star of the menu is undoubtedly their house breakfast burrito, which features a mouthwatering blend of eggs, chorizo, bacon, and cheese all enveloped in a perfectly toasted tortilla.
The Italian Sausage sandwich is very good. The bread started out soft and warm but got tough quickly, which usually indicates they microwaved it before serving. The sausage tasted great, but the casing was thick and I had to take it off before eating. Atmosphere is great. It's perfect for rhe location and very much a part of the Seal Beach vibe.

Customer service was not good at all. The guy at the front counter (with a thick accent) was not helpful with the menu or took the time to greet his customers. The chorizo burrito was good- but only with the mild hot sauce - very dry. The size of the burritos are a little disappointing too. Interesting how you order then pay when you pick up. The ambiance is very quick and short conversations. Defiantly a good place to eat at once if you are stopping by. Not a place I would drive an hour to eat at.

Maybe this is standard LA style burrito but coming from San Diego… these breakfast burritos were not good. The tortilla tasted raw. The “special sauce” is so bland, like tomato paste. And the inside of the burrito (I got hot instead of mild) was also bland. Just eggs and potatoes. There was a bit of flavoring, like burnt grill. I think there was chorizo and bacon but it was hard to identify. I told my friend coming to a deli for a burrito was blasphemous, but she insisted. Would recommend you go to a taco shop if you want a breakfast burrito.

Nicks is my favorite breakfast burrito on planet earth. It’s more than a breakfast burrito to me. It’s my childhood, my memories of surfing seal beach, it tastes like summer, joy, and friendship. It pairs beautifully with chocolate milk, and makes me unreasonably happy.

Great local deli. Grabbed a breakfast burrito on my morning walk back from the beach. Amazing burrito. If you like spicy food, order it "9-1-1". Lady after me ordered so I got the salsa on the side. It was delish.

The little shop is cute and has a covered outdoor area that has a nice ambiance. We got 2 breakfast burritos and they were fairly priced but I wish the tortilla was grilled a bit, it was very pale and looked un-toasted and lacked a bit of flavor but for sure worth a try! Also the guy taking orders was super sweet :)

I love little hole in the walls like this place. Great food, lots of selection for both breakfast and lunch. Some seating that faces the sidewalk if you want to people watch as you eat. There’s also three or four tables inside and two tables outside. It’s cash only but you will enjoy it.

Nick's deli is AMAZING! I came here many times when visiting my wonderful aunt in seal beach in the 2012-18 period. We would make it a near religion to go visit and get food from Nick's which never disappointed! I am very proud to call myself a Nick's officionato and believe it deserves a strong high 4.7 star review!

Restaurant
Taco Surf is a fantastic spot that brings a taste of traditional Mexican cuisine to an inviting beach-themed atmosphere. Their menu offers a wide range of classic dishes like fish tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, accompanied by refreshing beverages. This establishment stands out from generic chain restaurants with its unique and eccentric take on Mexican fare. They serve up flavorful options such as their famous tacos al pastor - mouthwatering marinated pork served on corn tortillas garnished with cilantro and onion.
We had Taco Surf cater our fiesta! The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone raved about it! The service was superior! I will never use another restaurant to cater an event absolutely perfection!

Four of us went in for dinner and there just happened to be a local rock band tuning up when we sat down ten feet from the stage. Great loud Music to enjoy with dinner and met the band. The place is a little bit cramped when they are full but we still had great service. Super fun place!

Delicious food in large portions. The service was quick and friendly, but let us enjoy our meal and conversation. It's definitely a good place to enjoy burritos and or tacos. You won't go wrong.

I ordered a chicken chimichanga, but got beef. It took awhile, so I ate it anyway. It wasn't very good and it's my first chimichanga that didn't come with guacamole. It wasn't crispy either. Friendly service but got 2 out 4 of our orders wrong.

Amazing food. The salsa was good(could be spicier but still good) We tried the Seafood bowl which was pretty good. Lots of flavor. We also tried the famous baja fish taco (which was good) and the original Ensenada Shrimp taco(5 stars for that, must try) was so perfect. And the place is not super expensive. Our server was super nice and checked in many times which was nice. 😀😀

Food was good. I ordered a couple things. I personally didnt like the fish taco, the breading was too thick...but my husband liked it so...🤷‍♀️. Other food was delicious. Update: you must try the strawberry flautas!! They are so delicious!!!!

We stopped in for the Carne Asada and the Hang 10 cocktail and lucked out by arriving during happy hour — affordable and perfect for our food needs. As a light eater, I was thrilled. The cocktails are made with wine instead of hard liquor, which was surprisingly refreshing and ideal for a midday beach outing. This spot is perfect for wine lovers and taco enthusiasts alike. The meat was exceptionally tender, never dry, and the salsa was spot-on. Ingredients were fresh and vibrant, and the portion sizes were satisfying without feeling overwhelming — perfect for lighter appetites. We were even offered more chips after we’d already finished our meal and paid, which was such a thoughtful touch. Franky gave exceptional service! The bathrooms were clean (not just masked with air freshener), and the service felt genuinely attentive. While we came for the Carne Asada, we learned they’re especially known for their fish tacos and that they have a second location serving the same drinks but with hard liquor. A wonderful beachside find — fresh, flavorful, and refreshingly relaxed.

