Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Cosby, Carver's Orchard & Applehouse Restaurant is a beloved destination for both locals and visitors. This charming establishment has been a staple since the 1940s, showcasing over 40,000 apple trees with an impressive array of 126 varieties. The orchard not only offers fresh apples but also features an inviting restaurant that serves up delicious American comfort food alongside unique apple-based dishes. Guests can indulge in farm-fresh goodies while enjoying the serene surroundings.
Man great home cooking just a short 35 to 45 minute beautiful drive from Gatlinburg and you find this wonderful little restaurant and orchard. Staff is super friendly and willing to offer suggestions. I had the chicken and dumplings and they put the CB place on notice with how good these were. The chicken strips my fiancé had were fresh and wonderful. The sides also so good they old be a main course!!!

We TOTALLY regret no going the last 3 years we've past it!! The food was sooooo good!!! Plus they have fruit, jellies & homemade little apple pies next to the restaurant. We WILL BE BACK!❤️❤️ I must have forgotten to take pics of the food🤦‍♀️

Home style food: Great view of orchards out the window...oh and !Grass Fed Butter On The Table!! Note: I came back and added to this review. my waitress was Fantastic! She was kind. When I sat down I told her I had a headache and she offered me some over the counter medication in a bottle. However in contrast. when it was time to check out I took my slip to the cashier at least I headed there. I was about 8-10 ft from the register when this dark haired woman about 58 yrs old 5 ft tall, heavy set & wearing a black T-shirt that said something mean on it Yelled "Don't come up here!" very loudly very rudely . She was at the register I was ready to leave & there was no line. So I sat down and waited. I don't know why she thought she could scold me. :( Rudeness is never okay. it takes nothing to be kind ..

Love this place. Sugar free salt water taffy available. Always a great selection of nuts and vegetables and fruits. Will continue to make this a stop while passing through Tennessee

We have stopped in several times for the food and also stopped in to get fresh fruits and veggies. The ladies are always so kind and give my youngest and apple and he just thinks they are the sweetest ❤️

It has been 10yrs since I'd eaten here last. I had fried pork chops and they were a good size, with apples and green beans. Got the Chicken & Dumplings to go. Of course I had the Cake donuts with apple butter and didn't mind paying $6, times have changed. Everything was good.

Farm
Smoky Mountain Llama Treks offers a unique hiking experience in the stunning Smoky Mountains, where you can explore scenic trails accompanied by friendly and professionally trained llamas. With options for hour-long or two-hour hikes, as well as a farm visit/petting zoo for those who prefer not to hike, there's an outdoor adventure suitable for everyone. Located in Cosby, this trekking experience provides the opportunity to walk with llamas through picturesque mountain landscapes while creating unforgettable memories.
10/10 experience. My husband was looking for things to do on our honeymoon and came across Llama Treks, we had an amazing time and it was definitely a highlight of our trip! We’ll never forget this experience and recommend it to everyone we know. The llamas are so sweet and cute. He also has 2 alpacas and a guanaco! If you love animals and a unique experience I highly recommend, can be a solo event or with a group. Thanks again Steve!
Samantha R — Google review
Leaving this review here to encourage people not to believe or trust the ones from over a year ago. Steve the owner was AMAZING. As was every part of this hike. Yes he will talk about Chuck Norris and Navy Seals a lot and if he hadn’t there would have been awkward silence. Llamas are working animals and also very sassy stubborn animals so yes—you may have to pull them a bit to get them to walk but that’s the nature of llamas in general. Especially teenage ones like Dali Llama. There was a 6-7 year old girl who took Jelly (baby llama/alpaca) who did this hike very well. Steve has spent a lot of time updating the trails to be more accessible and safe—while they are steep they were perfect for children and older adults too. Steve sells graham crackers to feed the llamas as well. You can tell the llamas are well cared for and trust Steve by the way they get close to him and allow him to touch their face etc. They were well groomed and everything possible was set in place to get rid of the flies and keep them hydrated. As someone who goes to the smoky mountains a lot this is now a MUST DO if you’re ever close to Gatlinburg. Absolutely loved the property, every llama and Steve’s stories. 10/10!
Caitlin D — Google review
Our hike was fabulous!!! The owner was so kind and told lots of great stories during our hike. The llamas truly were easier to walk than a dog! I would highly recommend downloading your map ahead of time if using GPS! We will definitely be returning customers!
Melissa S — Google review
My husband and I are visiting TN for a getaway and discovered the llama trek through google and as animal lovers and hiking enthusiasts, we knew we had to do this. I read through the reviews and I can tell you, the few negative ones are absolutely untrue of our experience…we have nothing but positives to say. The property is wonderful, the animals are well cared for, the hike is easy and super fun, and 1hr to 1.5hrs is the perfect amount of time. The llamas are so sweet! You get to meet them all and pick the one you want and then you get to hear their back story. The owners daughter was our guide and she is just the sweetest. My advice is to come prepared to hike with good shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy, an extra pair of clothes/shoes to change into afterwards if you plan on going anywhere else, and a trash bag to put your shoes in. We went after it had rained but it’s always good to come prepared with extra shoes;) Such a fun and unique experience. We LOVED it!
Megan H — Google review
We went on the llama trek today as a part of my wife’s birthday weekend and had an amazing time! The llamas are very easy to walk with and Steve does a great job explaining what to expect as well as going over their backgrounds. He’s also got a lot of very interesting stories to share about his past and who he’s met along the way. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for an activity that’s not the typical touristy Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge thing. Thanks for a great afternoon Steve!
Tim N — Google review
A very unique experience off the beaten path from the tourist trap of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Llamas were docile, cute and good companions. Hike is through a path in the woods that only has Moderate uphill and downhill climbs. The owner Steve teaches about Llamas and tells a great life story about how he came to be in the Llamas business. Highly recommended if you have kids or just want something completely different from the norm!
Dan P — Google review
Steve is an awesome host with wonderful stories and a great person to take you on a hike! We had so much fun and the llamas were adorable. I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Smoky Mountain Llama Treks on your next visit to Gatlinburg. It will be the highlight of your trip!!

