Kremmling in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Kremmling, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Kremmling appeals to outdoor-focused travelers with easy access to rafting and fishing on the Colorado River and nearby reservoirs such as Wolford Mountain Reservoir and Green Mountain Reservoir. Surrounded by public lands including Arapaho and Routt National Forests, it serves as a base for hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, and off-road exploration. The town itself reflects a classic Colorado ranching community, with open views, surrounding cliffs, and a low-key, uncrowded atmosphere compared with larger mountain resorts.
With favorites like Redemption Thrift, Heritage Park Museum, and MT DRAGON CHINESE & SUSHI RESTAURANT, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like MT DRAGON CHINESE & SUSHI RESTAURANT and The Dean West so you can get the best taste of Kremmling while you’re here. Big Shooter Coffee is a charming cafe located in Kremmling, offering a diverse selection of coffee beverages. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it an ideal spot to unwind. Whether you're craving a cappuccino with a flaky pastry or indulging in creamy ice cream cones and chocolate chip cookies, this place has something for everyone. With spacious seating inside and convenient drive-through service, it's the perfect place to enjoy delicious breakfast pastries and expertly crafted coffee drinks.
This is a great little stop off if you’re passing through Kremmling. I ordered the holy cow which is a latte with vanilla and dark chocolate and whipped cream and it was very good. They also had very delicious looking ice creams but seeing as it was winter time, I did not want that! Check it out, Colorado!

From the outside the place doesn’t look like anything special but it was great and I’m so glad I stopped! The coffee and ice cream were both delicious! I wish I would have been staying in the area longer so I could have tried even more of their flavors! The place stayed pretty busy and the staff were friendly.

Beautiful spot to grab a burrito, a pastry, and a coffee. They had various non-dairy milks in a cute little fridge next to to the coffee fixings (available for free)! I'll definitely be back!

This was such a cute delight during our wandering trip around dillon - silverthorne area. Staff are super friendly, lattes and icecream were awesome. I would recommend anypne near kremmling or CO-9 route to check this place out.
Ruby V — Google review
Amazing Blended Ice Lattes! While out driving the countryside sightseeing, we had a desire for an iced coffee and Google said this was the closest one. Although Kremmling seems quaint, this place has the vibe of an upscale coffee shop in a burgeoning new city! The decor inside is so unique and selection is vast! My wife and I got Caramel Blended Ice Lattes and the kids got Root Beer Floats, which they also loved! If traveling near the area, I definitely recommend stopping in. The employees we met are also super friendly, which is awesome to find these days where most young people don’t know the meaning of customer service and are absorbed in their phones. These ladies didn’t touch their phones the entire time we were there and looked us in the eye while speaking with us….I appreciate that!
J W — Google review
I stumbled into this gem and wish I could have met the owner. The walls are covered in quotes about the real meaning of life. It’s not just fantastic food and drinks. It’s a philosophical treat!
Austin A — Google review
Great selection of sweets, unusual variety of flavored lattes, excellent, friendly service
Linda D — Google review
On our way back from Steamboat Springs, Big Shooter is a family favorite for coffee and ice cream. Since it was cold outside we all opted for some hot coffee drinks, all expertly made by the young barista behind the counter. Service was warm, quick and friendly. There is plenty of seating and lots of eclectic and interesting decor to look at. We were still full from breakfast so unfortunately we didn’t have anything to eat although the delicious looking pastries and food menu were tempting. Will definitely be back during the warmer months to try the ice cream with flavors like huckleberry calling me back for sure!

I initially stopped in to exchange some coins for quarters and was greeted with a smile. The staff was friendly and happy to help. After filling up my water down the street for my camper, I came back to browse and was pleasantly surprised by how well-organized the store was. It had a charming, historic feel, and I ended up finding an awesome pair of Columbia hiking shoes at a great price. The woman at the front desk was very welcoming and made the visit even better. I’d definitely stop by again!

River Rafting & Tubing
Liquid Descent Rafting in Kremmling offers an exhilarating half-day trip down the Upper Colorado River. The journey features Class II/III rapids beneath the towering 500-foot walls of Lower Gore Canyon, with opportunities to spot bald eagles and bighorn sheep along the way. While it's known for its challenging whitewater, it also provides a calm and scenic float at the start. The guides conduct swim tests to ensure participants are prepared for the adventure ahead.
Yes. That’s the easiest way to explain this. This is an extremely family friendly trip. The river may have had a class 2 but the rest is very user friendly. Alex and Jordan were out guides and we couldn’t have asked for any better than them. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The owner, unfortunately I don’t remember his name, drove the bus and was very welcoming. If you’re ever in the area of Kremling make sure to book with them. They also have a location in Idaho Springs to better serve you.