Delicious! One of the tastiest veggie burritos I have ever had! The salsa is out of this world! Perfect blend of spice & flavor. The guacamole unfortunately was not great. It tasted like it was store boat in a plastic container. I did ask if It was homemade & they said every morning at 6am they prep for the day. It is certainly possible if was a one time accident. I would try it again when I go back (cuz I definitely will be). The burrito; OUT OF THIS WORLD. Nice size. Tasty delicious. & they serve it with this Mexican hot pepper that usually is only found in Mexico. Service was 5 stars! Very attentive & kind! Priced really well too. I will be back.

Seafood restaurant
Boathouse on the Bay is an upscale bar and eatery located on Alamitos Bay in Los Angeles. The restaurant offers stunning water views and a serene ambiance, allowing diners to enjoy fresh seafood and succulent prime steaks while overlooking the peaceful Pacific. Guests can experience al fresco dining with sailing lofts ambiance as they cool off on the grand deck with fresh breezes from the picturesque horizon. The restaurant features live music five nights a week, adding to its relaxed atmosphere.
Dining at The Boathouse on the Bay was a wonderful experience. The restaurant’s setting is stunning—waterfront views that make you want to linger long after the meal. It’s the kind of place that feels both elevated and relaxed, perfect for a special night out. The food held up beautifully to the atmosphere: • Lobster Mac and Cheese (9/10): rich, creamy, and indulgent with fresh lobster throughout. The flavors balanced well without being overly heavy. • Caramelized Brussels Sprouts (10/10): perfectly roasted with a slight crisp, sweet yet savory, easily one of the highlights of the meal. • Boathouse Wagyu Burger (8.5/10): the quality of the meat stood out—juicy, well-seasoned, and served hot. While the burger itself was excellent, the fries felt a bit underwhelming in comparison and didn’t add much to the dish. The atmosphere was enhanced by a live band playing timeless classics, which made the dining experience feel even more special and memorable. Paired with the waterfront views, it created a relaxed yet elevated vibe that’s hard to beat. Beyond the food and music, the service was attentive and welcoming, making the entire evening seamless. Watching the sunset over the water while enjoying good food and live music is something I’d highly recommend. This is a place you come for both the flavors and the atmosphere, and it delivers on both.

I wanted to love this place, but the service and upkeep missed the mark. The vibe is very casual and it's not the cleanest place. Someone said the crowd is trendy and I disagree, but the views are nice. I had the seabass and it was delicious, but slow. Unfortunately, our waitress really did not care to help us at all and this was probably the biggest disappointment. I had to ask someone for silverware and later I went to the bar myself for water because our waitress vanished until we eventually were able to flag her down to pay and leave.

This is a relaxing by the shore restaurant. This restaurant has some of the most beautiful views of the water and amazing sunsets. Haley was our server. The food was delicious and served with a proper portion. The cocktails 🍹 were also mixed well and not over priced. They also have an awesome happy hour from 4pm to 6pm. Service was fast and Parking is free. This is a trendy crowd. This is a great date night restaurant or to come watch a game. TV’s are visible from the patio area. The patio has heaters as well at a fire pit area. There is a neat area with neon signs for a picture perfect photo.

Ordered their fish and chips, standard middle of the road fish and chips. Nothing bad and doesn’t stand out. Also got their lemon drop roll, that was pretty tasty. For a Wednesday evening their patio was packed and very noisy. Great view of the marina.

Amazing place to celebrate! 🎉 Cozy patio, great vibe with live music, and we caught happy hour with delicious Passion Fruit Margaritas 🍹. The food was outstanding — from clam chowder to lobster tail pasta — and they even surprised us with a cheesecake for the birthday. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
LILIANA M — Google review
We had a reservation for 4 on Friday evening. We were sat right away on a booth closest to the water. Our server Jeff came right away and took our drink order. The $17 margaritas were just ok, nothing out of this world. The $24 calamari were almost burnt and the portion not worth it. It seems like the oil needs to be changed in the deep fryer. Our food was decent but a nice hot salsa would compliment the fish tacos a lot better than Tapatio or Pico de gallo. The cinnamon cheesecake was OK, a little too sweet and very expensive. The experience was OK overall but the price for what they are serving is just too much. We won't be rushing back any time soon. Maybe to check out happy hour with the deals. Where a margarita is $10 instead of $17. I do have to admit the location is nice but charge what you want but give the customer something worth your charge. Just my thoughts...

So many people eating here… and a nice place. Their free sour bread appetizers are good… we ordered fish and chips for tita rose and tito jeff, club sandwich for aron and i ordered their black taco. The ambiance is great and by the sea… but the noise was a bit loud and hard time hearing each other. They have clean rest rooms.
Magilas S — Google review
My boyfriend and I were here recently. I wanted to take him somewhere really nice for his birthday. Everything was great, except his Alaskan King Crab dinner. It came with one claw "cut in half" garlic mashed potatoes, with vegetables. The Crab was over steamed, and the cost was $95.00 for such a "small portion". It wasn't enough to even share his crab. He still wanted me to taste it. I ordered the fish and chips, and my portion size was sharable! That was really good, along with the clam chowder. His dinner was disappointing being overcooked, and I felt overcharged. There was a live band and a wonderful view.