RT Yard Art offers a diverse selection of various pieces, ensuring that there is something to suit everyone's preferences. The prices are reasonable and the service provided by friendly staff is excellent. This place is highly recommended for anyone passing through the Smokies as it boasts an intriguing and extensive range of yard figures. However, it should be noted that some items may be overpriced compared to what would be considered appropriate.
He had a verity of different pieces. So I'm sure you would find something for everyone's taste and his prices weren't bad.

Nifty place with a intersting selection. Prices are ok, still lots of smaller statues are reasonable. Lots of confederate metal yard art not found elsewhere. Plus all your common statues, fountains, etc. We got a few pieces, well worth the scenic drive.

We've purchased multiple pieces from The Smokey Mountain Bearfoot Carvers. Not only do they create stunning carvings, but they are also some of the friendliest people you'll meet. Looking forward to visiting their store again and expanding our collection! We love our 'Welcome Bear' and he is the perfect edition to the front deck!
Ashli P — Google review
This guy is the nicest you'll find to do business with. Very artistic, explains how he carved the pieces you're interested in, knows the type of wood and just an all around good guy. Great selection. Bought a bear and cedar plaque and the craftsmanship sold us. All bears have different faces and the one I chose said 'take me home'. So I am. Enjoyed our visit, Raye! We'll be back! But if we miss you, we wish you many blessings in your great talent and next adventure!

This is the best place around to find high quality wooden carvings. The workmanship in their artwork is above the rest, and the knowledge they share about each individual piece will keep us coming back for years to come. Each and every piece they had was simply beautiful in its own way. And the way they can draw the character out of each piece of wood is something you just cannot find at the other places. Worth the drive to experience this beautiful little shop!

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Cosmic Ties today! As a local, I can't believe I've only visited once before, but this gem of a shop has gained a repeat customer, I'm going to bring all of my friends from out of state that visit here. I was showing a friend from Georgia the mountains from Foothills Parkway and we decided to stop here, and it was a fantastic time! The owner, Craig, is a joy to chat with and on my previous visit, I met his wonderful wife, Gigi, whose tie-dye creations are nothing short of art. The shop is a treasure trove of high-quality, vibrant tie-dye clothing, alongside an array of local artistry. From paintings and journals to jewelry, there's something unique at every turn. Being an opossum enthusiast, I was thrilled to find adorable opossum earrings handcrafted by a local artist. I also couldn't resist a stunning crystal that found its perfect home in my 20-gallon fish tank. I recommend Cosmic Ties to everyone. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to visit this unique shop. The owners' warmth and the eclectic selection will make you a regular visitor, just like me. Next time I head to the Smokies for a hike, a stop at Cosmic Ties is a must!
Cary D — Google review
Gigi was absolutely wonderful! She took the time to show me how to create designs on tie-dyes and was so patient and kind throughout the process. Her tie-dyes were amazing — full of color and creativity — and she shared great conversation that made the experience even more enjoyable. I really appreciated her guidance and friendly personality. Highly recommend her work!

Super cute shop. The owners are great folks who work with local artists to bring you some fantastic pieces. The tye dyes are beautifully done. Well worth a peek inside. Don't miss the giant mushroom garden out front for a great photo op.