We had a great float rafting trip with Andrew on the last day of the season. Perfect weather and beautiful stretch of river.
Michael C — Google review
Liquid Descent Rafting in Kremmling was 10/10 experience. Our guide Andrew made the trip amazing!! He was very knowledgeable and was an excellent guide! Definitely recommend.
Hailey H — Google review
Not for the faint of heart, this is some of the toughest commercially guided whitewater in the United States. Nice calm and scenic float in, and a few swim tests to make sure you're up to the task and aren't going to panic. If you fail the swim tests, you may be walking 3 miles back to town on the train tracks without refund, so know before you go. After that, it's some of the best Class 4 and 5 rapids I've ever been on. Huge 13 foot drop, and lots of chicaynes to navigate through. Tennessee Lee was very experienced and I'm glad we had athletic people in our boat that followed his directions or we would have ended up flipping or swimming some of the really rough parts. Nice little cookout at the end before a short bus ride back to town. Overall great experience and why I seek out Liquid Decent over other companies.
Joel S — Google review
Upper Colorado with a 5 & 7 year old in tow. Nice first experience for the kids. Andrew our guide was funny, friendly and a real good dude. Kenny and Melissa were also top notch with bus ride stories and jokes. The ability to buy dozens of digital pictures that Melissa took for $20 is great. Great merchandise and I cant wait to sport my tee back in Minneapolis.

Gore Canyon rafting did not disappoint! Not for sissies but a fantastic run through Class IV and V rapids if you are up for some adventure. It was only my second rafting trip but they made me feel safe. Our guide, Sunny, was terrific. Beautiful scenery through the canyon. Highly recommend!!!

Located in Kremmling, Colorado, Grand Adventure Brewing Company offers a perfect end to an adventurous day with its cold brews and delicious burgers. What sets them apart is their use of locally foraged ingredients in many of their beers. The brewery also serves as a great spot for lunch, offering a variety of locally brewed beers and other adult beverages.
I freaking love this place. We pass through kremmling every year on our way to steamboat, and they are always so friendly and especially dog-friendly. They have a great outdoor patio in the back where dogs are welcome. They are prompt in serving and have a great choice of beers, cocktails, and food. We will always make this an annual tradition!
Amy S — Google review
Great selection of pub fare items and sandwiches. The majority of folks come for the beer which is brewed on premise. It is a bar so expect it to be loud with expletives flying with no regard for who hears but other than that a must try while in the area
Rex M — Google review
Great beer and food. Ambiance, selection, and service was awesome. Cant wait to return in the summer and sit on the patio. We had the shishito peppers, Chicago dog, and the Central Street chicken sandwich.
Margaret S — Google review
Sad that they don’t brew their own beer anymore, but what they have on tap is great. The price of food is slightly higher but the portions are big, so we shared a hot pastrami sandwich with curly fries and we still had leftovers! Waitress is super sweet, you should definitely give them a shot.
Siu K — Google review
We visited with the promise of a local craft beer: "Welcome to Grand County's most unique Craft Brewery, featuring beers made with locally sourced ingredients." It doesn't exist - well, except for the two remaining leftovers. Not brewing or distilling anymore. Equipment? Yep, for sale if you're interested. So the brewstillery side is 1 star. We decided to stay, and ordered burgers, sweet potato fries, and two "guest taps". One was flat, the other was meh. But the burgers and fries are what bring this rating up to a 3. At $20 it's about what we'd expect to pay, and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't busy during our late afternoon visit and service was slow but friendly.
Johnston C — Google review
So online they have an extensive beer menu… they don’t brew beer anymore as their brewer left. They are now a taproom, and the offerings are standard. We went for lunch, there were two servers who were overwhelmed as to the amount of people that showed up. We saw our server once for a drink order, then once for a food order. While waiting for our food I saw three tables of people get up and leave because the servers weren’t coming to their table. I was hopeful from the previous reviews online, would not recommend.
John B — Google review
This place is just odd. It appears to be three places in one building, but two of the places don't exist. Grand Adventure Brewing is defunct. The distillery doesn't exist either. It's a restaurant. We went there to try some of the beers on the Grand adventure brewing websites tap list. Good luck with that. None of those beers exist. Why is that website still operational? Very weird.

During my recent travels, I stumbled upon the charming Kremmling Mercantile, a delightful general store that truly embodies the spirit of local shopping. It was my first time visiting this store. For the most part, it's a nice little store. I love supporting mom and pop places as I'm traveling. Prices are a little higher than I'm used too but the atmosphere was great! Until I got to the checkout line. The older white guy who was my cashier. Didn't even acknowledge me not one time. But he engaged with other customers walking up. He only asked what my payment method was. And gave Trump vibes when ringing my items up. I don't know if it was due to my brown skin or not. But he definitely doesn't need to be the face of this nice little establishment. I can pick up a bad vibe a mile away. He also priced a couple of my items out wrong. I didn't notice it until I had driven off. Because I'm an otr truck driver, I was on a tight time schedule. So I didn't catch it until I stopped that night. I'm still trying to shake that bad vibe. So I personally probably won't shop here again. All the other ladies I encountered were really nice and respectful 🙏🏾. So I gave the 3 star rating for them. Diversity and sensitivity training should tighten him up.