This place is so cute and if you’re a peace and love individual then it’s worth a stop by. They make their own items and also sell items from local artists and other small businesses. I got me a cute lil rose quart pendulum and a Smokey quarts crystal. As well as a peace sign car sticker. They have clothes and tapestries. So many beautiful crystals and homemade soaps and candles. And miss Barbara was such a sweetie. 💕 If I come back to Tennessee, I’m buying a tapestry!

Docs 321 Cafe & Marketplace is a unique and charming spot to enjoy a homestyle meal or delicious BBQ. The cafe is housed in a converted school bus, adding to its quirky and fun atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of options, from ribs to homemade chili, as well as vegetarian choices like veggie burgers. Everything is made from scratch, ensuring fresh and tasty dishes.
Popped in for a late lunch and found friendly people, excellent service and nice tasty food. I hand the chilli beans and they were excellent. All the food was freshly made and everyone left happy. Potato salad and club sandwich were also very popular. Enjoy

Stopped in for dinner. Food portions are very generous! Food was delicious. We weren’t sure at first what to expect but this converted bus to restaurant was so neat. Definitely a hidden gem. The waitress we had was so pleasant and attentive. Younger girl who definitely added to our experience. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and made good recommendations. If we get back down would stop here again.

Diner
Breakfast restaurant
Janice's Diner is a pleasant eatery known for its delicious homemade meals. The food arrives promptly and piping hot, while the friendly and accommodating waitress adds to the welcoming atmosphere. One of their main offerings is the Mushroom and Swiss burger, which comes with a choice of one side. However, some customers feel that the macaroni tasted like pre-packaged processed Mac and cheese, resembling banquet-style fare. Additionally, the burger itself lacks flavor, resembling a plain watered-down version.
Just had the most wonderful breakfast at Janice’s. This restaurant has been recommended to me numerous times and I’m so glad I was able to go. We had a delicious breakfast - the food came quickly and was hot. The staff was kind, welcoming, and made us feel at home. The owner and our waitress found out my fiancé and I had gotten engaged this weekend, and not only did they congratulate us, but they gave us dessert on the house! We got the last piece of cherry chocolate chip poke cake and it was INCREDIBLE. The banana pudding was fantastic, too. Definitely stop by Janice’s - you won’t regret it!

It is a proper Southern restaurant that feels and tastes like your grandmother was in the kitchen and made the sweat tea on the stove! It was incredible!!! Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Roamstead Smoky Mountains Campground, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Hen Wallow Falls. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

Campground
Nestled in the northeastern border of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Roamstead Smoky Mountains Campground is located in a quaint town with a rich history as the former Moonshine Capital of the World. This serene and less-visited area offers a beautiful valley for visitors to explore. Guests have praised the campground for its cleanliness and well-maintained grounds, along with clean cabins that offer picturesque views of the creek.
This was our family’s first time camping, and we couldn’t have picked a better place than Roamstead! We stayed in one of the yurts, and it was spotless, spacious, and perfect for our family of four. There was plenty of room for two adults and two kids to relax comfortably. The campground was easy to walk around, and everything we needed was close by- clean bathrooms, a fun playground for the kids, a pavilion, and a cozy lobby with a small store offering coffee and food. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We also loved that there were tons of games available, both board games and lawn games, there was always something fun to do together. We highly recommend Roamstead to anyone looking for a clean, family-friendly, and relaxing camping experience. We can’t wait to come back!
Rachel L — Google review
The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We got there a day early and they accommodated us on a different site. We were grateful. I will say that we have a 39' 5th wheel and it literally took us 30 mins to get in our new site. Our original site would have been much easier, but I share this to let any bigger rigs be aware. Yes, our original site would better accommodate and I saw maybe 2 or 3 other doable sites, but big rigs be aware that this campground is tight with trees and boulders affecting your turn ability. The entry was also a bit confusing. Better labeled signs rather than simply "Entrance" would be helpful. If it's your 1st time, you'll see what Im talking about. And lastly, wifi was Non-existent. Even our 2nd and 3rd days when we were basically the only ones in campground. We are definitely outdoor people. But at night, or in this case a rainy day, you'd expect and appreciate some tv. Zero channels and constant buffering while streaming. It was a nicely kept campground and roughly 30 mins to Gatlinburg. And we backed up to creek which was nice.
Steve J — Google review
We brought a friend camping with us this weekend and had an absolute blast! Roamstead truly has it going on when it comes to campgrounds in the Smokies. From the moment you walk into the lodge, you’re greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality — and grabbing a cocktail after setting up camp felt like the perfect way to settle in. The location couldn’t be better. Access to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is literally just steps from your campsite, making it effortless to explore the trails and take in the natural beauty all around. On Saturday night, Roamstead had the Tennessee game playing, costume contests for the kids, and trick-or-treating — all of which we had an absolute blast participating in. Their pizzas were delicious, their complimentary drip coffee in the mornings had two non–coffee drinkers coming back for more cups, and breakfast was just as tasty. The fact that everything we needed was right there — food, drinks, and fun — made the whole experience so relaxing. The camp “store” deserves a shoutout of its own — incredible merchandise, the coolest logos, and a perfect reflection of Roamstead’s vibe. What really stands out, though, is Roamstead’s focus on togetherness in the outdoors. They’ve created a space where campers can connect through shared experiences while still appreciating nature in their own way — whether you’re staying in a tent, RV, yurt, or cabin. I was lucky enough to meet Shannon, the owner, during our stay and spent a long while chatting about hospitality, the industry after the storm, and the heart behind this special place. She and her team have definitely earned a couple of lifetime fans who will absolutely be back again. This was the trip that made us realize how much we truly love camping — and Roamstead will always hold a special place in our hearts.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Alec our stay was wonderful! The property hosts, Carol, Alec, Cindy and Abree are friendly, courteous, professional and just a delight to deal with. From the food, to the accommodations, access to trails and amenities made for a perfect stay. The other campers were welcoming and friendly. This is the perfect spot for a family adventure or a quiet and beautiful get away. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience, it was perfection! We will definitely be returning, this is our new “Go to” spot for our annual Autumn vacation. See you soon, Roamstead!

My "room" was my tent on by the creek! Everyone was extremely willing and helpful to make my 2nd stay even better than my first. I enjoyed my first trip so much, I reserved a tent site with electricity at my site and a community bathroom just steps away from my tent two weeks later. There is a community feel at this campground. The noise level was minimal but you could hear happy laughter and kids planning another creek walk adventure. The shower was just a short walk from my site. I always had hot water but I did hear one lady comment, she had come later one evening and the water was cold. The showers and bathroom stall were clean. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is also a hair dryer there for everyone to use. The pavilion is beautiful with a gorgeous stone fireplace and comfy seats to gather around. In the lodge there is a menu...limited... I heard the food was good. Breakfast is provided to guests in the lodge. They offer pizza. I didn't try it so I can't help you there. There are good places to eat within a 15/20 drive. Of course you can drive into Gatlinburg or further out to Pigeon Forge. I am considered a "local"... It took me about 35 minutes to drive there. It was my first tent camping trip alone. The guys that work the grounds were kind and offered help if I needed it. Roamstead is a campground you might seriously give a chance if you're planning a Great Smoky Mountains trip!

We stayed in a tent spot this time, the reason I didn’t rate the “room.” We have stayed in the cabins before and they are wonderful. The property is beautiful and right now decorated a little spooky for Halloween - which my kids loved! 👻 Surrounded by flowing creeks and backs to to the park with hiking trails accessible. My kids loved exploring around, playing on the playgrounds and while we missed these due to timing, the staff had awesome activities/crafts for guest. The lodge is awesome with great snack, souvenir, menu and drink options and staff is so helpful and kind! The location is awesome too, you can be in gatlinburg in short drive, access the park, and plenty of small market options nearby. This is our second time at Roamstead and we will def be back! Highly recommend.

We too our family to Roamstead for a short fall break getaway. It was absolutely perfect. We have 3 boys, and I wasn’t sure if the cabin would be large enough for us. But it sure was. Comfortable, spacious and adorable. The grounds have fun activities, hiking and plenty to do for our kids and dog. Can’t recommend this place enough. The staff was friendly and so accommodating!

It’s an ok place. The website makes the lots and overall size of the place look bigger than it really is. It’s very close to the road so it’s pretty noisy. Other campers were a problem. People chopping wood and hammering something until about 1030-11 pm. Sunday morning someone was hammering something metal at 830 am. The women’s bathroom/showers were gross. Other people hair everywhere just wasn’t great. Not awful but it great. Def not worth the price we paid. There are so many campgrounds around we wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The people working here were super nice though. Great service just overpriced for what you get. Kind of far from everything, which is ok if that’s what you want. We just figured since it was further out it would be quieter.