I love this place. I stop in for a donut and a sandwich when I’m working in the area. I wish they had better coffee, they have an instant brew machine … it’s not good. Great little grocery store in the middle of nowhere though.

This was a very interesting find in the mid morning of our recent trip. It’s a drug store, clothing store, liquor store, deli and gas station all under one roof They offer some unique finds throughout the store. However, they only have a single stall bathroom in both men’s and women’s. The line was long to use the bathroom and that’s problematic when traveling and making a stop The staff was extremely friendly and nice
D ( — Google review
My husband is a disabled vet (missing one eye, low vision other) with a service dog, we had completed our shopping and were at the checkout when we encountered the rudest most misinformed clerk we had ever come across, she said dogs are not allowed in the store and I said it’s a service dog and she said they are not allowed without a vest. I also paid for a bag of ice and asked where it was at, her response was “if you look. you can’t miss it.” Rude and hateful.

Sushi in the mountains! I was weary but DANG it was super fresh and Uber yummy. We will def be going back! I can overlook the lack luster service because the food was so good....

Such a great eatery. Was in town for the Kremmling Days, absolutely loved this location, from the burger and fries, to the service. If you’re in the area definitely a must visit. Didn’t get the opportunity to try their local brewed drinks, but if that’s your thing, give it a try!

Excellent service. My 84 year old dad said it was the best BLT he ever had. Onion rings were perfect. Owner told about his 20 year old recipe.. highly recommend
Alex P — Google review
Everyone in the area suggested that we eat here so we had high hopes of a good meal. Unfortunately, the service was meh and the food was even more meh. The jalapeno poppers and sweet potato fries were the best part of our meals. We also ordered a philly and a grilled cheese. The philly meat was okay but the sandwich was dry and the bread was lacking. The grilled cheese was more like two slices of slightly “melted” cheese bread that were then put together and not even toasted as you can see in the picture. We would have been better off to have skipped lunch than to waste money here. Neither of us ate our food. And every single thing we needed (i.e. silverware), we had to ask for. It seems like servers don’t anticipate needs anymore. You have to track them down and ask for every little thing you need for your meal.
Ashley M — Google review
(If you are not from Texas, Tennessee, or some other smoked BBQ culture feel free to skip this review. ) The atmosphere and service is great. The BBQ is meat but it’s not BBQ. They re-pan fry the brisket for example. It’s cut length-wise for some reason. We couldn’t eat the rack of ribs. There was hardly a taste, had the consistency like they’ve been frozen for awhile. I think they might use Chinese five spice in all their seasoning which is just wrong. So go for the drinks and atmosphere and order safe pub food. Skip the BBQ.

Sandwich shop
Subway is a popular counter-serve chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads, offering healthy options. Visitors have praised the fresh food and efficient service, even during busy times. The friendly staff and clean dining area create a pleasant experience for customers. Despite occasional lines, the overall atmosphere is described as casual and inviting. Whether stopping by for a quick meal or grabbing food on the go, Subway offers a satisfying dining experience with its diverse menu options.
After a 9 mo.(?) hiatus, Kremling Subway is back! Traditionally ( for years) one of the better franchises, new owners/managers look to continue as a great quick, fresh meal- the only one in town, really. Everything was available and top quality. Our 2nd visit since reopening. Keep up the good work, we'll be back!

Ordered 6" steak and cheese sub and root beer. Food was good and fresh, however Rewards weren't offered. Limited parking availability. Store does participate in Rewards program. However updated app wasn't working properly.

I showed up to pick up my online order after it showed it was ready and the receipt hadn't even been printed out aswell as they added ingredients in our salad we asked to have removed

The staff was very friendly. We were traveling to DIA and love to make this subway a stop on our way. We got a later start than expected and entered 10 minutes before closing. The restaurant still had people in line before us and someone entered after we did. We got great service and the sandwiches are always great! We didn’t feel rushed and the young man checking us out was talkative, personable with the customers.

They were out of soup and only had 2 kinds of bread. They were out of cookies and stopped carrying the bakes lays but they had prompt service and the sandwich was good

Recommended. Really good, and well worth stopping by. I visited at about 3pm on a Wednesday and was impressed that the food was as fresh as if in the middle of the lunchtime rush. The Sandwich Artist who helped me was efficient and friendly. Clean dining area, and the A/C was easily cooling the whole dining area. An excellent place to stop, have a nice simple meal, and look out the window to contemplate the mesa, sky, and main street traffic as it all goes by....

We were passing through and needed something quick, so we stopped at this subway. It was the most friendly and professional group of subway employees that I've ever encountered. The place was clean, the veggies were stocked, and they went out of their way to make sure we had our orders perfect.

Made a pit stop on way to Denver Airport to head back home. This was the 10 year anniversary for the owner, who is the sweetest person ever. This is not your normal chain Subway. This is a very friendly environment. Place is amazing and owner gave both our kids Christmas ornaments to take back to Tampa. Great way to end our vacation.