Tennessee Readiness, also known as The Prepper Store and AT Resupply, is a fantastic camping store with a wide selection of prepping items. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about all the products they offer. The store is well-stocked with everything you need for hiking and camping trips. They even have a front porch with rocking chairs where you can relax. Customers highly recommend stopping by this great little store to check out their great selections and excellent pricing.
Huge selection of fun outdoor gadgets, food, and wellness products in a little store. The owner is super knowledgeable about everything in the shop and she is incredibly kind! We were in the shop for about an hour just looking at things and talking. It was an awesome stop. We live off grid but we don’t really keep up with all the products they have these days for living the way we do. Highly recommend this shop for everyone from advanced off grid to people who are just curious about fun camping products. So thankful we stopped in! And the boiled peanuts being sold out front are DELICIOUS.

Nestled along the main road to Cosby, Baxter's Orchard is a charming family-owned gem that has been delighting visitors for over fifty years. Open from early September through late November, this orchard boasts an impressive selection of apples, ranging from the classic Red Delicious to unique varieties like Stayman Winesap and Rome Beauty. Not only can you pick up fresh apples at great prices, but you can also indulge in their freshly pressed cider made right from their own fruit.
The store is located along the main road to Cosby. I’ve only visited the farmer’s store, which seemed well equipped with a lot of different types of apples. In addition, Baxter’s Orchard makes their own preserves, including apple preserve with no added sugar. I was able to buy here honey. Apparently, in this area, nobody carries honey bees due to black bears. Honey is imported from the beekeeper in Asheville, NC. I haven’t tried it yet, but will update soon. The staff were extremely polite and friendly.

Great selection of fresh apples, at low prices. I love cherry jelly and is hard to find some that is good, and I found it here! If i knew I would've liked it this much I would have bought several jars. Very friendly staff that told us about their farm. I will be back.

Drove by today to check out the place. Appears to be closed. A guy was mowing the grass in the orchard, but otherwise, no signs of life.

Coffee shop
Our Place Books, Coffees, Unique Gifts is a charming bookstore nestled in the scenic Cosby, TN. It offers an extensive collection of over 100,000 new, used, and rare books across various genres with a focus on nonfiction titles. In addition to books, the store features organic fair trade coffees and an array of unique local souvenirs such as handcrafted soaps, teddy bears, and locally made items.
Crazy good bookstore!!! We could have spent half the day here poking around the shop, but limited ourselves to about an hour. It has a great selection of new and used books at very reasonable prices and is full to the gills of unusual finds. If you like books and are anywhere near the store (we were staying in Gatlinburg), it’s worth the drive, which is beautiful. You may have to ask where to find them, but they have a large selection of photographic history books by Arcadia Publishing, including ones for Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Smoky Mountains National Park. If you’re into regional history, they are great. The shop also has nice gifts, an excellent children’s section, and $1.00 stickers.

Definitely an incredible place to visit for books, CDs, vinyl, stickers, trinkets, or pretty much any unique things you may want. We were greeted by a kind lady who made delicious drinks for my whole family. I personally got an iced matcha latte with lavender. I found some modern music and enjoyed exploring the quirks of this little shop. Wish I had more places like this back at home.

I always make time to stop in and visit here when I’m in Gatlinburg. There’s great coffee & tons of different flavors to choose from to make it fun, and you will seriously get lost in here looking for your next book. Here’s a picture from my most recent haul: LOTS of poetry this time around as well as “Tender is the Flesh” and a Faux Leather copy of “The Handmaids Tale.” Plenty of games, jewelry, some toys, shirts, earth soaps that smell divine, and SO much more. Definitely worth the stop.

Fantastic little shop with rows of meticulously alphabetized books, reasonably priced crystals, and coffee so good I didn't need sweetener. I'm glad I stumbled upon this gem, and I could spend many more hours there if I lived closer!

It's not a trip to the Smokies without stopping here. This place has a little bit of everything. From books (of course) to some of the best smelling soaps, to hard to find games and toys. The coffee here is amazing as well. We love stopping to talk with the owner, who has watched our son grow up over the years. Smoky Mountain Adventure Tours provides thrilling off-road experiences in the Smokies, featuring UTV tours with side-by-side seating. The main tour takes participants through dense forests and natural surroundings near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a duration of two to two and a half hours. Customers have praised the incredible trails and mountain drive, as well as the exceptional customer service provided by knowledgeable guides. The tour is suitable for all experience levels, offering great instructions for a safe and enjoyable adventure.
After much research on the different off road tour companies in the area, we decided to book with Smoky Mountain Adventure Tours as a Christmas gift for my husband, two kids (16,11) and myself. My husband drove and I rode in the back. It was so much fun! Our guide was great, the off-roading was awesome, the scenic views were amazing, and even the drive to and from was fun and interesting. I would recommend this company to anyone, you will not be disappointed! Also, stop by the moonshine store, friendly staff, and delicious spirits!

Fun trails, awesome views, and a great time with Kelly! 👍 Distillery tour & then buying a slushy to enjoy while hanging out with our new Jeep friends was just the cherry on top!

We had a blast on this tour! Hands down would do it again and highly recommend for a great adventure. Staff and guides were great, equipment was excellent, and overall just phenomenal experience. Jess was fantastic and gave good instructions. Some of the ups and downs seem intimidating, but soooo fun! The views are amazing, and the midpoint stop was just gorgeous!

This whole experience is absolutely amazing, the trails, the drive through the mountains are incredible. However the customer service is amazing we got to know our guide and could have stay at the top and talked for hours. This was the best start to our anniversary weekend getaway. We had drove on at 3:30am and only had 4 hours of sleep before we did this tour and it was nothing short of amazing all the way around. We even talked bout local restaurants which we went and grabbed lunch from and that was so good as well. We even got to go to the distillery co and loved it as well. We got to meet the owner Kelly and he was so down to earth and took time away from what he was doing to have a conversation with us. These guys and gals made our trip extra special. I plan to recommend this to all our friends and family who love off roading just as much as us! You don’t want to miss out on this amazing experience.

If you like going off-road with steep trails, backwoods and Smoky Mountain views, this is it. Forget those pretty Jeep sightseeing tours where you sit in the back; there's no comparison. This is real trail riding where you drive up to three of your friends in very capable vehicles that are purpose built for off-road. Our guide was great, the trails were steep with many great views and fortunately it was muddy from heavy rain the night before making it that much better. Definitely recommended and will do again if ever return to the area.

We rented two buggies. It was a total blast! Worth every penny. We will definitely be back! Strongly recommend this place. The staff is amazing. Ask for Jack, he was our guide and he did an amazing job! He was very knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions. Plus he gave us a heck of a ride. Most amazing scenery. Don't hesitate, book your ride today before they fill up!

Wow! We have been on a few different UTV adventures and this experience was by far the best. The equipment was in excellent condition. The location is an easy/quick drive from Gatlinburg. The trail was so much fun. Some serious hills and turns with a guide on the lead to keep us safe. We will be doing this again. The boys loved it as well: from 4 to 9 years of age. This is not the average rent a UTV to drive around town, but a real off road 4x4 experience in the mountain terrain. Thanks for the great experience!
Craig T — Google review
My wife and I took the tour. It was 2-1/2 hours long and our guide was great. It was well worth the money. We travelled by roads for about 15 minutes before hitting the trail. Once we hit the trails, we put it into 4wd Low and went up the mountain. The trails were pretty steep grades up and down. As an ATV owner, I do a lot of trail riding, but this was a whole other level. We went to the top, about 2,200 ft and stopped to take a break. We took some pictures of the awesome views before going back down and making our way back. I also got to use my GoPro to capture the footage. I would definitely recommend this tour! You will not be disappointed!

Hen Wallow Falls is a stunning 90-foot waterfall located in the Cosby area of the park. The hike to reach it takes you through a lush forest filled with hemlock, rhododendron, and old-growth hardwoods. The trail offers an opportunity to see the aftermath of flash flooding and high wind events that occurred in recent years.
I would say this is a moderately difficult hike. Going there is harder than coming back. The difficulty makes it a lot less crowded. There is plenty of parking. The payoff is more than worth the trek!

We were staying in a Pigeon Forge and looking for a destination that wasn't so touristy so we decided to take a short drive out to the falls. Nice picnic area. Bathrooms were not opened yet which was a surprise as it was mid-March. About an hour hike to the falls. Did get a little tricky towards the end with a narrower path and it was a bit slick. The view was beautiful. Nice large picnic area.
Janelle B — Google review
We parked at Cosby Picnic area parking A and took Gabe’s mountain trail to Hen Wallow Falls. Beautiful hike with log bridges but heavy incline until you hit the waterfall. It was a challenging hike at the end but worth the reward.
Alex C — Google review
This trail is a total of 4.4 miles to the falls and back. Definitely a moderate leaning towards hard as the terrain is very rocky/ lots of tree roots. Lots of elevation as well on the way to the falls. There are a few log bridges that were fun to cross. The last part to get to the falls is pretty steep and lots of roots. The trail is well marked. We saw quite a bit of flora and the falls were quite beautiful. Not a lot of other hikers which was nice. The parking lot is large as it's also a picnic area, so plenty of spaces. There is a restroom as well near the picnic tables.
Nicole — Google review
Beautiful and moderately challenging day hike! In my opinion, one of the nicest trails in the park. I liked the elevation challenge and the fact that there were few other groups hiking on a Saturday, and those were all somewhat experienced hikers with excellent trail etiquette. We made it out and back in about 4.5 hours with a 3 year old.
Caitlin R — Google review
The trail is 85% uphill on the way to the falls, with a lot of roots and rocks. Hard, but wonderful to be a part of. The last tenth of a mile is a steep downward climb, but pays off with Hen Wallow Falls! It’s cool and refreshing. Unfortunately, you have to climb back up to get back on the trail! It’s very strenuous but the rest is literally downhill from there. Great trail! Worth the pain!
Munson X — Google review
Beautiful 90 foot falls surrounded by boulders and wild flowers, at least in July. The hike is a bit on the harder side due to elevation gain combined with the trail is largely rock and tree roots. Be prepared for uneven footing throughout the hike. I'd wear boots. We saw many unique mushrooms, lots of butterflies and beautiful flora at the falls and on the way. Would recommend this hike!
Tina S — Google review
Its a pretty hike. If you are a not in good shape I wouldn't do it. We had to turn around after a mile because I couldn't do it. I ran out of breathe and couldn't do it even trying to pace myself. I cried. It was embarrassing. My husband and kids though were doing very well and could have made it though and there were several other hikers of all ages we met that hiked it just fine. All of which looked in much better shape than me.

Sandwich shop
This sandwich shop is a casual counter-serve chain that offers customizable sandwiches and salads. They have a range of health-conscious options to choose from. The establishment is locally owned and operated, allowing customers to conveniently order online for pickup or simply drop in for their food. The quality of the food here is consistently on par with what one would expect from a Subway restaurant. The staff members are always friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring a pleasant experience for customers.
This place is locally owned and operated. I can order online and pick up or I can drop in and get my food. The quality has always been what I expect from a subway, the staff is always friendly, and I know my purchase keeps dollars in my local economy. It's a win all around if I'm not looking to drive all the way to town for a fast meal.
Spring D — Google review
We were on vacation for July 4th and had our day spoiled by their rude behavior this is the worst subway experience ever, they don’t know how to talk to customers. They don’t listen to what we have to say. They even don’t like if we ask to change the gloves and talk to us in rude manner saying I did not touch any meat.

So i go here all the time and I've never had this issue. Tell me why my Flatbread is the size of a 6 inch because they are rolling it like a taco and using less that a footlong worth of stuff but I'm getting charged for a footlong. And the lady was super rude.

Everyone who works here is great with the exception of the lady who was working today 9/10/23 at 1:40pm. This lady is always rude. I honestly don’t understand it. She is always miserable and down right rude. Her sandwich making skills are horrible and messy. I’m a local and eat here regularly and she is the only one who is like this. Best subway experience of my life. The ladies sang happy birthday to me and made my sandwich so well. Very pleasant people to be around and very efficient. Special shout out to Anna for making me smile!
Andrew P — Google review
I love when any other person but Lexi makes my sandwiches. I work near here so I frequent this location a lot(love Christy and I think her name is Andrea and Anna so that’s why there’s an added star). Lexi just has the nastiest attitude every time I come in. Her sandwich making skills are not up to par. The can’t even lay bacon correctly along the sandwich. Every time she makes my sandwich it is never toasted all the way through.
Mandy S — Google review
Went to get sandwiches on July 8th evening around 8:15. I was the only customer in there. The nice and friendly lady started taking my order (had four sandwiches) and we were having a lovely conversation. She had barely started the second one, and a huge group of people came in, probably around 20 or more. She smiled at them and said I’ll be with you shortly. Now in most of my experiences, the Subway workers start getting mad and angry that so many people are in line, but not her! She made my sandwiches with care and didn’t throw the stuff in there! She careful laid them out and made the sandwiches with precision! Her coworker came in and started helping make sandwiches and both had an amazing attitude! Cutting up and joking with everyone! We will definitely be coming back to get a meal from them when we are in town again!
Momma H — Google review
Seems like no matter what the posted hours are, the workers always have an excuse why they are closed. My favorite was after I was asked if I had a mobile order (they were open for those) but closed for someone literally standing in front of them a half hour before closing. We all work for a living and have to deal with the same issues. You aren't special. Do your job. If you think your work life is too hard, try starving. I'm not here to support your lack of basic adult responsibility.

D J's Market & Deli in Cosby is a surprising find for those exploring the area. Despite its unassuming appearance, this spot offers delicious late-night food options, including an amazing cheesesteak that left visitors impressed. The staff is known for being incredibly friendly and helpful, and the deli at the back of the market exceeds expectations with its quality offerings. The prices are reasonable, and there is a wide selection of drinks available.
My car was convinced that this market was the road I needed (idk either). Luckily they have good food that I needed for the trip!

Moved to Cosby recently and everything closes early around here, found this place on my way to Gatlinburg to buy a couple lottery tickets he did not have the scan tickets so you had to call out your numbers as he input the numbers. Also, you have to listen to the Indian gentleman behind the counter very closely because his accent is extremely thick. I then asked if they were still making food out of the kitchen in the back and he was trying to clean up and close, but made a sandwich for me anyway. I got the Philly steak cheese and it was very filling. Would I call it the best Philly steak that I’ve had no, would I call call it the best Philly steak in the area -close. Far better than Brock’s market in Newport. But not as good as Joe and Pops in Gatlinburg. A true Philly steak the cheese melts to a liquid form with the juice of the meat. This cheese pretty much was thick on top of the meat, and took away from the beautiful flavor of the meat. There was a ton of meat and I was full half way through. The thing that I absolutely did not like is after I grabbed my food and left, a young lady, came out to tell me that I forgot to tip the cook. My belief is I’m not gonna tip the cook unless I know the food is good. Will I be back? Yes I also had fried mushrooms. They were great. While they did not have cocktail sauce for their deep-fried mushrooms. They didn’t have some kind of orange sauce that was pretty good. I’m sure they make other sandwiches that I’m willing to try.

The Magnolia Tree is a charming restaurant nestled in the Smokey Mountains, known for its delicious hand-breaded catfish dinner and brisket dinner. The menu offers plenty of options to choose from, ensuring there's something for everyone. Visitors appreciate the owner, Debbie's kind and attentive service, as well as the precautions taken during the pandemic. Guests can enjoy their meals at picnic tables outside and indulge in some delightful ice cream.
Little gem in Smokey Mountains. Locals know best indeed! Had an absolutely awesome food and great desert. Bathroom was clean and the staff was very friendly!

Debbie, the owner, took our order and was very kind. My hubby ordered the hand-breaded catfish dinner and I had the brisket dinner. Both were delicious! Plenty of options on the menu too. They are taking precautions with the pandemic, which is greatly appreciated! We enjoyed our dinner at one of the picnic tables provided outside and then treated ourselves with some yummy ice cream. I’d definitely recommend stopping by!

The Magnolia Tree is one of those restaurants that if you are not looking for it, you can easily pass it by without notice. This quaint place is tucked away just slightly off the road in a slope along US 321. It's like a TARDIS in it's own right as the inside is definitely bigger than it looks in the parking lot. Inside you will find a restaurant to the left, ice cream shop in front, & gift store to the right & straight back. Service was slow but not terrible. I am fairly certain that there may have been three to four people total running the entire place while we were there which might explain the speed of things. The food itself was alright. It was like any other country cooking I have eaten at other southern places with prices just slightly higher than them. It's a cute place to stop in at but not something I see myself returning to in the near future. Note: Wait to be seated & Pay at the front

Great find! Small, hole in the wall type place! This family owned restaurant and store are serving up not only tasty, HOME MADE food, but also hospitality like no other! Stopped by on the way from Gatlinburg to my home town in South Carolina and I couldn't have asked for better food or service! I love the little ordering window and the decor! A must stop if you're looking for a LOCAL gem!

This place is very tasty with a great staff and great prices. The food is fresh. My daughter's cheeseburger was the best cheeseburger I have ever had. The hot dogs were great. Very tasty. Drive from Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg to eat here!

We love this little restaurant. And the owners are the best. This is a small family owned restaurant. I always try to support local, American owned & operated small businesses. Within a couple visits you will feel like family. The country decorations is very creative & tastefully done. There is also a s little gift shop with a section for local products. (within 20 miles) We visit the Smoky's every year. Each time we are there we are there we make at least one trip out to Cosby to the Magnolia Tree. I usually order a Reuben. They make a great one. This restaurant is popular with whitewater rafters, and motorcycle riders.

Don’t hesitate to stop at the Magnolia Tree restaurant! We’re staying in Cosby this weekend for our children’s birthday celebration with the grands. After spending the morning hiking Peterson Loop we were all famished. We happened upon the Magnolia Tree and had a fabulous time! The food was AMAZING! Our group had turkey and pepper jack on white, ham and pepper jack on rye, and grilled cheese - ask for pepper relish, chicken and dumplings, steak and mushroom sandwich, etc. But the best part was being treated like family by the owners. They treated our kids with such kindness and love - talking with them and even treating them to cake and ice cream for their birthdays. The whole place was clean, had a changing table, and was nice to spend a while cooling off in. Give it a try!

This place was a little gem. The food was awesome, and the owners were so nice. Philly cheese steak was awesome and humongous! We will be back next time we are in Tennessee.
